synopsis : after famous actor yn’s questionable scandal, management did their best to divert the public’s attention elsewhere, grabbing any opportunity that was swung at their direction—leading her to being reunited with an all too familiar acquaintance.

“HELLO TO YOU BOTH,” said the host, his rich smile reaching his eyes.

the two exchanged a brief glance before y/n held out her hand and shook the host’s. “mark, it’s nice to finally meet you.”

“oh please, the pleasure’s all mine. i’ve been a fan of your work since rebelde. congratulations on nosferatu, by the way.”

the actor nodded in acknowledgment before returning to her seat next to soyeon.

soyeon, who was currently fidgeting with the sleeve of her jacket. she’d been on countless shows, done endless interviews, so why was her heart beating so fast? why was her mind racing? why—

“soyeon.”

she glanced up at the sound of her name, quickly plastering a smile on her face. “yes, sorry, what did you say?”

“well, we heard you had an album ready. your pre-release is already out, and it’s a hit. what was your inspiration?”

the starlet glanced at y/n, scanning her face before quickly looking away the second their eyes met.

“ah. well, know is about..” her voice trailed off, the explanation suddenly foreign on her tongue.

“..it’s about two people who fell out of connection finding their way back to one another. one is working to get to know the other, while the other,” soyeon paused, offering the host a half-hearted smile, “while the other already knows everything about them. it’s a bittersweet feeling, knowing someone is only now putting in the effort to understand you when you gave them everything from the start.”

mark nodded as y/n’s expression remained neutral, unreadable.

“that’s a very nice message, soyeon. i applaud you for your ability to make such masterpieces,” he praised.

“you’re too kind, mark,” the idol said with a gentle chuckle.

“are you two familiar with our show? have you watched..”

mark’s voice trailed off as the two exchanged a glance that answered his question for him.

soyeon and y/n couldn’t help but share a chuckle at the man’s defeated expression.

“sorry mark, but i only heard of it when we were told we’d be on here,” y/n admitted.

mark let out a playful sigh before clearing his throat and standing up, prompting the two to follow.

“well, no worries. i’m here to explain and guide you both through it. there’s a special section of our show where we’ll be interviewing you separately. we have questions that may or may not correlate with the other’s, and we’ll see how compatible you two really are based on your answers.”

soyeon’s palms suddenly felt sweaty. they hadn’t rehearsed anything for this section—though, to be fair, they hadn’t even known this segment existed.

“that’s actually a really interesting concept. it’s alright, i already know me and her are compatible,” y/n said, suddenly wrapping an arm around the idol.

mark let out a small chuckle before nodding. “yeah, yeah. you’d be surprised how many times i’ve heard that.”

his tone, though lighthearted, left a small sense of unease between the two.

“let’s start off easy. how did you two meet?”

soyeon let out a small sigh of relief. thankfully, she and y/n had discussed how to answer this question beforehand.

“well, we met at this bar. me and the girls had a gig that night, and we decided to get some drinks in celebration.”

she couldn’t help but laugh a little.

“i went up to get our drinks, and she was sitting there, chatting with the bartender. i stood there, just waiting, until she started talking to me.”

the starlet subtly wet her lips, nodding as she gave the camera a small smile.

“and i guess the rest is history.”

“what made you fall for her?”

y/n leaned back in her seat, arms crossed as she took a moment to ponder the question.

“..a lot of things made me fall for her. her smile, her charisma,” she paused briefly before shrugging. “but if we’re getting into specifics, i guess it was her ability to stay grounded.”

“she can see things from so many perspectives, understand each one—but that doesn’t make her own opinion waver. it’s admirable, actually.”

“what’s your ideal type?”

soyeon glanced off to the side before speaking.

“personally, i don’t want someone too ambitious. i want someone who prioritizes what makes them happy before what could make them successful.”

she took a moment to choose her words carefully. she wanted to stay vague, but at the same time, she needed to make sure it at least hinted at y/n a little.

“i want someone to love me, and i want to know they’ll choose me no matter what. i want someone who’s okay with reassuring me without making it seem like i’m nagging them.”

