Iâll never forget how bleak and deeply unsettling this hiatus was. Iâll never forget the things that were said and done over fictional characters. Iâll never forget how horrible Lou was treated and how no one would dare speak out against such insane behavior. The homophobia, queer phobia, toxic and harmful rhetoric, nonstop harassment, gaslighting and the hypocrisy were through the roof. Very dishearteningâŠ

Skandagiri Hills Sunrise: Ready for the Epic Morning Views?
Overview:
If youâre an adventure enthusiast or a nature lover, thereâs nothing quite like witnessing the Skandagiri Hills Sunrise. Skandagiri is nestled near Bangalore. It is renowned for its stunning sunrise views. The early wake-up call and the trek to the top is well worth it. This destination is known for its exhilarating night treks. It offers an unforgettable experience that draws both seasoned trekkers and beginners alike. So, are you ready to witness this miraculous beauty?
Embark on a Night Trek in Skandagiri Bangalore:
One of the most thrilling ways to experience the Skandagiri Hills Sunrise is by embarking on a Night trek in Skandagiri Bangalore. The trek usually begins in the dead of night, allowing you to reach the summit just in time for the first light of dawn. Starting the journey under the starlit sky, with the cool breeze and the sounds of nocturnal creatures in the background, sets the stage for an adventurous hike.
The trek covers a distance of about 8 km round trip, taking you through rocky terrains, dense forests, and steep inclines. As you ascend, the challenge intensifies, but the anticipation of the spectacular sunrise keeps you motivated. The path is well-trodden but requires careful navigation, especially during the nighttime. For those who love adventure, the night trek is an absolute must-do.
The Magic of Skandagiri Hills Sunrise:
After a few hours of skandagiri trekking, the reward for your effort is the breathtaking Skandagiri Hills Sunrise. As the sun begins to rise, the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant colorsâshades of orange, pink, and gold blend seamlessly, illuminating the mist-covered hills below. The view from the summit is nothing short of magical, with the surrounding landscape slowly coming into view as the darkness fades away.
The beauty of this sunrise is enhanced by the tranquility of the early morning. The air is crisp and fresh. The peaceful atmosphere allows you to fully immerse yourself in the heart-drenching moment. Itâs a perfect time for reflection, photography, or simply soaking in the natural beauty. Many trekkers find this experience to be spiritually uplifting, as the serenity and the views from the top leave a lasting impression. I think, now you can agree that it is magical indeed, right?
Navigating Skandagiri Trek Difficulty:
Skandagiri Trek Difficulty is rated as moderate. But, it does require a reasonable level of fitness and stamina. The trek involves navigating through uneven paths, steep climbs, and loose rocks. This can be challenging, especially for beginners. However, with proper preparation and pacing, the trek would be definitely manageable for you.
Itâs advisable to wear sturdy trekking shoes with good grip. Why? The rocky terrain can be slippery, particularly during the descent. Carrying a torch or headlamp is essential for the night trek. The trail can be quite dark and visibility is limited. Additionally, bringing along enough water and light snacks will keep you energized throughout the hike.
Engaging in Skandagiri Trek Activities:
Apart from witnessing the sunrise, there are several Skandagiri Trek Activities that you can enjoy. Photography is a popular activity here. Of course! There are plenty of opportunities to capture stunning landscapes, the rising sun and the play of light and shadow over the hills. Birdwatchers can also spot a variety of avian species in the area. This obviously adds an extra dimension to the trek.
For those who are interested in history, Skandagiri holds a few ruins of ancient fortifications at the summit. These were once part of a stronghold during the reign of Tipu Sultan. Exploring these remnants gives a glimpse into the regionâs past and adds a historical flavor to your trekking experience. All these facts would definitely have swayed your heart and soul. So, donât delay your dream trip to Skandagiri. Plan it already, wanderlust!
Reaching Skandagiri from Bangalore:
Skandagiri, also known as Kalavara Durga, is located about 70 km from Bangalore, making it a convenient and popular trekking destination for city dwellers. Skandagiri from Bangalore drive takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Most trekkers prefer to start late in the night to reach the base by midnight and begin their ascent.
The base of the hill is located near the village of Kalavara, where you can find parking facilities and local guides if needed. Organized trekking groups often offer transportation and guided tours, making it easier for those unfamiliar with the route.
Conclusion:
The skandagiri sunrise trek is an experience that combines adventure, natural beauty, and a sense of accomplishment. Whether youâre drawn by the thrill of the Night trek in Skandagiri Bangalore, the challenge of the Skandagiri Trek Difficulty, or simply the desire to witness an unforgettable sunrise, this trek has something for everyone. So, gear up, plan your trek, and get ready to be awed by the epic morning views from the top of Skandagiri.

Hey, i kinda wanna explore the full scope? Of fundys character esp during season 1? So i was gonna ask for some Fundy vod recommendations to really understand him. Thank you!
Sure! Sorry this one took me a while to answer. I wanted to give a properly fleshed-out list
I'll just sort of give the whole list of streams that include character lore with a brief description of what happens. Not every one of these is the most important stuff, but figured it might be nice to just make a full reference post so that you can decide for yourself which ones to watch.
---
Fundy Lore VODs List: Season One (+ a bit of Season Two)
---
First up: The L'manburg War.
-
July 30: Dream SMP - joining a revolution
At this point Fundy had been on the server for a few weeks and he had already gotten involved in the hot dog drug van scheme before, but here's where his character lore starts getting fleshed out. This is where he first becomes Wilbur's son.
-
July 31: $1000 minecraft wipeout event
Towards the end of this stream is where Fundy attempts to convince George to betray Dream in the war and join L'manburg.
-
August 2: Dream SMP - THE GREAT WAR!!!!!!
Fundy's POV of the L'manburg War.
-
August 4: Dream SMP - I hurt my mouth so I can't talk a lot
This is the stream where Fundy shrinks Eret's tower. When Tommy and Jack come talk to him, Fundy comes up with some lore about his mother for the first time: "Sally," the accountant salmon who raised him.
-
After this, it's mostly a period of fun pranks and more casual hijinks. The next big thing for Fundy's character is the Pet War.
-
August 28: DREAM SMP - TIME FOR CHAOS
Fundy finds out about Fungi's death and takes his revenge on Sapnap with Niki's help.
-
August 30: SAPNAP MUST PAY - Dream SMP
This stream is mostly chill up until towards the end where Fundy plays his bee game with Punz. Tommy, Tubbo and Quackity come to back him up at the tower.
-
August 31: NO MERCY - Dream SMP
Fundy and Niki find Sapnap and Dream's hidden pets and create an obsidian chamber to house Beelloon. Towards the end, there's a confrontation between Fundy and Sapnap.
-
September 2: PREPARING FOR BATTLE - Dream SMP
This is the L'manburg civil war stream where there's a brief conflict between Fundy and Tubbo, and Tommy diffuses it before it escalates. This is the event that Wilbur references when he describes how he needs to consolidate power with an election.
-
September 8: unboxing, then becoming president! - Dream SMP
Fundy's POV of the King's Court Election Debate stream.
-
September 9: ENDING THE WAR - Dream SMP
The final duel in the arena between Sapnap and Fundy, refereed by Tubbo, to end the Pet War.
-
With the Pet War over, the focus turns to the Election.
-
September 14: ruining the Dream SMP
After Tommy ridicules Fundy in an attempt to secure Sapnap's vote, Fundy suspects Tommy might be trying to destroy L'manburg. He, along with Niki, join forces and come up with a name for their new campaign: COCONUT2020.
-
Fundy didn't stream his POV of Schlatt's inauguration, but you probably already know what happened next...
-
September 22: ELECTION RESULTS DAY!!! DREAM TEAM SMP!!!
(From Eret's POV) Fundy burns the flag of L'manburg, declaring it a new era.
From here on out, it's the Schlatt Administration.
-
September 23: DREAM SMP - A New Era...
Fundy begins to work under Schlatt in Manberg, building a new purple flag. Niki and Tommy intervene. While talking with Schlatt, Fundy rejects Wilbur as his father.
Fundy begins to write a new book documenting his experiences under the new administration: A Spy's Diary.
-
September 25: DREAM SMP THE OBSIDIAN FLAG
Following the previous incident, Fundy replaces the purple version of the Manberg flag with a new one built out of obsidian. Fundy begins to question his allegiances in his diary.
After Schlatt spots him writing, he pulls Fundy aside for a talk...
-
The next VODs are more casual work in Manberg. Fundy starts building a hidden underground bunker that uses a key in a certain spot to open with redstone. He gets Iskall to help.
-
October 7: Dream SMP THE NEW MANBERG
The legendary Dreamon Hunter stream.
-
October 14: DREAM SMP - THE DREAMON HIDEOUT
The second Dreamon Hunter stream.
At the beginning, Fundy admires his work on the Festival decorations and gives a short speech about progress in the country, asking what Tommy and Wilbur ever really did for them.
Tubbo and Fundy later recruit Sapnap into their ranks. Fundy tells BadBoyHalo about these "Dreamons" and gets him to begin digging out a certain large, underground room to be used as the headquarters for the operation.
-
October 16: DREAM SMP - THE FESTIVAL
Fundy's POV of the Manberg Festival. Chaos ensues, and Fundy learns that the person he hunted Dreamons with was a traitor after all...
-
November 3rd: Dream SMP - PRANK MARATHON
That's an awful lot of buttons.
-
November 6: [DreamSMP] The Meeting
(From Wilbur's POV) After the meeting with Schlatt goes wrong, everyone gathers in Pogtopia. Fundy arrives, revealing his change of sides to his father.
-
November 16: Dream SMP - THE FINAL WAR
Fundy fights in the final war against Schlatt.
---
That's it for Season One, but the aftermath of the explosion in early Season Two is a hugely important arc for Fundy's character as well, so I'll include a few of those here too.
---
November 17: Dream SMP - THE GREAT REBUILDING
With the first appearance of Ghostbur, Fundy helps the New L'manburg cabinet begin to rebuild. He talks about how he feels about Wilbur's death.
-
November 22: Dream SMP - REVENGE
Fundy has a conversation with Jack Manifold about Ghostbur, who has started to follow him around while invisible. He continues to work through his feelings.
-
November 23: POWER AND DOMINANCE (and vibing) on the Dream SMP (!newvid)
(From Eret's POV) While working on the museum, Eret asks Fundy if he would like to be adopted...
-
November 24: Amangus with new and old friends and Minecraft
(From Wilbur's POV) Ghostbur gets Fundy's gear and returns it as a kind gesture. Fundy breaks the news to him about the adoption.
-
November 27: Dream SMP - BEING ADOPTED
The climax of Fundy's initial arc with Ghostbur. After Eret doesn't show up for the adoption, Fundy goes fishing with Phil only to get into an argument with Ghostbur about avoiding responsibility.
---
And that's it! There's plenty more to say about Season Two, but that first arc is the most important.
Hope this helped! Happy watching!

Going in blind: Watching season 1 for the first time. Random thoughts.
This show is kind of nice because I have no memories of the original She-Ra show, or even any of He-Man, honestly. I'm not sure if I ever watched the original, so I have no frame of reference for how the series is "supposed" to be. I can just take it and judge it as is.
Of the bat, all I know is that supposedly She-Ra and Catra get together as a romantic couple later, but I'm also a huge My Hero Academia fan and the fandom around me ships every character with every other character, so for all I know that might just be shipper wishful thinking I've been seeing and hearing. Given fandoms for Gravity Falls, Thor, and Supernatural ship even siblings together, I've learned not to trust anything except for what I see in the series for myself.
By the way, this isn't a review, just random thoughts and comments I'm having as I'm going through season 1 for the first time.
Episodes 1 and 2: Right off, I really like Catra's "No duh" response to Adora about the truth of the horde. She knows they've been lying to them and have been doing terrible things, she just doesn't care. If she and Adora play their cards right they could end up being the ones in charge and then they'd have all that power. Not necessarily to make things better but enough to where they could do whatever and live however they want. That's a good build for an antagonist. Not ignorant to the fact what they're doing is wrong, just simply so selfish that they don't care.
Episode 3: It really feels like there was no good reason why Glimmer didn't just outright introduce Adora to her mother and every reason she should have known it was a bad idea to try and hide her for a surprise. Being a former horde soldier she'd probably get treated with hostility if Glimmer brought her to the front gate but you'd almost guarantee Adora would get arrested or outright killed if she got caught while no one else knew she was there.
On the other side, we have Hordak being pretty intelligent in promoting Catra. He probably knows Shadow Weaver already doesn't like him, so it's not like he's losing anything making her upset with him, and it's clear she favors Adora way more than Catra, so that little bit of advancement towards Catra probably goes a long way in earning her loyalty to him and a person on the inside with Shadow Weaver.
Also, I'm not the only one who saw Madam Razz and immediately thought Adora had found her Yoda, right?
Episode 4: I don't know how it was in the original She-Ra and He-Man series but I kind of like She-Ra being this title from legend. Adora is not the first She-Ra, given what Razz was talking about with a Mara, so instead of being something new, impressing everyone with abilities they've never seen before, and creating the legend, Adora is placed in a position WAY over her head where she's having to live up to what came before her.
Episode 5: Calling it now, as long as her personality is genuine I think Scorpia is going to be one of my favorite characters in this show. She's...endearing, I think is the best word. She's like a mix of Kronk and a nicer Shego.
For a little bit I thought Mermista was voiced by the same actress who played Poison Ivy in the Harley Quinn animated series. She's not but they do have the same kind of Daria-ish inflections, thus by confusion. Given the prom episode, Sea Hawk feels kind of like her Kite Man.
Episode 6: Okay, now it's between Scorpia and Entrapta who are likely to be my favorites by the end of this. She's fun and quirky.
Episode 7: Quite the lore drop. Shadow Weaver was once a Mystacor sorceress known as Light Spinner. I like to imagine we'll get more on that later. Her haunting Adora reminded me of the Teen Titans' episode where Robin was similarly haunted by Slade. This didn't go as far as that but that's probably for the best, since TT had two and a half seasons to build that dynamic up with Robin and Slade while we're only now halfway through the first season.
Episode 8: Well dang. Again, I don't know for sure if Adora and Catra do end up together but boy do I buy why they're shipped together after that dance. Also, good on Bow for standing up for himself. It's clear that he'll always be Glimmer's friend and this won't change that but that doesn't mean he has to just accommodate her. I understand where her issues stem from but I am still glad he gave her a reality check. It helps him feel a little more like his own character.
Also, another nice little bit of lore and worldbuilding. Scorpia's a princess, the horde landed where her people lived, and they seemed to join them willingly.
Episode 9: Surprisingly don't have a lot to say about this other than I don't buy for a second that Entrapta is dead (EDIT: She's not). This was mostly action.
Episode 10: Not going to lie, this one kind of annoyed me a little, at least the first half. The conversation between Glimmer and her mother saved it a bit. It was a bit of a trifecta. You have the alliance breaking apart, saying that the loss of Entrapta only happened because they were all together...even though Entrapta only "died" because of her own machine obsession that caused her to deliberately walk back into the purging chamber. You have Entrapta who might be turning to the horde's side because she feels abandoned by the other princesses...even though they thought she was dead, and again it was her fault they got separated. And you have Glimmer refusing to tell her mother that Shadow Weaver's dark magic has caused her powers to go on the fritz and is causing her great pain. It just feels like none of this would be an issue if most of these people would stop being self-absorbed for three seconds and talk like any normal person would. It feels very CW drama, like something I'd see in a bad season of Arrow or The Flash. The only person whose issues I buy is Adora, who is basically a soldier who was never properly raised to deal with emotion or loss and is already struggling with the burden of being She-Ra, the legendary savior. I get why she's beating down on herself for not being able to do more even if nothing that happened was her fault.
Episode 11: JEEEEEEEEEZZZZ, that was such a good episode! Focused entirely on Adora and Catra and their past together. Like, just showing someone this episode alone could probably get them to want to watch the series. That was everything you needed to know about their dynamic and history together.
Also, that moment when Catra and her past self are looking at each other, while obviously Catra takes the opposite lesson, it reminded me of this fanart I'd once seen of Jason Todd, the Red Hood, looking at his past self as Robin. The past says to the future "You ruined everything". Catra could be happy but, ironically for someone who hates Shadow Weaver, she's probably going to be a lot like her, sacrificing everything for power and ambition.
Given the way she looked, I'm guessing Shadow Weaver is either addicted to the power of the Black Garnet or she suffered some kind of past injury and its power is the only thing keeping her going. Or both.
Episode 12: I'll be honest, Swiftwind being able to talk kind of gobsmacked and I needed a moment to recover. What a great voice they chose for that character.
So She-Ra is kind of like the legendary heroes from Rising of the Shield Hero, coming from a long line of people chosen to wield the sword. I tend to dislike chosen one types of stories because I think prophecy takes a lot of weight out of the character's actions, so this and Avatar are more what I like. The MC is special but not the only one who's ever been special and they can still easily fail. Their destiny was only to be able to use the weapon, not that they would succeed in any specific purpose.
And dang, Catra's turn against Shadow Weaver happened faster than I thought it would but I'm not complaining. That great "This is what you've really been preparing me for" speech and Hordak, again, being an intelligent villain. "Oh, this experiment could net me a MASSIVE gain and all it could potentially cost me is this rock I already gave away to someone who lately hasn't been producing any results and has been consistently disobeying me. Yeah, I'm going to let this play out."
Episode 13: That was kind of a brutal fight between Adora and Catra. Not the worst I've ever seen even in other shows for this age range (Samurai Jack, for example) but those punches are connecting and those claws are leaving marks.
Also, maybe I'm just misunderstanding the exact situation but shouldn't the good guys' side be called the Resistance instead of the Rebellion? Being a rebellion would imply they are rebelling against an established power or rule over them, but the actual conflict we are shown is the established power and rule that is the kingdoms of Eternia resisting an outside force that wishes to establish a new order over them.
Season 1 verdict: I'm into it. I'm definitely more invested in the villains' side of things but that's not a fault of the series, that stuff is just way more geared towards me than the current princess stuff. I actively am at attention whenever the horde main characters are on screen. For the good guys it's mostly Adora and the She-Ra stuff I'm invested it. That isn't to say I have any real dislikes for that side. Bow especially I'm liking much more than I thought I might. He has kind of this gravitational pull around him. You will be his friend regardless of how much you might want to resist. He's definitely the rock for everyone else to hold onto.
Minor side note, kind of like Korra in Legend of Korra, I love how even when her powers aren't active Adora is shown to still be pretty strong physically with how easily she was lifting people up at the prom.
And I was right, Scorpia is my favorite side character.
On to season 2!

just for a moment - park jisung fanfic (part 1)
âContinuing to run you turn around with a huge smile across your face, locking eyes with the boy whos awestruck expression turns into a comforting smile. Somehow without even knowing each other's names you both felt as if you've managed to escape reality, like the two of you were the only people in the universe, a feeling so rare, a scene only in movies, an occurrence never forgotten and yet was just experienced by these two individuals, even if it was just for a moment.â
Park jisung x readerÂ

