i actually didn't expect there's so many jayroses on tumblr omfg? finally my people.
anyway, still though let's be real. if rose was a white person (white man) this ship would've been more popular lmao ppl just don't like if their favorite male characters have canon female (character of color) love interests who are equally if not more powerful.
#coincidentally all of “villain” female love interests of dc superheroes are woc#mainly asian women#from talia al ghul#to jade nguyen#to rose wilson#wow#the fact that latter two are southeast female characters make me protective lol like those are my people#people whined about wanting morally grey or even villainous female characters#but they already have it#THEM#and they're treated like shits by their male love interest fandoms#but anyway!#jayrose#jason todd#rose wilson#but also#rant post#wallyslinda rants

is it me or I think there is some misogyny within the monster fandom..i mean people treat Eva and Vera as the worst people in the wolrd when I can think of much worser characters, and they boil down Nina to "a nice girl" and ignore all her complexities, symbolism and narrative importance and say "she isnt that well developed and not important to plot"
Misogyny certainly plays a role here, it's esp. evident with how the fandom treats Eva (esp. before she grew as a character; and even after she grows, it's mostly about "she stopped harassing Tenma" and her relationship with Martin, while the more important thing here (imo)—how she started to take care of herself and stopped defining herself through the men in her life—is underdiscussed).
But I think it'd be reductive to say that the way the audience sees the women in Monster is only a result of misogyny; I think a crucial aspect here is the way the female characters are written and how they're treated by the male cast.
I think it's one of the many traps laid by Urasawa, traps that are very easy to fall into (which is perfectly understandable with a complex work filled with so many characters). I also fell into them: my first reaction to Eva was "oh, here we go again, female characters written by dudes" (yeah, Monster taught me to stop yapping about shit without 1) finishing it 2) looking at it carefully, because the devil is the details).
So what exactly are the traps built of?
Cliches
Subtle characterization and/or an apparent lack of information that shows in, for example, the namelessness or very little time on screen.
The fact that a large part of the story is the lack of a story.
Ad 1. I think a big part of Monster is the way it plays with cliches (and it does so boldly; it isn't afraid to introduce us to the most overused cliches and turn them into little storytelling gems), so of course there're also many female character cliches: the love interests, the damsels in distress, the naive & clueless woman, etc.
And when you don't pay attention, it's easy to think that these cliches are everything that can be told about these characters. When we stop here, we miss so many details that reveal the more complex character behind these cliches.
Ad 2. I think Nina is a perfect example of how the subtle characterization can leave many people thinking that she's underdeveloped, irrelevant to the plot, and just an addition to Tenma and Johan.
We also don't have access to her direct point of view, but I don't think it's necessary here and I think we don't have access to it for a very good reason; women are still seen mainly as caregivers, as people who serve others, and are socialized to be nice from a very young age. This can lead to ignoring one's own needs and, in consequence, losing yourself.
And Nina is a character who fits into this role perfectly; she's often shown serving others, bringing kindness where it's needed, being a beam of hope, etc. She's also very often overshadowed by her brother; she's referred to by other characters as "Johan's sister", as if this was the most important information about her.
Heck, Johan even takes away from her the monster title; the reasons behind it are, of course, ambiguous, but it doesn't change the fact that it was her who was kidnapped to the Red Rose Mansion and it was her whose memories were taken away.
And she's clearly upset when Johan tells her that it is his story to tell.
One of my favorite examples of her subtle characterization is the fact that in the beginning of the story, she wants to be a public prosecutor, and by the end, she wants to be a lawyer. It seems like a small change, but it tells a lot about how much her worldview changed.
When it comes to the namelessness and the little time on screen, a good example of it would be Věra. Please keep in mind that we only learn about her possible name in Another Monster; why do I say it's only possible? Because the only source of this name is one person interviewed by Weber, and the person identified Věra via a sketch. I wouldn't call this the most reliable source.
But let's get back to the main topic; what's the reason behind both the lack of a name and the little time on screen? It's Bonaparta.
Bonaparta doesn't let us see much of her, he doesn't let us learn her real name. But even when we see so little of her, we can still see someone compelling and complex, we see a wide range of emotions, we see her determination, we see who she could be if it wasn't for her circumstances, we see her deep guilt and fragility by the end of the story, we see someone who Bonaparta initially dismissed ("you are a funny woman" etc.) only to end up obsessed with her.
But since it's only a matter of a few panels and she's mainly discussed by other characters as the mother of the twins, it's easy for the audience to a) see her as a bad mother, b) think she's unfairly treated by the manga.
I don't think she's treated unfairly by the manga, I think she's one of the most important characters in Monster and it isn't merely because she's the mother of the twins, it's because we can see so much of her in other Monster characters: in the nameless, the dismissed, the robbed of a better future, the reduced to a certain role, all the characters we simply do not know a thing about their minds and that quite possibly, behind the awful clichés, there were in them gardens and twilights, and palace gates.
(I tried to stop myself from babbling about Lolita, but it's not my fault the quote fits so well here.)
Ad 3. I mentioned the lack of the story partially in Ad 2., but there are so many other examples: the little girl who lives with Hugo Bernhardt, Richard Braun's daughter and wife, Lunge's daughter and wife (the difference between how Richard sees his family vs. how Lunge sees his family is shown in the narration as well), Martin's mother and girlfriend etc.
Thanks for the ask! (^人^)