“someone who understands me through and through. someone who can look past my flaws. people like that make my heart skip.”

“my type?”

y/n bit the inside of her cheek, thinking for a moment before clearing her throat.

“i like someone who’s free-spirited. outgoing, if you will.”

she watched as the people behind the cameras nodded, signaling her to continue.

“someone who doesn’t need a lot of reassurance because i know they trust me.”

“so you prioritize trust over everything?”

y/n nodded. “i think trust is the most important thing in any relationship, romantic or not. without trust, you have nothing.”

y/n, soyeon, and mark sat in their seats, a faint smile gracing the host’s lips as he looked between the two.

“well, i’d like to thank you both for being here. it’s been a pleasure having you.”

“ah, well, thank you for having us,” the actor replied as soyeon nodded.

with a few more exchanges, filming came to an end.

A Cait le ha costado pero ha aprendido como intentar hacer creíble su relación con Tony aunque el sigue tan poco colaborativo como se ve en el vídeo de IFTA

No hay llegada a los premios porque la ultima vez, el papel de guardabrigo de Tony a la salida del coche de Cait quedó bien patente y ese paso atrás como buen asistente ha quedado para la historia.

No hay desfile en la Red Carpet con Tony porque la velocidad de Cait para alejarse de el saben que es carne de gifs.

Las manos de Tony debajo de la mesa porque sus últimos aplausos denotaban un cierto manierismo muy poco varonil.

Cait radiante, esperando el barrido de la cámara, mientras Tony parece ajeno a lo que sucede alrededor con una sonrisa que podríamos describir como una mueca.

En resumen, la enésima puesta en escena del circo Tait. Si aún hay alguien que compre entradas para ese espectáculo es su problema, no el nuestro.

I overall agree, as always, with your very balanced evaluation of the current state of play. But I also think tickets for that particular show will always be a hot sale in this fandom, either because it will be just up some people's alley (Mordor - I am amazed at the stupidity of their discussing the concept and some of them never heard of Tolkien: mind boggles), or because of the collective trauma/Stockholm syndrome many of us, here, still display. What I mean by that is very simple: for eight years now, we, shippers have been hostages of that Narrative and when something happens along those lines, we will surely react, giving all its toxicity renewed space and airtime. I am not judging anybody, here, because this is only human (and to many, the trauma is palpable) and there is nothing to judge. This is, however, a well-known group behavior dynamic that never fails to deliver. What she did was simply to double down on her PDA. But the experiment failed, because even five years after that Remarkable Week-end, the man still can't be arsed to show any organic enthusiasm or even involvement in his whereabouts. Cue in the SC nostalgia pic galore on shipping blogs and I have to say I am not really a fan: it just fuels that disco inferno cycle and exposes us to the same old, vile criticism, when the core of the shipping belief system is to be found elsewhere. Again, not judging anyone, just trying to understand behavior patterns, here.

Plus, I am really sorry, but he has been looking all sorts of terrible for quite a while, now. Blaming the camera angle (cortisone bloating) or the lighting systems is as mendacious and idiotic as the people circulating it. This kind of free propaganda is also known by all the interested parties and it also never fails to deliver, for many reasons it would be useless to further analyze.

Summary: Andi swore off of love after Emilia left. When her band blew up over the summer she travelled throughout Mexico leaving a trail of rebounds but now the school year was starting and MJ's younger cousin was her newest target.

Andi walked beside you, hands shoved into the pockets of her jacket. The two of you falling into easy conversation about the school's many scandals. Last school year Andi's band had been the cause of multiple scandals from starting fires to sx tapes but as your sister always said any press is good press.

"Media training really is dead," you said, smiling at one of her jokes. It was honestly unfair how she managed to be both the most gorgeous girl you've seen and funny.

Even without the stage lights or the photographers she still managed to look untouchable, too beautiful to be real.

"I'm sure you'll fit right in." She glanced over at you, her mouth tugging into a smirk.

You would've been offended if she wasn't probably right. Considering your sister was the definition of a PR nightmare and you two had a lot more in common than you'd like to admit you weren't expecting to stay under the radar.

