I just had a thought and I wanna see your take on it. Austin's bear was left at Ashley (his sister)'s house earlier in the day and neither of you realize until bedtime when he can't find it and you're panicking because Austin REFUSES to sleep without his bear. And it has to be that specific stuffy, that's his bedtime stuffy. So you offer him movies, other stuffies, a belly rub anything so that he'll go to bed and you can go get the bear in the morning but Austin is not having any of it and starts having a major melt down because he wants to go night night but he is keeping himself awake because HE WANTS HIS BEAR so you drive to Ashley's place, waking her up to get the dang bear from her house
And as soon as Aus is reunited with the bear, he passes out in the carseat and maybe you don't go get the bear until 11pm so it's WAY past little!aus's bedtime?
I hope you like the idea <3
wahh i loved this one !!! ty for the request <3

austin was grateful for how supportive his sister was when it came to him being little. he was also thankful for you pushing him to finally tell her. that meant if he was feeling little and you were too busy to watch over him the following day, you could have ashley take care of him for a little while.
it was a bit of a hard week for him, meaning once saturday came along, he let himself finally go down in peace and you didn't mind. you went ahead and dropped him off at ashley’s for a couple of hours while you ran a few errands. you always dropped him off when a few of his little items and always made sure to pack his favorite bear. once you picked him up, you caught up with ashley for a few minutes while austin constantly tugged on your arm to get you to take him home. he loved his sister but also wanted to spend time with you too.
the car ride home was full of him babbling on and on about what him and his sister got up to. how she let him paint you a picture to take home, how he got to bake cookies and played outside for a little while. austin was still full of energy as always, but ready to settle down and have a snack then curl up on the couch with you.
you hung up the photo he painted for you on the fridge the moment you got home, yelling for him to not run in the house the moment he zoomed off to the bedroom to change into comfier clothes. his snack was fixed and you filled one of his sippy cups when he sat at the table, clapping his hands excitedly as you set it in front of him. “did you have a good time with ashley today?” you asked, sitting in front of him.
“missed you.” he took a sip of his juice and took a bite of one of his animal crackers. “but she said i could come over whenever i wanted! can i go back next week?”
you gave him a soft smile, nodding. “of course, only if shes not busy.”
austin played for most of the day, forcing you to play restaurant for about an hour. you must have ‘eaten’ at least ten whole plastic pizza’s before he finally moved onto something else.
the sun had set by the time he was getting sleepy, ready to get on with his bedtime routine. you helped him brush his teeth, change into his pajamas, and got him right into bed. austin looked around his bed, under the cover and the pillows. “where’s bear?”
“you don’t have him?” you looked under the bed and in the living room-the bear was still nowhere to be found. “when did you last have him?”
“umm….” austin closed his eyes, thinking. “oh! ashley’s!”
maybe he left it in the car. hopefully. “hold on.” you went out and checked the car, tearing it apart and even checking under the seats hoping he had dropped it. “you have to be kidding..” you muttered, not finding it anywhere. you sighed when you walked back into the house, austin was standing there with a look of fear on his face. “baby…i think you left it at ashley’s.”
“can we go get it?” he frowned.
shaking your head, “she’s asleep, it’s bedtime. i promise we can go get it in the morning, why don’t you sleep with one of your other plushies?”
he looked at you like you were crazy, crossing his arms. “i want my bear.”
“i know you do.”
“not sleeping without it.” he pouted.
“austin.”
he threw himself on the couch, refusing to get up. “want bear.”
you already knew you were in for a long night. one thing about austin while he was little was he never hesitated to be stubborn just to get his way. unfortunately, this was going to be one of those nights. you just really didn’t want to bother his sister for something silly, especially this late.
“what if i let you watch a movie before bed? hm? maybe some milk? a lil’ bedtime story too?” you offered him anything that could possibly get his favorite plushie off his mind, practically begging him to forget the bear but austin just wasn’t having it. he stomped feet angrily, tears pooling in his eyes.
you waved your hands frantically as you saw the tears, shushing him and trying to stop him before he started throwing an even bigger fit. “austin-no, no. it’s okay, don’t cry. you know bear isn’t gone forever, right? he’s with someone you love and trust, we can easily go get him in the morning the moment ashley gets up.”
“momma, i want him now. can’t sleep without him, please momma. i can’t-i just-i need him. please.” he cried. “won’t-can’t sleep without ‘im..”
you gave up, rubbing at your own tired eyes. “okay.”
you called ashley, feeling awful for waking her up. it was way past austin’s bedtime and honestly, yours too. you apologized to her immediately once explaining the whole situation to her.  thankfully, she was understanding and went to search for the bear herself, finding it under the coffee table. “would you be okay if i came by to pick it up? i know it’s late but austin is just…well. y’know.”
ashley chuckled on the other line, “yeah, i know. that’s fine. just text me when you pull up so i can bring it out to you.”
austin was tired, fighting his sleep the entire ride. you just wanted to be in bed at this point. that bear was never leaving the house again, you were going to make sure of it this time. you pulled up to ashley’s house again and texted her, apologizing again. she came out shortly, waving to austin in the backseat and then knocking on the window. “hi ausie! i think you left your friend behind.” she handed him the bear, getting a squeal from austin in response.
you looked at austin through the mirror, “what do you say?”
“thank you.” he mumbled tiredly, hugging the bear close to his chest.
“sorry about waking you, really appreciate you doing this-he was being a little too fussy about the bear.” you said, giving her an apologietic smile.
she frowned, leaning against the car window. “you gotta be nicer to y/n, okay? are you gonna sleep now that you’ve got your bear back?” austin only nodded, still clutching onto his bear. “good boy, don’t give y/n a hard time. sleep well, ausie. i’ll talk to you tomorrow.” she pinched his cheek and waved at you once more, “have a good night!”
“you too!” you waited till she walked into the house to drive off, glancing at austin who had his eyes closed with a peaceful expression on his face, finally content. you’d probably have to carry him to bed, but that was okay.

Alrighty, relating to that QSMP AU thingy again, I drew the Capybaras, all of em!! (or so I believe?)
First we got Senhora Neide & Elisangela!!
Tumblr media
Senhora Neide is based on a Butternut Squash Roll, while Elisangela is based on Calamari!!
Next is Mr. Mustard & Pozolito!!
Tumblr media
Mr. Mustard is based on a Chocolate Tart with Coffee Meringue, and Pozolito is based on a Popsicle, more specifically one called a Bomb Pop!
Finally, we have Abuelito & Seu Madruga!!
Tumblr media
Abuelito is based off of this dessert that I have no idea what the freak it's called (cus where I found it didn't state where), but this video of someone making a manderine orange-based treat is what I based Abuelito on
Meanwhile Seu Madruga's based on a watermelon pizza
Now why I picked these for each one?
Elisangela was pretty obvious for me, since they have a squid on their head, I thought of Calamari!!
Senhora Neide made me think scuba diver, so since I didn't have an idea for her, I searched up what Scuba Divers can & can't eat before (and after) scuba diving, and what Capybaras eat, which gave me veggies (for the first one), and a whole list for the second one, but it included Squash, so then I searched up Squash desserts, & Butternut Squash Roll was the one I thought fit well for Senhora Neide!!
For Mr. Mustard (and a huge majority of the other capybaras), I realized I didn't actually know much about the capybaras, so I went to the QSMP Wiki page (which probably isn't the best place to go to find correct info, but it was the best I had), read a bit on them, and tried to find something to fit. Now I already wanted to do chocolate or coffee, but I was gonna just go with coffee, so I looked up coffee desserts, and found the Chocolate Tart with Coffee Meringue, which I felt fit for Mr. Mustard!! I didn't wanna just make Mr. Mustard be mustard btw XD
For Pozolito, I also looked at the Wiki page, and read one part that made me immediately have an idea, and I'm not gonna clarify what I read in case it's spoilers for someone else, but that lead to me making them based on a Bomb Pop :3
For Abuelito, I kinda just got the vibe they'd be something manderine-related (they also strangely made me think of that video of Capybaras in a body of water with manderines in it, while none of the others did), so I searched up Manderine desserts, and nothing catched my eye except for the video I linked earlier, but then they didn't state what the dessert was & I got sad. I used it anyways tho lol
Finally, for Seu Madruga, I just wanted to make one of them watermelon, and they were the only one left, so I picked watermelon for them, but then had to find a watermelon dessert. Then I found one that said Watermelon Pizza, which I honestly didn't know people did, like I've heard of cookie pizzas & mint chocolate pizzas, but not watermelon pizzas, and so since I heard that Seu Madruga was mocking Quackity (I read the wiki for that, but when I saw that I automatically recognized Seu Madruga since I had seen them in a clip of Quackity's stream, when he first met them), I thought since that could count as a mock pizza, so I made them a watermelon pizza
And that's why I picked the treats I did for them!!!

Mari celebrating her birthday headcannons
Tumblr media
Dw Mari & Mari
Tumblr media
Dream Mari
-She's hinted to the others about celebrating her birthday but hadn't really expected anything big
-She thought about just a small picnic with a birthday cake
-Well, she got a lot more than just a birthday cake
-The friends wanted to set up the perfect birthday for Mari
-They all decided to give each other tasks in order to form the ultimate birthday
-Hero was in charge of the main course, the food, he always cooks his food with love but this was a very special day for Mari so he gave it his all
-Basil was in charge of setting up the picnic where the party was going commence, making it all pretty with his flowers
-Kel was in charge of entertainment, games, confetti/streamers, just general fun party things
-And finally, Omori and Aubrey were in charge of distracting Mari from the main surprise, they still celebrated her birthday by going out and viewing places
-Finally, once everything was prepared Hero, Basil and Kel went to go search for Mari, Omori and Aubrey at the last location Omori and Aubrey said to meet up
-The three were up in the otherworld drinking juice and eating light snacks when all of a sudden Pluto came down with Hero, Basil and Kel
-"Hey guys! Mari, we have something for you but you'll have to hurry up!"
-Omori and Aubrey quickly ran to their friends and Mari trailed behind, a bit confused of the rush
-They had Pluto transport them back to the forest where they would then walk to the secret birthday picnic that was planned
-Omori covered Mari's eyes as he led her into the picnic area
-Mari's eyes were then uncovered as she saw the beautiful display of food, gorgeous flowers and colorful decorations
-"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARI!"
-They all sat down and ate all the yummy food Hero had cooked up, they even tried baking a cake the day before that turned out half-decent
-Mari couldn't be more thankful for the wonderful friends that she has
-They'll all be getting extra cookies for their efforts as a thank you
Mari
-Mari is the kind of person to put others in front of herself, she's always been remembering and planning everyone else's birthdays that she doesn't think about her own
-When she woke up on the day of her birthday Sunny was no where to be found
-'He must've gone off with the others early today' Is what Mari thought
-But when she went down to the kitchen to make herself some breakfast, she saw a little note
-'Meet me at our secret hangout spot at 4:00pm' -Sunny
-Although she was confused on why he didn't tell her to meet there himself, she brushed it off as Sunny being Sunny
-Meanwhile, Basil and Sunny were baking a cake with the supervision of Hero
-Kel and Aubrey went to the store to get supplies and last-minute gifts
-It was already 3:00 when all the supplies were bought and the cake was baked
-Time went by fast so the friends had to hurry to their secret hangout spot and quickly get things ready
-At 3:40, Hero went to go pick up a pizza from Gino's so it would be nice and hot
-Finally, the time of 4:00 had arrived and Mari was there just on time
-She looked around to see a beautiful sight
-"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARI!!!" The friends all yelled
-All this, was for her?
-She stood there in shock for a bit before inviting everyone into a group hug
-Everyone then gathered around to eat the homemade cake Basil and Sunny made and the pizza from Gino's
-Basil took out his camera and took a picture
-The picture consisted of everyone around Mari smiling, laughing and having a great time

Sunday 16th June 2024
Hey journal so yesterday I started the day off by relaxing for a bit then I got ready for the day. My mum then drove to Chatham. Yesterday I met up with someone called tailie who I met on tiktok and her two friends that are dating. So when in Chatham I soon got picked up and we made are way to Southend. We stopped to at a greggs to get some food and drink. Then we carried on driving to Southend. I have 2 sausage rolls, a white chocolate cookie and also a water. Then once we got there we went in the arcades. We played Mario kart and I lost. Then we played some ice hockey and I won like usual 😂 however one game I drew as the game ran out of time. Then I also played some 2p machines with tailie and I won so many things. I won a few toy cars, loads of dinosaurs and some other things. Then after this we used all of are tickets to buy me a keyring and some sweets then tailie got some things as well. Then also we played this piano game in the arcades and also this sonic Olympic Games game which I lost again I wasn’t very good. Then after a while we went to adventure island and got wristbands. Tailie played a game of hook the duck and won two ducks and also a teddy bear. She ended up picking the soft grey dinosaur. Then after a while we went on a few rollercoasters and they were so good. Also when Tailie went a toilet I went on the ferris wheel with the other lot and when up there It chucked it with rain and was windy making are pod go half fourth and water was getting all of us it was awful but very funny. Then after a while we also got some sugar donuts they were so lovely and were got as well which made them even better. Soon after this we went to the fish and chip shop. It as this restaurant version it was really small but was so cute and nice. Also the chef spoke to us which was nice. I ended up having a burger and chips it was lovely. It also had cheese and bacon inside it was delightful. I did also have a j20. Then after this we went to the arcades again. I played again tailie on the dancing machine I wasn’t very good and it was tiring. Forgot to mention I also did play some basketball in the arcades earlier and I won in that. I was 3 points of the 3 round. You needed 100 points to proceed and I got 97. I also watched Tailie play on the claw machine. Then after a while we went to this place for mini golf and it was all electronically done. Whilst waiting to play we had some drinks and played this photo roulette game on our phones. Anyways mini golf was good although I was not very good.
After mini golf I got dropped off home. Once i got home I ended up near enough going straight to sleep and woke up at about 9am this morning. This morning started the day by watch in my dad look at he’s cards and open presents for Father’s Day. Then my mum dropped me off into town. When in town I got my haircut and got a medium skin fade. Then I went to the shops and got myself some needed deodorant as I was running out. Then I also went kfc and ordered only two mini bbq wraps. However they were so slow in there so it took me 20 minutes or 15 minutes abouts to get them. Then after this I ate them then walked to the gym. Once at the gym I train idc biceps, triceps then a little bit of chest. After this I went on the treadmill for 30 minutes then did some forearms. Then my mum picked me up. Once I got home I played some jackbox games with my little brother and my dad. Then we also ordered in some pizza for Father’s Day so I enjoyed some of that and also some chicken and Fanta. Then after all of this I had a shower and now I am writing in here. Anyways speak to you later journal, bye journal!
Here are some photos from yesterday! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Day 10 of Christmas: Bake Cookies for Friends
As much as you loved being in the company of the Winchester boys, you missed seeing your other friends. You video-chatted with Donna and Jody along with Charlie and Harry. Sadly Harry couldn't make it to you as he was on a mission. But Charlie and the other two women could. You told them you missed them so much and you wanted to surprise the boys with some friends of yours. You invited your best friends too. The more the merrier, and you missed them. Plus Dean always wondered who these people you kept in contact with so much. He was intrigued to meet them so much when you mentioned that they weren’t hunters. Very rarely does a hunter keep in contact with their ‘old’ life.
Most leave that all behind in favor of “The Family Business”. But you just had too many ties. Too many people to make a fuss if you just jumped off the face of the Earth. Too many people were willing to find you at any cost. So you just keep in contact with everyone you could while hunting. Most aren’t fortunate to lead this double life of yours. Being one of the few hunters who can keep their friends and family in the loop, you were a bit famous in the hunting community. Only getting more popular when you started hunting with Sam and Dean.
You made sure to coordinate with everyone and told them to drive out to the bunker by today. They all should be pulling up by tonight at the latest. Sam and Dean knew you had a surprise for them, they just didn’t know. All you told them was that today you were baking a lot of cookies for something special. They were begging to know what this was all about you told them you’d be making about a pound of sugar cookies. They both sputtered like two fishes out of water when Dean then exclaimed “As much as we love your cooking Y/n, we can’t eat that many cookies!” You then explained that you wouldn’t be eating them all by yourselves. Questions kept being thrown at you while you all made the dough and you kept a straight face mostly. You were so excited but had to keep it all inside while you all made the cookies.
By the time the cookies were in the oven and you set the timer on your phone, Donna Said she’d carpooled with Jody and they should be there in about three more hours. Perfect. You may have gone overboard with the cookies. You made about five batches of cookies but at the same time, these hunters have appetites out of this world. So in the end, you figured it’d be just enough for all of you. Charlie was about 30 minutes away, she just finished up a case nearby and went to her hotel room to freshen up. She’d be the first one here. You told everyone to not worry about dinner since you’d be ordering pizza and had plenty of booze to go around unless they wanted to bring something for everyone. Which For Jody would be the case, she said she’d bring some surprise for everyone. You were excited when your friends said they were about 3 hours away. They’d be showing up with Jody and Donna. You were getting everything in order when your timer went off for the last batch of cookies. Grateful you used your phone timer instead of the one way in the kitchen and put on your oven mittens took out the cookies and placed them on the cooling rack. You started cleaning up the kitchen a bit when Dean came into the kitchen and practically beg to know what was going on. You took pity on him. You could never say no to Dean.
You told him everything and he was ecstatic and immeadiently went to tell Sam. They were hyper already and they didn’t even eat any of the cookies. You hadn’t seen them smile so big in so long. For a moment you felt a bit of sorrow, not knowing the next time they would smile hurt. They were always getting hurt somehow. They deserved nothing but happiness for all they do. When you’ve told them this is the past, they always say you do just as much. They were good to you. And it seems you were one of the only ones who gave them that in return.
With everything just about done in the kitchen, you went off to your room and as you walked by Dean’s room you could hear him muttering about something. You asked him what he was doing and he promptly jumped up from his desk chair and said it was a secret. You chuckled as you kept walking. There seemed to be a lot of secrets around here lately, and for once, they were nothing bad. You kept working on your current project when you got two texts from both Jody and Charlie, saying they’d be there in five minutes. You practically skipped out of your room and knocked on the boy’s door you told them the news and they followed you to the stairs and finally the front door.
When you saw all three girls pull up next to each other you couldn’t hold your excitement anymore and you attacked the girls with hugs which they replicated. You all went inside and talked about recent hunts and family festivites. You’d asked Jody where Alex and Clarie were and she explained that they weren’t really feeling the holiday spirit and were working/hunting. Sad, but hey, what could you do? Donna talked about her recent hookup with some guy named Jack, and Jody showed her a little surprise. It was green bean casserole and potato salad. Alright, so pizza, casserole, and potato salad. Weird dinner sure but you had worse. Easy conversation flew by and you a text from with you all as you got texts from your best friends saying they were five minutes out. You left the ladies with Sam and Dean in the library to go greet your friends.
When they pulled up, they quickly turned off the car and jumped out to hug you and bombard you with questions. You answered everything while bringing them into the bunker. Charlie, Donna, Jody, Sam, and Dean all quieted down when you entered the bunker with some unfamiliar faces. You introduced your two friends and both boys accepted them graciously. If you trusted them, they did too. The ladies greeted them with apprehensive but warm smiles. And at first, it was awkward and the questions were a bit uncomfortable, but soon you all found a rhythm. Sharing stories, tears and belly laughs, you stuffed pizza in your mouth with glee. You guys were having so much fun that you almost forgot about your cookies. You quickly ran into the kitchen and put all the cookies in a bowl and told everyone to follow you as you made your way to your room. Watching everything from chick flicks to straight action films. You were all stuffed, drunk, and happy.
With no one going to sleep, it was the first all-nighter in a while that you actually enjoyed.

hiii besties so excited for you to read this first chapter!! let me know what you think <333

It had been three whole days since Hotch was in the office. Things were quiet, the new year had just been rung in and while serial killers never slept, the people who made requests to your department occasionally did. In your 5 years at the BAU, you couldn’t recall Hotch ever taking a day off, holiday or not. It isn’t that you’re in incapable hands with Rossi and Morgan— but it’s weird nonetheless. It was weird to not pop into his office and offer to top off his coffee after you’d made a fresh pot. It was weird for him to not call out to Emily and chase her for her late supplemental reports. It was like there was a limb missing— as it would feel with any member of the team, you tell yourself.
In the absence of Hotch, you push open Rossi’s office door with a fresh brewed pot in hand.
“Any news on the boss?“ you ask as you refill his mug.
Rossi shrugs apathetically. “Must be a nasty bug. He hasn’t told me much.”
“Is he sick, or is it Jack?” You ask.
“Not sure,” he says.
“Did you ask him anything at all? Do we know that he’s not wasting away in a hospital bed somewhere?” You ask in an exasperated sort of tease.
“Woah, mama, take a breath.” Derek says from behind you– you hadn’t heard him enter.
“I’m just saying. It’s a total man thing to do. He could be on his deathbed for all we know.” You grouse as you fill Derek’s mug as well.
“Don’t you think Hotch would tell us if he needed anything?” Derek asks.
“No, actually, I don’t think he would,” you point out.
“Fair point,” Rossi says. “If he’s not back next week I’ll send a search party.”
Next week simply wouldn’t do. That night you went home and put together a soup. Lemon chicken noodle, for vitamin c and for comfort. You pack it all up with some cookies and a loaf of bread and head over to Hotch’s place, bundled up in your coat, hat and mittens— he’s probably expecting you at this point, it wasn’t uncommon for you to deliver a care package to a coworker in need.
You knock on the door and hear Hotch’s steady footsteps from inside the apartment. His windows still have rubbery cling decals stuck to the inside— a Christmas tree, some presents, and a few snowflakes. You smile, thinking about him and his son sticking them up together.  “Jack, the pizza’s here!” You hear him yell.
Well, Hotch doesn’t sound sick, but it certainly can’t be Jack if Hotch is letting him have pizza. The door swings open, and you smile sheepishly, decidedly not the pizza he’s expecting. He looks almost frightened, which makes your anxiety pique as you look him over, noticing the bundle in his arms for the first time.
“Hotch, you have a baby,” you say stupidly.
“And you have soup,” he says, just as dumbly.
“Is that…” you start, and then trail off. What is there to say?
“Why don’t you come inside,” he says. “It’s freezing out.”
He lets you in and the two of you fumble around each other like you’re strangers– but the only stranger in the room is wrapped in a pink terry cloth blanket. You set the soup and accouterments on the countertop, he offers you a mug of tea which you gratefully accept, and then he looks at you from across the counter as he sets the kettle on, his brows pinching together as he begins to speak.
“Rossi had taken me out to a bar, months ago, and I spent the night with a woman–”
“You don’t have to,” you cut him off, gently. “I barged in on you. You don’t have to be ready to tell me all of this just because I showed up at your house with soup.” You reiterate. “You don’t owe me an explanation.”
“I don’t know if I’m ever going to be ready for this,” he confesses. “But you feel like a safe place to start.”
The thought of that warms you up inside, just a little bit. You nod. “Go ahead, then. I’m listening.”

