Since I loooove headcanons, could we get some about Fictional!Mattys relationship with Carly, Adam and baby Christopher in OAF 🤗🥹

Yess Talk Shop Tuesday! I deeply apologize that this came in after I had shut my laptop for the night so I could focus on The Familiar (so far, not as good as Ninth House but I'm still enjoying it I think) so I am just now answering it, BUT this is a FANTASTIC question and one I have gotten VERY excited about omg! Here are some of my personal headcanons for On a Friday pertaining to Fictional!Matty's relationship with Fictional!Carly, Fictional!Adam and Christopher!

Fictional!Matty and Fictional!Carly were actually friends long before Fictional!Matty met the boys

Everyone thought Fictional!Matty and Fictional!Carly were going to end up together before they both ended up presenting as omegas as teenagers and then it was like ah yes they are platonic life partners / BFFs forever

Fictional!Matty's parents are both betas, where as Fictional!Carly's are an Alpha/Omega pairing, meaning that Fictional!Matty spent a lot of time at Fictional!Carly's house growing up, and her parents were the ones that gave him a lot of the initial omega talks

Fictional!Matty was initially a little apprehensive when Fictional!Carly and Fictional!Adam started dating even though he was the one that set them up, like that was HIS Fictional!Carly but then he ended up becoming the biggest supporter of their relationship when he saw how happy they both were

Fictional!Matty and Fictional!Carly did one of those weird not recommended blood pact things when they were teenagers and consider each other the closest of family / pack

Fictional!Matty was there every step of the way when Fictional!Carly got pregnant (even though it stirred up some weird feelings for him) and Fictional!Carly couldn't have imagined making it through without Fictional!Matty at her side

As far as Christopher is concerned, Fictional!Matty is "Uncle Matty" and he fully doesn't realize that Fictional!Matty and Fictional!Carly aren't actually brother and sister - he basically has three parents

When Christopher was first born, a small section of the internet was convinced that he was actually Fictional!Matty's (that small section of the internet is still convinced that) and just assumed he had gotten pregnant and had him during lockdown

Fictional!Matty and Fictional!George are VERY close obviously, but Fictional!Matty is much closer to Fictional!Carly and therefore by default Fictional!Adam

The "good" guest room at Fictional!Carly and Fictional!Adam's is Matty's

Fictional!Matty takes Christopher on special "Chris and Matty" adventures when Fictional!Carly and Fictional!Adam want alone time

When they went on the At Their Very Best Tour (SATVB didn't happen in this universe) Christopher didn't understand why both Fictional!Matty AND Fictional!Adam were gone, usually he got to have one or the other

Sometimes Fictional!Adam lays in bed at night and wonders how his child ended up being SO MUCH like Fictional!Matty

new idea: shen yuan transmigrates into a pidw version with abo dynamics, but he doesn't know about it.

he knows what abo is, but it's so far removed from his expectations that it simply doesn't cross his mind at all. with that, cang qiong is a respectable, upstanding sect, so there is no growling, claiming, scent pushing or primal instinct stuff going on. people also don't mention it, as it's simply not relevant most of the time, and is considered rude to discuss unprompted.

shen qingqiu, of course, is an omega (the characters who make the best omegas are the ones who would hate it the most), but he has suppressed it with his qi for most of his life because he doesn't want to be seen as weak. the other peak lords assume he's a beta.

now, i'm not a traditional abo dynamic fan, but, there is something very appealing to me about the nesting and scenting aspect of it.

it starts out slow and painfully oblivious, with shen yuan assuming cultivators must have a really good sense of smell, and it's simply book logic that every character seems to have a signature scent. all those romance novels always mention characters smelling of pine and flowers and scotch and leather, so this isn't a foreign concept. liu qingge, for instance, is the bai zhan war god, girls fall for him left and right, it's only natural he smells of musk and deep woodsy notes, like the earth after it rains. right?

