haven't listened to any musicals in a while, but some of my favourites are

jekyll and hyde: the gothic musical thriller (and i am talking about the concept album, that has anthony warlow interpreting jekyll and hyde. the official on-broadway album is kinda meh imo)

so like. the producer of the musical was disappointed in the original gothic novella written by robert louis stevenson (the strange case of doctor henry jekyll and mister edward hyde), so they decided to make a musical about it, adding thier own vision, some new characters and subplots etc etc, while still following the main plot

main plot that is about Henry Jekyll, a silly doctor that wants to separate the good and evil from one another, hoping to eliminate all evil in the world in the process. while his intentions are good, the results of his actions aren't as good <\3 there's more to it, of course, but silly spoilers i guess- tho i can tell u more if you wanna, just let me know!

as for favourite songs we have i need to know, lisa carew, board of governors, bring on the men (tw suggestive), alive and the girls of the night

Like her name implies, she's usually the chill one - like a calm river.

After Sebastian's trial, she pursued forensic science in her career field.

She was a major theatre fan in high school and even as an adult. When you hand her the AUX chord, she plays show tunes. Notable favorite musicals: Six, Wicked, Fun Home, Moulin Rouge, Prom, and In The Heights. But there's a multitude of more. (Sebastian missed all of the 4 Horses of the Apocalypse: Hamilton, Heathers, Dear Evan Hansen, and Be More Chill while he was gone and that is crazy to her.)

She's married to her wife, who is also a lawyer! (Possibly had helped the Solace family gain a larger settlement for Sebastian's innocence post-death sentence?)

Speaking of her wife, Sebastian was gone when gay marriage was legalized, but since his sister came out to him way early on, he's more surprised that gay marriage is legal than his sister being gay herself.

She doesn't live with her mom anymore, but when Sebastian was brought up, she knew she had to be there for her family.

She knows the most Spanish among her siblings since she had to help their mom translate. She and her siblings are the second generation of a Chilean-American immigrant family.

Gabriel Solace

He appears much more normal next to his siblings, but if you look in his room, his special interests are A LOT more apparent.

As a kid, he always liked to build things - He enjoys taking things apart and putting them back together. That being said, he loves Legos, Beyblades, Transformers, Gundam, model planes, etc.

He is the casual anime fan of the house. He likes mecha, but he can appreciate a good show he can put on in the background while he assembles what he's building.

His music taste is much more diverse than his siblings, but his taste includes more Alternative/Indie and Electronic Dance Music. Notable artists: Mitski, The Living Tombstone, Chappell Roan.

He does introduce his music, shows, and movies to Sebastian.

When his name is shortened, it's "Gabri" (pronounced "GAHB-RI") over "Gabe".

Thanks to the settlement they acquired from Sebastian's revised trial, he goes to engineering school! His side project is making a body for p.AI.nter.

not to "and another thing" some bitching i was doing literal days ago but i'm still thinking about my beef with found family fic (which usually, in practice, just means a really corny big friend group where everyone is so so nice to each other and gives each other therapist approved advice and is so so accepting and inclusive even when that doesn't really make sense for the canon characters in question and they all just hang out in a big happy group all the time and any conflict either comes from external sources OR is immediately calmly talked down by the designated mediator of the group). and i think there is a certain level on which you have to think - and i'm saying this as a certified #lonelygirl - that a lot of it is the very clear wish fulfilment of lonely (usually queer) teens and young adults who wish they had a huge healthy friend group of other queer teens & young adults who they could hang around with all the time sitcom style and who always supported each other and never got into any drama that couldn't be easily resolved. like i think that is the driving impulses behind things like les amis modern aus, marauders fics, those teen musical crossovers from like 2018-19 where all the be more chill and heathers and dear evan hansen kids were all besties, etc, and i do always feel the need to check myself on that front when i'm getting really really mad about that trope. DAZAI THEORY!!!!!

So, seeing that my theories have been getting some attention, here's another one!!

So, Bungo Stray dogs season 5 started and ended all in the month of September of 2023. After that, they said aren't getting any more content UNTIL 2026. That was enough time for me to think of a bunch of theories like:

Will Sigma join the Armed Detective Agency now that the Decay Of Angels are defeated?

Will Poe also join due to the Guild disbanding and him constantly helping out Ranpo?

If Aya grew up, would she join the Armed Detective Agency?

What will Bram, Nikolai and the rest of the Hunting Dogs do now since Fukichi and Fyodor are dead?

Is Tachihara alive, a vampire or dead?

