personal stress reliever
author's note: yes bitch i struggled w this one so bad 😭 i had no clue how to go about writing this n i also didn't want to rush it but i didn't wanna like make it too long (n i probably did jus that, sowwy). o yea i also only like proofread this for like not even 5 mins so hehe
imagine toji in yet another zoom call for work n he's jus been so swamped and stressed with work that you jus wanna make him feel good. you look over at him while you lie on your back on the little black couch in the corner of his office, leaning back in his chair, hand against his lips and thumb resting under his chin as he listens to his business partner shiu ramble on about some changes the company is making. sounds absolutely fucking boring. so like the amazing gf and personal stress reliever you are, you decide to go and do that in the best way you knew possible.
you get up and get on your hands n knees n crawl under toji's desk, resting your plump ass on the heels of your feet, peering up at him from underneath with those big brown doe eyes, and bringing your index finger to your lips to tell him to keep it down. all he can do is look at you with wide eyes, already knowing what you were about to pull, but he lets you continue anyway.
you pull your perky tits from your tight little tank top, bouncing on release, and begin to unfasten his belt and undo his pants, pulling them down just enough for his cock to spring out, slapping against his lower abdomen. your mouth begins to salivate just at the sight of it. wanting to waste no time, you take his shaft in your delicate hands and begin to plant kisses from his tip all the way to the base of his cock before enveloping your plump lips around his reddened head.
you begin bobbing your head up and down taking in all of his fat cock, slobbering all over it, making it messy and nasty, just how toji likes it. one of his hands finds purchase on your head, pushing you down further, his fat mushroom head reaching your uvula, causing you to gag on his dick, saliva dribbling down the sides of your mouth and tears begin the well up in your eyes. unfortunately, toji's camera wasn't off; eyes half-lidded as he threw his head back, and a hand went up to cover his face as he let off a low grunt.
"mr. fushiguro? is everything alright?" one of the female employees says with concern.
"o-oh yeah 'm fine, just a headache that's all..i'll uh be right back," he mutters as he mutes himself and turns off his camera.
"fuckkk just like that princess," he moans as your tongue traces the prominent vein on his cock. you continue bobbling up and down on his cock, wrists twisting in a rhythmic movement as you continued to take him in your warm mouth. "missed that fuckin' tight little throat of yers, been so buried in work i forgot how fuckin' nasty that little mouth of yers was- shitt"
detaching your mouth from his cock, "jus wanted to make you feel good daddy, n i know how stressed you've been lately..." you say while pumping his cock in your hand "so jus sit back n relax baby, okay?"
"fuckk..yea okay doll.." toji mumbles as he lets off a groan. toji readjusts himself in his office chair so that he's now leaning back, hands behind his head as he lets you work your magic.
you place his cock in between your fat perky tits, holding them as you move up and down his shaft, occasionally giving his angry red head little kitten licks. you watch him gaze in awe as he watches his cock being devoured by your tits. "shit, i could watch my cock get swallowed by those perfect tits of yours all fuckin' day princess"
after a few minutes, toji begins growing impatient and begins to thrust his hips upward. not long after, his thrusts begin to get sloppier and his breaths begin to get heavier, signaling that he was close. "ohh fuckk just like that.."
after a few more thrusts, thick, white ropes of cum splattered all over your tits, and god does toji enjoy the view.
"fuck..ya gotta do that more often ma" he laughs as he catches his breath. you stand up with a grin on your face leaning in to press a kiss onto his lips, "anytime you want, baby"

Falling Apart (Lilia Calderu x reader)
Chapter Two
Available on AO3
Warnings? - Angst hehe
"Right, Mins, Time... to do your thing!" Agatha urged as she waved you on. A sigh left your lips as the coven looked at your with expectance. Feeling like an idiot you stared back. An awkwardness in the air. Your thing? Right... your thing. Forcing your shoulder's to relax, you turned away from the coven and faced the road ahead. Closing your eyes, you stood for a moment before reopening them to discover a trail of.... bright green smoke? Agatha smirked like the devil when she noticed your eyes change from it's normal hue to a gentle golden. "You see it don't you?" She leaned in close and whispered. Then, without another word, you began to walk. Agatha and the boy by her side, Teen, wasted no time in following. The others lingered slightly behind but followed all the same.
As you walked, you jumped as the woman at the back spoke out. Breaking your focus. "You know what this is?" You raised an eyebrow at her raised voice as you turned back to look at her. "This is a kidnapping, And I think it is about high time we involve the local authorities." She announced as she rummaged through her bag. A frown left your lips, confusion laced in your eyes. A kidnapping? Then it hit you. Your mouth became thin as you glanced to Agatha. She looked at you as if to say 'what?' before shrugging off your silent conversation. Not that it surprised you. It was Agatha after all. Yet, you felt a little bit of pity for the poor woman Agatha had tricked into coming.
Jennifer, seeming having enough of holding her tongue, looked around in slight annoyance. "Are we gonna ignore the fact that something chased us down here?" You couldn't find it in yourself to disagree with her. She had a point. The Salem Seven weren't something to just be.. ignored. Sharing a subtle glance with Agatha, you hid your concern. You still remembered the time that your sister, brightest transformation witch that had ever dared to be, was once approached by them. She had barely escaped with her life. Alice turned her body weight to Agatha, gesturing to her as she corrected that they had chased Agatha. Mrs hart, who was messing with her phone, frowned and slightly panicked when she discovered there was no cell service.
"Well, Whatever chased Agatha down here, it's our problem now." Lilia's tone was sombre with a slight hint of annoyance as she sent a side glance towards Agatha. You held your tongue as you continued to take the lead in the walk. Debating whether or not you should say something about the Salem Seven and who- No, what they really were. You decided to keep walking. Following the path lay out before you. Zoning out, you didn't bother to listen to the present conversation. As you walked, you kept your eyes on the trees around you while the group continued to bicker amongst each other. Jennifer caught your ear as she was complaining about not knowing what the group was up against. You paused. She had a point. No one, besides maybe Agatha, had an idea on what you all intended on facing. Lilia, deep in thought, looked down for a moment. "Tame your fears." she said, her eyes dawning with realisation. You looked back to her. "That's what we're up against." she frowned. "Our worst nightmares."
You felt yourself grow nervous. Our worst nightmares? Swallowing, you tried to hide your feelings and remain unnerved. Agatha seemed to catch on, however. blue eyes scanned your frame. Yet the older witch seemed to share your... feelings. Alice then asked Agatha what the trials were like. "The... road will test us." She began. "And our knowledge of the craft." Everyone seemed to share a look. A silent conversation. "One trial for each skill." Agatha finalised, studying the group. Jennifer looked absolutely appalled as she questioned how they were to pass with no magic. You frowned and gave a side ways glance to Agatha.
Teen, who seemed to be ever full surprises, stepped forward. There was a wide grin on his face as he spoke. "Well, there's always analog magic. You know, labour-intensive, manual acts of magic." He said like it was obvious. "Witchcraft!" he practically sang once her realised he had lost the group. "Emphases on the 'craft'." He forced a smile. Jennifer then asked the question that had been scratching your head since you met the boy. Who was he? "I'm-" Silence. You noticed the Sigil run across the boys mouth after he spoke.
Your eyes narrowed. How... Unusual. "Well, Ill be." Lilia smirked. "Someone's put a sigil on that boy." Then everyone, yourself included, looked to Agatha. You knew her well. It wasn't unlike her to do something like this. But the looks from the group only made her scoff.
"Don't look at me. I didn't put that clumsy glamour on him." She shrugged. "Sigils are beneath me."
As Teen looked confused, he asked what a sigil was. You were done observing the group and decided to let your own mouth loose. "A sigil is a type of spell, yes." You forced a smile to the boy. "In your case, the sigil appears to be a redaction spell." You began, adjusting your glasses. "Which means to... remove words or information." Your explanation was rather simple. "So... for better or for worse, you are hidden from witch folk. it's rather interesting." You summarised. "the only question is... why?" You hummed, your clawed nails drumming against your arm.
Jennifer watched you as you finished. "Looks like Agatha brought a sparkly little mystery with her." She sassed, ignoring Agatha's slight glare of annoyance.
"She was probably trying to keep him all to herself." Lilia hummed, with slight false amusement in her tone.
Agatha pulled Teen behind her as he asked why someone would want to hide him. But the question went unanswered. "Look," Agatha began, looking toward the group. "I have no idea what's under that sigil. He could be something special or he could be a pest that some cranky witch stashed under a rock. We can crack him open later." you smirked slightly, only slightly, at her words. "The real value lies at the end of the road." She smiled. she then gestured to Jennifer. "So, if you want to unbind," you noticed the potions witch take in a breath. "And you want to reverse your fortune" Agatha went on to Lilia as the older woman looked slightly uncomfortable. "And you," She continued to Alice. "Want to find out what happened to mummy. And you...." Agatha paused. Mrs hart was gone? Agatha scoffed, unamused. "I mean, you take your eyes off of her for two seconds..." She rolled her eyes.
You looked around. Scanning the area for the woman. "Can't you just sniff her out." Jennifer asked as she turned to you. Looking down at you like you were dirt beneath her feet. "That's the whole reason you're here, right?" she spat out as if blaming you for the situation.
Staring gob-smacked, you glared. The gold in your eyes becoming more prominent "Do I look like a blood hound to you, potions witch?" you hissed. "I'm your guide. I am not some glorified baby sitter." Just then, there was a scream. You looked up towards the sound then to the path. At least she went the right way. "This way." You urged the group. Alice was hot on your tail as you followed the path. Speeding ahead of you, Alice got to Mrs Hart just in the nick of time. The poor woman was nearly earth food. Sinking deep into the mud. Teen went to help as Alice pulled her out of the sinking mud. You stared for a moment. Well, that.. could have gone worse.
Mrs Hart attempted to wipe the mud off but it was mostly unsuccessful. Not that you were surprised. "You can't just walk off the road like that." Alice scolded lightly at the older woman. The older woman in her shock complained about it being a horrible party and you felt your lips form a tight line. Glaring at Agatha out of the corner of your eye.
Agatha sighed and tried to keep a level head. "Well, I thought this was pretty obvious." She hummed. "But for the uninitiated, rule number one - Do not step off the road." Agatha announced clearly. "So if we just follow the instructions of the balled, We'll be as safe as kittens." She smiled widely and winked at you. You rolled your eyes. "Okay?" she smiled but Mrs Hart, and understandably so, was slightly upset with the whole affair. You noticed Jennifer walk off slightly and kept your eyes on her. She called everyone to look. There was something different about her voice. Something light.... hopeful. Following her gaze, you noticed a large beach house. Where-? You found yourself taken back. How did such a thing... just appear?
Taking Agatha's lead, you followed the older witch onwards. The change of ground made you shiver slightly. sand had never been your favourite thing to walk in. especially when it got in between your toes. Staring in wonder, the group approached the door. Lilia traced the markings on the door and you caught yourself accidently staring at her hands. You cleared your throat and looked away, ignoring your slightly flustered face. "The phases of the moon." Lilia's words hung through the air.
Teen looked in interest. "Its full... the water phase." he smiled brightly. Lilia looked at him, her brown eyes bore how impressed she was with his comment. It only made him smile wider. "So... what do we do?" He asked curiously. Mrs hart went ahead and rung the doorbell, claiming that we didn't want to surprise anyone. But that was short lived as Agatha just opened the door anyways.
Once inside, you were caught off guard. You looked down to your clothing. Your red tartan coat was gone and was replaced with something... plainer. A grey blazer hugged your form. The black trousers you were wearing were tight and the t-shirt match with silver markings. The heels were grey and matched the blazer. You hair was loose and you ran your clawed fingers through it. It was new... You noticed Lilia looked noticeably different. Her tight curls were gone and she was dressed in mostly white. She was wearing a silk scarf though. Having a look around, everyone took in the new surroundings. It was a fancy place. You looked to a few of the paintings and tilted your head. Just then, Mrs Hart exclaimed her love for the kitchen. Scaring everyone in the process. You took in some deep breaths. Trying to relax yourself. This was fine. It was calm.
Teen then called from the dining area of the house. It didn't take long for the group to gather into the room like a bunch of rushing hens. "What is this?" Agatha asked as she snatched the card from his hands. "A wedding? Please God, not a baby shower." She groaned before Jennifer snatched it from her. Frustrated, Agatha threw her hands up. Wondering where she got the audacity.
"The witches' road cordially invites you to the first trail." The potions witch read clearly before flipping the card over. Her eyes lighting in wonder. "It's a riddle." She spoke softly before beginning to read the riddle. "My age has value. I'm no fun alone. I mess with your mind, my tricks are well known." She then looked to the group. You were no luck in riddles, unfortunately. Your sister used to be so good at them. She could've made the mighty sphinx run for her money. Jennifer then passed the card on to Mrs Hart. You smiled softly when the woman examined the card.
"What does it mean?" Teen asked, curious.
"That it's really expensive." Mrs hart hummed out. There was something in the way she said it that made you laugh. Agatha's eyes were immediately drawn to your face when the laugh left your lips. It had been years... beyond years since she had heard that sound come from you. It made her a little relieved that after all this time you still had that same humour about you. Even if was buried deep deep within you.
Alice, who now held the card, repeated it's contents. "It sounds like a witch." Agatha said as she rolled her fingers. Jennifer made a snarky comment about it sounding like Agatha and Agatha paid in due by mimicking the potions witch.
Mrs hart, who had turned around, sang the word wine and Alice's eyes lit up. "That's it, ten points for Mrs Hart." She smiled. Turning around too, you saw the wine on the dining table. Accompanied by six glasses. Immediately, you didn't trust the liquid and it would seem you weren't alone on that train of thought. "Wait, we don't know what will happen if we drink it." Alice said, worried, as Mrs Hart grabbed the wine bottle. It made the blonde woman hesitate and she went to set down the bottle.
Agatha looked to Alice. "Oh, sure we do. Something terrible." She said with a straight face. "But if we don't follow these obvious breadcrumbs, we cant move forward and we wont get to the big prize." Everyone shared a nervous and unsure look. "So, does anybody have a cork screw?" She asked and grabbed the wine bottle herself. Teen offered to go get one from the built in bar and Jennifer accompanied him. When they returned, you noticed a slight change in the boy. You adjusted your glasses wondering what had gone on between the two. Once the bottle was opened, Agatha poured everyone a glass. You stared at the glass. Unsure whether you really wanted to drink it or not. "If you're waiting for a charcuterie, I don't think its coming." she smiled widely. With that, Mrs hart wasted no time getting the red liquid down her. You stared at her as she chugged it down before telling everyone not to judge her.
Just then, the timer beeped. Thirty minutes. You swallowed as Agatha raised her glass. You copied and the group followed suit. Toasting. After clinking your glasses together, teen approached and asked if he could have some. An echo of 'No's filled the room. "Should we take the girl talk to the sofa?" Mrs Hart asked. You all followed suit. There was tension in the air. Swishing the liquid in your glass, you frowned. It didn't smell right. But then again, what type of alcohol ever did smell lovely? Ignoring your instincts, you took a sip. Agatha sat down beside you as Mrs Hart began to talk. You noticed her wine glass was not in sight but decided not to question it. "Okay. So, a witch is really just another name for a bad girl? Is that right?" She asked and for a moment, you smiled gently.
"That is extremely reductive." Lilia began, her legs crossed on the arm chair. she sat like a queen. "We are not a Monolith." She hummed. "And, you know, I blame Halloween. Do you see any pointy hats in here? any green skin? any brooms? No, sir." She ranted before taking a sip. You smiled. A genuine smile. You took the second to admire her. Agatha eyed you, a look in her eyes told you that wheels in her head were turning. You decided not to look in her direction. Agatha didn't back down, giving you a knowing look.
Mrs hart stood and walked off slightly. "Well I am not saying that I wanna join the club or anything, but I would drink the blood of a virgin if it would smooth out some of these wrinkles." Mrs Hart said as she wondered. When she turned back to face the group, a sharp gasp left your lips. Staring like you had been slapped, you looked over the blonde's face. It was swollen. A mummer of 'oh my god's uttered through the room. "Oh, you are so sweet." Mrs Hart gushed. "I don't really think I need it either." She laughed, seemingly oblivious to what had happened. Alice tried to gently approach Mrs Hart, or rather Sharon as she called herself, about the swelling. "Is it bad?" She asked lowly. Bad!? It was horrendous!
A light glare graced your face when you looked at Agatha as she said that Mrs hart looked fantastic. Jennifer stood up suddenly and looked beyond terrified. "We've been poisoned." she said in a panic. You felt yourself crumble. Everyone ran to a mirror. You traced over your skin. No no no... no way. You looked like a grape. You hated how swollen you looked. Like too much Botox gone wrong. "Mrs Hart, you are so pretty." Jennifer forced out to Mrs Hart. "But since you were the first one to drink, you're our canary in the coal mine." Jennifer explained. However, Mrs Hart took another sip of the wine in her panic.
"Oh for crying out loud, she's lost her wits." you groaned as teen snatched the glass off of her. Reminding her it was poisoned.
Agatha, who was on the other side of the room, shouted across. "Why don't we just let her drink it all!" The group looked at Agatha with slight disgust. "uh.." You tilted your head as she began to fiddle with her hair. "It just... serves our best interest is all." she said trying to keep her hair out of her face.
Jennifer went back to questioning Mrs hart about the symptoms. You watched nervously but your attention was soon drawn to Lilia. She looked dazed out. "I love you guys." Your eyes widened slightly. What? Your lips became thin as you watched the older witch. Unsure where that had just come from. But then you noticed how her eyes began to adjust once more. As if they were coming back to the present reality. "What?" She asked when she noticed everyone was staring at her like she had three heads. Did she not remember what she said? Just then, Mrs hart said that she felt better. Immediately, you went to check your face. It was seemingly back to normal. You sighed, relieved.
However, Jennifer was quick to burst your bubble. "Not yay... very much not yay..." She said into herself, thinking. "The fact that the face swelling decreased so quickly mean it can only be one time of poison." You felt your palms grow sweaty. this was bad. this was very bad. "Alewife's revenge." She spoke, the concern clear in her voice. "Face Swelling is just the beginning. Next is dizziness, delirium, loss of motor function." You shared a nervous glance with Agatha. A silent conversation of panic. "Also hallucinations and eventually..." She hesitated. "Death."
The blue eyed witch wasn't having it. You noticed a change in Agatha's eyes. A change you had seen too many times. "Agatha." You scowled, slightly nervous as the older woman raced over to the window. "Agatha, wait!" You panicked. Agatha picked up an onement and began to bash it against the window. You rapidly approached the older witch as the group yelled at Agatha. "Stop it!" You hissed and tried to claw the object out of her hands but her desperate grip was tight. During your tug of war, Alice grabbed Agatha from behind and pulled her away.