Why I think Claudine would be loved if she was a female lead. (More in-depth discussion)
Claudine was a very interesting character. Up until she got the usual villainess treatment of being flanderized as a jealous fiancé who wanted Layla dead, she didn't feel like a traditional villainess in the usual sense we think of.
Before the utter destruction of her character. Claudine at most would just pick on and even humiliate Layla on occasion but not through cartoony stunts like pouring wine all over her. More like inviting her to a ball knowing she can't really afford any nice dresses. Basic passive aggressive mean girl.
She was very classy about it too and outside of making fun of Layla, she had her own life with her family, friends, Matthias and of course her very own 2nd ML Riette.
Claudine is a perfect isekai-esque villainess to transmigrate to for those reasons: a jealous fiancé perceived to only love the man for his status and treats the poor FL poorly.
But a lot of COBYB fans hate her as most manhwa fandoms would hate the resident villainess even though she embodies all the traits that were beloved, why?
Well for the first and obvious answer: perspective. We only really see the perspective of Layla and Matthias. Layla is a humble orphan girl working alongside her uncle to stay afloat, she has Kyle as a close friend and possible love interest and it was said she was going to be a teacher when she graduated. Lot of people can relate to that over a wealthy woman who was born with all these benefits she didn't have to work for. And Matthias is well..Matthias but he's the male lead and most importantly, attractive. So in the eyes of the fandom, that means he has more leeway to do what he wants considering he also has an actual past thats fleshed out.
It's also because of the weird phenomenon that is young readers finding every reason to despise a female villian while trying to excuse the male villain because he's hot or because he had a very tragic backstory. It's a problem with a lot of fan bases out there, Helluva boss, Miraculous ladybug, Trolls 3, lore olympus etc. Obviously the problem isn't that the villainesses in these pieces of media aren't being 100% absolved of consequences. The problem is how they seem to be the ONLY ONES suffering fandom consequences even though there are plenty of male villains who are just as bad or worse.
Heres the thing, while a humble farm girl is definitely easier to relate to and care about. A majority of the manhwa that we have are all centered around really rich women, and what makes these women usually stand out when they have privilege and status is their personality to get shit done and are also very intelligent. These stories are often popular since a woman who only wants to get that bag and live a lavish life isn't frowned upon as it was. Claudine fits this description nicely given that she was really only interested in being the Duchess .
Another trope isekai villainess manhwas usually have is another male lead for the new protagonist to pair up with. Usually they are a second ml, someone equally/more powerful then the og husband, or in rare cases they're just the og male lead. Claudine has Riette for that who would be a great contrast for Matthias. Matthias likes watching Layla cry, he often emotionally and even sexually abuses her and doesn't seem to care how much damage he's inflicting on her or Claudine by cheating on her. Riette on the other hand genuinely loved Claudine and she unfortunately did not reciprocate until he was KIA. So if per say this was an isekai comic where Claudine was the FL then I could see one change being that she tried to ensure Riette survives. Plus Riette would basically fill the common OI male lead role of showing off how much of an improvement he is compared to the first guy.
What else? While a little more rare, some female leads in isekai/regression will relentlessly attack the og fl or anyone with og fl traits for a really misguided/contrived reason. It's unfortunately a possibility that a character like Layla would be villianized in order to quickly hash up a new white lotus but if we go on a less character assasination route and take examples out of revenge on the real one then Claudine making fun of Layla could be something you'd be expected to root for since Layla is the "mistress" (quotations considering she didn't even want to be a mistress)
Finally, it's the in general sassy villainess attitude that would win people over if she was the glorious lead. I mean look at Reilynn from today the villainess has fun again, a literal implied pedo with an awful personality and there's a lot of people who love her and her "money makes the word go round" attitude. A less negative example is Roxana Agriche, a true villainess who has killed people and has one of the most terrifying butterfly abilities I ever saw but she's still well loved for being absolutely iconic. Hell sometimes you don't even have to be the FL, Soleia Elard from seducing the villains father was more popular then the FL Yerenica to the point where most posts about that manhwa were centered around her.
would a story where Claudine is the protagonist be a good story? Depends if it's handled well, but I still believe it would have a loyal fanbase.

Hii would you like to share your favourite fics?? In any fandoms tbh i just trust your taste a lot 🫣
oh i am an animal i don't think i have good taste i have the taste of someone who's always horny and a teeeeny tiny bit fucked in the head jcsgbhy but i'm honored you asked and i'll share<33 you said you don't care if it's more smut or more plot so i didn't worry too much about that 👍
first off, a warning: most of these are explicit, involve incest, rape, child sexual abuse, and more!!! also most of them are on the shorter side + all are male slash! you'll be able to tell based on the pairing and the concept (i'll describe them a little) so just go by common sense and, idk. beware ahaha i'll go from some pairings to assorted and then the rick and morty ones will be under the read more (i feel like i can't leave them out because some of them genuinely made me insane and changed me as a person or allowed me catharsis like very very few fics before and even though it's repulsive to most others i can't deny that. there are big favorites in there. favorites of all time if i'm being fully honest). let's go..
gcest:
ghost dancer - by the lovely and talented rye @ supersonic1994!!!! noel overdoses on coke. i looove the image of kissing your brother when you think you're about to lose him forever,, does that make sense? love is love is love when one is desperate and if it's deep then it can transcend taboos and boundaries of self and all that shit. you know
things we never see - told through jill furmanovsky, their photographer, noel comes back (after they had almost broken up and he went to san fran without telling anyone). when it comes to them i do love an outsider pov. speaking of outsider pov,
you never notice you are blind - five times alan mcgee thinks he catches something between them and one time he definitely does. it is what it is
i don't really want to know - Nawt consensual, made me a bit sad hehe liam is not sick like him
some that are like, unhealthy jealousy possessiveness dubcon angst and so on: sins like scarlet, fishhook, what am i gonna dream now
samdean:
hungry til well fed - by the wonderful bug @ deanjohn (and mandymovie)!!! iconic cannibalism fic, just so them
brighter wound - wound blood pain codependency babeyyy
take the things you love - hathfrozen is iconic also.. i loved the heaven fic (you'll find it. if you want) but i want to share this because i like how conflicted sam is about their relationship and about the way dean treats him. smutty though
manhattan for beads - what i wrote down is this is the one where they try and it doesn't work and it's heartbreaking. so yeah candle_beck can be trusted w spn, iconic too
serpent round your heart - one of the first ones i read haha ^^
deanjohn:
where the evening splits in half - bug fic also!! all of bug's fics are great do check them out if you're interested in this pairing or dadson at all, seriously.. "Sam says, "I know how you felt about the man." No, he doesn’t. He doesn’t know that Dad was a pig. He has no idea how far down Dean was in the mud with him. How dirty they both were, how much Dad ruined him."
midnight midnight - first time, dean hooks up with men so john can take blackmail pics and he gets jealous and yeah, hooray
and you learn how to settle for what you get - sex again but they're fucked up so it's always fucked up. dean never asked for it
waltjesse:
like i'm underwater - by the amazing @ kuleaxoxo!! yayyy power imbalance!! "Mister White's showing him off, isn't he?"
monaco - jesse gifts walt the watch. dubcon
i'm asking you to - rape roleplay, ignored safeword
others:
countercontrol - terence fletcher/andrew neiman, "Andrew leaves; but he always comes back. He likes to think that it’s of his own accord. But then he thinks of those paintings of staircases with the optical illusion of the stairs going nowhere except winding into each other, going the same place again and again, and ultimately going nowhere."
beach fag - roman roy/jeryd mencken, "Roman wishes he was a kid with an adult boyfriend."
the serpent under it - aaron stampler/martin vail, look i fucking love primal fear this is post-canon they get together etc. important to me
simple pleasures - edward nygma/bruce wayne, this is a big favorite i can't leave it out because when this was um coming out i was fucking obsessed. it's long i don't even read long fics
there's a head in the refrigerator - michael afton/william afton, this one's sort of self-explanatory..... i felt we needed necrophilia representation here
rick and morty:
bitter and begging - FAVE.. after the jealousy and possessiveness in vindicators 3 (the episode with the avengers copies that morty is enamoured with. who rick slaughters when he's off his shit and then covertly confesses how much he loves morty basically). this one really got me i think i cried because it's all so sad but um. full of love
that's my boy - this is the first of a series, i like that it's the start of.. the sexual abuse and they're still uncertain like i enjoy the in-betweens and when lines are crossed
love is a solitary thing - this one i love so much, it's about morty's fantasies and unrequited feelings for rick
safe - gen, morty starts talking with another morty whose rick rescues mortys from abusive ricks. i always really liked how the multiverse is like a prism? you can explore the different facets of their relationship and the possibilities and the extremes through it, you can have your characters meet their worst and their best versions, i just think selves from different dimensions are a great tool. in storytelling. and eliciting emotions. anyway rovingotter is fucking solid here
hands - a favorite.. the atmosphere... "He wonders if he'll still be sitting here in ten years, handing Rick his screwdrivers, feeling that hot instinctive rush of pleasure at knowing what Rick is going to ask from him before he even asks: bred for it."
the shape you made me - morty's stream of consciousness. i usually don't give stuff like this a chance but when i tell you that this affected me. because fuck it did affect me
the damage has been done - um..... internal cardiac massage fic 🥴
repurposed - "Is it ethical to leave the horrors of the universe at a boy's fingertips?"
and last but NOT least there's this series that i haven't read in full, just a little bit broken, that fucking killed me. tbh! i sobbed at some parts legitimately. maybe that's just on me i don't know maybe it isn't. the first 5 are crazy. admittedly alcoholism runs in my family too (lol!) and their relationship is so tragic.... this fic is about when rick quite literally stole the kid's dreams, concocted an entire plan to erode morty's love of heists and make him stop writing his heist movie script (and having any aspirations or plans outside of rick). when i watched that episode these are exactly the emotions i wanted more of.. it's madness......
#thanks for the ask 💞 sorry it took me ages haha#i haven't reread some of these in a while (or at all..) so if i find out they're bad i'll apologize later HXDGCY#ask

