Hiccup once again being extremely relatable when he's struggling to understand how he's supposed to respond to Astrid's frustration. Just straight up asks "what would you like me to say?" Honestly...people should just say why they're upset or what they want you to notice. And tbh I felt like Astrid was a little out of character in this episode. I feel like it would have made more sense for her to be upset but she would keep it bottled up inside because she *didn't* want Hiccup to notice.

I understand where Astrid is coming from, but I strongly believe that what Hiccup and Astrid have is stronger and more stable than Dagur and Mala's relationship - not just because they've known each other longer, but because I just think the fact that they're comfortable with each other is a better indication than the life or death intensity of Dagur and Mala's attraction. That intensity is going to lessen at some point and if they don't learn how to adjust after the rose-tinted lens honeymoon period, things will not go very well.

(hence the dysfunctional dagur/mala dynamic ive referenced briefly before in a fic and that I will focus on in more depth in other fics)

Pride proceeds the fall… yeah Dragon and Crocodile are good dads. But maaaybe a little unprepared when they have a super secure non-ambitious kid. Dragon made damned sure his kids (once he is actually the one doing the parenting) know they don’t need to impress him. And Crocodile, with his pride and maybe IRONICALLY a bit more eager than Dragon to decide that some of his earlier struggles were material circumstances/other people (he did nothing wrong in transitioning it was everyone else’s problem, etc.) is eager to use his own wealth and connections to set his kids up for success, and to take them *seriously*.

The kid likes chess? Baba will get whatever paperwork done to get that kid in the junior leagues. None of HIS kids will be unrecognized for ANYTHING they can do, won’t be passed over in ANY judgement. Not the dad pressuring the kid to be a scholarship professional athlete, the dad who makes sure his kids are always on the team or in the league that gets looked at for professional development opportunities. If his little girl is doing engineer-level math he is making SURE she is getting that recognition and education.

…which eventually leads them to having at least one adult child who is perfectly content with everything they’ve already accomplished and don’t particularly see a need to improve or seek out *new* accomplishments. They were X champion 3 years in a row, and Y champion 2 times and won 4 awards in Z. Thats enough for them. Theyre as good at X, Y, and Z as theyre really interested in working to be. Retiring at 20 sounds pretty good to them.

He'll get them to school, he'll react to every interest a kid exhibits (if Luffy said "I want to play the violin" you can bet he'd get the best violin on the market and the best tutor shipped in to Goa only for the violin to end up in a dusty corner because Luffy wants to dig around in the garden instead). And if the kids want to set out to sea he'd offer to buy a ship, hire a crew, bribe whoever marine to look the other way, etc. *lol*

The tower of terry scene actually went through in one take, surprisingly. Ron kept going off script on accident and total awkwardness but it actually made the whole scene more complete.

Jodie and glenn arent siblings irl but they get on so well like one even out of acting due to their vastly different methodologies. Lots of fun sibling banter. I hc that jodie just looks like jimmy irl but more cop and buff looking.

The deck of many things episode with the reaper was probably really fun to film with all the effects and stuff.

The FREAKING PYRAMID. Of course they had to film that within the studio but they built a couple of steps for them to stand on. They actually got a water jet of apple juice in the studio. 2/4 of the dads got sick after filming that day.

Scam likely irl is a funny cool uncle archetype. His other roles involve wizardry and funkiness so this one was right up his alley.

I want a couple of shots of just the cast members breaking out in laughter after a particularly insane set of lines. they take SO many shots just to finish filming that scene. Bloopers my beloved you will always be famous.

Paeden bennets and Walter aren't acually related in real life but i hc that the kid playing Paeden is also an orphan and Walter irl adopts him in after filming and developing a bond with each other. Paeden being a giant zombie was probably fun to film like he would make jokes about how small everyone is even though its just cgi and dude is still tiny af irl.

I would like to think that the game at balls deep stadium was filmed at an actual nearby stadium that they rented out and they got to play an actual game of football after all of the shenanigans of filming.