*IMPORTANT PLEASE READ*
Authors note: Since this a fanfic, therefore fiction, there story is set in your last year in highschool with the rest of the dream members who are all the same age. The school year will also be following the korean academic year system, just for some realism. I also made up a few characters with a korean name generator so please donât overthink! I will also be releasing this story 4 chapters at a time with 3 parts in total, making a total of 12 chapters #quickmaths. Apologies in advance if my uploads are slow or my grammar is awful. Make sure to like and comment any suggestions or thoughts, but try to be kind, itâs my first time writing a fanfic.Â
Enjoy reading~
March: March, although somewhat an afterthought or rather a shadow of winter, left with only itâs remains, it sets the groundwork for the rest of the year. March plants seeds that grow from mere sprouts to full grown plants during the course of the year.Â
Itâs early March, the month when the snow starts to thaw in preparation of the well anticipated season of spring. The feel of the winter air has managed to remain in Seoul, resented by the thousands of students forced to return back to school for the first semester. One of those poor unfortunate souls is you, y/n l/n, an 18 year old girl and youâve come back to start and, hopefully, finish your senior year at Seoul Highschool. Although what does seem to make your experience there a little more bearable are your two friends Seo Kyung-Hu and Hu Mee-yon, while those two have been friends since primary school, you only met them in Middle school when you first transferred and they being the only nice enough kids willing to approach you, the three of you clicked instantly and ever since your trio have stayed a complete set.
Unlike your two friends, you could care less about school purposefully staying up late in hopes of sleeping through your alarm and having a valid excuse to miss the first day of school. And your plan worked⊠to some extent. Your mother on the other hand was keen to send you to the school you paid money for, as you should. You were fast asleep dreaming about exo performing as ot9 was suddenly awoken by the screaming of your mother. âYAH Y/N WAKE UP AND GET TO SCHOOL BEFORE I TAKE ALL YOUR EXO POSTERS AGAIN!â hearing that was enough to make you jump out of bed and start getting ready, not without a few complaints of course. Walking into your washroom you take one good look at your face in the morning, âoh godâ youâre at least grateful your skin decided not to break out on the first day of school however your face was still puffed and quite dull. You continued washing your face, brushing your teeth and putting on that god awful, ugly, disgusting, and horrific uniform, as you described. Objectively your uniform wasnât at all bad however you had the tendency to well⊠overthink. (the uniform looks like the A-teen beige uniform)
It being 8:35 and school starting at 8:45, you speed walked and slightly ran to school attempting to cut the initial 10 min walk in half with at least 5 mins to spare just in case. Fortunately enough you managed to get there on time to check what your classroom was, before the bell. Room 215? Ok⊠WHERE IS THAT AGAIN?! Somehow the break managed to erase most of your memory of the school, although there wasnât much worth remembering about your most hated location on planet earth. You run around frantically desperately trying to find your homeroom before a teacher, or worse a hall monitor. You stop in the middle of an empty hallway to text your friends where the hell room 215 is, until you hear a unfamiliar voice reach out to you, âAre you lost babygirlâ WHAT THEEE it took a second for you to process what the guy had said until out of instinct you start to laugh uncontrollably with your eyes starting to tear up. You turn around, hand holding your stomach, âWhat did you just say?â you ask, unable to take the male standing in front of you seriously. He stares at you, seeming to enjoy that you understood his reference, âWhat so youâre telling me youâre not totally turned on by that comment?â With a slight over exaggerated gasp at the end of his sentence, obviously showing that he was joking. âNo no your question was valid just-â unable to finish your sentence you rerun the moment that had just unfolded through your head, succeeding in making you burst out in laughter again. His voice cuts through your laugh, âNo but seriously you seem lostâ finally regaining your composure, you take a minute to examine his appearance, and his attractiveness, and realizing youâve been staring for a bit too long you panic quickly trying to cover it up, âYEAH UM i'm lost do you know where room 215 is?â âNew student?â âno just dumbâ He laughs at your honesty and points you in the right direction like a true gentleman. âOh my god thanks so much, hope I see you again cute stranger!â you end your sentence with a wink and then run off after getting a glimpse of his dumbfounded expression although close enough to hear him yell out, âThe nameâs YangYang!âÂ
The odds were in your favour managing to slip into class before your teacher arrived and you had a mini-mental celebration before choosing to sit in the empty window seat in the middle row with an empty seat beside you to limit the amount of human interaction you get. Sitting down in your seat and see the teacher walk in and start the generic beginning of the school year talk, you text your friends to pass the time, who were lucky enough to have their class together, while the class goes through the course outline. After waiting a few minutes at the front, you see both of your friends, Kyung-hu and mee-yon or as you called them kyuhu and mimi to simplify their names, walk out and you guys greet each other before the three of you walk in the direction of your neighborhood, talking about what you all did during the break, all the annoying teachers and most recent gossip.Â
Youâd notice that the first week of school would follow this routine, passing by quite quickly and finding it uneventful as your teacher didnât give a lot of homework as it was the first week of school. During the first week you concluded that there was no one in your classroom, or in the school for that matter that piqued your interest except for the fellow that helped you on the first day but has managed to slip your sight every time you scanned your surroundings to find him. Although just as fast as the first week passed by, the weekend went just as fast, and based on how your school operates, itâd be the only free weekend youâd have in a long time. And much to your dissatisfaction, you found herself in the same situation from a week ago, tired, lazy and lacking any motivation to go to school. Despite this you actually made an effort to wake up early, too early, to get ready for school to escape the never ending nagging from your mother over calls from the office over your tardy attendance. After eating a good enough breakfast, you open your door expecting a cold breeze to meet you as it did last week but to your surprise the outside was bright and dry, with no traces of snow, almost as if the weekend magically changed Seoul from winter to spring. However the leaves on the trees would need a lot more time than a weekend to grow back to their former glory. Remember when I mentioned you woke up too early, you were exactly two hours early when you arrived at the school, which suddenly made sense to you when you realized that no one in your house was awake yet and the roads in your neighborhood felt deserted. After walking around the campus you finally settle on a familiar tree on the outskirts of the school grounds, its location the very reason why you and your friends chose it as your casual lunch location for the past two years. You set your bag on your lap hugging it like a pillow laying your head on it for support and almost immediately you start drifting off the sleep.Â
Unbeknownst to you, your perfect sleep would be ruined by one Park Jisung, you see park jisung made the mistake of waking up 20 mins before school started not taking into account it was his very first day at the highschool and he was bound to get lost on the way to school and if he even managed to find the school, heâd have no idea where his classroom as he also missed orientation for all new students. Late and lost, jisung looked around the front of the building in search of someone to help him but since school had already started most staff and students were already inside. Although it wouldâve been easier for jisung to walk inside the building somehow he noticed a figure under a tree not too far from him, jisung assuming it was a student figured itâd be easier to ask a student then suffer a scolding or even awkward small talk with a teacher. He runs up to the sleeping person under the tree and realizes itâs a girl from the long hair and skirt, legs criss crossed under a bag you is hugging and sleeping on. Reluctant to grab your attention, awakening you from your slumber, but he must do so if he ever wishes to get to class. âExcuse me?â Jisung repeats this a few times first with a shy voice growing in volume in desperation to wake you up. In your dream EXO OT9 were just about to sing love shot, one of the comebacks lay missed out on, when you heard a reluctant voice repeatedly saying excuse me disrupting your peace and not to mention exoâs performance. Jisung seeing that his voice was not enough to wake you up he starts to get physical. You try to ignore the voice hoping itâd go away until it actually starts poking your shoulder, now you have no choice but to let go of your perfect dream and wake up to respond to the thing that dares interrupt your nap. Jisung notices the girl moving, satisfied that he finally woke you up, he watches as you yawn and rub your eyes, cute he thinks to himself admiring the girlâs sleepy and adorable state. You open your eyes to see a timid but tall boy crouched beside you, finger still pointed after persistently poking you. âYes?â glaring at the poor boy with the rudest voice you could muster expecting him to get the hint to leave you alone. âU-um can u help me?â Looking at the nervous state of the boy you empathize with his confusion seeing as you were in a similar dilemma a week ago. Softening your expression you say, âyeah what's up?â using a tone completely opposite of the one a second ago, causing Jisung to relax and become more at ease after noticing your change in attitude, âoh can u tell me where this classroom is?â Jisung points at his paper, saying Room 215. He watches your face light up, âOh! That's my classroom you can just follow me!â And you give the boy an eye smile, happy that you can help him and possibly become friends with the boy. Jisungâs ears turn pink admiring how cute your smile is and touched by your hospitality. you stand up dusting off your skirt and checking if you had any dirt on your clothes or legs. Putting your backpack on and adjusting the straps you ask the boy what time it was. âOh it's 9:00 amâ Jisung says to you sheepishly hoping he doesnât shock you by how late they both are, âOH SHOOT'' After hearing the time realizing just how fucked you were, acting quick you grab the new boyâs hand and start running towards the building. Jisung trailing behind the small girl is blushing due to the sudden skin ship and can feel his heart pounding due to the spontaneousness of the girl's actions along with the running not at all helping with his heart rate. Running across the field underneath the sunlight causes an increase in heart rate, a mutual feeling felt by the two, but you both recognize it as a mere adrenaline rush as you both try to take in the predicament you find yourselves in. Jisung staring at the hand who had taken his own so boldly, looked up staring at your hair that had turned from a raven black shade to a chocolate brown in the sunlight admiring how it swayed while you ran. Continuing to run you turn around with a huge smile across your face locking eyes with the boy whos awestruck expression turns into a comforting smile. Somehow without even knowing each other's names you both felt as if you've managed to escape reality, like the two of you were the only people in the universe, a feeling so rare, a scene only in movies, an occurrence never forgotten and yet was just experienced by these two individuals, even if it was just for a moment.Â
April: April bears us spring, which in turn prepares us for summer. The weather is unlike any other, it follows the frigid temperatures of winter and yet precedes the intense heat of summer, the month is in equilibrium.Â
You watch from the safety of the other side of the field as Jisung is teased yet again by his new found friend group. As cliche as it sounds he managed to land himself with the âpopular kids'' group despite this school not caring much for social norms, even if there was a popular group itâd be them and theyâve accepted him wholeheartedly as if he spent the last two years with them. Much to everyoneâs surprise Jisung was capable of fitting in despite him being the new kid and it being the last year, it was almost as if he was the missing part of their friend group. The group consisted of Chenle, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Haechan and Mark and they werenât just popular, they were rich and attractive as well. âOh how heâs blossomedâ you say to yourself while admiring Jisung for coming out of his shell and express himself freely âOh god please donât tell me you just said thatâ âYou sound like a pedoâ As if on cue your two friends arrive at your spot under the tree, slightly creeped out by your confession. âYA I didnât mean it like that!â you say pouting at your friends' judgmental remarks. âItâs just that heâs grown so much and itâs only been a month'' taking one last glimpse at Jisung having fun before turning to your best friends who have already started to eat. âJisung was an innocent shy boy when you met him, your maternal instincts kicked in when you first saw him, so helped him out and get comfortable at the school and now you feel like youâve raised him but now that heâs found a proper friend group youâre sad blah blah blah yes we get it.â Shocked and speechless at what Mee-yon just said, you shake your head looking down before resting your head on your arms placed on your knees while meeting their gaze, âDid I really sound like a pedo?â this time Kyung-Hu was the one to reply âyes you definitely didâ nodding innocently while getting it to you straight. And with that final blow you hide your head in your crossed arms similar to a fetal position, accepting your defeat at their teasing.Â
As you hear your friends move on to a new topic you just keep your head down too tired to raise it and decide to take a mini nap to hopefully make up for the 3 hours of sleep you got the night before. It wasnât like you and jisung falling off bothered you that much you actually rarely thought about it, but for some reason today you were bothered. I guess we were never really friends. I guess more like friendly acquaintances? What about the time we hung out after school or skipped class together, did that mean anything? You sighed letting go of the memories of jisung and started falling asleep unaware of the glances from the same person you were just thinking about. You dreamed about the day you two met, after getting too tired to run the whole way there, since the two of you were already late you decided to just walk the rest of the way to your classroom while in the school, to give Jisung a mini school tour. âYou just transferred here right?â âyeah I used to live in Inseonâ âso whyâd you decide to move here and transfer just a week after school started?â âMy mom got an unexpected promotion she couldnât refuse so we had to move to Seoul, but you sure ask a lot of questions'' you remember him teasing you for that âWell do you blame me? Iâm curious.â You catch him off guard by your retaliation, âso do you miss it?â asking another unexpected question that causes a change in mood after bringing up his old home. âOf course I do, I grew up there, I had friends there and I had memoriesâ you turned around noticing his melancholy expression while reminiscing and looked at him with concern, feeling sorry for the boy who was just staring at the ceiling almost as if he was trying to find something that was not even there. He notices the silence and makes eye contact with you realizing he mustâve worried you. âOh but itâs better this way!â He says happily to ease your obvious concern and you stare at the nervous boy, eyebrow raised not convinced by his sudden change of heart. You let it go and the two of you walked a little bit more in silence before stopping, well at least you stopped, Jisung was absent minded enough to not realize you had stopped walking and bumped into back, you instantly looked up and stared at the boy directly over you. Jisung as the shy boy he was, panics and steps back slightly red which causes you to chuckle at his innocent behaviour. âWell here we are room 215â but before jisung was able to walk into the classroom, you turn around and stop him holding out your palm showing the universal symbol to stop, before extending it as a handshake. âBefore you hear it from anyone else, I'm y/nâ while grinning from ear to ear and jisung grasps your hand and gives you a light handshake, âhi iâm park jisungâ returning you the same enthusiasm through a smile. After holding each others hands a little longer than expected, you let go awkwardly and enter the rowdy classroom filled with talking, laughter and pure ruckus.Â
You didn't know one was capable of dreaming of a memory but you just did, and just as it was before, your nap was interrupted by noise, this time in the form of whispers, many whispers. You lift your head using your right hand to rub your eyes to adjust to the light and you meet eyes with the very boy you were dreaming about. âJisung?â you ask with open eyes, confused and surprised. âO-oh hi y/n we meet here againâ he answers, scratching the nape of his neck sheepishly. His friends beside him, snicker at his awkward response and continue laughing amongst each other mocking him, jisung notices this and pretends heâs about to hit them so theyâd stop making you feel uncomfortable. He looks back at you even more embarrassed to explain his presence in front of you, âso-â âWhy are you here, and where's kyung-hu and mee-yonâ You notice that your two friends are nowhere to be found and you become more and more anxious being alone with practical strangers. âFunny you should mention that, they actually-â âWe went to get some snacks!â Although kinda mad at them for leaving you alone, at least they showed up before this conversation could get any more awkward than it already was. Jisung feels quite relieved sparing him from the awkward exchange however his friends canât get enough of his uncomfortableness bursting out in laughter when he was interrupted, not once but two times. Jisung and his friends move themselves to the tree beside you guys resting under the shade after mee-yoon and kyung-hu return back to their seats. After waiting until they were at a comfortable distance you start yell/whispering at your friends, âWHat the fuck guys you dont leave me alone with strangers!â âOh donât worry at least you finally talked to him instead of staring at him all day. Plus we needed to get enough snacks for all of us and we all know one person canât carry all of that food. So please consider this strawberry milk as an apology.â Kyung-hu offers you the drink with Mee-yoon nodding her head in agreement. âUgh I guess this was worth that horrible experienceâ you take your favourite drink after barely eating anything due to your lack of appetite.Â
The bell goes off and everyone starts to leave the field and head under the main building including you and your friends and since those two had a class together you took a different hallway hearing footsteps behind you before realizing the only person that couldâve been behind you was someone in your class, god please kill me now. And before the awkwardness kills you, you turn around and break the silence âhey thanks for watching me while I slept I understand my friends prolly asked you to do it as a favour and I really appreciate itâ Jisung looks up after staring at his feet initially scared to stare in your direction. âNo problem, i'm sorry that woke you up from your nap under that tree, it feels almost like deja vuâ Both of you shyly laugh at his reference to your first encounter reminiscing the past memory. âTell me park jisung why is it always you that must ruin my napping time? What have I done to deserve such cruelty.â Your exaggeration and choice of words managed to put a smile on his face and even a chuckle out of him. âHey that's not my fault youâre obsessed with sleeping under that tree.â âBut itâd be a waste not to, the weather this time of the year is just right, you can feel the heat but it's not overbearing it comforts you, it doesnât require you to add layers nor remove any. We donât need to change, not one bit. I canât afford to take these moments for granted.â Jisung stares at your back taken aback by your sudden seriousness, not to mention the topic being the mere weather. Coincidentally the roles were now reversed, it was now Jisung that was perplexed by the change of mood similar to how you were a month ago. Although he could tell your words held more depth than they let on and decided not to speak on the matter moving on with the conversation. âBut seriously no need to thank me after all I do kinda owe you for helping me out, plus youâre my friend, actually my first friend at this schoolâ flashing you a smile which eases the awkwardness of your conversation. âFriend?â you widen your eyes at the title, unaware he saw you like that considering the limited time the two of you spent together. âYeah that's what you call people you care about right?â your eyes follow his figure with a speechless expression on your face as he passes by you and walks ahead to go back to class, but just before he walks in he steps back to look back at you, âare you coming, friend?â before winking at you, emasked in the sunlight coming from the classroom, changing his eyes a lighter shade, before completely walking into the classroom. He leaves you baffled and blushing at his new found confidence and you are still processing what just happened, did he just wink at me? You shake your head trying to forget his words in hopes of calming your heart rate and enter your classroom sitting in your seat, on the other side of the class. Despite how much you try to hide your embarrassment, you just couldnât hide how pink your ears were, same as jisung who might have put on a brave front, is slightly regretting and yet at the same time, proud of what he said. Both of you refusing to look anywhere else but down and especially not at each other, lost in your own thoughts but if the both of you had just looked at eachother even if it was just for a moment, you both wouldâve found out something crucial about each other.Â
May: May does not only serve as the last stretch of spring but as a period of freedom. It enables the ability to be free enough to have dreams and independent enough to act on them.Â
Unlike the last two months you and jisung actually managed to talk more, although more doesnât necessarily mean a lot but considering you and him have only shared a few meaningful conversations over the span of two months, your current relationship was a huge upgrade. Disregarding the occasional partner project or pairing in physical ed, in which you and jisung had always chosen each other considering both of your friends were in different classes, youâve developed somewhat of a casual and low maintenance friendship, that didnât need frequent conversations but had few but worthwhile moments, all of which were cherished by the both of you, as they reassembled the same serenity the two of you shared the first day you met each other. The moments you shared rarely felt forced and if they were, due to the immature pressures of both of your friend groups, the two of you had no trouble slipping into your own world. As naive as it sounds the friendship the two of you shared was purely platonic, no doubt there were moments of butterflies and heart racing however it only lasted just for a moment, quickly fading away. However someone you were interested in was the guy that helped you on your first day, although all that you knew about him was his name, yangyang.Â
You and your two friends approach the stands taking your seats to watch the soccer game hosted by your school after getting invited to sit beside jisung and a few of his friends to cheer on Jaemin, playing as a forward and Jeno, the goalie. As you look forward at the field and someone wearing the number 24 caught your eye. You found the haircut and build of number 24 familiar. You struggled trying to figure out just where you saw someone with similar features as 24, but it was only until he finally turned in your direction, getting a good look at his face. âThat's him!â you accidentally stood up, hands covering your open mouth and jisung who was having a conversation with his best friend chenle, turned around to look at your stunned expression. âHm? What happened?â You looked around embarrassed by drawing attention to yourself and sat back down awkwardly, leaning towards jisung who sat in the row in front of you to whisper, âdo you know who number 24 is?â âYeah thatâs yangyang but what about him?â âYeah I KNOW what his name is, but like who is he?â âI hope you realize how stupid you sound, but why are you asking me, IâM the new kid remember? Not the person who has been attending this school for the past two years.â Jisung raises his eyebrow to you confused as to why you donât know who this guy was, expecting the both of you to have already met at least once. âSo what youâre basically saying is that you got nothing?â âNo I never said that, for your information yangyang is our age but he only transferred here last year from Germany. I guess he keeps himself lowkey, soccer is really his only extracurricular.â âbruh you shouldâve just led with that, not with any of this new kid bsâ âI think you meant to say thank youâ Jisung gives you a deadpan look disappointed by your ungratefulness, you catch a glimpse of his face and laugh at how annoyed he is. Hoping not to make your friend upset, you lean in and stick out your tongue playfully in a teasing manner before flashing him your signature smile, âThank you Jwi~â. Taken aback by his nickname (jwi means mouse in korean) along with the hint of aegyo in your voice, blood rises to his cheeks and to his ears but before you properly see it, he covers his face with his hands while looking down although his ears, like always, were giving him away.Â
But before you could tease him the announcer's voice filled the outdoor stadium, âLadies and gentlemen the game between Seoul Highschool and Apgujeong Highschool is about to commence!â Suddenly you hear everyone in the stands start screaming yelling to the top of their lungs. âWe will first introduce the starting lineup of the home team, starting with co-captains Na Jaemin and Lee Jeno!â You, jisung and both of your friends stand up and start cheering on the duo running onto the field, as you have become quite friendly with jisung and his friends so it was only fitting for you to support them. After their introduction you paid no attention to the remainder of the names until, âNow introducing number 24 yangyang!â Your head that was previously resting on your palm was raised after hearing that familiar name and you lean in trying to get a closer look at him before going beside jisungs ear. âYaâ Jisung, scared by the sudden noise, flinches back leaning on to chenle, who was too distracted talking to Renjun to notice his best friend but jisungs reaction does cause you to grin. Pointing at the smiling boy on the field, you say âDo you know what class heâs in?â âOh him?â He takes a double check looking you up and down weirded out by your enthusiasm and interest in the soccer player. âYes we were literally talking about him like 10 seconds agoâ you rolling your eyes at his forgetfulness, you find it hard to believe he could be this oblivious knowing he was acting like this to tease you. âYeah I know what class heâs inâ you glare at the boy already knowing youâd have to do the most for him to finally spill the tea. âUh would you like to tell meee?â you, not caring if you seemed desperate. âLemme think, hmmm yeah no i'm goodâ âYAH PARK JISUNG'' you see his amused expression before coughing to regain your composure and trying another strategy âCan u please tell me~â you try to act as soft and cute as possible and although aegyo tears away at your soul, you know jisung couldnât bare the sight of it. âSTOP OH GODâ He tries to cover your face so he wouldnât need to watch your aegyo any longer but you being determined, keep dodging him so he could see every cute action youâd do. âPlease jisung~â âOKOK FINE JUST PLEASE STOP!â You quickly change your expression to a serious one which slightly scares jisung âso tell me what his classroom isâ you say in a threatening tone while stabbing his ribs with your fingers causing him to flinch away, he sighs and slouches showing his surrender, caving into your antics, âfine itâs room 105â âThank you! See that wasnât so hard now was it?â You happily smile at him but you can see he obviously didnât reciprocate the same feelings of joy and instead glaring at you. âEasy for you to say I have to bleach my eyes and tend to my woundsâ Jisung cries out while holding the ribs you just stabbed, you roll your eyes yet again and scoff at his over exaggeration. âYouâre such a kid.â âI'm legit older than you soo youâre the child hereâ him feeling proud at his comeback, looks up to catch your reaction but youâre pouting, hand crossed over your chest upset by the undeniable fact, which he finds kind of adorable. âAnyways why are you so interested in this guy anyways? Do you like him or somethingâ jisung asks with his eyebrow raised while poking your leg suggesting that you do hold feelings for the boy, you feel your face become slightly hot by his suggestion. You swat his hand away and say, âN-no, the answer is no. How can I even like him, I hardly know anything about him. Iâm just...â âyou're just?â you start glaring him for interrupting your sentence and for teasing you. âIâm just interestedâ you finally end your sentence returning a playful wink to jisung just as he did a month ago. âUh huhâ Jisung says with a suspicious tone before turning around showing his back to you and properly watching his friends play in their first game of the season. Not satisfied with his answer you decide to talk a bit more, âwhat, canât a girl be interested in a guy? I canât just sit around dreaming about the day he approaches me, when I want something, whatever that may be, I go get it! Plus donât you have anyone youâre interested in?â Still refusing to turn to you, you assumed he was just ignoring you, not paying attention to your question but jisungâs act backfired when you noticed his ears turn pink after hearing what you asked. âHeoll~, our jisungie has a crush?â (heol is korean slang for omg) you start shaking his shoulders out of excitement of this discovery. Still not looking at you, jisung puts his head in his hands to hide his embarrassment, amused by his timidness, you try to make him turn to you but he won't budging, unable to look at you to spare himself further embarrassment. In truth jisung didnât have anyone he was interested in, so he was confusing himself but it was probably the question itself and the possibility of him having a crush that made him embarrassed, or at least thatâs what he told himself. âYaaaaa jisunggg tell me~â You say in a teasing voice but realizing your strategy wasnât gonna make him turn your way, you smirk hoping that if anything were to get him to turn around itâd be this. So you start tickling him hoping he was even ticklish which fortunately he was, severely ticklish at that too. He starts to spasm due to the tickling laughing uncontrollably using his hands to block your hands and move away from your grasp. âYA STO-â turning around to yell at you, unaware at how close you got when trying to tickle him, he stops mid sentence finally realizing the lack of distance between the two of you. He takes a small gasp interrupting what he was going to say, speechless by the sudden eye contact, but itâs too late your eyes were already locked. âAh there you are~â you say that in such a gentle tone that it was more of a whisper, inaudible to anyone besides you and jisung. Once again you guys find each other in the sunlight, which lights up both of your eyes making them seem as clear as honey, unaware of everyone standing up, cheering as yangyang just scored a goal. Both of you too lost in each other's eyes to notice anything else besides the smallest details in each other's irisâ. However the gaze is suddenly broken when you look around and realize the cause of celebration, clueless to jisung's lingering gaze. âOh my god look yangyang just scored a goal!â You tell the boy in front of you eyes glimmering with admiration, much to jisung's displeasure. Jisung was slightly upset at the soccer player who was the reason for breaking your eye contact, along with the fond expression brought to your face when looking at yangyang rather than himself. And although jisung might never admit it, deep down heâd wish for you to look at him like that even if it was just for a moment.
June: After months in the cold waiting for the arrival of summer, at last June has arrived. The month does not only represent a drastic change in temperature but in emotions as well, this month is when mere feelings can finally develop, for better or for worse.Â
âI like youâ the words you hear coming out of your newest friend, whom youâve become quite close to and bonded with over the past month. âYangyang I-â âitâs okay you donât have to answer, I just wanted to tell youâ The boy says before winking and smiling at you with confidence. In the distance you could hear his friend Hendrey call out to him in a distance and you see him turn around to wave at his friend and turn back around, âanyways y/n I kind of need to go now, my friend is calling meâ He says scratching the back of his neck, reminding you of another male friend of yours, using his thumb to point back to hendrey. He runs off to his friend, not forgetting to turn around, giving a cute wave before Hendrey wraps his arm around his shoulders walking off to who knows where. Now youâre left alone dumbfounded, behind the school building with a stunned expression, while physically you look as if your mind is blank your thoughts were far from that of panicking at your friends sudden confession. In retrospect you were kind of expecting this to happen as at some point considering your relationship was never just friends, you yourself started talking to him with slight romantic interests involved. Although it was, at least for you, a bit too soon. Still baffled by recent events you failed to notice the running footsteps of two boys come from behind you. âYA CHENLE GIVE THAT BACK!â You remain stuck in your headspace as both boys suddenly stop when they notice your strange figure and start whispering to themselves. âYah isn't that y/n?â Chenle says to the jisung who steps closer to get a better look at you standing alone, he turns back to his friend âUh yeah I think so?â Thereâs a second of silence as the boys try to figure out the odd circumstance, before Chenle says, âoh well HAVE FUN!â sticking out his tongue and running away while laughing uncontrollably hoping jisung doesnât try to go after him after successfully figuring out his password and stealing his phone. âYAâ jisung lets out a heavy sigh giving up trying to get his phone back and turning towards the dazed girl, shaking your shoulder a bit to get you out of your trance âY/n?â âH-huh? Jisung? W-what're you doing here?â âI should ask you the same thing, I mean you're all alone out hereâ âOh I was? I guess I didn't notice.â You shake your head trying to forget yangyangâs confession and bring yourself back to reality not noticing jisung turning his head to the side to hide the slight blush after seeing you in a confused state. Confused as to why he had suddenly spaced out looking in another direction, âJisung?â You ask him while tilting your head cutely, an action jisung was still able to see in his peripheral vision which made him want to keep his head turned away even more. It was now you trying to get his attention so you smile realizing the irony of the situation,âY-yeah?â âYou wanna go to class now?â You say smiling before walking ahead of him with a slight skip in your step. âYeah sureâ you hear him say awkwardly following you to class. The two of you walked in silence from that moment on side by side, you taking a few glances to check up on him as he did with you and whenever you two did make eye contact you both gave each other a smile that although a bit awkward, was comforting in some way.Â
It was almost a week after yangyangs confession and since then youâve fortunately managed to avoid him, still confused with what your answer, but it wasnât whether or not you had feelings for him or not because you knew the boy could make you laugh, smile and give you butterflies at soon as you laid eyes on him, but you felt as if it was rushed. You considered it as only a crush than deep feelings for a committed relationship, simply put it was too early. And yet you knew youâd regret rejecting him because you didnât want your relationship to end, rejecting him would risk losing, what would've been a perfect relationship due to your own indecisiveness. Ugh I hate feelings, you trying to decide your answer, was exactly what caused you to get lost during your late night walk you took to clear your head. Realizing that youâd been spacing out, you take a look at your surroundings and you had absolutely no idea where you were. âOh shitâ although what you could recognize is a neon sign at the end of the street that spelled out Convenience Store with a couple tables and seats at the front for eating. Feeling your stomach give a loud growl, you unlock your phone just to check if you have time to spare to eat some ramen, before your mom yells at you for staying out too late, 9:00 only? âOK! Lets go!â you celebrate to yourself, pumping a fist in the air before skipping towards the store and greeting the cashier. While you run your finger through the shelfs scanning the inventory trying to find your favourite ramen, âcheese ramen, cheese ramen, cheese ramenâ All of a sudden you hear the door of the store open due the iconic bell and you hear a voice, a male voice greet the cashier as well, âGood evening~â FUCK! You instantly recognize the voice cursing inwardly at the chances youâd bump into him at a convenience store of all places. You immediately move to the next aisle, away from the entrance praying that he wouldnât see you hiding behind the end of the aisle. âThis literally cannot be happening to meâ âWhat canât be happening to you?â you let out a shriek, jumping back startled to hear ANOTHER voice. Please don't be him, please don't be him, you open your eyes that were shut due to fright, to look up at the stranger that just scared you âJ-jisung?â âYeah who else?â You wonder why you didnât recognize his voice initially but you see his confident grin while looking at your distressed state, it somehow pleased him to see you like this. âSo you gonna answer my question or are you gonna keep on staring at me?â Realizing you must look completely crazy, you fix your posture to look at jisung straight in the eye, ânone of your business.â And you walk away from the boy taking your former spot using the aisle to block anyoneâs view of you. You occasionally peek your head out just to check on the whereabouts of the mystery boy and jisung takes notes of this, standing behind you, hovering like the giant he is. He chuckles at your childishness, âwho are you hiding from?â He asks out loud not caring if anyone heard him, you panic quickly putting your hand over his mouth to shut him up. âJheez can u be any louder? Plus did I not make it clear, none. of. your. business.â Jisung pouts at you before licking the inside of your hand causing you to let go of him and give him a look of a disgust while you try to wipe his saliva off your hand with your sweater, but all he does is flash you a playful smile satisfied with your reaction. You roll your eyes at jisungs shenanigans and turn around to continue your spying seeing that the boy stayed by the cashier examining the gums and candies. Jisung follows your gaze tryna figure out just who youâre so afraid of before realizing who it was and his smile then turned into a thin line. âHim?â âYa what do you mean him? That's yangyang!â You hit jisung offended by his reaction to your crush. Jisung flinches pretending that your hit actually hurt, âyeah did I stutter?â you ignore what jisung just said, too focused on predicting the movements of yangyang, maybe focusing too hard that just when you thought he was going to leave without noticing you, you two accidentally make eye contact and you quickly hide behind the aisle hoping he didn't see you. With your chest going up and down, you struggle to control your heart rate placing your hand on your chest to hopefully help lower it down. Jisung widens his eyes seeing you so flustered, âwhy what happened?â he looks at you, concerned thinking youâre having a heart attack. âHe saw meâ you slide down now sitting on the floor with your legs folded in front of you while you hide your face in your hands breathing into them, trying to calm yourself down. âWhat am I gonna do, what am I gonna doâ you continually repeat those words slightly scaring jisung in the process, although after seeing you in this condition he realized he needed to help in some way. âOkok just stay hereâ patting your head before walking off leaving you to curl up on your own. Jisung walks down the aisle that yangyang just saw you in, already meeting face to face with the boy that had walked in your direction trying to check if it was really you or a hallucination. He stops when he sees jisung, taking a step back confused as to why heâd see him there of all places, âJisun-â âOh hey Yangyang funny seeing you here, isnât it a bit late tho? Based on what jeno and jaemin were talking about I swear you guys have soccer practice in the morning tomorrow at 6, no?â Jisung interrupted yangyang, rambling on about a made up soccer practice, jisung thought of on the spot, while putting his arm around the clueless boy's shoulders pushing him until they made it out of the store and before yangyang could process what was happening. âO-oh they never told me we had practiceâ âoh well good thing you heard it from me, tho you might wanna double check just in case, ok?â ây-yeah ok, but wait-'' but before jisung could hear his question concerning you, and then be forced to answer it he turned around and walked away allowing the convenience store door to shut thus ending their interaction, leaving yangyang completely dumbfounded as to how he ended up outside of the store instead of inside looking for you. Jisung gives a sigh of relief upon returning to the scared figure on the ground in front of him, âItâs okay nowâ you hear those comforting words escape his mouth and you lift up your head to look up at him, âis he gone now?â Suddenly, jisung feels heat rise to his cheeks when looking down at your curled up body, resembling a scared child and somehow your question triggered a protective instinct in jisung, who felt the need to protect you from all the things wrong in the world well at least all the things that you couldnât protect your own self from. Finally calming down after your nervous breakdown you stand up wiping away the dust on your clothes before turning to jisung with a smile on your face, âNow let's go eat some ramen!âÂ
Both of you walk out of the convenience store after finding your cheese ramen and his spicy one, cooking it using the hot water at the store. You both sit down on one of the tables in front of the store met with a cool breeze that cooled the two of you down a bit from the summer heat. After taking a few bites and many loud slurps from the ramen, the two of you take your time to chew creating a moment of silence so jisung turns to you, âso you wanna tell me what happened in there?â You feel obligated to give him an explanation especially after how he helped you out, swallowing your food you lay your chopsticks down and explain to him the situation of yangyang confessing to you and you being nervous and confused. âHeol, yangyang actually likes you? Whaaâ You throw a piece of your trash at him offended by his question, âYa what do you mean actually liked me, what is their not to likeâ you say while flipping your hair back confidently, âMhm you keep telling yourself thatâ his comeback slightly surprising you but you stop there not trying to take anymore insulting comments. âOk but I was really nervous back there, if I wasn't so antisocial or if I actually understood my feelings then maybe yangyang and I wouldâve already been dating and doing whatever couples do.â Thinking about the possibilities you pout and shove a bunch of noodles in your mouth to chew angrily, showing just how stressed out you were. Jisung lets out a laugh which earns a glare from you after being charmed by your inexperience and instead of making fun of your fantasies with yangyang, he empathizes with your situation thinking of a mature answer to help you out. âDo you seriously think anyone understands themselves? Because they donât. People may put on a convincing facade but trust me when I tell you everyone is just as confused as you are. Weâre teenagers for god sakes, weâre supposed to be going through this. You may not know what you want now, but in the future you will and how are you ever gonna figure it out unless you try? I have no idea what youâre feeling right now but I do know itâd be a waste to push those feelings aside because youâre scared. Youâre the only thing stopping yourself and for whatever the reason is to why you're scared, whether that be getting hurt or getting embarrassed, just know it's natural and whatâs meant to happen will happen but only if you allow it to.â In awe of jisungs words and yet curious as to how he developed all that wisdom. You stare at him, trying to read his face trying to understand what he was thinking. Instead you notice the soft glow of the neon sign on his features, his hair and face slightly lit up. You soften your expression while examining the details of the boy in front of you, whoâs sitting with a slight slouch while spacing out, looking down at his ramen that makes you giggle inwardly because it looks like heâs glaring at his own food. You notice just how innocent and vulnerable he looks, and yet on the contrary you are unable to understand his thoughts now matter how you try. You find yourself spotting traits about jisung that you never realized before, like the glimmer in his eye or the sound of his sniffle while eating hot noodles, or how his cheeks puff out in the slightest and his hands inter cross when trying to focus. Even if he was sitting right across from her, he felt beyond reach and in the perspective you found jisung in, he was what they call picture perfect. If only I could just read his mind, even if it was just for a moment. However you stop yourself from staring at your friend for any longer and look down to take in his words, the same words that caught you off guard. You take a minute to absorb jisungs advice and just as quickly as yangyang said those three words to you, three words of the same nature slip out of your mouth, delivering the long awaited answer you were trying so hard to figure out, âI like yangyang.â
If you were able to read this far, I love you~