I feel like the misogyny in fandom is only partially the fandom's fault. Let me explain: if the piece of media you're a fan of has a 50/50 female to male ratio, and treats its female characters with the same love, nuance and respect they treat their male characters with... Obviously you have a bigger chance of having your favorite character be a woman instead of a men.
If there's only one or two women, if they're written like shit, if they're not allowed the same complexity (because they're just set dressing or because "feminism dictates female characters can't have flaws" lest they call you out) well obviously you're gonna gravitate to the more nuanced male characters. If you don't care enough to write compelling female characters why should the audience feel compelled?
Don't get me wrong, even great female characters get sidelined in favor of "tall dudes with (dubiously) homoerotic tension". But in fandoms with majority female characters/really compelling female leads, the vibes are completely different. Even if there are still assholes. A great example is the fandom of Game of Thrones vs the fandom of A Song of Ice and Fire. When all your female characters either feel the same brand of girlboss/badass or are framed as annoying/evil while most of your male characters (even the evil ones) are painted as cool and badass as opposed to having a full cast of nuanced characters of both genders... yeah misogyny is gonna happen.
So yeah, we do need to work on our internalized misogyny and we do need to point out when we or the fandom treat female characters unfairly. But we also need more stories that love their female characters as much as their male counterparts. No one has the guts to hate on the female characters of The Locked Tomb Series. Mostly because why would you read a book with a mostly queer female cast about necromancy and the awfulness of love if you hated complex female characters??
We should try to give more attention to those stories. Once you start asking "isn't it weird there's no interesting women here?" When you watch/read/listen to a story you find yourself not caring much for a lot of shows. Hell it's why I can't watch most shonen anymore and why I gave up on supernatural at some point. As a "consumer" (hate that word) I also have the option to stop caring about a show that clearly doesn't care about me (or any woman for that matter).
Does this mean you can't read Sasunaru fanfic anymore? No, but when you start a new show you might want to keep that question in mind. And you also may want to consider specifically searching out for works about women or that care about their female cast as much as their male counterparts.
The fandoms don't yearn for the misogyny as much as we think. I've seen some fandom really work the terribly written female characters into extremely compelling stories. Or write new female characters in fandoms with barely any (shout out to "Local Skate Dads Adopt Three Sons and a Hooligan" for adding like three new female characters to a show with one and a half).
Our internalized misogyny is left alone to fester in a desert, deprived of good female characters. Of course people develop an almost paraphilic obsession with M/M ships when they've been trained from birth on shows that don't care for their female cast (if they have any). We center men because society centers men. And we have to do the individual job of decentering men/centering women while also aknowledging that the people that make our shows aren't doing the job.
Also if you're reading this and wondering "what even is good female representation? What kind of show should I watch?" Read the locked tomb series. Trust me, it is a religious experience (not just for women, it has so much gender in it).
Has this all been a ploy to get you to read about TLT? Yes. I also recommend The Magnus Protocol for podcasts, and Derry Girls for tv shows. They're all so good.

