So after a long while of not associating with the HP fandom, i had to do the research again for the houses and i was reading this and i think I've decided on the houses. I would also like to thank you guys for the suggestions in the comments! This would be a long post so if anyone is curious with my choices, you can check it below the cut and there'll be some short explanations.
For Shen Qingqiu/Shen Yuan, he will be Slytherin. He's ambitious (even if it's only to survive), cunning and resourceful (he adapts to his situation quick and uses everything he can to his advantage and schemes for his own survival) and he's determined (again to survive yes). He has the machiavellian tendencies, a tendency to surround himself with powerful ppl to ensure his safety and well we can clearly see his discrimination or at least the way he views ppl who seem to be less in terms of IQ (yes i am aware he doesn't openly hates and discriminate them, I'm simply mentioning the thoughts)
For Shang Qinghua, I'm going to give you guys what you want and make him a Slytherin too. He fits in Hufflepuff too bcs of his loyalty and dedication but he gets to be in Slytherin bcs he too, is ambitious, determined and resourceful just like SQQ. He takes pride in his works despite not many people appreciating it, he was still proud of PIDW despite having to succumb to the peer pressure and not being able to write it in the way he actually wants to. He's not afraid to do what it takes in order to survive and is cunning.
For Mobei-Jun, I can see why you guys say he would fit in Hufflepuff due to how much he values loyalty but he has too much conflicting personality to fit in there so I'm putting him in Gryffindor. He is courageous and daring as seen in the Moshang extra despite the extreme risk there is for him to inherit the power without a guard. Even when he wasn't in a good condition, he still tried his best to protect SQH and stand up against his uncle. MBJ is also quite the hot-headed person and could be pretty reckless as seen a few times. He also could be a bit arrogant about himself.
Last but not least we have Luo Binghe and despite the many suggestions I see ppl give for what suits him, I'm going with the one that nobody suggested and it is Ravenclaw. Why Ravenclaw? LBH is actually quite the intelligent person, SQQ mentions how LBH has read every book in SQQ's house and he has a curiosity to learn new things. He catches up to new things that he learns fast and he still progressed nicely even with the wrong textbook given to him. He figures things out fast (example: figuring out the SQQ in his dream is the actual SQQ and other stuffs) and easily catches on SQQ's lies (we see SQQ mentioning how LBH knows he was lying bcs he has read all the books in the bamboo house and knows what SQQ just said was never mentioned in any of the books). He has a uh 'creative' way to solve his problems and his individuality could easily be seen bcs he does what he wants whenever he wants (unless it involves his shizun but its not like its that hard to make him succumb). LBH is also someone who pretty much disconnects himself from the outside world and only cares about life with his shizun and purposefully isolates himself from others as seen by the cottagecore life he has with SQQ. Lastly, he could be pretty arrogant about himself and his abilities and gets jealous due to his insecurities and other things easily which easily sets off his anger.
Okay svsss fandom give me your thoughts
So i was thinking about that scene where sqq jokingly asks the system if it ever worked with the harry potter franchise before and got inspired to write a harry potter au for svsss. The characters that would be involved are bingqiu and moshang but i can't figure out what Hogwarts house they would be in so do tell me your ideas.
How the story would go?
Basically the system malfunctions and suddenly transmigrated the 4 of them into the Harry Potter world. They can only escape if they help protect Harry and figure out who's the evil person trying to kill him (it's going to be centered in book 1). The problem? None of them knows about Harry Potter and so they're in a panic trying to solve who the evil person is without realizing Harry practically could not be killed because of the prophecy.
#svsss#moshang#bingqiu#harry potter au#i'm just rambling at this point bcs i have no friend that reads svsss and i always need to ramble to somebody about my ideas and stuff#i'd tell my friend that i always talk about interests that we don't have in common but she wouldn't really understand#anyways SQQ and SQH being roommates would make it easier for them to scheme together but they would fight sooo much#their other roommates are just tired of listening them argue so much#meanwhile their respective husbands are just pissed they're separated from them#it doesn't bother MBJ that much tho bcs he for some reason is still good at sneaking in and appearing on SQH's bed#it freaks and causes a LOT of commotion among the other slytherins bcs 'WHY IS A GRYFFINDOR HERE'#moshang exchange scarves bcs i think mobei would dislike the red and gold and prefers qinghua's silver and green#it confuses ppl bcs qinghua being a gryffindor makes sense by appearance but you're telling them the cold mysterious one is the gryffindor?#at some point the slytherins just accept the gryffindor and ravenclaw that keeps sneaking into their dorm#mostly bcs they also fit in well with the other slytherins#the 4 of them being classmates would annoy their other classmates so much#bcs first you have this one slytherin that just looks tired and stressed and the ravenclaw always follows him around#why does the absolutely handsome student always follows that slytherin while acting absolutely pathetic and crying shizun every second#and then there's the slytherin and gryffindor duo where the slytherin always seems to get bullied by the other#they look like master and servant of some kind but then if anyone tries to approach the other then they would be so incredibly protective#and why are the 4 of them always seem to be closely paying extra attention to the Boy Who Lived????

HD Party Games fic recs
Here are a few drarry fic recs in which party games play an important part. Listed in alphabetical order, as always.
Back to You by @aibidil & daisymondays [8k]
The eighth years make Harry and Malfoy go head to head and back to back in a question-and-answer drinking game. The worst that can happen is they end up drunk, right?
Boom Clap (The Sound of My Heart) by @femmequixotic and @noeeon [39k]
Post-war Hogwarts has been energized by its new teaching fellows program. Where once bitter enmity divided the wizarding community, Malfoy and Potter chummily patrol hallways together whilst Granger and Zabini seek lost parts of the castle at McGonagall’s behest and Chang supervises Quidditch when not lecturing in Charms. It’s a veritable wizarding utopia and life is predictable for the first time in years. Which is, of course, when everything blows apart as the result of a drunken dare and Malfoy’s life is ruined beyond his capacity to repair it. Ever. In a million years.
check this hand 'cause I'm marvelous by @lqtraintracks [7k]
Harry's had a crush on Malfoy for months now. But it will take a bar full of his friends, some Firewhisky, wagers made on his behalf, and Malfoy himself to get him to act on it.
Erase the Shame by FleetofShippyShips [6k]
An Inter-House unity party is the last thing Draco wants to go to. It's not long into a game of Truth or Dare when he is reminded why. But maybe his dare is worth it after all.
Exceeds Eggspectations by Elle Gray (LGray) [61k]
Eighth year. Winter. Christmas has been and gone. Harry’s just been dumped and so has Malfoy. There’s a stupid fake baby assignment to be done, and what’s the harm in doing it together, really, when life is this shit already? This is not slow burn, this is a roman candle pointed at a pile of dry twigs that represent your heart.
Games Night by @agentmoppet [6k]
Harry has no idea why Hermione decided that an inter-house Games Night would be a good idea, but he’s here now, and he intends to beat Malfoy, no matter what game he chooses. But, who would have thought muggle games could be full of so much... tension?
How to Handle an Enemy by who_la_hoop [7k]
Everyone knows that it’s no fun playing truth or dare with a Slytherin. But add a little Veritaserum, a scheming duo of Slytherin girls and surprising things can be revealed. Particularly about the fine line between love and hate… Turnbout Is Fair Play by who_la_hoop [10k] After a – cough – revealing game of truth or dare instigated by his fellow Slytherins, Draco Malfoy finds himself in possession of a). the interesting knowledge that a certain Gryffindor horror may not be as immune to his personal charms as hitherto suspected and b). the password to the Gryffindor Tower. But Draco makes a fundamental error when he decides to make use of these facts.
Love, Harry by Zzzara [26k]
Harry Potter keeps a huge secret: that scary thing he can’t tell anyone about. Until a mysterious penfriend changes his life, because he keeps a secret, too.
Never Have I Ever Thought That You Might Want Me, Too by @drarrymyheart [8k]
“When it’s his turn, Ron gives Harry an ominous look. “Never have I ever wanted to kiss any of the boys in this room.” Harry freezes. Dean, Seamus, Hermione, Hannah, Pansy, and even Blaise are all immediately lifting their drinks. Malfoy moves to pick his up as well and Harry tracks the movement as if watching in slow-motion…The ridge of Malfoy’s bottle of cider pushes against his lower lip as he takes a sip. Harry nearly groans. Steeling himself, Harry drinks.” Harry and the crew take a ski trip. Harry can’t seem to keep his eyes and thoughts off a certain blonde.
One Night at the Leaky by birdsofshore [41k]
Harry should have known better than to accept a drunken dare. Especially when Malfoy was sitting right there, looking like that and wearing those bloody tight trousers.
A Perfectly Valid Dare by kitty_fic [5k]
“It’s a perfectly valid dare,” Pansy says, and somehow she looks like she actually believes what she says. “I am not doing that,” Draco insists. He really has no idea when daring someone to wank in Harry Potter’s bed became a perfectly valid dare?
Right Hand Red by @lqtraintracks [73k]
Harry felt Malfoy’s breath on his lips as they came together over the bottle, hands firmly planted on the floor as though they each needed their familiar soil, refusing to cross into enemy territory. Except that Malfoy no longer felt like his enemy. Malfoy felt inevitable.
Silk Scarves and Enchanted Handcuffs by TommyLane [28k]
It was only supposed to be for seven minutes and then the blindfold would come off and he'd be free from the dark cupboard and his mystery partner - only Harry was no longer sure he wanted it to end.
Starts With a Spin by Maxine [119k]
It started with the spin of a bottle, and now Harry and Draco have gotten themselves so far into their own game there's almost no way out again. Except to keep playing.
Truths, Dares, and Love Affairs by @ronbinary [17k]
NEWTs are approaching, Mind Healing is mandatory, and something is wrong with the castle. And then, there’s Potter.
When I Put My Eyes On You by Zzzara [31k]
When a hero defeats a villain, there’s supposed to be a happily-ever-after… but when did anything ever happen to Harry Potter the way it was supposed to? Having sacrificed himself to the greater good, Harry is left alone in the darkness, blindly groping for the shreds of the life he knew. When the enemies meet, how is the story supposed to go, once they learn there’s more to it than the eye can see? A story of pain, hope and things we discover, once we stop looking for them with our eyes.
where all the veins meet by eight_of_wands [146k]
It’s the summer of 1998. The battle is over, and Voldemort is dead, but Harry still has more questions than answers. Who is he without a piece of Voldemort’s soul in his head? What is he supposed to do now? His friends try to help, but the only thing that can hold his attention—one of the only things that ever has—is Draco Malfoy, out on parole and weirdly hanging around the British Museum. As they keep running into each other, Harry sees that Malfoy is different, and he wonders if he can be someone else, too. Featuring rumpled band shirts, poker games everyone hates, fumbling sex, and a Harry going a little mental over how wands even work.
I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I did!

bts in Harry Potter ⚯͛ ▕⃝⃤ ϟ 9¾
You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve, and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart;
Captain of the quidditch team, he and jimin are best friends even if the duo couldn't be more different. A hopeless romantic, denies jimin the pleasure of taking him on his love haunts. Smart in school, loyal and kind, he is the perfect boy, and you noticed, dear Merlin if you did. Since Jimin had introduced you both, you seemed to stumble upon him everywhere you went, only to realize, in front of a butterbeer that you both have fallen hopelessly in love.
Plays Beater in Quidditch, he and his bff jungkook are the power couple of the School. He's a player, the worst, famous for having broke so many hearts it's hard to say his name around the Castle without hearing a girl cry. Proud Gryffindor, he has colored his hair bright red for his house once and liked it so much he decided to just keep it.
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind, Where those of wit and learning, Will always find their kind;
The smartest of his house, he's the brightest achievement of the Revenclaws' since its foundation. Headboy, captain of the quidditch team, is also known for being the number one answer when asked people about their first crush at Hogwarts; if you say you never thought about Kim Namjoon as your lover, you're lying.
Or perhaps in Slytherin You'll make your real friends, Those cunning folks use any means To achieve their ends.
Looks tough, has a soft spot: you. Befriending the boy in your second year, you both have grown inseparable; surviving your teenage years with him by your side had you know one thing: people should know better than to mess with you. Your ride or die honestly.
Looks innocent, is lethal. Hates quidditch and everyone who plays it. Gives this mysterious, narcissistic boy vibe; bad for him, you're worse. Being the first who had the guts of talking back to him when he was being petty, he liked you instantly, but it's not like he can tell you, so you're stuck in this enemies-who-wish-to-be-lovers thing. People call you Queen and King of Slytherin, you can't change my mind.
You might belong in Hufflepuff, Where they are just and loyal, Those patient Hufflepuffs are true And unafraid of toil;
You thought Hufflepuff were lame till you met this boy; still shocked that he wasn't sorted into Slytherin you catch him one day petting a Thestral in the forbidden forest, a smile on his face and suddenly you realize why. Getting to know Kim Taehyung had been a dark and difficult ride, but once you're in, you can't seem to come out. You can't think of a person who knows you better than this boy.
Sweetest boy you know, once helped you with your transfiguration's spells and still takes the blame for having turned the professors' pet into a pot. After that incident you engraved his name on the left side of your heart; there was no way you were not gonna become best friends after this.

The five times James Potter asked you to marry him
(and the one time he meant it)
Pairing: James Potter x Slytherin!Reader
Warnings: 18+, Sexual content, swearing
Word Count: 3.6K
A/N: I saw this done with Fred somewhere but can’t remember who it was that wrote it, so thought I’d do the same with our boy James. There is also a lil bit of smutty goodness within this so please don’t read if this offends you or if you are underage!
One
The first time James Potter asked you to marry him was when he first met you.
Quidditch season had begun and Gryffindor vs Slytherin was the first game, enticing everyone to the stands to watch the two rival teams battle it out. James was aware of the new team members he was playing against, but blissfully unaware of how one of them was you.
Their Gryffindor keeper had just saved a goal from your teammate, throwing the quaffle to James, only for it to be stolen from his grasp before he could blink.
“What the-”
His eyes caught sight of your green quidditch robes as you zipped away, throwing the quaffle for another goal and succeeding as it soared through. The Slytherin stands erupted into cheers, but James could barely focus on it as he was too focused on you.
Shaking it off, James pushed himself to focus on the game again, more determined to score, yet when you somehow stole the quaffle away from him another time, he couldn’t help but laugh.
Had Slytherin finally recruited a decent quidditch player?!
The sarcastic thought barely slipped through his mind before the quaffle vanished from his hands a third time.
“Prongs!” Sirius flew up beside him, pointing his beater’s bat towards him in an accusing way, “stop giving her the bloody quaffle!”
James just rolled his eyes before flying off towards you with the intent to nick it back.
Whilst you easily avoided a bludger that Sirius had hit towards you, James quickly pinched back the quaffle in the split second you were distracted. With a cheeky grin in your direction, he winked and flew towards the Slytherin goals.
After that, it became more of a game between the two of you rather than the actual match. Stealing the quaffle back and forth had you both snickering at the other when they lost it.
With the commentator suddenly breaking the information that the two seekers were in a battle to catch the snitch, James’ attention shifted for just a moment to watch, which was just long enough for you to steal the quaffle away once more, just as the game ended.
Noticing the quaffle no longer in his grip, his attention shot to you where you held up the ball with a grin, winking back at him.
Despite the two of you messing around with each other the whole game, neither of you had said a word to the other. Breaking the silence between the two of you, James couldn’t help but laugh, despite the fact Gryffindor had just lost after Regulus Black had caught the snitch for Slytherin.
“Marry me.” He grinned widely at you as you smiled back just as big.
“Not today.” You snickered, winking at him once more before flying down to join your team.
Sirius appeared beside his best mate with an odd expression on his face, having just witnessed the exchange.
“Am I missing something?”
James just chuckled, but his gaze stayed on you, watching as you cheered along with you team at the win. He wasn’t aware of who you were before the game, but he was very aware of you now.
Two
Despite the fact you were sorted in Slytherin, you didn’t get along with certain members of your house. The common room always seemed to be the hotspot for wannabe dark wizards who publicly shared their common views on blood status and who wasn’t worthy of studying magic.
It was something you didn’t agree with and so avoided as much as you could. This was why you sought your refuge in one of the alcoves off the third floor corridor. It was quiet and you didn’t get nearly as distracted as you would if you had stayed in the common room, or even the library for that matter.
Hearing a loud swear and then the sound of feet pounding down the corridor, you couldn’t help but be curious. Sticking your head out, you had to admit you weren’t surprised to see a panicked James Potter and Sirius Black running down the corridor towards you.
The loud shout from behind them, which could only have come from Professor McGonagall, followed them as it echoed down the hall.
The corridor came to a dead end and the two friends shared a look of dread. Before you knew what came over you, you stuck your head out and whispered to them.
“Psst,” their attention was immediately on you, “in here.”
Stepping out of your spot, the two boys clambered in as you walked down the corridor to come face to face with a furious Professor McGonagall.
“Miss Y/L/N,” she controlled her anger as she questioned you, “have you seen Mr Potter or Mr Black come down here?”
“The two Gryffindors?” You inquired, your face void of anything that would give you away, “not down here, no, though judging from the noise and smell of chaos, I think they went that way.”