Yeet bigly is actually disabled in real life, both of his lower legs are prostethics and made the attachment to skateboard pretty cool even though it took many, many tried and attempts to not fall flat on his face with some lessons from Nick on how to skateboard.

Glenn's trial arc of course took place in a real courthouse and they made a lot of ace attorney memes and bloopers but also ouch emotional damage. When Glenn read the script about the meth bay prison arc he was woah kinky

Erin o niel is a pretty cool and chill lady who does in fact love nature and would take walks to feel her role out. I hc that she was supposed to die at first during that library fight but she was so popular they overturned the script and look how that worked out for the better.

so the idea im brewing rright now is that

airell isnt a necro before leaving the jungle. they trave;l, they reach the grove, they meet caithe and help her out, caithe thinks that airell could replace eyris as a valiant so shes like hey maybe you could get magic tested, maybe you have affinity for something

and yeah they tuurn out to be necromancy-leaning so they start learning at a necromancy master in astorea and ho boy

at first theyre like but isnt this a very obvious disrespect towards the dead and death itself?

and the master necro is like only if you commit these forbidden acts. by making minions of random body parts like this you are not actually hurting anyone!

but airell was necer good at creating minions, they couldnt even put life into minions prepared by the master, so they instead practiced how to control deatrh magic, how to reach for its source, and how to absorb life force from things without destroying/killing them

in the meantime, airell meets trahearne. and they do NOT click. trahearne is frustrated. he found airell good looking until that idiot opened his stupid idiot mouth.

airell caithe and trahearne go to do some personal story bullshit together. and caithe, being caithe, sees that these two work good together. so she starts convincing trahearne to taking airell as an apprentice. two birds with one stone. trahearne has company and is safer in orr, and secondly, they get a new valiant to replace the one that ran off

and here came a question about airell's canon spec

in game it's reaper. i used to run this deus ex machina build on them but it was nerfed. tons of dmg + healing in shroud. basically unkillable murder machine so, i used to think it was reaper because they used greatsword but then i thought "bow. necrobow. they were taught by the itzel, why would they use a greatsword" then i thought 'ok, staff. the necro master gave them staff. and it worked! but airell went back to bow as soon as they got in orr, because they knew this weapon the best. but i still think they would be a reaper. their prefered fighting style was always get in shroud -> kill them with summoned weapon. airell's weapon of choice used to be four swords for all their shroud-hands (back when i hang out with akura) but now i think theyd get just a greatsword or the scythe, idk, because now airell cant use shroud anymore

last time they used shroud was in EOD during fight with soowon, and before that, in POF when fighting balthazar

in POF Achilles noticed that the more Airell transformed and the longer they remained in the shroud, the more of the dragon features would stay behind after getting back to normal. so he suggested airell stoped going into shroud until it was absolutely necessary, or else one day they might not be able to get back to normal.

when a being such as an elder dragon dies, a lot of magic is released. yes, it goes out into the world. but as airell was supposed to be mordremoth's champion (in a moment i will send you this crazy family tree), they can feed on magic.

so when zhaitan died, they absorbed it and their chest cracked because their body was not ready to get so much juice. they went down with a horrible fever afterwards and were sick for days. if it werent for them being a necromancer and thefore being attuned to death magic, theyd probably have a nasty indigestion too. the crack widened again when mordremoth died and airell was in a blighting pod.

so airell is attuned to death magic and plant magic

pl;ant = life so we get this lesser elder dragon of life and death. (they dont know. they learn of it only in IBS. jormag tells them)

anyway, this death and plant attunement is a double edged sword. on one hand, as a lesser dragon, they have a lot of life force + they have better control of it (still cant make minions though…..) so they are quite powerful! but…

they cant easily digest other types of magic. so after balthazar, they happily eat that fire magic. just to throw it up because they are not attuned to it. they get physicaly ill from eating wrong type of magic

so the void doesnt just make them lose their shit, it makes them physically ill too.

yes. of course. i love having autism. i’ll organize it in a little list because otherwise it would be 26 pages of me talking about nothing

General point things:

- all (non-pure) points have a mask with their point on them. they’re like fused to their face or whatever. i wanted it to reinforce the theme of identity, and the points having used to be people before this.

