POV: 3rd Person
Pairing: Sam/Dean Winchester x Male!Winchester!Reader [Platonic]
Warning(s): Language, PTSD, Mention of past Rape, Trauma, Sexual Assault, Hurt/Comfort, Kidnapping, Mention of Character Death, Azazel
Summary: After the death of their father, Sam and Dean's older brother went missing for a couple of weeks. Eventually, he returned, and everything seemed to go back to normal. When the brothers follow a lead that takes them to an abandoned schoolhouse, Sam and Dean come face to face with the reality of what happened to their brother when he went missing.
Request:
Hello, hope you're having a good day/night
I was wondering if I could request the Winchester's (John/Dean/Sam) x Older brother finding out the Azaseal (yellow eye demon) s/a him and he's been keeping it secret intill they run into Azaseal and he gloats about what he did. (If you don't feel comfortable using yellow eyes that just some strong random demon is fine)
Maybe reader is someone who has always took care of all of them including when John was drunk or injured, took care of both his brothers doing whatever he could
@xweirdo101x
A/N: I'm not dead! Just stressed! These past several months have been horrible, but I'm happy to say I'm back in the groove of writing! This request has been long overdue and I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to get it out, I did not forget everyone who sent in a request! I hope you enjoy the story! Do NOT read if any of the warnings are triggering to you. Keep yourself healthy, keep yourself safe. Feedback is greatly appreciated!

“Dude, are you sure you’re taking me down the right road?” Dean asked, brows furrowed as he looked in the rear-view mirror occasionally.
“I’m sure.” (Y/N) confirmed, gaze focused on Google Maps, which he had cued up for the last thirty minutes of their drive.
“We’ve been driving the backroads for ages. Never thought an old schoolhouse could be this deep in the countryside.”
“A lot of people settled here at some point, Dean,” Sam said with a brief shrug of his broad shoulders.
“Sam’s right. According to local history, the first group of settlers that arrived built make-shift houses deeper in the woodland areas for better hunting and fishing grounds. To accommodate, they built a schoolhouse in the middle of the settlements so all the kids would be able to make it to school a little easier. Once the years passed and all the people started moving away to start the nearby town, the schoolhouse was practically abandoned. There wasn’t any need for it anymore.”
“Look at you doing your research,” Dean teased with a smirk.
(Y/N) rolled his eyes. “More than you, asshole,” he mumbled. “Oh! There should be a small clearing up here to your left. Go ahead and turn in there, but we’re going to need to walk the rest of the way,”
“Are you serious?”
“Oh, grow up, Dean.”
“Says the one sitting in the middle of the backseat.”
“You’re so lucky I love this car as much as you do, otherwise I’d make you drive her into a tree.”
“You wouldn’t.”
“Try me, baby brother,”
“Alright, that’s enough,” Sam waved his hands, cutting them off. “As much as I like seeing you two go at it, now’s not the time.”
Both Dean and (Y/N) opened their mouths to object but stopped themselves. They each grumbled something incoherent under their breath. Dean returned to the road and (Y/N) looked down at his phone.
“Are you going to turn here?” He asked.
“Yeah,” Dean mumbled.
Dean slowly turned the wheel and edged the Impala onto the beginning of a dirt path. A couple of feet ahead of the car, the path narrowed and was overgrown by trees. Even if the Impala would have been smaller, there was no possible way it would be able to fit down the path. It appeared to be more the size of a hiking or bike trail. Once the car was settled, Dean turned the engine off, the heavy purr dying to a low hum as the heat dissipated. The headlights stayed on for a couple of seconds before going out.
“Let’s rock ‘n roll,” Dean grunted as he stepped out of the car.
Sam and (Y/N) soon followed after, the three of them heading to the back of the car. Dean popped the trunk and lifted the cover, revealing their large array of weapons. Each of them took their respective weapons and sheathed them before the trunk was closed with a heavy bang that echoed throughout the trees.
“Could you be any louder? We don’t know how close the schoolhouse is from here.” (Y/N) grumbled.
“Bite me,” Dean mumbled.
“Guys,” Sam sighed.
(Y/N) held up his hand in surrender. “Fine, fine,” he turned away from his brothers and began to make his way towards the dirt path.
“You sure it’s down this way?” Sam asked, following after him.
“Yeah, that is, if we assume the coordinates are accurate.”
“And you’re sure you can trust Google with that?” Dean asked.
“Same as we trust any other research material. All I know is that it should be in some type of field.”
Dean nodded, satisfied with the answer.
They began to make their way down the dark, dirt path, towards the canopy of trees, bent after years of surviving thunderstorm after thunderstorm. As they approached the trees, they pulled their flashlights out, illuminating the path ahead. The treetops were thick and heavy, the moonlight disappearing when they passed the entrance to the woods.
Thirty minutes filled with dodging bulging tree roots and low tree branches, accompanied by some complaints from Dean about how far they had walked, moonbeams became visible through the upcoming branches. (Y/N) held up his hand, and turned off his light, before he walked towards the clearing. Sam and Dean followed suit, killing the light.
Past the wall of tree branches, a field became visible. Sat in the middle, about twenty feet away from the group, was an old, dilapidated building. The building sat in front of them, tall and menacing, as if a dark aura circled the decaying brick exterior. It stood three stories tall, some windows broken, and glass surrounding the foundation. The steps out front were cracked with some concrete pieces scattered about near the bottom. The bold lettering that rested right above the front doors was faded, some letters almost invisible, but it was clear that it was supposed to read out the name of the school. (Y/N) couldn’t help but wonder how the interior of the building looked compared to the outside.
One thing that struck the group as odd, however, was the fact that some of the windows were filled with warm lights, indicating power had been added to the ancient building. It wasn’t until they got closer that they realized a small hum was disrupting the evening crickets in their peaceful song. (Y/N) raised his hand, halting their movements. They got down low, the only cover they had being the overgrown grass that engulfed their bodies.
“They’re using a generator.” (Y/N)’s voice was low and deep.
Sam sighed. “And it looks like there’s only one entrance. I wouldn’t trust those windows either. No one knows how long it’s been since they’ve been opened.”
Dean shook his head. “That’s gotta be against fire code to have one doorway.” He mumbled.
“The fire code came around in the 1600s, but I highly doubt these settlers cared about it.” (Y/N) muttered. “I’m going to sneak towards the generator and turn it off. You two keep an eye out to see if there’s any movement inside. We can go in then,”
“Got it,” they said in unison.
(Y/N) gave a brief nod before he headed towards the building, keeping low in case of peering eyes from the windows. Rounding the side of the building, the humming became almost deafening. A dull light illuminated a small patch of grass on the other side of the school. With his eyes glued to the light, (Y/N) swiftly made his way around and to the back. The generator sat against the foundation, rumbling loudly and shaking the earth around it. He grabbed his flashlight from his waistband and shone it on the generator, furrowing his brows as he looked for a way to stop it. Finally, he saw the power switch, took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself for the task ahead, and switched it off.
The power died immediately, the once bright school house going dark in an instant. (Y/N) knew he had to be quick. He made his way back towards the front. Sam and Dean stood at the base of the steps, their weapons drawn. (Y/N) drew his before he joined his brothers.
“Alright, let’s gank these sons of bitches,” he mumbled, taking the lead as they entered the school.
It was a lot darker inside than they originally thought it would be. Despite the massive windows in each room, the decades' worth of dust covered the natural moonlight, engulfing them in darkness. They brought out their flashlights, illuminating the entranceway. Their dim lights skimmed over the walls and floors, taking it in as they took careful steps deeper into the school.
The interior of the school was just as damaged as the exterior. No longer was it a place of learning, but a place filled with debris and graffiti. Artwork and random words riddled the walls in different colored spray paints and many wooden panels lined the floor that were covered in a ripped-up, faded green carpet. The three of them took their time navigating through the mess that was near the front door to get to the main hall. A room was located to the left, which would appear to be the location of the office and the home of the principal when the school was in operation.
A couple of feet away from the front door, there was an archway that led down a narrow hallway as well as a staircase to the right. The halls were a little more clean compared to the entrance. All of the debris was pushed to one side or the other, making it a little easier to navigate through. (Y/N) turned to his brothers and gestured down the hall.
“You two take this hall and I’ll check upstairs,” he spoke, his voice barely above a whisper, yet booming in the dead silence that surrounded them.
Dean furrowed his brows. “What? No.” Dean protested, his voice at the same level as (Y/N)’s had been. “We stick together.”
“There shouldn’t be too many in here. I’ll be fine on my own. You two stick together, and shout if you need help.”
“But-”
“Dean,” (Y/N)’s tone was low. “I’m not arguing about this.”
Dean shared a glance with Sam before he shook his head in disapproval and began to make his way down the hallway. (Y/N) watched them for a couple of seconds before he turned. He stalked towards the narrow staircase, caged in by cracked and deteriorating walls. Other than the small amount of concrete or wood that was scattered around on the stairs that he had to avoid, they were rather clear compared to the entrance. Gingerly, he placed his hand on top of the railing, an old wooden rod that had paint and wood chipped away at it. He used it as a guide as he made his way up and to the second floor. The stairs creaked under his weight, despite his careful steps.
While he walked, he concentrated heavily on his sense of hearing. With his sight limited, he was relying exclusively on his ears to tell him if anyone, or anything, was near. When he reached the landing, he shone his flashlight down a hall that looked identical to the one Sam and Dean had wandered down.
The second floor was in the same state as the first floor with scattered debris on either one side or the other of the walkway. Doors lined the walls, some fully opened, and some cracked ever so slightly. One by one, he took a step into every room, shining his light around all four corners. He whispered a quiet ‘clear’ following each empty room he examined.
All of the rooms were dimly lit with the mixture of (Y/N)’s flashlight and the faded moonbeams begging to go through the dusty windows. Chairs and desks were strewed about, some toppled over, while others rested in, presumably, the same spot they did all those years ago. Those tables and chairs were unknowingly preserving the history of the once-active school.
It was quiet. Too quiet. A part of (Y/N) wanted to believe that the intel they received might have been wrong, that no demons were haunting the very halls he walked, but the generator out back told no lies. Squatters wouldn’t waste what little money they had on luxuries such as that, nor would they put forth the time and the effort to wire the entire building. The other part of him, the logical side, told him that the demons were good. Sneaky. They knew how to hide and they did it well. He had to be even more focused than he already had been.
He hoped Sam and Dean were doing okay.
Perhaps it wasn’t the best idea to split up.
(Y/N) got to the last room, on the left side of the hallway. He noted that it was the only door that had been shut, making sure to be extra cautious as he reached a hand forward, grasping the splintered doorknob. As he opened the door, the aged hinges creaked, the sound echoing down the hallway, breaking the uneasy silence. The room was noticeably darker than the rest, not an ounce of moonlight visible. (Y/N) raised his light and shone it around the room. He took a couple of steps inside, broken glass crackling underneath his boots. When he shined his light on the window, he noticed that it had been completely boarded up, the remnants of a black trash bag that had once covered it hanging from nails lazily placed along the window sill.
Just as he got to the center of the room, the door hinges creaked again, loud and eerie. (Y/N) was quick to turn around, but he was only able to catch the final seconds before the door closed. His breathing stopped, heart racing inside of his chest. He listened, closely, but he heard nothing. No footsteps. No breathing. Nothing.
“Guess who,” A deep, scratchy, all too familiar voice spoke.
The same voice that plagued his mind and haunted his dreams.
He froze.
Like a deer in headlights.
Then, his world went black.
*~*
The harsh light wasn’t good for his pounding head. A throaty moan slipped past (Y/N)’s lips as he awoke, vision blurry and eyes watery. He slowly lifted his head, groaning at the noticeable crick in his neck. He could feel that he was slouched in a chair, his back was aching from the posture, but he felt too nauseous and weak to fix it. When his vision cleared, he was able to take in some of the details of the room he was in. It was obvious that the room used to be one of the many classrooms, desks and chairs were pushed to one side of the room, stacked up to the point where they could topple at any moment. A single window stood across the way, the bottom half completely shattered with a puddle of broken shards resting beneath. The chill night air whistled and caressed his face. To his right were two massive floodlights, shining down on him. To his left, were Sam and Dean, bound to chairs the same as he was.
Sam and Dean.
(Y/N) quickly sat up, despite the throbbing in his head. In an attempt to move his arms, he could feel how tight the ropes were around his wrists and forearms. The demons were skilled, it seemed.
“Well, look who finally decided to wake up,” Dean grumbled, his speech coming out slurred.
He has a concussion.
“What the Hell happened?” (Y/N) hissed.
“They came out of nowhere,” Sam mumbled. His eyes were half-lidded, looking as if he was experiencing the same pain as (Y/N).