"I'm an angel,” you said, pretending to sound hurt.

"You're a lot of things but I doubt angel is one of them.”

"You barely know me."

"I know that you've been flirting with me since I found you in the hallway.” Her eyes stayed on you waiting for a reaction, an acknowledgment of what you both knew was true.

"Fair point," you relented. There was no point in denying it. Not when she had caught you eye fucking her twice. There was nothing subtle about the way you wanted her.

You looked around trying to figure out where you were going. At some point Andi had gone from being in front of you to being beside you and the tour became mindlessly wandering around. You didn't mind the change though. Talking to her felt easy. She was as captivating off stage as she was on and as attractive.

As you walked through the halls with her you couldn't help but notice the looks. People whispered as she walked by some staring with admiration others with judgement. She didn't seem to care walking as if heads weren't turning for her. You however couldn't help feeling the weight of the whispers.

A part of you enjoyed it. Everyone wanted in on Rebelde, especially Andi. When the band blew up she became a fan favourite especially among the girls. You enjoyed the envious looks and the not so subtle pictures being taken. You had something they wanted. For a moment you had her and you were going to make it last as long as possible.

"Girls dorms are up ahead just a little farther," Andi said, starting to walk slightly in forward as if just now remembering she was supposed to be giving a tour. You would've enjoyed aimlessly roaming around with her for a while longer but you knew you'd find some way to extend the tour.

You both turned a corner going into the dorm hallway. Most of the doors were open with people just starting to settle in. You saw glimpses of each room. They were all identical with small layout changes. You had seen the dorms while on call with MJ but being here was completely different. They were perfect.

Andi looked at you as you stared into the dorms. "They're pretty sweet right."

It probably seemed ridiculous to her how excited the dorms made you. You were sure you had the look of an overly enthusiastic first year but you didn't mind. This was a dream come true and you wanted to savour every part of it.

"I guess," you said with a shrug.

“Lemme guess you're used to having a nice big room to yourself in daddy's huge house.” If her adorable face wasn't so distracting you might've actually taken offence to the joke. But it was and you were helpless against her amused face.

“Fuck off,” you said rolling your eyes and trying not to smile.

“That's not a no.”

“It's complicated.” You thought back to the messages you'd received earlier. It was a lot more than complicated. It was a mess. One you weren't in the mood to look at.

“So mysterious...Do you know your assigned room yet?” You did but there was no reason you had to go so soon. Not when you had her all to yourself.

"I do but why go now." You paused for a minute letting her think about what you were implying before continuing. "I got a sneak peak at my roommates and it's some child star and influence so I'll stay out here as long as possible."

"I'll pray for you." You rolled your eyes at her silently hoping you wouldn't need her prayers. With people you usually had low expectations but this was a fresh start.

There was no point in judging the girls before you had met them. Especially since you had stalked them both on social media and hadn't found any scandals or problematic incidents.

The influencer, Mia, seemed like a teenager who just happened to become famous. There was nothing shiny or aspirational about the life she showed online. While the actress, Demi, had been in the limelight her entire life. Everything about her image was perfectly crafted.

"Sounds like way too much ego in one room for me," she said, filling the silence.

"I'll survive." If there was one thing living with your father had taught you it was how to live with someone who's ego suffocated those around them (and how to handle a drunk). "I've delt with worse."

Andi tilted her head slightly. Her deep brown eyes filled with curiosity. You knew she wanted to ask but she wouldn't. Some things were better left unsaid.

"If the egos get too suffocating, you know where to find me."

You already knew you would but you also knew this wasn't the beginning to some sweet love story. As charming as Andi was, you weren't delusional enough to mistake her for some soft-hearted romantic. And that was fine, you weren't looking for that either. Not this time.

You had your own shit to handle. Falling into another mess would only drag you down, and Andi? Andi was a mess no matter how pretty she looked. You knew everything about everyone MJ knew especially Andi. The ugly breakup. The rebound parade over the summer. Andi didn’t do relationships, she did distractions.