6. which ship fans are the most annoying?
S.elf s.hippers no question. Granted most of them are like 13, but they're all so annoying. At what point are they going to admit they just like the way the character looks and not the way they actually are? Because 99% of them will re-write characters like M.yers or even fucking E.ddie G.luskin into being the picture perfect white nuclear hallmark family. All of them needs kids doesn't matter if they'd be a good parent or not, all of them need to have every problematic trait removed so they're the ideal partner, etc. etc. It's a big reason I have so many x r.eader tags blocked, they're all so annoying.
Not talking about the people who don't do this and genuinely, I could not care less if someone does, but I swear the most bigoted shit comes out of that community and its so weird.
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
Going to be 100% honest, I love all my G.hostface mutuals and I love all their portrayals and they are legit the only reason why I even still like him.
The amount of "uwu he didn't do anything wrong, because his dad was abusive" shit I see. How when I wrote him I got treated like shit constantly by people coming into my dms and not reading my rules to try to push ships, hell even people I thought were friends of mine would treat me like utter shit over him, it's left a really sour taste in my mouth to where I just started to hate him for a while.
Even now I'm like, yeah there's so many better characters. My mutuals though? I love all my mutuals Danny's, they make me enjoy him as a character again.
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
"We want more female killers"
Y'all couldn't even handle fucking Portia.
There's so much art of every stereotypically hot white male character in this game and a really cool pirate killer everyone's been asking for gets released to utter crickets except to bitch that shes a person of color. Yeah. Not to mention every time a female killer gets a lore update, people get so pissed about it when they're villains. Susie is popular, because people can coddle her and that's about it. You guys don't want female killers and you certainly don't want ones that are unapologetic about what they do. Staring directly at the people who never even gave S.kull M.erchants lore a chance even though her tome is super interesting.

Damn why is the HSR fandom becoming way worse than genshin? And whenever there is any controversy aventurine is always somehow involved like leave my boy alone 😭
I'm a cis straight woman okay and no matter which fandom i interact with they always look down on me and assume shit about me even though i try to be nothing but understanding I have had so many tell me that I can't like a certain male character romantically because he is only for the boys/gays. Even like when you tell them you like a certain game/franchise/anime/singer or band they're like 'you have to be queer for liking this' and for some reason they try to convince me that I'm queer even though I'm not and they think that me being cis and straight makes me 'basic' and 'boring' I love jjba, Nana, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Hsr and genshin impact but literally every fandom I've been is filled with a bunch of judgemental pricks which is sad because I was so excited to talk about my interests :( at first i thought they were being like that because I'm asian but then i realised it's because of my 'basic and boring' sexual and gender identity
and for some reason when I tell them that I'm cis straight they immediately assume I'm a white privileged woman (like i said I'm literally Asian) and i haven't struggled a day in my life which isn't true at all it's so ignorant to assume all of this about me just based off my sexual and gender identity and when I try to speak up they tell me that they're just 'giving me the taste of my own medicine' like what??? What does that even mean?? I'm not even homophobic i come from a conservative country and family but I have done proper research and educated myself on this topic and i treat everyone with respect so why can't they also be decent human beings and respect me too? I still try to be understanding but I can't stand the air of superiority among these people and they're usually under the age of 25 too because other queer people I have interacted with who are older than me don't behave pathetically like these people
(sorry this was so long you can ignore it if you want and sorry if my english is bad it's not my first language 😭 anyways I hope you have a good day/afternoon/night)
(This post is also long sorry hehe)
No cuz for real, it’s getting way more annoying in the fandom (no offense) and it’s even worse on twitter and hoyolab.
In my opinion, I think the toxicity mainly starts with people forcing to everybody that every character in hsr is queer coded and all that stuff. I keep seeing all that posts and comments that this certain character is “implied” which is not true??? It makes me wonder if they even know what the word “implied” means, cuz it basically/indirectly means that it’s canon.
I’m so done with those posts that claims “robin is lesbian and girlkisser so gtfo men” like stfu?
If you have seen the replies on tuonto’s twitter post, there’s like a LOT of people saying that. Like, hc her as lesbian if you want but DONT act like it’s canon and stop forcing your hcs on other people pls.
And when others reply to them saying that it isn’t canon and that they shouldn’t force it, they just straight up say that those people are “homophobic and lesphobic”.
I have no problems with gay/lesbian ships cuz I support all ships equally (except the illegal and problematic ones), but these delulu people are ruining it for the fandom tbh.
It’s funny that being straight/cis is seen as basic and boring now. And that part where you’re being forced to be queer is funny af 😭 are they ill?
You can like all the male characters that you like, none of them have canon sexualities and they’re certainly not canonically gay. If some person says that you shouldn’t like a certain male character cuz they’re only for the boys… then they’re ill, don’t listen to those bs.
It’s so weird that people now argue and force a sexuality onto fictional characters and just assume a certain character’s sexuality based on stereotypes (like aventurine for example) then claims that they’re a queer representation when said “representation” is just based on stereotypes.
It’s weird that a character’s sexuality matters so much when it doesn’t even matter that much, just enjoy the game and the plot? Stop projecting yourself onto them, they’re their own person and they have their own personality. They have nothing to do with your sexuality. And most of all… they’re literally PIXELS
And pls, liking a certain franchise doesn’t reflect anything on your sexuality. You can be a straight woman and like drag shows, you can be a straight woman and like BL and GL. Men can be straight and love skincare, men can be straight and like fashion/makeup. ITS NOT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND?? Just stop stereotyping people 💀