besides that, shen yuan has always been a homebody who loves his creature comforts, so him getting extra blankets and pillows and soft fabrics for his bed to curl up in isn't odd at all. or him collecting soft pretty things. shen qingqiu already has fans and night pearls and hair ribbons and silky clothes, so nothing changes.

then without-a-cure hits.

the poison breaks down the suppressors that the original shen qingqiu put in place, and his body starts restoring the balance. this worsens the cravings, and sets off his omega instincts.

he gathers more blankets, but it doesn't fill the need, like there's something missing. then liu qingge forgets his outer robe in his house after a meridian cleansing to deal with an emergency, and that robe ends up in his bed. he tries to reason it's a comfort thing—he wore his dad's sweater when he was young and had nightmares, and liu qingge does smell very nice, so is it really that strange that he holds it at night and presses his face against the collar where the scent is the strongest to soothe himself?

his own scent starts to develop as well, much stronger than the mild, watery green tea flavor from before, and people notice.

thing is, though, that there are many formalities and rules of conduct around omegas, one of which is not to bring up their status in any improper or unbidden way. so even though the alpha lords now notice a very distinct omega scent coming off their shixiong, they can't mention it out of societal pressure. so, they don't.

shen yuan still doesn't notice a thing.

the first time liu qingge smells it is during their bi-weekly cleansing session, when shen qingqiu leans in and liu qingge gets a mouthful of green tea, bamboo and honeyed jasmine, soft and sweet and pleased and so very content it sets off his alpha brain and he has to rein himself in before he starts releasing his own pheromones like some inexperienced teenager—

he's only just grown used to their amity and their habit of sharing tea and cakes after the cleansing, but now shen qingqiu is sitting there smiling at him and smelling like—like liu qingge is spoiling him and, making him feel safe...

he doesn't bring it up, downs his tea, and leaves.

meanwhile shen qingqiu keeps happily nesting away, filling his bed with all kinds of soft fabrics, some clothes of other people that he's trying really hard not to think about. everything is going well, binghe just turned sixteen and the girls are calling him an 'alpha', so his little bun is growing well into his protagonist charms! yue qingyuan comes by more often, acting a little strange but shen qingqiu is used to that by now. he looks very bashful offering him a ribbon of his, a pretty silver one that smells of incense and ozone, and shen qingqiu happily accepts it.

one time binghe comes back bruised and scuffed from a fight with bai zhan disciples, and shen qingqiu tsks at the strange smells on him, do those brutes ever bathe?? he rubs his hands over binghe's sleeves to try and get some of it off, and his poor bun must still be in shock because he stares wide-eyed at his shizun. he must also be getting forgetful because shen qingqiu finds that same robe still unwashed a week later in binghe's bedroom.

he also loves it when people brush or play with his hair, it's his favorite part of the evening when binghe helps him take down his hair for the night. the combs feel so nice on his scalp, if he could purr he would! (binghe's heart sobs quietly behind him, in complete disbelief his master is purring at him).

his icy, lofty demeanor has all but shattered, because now every time he tries to act aloof, like when yue qingyuan gives him a present or liu qingge shows up on his doorstep, his sweet, pleased scent betrays him.

the opposite is true, as well, when without-a-cure flares up and he's in pain and his scent goes sour and distressed, even when he's waving everyone off saying he's fine. the entire house smells of burnt tea leaves and ash after a nightmare, and shen qingqiu is very confused when liu qingge comes to pick him up for a meeting but then refuses to leave.

anyway he doesn't find out until after the conference when airplane tells him to keep his acrid scent under control, his house is starting to stink.

Killer is the only one Nightmare can't track down easily, since he can feel the others by emotion but can't usually sense Killer's unless he's in stage 1.

This is a small part of why he and Color got off on the wrong foot, because the first time Color and Killer met was when he was helping Dream fight them and he managed to pull Killer away from the main fight to try and reason with him. While they were doing that, Nightmare decided to retreat but couldn't see Killer around and couldn't find him using emotions, so he had to leave without him. (He did return later to scour the place and found Killer waiting for him, since he'd refused Color's offer to go with them.)