"Actually, I don't," you said, pretending to look around like you were lost. "You still haven't shown me your dorm."

"I didn't realise that was a part of the tour.” She motioned ahead, stepping forward with a shrug. “It’s just down this way."

"Here we are."

Andi opened the door. Her hand lingered behind her for you to grab. You took it as she led you into the room. Your eyes wandered through the room noticing all the bags already being out and somewhat unpacked. Each bed had its own area, two of which were on platforms, sectioned off by a wooden border.

"Which one's yours," you said while closing the gap between you and Andi.

"It's the platform on the right.."

"I wouldn't mind standing here a bit longer," Andi said, her eyes moving from yours to your lips and back. Her thoughts clearly written on her face. "But I guess I could show you."

You followed her to the stairs and onto the platform.

Andi laid back against the headboard and her eyes following you while she took off her letterman jacket. Hidden underneath were tattoos running along both her arms. The tattoos varied with some being large pieces of art while others were tiny doodles.

You climbed onto the bed laying beside her on your stomach.For a moment there was comfortable silence as you took each other in. Her eyes watched yours as they trailed over her body. The sheer shirt she wore left little to the imagination with only a bra underneath. You noticed the outline of nipple piercings poking through her bra.

“As much as I love my view right now you'd look so much better kissing me.”

You were on your knees now hovering over her. She looked completely helpless under you, waiting. Her eyes pleading and hungry. A part of you wanted to take her right then.

“Say please,” you said, moving your face closer as if to kiss her but stopping.

“Please kiss me y/n,” Andi pleaded. Your stomach curled at her words.

Your lips softly pressed against hers going slowly, needing to savour the taste of her sweet lips. The soft kiss quickly turned into more.

Her tongue slammed into your mouth.

Her hands found their way into your hair.

You looped your legs on her sides hovering over her without stopping the kiss.

You could barely pull away long enough to breathe before she would go in for more. It was messy and rushed. It was perfect. It wasn't passionate kisses born out of need for each other but more so need to forget. Need for a distraction. Weren't those always the best though.

“Mhmm” you let out before coming up for air. You straightened up allowing yourself to fully sit on Andi while trying to catch your breath. Her lips were slightly swollen and covered in your lip products. Her curls made a mess by your hands. You enjoyed seeing her like this. Seeing what you'd done to her in such a short amount of time.

The untouchable Andi Agosti. She was an idea, a fantasy, the persona that had people lining up all summer to watch her band perform. And now you were here in her bed watching her look at you like you were the only thing in the world. It was intoxicating.

"Orientation's almost over,” Andi said causing you to look up from her neck. You rested your head in the crook of her neck, a small sigh escaping your lips. You wanted to savour this moment as long as possible. Maybe if you just stayed in her arms time would stay still.

Being with her felt so easy. There was no time to think about anything else, not when she made you feel so free. It was just you and her. But time wouldn't slow, especially not for you. And that was okay for once. For once there was nothing to run from. No reason to need an escape. Today you wouldn't need to fight against time.

"You might wanna button your shirt back up, not that I don't love seeing it undone.” Her voice brought you back down to earth. Her eyes stayed on your lace bra while she spoke.“I doubt my roommates would enjoy it as much as me.”

You had almost forgotten whose bed you were in. Not Andi the star, Andi your cousin's best friend. The same cousin who would be here in a few minutes. It wasn't like you had done anything wrong. Andi was her own person; she didn't belong to MJ. So why did you feel guilty?

“How much longer,” was all you could manage while trying to shove down the guilt.

“There's like seven minutes left. My roommate just texted me.”

“I need to get up.”

“Do you really have to?” Andi leaned in, her hands holding your waist a little tighter as she went for another kiss. You only indulged her for a moment, finding it impossible to say no. Now kissing her felt wrong, dirty. Knowing that you'd have to face MJ in a few minutes turned it sour. The guilt still lingered as you pulled away.

Andi's hands fell from your hips leaving them feeling bare. Her eyes staying on you as you got up and went to the mirror. You tried to ignore the feeling of Andi's eyes following you. If you looked at her she'd find some way to pull you back into bed.

