How big are the stickers going to be (+ do you have any suggestions on where to put stickers)?

Im working on sizing right now actually! Im going to try and keep all of them the same size in width (Minus the betty sticker), but the height will vary.

Heres my Flame Princess test sticker! Shes 2.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches tall. I feel like she may be too big so I may shrink her down a bit. Let me know what yall want/think!

As far as where to place stickers, i get this question a TON when im at events, as someone who always gets so scared placing stickers somewhere knowing i cant move them, I always always always recommend putting a double sided piece of tape on the back and putting them on your wall! i do this above my desk with other mini prints and it looks so nice :)

I would NOT recommend putting these on a car, they will get sunbleached. They are laminated so they can resist Some water, but if you put them on your water bottle please Do Not dishwash it!!! it will get ruined 😭

Other good sticker spots i enjoy include ipads, art tablets, sketchbooks, or you can get a sticker book!

The group will be singing: “i’m yours” by Isabel LaRosa, “Tinted Eyes” by DVBBS, “Body” by Sinead Harnett, and “FRZZN” by OZZIE (feat. Teflon Sega).

Vulpe Blanford, ballet performance

Vulpe will be performing his own modernized ballet choreograph to “Experience”, “Elegy for the Arctic” and “Divenire” by Ludovico Einaudi, and “Golden Hour” (instrumental) by Jvke.

Please use this information to plot with as many people as you would like! Employees and performers can have threads where they are working/performing and threads during their days off at the festival, if you’d like.

There is no time limit for threads, but the event will only officially last a week, so make sure to start your threads or whatever else you have in mind once it begins!

thank you for the question on my "boop omens" post. I hope you don't mind me replying in a new post, but this way I can actually add links and pictures to explain it all a bit better.

I assume that your question refers to my custom minifigures of Aziraphale and Crowley and not the custom built furniture here, so I'll focus on them...

CUSTOM LEGO AZIRAPHALE AND CROWLEY

Let's see… I started out with this set from minifigs.me that was released in 2019, but isn't available anymore:

These minifigures are absolutely awesome! Minifigs.me did a fantastic job of recreating Aziraphale and Crowley here! The full body print is really close to the characters as seen in S1. They use(d) original LEGO parts exclusively, so they did the best they could with limited hair choices available at the time, but seeing these two with the exact same hairstyle just feels "off" to me.

The shape doesn't really fit Crowley at all, whereas it works well for Aziraphale, but the color doesn't look right either. It really should be a lot lighter than LEGO's tan, especially combined with his outfit that's also mostly tan.

As you can see, Crowley is wearing his 2008 outfit with the mauve shirt that doesn't match any of his present day clothes anymore either. So I've made several changes over the years, but especially after S2.

MINI!CROWLEY

First thing I did with Mini!Crowley was to customize various hairpieces for him. Since you inquired about this picture...

... I'll let you know how I customized this hairpiece. It's a modified version of this pompadour LEGO hairpiece.

I was so excited when that one was released in 2021, because the shape is close to perfect, albeit not quite right. Therefore I added a teeny-tiny bit of modeling clay at the front to get that sharper spike/triangle (whatever you want to call it) to make it fit David Tennant's hairline a bit better. Personally I like to use Milliput Superfine for these kinds of customizations, but I guess other brands work just as well (it really depends on what's available in whatever country you live, I guess)

As for the hair color... I've done various paint jobs with different brands of acrylic paints over the years, but ultimately Crowley's hair got a coat of my personal favorite spray paint; it's the shade RUBY RED by Molotow. Of course there are other brands and choices, but I'm really happy with this one, so here you go with the final result:

As for Crowley's new face and torso? Well, I designed those myself and had them custom-printed (in this case also by Minifigs.me, but there are other companies who offer similar services, too). Once again, your options would hugely depend on where you live and how much you're willing to pay. It's relatively easy (but quite expensive) to get torsos printed with your own designs, but heads are a lot harder to get.

Of course you can use decal stickers which will save you a lot of money! Many talented people do so with really great results! I am just not a big fan of that method for minifigures that will be "handled" a lot... Since I use my babies here quite regularly for photo shoots, stickers just don't work for me.

The original Crowley figure came with a double sided head (basically the same face, but with and without sunglasses), which was a much appreciated bonus, because it provided at least one face with his lovely yellow snake eyes. However, I wanted to have a bigger range of expressions, especially a big smirk/smile with Crowley's raised eyebrow™, so I designed those myself, based on some preexisting LEGO faces and got them printed on minifigure heads!