“There were too many of them.” Dean finished.
(Y/N) cursed under his breath as he tried to wiggle his arms out of the binds, but it was all to no avail. He was used to being held captive by people who didn’t know how to tie a knot, but the way he was tied up was rather intricate. He wasn’t too sure he would be able to break out of it.
“How many did you guys run into?”
“I don’t know, man,” Dean answered. “A dozen, maybe more. You?”
(Y/N) stopped moving, his eyes cast down to the floor. “Just one,”
“One? You got taken out by a single demon?”
“It was dark,” (Y/N) defended himself with a growl. “I couldn’t see anything, I couldn’t hear anything. It was silent.”
Don’t think about his voice. Don’t think about his voice.
“Still, to be taken out by one demon, geez,” Dean mumbled.
“Look, I don’t have time to argue with you! I’m trying to get us out of here!”
“Don’t worry your pretty little head about that,” a sweet, sultry, female voice echoed in the room. “You won’t be going anywhere anytime soon,” a demon came from behind them, a wide smile on her lips.
She walked behind (Y/N), grabbed the knots connected to his wrists and arms, and tugged at them.
“Did these myself,” she spoke proudly. “Wasn’t too difficult, really. Just seems as if people aren’t willing to teach themselves anything useful anymore,” she pursed her lips, crossing her arms underneath her breasts.
(Y/N) snarled as the frayed ropes rubbed against his skin, scratching the surface. “If you’re done boosting your ego for five minutes, I’d really appreciate it if you let us go.” He spoke between clenched teeth.
The demon let out a boisterous laugh as she walked around the chair to stand in front of him. “Are you kidding?” She scoffed. “The Winchesters practically fall into our lap, and you think we’re going to let you go? Just like that?” She snapped her fingers. “Now, what would my boss think of me if I did that?”
“And who, exactly, is your boss?” Dean asked.
“Oh, you know him. Quite well, actually. He’s so excited to see you all again.” She walked over to (Y/N), the back of her hand brushing against his cheek gingerly. “Especially you.” Her voice was low, menacing.
With that, the demon left, the click of the doorknob filling the silence. (Y/N) was tense. He could feel his heart hammering in his chest. Gooseflesh littered his arms, the hairs standing up. The panic began to set in.
Have to get out. Have to get out. Have to get out. HAVE TO GET OUT.
“We have to go.” (Y/N) said, his voice barely above a whisper and shaky.
(Y/N) began to frantically pull at the ropes, only resulting in them tightening around his arms. His muscles strained, shoulders shifting. Sam and Dean both tried to wiggle out of their confinements. Sam’s movements were slower and more thoughtful than his brothers’.
“Do you know who she’s talking about?” Sam leaned his head close to (Y/N), voice hushed.
“Doesn’t matter. What matters is that we get the fuck out of here.” (Y/N)’s voice was louder than it normally would have been, the anxiety flooding his words.
Sam and Dean shared a look of concern but decided to say nothing. They had never seen their brother so frazzled. Dare they say, scared? If there was one thing that (Y/N) never experienced when he was on hunts, it was fear. (Y/N) was always the one who kept a calm and collected attitude, barked orders, kept victims quiet during stressful situations, and he was the one Sam and Dean always fell back on. It was as if the brother they were bound next to wasn’t the same person.
They all worked on getting the ropes off of them. Sam and Dean weren’t struggling as much as (Y/N) seemed to, who, at first glance, one would assume had never gotten out of binds before. That was far from the truth. He was, normally, the first one to get out of the ropes, as if he was an escape artist in a previous life. It was rather evident that something was wrong. Terribly wrong. Sam and Dean, however, didn’t have the slightest clue.
Have to get out. Have to get out.
CLICK
The door opened, and (Y/N) froze. He was sure his heart stopped as well. Every muscle felt as if they were tying themselves together in intricate knots. The creaking hinges seemed louder than before, almost as if they were teasing him. Laughing at his pain. Mocking him. Or, perhaps, they were warning him.
Please don’t be him. Please don’t be him.
“Well, well, well…” The voice spoke, amusement evident.
(Y/N)’s blood ran cold. In situations like that, when faced with immediate danger, our brain turns to one of three options; fight, flight, or freeze. You can defend yourself, run away, or accept your fate. Being tied to the chair didn’t give (Y/N) the chance for flight, and there wasn’t an ounce of fight left in his body. So, he sat there, frozen, eyes wide with fear. The last time he was filled with that much fear was when he last encountered the demon. Unfortunately, it hadn’t been that long ago.
A hand on his shoulder caused him to jump. He knew that touch all too well. It felt as if fire was spreading from the hand, down his torso, and through the rest of his body.
Azazel turned to stand in front of the three Winchesters, his deep, yellow eyes lingering over (Y/N)’s body. Sam and Dean tensed, their jaws clenched, noses scrunched as they stared down the demon.
“Yellow eyes,” Dean said between clenched teeth.
“Oh, come on, Dean, you know I’m much more than just my eyes,” Azazel smirked. “You know, me and my demons were having a fairly good night. Got a lot planned for you, Sammy. Of course, the plan has some kinks to work through, but what plan doesn’t? A peaceful night, nonetheless. Imagine my surprise when the lights turned off. Not only that, but imagine my surprise when I hear who turned it off.”
Azazel’s eyes scanned over the brothers, but they always wandered back to (Y/N). Each time they did, it felt like he was getting stabbed in the gut.
“You know,” Azazel continued. “I can’t thank you enough for showing up unannounced. I mean, that’s one less child I need to find,” he gestured to Sam. “Not only that,” Azazel turned to (Y/N), stalking over toward him at an agonizing pace. “But you brought my favorite little plaything.”
This isn’t real. This can’t be real. Please don’t let this be real.
When Azazel placed his calloused hand on (Y/N)’s jaw, fingers trailing down to his chin, (Y/N) was faced with the brutal reality that everything was real. (Y/N) hadn’t realized how much he had been shaking until Azazel let out a deep laugh.
“Still scared?” He teased, his tongue poking through his eerie grin.
“Leave him alone,” Sam growled. “It’s me you want.”
“Correction, Sam, I want both of you.”
“Why? What is he to you!?”
Azazel looked at Sam, then Dean, then back at Sam. His brows raised as a look of realization crossed his face. “Oh,” he cooed, tilting his head to the side as he bent down in front of (Y/N), their noses almost touching. “You never told them, did you.”
“Told us what?” Dean questioned. “(Y/N), what the Hell is he talking about!?”
(Y/N) couldn’t speak. He felt as if there were cobwebs in his throat, his lips and mouth dry, and no part of his body wanted to function. Azazel stared into his eyes. Correction: Azazel stared into his soul. The soul that he had left was damaged. Oh, did that fact fill the demon with pride. Azazel’s lips curled up at the corner of his mouth as he stood up straight. He sauntered over so he was standing in front of Sam and Dean.
“Months ago…” Azazel began. “After your dear old Daddy passed, your brother decided to go on a little manhunt, all on his own.”
Sam and Dean turned their gaze to (Y/N). Sam’s eyes were wide with shock and betrayal, while Dean’s expression could only be described as pure anger. Their minds immediately drifted to the worst possible outcome from that hunt. Their first thought drifted to him selling his soul. Making a deal with Azazel. While that seemed like a possibility, it didn’t make sense, as Azazel still spoke as if he had plans for Sam. What could (Y/N) have done?
Azazel began to make his way back over to (Y/N), his back straight, his posture intimidating. “After a couple of pathetic weeks of trying to find me, he was finally able to catch up to me.” Azazel stood in front of him. Slowly, he leaned down, his breath fanning over (Y/N)’s face. “Do you want to tell them all of the gory details? Or should I?”
(Y/N)’s breath quickened, chest noticeably rising and falling at a rapid pace. The panic became evident on his face. Azazel reached a hand up and let it rest on (Y/N)’s knee.
“Do you want to tell them how you quivered under my touch? How you were shaking and sobbing? How you were crying for them to save you?”
As he talked, his hand trailed further and further up his thigh, getting dangerously close to his crotch. (Y/N)’s body began to convulse, eyes bulging from their sockets. Whimpers escaped his parted lips as he tried desperately to wiggle away from his touch.
Have to get away. Have to get away. Get away. GET AWAY.
“Hey!” Sam shouted.
“Get away from him!” Dean exclaimed.
“Tell me,” Azazel continued, ignoring Sam and Dean’s loud protests, his attention solely focused on (Y/N). “Do you still hear my voice as you drift off to sleep at night? Do you still feel my fingers digging into your hips? Do you still feel my cock inside that tight little hole of yours?” He grunted as he gripped (Y/N)’s penis through his jeans tightly.
“No! Please!” (Y/N) screamed louder than he had ever screamed before. Tears rolled down his cheeks freely, painting his face with their wetness. He desperately attempted to get away, not caring that the ropes dug into his flesh, rubbing it raw. His sobs echoed off the walls.
“That’s right,” Azazel grinned wickedly, teeth and jaw clenched. Somehow, his quiet voice was the only thing (Y/N) could hear. Not the hum of the floodlights, not his brothers’ angry shouts, just Azazel. “Cry, my little pet.”
“You son of a bitch! I’ll kill you! Do you hear me? I will fucking kill you!” Dean screamed to the point of almost instantly becoming hoarse.
“Oh, I hear you boys loud and clear.” Azazel pulled his hand away from (Y/N). “And I must say, it’s getting rather irritating. I might just have to take my pet somewhere else to play.”
“Don’t you dare,” Sam snarled.
“Well, not now. I’ve worked him up a little too much for me to have a good time playing with him.” He glanced at (Y/N), licking his lips predatorily. “It won’t be any fun making him scream now. Don’t want him to lose his voice too soon. Besides, you two made a mess of one of our rooms, and I need to make sure that everything necessary is accounted for.”
Azazel continued to stare at (Y/N), obvious amusement etched on his face. The tears continued to fall, but he was silent. His bottom lip wobbled. By the way his Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, it was evident he was holding back cries he desperately wanted to let out. Azazel grabbed him tightly by the jaw, tilted his head up, and planted a rough, bruising kiss on his lips. Before Sam and Dean could resume their shouting, he pulled away.
“I’ll see you soon, little pet.” He purred, fingers trailing over his wet cheeks before he stalked out of the room, not even giving Sam and Dean a second glance.
Click
Creak
Slam
Silence
The three of them sat there and said nothing. (Y/N) stared off towards the window, head moving from side to side ever so slightly. His brain was foggy and dizzy from the overstimulation. Dean’s jaw was clenched, nostrils flared. His eyes glimmered with a murderous rage. He stared at his older brother - his broken older brother - before turning his attention over to Sam. Sam shared the same look of anger as he did.
What no one had been aware of was that, while the chaos with Azazel unfolded, Sam had been working on the ropes around his arms. A couple of silent seconds after they were left alone in the room, Sam let out a grunt and pulled his arms apart. The ropes fell onto the floor with a light thud. With determination in his eyes, Sam turned and untied (Y/N) first before going over to Dean. Once Dean was free, he stood, stretched his neck muscles, and then turned for the door, eyes flooded with blind rage. Sam was quick to grab him by the upper arm, stopping him in his tracks.
“What’re you doing?” He whispered.
“I’m going after that son of a bitch, Sam, what do you think I’m doing?” Dean retorted.
“We can’t. There are too many of them, and we don’t have our weapons anymore.”
“I’ll take my chances,” Dean pulled his arm from Sam’s grasp and turned to leave, but was quickly grabbed by Sam once more. “Let go, Sam.”
“Dean, I want the bastard dead just as much as you do, even more now, but we’re outnumbered. Plus, (Y/N) needs us.”
Hearing his brother’s name snapped him out of the trance he was in. Dean snapped his head around towards (Y/N), who was still sitting in the chair.
“(Y/N),” he breathed, quickly making his way over to him. Sam followed.
Once they were in front of (Y/N), they could see just how much he was affected. His arms hung at his side lamely, his gaze still set towards the window. They were empty, devoid of any emotion. His cheeks were still stained, and his lips were slightly parted. They had started to swell.
“Hey, hey, (Y/N),” Dean reached up and cupped his face, turning his head so he would look at him. “Hey, buddy, you’re okay. You’re safe. He’s not here anymore, but we have to get out of here. Can you stand up?”
Silence.
Dean slowly nodded. “Alright, Sam, you get that window open and we’ll get out of here. I’ll grab him.”
Sam moved over to the window, scraping some of the broken glass away from it. He glanced out the window and let out a breath of relief when he saw they were on the first floor. He grabbed the top of the window, lifting it, but it didn’t budge. He cursed under his breath and took a deep breath as he hoisted the window open with all of his strength. The bottom half of the window slammed upwards, causing the wall to shake. He raised his brows and turned to Dean, gesturing him over quickly.