With Alice's aid, you yanked the object off the older witch's hands. Ignoring her yell.... roar? of frustration. You held the object close to your chest. Keeping it far from Agatha. Jennifer told Agatha that she couldn't run from the poison. Then, Teen held a full wine glass. You stared at it then to Agatha. "She didn't drink the poison... " The boy said as he approached slowly. "You can't cheat, Agatha." He frowned.
"Why?! who says!?" Agatha demanded. You scoffed. Nothing had changed. You were a fool for thinking other wise. God, you were an utter idiot for doing this.
"The road." Lilia said, her voice strong, clearly frustrated with Agatha.
Agatha rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Oh that's ridiculous!" She hissed at Lilia. You scoffed. No, her behaviour was ridiculous. "We don't all have to suffer!" You felt yourself lose a few braincells. How, after all this time, was she still acting like a child throwing a tantrum. "Teen didn't drink!" Agatha argued. You rolled your eyes.
Jennifer was quick to argue back. "He's not in the coven and he's underage." She gestured to teen. It was clear everyone in the room was seething with anger.
"I'm gonna shove it down your gullet, so help me-" Lilia snapped.
Agatha snatched the glass out of Teen's hand. "Oh, you know what!" She grunted and threw the glass to the floor with a force. Smashing it. The red liquid stained the white sofa and carpet. Well, well done Agatha. Jennifer yelled as it it the ground. Alice told Agatha that she had to drink but the older witch was having none of it. "Well, I would but there's no more wine." She smirked at them. "So?" She shrugged. The noticed your disapproving look. Alice picked up her own wine glass and and stared at it. Just then the empty glass began to fill out of of nothing. Red liquid filling half way. As Alice held the glass out for Agatha, the brunette twitched. Clearly uncomfortable. "So cute." She muttered. Teen stepped forward. He held eye-contact with Agatha his eyes stern as he told her to drink. He scoffed then threated to drink it himself. "No!" Agatha yelled then grabbed him back. You watched interested by the desperate changed in Agatha.
Agatha scoffed as she took the drink, she forced it to her lips and drank. Twitching as she did. Once she finished, she held back a cough. Agatha muttered something about it being so cheap. Just then, You turned to face Mrs Hart as she began to mutter pleas to herself and someone called Wanda. You stared, Utterly confused. "Oh, god." You gasp when she fell. Alice caught the woman and sit her on the sofa.
"Hey, Potions witch." Agatha called, her face now as bloated as yours was a few moments ago. "it's time to brew an antidote." Agatha hummed. You kept your eyes on the older witch. This was going to be interesting.
--I_I<-)0(->I_I--
"All right," Jennifer began as she set the timer on the counter. The kitchen lights were dimmed. "Let's see what we're working with here." she said, deep in thought. "I need frankincense and the gut of a eusocial insect." She hummed as she thought about the ingredients. Alice and teen took off quickly to find the frankincense and honey. She then looked between Agatha, you and Lilia. You stared at her, waiting for her next few ingredients. "I need a corpse that's been decaying for at least 30 million years." Your eyes widened. A what? Where would one even require that!?
Agatha seemed to share your train of thought as she threw her hands in the air. "Oh, is that just something that's available cause I don't know what you're talking about!" She exclaimed as she looked Jennifer up and down.
You looked between the two. The tension was insufferable. "Why do I have to translate?" She asked, frustrated. "It's zooplankton. It's in petroleum products." she explained and looked to Lilia for support.
Lilia nodded, taking the potion witch's words into account. Agatha took your arm as she looked to the Divination witch. "Lilia, come on." Agatha urged the older woman who was already walking at a fast pace. "After you. Let's go. Andale!" Agatha rushed out as she kept you by her side. Chasing after Lilia. As you walked by Agatha's side, you paused.
"Minerva." A voice hissed through the air. Ghosting across your skin. Making the hairs the back of your neck stand up. You knew that voice better then anyone else. "Minerva." The voice called out again. You stilled, staring wide-eyed. Agatha shook your arm, causing you to look at her. She was... speaking? yelling? yet you could not hear. Her face was smothered in concern. "Minerva." Your head snapped in the direction of soft voice. When you turned to look back for Agatha, she wasn't there. You swallowed thickly and adjusted your glasses. Nerves running through you. The voice called your name again. You licked your unusually dry lips and with a deep breath, you took a step toward the voice. Michelle's voice.
With each step you took, the walls seemed to... grow smaller. Placing your hand against the wall in attempt to steady yourself, you noticed how it changed from lavished wallpaper to dark hard wood. At the end of the corridor stood a door. You tilted your head. It looked familiar. Reaching for the handle, you hesitated. Closing your eyes, you opened the door. A gasp left you as fresh air entered your lungs. "Your late, lass." Your sister glared gently. Her accent was as thick as you remembered. You stared wide eyed, shrinking slightly under her green gaze. Tearing up, You looked upon your sister slim form. You suddenly felt much smaller. "Come now, it won't be long till Agatha comes back." She scowled. "If only Ma could see you now." She shook her head and turned her back on you while she continued to clean.
Deciding to approach with caution, you called for her but she didn't seem to hear you. "I didn't ask for any of this, you know." She scowled. "Don't you think I wanted a normal childhood? Instead.... of taken care of you. I never wanted to leave home. To leave home for this... clatty country! But Da found out. And what was I to do, Minerva? Ma had already been put to death by the local church." She hissed under her breath, the weight and build up of all her hidden thought coming to surface. You took a step back. You felt like a silly little girl all over again. You hadn't even felt the tears run down your cheeks until you touched your cheek. "I gave you everything and what did I get? I worked.... And I worked. I suffered!" She cried out.
You could take it anymore, you reached for your sister. "Michelle... stop it..." You whispered and tried to touch your sister. "Please, I'd never... I'm sorry, Michelle." She turned to face you, causing you to stumble back slightly. She... her skin... gods. You couldn't look. It was rotting. Your sister's once perfect and pristine face was crumbling, cracking and collapsing.
"I should have let father killed you then... Had I known.... " She sobbed, screaming. Your heart was racing. Michelle's skin was decaying. Worm eaten. "Look at me! Look at what you caused!" She screamed, spitting at you in the process. She grabbed both your arms and shook you. "I should've let Da throw you in the loch!" You sobbed. Her words hitting a cord within you.
Michelle continued to shake you. You closed your eyes. Why wouldn't it just stop! "Minerva!" Agatha's voice rang through your head. You eyes snapped open. Where Michelle had once been, Agatha was now in her place. "Snap out of it!" She hissed as she continued to shake you. You sobbed and launched yourself into her arms.
Agatha froze as you sobbed into her neck. "Aggie..." You cried. "Michelle... she..." You didn't dare to continue. Agatha was frozen for a moment before she stroked your hair and sighed. Nodding to herself. You calmed down quickly, suddenly feeling very embarrassed and vulnerable. You noticed Lilia's eyes were stuck on your form. Concern laced into those soft eyes. You cleared your throat and pulled away from Agatha. Your cheek's darkened as an awkward tension was left in the air. "Let's just continue, shall we?" You whispered and hugged yourself in an effort to keep yourself steady. Lilia nodded to herself and led the way. Agatha stared at you for a moment but you shook her off. Not wanting any questions.
Making your way to the garage, Agatha turned on the light. You panicked. There was no car. Lilia's lips became thin as her brows furrowed. "No car. No Gas." She frowned in worry.
You looked between the two. "What else had petroleum in it?" You asked, confused.
Agatha thought for a moment before running off with the word 'Jelly' leaving her lips. Finding yourself with no other choice, You shared a quick look with Lillia before following Agatha. Agatha led you both to a bathroom area. On the shelves was full of Jennifer's skin care. You raised an eyebrow. Really? "Ugh." Agatha groaned. "Of course, Jen's skin care made it to the road." She complained as she looked over the products.
Lilia looked confused as she held one of the tubs. "But it's all... organic. There's no petroleum in there?" she said as she eyed the product. Agatha shrugged and said about calling her bluff. You nodded to yourself and began to pick up some of the products. "Try to save Agatha." You were taken back at Lilia's sudden words. What did she mean? It was quite similar to how she reacted earlier on. The same dazed out eyes.
You blinked a few times. It felt like a staring test between the three of you. No one knowing what exactly to say. "um... Yes, I love this plan but.. I just think we should find the ingredients first." Agatha forced an awkward smile. You eyed them as Lilia slowly turned her back and picked up a few products. Once you had gathered some, You all went back through the halls. Trying to reach the kitchen.
As you walked, you noticed that Lilia was no longer behind the two of you. "Agatha..." You paused and she looked behind her to look at you. She looked at you expectantly. "Lilia's gone. We can't just leave her." You said like it was obvious as you eyed the corridor for the older witch.
"Can't we?" Agatha snarked with a smirk. However, when she saw your glare she frowned and shrugged. "You're no longer any fun, Mins."
You ignored her and retraced your steps. As you did, you felt a body clash with yours. Lilia yelped in surprise. You steadied her for a moment, Your eyes wide with worry. But she only pulled away from you and landed with her back against the wall. Trying to get away. Her chest was rising up and down. Whatever she had seen had clearly scared her. She looked like an injured animal and you didn't dare approach. When she spoke, it wasn't in English. It was foreign something you hadn't heard before. She closed her eyes. You shared a glance with Agatha. Even she looked concerned for the older witch, surprise in her eyes. When you looked back at Lilia you saw the utter pain in her eyes. She was still not looking the two of you. Perhaps expecting to be mocked.
For a while there was only silence. You let her calm down a little on her own. As you did, Her eyes slowly turned to look at you and Agatha. Both of you stood unmoving. Faces soft with gentle silent comfort. "Lilia..." You whispered softly. "It's okay..." You hummed and took a little step forward towards her. Her breathing was still uneven but you didn't dare push the woman. She swallowed and closed her eyes for another moment. When she was calm again, she looked to you and nodded. Agatha wasted no time in the leading the two of you back. You lingered behind a bit to keep an eye on Lilia.
Returning to the living room, you suddenly felt very loose. Agatha wasted no time in announcing that You three had successfully gotten the ingredients. "What's next!" Agatha barked. But as she did glass cracked. You tensed as looked towards the large windows. Agatha stepped forwards, her eyes narrowed as she tried to make out the cause. "What.. is that?" She asked and very slowly approached. Following her lead, your eyes widened as you got closer. Lilia wasted no time in staying by your side. Her expression mirroring your own. Your head was reeling as you came to terms with what you saw. The house appeared to be deep under water.
The water was leaking into the room through the crack. The crack Agatha had made earlier. Jennifer confirmed it was salt water. Alice glanced at the group momentarily. "How long is that going to hold." she asked with a slight twinge of fear to her voice.
You tensed. "I'd rather not find out." You hummed and glanced to the protection witch.
"No, thank you." Agatha rushed. The group, bar Lilia, ran to lift Mrs Hart. You held the woman's upper body, careful with her head. As you carried her into the kitchen, Agatha looked to Lilia. "Move those pears out of the way." She said like an order as you approached the table. Lilia nodded and acted quickly, rushing to move the decorative pears out of the way. Setting the woman on the table, Alice glanced your way. Seemingly thankful for your aid.
As you gathered around the sink, Jennifer took lead. "The elements need to be added in a certain order in a specific time." She clarified, You felt hot. Really hot. Like the sun had blasted you with it's flames. Your breathing became heavier. You noticed that Lilia, who stood beside you, seemed to be in a similar state. "Starting with gut and eye." Jennifer said as she dumped the ingredients in. Alice tried to aid Jennifer but the other woman waved her off. "No, no, no, no, get out of here." She quickly said. She then looked to Agatha. "Where's the zooplankton?" She asked.
Lilia wobbled slightly, loosing her balance before she fully leaned on the table. Agatha, in her poisoned state, smirked. "All natural or not, Jen?" You glanced to Agatha as she teased her while waving the skin care products. Jennifer looked conflicted for a short moment before telling Agatha to throw it in. "Knew it." Agatha said smugly as she and Lilia dumped the skin care into the sink. Lilia, who seemed to be completely... out of it, leaned against you when she looked her balance once more. You tensed but did not remove her. Alice struggled with the frankincense, so much so that she could not open the small tub. Just as Jen was Complaining about it, Teen offered his help. Then, after a few seconds, the water began to turn a shade of pink. "Its... working? it working, right?" Agatha asked desperately.
"What? What's wrong?" Lilia questioned, her brows furrowed. Her eyes full of uncertainty and fear.
"Any bright ideas on how to set this thing to boil?" Jen frowned nervously.
Agatha freaked. "You didn't think of this before!?" She snapped at the potions witch.
You stared wide eyed. Was Jennifer serious? "While I was in the middle of a traumatic hallucination?" Jen glared Agatha down. "No, Agatha, I did not." Hissed the tall woman.
For a moment, you found yourself twitching. Your jaw clenched and you stood to your full height. "We all had traumatic hallucinations." You gritted. Lilia glanced to you. Most of this time you had been quiet. She couldn't help but wonder what went on in your mind. So closed off, yet there were hints.. moments of vulnerably... frustration.
Teen, in an attempt to stop the tension, put himself forward. "Uh, is there a sous vide?" He asked as he began to rummage in the cupboards. Agatha cringed as she asked Lilia what it was. But Lilia looked just as lost. "It's a super fancy cooking tool. it heats water to a specific temperature so that you can cook your meat evenly." He explained as he found the object. Plugging it in the sink. "My dad loves his." He smiled briefly.
Jennifer called his name as she struggled. Now losing control of her body Like Lilia had. Teen grabbed the wooden spoon before returning to the sink. Waiting for Jennifer's instruction. "I need you to stir with your right dominant hand, counter clock wise." She said, out of breath while she came to his side. Hovering near the sink to keep an eye on him. Teen looked clueless and Jennifer raised an eyebrow. "To the left." She elaborated and he took in her words while stirring. "Everyone, pull a strand of hair out of your head now." She hummed. "A single hair only!" She hummed.
You winced as you yanked a strand out of your head. You were waiting for the next instruction from Jennifer when you noticed Agatha's change in demeanour. You called her name but she didn't seem to hear. Frowning you called again as she began to walk away. Jennifer shared a look with Alice. Suddenly, Agatha was kneeling her back turned to you. With a gasp, she sobbed and fell back on herself. Her hand covering her mouth. It looked as if she were trying to get away from something. You stared at the older witch. Worried beyond measure. "Agatha!" Jennifer snapped, drawing Agatha out of her vision. Agatha scrambled to stand up. She looked around her. Terrified. "Agatha, we need your hair." Agatha approached and yanked a strand out of her head. "Now." Jennifer told the group. You dropped your hair into the sink, watching as the others did the same. "Stop stirring." Teen stilled. "We need to clasp hands and clear your minds." You took Lilia's hand in one and Teen's in the other. Lilia was shaking. "Once our intentions our aligned, it will glow a bright cerulean." She said.
You closed your eyes and tried to focus. Shouldn't be too hard... right? "Wait, what our intentions again?" Agatha asked cringing hard, still taken back by her vision.
"To not die." Jennifer forced out.
Keeping your eyes close for a few moments. You tried to think of how nice it would be not to drop dead in a few minutes. You opened your eyes when you heard Alice speak. "I get cerulean and chartreuse confused..." She admitted sheepishly. "Is cerulean the green one?" Teen shook his head with a frown. Correcting her by telling her it was blue. "Then it's not working." Your body tensed. Great. this was how you died?! Absolutely fabulous. Teen panicked slightly and tried to explain it was like... a teal. You felt your heart jump in your chest. This was a disaster.
Lilia's hold on your hand tightened. You weren't too sure she realised she was still holding it. "It's green, teen!" she exclaimed.
"We only have a minute left! What have you forgotten?" You demanded, staring daggers at Jennifer. Your eyes held the fear lingering all over your body.
Her eyes mirrored your own. "I Don't know!" She cried. "I've never made this potion before!" You felt the heat rising. You took off your blazer and through it to the side. "I make retinol serums for Christ's sake!" She hissed. "There was once a time where I would be able to solve this a wave of my hand, but now? I'm bound!" She shouted, the panic and built up energy finally getting to her. "He stole my magic! We're all gonna die here! I do not want to die here!" Jennifer hissed and took a step back. "This is not where I die!" she yelled, as her breathing became even more uneven.
Agatha grabbed her by the shoulders in attempt to get through to her in some way. "I have always hated you." She admitted, keeping her grip tight on Jennifer's arms. "But I left you alone because what you were doing was important." She continued, the honesty dripping from her tongue. "Not this kale care crap. the real work. you can be that witch again. they can take your power, Jen, but they cant take your knowledge." Agatha finished. You stared at the interaction. Jennifer remained unresponsive for a moment. As if she wasn't fully processing Agatha's words or the meaning behind them. "Jen?" Agatha urged.
"Blood."
Smirking, Agatha's eyes filled with glee when Jennifer gave her an answer. "Who's and how much?" she questioned. When Jennifer mentioned the blood of the unpoisoned the weight of the room shifted. Agatha side glanced towards teen and you didn't know what to think. The boy swallowed nervously as Agatha went towards the knives. Grabbing one she stormed over to Teen and grabbed his hand. "Thanks for being underage." She said as she sliced his hand open, ignoring the short protests from Lilia.
Then, with the blood in the sink, the potion colour began to change. Bubbling like wild as it did. You grinned like the Cheshire cat as it settled into a bright blue colour. Perfect. With Jennifer's okay, You wasted no time in getting yourself some of the antidote. Chugging it down, You winced as it attacked your throat. The taste leaving a surprisingly bitter after affect as it scratched down your throat. However, once it hit your depths, you relaxed. Sharing a look with the group. You laughed in relief as you felt yourself return to normal. The victory was short lived. Jennifer noticed the timer was still ticking. "Mrs Hart!" Alice realised. In a flash, a small bit of Anti-dote was passed down the line to Alice as she carefully forced the liquid down Mrs Hart.
"DUMP IT IN HER MOUTH!" Agatha yelled desperately, hints of frustration in her tone. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. Your head snapped in the direction of the timer beeping. "Did it work?" Agatha asked. Suddenly the oven door slammed open. Jumping, you stared at the open door. Clearly that was your way out of this hell hole of a trial. Slowly approaching, you stayed a little behind Lilia as she lowered herself to look in.
Lilia's face became a scowl. "I am NOT climbing in an oven." she grumped slightly. You raised an eyebrow at her out right denial. "That happened to a friend of mine once," She stood straight to look at the group. "She had a lovely house too, and she ended up-" Lilia was interrupted by the crashing of waves. The glass from the windows had smashed right through. You stared at the water, completely gobsmacked. No. You hated water! Lilia and the others screamed. Jennifer was not taking any chances as the water slowly began to fill the kitchen. She was quick to harshly push Lilia out of the way, sending her stumbling backwards, toward you. Luckily enough, you caught her without fault. You glared daggers towards Jennifer as she slid down the oven and disappeared. You guided Lilia towards the oven, despite her resistance. She out right refused. "Nope! NO!" She cried out.