This became a running theme, where sometimes after a battle Killer would be gone without a trace because he was off fighting/talking with Color and Nightmare would have to come back for him later. It's also what makes Nightmare a little uneasy in present day about Killer running off to hang out with Color sometimes, because if Color succeeds in convincing Killer not to return, Nightmare has no way of tracking him down anymore. He just has to trust that Killer will return at some point, and wait.

My stars this prompt is great I could have gone any number of directions but this one was too great to not write:

“You set me up on a WHAT?” Hera gaped at her friend in horror.

“A blind date,” Omega said, looking way too cheerful about the prospect. “Listen— we think you’ve been spending too much time working. The Empire’s not going to be overthrown overnight, and you need to spend some time on yourself. Like going on a date!”

There was a lot to unpack in that sentence. Hera decided to focus on it one part at a time. “We?”

“My brothers and I.”

Hera’s eyebrows shot up. “THEY’RE INVOLVED IN THIS?”

Omega nodded. “Hunter said he knows the perfect young man. Smart, kind, hates the Empire— you’ll love him!”

Letting out a long sigh, Hera said, “Omega, you know I don’t have time for that kind of thing. It’s just not a priority, not while the Empire’s still around.”

“I know,” Omega said, putting a hand on her arm. “But life doesn’t stop just because the Empire needs to be fought. Just think about it— I’m going to go check it with Echo.”

Hopping up from her seat, she headed across the restaurant to where her brother was sitting. Hera let out a long sigh, staring out across the open sea below them. She should have known visiting Pabu again was a bad idea.

“You okay?”

Glancing up, Hera saw a dark haired man standing nearby her table. She almost told him that it was none of his business— but there was something like genuine curiosity in his eyes. “Meddling friends,” she said.

The man snorted. “Oh, I know the type. Why my love life is any of their business is beyond me.”

“Exactly!” Hera said, throwing her hands up in the air. “Maybe I happen to have more important things going on than romance. And Force only knows with Omega’s friends, I’ll probably get stuck with someone insane.”

The corner of the man’s mouth tipped up in a grin. “Probably.”

“I’m back, and I brought snacks— oh, hi, Kanan!”

Hera turned at Omega’s cheerful voice. “I didn’t know you were already here,” the young woman continued, setting down the plates she’d been carrying. “And I see you met Hera.”

Slowly, Hera turned to face the man she’d been talking to. “You know the type, huh?” she said, raising a very pointed eyebrow.

He had the good sense to look a little sheepish. “In my defense, I wasn’t totally sure that it was you she was setting me up with. And I’m… less opposed to it now.”

Hera couldn’t say that she wasn’t less opposed as well. But she definitely wasn’t going to admit it. Folding her arms, she said, “Well, consider this your opportunity to convince me.”

Kanan grinned. “I like a challenge.”

Neither of them saw Omega smirking as she took a drink from her beverage.

(mgv) even when they're helping each other with their cycles they're still..... open? i guess? they're not exclusive, or dating, or even bondmates, which is.... fine. wilson sometimes tries to encourage house to look for a serious partner, which house tends to flake on most of the time. hookups are one thing but a serious thing, ehhh.... house does not return this sentiment for wilson when he has someone new on his arm. the fact house keeps himself from growling at her is as far as his good deed goes on that front.

new brain worms: omega in general. machine who lacks love, compassion, and empathy entirely and instead actively chooses to follow a moral code that aligns with rouge's ideals because she's a friend. rouge enabling his built-in desire to engage in violence and destruction. his hatred of eggman that he developed while guarding shadow being encouraged and enforced during heroes, reprogramming it from a dormant and unclear conflict of interests to a well-established and fully simulated feeling. him being perfectly content with lacking most emotions outside of hatred because emulating emotions is taxing on the hardware, but also knowing that those around him find his half-hearted attempts at showing other emotions humorous from time to time and choosing to give a soulless "yippee" at appropriate times anyway. him observing and gathering data on the social interactions of those around him to understand his friends better, even if he must refer to that database every time in casual conversation that involves more than yelling about destruction and his superiority

Ok but imagine tech is actually alive somehow. Cryo, med pod, somehow survived being stabbed and electrocuted, whatever, and the Batch figure this out and come back to find him. But instead of some drawn out search Tech just... casually limps out of the jungle covered in mud and makeshift camouflage with the Zillo beast trailing behind him like the worlds largest guard dog.

