Sorry if this is spoilers for TAT, but I was curious how Fen would deal with their darling after they find out that Fen killed their previous partner because I love the angst🙈

Depends how you react.

Fen can handle you being angry. They can handle you screaming your head off, sobbing for hours, cursing their name.

However, what Fen cannot handle is a colder response. If you pull away, Fen would likely freeze up and panic. Emotional coldness isn't something Fen copes well with, especially if you had some form of a positive relationship before you discover what they've done.

But they'd double down on trying to appear harmless. They understand that what they've done is evil... And they don't care. Fen severely dehumanized your previous spouse in their mind, so they instantly forget about them the moment they finished the deed. As regular as taking the trash out.

Fen will do whatever they can to make this 'bump in the road' go away. They'll speak a bit softer than usual, pay more attention to you (if that's even possible), try to earn back your trust. They'll try gift giving. They'll try anything to make sure you couldn't possibly see them as the person who butchered your previous spouse. I can see a timeline where even a clever MC never finds out what happened.

But you'd never see it. When they murdered your spouse, they planned and executed it so that you couldn't physically be awake via sleeping medication. So Fen is counting on that to ensure you can't fully click your spouses death to them. They're so gentle, and patient, and sweet... In the moment it'd be hard to make sense of it.

And Fen wouldn't confess easily. When asked if your spouse is okay, they'd brush it off, finding a way to redirect your attention and hope you get the hint. Even when accused directly, Fen will find a way to say something to make you feel like the bad guy, accusing you of not loving them and that you being at ease around them is evidence that you never loved your previous spouse, and things like that. They could lie and say that your spouse has moved on or lost hope of finding you. And... It will work, eventually.

I can only see Fen admitting what happened in a fit of anger. If you try escaping and beg for your previous partner to save you even when your previous partner isn't there, if you cry too often about your previous partner, if in a heated arguement you bring up that you love your previous partner more... Fen is a good natured person. Fen is calm and patient and sweet. But when actually hurt... Fen says things they really shouldn't. They got it from their father, they think. They instantly feel horrible after and give you space to process but, if things don't get back to usual within a proper amount of time they'll have to say more things they don't want to.

The Demo does feature them saying that the spouse was 'taken care of' but I'm reworking Fens character for the proper game.