Dean reached under (Y/N)’s legs and picked him up bridal style. He held him tight and close to his chest as he swiftly made his way over to the window. Sam was the first one to climb out, hissing as the splinters from the window sill embedded themselves into his hands. Once his feet were on the ground, he turned back to the window.
“Pass him through,” he held his arms out.
Dean glanced behind him at the door before he helped Sam get (Y/N) through the window. Once (Y/N) was through, Sam cradled him in his arms just as Dean had. Dean moved even faster to get out of the window. When they were outside, they could see, in the distance, the familiar sight of the sun peeking out past the horizon. They shared a glance, examined their surroundings, and then rushed back towards the tall trees at the edge of the field.
They ran at Mach speed through the forest, hopping over roots and dodging protruding branches. Now and then, Sam would look down at his brother, still held tight to his chest, but the same, vacant expression was always present on his face. Sam was, admittedly, worried for him. He had never seen (Y/N) in such a vulnerable state. He was always the level-headed one, so put together. He was the one that Sam and Dean leaned on in times of trouble, the one that picked them up when they were down, the one to jump to their aid when they needed him the most without any hesitation.
And here he was, carrying him in his arms, the broken shell of his oldest brother. Never, in a million years, would he have imagined this scenario. To him, it was always supposed to be the other way around, as it had been on multiple occasions. He felt so heavy, but, at the same time, light as a feather, as if Sam could carry him for hundreds of miles if he had to. He would in a heartbeat.
By the time they reached the edge of the wood, the sky had turned a brilliant pinkish-orange, and mourning doves began to sing their elegant tune. Dean broke out into a wide grin as Baby came into view.
“Oh, Baby, I am never leaving you again,” he mumbled as he ran his hand over her hood.
“Dean? Keys?” Sam raised his brows.
Dean slowly frowned. He patted his jean pockets, then his coat pockets. He grumbled, unzipped his coat, and reached inside. After seconds of searching, he let out a heavy sigh of relief as he pulled the keys out of an inner pocket.
“Thank God for inside pockets.”
Sam rolled his eyes. “Just get the door opened.”
“Right, right…”
Dean unlocked the car before he rounded the corner to the back passenger’s side. He opened the door.
“How is he?” He asked.
Sam took a moment to look down at (Y/N). He was so focused on getting them as far away from the school as possible, that he didn’t even notice that he had fallen asleep. Sam felt relief wash over him, glad that his brother didn’t have to experience any more of those negative thoughts he must’ve had. At least, not at that moment. Carefully, Sam navigated his way to the backseat, laying (Y/N) on his side. He made sure not to wake him. With everything he had gone through and all the emotions that had seemingly piled onto him all at once, he wasn’t sure how easy (Y/N) would be to wake up. He must have been exhausted.
“He’s fine, at least, for now,” Sam mumbled.
Once (Y/N) was situated in the backseat, Sam stretched, not having realized the strain he had received from carrying him for so long. He closed the door as quietly as he could and took his spot in the passenger’s seat. Dean walked around the car and got into the driver’s side. He was quick to start the car, the rumble of the engine sending vibrations through the seats. Dean pulled off the dirt road and did a U-Turn, heading back into town.
The first five minutes of the ride were silent. Not even the radio dared speak up. Sam and Dean’s eyes were glued to the road, both of them taking turns to occasionally look back at (Y/N).
Dean was the first one to speak.
“We need to get the Hell out of Dodge.” He said.
Sam nodded. “You’re right. If Yellow Eyes is this close, he’ll waste no time trying to find us. I can go in, pack all of our stuff, and check us out. Then, I say we drive as far away as possible.”
“I couldn’t agree more.”
Another deep silence. Dean was the first one to speak again.
“How come he never told us?”
Sam hesitated for a moment, considering the question himself. He tried to look at it from a personal standpoint. Why didn’t he tell them? They’re family. They tell each other everything. But do they? He tried to look at it from a logical standpoint.
It was one thing the Winchesters were notorious for; their lack of communication when it comes to their emotions. It was preached to them when they were younger, that emotions were the reason hunters got killed. You had to go in, get the job done, and don’t let it get to you. Then again, a vast majority of hunters are alcoholics, so what does that say about them? They are human, after all.
What happens when something serious occurs? Something so traumatic that they lose themselves at the first sight of the enemy? That was something neither the hunting life nor their father had prepared them for. At that point, they were lost.
Sam shook his head. “I don’t know. I mean, you saw the way he acted when Yellow Eyes walked in.”
Dean’s jaw clenched. “Yeah.”
“I couldn’t imagine what he was going through, nor what he went through. I mean, if something like that happened to you, would you tell us?”
Dean opened his mouth to speak but stopped himself. He clenched onto the steering wheel. “No,” he mumbled.
“Exactly, I mean…” he trailed. “This is fucked up.”
“Yeah, extremely fucked up. You have no idea how hard it is for me to drive away. I wanna go back there and kill him so bad.” Dean spoke between clenched teeth, his grip on the wheel so tight his knuckles turned white.
“Trust me, Dean, I get it.” Sam nodded. “But right now, we should focus on (Y/N). He needs us right now, more than anything.”
Dean looked over at Sam for a second before glancing in the rearview mirror at his older brother’s sleeping form. On that day, he vowed that he would kill Azazel with his own two hands.
*~*
His vision was fading, black spots decorating his peripherals. Any sound had been replaced with a low buzz. His breathing was staggered and labored. Every inch of his body was on fire as if he was being burned from the inside out. The only relief he felt was the cool concrete that was pressed against his cheek. It felt as if his body weighed a thousand pounds. No matter how much he wanted to, he couldn’t move.
Suddenly, the pain shot through his body like a bullet, his muscles and nerves tensing. He opened his mouth to scream, but nothing came out.
“Aw, isn’t that cute,” Azazel growled from above him.
(Y/N)’s fear-filled eyes shot towards the sound of his voice. Azazel’s deep, yellow eyes stared into him intently, filled with rage, lust, and desire. (Y/N) tried to scream louder, but, still, no sound came out.
“Sam! Dean! Help me, please!” He mouthed, hot tears streaming down his face.
“Look at you trying to call out for your brothers. Well, I hate to break it to you, little pet, but they aren’t here, and they’ll never find you if I can help it.”
Azazel caressed his cheek before grabbing his hair roughly, yanking his head back. In a flash, a cool, sharp black was pressed against his neck.
“Now, be a good boy and take it.”
The pain intensified, lightning shooting through his veins.
Take it.
Please.
Take it.
Someone.
Take it!
Help me.
TAKE IT
*~*
(Y/N) gasped as he jolted upright, eyes wide and alert. His chest rose and fell with the rhythm of his pants. In an instant, Sam and Dean were by his side. Dean stood next to the bed while Sam sat next to him.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay,” Sam spoke in a soothing voice, hesitantly reaching toward him. “You’re safe, (Y/N).”
(Y/N) jerked away from his touch, and Sam was quick to pull back. As (Y/N) attempted to gather himself, he looked around the room. They were in a motel room, although it was different than the one (Y/N) remembered being in. What did he remember? The last thing he could recall was the look on Azazel’s face as he smirked down at him, the look in those deep, demonic eyes. Those damned eyes. He didn’t remember leaving the school, nor did he remember their journey to another motel room.
“Where are we?” he asked quietly, his voice hoarse and broken.
“Chattanooga,” Dean replied. “A couple hours south of where we were.”
(Y/N) nodded in acknowledgment. Then it was silent. No one said anything, the only sound filling the room was the electricity coursing through the air from the outdated box TV sat on the dresser. (Y/N)’s gaze was cast down towards the discolored comforter while Sam and Dean shared a glance as if silently urging one another to say something. Finally, it was Sam who spoke up.
“Look, if you don’t wanna talk about it, we-”
“He was right,” (Y/N) interrupted.
Sam and Dean looked at each other before they turned their attention back to their older brother. Dean sat down on the bed opposite (Y/N), and leaned forward, hands folded.
“Everything he said was true.” (Y/N) swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat.
“So, after dad died…” Sam trailed.
“When I went AWOL? Yeah. I, uh, I had found where he was. Didn’t take that long, at least, not as long as I thought it was going to take. I was so set on killing him that I didn’t take into account the fact that there might be other demons with him. It was like I was…blind by rage…” (Y/N) lowered his head and twiddled his thumbs. “I was captured pretty easily, I hate to admit. Then, he came in…you know the rest.”
(Y/N) was unaware of the tears that had begun to form in the corner of his eyes. He refused to look at his brothers. What would they say? What would they think? Would they be disappointed? Disgusted? Betrayed? He didn’t think he could handle what they thought about him at that moment.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Dean asked softly.
(Y/N) glanced up at them, brows furrowed with a look of confusion. Sam and Dean’s expressions conveyed a feeling of sadness. Of hurt. (Y/N) clenched his hands into weak fists and looked down.
“I’m your big brother. I’m supposed to be the one to protect you guys, not the other way around. I’m supposed to be the strong one. How would you think of me knowing your big brother couldn’t even stop himself from getting raped?” (Y/N)’s voice broke, tears flowing more freely.
Sam and Dean watched (Y/N) hug himself tightly. Slowly, they began to make their way onto the bed, not wanting to startle him in such a fragile state. With Sam on one side and Dean on the other, they wrapped their arms loosely and gently around his shaking frame.
“(Y/N), I hope you know that we don’t think any less of you because of this,” Sam said.
“Yeah, this isn’t your fault,” Dean agreed.
(Y/N) shook his head. “If I wouldn’t have gone after him…” he sobbed.
Dean shushed him, reaching a hand up to gently caress his head. (Y/N) stopped what he was saying and just leaned against his brothers. The Winchesters were never good with comfort. Get over it, they were always told. Stop being so sensitive. Real men don’t cry, type of narrative. They all just sat there in silence, sobs continuing to fall from (Y/N)’s lips.
He was always so scared about the way his brothers would react. He decided to take a page out of John Winchester’s book of dealing with his emotions. Bottle it up and everything would be okay, which was completely false. That much was evident back at the schoolhouse. (Y/N) wasn’t okay. Hell, that had been the first moment he had verbally admitted that he had been raped, and it hurt.
Even though he felt a small sense of security in the arms of his brothers, he still didn’t feel safe. Knowing Azazel, his rapist, was still roaming the world in search of them always kept him on edge. He wasn’t sure he would ever feel peace unless he witnessed, firsthand, the life drain from those yellow eyes of his. After that, he wasn’t certain how he would feel.
“Hey,” Dean’s voice broke the dead silence.
(Y/N) looked up at him, eyes red, but slowly drying. Dean gazed down at him with a look of determination on his face.
“We got this, okay? As long as you’re with us, we won’t let anything else happen to you. You’ve been our big brother and protected us our whole lives. Now it’s our turn to protect you.”
(Y/N) took a moment to look at Dean, then looked over at Sam. He gave a small, brief nod as he pulled them closer for a tighter embrace.
“Thank you,” he spoke in a hushed tone.
“Don’t even worry about it,” Sam shook his head. “You would do the same for us.”
(Y/N) nodded.
“And if there’s one thing I can promise you, (Y/N), it’s that the next time I see that slimy bastard, I won’t hesitate to put a bullet between his eyes,” Dean growled, holding his brother close.
(Y/N) couldn’t help but give a small smile, because, while the Winchesters weren’t good at comfort or expressing their griefs with one another, there was one thing that made them stand out amongst everyone else;
When they promised to kill something, nothing on God’s green Earth could get in their way.

One of the reasons why Nick's story in s14 doesn't work form me is because of the show's insistence to pigeonhole Lucifer as "the supreme agent of evil". Of course, this is considered true in our real world (lol), specifically Christian world, but in-universe it just... doesn't work? If we want to go full-on dichotomy (and S14 very much goes there) if Lucifer's evil, who's the primary agent of good? No one, exactly. Definitely not Heaven.
Because there are, like, TEN seasons of angels going total batshit crazy, I mean we know that angels=good isn't a view the show supports since Cas appears in "Lazarus Rising". And we know that ALL angels downright lie, manipulate and coerce humans to get their "consent". We also know that the main issue with "the devil's spawn" in s12 was not so much "the devil" but the fact that "a Nephilim came into being".
The problem is NOT that who'll later be Jack is Lucifer's son, the problem is that he's a Nephilim. Lucifer has weight in the discourse merely because he's an archangel, NOT because he's the primary agent of evil. The issue is that "grace+soul"=a fucking lot of power. And a fucking lot of power means a fucking lot of problems.