SINK OR SWIM MASTERLIST
“What am I not scared of? I’m scared of failing her, of failing Jack. Of failing you and the team. In a weird way I can’t quite explain, this whole situation feels like I’m failing Haley all over again,” Aaron tells you. “I don’t know… This whole thing, it really just feels like… it feels like it’s sink or swim.”
You reach out and take his hands in yours. “Okay. So we’ll swim.”

Play it Again || A. Hotchner x Fem Reader
hi all! This is just a little something based off of Play it Again by Luke Bryan. Hope you enjoy!
contains: alcohol consumption
wordcount: 1.6k
It was one of those perfect early-spring nights that reminded you that the winter was worth suffering through. You were gathered in Rossi’s backyard celebrating the unseasonably warm weather and a rare Saturday night off with everyone free. JJ and Morgan were helping Jack and Henry roast marshmallows, Spencer and Penelope were tossing tiny piles of uprooted grass at each other, and Emily and Rossi were in the kitchen putting together another pitcher of sangria. There was an early spring breeze carrying the music coming from the radio of Morgan’s truck, and you were sitting in the bed, your legs stretched out. Hotch ambled over to you, a fresh beer in one hand and a White Claw from the cooler in the other for you.
“You looked like you could use a cold one,” he said, handling the can over and settling into the side of the truck, resting his arm on the edge of the bed.
“Thanks. And you picked the best flavor,” you smile at him, cracking open the mango seltzer.
“It was mostly lime left in the cooler, I had to go digging,” he smirks.
You pull a face. “Nobody likes lime.”
“I imagine that’s why they’re all still in the cooler.”
You chuckle a little at his dry humor. You know that most people wouldn’t really call that a joke, just an observation, but those people… they didn’t get Hotch.
“I’m glad you came tonight,” you say genuinely, and you’re surprised to see how touched he is when he turns to look at you. “I know it’s not always easy to get to team stuff with Jack. It means a lot that you make the effort.”
“Despite the hardass exterior, I do truly enjoy your company. You’re right, it’s not always easy, but I want to be here with you,” he says. “With all of you,” he adds after a second, instantly regretting it. Why is it so hard to be honest with you? “Actually, I should say—” he starts, but he’s cut off by your gasp.
“I’m sorry, Hotch, but hold that thought. I’ve been waiting for this song to come on all night,” you say, hopping out of the truck and turning towards him. “Dance with me, please.”
He rolls his eyes. If it were anyone else, he’d say no, and he knows it. But he’s helpless.
“You’re totally going to kill my hardass act,” he says as he takes your hand.
The song you’ve been waiting all night for is some country-pop song, and Hotch can help but grin as you throw your head back in a laugh when he spins you. He pulls you back into his chest and you stumble a bit, giggling all the while. You make contact with his chest– it wasn’t on purpose, necessarily, but it wasn’t quite an accident, either. He catches you. You knew he would.
“Sorry. One too many White Claws, I guess,” you chuckle at your own self-deprecating joke as you take another sip.
“You okay?” He asks, looking you over and quirking a brow. You can practically see the gears of his brain turning as he attempts to mentally catalogue each drink you had this evening.
“I’m good, Hotch. Only 20% clumsier than I normally am. Just not really a dancer,” you assured him.
“You could’ve fooled me,” he tells you with a sly grin.
“Good partner. Good song. There’s a saying about broken clocks that might apply.”
“Nothing broken about you,” he says.
“What were you saying? Before the dancing,” you asked.
Aaron draws in a breath. He’d halfway hoped that you’d forgotten in the admittedly short period of time. But, you hadn’t, so it was time to pay the piper. “I was going to say— I’ve been meaning to tell you, it’s only fair—”  he starts to stumble over his words, but Jack comes over in a rush.
“Dad! Can I sleep over at Henry’s? Ms. Jareau said it’s okay,” he asks breathlessly.
Hotch gives his son a discerning look. “Did she offer to have you come over, or did you or Henry pester her until she said yes?” He asks.
For Jack’s sake, you hold in your chuckle. The profiling never stops, it seems.
“She really offered. You can ask her yourself,” Jack insists.
Aaron turns to look at you apologetically. “I should probably go talk to JJ,” he says.

Wonderstruck || Aaron Hotchner x fem reader
Hi besties missed you besties!! This is a little something sort of inspired by LDSK-- I was watching it and couldn't help but think how crushed I would be if I was in Spencer's shoes, lol. Not a direct au, just a little something adjacent to it!
and a huge thanks to @spacecowboyhotch for beta-ing this for me!
tw: misogyny, epithets against women, arguing, typical cm canon content.
wc: 2.1k
“He’s a violent misogynist. Sending her in might distract him enough to give us an opening,” Rossi says, mulling over Spencer’s suggestion to send you into an active hostage situation in an attempt to de-escalate.
“I’ll go,” you say, reaching for a vest. Hotch’s hand shoots out in front of yours, keeping you from the stack of protective equipment.
“No you won’t. He’s a violent misogynist. I’m not sending you in to become a defenseless target.” He says, his jaw set.
“I’m not defenseless!” You argued indignantly. “I’ll have a vest and a gun, not to mention half the FBI as backup.”
“I don’t like the risk. There has to be another way,” he insists.
“Hotch, it’s the best we got,” Morgan tries to reason with him.
“It’s fine. It’s the job. I can handle it,” you plead to your boss. He holds your eye contact for a moment, your hopefulness appearing to soften his steely gaze.
“Go get a discrete comms for under your vest. You won’t be able to hear us but I need to be able to hear you to know if things are okay on the inside,” he relents, and you scamper off to prepare yourself.
Once you’re ready, Hotch insists on walking you to the door of the compound.
“It’s very important that you don’t try to prove anything to him. If he asks you to sit with the other women, sit and acquiesce and attempt to negotiate subtly from there. And if he escalates, stand down. We are getting plenty just from your comms,” he counsels, placing a hand on your shoulder and taking care to look you in the eyes.
“I’ve got it, Hotch. I’m gonna be fine,” you nod.
“I’ll see you when it’s over, then.”
“See you, Hotch.”
You step into the compound and walk down a long hallway before you make it to the room where the unsub is holding the hostages.
You knock gently, opening the door and introducing yourself.
“A woman? From the FBI? Ridiculous,” he scoffs.
“I know, but the sooner you and I work things out the sooner I can get out of your hair,” you say sweetly.
“I’d sooner blow this place up than yield to one of you,” he sneers, and a look at the collar of his shirt reveals that he means it— you can see a few threatening wires coming through.
“What do you need from me to avoid that? I’m happy to oblige anything I can.”
“How about you sit down and shut the hell up, and the FBI gets me a passport and a helicopter.”
There’s another knock at the door and you whip your head around. “This is supervisory special agent Aaron Hotchner, I just want to talk,” he says, swinging the door open.
“Supervisory, huh? You sent the girl in?”
“Not by choice,” he scoffs.
You bite your tongue. It was true, you supposed, but you hadn’t expected him to tell the unsub that.

pairing: aaron hotchner x reader, emily prentiss x reader
content/warnings: in case it wasn't clear SMUT 18+ CONTENT MINORS DNI

You’ve been dating Aaron for a few years now, so you like to think you’re something of an expert on all things Hotchner. There are plenty of people, your coworkers included, who think he’s all work and no play. That simply isn’t true. At work, yes, he’s a stark professional, to his core. But they don’t see him at home, playing with his son and basking in the domestic glow the three of you have created in your little apartment. And they certainly don’t see the type of play the two of you get up to, either.
One of the tenets of Aaron’s work/play separation was that work stayed in the office. He had a home office, for when he needed it, but even there– nothing BAU-related got past the threshold. When he was home, he was home for you and for his son— work would wait as long as it reasonably could. So when you see him flipping through some paperwork in bed, you’re admittedly confused.
“Whatcha doing?” You ask, pure curiosity in your tone.
“I was just looking over the list. It’s been a while since we did these, I thought it might be worth taking another peek at,” he explains, looking at you over the readers you had bought for him a year ago, that he valiantly resisted for three months before finally admitting that they helped.
He’s talking about your kink lists, which explains why he’s made it out of the office. Just shy of a year into your relationship, you’d broached the subject of introducing a dynamic into your sex lives, just to see if you liked it. Aaron had agreed, but insisted on doing his own, extensive research beforehand. He, admittedly, was wary about the idea of hurting you– even in a consensual way— and wanted to make sure he was fully prepared, both for him and for you. So he’d presented both of you with lists— you checked off things you knew you liked, things you thought you might want to try, and things you definitely didn’t want to do.
“Why don’t you check yours, too,” he says, passing you your copy of the list. “Make sure it all still looks accurate. We’ve tried a lot of this stuff, so if you don’t actually like it—”
“Aaron, you know I’d tell you if I didn’t. I’d safeword if I needed to, or I’d tell you after the scene if I didn’t. You wouldn’t hurt me and I wouldn’t let you,” you remind him.
“I’d still like you to look. Maybe things we haven’t tried that sounded appealing then, don’t now. Or maybe you’ve found that you like things more than you thought you would. It’s all good to know,” he encourages you.
You agree, climbing into bed and taking the paper and pen that he’d offered. You move some maybes that you had tried into the solid yes column, and a couple into the no column, too, but there aren’t any major changes. After a few minutes, you switch, and you find Aaron’s form to be more or less the same. You’re not surprised, really— You and Aaron have an open line of communication. There were no surprises.
“So, I was thinking I might surprise you,” Aaron pipes up. You stand corrected.
“Oh?” You say.
“You’ve been working your ass off lately, between the team and the Academy Trainee course Strauss pulled you for,” he explains. “I wanted to do something fun for you. I noticed you still had ‘experience with two or more partners’ and ‘experience with a same-sex partner’ checked off as things you’d like to try…” he trails off nervously, and you can tell just by looking at him that he’s wondering if he should beg the floor to swallow him whole rather than continue this conversation.
“That would be a very special gift,” you agree with a smile, putting him out of his misery. “But who? I don’t necessarily want to bring a stranger into the apartment,” you say.
“You can say no, and we can never talk about it again,” he assures you. “But I was thinking… maybe Emily?”
You mull it over for a moment, taking Aaron’s hand in your own to let him know that you’re thinking, not shocked into silence. You… kind of like the idea of it. “Have you talked to her about it at all?”
“Not about joining us,” he says, and his phrasing is specific. You know him too well for that.
“But you’ve talked to her about… our dynamic?” You ask, confused. It’s not your real question— you know he’d never tell someone else about this without asking you, first.
“No, no,” he corrects. “That case a few months back, where the men were all bound— she floated the idea privately with me that the unsub may be a dominatrix, and it came up naturally, that she’s… similarly minded.”
“But with less murder,” you joke.
“Like I said, we can pretend I never even brought it up.”

Bestfriend (College!Childe x College!Reader) PART 1
note: hello! i'm going to be making an entire college au series for the genshin characters ehe. this is a pretty lengthy one so i had to cut it into two parts. i hope you enjoy!
word count: 4.4k
"Why can't I get this shit to work?!"
You checked the clock.
3:28 AM.
Great. You had a half-seven morning class with professor Cyrus, and yet, here you were. Baking cookies at 3:28 AM. Although, baking wasn't really the appropriate term for it. Maybe... burning was a better fit.
You weren't a culinary arts major; Far from it, actually. You were in a college course that needed immense analytical and critical thinking skills: Accounting. You loved your course. You were always amazed by how numbers can always add up properly if you analyzed all the transactions properly beforehand. It also gave you more patience to thoroughly understand each problem presented to you so that you'd end up with the right answer in the end.
Which is why you were so dumbfounded when your cookies looked like pieces of charcoal the moment you took them out of the oven.
You followed the recipe, didn't you? Why don't your baked goodies look like those gorgeous gooey chocolate chip cookies on the website?
That was the... fourth batch of cookies you made that night. Frustrated, you carelessly threw the still-hot baking sheet in the sink. You didn't even mind that there were crumbs and burnt cookie residue in your damp sink. Like, there were burnt cookies on your counter, on your dining table, and even on your stovetop. Why be bothered about the sink, right? You could clean it up in the morning, anyway.
"Why am I even doing this?" You sighed, eyeing how there was a bit of black smoke coming out of your oven. You opened a window and fanned it out to prevent the smoke detector from going off. You didn't need more nuances adding to your already dwindling patience.
Taking in the sight of the flour, sugar, and egg-coated workstation you had, you realized that baking just wasn't your forte. If only your boyfriend was interested in receiving his complete financial statements for the year, then maybe you'd have an easier time in thinking of a present for his birthday.
You looked at the calendar.
July 20th.
It was the day of Childe's birthday.
He informed you yesterday that his friends had invited him to go to a party the night of the 20th to celebrate his birthday, and you politely declined his offer for you to be his plus one. Of course, he was disappointed. You could notice by how his cerulean eyes drooped to the floor and how his thin, pink lips pushed themselves into a pout.
"But... You have to be there, _____." He whined, taking your hands in his.
"I know, Childe. But you know that I have to review my presentation for professor An's class. It's going to make or break my term grade." You were disappointed. You wanted to spend the entire day with Childe, maybe cuddled up in bed, eating hot pizza and watching Netflix. However, you knew how much he loved partying and hanging out with his friends- Kaeya, was it? and the other boys in their fraternity. You disapproved of his frat-boy party-going lifestyle, but you didn't want to impose, so you just kept it to yourself.
"But it's my birthday," He reasoned, voice laced with sadness.
"I know, darling. I know. We can still spend the entire afternoon together before you head out to party with your friends... If you want. You're free for the entire day, right?" Your voice faltered a bit, unsure of whether he'd accept your proposal or not.
"Mhm! I'd be more than happy to spend the whole afternoon tomorrow with you, babe. We can hit the amusement park, or maybe watch a movie, or maybe have a picnic, or..."
As Childe continued to ramble on about all the possible plans you could do tomorrow, you couldn't help but smile at him. How his demeanor changed, and how he could never seem to hold a grudge against you even if he was upset. He spoiled you so much and you wanted to let him know that you appreciate him as much as he loves you.
And... Here you were.
You didn't expect baking to be so hard. You thought that following a simple recipe would lead to a great outcome the first time around.
Look how that turned out for you. Your tokens of appreciation for Childe were there. In the sink, on the counter, on the dining table, and on the stovetop. All burnt and inedible.
"Fuck this baking thing, I'll just get Zhongli to help me before lunch." You muttered, taking off your apron and retreating to your couch. You didn't want to sleep in your bed because your clothes were still messy, but you were too tired to clean up (too pissed to even care, to be honest).
And so, you flopped on the couch and set an alarm for 6:00 AM before you drifted off to sleep, dreaming of burnt baking pans and noisy smoke detectors.
-
The annoying sound of your alarm rang in your ears like a never-ending mockery of how your life is going. Why do morning classes exist? Why do alarms exist?
You groggily rubbed your eyes and rolled off the couch, landing on the carpet with a soft "thud". You blindly felt around the coffee table to look for your phone. Upon feeling the silicone texture of your case, you pulled it towards your chest and squinted your eyes as the bright display of the lock screen glared against your eyeballs.
You opened your phone by using the passcode (0720, go ahead and guess what that means) and tapped on the green message icon to open your texts. You then quickly typed out a message for a certain history major.
[ Hey, Zhongli, mind if you help me out before lunch later so I could bake some cookies for Childe? ]
Sent 6:04 AM.
You looked up at the ceiling and waited for a while, already planning out your itinerary for the day. The ding! of your phone was heard, waking you more than you already were.
[ I don't see why not. I have a vacant period right before lunch. I'm off at 9:00 and I'm vacant until noon. Are you free then? ]
Received 6:06 AM.
You couldn't help but grin. Zhongli was so kind. He was Childe's friend since high school, and although you found him somehow... creepy because of the knowledge he possesses (Seriously, was his brain implanted with a computer chip or something?), you still considered him a good friend.
[ Thank you so much! Yeah, I only have one class today anyway. I'll meet you in front of the main building by 9:00. ]
Sent 6:08 AM.
You got up from the carpet and stretched for a bit, wincing when the small burn on your arm stung. You had a few cuts and burns on your hands, fingers, and arms because of how clumsy you were in the kitchen, but it was fine. Who doesn't fuck up from time-to-time
You headed to the kitchen to clean up. You dumped all the burnt biscuits into a large garbage bag, wiped the counters, and put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Most of the mess was already gone and disposed of, and you whispered to yourself that you could probably deep-clean later that evening after reviewing your presentation.
The ding! of your phone brought your attention back, and you smiled at Zhongli's response.
[ I'll see you then, _____. I appreciate you doing all this for Childe. ]
Received 6:15 AM.
You quickly made your way to your bedroom and grabbed different pieces to throw together a decent outfit. You assumed that Childe wouldn't let you go by the time that your little date would begin, so it's best to be prepared.
You hopped in the shower and did your morning routine, making sure to use your favorite body wash, which happened to be Childe's favorite scent. You dried your hair afterwards and threw on the outfit you prepared earlier. You checked your phone.
6:45 AM.
There weren't any new messages from Childe, so you assumed that he was still asleep. After all, it's his day-off from uni. The lucky bastard got to get one whole day without lectures, and the freest day you had still required you to attend one morning lecture.
"I have to rush to McDonald's if I want to make it in time," You whispered, grabbing your bag and slipping your shoes on before rushing out the door.
You wanted to buy Childe a nice breakfast before heading to your own class. So, you sprinted to the McDonald's just a corner away from your dorm and stood in line. You ordered his favorite breakfast meal: A big breakfast deluxe set with hot chocolate, five-piece nuggets, and a side of apple pie. You also ordered a McGriddle for yourself that you could sneakily bite out of in class.
Childe's apartment was right beside the McDonald's you went to, so it wasn't any trouble reaching where he was. You checked your phone again.
7:10 AM.
Crap. Twenty minutes until your lecture with professor Cyrus. Childe still seemed to be asleep, so you decided to leave his breakfast with the receptionist, Verr Goldet. She already knew who you were because of how often Childe invites you to his apartment.
"I'm really sorry to leave this with you, Verr. But I have to get to class in twenty minutes and I think that Childe is still asleep." You said sheepishly, placing the paper bag on her counter and fiddling with the strap of your bag.
"Oh, _____, you act as if I'm a stranger!" She laughed, taking the paper bag and placing it behind her. "Don't worry, I'll keep it warm for him. Would you like to leave a note?"
"Ah, yes please!" You took a piece of paper and a pen from your bag and scribbled a short message for the ginger.
Happy birthday, Childe! Have a hearty breakfast, I got your favorites. I'll see you later for lunch, okay? I love you! ♡
You tried to make your handwriting as neat as possible, and even added a messy doodle of the man himself. Although, it did look more like a potato than the man you were trying to draw.
"How cute you are." Verr sighed, "It must be nice to feel the wonders of youth."
"Thank you so much, Verr! I really have to get going if I want to get to uni in time."
"You're welcome, _____!"
You bid your farewells and headed out of the apartment's lobby, walking towards the shuttle stop nearest to you. You had at least fifteen minutes before professor Cyrus' class. The shuttle was about ten minutes away from uni, and it would take you a little over five minutes to get to his lecture hall. While waiting for the shuttle, you quickly tapped out a message for your boyfriend.
[ I left something with Verr for you downstairs. You better get it as soon as you wake up ♡ ]
Sent 7:15 AM.
The shuttle arrived as soon as you hit send. You showed your ID to the driver and scrambled for a seat, shoving earbuds in your ears to drown out the rest of the world with a bit of music. Fortunately, the shuttle ride was quicker than usual since there were lesser stops for that day. You gave a light bow to the driver before you rushed out of the shuttle doors and bolted to get to your lecture hall.
It was on the third floor of the left wing of the main building. You were desperately trying to catch your breath as you felt a burn rising in your lungs. You wanted to puke because of how hungry and tired you felt so early in the morning, but you brushed it off.
You sprinted down the hallway to professor Cyrus' lecture hall, seeing that nearly all the seats were occupied. There were still a few vacant seats at the back, but you were glad to see your friend, Xingqiu, waving you over from the middle row.
"Thanks for saving me a seat," You thanked your blue-haired friend, fixing your hair and disheveled clothes. You sat down just in time as professor Cyrus walked into the lecture hall and began setting up his laptop to present.
"No worries. I knew you'd be late. It's Childe's birthday today, no? You've been talking about it all week. I already expected that you'd do something for him this morning." He said, not even batting an eyelash as he carefully opened his laptop in front of him.
"That predictable, huh?" You chuckled, placing your own laptop on the table and taking out the McGriddle you shoved in your bag earlier. Professor Cyrus seemed to be tweaking a few things on his presentation, so you decided to use the spare minutes to eat the sandwich you purchased.
You scarfed it down in a few bites, leaving Xingqiu confused and a bit scared. He thought you were going to choke.
"Didn't you have breakfast before you left your dorm?" He asked, marveling at how you managed to eat the McGriddle in- four, maybe five? bites.
"I mean, I bought this," You said, motioning to the crumpled up wrapper in your hand. "It was getting late since I dropped by Childe's apartment to leave him his breakfast."
"How charming of you, _____." Xingqiu chuckled, slipping on his glasses.
"I wonder if he's awake now," You mumbled, loud enough for Xingqiu to hear, but he didn't react to it.
You opened your phone and saw seven messages from your dorky boyfriend.
[ _____ you're gonna make me cry ]
Sent 7:28 AM.
[ Where are you now? Are you already at uni? ]
Sent 7:29 AM.
[ God, I love you so much, _____! You even got me nuggets!! ]
Sent 7:30 AM.
[ I love you sooo much!! You're so cute it's unreal!! Btw, is this supposed to be me?? Do I really look like that??!! ]
Sent 7:31 AM.
[ I'm so lucky to have you, _____. You really are the sweetest!! ]
Sent 7:31 AM.
[ I'll see you later at noon. I'll pick you up at your dorm, okay? ]
Sent 7:32 AM.
[ You must be in class now. Good luck!! I'm already eating. Thank you so much, darling! I love you!! ♡ ]
Sent 7:34 AM.
You couldn't help but smile at how his aura radiated even through the screen of your phone. You clicked on the notification from Instagram and it opened to a video on Childe's story. It was a boomerang of him making a winky face and then showing his meal neatly placed on his table.
There was a caption beside a heart sticker which read:
What a great way to start my birthday. Thanks to my lovely @_____. I love you so much! ♡
A familiar warmth spread throughout your chest and you couldn't help but smile at how sweet he was. It was amazing, really. Childe's words and actions always had such an effect on you, and it didn't even matter how you were the one who did a romantic gesture for him because you were here all blushy and gushy over his sickeningly sweet messages of affection.
You put your phone away as soon as professor Cyrus soon started his lecture on the different trading policies limited by oversea regulations- or something like that.
The lesson itself was interesting, but you couldn't help to nod off and daydream about your wonderfully dorky boyfriend and his beautiful eyes, his cute button nose, his slim cheeks, his pink lips.
Childe sneezed.
-
As soon as the last bell rang, you quickly gathered your things and shoved them in your bag. You nodded a swift goodbye to Xingqiu before running off to the entrance of the main building.
Zhongli messaged you that his lecture ended earlier than expected, and that he was waiting for you by the entrance already.
You saw the brunette sitting on one of the benches, a thick history book in hand and reading glasses firmly sitting on top of his nose. You noticed a few girls just a couple of feet away from him. They were eyeing him up, probably drinking in the sight of this beautifully constructed creature.
You chuckled. It was common for you to be more aware of people fawning over Childe and Zhongli. They were a couple of incredibly hot males, you knew that. You got used to the sight of other people gawking and eye-fucking your boyfriend and his bestfriend that it was just hilarious and amusing at this point.
"Zhong!" You called, earning the attention of both Zhongli and the group of girls.
"Ah, _____. Glad you're finally here." He closed his book and tucked it away in his satchel (This man owned a satchel) before he stood up to greet you.
"Were you waiting long? Sorry." You said sheepishly.
"No, not at all. I was enthralled by this one chapter on the Ming Dynasty and their more underrated feats. History never fails to amuse me." Zhongli replied, a glint sparkling in his amber eyes.
"Hey, um," You inched yourself closer to him, "Mind if we go on ahead? Some of your fangirls are scaring the hell out of me." From the corner of your eye, you could see how they were drilling holes at your head from staring too hard. You could've sworn one girl was even holding her phone up, as if taking a photo.
"What?" The taller man whipped around to look at the girls and they scurried off upon seeing the intimidating glare in his eyes.
"You and Childe really attract attention everywhere you go, don't you?" You chuckled, walking towards the shuttle station.
"Childe, certainly. He, along with his... fraternity brothers do attract quite the crowd whenever they are together. As for myself, I doubt it. I'm more of the silent-type compared to him, anyway."
"Are you kidding me?" You bit your tongue to hold back the thought.
"I see."
"Those girls look familiar, though." He mentioned.
"Oh? Maybe history majors as well?"
"_____, if they were history majors, I would've at least recognized their faces more clearly. I feel like I've seen them somewhere."
"Ah, my bad. You and your eerily accurate memory." You teased, climbing onto the shuttle and sitting on one of the empty seats.
"It is not eerie, thank you very much." He retorted with a snarky tone, joining you on the seat.
"Of course it isn't. You remember what I said to Childe when we were watching that one movie Rex Lapis: Revenge of the Fallen?"
"Indeed I do. You said, "Rex Lapis would be hot if he was a human, don't you think?" and Childe replied, "Yeah, but I could probably beat him up. I'd be way hotter than him." It was comedy, really. Rex Lapis, although a fictional figure, has far more capabilities than Childe could even dream of."
"Do you... not see the eerie part of that?"
"What? That Childe thinks he can beat up an actual Archon?"
"No... Zhongli, we watched that movie three years ago."
"Your point is?"
"...I can't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday."
"Childe bought you some sushi."
"See what I mean?!"
"That means you have a poor memory, _____." Zhongli laughed at your face curling into a frown. "Anyway, while you were entertaining me with your banter, I recalled why those girls are so familiar."
"Do tell."
"They're part of Childe's posse."
You could've sworn your heart leapt to your throat. You knew that your boyfriend was pretty much sculpted by the Archons themselves, but, really? a fucking posse?
Zhongli noticed how the lump in your throat bobbed, and he decided that it was better to calmly explain how and why he knew about it.
"See, it was during the first year of university. Childe started hanging around Kaeya and his other fraternity brothers. There was this one occasion where Childe was nearly black-out drunk in a bar. If I didn't see on Kaeya's Instagram story, I wouldn't have known," You noticed how Zhongli's face visibly darkened, "These girls were hanging off him like koalas to a strong tree branch. It was unsightly."
"I... see."
"Although he was about to pass out, he pushed them away. Charming, really. He was already crazy about you even during the first year of uni. Even though you weren't together yet, he didn't want to "cheat" on you by entertaining other females." A soft smile made its way to your face upon hearing Zhongli's confession about how your boyfriend felt about you.
"I'm determined to make these cookies a success," You said determinedly.
"Glad to hear it. It seems we're already at your dormitory. You still have enough ingredients for the cookies, right? I assume you failed quite a few times yesterday."
"How did you even know?"
Zhongli once again laughed as you stepped off the shuttle, "Lucky guess."
Unbeknownst to the two of you, three figures were following you the moment you left the campus.
-
"_____ is so sweet! They got my favorite breakfast this morning." Childe mindlessly gushed over his significant other.
Diluc wasn't really one to listen to other people ramble on and on about feelings and love and romance, but it was his friend's birthday. He'd let it slide.
"Bro, that's just gross," Kaeya spat, taking a chug of his beer.
"Oh, shut up, Kaeya. Just because you don't plan on committing to anyone doesn't mean the people around you are obligated to do so as well." Diluc rebutted, without even looking up from his journal.
"You're in college. It's the time when you're supposed to have a shit ton of flings, no commitment. And yet you're here being loyal to _____?" Kaeya glared at Diluc, but the redhead only flipped him off.
"I don't see the problem with that." Childe spoke up, toying with the bracelet on his wrist. It was a gift from you during your first anniversary. You said you made it yourself, and although Childe could purchase all the expensive jewelry and accessories he wanted, this particular bracelet meant more to him than anything.
"The problem is _____'s going to hold you back!" Childe knew that Kaeya was half-drunk and it was still before noon, so he didn't really take his words seriously. "They aren't going to the party later, right?"
"No, unfortunately. They have to review a presentation for professor An's class."
"Hah! Review my ass. If I knew any better, that little toy of yours is just messing around with some other dude."
"Watch yourself." Childe stood up from his seat. He knew that Kaeya disapproved of their relationship because it wasn't really a "frat-boy" thing, but he didn't care about that. He cared about you more than a stupid reputation, and definitely more than a stupid lifestyle of partying, getting high, and getting drunk.
"Back up, softie. _____'s pussyness rubbing of on 'ya?" Kaeya's words were slurred, but Childe knew that there was malicious intent behind them.
"Look, I don't care about what you say about me. Call me a softie? Call me a pussy? I don't really give a shit. But the moment you start shitting on my _____? Don't even consider that I'd just stand around and let them be slandered, you piece of fuck." Childe was a few centimeters taller than Kaeya, and he always used that to his advantage when he wanted Kaeya to understand his point.
"Whatever you fucking say. It's your birthday, I'm not gonna fight with you on your birthday." Kaeya lightly pushed Childe away from him before downing the rest of the beer can in his hand.
"Don't mind him," Diluc spoke, staring into Childe's eyes. "He never thinks straight, whether drunk or sober."
"Yeah, I kinda got the message." The ginger chuckled, watching as Kaeya nearly tripped over his own feet while walking towards the case of beer supposedly for the party tonight.
"I'm glad that you and _____ are still getting along. It's refreshing to see normal people once in a while."
"Well, when you put it that way." Childe could only laugh.
"Where's the tall brunette at? Isn't he always with you?"
"Ah, you mean Zhongli? I don't know, actually. He has a lecture this morning and I wanted to meet him for a light meal before lunch, but he isn't answering my texts."
"I see."
As if on cue, Childe's phone emitted a soft ding!
He typed in his password and the screen faded into a photo of you. You were wearing one of his hoodies (it was way too big on you) and he could've fainted because of how absolutely adorable you looked.
He received a few Instagram DMs from Ellin. Ellin was a member of their posse. Childe would rather refer to them as "fraternity friends", but she insisted otherwise.
[ You're seriously praising _____ for being a good partner? Poor you, dear. ]
Received 9:41 AM.
He frowned.
[ What are you talking about? Mind your business. ]
Sent 9:42 AM.
[ Oh? It's not my business, sure. But you might wanna see this. ]
Received 9:44 AM.
[ 3 Images Attached ]
Received 9:44 AM.
Childe's eyes widened. Ellin sent three photos.
The first one was a photo of you and Zhongli standing awfully close to each other in front of the university's main building.
The second one was of you and Zhongli sitting beside each other in the shuttle.
The last one was... you and Zhongli entering your dormitory building.
"What the..."
He checked his messages to see if either you or Zhongli texted him about the ordeal. However, he was only greeted by messages wishing him a happy birthday from some of his family and friends back in their hometown. No messages from Zhongli, and no new ones from you.
"What the hell?"
He quickly typed out a message for his bestfriend. He didn't jump to conclusions; He trusted both of you, but what was this feeling in his gut? It felt icky, gross, and disgusting.
[ Where are you rn? Answer me. ]
Sent 9:46 AM.
His foot tapped against the floor at a rapid pace. Diluc wanted to question him, but the worried look on the ginger's face made him bite his tongue.
Childe wasn't the type of person to jump to conclusions, nor was he the type of person to get upset immediately over trivial things. But upon receiving an irksome reply from the amber-eyed bestfriend he knew and love, his blood began to boil.
[ None of your business. ]
Received 10:05 AM.