The change of relationship: breaking point of Yoo Jung
Cheese in the Trap Season 4, Ep. 30
WARNING: This post contains several spoilers of the story released up to this particular chapter. The selected plot points are needed for explanation of the chosen topic. If you haven't but plan to read Cheese in the Trap (much reccomended), please avoid this post or read at your own risk.
Cheese in the Trap (ìčìŠìžëížë©) is a Korean manhwa (aka comic) series created by Soonkki (story and artwork). It was published on online platform Naver Webtoon in 2010-2017. Later the story was published in print, translated into English on Webtoon app, made into a TV series and live action film. The English translation is in its last 4th season and still has around one year worth of material yet to be translated.
The story revolves around Hong Seol, a hardwoking and little overthinking 3rd year university student majoring business management who is suddenly approached by her same major sunbae, very rich, handsome and popular 4th year student Yoo Jung. It would seem Seol hit a jackpot, attracting attention of such a guy as Jung; however, there is no promise of typical romance in sight. Why?
Maybe because Seol knows that Jung is not as nice as he pretends to be in public?
Or maybe because the previous year Seol's university life was turned into hell and the main puppetmaster behind all those evil schemes seems to be... Yoo Jung?
Relationship that began shrouded in misunderstanding, antipathy and suspicion. Can it ever be turned into romance? Or is it just another Jung's masterplan to get back at Seol?
THE ANALYSIS
In this post I will:
1) do a quick recap of "Jung's attitude towards Seol" evolution (in approximate data graph form in interval -10 to 10 because they're business majors, duh);
2) explain what happened in this episode, what was mistranslated in Jung's monologue and what character details are hidden here;
3) clear the mistranslation of Jung's repeated "Seol" in this episode.
Important parts are highlighted with colour (setting/situation) or bolded (particular events). The words in "..." are actual quotations. The words in '...' are rephrased sentences. Lets begin!
[1st Part] RECAP
How Jung's attitude towards Seol changed since the beginning of previous year aka flashback year? Jung returned from military service to the 3rd year, Seol returned to the 2nd year; they first met during comeback drink party. Seol got wasted (she can't drink much), picked up thrown ciggarettes from the ground outside (for Bora) and kept side-eyeing Jung all evening (how he spilled drink on clingy girls). Jung's first impression of Seol was bad, around 0 to -1 (she's "pathetic"). Then Seol kept saying hello and smiling to him (he was sunbae and popular/respected as well) but Jung flat out ignored her (thought she's another leecher).
During Jaewoo's study group Seol was the only girl there (they thought she outsmarted other girls and came alone to be closer to Jung); Jung caught her laughing at him (he thought she was mocking him and saw through his "nice sunbae" mask; she was just laughing at her imagination of Jung as aloof prince) and his impression dropped to -5 as he really disliked her now. Seol tripped on waxed floor and Jung caught her saying "Be careful" (not about tripping but about her behaviour towards him).
Seol then badmouthed Jung in public (said he was distanced, chose with whom to mingle, acted a bit fake); he found out about it and started to hate Seol (drop to -8). Seol tripped again and dropped papers, Jung kicked them and said "You keep making mistakes. I told you to be careful" (again not about tripping but about making him seem WEIRD to others in public). So he began to act nice with Seol to make Juyeon (black-haired girl who crushed on Jung) jealous and ruin Seol's life (in study related matters)
Then Younggon badmouthed Jung during basketball game (something like 'Jung pities you clingy people', which was true). When everyone turned their backs on Younggon, who went to talk to him, comfort him with snacks? Seol. Jung saw that and likely thought 'So these Jung haters team up now, huh? They deserve each other'. Jung's hatred for Seol got even bigger (drop to -10). When Younggon came to Jung asking for forgiveness, Jung was tired of his sh*t and wanted to go home already (he sighed and ruffled his hair). Juyeon told Younggon he and Seol would be a great couple; they asked for Jung's opinion and he was like 'Yeah whatever you would look good' with a fake smile to be left alone and not involved in unnecessary rumours and drama. He also didn't stop Inha from taking his phone and writing Younggon (pretending to be Jung and advising to send Seol gifts etc.), because, well, he disliked Seol and couldn't be bothered thinking about her. However, Jung had no idea how far Younggon would go during summer break (stalking, threatening and assaulting Seol).
When Seol came straight to Jung and asked if he really told Younggon Seol liked him (and Jung found out how obsessed Younggon was) Jung was shocked and felt bad. Yes, he hated Seol but didn't wish her to be hurt/threatened. Then Juyeon sent homeless woman to the library where Seol was and Seol got cut with a glass. It was Jung (if I remember correctly) who secretly called security guard to save Seol (yet Seol thought Jung was there knowing what happened and did nothing). Jung was really mad with Juyeon for this.
More things have happened that I forgot a bit, but essentially Jung kept noticing he and Seol are somewhat similar. He overheard her phone call with her parents and learned she was also lonely and not fully appreciated by her family. They both were diligent and hardworking in studying (both often were the ones who were used in team projects and ended up doing most of the work, or even did all work alone so their grade would not be affected by other people's laziness). They disliked petty drama. And found it difficult to speak their worries to others (Seol was too self-conscious and afraid to burden her friends, Jung had no one to speak to at all). So Jung's hatred for Seol started to decrease and he occasionally found himself thinking about her and even smiling when doing that (which made him frustrated and confused).
Jung looked for opportunities to speak with Seol but she always ran away, avoided to be left with him alone. During festival Jung made her a part of his preparation group, assigned her an easy job (sort out boxes) so she wouldn't overwork herself as she usually does and so that they could have time to talk alone. Jung didn't know silverware arrived earlier than planned and those boxes were heavy instead of light (Seol thought Jung gave her that job on purpose, to get back at her and just make her more miserable). While working they kept glancing at each other (Seol saw Jung wipe his sweaty face and cough - he caught a cold and felt really sick, but kept working). As others ran home early avoiding work, finding ridiculous excuses, Jung said Seol will help him clean up, but when everyone left, he told her to go just home (no one will appreciate her sacrifice and hard work, he knew that from experience). Seol wanted to leave, but seeing how Jung was sick, she went into rain to place directions towards their bar space. As she got back to take her bag, she saw Jung cleaned the place and lied back on the sofa, mumbling with fever. She couldn't just leave him there, bought him medicine, placed a wet towel on his head and fell asleep on the other couch. Jung woke up feeling better and was surprised to see Seol who was also sick and grabbed his hand in her feverish sleep (Seol's habit). The way they both tended to each other as both were sick (such caring gesture) made them closer but still confused about each other.
Jung left umbrella to Seol (she didn't take one and got wet while placing directions outside) and next day didn't take it back immediately between lectures so they could speak in person when she returns it, but that plan failed (Seol was too sick to keep running after Jung; she didn't want to be alone with him; the students' pissed her off saying 'Poor Jung, got sick working all alone'). In episode 29 sick Seol mistook Jung as Euntaek and asked him for money (initially 10$, then changed her mind and said 2$ was enough). Jung was happy to help her (he knew Seol wasn't like other students who hanged out with Jung only because of his money; also she approached him first and he hoped now they could talk) and offered 40$ (possibly all the cash he had on him, as Jung seemed to favour his card for paying). However, Seol recognized him and ran away again thinking Jung was showing off his money and pity, humiliating her. He followed her and saw her crouched (she vomited), tried to approach her but couldn't (street between them was drawn as an abyss); during next break Jung bought a health drink for Seol but she collapsed and was carried to the infirmary.
Then this episode happened (explained in detail in 2nd part). After that, Jung found out Seol was taking a study break. He was desperate to keep her at university so he could finally get close to her (it was going to be Jung's last year, so if she took a break, they would likely never meet again). Having no other idea how to do that, Jung blackmailed Assistant Seo to make his research paper dissapear (Assistand Seo had stolen and used Jung's credit card, so Jung gave him a chance to be forgiven; once research paper was gone, Jung's grade would drop, Seol would become first in business department, get the scholarship instead of Jung and stay for another year). Then the first chapter of CITT happens when Jung approaches Seol all smiles and offers to buy her dinner (bomb food and triangle rice). So during this 'realization' period which started after Younggon's assault, Jung's like/dislike bar towards Seol jumped from -10 to a decent 8.
[2nd Part] EPISODE EXPLANATION + JUNG'S MONOLOGUE MISTRANSLATION + CHARACTER DETAILS
This whole chapter is from Jung's POV, so it's a rare opportunity not only to see him behave but also hear what he's thinking. Infirmary part is the breaking point is Seol-Jung relationship: it's Jung's last effort to stop being bothered and confused by his feelings towards Seol; and his utter defeat as his opinion of Seol changed completely. Jung was getting worried of her and her health before, but here we see the extent of it. Jung is super diligent when it comes to studying (a bit later, during their first movie date at the cinema Jung was hangover and asked Seol to wake him up if he falls asleep; but it was Jung who stayed up watching boring historical film without breaking attention because it was homework; while Seol quickly fell asleep). It is absolutely outrageous to see Jung deliberately skip important lecture (which has attendance marks) in the middle of it just to go and see Seol. It shows how much he worried about her without even realizing.
Then Jung quietly stared at Seol for a long time with a serious, cynical face as if criticizing, evaluating. Although Jung has dated many girls before (they asked him out and he said ok), he has never had any romantic feelings for them and had no experience with love. So here Jung tried to rationalize whatever newly experienced softness he was feeling towards Seol, remembering past incidents (how she fell several times and got her hand cut). But his concentration broke as soon as Seol moved and Jung was controlled by the unconscious desire to touch her HAND. Seol woke up (delirious) so Jung put his HAND over her eyes to make her sleep (it mirrors how Seol put her HAND over Jung's eyes to calm his rage after Sangcheol pushed them and Jung hurt his HAND). Seol grabbed Jung's HAND half asleep, thanked he was still there and told him to go already. Since she spoke in banmal (informal language), she must have mistaken Jung for Euntaek again, as she never spoke informally with Jung before. Obviously a HAND motif is extremely important in the story. Seol keeps grabbing people's hands (usually Jung's after they became close, ex. when he asked her to become his girlfriend, during volunteering etc.) because she pushed away grandmother's hand; Seol had her hand cut by homeless woman; Inho got his hand hurt during assault; Jung's habit to tap his fingers when he's thinking. I can say this hand grabbing was one of the deciding elements that defeated Jung and last effort of resistance, but why exactly this gesture has such an impact on him is revealed only at the end of the story.
The part time job paper he found in her pocket softened him more. Jung's monologue is MISTRANSLATED in English version on Webtoon app; in essence Jung said he was frustrated about his feelings towards Seol but now feels better (weird), it means he changed (that's weirder). Seol caused a chaos of emotions inside him and she was the only one who could contain that chaos and bring back peace to his heart. He had no proof they could get along as their relationship was dissapointing so far but he wanted to try once more and make sure of it. He admitted he had never regretted his actions so much as he did now (things he did to Seol). Jung realized he couldn't run away from Seol, was fascinated by her, worried (her call with parents), touched by her kindness (she cared for him at festival), apologetic (she crouched after asking for 2$). Suddenly realization hit Jung like a lightning -Â he lost the battle and got taken over by affection and crush towards Seol. Jung fell in love for the first time. And here started his obsession with food and having dinner with Seol.
[3rd Part] MISTRANSLATION OF "SEOL"
Why Jung kept repeating "Seol" like crazy? The way it's translated in English on Webtoon app, there is no difference between Jung addressing Seol as he first got into the infirmary and at the end of the chapter. In original Korean version there is a huge difference. For ex. Seol never adressed Jung as Jung; he was Yoo Jung or Sunbae (the latter even after they started dating). Titles of hierarchy or full names are used between people who are not very close and are in official respectful relationship, mostly professional. Family members, close friends and lovers use banmal (informal speech) and address each other using each other's name (there are exceptions; also Bora and Euntaek also often called Seol as Hong/Hong Seol but it may have been a tease). So people who are very close would usually add ending -ah to other person's name as a form of endearment.
When Jung first entered the infirmary, he adressed Seol formally as "Hong Seol" (a fellow student and hoohae of the same major). But after Jung realized he fell in love with Seol, he smiled and called her name softly as "Seol-ah", suggesting she became a close person to him, a dear friend and a possible future lover. Being first time in love, Jung was fascinated by how lovely it sounds and kept happily repeating it.
AFTERTHOUGHTS
CITT emphasizes the importance of subjectivity of one's point of view. This post was written explaining Jung's point of view, how he saw Seol and judged her behaviour. However the story is written mainly from Seol's point of view, so the reader identifies with her and can clearly understand only her actions and thoughts. Most of the time Jung looks weird, unreadable and suspicious to the reader because Seol sees him like that, affected by her past experiences which were caused by misunderstanding between them (and also because Jung is a complex person in general who on top of that is inexperienced in expressing himself clearly).
Nothing like that would have happened if Jung and Seol had sat down and talked everything out in the beginning. But these two do not openly speak about things. Instead they observe, overthink and internalize, judging people by subjective patterns of their own experience. Seol and Jung are similar in this appproach, only their patterns differ.
Seol grew up nice, diligent, disliked troubles and drama, smiled at sunbaes and was often underappreciated. And Jung was always at the center of attention. Seol thoght it was unfair, but she didn't know that people hanged out with Jung only for his status, money and connections, looking for personal gain. When Seol tried to be nice to Jung because she was just raised like that, Jung thought she was another leecher as he only knew such people.
Money was a touchy issue in Seol's family and she had to work several part time jobs to earn for tuition. Jung never thought about money at all or give it much importance. He was collecting expensive watches because he hd nothing better to do (habit came from the childhood as he was lonely and wanted to have a hobby). His issue was not using money for other people (paying for team dinners; Jung is generous) but for people using him only for money. So when Seol paid for her dinner (like she was raised to do) she thought Jung considered her a fool. Actually, he was impressed and surprised (sge's a first who did that) and even felt a little mocked. So he had no issue to give her more cash than she asked - 'I have money, you need it as you're sick, take it all'. She felt humiliated as if Jung was showing off.
Jung made her part of his festival preparation group only to have a chance to speak with her. She thought he did it to make her life hard. Whatever nice Jung did later, he was misunderstood by Seol as having evil intentions. Even when he "lost his paper" and gave up his scholarship so that she would stay at University, he avoided telling her the truth as Seol could (and eventually did) misunderstand and judge him resorting to blackmail (Seol is very righteous). But she would not open to him or ask him for help otherwise, so Jung had to repeatedly help her from behind the scenes and later get scolded.
Also, I wanted to clarify Jung's line "I'm all you got" from episode 27 that generated a lot of discussions about his 'inappropriate, sketchy and manipulative' behaviour. The sentence does sound creepy, but it was partly the fault of translation. Actually this sentence does not mean Seol has no family or friends and has to rely solely on Jung. It is a mistake to take this one sentence out of context, as the sentence was a continuation of Jung's train of thought about unconditional love and trust; about putting someone always first.
Read the colour coded dialogue below:
Jung Seol
"Next time tell me anything. Even if it's just a suspicion. Didn't we agree to share everything? That night, at my house... We talked about it."
"Yes we did, that conversation. Well, I was suspicious of him (Sangcheol) for being a thief so I had to be cautious."
"Seol, when you get suspicious, you had a good reason to be. You can tell me."
"What? How can you be so sure? Aren't you trusting me a little too much?"
"Of course. Who else would believe you and take your side if not me? See? I'm all you got."
Jung never experienced unconditional love and trust; his father never put Jung, his son, first above everything else. Jung was told to give beloved picture frame (mom's treasure) to a boy who simply liked it. Father told Jung to stop whining and be nice - apparently how other people saw Jung was more important than what Jung wanted. Jung's father considered him weird and the lack of trust was expressed by making Baek twins spy on Jung and report back (twins were manipulated too). Father even seemed to like twins' company better than Jung's as father was always smiling and laughing around them, but giving Jung a cold shoulder and scorned face. In Jung's mind, he was never first to Inho too although they were best friends. Jung went to see Inho's favourite musician and get autograph in Inho's name. And Inho kept reporting to Jung's father about Jung, laughed about father liking him more than Jung and caused a scandal about being a second son in the family. People at work and University also don't care about Jung as a person, only about his status in society.
Seol's life is different, she has family and friends yet she can relate to Jung a lot too. In episode 29 Seol said: "No matter how hard I try, there is someone else who's on a whole different level from the beginning. Do I really need to feel this way even at school?" and a picture of Seol's brother Joon appeared. Seol was never put first too - her brother as the only son in the family was the most important. Grandma used to favour Joon and bring him more snacks. Parents sent him to USA to study (Seol also wanted that) and sent him money frequently but Joon stopped his studies and went home. Meanwhile, Seol took a break and had several jobs to earn money for her tuition. No one at home asked how she felt, what she wanted; no one noticed how sick she was (father said no one around the house was useful). Seol had Bora and Euntaek but they had their own problems at home and Seol couldn't find strength to tell them everything thst bothered her. This lead Seol to keep stuff to herself and just brace through it alone.
For Jung, Seol is his girlfriend, the girl he loves and by far the closest person he has. Despite rocky start she eventually tried to know him behind the façade. She bought him a watch (he collects them) with her scarce savings when her time, interest and honesty were more than enough for him. After arguing she would still come and try to work it out and understand him (the night they talked at Jung's house). She often worried about him to the point where she thought she would trouble him with her "small" problems. So that's what Jung talked about - he wanted Seol to share even the smallest worries with him, not bottle everything inside. When friends can be very close, they both are a couple. For Jung couple means people who are ultimate, the most important for each other. "I'm all you got" means "the ultimate/the last one/ the only one to remain with you when everyone turns their backs on you and leaves". It means that as her boyfriend, Jung is the only one who ALWAYS puts Seol first above others, supports her and is on her side no matter what, even if she is wrong or mistaken. That is unconditional love and trust they haven't experienced from their family and friends, so have to give to each other instead.
END