We also know that humans get severely depressed after a possession, they have to face many struggles and sometimes society alienates them (see: "Repo Man"). So the argument that Nick's psyche is damaged because Lucifer's so evil his influence's still there even after he's departed is just... weak? A random demon can possess a random Jeffrey and the damages on the human psyche are still IMMENSE. From the human perspective random demon or most powerful archangel in the world are the same thing: they can carry out the same violence, abuse and trauma.
I might be wrong but what I get from the season is that the "primary agent of good" is the soul. And this is ALSO not true? Because shit gets real when Jack starts losing it, sort of implying that without the soul, his luciferian grace will make him become evil or will make him do evil things ("the devil made me do it" mentality). But we literally have a character such as Castiel, Angel of the Lord and Maker of Huge Mistakes but also Not in Possess of a Human Soul who actively strives to do good things (and he fails miserably so maybe he's not a good example but HE IS JACK'S CHOSEN FATHER, it MUST mean something ffs).
I think, maybe, I don't find the shift from "Nephilim" to "Lucifer's son" compelling because Jack's real "problem" (if we want to call it so) is that he's half (arch)angel and half human. Like, being an angel is a fucking issue in this show because these creatures are a bit deranged okay? LOL. On the other hand, being human is ALSO a fucking issue because it 100% doesn't warrant inherent goodness. Humans can be deranged creatures, too, okay? :D Both species can definitely just make mistakes, do bad things wanting to do bad things or ending up doing bad things without intention to do so. Ultimately, Jack's dilemma is being Other, just like his chosen father and just like Kripke-era Sam.
I still stand by my idea that all angels are a little bit like Lucifer. And there are episodes such as "Of Gods and Monsters" that sort of confirm it. When Nick calls Cas out and tells him "Castiel, you’re just a stone cold body snatcher. You’re no different than Lucifer" he's exactly pointing out the hypocrisy. Hell, the whole episode seems to question the season's main theme because Michael is literally possessing Dean, he conned him, he tells him that he owns him, he's creating an army of monsters as they speak, he's brutally torturing them but the primary agent of evil is still little ol' Lucifer.
Although, truth be told, I didn't particularly feel the need to learn more about Nick (sorry Nick, I know you're there so that Mark Pellegrimo could stay on payroll, I don't hold it against you), I can't deny that it had great potential as a narrative choice (let's not even go into the Sam/Nick parallels). But, to me, it didn't deliver because the show's murky on where it stands: on paper it wants to show the fallacies of "black and white" thinking but it effectively supports the same "black and white" view of the world that it seeks to question.
#it seems like the fandom hates lucifer but i find him an interesting character?#he was unfrotunately being possessed by mark pellegrino who (rightly cause money's a bitch) wouldn't let him go#but up until s12 it was a character that I wanted to see more of#lucifer spn#nick spn#jack kline#supernatural#castiel#spn#spn s14

Day 15: Sigils
(Inspired by Somebody Else's Thanksgiving by @posingasme .)
WHEN THE CALL came in from Castiel to meet him at an old abandoned property, Dean almost went alone. With the way he and Sam had seemed to be working weirdly at cross-purposes despite supposedly being on the same page, it was only Castiel's sharp insistence that had him calling for Sam to join him. The way Sam looked at him, like he knew Dean had wanted to leave him behind and was simultaneously resentful and resigned to it made guilt churn in Dean's gut harshly. He shoved it down and waited impatiently for Sam to slide into the Impala's passenger seat before gunning the engine and driving them out to the old shack.
There were two bodies outside, the ground blackened with the shadows of huge wings seared into the ground. Sam made a sound in his throat like a keen that was partway to gagging, and took off for the shack at a run, leaving Dean to curse and follow.
"Cas!" Sam shouted as he flung the door open. "Castiel!"
"I'm here, Sam," the now-familiar gravelly voice answered. The angel stood motionless inside a circle of fire just inside the main room, the walls of the shack painted with bloody sigils, many of which Dean recognized from Bobby's panic room. "Don't break the sigils or the circle of holy fire. It's the only thing keeping them from being able to summon me."
"Who?" Dean demanded, when Sam only swallowed and nodded. "Summon you where?"
"Back to Heaven," came the disquieting answer. "The Archangels don't want you learning what I have to tell you."
"The bodies outside...." Sam started, then stopped, shuddering.
"Angels," Castiel confirmed gravely. "Sent to bring me in. I regret killing them, but I could not let them prevent me from speaking to you. Dean, Sam... Heaven wants the Apocalypse to happen."
"Oh, no," Sam whispered, barely audible around the roaring in Dean's ears.
He wasn't nearly so restrained.
"What the fuck?!" he shouted. "What, so all that running around and saving Seals, was that actually just moving everything along faster?!"
"More an attempt at misdirection and manipulation," Castiel said, shattering Dean's world further. "Only the First and Final Seals are immutable, and with six hundred and sixty-six Seals, only sixty-six of which actually needing to be broken, the Archangels felt it best to direct you to try and save a handful of simple Seals so that you would miss the demons and other angels breaking others elsewhere. The First Seal, you already know. The Final Seal is the death of the First Demon in a desecrated convent in Ilchester."
"The death of the First Demon meaning Lilith," Sam whispered in horror. "Oh, God... Lilith would've led us a merry chase until letting us catch up just in time to kill her and break the Seal...."
"Let you catch up, Sam," Castiel corrected with surprising gentleness. "Two brothers, two immutable Seals... two prophecied Vessels for the Apocalypse. While you would have been led to Lilith, Dean would have been sequestered away to await the appointed time to agree to be Michael's Vessel--"
"Leaving me alone and in position to be taken as Lucifer's after Lilith tricked me into letting him out," Sam finished woodenly.
"Like hell're those dickless asshats getting anywhere near me, or Sammy!" Dean growled, finding his voice and trying not to feel that stab of guilt at the surprise that crossed Sam's face at his vehemence. "So how do we derail things?"
"I don't know," Castiel admitted, spreading his hands in supplication when Dean glared at him. "Truly, I don't. Angels are created to serve and follow orders, and free thought and feeling is considered an aberration. Even with these defects, I am not suited to creative thinking the way humans are. The best idea I could think of was to give you two all the information and hope you could think of an option I couldn't."
Silence reigned for a long moment as Dean processed that while Sam stared off into the distant space between molecules or whatever it was he was looking at when he did that. The only sound besides his and Sam's breathing was the low roar of the ring of fire that was apparently important enough to Castiel to have burning that he would say not to distupt it even though it looked like he could barely move.
"What happens if they can't take us?" Sam asked after a long moment. "Michael and Lucifer. They're Archangels, and Lucifer is Fallen, but they're still angels. They have to get our permission first. So what happens if we say no?"
"I don't know," Castiel admitted. "That is not something anyone in Heaven or Hell believes will happen, as neither will care overly much how they gain your consent so long as they do gain it. I suspect that Michael might become impatient enough to raise your half-brother Adam for the purpose as an imperfect back-up, but you have no such half-siblings by your mother for Lucifer to take."
"So it's just me that needs to be taken out of play," Sam murmured, sending a chill down Dean's spine.
"Sammy," he said warningly.
"You know it's true, Dean," Sam said, sounding so fucking young and weary all at once. "Michael's got a back-up if he can't force you to agree, but I'm Lucifer's only option. If we can take me out before Lilith is ready to make her move--"
"Then the Archangels would simply resurrect you after wiping this conversation from your memory," Castiel broke in sharply. "Sam, I implore you, do not be so quick to give up your life on a slim hope!"
"What he said," Dean huffed grudgingly. "I went to Hell once to keep you alive, little brother, don't think I won't do it again!"
"Don't think I'll let you," Sam snapped back. "And I'm not talking about me dying. Not exactly. But I may have an idea. I just don't know how much Castiel is gonna like it, and I know you aren't gonna like it. At least I know I'll be able to stomach the taste."
"I don't have to like it if it keeps you alive and out of the Devil's clutches," Dean said, staring his brother down. "I learned a long time ago that the only order of Dad's I can't follow is to let you die. Ever. So lay it on me."
"It's risky," Sam warned. "And kinda crazy."
"Crazy's kinda what we do these days," Dean pointed out with a sweeping gesture towards the sigil-marked walls, trapped angel, and the entire damn Apocalypse mess beyond.
"Okay, then," Sam nodded slowly. "Do you still have Lenore's number?"

𝕽𝖆𝖎𝖘𝖊𝖉 𝖎𝖓 𝕭𝖑𝖔𝖔𝖉 (𝔭𝔱.4)
(Dean Winchester x Reader)
(masterlist)
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: After Sam and Dean have finally found you, they ask for your help to find Metatron so Dean will be able to defeat him. But how will something as simple as being around another holder of the mark effectively both you and Dean? Will it even effect either of you at all? Come to find out, angels are killing themselves in Castiel's name.
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Seasons nine and ten spoilers so please be warned. Primarily (but not accurately) based on Season 9 Episode 22 : Stairway to Heaven. The episode will float into part 5. Torture, violence, death, mentions of suicide, may not be suitable for all audiences.
Previously…
The burning in your arm was different. And it was more intense than what you’ve ever felt before. You knew you didn’t feel it with your father because that was a mere vision but this? This was real. He was coming.
Dean Winchester was there.
Then your gaze landed on the slightly shorter hunter and you knew he just had to be Dean. He had they eyes of a killer and you could see it now. You saw why he was worthy to bare the mark. He had already seen and done so much and you were sure of it.
The mark on Dean’s arm burned to such an intensity, he knew that there was sort of connection between the two of them. He looked at his brother Sam who was trying to fake the fact that he didn’t know what this girl was talking about. If this was about the Mark of Cain, he knew that he and Sam needed to have a talk. A serious one at that.
Somehow, Sam was the one that convinced you to join them and meet their angel friend, Castiel. Never in the centuries you've been alive have you ever thought that you'd meet an angel. But then again you've heard of their fall and to you they didn't seem to be as big of a threat as they used to be.
You couldn't help but feel a little awkward though while you sat in the back of Dean's car. You could tell that there was some kind of tension between the two brothers. It's not like you knew what it was.
You wondered how the Hell you were supposed to get to know these people. And why did they think you could help with anything? Why would they think that you would even want to help?
You remembered your father's words, remembering that he said to go along with these brothers. You had heard of two brothers saving the world, and a part of you wondered how they could manage that if they got tense like this.
Taking in a deep breath, you began to speak.
"So... what exactly is this Castiel is wanting to know?" You asked.
"Well, you see, Y/N.. Castiel and the both of us have been searching for Metatron. And he mentioned to me that someone like you could be of some help. Hopefully.” Sam told you
“Plus, there was a report of an angel missing. We don’t know if it was one of Castiel’s angels or Metatron’s. We think the vessel could have been possessed by a demon, overpowering the angel, when he came to look for you.” He continued and you remembered the very first demon that came to your tattoo parlor.
"I can confirm there was a demon there. The angel seemed to be long gone though. And the vessel... it perished with the demon." You confessed.
"You think the angel found a new vessel before goin' back to Cass?" Sam asked his brother, as if he was hoping for some kind of dialogue. But the older brother let out some kind of grunt, as if he had something a little different on his mind.
"Maybe. Still don't know why demons would get involved with this whole thing." Dean said, gaze never leaving the road ahead of them.
You subconsciously placed a hand over your mark, knowing damned well why that demon came. But you didn't think it would really be worth mentioning. Cain didn't have anything to do with Metatron, neither do you. And you don't care what Crowley was looking for you for.
"Back to the Metatron thing... how exactly are you thinking of handling him? He's not an ordinary angel you know." You said, changing the topic a little. Anything would beat the silence among you and these two practical strangers.
"The First Blade."
Those three words flowed from Dean so effortlessly. Hearing him even talk about the powerful weapon almost put you in a trance. You had heard of all of it's corrupted and bloody splendor. But you yourself had never been able to use is. Your father wielded it for years before he parted from it. Who knew where it was.
"How are you supposed to get your hands on it? No one knows where it is and you'd have to have a specific tracking spe-"
"One step ahead of you. We've already got he blade and-" Sam began.
"Not for much longer..." Dean interrupted.
"Well... We may have to entrust it to Crowley again for the time being until we can locate Metatron."
You looked at Sam before looking at Dean. It was gradually coming together. The blade and his mark, is that what the two are tense about right now?
You shifted your gaze to the window and watched as all the trees seemed to zoom by while Dean drove.
"It's a safe precaution whether you like it or not, Dean." You managed to speak.
"Yeah and what the Hell do you know about precautions with that thing? We know you've never used it so what do you know about what it's like?" Dean asked and you rolled your eyes and started to glare at the hunter.