Pointing down the direction of the opposite hall, the professor thanked you before turning and storming down it, turning the corner at the end and disappearing from sight.
With a snicker, you turned and headed back to find both James and Sirius with huge grins on their faces.
“Oh, you’re not just a normal Slytherin are you?!” James gleamed, stepping forward, out of the hiding spot.
“A normal Slytherin?!”
“Conniving, back stabbing, selfish.” Sirius listed off, “my entire family’s full of them, but you are different.”
“Glad I could break the Stereotype.” You shrugged a shoulder, before your attention shifted to James. “What did you two do anyway which set off McGonagall like that?!”
The pair of Gryffindor’s looked slightly sheepish suddenly as if they were reluctant to say.
“Uhhh, maybe because we set up a prank for some Slytherins’ to drop honey and feathers on them as they walked through the Great Hall, but McGonagall ended up walking through it instead.” James grimaced at the memory of how furious the teacher was.
“Well that was stupid,” you snorted whilst grabbing your bag from the floor, “she obviously just vanished it. Next time you should definitely add a sticking charm so they can’t just magic it away. Oh and get the right target. As far as I’m concerned, the Slytherin’s that are the biggest dickheads are fair game, deal?”
“Marry me.” James gazed at you like you just discovered the stars.
With a small laugh and a roll of your eyes, your attention was quickly drawn to a piece of folded parchment on the ground which you were sure wasn’t yours.
“What’s this?” You questioned as you caught sight of the front. “Messers Moony, Wormta- hey!”
“Nothing!” Sirius said quickly, snatching it from your grip and tucking it away.
“Yeah because if it was nothing, you wouldn’t just rip it out of my hands now?!” You snickered, “you know if you really don’t want it to be read, you should put a password phrase on it to at least make it look like it’s nothing.”
“Actually, that’s not a bad idea.” Sirius grinned, “you know, you’re not that bad.”
“So I’ve been told.” You laughed back at him, completely missing how James was grinning at you with utter wonder in his eyes.
Three
After inspiring the Gryffindor duo with both the prank idea and how to further the map, you didn’t expect that James and Sirius would rarely leave you alone.
Because of this, you were introduced to Remus and Peter since both James and Sirius had determined you should be friends, especially when you could give them inside knowledge on which Slytherins to go after.
You weren’t sure how to feel about it at first, but after a while it became natural to sit with the boys for breakfast or dinner.
You also didn’t expect to see Amycus Carrow walk through the common room late one evening, mysteriously covered in honey and feathers after relaying a snide comment to you about your newfound friends.
The satisfaction you got from seeing Carrow try to explain there was obviously a sticking charm, preventing him from vanishing the sticky mess to his friends, was so much better than you could’ve imagined. You told the boys that very thing the next day.
It also wasn’t long before James took the plunge and asked you out to Hogsmeade.
The two of you had grown close despite your different houses, yet you both couldn’t deny there was a major attraction between you. (Something Sirius constantly commented on.)
Which was why you found yourself in the Three Broomsticks with James, laughing over butterbeers with story he told you.
“So then Remus enters the room to find it destroyed with Sirius handcuffed to his bed, naked, with only a pillow covering him. And you know what he said, like any other Tuesday? ‘I heard they’re serving Pie for dinner tonight’.”
“I’m telling you, those Ravenclaw girls are devious! Maybe even more so than us Slytherins!”
“Well if it’s any consolation, I would hate to get on your bad side.” James grinned at you, raising his glass.
“I’ll drink to that.” You snickered, clinking your glass with his.
“Well well, I wouldn’t have expected to see you in here with this riffraff, Y/N.” A cold voice was heard from behind you. “Then again, you did always hang around with the wrong sort, a blood traitor no less.”
Turning around, your eyes met the steely blue ones of Lucius Malfoy.
“Don’t call me by my first name like we’re friends, Malfoy. And for the record, at least I don’t associate myself with wannabe death eaters, like your friends.”
To further your point, your eyes flickered over to the group where Malfoy was originally sat, the group containing the Carrows, Mulciber and Snape.
Lucius’ expression was tight, yet both James and you could see the look of hate in his eyes.
“You should leave.” James stood to match Lucius’ height as he rounded the table, effectively putting himself between the two of you. The two men stared each other down.
“And why should I?” Lucius questioned back, his voice cold.
“Because it would be an absolute shame if anyone found out about your midnight visitor the other night. Right, Malfoy?” You questioned with a innocent look on your face.
Standing up and linking your arm with James’, Lucius’ eyes snapped to you as you held his expression with a stern one of your own.
“A Hufflepuff, wasn’t she? And a muggleborn no less. Which is weird because, aren’t you engaged to Narcissa Black? I wonder what her family would think, them being the ‘Noble House of Black’ and all?”
Lucius looked furious, but you held his glare firmly, only for him to step back a few moments later, allowing a space for you to pass. Pulling James along with you, you headed towards the door with a spring in your step like you hadn’t just blackmailed one of the Slytherin prefects.
“Ooh, can we go to Honeydukes? I need to stock up on chocolate frogs.”
James was stunned, captivated and slightly aroused.
Watching you take on Malfoy like it was nothing more than a brain training activity, made him laugh in wonder as the two of you exited onto the street.
You kept talking about the new limited edition sugar quills before you paused, realising James wasn’t really listening to you anymore.
“Hey, you alright?”
“Marry me.”
With a grin, you just linked arms with him again, the two of you heading in the direction of the sweet shop, a growing list of sugary items to buy.
Four
With a groan of pleasure, James pulled you tighter to him as you moaned out his name, your hands wound in his hair making it appear a lot messier than usual.
The two of you had graduated Hogwarts only a few months ago, and after dating for just over two years, James asked you to move in with him once you finished school.
The small flat the two of you shared was found in Diagon Alley, above the quidditch shop, which you wondered whether he had planned or not when he first suggested you view the place. Sirius and Remus had their own flat which the former had bought for the two with the money he had inherited from uncle, after being disowned from his family.
Your small group of friends supported him the best you could, which included Sirius moving in with James and his parents for a while as they finished Hogwarts. Yet, when they entered the final months of their seventh year at school, Sirius insisted he would look for his own place, not wanting to intrude longer than he already had, not that the Potters’ would call him staying with them an intrusion of any kind.
“Fuck, Y/N.” James gasped out as he quickened his pace, thrusting into you faster as you christened the different rooms.
You had both started in your bedroom before moving to the living room, kitchen and then the bathroom, before ending up back in your room once more.
His lips met your own as you pulled him by his neck closer to you, wrapping you legs around his waist tighter, effectively getting James to hit a spot deep within you, causing you to cry out in pleasure.
Quickening his pace, James used his expert fingers to bring you closer to your brink, before you gasped out loudly, quickly reaching your climax. The feeling of you coming around him had James grunting out, thrusting harder to chase his own release.
Gripping your headboard, he came with a groan, muttering your name over and over as he pulled you close to him, both of you basking in the bliss that came from the several orgasms you’d both experienced over the last few hours.
“Marry me.” James murmured into you hair, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
“Maybe later.” You chuckled, exhaustion now hitting you hard as you both relaxed back in bed. “Too tired now.”
James snickered as he pulled a blanket over the two of you, finding a comfortable position as you curled up together, both utterly content within that perfect moment.
Five
A lot had changed since you left Hogwarts and being inducted into the Order of the Phoenix was just one of them.
Your closest friends were also recruited which both reassured you and terrified you. As much as you were glad that you were fighting on the right side of the war with the people you could trust with your life, if anything happened to any of them, you don’t know what you’d do.
It was suppose to be a small mission, just quick enough to gain intel for the Order which was why Moody chose only a select few of you to complete it.
James, Remus and you, accompanied by Lily Evans, who you had been properly introduced to in your seventh year, were the four chosen for the task. This of course had annoyed Sirius to no end as he hadn’t been picked and constantly moaned about it the few days prior.
Accidentally setting off the taboo alarm, death eaters apparated before you causing the four of you to split into two’s, fighting back to back.
Quickly hitting the three death eaters before you with a stunning spell, you turned and shot another ‘stupefy’ at one who had their wand aimed at Lily. She successfully took out a couple more as she was back to back with you, sharing a grin at how well both of your training had helped you.
Glancing over at James unconsciously, you spotted one sneak up behind him as he was separated from Remus after one death eater blew up the floor beneath them.
With the first spell that flew to mind, you aimed your wand at the advancing threat, shooting a bat bogey hex at them, just as their killing curse missed James by inches, only for him to be hit by a weak confundus charm.
You were certain your heart skipped several beats due to the stress and anxiety as you dropped to your knees next to him on the ground. His nose was obviously broken from one spell shot at him and a dazed expression was present on his face.
Taking his face in between your hands, you quickly got a good look at him to check for more injuries as Lily and Remus stunned the last of the attackers and started to round them up.
“James, can you hear me?”
“Y/N,” he grinned widely, “what are you doing here?”
“Saving your arse from being killed.” You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the small smile on your face at how dopey your boyfriend looked.
“You always save my arse, I think you quite like my arse really.” James snickered loudly like he had just told a funny joke. “I think you might want to marry my arse. Ooh, I think you should really marry me though.”
You chuckled at him, quickly fixing his broken nose and helping him up.
“It means you’ll have to actually propose to me then, with a proposal better than that, my love.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
James nodded, deep in thought before his eyes lifted to spot Remus and immediately he waved an arm to try get his attention.
“MOONY! I NEED YOUR HELP TO PROPOSE.”
Six
The truth was, as much as James joked about it, and as much as he said it within the span of meeting you, you did not expect it for one moment when he actually asked you to marry him.
Saturday started off as any normal weekend would.
With the promise from Dumbledore to call only if it was an emergency, your group of friends was given the day off and so a plan was set in motion to have dinner at yours and James’ flat. Despite popular belief, James could actually cook very well and so insisted on whipping up a roast dinner for you all, shooing you out of the kitchen when you tried to help.
Sitting around your dining table with your closest friends, you couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was the first in a while where everyone could relax slightly and take the time to enjoy themselves.
Remus and you were in a discussion about a book he had recommended to you, when James entered the room with the meal, putting it in the centre of the table. Whilst Sirius was avidly denying James could cook, Lily and you snickered between you as you watched the boys interact with each other.
The meal went by quickly, everyone enjoying their time together before Lily and you cleared the plates away as a compromise, after James cooked everything.
You didn’t suspect anything going on until you reentered the room to find the boys in a hushed discussion, giant smiles on their faces, jumping away from each other after noticing you return.
“Everything okay?” You asked slightly suspicious as the four boys shrugged off your concerns.
“Yeah, absolutely perfect, wanna sit down?” Sirius wrapped an arm around your shoulders, guiding you to the living room with the others following.
“You’re acting weird, Siri.”
“I am weird, honey, I was born into the House of Black.”
With a smile and narrowed eyes, you decided to ignore whatever secret it was the boys had, and focused on enjoying the time you had together.
It wasn’t until James stood and grabbed your hands, pulling you up from your seat, that you became slightly suspicious again.
“Y/N, if you don’t mind, I’d like to say something to you and all our friends.”
Wrapping an arm around your waist, he brought you closer to him, pressing a kiss to your head. Wrapping your own arm around his waist in turn, you cuddled close to him, feeling absolutely content.
“As we all know,” James began, catching the attention of the small group, “it had been an absolute shock for most of you hear today, that I can actually cook a meal and not poison anyone.”
A round of snickers passed around the group as James rolled his eyes at your reactions.
“We also all know that me being able to cook, is far from the most shocking thing to happen to us all. The biggest shock, was of course, the Gryffindor quidditch team losing to Slytherin when this little minx showed up and stole the show!”
“Here here!” Sirius agreed, lifting his glass of Firewhiskey in agreement.
“Another shock was also when I asked her on a date and she agreed, yet I think that was more Y/N’s mistake than anything.” James chuckled out, now looking slightly more nervous than he did before. “If we’re talking about biggest shocks throughout our relationship, her agreeing to move in with me was another, along with my shock when I discovered what she could do with her tongue-”
“James!”
“Ow! Okay, fine, no bedroom talk!”
The punch to his arm barely phased James’ smile though as he grinned at you so wholeheartedly, you think you might melt on the spot.
“Anyway, one thing that probably isn’t a shock is the countless times I’ve mentioned my intentions to you. Which is why...”
James unravelled his arm from your waist as he quickly caught something thrown at him by Remus, before dropping to one knee in front of you.
You were sure your heart had stopped.
“I’m now going to ask you again, legitimately this time.”
Opening up the small white box, a gorgeous diamond and ruby ring was readily positioned, shining up at you as your eyes flicked from the ring, to James and back repeatedly.
“Y/N, I know I’ve said this before, but please, marry me?!”
Throwing your arms around his neck, you must’ve repeated the word ‘yes’ over and over again as James proceeded to kiss you, before slipping the ring on your finger.
In that moment, surrounded by your closest friends and the man you loved more than anything, you felt the happiest you ever had and wished for nothing more than to live in that moment forever.

Piss Off
‘One Two Three Four, I declare a thumb war.’
‘Am I the only person who only knows how to flirt by pissing the other person off?’ Draco asked as he sat down at the Slytherin table for lunch. Thinking he’d be met with a chorus of agreement. ‘How you piss off Weasley this time?’ Pansy referring to Ron Weasley, the redhead that Draco was so smitten with. ‘He was trying to teach me this muggle children’s game, thumb wars? Think Granger had taught him. I pointed my wand at him instead.’
‘I’ll fight for you instead’
The duo were helping one another study for Snape’s class, Draco better at the subject than Ron. And not because Draco was a Slytherin or Snape being his godfather. Rather he was second when it came to top student, right behind Hermione Granger. Draco would occasionally ask himself why he didn’t ask her to help instead.
That line of questioning, unknown to Ron lead to boughs of time where Draco would zone out. Draco shoving him when he caught the Gryffindor staring. ‘Don’t look at me like that’
Ron never knew what he did wrong. Draco being akin to night and day. Vulnerable and kind, closed off and reserved the next. Ron would tough it out, wanting to know who Draco Malfoy was without the facade.
‘Speak my language’
Ron, whilst not a seeker, still liked to past time catching a snitch if it meant getting to spend time with Draco. But Draco seemed to be in a grumpy mood, stealing the snitch before Ron even had a chance to grab it.
‘Why so angry? When we fight romance.’ Ron dragging Draco closer by a necklace he wore under his sweater. ‘And you’ll always tell a lie before you lose.’ Draco ruffling his hair before letting the snitch go. Ron confused by his words, then again Ron is always confused by Draco. Unable to tell if he loves him or hates him for his inability to open up but he’ll wait. Wait until a time turner no longer works.
‘I’ll never understand.’
Draco sat in his dorm, remembering the conversation he had with Pansy. Her telling him to just admit his feelings to Ron. Gripping his hair, knees brought up close to his chest. Letting out a disgruntled ‘ahhhh.’ He doesn’t know why he can’t just say what’s on his mind. Hates it even, as he doesn’t mean to lead Ron on.
He wants to cuddle and go on dates with him—all the shit that couples do. But his brain won’t let him.
‘But I’ll take it if a thumb war is the closest to holding your hand.’
Both men smiling as Draco initiated the muggle game, Ron getting to properly teach him it this time. Without the animosity.

Hogwarts Bane (Sirius Black X Fem Reader) - Marauder Era
Word Count: 1.7K Warning: None (unless you count mischief)
(Y/N) had always been mischievous, it was a trait often associated with her. That was just whom she was. Her first year at Hogwarts had been almost boring, nothing out of the ordinary happened. She'd been sorted into Gryffindor by the sorting house, and quickly become friends with Melene McKinnon and Lily Evans. Just as she'd become the bane of James Potter's existence and that of several professors. The years following, a prank war of sorts had broken out between (Y/N) and the Marauders, although for the most part, it had been against James, Peter and Sirius would also join in from time to time. Remus often being the voice of reason, although he'd given (Y/N) some pointers on the odd occasion or purposely not warned James, Peter and Sirius when they walked into one of her traps.
"What do you mean you gave me the map? I have seen you since breakfast" stated James, suddenly concerned about the whereabouts of the map and whom could have hold of it. His voice just above a whisper, as he shouted. Attempting to keep his voice down so fellow students wouldn't hear what they were on about. Remus and Sirius nowhere to be found, likely still serving detention or in the library looking for the books needed to study. Although their sixth year, some were getting a head start for the NEWT's next year. Some just wanted to prepare themselves for future possibilities.
"I gave it to on the way to Defense against the Dark Arts" muttered Peter, as if suddenly realizing someone else had the map. The scrawny teenager suddenly began hoping, Sniverllus hadn't gotten it via polyjuice potion. It wasn't worth thinking about, what the Slytherin could do with the map. Not only would it help him immensely with whatever he did in his free time, but it would also allow him to see where they were at all times, thrust none of them would be able to get the jump on him. That being if he knew the password to it. "You asked what the password was to open and close it. Said it was to make sure it was me because someone was impersonating students and staff again" as the words left Peter's lips, James turned to him quickly, as if his worst fears had been realized.