You looked at yourself in the mirror and started to fix your hair. Unlike Andi's curls it hadn't been made a mess. She had tied it up for you a little after you had gotten on her lap so all you had to do was put it down and run your fingers through it. You slipped Andi's hair tie on your wrist like a souvenir. Something to prove this had actually happened.

Your makeup had stayed mostly the same and in that moment you had never been more happy about 12 year old you getting into makeup so early. Your lip combo wasn't as intact as the rest of your face, most of it still on Andi. Thank Beyonce you had the products in your purse.

While on her lap your skirt had lifted to the point of your ass being out which you didn't necessarily mind but this wasn't exactly the time or place. You pulled it down letting the fabric mold around your hips, stopping a few inches below your ass. Despite the constant movement your stockings had stayed in place without any rips.

You buttoned up your shirt leaving one undone to show off your bra. Looking in the mirror you couldn't help admiring yourself and your outfit. Knowing you weren't the only one admiring you turned around giving Andi a show. “Enjoying the view sweetheart?”

“So much.” You could drown yourself in the way she looked at you and maybe you would but not today.

“Andiii,” a soft female voice called out.

You looked up to see Jana standing at the doorway. Her eyes met yours and you watched as she processed what was happening. Her eyes moved between you and Andi who was wiping her face clean of your makeup.

At first she looked confused at who you were but then the recognition set in. You pictured all the times you had said hi to her on call flashing through her mind. You could've just said surprising MJ was why you had been in the room but then she looked at Andi.

It must've seemed normal at first. You and Andi sitting together. At least until she noticed that you were too close. That Andi's hand was resting too high on your thigh, her fingers rubbing. If that wasn't enough Andi still hadn't wiped off your makeup leaving a glossy imprint on the sides of her mouth.

She didn't enter the room, just stood there trying to make sense of what she was seeing.

“What the fuck.” She looked like was about to go into shock as her eyes flickered between the two of you. “y/n… Andi.”

“I can explain.”

Andi was now the one with the confused look on her face. “Am I missing something here? Do you guys know each other?”

“She doesn't know?”

“Doesn't know what?” Andi asked.

“I hadn't exactly gotten to that yet Jana,” you snapped. Now was as bad a time as any.

So you did, you told Andi you were MJ's cousin. The same little cousin who she had heard about for a year now. The one who was strictly off limits to everyone. The mystery Andi always wondered about. That was you.

Mj and you had always been close which meant constant calls and photo dumps. When she first got to EWS she would call you every night. You remembered Andi teasing her about it, making jokes about her “mystery boyfriend.” You also remember Andi asking MJ if you were hot after finding out you were in fact a girl and MJ throwing a pillow at her saying you were her little cousin and that Andi was gross.

She seemed like she didn't wanna believe it at first. Maybe she was expecting someone younger, less attractive, more catholic. You were everything MJ wasn't. The two of you didn't even look alike. No one who knew the two of you would think you were cousins.

“Wow you definitely could've told me this before we almost did it.” Fair enough. You should've and you knew that but it was nice to pretend. Just for a little bit you were someone else. The rush of meeting someone new always swept you up, made you forget about consequences.

You'd deal with Andi later but first Jana.

You and Andi could at least agree that MJ didn't need to know about your tour. It would only take away from her excitement about you coming. You didn't even know how you'd bring it up. Not after years of waiting. How do you see your favourite person after years of being apart and tell them you almost slept with their best friend.

As for Andi she understood why you didn't want MJ to know. You were she also had her own reasons, If you were her you wouldn't want to tell MJ. It would make things complicated and Andi didn't do complicated.

Jana wasn't as understanding.

“I'm not lying to her.” That was honestly funny coming from Jana. Her and MJ had been at each other's throats towards the end of last year. It had gotten slightly better over summer but they definitely weren't friends anymore.

“It's not lying, it's just not saying anything.” You figured Andi would have a better chance convincing her so you stayed quiet watching them. They were bandmates and roommates so you assumed they were close or at the very least friends.