"I knew it was in the bottom of the deepest ocean. I spied on Cain the night that it happened. When he left, I went to the bottom of that ocean and retrieved it. I had my share of killing with it and trust me, its more intense for demons than it could ever be for a mortal like you. I know exactly what the high is like. I know the great urge it gives you because I've used it on many before going into hiding. Demons looked for me when I left Hell. And there was a reason they didn't know where I was for so long." You said as the car came to a stop. Apparently they were wherever this angel's base was.
Then you saw Dean look at you in the rearview mirror and you spoke again.
"Just because you're the legendary Dean Winchester, just because you have that mark, because my father thought you were worthy of the mark, and just because you think you're a strong enough hunter, does not mean you are above precaution."
"That blade is like the worst kind of poison but the best kind of drug. And if you want to hold on to your own humanity, to hold on to your brother, you'd thank him to give that blade to Crowley, even if he is the scum of the earth." You said as you got out of the car and nearly slammed the door behind you.
Sam and Dean were both rendered a little speechless. Neither of them were initially sure of what to say when they watched you get out of the car. Then Sam looked at Dean with a brow arched.
"What did she mean when she mentioned Cain seeing something in you?" Sam asked and Dean shook his head, not really wanting to get into it with him.
"I can't believe you and Cass knew about her. What is this supposed to be? Some kind of intervention? I swear it's always something with you and this damned thing when you know I'm right and we need the blade." Dean said only for Sam to scoff.
The two brothers got out of the car and they lead you into Cass's base. Once they did, Dean saw Castiel making his way over.
"Good, you're here. There's been a complication." Castiel spoke in his typical monotonous tone.
Dean's brows narrowed and the three of you followed the angel before they were in the part of his quarters where the other angels were working on their computers, soundboards and other devices.
All of the angels looked at the four of you. Although you felt singled out because you were the only demon amongst angels. Castiel reassured them you were there to help. You were sure they had questions but it's not like they asked. Not yet anyway.
"You guys are going to want to see this." One of the other angels said and Castiel, Sam, and Dean all went to the angel's computer and looked on the screen.
What the three of them saw was an angel in a trench coat going into an ice cream parlor. He tore open the coat to reveal some sort of carving in his chest and the angel shouted "I do this for Castiel!"
The next thing they saw, the angel used a blade on himself, a little girl screamed and everyone in that parlor was killed. Six humans were killed in the crossfire.
Dean's jaw clenched when he watched everything. He knew this was bad. His gut was telling him that there was no way Castiel could orchestrate something like this. But he looked over at the trench coat wearing angel and put his hands in his pockets.
"What the Hell did you do? What the Hell was that?" Dean asked sternly. "Did you know anything about this?"
"No, of course I didn't. I would never ask one of my own to kill innocents." Castiel assured and looked at the screen again at the symbol. Meanwhile Dean looked skeptical. This wouldn't be the first time the angel has lied to his face.
"Cass, why would an angel blow up an ice cream shop in your name?" Sam asked, confused but a part of him wanted to believe Castiel. He just wanted to get to the bottom of this whole thing.
"Wait a moment, there was an angel there. Esther." Hannah, one of Castiel's angels began. "She's one of Metatron's."
"Oh so this really was a hit?" Dean asked and crossed his arms.
"Dean you can't honestly believe I did something like this."
"Look I know you have good intentions, I do. You try. But this whole thing is more like a cult! But the last time you tried to be a leader you killed both angels and humans! It didn't matter to you and you lied about it!" Dean said.
"Guys, let's take this somewhere else." Sam said.
You watched the three of them go up to Castiel's office. You weren't sure if you were to follow them or not so you stayed. You wanted to gather at least some kind of information about this operation.
After all you had basically lived under a rock so to speak and all you had to go on was what your father told you in that vision.
"So what are you really doing here, Demon? Is Crowley trying to corrupt this operation?" An angel asked.
You looked at one of them and lifted a brow.
"It isn't any business of yours whether I even work with Crowley or not. I don't care if he's the King of Hell, I don't care if Metatron wins or loses. I don't even care about this little cult type thing you have going on. The Winchesters swooped me up and said I could be useful for something and I'm just along for the ride." You said.
"Yeah. Likely story coming from a liar." another backtalking angel spoke and stood up.
You didn't know if he was trying to start a fight but you rolled up your sleeves and got prepared.
Hannah was the first one that noticed your mark and she delicately placed a hand on you. "If Castiel says you are here to help, he is to be believed." then she looked at the angel causing a problem.
"Have a seat and see if you can track down the angel that's missing. Castiel will want a report on Josiah to know he is unharmed. We know he was going to Colorado so find out why he was going there. There's something suspicious going on and we need to be prepared for whatever Castiel orders us to do next." Hannah advised and he did as he was told.
Then Hannah looked at you. You saw some sort of softness in her eyes despite the obvious skepticism you couldn't blame her for.
"I don't know why Castiel insisted you help us. Or why the Winchesters insisted you join them. But we really don't mean any harm. We simply want to go home. when this is all over." She told you.
You looked at her with confusion. Why was she believing you? In all honesty you didn't think you could even help with this matter. You really did feel like you were along for the ride and just wanting to know why Sam and Dean came to your parlor. Unless the boys weren't telling you everything yet.
Dean still didn't like the idea of any of this. They still had an angelic civil war going on in the sidelines. Cass shouldn't be leading especially after what happened the last time he tried to rebel. So many died in the crossfire all for "good intentions" that fell through.
"Look, guys. All we need to focus on right now is that there's a case and we need to work it. So, Cass. Did you know the angel in the video?" Sam asked, trying to be a mediator before a new hell broke loose and they'd never get anything done.
"Yes, his name was Oren. He was a new recruit. He worked at a community out reach. The angels in my charge are typically in hospitals helping where they can through minor miracles. Nothing to draw attention." Castiel explained.
"Yeah well this is a hell of a way to help the community." Dean muttered and Sam rolled his eyes.
"What do you know about the markings on his chest?" Sam said, trying his best to stay on track.
Castiel glared at Dean for the comment and knew he was going to be stubborn for a while and he looked back at Sam, "Enochian Runes. I think they must've been for focusing energy. When he stabbed himself, it resulted in the unleashing of that power."
"So if Esther was the target, what happened to her?" Sam asked.
"If she was the primary target, then if the energy was that intense then she would be atomized and reduced to nothing." Castiel said. Then there was some sort of silence.
"So what is our next step? What should we do?"
"Well you're not to do anything. We need to do some investigating and if the other angels think that you're really behind all this, they won't do any talking if you're around." Dean said sternly.
"You cannot expect me to sit here and do nothing. If you do not want my help or assistance I will go and search for Josiah. His trail was going to Colorado so that is where I will look. I have to do something."
"Alright, you know what? Fine. But Sam is going with you." Dean said and both Sam and Castiel looked.
"Because you don't trust me?"
"No, he'll be there to help."
The night came and Sam drove Castiel's vehicle to go to Colorado. Now was a good a time as any to fill Castiel in.
"Abaddon is dead. And then some. Dean really took it too far and I'm glad we followed up on that rumor. She's more than a rumor now. Maybe she can convince Dean to ease up on everything." Sam said.
"Have the effects worsened after you found her?" Castiel asked, knowing the effects of the mark were already bad for Dean. Of course he was always angry and on edge, but intensified tenfold.
"Oddly enough, it hasn't gotten worse. But we haven't given it much time to see if it will help or harm Dean any further. Although they did have a bit of a fight and it's clear Y/N knows a few things about what Dean is going through. Maybe he can learn some things from her."
"What did they fight about?"
"Well I can't really say fight, more of Dean saying something he shouldn't have and Y/N giving him an earful before we went into your little compound. She said that the blade is like the worst poison but the best drug. She said she's used it before and used them on some of the demons that tried to follow her and take her back to Hell. I assumed sometime after that before she went into hiding she tossed it back to wherever Crowley found it." Sam explained.
"She said it was more intense for her as a demon than it could ever be for Dean since he was human. And... and that he should listen to me if he wants to hold on to his humanity."
"Hold on to his humanity.. You don't think she's referring to what happened to her father do you?" Castiel inquired.
"I don't know. Maybe. I just hope he won't get to that point. She made the suggestion we give the blade to Crowley. But I partially agree with Dean. We need it to kill Metatron. Crowley is next on the list anyways. But if Dean can just agree to leaving the blade behind and using it only for emergencies, for the big boss fights, that would be great and it would be one of the bigger steps he would need to take."
"But it's hard to get him to agree to it?"
"Cass, we've been arguing about that blade too many times. It's honestly so tiring and he doesn't want to listen. He's so set on taking it everywhere..."
"What if you gave it to Y/N? For safe keeping?"
"Do you really think we should take a risk like that? She went into hiding to stay out of the demons way because of Abaddon. Now that her mother's dead, giving that blade to her may be just as bad of a mistake as Dean even accepting the mark."
"She would have a better handle of the effects. She used the blade and she was the one that chose to throw it back where she found it. She did it willingly, without having a sibling to argue with her about it."
Sam stayed silent for a few moments, honestly considering the angel's words. He knew Dean wanted to be the one that killed Metatron. And honestly, you didn't seem like you cared enough to kill Metatron so that wouldn't be an issue. It would be a matter of convincing Dean to let you have it for a while.
"You know.. it might work. I don't know how Dean will handle it but maybe while she has it in a safe place, she can teach Dean how to cope with the effects before he changes forever." Sam said.
"I wish you luck.. with Dean, I know you're going to need it."
Dean stayed behind in Cass' quarters to... interrogate... some angels that Cass said worked in the hospital to see if he can get any leads on Oren.
He sat down at a table across from an angel so they could talk.
"He was a joy to be around. He was bright."
"Yeah, lovely. But why would he light up his own fuse with that explosive personality you liked so much." Dean said, clearly unamused.
"You think this is funny? I don't have any information. So if you could just let me go, I have lives to save. Unlike you." The angel said and Dean's hands turned into a fist in his lap.
"And what's that supposed to mean, exactly?"
"You think you save people but you do more harm than good. I clear up a clogged artery here and there, remove some blood clots. But you? It's like the only way to solve a problem is with a gun or knife. You pretend to do good but you're nothing but a killer and you know it." the angel said.
"Your soul will be forever stained with red and I hate men like you."
That was it for Dean. He had it up to this point and flipped the table on its side. He lunged at the angel in her chair and tossed her back against the floor.
He pulled an angel blade out and held it against her neck and glared, the light no longer shining in his eyes and he was doing everything he could not to slice her throat but he knew he needed her alive.
"Honey, there ain't no other men like me."
With the threat of her life on the line, the angel revealed the name Constantine. He was one of Oren's supposed friends. Then there was the name Tessa. The same Tessa that Dean recognized. The one that's come after his soul once or twice. What would she have anything to do with this?
He let go of her and the angel got up and left the room. But not before giving Dean a disgusted look.
Oh what Dean would have given to stab her then and there but he knew that if he did he would never hear the end of it from Sam.
But then his mind floated back to what you said that day.
What if you were right about the blade? Unfortunately he had lied to Sam about taking it along for this hunt. He never knew when they would need it and Dean didn't want to have a need for it on a hunt one day only for it to be back at the Bunker.
He couldn't be without that blade and while you may have been right about the effects, he knew you would agree about the sort of calm that it gives you when you simply hold it. It's like a relief to what you're feeling because of that curse.
But another thing that was puzzling to him was despite the obvious tension in the car between him and his brother, having you there was another kind of calm, similar to what the First Blade gave even when the burning was more intense in your first encounter.
Speaking of the devil, you walked into the room.
On your way down the hall you saw an angel rushing to get as far away from Dean as possible. All you wanted to do was find out how the discussion went and from the looks of it, it didn't go very well.
When you were in the room, you saw Dean pinching the bridge of his nose and his brows were narrowed. You saw a table flipped on its side and a chair tossed down with Dean standing beside it.
You presumed he sensed your presence because he let his hand down and looked at you.
"What? Are you here to tell me I went too far or something?" He asked and you knew he was frustrated. You didn't know the amount of what he had on his plate.
"The opposite, actually. I half expected to find you standing over a dead body and the angel with a knife in her neck." You said bluntly and Dean rolled his eyes.
You sighed and you walked over to him.
"Look, I know we didn't start on the right foot. Especially with your little comment about the first blade earlier. I don't know who's idea it was to look for me. Frankly I don't care who you kill or don't kill. I'm still lost as to why people think I can help with anything but I really can't. I'm just a demon parading as a tattoo artist." You began.
"But from what I can see, you have a brother who cares about you. He doesn't want you to go down the path Cain did. It's ugly, it's black, it's bloody and he doesn't want to see you turn into something he can't recognize." You said and crossed your arms.