"Wormtail you idiot" almost yelled James, before he could calm himself again. The situation was dire and far more important than studying or continuing on the prank war with (Y/N). At that moment Remus and Sirius entered the common room, Remus chuckling about something and Sirius' hair smoking slightly, his face also slightly blackened, as if something had blown up in his face. Yet none the less, the pure-blood wizard seemed cheery none the less, a grin on his lips as he continued his conversation with Remus. "You two wouldn't believe what's happened. Someone impersonated me and got the map from Peter. He gave them the passwords and all" angrily whispered yelled James, when the duo sat down at the open chairs. Remus placing the books down carefully, while Sirius attempted to put the blue flames smoking in his hair out.
"You mean this right?" came the voice of (Y/N) from behind James, the four turning their attention to her. Only to see her holding the blank parchment up, a wicked grin upon her lips as her eyes lit up with mischief again. She just managed to stifle her laugh upon seeing Sirius, it being clear he'd be hit with her antics on the grand staircase again. Just as James' reddened noses suggested he'd found the nose biting tea pot and matching cups, she'd left out to catch someone. "Quite the peace of magic you boys have there. Although you missed a few spots around the school" complimented the young Gryffindor student, her grin remained unmoved as James reached up to snatch the blank parchment from her.
"How did you brew the potion so fast?" asked James, not noticing the look Sirius and Remus shared. "Polyjuice potion take a month to brew, not even you could get everything and brew it without being detected" added Prongs, automatically assuming she had used the polyjuice potion, as if any other possibility was yet to enter his mind. "Wait, what do you mean we missed some places?" asked the teenager, as if it suddenly hit him what she said, which also confirmed she'd taken a peak at the map or at least used it for something.
"She didn't brew a potion mate. She's metamorphic" corrected Sirius, suddenly curious how James had missed the obvious signs, the mischief, clumsiness and her hair randomly changing colors at a moments notice. James looked up quickly, as if it all suddenly made sense. How she got away so quickly when he'd chased her down corridors, he'd be seconds behind her and find nothing when rounding corners. Even why Melene and Lily so often chuckled at him when he insisted one day he'd catch her. "Mind putting the flames out?" asked Sirius, stilling trying to figure out what powder she'd used for it, he'd yet to see anything like it and none of the spell or potion books had anything remotely similar. (Y/N) simply nodded before pulling out her wand, quietly waving it towards Sirius before putting it away again. "What did you use anyway?" continued Padfoot, noticing the fire didn't do any damage, it just smoked a little and never seemed to dire down no matter what he did. All he and Remus succeeded in doing was changing the color from purple to blue.
"A little concoction of mine" admitted (Y/N) revealing it wasn't a potion or spell to be found in a book, but instead something she had created herself. Putting the time she spent in detention to good use. "And yes James you missed some spots around the school. Couple of great hiding places and a hidden passage or two" elaborated (Y/N), a grin on her lips, although she didn't give any specifics. Peter merely looked on confused, as if he didn't really know what was going on, or had lost track of the conversation at some point.
"Of all the people to date Sirius, you had to pick the bane of my existence" spoke James, putting his head down on the table. Remus just laughed again, knowing (Y/N) was the bane of a lot of people's existence, mainly Slytherin students and professors. (Y/N) made a comment to correct something. Sirius rubbed James' hair to offer comfort, but a chuckle escaped him none the less. "Why did you impersonate me? Why not the others?" asked Prongs, suddenly curious why she had chosen him to impersonate rather than one of the others.
"Peter's too easy to impersonate. Remus was in plain sight so it would be easy for someone to notice. Sirius was with McGonagall. So that left you. Plus I like a challenge" commented (Y/N), seeing how Peter look to her, as if to protest about being easy to impersonate. He'd always prided himself on being a Marauder. Remus and Sirius simply nodded, as if seeing the logical reasoning behind them not being chosen, where as James simply smirked at the idea of challenging (Y/N). "Might want to watch for Snape. He thinks your up to something, hasn't quite dawned on him the second version of you, was actually me. Directed him towards a fire popper, same one Lily walked into" quickly added (Y/N) revealing one person had noticed something was up but not quite catching what. The half blood witch merely grinning mischievously as she skipped off towards the dorm stairs.
"How did your parents react?" asked Remus, recalling Sirius sending a letter home to inform his parents of his dating life. It was no secret Sirius would do anything to go against his family's traditions. This time it being whom one associated with and was in a relationship with. It was no secret (Y/N) was a half blood, something she was actually rather proud of. That and she wasn't known to care about another's blood status, instead she went by the person as a whole.
"Did the howler not give it away?" responded Sirius, chuckling as he held up the pink/red envelope, the one which had been whistling and almost growling, since receiving it that morning. He refused to open it, intending on seeing how long it took it to explode. Plus he knew what it would say anyway. Demands for him to break up with (Y/N), and a bunch of slurs and other insults thrown in her direction. A few other things about being disappointed in him and so on. "Planning to see how long it takes to explode" announced Padfoot, looking up just in time to see (Y/N) at the top on the balcony overlooking the common area. Lily and Melene coincidentally disappearing mere seconds later. (Y/N) simply winked in Sirius's direction before throwing the Fanged Frisbee over the balcony, it clearly been bewitched to follow people.
"Going old school now" commented Remus as he ducked, Peter having disappeared under the table, almost in hopes of it to protect him from the chaos. A hope that was soon destroyed by the ever bashing boomerang. As well as a few others things. "Bane of your existence James. She's the bane of Hogwarts at the moment" spoke Moony, once again ducking and making a b-line for the stairs. Just spotting Sirius catch the boomerang, before throwing it again with a smirk. Almost as if the whole thing was planned.
"Sirius" called James, finding cover behind one of the chairs. The eldest Black brother, soon looked over to his best friend, a smirk on his lips as he did so. "We should seriously consider recruiting (Y/N) rather than continuing the war. Seems we need to think of new tricks" commented James as one of the teacup latched on to his fingers, causing him to curse and yell out. Sirius seemingly agreed, suspecting the creative ideas (Y/N) often using them to cause mischief, and put others who prided themselves on being mischievous to shame. "Give her a kiss for me" commented Prongs, seeing Sirius's confusion, he stood confused for some minutes before being brought back to reality when the boomerang hit the back of his head.

Chapter Two: The News
Fred's POV:
After walking Stevie back to the Slytherin common room, I rushed towards the Fat Lady's portrait.
"Bauldersash!" I shouted, impatient to go talk to George.
"Hmmph, in a rush are we?" She hummed, crossing her arms.
"Yes! A big rush! Baulderdash!" I repeated.
"Alright alright, don't get your wand in a twist." Her frame swung open, revealing the hole behind it.
I ran straight through, ignoring the questioning stares from those who were heading off towards breakfast. I ran up the stairway on the left, shoving past Ron and Harry who were on their way down.
"Oi- watch where you're going mate!" Ron grumbled, eyes half open.
"You watch it! I've got places to be!" I called over my shoulder.
Once I reached my dormitory, I flung open the door. Lee and George were sitting on one of the beds, in a heated conversation. George hadn't bothered to get dressed, despite him having to be up for over an hour by now.
"Hiya Georgie! Interesting morning?" I gasped, trying to catch my breath.
"Save it. I don't even know if I want to hear what happened after we switched." He groaned.
"Listen, it was great. If she wasn't a Slytherin, I'd say she's perfect for you," I plopped down on the bed opposite of them. "You do, however, have a date with her next Saturday."
George's eyes went wide, horror flooding his features. "A date? A DATE?" He threw the pillow that was in his lap and my head, but I dodged it before it made contact.
"Why would you do that to me? You know how she makes me feel. How do you think I'm supposed to go on a date when I can barely speak to her?" George rambled.
"She's just a girl. You'll be-" I began, before George swiftly continued talking over me.
"And you know what? What if we switch? Then you'll be on a date with her. You know that we're more likely to accidentally switch when one of us is nervous. How do I explain that? And what if it goes well? And she wants to go out again? How do I explain to her that some days I'm not me, but I am me, just in a different body? She'll think I'm mental."
Lee grabbed George's shoulders and shook him gently "Merlins beard George- take a breath. Freddie did you a solid here, don't waste the opportunity.
"I have a plan for everything. I'll be nearby so that if we do switch, which we won't, we can just switch back! She won't notice anything." I ensured him, smiling brightly.
While switches happen randomly and tend to have no distance limit (albeit, we're never far away from each other), as long as we're close by, we can switch on our own accord. When taking exams- it's useful. I'm dreadful at Transfiguration, but George seems to get every spell almost immediately. Likewise, I'm much better at charms, allowing us to at least pass those classes easily.
"You think so?"
"I know so. Now get dressed- Wood wants us on the field after breakfast and I'm not about to let you make us miss food." Standing up, I headed towards the door to leave.
"You're the one who always makes us late!" George argued, climbing out of bed.
"Well I was up bright and early this morning- I even saw the sunrise!" I chortled, before shutting the door behind me and making my way back down the stairs to the common room.
~~~
Stevie's POV:
"Weasley? Really?" Blaise rolled his eyes, reaching over Draco for another croissant.
"He's really sweet! I think it'll be fun!" I reasoned.
"Talk about sleeping with the enemy." Adrien joked, shaking his head.
"It's about time you finally talked to him. I'm tired of you ogling over him during meets, instead of cheering us on." Draco sneered, picking his coffee up.
"I do not ogle! I just simply... admire. From a distance. Frequently."
"Whatever you say. I don't blame you honestly. He's quite fit and- 6'4 you said? I'd climb him like a tree too." Pansy snorted, enjoying Draco's disgusted face.
I blushed slightly before stuttering out "I'm not climbing anyone like a tree. It's just a date!"
"Mmm sure. Didn't you say the same thing about Higgs at the end of term party last year? I remember quite well trying to think of a spell to get rid of those love bites." Millicent chimed in, winking at me.
"I hate the lot of you," I stood up from the bench "I'm going back to the common room to start on McGonagall's essay. I don't know how they expect us to do well on OWLs if they're already bombarding us with homework."
"I haven't even thought about starting mine, so I could use the encouragement." Adrian got up from the table and stood beside me. "You four should enjoy how easy your fourth year is before it's over."
"I'll be sure to do just that then, as I spend the whole weekend not having anything to do." Draco smirked, raising his eyebrows proudly.
"I can't wait to watch him flounder next year." I whispered to Adrian, walking away from him.
"He's a prick- it'll definitely be amusing." He chortled back.
As we were passing through the doors of the Great Hall, I saw Fred and George turn the corner, their friend with the dreadlocks following closely behind. George looked just as good as he did earlier, an effortless appeal to him. I waved at him and smiled, meeting his eyes. He immediately waved back, sending a wink in my direction. I blushed a bit before speeding up my walking.
"Oi- you're going on a date with him but you won't even stop to talk to him?" Adrian questioned, catching up with me.
"We spent the whole morning talking on the Astronomy Tower- what's left to say?" I rationalized, my mind drifting to how close we were standing to each other. How for just a moment, when he looked at me and opened his eyes wider, I thought he might just kiss me.
"I don't understand you," he shook his head slightly "You're the most confusing girl I think I've ever met."
"Well perhaps you're meeting the wrong girls then- huh?" I retorted, taking a sharp left and descending the stairs towards the dungeons.
"I guess so." Adrian shrugged, following me down the stairs.
When we arrived at the entrance, I muttered 'wiggenweld' and the stones in the wall parted, revealing the common room just beyond. Adrian and I stepped through, looking around for other students. The room was quite empty- not unusual for a Saturday morning. Many people were still in bed.
"I have to go grab my textbook and parchment. I'll meet you back out here in a minute." I headed off towards the girl's hallway, my thoughts wandering back to George as I did.
I've had a small crush on him since my second year, though I never felt right acting on it. Aside from the fact that he was a year above me, he's also a Gryffindor and a Weasley. I highly doubt my parents would think he was fit to be friends with me, let alone take me on a date. Still, there was something about him that I couldn't help but be drawn to. He was well known throughout the school as one half of the dynamic prankster duo that set the school alight with fireworks, but he was so much more. Fred always managed to light up a crowd around the Gryffindor table with his animated stories, but it was the way George sat faithfully by his side and only chimed in during certain moments that got to me. It was the fact that he was also so observant, his eyes were always scanning across the room, noticing everything around him. It was stupid to think that someone I never talked to before this morning could be so enticing to me, but he made me weak.
quickly grabbed what I needed from my room and joined Adrien on one of the couches by the fireplace. I set my book and parchment gently on the table in front of me.
"Fuck- I completely forgot a quill and ink." I groaned, sinking down into the couch.
"Here," Adrien handed me a quill "I grabbed an extra for you. We can share my ink pot."
"Ugh- you're the best!" I squealed, sitting forward and opening my book, "I seriously don't know what I'd do without you!"
"Die, probably." He joked.
Our eyes met for a moment, and I let them linger. He kept his head still, staring back at me. I felt him move closer to me, our legs against each other. The weight between us was definitely noticeable to anyone around us, but I didn't know how to stop it. Adrian was good looking, and he'd always been a great friend to me. Finally, I cleared my throat and forced myself to look down at my hands.
"Right- we should probably get started." I muttered, flipping through the first couple pages of the Transfiguration spells.
"Right." He sighed, shifting slightly away from me.
Despite being friends for 5 years now, I know that Adrian's had feelings for me for a while. He asked me out in our third year- but we were barely 16 and I didn't feel old enough to date yet. There'd been some weird moments between us since, including one particularly drunk incident on his last birthday, but he never asked me again. I'd be lying if I said that I didn't feel fondly of him, and I know he'd be the perfect person to bring home to my parents. Yet, every time I try to give him my attention, George's stupid grin lights up in the back of my mind.
There was something about George Weasley that I just couldn't shake, and he haunted my thoughts day and night. But honestly? I didn’t know if that was such a bad thing anymore.
~~~
George's POV
"That was kind of weird, huh?" I observed, sliding next to Ginny on the bench.
Lee sat down across from me. "I'm surprised she didn't talk to you. Nerves maybe?" He offered.
"It's got Pucey's stench all over it, never liked that git." Fred muttered, piling his plate full.
Hermione made eye contact with me from across the table before getting up from Harry and Ron and sitting next to Lee. "What's this I've heard of you finally asking out Stevie?"
I choked on my tea, the hot liquid spilled down my robes as I tried to catch my breath. "Bloody hell Hermione. That just happened like 45 minutes ago- how did you find out?"
"Well, Cho overheard Stevie talking about it this morning at the Slytherin table, so she told Padma. Then Padma asked Luna if she knew anything, and Luna then told Ginny. As soon as Ginny heard, she told me!"
I sighed and rested my head against my hand "News travels fast here, huh?’
"How did you do it? I know you've been pining over her for years!" Hermione's dark brown eyes were wide with excitement.
Despite being Ron's best friend (though the way I saw it, it was only a matter of time before they were something more) I always had a soft spot for Hermione. She was awkward and shy, but she had a big heart once you got to know her. When she wasn't berating me about his grades, she was a pretty great person to talk to. Plus, it only took her until the end of her first year to realize that we switched- something that many of our friends couldn't figure out at all.
"Actually- I did all the heavy lifting." Fred smirked, leaning closer to her. "George and I switched when he was alone with her, so I took a chance. Worked out great though- eh?"
Understanding flooded Hermione's features, before she furrowed her brows. "Have you got a plan for not switching during the date?"
"A poor one, but we're taking a risk. I'm not too worried about it." Fred nodded, puffing out his chest.
"Because it's not your date! I, on the other hand, am scared out of my mind." I ran my hands through my hair, pushing the food in front of me away.
Hermione grabbed my hand from across the table and smiled sympathetically. "You're going to be alright. I know she's a Slytherin and friends with Malfoy, but she seems decent. Even if you tell her, I'm sure she'll be okay."
I nodded thankfully as she got up and rejoined the boys.
"I don't think you should do it." Ginny piped up, anger etched on her face. "She's everything we were raised to not believe in- you're just going to turn your back on that because she's hot?"
"I'm not turning my back on anything. Since when did we judge people based on their houses?" I reasoned.
Ginny gathered her belongings before standing up. "We don't. We also don't hang out with people whose parents are known Death Eaters, either. I guess it's okay to forget that when it's convenient to you, huh?" She stormed out, leaving silence in her wake.
"I don't know what is up with her." I shook my head. "Since when does she care who I date?"
"I don't entirely disagree with her," Fred picked up another helping of toast. "But it's not like you're going to marry the girl. It's one date. Besides- I don't think she'd be going out with you if she agreed with her parents decisions."
I glanced across the Great Hall to the Slytherin table and immediately made eye contact with Malfoy. He had a sour look on his face- which wasn't unusual; he always kind of look like he just smelled piss. He narrowed his eyes at me before promptly turning away and rejoining his conversation.
"I don't know anything about her parents, but there's just something about her I can't get away from. Merlin- I've talked to her once and yet she's lived in the back of my head for the past 4 years. I want to see where this can go. We have some sort of connection that I need to see where it leads." I elaborated.
"Mate- you hit your head? You're starting to sound like Trelawney with her weird visions and premonitions." Lee joked.
"I'm fine, just thinking out loud I guess." I picked my tea back up and held the mug between my hands.
There was something about Stevie Blythe that I just couldn't shake, and she haunted my thoughts day and night. But honestly? I don't know if that's such a bad thing anymore.