Americaâs Got Talent: Season 14 - Finals
Well now I feel like a jerk! I ranked Emanne and Benicio as my Bottom 2 in my âRooting Forâ list last week (though to be fair, between them, VoS and DYC, the factors that ranked them in the order they were in were practically nonexistent, because it was too close to even think), but I had no idea that BOTH of them had birthdays this week (and that Emanneâs was tomorrow). I mean no disrespect to the birthday boy and girl...
And again, I must emphasize that I have nothing against any of the acts that made it this far (barring some not-so-great performances from some of them). But when there are several acts that deserved to be here more than several of the acts that ARE here (oh, how naive we were to believe that Marcin EVER had a chance), and almost every act just feels like part of a big mushy sap monster, it was hard to feel much excitement going into tonight...But I kept the most open mind I could...
Letâs do what the judges arenât willing to do and compare everyone based on their pros, cons and overall experience...by doing a Top 10 list!
...Oh yeah, and...Whoop-dee-doo, Finals and stuff...Letâs just get to it...
10: Detroit Youth Choir. Itâs their audition all over again, but with more Nazi salutes! ...Iâm sorry, I couldnât help myself...But seriously, they either didnât have time to prepare a new song, or something happened keeping them from performing what they were ORIGINALLY gonna do...Either way, Macklemore is gonna be there tomorrow, so does that mean theyâre gonna perform it a THIRD time!? Two nights in a row!? I guess Iâm biased since this is the act that single-handedly ruined the Finals for me (just ONE guitarist in their place would have made all the difference in the world), but I really did honestly see a lot of potential in this act, and itâs kind of a shame that they fizzled out after they peaked at the Quarter-Finals...
9: Tyler Butler-Figueroa. It might be my anger at the Cowellization infesting these Finals why Iâm putting Simonâs Golden Buzzer this low on the list after being overall positive to him throughout the game, but this one felt like a mess to me! The violin was scratchy and hard to listen to, it sounded like he couldnât keep up with the backing-track, and there were no unique dances or staging to really help the entertainment value...At the end of the day, this kid really IS one of the acts that didnât deserve to make it this far over other certain acts, despite how much Iâve enjoyed him overall...Brian King Joseph is coming back tomorrow; Maybe heâll teach the kid a few lessons and help him hone his skills, because I know Tyler WILL be a great dancing violinist someday...Heâs just not there yet...
8: Benicio Bryant. Well, the Benicio Bros are still by his side, even after he looked and sounded more lost than ever tonight! Itâs a shame, because I still found his song to be fairly catchy...I mean, heâs no Robert Finley, but I see a lot of potential in him as well! He just needs to get over his stage fright is all...And maybe cut down on the Mr. Rogers sweaters...I WANTED to say Cosby, but I was worried about what that would imply about him...
7: Emanne Beasha. No real step up from before...She seemed a little shaky as well, but it didnât bring the performance down as badly as Benicio...Uhhh, Happy Birthday to both of them?
6: Kodi Lee. Once again, this wasnât his best! Is everyone just in denial or something!? I still stick by my opinion that he was at his best during his first two performances! But what do I know!? Iâm just some schmuck writing countdown lists on a website thatâs getting sold (yeah, heads up Frank, we might have to jump platforms again). Nothing I say is gonna stop Kodi from taking the win tomorrow night...
5: Ndlovu Youth Choir. I knew it was only a matter of time before they performed this song, and it was as fun and upbeat as I could have asked for! That being said, this didnât have anything to offer that they didnât give us before...THAT being said, they are definitely still the superior Youth Choir, regardless of which one gets more votes tomorrow...
4: Ryan Niemiller. Not the funniest material weâve heard from him either, but I still love his energy and presence! I guess Iâm committing a hate crime by not voting for him, but technically EVERYONE tonight qualifies for that...
3: Voices of Service. Maybe itâs because I came into tonight with a more open mind than last week, but whereas I quickly forgot about these folks before, tonight they were hands down my favorite singers! I guess I could go on about the same old stuff regarding their harmonies as well as their individual talents (I donât even remember hearing much from the skinny guy before, but he might actually be the best singer of the bunch next to the lady!) Itâs clear why they made it this far to begin with, but at least they have the talent to back up those cheap ân easy votes...
2: Light Balance Kids. THIS is the kind of creative, fun, well-choreographed, well-made performance Iâve been waiting for from these kids throughout the entire live shows! It had the same charm as their Judge Cuts performance, but with even more nicely-done effects! Kinda wish they put more focus on being this hip 90s-style youth group throughout the season...But either way, this should TOTALLY be the new âLetâs all go to the snack bar!â that plays before the movie...The goofy presentation with the food monsters would fit PERFECTLY with âIt Chapter Twoâł! Youâll float too!
1: V.Unbeatable. They REALLY ramped up the crazy flips THIS time! Not much else to say...Itâs good to know that theyâre as popular as they are, but will it be enough to give them the win that they most definitely deserve...? Well, if nothing more they will DEFINITELY be in the Top 3 tomorrow...
You can tell Howie was trying to carefully dance around saying that this was the the âBest Finals Everâ, because he was contractually obligated to say it like he is every year, but I can definitely see why Simon would say that! These finals were everything he could have dreamed of! Oh, so many tear-jerking Cinderella stories...Itâs enough to make a TV producer moan in ecstasy!
But when factoring in what actually MATTERS, tonight was about as lackluster as a line-up like this could have suggested...Only a few REALLY rose to the standards of the Finals...
My Votes: Appropriately enough, the two acts I was rooting for were also the best performers hands down tonight! For that, I used all three voting methods to give them as many votes as I could...
Result Predictions: Thereâs a case to be made for everyone tonight, but I do have a few observations...First of all, Ndlovu will probably be near the bottom in the votes, because they never had the support that the other Youth Choir had throughout the season...And I think the reason for that is the old factor of DYC being a group of dozens of kids, who each have numerous family members to vote for them along with all of the people giving them the sympathy vote...Ndlovu doesnât have this luxury, not only because there are less of them, but also because the majority of their relatives are clearly still in South Africa, where they canât vote for this show...This is why Ndlovu ended up in the Judgesâ Choice TWICE, whereas DYC keeps getting easy passes in each round...
Iâd like to think that LBK will get enough of that variety vote (that ESPECIALLY seems common in the Finals) to end up in the Top 3 like all acts of their nature tend to land...But they havenât been as popular as the original Light Balance, and they might not have begged for nearly as many sympathy votes as say, Tyler or VoS...Chances are, the variety votes might end up concentrated on V.Unbeatable...
Which brings us to our main candidates for the Grand Prize: V.Unbeatable and Kodi Lee...It seems practically guaranteed that they will both be in the Top 3...I say Top 3, because there is a side of me that predicts that there may be an act coming between them for the Runner-Up spot! Whenever there are these two acts, one of them a cool variety act and the other some singer thatâs been held up on a pedestal throughout the game, and they are BOTH being considered as candidates for the win...itâs usually not the both of them in the Top 2...Usually one of them gets a shock elimination in Third (and more often than not, itâs the cool variety act), and some dark-horse might end up as the Runner-Up...Who that might be is hard to call, but Iâm actually considering Benicio being that act standing side-by-side next to Kodi at the end, because again, the Benicio Bros are ever dedicated, to the same degree that Angelica Haleâs fanbase was...
So Iâm gonna go ahead and do what Frank usually does by predicting what I think the final rank will be...Iâll keep it pessimistic just to avoid being let down TOO much tomorrow...
10: Ndlovu Youth Choir
9: Emanne Beasha
8: Ryan Niemiller
7: Voices of Service
6: Light Balance Kids
5: Tyler Butler-Figueroa
4: Detroit Youth Choir
3: V.Unbeatable
2: Benicio Bryant
1: Kodi Lee
As for which guest performers will perform with who, I already made my guesses for Tyler and DYC, but I hear that Chris Jericho will perform with Ryan, and Iâm willing to bet that Cher will be Kodiâs partner...I'll leave everyone else to surprise me, as opposed to what the final results will be...
(Sigh) Now letâs get this season over with...

Disaster Preparedness and Management in the Local Community
Disasters are one of the most natural and recurring events that can strike a particular area at any given time. These can range from calamities such as typhoons and floods, to devastating hazards such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions. The Philippines is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world, and its natural state causes us Filipinos to prepare, implement, and develop disaster management plans to increase our resilience and lessen our vulnerability to approaching disasters.Â
With this, local communities such as barangays have also implemented their own disaster risk preparedness in order to educate and orient its community members on what to do during such events.Â
My barangay is situated at Barangay 502, located in the City of Manila under the administrative district of Sampaloc. Itâs total voting population is approximately 400 citizens, and it is currently ran by the administration of Mr. Jose M. Dee.
Before becoming the current Barangay Chairman, he first began as a Barangay Kagawad for served for 19 years before deciding to run for Chairman. In his history of work, he had seen and experience the different adversities of the Barangay. According to Mr. Dee, the major hazards and risks that frequently struck the barangay are typhoons and drastic floods. He emphasized that among the calamities he had experienced, Typhoon Ondoy was by far the worst and most devastating. It was during this time that the streets and drainage systems in the district of Sampaloc have not been renovated, and so most houses that lined the shallow streets were consumed by floods. Moreover, the series of typhoons that followed after Ondoy also made it difficult for the barangay officials to clean the surrounding area and drain the leftover flood.Â
In my initial interview with Mr. Dee, I learned that the issues confronting the community were mostly typhoons and floods. I believe that these disasters happening in the community is the result of our human activities, such as throwing trash recklessly in the streets and not having proper waste disposal. Mr. Dee said that one of the founding problems in the barangay that caused drastic floods were poor drainage system, and this convinced me that us residents also have a negative contribution to the hazards that happen in the community. Our ignorance and lack of discipline make the effects of hazards worse, thereby increasing the damage to our community.
Mr. Dee claimed that typhoons and storms struck the barangay annually during the rainy seasons of June to October. He and the other officials already anticipate the incoming rains during this time, and they made sure to listen to the radio and news announcements to effectively prepare for calamities.Â
In the event that calamities do strike the community, Mr. Dee stated that areas with the most evident damage will be those houses in the shallower streets. The most affected will be those residents who only have single-story homes with no second floors, or those who do not have homes at all. Calamities can damage the infrastructures, buildings, and houses of residents and can cause diseases and illnesses in humans such as fever, dengue, and leptospirosis.
The disaster situation in my community can be greatly related to the conflicts faced by the Philippines during calamities. When typhoons and storm surges hit a particular area in the country, it suffers the same amount of damage as anywhere else. It causes flooding, it ruins communities, and it creates communicable diseases that cause death to humans annually. This is where the importance of disaster risk preparedness and management comes in. Â It should be duly recognized and implemented by all communities in the country so that we could have a better response and preparation for such disasters, as well as to rehabilitate and recover faster afterwards.Â
The barangayâs disaster preparedness and management involves improving the waste management and disposal of the areas and frequent checking of the infrastructureâs conditions. During calamities, he and the barangay officials also monitor the flood levels and check the safety of its residents. Sometimes, they also give out free lugaw or champorado. In the future, Mr. Dee plans to place fire extinguishers around the barangay, and to conduct more fire and earthquake drills for its residents. He is also planning to construct a bigger and wider court to create a hazard-free space in times of earthquakes.Â
After the interview, my dad and I took a short walk around the neighborhood to take note of the communityâs safe and hazardous places.Â
The first thing I noticed right away was the location of the barangay hall of my community. Mr. Dee owns a kariton business next to the barangay hall, which was exactly beside a gas station. I identified this as a hazardous place. When a fire is situated in or near the barangay hall, it could grow faster and become bigger due to the presence of flammable materials. When it comes in contact with the gas station, it could cause a massive explosion.Â
A safe place in the community is the open court facing Espanya boulevard. It is not as big to cater all of its residents in one space, but earthquake drills and stimulations can be practiced here for good measure and preparedness.Â
Furthermore, I also identified the best practices implemented by the Barangay. The boat in the first picture can be seen at the open court, where it is used by the officials in times of high and damaging flood. Some outposts in the community also have its designated water level measurement to determine if the flood is still passable or not.Â
These wall inscriptions found near the barangay hall also serve as best practices in reminding its residents in times of disaster. The second photo shows a list of emergency hotlines that  people can contact for immediate help. Meanwhile, the third photo displays the different laws and regulations for people in the barangay to follow. It also emphasized on the regulations for garbage disposal so as to prevent future drastic flooding.
OVERALL REFLECTION AND SYNTHESIS
After conducting my BDRRM kwentuhan and community walk, I came to the realization how important disaster risk preparedness and management is in readying all of us for crisis, disasters, and calamities. Recognizing the impacts of disasters is equally important as determining the things we can do to prepare for it and recover from it right away. Moreover, the community walk taught me that it is essential to be familiar to your community and its potential hazards. One of my barangays main problems were flooding due to inefficient waste disposal, and being aware of my community helps me to discipline myself better in throwing trash. Being knowledgeable of your surroundings can contribute greatly to your safety and chances of survival.Â
We need to address the issues of disaster in our country because it could also mean our suffering and inability to survive. Being aware of the impacts of disasters enables us to plan, produce, and implement strategies to combat its damaging effects. It is also a way for us to identify our resources and skills to increase our resiliency and cope better in times of disaster. We can address these adversities by improving on community planning that will establish the needs of the community members and its susceptibility to hazards, making community disaster evacuation maps more accessible and available to all citizens, and conducting frequent assessments of vulnerable communities.Â
Similarly in my own way, I could use this knowledge gained in my NSTP to raise awareness and educate people on what we should do in times of disasters.Â