Cosmo’s TMNT Masterpost
(Rise, 2003, 2012, and others)
Here’s where you can find pretty much everything I’ve ever made for the TMNT fandom! Fanfics here[haven’t gotten the courage to post fanart here yet], hope you guys enjoy my work. Reblogs are appreciated!
Fanfics
1. Finding my way home(and moving forward)
Out of sheer curiosity, Leonardo and Donatello looked up, and there it was.
A portal.
Had the Universe really taken pity on them? Had it really heard his desperate prayers for one more chance?
It was not like the ones they had seen before, it was an irregular circle made up of several shades of blue, completely different from the perfect and symmetrical pink triangles of the Kraang.
Leonardo and Donatello looked into each other's eyes for a few moments, "Should we go in?" Donatello asked, almost shouting, drawing the attention of the others, who quickly turned to the portal and to see each other, then the two brothers in question.
"It's our best bet, and our only chance," replied Leonardo.
Or rather, with the 2012 kids' home gone, they end up in the Rise verse after a strange portal shows up. Therapy is needed, and start the slow process of healing from their trauma.
(Rise/2012, Work in Progress, written with @keeryd )
2. Strawberry Cookies:
"Mikey here was just about to tell me what we could do to cheer Raph up while he's sick," Donnie says. "Mikey continue?"
Now that Mikey had both of his older brothers attention, he grins. "I was thinking we make strawberry cookies!" He does his jazz hands as he says this and is met with looks of something that he can only put as disapproval. "What?"
"You do know that everytime that we have tried to make it-" Donnie starts.
"We mess it up and Raph has to come in and save our butts from burning the cookies?" Leo finishes, "What would be different this time?"
Mikey huffs, "We are doing this so we can cheer him up and to prove that we can do something on our own!" he says, "That's what got Raph sick in the first place!"
Or rather, Raph gets sick after helping his brothers recover from the poisoned pizza puffs. Mikey, Donnie, and Leo take a shot at baking cookies for Raph while trying not to burn their kitchen down.
(One shot, complete)
 3. Chicken Fried Rice:
“I only poured in half a pot of rice,” Donnie complained.
Mikey stared at him, really stared at him before he spoke. “You do realize that rice expands when cooked right?” he said, “You do realize that?”
Donnie was silent, looking away from Mikey.
“Donnie!”
Donnie makes chicken fried rice. Mikey watches over. Shenanigans and brotherly fluff ensue.
one shot in which Donnie is in the kitchen, cooking rice and Mikey, Mikey is positive he should have gotten Donnies braincell.
(One shot, complete)
 4. Tea Time with Hortense and Patty:
"Sooo," Raph starts. She's always been weird with awkward silences. "Are these grandma kinning hours?"
"Grandma hours!" Mikey exclaims excitedly. "Grandma time!!!"
"Ah, if it isn't our favorite girl and her little brother!" Hortense tilts her head over in their direction slightly. "Are you going to join us? We were just about done arguing," she says.
---
Today is Tea Time. Two old ladies have a tea party, one of them forgets to bring the food, and they are joined by Mikey and Raph. A good time is still had.
(One Shot, Complete)
5. One of those Days
When Donnie woke up this morning, he woke up with the familiar thrum of anger and irritation running through his body with more intensity than normal. Rubbing the crust out of the corners of his sleep-addled eyes, he jerkily grabbed his phone and turned off the alarm. It's one of Those Days, Donnie noted. Those Days where Donnie isn't capable of handling Mikey's over-enthusiastic optimism or Leon's chaotic trickster nature. His safest bet is to hang out with Raph, his calm and mellow demeanor always helped calm down before Donnie went on a rage fest and say anything he couldn't take back.
Or, Donnie and Raph help each other out, balance each other, and make things a little less difficult.
(One Shot, Complete)
 6. Gift Hunting:
“It’s Leo. Tiny Leo,” the voice answers. “I need your help with something.”
“What is it?”
“I can’t say until you say yes first,” Leo says. “It’s really important though.”
Angelo is silent, weighing his options. He could say no, he really could-
“Please, Angelo, you’re the only one who can really help me with this,” Leo pleads.
Rather, Angelo and Leonardo go out in the streets of New York to help the blue banded turtle find gifts for his brothers' sixteenth mutation day. Bonding and fluff ensues.
(One Shot, Complete)
 7. Aftermath:
“Raphie bear?” Mikey called out, gently tapping Raph, with relief washing him when Raph turned his head to face him. “What’s the matter teddy bear?”
“Th-thi-this doesn’t feel real.” Raph stuttered out, his voice cracking as a sob broke through. “I’m not really here. Neither are you and everyone else. I’m still alone with Draxum and his minions. No one’s coming to save me because I was stupid enough to get captured and no one wants such a worthless turtle like me.”
In which Raph was kidnapped and tortured by Baron Draxum and his family has to deal with the aftermath of it.
(One Shot, Complete)
 8. To Be the Eldest
Donnie, the second youngest in his family, wishes he was the eldest for once. Then one night, Donnie gets his wish granted and now he was three small turtles in his care.
Donnie adjusts to being the eldest, comes to some realizations, and makes a promise to his (now) younger brothers.
(Work In Progress)
 9. Wanted: Snaggletooth
Dr. Noel bent down on his knees in front of Raph, a manic smile that showed too many teeth coming about on his face speaking of pain and suffering that has yet to come. He stretched out his hand towards Raph’s face, placing a thumb under his mouth, pressing into his snaggletooth. “Beautiful. Just as I expected,” he crooned, pulling out a syringe and injecting it into Raph’s neck, pushing the contents of the syringe into his system.
Raph’s eyes fluttered as he started losing consciousness, watching through hooded eyes as Dr. Noel's smile grew even wider, with his last thought right as darkness consumed him being that he hoped his family would find him before it was too late.
Post S2 Finale, Dr. Noel remembers Raphael, his snaggletooth, and manages to find and capture the red masked turtle. It doesn't end well for Raphael.
(Work In Progress)
 10. Dimensional Differences:
They bow. Not like one of those pretentious bows like she would do at Yokai parties and not like the ones she would do with her brothers when they hosted tea parties. They bowed deeply, heads stopping at her stomach, one hand closing around their fists. This spoke of respect and honor.
And that unnerved her a little bit. Why are they bowing so deeply?
“Thank you,” they said in unison. It’s unnerving to April and she felt the uneasiness coming from her brothers too.
“Why are you thanking me?” She said finally, voice sounding foreign to her.
“You saved my life?” Baby Leo said slowly, voice tinged with confusion. “That was an honorable thing to do?”
April blinked, “It shouldn’t be considered honorable for doing what any big sister would do,” she said. “That’s not honor, that’s just being a good older sibling.”
In which April, Sunita, Casey, and the turtles end up in the 2012 verse after a mishap with Leo's ōdachi and stay with the 2012 turtles until they can go home. They find out a lot of things that don't quite jive with them. Some things are the same, some things are different and they're not quite sure how to handle those differences.
(Rise/2012, Work In Progress)
 11. Mind Meld Part Deux:
“Oh thank Galileo that you all are back to normal!”
“What do you mean we’re back to normal?” Raph questioned, pulling back from the hug. Mikey and Leo also pulled back to stare at Donnie. “We’ve-we’ve always been like this?”
Donnie went quiet. He shouldn’t have said that.
“Donnie, what did you do?”
The brothers found out about Donnie’s Mental Intelligence Reprogrammulator. Arguments are had, words are said, words that tear a rift between him and his family, and it’s up to Donnie to earn his brothers’ forgiveness. The only thing is, will he get it?
(Work In Progress)
 12. I'm a little kid and so are you(don't you go and grow up before I do):
The 2003 turtles somehow, someway ended up in the Rise verse, with Rise Splinter and his turtle tots, and stay with them while the boys try to figure out their way home. 2003 Raphael got attached to his tiny counterpart the moment he laid eyes on the tot. (Raph centric)
(Rise/2003, Work In Progress)
 13. Dimensional Self-Isolation
Post S2 Finale, Raph finds himself trapped in the 2012 universe and has a difficult time coping with all of the differences that this world has in store for him. From new villains, unfamiliar familiar faces, and the way the 2012 boys and Splinter treat each other and him, Raph has a heavy plate on his hands during his long term stay.
(Rise/2012, Work In Progress)
14. A Collection of Turtle Thoughts

Requests are open. SFW only though.