And somehow Andi managed to get her to agree not to say anything.

Voices came from the hallway shortly after Jana had calmed down making your breath stop. You could've recognised MJ's voice from miles away. The voice messages and random videos before she went on stage or on her extra busy days when she couldn't call, which was most days, had kept you going.

“Luka you just have to be…” MJ stopped a few inches away from the door. Her eyes widened at the sight of you.

“NO WAY,” she screamed running to you. Her arms wrapped around you quickly making you almost tipped over. For a moment you were kids again running to each other at every family party. She did most of the running, sometimes knocking you over in the process.

"Hi,” you managed to say while MJ pressed you tighter against her. You couldn't tell if she missed you or was trying to suffocate you. Maybe both.

“Are you tryna kill her?”

"Sorry." MJ pulled back just enough to look at you, her eyes wide and glassy. "I swear, I thought I was seeing things," she said, letting out a shaky laugh. "You’re really here... I can’t believe it!"

She didn’t even give you time to answer before pulling you into another hug, even tighter than the first one.

"Surprise.” MJ pulled away at the words and you noticed the tears threatening to pour out of her eyes. You really hoped she didn't cry. When she cried, you cried. Her parents used to say you were linked. As a kid every emotion she felt you felt times two.

“Wait, that's why you weren't at orientation,” she said, turning to Andi. “I knew something was up but I never would've guessed this.”

“What can I say, I'm the best best friend ever.”

Fen didn't know Spanish in high school. If you come from a Spanish Speaking background Fen will likely learn it during their several year long stalking period, making sure to specifically learn the version you speak. I think Fen already speaks French as well as English prior to going to high school.

Fen doesn't talk to anyone from high school. The girl in the picture was someone Fen knew merely by being in the chess club. They didn't have a lot of friends and the few friends they did have weren't completely fond of Fen. They weren't bullied but Fen constantly felt like there was a wall between them and the people around them. Their friends felt the same way about Fen.

Fen dyed their hair mostly to fit in, since it was a trend where they went to school. I mostly thought about cool dyed hair I could remember from my high school years and remembered this guy who dyed his hair half red. The anon asking about Fen having dyed hair made me think about what Fen would have done. Originally I wanted to give Fen cotton candy colored hair that was split in half as well but I was worried it'd give baby shower vibes.

I think Fen isn't the biggest fan of teen drama shows, but would watch it if you indicated you liked it. It'd also help them learn Spanish. Once Fen starts watching they likely get hooked on any petty drama. I haven't seen it, tbh. But I do know enough about Glee (haven't watched it but I get the jist) and if it's like Glee they might like it a lot.

Honestly, Fen loves it when you gossip about literally anything. As soon as you start talking about something like your rich uncle getting investigated for insurance fraud, Fen is gobbling it up.

They have plenty of gossip to provide back, but most of it isn't true. Fen's dad (who's name is Fredrick btw thanks Sky for naming him) had a habit of exaggerating what Fen's Mom (named Zara, thanks again, Sky) side of the family did to deter Fen from seeking that side out once they got older. Fen thinks it's true because they trust their dad, so they aren't lying to you.

ok. rebelde 2022 thoughts from someone who has been a rebelde 2004 fan since it originally aired 

let’s start with: i don’t like the netflix 8-episode seasons, they don’t give me enough time to actually know everything i need to know about these characters and get attached to them (it’s the same issue i had with young royals tbh). rebelde 2004 was a telenovela that aired almost daily for basically 2 years. they could spend 5-6 chapters with some b-plot storyline going on and still have us hooked with other storylines and all that, and then move on to a completely different storyline the next week, you know?

so having jana be like “i thought what we had was real” to esteban after (what it feels like) only knowing him for 3 days? blargh. also having them as the main couple was just... a terrible idea. they’re boring, very troy and gabriella which is nothing like the rebelde couples we love. mia and miguel? diego and roberta? the blueprints of enemies to lovers. maybe the 2022 romantic dynamic that hit the closest to a rebelde dynamic was dixon x mj, with dixon being the more wildcard, rebellious one and mj being more sweet and innocent (a similar dynamic to lupita and santos) and even that still felt a little rushed (again 8 episodes... not enough); i also really liked andi x emilia but thats because rebelde 2004 didn’t have gay people so 2022 wins there.