Hey! I'm Nathaniel/Spiral/Fox and i write things sometimes!
You can find me @/spiralsystem on Ao3!
This blog will mainly be posting requests, as my main fics that I'm working on will be posted directly to archive, however I'll still post finished fics here!
For x reader requests I will likely use the pronoun "you" over "they" (I just think it's fun)
HOW TO SEND A REQUEST: please send the pairing you want, any tropes or whatever (not obligatory), and pick from one of 3:
- Headcanons: a quick page of headcanon points
- Drabble: quick blurb between 200-500 words
- Short fic: 1000-3000 words
Please don't be shy with requests!
IMPORTANT NOTE: IF YOU DON'T SPECIFY WHAT TYPE OF FIC U WANT, I CANNOT WRITE IT FOR YOU.
Request types I will take:
X GN!Reader
X Male!reader
X Trans!reader
Character x character
Main fandoms I'll currently write for:
Baldur's Gate 3
911/911 Lone Star
Dishonored
Ace Attorney
Vocaloid/Project Sekai Colourful Stage
Critical role seasons 1 & 2
Dc
Jujutsu Kaisen
Genshin Impact
All For The Game
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Merlin
& Many more!
More about my writing under the cut so this doesn't get super long :)
Views on shit for writing: I reaaallly don't subscribe to the whole concept of proship/antiship. I take requests on what I'm comfortable writing.
I DO accept nsfw requests, but only within appropriate age ranges. I am comfortable writing age gaps but please dm me and i'll write something on a different site, same with any other typically "taboo" requests. I will not release a "will not/will write" list because that's just inviting problems.
If you'd like nsfw x a minor!character, please specify in the ask if you are also a minor. If there is no age, I will deny the request. I won't write underage smut for adults. I also probably won't push it past an M rating.
Minors I write for:
ProSeka: Honestly realistically most of these characters are minors, but like we don't all know teenagers aren't celibate. Vocaloids don't canonically have ages but since they're all kinda minor-coded, I'll just stick to M max for proseka.
Genshin - Qiqi and Klee, Sayu, and Yaoyao. Diona is NOT a minor, she runs a bar 🙄. Bennett/razor/fischl/anybody who uses the "teen model" I consider 18 at least.
Ace attorney - pearl, trucy. If you want ema I'll write her as her older self unless specified, sorry.
9-1-1: I'll write any of the kids as a side accessory to their parents, unless you want a Gen piece about the kids. I love writing Chris & Denny :)
Dc: Ages are played with a lot in DC, so any characters that are generally accepted as minors/adults will be treated as such. I.e: Damian Wayne, Jon kent will be treated as kids unless you specify a universe where they're older (like when Older!Jon came to that one Earth)
BALDUR'S GATE 3:
The ONLY characters I won't write for this are LAE'ZEL and MINTHARA:
Minthara: killed her and saved the tieflings. No real interest in having her as a companion so I haven't seen any content with her.
Lae'zel: get back to me when she doesn't excuse slaughtering and colonizing entire towns lol. I'm native and the gith creche slaughtering the entire temple of lathander (as. As a cleric of lathander also) and she was like 🤷♂️ we live here now. I was not cool with that. I also really don't know how to write a romance for someone who is constantly combative towards the player.
BSD: I can only write for the ADA characters + aktugawa because. I have only seen season 1 :,) sorry
Muses & character's I'm great at writing for:
Bg3: Tav, Wyll
911: Eddie, TK
Dishonored: Corvo, Outsider (and Garett from Thief 2014)
Ace Attorney: Edgeworth, Klavier, Apollo, Clay, Simon, Diego
Vocaloid/Proseka: Len, VFlower, GUMI, Shiho, Toya, Mafuyu, Mizuki
Critrole: Percy, Vax, Caleb, Jester
DC: batfam, superfam, flashs & rogues gallery, teen titans, young justice
JJK: Gojo, Nanami, Itadori, Inumaki, Fushiguro
Genshin: Diluc, Zhongli, Alhaitham & Kaveh (and 4ggravate), Traveler twins, Pantalone, Wriothesley
AFTG: Neil, Aaron, Jean

╰ * some fandom based / fandom inspired plots i'm looking to write here or on discord. if you're interested, please shoot me a message & i'll get back to you asap !
bratz . i have yasmin & sasha so would love to have a cloe & jade for a fun lil mumu. we could explore them travelling the world, being influencers, and also getting into hijinks just like in the show / movies / games. we could also include some of the supporting characters like their love interests and enemies and other friends. idk just an indulgent and nostalgic vibe because everyone was doing barbie plots not so long ago but i was always a bratz girlie and felt like i was missing out on the fun lol.
greek mythology . pretty open to ideas for this, would prefer it not to be set in a specific fandom though. i'm down for it being historical, a modern au, a fantasy style au ( think g.ame of t.hrones, etc. ), anything really ! i have a.pollo, h.ephaestus, p.ersephone, p.oseidon, & z.eus, but i'm happy to explore others depending on what we decide the plot to be. dark & potentially t.aboo themes welcome for this but not expected.
yellowjackets . right now, i'd like to do an oc plot / mumu inspired by it as i'm already a part of a canon rp for it. we could just throw a bunch of our ocs into a survival situation and see how they go or just focus on one particular dynamic among the chaos. also, i'd love to do something where we explore the different timelines, such as them while they're stranded and then them after they've been rescued or even 10 / 15 / 20 + years down the line when they've " moved on " but end up being forced to confront it all again. i'm down to include a mix of female & male muses in this, and i'd be down for it getting dark & d.ead d.ove.
alien . i'm just obsessed with the idea of a group of muses being on a spaceship for work / a new life and then crazy things start happening and shit goes south. friendships breaking, new alliances forming, paranoia and suspicion is high, resource hoarding, a lil bit of love and lust along the way. something along those lines. bonus points for token android character who is treated like trash by some of the crew, and maybe they actually are bad and the one behind all the chaos, or maybe they're good and trying their hardest to ensure the survival of the crew ( double points if there's one crew member in particular they develop a soft spot for ).
rdr2 . outlaws on the run pls !!! it can be two outlaws running from their past, an outlaw and someone they pick up on the way, or a whole gang of muses that are up to no good / starting a new life / trying to evade the law. again, would prefer this to be fandomless but with similar vibes to the game.
cyberpunk 2077 . anything !!! i just need a futuristic plot that is set in a backdrop of crime, unrest, and poverty that's covered up by ever evolving tech, garish neon lights, and looming buildings owned by corporations. a city of dreams but also death and decay. would love something inspired by v & johnny but honestly i'm game for anything.
far cry 5 . i have john seed as a muse so if anybody is down for john x deputy things ..... ??? but i also just fuck with the idea of there being a family cult that take over and control a town / county and from that, a person / group rising up to save their friends and home. religious, dark, & d.ead dove themes welcome.
baldur's gate 3 . i haven't finished the game yet ( i'm on act 3 ) so ideally nothing canon but i'm obsessed w the fantasy adventure vibes lately so a plot / mumu inspired by the chaos & unpredictability of it would be chef's kiss.
animal crossing new horizons . something cute & fun to welcome in the summer. based on a tropical island ? all arriving as strangers but forming a community to create a new home for themselves ?? relationships blossoming, businesses & services starting up, tasty lil slices of daily life ??? making our own ocs based on villagers / npcs from the game ????