That One Important Question
Summary: Ron and Hermione have finally tied the knot, but their best man and childhood friend Harry has another surprise for everyone in store.
Notes: Itâs the Gingers and Books wedding and the Love Beyond Magic proposal story in one. While not mentioned in this story, Harry and Issa are actually going to have a small intimate wedding back at San Francisco by either late June or early July, sorry folks: itâs their choice not to have a big fat wedding. The ring involved looks like this. A special cameo and shout out to @self-shipping-angel and my good friend from deviantART JENNY-87 with Sayeko, Levi, Erwin, Mike, & Hanjiâs and Jenny & Snooperâs guest appearance here.
Setting: A Hotel and a Garden event venue in London, England; March 29, 2019
Tags: A wedding and an engagement in one event, Ginny has an angst-riddled epiphany here, Mari, Jenny, & Sayekoâs worlds will collide, self shipping crossovers, screw some of the senseless Battle of Hogwarts deaths: Fred, Remus, and Tonks are still alive in my SIâs world (and the same can be said for Sayekoâs too)!
âForever can never be enough for me, To feel like Iâve had long enough with you, Forget the world, we wonât let them see, But thereâs one thing to left do, Now that the weight is lifted, Love had surely shifted my way...â - Train, Marry Me
Mari was pacing up and down the hallway of the hotel the wedding party and select guests were staying in London as the preparations of her adopted big brother Harryâs friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Grangerâs wedding were ongoing. She was being nervous about this for months on end due in part of Harryâs unpleasant experience dating Ronâs little and only sister Ginny after the Battle of Hogwarts. Mari has always been wary of Ginny for years as she was the main reason why Harry was scared of dating another woman until her friend and his girlfriend Issa started dating him, changing it in a different direction. Some good friends of their, Jenny and her cat detective husband Snooper, decided to join in the fun more than a week or two ago and the 8 of them traveled on an afternoon United Airlines flight from San Francisco to London a few days ago so Harry get ready for the wedding and spend some time in the city & the Wizarding World there despite some opposition from unsavory wizards and witches in the area.
She, Jenny, Issa, and Kairi had their makeup done earlier and they were already dressed up in simple cocktail dress, just killing time wondering whatâs going to happen during the wedding. The previous time Harry went to a Weasley wedding, it ended in a total disaster near the end with Death Eaters haunting him down like it was open season hunting and wrecking havoc in the reception. Today however, it is different: Ron and Hermione wonât have Death Eaters to worry about ruining their big day, and Mari couldnât be any happier for them and, of course, her big brother being there for them as they will say their vows soon.
As she went by walking frantically, she could overheard a soft gentle voice catching up on her as if it was drawing close to her, âHello there. Harry had just informed me, Levi, and the rest of the Corps about you and your friends long before todayâs event. Are you Mari Tan?â
Mari turned to see that a well-toned woman (approximately Harryâs age) already made for the wedding, dressed in mint, and with lilac hair which reminds her similarly of another of Harryâs friends, Nymphadora Tonks-Lupin, who was also invited to the party with her husband (and Harryâs friend/mentor) Remus and their son Teddy, waving back at her. Speechless that someone would know her name despite just meeting for the first time, she had an internal panic attack with little words to speak of before regaining her composure to talk to the lilac haired stranger, âYes, I am. Iâm his adopted little sister to be exact: the Shobe if you want the Hokkien definition. Iâve heard that Ron and Hermione have known you for a long time and Harry shared the same birthday as you. Whatâs your name please? I canât call you Miss Jane Doe for long.â
The woman giggled a bit before continuing their talk, âYou sure have quite the mouthful of things to say. Actually, Iâm married, although I can see why: Leviâs meeting with the guys right now delivering Hermioneâs gift to Ron along with the rest of our group.â
âOkay⊠Apologies for that,â Mari blushed from embarrassment at her mistake of getting the womanâs civil status wrong.
âDonât feel bad for yourself though, I never knew that Harry have sisters before until he broke the news to a majority of us after the Battle of Hogwarts,â she calmly reassured her, âI can relate to his adoption story too as I was taken in by Hermioneâs family as well. Anyway, Iâm Sayeko Ackerman, Lieutenant in the Survey Corps. Leviâs both my commander in the Corps and my husband, and weâre also good friends with your brother. Iâm also the bridesmaid in the wedding as well.â
âWhy, gee thanks!â Mari felt like blushing again before she chatted up a storm again, âWe even had another sister in Kairi. She was orphaned like Harry (albeit through different circumstances) as well during the attack of her home realm before coming over to the States and being taken in by our family.â
âDid you just mentioned me, Mari? I heard talking from you and, oh⊠Hello stranger,â Kairi asked as she dropped in the chat between the two women with Issa, Kirby, and Philip walking up to them when she (and the others) saw her older sister talking to someone they didnât saw before.
âHey, Mari. Whoâs that lilac haired woman chatting with you?â Issa inquired on her talk buddy.
âWhy⊠This here is Sayeko Ackerman: sheâs an old friend of Harry and Hermioneâs adopted sister,â she introduced Sayeko to the group.
âHiii!â Kirby waved back at her with his tiny arms.
âSo I see we got some company right now, isnât it, Mari?â Philip cheekily noticed Mariâs new chat mate in a friendly manner.
âEither way, Iâm Kairi, Harryâs other adopted sister,â the youngest of the siblings introduced herself to Sayeko.
Issa went next and continued the intros, âIâm Isabelle Miravelez, but please call me Issa. Iâm dating your friend Harry for nearly 10 years soon by September.â
âOh wow, thatâs nice to know. I do remember that he wasnât in good terms with Ginny these days, though amendments are on their way for sure,â Sayeko nodded back.
âKaa-bii! Kabi, Kabi, Kabi!â Kirby squeaked in joy as he jumped up and down on the floor.
âAnd Iâm Philip Hamilton,â Philip greeted back politely, âYour friend had accidentally brought back me back from the dead with another friendâs tablet two months ago.â
Sayekoâs eyes grew wide in shock upon hearing those words coming from Philipâs mouth, her hair and eyes changed color accordingly to that emotion before regaining her sense and replied back, âErm⊠I donât really know how to react to this properly without freaking out; I honestly donât recall Harry bringing someone back from the dead, let alone by accident, until what happened to you months ago. I do apologize if I acted inappropriately to your situation right now.â
âOh no, itâs fine, Sayeko, weâve moved on from it nowadays,â he reassured her as her normal blue eyes and lilac hair returned back to normal, âEven Ron and Hermione were surprised as well since they werenât with us when it happened. They only knew when we met them up via video chat on my birthday last January.â
âAnd they too recovered from the shock as well?â Sayeko asked about the soon-to-be-married coupleâs reactions to which Mari nodded back as a reply when two more joined their little talk.
âHey guys, we just heard you guys talking to⊠Oh hello!â Snooper came in as he and Jenny walked towards them to the lobby when the couple saw Sayeko was with them.
âSo you guys must be Mariâs friends as well?â the lilac-haired Survey Corps lieutenant asked them out of curiosity.
âWe sure are, Jenny and Issa have been best friends since the latter to moved to the States years ago,â Snooper replied back.
âThatâs nice to hear about,â Sayeko replied, âItâs like weâre in a small world right now: knowing each other through some mutual connections.â
âNo kidding,â Mari gasped with joy when Issa was checking on her phone, noting the time it was displaying.
âWell, we should better be going to the venue soon, donât want to be late, do we?â she reminded the group, putting her eyes away from the phone for a short while.
âYouâre on that point, Issa, we need to get going, though we better get Levi, Erwin, Mike, and Hanji quickly before they get left out here,â Sayeko agreed as the group headed out to find Sayekoâs husband and their friends.
âPoyo!â Kirby squeaked.
The venue where Ron and Hermioneâs wedding, a garden with a gazebo as the centerpiece, is being held at was decorated rather simply but quaint enough to hold the amount of guests their families invited, though it wouldâve been too cramped for their own good than expected hadnât Mrs. Weasley had some self control on who to invite. Lanterns lined the aisle, bunches of yellow and white flowers were tied up to the first chair at the both sides: the mood has been set to get people ready for the day two individuals will tie the knot. Mari sat down with Kairi, Issa, Kirby, Jenny, Snooper, and Philip by her side, waiting for the event to start; right behind were the Survey Corps folks in Levi, Mike, Erwin, and Hanji who waved back at them, and even the mostly stoic Levi gave them a shy noticeable smile to boot: Sayeko had to leave earlier in a separate vehicle with the rest of the bridal party.
She can also spy with her own chocolate brown eyes some of the Golden Trioâs friends like Neville Longbottom who waved back at her and has brought along a date with him, Remus and Tonks whose their boy Teddy the ring bearer who ran around the venue out of boredom (only for Remus to pick him up to get ready with the rest of the wedding party), Hagrid and Olympe Maxime were also present when they spotted Mari and mouthed out a hello which she accepted, Xenophilius Lovegood was also present while his daughter (and the Golden Trioâs friend) Luna was with the bridal party, and Kingsley Shacklebolt was sitting in front of her and her group.
Some of Ronâs siblings were there too such as Charlie coming back from Romania and Percy with his pregnant wife Audrey, though Bill and Fleur were not in the area just yet as they were busy trying to prevent their girls Victoire and Dominique from having flower girl meltdowns, Ginny was a bridesmaid, and the twins Fred & George were the groomsmen. There is even Viktor Krum who still remains Hermioneâs pen pal and greeted her earlier when the guests were starting to enter the place, as well as a partially scarred Lavender Brown who has finally made amends with the couple previously a few years ago.
As the last few guests sat down, the music began to play out in the background and the procession began: Ronâs parents and Hermioneâs mom sat down in the first row of seats, Ron walked down next, then came the groomsmen (Fred, George, and Harry) and bridesmaids (Sayeko, Luna, and Ginny) as they walked down the altar as pairs, dressed rather casually in white dress shirts, mint ties, gray slacks, & leather dress shoes and mint dresses respectively. Teddy toddled behind with the rings on his guard with Victoire and Dominque tossing flower all over the place as their parents assisted them in any way possible. There is a brief moment of silence before it gave way to the bride Hermione, dressed in a simple ivory dress with subtle bead work on the bodice, and her father by her side walking down from the steps of the main event building to share this tearful moment.
Issa swore that she can see tears running down from the eyes of all parties, but none so much outside the parents and Harry as the bride and her father walked toward the gazebo where Ron and the minister officiating awaited with the bridal party stand by each side of the gazebo. Soon Hermione broke away from her father as she continued her journey down the aisle until she finally reached the gazebo with Ron reaching out his left hand for her to grasp onto and her father sat down with the mom.
With that part ended, the minister then began his part, speaking up, âDearly beloved, weâre all gathered here today to witness a union of two persons, Ronald and Hermione, as one. The two would like to thank you all for coming here today. Many have came near and far to be their witnesses to this special moment, as well as they are remembering those who canât be with them today, they too played a special part of their lives...â
While the minister went about his talk to the couple, Mari was more concerned with any possible moment of Ginny possibly hurting her brother in any way, her eyes aiming at her like a sharp-eyed hawk: if she had her own way, she would undeniably punch that red-haired brat in a heartâs beat should Ginny decided to stop playing nice for the coupleâs sake and Harryâs sanity. So far, sheâs behaving rather well and Mari hoped that it will stayed that way for the rest of the day: all the worries went on a halt though when the minister took a moment to pause before informing the guests the next part of the event, âI may ask the couple to have some words to say to each other as they begin the next chapter of their lives.â
Hermione went first, bringing out a long piece of paper from what seems to be out of nowhere, and despite said paperâs long length, her vows were short, sweet, and straight to the point as she read out her vows to Ron, which left the red-haired groom bursting tears of joy upon hearing the words from her mouth. When Ronâs turn came, he couldnât help fighting back the tears as he mustered up the courage to speak up, with being nervous choking him a bit. Nevertheless, he still managed to pull it through that part, and his words further warmed Hermioneâs heart more.
âNow, can we have the Matron of Honour and the Best Man bring forth the ribbons for the handfasting?â the minster called out, alerting Sayeko and Harry to bring out a small box and open the lid, revealing two satin ribbons: one being mint and the other yellow.
âWith these ribbons as the symbol of your souls being intertwined together, you have made the promise to be there for each other even at your darkest moments, to support each otherâs endeavours, and to help each other for better or for worse,â the minister spoke to the couple as Harry and Sayeko wrapped the ribbons onto their hands: Harry tying the mint ribbon on Hermioneâs and Sayeko wrapping Ronâs hand with the yellow ribbons, once they were done, he concluded this part, saying, âLet this bond between the two of you never break, nor should conflicts get the best of you. Now, onto the rings.â
Teddy walked up to his godfather Harry with his dad assisting him in carrying the wedding rings, both in gold and previously Ronâs parentsâ bands, as Sayeko assisted in taking out the ribbons from her soon-to-be brother in law and her adopted sister: Harry then picked up the rings and passed it on with the minister who then gave the couple each a ring. Hermione has Ronâs ring on her hands and slipped it into his ring finger; Ron has her wedding band on his hand and he too slipped it into her ring finger, on top of her ruby engagement ring.
âIs anyone here not wanting to acknowledge this marriage now?â the minister questioned the crowd, only to get no rebuttals, he then turned to the couple and say, âVery well: I may now pronounce you Husband and Wife. Ronald, you can finally...â
He didnât get to finish his words when he noticed Ron and Hermione already locking lips and kissing each other, knowing that the ceremony is finally concluded and they were aware that people were getting to become bored and hangry at any moment. The crowd cheered on as the couple made their way out to have some down time to sink in the feelings and the reality that they are now a married couple.
At the reception hall at the garden not far from the ceremony area, it was now lunch time and people were settling in for the party: both Ron and Hermione had settled onto their seats, choosing not to dance for they knew that Ron couldnât survive the dance floor on two left feet; everyone began to dig in the food served in family style: chatting while taking a few bites at a time. Mari and her group were seated along with the Survey Corps. right besides the dance floor, whereas Sayeko and Harry were seated at the bridal party table. They shared stories about their lives and how Harry essentially brought them all together, albeit it took so long to finally to meet each other. Levi even told Issa that her name had reminded him of an old friend he and Sayeko used to know from Wall Maria who perished a long time ago, which she was blushed at the coincidences.
The guests were finishing lunch and Jenny, Snooper, & Philip was entertaining Kirby when Erwin did brought up one question to Mari over something he and the Survey Corps remembered seeing that morning, âMari, I was wondering: why is your brother keeping a box in the pocket of his pants?â
âWell, Erwin: He dragged me, Kairi, Ron, Hermione, and Kirby into a shopping spree in New York last December; he didnât want to explain himself over this thing,â she answered to the concerned Survey Corps. commander.
âSame here: when we met up with him earlier at the hotel, he didnât want to spill the beans to us either,â Hanji agreed as she adjusted her eyeglasses a bit.
âYeah, thatâs true, Hanji. Harry has his lips sealed when we asked him over the box in his pocket situation earlier this morning,â Mike added in before taking another sip of water.
âEven if heâs a my godbrother, Harry doesnât want to tell me anything about that box since you guys arrived in London. He isnât that secretive all the time,â Levi sighed, âWhat is he hiding right now?â
âHe has been hiding something inside of the box for months,â Issa explained.
âGeez, I wish I know what is in his head...â Mari sighed.
âMe too, sis,â Kairi nodded in agreement before she mumbled about a weird scenario, âCan you imagine him stepping on the center of the dance floor and asking Issa for a dance, with the box in his pocket?â
âKairi, please donât bring up too much...â Mari was cut off from her talk when Harry took to the stage and began to speak up nervously through the microphone, âUh, excuse me. I just had something to announce today. I know this is weird to put a hold to a wedding, but this is really urgent.â
âOh God, did I predicted something?â Kairi whispered to the group.
âSo whatâs next then?â Philip asked as he, the Snoopers, and Kirby finally took notice of the move.
âI would like to ask Isabelle Miravelez to come over to the dance floor, because I have something to ask her right now,â Harry then clarified the nature of the impending announcement and asked for Issaâs presence.
âMe, me?â Issa was even more confused as she proceed to walk up to the floor while Snooper brought out his video camera to capture the moment unfolding.
âOhhh⊠Do I think this moment is coming?â Jennyâs eye began to well up in tears of anticipation, which further confused Mari further.
All eyes were glued to Harry and Issa as he then pulled out the velvet box from his pants pocket and finally spoke to his long-time Filipino girlfriend for nearly a decade in, âWell, Issa. It finally comes to this: being stared at by confused people in a wedding of all places. When my sister Mari first introduced me to you, I wasnât in a good place at the time with all the troubles I went through in troubleshooting a failing relationship and I came out of it even worse after that June day over hot water of the figurative and literal kind.â
The last words alarmed Ginny in the heart: she knew deep in her heart that she had pursued the Boy Who Lived, or rather, an idealized version of him much longer than Issa did with the real guy, only for the two to crash and burn, and sank down to her seat further in shame. Tears were escaping her eyes, threatening to damage her eye makeup, as Harry continued his speech, âI didnât think then that she will bring us together and I was too scared to fall in love again, yet here we are almost 10 years later. The time we have together isnât all sunshine and rainbows with jealous exes, people thinking that weâre off our heads in this inter-fandom relationship, having petty âfightsâ here and there, and even having doubts ourselves if we made the right decision to push through with it. And yet, we managed to grow with time and learning to accept each other, and loving each other unconditionally.â
She didnât know why, but Mari could feel tears running down her cheeks. Now the librarian wasnât too sure if she is happy or sad then, but she was too engrossed with the speech to care, and the same applied with Kairi who was now shedding tears as well and Philip, despite not having a clue of whatâs going on to his defense, who quietly shed tears. The Snoopers were bracing for that one moment to come, feeling it is about to happen any time now, while Kirby, being a little puffball, was at awe at the moment, jumping up and down in excitement. The Survey Corps, including Levi who couldnât help but to smile in advance, were also drawn to the speech that continued in as Harry went down on his right knee, taking a deep breath and giving himself a little pep talk, âAlright, Harry. This is it: youâre really going to do this...â
The plot then thickened when he finally opened the box that he had been hiding from most people for nearly 4 months, inside there was a dainty thin gold ring holding a small central midnight blue sapphire, which is flanked by 4 smaller diamonds and 2 small pearls on each side (2 diamonds to 1 pearl). Ohs and ahs filled the room as eyes took notice of the mystery ring Harry has on his hands. Issa couldnât keep her composure stable as she gasped at the sight of the ring, cupping her mouth with her hands in shock, people were bracing themselves. Relieved that she reacted to it positively, he got the chance to pop that one important question, âIsabelle Miravelez: will you marry me?â
It took her such a long time to pull herself together and compose her thoughts, but sensing the full sincere thoughts her wizard boyfriend has and how serious he was with the proposal (as the big surprise as it was), but Issa couldnât wait any more to give a quick, âAy naku, Harry! Iâm in a loss of words now. I have no idea why you hid that ring from me for this long, but you know what? Iâm really going to accept it! So itâs a yes!â
The star news writer wrapped her arms around Harry tightly as many guests gushed and enjoyed the moment. The Tans, Philip, the Snoopers, Kirby, the Survey Corps, & Ron and Hermione finally understood the surprise Harry was able to hide: after all those nearly 10 years, he has come to accept that he was really heads over heels for Issa no matter what his younger self thought of then. Yes, he can be a hot mess at times (more so in his teen years), but heâs way better than he was when he came out of a toxic relationship with Ginny. Issa knew she didnât have magic powers compared to her half-blood beau and the 2 pureblood exes he dated, but it didnât matter at all: she was the shining light that he was looking for aside from his adopted sisters and there is nothing that can break them apart.
As Harry placed the ring on Issaâs left ring finger, Mari could hear cheers from the guests present. Sayeko and Levi cheered in joy, happy to know that their friend has finally gotten his happy ending; Mike gave Erwin and Hanji a big hug while screaming his heart off in happiness, while Philip did his best to keep his composure intact as he wiped his tears away. Meanwhile, Jenny and Snooper sent out in a sigh of relief with Ron and Hermione tearing up in joy, finally getting to see their friends getting engaged, Kirby squeaked in joy as he happily danced about in his famous Kirby Dance, and Kairi gave Mari a loving hug, knowing that their brother is going to settle down soon. She even saw the looks of happiness and pride in the Lupins, the Lovegoods, Neville, Hagrid, and Mr. & Mrs. Weasleyâs faces too. The same can be said for Fred & George, Bill, Fleur, Charlie, and Percy (although the latter 2 didnât want to let that be obvious).
And yet, Mari can hear something else too: it was sobbing from the bridal party table and she turned around to see Ginny slumped onto the table and crying her eyes off, murmuring in gibberish she couldnât decipher. She guessed that the Weasley girl was regretting turning Harry off and pushed him away from her for so long that their relationship has become irreparable. Not even magic could save her from the years of despising him, she wept. For once, the librarian felt some sympathy for the girl who broke her brotherâs heart, but it was sadly too late for both women to make some form of reconciliation on the red-haired womanâs part: almost 10 years too late⊠Ginevra Molly Weasley was a hot mess of regret, anger, and yearning in the inside.

