Okay yes it's romantic and over the top and completely in character and very very impressive that odysseus made a bed out of living trees. However all I can think about is that every single day Penelope and odysseus would have woken up with olives and leaves covering them.

#Jay does this thing on second dates where he tests the other person#he wants to make sure they'd like all of him. every part of him that may throw others off or realize he's insane#Matt and Jay were friends during high school. dated in college and broke up just before finding out Jay was pregnant#they decided to co-parent Mona and just view one another as friends#Mona really likes Don and Tk. loves Peter. though dislikes Lucy quite a bit because of how much she hears Jay complain about her with Matt#Mona is very close with Jay despite living with Matt and only coming over to Jay during the holidays/some weekends#Jay moved into the complex about a year prior to meeting Peter. he's had 5 roommates since moving in#Lucy has been the worst compared to the rest but is the only one Jay tolerates (since she's young and reminds him of himself. pretransition#Jay and Don hated each other in the beginning. only really bonded over talking shit about a neighbor#and Jay saying “anyway I gotta finish watching the game.” Don saying how he wanted to too but his tv is fucked so they watch together#Tk does have feelings for Jay but Jay just can't take the hint. he simply just thinks he's making jokes and is very kind#Jay really cares about Lucy. he often checks up on her when she's out and buys her dinner if he didn't make anything for them#and she ofc tries to make his life easier by cleaning the apartment making him coffee in the mornings etc etc#also Jay and Don sometimes just talk about marriage. how both of theirs didn't work out (I headcanon that for Don)#how it'd go - Don: I just wish I showed her how much I cared... Jay: I chased mine down with a knife. didn't kill her though. Aka I kinda just assume Harry and Louis are happily chugging along in their life together because I am of the belief they have a healthy, loving relationship and they are no longer at the point where they need to signal/showcase they are together as often as they have been 🤷🏼♀️

I recently asked my mother what it felt like that she was becoming a grandmother at the same time that her sister was becoming a great-grandmother and while my mother is not the sort to engage in the kind of open hateful shit-talking that I am, it did feel great to see her trying to structure a diplomatic answer when in her head I know she was like... doing victory laps for having the least white trash children.
"Our families were just structured differently" yeah, Mom, I bet they are. That's why the 19-year-old daughter of your sister's spoiled rotten idiot son got pregnant after dating this dude for a month and a half, and because she's a shining example of maturity, she and her baby daddy named him Wesson Smith.

#this is not perhaps a surprising statement from me#but it still very much holds true regardless of being expected#I miss it so much and I wish I remembered it better because I really want to integrate my selfship with clio back into it in real-time#but I keep getting muddled up when it comes to pinpointing what actually happened when it happened#(this is primarily because of the staggered story updates and also the wiki not cooperating but)#I don’t know I just think it’s really cool when real events or quest releases can get tied back into the storyline!#so I want to be able to do that but I don’t have the knowledge required to pull it off properly! and that makes me sad#heart of the void#selfshipping#in some senses#of hearts and friendship (kingdom hearts)#of lux and daybreak (union x)#but also#selfship: of flowers unchained (clio/aria)#which is what I am trying to integrate#like for example: I want to say that aria and clio met in july 2019. this is because that’s when my friend and I joined the sapphires#and clio was supposed to have already been part of the sapphires (even though I didn’t create her until after KHUX went down)#and I also want to say that aria and clio were already dating by the time the keyblade war broke out and clio escaped with the dandelions#the trouble is is that.. the keyblade war *event* quests were released during september 2019 (so only a few months after our first meeting)#but the keyblade war *story quests* could have been *years earlier than that* because of the whole chi vs. unchained x vs. union x stuff#and it’s all just so aaaaaaaaaaaaaah

i also think the fact that i had such a stunted and isolated upbringing and now that im an adult all my friends are on atypical life paths (and honestly even my friends as a kid were like this too) means i find things that are usually very common life stages really interesting. like knowing someone who has a house and a wife and 2 kids (with that wife) and a job with a salary feels like meeting fucking paul bunyun to me. or hearing the kids i work with talk about graduating high school and going to college and being on a real path with that stuff is neat? or even sometimes knowing cis/het people who are like going thru that coming of age stuff that i never really experienced the way you see it in the movies bc of transness/queerness/neurodivergence. its like woah they said the name of the thing in the thing. do u know what i mean???
#this actually reminds me of one of the girls at work whose been here for 2 yrs so i feel like im watching her grow up#shes graduating hs this year and shes really smart and she always asks questions like this#like picking ur brain about your life like 'what did you feel like growing up how was your family' etc#its kinda cool#she already got a degree bc of dual credit courses and an internship lined up and im so proud of her#and theres another girl her same age who came to me last night telling me her situationship just broke her heart#and they were both talking all about their prom dresses and all that stuff and were so excited last month#like idk i guess i just find it endearing#i think part of it is also that while these specific paths are thought of as common/default#there really is so much variance in life and really truly so many people not on those paths for so many reasons#which actually does loop around to making it seem strange#like truly how many people do you really know anymore who stayed at 1 job until they rose the ranks#who got married and had kids with that person and now they live in a house in the suburbs with some dogs and cats#like who does that anymore#meanwhile i think its just cool seeing kids actually experiencing growing up but in retrospect and not as a peer feeling confused & jealous#like woah youre a girl buying a dress and getting her hair done and texting a boy thats so wild ive never done that#or woah youre taking courses to prepare for college and know what degree youre going for#i no longer feel resentment that i felt left behind during all that shit when i was a teenager#im just happy for them and proud of them

Y'all. My family is a fucking blessing.
#my dad went out of his way to pick up a 'cheap' headlight assembly for me#and I doubt he'll let me pay for it when I limp my car down to him#(this wind adding pressure to the front of my car on my commute home is ROUGH)#(I just cannot take it higher speeds until I get the front end bolted up better)#my brother is pulling together the transmission cooler lines and tool needed to change them out#and will help me get that all put back together#I had to go out to my car during break today and it was just a ... puddle around my car#like the snow is melting; the ground is wet - made it look worse than it is#but I'm not going to be able to keep it going this way for long#called a trusted local garage and was quoted 500 for the lines and labor and I just ... can't ... do that...#my usual mechanic lost his house and garage in a divorce#but my brother is certain he can do the transmission lines#I still need a front end alignment too but that's been a long standing problem#from last year when my suspension completely went out and I did the tie rod myself#I'm just eating through the brand new before-suspension-problems tires and ultimately an alignment is cheaper (and safer)#it's an older car and it's been through a collision now#this really is all peanuts in the grand scheme of things#it's a trustworthy as fuck kind of car#I'm just super broke and it's getting worse every year as inflation gets worse and I get no raises#the car is worth it#I've just been putting it through hell