Crowley also got a new pair of custom legs (#195) by Leyilebrick which just adds a little extra awesomeness! These legs are compatible with LEGO hips, so I could keep the hips with the printed snake belt and just use the longer legs. Yay!

MINI!AZIRAPHALE

I really wanted to have some white hair for him, so I ordered this LEGO hairpiece in white from Bricklink. Interestingly it's not officially listed in white, so I fully expected to receive some fake LEGO pieces from China. Surprisingly the pieces I got have the genuine LEGO seal and number molded on the inside, so they must be some of those very rare unofficial and unreleased LEGO molds. Perfect for the "seller" of rare books, indeed! 😉

Anyway, after a while I decided that the hairpiece was a bit too 'spiky' overall, so I cut off of some of those 'spikes'. X-ACTO knifes are a LEGO customizer's best friend, but their fingers' worst enemy, just saying! Sanding the piece down afterwards gave me that perfect fluffy Aziraphale hair!

A small but significant difference!

I've never changed anything about Aziraphale's outfit, because it really is perfect, but I NEEDED to have a face with his adorable little reading glasses. Once again, I designed that myself, but tried to keep the facial features close to the original minifigs.me figure for some continuity and then got it printed by them (along with another excited face on the backside, which hasn't featured in any of the photos shared here yet, I think).

And that's it! Hopefully there was some helpful information on how to customize minifigures?

To sum it up, customizing minifigs takes a lot of time, money, and you might get blood on your hands sometimes!

Things I almost always use/need:

Way too much time and money!

X-ACTO knives (please do your best to protect yourself against injuries here; these knives are very sharp and plastic pieces will fight back!)

Some kind of air drying clay that sticks well to plastic, can be sanded down and painted over after drying, e.g. Milliput Superfine

Patience! Modeling LEGO hairpieces is a pain in the ass and nothing for people who expect perfect results within a day!

Spare pieces! Seriously, if you try to modify a certain hairpiece for the first time, get several to begin with. You will almost inevitably ruin something on your first try, so don't get discouraged, but learn from your mistakes and move on!

Sanding paper in various grain sizes!

Paint! That is a tricky one and it took me years to get the hang of what works well and what doesn't, especially for pieces that will get handled and not just put on display. You can use acrylic paints, but the results are not always pretty or durable. If you use spray paints, make sure if they require the use of a primer first (lots of them do). I prefer Molotow spray paints, but that might just be me! Find out what's working best for you!

The usual things for all kinds of crafts: nerves of steel, a bucket for your tears, kitchen towels, band aids, strong coffee or tea, stuff like that in no particular order! 😉😉😉

Sweet Seams Ariel

Here’s Sweet Seams Ariel! She’s kinda cute and I love how her little box doubles up as both storage and a playset. The stickers are nice but I’m definitely that person that hates placing them so they’ll probably stay on the sheet. The dressing table and chair are surprisingly detailed and I love that ragdoll Ariel can sit nicely on the chair too! Another fun surprise were the mini statue of Eric and the hairbrush which store away inside the dressing table, and they’re also surprisingly detailed for such small items. The hairbrush isn’t functional but she is a ragdoll so it doesn’t need to be, I thought the fork detail on the back was fun though.

As for the ragdoll herself, it’s a shame that the wool hair doesn’t continue on the front too but I can’t be too mad about it. Two more things about her that I found strange are of course, the hands but the wide loop hand does allow her to hold the hairbrush which I think is it’s purpose. Plus, she can loop one hand inside of the other which is neat! I forgot to take pictures of her hand functions but you get the idea! The other strange thing is her tail which is hollow-feeling and I would have liked it stuffed or removable. As far as I know it’s not removable but the fabric skirt thingy she’s wearing is. When I was putting the skirt back on her I noticed that she’s got some stitching detail on her back which I really like as it adds to that ragdoll appearance.