It’s a bad idea me and you
Y/N rolled her eyes as the Weasley twins made something or other explode at the Gryffindor table at breakfast. The awed cheers and whispers of her schoolmates at the colorful display of miniature fireworks did nothing to sway her opinion on the irritating duo. In fact, it might have even made her dislike for them grow.
It wasn’t as if she had no basis for hating the pair of them. They had been nothing but rude to her since their first year, and she was sure it was mostly due to her adorning the green and silver crest on her school robes. She had been at the receiving end of their nasty pranks more than she liked to admit, and some of them weren’t even a sliver funny.
As if he practiced legilimency, the older twin’s eyes moved from his showy display of spellwork to hers and sent a subtle wink in Y/N’s way.
“Like what you see, Y/L/N?” Fred yelled across the hall, causing the onlookers to turn their heads in her direction.
Angrily, she felt heat flood her cheeks, “Not at all Weasley. Just wondering how many points I could take away from Gryffindor today.”
She heard the members of her table snickering quietly at the sound of points lost for their least favorite house, but she paid them no mind. In all honesty, she knew that no amount of points taken away would sway the Weasley twins from their mischief making.
Later in the day while Y/N made her way from her last class to the library to catch up on some coursework, she heard the familiar snickers of the two boys she wanted to interact with the least.
“Oi! Watch where you’re going!” She yelled, annoyance bubbling in the pit of her stomach as the redheaded menaces rushed past her and nearly knocked her over.
“Going to take some more points from Gryffindor, Y/L/N?” Fred taunted over his shoulder as his brother let out a huff of laughter.
“Well, it’s not like she has any other important things taking up her time, don’t you think Freddie?” George said.
“You are absolutely right, George.” He replied.
“Honestly, don’t you two have anything better to do than get on my nerves all the time?” She gritted out.
The twins slowed their pace and Fred turned around casually to wink at her, “No can do, love.”
“Don’t call me love!”
Their raucous laughter echoed across the hall as she pushed past them in a huff. Stupid redheaded twins. Stupid Fred with his stupid teasing. Stupid George for laughing and egging him on.
Something about the way she determinedly called out over her shoulder made Fred pause.
Her eyes caught the fading light that streamed through the windows of the hallway, and shone brightly. Her skin seemed to glow in the amber light, reflecting the sun as it set in the horizon. The way she moved so confidently as she weaved through the sea of students made heads turn, and Fred was beginning to understand why their gaze gravitated towards her.
He had never noticed how pretty Y/N had gotten over the years. Another pause. Did he find her pretty?
Yeah, pretty annoying. He tried to reason with himself, but still he couldn’t shake this new feeling.
For the rest of the week, Fred had decided that if he couldn’t get her out of his mind, he would simply have to make sure he was on hers as well. Whenever the two of them walked past each other in the halls, he always had some sort of cheeky remark up his sleeve.
Subtly, he would get close enough for their shoulders to brush and would mutter under his breath, just enough for her to hear.
“Looking good today, Y/L/N, such a shame you’re a snake.”
“What’s a lad got to do to take a pretty prefect like you out on a date?”
“Cat’s got your tongue, Y/L/N? I know its ‘cause you think I look right fit, you don’t have to say anything.”
The more she ignored his comments, the more it seemed to spur him on. She would catch him sending her flirtatious winks during meals, feel his gaze on hers in their shared classes, or hear him whisper something or other to his twin while he glanced in her direction.
If it wasn’t something he said, he would manage to send practically every kind of prank her way. Tripping jinxes, jelly-legs jinxes, dung bombs in classrooms she was about to enter, puking pastilles or nosebleed nougats slipped into her drinks.
It was getting to a point that Y/N grew frustrated and angry all day. Her friends tended to avoid her when she got this way because she would just repeat the same things over and over again to anyone who would bother to listen.
Fred Weasley was a massive arse. Fred Weasley could jump in the lake and be used as food for the Giant Squid for all she cared. Fred Weasley this and Fred Weasley that.
They had even once asked her why it was specifically him that she complained about and not just the Weasley twins in general.
“Well, both of them do irritate me to no end,” She explained, “But there’s just something about Fred that irks the hell out of me. Merlin, does he know how to push my buttons!”
Y/N didn’t know what it was about Fred that got her going. It might have been because he was the instigator of most of the twins’ pranks, that he acted first and thought of the consequences later. It might have been that he would purposely send bludgers her way whenever Slytherin played Gryffindor and the many bruises that came from it.
It might have been the little flutters she would get whenever he whispered something cheeky into her ear. But that last one she had a hard time admitting to even herself.
By the end of the week, Y/N was at her wits end. Every time the bell rang and she gathered up her things, her hand would clutch her wand, ready to put up a small shield charm or send a hex in the direction of a certain redhead.
It being the weekend, many of her fellow classmates rushed out the door the moment they were dismissed from class. Y/N took her time packing her things back up, as her only plans for the night were to catch up on one of the novels she had had no time to read recently. As she exited the classroom, her eyes scanned the bare hallway for any sign of Fred. Her suspicions rose when she began her walk back to her common room and nothing out of the ordinary happened.
She soon stood corrected as a flash of red hair danced in her vision and she was suddenly pressed up against a wall.
With a gasp she said, “Weasley? What in Merlin’s name are you–”
“Can’t be quiet for a second, can you, Y/N?” Fred teased, his lips skimming the shell of her ear and sending shivers down her spine.
She gulped at the proximity of their bodies, her eyes darting around the empty hallway for any onlookers.
“Get on with whatever this is then,” She breathed, trying to keep her nonchalant act up, “I have other plans for tonight that I’d rather be doing.”
A slow chuckle escaped Fred’s lips, causing her heart to beat even more erratically than she thought possible, “So impatient love.”
“And I told you not to call me ‘love’.”
His eyes darted quickly to her lips and she could only hope that he couldn’t feel just how fast her heart was beating, “I’m going to kiss you now.”
He waited for her to give him any sign of discomfort or to say no, but she merely glanced at his lips and back up at his warm brown eyes. Then, as quickly as he had appeared in front of her, his head dipped and he captured her lips in his.
Y/N felt all the breath in her body leave as Fred pressed the searing kiss on her lips. He was intoxicating, his smell, the feel of his skin as she gripped onto his strong biceps, the way his breath mingled with hers.
When they broke apart, his eyes trailed the length of her body in a way that made goosebumps rise from her flesh. Y/N thought she must have looked like a fish out of water, mouth slightly agape and eyes wide.
“Just a taste of what could be.” He winked at her and then turned on his heel, “Think about it, Y/L/N.”
Far longer than she would like to admit, Y/N stayed rooted on the spot, staring in the direction that Fred Weasley had disappeared in and fingers running along the lips that he had claimed.
Heart keep racing Let’s make mistakes
The adrenaline pumping through Y/N’s veins gave her a feeling of weightlessness and grounding at the same time. Being Slytherin’s best beater came with the responsibility of carrying most of the game and she played her role well. Still, she always made it a point to play fair and to compensate for the shitty sportsmanship the rest of her team subscribed to.
When she had spotted a bludger to her right, making its way to where Malfoy was slowly circling, she set off. With a strong swing of her bat, she had it hurtling in the direction of one of the Gryffindor chasers. Neither of the Weasley twins was able to make it in time and the ball scraped the unassuming chaser’s shoulder.
With the boost of confidence this gave her, she proceeded to play one of the best matches of the season. A triumphant grin etched its way onto her face at the frustration leaking from the Weasley twins, who were trying to keep up with her and her co-beater’s synchronization.
Though, she had to admit that the way Fred’s arms flexed and his grunts of exertion every time he did manage to hit the bludger were a tad bit distracting too. The cheeky winks he sent her way weren’t helping either.
“Feeling a bit tired, Weasley?” She teased when he began to hover close to her, “Can’t keep up?”
“In your dreams, Y/L/N!” He all but growled and the fire in his eyes made her heart stutter for just a second before she set off in pursuit of another bludger.
The game had ended when Malfoy caught the snitch, a feat especially when Gryffindor had Potter, and Slytherin had won.
She couldn’t help but feel a smug sense of pride as she and the rest of the team walked out of the pitch, hearing the cheers of her house at the stands. She took her time in the changing rooms, trying to still her erratically beating heart. Her teammates slowly trickled out, reminding her of the celebrations that were definitely going to happen in the common room.
When she heard footsteps approaching the tent just as she had finished stuffing everything in her bag, she had just assumed that one of her teammates had forgotten something. She stood corrected.
“Quite a game today, wouldn’t you say?”
The familiar baritone voice made Y/N pause. Without turning to face him, she said in reply, “Definitely, Weasley. It’s always nice to kick your sorry arse out on the pitch.”
“Now, now Y/N,” He drawled, his voice inching closer to where she stood rooted on the spot. Her hand gripped at the strap of her bag as she tried to think of an escape route, “That’s definitely not the context I imagined you’d be talking about when you first mentioned my arse.”
She let out a scoff at his insinuation, but couldn’t shake the feeling that he could see right through her bluff. Her heart beat rapidly in her chest as she realized that she was trapped in the quidditch changing rooms with the person who had been plaguing her thoughts.
The air surrounding the pair was thick with tension and charged with electricity. Countless days of teasing and rivalry, all the discreet glances and brushes of shoulders against each other, bottled up into a single moment, this moment. By the time Y/N had turned to face the cause of the palpitations in her chest, he was mere inches away.
His hot breath fanned her face and his deep brown eyes scanned over her. She could practically feel the heat of his body against hers, white hot and tempting. He knew exactly what he was doing to her.
“What do you want, Weasley?” She breathed, finally managing the courage to meet his eyes.
“You.” He said simply, tongue darting out to dampen his lips.
For a moment, it was as if they had both stopped breathing. Neither of them said a word or moved an inch, anticipating the other’s next move.
“Fuck it.”
Before Y/N could let out a word, his lips were on hers and his arms wrapped tightly around her waist.
All of the frustration and built up resentment between the pair of them came to play in the harshness of his kiss. It was not sweet nor soft, not what one would imagine a kiss between a prince and a princess to be. Rather, it was passionate, playful, and powerful. Two opposing forces clashing against each other, their convergence causing an eruption of flames.
Fred was not a shy person, and it was evident in the way he kissed her.
If she was the least bit surprised, he couldn’t tell, because as soon as his arms rested on the small of her back, she pressed her palms against his chest and leaned into him. For once, she let him take the lead and their mouths molded together in a passionate dance.
“We shouldn’t be doing this.” She gasped as they broke apart for air, chests rising and falling rapidly.
“You think too much.” He responded, leaning down to capture her lips in his once more.
The way his lips deftly glazed over her neck and attached themselves to the point right below her ear made small sounds of pleasure escape her lips and her hips rutted against his.
These sounds only spurred him further as his arms slid down from her waist to the backs of her thighs, urging her to wrap them around him. She complied, and soon her back was against the wall as he continued the assault on her neck.
When the pair finally broke away, they took a moment to breathe, panting heavily. Y/N was the first to break the silence, laughing slightly at the compromising position they were in, and how they had just spent the last several minutes taking their frustrations out on each other.
“What’s so funny then,” Fred smiled as he slowly eased his grip on her thighs, lowering her back to the floor.
“Nothing,” She shook her head, surprised at how casual they treated the situation, “Just not what I’d expected to happen when Slytherin won today.”
“And what did you expect?” He quirked an eyebrow, “Especially when you were out there playing so well and looking that good.”
Y/N had to bite her lip to keep herself from grinning like an idiot, “Definitely not snogging you in the changing rooms, that’s for sure.”
“I know for a fact that you quite enjoyed what we did,” He whispered, pulling her close to him once more and closing the gap between them.
“In your dreams, Weasley.” She breathed.
And then his lips were on hers again. And again and again and again.
-
Over the course of the next few weeks, many noticed how the dynamics between the two shifted ever so slightly. There were still jeers and taunts in the halls, teasing comments made in classes or during meals, but there were also fewer eye rolls and less malice behind their words. It was almost as if they had an unspoken agreement.
The only one who had really caught on to what was really happening between the two of them was George, and it was only because he walked in on them on Fred’s bed in the dorms.
Y/N had been on top of Fred, straddling his midsection and pressing soft kisses all along his face and jaw, while he had his arms wrapped around her waist and held her tightly. Chest to chest, a soft hum verbrated from him as she continued her ministrations.
There wasn’t any sort of sexual tension at that moment, in fact, there hadn’t been an ounce of it the whole day. Laying like this with Fred made Y/N all sorts of confused, but she still enjoyed whatever the hell was happening between them.
It was cut short, though, as George had walked through the threshold of the dorm and saw their slightly compromised position.
“Bloody hell!” He exclaimed, and Y/N sprung up immediately, his twin’s arms falling limply at his sides at her sudden movement.
“Erm-” She mumbled, trying to move away, but Fred had none of it. If at all, his grip on her thighs tightened.
She could feel his body shaking from the laugh he was trying to hold in, and smacked him on the chest, “Fred! Stop that!”
“What?” He laughed, “It’s not like he saw anything, did you, Georgie?”
George, who was still trying to process what he had just witnessed, blinked a couple of times before shaking his head in disbelief, “Good Godric, so this is why you two have been acting so odd lately?”
“Well, it’s not as if we’re bloody dating,” Fred rolled his eyes, but Y/N felt her heart skip a beat, “We’re just having some fun s’all.”
She swallowed the lump that was suddenly in her throat and gave a feeble nod, “Yep. Just some fun.”
It was a pretty good bad idea Wasn’t it though?
Y/N didn’t know why she began avoiding Fred.
To everyone else in the school, all was well. The teasing between them hadn’t stopped. The little jabs at meals, in classes, or out in the hallways still happened. She was still a prefect and took points from Gryffindor whenever she caught the twins outside of curfew or running from Filch. They were both still beaters who played for their respective teams and shot remarks mockingly at one another out on the pitch.
Outside of those moments, though, Y/N made it a point to walk the other direction when she saw him walking her way, with or without his twin. She would slip out of shared classes as soon as the bell rang and their professor dismissed them. She even went as far as hiding in a spare broom closet once, when she was doing her prefect rounds and heard his telltale laughter just around the corner.
They hadn’t shared a moment alone in a few weeks and Fred had wracked his brain trying to figure out what he did wrong. Their set-up had been practically perfect before she started avoiding him. Stolen kisses and the excitement of sneaking around with her were some of the best times of his life there in Hogwarts. He hadn’t had the Gryffindor courage to tell her how he really felt, but at least they shared intimate moments alone, away from prying eyes and judgemental stares.
Instead, now he had taken to staring at her whenever he could, replaying all of their previous interactions to find out what went wrong between them.
“Oi, quit staring at Y/N before McGonagall takes points from us for not paying attention to her,” George hastily whispered one day.
“I’m not doing anything wrong,” Fred defended, his eyes still locked on Y/N. She paid him no mind, unconsciously twirling the quill in her hands and chewing on her bottom lip.
He thought she looked stunning.
“I never thought I would say this,” George groaned softly, “But you’ve gotta listen in class right now or else we’ll lose even more points and everyone’ll be right chuffed. We can figure out your dumb bird problems after.”
With a roll of his eyes, Fred finally brought his attention back to what their professor was going on about. He’d worry about whatever was going on with Y/N later.
-
“I think it’s simple, really,” George shrugged, later on in the day when it was just the two of them in their dorm. He leant back against the headboard of his four-poster, an image of calm and nonchalance.
“On with it then!” Fred exclaimed, the exact opposite of his twin at the moment. He fidgeted from his position on his own bed, his foot tapped anxiously on the hardwood floor and his hand kept running through his already disheveled hair.
George couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His own twin, all out of balance because of some bird.
But it wasn’t just any bird, he knew, it was Y/N. And if it had to be any bird in the whole school for Fred to become this mess of feelings and uncertainty, at least it was because of her. George always knew that their rivalry would either end in them realizing their feelings for each other or them hexing each other to death.
“Grow some balls and just tell her how you feel, you daft git!” He exclaimed, humor sparkled in his eyes.
“Be serious here, George,” Fred groaned and pushed his face against one of his pillows.
His twin rolled his eyes, “I am being serious! It’s obvious she fancies the balls off of you, so just ask her out on a date or something and save us all from this awkward dance the lot of you have been doing for the past few weeks.”
George’s words rang in Fred’s mind for longer than he liked to admit.
One night, as dinner was coming to a close, he’d had enough. He spotted Y/N getting up from her seat at the Slytherin table and stood abruptly from his half finished meal. As she exited the Great Hall, he followed her out and into the drafty corridor.
“Y/N!” He yelled before he could stop himself.
She paused briefly, shoulders tensing at his call to her. Instead of turning around though, she picked up her pace.
Fred cursed softly, “Y/N, I know you can hear me!”
As his legs were much longer than hers, he caught up to her quickly. Still, she paid him no mind and continued her on her way, “What’s got your wand all in a knot, Y/L/N?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Weasley.” Came her reply.
“You know exactly what I’m talking about, Y/L/N,” He rolled his eyes, “You’ve been ignoring me recently and I can’t think of anything that I’ve done wrong.”