Where We Start Again -3
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Synopsis: how do you fake date someone you have real feelings for?
Series Masterlist and Regular Masterlist
Playlist by @tiny-friggin-human
Tumblr media
The first thing Peter heard when he entered your apartment was shouting. You looked disappointed as you locked the door behind you and put your keys in a bowl next to door.
“Sorry. That’s my dad.” You apologized. “He claims using his “lawyer voice” is the only way he can get clients to listen.”
“It’s fine.” Peter assured you. “As long as he doesn’t use that voice on me.”
“Not unless your skirt is too short or you got a grade below a 90.” You said through a tight smile as you dropped your backpack on a kitchen stool. He uncomfortably shouldered his, unsure of if he should do the same.
“You can put your bag down. Put it next to mine so they can talk.” You raised your eyebrows suggestively. Peter shook his head as he laughed at your dumb joke and put his backpack on the stool next to yours.
“What are the gonna talk about?” He played along and you thought about it.
“Yours is probably telling my backpack about how scared he is since he heard your last five bags disappeared.” You whispered dramatically and Peter scoffed.
“I just lose them a lot, okay? I can’t believe you noticed that.” He mumbled. He did lose his backpack a lot when he had to ditch it for Spider-Man duties, he just never thought you’d notice that he always had a different bag.
“Sometimes I see things when I’m not applying lipgloss or brushing my hair.” You said through a big, fake smile and Peter got the hint.
“I didn’t mean it like that.” He told you. “I know you do other things. Like paint, apparently.”
You looked at a small canvas hung on the wall together. It was a painting of squidward on a yellow background with your name at the bottom. You looked at it proudly and adjusted it so it wasn’t crooked.
“I hung that up there two years ago and my parents still haven’t noticed.” You laughed, but Peter didn’t find it very funny. “I think it’s kinda of pretty.”
“It’s lovely. You’ll have to make me one someday.” He said as he gazed at you. You seemed different now that you weren’t at school. You weren’t standing as straight and finally looked relaxed.
“You want me to paint a bunch of dicks on your ceiling?” You asked and he almost choked on his saliva.
“Why would you do that?” He asked in bewilderment.
“It was a Michelangelo joke, ciccino.” You said an unexpectedly authentic Italian accent.
“Oh. Um, pizza spaghetti spicy meatball to you too.” He muttered and you laughed loudly. He looked at you quizzically, never having heard you laugh like that before. It was never that loud or cheerful. You noticed his staring and covered your mouth in embarrassment.
“Sorry about that.” You said sheepishly and he shook his head.
“Don’t be.” He said softly. “It was nice to hear.”
“Come on. I’ll give you the rest of the tour.” You took Peters hand and lead him to a room at the end of the hall. “This is my bedroom. I’m sorry I don’t have Yoda on my sheets. I hope daisies will do.”
MJ’s words echoed in Peters mind when you didn’t let go of his hand. He blinked a few times as he looked around your room. He’d imagined what it might look like a few times, as he did with a most people. He was pretty sure Flash lived in a dirt hole outside of a SuperCuts. Whatever he imagined your room would look like, the reality was better. But as he looked closer, he noticed an absence of photos with friends or mementos from school. It was almost like your popularity started and ended on school property.
“Your sheets are fine. It’s smells like you in here.” He said without thinking. “Was that the creepiest thing I could’ve possibly said?”
“Nah. A boy in my Econ class told me he wanted to use my hair as a towel once. You’re gonna have to try harder to creep me out.” You let go of his hand and smoothed your skirt before sitting on your bed. Peter stood awkwardly near the door until he found the words to say. He didn’t want to take another step into your room at risk of ruining the wholesome atmosphere.
“Your hair looks soft and all, but I don’t think it’d be very absorbent.” He said finally and watched your face for a reaction.
“Right? Some people are so dumb.” You joked and he felt himself ease up. He took a few steps toward the center of your room and noticed a guitar leaning again your dresser.
“Do you play?” He asked curiously and you nodded. You got up and walked over to the guitar, fingering the strings as a soft melody played.
“A little. I can strum along time a few songs.” You told him. He joined you next to the guitar and touched the neck.
“Thats still something.” He assured you. “I didn’t know that about you.”
“Theres a lot you don’t know about me, Peter.” You quipped and stopped touching the strings.
“Good thing I love to learn.” He replied and you picked up the guitar.
“What’s your favorite song?” You asked and played him an energetic riff.
“You’re gonna laugh.” He hesitated to tell you.
“I would never laugh at you.” You promised.
“It’s Hey there Delilah. My mom used to sing it when she made dinner.” He admitted for the first time to another human being. He and Ned didn’t cover vulnerable topics, so he kept personal stuff to himself. It was hard to keep it in sometimes, but he never felt like he had another choice until now. I
“That’s a great song. She had good taste.” You said softly. You had heard about his parents passing from MJ when you asked her about the cute boy who sat at her lunch table a week earlier. You didn’t expect him to open about it so soon, but you were glad he did.
“Yeah, she did.” Peter agreed. He never expected to be talking about this with you, but it felt good to get off his chest.
“What was she like?” You wondered as you fingered the melody to Marry Me, Archie.
“Amazing. We used to do crossword puzzles together and she would finish hers before I read my second clue. And she always had something in the oven. It made the house really hot in the summer but my dad and I didn’t mind. We were happy as long as she was.” He reminisced. You listened intently to him as you played the song softly.
“What would she make?” You asked him.
“Pretty much everything.” He replied. “Her favorite was chocolate chip cookies. But from scratch, not a package.”
“Were they good?”
“They were so good.” He sighed happily. “She used to put extra chocolate chips on as the cooled down. I miss those cookies.”
You didn’t say anything but the silence wasn’t uncomfortable. He knew you were listening, and that’s all that mattered. His eyes wandered to your bookshelf which was bare of books except for one.
“Charlottes Web?” He raised an eyebrow as he picked up the book and flipped through it.
“It’s my favorite book.” You told him. He was leaning a lot about you just from being in your room.
“Could’ve fooled me. It looks brand new.” He held it up for you to see.
“I only read it one time. When I was younger.” You shrugged and put the guitar down.
“But it’s your favorite?” He wondered.
“The ending makes me sad. I remember the story and how it made me feel, and that makes it my favorite.” You half smiled. “I just can’t read it anymore because-“
“It makes you sad.” He understood. “That’s cute.”
“You’re cute.” You nodded your head at him and blew him a kiss, like you were cat calling him. He looked away bashfully and brushed it off. “I’m serious. I really like this color on you.”
“So I’ve been told.” He mumbled shyly. “Thank you for the candy, by the way.”
“Well I had to pay you back for the gogurt.” You teased. “Should we get going?”
“Going?” He furrowed his eyebrows.
“To the mall. For a dress. Like we agreed.” You said slowly and he remembered why he was at your house in the first place.
“Right.” He nodded curtly. “Let’s go.”
~
“How’s this?” You opened the dressing room curtain and stepped out in a short maroon dress. Peters eyes lit up at the sight of you until he realized something.
“Isn’t that the same dress you just had on?” He asked.
“No. That was burgundy. This is maroon.” You said like it was obvious and it went right over Peters head.
“You look great.” He complimented, and he meant it.
“You said that about the last three.” You whined and looked at yourself in the mirror. You adjusted the dress nervously and decided you hated it.
“Yeah, but you do this crazy thing where you’re super pretty and look good in everything, so.” Peter shrugged and you bit back a smile.
“Peter Parker with the flirtatious banter. We love to see it.” You winked, something he was coming to see you did a lot, and went back into the dressing room. You came out a minute later in a long white dress.
“What do you think about this one?” You asked for his opinion as you smoothed the dress down.
“Oh my God. You look like Princess Leia when she - I’m gonna stop talking now.” He interrupted himself before he said something uncool.
“You don’t have to hide who you are from me, Peter. If you want to make a Star Trek reference, I want to hear it.” You folded your arms and admired the dress in the mirror.
“Okay.” He obeyed. “And it’s Star Wars. Star Trek is different.”
“Oh. Which one has the bunnies playing basketball?” You pursed your lips as you looked over your shoulder at the dress.
“That’s Space Jam.” He couldn’t even hide his attitude. “That’s not even-“
He cut himself off when he noticed the playful smile on your face.
“You’re messing with me.” He realized and you nodded.
“You’re cute when you’re riled up.” You shrugged a shoulder and disappeared back into the dressing room.
“How’s this?” You reappeared in a little black dress. It had a sheer layer over the mini skirt that was short in the front and longer in the back. You looked beautiful, to say the least. Like the person who designed the dress made it with you in mind. Peters eyes slowly trailed down the dress and a smile tugged at his lips.
“You know the scene in Mean Girls when Aaron sees the picture of Cady as a little girl on top of an elephant and smiles? And like, that happy song with guitars plays in the background?” He asked you and you looked confused.
“I think so, yeah.” You shrugged.
“That’s how that dress makes me feel.” He confessed and you tilted your head.
“Like I’m a child riding an elephant?”
“Like I’m seeing you for the first time.” He replied. “The real you, anyway. Again, not trying to sound like a stalker, but I’ve looked at you a lot over the last four years. But this feels like the first time I’ve ever really looked at you. You look - - you look happy.”
“Do I not normally look happy?” You asked quietly, turning to look at your face in the mirror.
“You have a sadness to you.” Peter admitted and your head whipped to him. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be saying that.”
“No, it’s okay. No ones ever honest with me.” You were quiet for a moment following the confession. “What else do you see?”
“I see a really beautiful girl.” Peter answered honestly. He thought he was complimenting you, but you looked annoyed with the answer. He remembered what MJ said about you hating being watched and took that into consideration as he formulated his answer.
“I also see someone who’s smart and can solve a rubix cube in under a minute. I see someone who’s funny, but never at the expense of someone else. Someone who remembers your favorite candy and helps you glue a LEGO lamp together after school. And I see someone who would pretend to be my girlfriend to save me from a bully. That’s what I see.” Peter recited. You looked at him for a moment before taking a seat beside him. You looked like you were searching for the words to say, so Peter kept silent.
“We need to get you a tie to match my dress.” You said finally. You gave him a soft smile and took the hand that was gripping the arm of his chair. “Thank you.”
“For?” He wondered what he had done to warrant a thank you.
“For everything you said. No ones ever known me that well before. No one ever wanted to.” Your voice wavered and Peter thought he could see tears in your eyes.
“I’ve always wanted to.” He confessed. “And somehow, I’m getting the chance. I still worry that I’m gonna wake up and this will have all been a dream.”
“What?” Your expression changed from appreciative to annoyed too quickly for Peters liking. “Why?”
“Because girls like you don’t hang out with guys like me.” He shrugged like it was simply. You hastily got out of your chair and Peter feared he had said the wrong thing.
“Says who?” You asked sharply as you folded your arms. He was positive now he had said the wrong thing.
“Says everybody.” He said weakly.
“Fuck everybody.” You snapped and Peter jumped a little in his seat. “You are better company than anyone one of those sentient bratz dolls at my lunch table. I’ve had more fun with you these past two days than I have in four years with them. I don’t care what everybody says because I like hanging out with you. So I don’t want to hear anymore of this status talk. I’m just a person, Peter.”
“An extremely popular person. And your reputation would plummet if you were caught hanging out with an extremely unpopular person, like myself.” He tried to explain himself as he got out of his seat but it only made you angrier.
“Caught? Like I’m committing a crime just for being seen with you?” You laughed bitterly. “I don’t know who instilled in you that I’m some deity that no one can talk to, but it’s not true. I thought you understood that.” You said in disappointment before storming into the dressing room and swiping the curtain shut.
“Y/n- daisy wait. Wait.” He pressed himself against the doorframe and sighed. “I do understand that. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to put you on a pedestal like that. I know you’re just a person.”
He heard you sniffle behind the curtain and his heart broke when his worst fear had come to light.
He had made you cry.
“You don’t get it, Peter.” You said quietly through the curtain. “Everyone think I’m a stuck up snob or a perfect, plastic doll. And no one cares to get to know the truth. They just see what the want to see. I want them to see me the way you do.”
“Maybe they don’t deserve to see that. Daisy, you are this exceptionally phenomenal force of nature.” He promised as he tried to make amends. “You hold a power that their tiny minds could never understand. Forgive them. They’re slow.”
He smiled in relief when he heard a laugh from the other side of the curtain.
“Now that I have you laughing again, will you come out?” He pleaded.
“I’ll think about it.” You said after a beat of silence.
“For the record, I liked you from the first day of freshman year. Before you were popular.” He admitted to someone other than Ned for the first time.
“Didn’t my dad almost hit you with his car?” You asked as you opened the curtain just enough so he could see you.
“Yes.” He stuttered, surprised that his apology worked. “But I was jay walking so that’s on me. And as I waited for my heart to start beating again after nearly colliding with your dads Toyota Camry, I looked up and saw you crying.”
“I thought he killed you.” You defended your actions.
“But he didn’t.” Peter smiled easily. “And now we’re talking through a curtain because we’re fake dating and I can see your bra strap. What a wonderful world.”
You laughed loudly again, a laugh he was sure only he got to hear.
“Come in here.” You grabbed him by the shirt and tugged him into the dressing room. His knees weakened at the sight of you in just a bra and panties so he averted his eyes to the ceiling and counted to ten in his head.
“I don’t mean to worry you but I’m about to die, so do with that what you will.” Peter wheezed as he focused on the ceiling tiles.
“Relax. Just turn around.” You ordered and he obeyed. He turned around and tried to ignore the sounds of you getting dressed. “Okay. You can look now. You were saying?”
“I’m saying I liked you before you were the queen of Midtown Tech.” He repeated as he put his hands on your shoulders. “I liked you when you were just the girl who cried on the first day of school because her dad almost turned me into a skinny white boy pizza. I never thought I was gonna be good enough to talk to you. That’s why I’m worried I’m gonna wake up from this. Because it’s something I’ve wanted for so long.”
“You are good enough. You are so good enough.” You laughed sadly and stepped closer to him. “You’re the only one in this school who treats me like an actual person. I’m sorry I got defensive. It’s just because I’ve been wanting this for a long time too.”
“Tell you what.” Peter started. “You’re gonna buy that black dress and I’m gonna buy a tie to match. And I swear, I will never make you feel like this again. I never meant to make you cry, daisy. I’m so sorry.”
“Thank you for apologizing.” You said sincerely. “I don’t get those a lot.”
“Then you better start getting used to it because I make a lot of mistakes.” Peter joked and your body shook as you laughed.
“I look forward to what you can come up with.” You smiled softly.
“Come on. People are gonna think you’re jumping on my skeleton.” Peter said as he opened the curtain and walked out.
“Okay.” You followed him out. “Wait, what?”

Too tall part 2
Raph x tall! Fem! Reader
——-
So here we are again lol I liked writing it so here’s part two!
——-
“Yeah he was a douchebag.” You agreed, tapping the seat nervously. Sure you were glad to have conversation but it didn’t need to be any info dumping. Quickly, you turned the conversation back around to him. “You kept calling yourself a monster earlier. Do you guys get called that a lot?”
You could easily see the nervous expression on his face shift to something more... bitter.
“You could say that.” He grunted.
Immediately you felt bad. It makes sense that he’s get called that. To be honest, the word ran through your head when he and his brother fell from the roof. But to call someone that to their face? That’s cold.
You straightened up, desperate to fix what you’d said. “I personally don’t see it. Well, other than you guys breaking my phone that is.”
He looked up at you with a glare, only for it to melt slightly when he noticed the grin on your face.
“Who knows, maybe that perv was on his way back with a few friends and you guys dropping down was exactly what I needed to get rid of him.” You shrugged, watching his golden eyes intently. Sure you just met him but you needed him to have the right impression, even if you might not see him again.
“Maybe.” Was all he offered.
Well, maybe sitting in the quiet was better. Running your mouth might have the wrong effect.
“Got a pretty good punch.” He commented after a moment of silence. He wasn’t sure what else he should say but he didn’t exactly want the conversation to die... purely because it would be awkward. “You...uh... you box at all?”
You examined the hand he’d previously wrapped, grateful you weren’t the only one talking. “No just had to learn to beat up guys when they messed with my friends. I’d like to in the future though.” You cleared your throat nervously. “Do you? Do you box?”
He nodded. “Yeah, a bit.”
You nodded as well. “Very cool.”
The conversation began to dwindle again so he picked it back up.
“If ya’d like... I could show ya a few moves.” He immediately regretted offering the moment he spoke. He.... he couldn’t help it! What was wrong with him? You’d said a few words he’d never heard before! That was it! And... well, you also cracked a few jokes with him... denied him being a monster... hell you even apologized to him. Apologies weren’t things he got often. “If ya ever in need ‘a course.” He covered himself quickly. “Got lots a spare time an’ a punchin’ bag.”
You blinked in surprise. A giant, mutant, teenage turtle... was offering you boxing lessons?
Raph mentally kicked himself for saying that. “Neva’ mind ya probably got other places to be-.”
“I’d like that.” You sat up a bit. “It’s not everyday that I get offered a boxing lesson by a mutant hero.”
The term ‘mutant hero’ threw him off. He was used to ‘monster’ or simply being referred to as ‘giant turtle’. But ‘mutant hero’? That was a title he could get behind.
“Can’t have ya goin’ around breakin’ the skin on your knuckles again.” He clarified quickly, gaining a bit of confidence back. “An’ I noticed that ya had your thumb in your fist when ya hit the guy. Coulda broken it.”
You snorted. “Yeah I wasn’t exactly thinking about that when he attacked me.”
“Impressive though.” He commented. “Thought we’d have to jump in an’ save ya.”
“Instead you jumped in after I did all the hard work and broke my phone.” You raised an eyebrow jokingly.
He looked down in embarrassment. “Yeah you can blame Mikey for that. Dumbass wanted to make bets about how long it would take for you to take the guy down.”
You flushed a bit at the thought of them watching you take your rage out on the creep. “I don’t really know what to say to that.”
He nodded, not really knowing what to say either. He was new to the whole conversation thing. Usually Mikey or Leo carried the conversations.
“Well looks like you’re all good.” He leaned back once he finished wrapping your hands. “Guess you can get your phone and we’ll get outta your hair.”
You stood up, backing up a bit when he did to. Man he really towered over people. “Well, except when I come back for that boxing lesson.”
He was surprised to be honest. You really wanted to come back?
You pointed your finger at him jokingly. “I’m holding you to it. You offered and there’s no backing out now.”
“Yeah... sounds like a plan.”
——
It was a plan indeed.
In fact, it became the plan for almost every afternoon.
You brought over your homework to finish up (with Donnie insisting he could help), chatted a bit with Splinter (he loved having new company), finally got to the boxing lesson (your favorite part), and then played video games with Mikey to cool down.
You had to admit, you were nervous the first few times you came over. They were to. You, of course, cracked many nervous jokes and accidentally made far too many cookies on your first trip back. You were excited and scared! Food was then way to peoples hearts right? They seemed nice and this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to make out of the ordinary friends.
They’d definitely been surprised when you showed up with about 3 tons of chocolate chip cookies but they were teenagers; it was eaten within the hour.
In your opinion it helped you break the ice. It was hard enough to find things in common when they’re completely different species! Cookies had become the common ground.
Being different species wasn’t the only thing. They were HUGE! For once you were the shortest out of everyone in the room.
Well, until you met April.
She’d been talked up so much that you couldn’t wait to meet the girl that helped them save New York.
She barely went to your shoulder.
But you two got along. Sure she was an adult and it was a bit awkward that she was smaller than you, but you managed. In fact you even liked having someone smaller than you around when you were with them. It made you feel more... normal.
“I was a bit awkward the first time I came here to.” She admitted as you two sat on the couch. You two were supposed to be trying to figure out calculus but it was fruitless. “They’re just so... huge!”
You nodded as you erased your work. “Yeah, I’m used to being the tall one. But now it’s like I’m gonna get stepped on!”
“Well you’re pretty tall yourself.” She waved it off. “Does that ever give you any trouble?”
You set down you pencil with a sigh. “A bit. It’s... hard to find a guy that will like all 6 feet and 4 inches of me.”
April shook her head. “Psh. Men. What do they know.”
“Absolutely Nothing.” You grinned. “The only thing they know is that they like small girls.”
“Eh, I can think of a few guys that like tall girls.” She hinted slightly, disappointed when you didn’t seem to notice. “You’d just have to... branch out.”
You shrugged and leaned back on the couch. “I’ve tried that.”
“Maybe you just need a different... angle.” She held up her hands to fully frame your face. “Maybe there’s a reaaaaally tall guy out there for you. Someone who won’t care that you’re 6 foot 4 inches.”
You snorted, wrinkling your nose at her. “Yeah, let me know when a seven foot guy shows up in New York. Preferably, he has to be my age, and my type.”
Just then, Raph walked into the room. “Done chattin’ it up or are ya gonna go for another hour?”
You jumped. “What in the hot tater tots, dude!” You put your hand over your beating chest as if that would calm your heart down. “I get that you’re a ninja but come on! You’re gonna give me a heart attack showing up out of nowhere like that!
“Ya gonna box or what?” He rolled his eyes, mentally facepalming himself.
You weren’t like his brothers.
You weren’t even like him.
He had to be more careful. But he wouldn’t make it obvious of course. Stealth was clearly his thing.
You rolled your eyes right back at him, grateful that he was at a point where he felt he could joke with you. “Can you let my soul return to my body first?”
He frowned, unsure of what that meant. “Uhh... you okay?”
You jumped up off the couch, breath finally caught. “Alright I’m good. I’d rather get another lesson in then have to deal with calculus anymore.” You kicked your notebook a bit.
“You could... I don’t know... get Donnie to help ya with it?” He offered half heartedly.
You shook your head. “Nah, I’d rather do boxing with you.” You patted his arm as you passed him on your way to the training area. “Let’s go!”
His face flushed immediately.
Shit.
April raised an eyebrow from the couch. “Damn. You got it bad don’t you?”
Double shit.
He glared at her as the blush on his face grew hotter. “Shut up. Don’t know what the hell youre talkin’ about.”
She pursed her lips and tried not to laugh. “Of course. Just can’t help but notice that you never offered me any boxing lessons. Strange.”
He turned before he could get anymore embarrassed. “I don’t know what you’re on but you’re dead wrong.” And with that, he left.
———
“So these are your katanas?” You asked leo curiously, holding the weapons as gentle as possible. He’d let you look at them while you waited for Raph to show up. Never did you think he’d let you actually touch the blades.
He did, however, stand cautiously next to you. “Yeah, Master splinter gave them to me. Wanna see a few moves?”
You nodded eagerly. “Maybe when I’m actually good at boxing you can teach me some as well.”
You watched as he swing the blades with ease, talking you through each move and it’s purpose.
“Mikey, I’m NOT using my tech to fit every cheese and meat in the world into one pizza!” Donnie stated firmly, walking in with his younger brother right on his tail.
“Why not?” He begged. “It would be genius! We could offer it to the world! Give it our blessing!”
“The world wouldn’t take it from us.” Donnie rolled his eyes.
“Then we give it to Y/n in our honor!” He gestured to you. “She could give our gift to the world.”
“The world don’t want no gift of ours.” Raph commented, finally walking in.
You perked up immediately, altho you were unsure why.
“That’s why we label it as y/n’s” Mikey protested.
“I’m not gonna argue with you about this!” Donnie brushes past him and you.
“Then just say yes!” Mikey exclaimed, accidentally shouldering you.
Now these guys are pretty big. When they shoulder someone, they really move them out of the way.
And unfortunately, out of the way was closer to where Leo was practicing with his katanas.
“Shit!” You hissed quickly when you realized how close you were.
You’d have been chopped up into finely slice pieces if not for the arms that wrapped around you and moved you away quickly. Your feet left the floor before you could even realize what was going on. All you could feel was your back pressed against something solid and hands at your waist.
“Mikey watch where you’re goin’!” Raph shouted, setting you down gently.
“Sorry bro!” He called over his shoulder.
You took a deep breath and squeezed your eyes shut, trying not to stumble when your feet touched the floor. “Wow, that was a little too close for my liking.”
“Ya good there, short stuff?
At this, your eyes flew open. “Short stuff? Excuse me?”
He saw absolutely no problem with the name. “What?”
You placed your hands at your hips. “Never, in all my years, have I been called short stuff.”
He snorted. “Get used to it. Around here, you ARE short stuff.”
You narrowed your eyes at him as he prepared the boxing gloves. How was he so casual about this?? You were never talked to like that! “If I were in the human world, I’d be treated with respect because I tower over all the underlings.” You attempted to joke to cover up your surprise.
He found your reaction... amusing. You reacted better than he thought you would actually. “Well you’re the only underling here, SHORT STUFF.”
You tensed, so very very VERY unused to nicknames. “Come on, you can’t make an exception for human standards of height?”
You didn’t hate it, you just hated that it caught you off guard. Being off guard was the last thing you wanted.
“Nope.” He tossed you a pair of boxing gloves. “Now let’s get to it.”
———-
Why did that name make you feel so... giddy? You couldn’t help but play that scene over and over in your head as you sat at the lunch table with your friends. Was this how all your friends felt when they got called stuff like that? Was this what you’d been missing out on?
And you’d never been picked up before. Not like all the other girls in your grade had.
It was strange... and you liked it.
“Hey, again, I’m sorry about what happened.” Your friend apologized. “I know it’s been a month already but it’s clearly eating you up!” She took your hand understandingly. “I know that whenever this happens you lock yourself away but I’m here for you.”
You snapped back to the land of the living. “Oh! Actually... I’ve been fine!” It was almost like you hadn’t had time to be sad about what happened when that guy stood you up. Like other stuff took his place in your head.
She frowned at you. “Are you sure?”
You nodded, a smile creeping on to your face. “Positive.”
She gasped suddenly. “Oh my goodness. You met someone didn’t you?!” She shook your arm before you could answer. “Don’t deny it! Who are they? What’s their name??”
You shook her off. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” But your blushing face said otherwise.
“I don’t believe you.” She pursed her lips. “Can I just have a name? Does he go to our school?”
You snorted. “Dude, I don’t like him. He’s just a friend I’ve been talking to lately. He’s been giving me boxing lessons-.”
“Oh my goodness you two are basically married now.”
“Wait what?”
“Personal lessons? Girl he’s got it bad!”
Her words stuck with you the whole day. Even when you walked into the lair that afternoon. They spun in circles like a loop, playing over and over.
Psh you didn’t have feelings for Raph!
No way.
And he had a bad for you? No. No, your friend just misread the whole situation.
Just friends, as you’d been for the past month or so.
But the moment you walked in and saw him... you weren’t too sure.
He glanced up at you and then back at his phone. “Hey, you’re here early.”
You shrugged, setting your bag down. “Didn’t feel like heading home right away.”
“Donnies in his lab area if you’re gonna do more a’ that math shit.” He offered, eyes not leaving his phone screen.
“Actually I don’t have any homework today.” You started slowly. “And if you’re not busy...” you waited to see if he would catch on. You continued when he didn’t, “then could we skip ahead to the boxing?”
Now he looked up. “Really?”
“Yeah.”
He attempted to cover his reaction. “I mean, yeah I got time I guess.”
“Alright, then let’s get some water and get started?”
“Sounds good to me.”
Mikey, Leo, and master splinter were all in the kitchen.
“Hey didn’t hear ya come in!” Mikey grinned, patting your shoulder.
You jolted at the strength he put behind it, unready.
“Ay watch it.” Raph ordered, guiding you slightly away from Mikey.
It was just that he didn’t want Mikey to hit you too hard. Because... then you’d give up boxing too soon for the day. And then he’d have nothing else to do.
“It’s fine.” You waved him off, flushing a bit as you uncapped your water bottle. “Can I get through guys?”
Unfortunately Leo and Raph had started an arguement about the way Raph handled Mikeys action and now no one was really letting you get to the sink.
“Fine I’ll do it myself.” You tried to go around Raph, and succeeded. He backed away immediately when he saw that you had moved. But getting around Leo and Mikey? Not so successful.
With Leo’s strictness turned to Mikey, the two began arguing.
You tried to dodge them but Mikey took a step back.
“Oh my goodness your brothers aren’t making this easy.” You complained to Raph.
“Tell me about it.” He rolled his eyes. Suddenly.. he got an idea. “C’mon short stuff.” He grabbed you and set you on his shoulders so you wouldn’t get squished by one of his idiot brothers.
“Holy shit!” You squeaked suddenly. Now it was you that towered above everyone else. “Should I get used to you grabbing me randomly or is this only a temporary thing?” You held onto his shell as he shouldered past his brothers.
“Possibly.” He shrugged, “but it’s funnier if ya don’t.”
You hit his shoulder. “So you’re doing this for FUN??”
“That, and you gettin’ hit by Leo or Mikey would be an inconvenience.”
Wow where was all this joking coming from?
“Then I guess I gotta stop reacting.”
————
From then on it was a contest.
He would move you randomly out of the way and you’d do your best not to react.
You never did get used to it but he didn’t need to know that.
He never gave you any warnings either, which didn’t help.
You’d be standing in the tv area and he’d pick you up and move you out of his way, smirking while he walked by if he got a reaction.
You had fun with it though. It was fun... and you enjoyed having something like that in your friendship.
You flopped down on your couch after your hard day at school. Today you had no boxing lesson planned and only a few chapters to read. You WERE planning on relaxing by yourself but...
Mikey sent you a message.
Shreks_love_child: hey are you planning on coming over?
You frowned at it. Didn’t he know you had the day off?
You: I’m just going to relax at home today
Shreks_love_child: could you do that another day and come over? Raph’s in a mood
You: why would me coming over help anything? And why is he in a mood?
Shreks_love_child: no reason. He just doesn’t yell as much when you’re around
That wasn’t true... was it?
With a bit of thought, you responded back.
You: fine I’ll be there in a bit. But you better give me a better explanation when I get there. AND you owe me
“Mom I’m headed to my friends house!” You shouted, slipping on your shoes and heading out there door before she could make you do something like doing the dishes before you left.
You walked down the street, enjoying the scenery.
Why would Raph be in a mood?
And why would you being there make it better?
Well Mikey better have a good reason.
Just as you were about to come upon the sewer lid that lead you to their home, you recognized a person walking your way...
...the same guy that had stood you up.
His eyes widened when he seemed to recognize you to. “Hey, Y/n!” He shouted.
Nope.
Nope nope nope.
You began walking faster, turning the corner and heading towards the lid quickly. You had to act fast. You absolutely did NOT want to get caught face to face with him.
You lowered yourself and placed to too heavy lid over yourself as fast as possible, moments before he turned the corner.
You let out a sigh of relief.
Dumbass. Why has he wanted to talk? He made it clear how he felt and what he thought.
Whatever. You didn’t need to think about him now.
You could already hear the sound of shouting.
“Mikey I told ya not to touch it! It’s not finished and ya coulda broken it!”
You made your way down the ladder and through the tunnels quickly. From the sounds of it, Mikey was close to being murdered.
“I’m sorry! You left it on the counter dude! I didn’t know what it was!”
You rounded the next corner, coming face to face with two defensive turtle boys. Raph held a small object protectively in his hands and his brother backed away.
“That don’t mean ya gotta mess with it!”
“I already apologized bro!”
“Apologies are shit! Ya got pizza sauce all over it!”
You cleared your throat, letting yourself be known.
Both of them turned to you immediately.
Relief washed over mikeys face. “Hey! It’s y/n! Whatcha doin’ here angel cakes?” He rushed over quickly, practically standing behind you to protect himself from his older brother. “Today was your day off! Huh. Well now you’re here, right?”
You rolled your eyes at him, moving your attention to Raph.
His whole demeanor had changed. He no longer looked ready to kill. Instead he stood up straighter and held whatever the object was behind his back. “Why ya here?” He asked with a frown. “Today was the day off.”
You decided to not give Mikey an even harder time than he was having and not rat him out. “Thought maybe I’d just hang out with you guys if that’s okay?”
He nodded. “Yeah I’m cool with it.” He narrowed his eyes at Mikey as if he suspected what he’d done. Unfortunately he couldn’t hurt him in front of you so he turned his attention away from his younger brother.
“Cool cool.” You nodded as well. “Wanna watch a movie or something?” You leaned closer a bit to see what he had in his hands.
“Yeah, just let me go get my... my phone from my room.” He closed his fist over the object and moved aside.
“Whatcha hiding?” You raised a brow at him. “Candy?”
“Not hiding anything.”
You followed him to his room with a smirk. “If it’s candy you gotta share.”
“Nope. Not candy.” His face darkened as he grew embarrassed about the possibility of being caught before it was ready. “Just go wait on the couch.”
You rolled your eyes and held up your hands in surrender. “Fine. But I hope the shame of candy hoarding follows you forever.” You turned on your heel and walked to the couch.
Just as you sat down, your phone buzzed.
Hey, I just wanted to apologize for what happened. Are we good?
The absolute audacity. That guy ignored you for practically five months! And now he was apologizing? And he wasn’t even giving you a good reason??
You wrinkled your nose at the screen as if it were his face.
It was a stupid idea I just wasn’t ready for anything serious
You shut your phone off and tried to swallow the temptation of throwing it at the wall.
You know it’s rude to ignore people right?
The phone hit the brick wall with a thud.
It had an otter box case it was fine.
You took a deep breath and held your face in your hands, elbows resting on your knees.
“You good, short stuff?”
You groaned into your hands. “Just let me die.”
Raph frowned, unsure of what to say. One moment you were excited and bugging him. Now you looked like someone stole your dog.
“Somethin’ wrong?”
You sat up furiously. “Yeah this dipshit guy keeps texting me!” You paced the room, snatching up your phone as you went. “He stood me up the night I first met you guys and now he wants to talk?? And he’s calling me rude for not responding!” You shook your phone angrily. “Either I’m gonna die or he is!”
“The douchebag?” Raph attempted to clarify. “Ya still got his number?”
“I didn’t have time to delete it.” You admitted. “I got so caught up with you guys! And then he tried to talk to me on the way here!” You sat down beside him with a huff. “Fighting crime is your thing right? You think it’s justified if I run to his house and kill him? Would you stop me?”
“Wouldn’t try very hard.” He huffed. “He’s a dipshit. Don’t see what’s right in front a’ him.”
Crap out of room. To be continued!