The fabric tag is annoying as it’s really long and hangs awkwardly off her tail but I have cut it off now so it’s not so noticeable. Like it’s not a big thing but it irritates me personally (and not just with this little doll in particular, they tend to do it with other small teddies too) but at least I can cut it off easily. Anyway, tiny annoyances aside I think she’s really cute overall and I love the box/playset idea as well as the cute little details and accessories. I still think she’s pricy for what she is but to be fair, there are surprise toys with a lot less to offer that cost more, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t want to collect all of them but I have got my eyes on the Megara, Tiana, Marie and Tinkerbell so at some point I’m going to go back and see if there’s anyway I can work out which one is which. I’ve noticed there’s a shell picture and a printed code on the bottom of Ariel’s box but I can’t remember if that was visible through or on her packaging, so I’ll have to investigate! 🔍

Bullet Journaling | My Life in a Notebook

So I got a couple of questions about my bullet journal today (and I have gotten a few throughout the past year or so). So here a bit about my planner history and my current bullet journal.  Nobody may care but here you go.

Here are all my past (and current planner):

I have been planning in some fashion like this since at least 2014.  I used to use a coil planner from a company I am not naming.  I used that for about three years.  And while using those, I discover planner stickers and sticker kits.  So I used sticker kits and did “no white space” planning.  But that planner was big and heavy and didn’t serve my life.  So I loved the idea of bullet journaling because 1) I could do what I wanted and 2) I could draw and use fun pens and pencils and be creative. So since about 2018, I have bujo’d.

Here are all my bullet journals:

Each notebook hold about six months.  But I like looking at pretty things.  So I started buying cute icons.  And washi tape.  And before you know, I am back to using full blown sticker kits.  And by now, people were making stickers with foil.  And down the rabbit hole I went.  My bullet journal is so a point of joy for me.  I love looking at it and smiling at how pretty it is.  So I spend the money on pretty things for it. 

Supplies:

- Notebook:   I currently use an Archer and Olive journal.  They are not cheap but they usually go on sale every so often.  You don’t need a fancy journal. There are dot journals at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Walmart.  I started off in Leuchtrumm and then used Scribbles That Matter and the last two are A&O.  But any notebook will work.  

- Pens and Pencils:   Again, any pen/marker/pencil works.  I current use a Pentel Ener-gel Clean .5 in Black.  PaperJoy gel pens are popular.  So are Sharpie Pens, and Muji Pen.  Find yourself a pen that doesn’t smear.  For the brush lettering I use a Fudenosuke by Tombow, they have hard and soft tips.  I also have the Tombow Dualbrush Pens that can double as watercolors.  A great cheap option is Crayola Supertips, which I started off with.  But again find something you love and use it!!

- Washi Tape: I sometimes love washi tape and sometimes I hate it.  Washi tape is paper tape and that is removable without damaging paper.  You can buy it at Walmart, craft stores, Amazon, Etsy, Ali Express.  

- Stickers:   You don’t need stickers to make a bullet journal work for you.  I like pretty things.  So I use my discretionary income on planner stickers.  They give me great joy.  I buy both full kits (I often buy mini kits or B6 kits based on the size of my notebook).  I also buy functional stickers (label stickers, scripts, little bullet dotes, icons).  And I buy decorative stickers because they are pretty and are often foil so my planner shines.

What I Track:

I am a simple hoe.  I do a weekly spread, I usually create a monthly calendar, I track some things for work.  I have swatches of my Tombows, swatches of my washi, a grid cheat sheet for dividing pages evenly, my fic tracker, and a tracker of my closet, bill tracker, year at a glance.  Lots of people track habits monthly.  I put it in a weekly tracker.  Honestly put in it what you will use.

Resources:

- I watch a lot of YouTube videos of Plan with Mes with planner girls using kits and what not.  That is how I get inspiration on how to layer things and what is out there and how to make things pretty.  I also watch haul videos.  I shouldn’t but I do.  They are super enabling.  When I wanted to learn brush lettering, I watch YouTube videos.  I watch people setting up bullet journals.  I am a research gal.

- I also follow a bunch of planner girls and bullet journal accounts on Instagram.  Huge inspiration.  Here are some of the peeps I follow on IG and YouTube:

Most of my washi tape is either from Simply Gilded or TheCoffeeMonsterzCo. Hobby Lobby has great selections (if you have one)

How to Save Money:

-Don’t buy everything at once.  Start small.  See what you like, what you don’t.  No need to break the bank right away.  You would hate to buy everything and then not use it!  I have bought things I won’t use because I was like “ooooh sparkly.”  