You bit the inside of your cheeks and your lips became thin. "If we stay, we'll be worse off!" You yelled over the overwhelming noise from the water. "I promise it'll be okay but we need to go now!" You urged her forwards. She stared at you, horror woven into her gaze. She looked back at the sea water filling the room then bit her lip. Braving it, she knelt and climbed into the oven. Once she was in, You turned to look for Agatha. You wouldn't leave her. Lilia stared at you, waiting for you to join her. Walking through the water, carrying Mrs Hart, was Alice, Agatha and teen. You moved out of their way so they could put her in the oven.
"Just shove her in there! just shove her! Shove her in there!" Agatha yapped. Lilia helped take Mrs Hart before hesitantly sliding down with a terrified scream. Alice told teen to go and he did. Agatha rolled her eyes and shoved you forward after Teen had slid down. Forcing you to go after the teenager. You didn't dare protest and followed suit. As you slid down, a scream echoed through the tunnel. Agatha cringed when she saw more and more water flooding the kitchen. she pushed herself in front of Alice. "ME NEXT!" she yelled and slid down after you.
At the end of the... tunnel slide? You yelped as you bumped into Teen. Having domino effect on the ones in front. You groaned and coughed out. "Bloody gods above..." You muttered. However, Your peaceful moment it didn't last long as Agatha came sliding down at full speed, tumbling as she did, hitting you in the back. You hissed out in pain but the older witch didn't seem to care. Out of the corner of your eye you noticed that Lilia seemed... alight. Agatha stood and pushed past you, you rolled your eyes as you watched her struggle to get through the tangled bodies. In her effort to get out of the mess, She pushed teen and Lilia to the side. You sighed. Typical. When Agatha passed Jennifer she kicked her rather hard. But what else were you really expecting?
Taking in a deep breath, you stood fully and gave yourself a once over. You were drenched like a wet dog. Lilia leaned against the wall as she tried to come to terms with what just happened. The near death experience hitting her deep. You took off your red tartan coat. The bloody thing was dripping with water. Agatha flicked some hair out of her face. "A little rusty there, Jen?" She snarked as she eyed the potions witch.
Jennifer glared at the blue eyed witch. "A little traitorous there, Agatha?" Jennifer sassed back.
You held back a bitter smirk and lowered your head. Before the two could continue to bicker Lilia hushed them. "Stop." She looked them up and down. "We're alive..." Her tone dropped... she was relieved... shocked... "We made it through the first test." Lilia turned to scan the group. Her eyes scanning for your face. "Everyone is safe." She nodded to herself when she saw you staring at her.
Teen voice interrupted the still moment. "Not everyone." He corrected, sorrow in his tone. "Sharon's dead." He closed the blonde woman's eyes. You stepped a little closer, your breath caught in your throat.
Agatha glanced around the group. "Who's Sharon?" She asked, confused. You felt yourself shrink at the older witch's words. Your hand came to your face. Oh god.
--I_I<-)0(->I_I--
Pacing in your other form, the wheels in your head were turning. Alice had suggested taking a break for a while... to adjust to recent advents. You had found a round patch for the group to rest for now. The leaves felt soft... almost pleasant under your small paws. As you paced, Your pointed ears flicked in the direction of the group. You couldn't believe that a woman was dead already. How? She drank the antidote, didn't she? Walking away from the group, you decided you needed some time alone. Properly alone. However, You didn't dare stray too far from them. To your surprise, it would seem your thought of privacy was shared. There, a short distance away, on a fallen log sat Lilia. She seemed deep in thought. You debated whether to approach or not. But with one first step, your mind was made up.
Approaching slowly, you waited for her to noticed you. With luck, she did. If she was surprised she didn't show it. The older witch simply stared at you, blinking occasionally. With a few more steps, You slowly transformed back into your original state. You frown and adjust your glasses. "May I sit?" You asked and gestured to the spot next to her. The older witch thought for a moment then nodded with a small weak smile. It was thin and you would have missed it if you hadn't been looking at her properly. She looked... Beyond stressed. Her curly hair was slightly dishevelled. As you sat down, you sighed. The weight of the day laying heavy over the two of you. "You shouldn't stray to far from the group..." You whisper gently hoping she wouldn't take it the wrong way.
Lilia scoffed faintly but it only made you smirk. "I needed some time away." She admitted. You tilted your head when she said that. Your eyes softened. Of course, it was understandable why. The day had been... too much. You thought to your sister and frowned. "So... A tabby cat?" Lilia forced a smile trying to change the subject to something lighter. She didn't want to bring her problems onto you. You fondly shake your head as she spoke. "I had a friend once that was like you... a transformation witch, I mean. She could transform into a large grey wolf." Lilia's eyes became distant. Almost as if she were watching the memories right there and then. "She was a sweet woman despite it. She... was murdered during the trails. Saving my life actually. She lost control of it and... well, I'm sure you can guess the rest." She frowned, her fond memories turning sombre. You wondered what it must have been like. To live as long as Lilia had. To experience so much pain and loss. It would kill you.
"It must have been hard." you whispered and moved a little closer to her in silent comfort. "I'm sorry for it."
The older witch waved you off, not wanting your apologies. She'd rather hide that pain. "What I was trying to say was.. It must be nice to shed your skin and forget about.." Lilia hummed with a soft smile. "Well, I'm sure you know what I mean." She whispered. "I always did like cats. It must be exciting to have an ability like yours." She continued, still deep in thought.
You laughed and her attention fully snapped to you as if she were confused on what exactly was so funny. "Yeah." You chuckled. "It's all fun and games until your throwing up hairballs early in the morning." A wide grin appeared on the older witch's face. She laughed of to the side slightly. As if embarrassed that she was laughing in the first placed. You joined her and for a moment. The air felt lighter. You relaxed slightly and noticed how her posture mirrored your own. Despite being on such a risk filled journey you felt safe. If only for a moment. Brown eyes met your green. You swallowed. The two of you continued to stare for a moment until Lilia seemed to remember herself and looked away, turning her gaze to the sky.
Lilia, nervous, Fiddled with her rings. "You trust Agatha." She brought up after the moment had gone. The fact hung in the air. You glance at her before looked at your clawed hands. Yeah, you trusted Agatha. Many would call you a fool for doing such a thing but... After everything that had happened. "Why is that?" The grey haired witch asked curiously. Her eyes running over you with a little suspicion.
Taking a moment, you were quiet. Debating on what to say, you sighed. "Do you know the tales? Of my sister and I coming to America? The Smith sisters." You questioned. Lilia hesitated for a moment before nodding. She knew little of the tale and she doubted what she heard was accurate. "When Michelle and I fled from Scotland in 1710, I was only four. Our Ma had been killed a month before that. Michelle watched it happen. She saw our Ma strangled before they threw her into the flames." You clarified and continued to look a head, not wanting to face the older witch. "My sister was only sixteen. The only reason she had not married at thirteen was because she was rebellious and Da didn't want to give away an improper woman. She was scheduled to marry the priest's brother's Lad." you frowned. Lilia eyed you, Her eyed held an interest. In all honesty, this information wasn't entirely relevant but perhaps it gave some context. However, you were mainly telling it to talk about your sister. Her struggles deserved to be known. "But That never happened. After we fled, We spent four years traveling. Looking for a safe place to live. But with Michelle being a young woman with no money and an eight year old... Well, I'm sure you can imagine how hard things where." Your eyes became dark as you thought about it. You could still remember your sister being an utter mess as she would steal food and let herself starve so that she could feed you.
"Over time, Michelle became desperate for some kind of salvation. She stole money off some... lord of England." you continued with your tone lowered. "She'd never tell me how she managed to pull off such a feat but I still remember the ugly red bruises on her neck. With that money she bought us ticket to America. To start fresh. Took us two and a half months over sea but we made it. So many lower class had died on that ship. When we got there, we had stolen from the wrong pocket. Agatha's. She recognised the magic in us immediately. Well, more the magic in Michelle." Surprised laced in Lilia's deep brown eyes. The more she heard, The more she disliked. You held your coat closer. "I don't know how it all happened.. There was a connection between them, I guess. Michelle took to Agatha like a moth to the flame and before I knew it, our group of two became three." You smiled with hints of fondness. "Agatha would teach Michelle and help her with care of me and in return, Michelle would help with any tasks Agatha would need down. I'm positive there was more to their deal but I don't know what." You shrugged. Lilia looked conflicted as she heard about this.. side of Agatha. "I suppose, I trust Agatha because she was the one that aided us. Because she helped Michelle raise me. We probably would have died without her." You whispered, turning your gaze to Lilia. She looked... unsure. Her brows were furrowed and her eyes held a concern. Her lips were thin. You sighed. "I'm not saying you should trust her. But there's more to her then what meets the eye. If there wasn't. I wouldn't be here." You sighed.
Lilia shuffled a little closer. It was a small movement. One you would have missed if you weren't paying attention. "And where's Michelle now?" She questioned curiously.
A bitterness played in your eyes as you turned to look at the sky. "Dead." The word left a thickness between you. "She went on a... mission some years ago with Agatha and... " You frowned when you remembered Rio. You cleared your throat. "Well, she never came home. Agatha won't talk about. At least not properly. Whatever happened on that day still haunts her." You finalised deep in thought as the older witch nodded along.
The curly haired woman eyed you with slight you worry. "Do you think that Agatha might have..." She paused. Eyeing your body language before deciding to go through with her words. "Drained her?" The words hit a nerve in you.
It was a fair question. One you thought about everyday. It was the reason you stopped talking to Agatha and cut her off in the first place. Yet, you thought back to Agatha and Michelle's... friendship. Agatha would never mean to hurt Michelle. But what if they were in a situation where only one could make it out alive? You bit the inside of your cheeks. "Until it is proven that she did. I will remain by her side." You explained lightly. You sigh and stand. Taking in a deep breath. You turned back to look at the seated woman. "Come on, we shou-"
"Stop it!" you jumped slightly at Lilia's sudden change in demeanour. Your eyes went wide as you stared at the woman who was now looking very dazed. Tilting your head, you inched a little bit towards the older witch. She looked as if she couldn't even see you. Her eyes were so out of focus.
Debating on how progress, you very gently called her name. "Lilia?" She didn't respond still in her.. lucid state. Cautious, you kneeled in front of her. You didn't want to scare how when she was in this state of mind. Being slow, you very carefully took her hand. "Lilia? Can you hear me? What do you see, Lilia?" The woman blinked rapidly when she heard your voice and felt your touch. Her brows furrowed and she looked to the spot beside her, where you had once been. The older woman looked confused on why you had suddenly 'teleported' spots. She looked down to your hand in hers. Her mind catching up with what happened. You gave a supportive smile and pull away. Leaving her hand slightly reaching for yours. "Come on, it's about high time we return to the others. Lilia nodded to herself and stood, brushing down as she did.
The walk back was quiet, but not uncomfortable. As you returned to the group, Agatha watched you like a hawk. Her gaze questioning. You ignored it but that was short lived as the blue eyed witch approached you. "What was that about?" She hummed with her arms crossed. You said nothing and watched as Lilia said down on a rock near Jennifer and Alice.
"Nothing... Nothing at all."
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This one is such a long chapter I was soo worried about it being too long and boring, so hopefully you've found it enjoyable. Thank you so much for reading this chapter!
I really hope you guys like it so far and I really cannot wait to get into the next chapter and to show you all what is to come. This is currently my favourite project. Also did anyone else panic for nothing over this weeks episode cause I was shitting myself thinking it was going to be Lilia's trial. 😭 I'm terrified for next weeks
I would like to point out that I'm dyslexic so I'm sorry for any mistakes and I'm assuming there will be a good few in this chapter because of the length. Please let me know what you think! I'm always reading the comments and looking for your thoughts and taking them into account and they help a lot with motivation.
Lot's of love and I hope to see you in the next chapter! 💜
(Remember to continue to thank and praise Patti Lupone in our prayers)

A/N: it's Yoongi's POV!!! yes i'm on the midnight sun trend hehe. sorry for the slight delay, but here it is in all its glory, hopefully you'll enjoy this chapter too ^^
I threw back the remnants of my whiskey and sighed with the pleasant burn. I wasn’t exactly having the best evening and I entirely blamed Jimin for it. And Tae too, he wasn’t about to get off scot-free. I wasn’t even supposed to be in Dynamite tonight and the incessant buzzing of my phone in my pocket kept reminding me that I was sorely needed in The Rose to deal with a difficult customer.
The longer I stood in the hallway leaning against a wall waiting for Taehyung to show up, the more nervous and pissier I was growing. Someone kept blowing up my phone as if that was going to get me there faster, when I had to take over from Namjoon to deliver these documents and Taehyung was late. I tapped my foot on the floor impatiently and hypnotised the corner leading to back to the club with my eyes. It was just one of those nights.
Ten minutes later I finally lost my patience and made my way back into the main room and beelined straight for the bar.
“Hyung,” Yeonjun greeted me as soon as I got there and automatically reached for my favourite whiskey, “Rough night?” I just hummed, too frustrated by the absolute shitstorm today was to keep up the friendly chatter.
“Some fucker’s tearing apart The Rose because Jimin messed up and Tae’s late,” I grumbled and accepted the glass gratefully. I kicked it back in a single gulp and handed the glass back along with the folder of documents. Yeonjun looked at it confused but accepted it nonetheless.
“Give this to Taehyung once he finally gets here, thanks,” I said and immediately turned to leave. It didn’t sit well with me leaving it here just like that, but Yeonjun was trustworthy, the kid’s proven himself a few times since he started working the bar here, so I at least felt a little consoled by that. And if he did try to fuck me over, I knew who I left it with last, so it would be fucking stupid.
My phone started buzzing again, but this time it was a phone call. Jimin. I gritted my teeth and moved back to the empty hallway to take it.
“Hyung, please, Mr. Cho is going to kill me,” Jimin pleaded immediately, “He’s been asking for you for the past 30 minutes.”
“You were the one that messed up his order, Jimin,” I said irritated, “You should deal with it.” There was a beat of silence which allowed me to hear the distant screaming in the background.
“I know, hyung, I’m sorry, it won’t happen again,” the blond man answered, and he sounded so genuinely remorseful, I didn’t have it in myself to keep scolding him. I let out a sigh and took it a bit easier on him.
“I told you to check the goods,” I chided him a bit more gently, “and to make sure you’re working with reliable sources. You sold him subpar shit for the full price. We can’t have that happening at The Rose.”
“I know, hyung,” Jimin repeated, and I could hear his pout through the phone, “I’m going to deal with Dongwook once I’m done here.” I smiled a little at that. Jimin often fooled people into thinking he’s soft and weak with his angelic looks, but he was a force to be reckoned with once crossed. So many have tried to fuck him over thinking he’s the weakest link only to be very painfully proven wrong by him.
“Take Kookie with you, I think he’s with Namjoon right now,” I told him simply, much less angry than when the conversation started. I checked my watch again. Taehyung was still nowhere to be seen, even though he told me he’d be here almost a half hour ago. Jimin on the other side of the phone just hummed.
“Do you know where Taehyung is?” I asked him, some frustration making it back into my voice, “I’m going to have to teach him what 30 minutes mean.” Jimin started answering but was cut off by aggressive knocking on a door somewhere in his background.
“Oh no,” he just said, “That’s definitely Mr. Cho. When are you going to get here?” I sighed and pinched the root of my nose.
“Put him on the phone,” I told him and leaned fully on the wall to prepare myself for this. There was some shuffling, muffled screaming, then the door opened and suddenly I could hear the man yelling at full volume. Jimin told him something and it made him calm down a little. Then I could hear heavy breathing.
“Mr. Min,” Cho growled into the receiver, “Explain yourself. I paid full buck for this shit, it’s barely consumable. I gave it to my boys and they barely even touched it.”
“Calm down Mr. Cho,” I said calmly, “Jimin made a mistake by not checking it over, but there seems to be some attempt from our suppliers to fuck us over. We’re thoroughly investigating it now, my apologies. If you could wait a few days, I’ll get you your usual. And a guaranteed discount on the next batch.” Technically, I wasn’t even lying. There was an attempt to fuck us over, only they weren’t our usual suppliers, they were some ghouls Jimin was trying out. I warned him to be sure they’re trustworthy and he assured me everything was under control. Sure seems like it…
“Fine,” Mr. Cho finally gritted out, “You’re so fucking lucky your services are otherwise top-tier, or else I’d you have you swimming with the fish.” I fought to supress a scoff. Mr. Cho has always been like this, all bark no balls. He loved to threaten others as if he had some power, but all he had was a hefty inheritance that has thinned considerably through the years he spent getting high in my clubs. Always quick to blow up and throw his name around, but calmed down the moment he spoke to me cause he knew I wouldn’t tolerate his bullshit.
Jimin fucking hated him and hated dealing with him, cause he’d always get yelled at for everything, but it would get resolved the moment I’d get involved even though I said the same thing Jimin did just moments before me. Mr. Cho would always grumble and make vague threats, but ultimately go with it cause he knew if one of us had the power to make people disappear in the river, it was definitely me. That’s why I occasionally took the time to remind him of his place.
“Be careful with your words, Mr. Cho, to some they could be taken as a provocation,” I warned him with a faux friendly tone, “Give the phone back to Jimin.” The order was clear, and Mr. Cho didn’t even argue more, thoroughly settled and not interested in getting into more trouble. There was some shuffling and then Jimin was back on the line.
“Hyung, thank you,” he heaved a sigh of relief as the door slammed shut on his side, “He just left. I don’t fucking understand why he always needs to hear from you when I tell him the same shit. What did you tell him anyway? He deflated like a carnival balloon.” Jimin chuckled a little and I hummed.
“The usual stuff,” I answered vaguely, “I gotta go now. If you hear from Taehyung, tell him he’s dead meat.” With that I hung up and went back to the bar.
Only, I stopped dead in my tracks on the way over. There, sitting on a bar looking incredibly out of place in plain t-shirt and jeans, sipping on a drink and watching the dancefloor with intense displeasure, was a quite familiar face.
Immediately on my return from the station last week I had Jungkook run a background check on the new officer in the force. I was surprised I managed to miss they got a newbie, but now I was as familiar with her as she was with me. What I didn’t expect though, was running into her in one of my clubs. I took a moment to watch her, coming up with a strategy on how to deal with this. Either she’s here undercover or she’s a naughty cop and wants something. And finding out which one would infinitely improve my day.
Mood instantly better at the prospect, I made my way over to her side. Looking back, I had no idea I was about to step into something that changed the course of my entire life.
In terms of first meetings, it was a tense one. Surprisingly, I found her quite easy to read, with her pursed lips in annoyance and fire in her eyes. She had the aura of a new young cop, eager to prove themselves, eager to solve all crime. It made me want to mess with her.