As much as I find Pearlina cute in the traditional sense, I've come it dislike it in some ways, like you said.
(a) It's the designated WHOLESOME UWU ship, so its popularity means that Team Present is guaranteed to win GrandFest, shitting on our chances of getting a space-squids Team Future game.
(b) Pearl being 18 and Marina being 15 when they got together. There's nothing wrong with that, and I think there's nothing wrong with such relationships in real life. If they were 18 and 15 in the present, or if one was male, you'd be crucified for even daring to suggest they love each other. Like, modern moral panic means countless people get cancelled for dating 15-year-olds when they're 18. I have received death threats from Ace Attorney fans for thinking Regina Berry (16, tired of being treated as an infant) and Maximillion Galactica (21, the magical tboy of all time) are a sweet couple (they absolutely are, and my parents got together at the same ages). People are willing to overlook the small age gaps they go ballistic over when it's Wholesome Lesbiabs Uwu.
and
(c) Yeah, Marina is absolutely codependent on Pearl. It's actually quite sad, that Pearl is all Marina ever talks about. Unhealthy doesn't mean abusive, but it pisses me off that people pretend it's all fluffy-unproblematic. Like NaruMitsu from Ace Attorney. Edgeworth is quite codependent on Phoenix, but it's "canon", so much like Pearlina, people erase the interesting parts of it to sanitise it.
Pearlina needs more flaws. Aohota and Polycut need more fans, and Team Future needs to win.
Team Past is contrary to Splatoon's theme of life moving on and evolving.
Team Present is boring.
Team Future is the way to go.
BOLDLY WOOMY WHERE NO SQUID HAS WOOMIED BEFORE.
okay going one at a time:
a) yeah the uwu wholesome ship i totally get that. i think team present is gonna win for other reasons, or not win at all, the userbase of tumblr and people with money to buy tshirts isnt the entire userbase, remember how japan and children influence fests a LOT, and they could be the same or different so idk.
b) i think 18 and 15 CAN be okay, but it can definitely be not (see section c) . i did find it weird how pearl and marina completely dodged fandom weirdness just for being cute together
c) absolutely agree. I've mentioned before that when they met it was really bad? the homeless teenager living with some rich girl because she thought she could make money off of her being good at music. marina's obsessed with her and it might be hurting her. I still thing it's debatable that that same problem exists now, they're both into adulthood and it doesnt seem as fucked but she still is obsessive.

OF Favourites Rankings (Halfway Point)
Got tagged by @thatgirl4815 and thought it'd be fun to do but as usual I'm a bit late, as this was supposed to be done before ep 7 aired. 😅 Ah well, I'm still going to rank the characters only up to the halfway point of the series (aka the end of ep 6) so bear in mind that this was my list before ep 7 (and it did slightly change since).
Ok, let's get into the rankings, from last to first place:
7. Boston
Said this before and I'll say it again: I enjoy having Boston on my screen because he always makes things interesting and entertaining. He's just a character I absolutely love to hate. As a person, though, he is just so rancid that he takes my last spot in the ranking and I base most of that on the way he treats his friends tbh. If this is the shit he does to people he's supposed to be close with and care about, then I dread to think how he treats those that mean absolutely nothing to him. The thing is I'm usually a huge fan of characters who do bad/toxic stuff (as you will see later on in my ranking) but they need to have reasons other than their ego for it and at the halfway point I don't see that in Boston. This might change by the end of the show, of course.
6. Cheum
I have two main reasons why she's so low on this list, the first of which being that she simply doesn't have enough screentime/storylines for me to form a strong attachment to her character, and the other being that she sometimes annoys me with her remarks. I enjoyed the conflict we got between her and April but it was so brief, I wish the female characters got the same treatment as the male ones instead of feeling like an afterthought. This is actually my one major criticism of the show but unfortunately it's a problem most BL shows suffer from.
5. Nick
I sympathise with Nick but at the same time I'm also like "you kind of brought this on yourself, my guy." The way he's either blinded by Boston's sweet-talk or just doesn't mind Boston's assholery frustrates me so much sometimes, which is why he's only nr. 5 for me. That and the fact that we don't know that much about him (yet) either. I need more to fully connect.
4. Top
I feel like this is an unpopular opinion but I think Top gets too much shit from the fandom. Yes, the reason he started pursuing Mew was shitty, but along the way he did genuinely develop feelings for Mew and imo him wanting to change and settle down is sincere. I'm a big believer in second chances if people are genuinely willing to change and better themselves, which I do think Top wants. Obviously, him sleeping with Boston (and lying to Mew) was shitty and it's one of the reasons why the nr. 4 spot is probably as high as he can go for me but I'm way more lenient there than most people because he was heavily manipulated into it by Boston and then regretted it and felt guilty about it. This isn't an excuse on my part, btw, I'm not absolving him of blame, but context makes a difference for me personally. I also think his character has the potential to grow a lot and I'm a hoe for character development (as you'll also see later).
3. Mew
Same as with Top, I feel like my opinion on Mew is somewhat unpopular, especially when it comes to his relationship with Ray. Basically, I don't think he's a bad friend at all and I believe he genuinely wants to help Ray but sometimes goes about it the wrong way (possibly due to previous experience). I think his heart is in the right place when it comes to most things and he's just like... a pretty normal dude, which I appreciate. That doesn't mean he has no flaws and can't be petty or nasty if he wants to be, however. I guess my one problem with him is I sometimes struggle to see why he fell so hard for Top specifically (what was so special about Top) because we weren't really given much of a reason. Unless it's just one of those situations where you fall for someone's looks/vibes and like that they're nice/sweet to you, and it isn't much deeper than that (because that happens to people, but Mew doesn't seem like the type to fall for those reasons). Basically, I like Mew much more when he isn't with/around Top.
2. Sand
I don't even have much to say here because I literally love everything about Sand, flaws and all. The only thing that slightly irritates me sometimes is the fact that he (unintentionally) self-sabotages by not wanting to talk about his feelings, probably because he wants to appear as if he's fine all the time even when he's clearly not. Sand is also the character I relate to most. Honestly, if it wasn't for my tendency to obsess over "broken" characters who do destructive things but are otherwise not bad people (and have a huge character development potential) then Sand would be my nr. 1. But, alas...
1. Ray
Ah, yes, we've arrived to the aforementioned "broken" character. This man has more issues than all the other characters combined and it's exactly what makes him my favourite character, oops. Unlike Boston's shitty behaviour, which is driven by ego, Ray's is driven by loneliness, abandonment issues, a lack of love, the list goes on. I genuinely think he's not a bad person, but he's self-destructive (which ends up endangering others as well) and obsessive/unable to let go (particularly when it comes to Mew), which is a recipe for disaster. He wants to be loved so badly but he wants it from the wrong person (Mew) in the wrong manner (romantic). As I said before, I'm a hoe for character development and Ray's potential on that front is off the charts. I want to see him deal with his numerous issues and grow from it as a person. What can I say, I'm just a sucker for those types of characters.
I want to conclude this by saying that there are two wolves inside me: one is a Sand Protector and the other is a Ray Apologist. They are at constant war with each other. Whichever one wins a battle at any given moment determines which of the two characters is currently my nr. 1 and which my nr. 2. That is all. 🙃
Since I'm late with this, I won't be tagging anyone but if you see this post and want to do your own ranking, feel free to consider yourself tagged.
I wonder if my list will change after the series finale.
#this took some time but I finally finished it#just to reiterate: this was my ranking BEFORE ep 7 aired#only friends#only friends the series#ofts