- See if printables work for you.  Printing and cutting stickers yourself can be way cheaper.  Just an option

- Look for ways to try things out or buy smaller amounts.  This is especially true with washi tape.  Tons of shops on Etsy sell washi tape samples.  A lot shops have sampler sheets.  

- Look for coupon codes and sales.  Planner stickers are always going on sale.  And shops almost always have a coupon code on their IG account.  They also have PR peeps who have coupon codes too and it often means the shop throws in an extra freebie.  Black Friday is huge. Follow shops on IG.

- Don’t worry about keeping up with the Joneses.  I have been planning for a long time.  And this style gives me joy.  I have been building this collection for years.  I have pretty much narrowed down what I love.  And I have the money to spend (I haven’t been spending money on gas or eating out!)

But for me my bujo is a piece of art and a little bit of beauty in my chaotic world.  I hope this helps someone.  Love you and I am always willing to answer questions about my bullet journal or where anything in particular is from.  Love you all!

I had a dream that I got myself a shapeshifting Nicki Minaj makeup set as a birthday present. I just got home from a long trip and impulse-purchased the makeup set at an airport duty-free shop. It was pitch black outside and felt very late at 9:30 like when you are a little kid and feel 9:30 is late. When your time is controlled by someone else, staying up late feels like a luxury. I’m not sure how old I was in my dream, since I travelled alone but still felt as though someone set a bedtime for me. 

The makeup set was a mystery box from the newly released “Nicki Siren” collection, which was mostly mermaid and sea-themed clothes and accessories. It cost 900 dollars, but the crushing sadness of being stuck in an extended layover on my birthday and the Fear of Missing Out since it was the last Nicki Siren set in the store compelled me to buy it. It was the volume of a shoebox. Top-down, it was square and slightly taller than it was wide. I opened it in my bedroom. The cardboard box was white with dark blue gouache-like writing and the front of the box had Nicki’s face in the corner wearing a pearl and seashell studded tiara and a teal wig with a surprised expression. The overall mood was bright, fun, and unusually unsexy. 

Inside the box was a teal plastic cube with gold accents. Inside the cube was custom light blue bubble wrap flecked with gold glitter. Under the bubble wrap was a 30-inch gold chain necklace with pearls at 3-inch intervals and two huge clamshells hanging off it. The clasp of the necklace had an 8-cm long flat silver pendant in the shape of a fan coral on it, studded on one side with tiny white crystals. Upon closer inspection, it wasn’t a real chain and instead gold beads fit together like a chain strung onto braided teal leather. The information packet in the box under the cube said the beads were 20-ct gold-plated sterling silver, the clasp pendant was cubic zirconia and platinum-plated sterling silver, and the pearls were cultured. 

Despite being quahog type clams, the clamshells had the color and texture of a teal turbo snail shell. This is biologically impossible and I assumed the shells were fake or some weird manufacturing technique was used. Luckily, the shells could be removed from the necklace. which made it much more wearable. I was worried about the shell toggles being right on the pearls, since pearls are fragile, but the pearls were extremely slippery and couldn’t be scratched. I spun the clamshells around the pearls until I got bored. The shells were hinged containers. The smaller clamshell I could close my hand around and had 13 loose non-slippery pearls in it, while the big clamshell was the volume of two double cheeseburgers, extremely heavy, made sloshing noises when shook, but couldn’t be opened. 

The giant clamshell also had a big rectangular magenta sticker on it, which looked very good against the teal shell. Peeling the sticker off, there was product and copyright information printed directly onto the shell, which was ugly as hell and the opposite of normal giant stickers.

When I gave up on opening the giant clamshell, I noticed the necklace chain had grown a cigar-like steel tube around one of the pearls. The tube unrolled into a 3-inch-long hamsa charm with a cloisonne enamel design of white birds flying over fields and forests on it. I went downstairs to get a string and a chair. When I hung the hamsa on the ceiling fan in my bedroom, it started bending again and the birds had left the forest and were now flying over the sea. Although the design changed, I never saw the birds or the hamsa move.

After I got down from the ceiling fan, the pearls were sprouting like seeds, growing into cubic zirconia pavé coral like the one on the clasp. Unlike the hamsa I could see them grow and change in real time. As an experiment, I pinched one of the sprouts until it broke. The broken sprout withered until it disappeared and instead of faceted gems set in perfect prongs, the pearl started producing cloudy industrial accident crystals and twisted wires, before slorping it all back into itself and turning black. 