Every fibre of her being just screamed ambition and conviction, and even though I could see her naivety, I sensed the sharp edge that she was carrying inside. I knew, this was a person that has fought for everything, and they would continue to claw their way up until they tore themselves a piece of the world they deserved. In shock I realised I saw a little bit of my younger self in her, which forced a surprised laugh out of me. We both strived for different things, but I recognised the emotion with startling clarity.
Maybe that was what led me to talking more openly than I usually did. But somewhere deep down I needed her to understand. The world isn’t what she wants it to be, especially not in these parts. The sooner she would realise that the easier it would be to swallow.
Really, I shouldn’t even have been surprised when one day Jungkook came into my office with a tablet in hand and a serious look on his face. I immediately turned away from my notebook and leaned to the side, preparing myself for whatever he had to show me.
When the tablet finally did make it in front my face, it was a picture of a black, old and slightly banged up car. The car that we’ve noticed cruising suspiciously around a little too much. Jungkook’s tattooed finger swiped right and the next picture showed a close up of a driver taken probably from some nearby security camera. It was our little friendly neighbourhood police officer.
I smirked to myself. So, it seems she does not in fact know how to step away from things that might prove to be a little too much for someone with her ambition. I hummed to myself a little, not knowing whether I was disapproving or impressed at her continued ignorance despite my warnings.
Jungkook swiped one last time to a document showing the license plate being registered to her name. I laughed and leaned back, making myself comfortable in the chair. Jungkook, on the other hand, sighed and put the tablet away.
“What do you wanna do about that?” he asked seemingly neutral, but I knew the look on his face. It was the kind of disapproval I saw in him often when police force was involved. He believed I should be more careful and not toe the line with the detectives this much. Jungkook already knew I wouldn’t ask for him to deal with it, but that I would let things progress naturally, and he was preparing himself for swallowing the order down even though his opinions differed.
“Jungkookie…” I sighed, “What am I supposed to say when you look at me like that?” I teased him gently, giving him a little smile.
“Hyung, you know how I feel about this,” he explained softly, looking a little more like a kid when he pursed his lips like that. I often felt guilty about pulling him into this shit all those years ago, no matter how much Jimin insisted the kid’s okay with it, that’s why I always treasured those moments when it was just the two of us, when Jungkook would stop being the mad dog protecting a criminal and go back to a youngster playing around with his hyung. I patted his shoulder and tried to look as reassuring as possible.
“It’s fine, Jungkookie,” I assured him, “I’m not gonna get in trouble.” He looked at me like a kid that already knew the Santa wasn’t real and felt insulted his parents still tried to bullshit him every Christmas.
“You’re playing with fire too much,” Jungkook answered petulantly, “You’re making my job infinitely more difficult.” I sighed and stood up. Jungkook had a sudden growth spurt some years ago and now towered over me like a mountain, so I found myself looking up even though I wanted to console him. I gently clasped my hands over both of his shoulders and smiled again.
“It’s going to be okay,” I whispered, “I swear. I know what I’m doing.” He frowned but ultimately said nothing.
“Let her be for some time,” I ended up declaring after a moment of silence, “I want to know what she’s doing. What she wants to know. Then we decide what to do next.” Jungkook tensely nodded and looked out of the window with a grumpy face. I laughed at him a little and patted his head. That set his mood a little better.
“Do you think they’re back to tailing us?” he asked eventually. I had gone back to looking over the email I had been in the middle of answering, so I looked up at the younger man surprised he chose to continue with the subject.
“Hard to say,” I hummed thoughtfully, “I don’t think so. She’s not using the official police car, but hers. I bet she’s on her own.” I wondered what she was trying to do, following me for days. With a slight smile I looked out of the window and zeroed in on her car parked a little ways away from the building, but still within eyesight.
What game are you playing, officer?
In the end Jungkook didn’t let me allow her to stalk us longer than a few days before he started pushing me to deal with it properly. There wasn’t a clear read of what her goal was, which disappointed me a little. I doubt she was in it just to follow me around and watch me run errands, but maybe I was expecting a little more than she actually planned on achieving. I didn’t know why that bummed me out so much and I didn’t want to dwell on it, lest I start sinking into some uncomfortable realisations.
I was aware that part of this sudden sympathy was coming from knowing her personal history, and I couldn’t have that. Not when her story was so similar to my boys, not when it made me soft while dealing with potential danger to everything we worked so hard for.
She was the other side of the coin of kids growing up on the street – you either end up a criminal or the police. Her injustice made her want to solve everything wrong with this world. Our injustice made us realise the perfect way to exploit a broken system. But really, we were both one and the same, born from the same mud and moulded by the same violence.
In some way, it made it even harder for me to understand how she could stand on the side of the law.
But in the end, I did have to deal with it. Except I wouldn’t. Few days later when I was sitting in my office with clear view of her car and Jungkook’s burning eyes throwing daggers my way, I decided it was time to test her a little. Just a little push wouldn’t hurt.
I went out the side door, the one I knew she wasn’t aware of so I could give her a little surprise. And I wasn’t disappointed. Laughing at her frustration was easy, toying with her notebook and watching her nervously eye me was easy, teasing her was easy, and before I knew it, it slipped out.
“Good job. Try a bit harder next time, though.”
The second I said it I knew Jungkook was absolutely going to whoop my ass and Namjoon will wholeheartedly agree that I deserve a good thrashing. But I also had my own game and the burning of her eyes when she internally cursed me out made me want to see where this one was going. I left with a pep in my step even though I felt Jungkook’s disapproving aura.
“Relax, Kookie,” I told him once we were comfortably sat in our car, “We just need to know where exactly she’s going with this.” The man just stared at me blankly before resigning on this.
“Fine, but if I think she’s getting too close, I’ll report her to the police for stalking and harassment,” he growled and sulked the entire rest of the way. I couldn’t even tell him not to do that, so I conceded on it. We both knew what the stakes were.
“We haven’t been visited by our blue friends in a while,” commented Taehyung one normal Saturday and thus cursed it into existence, as not even ten minutes later Jungkook got a call the cops are demanding entrance into Pied Piper.
I groaned and leaned my head on the top of the couch, as the two youngsters started bickering.
“You just had to fucking jinx it,” Jungkook whined and Taehyung laughed at him. “We were all thinking it!” was his defence while popping fruits in his mouth. I tried to just disappear into the sofa. Today I was not in the mood for the police at all.
“God, why now,” I allowed myself to whine out and pout a little, giving them a little rare cute display of displeasure. I was fucking exhausted, it was one hell of a week dealing with the mess Jimin made.
The rats were trying to dodge us and make a run for it, maybe seek help from one of our rival gangs, but I had Jimin and Hobi track them down before the end of the week. As usual, Hoseok worked his magic and found them within two days, but the problem was they already moved onto enemy turf. And if I didn’t want this to turn into a big mess, I had to bargain them out. So I spent the week going back and forth with the Kims. First I tried being nice, explaining to them I will deal with this and it will be easier for all involved if they just move over and let us do our thing, until I ultimately had to subtly threaten them to get the fuck out of my way or we burn our path through their ranks too. I had just enough of snarky interactions for one week.
I swore that once this has been dealt with, I would fucking tear Jimin into two and the man was very well aware of that, so he has been acting cute and sending me little gifts, teasingly telling me he’s “trying to get back into my good graces”. That did put a little smile on my face again, as I did have a huge soft spot for him, and gave me tiny bit of energy to deal with this tonight. I sighed. The sooner this is over the better. I resignedly gestured at Jungkook, and he immediately called back to allow them entry.
“I bet you 200 bucks the other half is trying to mess with the dinner the mayor planned for today in your hotel’s restaurant,” Taehyung said eagerly, moving closer to us to look at us expectantly. I looked towards Jungkook, too tired to play this game and kind of hoping for him to take the lead, but he only shrugged.
“Ugh, I think it might be The Rose,” I said eventually when the silence stretched on for too long, “they may have caught wind of the scene Mr. Cho made there.” We both looked at Jungkook again, but he didn’t say anything and just threw his hands up in an ‘I have no idea’ gesture.
Few minutes later the bouncer entered the balcony and behind him Jang and lo and behold – officer Lee, our righteous stalker, the warrior of broken laws. Immediately, my mood skyrocketed. Now this should be fun.
“Did we crash a funeral or what? What’s with the fits?”
That startled a laugh out of me. What an entrance. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Taehyung leaning forward in interest and immediately knew that these two, if given the chance, are going to be the biggest menaces and pains in my ass.
I’ll be honest, I did want to test her a little. Find out how strong her resolve actually is and how good she is at reading the room. While Jang pissed me off and kept his mouth running, I focused on her body language and facial expressions, which was a beautiful blend of resistance and nervousness. I thoroughly enjoyed the uneasiness with which she was watching everything around her, no doubt remembering our first official meeting. “No one is above the law”? Well, look at you now, officer. Unwittingly I smirked into my glass.
This time, I took my time to ease into the teasing and tested her reaction to little quips here and there. I knew she wouldn’t want me to go talking about the time she spent lurking in front of my office, ever since I confirmed her actions weren’t sanctioned by the department, so I tried an inconspicuous little remark about it.
I wasn’t disappointed.
It took me years to perfect “the stare”. The maknaes especially always made fun of it, but even they couldn’t deny it worked. While yes, part of it was an intimidation technique, but what I truly was interested in was the person’s reaction and, inevitably, when they met my eyes, what I would find reflected in them. Cowards wouldn’t meet my eyes at all, those who tried to put up a fight but ultimately would break under the pressure looked for a moment and then turned away or their eyes flitted around and never stayed on anything for too long. Shifty people who tried to fuck me over also had a specific look to them, I could tell just from a single glance that they were greasy motherfuckers not worth anyone’s while.
What I saw in her eyes when she looked at me head on, was pure fire. For a moment I lamented that she wasn’t on our side, because I would kill to recruit someone like this for us. She was playing it well, and even though I could see her discomfort, there was weight to her stare, and a challenge. From the corner of my eye, I could see Taehyung watching her with rapt interest and even Jungkook seemed to pay more attention. They knew about the trials I sometimes put people through, and would no doubt ask me after the police left what I had seen.
I smiled and relaxed. I could see Taehyung do the same while he leisurely sipped on his margarita. He undeniably already knew. Very well then, for now we would continue playing this game. I even found myself quite eager to see what was in store for us in the next few weeks.
It’s not that the other policemen were bad or lacking, well, some of them were, but particularly Park and Jang, who I’ve seen the most around, they weren’t exactly bad at their job. Just… Park was a little too old-school, he was intelligent and experienced, but left lagging behind the modern world. His eyes spoke of an upright but boring man, a jerk but one that couldn’t care less about some clown sitting in an expensive suit in a club he owned spouting bullshit. That’s why I did quite like the man, I could respect him to some extent, despite everything.
Jang on the other hand, my dislike for him knew no bounds. He was a slimy little shifty fucker, all polite smiles and acting decent, but I’ve dealt with enough scumbags to know not to trust a guy like that. There was something about him that rubbed me the wrong way and made me wary of him; honestly, I was just waiting for him to slip up to deal with him.
When they left, just as I expected, Taehyung leaned towards me and whispered: “So that was quite good.” I hummed and kept my eyes trained on the stairs. Jungkook had left to deal with the situation at the office, where presumably Namjoon had been going through another impromptu interview, so we were the only ones left in the club.
“It was definitely interesting,” I answered finally. This time it was Taehyung that hummed.
“So it’s safe to say we’re not getting rid of her that easily,” he mused out loud in between chomping on strawberries and sipping on a fresh drink. I snorted and looked at him. I gestured at Soobin, who was left here by Jungkook to supervise over me until he either returns or I go home, and he nodded and made his way back to the bar to get me another whiskey.
“No, I think we’ve only just begun.”
I finally checked my phone to see a few messages from Joon and surprisingly even one from Hobi. I scanned through Namjoon’s, which could be summed up to “police showed up, don’t worry I have everything under control”. I wasn’t too sure what Park was trying to achieve by this, but I trusted Namjoon to deal with these things completely. We’ve been by each other’s side for as long as I could remember and we’ve seen it all together, I knew his capabilities and there wasn’t anything the police could do to move him.
Taking the fresh whiskey from Soobin who had just returned, I opened the chat with Hobi. His message was short, simple and perfectly ominous.
Hope, 19:22: got em hyung, me w/ boys gonna deal with it 2nite
I smiled and sipped the cool drink, at long last able to fully relax into the couch and just let the background hum of music lull me into a state of comfortable calm. At least one thing would be handled. Next to me I could hear Taehyung make mindless conversation with Soobin, but at that point I was already half asleep. With a slight smirk on my lips, I took another sip and knew. No one would fuck with me.
“Is it just me or we haven’t seen our little detective in a while?” Tae asked while leisurely lying on a sofa in my office. Seokjin turned to him and then back to me to gauge my reaction. I made sure to keep my face neutral as I returned his stare.
“Last time you said that they showed up like ten minutes later,” I murmured looking out of the window on the snowy streets as if expecting the police van to materialise out of thin air.
“Yeah, well, she hasn’t been around for a hot minute,” Taehyung reiterated, his eyes jumping between his two hyungs and waiting would take the bait and entertain him with a conversation, “There was a week when hyung couldn’t even piss without her knowing about it.”
“Why are you so interested in that?” Seokjin asked neutrally, leaned against a bookshelf on the wall opposite of the sofa, “All I hear from Jungkook is grumbling that Yoongi’s being stupid and it’s a safety concern.” I scoffed and looked back towards the two men.
“It’s hardly that,” I said calmly, “I don’t know what he’s expecting me to do, she’s still the police. She’s breaking the laws, yes, which is hilarious by the way, but I’m not petty enough to go through the whole ordeal of reporting her just for sniffing around our business a little.” Seokjin gave me a look, a look that was so specific to him and exactly what I’d been afraid of, that I just dodged his eyes for my own sanity. I hoped Taehyung would keep his mouth shut because Jin, even though he acted silly a lot of the times, had the clairvoyant gift of perfectly guessing what was going through our heads at any given moment. I quickly spun around and averted his gaze despite the fact that it made me look even more suspicious. I just had to keep him from saying anything while Taehyung was still here, because the younger man could not keep himself from telling all the hyungs and Jungkook everything and I had no intention of being discussed like that.
“When is Hobi getting here?” I decided to change the subject. There was a moment of silence, and I could almost see Jin sending Tae warning glances to not bring it up anymore even though I had my back turned to them.
“He should be here in a few,” Seokjin answered at last and brought over to my table the cup of tea he was making, “It’s supposed to be a calming mix. It might not do much, but it’s better than whiskey.” I thanked him politely and the room slipped into silence again as I sipped it slowly while Jin watched me like a hawk.
Suddenly there was a groan coming from the sofa and Taehyung was clambering to his feet. “I can’t fucking take it anymore, I’m so bored,” he whined and skipped over to my table, “hyungs, let’s do something.” He did the thing when he tried to be cute (he was cute, but I made it my personal goal to never tell him or he’ll take advantage of it), started pouting and grabbed my shoulder lightly.
“Go take a walk then, he needs a moment of rest,” Jin told him resolutely. He clearly decided not to fall for it today, even though he usually indulged the younger man. “After all, that’s why I’m here in the first place.”
Taehyung dropped the cutesy act and teasingly scowled at him before walking back over to the sofa to grab his phone. He just jokingly whined “You can be so mean, hyung” and was gone out the door before anyone could reply anything.
Once the door shut closed, Jin’s full attention suddenly was on me, and I grew a little nervous. He wouldn’t let anything slide and took his role as a doctor and a hyung very seriously, especially since he was the only one who was older than me and thus had a little bit of authority over my stubborn ass. I knew that Jin and Namjoon often consulted each other on how to approach me, Joon would oftentimes notice something and immediately snitch to Jin cause he knew Jin was the only one I allowed to care for me in such a capacity. It wasn’t unusual that Namjoon would raise a concern about my health, and I would tell him it’s nothing, only to have Jin coming to my house later that day, fully informed and prepared to deal with it (and me).
“How’s your migraines been?” Jin decided to play it safe at first, dancing around what he actually wanted to ask.
“Shit,” I replied dryly and squinted my eyes at him. He looked at me with worry and I sighed. “It’s been getting better,” I begrudgingly told him, and he gave me a look a parent gives their annoying child.
“You need to rest more,” Jin started, and I groaned. Once he got into full parent mode and began nagging, nothing could stop him. Poor Kookie had to listen to a 30-minute-long lecture about the risks of smoking every time he only looked in a direction of a cigarette pack, which then almost every time moved on to us for being bad influence on him. Especially Namjoon who was basically glued to a cigarette. I have over the years got out of the habit and now mostly smoked only occasionally, much to Jin’s content.
“I know, I know,” I stopped him and started imitating him, “I need to sleep more and eat better and drink less alcohol, work less and have other hobbies other than hanging out around bars.” Jin gave me an unimpressed look and pursed his lips.
“So sorry for caring for your measly pathetic life, Mr. Bossman,” he retorted sassily and went to sit down on the sofa. Then he pierced me with his eyes again and I knew there was no running from this.
“So what’s all this about?” he asked and I started speaking basically even before he finished. “Nothing.” Jin raised his eyebrow and relaxed into the couch. “Really now?”
“Yes, no matter what Kookie says, I know what I’m doing,” I said resolutely and gave Jin a look that made it clear we would not be speaking on this matter anymore. That softened the man a little and he relented.
“Okay then,” he said softly and smiled at me, “I trust you, Yoongi. I’m just trying to make sure you’re all safe. I would be a fool not to worry about the police.” While I accepted it was a slight dig at my approach to this, I also knew it was the closest I would get to Jin conceding and leaving this subject behind. I smiled at him with all the charm and charisma I could muster, and he just scoffed at me and busied himself with his own mug of tea.
Though I was also a little surprised, just as Taehyung, at the sudden absence of detective Lee. She was everywhere for a whole week and then just suddenly disappeared, but I was anticipating some sort of new plan was abrewing on her part. I supposed it wouldn’t take too long.
“What do you mean they’re messing with the docks?” I growled into the phone and stomped the cigarette butt into the ground. Namjoon next to me tensed up and also put down his cig only to immediately light up a new one. Hobi on the other side of the phone sighed and apologized.
“It seems that when we stormed them last month some little creative critters managed to slip by us,” the man explained over phone, “They’ve been sabotaging in the docks, stealing cargo and ganging up on some workers here and there, but we’ve got them now. Gonna deal with it tonight.” I scoffed, mildly annoyed but not wanting to take it out on him. Still, I couldn’t stop a little petty remark.
“Funny, I think I already heard that from you once,” I said gruffly and looked over the street to where Jungkook’s car just pulled up. Namjoon waved at me, gestured towards the young man and then set out to welcome him and bring him up to my office.
“I know, hyung, I’m sorry for messing up the first time,” Hobi said with genuine remorse, and I felt like I was inside a one huge déjà vu as he sounded the same as Jimin when he apologised for causing this whole ordeal in the first place. I sighed and softened my voice. After all, this was just a bad month, I knew their abilities.