Dean lowered his head and looked down at the angel blade in his hands. Of course he knew Sam had good intentions. Cass always has good intentions. Hell, Dean even has good intentions. But they say the way to Hell is paved with good intentions.
"It's not like there's anything that can be done about the mark. I have it, I'm stuck with it. Might as well use it for whatever good I can before I start weighing people down with it." Dean spoke. This was probably the most he's been open about this sort of thing.
All he ever really tells Sam is that he's fine. He's fantastic. He can't really be honest with his own brother about it because he could never understand what he's going through.
"How bad is it?" You asked.
"What?"
"How bad is the mark effecting you? Really?"
"Don't you think we can talk about this a little later? We have a reaper to find and I need to tell Sam what's going on."
You shouldn't be surprised. And honestly from what you saw that day, you weren't surprised that he would shut you down that fast. You were still a practical stranger, but you knew he wasn't above working with demons if he went with Crowley to find Cain in the first place.
"Oh stop trying to be one of those stoic pinheads that hold their traumatic shit in all the damn time and take their problems out on everyone. Cain's who knows where, Crowley doesn't know what you're going through and Sam could never even begin to fathom the weight of everything." You said.
"We're on a car ride for barely a day and we've known each other for a matter of hours and you think you know what's going on with me? Get over yourself. We have a job to do." Dean said and tried to walk away.
You rolled your eyes and waved your hand and pinned Dean against the wall. You knew Dean was strong as he tried to resist but your grip was firm as you walked over.
"You don't want to open up to me, fine. Don't. But don't ignore me or brush me off." You said before slowly releasing your grip so he could stand on his own.
You took his arm, ignoring his protests, and you rolled up his sleeve to reveal his mark. You barely let our thumb graze over it, Dean didn't move. Instead, you could feel him get a little less tense.
"I don't know exactly why Sam wanted you to come along. But if he expect you to talk me into slowing down he really needs to understand that I'm fine. Everyone's got their shit they need to handle and this is mine." Dean told you in a less argumentative tone.
"Then you really need to start asking yourself how far you're willing to go. How many people are you willing to lose? How many loved ones will you leave behind because you won't accept the help. This mark? It's not a gift, Dean. It's a curse. And you have no idea what you've gotten yourself into." You said and looked up at him.
"Just something to think about. Now let's go find your little reaper."
Dean watched you walk out of the room and that pain in his arm came back. He didn't flinch since he was used to it, but the fact that it actually subsided for a while baffled him.
He started thinking about what you said. He still didn't like the fact that Sam would go behind his back like this just to get someone like you to talk to him. But all of this talk of a curse coming from a demon, maybe Dean should put things into perspective just a little more. As much as Sam was a pain in the ass, he still didn't want to lose the only family he had left.
Thank you guys for reading! I didn't want this to be too long of a chapter but you can expect part 5 to be released soon and it will have this episode as part of its continuation! Thank you to all of you who have been giving me feedback, it really is much appreciated. I'm so glad you all have come this far with this story with me and I'm excited to see where it goes! Feel free to give me your hypothesis on what could happen next between the reader and the Winchesters!

What if... (supernatural)
(I was listening to Friends on the Other Side by Keith David, btw(Just saying: this is also based off of my supernatural character a little bit only the appearance tho(sorry that it's so long and if there are any grammatical errors just comment the correct word(s) please, english is not my first language)))
So, what if there was like a gambling/betting demon in season 16 (I'm not sure if it has or hasn't been confirmed yet so bear with me) so in the earlier seasons it's shown that they got there money by betting on things to get there money.
So, they don't need lots of money anymore (I think) because they live(d) in the bunker, what if Dean wanted to gamble/ bet on something again (or they were on a hunt and had to go somewhere to get information) but didn't know/ hadn't been told that there was a gambling/betting demon.
He sits down at the table he finds most interesting and starts to play, after a while (two to three rounds) he had gotten a bit of money and lost a little bit (way) more (since it's Dean) when a(n) (unusual) player joins his party (the person they needed if on hunt (the gambling/betting demon)) and started to play with him.
He keeps playing but realizes something about this mistery person and starts focussing on their (preferably a dude that looks like he's in his late 30s/early 40s, and like Kurt (Hummel is his last name in glee, if you want to find a picture of him or something) gay) face to guess if their bluffing or not, but fails to do so.
Then after a while the person starts opening up a little bit more he finds out their name and what they do here and how many times they visit(ed) this place and then he lets something slip that's a hint for people to try and figure out who they are.
If he's there for information on a case/hunt:
when it cuts back to Dean (after it went to Sam/Jack/Castiel(who's been saved from The Empty) who knows maybe all of them) Dean realizes it and when he starts to point a finger at them the person(demon) stands up and walks away from the table before the next round begins. Dean stands up and follows them two seconds after since he's still getting his brain together and pins him to the wall when they're outside. Then he proceeds to get his 'special' knife out and holds it at the demon's throat and starts questioning them.(let me know if i need to finsish this one, 'cause I'm not having the best thinking processes right now)
If he's gambling/ betting on things for fun(since he misses it a little):
when it cuts back to Dean, (after it went to Sam/Jack/Castiel(who's been saved from The Empty) who knows maybe all of them) he's still in the blind of what this person is and theey smirk a little before getting good cards and switches them (with his powers) with Dean's shitty ones before going all in and flopping at the last moment to make sure Dean wins(since he means no harm and has been thrown out of Hell since forever) and smiles a little before winking at Dean (who looks like a kid on Christmas morning) before winking and standing up to say good game. Before they leave the person straightens his clothes and flashes his eyes black for a quick second before leaving just to show Dean (since he knows who he is) that he meant no harm.
(Let me no if I should finish these since it was just a small 'What if..")
Have a nice day!

Hiya! I think this will be a short one but let's see. This is a fic prompt for an au, let's get into it, Readers!
Sense8 AUs
This is a TV show I binged in two days and I absolutely loved it... I would even more if there were less nudity and sex scenes. So, FAIR WARNING if you want to try it out.
There are some Sense8 AUs on AO3 but none I've really wanted to read. But I'm probably going to try some out anyway bc I looove this concept.
So, some things you'll need are:
To watch the show lol, it's great and really gay. So, it's a good watch for pride! It's on N*tflix. It's only two seasons since it got cancelled 😭
Anywho, some lore from the show is that eight people from around the world are psychically and empathically linked. Kinda like a soul bond AU. (EDIT: their ability and link is called a sensorial link. There's more info about it on superpowerwiki)
They all need to be the same age, so if you're doing a crossover make sure they are.
For example, Buffy The Vampire Slayer goes from 16-22 in her show and Steve Harrington (Stranger Things) goes from 17-19. So, you could use these two.
It's not required but a variety of locations is preferred and I think would be more interesting. Like Buffy is in California and Steve is in Indiana. But also like Nakajima Atsushi (BSD) is in Japan while they reside in america. Y'know, what I mean??
I also understand if most of the things you watch are located in the country you live in. One solution for this is using headcanons. Like, a popular headcanon is that Sero Hanta (MHA) is at least half Hispanic. So, he could reside in a different country of those origins. Or Aoyama Yuuga (MHA) acts like he's French (not confirmed I don't think) so there you go lol
Since it's fanfiction you can just make them all have the same birthday. Maybe you can even find characters the same age with the same birthday?? Kinda like how Shirakumo Oboro (MHA) and Atsushi were both born on May 5th. They are close in age, I'm sure aging Shirakumo up a year or Atsushi down a year would be fine.
They don't need anybody hunting them like in the show but I think that instantly gives you a plot.
Polyamory representation is not needed but I love to see it! Also QPR representation would be appreciated as well! Just like how both are in Sense8!
Also with crossovers, you'll have to decide which world your story is in. Like, are Buffy, Steve, and Atsushi in the 90s fighting vampires and demons from Hell? Or are they fighting monsters from another universe in the 80s? Or are they fighting people with superpowers like they themselves might have in a more recent year? OR all the above just in the same time period? Alternatively, you can set it in like the Sense8 world where the world is mostly normal but sensates exist in secret (sensates are what the psychically linked people are called lmao).
I think that is all, lmk if you think anything should be added!
Some Character Ideas You Can Pick From
You will have to do the world-building and creating on your own tho, you can do it!
OMFG Scooby-Doo! I don't think Scooby himself would be a part of it tho lmao. Also that's only four people. So, idk add OCs, the older teen Stranger Things cast, or the Buffy cast??
17: Robin Buckley (Stranger Things, america), Willow Rosenberg (BTVS, america), Harry Potter (the UK), Young Aizawa Shouta (MHA, Japan), Akutagawa Gin (BSD, Japan), Donna Troy (DC, Greece?), Isaac Lahey (Teen Wolf, France), and Young Sam Winchester (SPN, america)
20?: Yamada Hizashi (MHA, Japan), Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds, america), Dean Winchester (SPN, america), Natasha Romanoff (Marvel, Russia), T'Challa (Marvel, Africa), Marlene McKinnon (Marauders Era, the UK), Higuchi Ichiyou (BSD, Japan), and Sherlock Holmes (BBC, the UK).
Around 200?: James 'Logan' Howlett (Marvel), Stefan Salvatore (TVD), Marcel Gerard (Originals), Aang (ATLA), Rowena MacLeod (SPN), Cole Turner (Charmed), Steve Rogers (Marvel), Raven Darkhölme (Marvel)
Now, I'm just going to suggest different fandoms bc that was a lot of hard work lmao
Supernatural: Charlie Bradbury, Garth Fitzgerald IV, Kevin Tran, etc
Teen Wolf: Stiles Stilinski, Scott McCall, Lydia Martin, Bobby Finstock, Derek Hale, etc
MHA: all the pros like Mirko/Rumi Usagiyama and all the students like Hatsume Mei
Demon Slayer/KNY: Kamado Tanjiro, Tomioka Giyu, Uzui Tengen, etc
DC: the Batfam, the Superfam, Teen Titans, Justice League, Selina Kyle, Talia Al Ghul, etc
Marvel/MCU: Avengers, Shang-Chi, Shuri, MJ, Yelena Belova, Rogue, Gambit, etc
I hope this all made sense!

𝙽𝚘 𝚁𝚎𝚜𝚝 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚆𝚒𝚌𝚔𝚎𝚍 (𝙿𝚝 𝟷)
Y/N is running frantically through the woods, fleeing from...something. Suddenly she stops, confronted with the beast that has cut in front of her...a hellhound. She stands for a few beats, looking at it before she suddenly turns on her heel and runs back the way she came from, the hellhound on her trail. And not before long, it manages to trip her, and gets her down on the ground and begins to attack her, screaming while blood splatters over her face.
Y/N shoots up from her sleeping position on the table, breathing heavily from the terror of her dream. She blinks a few times then looks down at the book she had fallen asleep on. It's open to a page about the hellhounds.
"Dig up anything good?" Sam asks, walking in.
"No," Y/N says, closing the book and shaking her head a bit, not looking up at him. She clears her throat. "Nothing good."
"Well, Bobby had," Dean says, walking in with a beer in hand. "Finally." He takes a drink.
"Yeah?" Y/N asks.
"Yeah," Sam says, smiling. "A way to find Lilith."
"Oh. With just uh-" Y/N looks at her watch "-thirty hours to go." She smiles. "Hey, why don't we just make a TJ-run, yeah? You know...some senoritas, cerezas, uh, we could...What's Spanish for 'donkey show'?" She asks, tilting her head. Sam and Dean snicker.
"So, if we do save you...Let's never do that," Dean says.
"Never," Sam adds.
"Yeah..." She looks down at the book as Sam and Dean stand beside her.
"Hey, Y/N," Sam sighs. "Look, we're cutting it close, I know. But we're gonna get this done. I don't care what it takes, Dean. You're not gonna go to hell. We're not gonna let you." Y/N looks over at them.
"We swear. Everything's gonna be okay," Dean says. Y/N's facial expression changes as she looks at her brothers, her face looking scared...no terrified as their faces distort and their heads fling to the sides at a rapid pace before going back to normal.
"Yeah, okay," Y/N says, frowning.
==
Later Dean, Y/N, Sam, and Bobby stand around a map of the United States. Bobby places an old tracking device over it. The device is being held up by three wooden ‘legs’ that are then connected to a glass ball at the top. A pendulum with a point at the end hangs in the middle of the whole thing so that it can pinpoint a specific place.
"So, you need a name, that's the whole kid and caboodle," Bobby says. "With the right name, right ritual, ain't nothing you can't suss out."
"Like the town Lilith's in?" Sam asks.
"Kid, when I get done, we'll know the street," Bobby begins the ritual by swinging the pendulum in a circle and then chants in Latin. As Y/N, Dean, and Sam watch, the pendulum begins to search over the map until it suddenly stops. "Hey, Harmony, Indiana." Y/N looks up at him from the map. "And we have a winner."