Falling For You -Part 3
November
Tumblr media
Pairing- Eventual Dean x Female!Reader,
Word Count-3546
Warning- Fluff. Mention of serial killers. Still burning slow.
A/N- I had an idea for a one shot, and giving a little backstory to Dean and the Reader meeting took on a life of its own. We should hit the one shot part around chapter 20, oops?  This story is AU, and un beta’d.  Thank you @waywardbeanie and @whatareyousearchingfordean for helping me keep these 2 characters in line and letting me bounce ideas off of you.
Summary- After being burned before you had sworn off finding love for now. Coming home from work one night there is a strange man pounding on your door.  Neither of you knew what this meeting would lead to.
Series Masterlist
Do you ever notice how quickly time goes once October hits?  In a blink November is over and suddenly Christmas is here and then we are ringing in the new year.   You aren’t even sure you remember much of the first two weeks of November this year. You did remember you had been out helping Dean a number of nights.  Work was finally back under control , but you needed to get a list around to start on your Holiday baking for the first weekend of December, Thanksgiving was next week. It seemed like you couldn’t figure out which direction to go in.
Dean had gone to see a few houses and asked you to go with him for another opinion.  Both of you fell in love with the sixth house.  It was a two story single family home, you would have killed for the kitchen.  So much counter space for baking or cooking.  It only needed a few touch ups here or there, maybe some new paint in some of the rooms eventually, but it was move-in ready.  The previous owners already moved out of town and took all their belongings with them.  Dean had been working with a bank to be approved for a loan before finding the house, plus he had saved what he had when his house sold.  The closing was done by Friday the end of the second week.
Tumblr media
While Dean was busy finalizing paperwork on his house, you were at your desk on your lunch hour looking through pinterest for new cookie or bar ideas. A familiar voice sounded behind you.
“I’m back bitches!”  Turning around you saw the fiery redhead who was in charge of IT for the company.  Charlie used to work out of this office, but they had moved her to the new clinic that had opened an hour away for the last two months.
Tumblr media
“Things are running smoothly over there, two weeks without any problems, I get to come back to you guys now.”  She walked over to her familiar work area and tapped the Hermione figure sitting by her monitor and asked if she missed her.  “So what have I missed here?”  You and Monica filled her in, and introduced her to Anna when she came back.  The rest of the day passing fairly quickly.
Making a quick dinner that night you received a phone call from your mom.  Her older sister had fallen and hurt her hip.  She wasn’t going to be able to travel down for Thanksgiving, so your parents were going up there.  This way your mom could help her around the house and with the meal.  Your cousins were a bit lazy, they weren’t going to do it.  She asked if you wanted to go with them, and after thinking about it for a moment, told her not to worry about you.  Your aunt's house wasn’t very big, and some other family was going up also.  That was going to be too much close family togetherness for you.
Wiping down your counter you heard a tap at the door, slipping on shoes and grabbing your purse you headed out.  Jess and Dean were out in the hall waiting for you, the two of you offered to help Dean clean tonight before things were moved in tomorrow.  Sam was working a big case and stuck at work this evening.  The house was in good shape, it just needed a good pre move in clean.
“So Dean,” Jess started talking when you got in the car.  “Since you are going to have the most room, how about you host Thanksgiving next week?”
“What?”  He was a bit caught off guard by that.
“Your parents are coming up, so are mine, that’s seven of us in our apartment trying to cook a big dinner, you have a huge new kitchen and a dining room.”
“One, do you really trust me to make Thanksgiving dinner?”
“I didn’t say you had to make it all, we’ll help, you just have the space to have it at.”
Sitting at a red light Dean closed his eyes and let out a sigh, “If we can have the house usable by Tuesday, fine.”
“Good, Sam also told your parents they were staying at your house.”  Rolling his eyes Dean knew it was pointless to respond.  Jess turned in her seat to see you in the back, “What are you doing for Thanksgiving, Y/N?”
“Usually we go to my grandparents, but my mom called tonight and my aunt got hurt so they are all going up to her house.  I’m just going to hang out at home, watch the parade, and be lazy.”
“Apparently I’m hosting Thanksgiving, come join us.”  Dean offered, glancing at you in the back.
“I appreciate the offer, but I don’t want to intrude.”
“You won’t be, Sam already did that when he has people staying at my house that I’m not even living in yet, without telling me.”
“Okay, if you are sure, thanks.  Just let me know what I can bring.”
“Pie, lots of pie,”
Tumblr media
Dean had already taken cleaning supplies over to the house and the three of you decided to divide and conquer.  You took the kitchen and dining room, Jess and Dean split up the two upstairs bathrooms and the master bedroom and one of the guest rooms. Whoever finishes first would start in the living room.  These rooms would be used for his parents' visit and Thanksgiving, the other rooms would be tackled if there was time.  Walls, windows, doors all scrubbed down, floors vacuumed and mopped, kitchen cupboards all wiped out.  It took you guys a few hours and everyone was beat when you headed back to the apartment building.  Sam and Dean were renting a uhaul in the morning to get Dean’s stuff from storage, you made plans to ride over with Jess to help unpack.
Back in your apartment you looked to see what you could whip up to take with you for breakfast.  Normal cinnamon rolls would take too long, and you didn’t have the energy, but cinnamon biscuits were doable.  You made a double batch, and prepped the icing.  Figuring you would warm them in the morning and top them then.
Dressed in a comfy old t-shirt and worn jeans sweatshirt sitting with the biscuits,  you were ready when Jess came to get you.  “Oh my, what is that smell?”
“I figured we would be working up an appetite today, so I brought breakfast rolls. Do you want one for the road?”
“Uh, yes please.”  Both of you laughing, she grabbed one out of the container while waiting for the elevator.
“Yep, Dean’s right.  Girl you can bake.”
The guys pulled up with the uhaul just as you were getting out of the car.  “Ready to start,” she asked.
“Not really, you?”
“I wish I was back in bed.”
“What are you two laughing at?” Sam inquired leaning down to give Jess a quick kiss.
“Just wishful dreams,” she told him.
Dean unlocked the house while Sam opened the truck.  They let you and Jess take some boxes, while they moved some of the furniture that came on this load.  Thankfully Dean had somewhat labeled the boxes as he packed so you knew where to drop what.  His labels gave you an idea on what was important to the man: kitchen crap, bathroom junk, living room stuff, bed things, other room bed things, you just didn’t know what was in each of those boxes, but clearly knew what was in the VINYLS, TOOLS, and MOVIES boxes.
Dean had kept most of the furniture from his old place, but did have a few new things coming.  Such as a master bedroom set, and new couch and dining room table. Those were going to be delivered Tuesday.  Jess told you he didn’t want things that reminded him of Lisa, so he sold anything that did when he moved.
Cas came over to help in the early afternoon, bring some pizzas as an apology for missing the morning work.  The biscuits you made long gone.  Things were coming along nicely, Dean wasn’t super picky on where things went right now.  Dean gave you the job on organizing the kitchen, he said you would know best.  His only request being the coffee items were close to each other and easy to get too.  He would figure out where you put anything else later.  Placing his old coffee maker next to the plug between the sink and refrigerator, the glasses and mugs in the cabinet next to the sink and and coffee and filters above the machine.
Jess was helping Sam set up the guest bedroom and washing the sheets for that room and Dean’s once his bed arrives.  Cas and Dean ran the wires for his tv and speakers for his record player.  Dean deemed those two things most important.  Everything was out of storage and into the house Saturday evening, put away was another story.  You offered to help on Sunday, but Dean said he wasn’t going to work on it then, taking one day of the weekend not to work and unwind a little.  He still had a few things at Sam and Jess’ place to get packed up at some point.
Thanksgiving week was always a nice work week since you were only open 3 days.  Monday and Tuesday evening you had helped at Dean’s and it was ready for Thanksgiving, his parents were arriving sometime Wednesday.
When you left his place Tuesday night you headed home alone.  Dean was all moved in, he was out of the apartment across the hall.  It made you kinda sad to think about.  It’s going to be weird not running into him in the hall, or have him randomly come over when he was giving his brother some space.
You opted for staying home Wednesday night instead of hitting the bar with Charlie and her friends, and decided to get the pies made.  You went with two traditional pumpkin, and one apple since Dean liked the last one so much.  When you were at the store you also picked up the ingredients to make a strawberry pretzel jello.
Thursday morning you watched the parade in comfy pj’s on your couch with a glass of hot chocolate.  Unlike Dean coffee wasn’t your thing.  But with the chilly weather you liked something hot in the mornings. When it was warmer you would enjoy your weekend morning drinks on your balcony.
Tumblr media
Dinner was supposed to be at two, but you headed over before noon to help with the preparations.  You put on leggings and a long sweater, Jess had told you it was more about comfort than fashion today.
It was your turn to knock on Dean’s door for once, a pretty blonde woman answering the door.  She had a big smile on her face that turned to surprise when she saw you.
“Hello, can I help you?”
“Hi, I’m Y/N.  Dean and Jess invited me, I came over early to help with dinner.”
“Hey Y/N!”  Dean came up behind her with a big smile on his face.  “Come on in.”
“Hi Dean, I came to help, brought pies, pumpkin, apple, and a jello”
“You don’t have to help,” he said while ushering you inside, “you did that enough with moving this week.  Y/N this is my mom Mary, mom this is Y/N.  She actually lives in the apartment across from Sam.”
“Nice to meet you dear.  I’m sorry, I was expecting Sam at the door, I didn’t know anyone else was coming.”
Getting to the kitchen Dean opened up the pies and you saw him hide one of them in the cupboard.  Shaking your head, you look around at the food out on the counters.
“What kind of jello is this?”  Dean asked looking at the cake pan you set down.
“It’s a pretzel strawberry jello or some people call it a salad.  I didn’t think you would be too fond of that term though.”
Dean looked at you before looking back down, “Pretzel jello?  I see the jello and strawberries, and something solid under that but it doesn’t look like pretzels.  Where’s the salad part? What are you trying to feed me sweetheart?”
Rolling your eyes and shaking your head “There isn’t actual lettuce in it Dean, this time salad is referring to a side.  The solid layer is cream cheese cool whip mix, the Pretzel is the baked crust.  It’s a combination of salty and sweet.  Just try a bite, I’m not trying to sneak anything past you.  I promise it won't hurt you as much as Sam's veggie bacon.”
Dean's face grew serious, “I thought we agreed that we don't speak of that fraud, it's not bacon. I need actual meat.”
Tumblr media
Laughing you pat his back, “I know, I'm sorry. Now you have your own kitchen to cook real bacon.”
“Yeah or I could come to yours and let you do the work.”  He said with a smile your way
“You are always welcome at my place.”
“Now that we are done discussing the jello, what do you need me to do?”
“Y/N, seriously you don’t have to help.”
“I want to, I like cooking almost as much as baking.”
Dean moved over to the list of food Jess had made up the other day, “Turkey is stuffed and in the oven, potatoes are boiling,  the corncake hasn’t been started yet, neither has the salad, rolls are just waiting to bake.”
“Well Sam wanted the salad so he can do that, I’ll get the corncake going and in the oven.”
Sam, Jess, and her parents arrived a short time later.  The guys all ended up in the living room watching football and left you four ladies in the kitchen.  Mary started to ask Dean where his mixer was, but he told her to talk to you since you organized the kitchen.  While working on last minute touches Mary turned and looked at you.
“How long have you and Dean been dating?”
Jess started laughing while you stuttered out an answer, “Oh, uh no we, we aren’t, we’re just friends.”
“They are both in denial about having any feelings for each other.”
“Jess!  There are no feelings to be in denial about, we’re just friends, that’s it.”
“I’ll let you know when they catch up with what the rest of us know, Mary.” You turned back to setting the table shaking your head at her.
Dinner was great, and the conversation was even better.  Dean’s dad was a little intimidating at first, but grew on you as the meal progressed.  Dean sat next to you and before he took a bite of his jello he picked up the bowl and looked it over and made you promise him he wouldn’t regret it.  He took his time chewing, bobbing his head around while you awaited the final verdict.
Tumblr media
“It’s actually pretty good.” You just gave him a little nod, holding back your laugh at his behavior before going back to your own food.
The guys migrated back to the television after a while, and the four of you cleaned up.  Dean came in a few times, but you sent him back out.  When the first game ended the men came back for dessert.   Jess brought out pumpkin bread and apple crisp her and her mom made and Dean carried the pies over.
“Y/N made pumpkin pie,”  Dean told the others.
Leaning over to whisper in his ear, “You keeping the apple for yourself?”
Giving you a little grin he nodded,  “You know it sweetheart.”  Laughing you didn’t notice Mary watching your exchange across the table.
Looking through the ads with Jess you made plans to go out with her and her mom the next morning.  Mary was watching the two of you, and you asked if she wanted to join. Jess quickly looked up and told Mary how much fun it would be if the four of you went together.
Sam tried to talk everyone into playing a new game he picked up. When he finally got everyone, even Dean to agree to join he went out to the car to retrieve it.  Coming back in empty handed swearing he put it in the car, but unable to find it.  He went looking through some of Dean’s things for the deck of cards he swore he didn’t have striking out again.  Dean told him if he wanted to play games he needed to host Thanksgiving and went back to watching the football game.  Jess was sitting beside you unusually quiet the whole time.
“Did you know he forgot the game?” You whispered to her.
“He didn’t forget it, who do you think took it out of the car?”  Quickly covering your laugh with a cough she continued. “It was a trivia game about serial killers that used a courtroom type setup.  The box said something about cross examining, objecting and redirecting.  It seriously wasn’t happening, I get enough lawyer talk at home.”
At five am the next morning you decided Jess had too much energy.  She had you leaving the apartment building by 3:30, then picked up Mary before hitting the mall.  You drove the 40 minutes to Ann Arbor because Jess wanted to go to the bigger mall.  Luckily the temperature was in the high 30’s this morning and you didn’t have to wait outside long.  There are years you have stood outside in the snow waiting to get in a store.
You had a few things on your list, but no clue for some people.  You weren't great at coming up with gifts, especially at this hour. You walked past one store front before stopping abruptly, and Jess walked into your back.
“Sorry, I wasn't thinking.  I’m going to run in here real quick, I’ll catch up with you guys in a minute.”  The display in the window made you think of Dean and you went into get him a house warming present.
Stopping in the food court for a break later, Mary had a question for you, “Call me crazy, but didn’t you say something about apple pie yesterday when you arrived?”
You started laughing, “ I did, Dean apparently hid it when he took it to the kitchen.  He had some last time I made one and decided he didn’t want to share this one.”
Mary was talking to you more about Dean.  “He seems so much happier now than when he left.  He was in a dark place for a while, that girl hurt him bad.  I ran into her in town, and she had the nerve to talk to me like everything was fine.  I gave her a piece of my mind and John had to pull me away.”  She paused for a minute before continuing, “Dean has mentioned hanging out with a new friend a number of times I’ve talked to him.  I think that person has made a big difference in his happiness, and I hope they stick around for a long time.”
You weren’t really sure what to say, you gave her a little smile, and told her Dean was an amazing guy who didn’t deserve to be treated like he had been.
After running errands on Saturday you stopped over at Dean’s.  He was surprised to see you at the door and invited you into the living room where he was talking with his parents.
“Oh, I’m sorry to interrupt, I just wanted to drop something off.”
“You’re fine sweetie, you aren’t interrupting anything.  We were just chit chatting, but we should actually start to get some of our things around.  We fly out tomorrow morning.  John, we should go pick up the room, and pack what we don’t need tonight.”
“I did that earlier.’
“Well you should double check it, just in case.  You two talk, we’ll be back later.”  Pushing John out of the room they headed upstairs.
“I didn’t mean to chase them away, I just wanted to drop off your house warming gift.”
“Thank you, you really didn’t have to get me anything.  Your help was a huge present,”  Dean told you, taking the wrapped box out of your hands.
“I wanted to, just open it.”
“Oh Sweetheart, she is a beauty.”  You had gotten him a new Keurig coffee maker, this one could make a whole pot, or a single pod.  He mentioned he had been fighting with his old one, and you knew how important coffee was to him, especially in the morning.
“This way, you can make yourself a single cup if you just can’t wait for the whole pot to finish, or if you want one later.”
“This is great, thanks Y/N.  You did well, especially for a non-coffee drinker,”  he finished with a teasing grin.
“I should get going, let you enjoy your last night with your parents.”
“You don’t have to, Sam and Jess should be over soon, her parents left today.”
“Thanks, but I don’t want to interfere with family time.  Tell your parents it was nice meeting them, I hope they have a safe trip back.  I’ll see you around Dean.”