But the one I want to talk about right now is our loveable and heavily simped over suicidal maniac,

Osamu Dazai.

I know this post will be a bit long but hear me out!!

Is Dazai going to re-join the Port Mafia? Think about it!!

In Season 2, episodes 1 thru 4 shows Dazai life in the Port when he was 18. When Odasaku is speaking to Mori about going after Mimic's leader, Mori says, "in four years, Dazai would have surpressed me and take the position of heaf of the Port Mafia." And if you do the very simple math: 18 + 4 = 22. Dazai right now currently is 22. But wait!! There is more.

Mori has asked Dazai not once! But twice to come back to the Mafia and even offered him back his position! We have also seen how many times in the ADA they leave out Dazai, even a clip on the Manga where it shows everyone and they say that everyone is here despite Dazai not being there. AND! It could be that Sigma could be his replacement. Think about it! Yosano is the healer, Kenji and Atsushi are the brute force, Tanazaki is the diversion, Kunikida will be the future President and Ranpo is the brains! And what is Dazai's role in all this? The pretty face?!

Now before some of you come after me saying "What about Dazai's promise to Odasaku about being good?!" Chill out, I've got my explanation for that. Dazai could rejoin the Port Mafia and become the boss but he could still be a good guy, just like Odasaku with the whole "I'm an agent in the Port Mafia but I don't kill" sort of thing.

And a few other things: Season 5 acted in a way as to how the Detective Agency would function without Dazai.

Dazai crimes somehow got leaked even though Ango told Mushitaro that he had deleted them all so Dazai could be free from his past life.

Mori is sitting down in his seat in season 1 but not in season 3.

Dazai also takes off the pendant he wears in the season 4 outro.

Shows:

Hazbin Hotel- this one is obvious haha

Our Flag Means Death- I used to have a special interest on pirates when I was a kid so this show felt like tailor made for me

Glee- I know this one is a bit cringey, but I like that about it. The storylines are ridiculous and the songs are good

Gravity Falls- I used to be hyperfixated on this show when I was around 11 and the Book of Bill has reignited it

The Owl House- it's just such a good quality show, I love it

Supernatural- this is another show that goes off the walls a bit in later seasons, but again, that's part of what I like about it

Dead Boy Detectives- this show is so good. I was so upset when Netflix cancelled it

Stranger Things- I hesitated to put this here because I actually don't have any interest in the show anymore, but I do really like the fandom, so I figured I'd still put it

Movies:

Scream- this is my favourite horror movie franchise. It's just a really good movie, and the rest of the movies (apart from the third one and the two newest ones that I haven't seen) are also amazing

Books:

Heartstopper- technically this could fit into shows as well cause I really like the show, but I read the books first so I'm putting it here.

The Witch Boy- I think more people should read this, it's a graphic novel and is really good. Great art and story.

Magical Boy- the same as the witch boy. More people should read it, and it's great. It's about a trans boy who finds out that his mom and her mom and so on were all magical girls, and now he has to be one

Video Games:

FNAF- this was my first ever special interest so it holds a special place in my heart

Undertale- this was my second ever special interest and listening to the soundtrack still makes me emotional

Slime Rancher- this is the only game that I've ever played on the same save file for more than a week, it's so cute and amazing

Minecraft- I have played this game since I was a toddler, and all of my favourite childhood youtubers were minecraft youtubers (only three of them turned out to be bad people)

Musicals- I'm a theater kid so there are a few and I don't really have much to say about any of them so I'm just gonna list some

Reptiles! I love reptiles so much. They are the best thing ever. I really want to become a reptile keeper (zookeeper but specifically taking care of reptiles)

Explanation: OK so starting off with appearances I think that Johnny Kay would be extremely attracted to you. I think he would stand out, especially with your Gothic bimbo style/traditional Goth. (Hey just like meee!) I personally think that he’s more into alternative people so I think he would absolutely love the way you look and just think about you all the time and always kind of have you on the back of his mind, but he would be scared as shit shit to come up with you, so Dallas would have to definitely push him (literally) to talk to you. I think that he really likes that you’re short and would definitely tease you about it. Based on your music taste, I think that you are kind of a bad ass and I think that Johnny would too. I think he really would like a lot of your music even if some of it is a little bit too intense for him he would let you know, and I hope that he would respect his boundary and you probably would. PLEASE LISTEN TO 13 THE MUSICAL PLEASE

okay so there's this musical called 13 that i have an emotional attachment to specifically bc it was the first musical i ever performed but it's honestly such a silly goofy musical and i absolutely need it to get more attention.