“I don’t know about you, but I’ve been actually paying attention to my classes and doing all of my coursework, that takes up most of my time these days.” She shrugged, turning a corner and continuing her fast pace, “And I’m not at your beck and call, Weasley. I’m not yours.”
“You could be.”
Y/N’s resolve seemed to be taken away with the tide as he muttered those words aloud. In fact, she was so shocked at what he said that she quite literally had to stop walking and merely stared at the redheaded boy.
“Don’t be daft, Weasley.” She managed to choke out after a few beats.
He turned to face her and Y/N had never seen him look so serious before. Fred was usually the louder twin, the more explosive one, the one who acted first and thought of the consequences later. But now, now she could see that he had nothing but genuine intentions as his eyes scanned her and gauged her reaction.
She huffed, unwilling to let her walls down for even a second. It was too frightening, telling the person she had spent much of her formative years rivalling with how she truly felt about them. In fact, despite her act, she couldn’t get it in her to look him in the eyes.
“This, whatever this is, you know that it isn’t a good idea.” She tried to argue, but as the words left her lips they seemed to carry no weight in them.
“It’s a pretty good bad idea if you ask me.” He said with as much conviction as possible, “C’mon, Y/L/N, you gonna back down from a challenge?”
That sparked a fire in her eyes that he had missed seeing, one that said she meant business, “I’ll say yes to you on one condition,” She said.
“Anything.”
“Take me out on a date first.”

Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy Appreciation Week - Day 4: Favorite Ships by Moots
Hey guys! This is the fourth entry for @endlessly-cursed’s fantastic HPHL Appreciation Week. Today the focus is on other people’s ships! Y’all have made some wonderful couples and friend groups/duos! There are so many of them that again it is a challenge to narrow down which ones will be featured for the post. Anyway here goes:
Tedelia - Adelia Selwyn @thatravenpuffwitch and @cursebreakerfarrier
Slytherin and Gryffindor in love and getting along like peas and carrots? It’s hard to believe for the common student but if the passion is there it is going to happen. Dear Addy is far from the stereotype of her house and she is so wonderful and compassionate! Teddy and his dormmates are a group of chaotic Gryffindors but they love their gals all the same. Together he and Addy have built a beautiful family with three great kiddos. Danny is a frequent visitor to the Selwyn-Ellison household and he loves Teddy, Addy and their kids so much!! He considers the kids part of his found family just as much as their parents, they’re like nephews and nieces to him and he tries to find them great gifts for their birthdays and Christmas celebrations. Danny has always been close with Teddy and Adelia - he and Teddy are colleagues as aurors and he stops by to see Adelia frequently while working in France. The role that Tedelia has in Danny’s life is why it is number one on this list!
Roxariel - Gabriel Sapieha @slytherindisaster and Roxie Haley @beloved-bucky
This wholesome ship reaches number two spot by a close margin to Tedelia. I cannot decide which should be number two because its more like that it and Tedelia hold equal places in my book. Still this ship is one of my favorites because the gal in here is Danny’s sister figure and best friend Roxie! Gabriel is also a dear friend to him! He is protective of Danny and cares a lot for his well-being, where to he would put himself in harm’s way to keep him safe. The dynamic for Roxariel is unique - I just love how Gabriel and Roxie are still able to love each other so much even though she is a vampire. In a time where racism and supremacy still dominate the wizarding world, this couple can be an example of how minorities can still achieve successful and fulfilling lives just like regular people. Danny is also very grateful to have Gabriel and Roxie in his life and they’re very dear to him - his life would never be complete in their absence.
Galehan - Siobhan Llewelyn @kc-and-co and Galen Stagg @cursebreakerfarrier
Two sweethearts that have it all. Their story is about living life to the fullest. Bonding over a love of magizoology and outdoorsy-ness, Bon-bon and Galen live a very unique and epic lifestyle with many connections around the world. They look over many creature reserves in several countries - one of which is located in the U.S. state of Arizona. Danny vibes with the couple over their appreciation and reverence of the outdoors, reminding him of the better angels of his old home far away. He loves Bon-bon so much and they’ve been best buddies since their Hogwarts days. Galen is such a sweet and soft boy with great compassion and acceptance for minority groups which Danny really appreciates! When working in America he often stays at one of the reserves under the care of Shiv and Galen and is always happy to see them and hear about their latest adventures!
Reubeila - Leila Hellebore @whatwouldvalerydo and Reuben Willows @that-scouse-wizard
While I don’t bring up this ship much it still deserves recognition. Like Roxariel, this ship is another great example of how normally disadvantaged groups in wizarding society are still capable of having romantic feelings, falling in love, getting married and raising a family! Reuben is an awesome quidditch mate of Danny and Leila is a Slytherin lady with demon heritage. Like him they’re both are the type that may seem intimating on the outside but on the inside they’re just amazing friends who do great things for those they know and do their best to give back!

Hii! Congratulations on 1.5K that's absolutely amazing 💚 can I request a Remus Lupin x Slytherin!reader + soulmate AU? I think enemies to lovers would be the way to go for this and just a lot of fluff? I'll leave the rest to you! Thank you!!
Sun and Moon [R.L.]
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Slytherin!reader
A/N: thank you! Loved your request and I hope you like it as well! Again, I simply can’t write short things, so this might be a bit too big. Anyways, here it is!
Send a request! || Harry Potter Masterlist || Musical Hogwarts Series
“He’s crying,” you said, before turning your head to face the bed and putting the pillow over your head, “again.”
Your friend groans loudly enough for you to hear. She’s pretending to be angry, but truth be told, she’s already used to waking up in the middle of the night to you crying.
“You know, I’m kinda anxious to meet your big cry baby,” she comments, laughing out her discomfort of waking up early.
“Puff,” you let out. You’d be rolling your eyes if you could stop the tears from falling. Whoever your soulmate was, he was feeling incredible pain, because all you could feel was sadness.
It started when you were fourteen — the first time you felt the exact feeling your soulmate was feeling. Just as this night, he was sad. It seemed you got blessed with a depressed person. It bothered you, not because you disliked it, but because you wanted desperately to change it. You wanted your soulmate to be happy, of course, you did.
Sometimes, they were happy. You would start laughing in the middle of classes — Professor McGonagal was never pleased with that — or you would feel a strong feeling of peace as if someone your soulmate was very fond of was hugging them.
That time, when you felt like being hugged, made you wonder if your soulmate could perhaps already have a girlfriend. But that was just your jealousy taking the best of you, and as quickly as the feeling of peace came, it went away. Perhaps your soulmate noticed you were jealous — your sentiment must’ve been pretty strong to pass over to them.
Thankfully, your friends at Hogwarts got used to your mood swings because they were experiencing it themselves. After every friend of yours turned fourteen, they started to feel their soulmate feelings as well, and you all just became a group of teens trying to find who was the soulmate to who.
Somehow, you managed to go back to sleep, but it was not enough. You woke up feeling tired as ever. He probably didn’t sleep, you thought before leaving your dorm.
Classes started boring as ever. Not even Emily’s jokes were enough to keep you with a pleasant face. When it was time for lunch, you wished to find something delicious on the menu, because it was your last hope to get a happy face.
Emily helped you serving. Even though the food was well-prepared, nothing was your favourite. You ate with no excitement, just regretting having still more classes to get through.
“Here they come,” whispered Emily, already presuming your reaction.
Entering the Great Hall, James, Sirius, Peter and Remus laughed with each other, as if retelling something they had just done. You held yourself back, trying very hard not to roll your eyes. They were stupid jerks from Gryffindors, and if you had any of those, they were your mortal enemies.
James was messing with his hair when he sat down at their table, while Sirius looked around with a smirk, unknotting his tie. Peter gaped at James as a child would look a parent, but it was Remus that got your gaze.
He always looked outcasted, even amongst his best friends. He was the only one of the four with a book in hands, and he didn’t have a smile on.
“They came in as if they own the place,” you commented between bites.
“James or Sirius could,” said Emily.
You looked at your friend before laughing.
“The Blacks could, but definitely not Sirius,” you corrected her, smiling lightly.
“Hey! You’re smiling!” Emily was excited to see you like that after a whole morning of your frowned face.
You shrugged, laughing again. It was nice to know that Emily cared about you enough to skip her daily remarks of how stupid it is to you hate the Gryffindors.
From across the Hall, Remus started feeling a bit better, but you left before noticing his growing smile.
***
“Today, I’ll be pairing you all up in two,” announced Professor Slughorn just after the last student walked in. “Let me see...” he reached for a piece of paper where he had already written his perfect duos.
“Evans and Potter,” James friends started to chuckle while the boy blushed and you thought that was the first time you saw him doing so. Lily didn’t seem quite as enthusiastic, though.
“Snape and Black,” continued Slughorn.
“YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!” shouted an angry Sirius Black. All the happiness he was feeling in consideration of his friend James was gone. “Slughorn, come on!”
Severus was sitting next to you, and he didn’t seem excited about his new partner either. Severus liked being your partner — you were good at Potions, but not better than him, and that was all he could ask.
“Shut your mouth, blood traitor,” moaned Severus, just loud enough to you and Sirius to hear.
You didn’t like the term, but you knew better than anyone to not mess with Snape.
“Slughorn, did you hear what he called me?” shouted Sirius, but the Professor ignored and kept calling the names on his list.
Severus had no choice but to get up and sit next to Sirius.
“Lupin and y/L/N,” called Slughorn and you got your attention back at the list. So he wants every Slytherin with a Gryffindor now, only just not his perfect Lily. It made sense.
Remus looked at you and pressed his lips, as if afraid to say something. He got his books and walked towards you, since Severus place as now empty for his use.
“Hi,” he said, ducking himself.
You never thought you had seen a shy Gryffindor, but Remus Lupin was shivering at your presence. Good, you thought, and the smile scaped your lips before you could stop it.
Remus kept staring at you, confused about having being received with a smile.
After announcing all the pairs, Slughorn walked around assigning a single paper that had a potion instruction on it.
“I hope you get it correctly until the end of class,” he said and let the duos free to work.
You stared at the piece of paper and read: Amortentia.
“I’ll get the ingredients,” you said, already getting up. You didn‘t want to leave room for Remus to protest.
You gathered them all and got back to your seat. Remus was the one who started adding the ingredients. You were glad to see he was smart enough to follow the instructions. Sure it didn’t seem like his best friends were doing the same — Severus was arguing with Sirius non-stop, and Lily didn’t seem to happy with James playing with every single component.
Your job was to stir the cauldron while Remus added the ingredients. After a few exchanges of suspicious looks and a few bumps of hands, Remus reread the instructions and concluded that the potion was ready.
“Sniff it — see if it’s good,” asked Remus, looking at you.
You frowned, uncertain if you should be the one to sniff it but agreed to do it anyway. But the regret was immediate. The horrible smell coming from the cauldron made you lean away instantly, and even Remus resembled disgusted with it, which was weird because he was too far from it to have taken a good sniff of the horrible thing.
“I think it’s not ready,” you said, after useless cleaning your nose in your robe. Dreadful attitude for a lady, your mom would have said, but she would do the same if she had smelled the thing.
“Agreed,” muttered Remus who quickly offered you the recipe of the potion so you could take a look at what might have gone wrong.
It took you a while, but you finally saw the mistake.
“Oh, here, Remus,” you said, leaning closer to him so he could read it with you, “we forgot the powdered moonstone.”
Remus almost choked. You stared at his eyes, making sure he was okay.
“Breathed the thing again,” he explained, but it didn’t convince you.
You got the moonstone yourself and tossed it inside the cauldron who immediately started smelling better.
“Now you should sniff it,” you said, shivering just of remembering the horrible smell the potion had a couple of minutes ago.
Remus leaned in, inhaling the potion, uncertain. He kept quiet.
“So?”
He looked back at you. “Might be correct.”
“What do you smell?” you asked, letting your curiosity take the best of you.
“It’s gonna sound weird, but the smell reminds me of the sun,” he said, taking a deep breath from the thing. “It’s nice.”
Soon as he breathed again, a wave of comfort hit you. It definitely didn’t come from you — what was the satisfaction of doing school assignments with a Gryffindor? — but it hit you strong as if it had.
“Let me sniff it,” you requested, and Remus leaned back, resentful. He enjoyed the smell of the potion.
You took a sniff in and felt the same comfort from seconds ago. Weirdly enough, the scent was the total opposite of what Remus claimed — it felt as if you were smelling the moon. And some type of fur animal.
You stared back at Remus who blushed immediately when your eyes met.
“What?” he asked, bothered.
You gulped. “Nothing,” you lied. It was far from nothing. That dog smell, more of a big, large dog... it reminded you of the perfume that the boy sitting next to you was using.
You shrugged, trying to free yourself of such speculation.
Professor Slughorn stopped next to you and requested a sample of the potion. Remus did it for you, and he even labelled it. Slughorn waited and took it directly from Remus, sniffing it himself.
“You two got it wrong the first time, huh?”
You agree with a movement of your head.
“See the colour? It’s how I noticed. You probably inverted the order of powdered moonstone, am I correct?” asked the Professor.
“That’s what happened,” admitted Remus.
“Well, only 5 points for Gryffindor and Slytherin, then.”
“It’s more than enough, Professor,” you stated, glad that your potion got you at least some points.
Remus started gathering his things, and you did the same, noticing there was nothing left to do but leave.
“See you around, Remus,” you said, attempting to sound like you didn’t care before walking away from that place.
***
It was a good hot day at Hogwarts, and since those were unusually rare, you and Emily decided to enjoy the Saturday in a picnic close to the Lake.
You were letting the sun paint you gold, taking advantage of the fact that it was already three in the afternoon, and you didn’t feel any manifestation of your soulmate’s feelings.
Emily was reading a Muggle book about cars, an otherworld object that she was fascinated by. You didn’t care much about these things — they just weren’t part of your life; therefore, they weren’t needed.
The food, stolen from the kitchen, was delicious with the sun keeping it warm.
“Any plans for today?” Emily asked after a while.
“Such as...?” your eyes needed a few seconds to adapt from staring away from the sun.
“Don’t know... Parties at Hufflepuff?”
You tilted your head, thinking of anything. Then you snorted when you remembered where today’s party was.
“Today’s in Gryffindor,” you sighed, rolling your eyes.
Emily chuckled at your reaction. She dropped her book over the tablecloth you had laid in the grass and reached for you, suddenly tickling you.
“What are you— STOP IT!” you cried between laughs.
“Only when you say we’re going to the party!”
You struggled a little more, before giving in.
“Fine! We’re going!”
“Yes!” celebrated Emily with a weird dance, getting up from the spot.
***
It was during the feast that something weird happened. Emily started feeling sad, like incredibly bad.
“Em, what’s wrong? What’s happening?” you reached her hands, afraid to touch her crying face.
“It’s my soulmate. They’re sad. Something bad happened,” she said, getting up from the Slytherin table and walking around.
“Where’re you going?” you asked her, getting up too.
“Where’s Cindy?” she asked, wondering the Hufflepuff table with her eyes. “I think it’s Cindy. Where’s she?”
You stared at your best friend. You had no idea she was that close to finding her soulmate. You didn’t know she already had a guess; she never mentioned before.
She mentioned Cindy, of course. All the time. The sweetest little girl from Hufflepuff who had a heart somehow bigger than her heart.
Oh, you gulped, should have guessed.
A boy from Hufflepuff — probably Cindy’s twin, they looked very much alike — walked in and grabbed Emily’s hand from yours.
“Come, it’s her cat. It’s dying,” the boy stated.
Emily looked from you to the door of the Great Hall.
“Go, she needs you, I can see that,” you whispered, cleaning the last tear in Emily’s face and you watched the boy walk your best friend away, leaving you alone in the middle of the feast.
Faces stared at you, up in the middle of the tables, before you noticed the embarrassment and sat back at Slytherin’s.
***
You weren’t planning on going to the party anymore, but staying in your dorm all alone was pretty tedious. All the other girl had found their soulmates months ago, and it was only you and Emily left.
Well, just you now.
You sighed, deciding to have some fun at the expenses of the Gryffindors. Perhaps your soulmate wouldn’t be found that night, but a cute boy could be in a corner waiting to kiss you. Who knew?
The handmade golden dress you picked looked astonishing on you. Certain it was the one, you headed to the party.
***
“Wow, look at the bold Slytherin walking in,” James whispered to Sirius, but the other two marauders were able to hear with no problem.
Sirius laughed. He thought you wouldn’t have the balls.
“She doesn’t look that bad, tonight,” agreed Sirius, noticing immediately that the alcohol was already affecting him.
Peter and James laughed at Sirius comment, but Remus was too focused on you to say a thing. He had noticed, two weeks ago, in the middle of the Potions class that you scented like his Amortentia, but he was trying to ignore that.
It was kinda hard right now with you dressed like the walking sun.
A hot walking sun.
“What is it? You‘re quiet,” Sirius observed, nudging Remus.
“He’s always quiet,” said Peter, with a sympathizing smile to Remus. He knew sometimes Remus didn’t like the attention.
“Not like this,” disagreed Sirius, “is it the soulmate?”
Remus nodded. He didn’t know if it was better to lie or speak the truth. Maybe lie was best. If Sirius knew Remus was thinking his soulmate was a Slytherin...