Would You Like Some Tea In Your Cauldron?
Read on Ao3
Warning: Implied/Referenced Drug Use
Levi hated losing bets. He rarely ever lost courtesy of his dear uncle, but this year, all it took was his misplaced faith in a racehorse named âJeanâ during the Qatar Prix de lâArc de Triomphe for him to end up being at the mercy of the scheming, shitty, four-eyed freak known as Hange Zoe.
There had been a raffle draw, and Leviâs dare was to decorate his house for the Halloween season and give out some sweets to the trick-or-treaters.
It was better than what Erwin had done on Valentineâs a few years back, when he had to sniff the armpit of every man in the pub just because he revealed his hand too early (It was a historical event) to Mike. Hange still had photos of the event saved in their so-called âfamily album.â
The problem was that Levi wasnât too keen on giving out the only sweets he had. Candy didnât exactly come at a cheap price, and he definitely wasnât going to spend his entire salary buying new ones to cater to some bratsâ sugar rush.
There were tea-flavored candies sent to him as gifts from his Grandfather Ackerman, who had worked as an employee in a candy factory and had later run several teahouses in the country during his younger days.
While Levi was fond of tea, he wasnât a fan of it being used as a candy flavour. Its taste was very faint and unusual to begin with; sweet but not exactly the ideal type of treat that the little ones would gobble down wholeheartedly and come back for greedily in the next spooky years to come.
The night of Halloween was relatively uneventful for the man as per usual. Even as a kid, he never experienced the thrill of egging some poor hagâs house, or screaming his throat raw in one of those badly decorated third-rate horror booths, or even carving pumpkins and snatching wet apples with his mouth just for the hell of it.
Most importantly, he never had the luxury of preparing a costumeâŠeven until now. Hange encouragingly told him that he didnât have to; he was already scary-looking enough.
âOw!â Hange held their stomped foot, jumping up and down while Levi scoffed and took the basket of candy from them to place it on the breakfast nook.
The first few trick-or-treaters that came to Leviâs house were tame considering that they were under adult supervision. On the other hand, Levi secretly found it annoying how some parents, teachers, nannies, and even older siblings would apologize to him for the children they accompanied thinking that he looked like a serial killer from a textbook slasher. Was his appearance really that unsettling?
When he opened the door, basket in hand, a little girl in a pink, fairy costume quailed in fright and went down the porch steps to hide behind her mother.
Guess there was no need for a well-thought out prank; his âpinch-me-and-Iâll-punch-youâ expression already came in handy.
It was almost 9:00 pm, and the hoots of the owls could be heard in the distance. Levi was ready to remove all the decorations much to his chagrin, but just when he was about to store the remaining candy back in the cellar, something caught his ear.
âEren, itâs almost late,â said a little girlâs voice. âMomâs going to get really worried, you know.â
âJust one more house left!â someone replied doggedly. Yep. It was definitely a brat.
âIf I recall, your father said not to trick-or-treat at 10 or more houses. You still have an appointment with him after all,â Not bratty. Also, the kid sounded smart for his age.
âOne more bag of candy wonât hurt, Armin.â The footsteps got louder.
With a sigh, Levi turned away from the cellar with the candy still in his arms to meet his last trick-or-treaters for the night outside. Upon opening the door, the first thing he saw was a boy who looked to be about 7 or 8 years old. He was dressed as a dogâŠno, a werewolf, what with the puffy ears, fangs, and paws he wore for feet. The ruffled fur of his top matched the color of his hair.
On either side of him were a raven-haired girl and a blonde boy. The girl was dressed as a huntsman, a plastic axe by her side, and the boy a warlock. Together, they seemed to be quite the fairly strong bunch.
As if a flip had been switched, the wolf boy immediately perked up at Levi and flashed a wide grin, âTrick-or-treat!â
He was the first kid not to show signs of fear in front of him. How interesting.
The other two werenât as enthusiastic. The girl stayed silent, though Levi could tell she was a little wary of him. Meanwhile, the blonde muttered the greeting with a nervous stutter, twiddling with the pouch he held while huddling up to the girl. Levi couldnât blame him; his sunken eyes spoke for themselves. Â
âYou brats better be thankful I still havenât cleared the Jack-o-Lanterns off my lawn,â Levi said tonelessly, stepping down the stairs while grabbing for a pack of candy.
âOur apologies, sir!â the blonde stammered. âIf youâd like, we can leavââ
âEren just wants some more candy, thatâs all.â the girl interrupted.
âGuys!â shouted the wolf boy. Shaking his head in embarrassment, he looked back up to Levi again, holding up his cauldron treat bucket in a silent plea. âI just need one more for my secret stash, sir.â
âYour secret stash?â
âYes,â The boy blushed before continuing, âMy fatherâs a dentist so itâs not often that I get to eat lots of candy.â
The sourness from Leviâs expression dissolved and was replaced by sympathy.
âWell, I wouldnât want your long journey to go to waste, would I? HereâŠâ
Levi poured several pieces of candy into Erenâs bucket. He felt something twitch in his chest at the sight of the boyâs wide, green eyes gleaming in happiness. If he had a tail, Levi was sure it would be wagging by now.
âThese are from Teasâ Time, arenât they?â the wolf boy, Eren, asked excitedly.
He didnât bother to wait for his answer and picked out a piece, tearing at the wrapper with his teeth with an alarming vigor. Levi raised a brow and made a confused face at the other two kids waiting patiently for their sugar-deprived friend.
âHe always eats the candy after receiving it. That way, heâll know which ones will become his favorites,â the blonde explained, as if reporting a scientific experiment.
âTch,â Levi kneeled down to Erenâs level, âSo, how does it taste?â
To his slight amazement, Eren seemed to be enjoying the candy judging from the pleased expression he wore; he hummed in answer: âItâs good!â
No, itâs not, really. Levi tried the candy for himself; it was certainly healthier than most sweets but it didnât hold a candle to the likes of Kitkats, Snickers, or Twix candy bars. Hell, even that candy corn crap tasted better than the hard, circular disks currently making Erenâs eyes glaze over.
Then again, it was better than not having any at all.
âHuh,â Levi regarded him in kind, âThe ones in your possession are Citrus green tea, by the way. You still have more flavors to try.â
Erenâs face fell, âThank you, sir, but my Dad wonât let me have any more. Theyâll ruin my teeth,â he pulled off his fangs to show Levi a crooked but clean set of them; no cavities in sight.
Well, thatâs understandable. Levi stood up to bid the boy and his friends goodbye but the former stopped him with an exasperated âWait!â before he could.
âAre you going to give out some more next Halloween?â
Levi weighed his choices. No, he didnât want to do this again. God forbid his house get wrecked; he was already lucky not to have done much cleaning the first time save for the removal of decorations.
But one look at Erenâs puppy dog eyes compelled him to think differently. Yes, there was absolutely nothing unusual about inviting a child to trick-or-treat at his place when he was opposed to the very idea hours ago. Not at all.
âShitâs expensive so one flavor for every year. Be sure to collect them all before you donât have the balls to go trick-or-treating anymore,â He offered, ignoring the surprised gasps from the other two.
Eren looked about ready to bounce off the floorboards, fangs bared, âThank you, Sir! I canât wait!â
In a flash, the boy was down the front steps joining his friends, both relieved that the night was over. They all waved at Levi, departing into the streets with the autumn breeze ruffling their clothes. Eren in particular gave one last smile at him before digging in his pack to wolf downâexcuse the punâmore of the sweets from his grabby little fingers.
For the first time that night, Leviâs lips quirked up a centimeter. Perhaps he ought to treat Hange out to see that science fiction horror film they were so crazy about.
For the next three years, Levi would leave some candy waiting in a mini black cauldron by the porch for little Eren to find. Since they were of premium quality (or so his grandfather claimed), each year promised a different flavor, and with every bite, Erenâs adoration for the maddeningly expensive stuff only grew.
Citrus green tea, green tea latte, classic iced tea, black teaâŠLevi could only go for so long until hearing his tea-obsessed relative sob happily from the other side of the phone at the news of someone genuinely enjoying his brand of candy.
His friends were just as happy at the news.
âLooks like youâve got yourself a faithful follower, Levi.â Erwin said one night over brandy.
âHeâs just happy because he finally figured out a way to clear out his pantry,â Hange cackled. This earned them another well-placed stomp on the foot.
Levi had learned quite a lot about Eren tooâlike how his ears would turn red every time Levi asked him about his intake of sweets, or how passionate he was in his ramblings about anything other than the different candies he collected from the other houses. Leviâs favorite was the one where he and his two friends from before, Mikasa and Armin, reported some guys shoving their dicks inside carved pumpkins as part of some sick, twisted dare to the police and were given ten times the candy they had that day because of it.
âLevi, why have you never gone trick-or-treating?â a 12-year old Eren asked. He was perched on top of the red loveseat in his living room, Hogwarts robe pooling over the edges and glasses falling askew from the upside-down position he was in.
âMy uncle never made me go. Juvenile delinquents used to put weed in candy bars back in the day, so he didnât want to be responsible for my getting wasted,â Levi said as if commenting about the weather.
Erenâs flipped over in shock, âYou can put drugs in candy?!â
âYes, which is why you should be extra careful when receiving treats from strangers; even the most benign things can become the most dangerous when placed in the wrong hands.â
Levi found what he was looking for in the fridgeâChai tea. Erenâs favorite.
The boy in question nodded slowly in understanding, âNo wonder Dad only let me trick-or-treat at my relativesâ place.â
âHm.â
Erenâs eyes were fixated on Levi for quite a while. He propped his elbows on the sofa, chin resting above them as he sent the man a soft smile, his glasses sliding a little onto his nose to reveal bright green, mirthful and genuine.
âI trust you, though.â
Levi returned one of his own; he threw the candy at Eren, âUp until now, Iâm still baffled by the fact that you didnât piss yourself seeing my face for the first time.â
Eren laughed while unwrapping the foil. Popping the candy into his mouth, he gave a pleased hum, chewing slowly to savor the taste.
âOh, I was pretty scared alright,â he spoke while he ate, âI thought you were going to whip out a scythe or whatever; complements the murderous look on your face and everything.â
âThis coming from the kid who said he trusts me.â
Eren simply flicked his wand as if to ward him off, sticking his tongue out.
Eren didnât come to Leviâs house the following year.
At first, Levi supposed it was because Eren had indeed grown up and was definitely too old to ever trick-or-treat again. Surely, his friends and family found it pretty strange for someone as adventurous and fun as him to spend the last few minutes of Halloween with an almost broke college student, and a grumpy one nonetheless.
But Levi knew Eren wasnât the type to ditch friendships like that, although to be quite honest, Levi wasnât exactly sure when he started considering Eren as his friend. Maybe the boy was just that likeable despite his tendency to be a little shit.
Eren had messaged him online 7 hours after Halloween Night ended. Suffice to say, Levi didnât know whether to congratulate or pity the boy with the news heâd been given:
Brat: I got braces :/
Levi pondered a bit before typing out his message and pressing the send button.
Levi: Mashed potatoes and gravy, then?
The notification came faster than he could blink:
Brat: :D
Halloween couldnât possibly be more hectic this time around. Leviâs dorm mates had invited him to participate in the new âZombie Runâ sponsored by his very own university; his fingers were still sore from when he punched the Walking Dead who had tried to cop a feel chasing him.
He was just about to nurse his knuckles with some ice packs when he heard the clicking of boots on his porch steps.
Levi was at the door in an instant; ice packs forgotten on the floor; he pulled it open to see tousled brown hair and vibrant green eyes.
It was Eren, now a teen, who had come to trick-or-treat at his doorstep for the first time in three years. And ohâ
The boyâs getup was certainlyâŠ.riveting. He wore a red button-up underneath a black military jacket with side seams that went below the waist, matching gloves and high-knee combat boots, and white pants accentuating his shapely legsâŠ
Levi mentally smacked himself before taking in all of Erenâs costume. Speaking of legs, they were fitted with belt strapsâŠnoâŠEren was actually wearing a harness, its unique pattern contrasting nicely with the red shirt and white pants. There was even a small leather skirt that Levi didnât notice until later.
And shit, Levi now had to look up at his face because of how tall heâd gotten. It was kind of annoying.
Gone was the scruffy, werewolf boy from 7 years ago. Before him stood a sharply dressed cadet, an air of confidence and integrity about him. Tonight, Eren was a soldierâŠready to fight on the frontlines; it was the best costume Levi had ever seen him in.
âTrick-or-treat,â Eren greeted. His voice was lower now, and his braces were gone too; there was only a set of perfectly straight and white teeth.
Eren whirled around, the long end of the jacket flowing behind him. Levi caught a glimpse of the insignia on his back, a white wing overlapping a blue one, âDo you like it?â he asked in a way more akin to a princess flaunting her ball gown.
Levi did a mock bow, âWhy yes, Your Highness.â
The boy smirked before quickly pulling out dual blades from his sides (Where the fuck did they come from?). They looked pretty fucking sharp.
The older male raised his arms, whistling lowly, âAt ease, soldier.â
Eren put the swords back in their hilts, âTheyâre ultrahard steel. Good for cutting flesh.â
The look Levi gave him was nothing short of incredulous.
Eren laughed, âJust kidding, these arenât really made of metal, but they do make a good slashing sound!â He emphasized this with a wave, as if to cut Levi in half.
He didnât want to know the rest of the details, âArenât you a little too old for trick-or-treating?â
âLevi, itâs 2017. If youâve noticed, there are a lot of teenagers going from house to house for treats and no tricks, hopefully. All my friends are wearing the same costume Iâm in.â
Levi wondered how many there were. He held back a snort at the idea of a bunch of High-School students in weird military attire (He still didnât know the significance of the harness), marching along the streets and chanting roll-calls begging for Reeseâs Peanut Butter Cups and Laffy Taffys.
Not wanting to waste the evening out in the windy cold, Levi turned to fetch what Eren had arrived for in the first place, âCitrus green orâŠâ
Erenâs gloved hand on his shoulder stopped him in place.
âThis is the last time Iâm ever going trick-or-treating,â he paused, tightening his grip, âand I want you to come along this time.â
Levi looked over his shoulder, admittedly shocked despite his cool gaze.
âI donât have a scythe and robe with me,â he still found within himself to joke.
There it was again, that life-expanding laugh. There was a glint in Erenâs eyes that Levi couldnât place, and he felt a prickling sensation spread through his body from where Eren touched him.
âDonât get ahead of yourself. Heâs still a kid after all, but you know youâre willing to buy him all the treats he could ever want in the world,â said the nagging voice in his head.
âIâm also too old,â he added.
âPshh, you donât look that old to me,â Eren gestured to Leviâs height. Levi scowled and punched him in the arm, making him release a pained chuckle.
âOh, and another thingâŠâ Eren reached inside his jacket and pulled out a parcel; unwrapping it.
Inside was a jumbo pack of Matcha-Green Tea Kitkats.
âI bought them myself,â Eren said proudly, holding it up for Levi to see, âearned cash and all. I can guarantee that you wonât find any suspicious substances in them.â
Levi snickered. On the other hand, he couldnât recall ever feeling such a strong surge of admiration.
âThanks, kid.â He offered Eren one of his rare smiles.
Eren wasnât finished with his surprises just yet. âSay, if I offer you thisâŠ.â he flaunted the Kitkats in Leviâs face with one hand while the other went into his jacket again (God, how many stuff was he hiding in there?), bringing out a larger parcel. It was slightly open, but Leviâs eyes widened upon seeing the belt straps inside.
Levi reached out with careful fingers to pull the folds apart, revealing the costumeâthe same one Eren was wearing.
ââŠwill you be our Captain for Halloween, Levi?â
Levi didnât even realize he had nodded until he felt a pair of strong arms around him. This close, he could make out the faint smell of citrus; just like years ago. His cheeks were beginning to warm up so he gave a few awkward pats to Erenâs back and eventually pulled away from him.
âThereâs only one problem to deal with, I guess.â
Erenâs body went stiff, âWhat is it?â
Levi grabbed the harness and the rest of the belt straps, holding them up in distaste.
âHow the fuck do you put these on?â

Doctor Who Holiday Gift Guide: A Holiday in Who-ville
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
The Doctor is in, and itâs about time. Although, it should be noted that the Doctor is also in a maximum-security prison, and time is running short for Earth with the return of the Daleks. Thankfully the Thirteenth Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker, has her Companions, as well as the newly returned Captain Jack Harkness, on hero duty on our little planet.
That is all happening on New Yearâs Day in the Doctor Who holiday special, âRevolution of the Daleks.â Debuting on BBC-America at 8 p.m. ET, the January 1 episode picks up from the action following the twelfth season of the revived 56-year-old series, which aired this year from January to March.
Just to recap, that canon-shaking season brought The Master back, regenerated once more as a male human; traveled to Gallifrey, reduced to ruins (again); introduced Time Lord Cybermen, aka CyberMasters. The season ended with the whopper that the Doctor is the Timeless Child from another realm â with a lot more regenerations than previously confirmed â and that she is a being from whence all Time Lords emerged, thanks to DNA splicing. And all that happened before the cliffhanger of the Doctor being imprisoned for life by those intergalactic rent-a-cops the Judoon.
So yeah, a lot happened, and that doesnât even cover the epic decade in the making surprise return of John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, who is back again for the holiday special.
With so much happening in the world of Doctor Who, it seems like a great time for a themed holiday gift guide, a season in Who-ville, if you will. The items that follow are perfect goodies to wrap up, and stuff in a TARDIS-sized gift bag (bigger on the inside, of course) for all the Whovians in your life. And if you shop for something for yourself, thatâs ok; just say you got it for one of your other regenerations.
David Tennant Does A Podcast With ⊠Jodie Whittaker (Free)
You donât need to spend money to let the Whovian in your life know youâre thinking of them this holiday season. And trust me, if they donât already know about David Tennantâs podcast, theyâll be thanking you. Tennant, aka the Tenth Doctor, is a delightful human being, and a genuinely engaging conversationalist. And in his podcast â which just wrapped a second season â he converses with famous friends, costars, and newsmakers, such as Neil Gaiman, Ian McKellen, Billie Piper, and Stacey Abrams. His episode with Jodie Whittaker in February 2019, following her first full season as the Doctor, is a special treat. The two discuss getting to know one another on Broadchurch, but also discuss the unique role on Doctor Who â and what it was like for her to be the first woman to step into the part.
Listen to the podcast episode here.
Thirteenth Doctor Mug ($8.95)
Blue shirt, rainbow stripes, and suspenders. If the Whovian in your life is like me, occasionally you want your fandom served up simple along with a cup of coffee. This orb-like mug captures the essence of the Thirteenth Doctorâs outfit with a few basic elements immediately recognizable to other fans. And it looks like it holds a lot of coffee, which is a perk.
Buy the Thirteenth Doctor Mug on Amazon.
Big Finish Audio Plays ($9+)
âI donât want to go.â These last words of the Tenth Doctor are relatable for most Who fans when they see a character depart from the show, but thankfully there is Big Finish Productions. For more than 20 years, the company has produced Doctor Who audio plays starring cast from the show, including six of the nine living actors to have played the Doctor (with Christopher Eccleston set to reprise his role as the Ninth Doctor in stories to be released in 2021). In addition getting more adventures from favorite characters, Big Finish also has characters collide who never met on screen â such as Missy and River Song, played again by Michelle Gomez and Alex Kingston, in The Diary of River Song. And while Captain Jack Harkness may only be returning to Doctor Who for the holiday special, John Barrowman voices the character in more than two dozen Big Finish dramas.
Listen to the audio plays here.
Doctor Who Face Mask ($12)
Bowties, fezzes, Stetsons; the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) was especially known for his pursuit of the cool fashion â and a lot of hats â and 13 seems to be keeping the pattern going (see the tuxedo and ear cuff listings below). But if itâs one thing thatâs cool in 2020, itâs face coverings, and it would not at all be a surprise for the Doctor to exclaim, âI wear a mask now. Masks are cool.â So this item from Liesl Schulz of Sewn by Liesl on Etsy is a timely entry for the Whovian on your gift list. They can also feel like a Time Lord out to protect humanity and can do so with the most minimal of effort by sporting a TARDIS-blue mask emblazoned with 12âs quote.
Buy the Doctor Who Face Mask here.
Thirteenth Doctor Action Figure with Red Top ($13)
I remember the moment we were all treated to the first look of Jodie Whittaker as the doctor in her cool coat, and that blue shirt with rainbow stripes. But by the third episode of Season 11, âRosa,â the Doctor had switched things up with a red shirt. Even though this wardrobe change is a bold choice â considering red shirts are just bad luck in other sci-fi universes â Iâm more partial to Jodieâs crimson shade. As such, this 5.5-inch Doctor action figure with bum bag and sonic screwdriver is a cool collectible for Whovian fans who like a different color on 13. (Although you can get the figure in blue as well, and a TARDIS playset she can fit in.)
Buy the Thirteenth Doctor action figure on Amazon.
Doctor Who Psychology: A Madman with a Box ($15)
What makes an ancient time-and-space traveler tick? How does an immortal deal with death? And why did he once say she âgot on very wellâ with Freud? This book edited by Travis Langley, Ph.D., the fifth in the psychology professorâs âPopular Culture Psychologyâ series, explores the minds of the Doctor, her Companions, and villains. And while you may not think the Whovian in your life has a lot in common with a Time Lord, Madman delves into what Doctor Who says about human nature, and humanity. Full disclosure: I am a contributor to the book, which contains my interviews with Matt Smith, and David Tennant.
Buy Doctor Who Psychology on Amazon.
Thirteenth Doctor TARDIS Distressed Rainbow T-Shirt ($16+)
Combine the Thirteenth Doctorâs TARDIS, her signature rainbow (which doubles as a symbol for pride and acceptance), with a distressed design, and you have this happy, colorful shirt from Hot Topic. It feels like a retro design out of the 1970s (back when some older Whovians were watching the show on PBS) but celebrates the new Who. Just looking at it puts me in a better mood.
Buy the TARDIS Distressed Rainbow T-Shirt here.
Doctor Who 13th Doctor 3 Piece Gift Set â Journal, Mug & Superbitz Plush ($16.99)
This officially licensed trio of goodies packs a lot of holiday cheer for less than $20. The Thirteenth Doctor Superbitz plushy collectible is incredibly cute, while the 16-page lined journal features a rainbow striped hard cover with the phrase âThe Future Is Not Written.â Meanwhile the â13 Is My Lucky Numberâ sporting a golden TARDIS graphic rounds out this happy little set.
Buy the 13th Doctor 3-Piece Gift Set on Amazon.
Doctor Who Friends and Foes of the 13th Doctor Set B ($25)
Nearly as soon as the Doctor regenerated into 13, she began gathering a family of four with Bradley Walshâs Graham, Tosin Coleâs Ryan, and Mandip Gillâs Yaz. Yet, in a November interview with the BBC, Jodie Whittaker revealed âthe fam as a four is no more,â and that Walsh and Cole would be leaving Doctor Who after the holiday special. But just because Graham and Ryanâs adventure on the show is coming to an end doesnât mean their characters have to leave the world of your Doctor Who fan. Instead, if you picked up the Doctor 5.5-inch action figure above, you might as well couple it with this âFriends and Foesâ set with all three of 13âs original companions.
Buy the Friends and Foes of the 13th Doctor Set B on Amazon.
Ian Leino Doctor Whoville T-shirt ($25)
Artist Ian Leinoâs Doctor Whoville tee has been an evolving work for several years now. His Seussian design of all the regenerations of our favorite Time Lord gathered around a holiday TARDIS initially ended with Matt Smithâs Eleventh Doctor. But over time, he has included John Hurtâs War Doctor, Peter Capaldiâs Twelfth Doctor, and now Jodie Whittaker joins the Whos for a snowy celebration. Full disclosure: Ian has become a friend because I love this nerdy mash-up design so much, printed on a high-quality Bella + Canvas shirt. The design is likewise available on a hoodie, and holiday greeting cards.
Buy the Doctor Whoville T-Shirt here.
Hero Within TARDIS Woven Shirt ($45)
Across the globe, the TARDIS is more recognizable as the Doctorâs ultimate companion more than the police call box itâs disguised as. It is iconic and serves as a great inspiration for creative fans. Enter Hero Within, the apparel company that has been killing it with officially licensed, and well-made, nerdy fashion. Currently celebrating its new Doctor Who license, Hero Within has recently unveiled this woven TARDIS button-up shirt that calls to mind a work shirt while unmistakably inspired by the best ship in the universe.
Buy the Hero Within TARDIS Shirt here.
John Barrowman Cameo ($125)
There are few entertainment spectacles quite like a John Barrowman panel at a comic con. The man is a showman, and truly one of the funniest people to encounter at an event. Unfortunately comic cons are on hold at the moment, and the Doctor Who fan in your life might be craving the con experience â and jonesing for John. Thankfully, Barrowman is on Cameo, where he delivers pep talks, sends well wishes, and even sings a tune. And a custom message from Captain Jack Harkness himself is a great way to prepare for the New Yearâs Day Special.
Subscribe to John Barrowman on Cameo.
Doctor Who Galaxy Single Ear Cuff ($150)
Jodie Whittaker is not only the first woman to play the Doctor, she is also the first to wear an earring. And what a great earring she debuted with! Designed by Alex Monroe, and available for purchase, the Galaxy Single Ear Cuff is a sterling silver piece that begins on top with a cluster of shooting stars, connected to a 22ct gold plated hand grasping another in harmony. The elegant design conveys much about the Doctorâs philosophy, but this jewelry is striking even absent any knowledge of the show. Monroe likewise created a Doctor Who Companion single stud earring of clasping hands, and a Galaxy necklace to complement the other pieces.
Buy the Doctor Who Galaxy Single Ear Cuff here.
The Thirteenth Doctorâs Tuxedo ($247+)
When Doctor Who returned for its twelfth season earlier this year, the Doctor sported a tuxedo that evoked the wardrobe of her previous generations, and basically had fandom freaking out with excitement. The outfit was likewise a nod to James Bond for the âSpyfallâ espionage episodes. Well, Tamsin Hartnell of the âThe Ultimate Guide to the Fashion of Doctor Whoâ has done an impressive job assembling the items for the Doctorâs tux for those who might want to recreate it. The Doctorâs double-breasted opera coat by Paul Smith runs for about $1450 alone (if you can find it). However, Tamsin helpfully suggests alternatives to creating an everyday cosplay of the outfit starting around $160, with the official black and gold bowtie by Blue Eyes Bowtie costing about $87. This will take some work to put the look together, but itâs time well spent. Also, take a look around the Ultimate Guide blog as it is chockful of interesting Doctor Who fashion info.
Assemble the Thirteenth Doctorâs look with this guide.
GeekOrthodoxArt TARDIS Stained Glass ($750)
For a thousand years the art medium of stained glass has been used to honor iconic figures and commemorate grand moments of historic and religious significance. And in the 21st Century, pop culture institutions can hold near religious importance, and are worthy of representation in this art form. So why not take your gifteeâs Doctor Who fandom to the next level? This custom-made TARDIS stained glass artwork uses the mediumâs traditional copper foil method and is composed from over 75 pieces of hand-cut glass. Crafted by GeekOrthodoxArt, the piece measures 12âł x 24âł. The stained-glass design is likewise available as a $20 high-resolution professional grade vinyl window cling. (Also, if you want to make this gift even cooler for your Who fan, you can let them know that John Barrowman loved it so much, he bought one at the Pensacon event in 2018.)

Much to this writerâs dismay, there is no pre-owned time machine lot to buy a working TARDIS for the Whovian on your gift list. But you can get pretty close. Iconic Studio Creations can build a custom, officially licensed, full-size TARDIS replica (well, technically, itâs a replica of the TARDIS in the guise of a police call box, thanks to the craftâs chameleon circuit). While not bigger on the inside, this is as close to the real deal as you can get, and ISC has worked with the BBC in building these babies. Sure, itâs a little expensive, but you canât put a price tag on love â or time traveling ships. Iconic also creates replicas of Daleks, and a remote-controlled K-9, who would fit nicely in a new TARDIS. And if you prefer your time machine to have more practical applications, you can always get a DeLorean for your giftee.