Begin Again
Summary: Walter Marshall is a dedicated homicide detective doing his best to balance his work life with being a single father to a teenage girl. Fiona Sparks is a woman doing her best to take care of everyone and everything around her, except for herself. Neither has had the best luck with relationships, but once they meet, they’re willing to give it another shot, this time with each other. (It’s basically just romantic fluff)
Pairing: Marshall and OFC.
Rating: PG
Warnings: Mentions of death, cancer.
A/N - This is a sequel to ‘All I’ve Ever Known’. I started writing this because I needed an escape for some personal stuff going on and my coping mechanism included giving Marshall all the love that man needed, and imagining him being the softest boyfriend to me, then passing those details on to Fiona (my OFC).
I also made a Spotify playlist for this story, if anyone is interested - Begin Again Playlist

Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Chapter 6, Chapter 7
The last Wednesday in October was a gray, misty, windy day. It was cold, the kind you felt more in your bones than anywhere else, with the sky occasionally spitting out sleet. I spent the entire twenty-minute drive to my job at Waverly Catering clutching the steering wheel so tightly that my hands were cramping by the time I arrived from white-knuckling it the whole way there. Usually, I would get to work early enough to enjoy the silence and finish off my coffee before officially starting my workday. That day, however, I spent the very little extra time I had trying to get my hands to stop hurting, then chugged down my coffee that had cooled dramatically to a gross lukewarm temperature.
Before going in, I checked my phone. I always kept it on silent while I drove. My mom had a tendency to text me, make a dozen spelling mistakes because of auto-correct, then correct them one by one, leaving me with about thirteen separate texts to read. It didn’t use to bother me, I thought it was charming and very distinctly Mom. But when she’d gotten sick at the beginning of the year, every text she sent that I couldn’t read immediately made me panic, worrying that something terrible had happened to her, even when I’d just seen her at home a few minutes before. So for my sanity - and hers - I started putting my phone on silent until I got to work, or wherever else I was going. It was a habit I’d kept even after she’d gone into remission because her cancer may have been gone, but my anxiety over her wasn’t.
That morning when I checked my phone, I saw that I had two texts, but they weren’t from Mom.
Marshall:  Good morning, Fi. I hope that I get to see you today. I’ll be chained to  my desk with paperwork for a while. This is the first time I’ve not dreaded it. You’re my silver lining.
That was cheesy. I’m sorry. I’m bad at this.
And just like that, all of my stress melted away. The weather didn’t matter, my disappointing coffee didn’t matter, even the cramping in my hands didn’t matter. All that did matter was that Walter Marshall thought of me as his silver lining. Yes it was early days, yes we’d barely known each other a month, yes we’d only gone on two dates, but he made me happier than I’d been in a long time. I felt like I’d been holding my breath for two years, starting when my dad had died in a car crash, followed by my boyfriend Ezra breaking up with me, then losing my job as an interior designer, and capping off with my mom’s cancer diagnoses. Then Walter came along and it was like I could finally breathe again.
Me:  Please don’t apologize. You have no idea how much I needed to read that this morning. Feel free to be as  cheesy as you want. And I hope I get to see you today, too, even if it  means you’re chained to your desk.
Marshall:  If I don’t see you for some reason,  can I call you tonight? I miss your  voice and you make me want to get better at this talking thing.
I could feel myself blushing. Even over the phone he made me feel like a teenager with a crush. I had no idea that anyone could make me feel that way as an adult, but he did every time he texted me.
Me:  Of course you can. Even if we do see  each other, you can still call, if you want? Practice makes perfect, and all that.
Marshall: I’d like that. Talk to you soon.
I sat back in my seat with a sigh as I looked out at the sleet falling from the gray sky, spattering my windshield, blurring out the image of the trees in the park across from me blowing and bending in the wind.
It was going to be a good day.
Tumblr media
“You look...dare I say it? Happy?” Darcy said as I walked into her office.
I smiled. “You may dare to say it because yes, I am quite happy.”
“And what brings you to such an extreme emotion so early on such a disgusting day?”
I went to her desk and sat in the chair opposite her. “Well, for one, I know that you’re about to do me a big favor that I will forever be grateful for.”
“Fiona Sparks asking for a favor? I’ll mark the day in my calendar,” she joked. “What kind of favor do you need?”
“I need a copy of the peanut butter cookie recipe.”
“For what purpose?”
“See, that’s where the happiness part comes into play and you, being one of my dearest friends, would love to see me happy.”
“I would but I’m unsure how a cookie recipe is going to do that.”
“It’s not for me,” I said, smiling wide. “I met this guy -”
“What? Who?” she asked enthusiastically, her eyes wide with excitement.
“His name is Walter Marshall. He’s our detective who never changes his lunch order.”
“You’re dating one of the homicide detectives? You can feel free to thank me later for giving you that order, by the way. But right now I want details: How long have you been dating and why am I just now finding out about it?”
“We’re not technically dating. I met him a few weeks ago for the first time and we went on two dates last week.”
“You haven’t dated anyone in over two years, and then you go on two dates in one week?”
“Well, the first was just a coffee date. Saturday we tried having a proper one.”
“Tried?” she asked, raising her eyebrow.
“He wanted to take me to dinner, so we went to an Italian place, but before we could order, his daughter called. She was supposed to be at a Halloween party, but some of her friends had lied to her, I guess, and it ended up being a basement party with slightly older boys and she felt uncomfortable, so we went and picked her up. Then we all went for pizza together.”
“He has a daughter, which is some heavy baggage to begin with, but you met her on your second date? That’s a lot, Fiona.”
“I know it seems like it, but it’s really not. She’s a good kid. And he’s an amazing father, which, oddly, just makes him more attractive,” I said. “But that’s not the point. The point is that his daughter was, understandably, a little iffy about me being with him when he picked her up until she found out that I’m the one who brings the cookies. She apparently loves them and I told her that I might be able to get her a copy of the recipe and that seemed to pave the way for her not hating me instantly. And she’s thirteen, so that’s a pretty big deal.”
“I have so many questions right now but I can’t sort them all out so I’m going to be annoying you with them all day, just be prepared for that. All I want to know right now is if you want the recipe laminated or not?”
I let out a relieved breath. “Yes, please, if you don’t mind. And thank you so much, Darcy. You have no idea how much this means to me.”
“I do know. You never ask for anything, even simple things, so the fact that you’re willing to ask me for a favor means this is a pretty big deal,” she said. “He must be a good guy.”
I nodded. “He really is.”
Tumblr media
I arrived at the police station that morning a little before eleven. I’d left the shop early, worried the weather might get bad again and didn’t want to be late for my delivery. Thankfully the sleeting had stopped, allowing me to get there a few minutes early. A few minutes that I used up trying to pull my dolly through the parking lot. The lot had been salted, which was good in that at least it wasn’t icy, but the wheels on my dolly didn’t seem to like the brine mixture. They kept locking up on me. Between that and having to fight against the roaring wind, it took me an embarrassingly long time to reach the station door. Before I could push it open, someone opened it from the inside for me. I looked up, expecting to see Officer Bates. He was the security officer that was posted downstairs and always went through the containers full of lunches that I brought to the homicide unit every week. Instead, I saw Marshall.
“Hello,” he said with a smile.
I immediately felt like giggling. The last time I’d seen him, we’d kissed. And seeing him right then, seeing his beautiful, handsome face, I wanted so badly to kiss him again. Instead, I felt myself grow shy as I blushed so fiercely that my cheeks stung with the new heat that rushed to them.
“Hi,” I said. He pulled the door open all the way, then stepped back, allowing me to walk in. My stomach fluttered as I looked back at him. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” He closed the door behind me. “May I help you with your cart?”
“No, it’s okay.”
“Would you let me help you take it back to your car when you leave, at least?”
I fought every instinct inside of me that insisted I say no. Darcy was right: I hated asking for even simple things. I never wanted to burden anyone. But since I’d met Marshall, I’d learned that his way of showing interest or affection was to do things for me. But he always asked first, wanting my permission. It challenged me, but in a good way. I didn’t need to always go it alone if I didn’t have to.
“Um, yeah, I’d appreciate that. Thank you,” I said. “The wheels didn’t seem to agree with the salted parking lot. You could probably pull it a lot easier than me.”
Marshall stayed with me as Officer Bates went through the containers I’d brought in. He wasn’t close enough to make anyone passing by question it, but it was close enough that my hand hanging at my side could feel the heat coming from his hand and forearm, that was visible from the blue henley that was pushed up to his elbows in a way that I found incredibly attractive. My fingers itched to seek out his, but I fought it. Keeping them obediently beside me. Once Officer Bates was done and gave me the all clear to take the food up, Walter walked me to the elevator and pressed the button to call it down. Then he held the door back, letting me in first before following me. After the door slid closed, he fell back half a step, putting him right beside me. His hand bumped mine, his fingers snaking through, gently holding mine. I smiled, knowing I wasn’t the only one itching for contact.
I turned without a thought and placed a kiss on his shoulder. Then I paused, a moment of panic rising in me that maybe we weren’t at that level yet. But before I could move or feel too worried, he placed a kiss on the top of my head.
“I keep thinking about Saturday,” he whispered.
“Me, too,” I said. I looked up at him. “It was...pretty amazing.”
He smiled. I could see his sharp canine teeth. They were oddly charming. “Yes, it was.” He laced his fingers with mine more securely, properly holding it. “I know I mentioned calling you tonight, but I hoped that we might have dinner again instead. If you’re not busy?”
“I’m exceptionally not busy tonight.”
“Good.” He pressed a kiss to my forehead before turning his head back to face the elevator door. “I won’t be able to finish all my paperwork today, there’s too much and it keeps multiplying like rabbits, so since I have to do it tomorrow anyway, I’m going to knock off here around five. Could I pick you up after that? Around five-thirty, perhaps?”
I nodded, smiling. “That sounds great.”
The elevator dinged as we reached the homicide unit floor. He gave my hand a couple of gentle squeezes before letting it go as the door slid open. He stepped out, then held the door for me like he had before, letting me pull my cart out. He walked with me almost all the way to the break room before a shorter man with glasses stopped him.
“Lieutenant Marshall, can I speak with you in your office for a moment?” he asked.
“Of course.” Walter touched my shoulder. “Excuse me,” he said to me quietly before leaving for his office.
I continued on and was met by most of the detectives waiting for me. Like usual, they didn’t talk to me much, just thanking me for the food before taking their box and going. I took my time, hoping that by the time that I was done, the man speaking with Walter would be gone before I brought him his lunch. When I was done, I packed up my cart before taking Marshall’s boxed lunch and walked down the hall, finding the door to his office open. I could hear him talking still and wasn’t sure what to do. I’d made a deal with him a few weeks back to always bring his lunch to his office whenever I delivered - the first time was because a uniformed officer looked like he was going to swipe it, after that, it was to thank him for rescuing me from a pushy creep while I was with my ‘friends’. We’d never discussed if I should interrupt while he was working. I chewed my lip, debating what to do for several seconds before deciding to just take a chance and knock on the door frame. The worst case scenario was that I looked like a very dedicated delivery woman making sure that all of my orders reached their proper owners.
“Yep. Come in,” Walter called out in response to my knocking.
I entered his office only far enough to be seen and not a step further. I didn’t know if Marshall wanted people to know about us, so I was prepared to make a quick exit if I needed to. “I have a delivery for Detective Marshall,” I said.
He looked at me and smiled, then waved me in further. “Harper, this is Fiona Sparks. Fiona, this is Commissioner Harper.”
“Hi. It’s nice to meet you, sir,” I said.
“You, too.” He looked at me over the top of his glasses. “You don’t happen to be related to Rodger Sparks, by any chance?”
I felt speechless for a moment. I hadn’t heard anyone other than Mom say Dad’s name in months. Finally, I forced myself to nod. “Yes. He was my dad. How - how did you know?”
“We went to college together. You’re the spitting image of him,” he said. “I was sorry to hear about him passing away. I lost my wife around two years ago as well. A brain aneurysm.” He shook his head. “It doesn’t get any easier.”
“No, it doesn’t,” I agreed.
He looked at me for a moment longer, then back to Marshall, who was standing patiently with his hands clasped behind his back. He looked back at me briefly before taking the folder he was holding and tapped it against Marshall’s shoulder. “You know what? This can wait until tomorrow,” he said. “I’ll bring it by in the morning.” He left Walter and stopped beside me before leaving the office. “I’m very sorry about your father. Rodger was a horrible sport when he lost at cards, but other than that, he was a great guy. And probably the smartest man I ever met.”
I smiled slightly. “He was a horrible sport at cards.”
He smiled back. “The worst.” He gave me a wink. “It was a pleasure seeing you.”
“You, too.”
When he left, he closed the door behind him. I looked at Marshall as he walked towards me. “Did I interrupt something important?” I asked.
“No. He was just asking about a cold case.”
“I wasn’t sure if you wanted me to come in since he was here. Next time, if you’re talking to someone, would you rather I left your lunch in the break room?”
He stopped in front of me. He was so close. He smelled like coffee and Old Spice. I swallowed thickly, trying to meet his gaze as he looked down at me. He shook his head, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “No. I’d still like you to bring it to me, please. If that’s alright?”
“Yeah, of course. I just don’t want to get in the way of your job.”
“You won’t,” he said. “But I’ve let my job get in the way of other things for too long, so maybe it’s time someone got in the way of it for a bit.”
“You have an important job, though. If you were a boat salesman, I might feel a little differently about disrupting your work.”
His smile grew as he tilted his head at me. “A boat salesman?”
“I mean a job where it wouldn’t really matter all that much if you were distracted every once in a while. If someone doesn’t sell a boat, it’s not that big of a deal. But if you don’t solve a murder case...that has very real repercussions. I wouldn’t want to be a reason for something slipping by in a case.”
He put his hand on my cheek, directing my eyes back to his. “That won’t happen,” he said. “I take my job seriously. That’s never been a problem for me. My problem has always been figuring out how to balance it with the rest of my life, which I never could, and I neglected a lot of people because of it. Especially Faye.” He shook his head. “I’m still not good at it. But I had a case back in the winter that...put Faye’s safety in jeopardy, among other things, and it made me realize that I need to put more of an effort in my life outside of this job. Despite how hard that is for me.” He stroked my cheek with his thumb. “You motivate me to slow down a bit. And that’s a good thing.”
I took my free hand and placed it over his, then turned my face slightly and placed a kiss on the inside of his wrist. “I would be happy to slow down with you,” I whispered.
Marshall had a smile that somehow showed in his eyes more than his mouth, and that’s how he was looking at me right then. “I’d like that.”
A knock on the door startled me. I took a step back, his hand falling from my cheek. He then ran it over his face, almost like he was trying to scrub the irritation of being interrupted off it. Then he folded his arms across his chest before calling out for whoever it was to come in.
The door opened and a man stepped up to the doorway. He was wearing plain clothes like Walter, so I assumed he was a detective, too. He all but ignored me as he and Walter spoke. Half of what they said was in a jargon I didn’t understand, so I just stood there, head down, waiting. After a few minutes, the guy left, only halfway closing the door as he did. When Marshall finally turned back to me, I could see that he was frustrated. I knew he wouldn’t admit it, but me being at his work right then was only going to cause more irritation with every interruption we had.
“As much as I hate it, I should probably get back to the shop. We have a big order going out tomorrow, so there’s quite a lot to do today to prepare for it,” I said. “Plus, I have a date with a very handsome detective tonight that I want to get ready for.”
The frustration on his face seemed to melt away as he looked at me with a smirk. “Is it anyone I know?”
“Possibly. He does work in your unit.”
“Is that so?” he asked. I nodded. “Well, if I see him around, I might have to have a talk with him.”
“And what would you say?”
“I’d tell him that he better be good to you because you deserve to be treated well.”
My stomach fluttered. “You can rest assured that he treats me very well. Better than any man ever has.”
“All those other men were idiots.”
I smiled. “Maybe so.”
He shook his head. “Definitely so.” He reached out and took his lunch from my hand, then turned and placed it on a filing cabinet behind him. “Will you let me help you to your car now?”
I nodded. “Yes, please.”
He put on his coat and followed me to the break room. He pulled my dolly for me, moving it like it was as light as a child’s toy. Even when we made it to the parking lot, he didn’t seem to have any issue with the wheels fighting against him. Then he picked it up and placed it in my trunk with ease, despite how I very often fought to get it back in. I thought about telling him that he was welcome to help me anytime he wanted, but I was afraid it wouldn’t come across as a joke and he would feel obligated to actually help.
“Thank you. You made my morning a lot easier,” I said after I closed the trunk. I looked at him. “I guess I’ll see you around five-thirty?”
He nodded. “I’ll call you when I leave here, but yeah, I should be there by then,” he said. “And I promise it’ll only be the two of us and no cheap pizza.”
“To be honest, I quite liked the pizza. It didn’t taste cheap. And I really, truly didn’t mind Faye joining us, but it'll be nice to have dinner with just you tonight,” I said. “But that reminds me - I put a copy of our cookie recipe for Faye in your lunch box.”
He smiled. “Thank you. She’ll be very excited about that.”
“You’re welcome. And let her know if she has any issues with it, she can call or text me.”
The crease between his eyebrows appeared as he looked at me thoughtfully. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I’ve made them enough times over the last year and a half to make every mistake you can with them. If she has a problem, I can probably diagnose it over the phone.”
“You don’t mind her having your number?”
I felt my facial expressions mirroring his, but from confusion. “Of course I don’t mind. As long as you’re okay with it,” I said. “Unless you think your ex-wife would mind? I don’t want to step on her toes or anything.”
He shook his head. “I don’t think Angie would mind for that purpose, and I don’t have a problem with it. But I don’t want you to feel obligated.”
“I don’t but I’ll leave it up to you. If you’d feel more comfortable being the middleman you can always call me for her.” I gave him a big smile. “And I can help you practice the whole talking thing. Then it’s a two birds with one stone kind of deal.”
He smiled back, nodding his head. “And if she doesn’t need help?”
“You can still call.” I shrugged. “As far as I’m concerned, you don’t have to have a reason for calling. If I’m not at work, I’m usually pretty free. I may be cooking, or watching ‘The Golden Girls’ with Mom, but that’s about it,” I said. “I’m afraid you’re courting quite a socially boring person.”
He laughed. “I’m not sure if you’ve caught on, but I’m not exactly a sociable person, either,” he said. “So perhaps we make a good fit for each other.”
“Perhaps so,” I agreed. “We can be selectively social together.”
“Sounds good to me.”
I let out a sigh and watched my breath turn to steam in front of me. “I better let you get back to your paperwork and I need to go help Darcy at the store. We have over fifty loaves of bread to bake before the end of the day, so depending on when I get home, you may have to deal with your date smelling like freshly baked bread.”
He squinted slightly. “I’m not really opposed to that,” he joked with a smile that showed off the sharp ends of his canine teeth.
I laughed. “Good to know.”
He gave me a short hug, kissing my cheek as he pulled back. “I’ll see you this evening.”
“I’m looking forward to it.