I have an idea that might solve your whole 'Host being part of final boss but also secret boss' problem.

Being that if and how you fight Omega Host is what decides whether or not Mike ends up in Castletown.

Mostly because I just couldn't get behind the post about how with no secret boss fight he just heads to the town and just leaves without knowing where Host is. They're too close for Mike to just go 'oh well you musta left them behind u suck'.

So what if instead; by the end, when you face him and whatever boss mooks he whips up to fight you at the fountain, he seems distracted. When you beat him and are about to go close the fountain, his main concern is that Host is awol.(at this point character development lets him let you close the fountain so that's settled) so he goes off to find them while you finish up business in Home before closing it off.

And this is where Omega comes in. All secret bosses so far have partially tested toby's whole 'how far will you go to find every secret' deal. First by making you find key fragments then by doing the key-basement fetchquest. This one tests how much you've actually been listening to the npc's. Throughout the chapter there are various hints about where to go and what to do("host's being hanging out at X lately", the signal is strongest at X",etc.). Rather than being told what to get and where to go, you use such info to figure out where to find the boss arena.

Mike going looking is the prompt to put all that info together, but of course plenty of players will find Omega way before then. If you do, then at the fountain fight, you tell Mike what happened(Susie does it despite Ralsei's objections). He refuses to believe you, and once you show him Host's item, he's enraged that you hurt his beloved and a much harder form of the final fight ensues. On losing, he either despairs and lets you take him to Castletown or bitterly storms off to wait to be turned to stone depending on your relationship with him(like how Birdly may or may not hurt his arm depending on previous choices).

If you do wait to do the fight until Mike goes to find Host, then you walk in on him and about-to-transform Host. Tragic dialog ensues, Host goes nightmare tower, and the fun gang jumps into the ring. Mike keeps begging Host to stop, and once again based on previous choices, will eventually either help you vie support magic or help Host the same way(fight's much much harder if Mike helps Host). If he helped you, the ending in the room video happens. If he helped Mike, he begs you to kill him to(you can't, Ralsei stops you) and then runs off to await stone-oblivion.

And if you never fight Omega at all, then that's the last time anyone sees Mike. No one ever knows what happened to either of the Home leaders.

I appreciate the determination to write your own take on it LOL :B But the Omega Host fight is something I'm trying to keep under wraps for now until I'm able to properly show it :) So I can't fully explain some of the decisions that went into it as they fall into spoiler territory

Mike doesn't know that Host went to do secret boss things nor are you given a chance to tell him, he just figures that Host will tag along when they're moved to Castle Town, in a "We'll meet there" sort of deal.

He's busy because [Spoilers] and he figures Host is multitasking as much as he is.

But Mike and Host get separated in every route except for Voltrage (My AU's weird route), which is the worst ending they can have

I also have a much different idea for how the quest for Host goes, but like I mentioned, it's spoilers so I don't want to speak much of it as of yet ^^ Mike can't come along because he wouldn't want Host to do it, and Host knows he'd be able to talk them out of it.

They also know it's dangerous for a darkner as fragile as Mike is. He could never join them in Omega form, I'm almost certain it would kill him and Host is not taking that risk.

I can say something though. Host does not want to be followed. And they do not want you to interfere with their plans. This applies to Mike as well, though their priority is making sure he does not get hurt.

But yeah, Mike always ends up alone in Castle Town unless it's the Voltrage route. He puts up a happy front to Fun Gang because he does not want them to see the grief he's going through because of Host being gone.

At the end of the chapter, he does care about them too, and as much as he loves Host, he understands that the kids had no choice but to defend themselves.