DWTS S25 Premiere Week 1 Recap / Review
DWTS S25 Week 1...Here we go..Here we go again
Recaps [Here]
Three Musketeers: Carrie Ann, Len & Bruno are back. You know as much as I love Julianne as a judge & I really do, as well as some guest judges, itâs nothing like the seeing the 3 original still kicking after 25 seasons.Â
Only one judge speaking per couple, ehhh right. lol
Next Week: 2 Eliminations & 2 Dances. Monday: Ballroom Night & Tuesday: Latin Night
1.Terrell Owens & Cheryl Burke - Cha Cha (5+5+5=15)
Cheryl was the secret 13th pro, no real surprise, sheâs been away for a bit, but they almost always come back (looking at you too Mark Ballas). Iâm just gonna put it out there, Iâm not the biggest Terrell Owens fan but I wonât let it cloud my judgement of his dancing. I actually think he could do well, DWTS loooves a tall, dark, football player with twinkly toes.. Cheryl is a good pick for him. This was a nice, standard cha-cha for a premiere nothing too exciting, heâs got rhythm & musicality. His footwork was a lot cleaner than expected, obviously could be sharper among other things. Heâs kind of flat-footed, but he has the work-hard mentality that could see him trend up mid-season.
2. Debbie Gibson & Alan Bersten - Foxtrot (6+5+6=17)Â Iâm familiar with Debbieâs long career but knowing she struggles with Lyme disease & his pushing herself to the max for this show gives me a whole a new respect for her. Alan has been busting his butt in the troupe & as a stand-in for some seasons so itâs nice to see him get a chance to show his stuff as a pro. Beautiful foxtrot to debut with, her & Alan are cute together. Debbie is very striking on the floor, there are times when she was right on it & then a little stiff and weal posture at times. I can sense a breakthrough coming. 3.Sasha Pieterse & Gleb Savchenko - Cha Cha (6+6+6=18) I have never watched Pretty Little Liars so sheâs a virtual stranger to me but I predict sheâll be around for some weeks with the PLL fan-base. She seems to have fun personality. Gleb is not my favorite, he has yet to truly impress me. I think Sasha was holding back her Fierce (prepare for season long Sasha Fierce puns, itâs happening...).She seems to be comfortable out there but hopefully sheâll really let loose sooner than later. Thereâs a lot more there. Best footwork so far, I just wished they used more of the floor...
4. Drew Scott & Emma Slater - Foxtrot (6+5+5=16) Iâm one of the 10 people that donât watch HGTV, but I do know who the Property Brothers but I donât have an opinion on them, except Drew is the more attractive one, donât @ me. Â What I do know is Drew got lucky getting paired with reigning champ & DWTS sweetheart Emma. Their popularity should take them far. Easily my favorite choreography of the night so far, it was charming,, on the nose, but pretty jam packed, she made him work more than any other celeb so far. Len is right, that heâs pretty clunky with his feet & hands, hopefully that can be sorted over time. I canât be too hard on him he had more to do than a lot of celebs.Â
5. Barbra Corcoran & Keo Motespe - Cha Cha (5+4+5=14) Iâm probably the biggest Shark Tank fan that exist, donât ask why I just am. So Iâm super jacked to see Barabra sheâs one of the best and most entertaining sharks. I hope she doesnât get cut too soon. What can I say about this dance, except I loved every minute of it. I love seeing people live their best life, especially people of a certain age. You got money, power, respect & fame, why not live as much as you can , whatât there to lose? Barbara totally embodies that. This dance definitely had Patti Labelle âIn Da Clubâ vibes. Of course she can greatly improve& I hope she does, but most importantly I hope she continues to have as much fun as possible.Â
6. Jordan Fisher & Lindsay Arnold -Â Tango (8+7+7=22) Iâm not a jet setting millionaire so I never saw Hamilton, so Iâm not familiar but heâs with Lindsay & thatâs enough for me pay attention to him. They seem poised to go really far. Heâs charming, cute & has a lot of promise. This tango was fast as weâve come to like on this show, and pretty sharp. Best footwork, choreography & partnering so far.
7. Nick Lachey & Peta Murgatoryd - Cha Cha (6+6+6=18) Obviously, Nickâs brother Drew won Season 2 with Cheryl but who cares anymore, that was back when the show was less flashy & looked like it was shot on VHS. Iâm not really in the mood to hear about this ârivalryâ all season. Because, we unfortunately have to focus on Nick vs his wife Vanessa with Maks this season. I was over the competing couples when Alexa Vega & Carlos Pena were on & Iâm over it now. It is cute theyâre respectively paired with married couple Peta & Maks. Nick is not the most rhythmic celeb, with ironic because Peta is one of the more rhythmic proâs. Heâs stiff but what he lacks in technique, he makes up for in enthusiasm. Iâm sensing Vanessa might be the better dancer of the two, at least Iâm hoping.
8. Vanessa Lachey & Maksim Chmerkovskiy - Cha Cha (7+7+7=21) I gotta say marriage & fatherhood looks great on Maks. Iâm glad my prediction was right, Vanessa is better than Nick. Sheâs actually really good, one of the best of the night. Maksâ sharp footwork suited her well. Her placement is clean, swift & sharp. One of the most synced partnerships tonight, I want to see her go far.
9. Frankie Muniz & Witney Carson - Foxtrot (7+6+6=19) I havenât heard much about Frankie since early 2000âČs except his car crash some years back but he looks healthy, happy & wealthy (those Malcom in the Middle checks had to be nice). They really benefited from a great, emotional song (Sign of The Times). For someone who once broke his back you couldnât tell, his extension was really good. To be so shy, Frankie dances very broad, heâs got a great early connection with Witney. Definitely a highlight of the night.Â
10. Nikki Bella & Artem Chigventsev - Tango (7+7+6=20) Nikki is about the only name I recognize from the WWE Divaâs. Itâll be interesting to see if she can reign in her dominance to let Artem lead her. Len is absolutely right, her looking down almost ruined the dance, I thought she was uncomfortable at first then I realized she was just watching her feet. When she was in hold it was great, her legs are super long which make for great lines. Sheâs got great confidence & attack, can Artem contain it?Â
11. Derek Fisher & Sharna Burgess - Salsa (6+6+6=18) Derek is Laker legend, Iâm excited heâs paired with Sharna who plays no games. NBA players need redemption on this show, Derek might be the guy to do it. His hips & footwork will need work, I think he needs to loosen up more, but heâs super enthusiastic about the whole experience. That ending was super close, Sharna almost ate it..
12. Victoria Arlen & Val Chmerkovksiy - Cha Cha (7+6+6=19)Â Victoriaâs story is remarkable being paralyzed for 10 years, competing in the Paralympics, winning Gold & Silver & learning to walk a year ago & now DWTS & she canât even feel her legs. Like what are you doing with your life right now? Victoria has a winnerâs spirit, sheâs incredibly resilient and partner with Val that can take her a super long way. Plus she can actualy dance, thereâs no sympathy card in this pairing, Val gave her some challenging choreograph, not just for her situation. The routine was fun, uplifting & matched her spirit and personality. The fact that she canât feel her legs just blows my mind when watching her dance and sync with Val. The placement was great & clean. These two are ones to watch, sheâs got a great story, sheâs got Val & sheâs got moves.Â
13. Lindsey Sterling & Mark Ballas - (7+8+8=22) Lindsey is an incredible violinist who is no stranger to the DWTS stage, having guest performed & sheâs also close friends with the Hough / Ballas family already, so this seemed like a natural pairing all around. Obviously great to have Mark and his hair back on the show, heâs a personal favorite with Val. This was by far the single best performance of the night. Quick, sharp & technically sound. Mark took a risk with that hip-hop breakdown but Lindsey murdered it. It was complete flip on what you expected from her as Len noted, something Mark is good for. Sheâs such a natural and exuberant performer & Mark is such a seasoned pro, itâs a match made in heaven. Honestly, I believe Mark has been robbed many times (Chelsea Kane, Katherine Jenkins, Paige Vanzant) it would be nice to see him win his so long overdue 3rd mirrorball trophy & Lindsey might just be the partner to get it done. Tied for the top with Jordan & Lindsay
Honestly itâs so many celebs that I enjoyed Week 1, I canât honestly imagine what 2 I would want go home next week.
Next Week: 2 Eliminations & 2 Dances. Monday: Ballroom Night & Tuesday: Latin Night

Do You Know These About IVF Treatment?
We know many questions about IVF treatment, which is hope for those who want to have a baby. Professor Dr. Read NilgĂŒn Turhan 's answers to the questions that the mothers are most curious about in vitro fertilization, and there is nothing left in your head.
1. Is the woman's age important for a chance of success in IVF?
The age of the woman over 38 is a parameter that negatively affects successful results. In women over the age of 40, pregnancy rates drop much more clearly. With advancing age: Ovarian reserve decreases (high FSH).The number of developing follicles and the number of eggs obtained is reduced.Eggs are not of appropriate quality. The risk of genetic or chromosomal problems increases in eggs.
2. Are there any risks for IVF?
Normally, a slight stimulation of the ovaries in a controlled manner in IVF is a desired condition. However, sometimes a result known as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) may occur as a result of moderate or severe stimulation of the ovaries and fluid collection in the abdomen and enlargement of the ovaries. Although the probability of severe hyperstimulation is less than 1%, the frequency of this picture decreases with close monitoring of patients during ovulation treatment. Bleeding and subsequent infection occur rarely when collecting eggs. We often stop such bleeding by using tampons without requiring any intervention. There is no proven risk of IVF treatment to affect the health of the expectant mother and the baby. According to the results of the researches, we can easily say that the ratio of congenital defects is not different from babies born by natural methods in babies born with the IVF method. In addition, the risk of multiple pregnancies can increase with IVF treatment, as well as risks such as preterm birth, increased blood pressure and diabetes.
3. What medicines are used in IVF?
Needles that stimulate the development of daily eggs are initiated on the 2nd or 3rd day of menstruation to stimulate the ovaries in IVF treatment. Another daily needle treatment is added at a certain stage of the treatment in order to prevent premature cracking of the eggs. Then, when it is decided that the eggs have matured by ultrasound monitoring, an egg cracking needle is applied. After the eggs are collected, the drug treatment including progesterone hormone is started to prepare the inner wall of the uterus for embryo transfer.
4. Do the drugs used have cancer-causing effects?
According to research, there is no relationship between the drugs used in IVF treatment and ovarian cancer. In addition, if the drugs have a side effect, they will be eliminated in case of pregnancy. Hormones can have serious side effects; but these are temporary. There is no permanent side effect. Carcinogenic effect is not shown in large series in the world. Hormones used in treatment are controlled by strict rules and are widely consumed all over the world.
5. Is there an increase in the anomaly rate in children born through IVF?
There is no significant change. However, there may be a minimal increase in sex chromosome disorders especially in people with severe male factor and microinjection. In some studies, there is a slight increase in anomalies such as heart anomalies, neural tube defects and hypospadias, but we do not see a significant change compared to normal babies in general. In the large series in the world and in our experience to date, there is no increased risk of anomaly compared to normal pregnancies. No difference was observed in the development of these babies such as behavior and intelligence throughout their lives.
6. Does stimulating the ovaries with hormone therapy ruin the ovaries and cause early menopause?
At the beginning of adolescence, a normal woman has about 400,000 small eggs, and these eggs are rapidly depleted over the years. In the normal menstrual cycle, most eggs disappear before they develop, only one of them takes ovulation. In the treatment of IVF, 10 or more follicles are developed with egg developing needles. But these are follicles that will naturally disappear already. Therefore, in vitro fertilization does not harm the ovaries.
7. How many days does IVF hold? How many days does the treatment take?
IVF treatment starts with the first interview and examination and goes through certain stages. Some factors that cause infertility are examined and treated.IVF treatment covers an average of 20 days and consists of several stages. Often, on the 2nd or 3rd day of the menstrual period, the ovaries are stimulated and treatment is continued with daily needle use.The second stage is the collection of the ovaries. This process takes 10-12 days, depending on the arousal status of the ovaries. The collected eggs are fertilized with sperm taken from the spouse on the same day. At this stage, microinjection method is applied. The treatment is completed by transferring the embryos that develop within 2 to 5 days into the inner cavity of the uterus.
8. What should / should not be eaten in IVF treatment? Does it matter?
Healthy eating is of course very important in all areas of life and at all ages. Therefore, a balanced diet before starting infertility treatment increases the rate of success in vaccination and tube baby. There is no need for both men and women to make changes in the nutrition program while IVF treatment is in progress. Of course, as long as they are healthy and balanced.
9. Is there a link between the number of embryos transferred and the chance of pregnancy?
As the number of embryos transferred increases, the risk of multiple pregnancy increases with the chance of pregnancy. For this reason, the number of embryos to be transferred is limited by the regulations issued by the Ministry of Health. Single embryo transfer is allowed in the first 3 trials and women under 35 years of age. Then, a maximum of 2 embryos can be transferred.
10. How many times can the IVF method be tried?
As long as the person can produce eggs, he / she can continue to apply IVF. However, the success rate generally decreases after the third application. If you have enough and quality eggs and sperm, IVF treatment can be applied as much as desired.
11. Is there any connection between weight in vitro and pregnancy chances?
Excess weight and obesity significantly reduce couples' chances of getting pregnant. Women with ideal weight can have a baby without any treatment, this is a known fact. Excess weight and obesity significantly reduce the chances of pregnancy. Again, excess weight and nutritional disorders can decrease sperm quality in men and cause infertility. Especially trans fats and foods containing heavy metal slows sperm motility, attention.
12. In which season should IVF be made? Does it matter?
It does not matter. The quality of the eggs, the number of embryos, the attachment of the embryos, and the season of IVF treatment for pregnancy success do not matter.
13. Causes bleeding in IVF?
Bleeding during IVF treatment is not an expected condition. However, it is normal for some women to experience mild bleeding that lasts a few days immediately after collecting eggs. Here we need to talk about luteal phase bleeding. Vaginal bleeding after embryo transfer and before pregnancy test. Often people are concerned that the treatment has failed. However, even if the treatment success is somewhat decreased when these bleeding occurs, there is still a chance of pregnancy. Therefore, luteal phase supplements should not be released.
14. Is there a restriction on sexual intercourse in IVF treatment?
During needle therapy to reproduce eggs, intercourse can be established.Sexual abstinence is required for at least 3 days as the eggs are collected and sperm will be taken from the man. Therefore, sexual intercourse should not be made 2 days before the eggs are collected. After collecting the eggs, sexual intercourse can be made, but condoms should be used to reduce the possibility of multiple pregnancy. However, there may be a risk of tenderness or infection in the uterus and ovaries due to egg collection. You need to learn this by consulting a doctor. There are different opinions about sexual intercourse after embryo transfer. Generally, there is an idea that sexual intercourse and orgasm can prevent the embryo from holding on. But there is no evidence based on scientific research in this regard. We do not recommend sexual intercourse in couples with ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) with fluid accumulation in the abdomen and ovarian growth as a result of moderate or severe stimulation of the ovaries. Because bleeding and pain may occur in the ovaries during sexual intercourse.
15. Why does IVF fail?
No need to worry when the first application failed. If good embryos are given in two or more applications, but if there is no pregnancy, we consider IVF failure. In such a case, we take the couple back into treatment and examine them in detail, and investigate what causes prevent conception. Women; Intrauterine adhesions,Abnormalities in the uterus, such as fibroids or polyp, that can prevent the adhesion of the embryo, endometriosis (chocolate cyst),A fibroid or hydrosalpenx located in the uterus (enlarged view of the tubes filled with fluid after past inflammation),Hormonal disorders-thyroid gland diseases,Milk hormone (prolactin) secreted from the pituitary in the brain,Polycystic ovarian disease and the increase of insulin hormone it may cause can prevent embryo attachment. Even polycystic ovary can cause miscarriages. In such cases, there are congenital or subsequent problems related to the immune and coagulation system. It is very important to perform detailed sperm analysis in men. If there is a significant decrease in sperm count, lack of movement or deformity of sperm; Chromosome analysis,Y chromosome microdeletion test,Genetic tests such as sperm FISH test should be done. If problems occur in these tests, it is necessary to use Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGT) techniques (genetic examination and diagnosis before transfer to embryos) in a new IVF treatment.
Why does IVF fail?
16. How old is IVF treatment?
There is no clear limit. But after the age of 40, the success rate drops to 15%. After the age of 45, we can say that the success rate is very low. The first factor that determines the success rate in IVF is age.Women in the age group of 40 and over are unlikely to improve the quality of their eggs. However, interventions such as increasing the dose of drugs used to stimulate ovulation and choosing the best among many eggs may increase the chance of pregnancy. All this may be considered a closely or the use of donated eggs from another woman does not work, but this practice is not legal in Turkey.Fertility level can be controlled. For this, on the 3rd day of menstruation, the amount of hormones FSH, E2, AMH can be checked. These results show the capacity of the ovaries. As the amount of FSH hormone increases, the probability of having an egg in the ovaries that can provide pregnancy decreases. FSH levels rise as the woman ages. However, we know that the number of eggs is low in women who are young and have high FSH levels.
17. How do you interpret the developments in IVF treatment in recent years? Is there an increase in IVF demand?
"He cannot have children in previous years." called couples can achieve their dreams thanks to infertility treatments in recent years. When we look at the history of IVF treatment, we see that it was first applied in England in 1978. Nowadays, assisted reproductive technique is widely used in many countries. 1 in every 6 women of reproductive age gets professional help due to infertility.3% of women of childbearing age use ovulation drugs.Assisted reproductive technologies are applied to 1%. We can list the reasons for the increases in the infertility rate as follows: Change in social roles and wishes,Being married late,Postponing the woman's birth age,Widespread use of contraception methods,Legal evacuation facilities,Economic concerns,Increased risk of exposure to sexually transmitted diseases,Gradually decreasing sperm count. Access to treatment methods and the widespread use of these practices in the society are also increasing. The reasons for this are;Infertility is no longer socially accepted and ceased to be taboo,Increasing the level of education,Internet, newspaper etc. media dissemination,We can think of infertility treatment centers as development and spread. The Best Day of My Life: September 23rd, 2017.
For those that care, read below:
On September 23rd, 2017, my 15 year dream became a reality.
I donât think people understand and/or take me seriously when I say that this band changed my life.
Most people have seen a viral video of an autistic boy who was moved by Coldplay playing âFix Youâ live. Ladies and gentlemen, that was me when I was 5 years old (hence the â15 year dream.â Iâm currently 20 years old). When I was 5, A Rush of Blood to the Head was released (2002). I first heard âClocksâ on the radio on the way to kindergarten/elementary school. Like my fellow autistic in that viral video, I too, was moved by the ambience of Coldplay. Ever since, Coldplay has literally been the only music I listen to (well, except Adam Young AKA Owl City, but thatâs a different story..).
If it werenât for Coldplay, I would not be a singer-songwriter. Why do you think most of my covers are of Coldplay? My voice was shaped by Chris Martinâs unique and identifiable vocals. (Most) autistics have whatâs known as âecholalia.â You know how parrots repeat stuff back that humans say? Thatâs what echolalia is. Thatâs how I learned how to sing: I mimicked Chrisâ voice. All of their songs give me inspiration in one way or another as well. There is no band like Coldplay, and thatâs why theyâre the biggest band in the world.
For 15 years, I listened to every new song that came out; as soon as it came out. I remember in middle school, my best friend and I were freaking out over Mylo Xyloto. When I heard Coldplay were coming to Seattle back then, I was already crying. My dreams were crushed when my mom said, âYou have school the next day.â I was 14. My 8th grade year and life were ruined in an instant.
Then I heard about Ghost Stories, but also heard about how small the tour was. I didnât get my hopes up anyways, because Ghost Stories was actually my least favorite album. I thought for sure that it would be the last album Coldplay would ever releaseâŠ
of course, I was wrong.
When I heard about A Head Full of Dreams, I was over the moon. I was so hopeful that this tour was going to be huge. Besides, Coldplay themselves said it might be their last album. When they announced the first leg of the American tour, I was extremely sad to see that Seattle or anywhere in the Pacific Northwest werenât included. I had a feeling that theyâd be back, but I honestly thought it wouldnât happenâŠ
but in October of 2016, that announcement was real.
I saw it. In that quick few seconds of that announcement video, I saw the abbreviation, âWA,â of course meaning Washington State.
I dropped my phone. My dreams werenât shattered after all. From that moment, I swore that I was going to get those tickets to see the men that âruinedâ and saved my life.
As soon as those tickets went onsale, I was ready. At first, I was only getting seats off the floor, âWhat? Why is this happening?? Why canât I choose my seat?!?!â My mom knew how big of a fan I was, and I started bawling to her. âCalm down, Sweetheart. Youâll get those tickets, and weâll do whatever it takes.â This was the woman that got mad when I told her that I wanted to be adopted by Chris Martin when I was 8 years old⊠anyways, I did calm down, and I tried using a different browser. By some stroke of luck⊠I got those tickets by the B-stage, and you better believe I bought them as fast as I could.
I cried I bawled. I just lost it. The concert was over a year away, but I was so ready to see my idols.
âââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
That day finally arrived on that beautiful day in September of 2017. I couldnât believe that nearly a year flew by.
The day started off with waking up at 11:00am and taking over an hour to put all of my stuff together. I then met up with my friend and we got a few snacks before heading to the stadium.
We arrived at CenturyLink about an hour prior to them opening the gates. We were the second ones in line, too! As soon as those gates opened, we received our Xylobands and love buttons. I was already feeling the love from Coldplay and their entire team. Then, after buying some merchandise, we finally walked onto the field.
Now, I should also mention that the Seahawks also play at CenturyLink, and my family have been season ticket holders; also since 2002. I have never in my life walked onto that field before. So when I stepped onto that field⊠I nearly fainted.
Not only did the Seahawks (my other idols) play here, but the stage that Iâd only seen in pictures for 2 years⊠was right in front of us. Just⊠right in front of us. Tears literally streamed down my face. My friend didnât judge me at all, but I knew I was a hot mess. I had no idea if I was going to make it through the whole show (literally).
I then found our seats, and of course, we took a few pictures. I didnât actually realize that we were only about 10 feet away from the B-stage. I thought for sure weâd be further away. Yep, I also flipped out then.
Alina Baraz was fantastic. I donât usually like opening acts, but Alina did such an amazing job. Her voice and her stage presence were very soothing. Dare I say she was actually better than Tove Lo (in my opinion). Then again⊠Iâm not really a big fan of Tove Lo. Sure, sheâs got a great voice, but as an asexual (a sex-repulsed asexual), her music makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. I found myself shaking my head during some of her songs.
Okay, and now for the moment youâve all been waiting forâŠ
BOI WHEN THAT INTRO STARTED, I WAS SHOOKETH.
This was the only part of the show that Iâd actually seen before-hand. I knew Chris was going to run down to the B-stage and do that flying thing he always does during the bridge of âA Head Full of Dreams,â but I still wasnât prepared. I was already bawling again. I couldnât believe it was him. I couldnât believe it was Coldplay. I couldnât believe they were in my city.
Throughout the show, Chris kept mentioning how much he loved Seattle. He mentioned Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Soundgarden, and how he would try to do âem justice (which of course he did). That small tribute to Chris Cornell also made me tear up. Soundgarden was another band I grew up with. Chris also mentioned that the first show they ever played in the United States was at The Showbox in Seattle. I had to look it up, but itâs true. I couldnât believe it. I was only 4 when they played there, but it was still awesome to hear. When the whole band moved to the B-stage, I held up the front of my sign. For those that donât know, the front of my sign said, âAfter 15 years of waiting⊠[My] Head Full of Dreams came true today (Coldplayer since 2002). #believeinloveâ I believe Jonny saw my sign, because he looooked in myyyyy direction (sorryâŠ), and he went from being serious to being extremely happy (nearly laughing)! That made me feel so good. At least one of the members saw my sign. Iâm pretty sure Chris saw it too, but it was too far away for him to read at the time. He squinted trying to read it, but yeah⊠I think he noticed it. Doesnât matter if he did or not though, I (somewhat) hope that Coldplay discovers my account⊠one day⊠maybe they already have⊠Also, before the show, a person working for the event came up to my friend and I and said, âThe band is going to walk right by your seats to the C-stage later tonight. Get your phones ready!â He was really nice the whole night. The other security people⊠not so much. When that moment finally came during the show, I was right in front of the tape they put out for the band so they had a clear path to the C-Stage. I nearly touched Chris, but was still 3 feet away from him. My arms werenât long enough. I still bawled like a freaking child, though. Finally, Chris said the following dialogue on the C-stage:
âSo⊠when we were just off-stage a second ago, Will said, âThe reason why this audience is so good is because theyâre called, âThe 12th Man.ââ Is that correct?â *audience fucking cheers loud af* âNo wonder your football team is so fucking good because they got you on their side, so thatâs amazing! Ah⊠I wish we could take you everywhereâŠâ I fucking died when he said that.
Meanwhile, the concert went by lightening fast. When they started playing âUp&Up,â I couldnât believe it was already over. I didnât even cry; I was in shock.
I never understood why some people on here wrote really long, sappy posts about the show. Now I do.
From now on, I am reading every new post about the show from someone elseâs experience. Now I understand why people share their experience. We all know that this band is what brought a lot of us, and the world together, but I never knew how big of an impact they made on other people.
I said this already, and Iâll say it again. Iâm sorry to my future (adopted) children, but that night was the best fucking night of my life, and it will always be. I canât even explain how I felt during that show. If you havenât seen Coldplay live, you need to. It will change your life. That was the most âFunâ (which, they didnât play live??) Iâve ever had in my whole life. Seeing the men that Iâve looked up to since I was a little kid⊠how do you even come close to explaining that?
Chris: â⊠I hope weâll always come back as long as you want us to; whether itâs The Showbox or CenturyLink!â
I sincerely hope so. Chris, Jonny, Guy, Will, Phil, and the rest of the team: from the bottom of my heart, thank you. You gave me a show and a night that I will never forget. Those 15 years of waiting were certainly worth it. âSee You Soonâ⊠-PJ (AKA Clodplaye; that chick that makes fun of you in the best way possible)
PS: HIGHLIGHTS (TL;DR)
Chris didnât fuck up during the concert
Chris said that their first show in the US was at The Showbox in Seattle (I know exactly where that is, and I freaked)
Chris sang a tribute to Chris Cornell (Soundgarden; formed in Seattle) at the end of âThe Scientistâ (âBlack Hole Sunâ)
Chris: âPearl Jam forever. Nirvana forever. Soundgarden forever,â and also said (somewhere) at the beginning of the show that he hope(d) Coldplay would âdo âem justiceâ (they did in my opinion)Â
âAnd this time, Iâm gonna say, âJUMPâ, letâs really fucking jump!!!!â ~Chris Martin
The band praising âThe 12th Manâ (now known as âThe 12s,â actually), and how loud and amazing we were (I would know, Iâve been going to every Seahawks home game since I was 5 years old as well)
Coldplay didnât play my request song. They played âUs Against the Worldâ (another request from Instagram) because of the live album! Chris said: âNow listen, I know some of you are superfans, and you probably say, 'You know, they keep getting the same song requested,ââ *laughs* âand youâre right, youâve called us out! Weâre making this live album, and uh⊠we wanna put this song on it-â *bangs tooth on microphone* ââŠis there a great dentist in the room? Anyway, âŠbecause we feel like we never quite got it right on record. âŠthis evening, weâre gonna try another take⊠maybe with Seattle and the 12th man⊠with a banged up tooth, maybe we can capture the right performance tonight with all of you, that would be wonderful. Thank you for letting us keep requesting the same song.â It finally made sense, and I was nodding in agreement when Chris said the superfan part. LOL⊠Iâm still salty that â42â wasnât played, thoughâŠ

276: The Art of Mise en Place
Mise en place in translation means is "set in place", often translated to "everything in its place".
Perhaps part of the reason cooking and baking can feel rewarding as well as relaxing is that there is a science to, and the unofficial science is something even the most novice cook in the kitchen can quickly learn - mise en place. But what exactly is it and what is the art of a truly effective mise en place? That is what today's post/episode is all about.
When I attended both Patricia Wells and Susan Hermann Loomis' cooking classes in France, mise en place was de rigeur. Each day upon arrival into their respective kitchens and to our assigned cooking stations, the food was already either prepared and arranged in the necessary bowls, or at the very least the ingredients were waiting to be prepared along with the necessary bowls. As well, the recipe was clearly typed and propped up and ready to go to ensure ease of preparation.