“Those things are hard, my dude,” intruded James, serving everyone with a cup. “Yesterday I was laughing hard as I could in my bed just because Marlene told a joke.”
“Marlene? She wasn’t with us,” stated Peter, suddenly confused.
Sirius chuckled, slapping the back of James.
“She was telling a joke to Lily, Wormtail,” explained James and all of the boys laughed, except Peter who was gasping of comprehension.
“Alright. Who’s with me to prank y/N?” asked Sirius, smirking.
Remus frowned. “What are you gonna do?”
“Harmless stuff,” shrugged Sirius. “Hey, Prongs, still have some Veritaserum left?”
“Yep,” James showed the flask hidden in his pocket. He had it because he stole from the Professor Slughorn classes — James knew he held the best because it was Lily who prepared.
“Then let’s go,” Sirius said.
“Wait, what are you—”
“Moony, Moony... No time for your moral compass, okay?” James nudged Remus and the four boys headed to the drinks section, hoping to get a cup for you with a special liquid in.
***
It was weird not having Emily around, but it wasn’t hard to fit in. You weren’t the only Slytherin there, and, even though you avoided all of them on daily bases, you had no problem talking to some Gryffindors.
As long as they weren’t James and his friends, you were okay.
Peter invited you to a truth or dare game with the boys and Lily and Marlene. Although you were tempted to say no, Marlene and Lily had been your company for the night, and without them, you’d be alone, so you said yes.
You sat in the red couch, with Lily in your left and Remus in your right. The others got themselves some types of stools.
“Let’s start with you, Slytherin,” Sirius said, handing you a cup of alcohol.
“Is this my dare?” you ask.
“No — it’s a game-starter. You know, to make yourself susceptible to a challenge or to speak the truth,” you took the cup and analyzed it for a couple o seconds, but they all stared at you expectingly. You decided to drink it. The guys wouldn’t try anything with Marlene and Lily there, having your back.
You decided, however, to accept the challenge exceptionally: you drank it all at once. Sirius and James smirked, exchanging looks. Peter was congratulating you, and you smiled back at him. Remus gulped nervously next to you.
“Okay, I take the truth,” you decided it was easier than accepting a dare that would come from the most famous tricksters of Hogwarts.
Sirius leaned in.
“Is it true that you haven’t found your soulmate yet?” James asked before Sirius, who seemed extremely angry with his best friends attitude.
“Hey, dude!” Sirius said.
James reply came in a whisper that you weren’t able to hear: “We need to see if it’s working before showing the big guns.”
You swallowed about to answer. “I might have found him.”
Everybody stared at you, including Remus. That was not the answer you wanted to give! Might have found? You have no idea who can it be!
Although you felt like your answer could raise questions, nobody took too much time pondering over it. It was very natural to have suspicions already. You all were seventeen — James presumed his soulmate was Lily; Marlene suspected hers was Sirius.
They understood what you meant with “might”.
“Okay, now, why do you hate—”
“Hey! One question at a time!” you shouted, interrupting Sirius question.
Sirius sighed, but he knew you were right.
“I’ll go,” said Lily. “I take the dare.”
Sirius rolled his eyes. “It’s like you ask for it, Evans.”
“What?” she was genuinely confused.
“Kiss James,” sighed Sirius, not even excited to see his best friend get a kiss.
“But...”
“You heard me, Evans.” Sirius was rushing everyone to doing their dares or truths so he could get back to you; he had no idea how long he had left with the potion.
Lily quickly kissed James, hurrying to get over with it as well. Marlene screamed, and even Remus whistled.
Everybody did something in the order of the place they were sitting, and there was only one person left before it was you again.
“Remus, what do you pick?” asked Peter.
“Truth,” said Remus without second thoughts.
“Is it true your friends are Animagus?” you asked. You didn’t know if it was your time to ask questions, but since you hadn’t gone yet, you used the opportunity.
All of the marauders exchanged looks and held in laughs. They knew Remus would lie for them. Sirius just wondered how you came to that question.
“Yes,” replied Remus. His gaping jaw and wide eyes proved that he didn’t mean to say that. Surprisingly, he wasn’t the first to understand what was happening.
Sirius was too occupied being angry at Remus, and Peter was still shocked he spilt the beans.
It was James who understood what Remus speaking the truth to the enemy meant. It meant that, somehow, the Veritaserum did not only affect you but also your soulmate.
And just it happens that your soulmate was Remus J. Lupin.
How was James the sane one f he had just gotten a kiss from the woman he loved? No idea, but it was what happened.
Sirius sighed, noticing there was no point in arguing with Remus because he seemed oblivious to what he had just done and what it meant. So Sirius decided to ask y/N once again since it was her turn.
“Truth or dare, honey? Guess you’re going with truth, right?” Sirius didn‘t even give you enough time, and he was going to ask something to mess with you, but James interrupted.
“Okay, this is over,” he said.
“Prongs, what?” Sirius couldn’t believe his friends that night.
“It’s over, I don’t wanna play anymore,” said James, getting up.
“James, don’t be upset with Remus for saying we’re Animagus. I won’t use this information to anything. I’m not that mean, you know,” you said. James knew you were speaking the truth — after all, you couldn’t lie — but he had to stay pissed.
“Whatever, this game’s boring anyway,” James said before walking away. Sirius walked behind, angry that his best friend ruined what could’ve been the best prank ever and Peter followed.
It was only you, Lily and Remus, with Marlene who was sitting in the couch’s arm.
“That was weird,” said Lily.
“It was better this way, believe me,” said Remus, who laid eyes on you.
You bit your lip, concerned with the attention.
It was not a complaint: Remus’ attention was always welcome.
Some things were making sense as the two of you faced each other.
First, your hatred wasn’t with Remus. He didn’t throw eggs at Slytherin Quidditch team fans, he didn’t cast spells by changing the colours of all your friends’ clothes. Of course, he was consistent, but he always stayed in the background, without laughing, staring at his feet as if he wanted to disappear.
Second, you and Remus seemed to be together almost always if you look closely. Every end of parties, there you were sitting in a corner, watching your drunk friends and thinking you’d have to take care of them. Not to mention the school assignments, in which it seemed that every Professor already knew the obvious: you two work well together.
Third, something in your mind kept repeating that it was the smell of him that your Amortentia overflowed two weeks ago.
And he seemed to be concluding the same things because he was gazing at you with the same obsession that you were looking at him.
“Are you two okay?” Marlene asked suddenly, bringing you back to reality.
“Marlene!” Lily reprehended her best friend, nudging her off of the couch’s arm.
“I gotta go,” you said, getting up in a quick move and walking away as fast as you could without losing class.
Lily stared at Remus, angry.
“What did you do?”
***
James awaited Remus in their dorm. He was worried about his friend, and if that was some kind of intervention James had no idea, but it needed to be done.
The party had died downstairs — the only remains were couples.
Sirius was walking around the room, confused. James had told him what he knew, but Sirius just couldn’t believe it. Remus and a filth Slytherin? What was Remus’ future with that girl? She sure would hate him for being a werewolf.
“Gezz, were you waiting for me?” Remus asked, walking in.
Peter was still downstairs — that was what took Remus so long to go back to bed; he was worried about Wormtail.
“Moony, do you know y/N’s your soulmate?”
Somehow, Remus knew it wasn’t worth denying it. He wasn’t sure — hell, he could never be sure — but everything pointed that to be true.
“Can I ask how you guys...”
“You spoke the real truth on the game today. And that was our biggest secret,” James pointed out.
“The Veritaserum was for y/N, but you stole the show, of course,” said Sirius finally sitting down. “How could you fall for her, Remus?”
“I don’t know,” he answered, sitting down in the middle of the boys. “I am not even sure she’s the one. But that day, in Slughorn’s class... We were brewing Amortentia, you know...”
“Dear God,” groaned Sirius.
Remus ignored his friends and continued. “It smelt like the sun, okay. And I have no idea what smell the sun has— don’t ask me— but tonight... When she walked in that golden dress, I knew that, if anything, she was the sun.”
James looked at Remus like he knew what he meant. Sirius sighed, defeated. He wanted his friends to remain single with him, but now they were both hooked. Peter was worth absolutely nothing at this point because he was in love with a short girl from Ravenclaw too, even though the girl already had a soulmate — and Peter was not it.
“She’s the one, huh,” commented Sirius.
“She’s the one,” agreed Remus, glad that his friends weren‘t making a scene about she being a Slytherin.
***
“Remus, can I talk to you for a second?”
When you called Remus after Potions class one week after the Gryffindor party, you totally got Remus by surprise because for one: he was not expecting it; two: he had been ignoring you; three: he thought he was being efficient at ignoring you.
He gulped and followed you to a dark corner of the corridor. He tossed his bag over his shoulder, trying extra hard to copy Sirius relaxed face when he talked to girls but he was failing at it.
There was a reason why he was avoiding you — more than just teenager angst, that week was the full moon. And well, he didn’t want you around to see that.
But you noticed something was off about him.
First, because of the whole soulmate thing, you hadn’t slept in days. Always waking up to a crushing pain and a feeling of loneliness so powerful; you felt that if your soulmate wasn’t dying, you sure were about to.
And then, every morning, entering the Hall to notice that, although all the marauders had a face of someone who hasn’t slept, Remus was the only one with fresh scars.
It took you just one book to know you were dealing with a werewolf.
Remus was not just your soulmate, but also a werewolf. Dear Merlin, you groaned when you found out.
Then, the Amortentia made much more sense. Why the smell of an animal, why the scent of the moon (if there was no way you could know how moon smelled like).
Emily was no help to be honest, because every free time she had, she was spending it with Cindy. And who were you to blame her? If only was that easy to be around Remus...
“I know your secret,” you said.
Remus clenched his jaw. She is going to say she hates me, he thought.
“And I want to help. I know the boys became Animagus for you and I’d like to do the same,” you continued.
Remus tilted his head in confusion. That was not what he was expecting.
“Y/N, I’m sorry...”
“Don’t deny you are a werewolf,” you said, muttering the last word.
“I’m not — I’m just saying I don’t need you putting yourself in danger. I already have the boys,” he looked away from your eyes.
“Bullocks, you’re not gonna have them forever, you’re graduating soon!” you shouted, angry at him for being such a nice cute boy.
“What’s that suppose to mean?”
You rolled your eyes. “Please, Remus.”
“You won‘t be put in danger for me, no way.” He had a firm decision about that one.
“Can learn on my own, you know,” you simply said, walking away from me. It didn’t matter Remus’ opinion; you were warning him, not asking permission.
“Fine!” he finally agreed after speeding to get to you.
***
You weren’t able to help Remus Lupin right away. You weren’t known to be the most patient person, but for that task, somehow you managed the whole month with the holding the leaf of mandrake in your mouth.
“When are you two gonna talk about it?” asked Emily during the feast.
“Tomorrow night there’s a storm coming, so...”
“No, not about the Animagi thing — about the soulmate thing,” explained Emily, but you shrugged.
Both you and Remus knew at this point that you were soulmates, but neither of you wanted to do something about it. You convinced yourself that everything would be magically fixed after you became Animagus, so you were waiting for it.
When the lightning storm finally came, you and the four marauders met at the top of the Astronomy Tower. Your anxiety was taking the best of you, but it wasn’t just because what it would mean with Remus — you were also excited to see what animal would you become.
“Who’s got the potion?” James asked when Sirius walked in — he was the last one.
James proved to be quite friendly during this period that you spent more time with the marauders. Sirius was the one that didn’t dare to even face you.
“I’ve got it,” said Remus, giving you the flask. “Wanted to make sure it was well-prepared.”
“Well, here I go,” you waited for lightning to strike and when it did, you drank the thing. It tasted horrible. “Now what?”
“You close your eyes,” said Sirius, deciding to help. “And wish to turn. There’s really no secret to it.”
You sighed. It was time.
***
Remus watched with attention when you closed your eyes, and he noticed every little detail of your body changing to a four-legged figure.
Orange.
It was the first colour he noticed, and he chuckled because he could not believe that, of all the animals you could turn to be, you became one that had such sunny colour.
An orange fox.
A much cute orange fox.
Everyone was staring at you — if an animal could blush, that was it.
“A fox, of course,” sighed Sirius, pointing at you. “Suits her Slytherin-self.”
James hit Sirius in the head, “she’s a canine, you idiot.”
“So?”
“Wolves are canine too,” pointed out James, and he and Sirius turned from you to look at Remus, who flushed, ducking.
“That’s enough, y/N,” Remus said to you.
The fox made a sound, a mix of a cry and a groan, like a dog complaining.
“It’s the same process you used to turn,” said Sirius, imagining you were lamenting you didn’t know how to get back to normal.
The fox cried again.
“Do you think...”
“She’ll manage,” Remus interrupted James and James immediately understood what his friend wanted.
“Let’s go, Peter,” called James, heading to the stairs. “You too, Sirius.”
It took you a while, but you finally were able to reverse to you human-self.
“That was something,” you said, enjoying to have your voice again. You noticed the boys left you and Remus alone, but you decided it was best not to mention.
Remus stared at you.
“You were a beautiful fox,” he said.
“Thanks,” you weren’t sure if that was the proper reaction. “So..”
“I’ll go first,” Remus sighed. “It is really nice of you to become an Animagus for me,” he continued quickly, stopping you from interrupting, “don’t worry, we both know why you did this.”
You looked away from his eyes — it was almost unbearable. You weren’t sure if the shame was yours or his; perhaps a mix of both.
“I figured you are my soulmate that night at Gryffindor’s party,” Remus continued, speaking softly. You both stepped closer to the border of the Tower, stargazing. “Remember what I said about the sun that day in Potions?”
You facepalmed before chuckling.
“Merlin, I was a walking sun that night,” you said.
Remus smiled. It was the same thing he thought.
“And then, I was scared because... well, I’m a werewolf, I thought you wouldn’t accept me.”
“Remus!” you exclaimed, turning to face him and seeing a sad expression. “I could never! And will never!”
“I know it can be a burden,” he groaned.
“You are not a burden, Remus,” you said, softly touching his shoulder. “In fact, I’m glad my soulmate is you. I couldn’t have asked for a better gentleman.”
He blushed, but thankfully you couldn’t see it because of the bad lighting.
“When you came to me, wanting to be an Animagus, that’s when I knew you knew,” he continued his speech from where he had stopped. “You said those things about how my friends weren’t gonna be always around after graduation and I wondered what you meant... It took me a couple of seconds to see you suggested you could be always there for me because...”
“Because I’m your soulmate. And be prepared, I’ll stick around, even if Sirius doesn’t like it,” you said, with a small smile.
You two giggled and Remus noticed that your hand was still in his shoulder. Your touch was warm, just like the sun. Not a surprise, he thought to himself.
“You know, I should’ve realized sooner. And for that, I’m sorry,” you continued saying, turning your whole body in his direction, not just your face. “The amount of pain you have been feeling; all those nights crying... I wish I could have done something before.”
“You can do it now.”
His eyes sparkled just for a second, illuminated by the stars. You waited, silently for his request — because, all this month closer to Remus made you realize he was the type of boy who would ask.
“Can I kiss you?”
Your head was shaking positively, but even Remus didn’t take long analyzing it. He grabbed your waist softly as if he was scared that you would melt with his touch — and you felt like you did.
His lips encountered yours like an explosion of fireworks — sure as hell should have been fireworks, so long it took for this to happen. It was you who took the initiative to deepen the kiss.
You hand went from his shoulders to his hair, but he, gentleman as always, kept his hands in your waist. Sometimes, when you bit his lip, he would pull you even closer, and his hands would wander just a little bit further. Learning that response of his instincts, you provoked him a dozen times before he finally understood you wanted the kiss to really deepen.
He leaned in a wall, finally grabbing your ass with one hand and pulling your hair with another. Good Lord, he definitely knew what he was doing. His hands never stopped in just one spot — he wandered your whole body.
You were sure there would be found marks all over your neck and shoulders in the morning, but you sure weren’t caring. In fact, you made sure some marks would be found in him as well.
“We really should go,” he whispered, his phrase taking its moment to finish, so much out of breath was he.
You smirked in the dark.
“When I said you were too much of a gentleman, I really hoped not in this case,” you said.
He kissed you just one last time that night.
“I’m a romantic, darling,” Remus said, smirking.
You rolled your eyes, pulling your clothes back in place while he did the same.
Before stepping in the stairs, he grabbed you one last time to whisper something in your ear — his voice sending chills all over your body.
“I will finish this, I promise, but I rather do it with the sunlight kissing every single part of your beautiful body so I can remember it forever, y/N,” he whispered and then he stepped away as if he hadn’t just said the sexiest thing a man had ever said to you.
“Remus John Lupin!” you cried out, rushing down the steps to get to him.
There was no way to be sure, but something told you that all the joy you were feeling wasn’t just yours — it was Remus’ too. And knowing that he was finally happy, happy as ever before, was all you ever needed.
You were fine being his sun, as long as he was your moon.
You two would manage. You would find a way to keep that man smiling and laughing, even if it meant full moon nights and dinners with Sirius.
Because you loved him. And that was enough.