“It’s fine, I’m just annoyed with how persistent they’re becoming,” I explained to him and also slowly moved towards the office entrance, “who would have thought that they would be this hard to deal with?” Hobi laughed and I heard some shuffling noises from his side, slight murmuring and then a bang of a door.
“It’s good we’ve dealt with them now; they were on a good way to becoming unbelievable menaces. Thank god they trusted themselves enough to mess with us this early while still unprepared for the retaliation, or I bet we’d spend weeks slowly eradicating them like annoying pests.” I laughed at Hobi’s words and nodded even though he couldn’t see me.
“Hubris has a funny way of catching up to you,” I mused quietly, Hobi only humming and then suddenly exclaiming loudly.
“Oh! That’s right!” he shouted out suddenly making me flinch a little. “Christ, Hobi,” I grumbled, “You’re going to make me embarrass myself. What’s up?” The man laughed a little and continued.
“Kookie’s on his way with some very interesting footage you’ll want to see,” the man said mysteriously with a happy lilt to his voice, “We found it when checking the security cameras for the little fuckers messing with our cargo.” I hummed, secretly smiling at the younger man’s antics while waiting for the damn elevator to come to the ground floor.
“He just got here, he’s with Namjoon upstairs. I’m on my way up too,” I told him and finally stepped into the elevator.
“Oh, I better go then,” the man laughed, “I have my plate full here anyway.” With that he hung up and I spent the rest of the ride up building anticipation on what Jungkook wanted to show me.
Upon walking into the office, I found Jungkook already showing something to a smirking Namjoon sitting in my chair. I regarded them both with slight suspicion and then wordlessly made my way to stand next to Jungkook. He immediately put the tablet away and I frowned. He was just about to open his mouth to explain to me, but I beat him to it.
“Hobi already told me you found something on the CCTV, so you can just show me,” I told him gruffly and motioned for him to put the tablet back on the table. He did. With a few quick swipes of his tatted fingers, he presented to me a video. I squinted my eyes at a it a little bit cause it was so dark and hard to see, automatically leaning forward towards the tablet.
It was a view from one of the side alleys by the warehouse we’ve been having troubles with. I was well acquainted with this camera, it was so nicely installed it became practically invisible to anyone who already didn’t know it was there, thus over the years it procured us some very useful evidence. For a moment there was no movement, just a dark alleyway in one of the seedier parts of this city, but then a figure appeared out of the shadows. They were dressed in all black and were slowly slinking by the wall with their eyes trained on something in front of them. We watched it for a few seconds and then the figure turned around and left.
I was just about to question Jungkook, when the man swiped and an enhanced picture of the figure filled the screen. I leaned towards it for a moment and then laughed. It was detective Lee. The picture was grainy and dark, it was quite hard to see, but that was unmistakenly the rookie cop sniffing around.
“The warehouses? What is she doing in the docks?” I speculated out loud.
“I don’t know but I don’t like her sniffing around there,” Jungkook said resolutely, “She’s probably looking for evidence.” I hummed thoughtfully.
“Well, she would have to break into the offices and decode the documents, which would be highly illegal and inadmissible in court, so I doubt she would do that,” I retorted and finally pushed Namjoon out of my chair to sit down, “She’s most likely looking for something specific.” Namjoon leaned over the table and gave us a mischievous smile.
“Or someone specific,” he pointed out. We both looked at him and pondered over it. “She could be just getting the hang of our locations,” Jungkook mused, “I think it’s more probable she just wants to be familiar with the places that we own. Or she thinks we’re just doing illegal shit out in the daylight like a bunch of idiots.” I laughed at that, but the first part of the statement was definitely possible.
“We have to wait for a little more,” I told them both, “She’ll reveal her cards soon.” Jungkook gave me a look but said nothing. Namjoon was just watching us with a smile. I knew the younger man was getting antsy because he cared about my safety and this detective was getting closer than the others. But that was also her weakness – to get more info she abandoned the law, so while yes, she was more determined to find out, but also she was making herself more unreliable to the force and in the eyes of the court. It was a slippery slope for her.
The situation would need some supervision, for sure, but in the end we had the upper hand cause we could report her anytime and cost her the position in the force. I hummed again and smirked.
“We’ll deal with this shortly, don’t worry,” I attempted to soothe the man, “Right now we have to focus on the fiasco with these dealers.” At the change of subject both of the men perked up.
“Do you know anything about how Hobi-hyung wants to go about this?” Namjoon asked Jungkook. They were both standing at the opposite sides of my table looking at each other. Kookie deliberated a little before saying: “He didn’t say much, just that they’re doing it tomorrow. He’s pretty pissed they managed to dodge him, so he’s most probably not gonna be very nice.” To that both me and Namjoon laughed.
“Good,” I said, “They’ve been pissing me off too. Who would have known they would be such pests.”
All three of us shared a look. “Fucking cheers to that,” Jungkook said, and we moved on.
The next day I had gotten a single text from Hobi that sounded very similar to what he texted me last time he went after them. The plan was to surprise them during lunch, storm them quick and blindside them. Ideally it would be over before they ever realised something had hit them. And as someone who had seen Hobi in action before, I knew he was absolutely capable of that.
I was just smoking outside with Namjoon, who was making fun of me that I had gotten back into my habit the whole time he was attempting to light my cigarette, when I got another text.
Hope, 14:49: done
I smiled to myself and patted Joon’s shoulder. He gave me a confused look that melted into satisfied realisation when I winked happily.
Me, 14:51: are you absolutely sure? no more surprises?
Hope, 14:52: no more surprises. i’ll be over in twenty
I pocketed my phone again and stubbed out the cig, lightly slapped Joon’s shoulder again and moved to go back inside. The man followed after me without a word or a question, only gave me a celebratory smile when getting off the elevator a floor beneath my office.
I waited gingerly for the man’s arrival, drinks ready for us and words of gratitude on my tongue. Faithful to his word, he got there in twenty minutes on the dot, bursting into my door with a wide smile, no doubt also happy he managed to teach a lesson to some pesky kids messing about with things way beyond their capabilities.
I clasped a hand on his shoulder and smiled at him.
“Don’t worry, I left no loose ends this time,” was the first thing he said, “though I wish I had more time for clean up, but the cops were called. They’re most probably already there.”
“As long as there’s nothing linking us to them, it’s okay,” I reassured him and pulled us both to the sofa. He shook his head at that.
I trusted Hobi, I knew he was damn good at his job. He was always so excellent at making everything that was causing me headaches disappear, and I felt endless gratitude to the man. For a moment we both just sat there in comfortable silence and sipped our drinks.
I took another swig of whiskey and winced. “Jin would kill me if he saw me right now,” I muttered and Hobi laughed. “It’s for celebration, I’m sure he would understand,” the man joked, knowing full well how obsessed the doctor was with making us all live healthily, even when we all knew it was a losing battle. I snickered again and relaxed into the sofa.
“If the cops are there right now, that means they’ll probably show up here by the evening or early tomorrow,” I mused out loud, already too familiar with their strategies. Hobi agreed with me, but I could see that he was thinking about something else.
“What’s up?” I asked gently. Hobi looked at me and hesitated a little. “I might have to go to Japan for a little bit,” he said eventually. I looked at him in surprise.
“Japan? Why?”
The man reached into his back pocket and pulled out a piece of folded paper. One of the corners was painted with a splatter of blood and the paper was all tired and frayed from whatever it went through.
“He was really trying to make sure I wouldn’t read this, so I made extra sure to get it,” Hobi explained, looking at me observantly and carefully continuing, “And for good reason. I’m sure you yourself recognise this.” He handed me the paper and I slowly unfolded it to not do any more damage to it.
I did recognise it and immediately felt a rush of cold rage hit my bloodstream. Before me, there was a formal invitation to meet with the Watanabe family, one of the smaller suppliers from Japan. They weren’t the ones that we were doing the most business with, but we had a mutual trust to keep out of each other’s way, occasionally help each other out and otherwise not cross each other’s paths.
Whether they knew what these little fucks were planning or not, it seems that a connection between them was established. And as such, I couldn’t let it slide. Especially since the dead rat wanted to keep it secret so bad. There must have been something going on.
For the Watanabes it would be beneficial to try and get us out of the way, since we were blocking their way to most of Seoul, but I couldn’t believe they were this fucking stupid.
“That explains a lot,” I said, reverting back to my business self, “and here I was, thinking we were cordial with each other.” Hobi hummed. I looked at him and let him feel the full force of my anger with the behaviour of our supposed allies.
“Let them know just how disappointed I am with them for me, please,” I told him, voice full of ice. This wasn’t a playground, we weren’t kids messing about in the sandbox. We had to act quickly, before someone got the idea that they could cross our path.
The conversation was a little stunted after that, both of us thinking about the implications of an alliance between these two; so once Hobi finished his drink, he moved to leave, finally deciding it’s time to get back to his boys and make sure everything’s going off without a hitch now. He turned around, mouth opening to tell me one last thing, when he opened the door and promptly bumped into someone. I stood up from the chair, worried for a moment, only to grin wide when I realised who it was.
Hobi had managed to catch the nosy detective before she fell, and I had the best view in the house for when she looked up and realised who was it that she slammed into at my office. As every time, her face was an open book there for everyone to read and I saw it go from apologetic to absolute mortification to some sort of astounded glee. I watched her like a hawk while she stared at Hobi and the wheels in my brain were turning full speed. Huh, could it be?
Even when she snapped out of it and Hobi started to tease her, her eyes remained glued to the man with clarity and determination. If I was a jealous man, I may have even gotten a little angry at the display of open interest, I thought to myself jokingly while I watched them amused. So this was her goal, huh? She was after Hoseok. It did make sense, he would be someone the police found interesting, but he also had considerable experience at dodging them.
Once Hobi left and I could see her gearing up to bullshit me to the max, clearly totally out of her depth here, I decided to test my theory a little bit. But I would need help with that. I gave her a little bait and only waited for her to bite. She did. She didn’t even ask how I knew about what was happening in the docks, just started scrambling to explain herself somehow. I pulled out my phone again and texted the one man I knew could accomplish this.
Me, 16:29: how fast can you get here? need a distractor asap
TaeTae, 16:29: be there in 15 hyung <3
I chuckled a little at his fast reply, but quickly got up to move towards the bar. I had to distract her well and leave her distracted enough to slip a little bug on her. I weaved my web, pulled her in different directions, and I lied.
“We had nothing to do with it,” I said, though I had ordered the strike as retribution. But some things she wasn’t prepared to hear upfront, with some honesty I would have to wait until she was too deep to be appalled by the reality.
Taehyung burst into the room just as he always did, in the perfect way to steal all the attention. Her head snapped to the door with panic, and I seized my opportunity. I moved behind my table and fished around in the first drawer for the small device. I checked on Taehyung who was doing his best magician act, though by definition he would be more of my beautiful young assistant tasked with distracting the crowd while I faked the magic trick. It took only a second for my skilled fingers to slip the tracker beneath her phone case and by the moment she looked at me in horror at Taehyung’s behaviour, I was already sitting on the side of the guest chair satisfied with myself and watching the man work.
I couldn’t help the pleased hum when she grabbed her phone and flustered stumbled out of the door.
The moment the door closed behind her Tae looked at me curiously. “What was that about?” he asked full of mischievous keenness. I shrugged and smiled at him mysteriously. “Just trying to prove a theory of mine,” I uttered nonchalantly and thoroughly enjoyed the eager interest of the younger man.
“That was a tracker, wasn’t it?” he asked again, ever so observant. I gave him another grin. His curious eyes never missed anything, they always flitted around wherever he was, taking in people’s actions and expressions, that’s why he was my favourite spy. People didn’t take him much seriously, they didn’t see him as threat and he knew how to take advantage of it perfectly and bring every little dirty secret right to me.
“Hmmm, we’ll speed up the process a little bit and Kookie will hopefully relax now,” I told him. He hummed too and got up to get himself another drink.
“Guess we’ll see.”
Maybe we were having a little too much fun pretending like we didn’t know she was tailing us. How do you school your face while talking when you know that a cop is sitting 10 metres away from you? Though we did agree that we like the upgraded look with the motorcycle, so I guess that’s what she was up to the whole time we didn’t see her following us.
It would be a little better had Hoseok been in the country, but we had to entertain ourselves while he dealt with the traitors. I hadn’t heard from him really for around two or three days, which surprisingly was a good thing. It meant he was too busy solving problems to reply. In the end Jin decided to go with him and I had absolute confidence that they would deal with it no matter what that entailed.
I heard Jungkook lightly complain that she’d gotten craftier and how he often had to drive around to lose her to be able to go about his day peacefully. She did go after Namjoon for a little bit and then promptly gave up, which didn’t surprise me as he only spent time home or in the office, she did try to follow Jungkook, but he never gave her a chance. Tae and Jimin didn’t seem to be her targets in the slightest, much to Taehyung’s displeasure, who grumbled about how he’s also interesting. So she mostly stuck with me. But I was patiently waiting for Hobi to return and see.
The moment Hoseok and Jin stepped foot into the country, I warned him to not show up around for a while. He was very confused, but when I said it’s related to the police, he obliged happily, though we had to meet up to discuss his trip to Japan and its conclusion. One day when her little red dot didn’t move from the station, I called him over.
I had to go to the Magic Shop, which was one of the newer clubs Tae was trying to transform into a popular spot, and Jimin came over too. He was still trying to “sweeten my rage”, in his words, which I no longer felt but didn’t tell him. I’d never admit it, but I quite liked the way he was trying to be so damn cute and play up how much he loves me, though I was pretty sure he knew and that’s why he hasn’t stopped yet. I was just laughing at the two younger men’s antics when Jungkook’s car pulled over to the club and the two newcomers jumped out.
“Hyung!” Jimin shouted out, “You’re finally back!” Hobi laughed and threw himself at the blond, tackling him into an aggressive hug, both of them giggling. Tae couldn’t stay still and joined them, with me and Jungkook watching them fondly with smiles on our faces.
“Okay, okay!” I talked over the commotion and pulled them apart, “Unfortunately I have to steal him away for a bit, you can have him later.” The youngsters pouted at me, but it was all in jokes. But when I looked over at Hobi, he had a guilty expression on his face. I sighed a little and smiled at him.
“Sorry hyung, I actually have to go check on the warehouses in Songhyeon-dong, the boys have been asking for me,” he explained and gave an apologetic smile, “You can come too, though. If you have time.” I pursed my lips and thought about it, but I already knew I couldn’t make it.
“It’s across the whole city, unfortunately it’s not convenient for me today,” I told him. We needed to debrief properly; it would be best if Jin was present too, but the man was hard to come by during the weekdays due to his clinic. Every rich person in whole of Seoul wanted him to attend to them and he usually ran from patient to patient, while Hobi was the number one contact for those who worked in or around the warehouses and thus found himself driving around Seoul just solving shit that went wrong. If he couldn’t wait here to have a conversation, it must have been pretty serious there. He was looking at me stressed, most probably trying to think of a way to make it work for everyone, but I patted his shoulder and smiled reassuringly.
“It’s okay, Hobi,” I assured him, “I’ll visit you tomorrow or the day after. I’ll bring Jin too.” He returned my smile and moved back to Jungkook’s car.
“Wait, Hobi-hyung!” Jimin shouted out again, “I drove here with the silver Porsche, you can take it cause Tae’s gonna drive me back.” The blond-haired man fished around in the pockets for a moment and then threw something small and black towards Hoseok, who caught it without problem with a cheeky wink and a smile.
He was gone in a minute, and I soon followed with Jungkook. In the end Jimin took my car and I asked Kookie to drive me to the office, since he was going to stay there with me and Joon anyway. I kept thinking back to the Japan issue, wondering what the boys found out and what the Watanabes tried to claim. And whether we should prepare to burn some bridges.
The next day, though, started in a somewhat peculiar manner. When I came out in the morning and got into the car, Jungkook was sitting next to Soobin with a sombre expression. I immediately straightened and prepared to hear whatever it was that went wrong in those few short hours I was gone.
“I messed up hyung,” he said sheepishly and handed over his phone. The little tracking red dot wasn’t in its usual spot, by my house or by one of the clubs, not even by the office or the station. It was in Songhyeon-dong. Right across from our warehouses. I laughed and Jungkook looked at me nervously.
“Where’s Hoseok right now?” I asked immediately and the younger man snapped into attention.
“He’s in there right now, got in about 7 o’clock, was talking about some papers that have been waiting for him to approve,” Kookie answered, mind back on business and unpleasant feelings left behind to focus on this fully. I grinned at the man wildly. “Perfect.”
I swiftly pulled out my phone and started writing a simple and quick message.
Me, 8:15: stay in the warehouse, don’t walk out at all
Hope, 8:17: what do you mean hyung? are we in danger?
Me, 8:17: no, don’t worry. our little spy is on you and i’m trying to prove something
“Do you want to go to Dynamite today, or are we expected at the hotel?” Soobin’s voice pulled me away from my phone, back to a nervous Jungkook sitting next to the unsure bodyguard. “The hotel, thank you Soobin,” I answered politely with a mild smile and redirected my attention back to Jungkook.
“Don’t worry Kookie, I’m not mad,” I said with a smile, “This is actually exactly what I wanted, just hoped that I would have more time and control over when she found him. Guess she must have been on us yesterday.” The young man stiffened and looked back to his phone.
“Do you think she’s aware of the tracker? Left it at the station purposely to mess with us?” he asked all business-like, probably already trying to come up with a new plan. “It’s possible,” I hummed, “It’s time to find out.”
Silence took over the car as we made our way through the city. I smiled to myself. Even though it happened a little faster than I was planning, but I was glad she was still going in the direction I had predicted. I look away for a moment and you leave for one of my friends, huh? You definitely work fast.
I laughed again, earning a strange look from the two younger men, but only gave them a mysterious wink. We might be able to deal with this shortly, if everything goes well. The key was to find out what the goal was, then I could control what she found and make sure she’d stay away from what we needed to hide.
“Let’s give her a few days,” I told them and gave them another grin.
Me, 8:25: how would you feel about going to the warehouse every day and just staying there?
Hope, 8:26: ???
Four days later I sat into my car and instructed Soobin to drive to the warehouse with a shit-eating grin. Jungkook had been keeping me updated on her movements and she spent her days either at the station or staking out in the building across the premises.
Hobi, as promised, had been going to the warehouse and just sitting on his ass there, thoroughly complaining through his phone the whole time. I had been trying to calm him down and keep him there, while Joon and Kookie took it upon themselves to tease him all the time with pics and cheeky texts about eating in restaurants and hanging out in clubs together, so he was slowly losing his patience with my plan. I had to move forward quickly for the benefit of us all, even though I did find it awfully funny.
Reaching our destination, I took the time to walk around very self-assuredly for a moment knowing she was watching this angle. When I tired of putting on a show of how free and relaxed I was this day, I finally made my way inside. Through the door you entered straight to the short hall which led to our office, so it was a relatively short and quiet trip.
