really interesting to me how everyone in my indigenous reconciliation seminar is always like yeah i wasn’t taught any of this (horrible cdn history, treaties, lack of rights, indian act, indian agents, reserves, etc) in elementary/high school i’ve never heard of this stuff before. which is obviously not their fault and good that my university requires all students to take indigenous courses so that everyone gets equal knowledge. however the weird thing to me is that i was taught all of this in my schools. i joked about it at the time saying i attended liberal woke school but like i actually did??

Gods I'm a fucking old-ass veteran of that game. I began playing in 2009 and I actually quit in like 2019 iirc. Few years ago I got a private server, and I was playing up until this year and then just fell out of favor. But damn that game is nostalgic af!!! It's awesome!!! <3 I'm genuinely SO glad to see others who played it!!!!

MAPLESTORY MENTIONED <3 i played from 2008 until .... gosh, i don't even remember when i stopped, it sort of fizzled out for me as the game got less fun and more pay to win. the last couple of times i launched it even the biggest hubs were completely empty, no heneseys hoes to be seen even in channel 1 u _ u absolute ghost town. and all my characters are on windia, which used to be one of the most popular servers! Not Anymore I Guess

it's the kind of game that i feel like... even if you're in a popular server or something, even if you're in a private server, it just takes too much dedication to play anymore. it's not really for casual people anymore, the whole community and culture is totally different now and it makes me sad. i feel like 2008 ~ 2014 was Peak and then it started to fall apart after that, too much grinding and not enough fun anymore.

i have to imagine i told the story before but i grew up a few houses down from a lady and her husband who run a marionette puppet theater. We called her "the puppet lady" and me and my siblings would hang out at her house all the time (i was like 8). The house was a small like 1-2 bedroom single floor and it was stacked wall to wall with hundreds of realistic but stylized large marionettes. They made them all in their garage and she taught me the art of puppetry which i am still really fascinated with today.

I think it’s interesting how people can have different pronunciations of a word or name they’ve never heard out loud in their head an not question it. The “Gen Zs/Millennials are like this” posts are so funny to me because 99% of the time they lack the nuance of the fact that there’s a disconnect between older and younger people within every generation. Younger teens in Gen Z who only ever knew 2010s tech and TikTok aren’t gonna have the same technological experiences as early 20 somethings in Gen Z who had the chance to be children without TikTok and with 2000s/early 2010s tech.