So, for some reason seeing people sort fictional characters into the Hogwarts houses with the stereotypes in mind upsets me. Not the upsetting kind of upset but the one where I just kinda rant about it and then forget it was even a thing I had in my mind.
For exactly that reason I am motivated to sort some of the fire emblem three houses characters into the houses, so that's what I'm gonna do.
But first, I'll say what I meant with 'stereotypes' and how I interpret the houses.
Generally speaking, I see the traits of the houses as what the people in them aspire to be, not necessarily what they are, which would explain why entire families are sorted into the same house over generations and why that rat-guy of the third movie was in Gryffindor.
Now, to the traits themselves-
Gryffindor - The house devoid of personality and also the one I like the least. So many people see any protagonist or personality-less character and go "Oh they're so brave, must be a Gryffindor!" I'd personally sort people with very strong moral values in this house, moreso those whose morales are to "stand up for the weak" and such.
Ravenclaw - The "Smart" house... Apparently Hufflepuffs and Slytherins can't be smart... (Yes, I agree that Gryffindors can't be smart) So, let's instead say, that people who value creativity and intelligence are Ravenclaws. Also, and this is just one thing I noticed, Ravenclaws are most often just in it for the funzies, probably because all the other houses have some variation of "likes to do more than is probably good for them" in their official traits. They also seem to do stuff for their own interest more than anything, and by that I don't mean it the selfish way but the 'hobby'/'interest'-interest-way.
Hufflepuff - If I see anyone ever say anything bad about Hufflepuffs I will fight them. They are pretty much exactly what their traits imply them to be, except that people just see them as the "nice" house and don't think about anything beyond that. They are hard working and loyal. Loyal to whom is the most important question tho. Could be a group of friends, just a single person or a cult- the possibilities are endless.
Slytherin - Slytherins and Hufflepuffs, name a more iconic duo. Slytherin is the best house, simply because they do what they do for the most simple reason: To do it. Gryffindors are in it for the attention, Hufflepuffs are in it because they want to help, Slytherins see anything resembling something competitive and they just need to win. And they do that just for the win, not for whatever reward they might get out of it. The reason why they work so well with Hufflepuffs is because they often have small friend groups who they are loyal to and Hufflepuffs return that same loyalty.
Now that that is out of the way, let's start with the main cast excluding Byleth since they don't have emotions or a personality.
Edelgard - Obvious Slytherin and I think if I need to explain this to anyone, that person either doesn't get her character or didn't read the traits of the Hogwarts houses.
Dimitri - Hufflepuff simply because the other houses don't fit him. The "healthy" him is pretty hardworking and puts other people before himself, and that's really all I can say.
Claude - Slytherin, again. Sorting him into Hufflepuff for any other reason than aesthetics is something I hope noone does, considering he kinda just leaves Fódlan in most Routes. Anyway, he's pretty ambitious, scheming and has a plan for the future for the whole game.
Hubert and Dedue (both because I have the same reasonings for them) - Hufflepuff, since both are extremely dedicated to Edie and the boar respectively. Also, the first thing Hubert always does is see if someone is loyal to Edie's cause, making loyalty the trait he values most.
Ingrid - Did I mention that chivalry is one of the official Gryffindor traits? It's also like poetry, as I neither like Ingrid nor Gryffindor.
Caspar - The only Gryffindor I wouldn't despise to be around. He has very strong values and one of the mentioned "stand up for the weak" kinda guys.
Petra - Such a ravenclaw, honestly. She does so much out of curiosity and interest that it gets pretty obvious.
Sylvain - Also Ravenclaw, although it's more of a 'He doesn't fit into anything else' than anything. Plus, in a lot of his few (smile through the pain) supports, he just goes to creative or intelligent people and tells them how great they are, so there's that.
Bernie - A very obvious thing to note is that she does stuff out of interest... And she reminds me of my Ravenclaw sister, so Ravenclaw it is.
Linhardt - Think about it... If you got anything else than Ravenclaw you should think again.
Lysithea - Everything about her practically screams Slytherin, probably because of her slightly unfortunate situation and by now I'm getting tired of explaining.
Last and the least least, Dorothea - She's a Slytherin y'all. And I'm saying that mostly because she reminds my of my Slytherin sister (as in they could be the same person personality-wise) so no further explanation... She just kinda is.
And that's all, the people whose house I did not need to think twice about.
Bye~

Just Fools in Love
Chapter two: A Game is Afoot
The night sky hung over you as you got off the train. The giant castle made you very much aware of your surroundings as you walked. Your group decided to stay together as you all got into a carriage, you sitting next to Angelina. "Dad always says this place was like home to him." You muttered. "Well hopefully we'll feel the same." Angelina encouraged. You leaned back and sighed, clearly thinking about something. "I'm sure he's nice Y/n." Angelina assured. "It'd be a disaster if he weren't." You said. Fred rose a brow but said nothing. "You guys excited!?" Angelina asked the group as a whole. There was half given "yays" in response. "we are going to have fun. Come on you guys!" Angelina groaned. "Wooh!" George said making you laugh. "Yeah. We've got this!" You agreed, highfiving Angelina. Fred smiled and nodded.
You all ended up at the docks, you and Fred in a boat. "Nervous?" He asked. "a little." You admitted. You looked at the night sky though and smiled. "It sure is pretty tonight though." You muttered. The stars in your eyes made Fred suck in a breath. "Do.. do you like the stars?" He asked. "You can't really see them where I live. But yeah." You told him. "you can practically see everything from my house... I like the stars too though" Fred said. You smiled and then looked down. "Are we... Friends?" You asked him curiously. "I wouldn't have sat with you if we weren't already." Fred assured. You smiled and he did too before the boat finally docked.
Fred got out, extending a hand to you you took it and climbed out before straightening the oversized jacket on you. You all stood behind the giant doors of the Great Hall. Angelina stood next to you. "Ready?" She asked. You looked at Fred and George and nodded. "I think so." You nodded. The doors opened and you were met with the glow of levitating candles. Angelina stood next to you, staring at the scenery with wide eyes. Fred and George were bewildered as well, looking around them. "Wicked." The boy said in unison, earning a laugh from you. An older woman approached the front of the hall with a chair and a hat. "Ready?" Angelina asked again, Fred noticing how many times she seemed to ask you. Perhaps it was to calm her nerves? Or... Maybe yours? "Best get this over with." You muttered. An older boy from earlier ran over as the group of first years approached the front. "came back for my jacket" James said. You took it off. "James..." You swallowed. "You're nothing like her Y/n. You'll be okay." He assured. You nodded as your brother sat back down.
"Y/n Black." The woman called. You sat and the hat was placed on your head. It grumbled in thought. "Curious. Very curious." The hat began. "Very powerful." It muttered. "but you share your father's legacy. Gryffindor!" It announced. a wave of relief washed over you, you sitting next to James at the Gryffindor table. "knew you wouldn't be a Slytherin." He whispered to you. "Libby Darling" the woman called. "When should I speak to Dumbledore?" You asked. "After the opening feast." Regulus answered, moving next to you. "You're going to want to get comfortable." Regulus added. "Angelina Johnson." "Think she'll be Gryffindor?" James asked you. "she's the embodiment of Gryffindor." Regulus snorted. "Gryffindor!" "See." Regulus laughed. Angelina sat down with you. "Looks like there's nothing to worry about here." She said, nudging your side. United inside looking at Albus Dumbledore.
you felt unsettled, knowing why you needed to see him later. A fork rattled on the table and regulus frowned, nodding to you while looking at James. James tapped your shoulder and the fork stopped. "I'm sure you'll do great Y/n. Don't worry." James assured. "Fred Weasley." You exchanged a look with Angelina. "Know him or something?" Regulus asked. "We became friends on the train." Angelina said. "Gryffindor!" "Oh yeah, we know his brother." Regulus nodded. You moved and Fred sat next to you. "Surprised you weren't in Ravenclaw?" Fred asked you. "little bit. But I'm not disappointed." You shrugged. "George Weasley" "Think George will end up here too?" Angelina asked. "Probably." Fred nodded. "Gryffindor!" "And the group stays together!" Angelina said earning a laugh from George as he sat down. "What is a group of four even called?" Fred asked. "What do you mean?" Angelina asked. "Two is a duo, three is a trio, what's four?" Fred asked. "Crowded?" Regulus joked making Angelina roll her eyes and you elbow his side in response. "Quartet." You answered. "We're a quartet." George said earning a wince from everyone. "Makes us sound..." "Like a terrible singing group." Fred said. You snorted and Angelina wheezed. "Do we need a name or something?" You finally asked. "Maybe." George nodded. "My dad had a name for his group." You said. "Oh?" George seemed interested in this information. "The Marauders." You told him. "Can we steal that?" Fred asked. You chuckled. "We're not stealing it. We're simply the next generation." You chuckled. "They're going to flip." Angelina laughed.
"My dad's the nutjob that gave me the map." You shrugged. "Map?" George asked. "I'll show you later." You said. "Let the opening feast commence." Dumbledore announced. Food appeared and you covered your glass. "Smart." Fred laughed. "I take heed in your warnings" you assured him. He chuckled and you smiled. "So how many siblings do you have?" Angelina asked. "There's Percy, Bill, Ron, Charlie and Ginny." George listed. "Big family." You noted. "What about either of you?" Fred asked. "Me, Regulus and James are it." You shrugged. "Only child." Angelina said. "You mean lucky." You said. "We're right here Y/n." Regulus said. "I know." You said not looking up with a smirk. Fred smiled and James shook his head. "You're the favorite Y/n. You know that." James said. "Dad does love his little girl." Regulus teased. You rolled your eyes and smacked Regulus's arm. "So. Ever debate killing your brothers?" You asked. George laughed and Fred nodded with a snort. "Ron irks us all the time. He's coming here next year." Fred answered. "What about your sister?" You asked. "She won't enter until our third year." George said. "And Charlie?" Angelina asked. "Graduated." Fred answered. "Last year." George added.
"Seventh years are excused." The older woman announced. You felt James' hand on your shoulder and he nodded to Dumbledore. You got up and left. "What's that about?" George asked Angelina. "Even I don't know the whole story, can't say." Angelina shrugged. Dumbledore nodded at whatever you were telling him and the two of you disappeared through a door. "Any reason why she had to talk to the headmaster up front?" Fred asked. "Little tip: the Black family hold a lot of secrets." Regulus said. The twins looked to Angelina who was nodding with Regulus in agreement. "You guys do bare your demons, that's for sure." She sighed. Regulus left after the sixth years were called. "You really can't tell us anything?" George asked. "we just met you guys tonight. She's not going to say anything about this for a while probably." Angelina sighed. Fred stared at the spot where he last saw you standing, deep in thought. What the heck were you hiding?
You stood in Dumbledore's office, noticing the Phoenix on it's perch. "what's its name?" You asked curiously. "Fawkes." Dumbledore answered. You let out a sigh and looked at Dumbledore. "Can you promise me that this will keep everyone safe around me?" You asked. "With the proper training, yes." Dumbledore nodded. The pen from earlier levitated between your fingers. "Alright." You muttered, watching it turn slowly in the air.
"Let us begin."

Mischief Managed: Riddikulus
Across the United Kingdom, millions of children attend school every day, studying Maths, English and Science, but deep in the Scottish Highlands, a lucky thousand schoolkids get to study Potions, Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts. Whilst the rest of us learn names like Shakespeare, Avogadro and Fibonacci, they learn names like Goshawk, Bagshot and Scamander. Whilst we learn how to do algebra, how to analyse poems and how photosynthesis works, they learn how correctly use a Conjuring Spell, how to brew a Draught of Living Death and how to fly a Nimbus 2000. And naturally, school children will always find a way to misbehave, to get up to no good, to make mischief, but when you add spells, potions and magic into the mix? Let’s just say... they get up to more than just mischief. Welcome to Hogwarts.

Riddikulus (Boggart Banishing Spell)
Type: Charm
Pronunciation: rih-dih-KUL-lus
Description: A spell used when fighting a Boggart, "Riddikulus" forces the Boggart to take the appearance of an object the caster is focusing on. Best results can be achieved if the caster is focusing on something humorous, with the desire that laughter will weaken the Boggart
Etymology: Latin word ridiculus, "laughable" (but perhaps "absurd" or "silly" in this context)
Notes: The effect of the spell seems to rely primarily on the state of mind of the caster. It doesn't actually change the shape of a boggart into something humorous, but rather whatever the caster is concentrating on at the moment of the casting, as when Neville was thinking of his grandmother's dress. Presumably, Mrs Weasley couldn't take her mind off of her fears for her family, so the Boggart was changed into other members of the family rather than something humorous
‘Good morning, students,’ Professor Lupin’s clear and calm voice echoes through the classroom, cutting all conversation short as we look up at the newest teacher to take on the ill-fated role of Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. ‘Good morning, Professor,’ we chorus back, watching as he walks down the steps, his dark brown robes billowing out behind him.
The second his foot touches the floor, the wardrobe in the centre of the room shakes, all of us jumping at the sudden noise. We watch as it continues shaking sporadically, its short wooden legs colliding with the worn floor, the noise echoing around the room.
‘Intriguing, isn’t it?’ Professor Lupin asks into the silence, all of us still and watching, waiting for the wardrobe to move again. ‘Would anybody like to venture a guess… as to what is inside?’ Lupin drawls, his words met with a few moments of silence before Kim Namjoon raises a hand. ‘Is it a boggart, Sir?’ he asks, a smile breaking across Lupin’s tired face. ‘Very good, Mr Kim. Can anybody tell me what a boggart looks like?’ ‘No one knows. Boggarts are shapeshifters. They take the shape of whatever a person fears most. That’s what makes them so…’ Jeon Jungkook trails off, face serious as he looks to Professor Lupin who nods and finishes the sentence for him; ‘so terrifying, yes, Mr Jeon.’
I feel a pair of hands land heavily on my shoulders, making me jump in shock, and I turn to give Park Jimin a dirty look for taking advantage of the tension in the air, the boy giving me a mischievous grin in return. ‘Luckily, a very simple charm exists to repel a boggart. Let’s practice it now – without wands, please,’ Lupin says, everyone freezing with their hands halfway into their robes, hands falling back to our sides. ‘After me. Riddikulus!’ he says with his chin jutted out, enunciation clear and loud. Everybody repeats after him, a loud chorus of ‘Riddikulus’ ringing out into the air, but I feel a little stupid to do so, and so do the other Slytherins around me, it seems – there is silence from our corner of the group.
‘Very good. A little louder and clearer this time, please, and can we have our dear Slytherins joining in too?’ Lupin says with an amused glance over at us, the rest of the class turning to look too, and promptly looking away when Min Yoongi pushes himself away from the wall, daring them to say something. ‘Listen. Riddikulus!’ Lupin says, and I push down my pride to join the others in repeating after him, ‘Riddikulus!’ ‘This class is ridiculous,’ I hear Jimin muttering behind me, our friendship group stifling our laughs with the sleeves of our robes.
‘Very good. So much for the easy part. You see, the incantation alone is not enough. What really finishes a boggart is laughter. You need to force it to assume a shape you find truly amusing,’ Lupin explains, and despite myself, I’m intrigued to see one of these boggarts in action. ‘Let me show you an example. Hoseok, would you join me, please?’ he says, turning his kind smile to one of my (only) friends in Hufflepuff house. The Hufflepuffs generally aren’t that bad, definitely more bearable than the know-it-all Ravenclaws, though even they’re easy to deal with than the Gryffindors, with their stupid bravery and lack of self-preservation.
Jung Hoseok looks like he might wet himself, his usual sunny persona disappearing and replaced by a pale face and scared wide eyes. ‘Come on, don’t be shy,’ Lupin prompts, and Hoseok’s friends push him forward, the boy stumbling towards the wardrobe. ‘Now, don’t tell us aloud, but just have a think about some of the things that frighten you the most, so you can prepare yourself for the boggart,’ Lupin says kindly, Hoseok nodding nervously as another Hufflepuff, Kim Taehyung, whispers, ‘we’ll be stood here all day; he’s scared of everything.’ Giggles ripple around the room as Lupin leaves Hoseok to think over his fears and comes to stand in front of us.
‘The thing you must remember about boggarts is that they will transform into your worst fear. Some of you may not even know what that is – we’re all scared of bugs and heights and things like that, but what about the things we don’t think about or encounter regularly? There is no way of knowing what your boggart will turn into, because we all have more than one fear, so make sure you are thoroughly prepared to use the incantation as soon as you face the boggart. Understood?’ Lupin says seriously, a shiver running through me as we all nod – no one’s laughing anymore.
‘Right, Hoseok. Are you ready? Have you had a think?’ Lupin calls to the Hufflepuff boy, who nods reluctantly, gulping. ‘Here we go then, wand at the ready. One… two… three!’ Lupin says, waving his wand at the wardrobe, which creaks opens slowly. We all crane our necks to see what’s in there, but it’s dark and there’s nothing to be seen. Hoseok looks like he might faint, the hand holding his wand shaking. And then we hear it; a little hiss.