Hoseok and Jungkook were already sitting inside, Hobi behind the table and the maknae occupying an armchair sitting a little more towards a corner to the left of the door. With the sound of the door opening, their heads snapped towards me and as soon as they saw my smug smirk, Hoseok groaned loudly.
“God, please tell me this is over!” he whined and dramatically draped himself over the surface of the table, “I can’t take another day of this! I’m going to fucking lose my mind here!” Jungkook chuckled at him and retorted with a slight smirk: “You should have treated this as a holiday or something. Watched Netlix and all that stuff.” To that Hobi screamed out loud and grabbed something on his table to throw at the now laughing Kookie. “Yah! You think I have time to burn? I’ve got shit to do!”
I snickered at them and moved inside, Soobin following me in. I gestured at Jungkook. “Did you bring the cup as I asked?” The man nodded at me. I smiled, as relaxed as I haven’t been in a long time, and sat down on a chair by the table. Soobin remained standing by the door so I gestured at him to also sit somewhere, as this would take a while.
“So what’s next in your amazing and genius plan that involves the literal torture of your beloved dongsaeng?” He asked, suddenly pretending to be all business-like and serious, while Jungkook still occasionally giggled in his spot to our left.
“Now we talk for a bit, draw it out a little,” I said smirking meanly, “Then we send in Soobin and wait what he brings back.”
“It’s pretty cold outside, hope she’s dressed for the occasion,” Hobi noted cheekily and relaxed into his chair. I hummed and schooled my expression. I did have to bring up Japan, we haven’t had a chance to talk about it properly yet and I couldn’t visit him sooner cause we were planning what to do about our little spy.
“I don’t think she knows about the tracker,” Jungkook mused out loud, “she keeps bringing it. I don’t think it’s a statement like ‘look where I am’, it wouldn’t make sense to let us know.” Hobi nodded, humming in agreement, and they carried on for a moment, the conversation heading to the clubs as Hoseok asked about how it went while he was gone. I let them speak for a little while, just enjoying the company, until their chattering died off and they both looked at me questioningly.
“We have to talk about Japan,” I said simply, not feeling the need to beat around the bush. Hoseok immediately sobered up and straightened in his chair, while Jungkook looked on curiously, no doubt also dying to know the situation in which we found ourselves in.
“Well, they claimed innocence,” the dark-haired man said sombrely, “I’ve heard bullshit enough time in my life to smell it a mile away, but there wasn’t anything I could really pin on them. I checked the dates of their stay, and it was relatively recently, there wasn’t much correspondence between them, that I found. And we did thrash the dealers’ hiding spots. They must have gotten rid of it. But the head of the Watanabe family is such a slimy motherfucker that I don’t believe a word he said. They surely must have been planning something together.” He shrugged and sat back. “I’m afraid right now we can’t do much about it unless we want to seem like vicious usurpers.” Jungkook leaned forward and looked at us thoughtfully.
“Japan is outside of our turf, if we did something rash without substantial evidence, we could risk losing the support of the Satos,” he contemplated out loud, “God knows what’s going on between them right now.” I hummed and nodded, smiling at the man satisfied. He really did grow up, god. Time flies so fast.
“There seem to be two main issues right now,” I surmised solemnly, “First, the Watanabes are small and cowardly. The reason why they’re where they are is because they just suck up to others and hug their thighs to drain all the benefits from them. If they stirred up trouble with someone, they would no doubt end up eradicated before sundown.” The men looked at me with similar serious expressions. I took a moment to get myself a glass of water and continued talking standing up by the office desk.
“So, what gave them the confidence to get involved with an effort against us?” I mused thoughtfully, “There is a chance that they couldn’t have known that their new friends would immediately go and cross us and get themselves all killed, but I trust Hobi’s instinct. The fucking clown that leads the family now is a sleazy bastard, one with an ego that doesn’t match his wit nor his guts. He loves to gloat and provoke, but only when he knows someone stronger’s got his back.” Hobi nodded. He knew the man well since he had the displeasure of meeting him a few times when we were in Japan and had to attend a few of the same events as he did.
“If he knew he was at risk, he would have met me already grovelling,” Hoseok muttered with distaste, his immense disdain towards the man showing through, “that’s the kind of a pathetic vermin he is.” I agreed with him and carried on.
“So that means he probably feels comfortable timidly opposing us, cause there’s someone that’s got his back,” I concluded, “Someone who’s probably on our side of the puddle, someone who probably hooked him up with the rats we just got rid of. They probably weren’t expecting them to go against us immediately and die, but they don’t feel intimidated by the fact that we suspect something.”
The room sunk into silence as we all pondered about it. I could be looking too much into it, but in this world one never knew. You couldn’t survive here by assuming everyone’s best intentions. Quite the opposite. The little shits feeling confident enough to swindle us, them trying to desperately hide the invitation before they lose the chance to, the Watanabe’s approach to a meeting with Hobi. It wasn’t much to go off of, but it was suspicious enough to keep track of and keep in mind. If there potentially was a beginning of a plot against us, we had to stay alert and monitor the situation before it spun out of control.
“The confidence means their alliance is already pretty sure, then,” Jungkook broke the silence and took turns looking at us both. I gave him a single jerky nod in return. “Probably. Who knows.”
“What’s the second issue?” Hobi suddenly asked. Kookie looked at me questioningly and his face suddenly looked so much younger with his eyes wide, it almost shocked me speechless.
“The Japanese families,” I shook off my surprise and continued, “If we do decide to make take some precautions, we need to properly communicate so with the Satos and get their support. They need to be in full agreement with whatever we choose to do with the Watanabe clan.” Hobi scoffed and turned to me.
“That shouldn’t be too hard. They’re not that influential and going against us means they’re going against the Satos too.”
“Still,” I repeated, “We need to test their alliance to us too.” A realisation hit Jungkook’s face and he nodded enthusiastically. That made me laugh a little at his earnestness. Hobi also smiled, but it was still strained.
“Let’s bide our time for now,” my voice carried through the office resolutely, “Lay low, pretend we’re over this issue and gather our wits. And prepare for potentially dealing with this.”
We nodded at each other. Even if years have passed since our youth and the fire and passion and determination that comes with it, we were still prepared to fight for what was rightfully ours. We climbed our way here through hell and there’s no way we’d let some snotty little brats try to take everything away from us.
“I’ll keep my eyes and ears out,” Kookie stated, phone in hand ready, “They’re bound to come across something juicy.” Hobi murmured his approval and turned his attention back to me.
“Today we should deal with the other issue at hand, or I am actually going to go insane between these four walls,” he complained whinily and I laughed at him. I moved towards the little kitchenette in the right corner from the door and started preparing some coffee. I made a cup for all present and then one extra into the cup Kookie brought with him, which I promptly handed to Soobin.
“My boys scoped it out and she seems to have her hideout on the sixth floor to the left of the staircase,” Hobi instructed the young man, who patiently waited on me to send him off.
“Tell her something that will piss her off,” I said only, grinning wildly. The blond man smirked at me and disappeared out of the room swiftly and silently.
“Now we wait,” I told the room, sitting gingerly back into the chair with my fresh cup of coffee, playing with the spoon like a spoiled little kid waiting for his birthday present. We all stayed silent, too much on our minds to keep mindless convo. Kookie was typing furiously on his phone, a slight scowl sometimes tugging at his features, while Hobi relaxed into the chair and serenely looked off into the distance. I tried to keep the self-satisfied smirk on my face while my mind slipped to more serious issues.
I couldn’t help but be worried about the current situation. Their potential ties to a stronger gang, or maybe even a family, would explain the surprising difficulty with which they went down. I knew I stepped on many toes when I stole half the fucking Seoul right from under their noses, and even more when I proved impossible to dethrone. It didn’t surprise me at all to uncover a supposed scheme like this. Truly, this didn’t even have to necessarily be aimed against me and my gang, but the boys fucked up by involving us in their business. But no matter what, we would emerge victorious from this, that I had no doubt about. Once someone crossed a line, we would make an example of them and teach a lesson to whoever it was that wanted to mess with us.
Over the years in this “business”, I had learnt a lot. One of the things was: what couldn’t be solved with threats, would be solved with blood. And it never failed me before. I looked at Hobi and Kookie again and smiled. We had each other’s backs and I trusted their abilities more than I trusted myself. The truth was that we were more a family than many around us that were actually blood related. That was the second reason of our success.
Soobin returned within 15 minutes, of which he probably spent most time going up and down the stairs. He walked back into the office slightly breathless and a little red, so I gestured for the single cup of coffee left on the mini kitchen counter. He walked over and took a tentative sip, probably finding it the perfect temperature since it’s been waiting for him here and slowly cooling down.
We all found ourselves hanging onto him with our eyes, some excitement coursing through the room at what he was about to divulge to us. Kookie broke first.
“How did she react to you?” he asked eagerly, waiting to confirm his theory about the tracker.
“She was shocked and surprised, and frankly pissed off,” Soobin answered immediately, his deep voice having a calming effect on us, “She didn’t seem to understand how you were able to find her.”
Jungkook exclaimed happily. “Perfect, that means she doesn’t know about the tracker,” he said satisfied. I was about to destroy his whole joy though, so I let him bask in it a little before speaking.
“We’re gonna mess with her a little, make it obvious,” I told the room and Kookie immediately groaned. “Hyung, having her tracked without her knowledge is the safest way to let her be but still have control over the situation. Why would you want to give that up?” I winked at him and pursed my lips teasingly.
“To provoke her. Rile her up, frustrate her, push her to her limits,” I explained, eyes flitting between the three men, “She’ll reveal herself then.” Kookie hummed in understanding, but Hobi squinted his eyes at me somewhat suspicious. I quickly averted his eyes and focused back onto Soobin.
“What else did she say?” I asked him. The man immediately snapped to attention at me addressing him and answered. “That you’re annoying and she hates you.” His voice was neutral, but I could detect some undertones of amusement. I agreed it must have been an amusing sight.
I laughed lightly and finished my coffee in one gulp. The game was on.
Now that Hoseok was free of his prison, he went back to flitting between the docks and ships like a mother bird trying to take care of all of her young. Jin was similarly busy by his practice, so he also missed out on all of the fun. Namjoon kept saying he was above messing with the police, even though I caught him sneaking smirks and grins every now and then, and Kookie was just as disapproving as ever of my tactics. Jimin tried to stay neutral as he hadn’t met her yet, but thoroughly enjoyed our shenanigans.
That left me and Tae on the shit-stirrer team, and we did milk it for as long as we could. Just the ultimate annoyances, hoping to send her into a complete rage over this. She still had the tracker regularly on her, so we were forced to assume she was none the wiser, but the longer it dragged on the more suspicious I was becoming.
Once she started showing up to the office regularly, cheshire grin firmly plastered on her face, tracker still firmly attached to her, I pretty much guessed she must have known. Suddenly I was spending my afternoons making her tea and watching her leisurely stroll about my office, studying every inch of it and grinning from ear to ear. I waited patiently for her next move, and admittedly, I found myself quite excited with this game we were playing with each other. She was a fast learner and had a quick wit, and I did appreciate her readiness to throw all laws aside to try to stick it to a guy that mildly annoyed her once. The anticipation was steadily rising the longer we just danced around and pretended we both knew nothing.
I did start to slip. I watched her move about less, focused more on work. I would always suddenly shake myself out of the work-induced haze to find her still sitting at the sofa curiously eying everything in the office like a little kid first time in an amusement park. But while we were in this strange stale-mate, I didn’t dare refuse her visits. I was truly curious, dying to know her next move, especially since she suddenly became such a showman.
I didn’t immediately realise what was happening when she suddenly stopped showing up. One day she was sitting there, smirking up a storm, and the next there was no trace of her. I found myself walking around my office, inspecting the objects at display and the decorations, trying to catch anything different. I even allowed Jungkook to thoroughly comb through the room to make sure there weren’t any planted bugs or things in the same vein, but the space was clean.
We kept checking on the tracker app, but it became quite obvious immediately she had gotten rid of it, as it was moving in areas that she never went to. So she did know. And she did do something.
It wasn’t until two days later, when Jungkook stormed my house and decided to comb through my clothes with a device detector; and found a corner of my coat beeping curiously. I had to stop him from tearing into it in his haste to find out what she planted on me, and instead took it upon myself to inspect the piece of clothing. I managed to find a small tear and smirked at her craftsmanship. I fished the little gadget out and handed it over to the younger man.
Jin and Hobi were sitting on the couch watching this whole ordeal go down with curious, slightly amused and mildly alarmed faces, but I wasn’t too worried about it. Jungkook was grumbling something next to me, but I paid him no mind. My fingers felt something else slipped into the coat and I was trying to get a hold of it. By its thinness and elusiveness, it must have been a piece of paper.
“It’s a tracker, similar to what we planted on her,” I heard him explaining it to the other men present, but suddenly exclaimed in victory, startling the three men, as I finally managed to pull the mysterious note out. I took a single look at it and burst out laughing.
They snapped their eyes to me and Jungkook immediately rushed to my side as if prepared to defend my life against a piece of paper. I lifted my gaze to look at their confused faces and flipped the paper around for them to see.
fuck you min yoongi :p
Only Hobi seemed to be as amused by it as I was, Jungkook deliberating something silently and Jin watching us all like a hawk, his sharp eyes taking in the interaction with burning interest.
Once I had calmed down and sent Kookie off to the office to get Joon and figure out what to do about the little device, I found myself sitting between the two other oldest of the group, amusement slowly slipping into nervosity. I knew them well enough, I could see the cogs turning in their heads, I could feel they were on the doorstep of a discovery, and I wouldn’t like the conversation that would follow, but I truly didn’t expect Jin to just jump into it head first.
I had leaned towards the table to grab one of the snacks Jin had graciously prepared for us, when he cleared his throat.
“Kookie had been talking to me a lot about how this whole situation is unfolding. Hobi too,” Jin said, seemingly just holding mindless conversation, but I still tensed up. I turned to look at him.
“Yeah?” I turned to the other side to look at Hobi, who avoided my eyes.
“Yeah,” Jin reiterated, his voice gravelly, “So can you fucking explain to me why have you been testing this cop like you did the boys before they joined?”

Overworked Mascots (Mickey Mouse x Bugs Bunny)
I do not own any of these characters that appear here. They all belong to their respective studios. Enjoy!
This is inspired by the lovely art of one @thesunpapaya (sorry if you don't like being tagged, I remembered you saying you'd read fics from this ship so I figured it'd be safe to tag you). Particularly this piece and these pieces.
Get ready
Eat, Rehearse, Film, Press Conference, Film, Eat, Sleep.
Mickey was so tired.
Eat, Rehearse, Film, Press Conference, Film, Eat, Sleep
Yet tired didn't feel like the right word.
Go to this gala, go to that event, film some more, sleep.
But a weight unlike any other pulled him down.
Go out for lunch date with Minnie for the press. Film. Go to Dinner date with Minnie. Don't let people know something is wrong. Sleep. But not with her, to maintain your image. For the children, Mickey.
"Mickey Mouse! Is it true you and Minnie are broken up?! Any words regarding the rumors of Minnie Mouse's affair with her costar Daisy Duck?!"
"Haha! I don't know where this is all coming from. Minnie and Daisy are just swell pals. And me and Min are as right as rain. Happier than ever" Not.
Eat, Rehearse, Film, Meetings, Film, Eat, Sleep.
He took a long puff from the cigar between his finger tips, letting the smoke choke him before releasing it with a slow blow. He licked his lips to rid the dryness he felt on them.
Remember you're Mickey Mouse.
There wasn't a day in his life where he didn't forget it. Everyone made sure to remind him.
Remember we own you.
There wasn't a day in his life where he didn't wish he was elsewhere.
Keep up appearances. Stick to the script.
Don't ruin the magic, Mickey.
The magic for him had been ruined a long time ago.
"Are they gone?", Mickey asked tiredly. His ears could still make out the yelling outside but it got fainter and fainter.
The human in the room with him squeaked as he acknowledged him. A rather mousey (hehe) young man Mickey had taken a liking to and hired to be his P.A. The practical boy was efficient and quick, much more so than his previous personal assistant. Sure, the young man had to be quickly trained in the ins and outs of toons but he caught on quick, something Mickey liked. And the best part:
The boy took Mickey's secrets and kept it like they were his very own. Mickey appreciated that.
The young man peeked out and addressed one of the guards outside. There was some talk Mickey wasn't in the mood to listen into before his assistant came back in.
"They got rid of most of the paparazzi. There might still be some stragglers but most of them will be outside of the building. Security is keeping an eye on all entrances. Only toons, residents and employees are allowed into the building and onto this floor", his assistant informed him.
Mickey nodded," Thank you, Connor. You're an angel", he said with a small smile.
Connor beamed," It's a pleasure, Mr Mouse", he said happily before his eyes went down to the empty scotch glass on the table next to Mickey," Would you like a refill?".
"Please", Mickey said holding up the glass for Connor to take," Dad knows I need it before Iger comes to scream at me again for my sloppy performance".
"The performance wasn't that bad-"
"I forgot several lines and had to ad-lib my way to a line I do remember. I even hesitated a few times"
"Actors improvise all the time!"
"Not. Disney toon actors", Mickey grumbled," We have to stick to the script. Stay within the line. Conform. Or else", he said. It was almost like a mantra at this point, something that had to be ingrained into Mickey's head as if he had been forced to write it on a chalk board 100 000 times.
Don't ruin the magic, Mickey.
Connor sighed," Bullshit, its all bullshit", he mumbled as he flipped through Mickey's schedule.
It truly was. And it was the reality of Mickey's life.
"So what's next on today's agenda?", Mickey asked, sitting up a little and trying (and failing quite frankly) to appear his normal, happy self (if his normal happy self had a cigar in one hand and a glass of scotch on the other).
"You're expected back at Disneyland for the nighttime parade. Photos will be taken. Iger asks you be a little bit more affectionate with Minnie this time as visitors noted you were a little distant your last appearance. Again, nothing spicy. You made a lot of parents uncomfortable with that kiss you pulled a few months ago, the memory is still fresh", Connor said, walking up and down as he gave Mickey the run down on what needed to happen.
"Be affectionate but don't be affectionate. Got it", Mickey said as he downed his glass of scotch in one go.
"Still so freaky you can just... swallow all that and not even get the least bit tipsy", Connor said looking mildly intrigued.
"Eh, toons have made stronger stuff in the past and lived", Mickey said as he set the glass down," Anything else?"
"That's about it. You're free for the time being, like 3-ish hours", Connor said," If you'd like, I can have an impromptu meal arranged for you and Mrs Mouse in a public place for the time being. Mr Iger requests you spend more time together".
Mickey held up a hand and shook his head," No, no. I'd... I'd rather not meet with Minnie today. She's got her own stress to deal with", he said.