"Alright," Sam says, pushing the pendulum away and looking at Bobby. "Let's go."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on," the three boys look at her. "Let's all shut up there, Tex," Y/N says, uncrossing her arms.
"What's the problem?" Dean asks.
"What's the problem?" Y/N questions, sarcastically. "Come on, where do I begin? I mean, first of all, we don't even know if Lilith holds my deal. We're going off of Bela's intel? Now when that bitch breathes, the air comes out crooked. Okay. Second, even if we could get to Lilith, we have no way to gank her." Y/N looks to Sam. "And third, isn't this the same Lilith that wants your giant head on a pike? Should I continue?" Bobby scoffs.
"Ain't you just bringing down the room," he says.
"Yeah, well, it's a gift."
"I'm sorry," Sam says, sarcastically. "So, then what are we supposed to do, Y/N?"
"Just 'cause I gotta die doesn't mean you have to, okay. Either we go in smart or we don't go in at all."
"Okay, fine. If that's the case, I have the answer."
"You do?" Y/N and Dean say in unison.
"Yeah. A sure-fire way to confirm it's Lilith and a way to get us a bona fide demon-killing ginsu." Y/N shakes her head, realizing.
"Damn it, Sam, no," Y/N says turning her back to Sam and Dean, walking a few steps.
"We're so past arguing. Y/N, I am summoning Ruby," Y/N turns around, facing them.
"The hell you are! We have enough problems as it is."
"Exactly," Sam says, walking up to her. "And we've got no time and no choice either."
"Come on man, she is the Miss Universe of lying skanks, okay," Y/N says. "She told you that she could save me, huh - lie. She seems to know everything about Lilith but forgot to mention, oh right - Lilith owns my soul!" She snaps.
"Okay, fine. She's a liar. She's still got that knife," Dean says.
"Y/N," Bobby says, but his call gets drowned out by the arguing.
"Then give us another option, Y/N. I mean, tell us what else," Sam says.
"Sam and Dean are right," Bobby says.
"NO! DAMN IT!" Y/N shouts. Bobby looks at her, surprised. They all look at each other for a few seconds before Y/N sighs, calming down. "Just no. We are not gonna make the same mistakes all over again." They look at her, shocked. "You guys wanna save me, find something else." Sam, Dean, and Bobby look at her as she walks back to the table she was sitting at before, and sits down with a contemplative look. As the brothers look at her, sighing, Bobby grabs his jacket.
"Where are you going, Bobby?" Dean asks, not turning away from Y/N.
"I guess to..." Bobby throws out his arms. "find something else." Bobby then walks away and leaves the cabin. Sam sighs, looking into space while Dean just looks at Y/N, frowning.
==
Sam is on his knees and has drawn a triangle on the floor with symbols at every point and put candles outside each point. In the middle is a circle with a bowl of a green, dry substance in it. Dean stands beside him, looking down at the summoning.
"Are we sure we should be doing this, Sam?" Dean asks. "I mean, Y/N's right, we can't trust Ruby. If anything, she'll make it worse for us."
"It's the only choice we have, Dean," Sam says, kneeling in front of the triangle. "Y/N is going to hell in less than a day. We don't have time to find something else." Dean sighs and looks at the triangle, nodding. Sam then sighs and begins his spell.
"Ad construgendum ad ligandum eos pariter Et solvendum," a creak is heard behind the two, and they turn to see no one. They turn back, sighing as Sam looks up at the roof while Dean keeps looking down at the candles. "Et ad congregantum eos coram me." Dean takes up a box of matches and strikes one. He watches the flame for a beat and then throws the match into the bowl. The two watch the content ignites and fire flares up and then it calms down and burns out. Sam gets up off the floor, and they slowly turn to look behind them as the floor creaks again, but there's still nothing.
"You know, phones work too," a voice says. The brothers turn back and see Ruby leaning against the doorway. She smiles at them. "Hey, boys. How's tricks?" She asks. The two don't look happy to see her; instead, they look angry.
"How do you get around so fast?" Dean asks, angrily.
"I got the Super Bowl yet pack," she answers, sarcastically. She begins to walk towards them. "So You called?"
"Did you know?" Sam asks.
"Um--gonna need a tiny bit more."
"About Y/N's deal. That Lilith holds the contract."
"Yes, I did."
"And... what? You didn't think that was important?" Dean asks.
"You weren't ready."
"For what?" Sam and Dean say in unison.
"If I told you, you three yahoos would have just charged after her half-cocked, and Lilith would have peeled the meat from your pretty, pretty faces."
"Well, we're ready now," Sam pauses for a second. "I want your knife." She looks at them for a beat and then begins walking around them slowly.
"You're right about one thing. You are ready. And now's the time, too. Lilith's guard's down."
"Is that so?" Dean asks.
"She's on shore-leave. A little R&R."
"The hell's that mean?" Dean asks.
"Trust me, you don't wanna know. You didn't lose those hex bags I gave you?" Ruby asks.
"We've got 'em," Sam says.
"Good. Then she won't sense that you're coming." They turn around and look at her as she's gotten behind their backs while walking around them.
"So, you'll give us the knife?" Sam asks.
"No."
"But you just said-" Dean is cut off by Ruby.
"You wanna charge in with one little pigsticker?" Ruby asks. "It's a waste of a true-blue window. Like getting Hitler with that exploding briefcase. Forget it."
"Okay, then how?" Sam asks, getting angry.
"I know how to save your sister."
"No, you don't! You told Y/N you couldn't! You've been lying to me all along, so just give me your damn knife!" Sam shouts.
"You're not the one I've been lying to."
"Oh, so you can save her?" Sam says, sarcastically.
"No. But you can," Ruby says, her eyes on Sam.
"What?" Dean asks.
"Sam, you've got some God-given talents. Well, not 'God'-given like your sister's, but you get the gist," Dean looks at her with confusion.
"Like my siste-" Dean is then cut off by Sam.
"All that psychic crap?" Sam asks, scoffing. "That's gone ever since Yellow-Eyes died." Ruby shakes her head.
"Not gone, dormant. And not just visions either. Why do you think Lilith is so scared of you?"
"Right...she's scared of me," Sam says, sarcastically.
"Well, not as much as she is of Y/N. Anyway, look, if you wanted, you could wipe her off the map without moving a muscle."
"Why is she more scared of Y/N than Sam?" Dean asks.
"You already know the answer to th--"
"No, we don't, so enlighten us," Sam says.
"Come on, guys," Ruby says. "Don't you remember way back when Y/N was kidnapped with Dean by your good old friend Gordon?"
"Yeah, but why would that make someone afraid of her?" Dean asks.
"She was shot, wasn't she?"
"No, she sai-" Sam begins but Ruby cuts him off.
"She said it didn't even hit her, that she was 'lucky,' even though there was blood both on the ground where she was shot, and around the ripped hole" (Hunted Pt 4).
"Yes, but there was no wound, nothing to show that she was even hit," Sam says.
"Exactly."
"So, what, she healed fast?" Dean says.
"No one heals that quick, Dean. And that's only one of the times she's healed quick. The same happened when she had been shot at the bank, remember? Right in the leg. And not even a day later she was back on her feet, no pain or anything. Or what about that Andy guy, she was never controlled by him was she. Do you want me to go on?"
"Y/N isn't like you, she doesn't get visions, or have weird mojo witch powers" Dean says, crossing his arms.
"Because she's not like me, nor is she a witch. She's something stronger than me"
"I don't believe you" Sam says.
"Yeah, me neither" Dean adds.
"It's the truth"
"And you decided to tell me this just now?"
"Um... demon. Manipulative's kinda in the job description. Fact is, is that you would have never considered it. Not until you were -"
"Desperate enough?" Sam says, cutting Ruby off. The three exchange a look, and she shrugs as they look away.
"You don't like being different. You hate the way Dean looks at you sometimes. Like you're some kind of sideshow freak" Dean looks at her, looking offended as she continues "And you hate how Y/N looks at you with pity, as if your just gonna break" Sam looks away from Ruby as Dean turns to look at Sam "But suck it up because we've got a lot of ground to cover, and we've gotta do it fast. But we can do it" Sam clenches his jaw, still looking at the floor. After a beat he and Dean looks up at her "Look. Call me a bitch, hate me all you want, but I have never lied to you, Sam. Not ever. And I'm telling you. You... can save your sister, and I can show you how"
"So that's you, huh?" A voice says from behind Ruby. Ruby turns around to see Y/N with a cold look "Our slutty little Yoda"
"Y/N" Ruby says, looking at her and all her softness in her voice that she directed at Sam is gone "Charming as ever" She says, sarcastically. Y/N begins walking towards the three.
"Aw, I knew you'd show up" Y/N looks up to Sam "Because I knew Sam wouldn't listen" She then looks to Dean "and Dean would probably just tag along, to "try" and stop him" The two brothers look at her but looks away quickly in shame "But you're not gonna teach him anything, you understand me? Over my dead body"
"Oh. Well, you're right about that"
"What you are gonna do is give me that knife. And then you can just go crawl back into whatever slop you came from and never bother me or my brothers again. Are we clear?" Y/N demands.
"Your brother is carrying a bomb inside of him and we'd be stupid not to use it" Ruby says.
"Y/N, look, just hold on for one-"
"Sam!" Y/N says, angrily "Don't. I have done nothing but being patient with you, but now. Come on man, what, are you blind?" Y/N asks. Sam looks back to the floor "Can't you see that this is a trick?"
"That's not true" Y/N looks to Dean.
"Dean?" Y/N says "Come on, I can see it all over you. You've been wanting to kill her the second you laid your eyes on her, now you wanna work with her!?"
"If it means saving you, then I'll bare it" Dean says. Y/N looks back at Sam.
"She wants you to give into this whole demonic psychic whatever, okay. I mean hell, she probably wants you to become her little anti-christ Super Star"
"I want Lilith dead. That's all" Ruby says, angrily.
"Why?" Y/N asks.
"I've told you why!"
"Oh, right, yeah" Y/N mocks "Because you were human once and you liked kittens and long walks on the beach"
"You know, I am so sick of proving myself to you" Ruby shouts, leaning closer to Y/N "You wanna save yourself, this is how. You dumb, spineless bitch"
Y/N looks at her, and then turns around as if to leave but instead comes back swinging her right hook and punching Ruby in the face, looking pissed. Sam and Dean backs away a bit, surprised by the hit. Ruby takes a few steps back with the hit, looks up at her as she wipes blood from her lip and after a beat hits Y/N once with her right fist and then her left. Y/N stumbles back, holding her bleeding nose.
"Ruby, hey!" Sam says.
"Knock it off!" Dean adds.
Ruby goes around, hits them in the back causing them to double over. She then knees Sam in the face, sending him into a beam and sliding to the floor before she then punches Dean in the face, causing him to fall back. As she turns around to Y/N, she hits Ruby in the face once with her left and as she's about to hit with her right Ruby ducks out of the way and going with Y/N's momentum knees her in the stomach. Ruby kicks Y/N in the face causing her to fall to the floor. She tries to get up but Ruby walks over and kicks her hard in the stomach sending her rolling over the floor. She starts to get up and Ruby comes over and takes hold of her, helping her up face to face only to head-butt her so she falls backwards to the floor again. As she stands looking at her, Y/N grins and slowly rises to her feet.
"The hell are you grinning at?" Ruby asks.
"Missing something?" Y/N says, pulling out Ruby's knife in front of her face. Ruby glares at her.
"I'll kill you, you son of a bitch" She rushes towards Y/N but midway there she is stopped by an invisible wall. She tries to walk past it once as Y/N just looks at her. Ruby looks at her and then looks up at the roof where Y/N's painted a Devil's Trap. Sam and Dean also look up at the Devil's trap, surprised. Ruby looks at Y/N again, pissed. Y/N smiles a little, looking at the trap and then she looks at Ruby, still holding up the knife.
"Like I said..." Y/N puts down the knife "I knew you'd come" She walks away from Ruby, towards the staircase. Ruby follows her with her eyes.
"Wait! You're just gonna leave me here?" Y/N stops, waiting for Sam and Dean and ignoring Ruby.
"Let's go, guys" Sam and Dean comes over as Y/N takes a deep breath, blinking hard and then she starts up the steps followed by Sam and Dean.
"Oh, oh you - so you're just too stupid to live, is that it?" Ruby asks, looking at as they walk up the stairs "Then fine! You deserve hell! I wish I could be there, Y/N. I wish I could smell the flesh sizzle off your bones! I WISH I COULD BE THERE TO HEAR YOU SCREAM!!"
"And I wish you'd shut your pie hole, but we don't always get what we want" Y/N says, not bothering to look at her.