Wow that Izzy stan anon is a stupid piece of shit. Izzy fans are racist. They prioritize the thoughts and feelings of a white (cop loving) man who has shown abusive and racist tendencies. But all of that is FINE to Izzy stans who want to woobify him because his voice is funny or whatever. Izzy fans completely miss the plot because they're too busy thinking they're being persecuted. Izzy isn't the main character. He deserves everything single horrible thing that happens to him. And the Izzy stans with their deliberate misinterpretation of other characters are going to come out of s2 looking dumb and even more racist than usual.
the thing is i don’t mind Izzy ! i think he’s hilarious. he’s not my fave character and i don’t find him remotely interesting beyond comedic relief and i wouldn’t care if he was gone from the show.
but other people do love him best and that’s fine. it really is. but it’s when they start villainizing the main character who’s a poc that i have a problem with. calling ed an abuser as if izzy isn’t also a flawed character. it’s weird because it happens in multiple fandoms and it’s time to call a spade a spade. you know what i mean?
and then telling people they’re ableist and classist for not liking izzy. it’s weird the way they will jump through hoops to victimize a flawed white male character and villianize a flawed poc character and act like we’re the problem for calling them out on it. act like we’re the problem because we notice how white male characters are treated better by fandoms than poc characters. and they try to pull the “oh wow now i’m racist because i like a fictional character.” they intentionally misinterpret what we’re saying to act like we’re ridiculous for calling them racist for liking a fictional character when that is not the problem.
like the ficticional character you like but do not dismiss the real world problems fandoms have where poc characters are treated differently than white male characters. it’s exhausting. it really is.
#anon#ed teach#ofmd#our flag means death#it’s so wild#and exhausting#and always will be#the thing is i don’t find the show to be so serious where a character gets so much hate#i really dont#i didn’t understand people who hated izzy so much cause i didn’t think it was that deep#cause i dont care about all the characters. hell i can’t even remember all the characters names tbh but i don’t hate them#i think the izzy hate was a bit ridiculous but now izzy stans are turning it malicious#their anti ed stance feels racially motivated and malicious#everytime a MC is a poc and there’s a side kick white male character people flock to the white male character#they always like the white male character better or find them more interesting or find the actor to be more talented#and then like to pretend people are crazy for pointing out how they ALWAYs sideline poc MCs in favor of the white but they wanna dickride#this show was meant to be fun and silly more than anything else#and now is being turned into this cause y’all always do this shit

Writer Interview
Tagged by @jrooc thank ya!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Only three so far! Plus art postings and I'm planning to post more in the new year
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
138,169 words which feels like a lot
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I don't have 5 total fics yet lol but their rankings are
In Your Love
Lovers' Carvings
Psychopomp
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! (usually) I try to respond when people take the time to say something nice about what I've written, because they're encouraging me to write more and I think its good to encourage people to comment/interact more
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Oh, no, I need a certain happy ending, at least in fanfiction. Yes my childhood was unstable, how did you know?
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
They all have sickly sweet happy endings, refer to answer #6
7. Do you write crossovers?
No, I don't really see the appeal personally.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not hate per say, but just some bitching from people who can understand nuance or disagreed with my take on the relationship
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, so far I have only written it in longer form fics with context, all pretty vanilla. I've wondered for a long time why smut is such a staple of fanfiction and I think that people are frustrated with writers and directors casting aside sex as an (often) valuable part of romantic love and attraction. Like, why are you giving light to affection and communication and support but dismissing the sexual component of love with a closed door, winking and nudging the readers. Thats also a part of why RWRB was such a great movie in my opinion, it treated sex as a normal and healthy and loving part of a couples story, and fanfiction does the same thing. It all ties back into sex being viewed only through the male gaze bc bodice rippers have been doing that for years, but I digress
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope! But I use a lot of really common themes and tropes so theres other fics like mine out there
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, that would be interesting.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, I would love collaborating with other writers or creators here! Either writing together, making art to accopnay of fic or beta reading one another, my only real worry about getting involved is not making deadlines, my life is busy and I like to know i can work at my own pace and publish once completed so I don't leave anyone hanging
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Honestly, Gallavich. But longest running? Zutara, I'm hoping to see a renaissance there with the new series
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I think I'll be able to get everything done, sooner or later
15. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm pretty good at coming up with cohesive and interesting plots, and I think i'm slowly becoming pretty good at getting into a characters head and writing dialouge for them
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Proofreading! Bro I will print something I've written out to review but still catch like 7 stupid mistakes when I scroll through quickly after posting that shit drives me crazy
I also want to get really really good at controlling the pace of a piece of writing, not that its a weakness per say im just not as good as I'd like to be yet
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Eh, its fine. A lot of the time I wonder who it's for though, like if you dont speak the language and just translate something through an inaccurate translator, it's not really for a fluent speaker and its not really for you
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Shameless
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I've toyed with writing a supernatural fic before. We'll see, I'm in no rush
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Psychopomp! No one else seemed to like it as much as I did but that's fine by me it was my weird little passion project :)
Share your throughs @sweetperversiongirl @stocious @mmmichyyy @vintagelacerosette