"Of course, Mr Mouse"
Mickey sighed. The end of his cigar came and he put the last butt of it out before grabbing another. If there was one thing Mickey had in common with his dad, it was the awful smoking habits. But smoking took his mind off things. Things that would otherwise stress him out.
Like the situation between him and Minnie. The less he thought about the situation between him and Minnie, the better his mood will be.
"Connor, be a dear. Fill up, would you?", Mickey asked politely and his PA followed his request with little complaint.
"At least, now you'll get a tiny break from it all", Connor piped up. The young human paused as something in his ear piece went off," Excuse me, sir. There's something I need to check on".
Mickey waved him off and continued his smoking and drinking, deep in thought with a foul expression on his face. He leaned back into his chair and took a long drag of his cigar, wondering how his life had come to this.
He was meant to be perfect. Practically in every way. The Ideal Toon. The one all Disney toons are encouraged to follow. The board spent many, many years, even dating back to when his Dad was still alive, crafting this image of his. This child (or rather: stern parent) friendly image that was more shallow than a dried up puddle in the summer. It had worked for the most part. Most folks assumed Mickey was devoid of personality, a puppet of Disney. Just The Mascot.
"I've been scrubbed clean, now left in pain with my skin so raw from this abuse."
This scandal was very close to that image cracking. Extremely close. So close in fact, he had gotten screamed at by several people. Including Bob Iger, who he knows is ready to tear into him again in person eventually once the paparazzi cleared somewhat. Adding in his disaster of a performance during a live show, Mickey would bet Iger would be screaming at him for a straight hour.
Mickey would let him. Because Mickey was so tired. Too tired to fight.
He heard the door of his study open and Connor stepped back inside again.
"Sir- Mr. Mouse?"
"What is it, Connor? I'd rather be alone for a moment-"
"You have a visitor, Mr Mouse…", Connor said.
Mickey's eyes met the doorway and he finds what he thought to be the most beautiful toon in all the Animation Industries standing there, gazing at him with an almost demure smile. Mickey's tired eyes met theirs and it seemed like he was in a trance. His face grew warm at the sight of the white, figure hugging dressed that showed off an hourglass figure. His eyes wandered to the ruby red lips and he swallowed the lump in his throat. On his finger, his wedding ring burned him.
"I sincerely hope I'm not intruding, Mr Mouse", the toon said demurely.
It took all of Mickey's acting skill to school his face and make sure he didn't "wolf out" for lack of better words in front of his personal assistant who was still there watching.
"Of course not", Mickey said in faux calmness, "Do come in, ma'am. Connor, can you leave us for a moment?".
Connor did as he was told, but not without his eyes flickering between Mickey and the toon with the same energy as a nosy neighbour finding out something scandalous.
Mickey swore his personal assistant will be the death of him…
…If this gorgeous piece of art before him didn't kill him first.
The toon in question sauntered towards him, hips swaying in ways that were borderline provocative (Mickey could hear the Censor monkeys at Disney screaming). They didn't immediately reach him however, instead taking a turn to take from the nearby bourbon and pour themselves a pint.
Mickey stared, trying to find his voice under the collection of saliva no doubt building up in his mouth. Eventually, he found it.
"Were you waiting long?", he asked quietly, not wanting to break the intense air that surrounded them. He felt warmer than usual.
An airy chuckle fluttered through the atmosphere of Mickey's study.
"Oh, don't you worry too much about that, honey. I kept my li'l head occupied just fine", the toon said. Their accent was clearly forced in a toon way, accurate but still clear it wasn't their natural voice. They smiled at him a beautiful buck-toothed smile.
"You didn't have trouble getting in?", Mickey asked.
"Cute fella got me in through the side door"
Mickey sighed, leaning back into his seat again with closed eyes. He felt the emotional exhaustion of the day catch up with him and he tried to relax. His ears perked up hearing footsteps, assuming the toon was about to take a seat nearby. Only to feel the weight of a body come sit on his lap. His eyes flew open.
Oh gosh
"Hope you don't mind if I take a seat here. You looked very comfortable", the toon cooed, buck teeth disappearing as their mouth made a perfect 'o' shape.
Mickey's heart raced and was about ready to run out of his chest. His body grew hotter.
He felt the white fur shawl pull over him and bring him closer. As he got closer, he could the sweet, fruity perfume his cigar smoke had been hiding. A gloved hand came to caress his cheek with uncharacteristic tenderness.
" You look tired, doc"
Mickey's breath hitched as he felt furry lips brush against his cheek. Whiskers tickled him.
"Bugs…", he whined.
"Mickey", the bunny in question chuckled as he teased the mouse he had trapped under him.
Mickey swallowed the building drool his mouth had accumulated.
"I have somewhere to be in 3 hours", Mickey warned as Bugs leaned into him.
"Is that so?", by that tone, Mickey could tell Bugs was not taking that warning seriously," What if you were just a wee, tad bit… late?", he said, tugging on the Mouse's tie.
For a moment, Mickey entertained the idea.
"As much as I want to… I'm in hot water enough as is today", Mickey murmured. He put his dead cigar in the ashtray.
"Should I leave then?", Bugs asked, moving to get up, but stopped when he felt Mickey's arms snake around him and keep him in place.
"Stay", it was as much a demand as it was a plead.
Bugs grinned and made himself comfortable again. As he did that, Mickey hid his face in Bugs' neck, inhaling that sweet perfume.
"This perfume… with this dress. Are you trying to kill me", Mickey whined, causing Bugs to snicker.
"Depends. Do I get a portion of your money in the will?", Bugs asked cheekily.
"No"
"Aw", Bugs pouted as he took his glass of bourbon and had a sip," And here I was hoping I was going to get something special".
"The only special thing you're gonna get if Disney finds out you're in my will is an investigation", Mickey grumbled as he tugged Bugs closer.
"Ah yes. I'm sure Mr. Iger would be very amused by those pictures you have of me", Bugs teased.
Mickey groaned," Ugh, don't bring him up…", if he could, he'd hide in Bugs' neck for the rest of eternity.
Mickey couldn't see it, but Bugs' face grew the slightest bit soft and sympathetic.
"Rougher day today?", Bugs probed.
"Yeah…", Mickey muttered.
Bugs hummed and shifted his position to comfortably lay against Mickey. This did involve Mickey moving his head away from Bugs' neck so Bugs could sink a little lower. Their faces came quite close together as a result.
Mickey gazed at Bugs and moved his hand to cup the furry cheek of his rabbit lover, stroking the soft white fur of his muzzle. He could feel Bugs stiffen for a moment under his touch before relaxing.
"Why’d you get all dolled up today?", Mickey asked.
"Can't a rabbit try to look pretty once in a while", Bugs wrly replied.
"You always look pretty. You're the prettiest toon I know", Mickey said earnestly.
Mickey could tell for the tiniest millisecond, Bugs was stumped. But that quickly fell as Bugs grinned at him, lashes fluttering flirtatiously.
"Am I as funny as I am pretty?", he asked jokingly.
"Twice as", Mickey responded with a grin.
"Do I make you laugh?", Bugs asked, pulling on Mickey's tie and leaning in.
Mickey gave him a small peck on the cheek," You knock my socks right off, doll", he said sweetly as he reached for his glass, having not drank a drop since Bugs entered.
Bugs subtly preened under the compliment and Mickey smiled fondly behind his glass.
"That still doesn't answer my question though", Mickey continued.
"What if… I don't want to answer it", Bugs replied.
Mickey hummed, his thumb brushing over the area under Bugs' eye, feeling that area felt a little off. Like it was more freshly painted. To hide something.
"Rougher day, today?", Mickey inquired softly, repeating the question Bugs had asked him earlier.
It was a quick shift of his gaze and the way Bugs started subconsciously biting the glass that clued Mickey in on his mental state.
Bugs Bunny was not great with feelings. Mickey spent years learning all of his tics so that he didn’t neglect the rabbit's feelings. Mickey won't lie, it was hard as Bugs was an incredible actor (almost to his detriment), but learning what all the little movements and nervous tics meant was entirely worth it to Mickey if it meant this radiant rabbit found it worth it to stick around a little longer.
That's why Mickey didn't speak much further on that. Instead, he pulled from his vest pocket a pack of cigarettes, slipping one put for Bugs to take. Bugs slowly took it and placed it in his mouth. Mickey provided a lighter as well and held it to Bugs' cigarette.
This action evoked a memory in Mickey. Something that happened years ago, but that Mickey could remember like it was yesterday.
It was one of those film parties that got held after a successful movie. Who framed Roger Rabbit had been a massive success and the entire cast had been invited.
Mickey sat on the rooftop, that night, feeling like absolute dirt despite the happy festivities. A cigarette hung loosely on his lips as he stared out at the lights of city.
One moment, he was alone. The next he had his temporary co-star next to him. Bugs Bunny, looking right as rain to the unaware populace.
Mickey had offered Bugs a cigarette on the promise he told no one about Mickey's awful habit. Bugs laughed, agreed to it and took the cigarette.
Mickey watched for a few rather pitiful seconds as Bugs struggled to get his lighter to work before showing mercy and lighting his own lighter, hovering it within Bugs' gaze with the silent offer of lighting it for him.
The action made Bugs pause long enough for Mickey to notice the hesitation. But he didn't have time to dwell on that as Bugs placed the cig near the lighter.
"What a gentleman", Bugs cooed before giving Mickey one of those zany kisses crazier toons did before running away.
The action stumped Mickey so much he almost dropped his cigarette. His expression must have been funny, because Bugs started to laugh. And really laugh.
Given that those sort of kisses never had any meaning behind them, Mickey should've just forgotten about it and moved on. But he didn't, the kiss and Bugs' charming, captivating laugh stayed with him that entire night.
They talked more. Mickey tried his damndest to be normal in front of the Looney hare but it was getting hard with every laugh he miraculously managed to pull from Bugs.
At some point, they were playing a strange game of keep away. Bugs had snatched the last cigarette Mickey had wanted and played a game out of it. Mickey had to get it back from him.
One thing led to another. A push, a body hitting the wall. Mickey trying his hardest to keep Bugs from escaping. A small, innocuous slip. Mickey falling into Bugs by accident. Their lips meeting in a tremendous smash.
Neither of them moved for a sharp minute before Mickey finally willed his body to move. Apologies came out like rapid fire from Mickey who fervently checked if Bugs was okay and continuously apologised for his large overstep of a boundary. Bugs himself was quiet as he watched Mickey rapidly apologise, his body frozen against the wall.
When Mickey tried to leave, he felt a trembling hand on his back keep him in place. His eyes widened, looking up at Bugs in the darkness. You could just barely make out the dark blush on Bugs' face.
"Stay", it was as much a demand… as it was a plead. But Bugs still removed his hand from Mickey's back, giving the mouse the option to run away and not look back. The option to forget.
Mickey stayed.
Both of them moved in tandem for the first real kiss. And the second kiss, the third kiss and the kiss after that and the many other kisses after that. The moment they truly separated was when Bugs heard someone approaching the roof. Mickey looked at their dishevelled, almost undressed states, frozen and worried about being caught. Had Bugs not picked him up and hid, they would have surely been caught.
And perhaps, that was what made that situation all the more enticing. The adrenaline of almost being caught. The danger of it all. The kiss after that had occurred was one of relief but also of one with the prime knowledge that if they were ever caught, they would be done for.
That seemed to be all the encouragement both of them, a sad pair of disgruntled, overworked mascots, needed to pursue this further.
"Penny for your thoughts, doc", Bugs inquired, flipping a penny in Mickey's direction, that the mouse flawlessly caught as he was brought back to the present.
"Just thinking on some old memories", Mickey said softly," About that night", he elaborated.
"Ah", was all Bugs said.
Mickey gazed at Bugs. Bugs gazed back. Mickey gently took Bugs' free hand and left a kiss on it.
"I know I said earlier that you look pretty everyday- that wasn't a lie, but golly, you look really stunning today, doll", Mickey murmured softly as he laced their fingers together.
Bugs chuckled, his white fur turning the slightest bit pink at the compliment.
"Well, I do remember you saying this was your favourite dress of mine. Thought you'd love to see it again", Bugs explained coyly," Tell me, who do you think wore this style better. Who do you like it more on. Me, Marilyn or Madonna?"
Mickey chuckled," You wore it better, of course", he answered sincerely. He leaned down and murmured in Bugs' ear," Though, being honest, I always liked it best on my bedroom floor".
Mickey pulled back and watched with amusement at the flustered steam leaving Bugs' ears before the rabbit burst out laughing. He sighed, absolutely besotted with Bugs and his charming laugh that never failed to captivate him. Mickey spied a little floating heart popping close to his head.
"The Censor monkeys are gonna have your hide for that, Mick", Bugs cackled.
"So long as I got you to laugh", Mickey said grinning.
Bugs chuckled as he cupped Mickey's face.
Mickey relaxed at Bugs' touch, leaning in until their noses touched.
"I wish I didn't have places to be", Mickey murmured," I wish I didn't have all this work I need to".
"Same here….", Bugs whispered as he wrapped his arms around Mickey's neck.
But they were both there right now. And they'll take that little spark they needed to keep going.
Their lips met in what began as a soft kiss that dived into something more desperate, passionate and deep. Time was less of a worry when you were with someone who made you feel like the world stopped and you were the only other there. Track of time was lost. So later, the knock on the door felt like a bitter awakening from a good dream.
"Mr. Mouse?", the door handled jiggled.
"Wait outside, Connor!", Mickey squeaked as he thought of his half-dressed state. .
"Mr. Mouse, the car is here", Connor announced through the door.
Mickey inwardly cursed and sighed. He felt hands squeeze his arms and he looked down at Bugs who gave him a tight smile.
"I don't want to go", Mickey murmured.
"I don't want you to go", Bugs whispered back.
But as mascots, the wants of their owners always came before their own. Mickey had to leave.
"Will you still be here when I get back?", Mickey asked, a little frightened of Bugs' answer.
"I'll stay so long as you come back", Bugs said earnestly, giving Mickey a peck on the cheek before getting off of him.
Mickey smiled softly, grabbing Bugs' hand to leave a kiss on it before making himself presentable.
"As handsome as ever", Bugs quipped as Mickey finished checking and tidying himself.
Mickey chuckled at the quip, turning to Bugs with a short wink as he walked towards the door.
"Wish me luck", Mickey said cheerfully.
Bugs looked outside at the late afternoon sky," Oh Evening Star above, I wish this maroon some luck", he drawled.
Mickey laughed at the little joke.
"Thanks Bugs. I'll see you later" I love you.
Mickey never openly said those three special words before. Neither has Bugs. Though, always unsaid, the two just had an instinctive feeling they knew what their true feelings for the other were.
"See you later, Mick", Bugs said before Mickey left his study.
Mickey sighed, already missing Bugs' warmth as he walked towards the building's elevator where Connor dutifully stood.
"Ready to go, boss man?", Connor questioned.
"Yeah, let's get this over with", Mickey muttered as the elevator doors closed and began it's descent downwards.
Mickey was not looking forward to what was sure to be another dull parade of him standing and waving. But he found solace in that he'll have someone special waiting for him to arrive home.
And Mickey yearned for the day where he could finally have that sort of thing every day. With no worries for either of them.
Until then, he's willing to endure being Disney's well-behaved mascot just a little while longer.

I had read Friend of a Friend a while back but I didn't realize you had released two new updates since then so i was excited to see I had new stuff to read. I just want to say that this is my current fav and that your storytelling is amazing! This plays out like a movie, I literally see it clearly in my head as I'm reading. By the end of 8 it was implied that JK cared for yn but wow I wasn't expecting him to truly care about her as much as ch 9 revealed! So excited to read the next chapter. Also, I really hope to read some Yoongi fics from you in the future, maybe a spin off from this one??
Oh my goodness ☺️ thank you thank you for coming back to read! It’s funny that you say you see it as a movie playing out because that’s exactly how I envision it when I’m writing 🤣 my boy Jungkook had a 10 year plan and more is to be revealed ;)
I have been thinking of a spin off with Mr. Min but I’m unsure yet! We will see hehe

Changed. || Marauders - 21
A quick 3 min per chapter Marauders Era fanfic starring Faith Solace as reader × Sirius/Remus, and Minuet McGonagall (an OC of mine hehe)
Warnings: Angsty
Words: 638
Faith's POV
When the crowd dispersed, Professor McGonagall whisked out her wand and undid the freezing charm.
Faith held on to James while Remus to Sirius, hoping to stop them if they continued fighting after being unfrozen.
Sirius blinked a few times while James scowled.
“He started it,” Sirius blurted, putting both his arms up. Remus facepalmed.
Faith found herself hugging James tighter, fearing that if she let go Sirius might not be as lucky as to end up in just a fist fight.
“I don't want to hear it Mr. Black. Both of you to my office. Now,” Professor McGonagall said sternly.
The boys didn't protest, James yanked himself out of Faith's grip and followed both the professor and Sirius towards her office.
~
Later that day, Remus found Faith on one of the velvet couches in the common room. She was staring into the fire, watching as the flames flickered and contained itself in the fireplace.
“You okay?”
Faith didn't respond. Remus gently sat down next to her and gave her a small nudge. “H-Huh?”
“She speaks!” he joked, making a small smile appear on her lips.
“Any word from the two?”
Remus shook his head, “Haven’t heard from them since.”
Faith continued to stare into the fire. “I never expected them to… you know…”
He nodded in agreement. “It’ll be okay. They’re best friends, surely they can’t survive a day without each other.”
Sure Remus was just trying to cheer her up, but maybe his words did have an ounce of truth to them. Faith smiled gratefully, “Thanks Remy, I needed that.”
“Remy?” He raised a brow at the nickname.
Faith’s hand went straight to her mouth, earning her a laugh from him.
“It’s alright, I don’t mind.”
She sighed with relief.
Only recently had Faith begun to refer to Remus as Remy in her thoughts. It was a nice nickname really, she just hadn’t…well, told Remus about it until now. 😂
The main door of the common room flew open, drawing the attention of the few people inside. James stormed in, seemingly looking for something; someone.
He approached Remus and Faith the moment he laid eyes on them.
“James!–”(Faith)
“We need to talk,” James dragged Faith with him before she had a chance to respond. Remus shot Faith a confused look, one which she reciprocated.
Faith reluctantly followed James to his dorm. He opened the door with so much force it scared poor Peter who was inside.
“Out!” James snapped and Peter left the room without hesitation.
“Well, that wasn't very nice…” Faith sat on one of the chairs, glaring at James’ strange behaviour. James rolled his eyes. “What did you want to talk about? Was Professor McGonagall nice to you two…?”
James sat at the foot of his own bed, he inhaled then exhaled before releasing a long sigh.
“Cuz, I need you to trust me on this one… Black is a terrible influence and I want you to stay away from him, you got that?”