also that jana x esteban break-up at the end felt so out of the blue. it lacks drama, it lacks silliness, it lacks everything that made the og rebelde so good.

another thing: the personalities for these characters felt really flat. out of the main 6, luka was the one with the most distinguished traits, i feel like he was the one that was the closest to having a whole “hero’s journey” going for him (obviously he’s my favorite). the thing about rebelde 2004 that really worked was that the main 6 characters were very flawed, completely different from one another and very cartoonishingly so. 

mia was an extremely girly-girl-spoiled-bratty-most-popular-daddy’s girl ever, roberta was the most rebellious-rock-n-roll-post-feminism-punk girl, lupita was the peak angelic-church-going-innocent-eternally-virginal type, etc. all these characters were very distinctively different from one another to the point where watching them learn how to get along felt much more interesting and rewarding. and even the supporting characters, the teachers, the parents, etc., all of them felt very unique. meanwhile in 2022 these traits that are supposed to tell them apart are kind of... flat. i can kinda compare them to the og 6 but i cannot right away categorize jana or esteban in any kind of archetype, all these 2022 characters feel like a bella swan-ification of the og main 6 and it’s boring tbh

don’t get me started with la logia... 2004 la logia were truly terrifying. they’d specifically target scholarship students, it was some sort of neonazi allegory, using anonymous threats and real violence and it was genuinely scary whenever they were around. like you’d be fearing for these characters’ lives when they were caught by la logia, people would end up in the hospital fighting for their lives fr!!!!!!! and now... la logia catches the newbies (regardless of status) and makes them... sing? laughable

and “you can’t compare the two” won’t fly here. it’s a direct continuation of an iconic piece of entertainment, and i am a fan of the source material, i am exclusively watching it to make comparisons. not to mention, the characters themselves made direct comparisons - which actually make me dislike them a little more (jana cohen you will never be mia colucci)

and a few lore issues:

so pilar and tomás just... broke up? i guess it happens, of course not all of the couples that ended up together in the 2004 version would be together forever but when you’re making something for people who watched the material source... maybe a little explanation wouldn’t hurt? i wasn’t even that invested in pilar and tomás (i’m more of a lesbian pilar truther tbh)

celina was pregnant when the og rebelde ended. where is the child? that child would be 15-16 in 2022 which is the perfect age for them to be in elite way school... being a character... causing trouble...

speaking of elite way school: this new version is so fucking ugly. the og ews was this DREAM school we all ENVIED and the students would use their laptops in class (i remember being so jealous because laptops were still like. A Big Deal) but this new one is like: concrete. here’s all these students with this wannabe 2000s aesthetics, but this school will be just boring concrete. ugly as fuck and looks tiny

why were there no celina and pilar scenes? they’re literally the two characters that connected us to the original story and they’ve known each other for a long time. celina now has pilar’s dad’s job! and i would’ve felt it in my heart if, in that final scene of the nonames (i refuse to call them rebelde) singing that iconic song, celina and pilar had just fondly smiled at each other because of the good ol’days..... but then didn’t do it! ugh

but let’s go to what i liked:

luka. i’d be biased anyway because he’s a colucci but as i mentioned before he felt like the most distinctive character out of the main 6 and his journey felt the most rewarding to follow.

the anita twist: was genuinely surprised by that. maybe i wasn’t that interested in the logia storyline since it felt so silly compared to the og but seeing her in that revelation scene was quite surprising

diversity: something rebelde 2004 really lacked and the 2022 version managed to do better (we can always keep improving though).

andi x emilia: although it still felt rushed (fucking 8 episode season), it was very refreshing to see a queer storyline in the rebelde universe

lourdes: she was very likeable (even though she purposefully tries not to be), loved her attitude with the students and i wish we had seen even more of her

the covers: i actually enjoyed the covers (although i thought the salvame mv was very corny but not in a camp way like the 2004 one, you know?), listening to songs i’ve loved for more than half of my life in new versions was fun and i’m always up bop to tras de mi .

these are my first thoughts tho. if i think of anything else i’ll keep talking about it i guess lmao

idk if you know RBD but they're a very famous teenage band from latam, like extremely extremely famous and popular. They're doing a reunion stadium tour after 15 years and the tickets for my concert when live today and OMFG it was insane. I spend almost 5 hours trying to get tickets and the site crashed down almost inmidiatly, it was just pure chaos.