- the pure points are all based on an object. passless is a roll of film, morward is a crystal ball, yawgate is a star gate, and voixer is a crack. it was originally unintentional, but after designing morward and yawgate i realized it would be awesome.

- points and how human they look generally connect to how closely they feel human. in my mind the points shapeshift based on their state of mind. it’s slow. you can see it best with ulipse and ixol i think, since those are the two who i feel are the most other-ed by the other points (mainly cyalm) for the majority of the game. i think the only one who doesn’t really follow this rule is arrolin, but yknow what arrolin can be a dragon bc they are awesome.

- color pallets were mostly limited to a point’s gradient and symbol color. There was def some shifting for the more neon points (why does arrolin have to have such a bright red and green bro) and accent colors were added for others (ulipse is all purple/blue basically. i’m not cursing them like that)

- a lot of aspects are inspired by other designs. the pure points esp were directly inspired by gaycyalm’s pure point designs. because they are AWESOME !!! i don’t remember who inspired what for most other points so uhm woops

shallare:

- unfortunately not a lot to say. they’re a very basic design. prolly my most basic.

- they’re just a mechanic i dunno what to tell you.

- though, the one detail i like is their background on their apron.

- i was going to redesign them at some point, i had a few sketches. the main difference was that they had a prosthetic arm that was like cobbled together and powered by a big ass battery on their back. it’s awesome. maybe i’ll draw it again idk

signol:

- unfortunately also one of my more basic designs. neither of these two have much to work with personality wise. which sucks. i love shallare.

- they have an outfit associated with jazz. the buttons on their outfit are their symbol. not much else to point out sorry 💔

compale:

- ok this one is actually fun

- compale a outfit is inspired by inuit clothing. everything about is almost taken from it directly, in fact.

- the thing that hangs from compales waist that i can’t remember the name of has part of a compass, and is supposed to represent the north star.

- i will be so honest i didn’t realize anything about compale’s symbol changed in their true form. i thought their gradient just swapped. and that’s why i didn’t design a true form for them. wooos

ploque:

- besides the obvious woodworker things, i think the only thing i can point out is that they have a saw shaped hair tie and that’s awesome. sorry ploque fans

anshine:

- obvious angel motif, shares a similar halo with the angels themselves

- anshine is FAT and a TRANS WOMAN!!!!!! because i LOVE THEM!!!

- like genuinely anshine and maynot are number 1 trnasgenders. i really wish that in the game about identity that we got at least one person who was trans. because why wouldn’t we.

- i wanted purposefully to stay away from the mayor outfits other people had on their anshine designs at least partially for this reason. and also because i feel like it’s a bit silly ascending your city into Actual Heaven and then Not getting a sick outfit change.

- anshine is the only other character i’d say breaks the ‘relation to humanity = how human you look’ rule, because i didn’t have it in mind yet, but i think the idea of humanity itself changed over time for them thanks to seeing humanity literally evolve in front of their eyes

ulipse:

- ok. this is a big one.

- ulipse has a lot of goat theming (boots and horns being the main part). this is mainly due to how i bee ulipse as having a low self esteem and in a way demonizing themselves to the point where they literally show ‘demonic’ features

- ulipse outfit is representative of how close off they are, you can’t see much of their body and they wear clothes that are loose fitting so things like their arms are hard to make out, They’re hard to make out

- i didn’t have reference of how the pre-points looked as i was designing the points and i thought umbra had a pony tail, which inspired the smoke thing on ulipse’s head

- ulipse’s true form almost literally has them breaking out of their shell. they show a lot more skin, their hair is taken down, truely another Transgender™️ moment

(fun fact: apparently me and voixyy (i think that’s how you spell their name) had the same idea when it comes to ulipse’s horns. i don’t think we were inspired by the other but it was really funny looking at the wishing stars au blog and seeing just Mh Fucking Guy)

mino:

- i don’t like my mino design that much. i will be truthful. i like mino a lot but they’re prolly the most boring design of mine.