Shattered Lives Ch 40 Pt 3
They were awake early, first by Lily, closely followed by three excited boys, it was snow fort building day. The kids were up and dressed in record time, Brendan taking it upon himself to get Lily ready to hurry the process along, the twins practically dragging Gustaf out of bed before he caved.
“Ok, ok, I’m getting up.” He chuckled. “Go help Brendan with breakfast and Lily, we’ll be right there.” He said to the twins, Sildie’s giggle into his shoulder had him smiling. “I’m starting to regret my decision.” He quipped, hands roaming that lush body he’d ravaged the night before.
“It’ll be fun and they’re so happy.” She cupped his face with her hand and kissed him sweetly. “You make them so happy love.”
“We’ll see after I bury them in the snow up to their eyeballs.” He nuzzled his face into her neck, her scent arousing him. “Ever had sex in a snow fort?” He asked slyly, her burst of laughter was a sure fire no.
“No I haven’t.”
“Well if we put a roof on it and make it an igloo.” He kissed her longingly. “I might take you out there and fuck you in it.” He growled.
“That would be one to cross off the bucket list.” She laughed.
“It would. You could be my snow kitten.” He purred.
“It’ll be cold.”
“I’ll warm you up.” He kissed her again and pressed her into the mattress. “God I wish I had more time with you this morning to ravage you again.” He devoured her mouth and then pulled away. “I have to get up and shower before we give three boys an education when they come looking for us.” Her laugh always made him smile. The one that he only heard when she was stress free, guilt free, grief free, and genuinely happy, at peace with the world around her and her place in it. God he wanted more of that for her.
Showered and dressed Gustaf found the boys and Lily at the table eating, fueling up for a long day of snow fort construction. Making tea they discussed their fort, or rather the main fort and three smaller walls for the snowball fight, the boys were thinking long term. “This might take a couple of days to build.” He said gently, not wanting them to get their hopes up of everything being completed in one day.
“We can build and then do something else for a bit for a break.” Brendan suggested.
“I like that plan. And no throwing snowballs until we declare a snowball fight day.” He smirked, knowing the twins would shove more snow down his shirt given the opportunity. “We build, then we have a few days having the snowball fight ok?” All three agreed and Lily squealed making them all laugh.
Sildie emerged from the bedroom to a laughter filled room. What she wouldn’t do to have the kids this happy all the time. She knew there would be tears and grief again at some point, but this was such a relief, acknowledgment they were healing. She sat and ate with Gustaf, the kids putting on layers and boots and coats. “You taking all four or you want me to keep Lily in here?” She asked as she sipped her tea.
“Taking all four. Lily will have fun throwing snow at the boys.” He grinned.
“Brave, brave man.” She chuckled. “You ok if I kick back and read for a little bit?”
“Sore after yesterday’s hike?” He asked slyly, not meaning the hike at all.
“A little stiff that’s all.” He leaned over and kissed her tenderly.
“I’ll massage it out later.” He growled and she snorted a laugh.
“I’m sure you will.” His grin was wicked, the sparkle in those Nordic blue eyes mischievous. “I’ll come out for a while and take some pictures, maybe sit out there in the sun and read, keep and eye on Lily.”
“Whatever you want to do love.”
“That’s the thing I’m a little lost.” She murmured.
“Idle hands are the devils plaything.” He muttered as he stood.
“You better watch out then.” She looked at him from under her lashes and bit her bottom lip.
“Careful kitten.” He growled at her ear. “I’m keeping score and that perfect ass of yours is going to be fire engine red when I’m done with you.” The ripple of arousal that shuddered through her made him grin. “You like the sound of that don’t you? Hmmm?” Her kiss was her answer, hungry, for him.
“Go make your fort.” She scoffed and playfully pushed him away.
Gustaf took the kids outside and helped them choose the location for their main fort and where they would build their three smaller walls for the snowball fight. They spent the morning crafting bricks of snow and packing down the floor of the fort. Sildie sat reading and taking pictures, a few videos, and watched as Gustaf and the kids bonded. It was so important for them to have this time and she was grateful that she’d found someone like Gustaf who wanted her as much as the four kids that came as a package deal. She ventured out with Lily and they started a small snowman, the tiny girl having the time of her life tossing more snow around and giggling as it rained down on her. By the time lunch rolled around they had five layers of bricks up for the main fort and Lily had built a snowman, sort of. It looked more like a blob but she was having fun.
“After lunch we can pack the gaps.” Gustaf said as he sat next to Sildie, the picnic style lunch an easier solution than shedding boots and jackets to eat inside.
“Something Lily can help with too.” Liam said taking a bite of his pizza.
“We have to be careful with Lily, make sure her fingers don’t get too cold.” Sildie said closing the front door bringing some hot chocolate and cookies out. She loved how the boys wanted to include their sister in everything they did as a family.
“Oh.” His face fell.
“She can help love. Just like when we built the snowman earlier. We just have to keep an eye out. Her fingers are much smaller than yours and mine, and she can’t voice what she’s feeling. You can tell me your hands are cold, she doesn’t have those words yet or know what they mean so we have to remember to check her fingers.”
They devoured the cookies, Lily asking for a second one and Gustaf giving in. Sildie sat with her book as the construction continued and by mid afternoon they’d started on the roof when Lily needed her nap. She fussed, not wanting to go down, but her body was clearly overruling her. Stripping down Sildie curled up in their bed with her, content with reading while the tiny girl slept, those wayward thoughts of having kids with Gustaf flitting in and out of her mind.
With the light fading, the boys as well, Gustaf called it a day and herded the kids inside. They were beat, but they had an igloo, complete with roof. Although how stable that roof was he couldn’t say. They could spend some of the morning tomorrow doing the other three walls for the snowball fight and call it good. The kids went to take showers and warm up as he stood in the doorway to their room and smiled. His two best girls curled up in their bed fast asleep. “You’re going to make a great mother someday love.” He murmured to himself as he snuck a few photos. Closing the door quietly he went to the kitchen to start dinner.
“Mum mum mum.” Lily patted her cheek softly.
“I’m awake little lady, just resting my eyes.” She chuckled and snuggled the child in closer, giving her smooches. She took Lily to bathe and get in her pajamas and realized it was very quiet in the cabin. Coming out to the living room four boys were curled up in front of the fire listening to Gustaf read Harry Potter. Lily squirmed in her arms crying a dad dad, and as her tiny feet hit the floor she was off running to him for a cuddle. Their bond was so strong, she thought, and her heart swelled. “He’s so good with them Quinn.” She whispered. “Don’t be mad at me for wanting this.”
“Well hello little lady.” He chuckled, that deep rumble Sildie adored filling the room as he snuggled Lily to him. “You going to help?” He said and kissed her head as he kept reading.
Sildie made tea, noticing the stew nearly ready on the stove, the timer ticking by. It was the little things he did, just took care of that made her feel so loved. The little things she didn’t have to worry about so she could read, or take a nap, or just have five minutes to herself and breathe. But he did them because he wanted to, not because he had to, or was asked to, and it was also the reason she sometimes felt she was taking advantage of him. “You’re not.” She muttered quietly under her breath. “He does it because he wants to. It’s his choice.” And it was, sometimes she just had to remind herself of that.
The boys sat around the table as the timer went off, Gustaf coming into the kitchen to help, Lily attached to his hip.
“I’ve got it, go sit.” She tapped a hand on his chest and kissed him sweetly.
“Good nap?”
“Yes. Didn’t really mean to crash out but I did.” She chuckled. “It’s still early so this one should go down normal time.”
“Good to know.” He growled. “Because even though I’m tired after today, I have a craving for you.” He breathed, and kissed her temple. She felt her pussy clench, just the thought of him fucking her was enough to get her system buzzed. “I’ve wanted you all day.” The brush of his fingers at her hip sent a shot of arousal to her core as she tried to get the garlic bread ready for dinner, his low chuckle mischievous.
They sat and ate, the twins telling her all about their afternoon and that she needed to go and check out the fort. She assured them she would when the sun was up. After dinner the kids cleaned their teeth and crashed out early, the days activities wiping them out. Gustaf sat on the floor in Lily’s room, the little lady tired and nearly asleep holding onto his fingers. Standing at the door she videoed him talking to Lily, soothing her, it might come in handy when he was away and homesick. It would be worse for him this time around and she was getting herself prepared to help him anyway she could. Lily would feel the separation more this time too, something Sildie wasn’t looking forward to. These moments seemed fleeting knowing he’d be gone for three months, and she’d capture and keep as many of them as possible.
He was tired, the exercise from the day had started to catch up with him. Finishing in the bathroom he crawled into bed, Sildie sitting up reading as he sighed into the pillow.
“Long day.” She chuckled.
“A lot of exercise.” His huff was one of humor. Even as he said that his hand wandered up her thigh, he still wanted her, craved the feel of her. She startled him when she snapped her book shut, placed it on the nightstand, and moved to straddle him, his semi hard erection pressing against her.
“Feels like you’re up for something.” She grinned, lips ghosting his.
“I’m always up for something with you love.” His fingers tangling in her hair as he devoured that clever mouth.
“Your turn to lay there and take what I give you.” She breathed and gently rocked her hips, her slick heat coating his cock.
“You going to ride me kitten?” He asked, dusty blue eyes finding hers.
“Mmmm, eventually.” She hummed and nipped his jaw before heading south over his chest and torso to kneel between his thighs. Hands spread his hips wide until his feet were flat on the bed, her tongue tasting him as she settled in to feast. As her lips kissed over thigh and torso, her fingers grazed his package sending fireworks off in his brain, the light scrape of her nails enough to make him hiss. “You like it when I do that.” She purred and did it again to emphasize her point, the hiss turning into a growl as she licked the base of his cock. Teasing him relentlessly she built his release up, and by the time she took him into her mouth to suck on him he was ready to beg her to let him come.
“Fuck kitten you feel so good.” He groaned as he thrust up into her mouth gently, his mind scrambled by the sensation of those nails raking his balls and her mouth sucking him into oblivion. She stopped as he peaked, the low whimper of frustration making her smile as she released him with an audible pop. Crawling up his body she kissed him, tongue teasing before she climbed off him and straddled him to face his feet. Hands guided his legs down to lay flat and slightly apart. Scooting forward she took his cock in her hand and stroked him, his hands kneading her ass as she positioned him at her entrance. Taking a hold of his ankles she impaled herself on his cock slowly.
“Kitten.” He choked, arching his head back as her tightness enveloped him, fuck she felt good. Moving her hands to the mattress she pressed against his ankles for him to widen his legs stretching her hips as much as her body would allow. Her soft moan as she started to ride him causing him to grip her ass and hiss as she took him apart.
As she rode him he slipped his fingers through her wetness, those silken folds spread wide for him to play with. “Let me feel you come kitten.” He said as he stroked slick fingers around her back door. She tensed as he toyed with her puckered hole, the orgasm looming, he felt it flutter around his rigid member. As she thrust down onto him he slipped two long fingers into her ass, the sudden fullness tipping her over the edge. With a soft cry she came hard, her pussy spasming around his cock.
“Don’t stop.” She cried and rode him harder, those long digits sinking further into her ass, the push and pull filling her deliciously. “Daddy don’t stop.”
With her this tight he wasn’t going to last, his own breathing becoming ragged as he held of blowing his load. As she crested those nails raked his package, the heel of her hand on her clit. She fucked him, took everything she needed from him for her own pleasure, giving him everything of herself in return.
“Daddy.” She cried as she teetered, her rhythm becoming faster as she took them both over the edge.
“Fuck kitten.” He groaned as he came, sparks dancing in his vision. She kept the torturous pace until they were both spent. Resting where she was she forced air into her lungs, breath ragged. A grin bloomed on her face when she felt him sit up and curl over her, hands supporting her, the need to feel her close. “I love it when you fuck me.” He growled, chest still heaving and gently bit down on her shoulder before sucking it. “Your moves kitten are out of this world.”
“I love taking you.” Her hand hooked behind his neck and she turned to kiss him tenderly. “Taking what I want, but giving you everything in return.” She kissed him again.
“Keep kissing me like that and I’ll have to return the favor.” He chuckled.
“If you’re not asleep first.” She grinned, he looked tired.
Eventually untangling themselves and bathroom hygiene seen to, they snuggled warm and satisfied. He had every intention of rocking her world again, but the toll of playing in the snow all day won the battle and pulled him under.
“Sleep love.” She murmured as she felt him relax as she stroked his scalp toying with the longer scruff of hair he’d been growing out. Laying there she let her mind drift, finally having the time and space to think about their future, to actually start to lay down roots. She plunged into sleep with him a while later, thoughts of their own brood of kids in the forefront of her dreams.
The scream that tore through the night woke him from a dead sleep with a start. He looked at his sleeping goddess beside him, Sildie was still out cold and he smirked. The woman could sleep through a nuclear disaster. Lily’s cry came again through the monitor, the little lady clearly not happy about something. “I’m coming Lily bear.” He murmured as he untangled himself from Sildie and got out of bed. Pulling on some sweatpants he padded out to Lily’s bedroom, the poor girl was beyond it. “What’s wrong little lady?” He soothed as he picked her up. Snuggling her in close the sobs of dad dad muffled into his chest broke his heart. “You have a bad dream? Hmmm?” He rocked from side to side the movement soothing her a little. “Shall we get you cleaned up? Have some cuddles?”
“Dad dad dad.” She cried, the tone softer now.
“You’re fingers are all cold.” He said laying her down to change her. “You get cold little one?” Once changed he fished out a thicker set of pajamas and dressed her.
“She ok?” Sildie mumbled from the doorway as he picked Lily up and curled her in wrapping the blanket around her as well.
“I think she got a little cold.” Damn he loved the look of her like this. Sleepy and crumpled, it was sexy as sin. “Go back to bed love, I’ve got her.” He murmured as she came to him and simply wrapped her arms around him and swayed.
“I love you.” She said softly.
“I love you too. Go back to bed.” He chuckled.
“You’re sure?” She mumbled, almost asleep on her feet.
“I’m sure.” He kissed her forehead. “I’ll be there in a bit.”
“Ok.”
He chuckled as she shuffled back to bed. She was so adorable like this, but knew she’d kick his ass if he told her that. “Alright little lady. Back to bed for you too.” Lily had grown heavy in his arms.
He put Lily in her crib and took two steps before she started crying again. She wasn’t having it. She wanted Gustaf and he knew deep down she wouldn’t settle again tonight without him. “All right.” He soothed as he picked her up again. “You’re all right Lily.” He sighed. “Let me get my book and you can sleep on me while I read.” It was 3 am anyway and he doubted he was getting anymore sleep tonight.
With a quietly sobbing Lily in his arms he went into their room and grabbed his book from the nightstand, being careful not to disturb Sildie.
“Come to bed love.” She mumbled.
“She won’t go down, I’ll read on the couch with her, so you can get some more sleep.” He said and she rolled over to look at him.
“Bring her in here too.” She murmured tugging the covers back. “We’ll all snuggle up.”
Tossing his book back on the nightstand he did as she asked, all three of them curling up together under the covers. Lily’s sobs eventually turned into even breaths, the tiny girl finally sleeping.
“She’s asleep.” Sildie said softly.
“I can go try to put her into her bed.” He said, his fingers drifting up and down her naked body.
“No it’s ok.” She leaned up and kissed him tenderly. “Close your eyes love. Sleep some more.” His arm stiffened and drew her closer.
“My two best girls, my family. You’re beautiful love. Every inch of you. Inside and out.” He kissed her sweetly before she snuggled in closer, the three of them eventually falling back to sleep.
The next few days passed in much the same fashion as the ones before it, minus Lily invading their bed and sleeping on Gustaf. Days of fort building and setting up for their snowball fight, building a snow family that now stood proudly beside the fort, and a Lily sized snowball fight where the boys got to be a little sillier than usual.
They’d spent the day finishing the battle ground, the snowball fight scheduled for high noon tomorrow, and we’re now snowboarding on the small slope at the rear of the cabin. While the boys learnt to snowboard, Sildie found an old sled and took Lily down a few times, the child squealing and chattering the whole time. At the bottom of the hill she got some video of the boys and smiled. “I hope you’re seeing this Quinn. How happy they are.” She chuckled as Brendan wiped out face first into the snow, coming up with a grin plastered across his face. “Don’t let Ana destroy this.” She pleaded with the universe as her eyes cut to Gustaf. Her goofy man, so much love and kindness in that sweet soul, she thought. “He’s suffered enough because of her, let it be done. Please, just let it be done so we can move on.” That gorgeous smile spread across his face, those laugh lines winking at her. “I’m so in love with you.” She whispered.
She smiled as she thought back to yesterday when they worked on the fort and then hiked back to the lake to ice skate while the weather was cooperative. The twins falling on their asses most of the time giggling and making Lily squeal, while Gustaf skated with her in his arms. Her carefree, handsome man so at peace. It calmed her soul to know she could give him this, the time and space he needed to really relax and be himself.
Laughing as Gustaf wiped out, much to the amusement of the twins, she headed inside with Lily to start lunch, the boys following a while later as a storm started to roll in. The twins sat at the table with sulky faces. “Why the long faces?” She asked setting sandwiches out.
“The storms going to ruin the fort.” Liam huffed.
“No it won’t.” Gustaf said. “It’ll make it stronger actually, fill in all the gaps.”
“What if it falls down?” Finn asked, and Gustaf could hear the disappointment.
“It’s only a small storm Finn it should be fine, if not we’ll fix it.” He shrugged.
“Oh. Can we go play in it later?” He asked.
“Not today, by the time this blows through it’ll be bed time.” He grinned. “Anyway you know what fresh snow means?” The kids shook their head. “Better snowballs.” It also provided more insulation around the igloo for him to strip his goddess naked and fuck her into oblivion, but he kept that wicked thought to himself.
With a quiet afternoon of reading and playing board games, the kids amused themselves by strategizing how they were going to get Gustaf tomorrow. Brendan looked at Sildie pleading with her not to say anything as she overheard them snickering. She hovered near the table and kept her eyes on Gustaf and Lily while she spoke.
“I won’t say anything, but just know, if you dish it out you have to be able to take what he dishes back, because you know if you gang up on him he will retaliate.” She chuckled at their grins.
“We know.” Finn giggled.
“Ok then.” Boys, she thought, will be boys, and this is exactly what they needed, the overly large boy as well. It’s one of the things Sildie adored about her lanky man, he was a big kid at heart with so much love to give.
The snowstorm eventually subsided to gentle flurries and with the kids showered they were ready to settle with hot chocolate around the fire for reading and quiet time.
While the boys showered, Gustaf ventured out to the igloo to set the scene. With a few candles lit, he lay down a few mattress pads and sleeping bags to insulate their bodies from the cold, snow packed floor. Making sure nothing was going to catch fire and adjusting the terra-cotta pot heater, he came back inside to three boys and a very fussy Lily ready for some Harry to round out the night.
“Is the fort still up?” Brendan asked.
“Yep, still standing. Thought I’d check on it now as the snow’s almost stopped falling.” He glanced at Sildie and winked before snaking an arm around her hip as she stirred the hot chocolate. “You up for a little voyeurism tonight love?” He murmured, lips ghosting the pulse at her throat as he took Lily from her.
“We’ll freeze our asses off.” She snorted.
“Totally worth it and I set up a heater in there so it should be toasty by the time we head out.” He growled, his tone saying come and play.
“Let’s get the monsters to sleep first.” She scoffed.
“Piece of cake.” He bit down on the pulse thrumming under her skin and sucked. “I’m going to make you scream kitten, all those delicious sounds I’m going to pull from you.” He purred and left her standing there stirring the hot chocolate, pussy gushing already.
As Gustaf read to them, Sildie took a shower and slipped on a base layer, she had no idea what he had planned but it was going to be near, if not below freezing out there, igloo or not. The boys said their good nights and went to bed no fuss, no complaints, Lily didn’t get the memo.
“Don’t throw a monkey wrench in my plans little lady. You had your snuggle time the other morning.” He soothed as he rocked her, Lily eventually starting to drift. “That’s my Lily bear, sleep time. More snow fun tomorrow.” He cuddled her close, no rush to be anywhere, even though his cock was saying otherwise. She needed to go to sleep and stay there for the night to be a success.
An hour later he closed Lily’s door, checked on the boys, and found Sildie in their bedroom stretched out on the bed reading. With a finger to his lips to silence her, he crooked the other one asking her to come to him. Grabbing his phone and the baby monitor, he took her hand and led her to the front door. Silently pulling their boots and coats on they slipped out to the igloo like a couple of teenagers sneaking out of the house to get up to mischief. Making their way inside, it was a much warmer environment that greeted them than the outside air. There was enough room for them to discard their boots and coats, the base layer the only thing either of them had on.
He turned to look at her, gaze devouring every inch of her. A moment later his hand disappeared into her hair, mouth savaging hers, that unbridled need to have her suddenly consuming him. Groaning into her mouth she palmed his already hardening member, the firm strokes chipping away at his control. “Fuck kitten I want to ravage every inch of you.” He growled, tongue demanding entry into her mouth to tease hers. “Make you scream those beautiful sounds.” A hand dived under her shirt, greedy for her breast, the sharp pinch to her nipple causing her to cry out and clutch at him. “Just like that.” He stripped her down to bare skin and helped her do the same for him, cock hard and ready for her. Gripping her chin he claimed her mouth slowly, savoring every bit of her even though he wanted her hard, fast, and now. “On your hands and knees kitten.” He growled. “I want to fuck that pretty mouth.”
She dropped to the floor as he rose up on his knees, erection standing proud. Her mouth watered at the sight of him, she wanted to taste him, feel him. She loved this side of him, dominating, controlled, erotically sinful.
“Open.” He purred and she obeyed. He rested the tip on her bottom lip, tongue darting out to flick over the pre come that had gathered there. With a slow, gentle thrust of his hips she sucked him in. With a hand lightly fisted in her hair he pumped his hips, the sensation of that sultry mouth around him fueling his desire for her. When he was rock hard he stopped and pulled out. Loosening his grip on her hair he guided her up to kiss her. “You always feel so good when you suck me kitten.” He murmured, lips ghosting hers. “Lay down, hips on the pillow.” He said and helped her get comfortable in the confined space.
Talented hands spread her knees and pressed her thighs open. Dipping his head down he feasted, not waiting, not gentle, he devoured her like she was his last meal. The sounds that came out of her were feral, pleasure overloading her system at every touch. Her soft cry filled the snow enclosure as she came, the release so sudden it surprised her. Kissing his way up her body he claimed her mouth, the violent shiver of need streaking through her. “Always my favorite dessert. Are you warm enough?” He asked, the last thing they needed was to get sick.
“I’m fine.” She grinned.
“Mmmm good. The night is young kitten. I’m going to wreck you so slowly.” He said wickedly. “Give me your hands.” He commanded and she complied. From a pocket of his jacket he produced the scarlet silk cord and bound her wrists to the outside of her knees.
“You came prepared.” She smirked.
“Always. Not too tight?”
“No.” She breathed, eyes fixated on her bindings and those seductive fingers securing them. The lack of blindfold was a new experience for her. Rarely did he bind her while she had her sight. Taking her knees in his hands he pushed them open and back toward her for comfort until he was ready to take her.
“Look at me.” He purred and watched as her eyes snapped to his. “I want you to watch kitten, watch what I do to you, watch when I fuck you, watch as I take you apart a piece at a time.”
Kneeling close to her he straightened and stroked his tip through her wet heat. “Fuck kitten your soaked for me.” He murmured as he rested at her entrance. That soft gasp tumbled from her lips as he tip fucked her slowly, the broad mushroom head spreading her open.
Slender fingers slipped through her silky folds, each touch igniting every nerve in her body. She didn’t know what was more erotic, watching him toy with her, or his gaze. A gaze that held so much love and absolute devotion.
“Can you see kitten?” He purred, fingers dancing over her clit. The whimper falling of its own volition as she nodded.
Grasping her ankles in each hand he held them out to the side as wide as her body would allow him to stretch them into a V and watched her eyes take in every movement. “Relax your legs and hips.” He said softly and as soon as she did he thrust in. Her body bowed back as he slid in deep, his woman writhing in ecstasy as he filled her. Not waiting for her to settle he started to plunge in and out of her tight pussy, his girth stretching her further. “Look at me.” He growled and her eyes snapped to his, ice blue as the igloo around them and so lost to him as he started to pound into her slow and deep. The symphony of sounds coming from her as he took her would have woken the kids had they been inside the cabin. Those beautiful noises that aroused him, pleasured him, stoked the raging inferno inside him and the lust he had for her. Stroking his hands down her thighs he held her tightly and fucked her, the sound of their bodies slamming together adding to their pleasure. “Come for me kitten.” He commanded and felt her body obey. It welled up inside her and burst out, a soft scream tumbling from her lips as it ripped through her. “That’s it.” He crooned as another orgasm built quickly.
He was hitting every spot, stretching her, filling her, the pleasure almost too much.
“Watch me fill you kitten.” He growled, her eyes focusing on where his cock speared into her again and again, drawing out such ecstasy.
“Daddy.” She cried, her entire body tensing.
“Let it take you kitten.” As she came he thrust in harder, enjoying the feel of her clamp down around him as he buried himself to his hilt. “So good for me.” He murmured. His hands stroked down her body as he stilled his hips, the girth of him stretching her wide.
“Daddy.” Her whimper almost snapped his self control. That one word in that tone was enough to have him draw out of her and slam himself home. Not yet though.
“Soon kitten.” He purred, fingers drifting to her breasts. Rolling the nipples between his fingers she gave into the sensations, giving up the final shred of control. As he pinched the tiny buds hard he flexed his hips, the slight movement filling her completely, the arch of her spine offering herself to him. His cock throbbed inside her, all that wet heat clenching at him, she felt incredible. With each flex of his hips he built her release, it surged up from deep within her.
“Daddy, please.” Her whimper turned to a moan as he filled her again, the borderline painful pinch of her nipples sending a shot of pleasure to her clit.
“Let it come kitten.” He growled, patience was key he thought, but his own self control was crumbling. “Let it claim you.” He felt her body tense so tightly he thought she’d snap something, before a scream tore out of her as she came. Gripping a breast in each hand he pulled out and thrust in hard and deep, hitting every spot inside her until he bottomed out. Relentlessly he took her, pounded into her until one orgasm became another and a symphony tumbled from her lips. After her fourth he slowed to let her catch her breath, the gentle movement as erotic as what he’d just done to her. “Look at me.” He murmured, the soft command all she needed to obey. “Do you want more kitten?”
“Please daddy.” She whimpered, she wanted to feel him, have him devour her, fuck her senseless.
“So good for me. Roll over.” He said drawing out of her gently and helping her roll to her knees, chest bowed to the floor, head to the side.
Keeping her knees together he stroked those long digits over her folds, toying with her. He let his hands roam her body, more to check she was warm than to arouse her. That soft gasp turned into a moan as he slipped inside her, the tightness of her like this nearly making him come. Circling a hand on her ass cheek he was so tempted to spank her. “You’re going to find out what this means one day kitten.” He said as his hand circled.
“Yes daddy.” She whimpered, and he groaned at her answer, that endearment had his cock twitching in response.
“One day soon kitten.” He murmured.
“Please daddy.” She begged. She wanted it, oh, she wanted him to spank her right here and now.
“Kitten you are so good to me, but that’s not on tonight’s agenda. I have special plans for when I spank you the first time.” He purred as he snapped his hips and slid into her deeply.
With each thrust and flex of his hips, the tightness caused them both to grunt and groan, the ecstasy almost too much to handle. Taking her hip in his hand he pistoned his, watching her beautiful body take him in with each brutal stroke.
“Fuck kitten, I love taking you like this.” He growled as her pussy tightened around him and he increased his pace. Fucking her deep he took hold of the other hip and let his primal urge surface. Once he found his rhythm she was coming over and over again, her screams closer together and louder. His goddess in the throes of being fucked was a beautiful sight.
“I want to feel you daddy.” She whimpered and pushed back. “Please.” She begged, it was maddening what he was doing to her, making her feel and she couldn’t get enough of him.
“Greedy little kitten.” He teased, as his thumb slick with her wet heat pressed against her back door. “You want it all don’t you?”
“Please daddy, please.” Her gasp turned to a groan as he slipped his thumb inside. That groan turned to a scream as he thrust cock and thumb into her in a devastating rhythm.
“Such a beautiful sound when you come.” He purred and took her over for three more just like it. “Rock back, take me deep.” He commanded and felt all control slipping away when she did as instructed. “Fuck kitten just like that.” He took her hard, the rough brutal fuck of the primal beast that had surfaced pleasuring them both beyond conscious thought. She bounced on him as his hips drove his cock into her until he bottomed out, her thoughts non existent, brain completely turned to goo.
“Daddy.” She screamed. “Daddy please.” He gripped her hip painfully hard and pulled her on and off him as he fucked her, the scream a long wail as she came. She was sure she blacked out and maybe saw a few planets amongst the stars that were exploding in front of her eyes as her climax shattered her. His hand snaked around to finger her clit and she came again catching her off guard. Gripping her hip he rode her, taking what he wanted, the beast roaring from within him as he filled her with his seed. He took her, took them both, the sound of skin slapping against skin mixing with their groans and cries as they prolonged the pleasure for each other. Leaning over, he pressed his chest to her spine mainly for reassurance, and kissed the nape of her neck before nipping it.
“Lay down I’m not done with you yet kitten.” He growled and pulled out of her slowly. Helping her lay flat on her side, he rolled her to her back. Kissing her tenderly he looked at her flushed face in the candlelight, stunning, so beautiful with the burnished copper hall fanned out across the sleeping bags. He nipped at her throat, the trail leading him to hardened nipples. Biting down gently he sucked on them, hands cupping her breasts to feel them, fondle them. Those soft sounds urging him on, to take whatever he wanted. Kneeling between her thighs he bent and wrapped her legs around his neck, knees resting on his shoulders and feasted. Supporting her spine with his hand he lifted her so she was resting on her shoulders, thumb circling her back door and inching inside.
It was too much sensation, she came instantly, the soft mewling and frantic hands pulling on her bindings telling him she was all his, completely at his mercy, and totally beyond all comprehension. He added three fingers into her pussy, a groan at the sudden fullness turned into a cry as she came again. Fingers and tongue busy, he wrecked her, building her up and tipping her over until she was an incoherent mess.
“Last one kitten. Then I’ll take you inside and take you some more.” He murmured against her clit. He took her hard, unrelenting and she screamed as she climaxed, fuck he loved that sound. Lowering her to the ground he covered her with his body and nuzzled her neck.
“I don’t think I can move.” She mumbled, surprised she could string a coherent sentence together.
“Take a moment.” His amusement thick in his voice.
“I think I’m gonna need several moments. I guess I can cross igloo sex off my bucket list.” She laughed. She’d never felt this relaxed.
“Told you it’d be fun.”
“It’s not as cold now.”
“Because we heated it up.” His grin playful. “You’re beautiful.” He said honestly. “So beautiful.”
“Only to you love.” Her kiss was nothing short of sinful.
“You can’t kiss me like that after what I just did to you.” He said indignantly. Her giggle made his cock twitch, wickedness.
He sat back on his knees and released her bonds, the gentle kiss to her wrists always giving her that warm and fuzzy feeling. The tenderness from him was astounding and nothing short of mind blowing to her.
“Come on, let’s get dressed before we catch a chill now we’ve stopped fucking each other’s brains out.” She grinned.
“Good point.” He kissed her tenderly. “I love you Sildie.”
“And I love you sweet man.”
They helped each other dress in between stolen kisses and urgent hands. He felt like a randy teenager full of hormones. Carting the bedding back inside, he listened as he opened the front door, the cabin still quiet, all tiny humans were asleep in their beds where they should be.
Gustaf tidied up the igloo while Sildie checked on the kids before visiting the bathroom and curling up in bed to wait for him.
She was dozing by the time he lay beside her. “You ok love?”
“I’m ok.” She sighed, still floating on the sea of bliss he’d inflicted on her. “So relaxed.” She said half asleep and he chuckled. “I can’t move.”
“Drink some water.” He said as she managed to roll over and face him. He steadied the glass as she drank, a sly smile tugging his lips. Draining what was left in the glass he placed it on the nightstand and climbed in under the covers, those soft curves calling to him. “You’re almost asleep.” He chuckled and all he got was a grunt of acceptance.
“Iloveyou.” She mumbled, already drifting.
“I love you too. Snuggle in. Sleep now.” He cocooned her against his body, long limbs holding her close.
No sooner had he tucked her in against him, she was out cold. “Night kitten.” He purred and followed her into a dreamless sleep with a grin plaster across his face.