The thing is, it got me thinking about the 1d reunión and I know for a fact is going to be worst than today and I'm definitely not ready

Omg, anon!! YES! I grew up in the states but I’m Mexican and used to watch Rebelde re-runs all the time as a kid. RBD wasn’t as popular here but I ABSOLUTELY know of them. 🤩 I knew that would be a crazy process but 5 HOURS?? Wow!! So happy to see them doing this for the fans, I just know it’s gonna be nuts in the best way.

A 1D reunion will definitely make several sites crash, there’s no doubt. I only got to see them live as OT4 for OTRA right after Zayn left but the energy then still exceeds anything I’ve experienced at any of their solo shows (or even bigger artists). 🫠🫠🫠

I mean, maybe this is a hot take, maybe it's me being naive, but I kinda think Starship has been waiting for the best time to let Wonho and Monsta X communicate in public again.

From what little I've heard, the only people that still hate Wonho are some louder groups of "fans", who may be a smaller group then they seem.

Most of the monbebes, wenees, and other fans I know seem to still appreciate and respect all 7 of them, even if they're apart. And while some may have some slightly different viewpoints about their careers and how the company is handling it, they all agree that the seven of them are grown-ups who should be allowed to freely and openly be feiends, regardless of if they're still performing as one group.

And I feel like Starship understands this, at least partly. After all, they did make Highline Entertainment. Probably as a way for the 7 of them to still be somewhat connected.

and you're right I even met lots of wenees that only support wonho as a soloist but they will respect every decision he'll make and they want him to hang out with whoever he wants. even ot6 wouldn't mind.

so about sse...heres my guessing for their behavior.

I think that the main problem is the kmbb haters that SSE doesn't want to deal with.

I know it sounds silly because if we do some math I'm pretty sure there are fewer haters than ot7 and not haters. most of the fans I met are flooded with nostalgia and just thirsting to see our boys together.

so why would SSE be on the minority side, what's in it for them?

they as company care they'll keep the fans close. (it's all about the amount right?)

what I think is that they are trying to adjust themself to satisfy all fans.

they think it's the best decision to still keep fans, not upset the haters and hide the mess under the rug.

I'm not fully sure but let's look at it from this prospect:

it's been two years and every time the guys hung out with wonho they had to apologize. like when they went to a restaurant and when kihyun apologized hanging out with wonho (etc)

that vlive a month ago that hyungwon was wearing his matching watch (he bought with wonho) and got haters response to take it off and so he did. (it seemed the staff had pressured him)

there are a lot of things like when SSE trying to deny wonho being a part of the company. (like when he practice in one of sse room and they put a whiteboard to hide the starship sign), censor him in any way, and the list goes on...

so if SSE really is planning to let the boys meat up freely someday, at least for now it doesn't feel like we're heading in that direction.

they are surely aware fans miss them. but there's no real effort on the matter.

However I wish you are right anon and that it will happen soon.

cause, as time goes on Wenbebes are divided. which leads to more drama in the fandom and it's getting me worried... (so they better act fast in my opinion)

also even tho I got excited about them mentioning wonho in the mx movie ticket It's not safe to say it'll be true. there's a chance it was a mistake (maybe they used old info) as a lot of mistakes SSE/hl is capable of.

as long as the're famous mx and wonhos relationship is something that will eventually get on the news. those rules wouldn't last forever.

and there a lot of mx wonho rebelding lately (with no apologies!) so maybe it's a sign we are close to a change more than we think who knows. 🙂