- main inspirations were lego and r15 roblox characters

- mino is teeny because it would make it easier to reach into the small spaces in their machinery. and because it was funny.

- i don’t draw it often but mino has a whole gaggle of gadgets they use to make communication easier. mostly screens that project them that move around near eye level and drone like things (similar to dr.egg man ig) that carry them

arrolin:

- obviously took a lot of inspiration from a specific chinese outfit which i cannot remember the name of at this moment

- i deliberately avoided giving arrolin wings because the chinese dragons i had seen never had them and i wanted to remain accurate to that. they can still fly tho. because they deserve it.

ixol:

- so let’s start off with the fact ixol’s a freak

- they are the person who is most disliked in the emporium by a long shot, for mostly sound reasons.

- over time being isolated from like. living people and abstract beings being your main company. i think you’d get fucked up too

- i think ixol is really the only point that can shapeshift when they want. i think it’s a good way to represent how ixol’s mind is ‘broken’ or whatever.

- they do use it just to fuck with people. btw.

- they don’t use the normal form i had drawn them with in the original reference like. ever. it was mostly just to fuck with the 2ss.

- i wanted at one point to redesign ixol. or like reimagine what parts of them look like because god. they are a little boring. but i for the life of me could not figure out what to change. this id just the perfect ixol in my mind i guess

naen and solgon

/ they get to share this because they’re boring and i don’t like them

- i know someone pointed it out when i first showed off their designs. but on they’re little belt chain things solgon has little power up charms and naen had 8 red coins and a star. because i thought it was funny

- these two took the most inspiration from other designs. because i don’t like them and i had no clue what to give them.

- i very intentionally avoided any kinda ‘money hungry ceo’ or ‘super fancy rich guy’ aesthics that i saw other people have. because naen. doesn’t do that???? like they’re just a cashier idk where people get the idea they have the money to afford fancy clothes. bro is paid minimum wage

- both of them do try to look fancier then they actually are tho. mainly in their matching top hat headbands.

- solgon has a bunch of punctuation littered across their design. idk why solgon has punctuation in their background but it gave me Something to work with so i’ll take it.

yawgate:

- as i mentioned before they were inspired by gay cyalm’s design (and are the pure point most heavily inspired)

- was an object before being an object was cool

- fingers are very much inspired by peridot of steven universe fame. cause why not

- i really like my yawgate but i don’t have much to say about them,.. i sorry 💔

morward and passless:

- they get to share this one not because i don’t like them but because they have a grand total of 10 text boxes between them

- these ones took me so long to get right bro. it was so bad.

- passless’ body was based off those old baby dolls, the ones with the plush body and like porcelain limbs and morward’s is a lava lamp

- they are very much supposed to contrast each other as much as possible due to the past/future theming. passless is round and morward is sharp. morward is a skinny fuck while morward is a fat fuck. you get it. they are like mario and luigi only cooler

voixer:

- man i mean they of the hour

- i went through a lot of iterations when making voixer. originally they were going to be based on an ink bottle instead of a crack but i couldn’t figure out how to do it in a way i thought fit them well.

- i’m still not entirely sure about the crack idea either. but i really cannot think of anything better of them.

- i wanted to make sure their true form literally showed the piece of cyalm they were forced to have in them.

- it’s like a self made mockery

cyalm/celesteal:

- this bitch

- so the main point of cyalm’s normal form is to lure the 2ss into a sense of safety. like cyalm is someone who can be trusted without a doubt

- the bath robe is supposed to be kinda hiding their actual clothing, though you can still see it despite how (poorly) cyalm tries to hide it.

- unlike the other points also, you can see the strap holing cyalm’s mask on.

- cyalm’s second form is mainly just a transition between forms. not much to say unfortunately.

- celesteal.

- based mostly on fencing outfits, meant to look as different from cyalm as possible. any stars that were on cyalm’s outfit are replaced with their symbol. bc really it was all about them from the start.