~Susan Hermann's stovetop~
As you will see in some of the images included in today's post, I was in awe and absolutely inspired by the organization in both kitchens. From Patricia Wells having multiple ceramic canisters complete with a label for multiple spatulas, peelers, and any other tool she would need to have her students use, to Susan Hermann's knives neatly and safely stored in the middle of her wooden kitchen island, every kitchen tool had a home, and all of the items we would need or that were regularly used were easy to find and thoughtfully placed where they would be the most handy to grab while cooking.
While mise en place often brings our attention to the recipe or meal we are cooking at the moment and the ingredients that are needed, in a larger context, mise en place is your kitchen, how you arrange it, how you work within it well, and the tools you welcome into your artistic space - your batterie de cuisine.
I have found my kitchen, especially my kitchen in my rental in which I lived for four years, to be indeed an artist's sanctuary of sorts because you are creating, you are exploring. Part of why I loved that kitchen so much (the kitchen you see in Seasons 1 & 2 of my cooking show) is due to how I felt completely at ease moving about it in, having enough space for everything I needed and everything being easy to locate and quickly so.
I am currently in the process of curating my new kitchen into a similar space so that I feel absolutely comfortable moving from here to there and finding exactly what I need. I look forward to making progress on it this spring if all goes well, and fingers crossed, hopefully have it ready to go for Season 3. But in the meantime, I am keeping in mind how a kitchen must be organized, how it needs to function for the cook that calls it home, that is the foundation of mise en place, and now let's talk about the benefits and how to create your very own successful mise en place each time you step into your own kitchen.
Benefits
1.Ensures you are prepared for the recipe you wish to enjoy
2. Saves time
3. Saves the food
4. Deepens enjoyment of the cooking experience

How to "Mise en Place"
1.Determine what type of mise en place you need
In theory, you will eventually come to a point where you tend to mise en place each time, but each recipe or meal or dish will be approached in its unique way. If it is a dish you enjoy frequently, such as a go-to breakfast, your mise en place will be a default you don't even think about any more.
In such a case, my steel oats is in a cannister by the stove with the 1/4 cup measuring spoon that I use inside, the chia seeds are in a cannister that I simply pour out of, also by the stovetop, the salt and butter on the other side of the stove, and voila, aside from the cream, when I include it, it remains in the fridge until it is needed.
Mise en place can be as simple as having your go-to items at the ready at all times, but it can also be for the detailed recipe in which case all of the ingredients are pre-measured and placed in their own separate dishes and bowls.
2. Read the entire recipe, twice.
Not only do you want to read the ingredients list, but be sure to read the instructions as well, and why I recommend twice is often I will read too quickly the first time and accidentially skip over something.
But even if you are a close reader on the first read-through, reading twice confirms the order you will need the ingredients as well as how they should be prepared - sliced, diced, left whole, etc..
Back to the ingredients: do you have what you need? enough of what you need? Double check.
If preparing your mise en place ahead of time, either the morning of or the day or two before, begin making a list of what you need to pick up at the market (and how much).
~fresh artichokes from Louviers' market and eggs as well~
3. Find the necessary dishes, bowls, containers.
As you become fluent in your kitchen, knowing which dishes you enjoy preparing and eating and sharing, you will with time begin to have the necessary dishes, bowls and containers you need. Along the way to building your batterie de cuisine (literally: kitchen artillery; otherwise known as kitchenware), use dishes that work well for what you need. They may not all look neat and properly sized, but they will work.
~Susan Hermann's collection of copper pans~
4. Find the necessary kitchen tools you will need and have them at-the-ready
Along with having the ingredients you need, locating and having at-the-ready the necessary tools will speed up the process and increase your enjoyment of the cooking process. Beginning with a sharpened knife, and the proper knife for what you are doing, having each of these tools ready to work for you is an often unstated, but vital part of an effective mise en place.
In Patricia Wells' kitchen in Provence, each utensil is given its own cannister and labeled.
5. Prepare the food as needed
From peeling, slicing, de-veining and cleaning the seafood or meat, tend to the food, so that as the recipe calls for each ingredient, all you have to do is quickly add it to the pan or bowl or grill or, you get the idea. :)
~mise en place at Patricia Wells' cooking class~
6. Place the food/ingredients in order of use in the recipe.
Depending upon whether you are left or right-handed, place the ingredients on the preferred side and in the order they will be added to the recipe. If items will not be used for some time, you can place them further away so they won't be knocked over or accidentially added, etc. .
7. Have a large bowl for discards and items to be taken to the compost or garbage.
Rachael Ray creatively called hers the "thanks for coming" bowl, and having such an item as part of your mise en place is a simple way of keeping your kitchen clean, or at least cleaner, as you make your way through your meal preparation. A large bowl enables there to be more workable space so you can swiftly move from one task to another without having to constantly clean up along the way.
8. Refrain from multi-tasking
As tempting as it may be, doing more than the task of cooking while you are preparing a meal increases the chances of overcooking, burning and therefore ruining the ingredients you have thoughtfully welcomed into your kitchen. Speaking from experience, even when I just cook my breakfast in the morning, when I go off to my office while the steel oats are cooking, there have been time when I have become so engrossed in what I was doing for work that I lost track of time. Respect the food, and give it your full attention until the cooking is complete.
Ideas to Improve Mise en Place
Keep a well-stocked Ă©picerie at all times
Listen to episode #109 for a detailed list of the 34 items to have and why, or pick up my 2nd book, and read through Chapter 12.
Begin to gradually pick up small bowls and dishes that catch your eye at second-hand shops, yard sales and antique boutiques, even brocantes if you have the opportunity to travel to France. Not only is it fun to treasure hunt, but they will add your signature to your kitchen.
Assess what tools you need in your kitchen and invest in quality items.
Equally, upon assessment, begin to edit/remove tools you do not need to provide more space for those items you do, making them easier to find.
Set up your kitchen so that it works for you
I feel fortunate to have had the opportunities I had in attending both of the cooking classes with Patricia Wells and Susan Hermann Loomis over the past two summers in France. I continue to welcome their ideas and incorporate them into my daily cooking practice.
The primary purpose for mise en place is to make your time in the kitchen successful. Impressively, the number of dishes and the multi-course meals each class would enjoy every single time we sat down to dine for a couple of hours at first glance would have seen impossible, but when it is broken down into clear steps, ingredients and amounts prepped and ready, it seems all but impossible.
Hopefully you too will find even more pleasure when you step into your kitchen. I certainly have an even deeper appreciation as well as fondness for the time I spend cooking and preparing and of course, enjoying the meals that are created.
Have a look at videos from both of my cooking class experiences as well as the detailed posts that accompany each one below.

Google Accelerated Mobile Pages - New January 2016
Googleâs Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) Project will roll out by February 2016. It means you have less than 20 days to prepare. So letâs have a quick look at what you should be doing: Whatâs this Accelerated Mobile Page (AMP) Project? The Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) Project is an open source initiative that has been created to provide fastest content browsing experience on mobile devices. If you are planning to opt for AMP, employ the following points:Do not keep forms on your pageForget about JavaScript, as they are not allowed. It's a prerequisite to have a stream lined version of CSS.Interstitials shouldnât pop up. However, you will still have access to analytical data & ads. It's known as Diet HTML. Click here from your mobile device to view a demo of AMP. Opting for AMP will not only provide users a faster surfing experience, but will also please Google as they are very much obsessed by fast loading pages. And as a token of appreciation, Google will rank you higher! AMP is basically for? As of now it is mainly for publishers who were losing audience and thus, revenue due to slow loading pages. So if you are not a publisher or content is not a major part of your business, then you should wait and let the dust settle. But if users visit your website for the content, then opting for AMP is a no brainier. How to create an AMP? AMPâs are abridged versions of your current web-pages. WordPress does have one AMP plugin, but it's new and thus can lack on some aspects. So either you will have to wait or just do it the old fashioned way. But donât worry, Google has published a step-by-step Guide to help you create your first AMP. Be assured that in upcoming days Google will try to simplify the process of making AMP because it's a highly ambitious project of theirs and they are really pushing it. Expect to see many plugins and new tools in the near future. Google has already added an AMP error reporting to Structured Data testing tool. So it's up to you, if you want to be ahead from your competitors and have an exciting start to the New Year. If your answer is yes, then you should go for it. But if your business is not heavily influenced by content, which is very unlikely, then you can wait for a while and then start along with the rest of the world. Some Expert Thoughts
  1. Save yourself some time & resources by diverting your efforts and focus from Google+ as it no longer has any effect on Local Search.2. Now a search on Bing will give you fact-based answers on certain topics. For instance: A search for any business name, phone number, etc. can be seen in the SERP itself. However, it's not yet fully launched and at present is available only for a selected few topics. But you can expect more fact based answers on a wider range of topics in future.Â
 3. Facebook is trying to follow some tactics of Google +. They have strengthened the Page Plugin that enables users to subscribe to events & integrate Messenger from the page.4. Since we all know that Google is finally dismantling Plus, it has removed Reviews from its social platform. However, there are some other ways using which you can add a review box generator.5. If you are really concerned about your content, as its importance is escalating really fast, you can have a look at Shaun Andersons's quality rater guidelines for better ideas.6. Sometimes linktations are enough to lift your local business' rankings but in less competitive markets. Have a look at Phil Rosek's list of linktations.7. Now changing location on Google is not a piece of cake. But there are 4 other ways to emulate location based searches:Append queries with & near locationAdWords preview & diagnosis toolSearch By Location bookmarkletChrome developer tool 8. âCTR is a ranking factor in local search.â As stated by a Google employee recently. However, that statement quickly changed to: The number of times it has been used before on the basis of relevance, eminence & distance. 9. It seems like Google is taking strides towards cleaning the bad advertising that goes on at AdWords. Google is following an FTC fine for False Advertising with a 3 week adjournment of the culpable Companies & compel them to change the ad landing pages.10. You are all invited to Google's âPut Denver on the map eventâ. The objective of this event is to encourage business owners to create a website for their businesses.11. Now start finding ways to rank on Apple Maps because it has been used 3 times as often as Google Maps on iOS devices.12. You can see a BIG Penguin update anytime soon. Many experts were assuming that the Penguin update might get launched around the New Yearsâ time, but Google knew that rolling out a Penguin update during peak shopping season will ruin many businesses. But as of now the dust has settled and you may want to disavow the bad links if you donât want to get penalised by the updates.13. Google has made available API for My Business to everyone.14. An interesting research by Elmer Boutin indicates that Google might start using review sentiment in local search ranking algorithms.15. Facebook is also willing to make review sentiment a strong ranking factor as they are encouraging users to go with the business that has the best reviews & ratings on their newly launched local business search engine
 16. Facebook & Uber join hands to enable users to book a ride directly from the messenger app. As of now, it is available for only select users in the U.S but will soon be made available for 700 million messenger users across the globe. Facebook is also trying to team up with Lyft & if the meeting goes well then you will be able to book a Flight too, directly from your messenger app.17. Google has become better at finding menus on hotel websites & showing the menu URL in the local knowledge panel. If you are facing any difficulties with the same, then use menu schema to sort things out.Â
 18. A pilot program from Google indicates that multi location businesses no longer have to continually mess with the Google My Business bulk dashboard. They can simply update the individual listings using the schema on their website.19. Google has published a list of guidelines for local business so that they can maintain high quality information on Google.Â
 20. Google will soon include the Info we provide via schema into the âknowledge panelâ. However, they are currently piloting this feature, but will make it available to more providers in future.Â
2015 brought some of the biggest changes and updates in digital marketing. Be it the launch of mobile friendly algorithm, several Phantom Quality updates, 28th Panda Update in July, death of Google Plus, Google as a subsidiary of Alphabet or the RankBrain, 2015 was jaw dropping from every aspect. As predicted, Mobile remained the focal area of Google in every facet. Not only has Google declared that a mobile optimized website is essential to rank higher, but it also launched AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) which took their mobile obsession one step further. Overall we can say that 2016 is shaping up as a year of immense opportunity for website owners. But before we step into the future letâs have a look at what we got right & where we went wrong in 2015. RECAP OF 2015 1. Google and HTTPSGoogle continues to push site owners to get HTTPS. They are not only displaying âUnsecured Connection Warningâ in Chrome but also sending âGoogle Console Warningsâ. Those warnings cover several practice error issues with SSL/TLS. Ignoring this will result into zero HTTPS boost for you. 2. Facebook Modification Facebook worked tirelessly & as predicted they made a direct play for search, unleashed Atlas targeting to a great extent, expanded into Mobile Payments and upgraded their messaging functionality. All these changes resulted into an enormous boost, both in their overall usage numbers & stock price. So far, Facebook played really well & it seems like they are going to shine in 2016 too. 3. Wearables Becoming PopularApple created a lot of Buzz when they launched Apple watch back in 2015. SEO & digital marketers' happiness was different from that of Apple enthusiasts. They were happy because now wearable gadgets are coming in fashion and it will unlock a whole new world of opportunities as they can provide us with real time data. However, the Apple watch wasn't a hit. But at-least they tried! 4. SEO Code of EthicsEveryone thought that the SEO code of ethics will formalize in 2014. Then we thought that it will arise in 2015. But it never happened. And thatâs good, because it would have done more harm than good. If you'd like to know why? Click here. 5. Mobile-Optimized ContentSite owners who were quick to react relished immense benefit by optimizing their website for mobiles. Google Mobile-Friendly Update also encouraged Mobile content, which was a win-win for everyone. 6. Google Algorithmic UpdatesGoogle owned the stage by launching algorithmic updates back-to-back. They rolled out a brand new Panda update, Mobile-Friendly Update, Multiple Phantom quality updates and is about to launch a penguin update in upcoming days. NOW LET'S LOOK AT WHAT DOES 2016 HAVE IN STORE 1. Structured Data will become a Ranking Factor Structured data is going to play a big role in 2016. Google will also focus on Rich Snippets, Knowledge Panels & Featured Snippets. They are about to publish guidelines on âHow to get Featured Snippetsâ. Basically, Google is trying to say that we havenât made structured data a ranking signal yet, but we will do it eventually! So it's better that you get on-board already. In case you are thinking what type of Structured Data will be good, you can go with JSON-LD, as Google is really fond of it. 2. 2016 will bring more updates to Local SearchGoogle revamped Local Search to a great extent. The removal of Google plus from the equation, enabling users to easily set the city location, shrinking the local pack from 7 to 3 results & increased number of ads totally changed the local SEO. But they are not done yet.Google will continue to push home services ads & move SMBs to a pay-to-play model. Be ready to witness more of this kind of ads. 3. Increased focus on User ExperienceProviding a great user experience is Google's paramount goal and they are just trying to serve their goal by pushing Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), mobile-friendly content, HTTPS, and page speed. If you want to rank higher in 2016, take a mobile-first design approach. 4. Improvement in the digital assistant space & wearables2016 seems to be really good for digital assistant space. While Cortana & Siri are getting better & better, there's one player that will join the game and bring variety to it. And that is none other than Facebook's highly ambitious project âMâ. Unlike Cortana & Siri it will be backed by both human/digital assistance making it unique among others. Also, we can expect to see a lot of wearable gadgets in 2016. Thus, we recommend you should at-least be aware of wearable SEO, so when needed you can employ and reap the benefits of being aware and prepared. Beacons will become more popular overtime and they will make it easy for you to connect with your existing customers. Also, you can expect new players such as Yext & their Xone beacons to enlarge nationally, as a medium to track offline customers online & then target them with re-marketing ads. 5. Virtual Reality MonetizationSamsung gear VR was one of the top Christmas items of 2015. It comes at a minimal price of $99, thus making it affordable to masses. Also since we all know that Facebook acquired Oculus Rift, we can expect to see more advancements in the VR space. It is estimated that the VR revenues will go up to 1 billion dollars in the coming year and will escalate to 4.4 billion dollars by 2019. So the company which will provide the best VR gear will reign supreme and will get to have the biggest piece of the 1 billion dollar cake. 6. The downfall of YahooYahoo is still going through hard times and it seems like they will have to sell their search units to someone else. However, they have made deals with Google and Bing, but they are not getting fruitful results and the company is still struggling to survive on various aspects. Many investors are now losing patience and blaming Marissa Mayer for not having a clear vision. Many experts are predicting that Yahoo may sell their assets to AT&T while some are claiming that Google will be the best bet. 7. Google will roll out major algorithms which will make site audit tougherGoogle will roll out both Panda & Penguin updates in 2016. They can be rolled out at the same time and that will be a major issue for website owners who keep getting hit (negatively) by these algorithms. Till 2015, it was a bit easy to identify the issues which got you penalized, but since Google's expectations from a website are growing, they are making more complex algorithms. So for SEOs it will be tough to identify the exact cause of penalty in 2016. If you are an SEO expert, it's better to understand how to correctly audit a site & surface all website issues. Final Takeaway Your actions, predictions, and preparations will decide whether this year will be great or worse for you. We recommend that you gather as much information as you can and closely monitor any updates that have the potential to influence the digital marketing space. That way you can achieve your goals in 2016.Â
Yahoo search is going to add new features for mobile users & will also roll out a search algorithm update. Yahoo mobile users will witness the following changes this year. Integration of Twitter Celebrity searches will return with top tweets that are related to the celebrity. Brand new image searchYou will experience a new way of discovering pictures of your favourite celebrities. Click on the photo of a celebrity and then you can explore trending content that is linked with that celebrity. Improved search experienceLatest news and happenings can be seen right on the search engine result page. Also, the search algorithms have been updated. So now you will see most recent and popular stories at the top of the news result thread. AMP compatibilityNews in Yahoo search is now compatible with Accelerated Mobile Pages. So get ready to experience faster mobile browsing. It's good that Yahoo finally launched some updates, but we donât understand why many of their updates are celebrity focused. Maybe their brilliant CEO has some mind blowing future plans, but as of now.... the updates are not interesting and useful. But still, it's very big and pleasing news for Yahoo mobile users (if there are any). Â
A key metric for almost any business is conversions. Many AdWords advertisers are already measuring their website conversions, using either AdWords Conversion Tracking or imported Google Analytics Ecommerce transactions. Measuring actual conversions is ideal, because it allows you to optimize your bids, your ads and your website with a clear goal in mind. However, hundreds of thousands of small and medium businesses aren't measuring their website conversions today. Some businesses may not have a way for users to convert on their website and others may not have the time or the technical ability to implement conversion tracking. The Google Analytics team is committed to helping such users use their data to drive better marketing and advertising performance. So, for businesses that donât measure conversions in AdWords today, Google has created an easy-to-use solution: Smart Goals. Smart Goals help you identify the highest-quality visits to your website and optimize for those visits in AdWords. Activate Smart Goals in Google AnalyticsTo activate Smart Goals in Google Analytics, simply go to the Admin section of your Google Analytics account, click Goals (under the View heading) and select Smart Goals. The highest-quality visits to your website will now be turned into Smart Goals automatically. No additional tagging or customization is required. Import Smart Goals into AdWordsLike any other goal in Google Analytics, Smart Goals can be imported into AdWords to be used as an AdWords conversion. Once youâve defined a conversion in AdWords, youâre able to optimize for
Optimizing for Smart Goals in AdWordsOne of the benefits of measuring conversions in your AdWords account is the ability to set a target cost per acquisition (CPA) as opposed to just setting a cost per click (CPC). If you arenât measuring actual conversions today, importing Smart Goals as conversions in AdWords allows you to set a target CPA. In this way, youâre able to optimize your AdWords spend based on the likelihood of conversion as determined by the model. Smart Goals will be rolling out over the next few weeks. To be eligible for Smart Goals, your Google Analytics property must be linked to your AdWords account. Note that your Google Analytics view must receive at least 1,000 clicks from AdWords over a 30-day period to ensure the validity of your data.
Facebook has been quite impressive so far with launching new updates. Now, they have rolled out some new features to business pages yet again and perhaps, you have already started using them. Your response time is central to the quality of your customer serviceYour response means a lot to your customers. No one can deny the fact that customers have the right to know how responsive a page or business is on a prior note before they message. To help customers know when they have to expect a respond, Facebook has revealed their new feature showcasing response time on Fanpages. Earlier, Facebook had set a high standard for the feature by adding the âVery responsive to messagesâ indicator only to Pages where 90% of messages were responded to within five minutes. Facebook has now taken the responsiveness of pages into a new level by segmenting them as âwithin minutesâ, âwithin an hourâ, âwithin hoursâ or âwithin a dayâ. The page Admin can keep it as auto or set any of the above time frames to show on their page. Redesigned inbox tells businesses more about their customers to better serve them
This feature has already been rolled out globally. The new Page inbox not only have the stunning look but also have many improved qualities. It made easy for the Page admins to manage interactions with the Fans. While messaging a fan, the new inbox would display past interactions the user had with the page and more information about the user like DOB/City/Job will be displayed on the right side. Even Admins can add tags to categorize conversations.       Read the full article