Before anyone can register it, a snake is slithering out of the darkness of the wardrobe, thick, green and black, leaving a trail of slime behind it as it glides across the floor towards Hoseok, who’s frozen in terror, watching its forked tongue poke out from its mouth, letting out loud and threatening hisses. ‘Think, Hoseok, think,’ Lupin prompts, and the boy seems to wake up, nodding as he lets out a meek, ‘Riddikulus!’ It works, though, and suddenly the snake is transforming into a balloon, the kind that entertainers make at children’s parties, Lupin swiftly grabbing onto the string it’s attached to before it can float up to the ceiling.
‘Are you trying to send us a message, Hobi?’ Yoongi calls to the Hufflepuff, the boy looking considerably less scared as he turns to us with a smile. ‘Yeah. Anyone’d think you’re just as scared of us,’ I grin, the boy laughing. ‘You guys aren’t anywhere near as scary as real snakes.’ ‘Yeah? I’ll show you scary,’ Jimin says threateningly, a small smile on his face, and Hobi rolls his eyes amusedly, grinning as Lupin watches our exchange with interest.
‘Wonderful, Hoseok, fantastic job. Now, can we form a line?’ he says, our classmates sprinting to the front of the line before he can even finish speaking, and I roll my eyes at their eagerness. ‘Come on,’ Jimin says, hooking his arms through mine and Yoongi’s, dragging us towards the middle of the line. Our classmates move out of the way for us, and I thank them with a smile, Yoongi and Jimin exchanging an amused glance; they always tease me for being nice to people, saying it’s unlike a Slytherin, but I beg to differ – I’d say it’s very Slytherin to be nice to people, knowing that being nice gets people to like you, do things for you. The typical Slytherin way is to get people to fear you, but I’d prefer them to love me – it’s better to have people willing to do things for you, though I guess a little bit of fear doesn’t hurt every now and then. I think I’ve found a good balance between the two.
‘You Slytherins. Think too much of yourselves to rush into the queue, and then push in front of everyone else,’ Kim Seokjin says from where he’s stood in front of us with Hobi and Namjoon, the three of them turning to us with big grins. ‘Shut it, Kim,’ Yoongi says with a grin, holding out a fist for the three of them to bump theirs’ against. Jin’s a Gryffindor, one of the very few of them that I can stand to be around for longer than ten seconds, and Jungkook is another, simply because I’ve never laughed more at anyone than I have at those two when they’re together. They’re like a slapstick comedy duo, and I guess they can be nice, sometimes. Considering we’re in different houses, we actually spend a fair bit of time together – maybe too much time. We share nearly all our classes, and Jungkook’s on Gryffindor’s Quidditch team so I see him at practices and at matches, and we all sit together in the Great Hall from time to time, with Hoseok, Taehyung and Namjoon too.
Namjoon’s a Ravenclaw, and it shows in lessons. Outside of lessons, though? It’s a wonder he's still alive, if I’m being completely honest. The boy is clumsier than anyone I’ve ever met. But he’s kind, and you can actually have an intellectual conversation with him – intellect is something they have in common with us Slytherins. The school’s all about ‘interhouse relationships’ and ‘Hogwarts unity’, and they’re always pushing that stupid agenda onto us, so we’ve got a few friends from other houses – not many though. We Slytherins are an exclusive people.
‘God, Taehyung must have run to get to the front,’ Jimin says, all of us turning to look where he stands in front of Professor Lupin, wand at the ready, face determined. Lupin releases the balloon, the room falling silent as we all watch with interest, wondering what Taehyung’s worst fear is going to be. The boggart turns and spins in the air, a big blur before him, and we all wait with bated breath. And then it turns into Taehyung. ‘He’s scared of himself?’ Hobi asks, all of us looking at each other in confusion. Before we notice that the boggart Taehyung is… morphing before our eyes. His back becomes hunched, his skin sagging and taking on a leathery texture, his healthy dark curls greying and thinning, strands of it actually falling to the floor, his broad and strong body becoming shrivelled and small, and when he smiles, his sparkling perfect white teeth yellow completely and some of them fall out, leaving atrocious gaps. He’s aging.
‘Oh, my God,’ Taehyung whispers, face covered with horror, and we all burst out laughing. His worst fear is aging. As though he can’t bear to look at himself like that again, he calls out the incantation, waving his wand, and the old (ugly) boggart Taehyung becomes a younger, more handsome Taehyung, not like the one we know now – more like a Taehyung in his mid-20s. He’s so handsome I feel myself swooning a little, Yoongi side-eyeing me amusedly as I rub at my nose, trying to cover how much my face has heated up. All of the girls and some of the boys are just as flustered as me, and now Taehyung looks pretty impressed with the effect that handsome boggart Taehyung is having on us all.
He makes his way over to us with a grin, and I instantly shake off my flustered state, rolling my eyes at his smug face. ‘D’you see how handsome he was? I’m betting I’ll look like that in ten years’ time,’ he says proudly, the boys all exchanging amused glances. ‘y/n’ll happy then,’ Jin says with a grin to me, and I nudge him with a scowl, Tae raising an eyebrow at me. ‘Don’t, Tae, I swear, I’ll hex you,’ I say warningly, brandishing my wand at him, and he just holds his hands up, grinning smugly. ‘You’re scared of aging?’ Namjoon asks the question we’re all wondering, and Tae sighs with a roll of his eyes. ‘I’m scared of aging badly. I want to still be handsome and… use my body properly when I’m old,’ he says with a smirk, the double entendre plain, and I can’t help but scowl at him when he turns his amused eyes to me. ‘Please never talk about wanting to still be able to have sex when you’re old. I don’t want to ever picture old you with your dick out,’ I say bitingly, everyone laughing, including Tae, as we picture the boggart we just saw attempting to have sex. I shudder, shaking away the thought.
‘Look, look, it’s Jeon’s turn,’ Namjoon says, our attention turning to the front where Jungkook’s stood in front of Lupin, who holds Jennie’s boggart in his hands – it was a load of bugs before, but she turned them into dumplings. ‘Ready, Jungkook?’ Lupin asks, the boy nodding, before Professor Lupin throws the dumplings up in the air, and they stay up there, slowly transforming into Jungkook’s boggart. It drops to the floor once it’s transformed, and I crane my neck to see what it is, only able to see flashes of metal here and there, my peers all in the way. ‘What the fuck is that?’ Jimin demands, and when I catch sight of it, I burst out laughing, Tae, Jimin and Hobi not understanding why me, Jin, Namjoon and Yoongi are practically wetting ourselves with laughter.
‘What is it?’ Tae demands, but none of us are in any state to answer him, Jin rolling on the floor as Namjoon clutches at his stomach, Yoongi’s shoulders shaking as tears run down my face, our laughter echoing around the room. By the time I’ve managed to compose myself, Jungkook’s turned his boggart into a small bonfire, which Professor Lupin is attempting to contain so that it doesn’t set fire to the entire classroom, which is all made out of wood, by the way (I know the school’s old, but it really wouldn’t kill them to do a little refurbishment).
Jungkook makes his way over to us, looking sheepish when he sees the way we’re laughing at him. ‘Don’t laugh – I’m genuinely terrified of them,’ he says embarrassedly, setting us off again, and the three purebloods in our friendship group don’t look too impressed at being left out of the joke. ‘What was it?’ Hobi asks, and Jungkook sighs. ‘A microwave,’ he says quietly, the four of us being hit with another wave of laughter. ‘Why… the fuck… are you scared… of microwaves?’ Jin demands between laughs, and Jungkook looks at his feet, face red. ‘I always have been. They could just blow up at any moment,’ he says in a small voice, and as much as I do feel for him, I cannot stop laughing.
‘Sorry, hold on, I hate to interrupt you muggles and your little inside joke, but what the fuck is a… microwave?’ Jimin demands, and we all shoot him dirty looks. ‘We’re not muggles, Jimin, don’t say that again. We’re just as much wizards as you are,’ I say coldly, and he holds his hands up apologetically. ‘I know, sorry, you know I don’t mean it,’ he says honestly, and I nod, biting back my annoyance. Jimin was raised in a pureblood household, as were Tae and Hobi, but neither of them had quite the upbringing that Jimin did. Slytherin pureblood families are… maybe the worst you can ever encounter – they’re proud, rich, privileged and thrive off their supposed ‘supremacy’. Jimin was always taught that purebloods were the only wizards that deserved to be wizards, that half-bloods were dirty half-breeds and that muggle-borns were an abomination to the wizarding race. Joining Hogwarts, he was exposed to more ‘dirty half-breeds’ and ‘abominations to the wizarding race’ than ever before, and he even became best friends with two half-bloods – myself, and Yoongi. He’s trying to eradicate the views that were instilled in him all his life, and I understand that he can’t help it sometimes, that the words come out before he can correct himself, but that doesn’t stop the way I get annoyed with him. The others control their anger better, and it surprises me sometimes, considering Jin and Namjoon are both muggle-born – I would think they’d get more annoyed than anyone, but they handle Jimin’s stupid comments well.
‘A microwave is an electronic kitchen appliance,’ Jungkook says, the three purebloods looking at him blankly, and he sighs. ‘It’s a machine that cooks food,’ he says simply, the four of us stifling our laughter. ‘So you’re not scared of… I don’t know, getting injured in a Quidditch match, or dementors, or even You-Know-Who, but you are scared of… a machine that cooks food?’ Tae asks, and Jungkook lets out an irritated noise. ‘They can blow up at any moment!’ he repeats, all seven of us bursting into laughter now, and Jungkook sulks for a few moments, his scowl quickly becoming a grin as he joins in with our laughter.
‘Right, students, I’m sorry but that is all we have time for today! Class dismissed! Lupin calls out amongst complaints and grumbles, but I’m secretly relieved; I’d rather not have everyone find out my deepest, darkest fear. We all head towards the door, Professor Lupin bidding us goodbye as we leave. ‘I wanted to find out your guys’ fears too,’ Jungkook says as we step into the corridor. ‘Why? Wondering one of us might be scared of an electrical appliance too? Maybe a fridge? Or an oven?’ Jin teases, the boy shoving him. ‘You’re all teasing me, but Tae’s scared of getting old!’ ‘That’s nowhere near as bad as being scared of microwaves. What is scary about microwaves?’ ‘They can blow up at any moment!’

Prologue: Reunited// James Potter
Aurora Black loved her cousins she would kill, hurt, or die for them you name it. Sirius and Aurora Black were the same through and through both blood traitors, a disgrace to the family name, both abused until they could no longer see the light, and both faced the most troubles that came with being a Black, both were disowned when they decided to run away from their family at the age of fifteen. The difference between the two was that Aurora can't just be selfish and leave her loved ones behind, so when she heard of Sirius leaving behind Regulus she couldn't go without taking her baby cousin. Aurora wouldn't leave Regulus for the life of her, she packed the youngest Blacks bag and dragged the boy out of 12 Grimmauld place, ending with three Blacks being disowned.
Aurora and Narcissa Black, you will never see one without the other those two girls lived and breathed for each other nothing could separate them, not even their prejudiced family, their different beliefs in blood purity, not the Slytherin and Gryffindor rivalry, nothing because in the end, they will always pick each other no matter what. So when Aurora Potter née Black died the Halloween of 1981 Narcissa felt broken, to say she was sad would be an understatement she lost herself, she lost her other half, she lost the person she could count on for anything.
The Marauders, Messrs Moony, Rory, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs a group of five who started their unbreakable friendship during their first year on the Hogwarts express in the compartment that will forever be theirs. Why is it when something happens it's always those fives? all were keen on embarrassing each other any moment they got, or cause havoc around Hogwarts earning themselves detentions every other day. But their friendship ran deep more than anyone could imagine, they were their own little family, four brothers and a sister who would go to the ends of the earth for the other, if one killed you could count on the others to help hide the body, so when the betrayal of their own led to the death of the others it was a shock to the wizarding world.
James Potter and Aurora Black might have been best friends but that didn't mean they weren't on each other nerves twenty-four-seven, actually Aurora Black never really did anything to annoy the Potter boy, except for the multiple rejections she sent to her best friend who constantly asked her out. That day in their first year when Sirius Black introduced Aurora Black to James Potter he fell for the raven-haired girl, he feel hard, the Gryffindor boy didn't glance at any girl unless it was Aurora Black. He knew, he knew that one day she'll be his and he hers, well he was already hers and James Potter made that quite clear to the Hogwarts staff and students. Aurora Black was the one for him, the only girl that he'll ever drop down on one knee for. Aurora Black was a stubborn girl she wouldn't admit to loving Potter for the life of her, she only realised her feelings towards her best friend in the fifth year because of Harry Potter, the boy who lived, her son. The emerald-eyed girl never knew the difference between platonic love and the romantic one so she was utterly confused for four years when she got jealous seeing many girls drooling over James Potter, she wouldn't admit her jealousy though the raven-haired girl was too prideful, even when she learned that it was not just platonic love and that she would marry James Potter, even have a kid with the guy.
Abuse, abuse was something Aurora Black thought was normal until she meet a family like the Potters, Mr and Mrs Potter never screamed crucio at the top of their lungs because their son broke a vase, they never screamed crucio if James looked at a muggle-born or was seen talking with one. Aurora Black wished she could say the same, but no, she couldn't say the same because if she even dared do any of those things she would earn herself a slap across the cheek from Druella and be at the other end of Cygnus wand when he screamed crucio, Aurora took every hit and spell her father and mother could throw at her, she wasn't strong at first but after a while she got used to the pain, numb, numb was what she felt when the cruciatus curse hit her for the hundredth time, maybe even more than a hundred, the girl had a tendency to take her sister's punishments as well. Most of the time the foolish girl volunteered for a punishment if it meant that Bella, Andy, and Cissy wouldn't have to.
Bellatrix Black was thirteen years old when she almost felt the pain from the cruciatus curse, Aurora Black was four years old when she felt the pain casted upon a witch who was hit with the word crucio. Even at the age of four she didn't regret the agonising pain if it meant that her sister didn't have to feel it, at four years old was when she decided that she would take any punishment her sisters were given, and that was a promise.
Her sisters couldn't say the same though, Bellatrix and Andromeda weren't brave enough to step up and take a punishment for their little sister, Narcissa had though, Narcissa jumped in front of the cruciatus curse after it had been pointed towards her sister for two minutes, Narcissa jumped in many times for her sister but was usually thrown out of the way by Aurora who hated hearing the blood wrenching screams of her other half. Narcissa soon stopped after a while when Aurora would yell at her afterwards, what Aurora didn't understand was that Narcissa couldn't handle her sisters screams of pain just how she couldn't handle the screams that came from Narcissa's mouth when she took the curses for her.
When Aurora was sorted into Gryffindor it tore the four sisters relationship apart, Bella no longer spoke a word to her sister, Andy would pull her aside to talk secretly, and Narcissa stayed by her sister's side showcasing the love she had for her sister each time she got too. The broken sisterhood still didn't stop the love that ran through the Black sister's blood whether any would admit it or not, still, they all loved each other, all still wished that everything was how it once was when they ran through the meadows chasing after butterflies. When Aurora Potter was found dead alongside her husband, all sisters grieved, Bella hated her younger sisters way of life but she still couldn't prevent herself from letting out loud cries when she sat alone in a room, Cissy became depressed and couldn't tend to her own son's needs for a long period of time, it was so bad that the twin broke down each time seeing Harry Potter, recognising the same emerald eyes her dear sister once had, Andy faked a smile, she had no tears to cry, she cried that Halloween night till the next morning and that was it, she didn't let herself cry but instead put up a fake smile for her niece who she now needed to care for.
Harry Potter the boy who lived, the boy who only had pictures and the voice of his mother telling him that his parents loved him, the boy who only had his aunt Cissy, auntie Andy, uncle Ted, and cousin Dora. Only four people who cared for him, and he was grateful that he was left with some kind of family.
Pictures, pictures were all Harry had, he had pictures of his mother and father in their years at Hogwarts, he loved re-watching the pictures play on and on, saying goodnight to each photo once the moon shined bright. Harry Potter hated Peter Pettigrew, he was the reason he no longer had parents, so he made sure that his hate for Peter Pettigrew was visible and shined bright just like Sirius who light up when Harry looked up at the night sky.
The whole great hall sat peacefully until loud laughs and shouts could be heard from down the corridor, everyone seemed to hear the loud noises and turned to the door where the loud yells got nearer, only when her old nickname was yelled had Minerva dropped her spoon and ran to the door to see if the yells did belong to the voices she heard so long ago.
" Oi, you lot get back here, detention all of you," Filch yelled looking down at his know purple cat.
" I didn't even do anything," yelled the calm voice of Alice as she was dragged down the corridors by Frank who ran behind Sirius Black who held his cousin Aurora on his back.
" We better hide, Minnie is probably stomping her way towards us," James laughed turning back at his friends who all glared at the boy.
" I am not getting detention because Potter and the Black duo decided to change the stupid fur of a stupid cat!" Lily yelled at Sirius, James, and Aurora who burst out in laughter at the redhead whose face now matched her hair.
" Lily is scary when she mad," Regulus mumbled to Remus backing away from the redhead.
" Sorry Lils, I love you!" Aurora pouted towards her best friend who glared at her.
" Wormy, watch out for that Rave-" but before Aurora could finish Petter had already bumped into a blonde Ravenclaw, Aurora and James were the first to laugh following along with Remus and Sirius who laughed at how ugly their sisters laugh sounded.