- in my mind celesteal’s mask is shattered after the first phase. hence, showing off what they really look like

stratosfear:

- i leaned very heavily into the scorpion theme because god they really only used it for the tail. their outfit is directly based off scorpion anatomy

- they have a bunch of scars across the entirety of their body meant to represent the weird slash things on their af1 design

- i totally didn’t realize strat was Blue when designing them. i thought they were like fully grey. but i like my design too much to change it.

bonus things (guys that aren’t points or aren’t in af2 but i wanna talk about anyways)

red x:

- as you might have noticed cyalm doesn’t follow the pure-point rule of being based on an object. dont worry! church+stained glass window be upon ye!

- i planned at some point to mess w/ celesteal’s design to be more in line with red x, but i never finished it. it’s sick tho trust

verfextion:

- i don’t like how verfection was planned to be in vain revival. i think having a second stratosfear would’ve been boring and it would’ve contradicted the fact cyalm was the only person who could turn people into points

- my version of verfection is a 2ss who feels like they have failed, running away from the points and hiding their identity so they don’t have to face their mistakes head on. when the possibility of cyalm returning comes they are quick to make sure that they don’t fail again.

ok so new au post bc it went haywire after the horses

so, all might has to be in a hospital for a while after the fight with all for one. this is a v secretive hospital where u basically have to be a hero, a politician, or heinously rich to get into. coincidentally, there is also a person who is both heinous and heinously rich who decided to send his son there.

ironically, doing the exact same thing that nana shimura did w her own children for exactly the same reason (otherwise what? trust trubasa with his kid?). izuku is kind of sickly, which is hereditary, and quirkless, which is also hereditary. all for one, father of the year, has a dragons hoard of quirks, including passive ones which just increase health. he weighs his options and without asking izuku (of course), figures hed be better off suffering the short lived pain of quirk transmission than suffering the long term pain of a crazy weak immune system.

after doing this, he sends izuku to the best hospital in the country to recover so, in the timespan where hes fucking up all might, in case anything goes awry (which it does). he also uses a quirk to change his eye and hair color, and remove the freckles.

so izuku has an illness nobody really understands (bc its a symptom of forced quirk transmission), but hes a tiny fucking trooper and the whole hospital loves him. hes a tiny ball of sunshine who talks like a little adult but stumbles on the adult words and gives nonsensical advice like kids do, but a little scarier

All might is in a kind of tucked away corner of the hospital that people arent supposed to go into, but izuku gets away with everything (historically) and loves to explore, so inevitably izuku ends up in toshinori's ward. maybe the door's open bc hes recently woken up or smth and the nurse is in there and this man sees a fluffy little dude w them Big Ole Eyes peeking in from the hallway. izuku skitters away after a short scolding from the nurse but ofc he returns later to talk to the thin man w the intense blue eyes whe looks haunted

at this point in life, izuku has encountered a lot of people who look haunted and hopeless, whether while around his father or at the hospital. he likes cheering them up. in a way, its selfless, bc he doesnt expect anything for it. but its also selfish in the way a child is; he wants them to smile for his own self satisfaction rather than bc its actually helping them. hes a bit emotionally stunted empathetically for obvious reasons

all might feels like hes lost all hope and thinks he could probably never use one for all every again. izuku thinks calling something impossible is just giving up on it. theyre both wrong but they help each other and grow together and become very close.

(unrelated but all might does not give izuku his real name. izuku asks and the first thing that pop into his head is captain america, the movie he watched before his shit got rocked, and steve was added into his glorious hall of monikers)

its also assisted by the fact that since izuku has come to the hospital, his father has not visited him even once, despite promising to. all might has never met izukus father *cough cough* but his impression of him already isnt very good. he gets so attached, despite telling himself thay he cant get attached bc look what happened to nana, right?

all for one gets his kid back many months later, when his brain damage is repaired enough for him to be awake a few hours a day, and his adorable mischievous child is going on and ON about becoming a hero. whoever 'steve' was, all for one was gonna beat their ass.