Anonymous asked:
Are there any characters from the wiki that you enjoy seeing but never get any love?
OH BOY HOWDY IS THERE!
To avoid saying "literally all of them" I really think the Laughingstock crew aside from Poppy, Percy, Janice, and Milo deserve more development from the fandom. ESPECIALLY Calvary because his backstory with the Rubber Fishes is interesting. Heartfelt is also one of the nicest characters and deserves way more recognition.
Also, just the Rubber Fishes crew in general! Don't get me wrong, I love Skin-taker as a villain so so much, cool scary death skeleton is SO cool. But I also just have a huge soft spot for all the Rubber Fishes crew because they feel like the standard campy but still intimidating Saturday morning cartoon villains in my opinion, and they deserve way more attention than they get.
This part my seem a bit ranty, but I really, REALLY wish the female characters got more attention from the fandom. A part of me can't really blame people for not being attached to characters like Lillian, Auburn, or Sariah as they either A) Weren't written as well as most of the male characters (upset about) or B) Don't have nearly as much on their wiki entries (also upset about because why does Milo get so much more detail than the woman he murdered and by default making that the only extent of her character). But like...I don't know I think it'd be cool if people spent a little more time with the gals they're cool.
MELROSE. MELROSE MY BELOVED. I LOVE MELROSE SO MUCH. I get so mad because I see people immediately hate on her, the LITERAL 11 YEAR OLD, like no other character in a story where they have a child skinning skeleton and a guy who killed his wife, crew, and abused the shit out of Percy. OF COURSE she shouldn't have treated Janice the way she did, but if I was a little kid who didn't have a good grasp on my emotions, and one day I had a loving mom and dad as well as a stable home life then the next my mom is dead and my dad is shit, all seemingly because this baby was born, I'D BE TERRIBLE AND ANGRY TOO! No joke I actually see people cut Skin-taker more slack than they do Melrose and it's kind of gross, give the kid a break man.

fjdjskhsidirba the insinuation that it was Kevin who treated Garcia like crap when she pulled some of that shit on him. That thing with the job she did, with the hacking that caused him to lose the opportunity bc she wanted him around? That was the second he should have run the hell away from Her for being a walking red flag. If a male character did that to a female one... Hoo boy. Can you imagine the uproar?
Why, why do fans of cm like to walk around acting like the ladies are the ones treating their love interests like crap when, odds are, they're being totally reasonable and the women are acting like they have the conflict resolution talents of fourteen year olds?
Garcia's talents for intimate relationships are non existent and it's actually quite a fun part of her character that the sunshine rainbow one whom is often portrayed as the loved one at home is actually just. Bad at treating people right. She's Not a flat character.
Anyway. Garcia stringing Kevin along for years without bothering to tell him she wasn't interested in anything long term was shitty 🤷 but not even close to the worst thing she did to the guy I guess, so there is that. But flip the genders here and Garcia would be utterly panned by fandom in that entire relationship and would deserve it.
Incidentally, she would also be panned in literally any of her 'romance' arcs 👀
#cm shit#the sun does Not shine out of her ass#yes i Do like garcia thank you#but i hate how flat fandom makes her#she is forgiving and kind but she's narcissistic and kind of mean#she doesn't like horror stories but feels compelled to help anyway#in short she's actually usually fairly well written#and not the usualt flat as a pancake token tech team member#and the vast majority of the time will is very much in the right or only missteps because#he assumes jj had done something she should have and it turned out#she hadn't and yeah#both jj and Garcia are nightmares but garcia moreso by a lot#jj does at least Try over and over again

the sad thing is, that made sense, because that does feel like the vibe sometimes when I'm watching shows or in a fandom. Male characters allowed to just be, they just have to exist and it's all good.
Female characters? girls, women, daughters, mothers, sisters, wives, aunts, cousins, grandmas?
They get put through the ringer like they need to prove they're worthy of fandom love but are always found wanting because the bar is suddenly raised from 'just existing' to 'too damn high for anyone to clear' when the fact is the characters themselves are really fun, or smart, or daring, or any of a dozen things but they're being judge by a different measurement.
(sorry that got a little heated under the cut, I had a bad few months in fandom a while back, and it turns out I'm still salty. I think this train not only derailed but took out the train on the next tracks, but I'm not ready to delete it.)
And then we get made to feel cringe or whatever for liking them as they are, but then we've also been forced to develop this girl-bossified language that's still a backhand across the face even as we're allegedly praising them.
They're smarter than a male character? She's a know-it-all, or stuck up, or arrogant and she'll get taken down a peg or two someday.
Or if the fandom likes her "she has the brain cell."
She's a little silly and lighthearted, or understands the importance of taking a breather to refresh the emotional bearings? She's an airhead who doesn't take anything seriously and is going to make trouble for everyone else.
She has good problem assessment and can figure out plans and allocation of resources, not to mention she knows how to network and direct people as needed? She's bossy, or pushy or arrogant again.
Everything a female character does gets taken in the worst light, it doesn't matter if a male character does it too, she's somehow doing it evilly. Women need redemption arcs just for existing in some fandoms.
And then there's this weird drive in media to create re-boots that are "feminist now"
Looking at Charmed and Winx Club | Fate: The Winx Saga specifically, where despite having all the right feminist flash-words (not that all of them are being used correctly) the shows are somehow less feminist than their originals, because the ladies aren't just characters any more, they're 'strong female characters' now, and it changes how they're being written, because they can't just be women, their womanhood has to serve a purpose, be a message, has to be something more.
And then there's the fandoms that just ignore the female characters existences all together, and it feels like a nice change of pace at first because at least no one is talking shit or turning them into harpy hellbitch versions just to justify breaking her up with her boyfriend/husband so he can kiss other boys/men. And then you realise how insidious it is, even the people who say they like the female characters actually.
Because you can't talk about them with others, you try and you get maybe a few lines of interaction before the topic is derailed. or worse:
"I like her, she's a total girlboss, and she deserves way better than her male love interest." But they never say who she deserves, and slowly you start to notice that her male love interest, the one who is in one of the fandom's most popular gay ships? somehow the guy he's paired with instead doesn't also deserve better. because they don't mean "she deserves better" or "she deserves the best" they mean "she needs to stay the fuck out of way of my ship so I can pretend to like her."
Honestly, some actually gay/boy-love media treats women and female characters better than some fandoms which are gay/BL fandoms even though their source material isn't.
Actually, the worst part about that is that bring it up? Get's you a more than zero percent chance of being called homophobic, or a misandrist.
Mind you even in the queer on purpose media, women still being treated like they're unwanted by the masses. Streaming site last year? queer filters on: Gay shows: 73. Lesbian shows: 2 webcomic collator site with queer filters: Gay comics: 213 Lesbians: 24
let me have women, let me have women who don't need to prove they deserve to exist, let me have women who are angry, or scared, or silly, or smart, or determined, or head over heels in love and let me have them without having to defend that like they need to earn their space in fandom in a way the male characters don't.
Let me love them flaws and all.
the way people treat girl characters in fandom joker-ifies me
#it's bitch o'clock#just blog stuff#i'm angry and have opinions tonight#sorry not sorry#okay a little sorry#post hijacking