His response is almost immediate, your phone lighting up as his message comes through. ‘Really baby?? I can’t wait to hear all about it! I’m not going to lie I’m pretty excited.’ You smile at your phone as your fingers fly over the keyboard. ‘I know, me too. I mean it’s just the beginning of an idea and of course we have to talk about a bunch of things but I’m eager to hear what you think.’
You sink further into the tub, a sigh of contentedness leaving your lips. Just as your eyes begin to close your phone buzzes again. You grab it and read the message. ‘Send me one more pic. I have another two hours before I can get home to you.’ Stifling a giggle, you snap a photo of your legs resting atop the edge of the tub and send it his way. ‘Longest two hours of my life,’ is his reply, followed by, ‘you better be awake when I get home…’
Deciding to leave him hanging you enjoy the rest of the warm water, allowing the bubble bath to do its magic. By the time you get out you’re softer than a baby’s bottom and very relaxed. You put on Bucky’s tee shirt and get into his bed, cuddling into his pillow so you’re enveloped in his smell.
He gets home around 2 am, quietly shuffling into his room to find you peacefully asleep in his bed. The blinds are still open, and the light of the moon reflects off your glowing skin. Bucky sits at the edge of the bed, delicately tracing his fingers over your bare shoulder. Brushing some hair from your face he leans down to kiss the corner of your mouth just as it curls up into a smile.
You roll onto your back and blink open your eyes, tugging on his arm so he lays down. “Hi beautiful,” he whispers as his hands smooth over your silky skin. “I’m sorry if I woke you. I was just…” You silence him with a kiss, any excitement over your idea momentarily forgotten.
For once Bucky sleeps later than you, his bare feet slapping against the floor and jolting you from your thoughts. “How long have you been up doll?” You run over to him and throw yourself into his arms. He easily catches you, peppering your face with kisses. “I made coffee. BUT IT’S SO BAD. So now you have to make coffee.” You give him a sorry look, pushing yourself up and onto the counter while he starts a new pot.
Minutes later he hands you a cup, the delicious, hot liquid warming you from head to toe. “Ok, now that we’ve both had a sip of edible coffee and I can concentrate on what you’re saying rather than trying to get you naked, let’s hear it!” You almost spit out your coffee at this last comment, shaking your head in amusement. “Ok, so. Eeeeeeeee, ok, this coffee isn’t helping, I’m practically buzzing!” you say before you jump down from the counter.
Pacing the floor, you chew your bottom lip as you try to get your thoughts in order. To Bucky’s credit he waits patiently, sipping his coffee quietly and letting you do your thing. “Alright. So, I hate to sound all about myself, but everyone really liked the pie last night, right?” Bucky agrees with no hesitation. “And grandma, you and Nat went nuts over my chocolate chip peanut butter cookies, yes?” Again, Bucky nods enthusiastically, smiling big. “And you and grandma really loved my chocolate pie and chocolate chip cookies?”
Bucky gently grabs your shoulders, bringing you into his chest and looking you straight in the eyes. “Yes, yes and more yes. Your baking is amazing and there is no doubt that everyone agrees.” You can feel the blush creep up your cheeks, your head dropping to hide in Bucky’s chest. Feeling the rumble of his laugh makes you smile, his finger hooking under your chin to bring your eyes to his. “I mean it.”
With a kiss you continue. “Thank you. So, if you guys like it there is no reason that other people wouldn’t like it. What if we added a café or bakery to the bookshop? Or both! I realize that it will cost money and right now that’s the problem. But I haven’t really thought all that through yet. However, I think if we add the baked goods and maybe even coffee and hot chocolate and stuff like that it could draw in more of a crowd. Also, you have a bartending license. Maybe we can do poetry slams and/or trivia nights. We can serve drinks and treats and charge at the door.”
Your hands are flying every which way and you’re talking a mile a minute, your enthusiasm warming Bucky’s heart and making him fall even more in love with you. It isn’t until you’re out of breath and he’s finished his coffee that you finally slow down. “Well?” He stares at you for what feels like forever before he puts down his cup and takes you in his arms.
“I love you. And I love your idea. I definitely think we have some things to figure out and a lot to go over but together I think we can make anything work.” You shake your head yes, too many emotions welling up inside you to speak. You simply press your lips to his and tell him everything he needs to know.
Later that morning you head home to do laundry and clean up, missing Bucky the moment you walk through your door. Luckily, he had the idea to stay over at the bookshop tonight and sleep up in the secret attic space. To say you were excited was an understatement.
You pack a light bag and head over to meet him, but not before grabbing the tin of chocolate chip peanut butter cookies you baked earlier as a surprise for him. The bookshop is closing just as you arrive, and you smile at the customer who is leaving. Bucky runs around the cashier counter and plants a firm kiss on your lips.
“Hi. Missed you.” You shove the tin into his hands and say, “I was just about to say the same thing. I made you something.” Bucky’s eyes widen as he starts to open the tin, bringing it up to his nose and inhaling the delicious peanut butter and chocolate smell. “You made me more?” he asks, face still half inside. “Yes, and you can eat as many as you want, as long as you share with me.”
Popping one into his mouth he gives you a thumbs up, placing the tin down and turning the sign to closed and locking the door. “The pizza just got here 5 minutes ago, and they gave us paper plates and everything.” Your mouth waters at the mention of food. “Ok, great. I’m starving. I have water and more snacks too. Are we eating upstairs?”
Bucky nods, taking the cookies and pizza and walking toward the back. When you get up the stairs and open the door you’re surprised to see that Bucky has hung a small string of star lights over the love seat and made a pile of blankets and pillows in the middle of the floor.
“Aw Buck, it looks so beautiful and cozy! This is going to be so fun.” The two of you settle on the floor surrounded by the pizza box and snacks, your feet touching while you dig into your first slice.  “You have some sauce right there,” Bucky says, leaning in to brush his thumb over your bottom lip. You take his thumb into your mouth and suck off the sauce, closing your eyes and letting out a moan.
When you open them again his lips are only inches from yours.  He carefully takes the pizza slice from your hands. “I was eating that,” you whisper, your eyes dropping to his mouth. “I have something better,” he teases, before pressing his lips to yours.
Laying on the floor amidst the soft blankets and pillows, cradled against Bucky’s chest you watch the rain drops pitter patter against the sky light above you, the lights from the city dancing along the dark walls. The low rumble of distant thunder echoes through the quiet space as you trace small patterns along his bare skin.
“I love summer thunderstorms.” Bucky hums in agreement, his eyes closed and his head resting against one arm while the other holds you close. “Do you think we should tell my grandma our idea?” Bucky’s question catches you off guard and for a second, you’re unsure of what to say. “Well. I think your idea of doing our research and talking to some friends, like Sam, is a good way to start. Maybe after we have a more solid plan we can sit down and show her everything.”
He’s quiet for a few moments, the sound of his breathing and the city below all you hear now that the rain has stopped. “That seems smart. Sam will probably be a big help since he opened the bar at the beginning of the year. And I know he has some other friends in the restaurant business too.” You prop your head up on your elbow and he turns to face you. “Good idea! I like it,” you say, tracing over the stubble on his jaw.
Grabbing your waist, he rolls over and sits you on top of him, the blanket falling from your shoulders. “You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” You gently roll your hips against him, smiling softly. “Oh Bucky.” The words fall from your lips with a quiet tenderness and the world falls away with every brush of his fingertips.

Party Dwellers 3 (End)
Tumblr media
(Y/N) dragged me along to a little spot not too far from the suburbs we were in. I’ve never seen a 24 hour pizza shop before but who am I to complain? It looked rundown with it’s peeling paint and sticky counters. But looks can be deceiving. Sometimes the most rough looking places have the best food! And I was right because that pizza was the most delicious thing i've ever tasted! We got a large pepperoni pizza that we split down the middle.
I didn’t think (y/n) would finish her side but she ended up demolishing it! Any table manners we had went out the window as we tore into the pizza. The pepperoni was salty, the cheese was stringy, and the sauce was sweet. When we were finished we grabbed soda cups with our greasy hands and washed it all down. The soda was flat but still good. We both paid the cashier and left some tip. It was 2:34 by the time we got outside I knew I REALLY needed to head home.
“(Y/N) it’s really been fun but I’ve gotta go.” She drank the last of her soda and threw it into a trash bin. “Yeah it is pretty late. I should probably go home too..”
But we didn’t. Somehow we ended up going to the pool. Which wasn’t open because of the late hour but we managed. And by managed I mean hopped the fence of an apartment complex. I took off both my shirts and my sneakers. (Y/N) kept her shirt on but took her pants and boots off.
I felt my entire body become hot. Her boy looked soft and plump. It made me wanna reach out and touch. That hot feeling reached the pit of my stomach. While her back was turned I launched myself into the pool to cool off. Hopefully (y/n) didn’t see the blush that had reached my face. “Hey you got in without me!” (Y/N) jumped in, splashing me in the process. When she resurfaced I sent a quick splash in her direction.
“HEY!” (Y/N) spluttered “Oops sorry babe.” I was anything but sorry and she clearly noticed. (Y/N) wiped off her face revealing an evil smirk. “You have no idea what you’ve just started!” We splashed around for a good while. There was water all over the place by the time our splash war was over. It ended with me diving under to sneak up on her. Instead I got a mouthful of gross tasting pool water. At some point in our fight (y/n) had found a bucket a kid left behind. After that we decided to catch our breath by sitting on the pool stairs.
“This is actually pretty fun! I just hope we don’t get caught.” I’ve already got a trespassing charge on my record, no need for a second one. But she doesn’t need to know that. “Nah we’ll be alright, I do this all the time. The security cameras over here are all messed up from a storm and they haven’t gotten to fixing them.” “Cool!”
We talked about everything. Mostly about school and how come we never talked to each other before. Turns out our class schedules were polar opposites, making it impossible to interact with one another. We talked about the party, parents, homework, and about our friends. This led to me gushing about the team.
“So Megan burnt the cookies to a crisp but I still ate them because there’s no way I can pass up free food. If you ask me they were actually pretty good! Artemis helped her make a new batch and even gave me a plate just for me! Unfortunately she put pepper in mine, but jokes on her because when I threw up she was in the way! Robin laughed until he cried while Artemis tried to kick my ass. Kaldur just shook his head and Conner ate the rest of the pepper cookies! I—I’m talking too much, aren’t I?”
Looking over at (y/n) I see her eyes are wide and completely on me. She was listening the entire time.
“No, you aren’t talking too much. Actually I like listening to you talk, especially about things you like! You and your friends sound like you have some good times together!”
Something about (y/n) saying that causes my face to feel hot and my heart hammers even more than usual. I wonder if (y/n) is feeling the same way. “Oh man, the sun is rising!” Just as (y/n) said that I finally noticed the sun peeking through some trees. (Y/N) gets out of the pool and gets her (f/c) phone. “Dude it’s 6 am!” Now my heart is hammering for a different reason! We grab our clothes and jump back over the fence. Me and (y/n) head over to a local bus stop so she can get home. I can feel my phone buzzing in my pocket but I wait with her. When we see the bus pulling up (y/n) grabs my phone and starts typing something.
“I had fun tonight! I hope we can hang out again soon?” She gave me her number. I GOT HER NUMBER! “Yeah we can totally hang out again!” The bus pulls up and (y/n) hops on. I can tell I’m smiling like a dope but I don’t care. I watch her bus drive off and once it turns the corner I look at my phone again.
I felt my stomach drop to my ass. A plethora of messages and missed phone calls flood my phone. Mostly from uncle Barry and Robin. With a long sigh I look around to make sure no one is looking. When I’m sure I’m in the clear I takeoff to the Cave. I’m gonna be in a shitload of trouble and I probably won’t have enough energy for training. But if I had a chance to do this night all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing.