kisses you on the mouth id love nothing more than to spread hate and infodump abt demonology. let me preface this by saying ive never watched any of their content so i cant speak on much besides what ive absorbed via osmosis of being on the internet and what i can see in their designs

so my special interest has always been on the 7 Princes of Hell aka the 7 Deadly Sins so thats what I'm gonna focus on. I'm also gonna bring beloved otome game Obey Me into the mix for another example of modern interpretations of them. also keep in mind im not a believer in these figures, though my research comes from both christian and pagan sources, i just like them a lot

so lets start with Mammon, the prince of greed. mammon is always depicted as a very money and power hungry kinda guy. in heaven, he was so obsessed with the golden pavement that they kicked his ass out first. hes super powerful and has 6,660,000 demons under his control that he makes build the capital of hell called Pandemonium. im not making this up demonology is silly as hell. hes associated with wealth, gold, jewels and emperors.

you may be surprised by this interpretation from the dictionaire infernal, but from my understanding/perspective, i believe this is supposed to be a lure to get more money as a begger? normally hes described as decked out in robes and gold and jewels and all that. but you can see in the illustration the bags of money.

so yeah hes like a super money hungry emperor type- in my mind i always kinda think of trump ngl. power hungry, money hungry, you get it. so if youre like me, for a character design, youre thinking a ceo with lots of expensive clothes and jewelery.

now, lets see what our friend viv has to say-

... they made him.... a clown? keep in mind, i literally know nothing abt the role he plays in the show, but... why? why is he a clown? if anything, him being a jester is the opposite of the typical emperor depiction. like a king vs a court fool. completely erases the whole idea of his greed for power. part of that greed is that he already has it but he wants more! this jester angle doesnt make sense.

okay, now lets look at obey me. theres a lot of things i dont like abt obey me's interpretations, but theyre so much better than vivs.

first of all, the white hair and blue eyes are actually accurate! the colored illustration above of begger mammon is actually colored wrong, hes often described as having very light hair and icy blue eyes. this interpretation of mammon, while yassified from the old man and the emperor, is fairly faithful. hes obsessed with money, hes constantly stealing money from other people, he wears the most expensive designer brands, and he has gambling issues. its not perfect, but hes clearly based on the demon mammon.

now Asmodeus. asmodeus has always been my favorite. hes the Prince of Lust, but he himself isnt horny. he teaches people Forbidden Arts and Crafts and also geometry, hes a disabled king (walks w two walking sticks), he likes messing with people and he hates the smell of fish liver. one time he threw someone 400 leagues and stole his identity. what a guy

asmodeus is particularly monstrous. hes got 3 heads, a bull, a demon, and a ram, hes got a duck bottom, and he has a dragon cat service animal. i think hes beautiful <3 but you can see a lot of potential symbols you can incorporate into a design! all these animals, esp his three heads, are just waiting for a cool design. so vivs, whatd you do?

... okay. hes... kinda got the heads, but its the cowards route. he has... that weird ass body that vivs loves to give men. theres... some feathers so he kinda has bird symbolism? im pretty sure he owns a casino, which is actually accurate. but like. thats #notmyasmodeus. this guy couldnt throw me 1 league if he tried. hes not monstrous looking at all. his legs are thinner than my patience.

since we couldnt really dissect viv's mammon, ill bring this up here. a big issue i have with these designs is that theyre afraid to make demons ugly on purpose. dont get me wrong theyre all ugly as hell. but not gross. not monstrous. these sanitized tumblr sexymen designs completely betray what makes the original designs so fun. asmodeus doesnt have 3 heads, he has one that looks like an evil sesame street character. the design is simultaneously trying way too hard and so fucking generic. literally if you take out the two tiny head motifs in his... hair? theres no indication that this is based on the demon asmodeus

okay, lets look at obey me.

again, hes sanitized, hes conventionally attractive, and he doesnt have any of the demon asmodeus' symbolism. hes also super horny. he doesnt do geometry or arts and crafts or even own a casino. not faithful to the source at all.

before you accuse me of being a hypocrite for liking obey me, hold on. let me get through beelzebub.