Faith felt a little taken aback, one measly argument had caused this? Aren't they best friends?? “You don't get to pick who I'm friends with…”
“Seriously? I'm just looking out for you, why are you being such a stubborn jerk—”
“What? Excuse me?!” Faith couldn't think of what to say, she couldn't think at all. First he and Sirius had to get into a fight causing her to worry, and now he had the audacity to insult her? How dare he.
“You're the one who got into a roll with Black, not me. Leave me out of this!”
“Fine then! Be that way, ugh…”
Faith felt tears stinging her eyes, threatening to spill. “Fine.”
She fled the room, slamming the door behind her as she went. She even passed Sirius on the way to the common room without noticing.

I'm only a wee babey when it comes to the Berserk fandom, but I'd love to hear some things about you and Mr. Guts if you feel like it!!
Ilysm I hope summer is treating you gently ♡♡♡
*SQUEALS* ok so modern AU time-
This dude, this huge buff dude right?
This buff dude who can lift me up like carrying a bag of grapes, I WEIGHT NOTHING TO HIM.
This dude who I know by heart would be awkawrd when starting the relationship but also a lil flinchy cuz well ✨trauma✨
But thats ok cuz we would work on it, slow proccess but its all worth it cuz the moment he starts to give in to touches he a man STARVED for them
He don't even notice how his hand tends to look for me, or how he leans on me when I'm cooking or folding laundry
Mostly in private, but I feel in my heart he loves cuddles, HUG HIM, REASSURE HIM, CARE FOR HIM, KISS HIS SCARS HE WILL MELT
Also doing exercise with him, but best I can do running on the mournings with him for the next 10 mins only to die half way-
He like "that all u got??? 😐" And I go "YES THAT'S ALL NOW LET ME SIT DOWN-😤😡😠" *procceds to piggyback carry me on the way home💕💕*
We have a black doggy called berserk, he a mommy's boi and loves to give shit to guts lololololol
He more of actions show more than words but when he gets his words HE GETS THEM
Protective, VERY much so. Isn't the type to get jelly easily after the starting to date (he more catious tbh) that easily but he pouts when I give the dog a lil too much attention
And when he decides its time for attention he will slab or pinch my butt, mabey bite my thigh if he's laying on my lap KXKKKDKKDKKKDKKDKK
Does not use nicknames, gets flusttered if I use any hehe (he called me bunny once cuz I was eating lettuce from the salad xdd)
More of a meat lover i thinks, but he eats whatever I cook for him
Man can't season to save his life. His cooking always ends up being either too salty or just bland (lots of time burned)

Chapter 10
Needless to say Emmet is high on excitement on finally getting progress and completing Mesprite trial so he wasted no time at all to get to Lake Valor . Thankfully though they did stop after a few hours of rushing halfway through the region panting and huffing as the Conductor sits down taking a sip of his water bottle and watching as Mr.Looker finally catches up.
Mr-huff-Mr Emmet ....y-you...agh....” the Agent sighs grabbing the outstretched bottle Emmet worldlesly hands to him and taking a drink himself while Mesprite happily hugs the Conductor themself puffed out with trying to keep up with him.
>On the bright side your half way there < the pokémon muses as she taps his head .
Emmet chuckles “Sorry sorry , I am Emmet i’m easily excited as my brother would say!” he grins happily
Agent Looker groans -That’s fine and all....but you must pace yourself Mr.Emmet....let’s take this time to uh rest our engines ?- he suggests adding some train lingo which gets him a amused look from the other , the Conductor standing up and leaning towards the other making them flinch afraid he might over stepped .
-u-um-
“You are correct! a hour of rest then we shall continue on to our set destination ! hehe!” he giggles a bit still high on excitement as he boops Looker on the nose laughing joy for the first time in awhile at the others reaction.
The Agent decides not to comment further and sits down and pull some fruit from his pocket eating it and handing another fruit to the over hyperactive conductor next to him who happily shares it with Sprit.
Once the rest hour was up Emmet promptly jumped up from his spot rubbing his hands on his pants getting rid of the juice residue then points his famous pose once more down the trail toLake Valor.
“Next stop Lake Valor ! Alllll Aboard!!!” then promptly starts marching full speed ahead again with Looker quickly following .
A sense of foreboding crawls up the Agents spine having a unceasing feeling about their next stop , glancing around Looker thinks as he feels a presence though can’t seem to find a source to such a presence .
——////////////
Time skip
//////:::::://////
Entering the cave the Subway Master looks around , Sprit letting go and seeming to float above and stay by the cave entrance , Looker following a bit closer to the conductor looking around as well.
“Hello? I am Emmet and i’m here for Azelf! Please show yourself so i may take your trial !”The conductor calls
There’s silence for a few mins after his announcement then a flash as the blue lake pokemon appears looking dow. at the other curiously head tilted in question.
< You wish to partake my trial?> they ask <Why?>
Emmet smiles up at the Guardian “ To find my brother ! i already passed your sibling Mesprite trial! I have no doubt i’ll pass yours!”
he states proudly in full confidence and maybe some cockiness.
Azelf’s eyes narrow curiously at his attitude thinking over what the man said, Agent Looker behind him shifts nervously at the look the pokémon gives Emmet seeming to contemplate such cockiness and clearly sees a challange .
<Confident one aren’t you? Very well you may take my trial> the pokémon finally answers floating away from him and suddenly multiple walls of pick light appear in front of the two humans .
<Show me unyielding will! Pass through if you can!>
Emmet grins eyes set in determination he grips the brim of his hat and starts marching foward.
“As you wish!”
The subway Master blinks as he passes easily through the first wall of psychic energy , while very minor at first the feeling of the wall that seems to gently try to push him backwards felt like a mild wind on a cool day , intresting veeerry intresting he thinks as he walks passthe 1st barrier with ease then the second though the 3rd is where it starts to actually get difficult.
The push from the psychic energy feels like being bounced off a trampoline stunning him for a second but he quickly powers on putting more effort in as he feels like he walks through jello solidifying , reaching the fourth barrier is when a splitting headache strikes through his mind making him yell out , hearing the muffled voice of Agent Looker calling to him.
he grits his teeth “ I am Emmet, i’m fine!” he calls out opening his eyes not realising he closed them in the first place , he looks up towards Azelf who looks a bit smug and he narrows his eyes , takes a breath and pushes through the fourth wall.
His smile strained and wobbly, head pounding at such intense psychic energy trying to force him back physically and mentally, hair frazzled as the artificial wind from such becomes stronger.
Emmets breath stutters and shakes as he keeps pushing and pushing not giving up inching his way through as fear of lifting his foot off the ground to far might make him slip, he finally passes the fifth barrier and inches to the sixth , panting , Emmet notices that his vision is starting to blur at the edges and he feels something wet drip down his face, is he crying? Honestly he might be with the dam splitting headache pounding through his mind , his hand trembles still having a tight grip on his hat , with his other hand he raises it towards the last barrier determined to pass through.
Muffled yelling barely reaches him before his finger tips touch the last barrier then suddenly the intense pressure is lifted and he gasps as he lurches foward stumbling before balancing himself out panting he looks up at Azelf who seems surprised yet impressed.
he grins sharply blood running down his nose,ah that’s what the wetness he felt was, he lifts his hand to his face rubbing his nose.
Azelf hums
<Impressive.....take my fang to fulfill your will>
A fang appears in psychic energy floating down to the Conductor who grins ready to take it when suddenly a new unfamiliar voice cuts through the cave.
THE FUCK WAS THAT!?
Emmet and Looker freeze and turn to the newcomer, the subway Master being tired,in pain still from a headache and maybe a tad light headed gives a dangerous smile as he grins at the teenager.
“Heeeeeelloooo~ Who are you~?”
he sing songs while Mr.Looker quickly chastises him as the teenager literally screams in fear at the Subway Master.

HOW IS IT OVER THERE?? Hopefully the weather’s treating you well in Switzerland!
Also DOG PERSON KARASU Lowk I can also see it…I was not expecting that breed though lowk LMAO I also thought it was a spaniel of sorts but?? I’m just gonna trust whoever made the post bc I mean the visuals aren’t insanely detailed either so…ok but trench coat Karasu >>>>> Lowk I saw people hating on the tan and I’m like that’s not what I’m complaining about LMFAO maybe people got too used to the blue???
Them matching the dogs with their teams is sooo cute but also a funny Easter egg for those who don’t read!! Ok but ummmm tabieitaken WHERES THE EITA??? I’m ngl I’m a little surprised Reo is there since he’s not as pivotal to the third selection but maybe it’s a marketing moment….
Ok and definitely like hey…shit talking is Lowk necessary….like I kinda use it as a way to like warn friends of red flags or bad people….i agree in moderation though LMAO like people who shit on others for no reason <<<<
I’m ngl o completely forgot what I wrote before and when I started reading abt yuki I thought you meant Yukimiya and was astronomically lost but I GET IT NOW!!’ But FR she literally was on campus for like 5 min and had already been like no contact with the school for so long like what???
Omfg the “you have 13 minutes before I kill you” is SO. BAROU!!! Like the epitome of Barou if you ever decide to write something like this I’m advocating for this line to make the cut!!!
LMFAOOOO IBS ALLEGATIONS IM CRYING BUT FR!!! I wonder what he’d do to get Barou to go on a date or if he’d even bother approaching Rin LMAOO something about yuki comically losing his shit has me giggling
Omg NOOO thats actually the worst!! Manifesting that your bc adjusting period speeds up right about now!!!! And I hope you didn’t have to go through motion sickness for the whole like 8 hours but at least now you can get some fresh air!! Was there a lot of turbulence or is it just kinda a plane sickness sort of thing? Either way hoping it isn’t as bad on your return flight! I’m trying to think of some nausea remedies….I think the fastest one ik of is ginger based items (courtesy of a friend who shoved a bunch of ginger candies in my hand one day LMAO)…ofc I think walking around lightly helps too!
- Karasu anon
it’s super super nice out!! i just took a shower and a nap as well as ate something substantial and i’m feeling much better now thankfully as well 😄 the place we’re staying doesn’t have air conditioning but it’s not miserably hot and it gets cold at night so we’re just going to open windows and vibe hehe…luckily everywhere we’re going in france + the two days we’re in italy we’ll have AC because it’s really really hot there according to the weather app 😭
I LOVE KARASU’S FIT he looks so handsome and put together it’s giving me 30s noir film vibes in the best way…tbh the tan >>>> the blue i think the blue is too bright at least in the colored illustrations!! also yes i can totally see him liking dogs he just gives me secret animal lover vibes in general…bruh actually so true where IS otoya?? maybe it’s payback for how majestic and detailed of a shot he got in the trailer compared to 90% of the characters HFKSJSAHFKS
there’s def a difference between being a bully and just saying what needs to be said!! and also too it’s all abt what you choose to say/make fun of if that makes sense LMAO
no every time i write yuki i have to put sm context around it to clarify which one i mean…help but imagine yukimiya and geto meeting through gojo and mrs l/n 😭 atp yukimiya is an honorary pi character so he’s basically in jjk already which means essentially he IS the reason why geto had his downfall 🥱 /j
YESSS i just think that would be the funniest dynamic with barou…like almost a reverse fwtkac karasu and reader?? where barou is legitimately tweaking out over every little thing and reader is just in love with him but he has 0 clue and thinks she’s his arch-nemesis 😫 bro watches the dark knight every time before he goes to her house just to hype himself up meanwhile reader is twiddling her thumbs and kicking her feet waiting for him 🤩 normally i don’t like writing an mc who likes her love interest more than he likes her but truly with barou’s personality this is the best way i can imagine it
rin hiori and niko i feel like he wouldn’t ask because they’re much younger (15/16 compared to karasu and yuki being 18) but omg imagine he convinces barou to go bowling with him and then reader (who can’t bowl) shows up and it’s genuinely barou’s final straw 😓 the real reason he didn’t play in the game against pxg is because snuffy was terrified barou might actually murder karasu JFHSKKS (loki did NOT gaf either way but yk snuffy has to be a #responsibleadult) 😟 pls the thought of yukimiya going apeshit cracks me up too but honestly it’s what he deserves 😔
luckily i’m finally doing better!! i think my mother might’ve brought ginger gum with her so i’ll probably ask her for some for the flight home just in case…thankfully i actually wasn’t terribly nauseous on the plane it was just before and afterwards?? 🤔 idk HAHAHA but at least it’s gone now 😪

FOP: A New Wish ep 9-12
only 1 more week after this. kinda sad; this is actually a pretty fun ride
Episode 9: Trial and Hair-ror
the description of this episode almost literally is Hairicane. the title card is even similar. i guess we'll see if Cosmoa and Wanda bring up any deja vu about this scenario.
also weirdly this one isn't listed separately again On Demand; the other 3 are while we have e10/e11 stitched together and e11/e12 stitched together also available. again, this is why airing only 15 min segments as *separate episodes* is annoying. yes it's available stitched to e8 (as it properly should be), but it's still annoying. ok i'm done ranting about this, onto the actual episode!
the hair is talking...ok, we are not retreading...
so many hair puns...
and Hazel is bald O.o
i'm having trouble commentating here, as i don't do hair stuff. i mean we're doing a lot of Looney Toons shenanigans, so that's fun i guess.
"this clock tower was here the entire time" pfft ok
the hair built a person suit....ok, i'll add that to the horror elements
but ok the overall message is be kind to yourself and others, winning isn't everything, i...idk what else. this episode just didn't do it for me, which is a-ok! it's not bad, it's just...not interesting to me personally. and you know, being the first episode to be like that this season, that's a pretty good track record. so we still good.
Episode 10: Weird Science
this and the next taking title cues from old tv huh? i can dig it
wait Alec Schwimmer is a writer??? didn't you write some of my Top 10 episodes?? *goes to check* oh...no you didn't...you did write the more tolerable s9 episodes though so maybe that's why i recognize the name. ahem, anywhos...
SPORT! that's what Wanda called Tim...thus Squirt for Hazel...idk why that just clicked in my head
but wait, she can't wish for her failed science project to work with the intent to win eth science fair with it; that's using magic to win a contest and you aren't allowed that in Da Rules. her lightbulb should just turn off once we get to the judging portion...
oh but no we're doing this; they changed the laws of science so her potato lamp would work. well...i suppose that would skirt the "can't use magic to cheat" rule a bit, since they didn't make the project work...they just made physics change to allow what she made to work...that's totally different right? (heh Inkshade's "is it really a lie if reality twists itself to make what you said truth" really applies here)
oh hai Jorgen! there's a science fairy...who's a brain in a jar...*puts another check in the horror category* but interestingly enough that fairy magic has to follow the laws of physics, considering they always manipulate it. if anything i'd say they'd have to listen to the rules of entropy and chaos sure *shrugs* but interesting that once Jorgen knew it was for eth science fair he didn't cite the "no magic to cheat and win" rule
potato power fixes everything lol ok sure
i love the "I tried" sticker
mk, so overall it was an ok episode. very typical for the setup, and we learned our lesson by the end. it's passable.
Episode 11: Mystery She Wished
ok for real, you do a Murder She Wrote parody title? who's watching me? i LOVE Murder She Wrote so much!! (unironically) you already are starting off with mega points
daww she's a mystery buff too, that's cute
hehe Father Time cameo, boy does he look ominous
hmmm...we're going classic detective noir like in Where's Wanda? and not Mrs Fletcher-ing this. my excitement has dwindled, but it's ok
implying a dead body's in a rug so casually O.o dang show, i love your darkness
wait why is Mark Chang on the suspect/conspiracy board??? Elvis i get, and the Jar-Jar knock off, but there was a Grey alien, so Mark was redundant...but hey Mark cameo
ok so we'll cite Da Rules here but not in the previous episode?
oh cool twins, that's a neat twist
and yeah Hazel, even i figured they were doomsday preppers. and they are also conspiracy nuts
heh fairies in the lava lamp. Genie Meanie Minnie Mo reference
but ok that was kinda cute. the best part was the title...for me, but yeah no it's fine.
Episode 12: Prime Meridian Love
the girl is an anime fan. mk, i can get on board with that. it's a different, yet familiar character trait. Tim liked comic books, and they tried to do it for Chloe with her Hungry Games book series. plus anime and manga are far more popular and easily accessible these days. so yeah, cools.
heh she can't avoid spoilers
oh and hazel girl, i get the dance thing
pfffft buwahahah the magical girl sequence as fish-boytoy is made real from the book XDDD
ok so we're citing Da Rules about fictional characters knowing about fairies.
AND HE'S ROBBIE DAYMOND!!!!! BLUE MAGICAL BOI!! you're getting type cast but it's so funny XDDD also magical anime dress up montage XD
heh Dev secretly likes the manga, that's cute. the principal is too...that's funny XD
i kinda love the different frame rate hotfishboi has vs Hazel and the rest
another magical transformation into a blobfish XDDD
but wait if he's staying in the real world, doesn't that mean his series is gonna fall apart? that's what happened when the Chin was wished out and refused to go back. then again, it's a manga...their release schedules are different, so would anyone really notice if the series just ended. i mean, Hazel didn't know about the non-translated prequel. and also series can go on hiatus for years then come back too, so yeah it'd be far less noticeable compared to the monthly Crimson Chin series
so, this was actually a fun take on wishing your media character real. and you know, Robbie Daymond being a magicalhotblueboi. so i give this episode many points.

I apologize but I just wanna talk about how GROSSLY UNDERRATED Jetsons: The Movie is: *cracks knuckles*
So let's start with the premise: Meet George Jetson; father of two, husband of one, and employee of mean ol Mr. Spacely in charge of spacely sprockets. One day Mr. Spacely gives George a promotion to run a new sprocket factory on another planet, which means moving the family away from all they know and love; daughter Judy's rocker bf, his boy Elroy's spaceball team, and idr Jane his wife's loss (I'm doing this all from memory to emphasize the impact this film had on me that haven't seen since I was a child ass kid, I am nearing 40 now so let that sink in) Anyhow, George is partnered with a robot co-worker who is showing him the ropes, they even have a rap song about it, as well as being his new neighbor who's roboson goes to the same school Elroy goes to now and shows off in spaceball, making Elroy's once great skills seem mediocre. Judy falls for a blue heart throb who's music is out of this world (hehe, space puns) BUT the conflict of the movie is when the Jetsons discover the new sprocket factory is mining on an indigenous people's land and destroying their homes as well as putting their lives in jeopardy. Will George turn his back on his new cushy job for the greater good? Will Elroy learn the importance of teamwork? Will Judy's new bf prove to be mr right? What were Jane and Rosie the robot doing during all this that my old brain couldn't retain? All these answers and more in a fun-filled 80 min romp that of course ends with an obligatory rap song summing up the events of the film. I just bought the blu ray cause I remembered how much I liked this movie and wanted to carry it over to an updated media to rewatch, in my opinion, one of the most underrated animated films of the late 80s/early 90s. If you can, I *highly* recommend checking it out.
oh yeah and I forgot George's furry blue neighbors. I definitely need to rewatch this 💗