I felt bad about that and grated a block of parmesan over the pearls to atone. I had to clean cheese out of the prongs afterwards but it felt like the right thing to do. I noticed the coral was “eating” the cheese calcium crystals and growing little pearls so I put them back into the cheese and by the time all the parmesan disappeared, they were twice as big as the original with a seed pearl at every place the coral branched. When the coral pendants stopped growing, the pearl “eggshells” crumbled into powder and flowed back into the little clamshell, which grew a mirror and became a highlight powder compact. 

I looked back in the box and found a little redwood box taking up the remaining space. In the wood box were sheets of stickers made of dyed suede leather, more cubic zirconia, and metal foil. I put some on my phone case and decided to cover the product information on the giant shell with stickers because it looked so bad. This caused the big shell to open. In the shell was a bottle of “Cali Coast” Nicki Siren perfume, a mini lip palette, a mini eyeshadow palette, three tubes of mascara, a teal lipstick, a magenta lipstick, and a sea salt bath bomb. There was a dent in the shell the exact size of the stunted black pearl so I put it in and closed the case. When I opened it again, the black pearl turned into a pearl-handled powder brush.

I looked up the makeup set on the internet and there was a #NickiSirenChallenge on instagram where people bragged/commiserated about what they got. Always, the pendant on the clasp was some kind of immobile sea animal like an anemone or sea pen or sea star and there were always two teal turbo-patterned bivalve containers, like scallops or oysters, one big and one small. The necklace also varied from choker to floor-length, some with real chains, some beads set with larimar cabochons, some with solid gold chains, some with no metal and all natural pearls. Instead of stickers, some people got sample-size vials of different perfumes, keychains, silk scarves, or vouchers for free Nicki Siren clothes. One in 150 makeup sets had clasp pendants with real diamonds and solid platinum. 

To open the big case, you must cover it in stickers, put a key on the keychain, wear the scarf, or redeem the vouchers, depending on what you got. The big case always contained normal makeup and the little case contained 5-30 pearls which turned into different things depending on how you treated them, usually more makeup if you broke them, jewels if you didn’t. It was discovered breaking pearls before they sprouted turned them into applicable products like face creams or nail polish remover. Breaking pearls after they sprouted turns them into tools like nail files or lash curlers. Naturally people cared more about the pearls than the makeup even though it’s technically a makeup set. 

The little case could turn into anything with a hinge, usually corresponding to what the pearls turned into, like my compact and brush. Most people got jewellery boxes but some people got phone cases. 

There was a small chance of getting a bonus animated lucky charm. Someone got a clear resin horseshoe with a functioning ecosystem of malachite seaweed and peanut-sized copper sea urchins in it. Someone else got a palm-sized glass nazar which changed eye patterns before fading to a solid blue disc, then a brass goldfish would jump out of the center of the disc (not literally, it was a flat sheet of brass embedded in the surface which was etched using perspective to make it look as though it were leaping out of the nazar) before falling down, creating ripples that looked like an eye again. Another person got a blue faience ceramic Egyptian fish amulet that changed poses like it was swimming and sometimes moves to different rooms by itself. There were only 20 lucky charms in the world.

In one video, a pole dancer did a routine to Nicki Minaj songs and opened the box on stage. She got vouchers for a cameo in a music video and an entire free outfit. When she pulled the necklace out of the box, the strands of pearls just kept coming and when she turned the box upside down, the stage was engulfed in pearls like a giant shimmering mop.

In another video, someone poured Veuve Cliquot champagne on their case pearls and they hatched into huge round life-size faceted topaz sea apples encircled with braided gold wire instead tube feet, sprays of diamond-tipped gold as feeding tentacles.

Someone was able to score a rare full size Nicki Siren SuperBase foundation tube and she made a video where she applied the foundation, then complained it didn’t match her skin tone. The foundation immediately darkened to match. Later she made another video proving SuperBase foundation was like holy water because it could be refilled with different foundation but still be the same no matter how diluted it gets. SuperBase was the only product that behaves like this.

Someone ran over a case pearl with a Ferrari and it exploded into an 80-piece skincare set. 

I felt bad because aside from the hamsa, I got the second cheapest versions of everything. But as I scrolled through instagram, I became grateful that I didn’t incur Nicki’s wrath. 