Beelzebub is known for being "lord of the flies". its literally what his name means. i cannot emphasize enough that he has fly motifs. he is the Prince of Gluttony, aka overindulgence. its typically associated with food. but beelzebub is *extremely* powerful. in Paradise Lost, hes Lucifer/Satans right hand man. all other demons respect him immensely. hes supposed to be so powerful that summoning him is supposed to run a high risk of seizures and death. he also fucking loves architecture. when a ton of demons were called on by solomon to build, the other demons were so appauled that beelzebub was being made to do manual labor, but his crazy ass was giving solomon building advice

hes a bug! hes big beautiful bug. the crowd cheers. so the motif is kinda obvious here. i mean, its kinda hard to miss it, right-

so. lets address why i like obey me and i hate vivziepops interpretations. first of all i just fucking hate vivziepop so jot that down. but more importantly, obey me doesnt pretend to be anything it isnt. its a dating sim. of course the characters are gonna be hot and fit into archetypes. ive made my peace with that. besides, the game actually makes their sins pretty interesting by showing how they affect their personalities, motivations, relationships and lifestyles. its not super faithful, but its not supposed to be.

but helluva boss isnt trying to do that. from my (admittedly limited) understanding of it, its supposed to be a dark comedy gritty adult animation. the characters are supposed to be questionable and unconventional because theyre literally in hell. so i ask the question: why are they so afraid to lean into that with their character designs? why does everyone have to have barbie proportions? why is no one (purposefully) unpleasant to look at or monstrous? its sad to see a creator trying so hard to make something thats supposed to be graphic and brazen in its depiction of hell and demons, and yet is afraid to actually confront the conventionally unappealing aspects of the source material, or even touch the motifs of the demons

i love the 7 princes of hell. if you want to read about the strangest characters with the oddest stories, symbols and trivia, go read some websites about them. none of it makes sense. lucifer and satan are the same person but also not and sometimes the other 5 are also the same guy. belphegor is in love with paris and is the infernal ambassador to france and has a toliet wheelchair. satan is depressed. lucifer is sometimes depicted as an whiny brat child and sometimes as a humongous terrifying beast. leviathan does jack shit and just boils the ocean and eats boats. its literally so much fun. also please feel free to add onto this! demonology is fun in part bc theres so many different interpretations and facts from all over the place that make it a wild ride

tldr: vivziepops designs are lazy and unadventurous when it comes to their source materials

🌹 What’s the first genuine fight Rook got in with their love interest about? How was it resolved?

hakim and neve fight a decent amount, their main big early one (at the cusp of their relationship like. being one lmao) was about hakim not being upfront about the fact that he grew up in tevinter as a slave before being a raider + lord of fortune. (i think its kinda like, how the dragons/crows are harsher on you because youre supposed to look out for your people and you left to go help the other. he's not a shadow dragon but it's like, something super important about his life he didn't tell Anyone until the slip up with taash and then on top of that that retroactive feeling of betrayal cuz its like, you of all people then should know what the venatori rising + losing shadow dragons would mean... it's layered.). it kind of fizzles out a bit on its own though cuz thats how hakim and neve's fights usually go, i think? they get to the point they both are yelling or something, one of them realizes what theyre doing or says something stupid and the tension falls apart. theyre both just not great at being upfrot about their feelings so they gotta yell a bit and move on. (they dont usually get like super nasty/personal/etc its just. High Feelings that burn out quick)

hakim and lucanis don't really get into many fights until after the endgame i think bc the stakes finally arent world ending enough that they can let whatever they wanna fight about be an issue. i think. either its about illario or after an encounter with caterina. i think hakim gets super frustrated with the way lucanis can be with her and hes tried to be understanding about it but its like. he's not had any functional/longterm relationships before and seeing someone he cares about struggle w the circumstances of all lucanis' family + crow shit really gets to him. and considering hakim's whole like, live freely by your choices mentality, he just doesnt really get a lot of it. so i think either they argue about some shit lucanis didnt speak up on to caterina more than once despite hakim knowing how he feels, orrr theres also just the whole. mess of hakim having previously had a thing with illario. that ones complicated cuz hakim does Not like illario and thinks hes a piece of shit and lucanis doesnt exactly have a jealous streak but i just feeeeeeel like. whenever it is they finally have a big fight post-endgame some of the illario stuff comes out too on both ends.