im just gonna rattle off some things about the musical please stick with me i swear it's silly pleaseplease

plot overview: Evan Goldman, a 12 year old boy who's just about to turn 13. he's just moved from New York to Indiana because of his parent's divorce and he's set on becoming popular in order to make sure his bar mitzvah isn't lame. he ends up meeting a bunch of new people and causing a bunch of chaos and i have no idea how to explain the rest of it other than "average middle school drama" but i swear it's good in the "wow this is so stupid i love it" way.

musicals it's pretty similar to: Be More Chill, Dear Evan Hansen (except without the weird "pretending to be a dead kid's best friend" stuff), Heathers (again, without the killing bits)

other things to note before getting into it (basically my thoughts and me explaining what versions to avoid): DO NOT WATCH THE NETFLIX VERSION. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT WATCH THE NETFLIX VERSION. i also haven't found many bootlegs of the musical on YouTube that were good (honestly the cast i was with when we performed it were my favorite but i'm pretty biased and there's no public recordings of it anyways), so i'd recommend just listening to the soundtrack on Spotify. SPECIFICALLY LISTEN TO THE ORIGINAL BROADWAY RECORDING THO, THE OTHER ONE IS MID IN MY OPINION SO I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT.

some other things to try convince u plsplsplspls: THE SHOW HAS A LOTTA OFF-HAND KINDA OFFENSIVE HUMOR SO KEEP THAT IN MIND. IT'S A LITTLE SOUTH PARK-Y IN A WAY BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW EXACTLY TO DESCRIBE IT?? THE BEST EXAMPLE I CAN GIVE IS THAT THERE'S A WHOLE SONG CALLED "TERMINAL ILLNESS" WHERE EVAN JUST CONVINCES THIS ONE KID TO EXPLOIT HIS DISABILITY INTO GETTING THEM SOMETHING THEY BOTH WANT. SO LIKE JUST KEEP THAT IN MIND.

other than that though, the characters are really silly. like they're all super weird, awkward, and goofy because of the fact that they're all young teens and even though some of it gives second-hand embarrassment, i feel like the fact that they're just silly little kids is what makes them all so lovable. there's also a bunch of songs that do kind of hit hard in the "wow i remember feeling that way and i still kinda do feel like that damn" which i think just adds to the charm. "Good Enough" is definitely one of those songs imo, but listen to the full soundtrack first before just skipping to it i swear it hits hard with an emotional attachment first.

also uh ariana grande was in it or sumn. she didn't even have a major role tho which is funny. and you can tell that at the very end the writers were like "FUCK WE GOTTA EXPLOIT HER TALENT" and let her riff for the entire ending song which i think is funny LMAO.

i've got no idea what else to put here just please listen to them i swear theyre silly guys please.

Yes! I am a Broadway Baby! I love, love, love theater - not only Broadway, but Broadway is the mecca. lol I'd love to help you - but maybe you can tell me a little more about what you like, then I may be able to hone in more on what you like.

But here are some suggestions.

Wicked - I've seen it five times, and I love it. I've taken many out-of-towners, and everyone has loved it. (Little secret: if you go to the in-person, day-of lottery, you have an excellent chance of getting deeply discounted tickets). I highly recommend this show.

The Lion King - it's still super popular. Personally, I am not a fan of the "Disnification" of Broadway (not even a little). But I must admit, this one was a very good production - but once was enough for me. I know many people who have won this lottery too.

Sweeney Todd - Disclaimer. I do not like this play... at all. I would never go see it. lol, But many people do, and Josh Groban is in the lead. I was almost tempted to go (but I won't, lol).

Parade - This revival has gotten smashing reviews. I'm going to see it soon, and I can't wait. It is HEAVY and SAD material, not exactly a feel-good musical. Ben Platt is the lead, and, honestly, the man is Broadway gold. I saw him in Dear Even Hansen (which, sadly, just closed) three times, and I'd pay to watch him sing the Yellow Pages.

Hamilton - It is a fucking masterpiece. There is no other way to put it. I had literal chills and honestly said, "Wow!" out loud without realizing I was going to say it. It's that good.

Aladdin - Disclaimer. NOT my thing (I do not like the Disnification of Broadway), but if you're into Disney, you'd probably like this. It is a great production. I'd just rather it not be on Broadway. lol If you like plays (not musicals) too, let me know, and I'll give you suggestions. I love plays, but not everyone does.