Someone bought ten Nicki Siren sets and when she opened one, the stickers were paper, the necklace chain was that weird golden alloy that turns your skin green, the clasp pendant was a lead picoroco barnacle with a giant chunk of plastic for its beak, the small cockle had two pearls in it which turned into another lead barnacle and a sea salt bath bomb, and the big cockle had 8 sea salt bath bombs in it. When she tried to open the other boxes, there were more boxes inside and the boxes grew as though they were being put into more layers of boxes. She resold a box to someone else and in it was one of the rare larimar necklaces and a plate-sized bronze disc with the face of Medusa molded on one side and a shifting mosaic of an ancient Greek harbor on the other side. Consumed by greed, she kept opening the boxes until they were the size of refrigerators. Nine boxes in her garage, she now parks outside. She makes increasingly desperate unboxing videos and with every update her comments are filled with “i can buy a box for $3k dm me i’m serious” and “Ma’am. Please give up.” and “pouring out my superbass foundation for u when u cant fit in ur house ne more LMAO”.

Someone smashed open her big shell instead of opening it properly and it was filled with moths which followed her around eating her clothes. 

An influencer who infamously bugged Nicki into giving her a free set for promotion was crying next to a 10-foot-wide crater in her house because she broke all the sprouting pearls in her little mussel case and the pearls became so heavy they broke the table, broke through the second floor, broke through the first floor, broke through the foundation, and sank into the earth. Then the little mussel turned into a 2001 flip phone and Nicki called her through it and said she was a “fake-ass copy-ass jealous-ass bitch”. She still wore Nicki Siren eyeshadow in the video.

Someone lied about getting a lucky charm for clout and it turned out she strung sea-themed Pandora beads on a mass-produced dreamcatcher. After she redeemed her voucher for a silk dress, when her big freshwater oyster case opened, there were 8 sea salt bath bombs in it and also moths. The moths ate her new dress.

There was a news article about the finder of the resin sea urchin horseshoe being banned from casinos because it increased his luck in gambling but most importantly made his bets on horse races always win. Since the hamsa is a hand, I assumed it would make me unbeatable in card games. 

There was also a news article about German material engineers trying to get as many Nicki Siren pearls as possible to study their previously unseen anti-friction properties. 

Not to be one-upped, Megan Thee Stallion announced the “Hot Girl Eternity” line of hoodies, t-shirts, and booty shorts which will allow the wearer to be immune to fire, heat, and radiation (hoodies), conjure flames (t-shirts), and absorb power from things they burn to add to their own lifespan (shorts). Even though they have yet to be released, it’s already impossible to get Hot Girl Eternity hoodies because they have all been preordered by hazard area workers and x-ray technicians and also stans. 

I think in my dream all rappers are powerful enchanters because that makes the most sense given everything that happened.

First time meeting

It was the second day back at school. Nico wishes he could have been there for the first but his flight back from italy had been delayed and there was no way he could make it. Not to mention that he’d had a bit too much complimentary champagne on the way here, afternoon drinking, he scoffed. He thought he got it all out of his system in his college days. But, his college days were far behind him. College Nico wouldn’t be caught dead in anything that wasn’t black,red or littered with skulls and crossbones. He looked down at the faded black and white baseball tee he was wearing that said draw. paint. Create. on it and frowned, at least he kept some of his old aesthetic. He was happy with his clothes and even happier where he was, even if he’s breathed in enough paint fumes to border toxicity. He had his sister, he had his students, he had his very convenient complimentary parking sticker.

He also had his hour-long break to do whatever he wanted.

That sounds like heaven but it was put in place more out of necessity than their consideration for the brunet. He usually spent that time cleaning up the art stations and picking pencils and paint brushes off the floor. Not great for his back but in his four years teaching here he’s learned that slipping on said items is the greater of two evils. Today being the first day was a free draw day so there wasn’t much to do besides pick up pencils and papers. Once he righted his classroom his mind swirled with the endless possibilities. He could swing by the coffee shop around the corner, he could pop upstairs for a bit to bother Hazel, he could laminate name tags! The last idea made his heart soar. Coffee, then name tags he reasoned, then grabbed his wallet and dashed out the door.

It was the second day back at school and Will was already in full swing. He’d been so excited to get back to it that he’d been doing lesson plans since August. He’d flown back in from Texas just a few days ago, with a cleared mind and an amazing tan he was ready to get this started. Each little table had an assigned color with five little name tags around it. Today and tomorrow would be get to know you days, the real learning could start on monday.