i think neve intervenes and talks to them both individually. they both have to take a few days to cool off and then feel really bad about everything and apologize a ton. (probably lucanis goes to bring him food as a peace offering just as hakim is coming to bring him some cute small gift like smth for his knitting or an apron or smth wyvern themed.) this is not the last time this happens ofc but its not very frequent at all.

in general ig all corners of the relationship are rly good at empathizing with the other but neve and hakim will do it like mid-fight and then lose momentum but lucanis and hakim both get blinders on a bit and it takes a couple days to set in and sort things out

drew a little smth for this, but hakim likes being on the coast, somewhere he can watch the ships take off from the docks. sometimes he'll find a spot on a rooftop watching the docks in treviso or dock town in minrathous, but there's a lot of little things there that don't quite hit the same as being back in rivain... there's a sweet spot of quiet and busy the air is + the sea smells a certain way. so if he's got access to an eluvian, he'll make his way to the rivain coast (preferably the southern coast or even an island bc thats what he actually prefers but he takes what he can get.)

I went on a thrift "spree" today aka. I spent like $10 at goodwill. and I went to some other stores. But I have a handful of toys i got recently and today to post :3

This group of stuffed animals isnt from today. In fact, they've been sitting in the car for a bit. The two stuffed animals I got today need some quarantined time (especially one of them needs to go in the wash); the snake here, too, needs a wash in particular.

The beaver we got back in Iowa while picking up my sibling, and i actually made them buy it for me lol (it was $1); I mainly wanted it because it is a large stuffed beaver and i thought that was funny. It has a bandana that say "Honey Creek hotel and conference center"; the paper tag says copyright 1988 and the fabric tag says produced 1992. I assume this guys been sitting on a shelf for 30 years rather than having been played with by a child.

The dragon and snake I found at a thrift store in West Virginia. I've simply not seen a snake plush at a thrift store (yes, ever); the dragon seems to be a nicely put together Walmart plush and the snake is Wildrepublic (they manufacture a lot of snake plushes). The snake is a bit dirty on the bottom, but I think a touch of spot cleaning or even a trip through the wash will help.

Now for something completely different: the dolls I found today. I see a fair amount of cheap plastic dolls at thrift stores, but this one spoke to me. Specifically, her oversized dress spoke to me because i immediately thought about how i could steal it for another project. Sorry little lady!

But honestly, she seems very cute. Blinking dolls like this sometimes look kind of eerie but she manages to be very cute, i like all her eyelashes and her thick eyebrows. NGL i would be down to try to put her head on a completely new body someday.

I also found a couple of very different dolls to go with her....

The redhaired one is a FailFix doll, and she came in a bag with a little NaNaNa doll.

The FailFix dolls are these ones who had an extra "ugly" facethat could pop off so they could have a makeover:

Mine doesnt have shoes or earrings and you can tell her previous owner didn't clean up or brush her hair. Perhaps they had a different Failfix doll who they took the accessories and stuff for. Her face paint, despite being the "non fail" version, is still kind of odd and her lips are a bit misprinted. Anyways, what I really like about her is the inset eyes so I'm going to redo the face. i got her partially because shes got both her hands- theyre prone to falling off with dolls like this...

I'm not sure if this NaNaNa is also supposed to be Tuesday Meow- her skin is tanner but her underwear says MeowMeowMeow and her motif seems to be cats. Her face looks oddly small next to my other NaNaNas, and not just because I gave my Tuesday a new face- it seems to be printed smaller? Anyways, i um. might steal her clothes and (very ratty) hair and then use this doll for... doll experiments. Sorry miss meow.

I have no particular aesthetic I seek out for dolls, and I get most of them from the thrift store, so I have a pretty... funny line-up at the moment:

I don't find Barbies particularly compelling- the only one I have is my childhood Dorothy for a reason. However, this thrift store had a whole shelf of like, late 80s-early 90s style barbies. I liked this one because she has nice articulation at the elbows and knees, plus she's got a cute face. They all had nice soft hair too. I definitely found these more interesting than a lot of the modern barbies I see.