“Alright guys!”He said holding up a hand, “who wants to be my special helper and pass out these papers?”

A chorus of little voices chanting ‘me! me!’ rang through the classroom and he laughed lifting another hand to silence them.

“Okay okay!”he giggled, and scanned the room. “I saw Fawna-did I say that right?”

The little girl nodded happily and he continued addressing the class, “I saw Fawna sitting patiently with a quiet hand so Fawna gets to help right now”

The class immediately erupted into an organized objection but he held up one finger and the room fell hushed. He had a three strike rule, if he had to raise three fingers and the class still wasn’t listening they wouldn’t sing a song that day.

“I pinky promise that all of you will get to be helpers this year. We’re gonna be together for ten months, that's a long time”He said with wide eyes, the students mimicked his shocked expression and nodded along.

“That’s longer than forever…”a student said in awe.

“It’s longer than two forevers”Will said, “Hold on Fawna, let me just count these papers”

He quickly ran the pile through..then again...then a third time and pulled a face. He knows math isn’t his strong suit, but he was way off.

“Was wrong Mr.Solace?”A student asked.

“It seems that I made a mistake,”He said.

“A mistake!”The students gasped, he pulled another face and they giggled amongst themselves.

“Alright you silly billies, you heard me! I’ve made a mistake!”He cried and placed a hand to his forehead. The class laughed harder and he finally broke character to laugh with them, maybe he should thank Apollo. Drama classes did come in handy.

“But being serious it’s okay to make mistakes, even adults make mistakes”He said, the same look of awe crossed a few students' faces. He hoped this wasn’t their first time hearing this, but the said truth is that it probably was.

“Is okay as long as you fix it, right?”Tommie asked.

“Correct!”Will exclaimed, “It’s okay to make mistakes as long as you fix them and learn from them”

Maybe it was a little early on in their lives for them to get the complete message but he would drive this point home before they reached kindergarten.

He crossed the room and opened the door to the conjoined classroom across from his. A few whispered words later and he was addressing the class again.

“So”He said, “Mr.Solace is gonna go fix his mistake and print more paper for you guys. Mrs.Mack is next door if you need anything, I won’t be long”

Will left the room and practically raced down the hallway to the copy room. Mrs.Mack was strong but his students were stronger. If he spends more than ten minutes they’ll have convinced her for an early snacktime and to watch the lion king. He looked through the window of the copy room and smiled victoriously, it was empty. Oh he’s gonna have copies for days.

Will left the copy room with triple the paper and double the satisfaction. He may have hooked his phone up to it for activity sheets and he may have made extras of said activity sheets. But whatever he did was his business and he was pleased. He looked up and for a second his brain short circuited. His feet stopped moving and the papers in his hands went tumbling carelessly to the ground. Before him there was a man he’d never seen before, was he a parent? Oh god Will hoped he wasn’t a parent. He had olive skin and black hair and the prettiest eyes Will had ever seen. And he was bending down, why was he bending down? Will’s brain immediately kicked back into gear and realization and shame flooded his being simultaneously. He was staring and this handsome man was cleaning up his mess. He immediately dropped to the ground and scuttled about trying to hide his face and be efficient.

“I-I’m sorry about the mess, you don’t have to worry I got ‘em-”

“Relax”The man said, his voice sounded like an aria, “it’s my free period anyways” Well that made Will feel even worse. He wanted to stress the matter but he bit his lip and continued to scoop up papers. His face was bright red with shame, burning from his neck to the tips of his ears.

“Hey”The man said softly, “It’s okay, really. I’m the art teacher, I’m used to picking up papers, it’s kind of my job”

“I’m Will, Will Solace. I teach the preschool class down the hall”He said and despite the rosiness in his cheeks felt a smile tug on the corner of his lips.

“Nico Di Angelo, it’s a pleasure”Nico said and handed Will the mini stack of papers in his hand.

“Likewise”Will said and graciously accepted them. Nico Di Angelo, god did his name have to sound like music too?”

Before Will could book it back down the hallway, that sonnet of a man began to speak.

“Will”He called out.

“Yes?”Will answered.

“I think I'm teaching your class in a period or two,”He said. Will nodded and as he walked back down the hallway he swears he saw a sparkle in those dark eyes.