Hellsite Nostalgia Tour 2023 Day 63
No Rest For the Wicked/The Shakespeare Code
"No Rest For the Wicked"
Would I Survive the First Five Minutes??: It was recap and Sam promising Dean he's not gonna go to hell :/
Dean is making saving him so fucking difficult. I mean, he's not WRONG about the dangers of both of them going after Lilith, but still.
Sam...summoning Ruby was one of the no-no's.
I want to apologize first to everyone who voted "No" to me listening to Carry On Wayward Son over and over on finale days. You guys were right. This will not stop me from listening to only that song on finale days. I meant to watch Doctor Who on my lunch, but ended up scrolling tumblr while that played for a whole hour.
Dean is making saving him so fucking difficult. I mean, he's not WRONG about the dangers of both of them going after Lilith, but still.
Sam...summoning Ruby was one of the no-no's.
I didn't expect a knock down, drag out fight between Dean and Ruby...but god damn. That was pretty fucking brilliant of him, steal the knife and lure her into the devil's trap
Omg, this little girl playing Lilith is both adorable and terrifying. She has all the sweetness of the best behaved child yet the front of her dress and her hands are absolutely drenched in blood. Amazing.
I love how much Bobby loves these boys. He's not gonna let them off easy, but he also won't stop lookin out for them <3
No. Cuz like them singing Bon Jovi in the car shouldn't be so cute. But it's fucking PRECIOUS...til Dean thinks too hard about the lyrics
You know, all this time and it's the very first time they've gotten pulled over
It's really CONVENIENT that Dean can see demon's real faces now...
Of course it's not the little girl anymore...
Oh...oh, listening to them say goodbye without saying goodbye...I hate it. I hate it SO MUCH. Yes, even fully knowing there are TWELVE more seasons...
It's...weird that they're running from the hellhounds like IMMEDIATELY after Dean told Sam that Sam has to let him go...I mean, yeah, death by hellhound sounds and looks terrible, and Hell sure isn't gonna be fun, but, like...I dunno
Maybe you need to stop hesitating to kill demons, Sam. It wouldn't have saved Dean, but you would have at least gotten rid of Lilith.
God. I cannot WAIT for tomorrow!!!!!
"Been On My Mind...": My final contractually obligated entry. Huh. So, Sam does get a kiss from Lilith, I guess...in Ruby's body
"The Shakespeare Code"
Nooooooo, I just remembered this episode has a [fandom redacted] reference in it. I mean...we're talking about, what, 2007? So, it's understandable, but I'm really ugh about it being there
STOP. LILITH IS A CHARACTER IN THIS EPISODE TOO??? WHAT ARE THE FUCKING ODDS. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES. HOW DO I KEEP DOING THIS KIND OF SHIT
I love that the Doctor has the same attitude toward the TARDIS as I have toward him "oh let's just take the fun and the mystery out of everything. martha, you don't want to know. it just goes"
The Doctor got really lucky (alien attack aside...that was gonna happen no matter what) things just kinda worked out bringing Martha back to 1599, but brushing off her very valid concerns suckssss
Narrowing my eyes at the "London never changes" comment from the Doctor after Martha looks for confirmation that the actors playing female roles were "men dressed as women." Especially with the my first comment...it's just close enough. WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT, you know? WHAT ARE YOU IMPLYING?
Martha, I respect the hustle, but...clearly this is your first time traveling in time. You were so worried about the butterfly effect before, what happened, my dear?
Honestly, if one of the greatest and most revered writers of all time looked at me like that, I'd have a grin like Martha's too and...also probably spout off a bunch of nonsense right in a row
So...is it not actually aliens? Is it actually actually witches??
Oh! It's an "only one bed" situation. Poor Martha...she's so underappreciated by him. No...not underappreciated, completely UNappreciated.
Yeah...Didn't actually think it was witches. Wrong show for that.
I love when the acting is so camp, but that's what's being called for so it fucking WORKS. Shakespeare being controlled by the one witch (I'm gonna call them that til they give me a species name...). His face looks so dopey but it still works. And only because this is Doctor Who.
It's always entertaining when they have famous authors as characters and they get inspiration whether plot or turns of phrase from this adventure.
I'm not sure how much thought went into the motivations of these aliens...okay. Okay. They DO want to bring more of their species to rule over Earth. I really thought these were the last three left, and they didn't seem as immortal as the Daleks.
...there's more than one...🤢 again...I get for the time period it was written. It just sucks to hear it.
I can't wait to encounter whatever the Doctor did to upset Queen Elizabeth I.
Episodes Since the Doctor's Last Genocide Attempt: 2?? (Is it genocide if they're not dead but locked away in a crystal ball forever?? I guess there's always the CHANCE of escape, but unlikely)

Chapter 3 FHFAA
Chapter 3
Dean came barrling threw the motel rooms door in his arms he had a grow and go child seat and bags of stuff for the small angel. He had a smile from ear to ear for the first time in a long time.
"i got the goods Sam theres still beer in the car" dean was slightly out of breath
"dean slow down you did what" The younger brother wasnt sure what was going on.
" we have a kid round Sam she has needs .so i went shopping. and we needed food"
Cas took his baby girl from sam and walked around the room for a mommnet looking at the small assortment of stuff Dean had found for her.She was all smiles.
she needed to be changed anyway so cas let dean put her in a new outfit.Head bought multiple outfits that said corny things like little angel or heavens missing an angel Even found one that says my daddy is my guardian angel Which was a little ironic considering both of them are angels. but Dean just put her in a little simple onesie after she had been changed and she was just content She was only a little bit fussy But to found her way back to sleep. Let boys talk about no matter that you know cas was called for.
"we're pretty sure it's Gabe" sam said calmly
"how are you so sure"
"hes doing the same shitch he did when we first encountered him"Dean passed the stack of papers that have been printed off at the nearest public library and a newspaper over to Castiel And cas looked at it solely . his breath confirmed that that was most likely the work of his older brother Did he want to face his brother right now because he knew damn good and well Gabriel could hold him in a confinement of some sort of trick with ease Considering he is an archangel much less wearing the face of Loki.
No matter how the spelt it Gabe was tryin to get Tem Free will's attention and he knew just hwo to do it. Metaling with lives of humans wheather there be mentally or just killing them He knew how to get Sam and deans attention. Castiel didn't want to come down to a fight between angels because that normally meant he got expelled from his vessel Especially if it's an archangel. But he had something else to worry about beside himself and Sam or Dean And that was his daughter They were nowhere near South Dakota so they couldn't exactly just ask Bobby to watch her Castiel didn't really have any people he could trust but didn't want his head right now for him defying God. So It meant most likely taking a child who could not defend herself quite yet with a full understanding of what she was doing into a hunt and or meeting with What technically is her older brother.
As Castiel was looking down at his lap pondering what he was to do Sam spoke somlely" Dean I don't really agree with taking a baby On a hunt with an angel involved specifically an archangel one who's been known to wreak havoc on our lives you could even contain cas."
he looked back at Adina and then to the table"
She's not strong enough to defend herself Okay maybe she is but she wouldn't know what to do And to be honest I don't really agree with raising her in this life style Mom didn't want that for us But Dad did it anyway I mean ultimately It's up to you Cas. But personally I don't agree with it But leaves you vulnerable Heaven and Hell know Dean and I are each other's weakness They also know that you are also our weakness I hate to say it but do we really need them knowing that we have one more way to pull at us.But I also don't see another option"
sam made a valid point The forces of heaven an hell probably already knew this child existed So it did leave a giant target on all of team free wheels back If demons knew about an infant angel who didn't know the meaning of right and wrong or who to serve She can be easily manipulated to be an angel fighting for demons directly under Lucifer Whereas If Rafael were to get his hands on her He could be teaching her how to be this perfect little soldier of heaven with no idea of what free will feels like.
"We are taking Adina. She is Family like it or not."Cas's voice was hard and stern "even if we just "he paused for a momnet and shook his head"Leave her in the Impala for that short time. we'll get the holy oil trap set and then question him like normal"
"cas is that smart?"sam looked over at Adina and back at cas whos face was pain laiden
"its all we got"Dean spoke as he reasmlbed his beloved pistol"lets load up and head out car seats all strapped in"
Trying to swaddle. the sleeping baby is not the easiest for three guys with no baby experince in the world Much less one was sensitive wings They had to swaddle her arms up to her body so they could try to keep her wings in place and cushion Again not easy by any means She woke up only once to Castiel quickly put her back to sleep Basically involuntarily He knew that she would need to be asleep for most of this so he used his grace Was the only sure fire way to keep her asleep .Dean in the front seat Sam's sitting shotgun cast in Adina in the back The team drove off not until the sunset More like to they're doom.
"Seriously cas What is it with your brother and abandoned warehouses" Dean did not look thrilled to be on an abandoned warehouse while dealing with Gabriel Last time that happened his nuts were at risk of being smacked very violently.
" Just because he's my brother doesn't mean I know his ins and outs" Cast looked at his little girl Looked at the warehouse an unbuckled anyway.
Sam and Dean did the same and mde their way to the trunk getting the Holy Oil and angel blades just in case.
Castiel opened the passener backdoor and kissed Adina's small head"We will be right back baby . I promise."He laid his coat over her as they had parked in the shade of near by tress.
Dean was a little wearing of opeing this door as last time they did thye got stuck in the TV land A' La Gabe.Cas went in Befoer the other and did up a few oil cricles to be safe. he made it in and out no issues no sign of Gaberiel .
so they went in and got greated to what seemed like heaven.
Dean had his family of dreams long forgoten. a reall home for baby and still getting to hunt with his brother when they had time.HIs kids knew of the Angel of Thrusday and that he was always watching over them.
Sam situation was very similar but involved Jessica And I'm having their little family but I'm not hunting him being some has Dean would put a yuppie lawyer living a life he wanted when he got out of hunting occasional call from Dean And never seen his father again Not even knowing if his father was dead
Castiel saw bees,He saw Adina playing in fields of flowers His brother is not wanting him dead God in his place in heaven Getting to live a peaceful angelic life Not one with wars Not having to worry every waking hour getting to hear the prayers of Sam and Dean and then be positive not cast we need your help but cast you should come see this Little Jimmy did this He drew you you want to bring the kids together so they can have a play date and things like thatHe didn't even see himself in Jimmy Novak He saw himself as his true form the bigger than the Chrysler building true form and his small angel and her growing form.....
to be continued In Chapter 4 ....
Yes I went there I'm a bitch

Unrequited Destiel...
The Legend of The Sun and The Moon
I just wanted to explain in a few words to those that are asking why Dean didn't reply to Cas or why is Jensen talking about angelical way to feel things.
I know they're a lot of post saying WE TOLD YOU THIS AND THAT, and is true. Because if you read my Destiel Chronicles from the beginning, you will see I ALWAYS CALLED THE UNREQUITED LOVE FROM CAS AND DEAN'S POV.
Some of you disbelieves this idea, but is the only way to intepretate why Destiel is the slowest slow burn ever.
No more intro, let's suffer together...
Season 4 and 5 JUST A FLIRTING GAME
Once Dean was pulled out from Hell, Castiel wanted to talk with him. He didn't wait a second. Things blew and it was messy, and even Bobby was scared that that thing would hurt his idjit. But it was just Cas, trying to speak with Dean, desperately trying to reach him in his true form. Why? Because he wanted to talk with him. He had to explain Dean's mission but also, he felt fascinated. And even more after their first meeting face to face when he was finally able to find a vessel.
And Dean just it took him just a little of his time to feel the same fascination. The almighty angel, that could see right through his soul.
But also the angel that said things like...
And we have the handprint too, such an intimate sign between these two.
Castiel showing him, honestly showing him with words and actions, his special interest on him:
"My superiors begun to question my sympathies. I was getting too close to the humans in my charge. You."
How would Dean take this here? The poor guy just decided to check out the angel, and speechless as he was at that moment, couldn't reply to it. "Is he flirting with me? Does he know how gay this sounds?"
Then Cas rebel against Heaven for Dean. Dean pushed him, the whole he pushed Cas to help him. If you rewatch season 4 Dean is constantly asking Cas to help him. Because he already know Cas was different. Because he felt Cas was his friend, his ally, and something else it was growing up in his chest.
While Cas pushed him against the wall, cut his forearm and drew the sigil, Dean's face is full of awe. He can't believe this soldier powerful angel is doing this for him.
And then... "We're making it up as we go."
Gif credit @cyxnrose
The beginning of season 5 is a very busy Cas searching for God, but also, the flirtation begins. Dean is like a cute boy flirting with his crush. The second meaning jokes, trying to figure out if Cas catch it is hilarious. But he will understand 'Cas doesn't understand that reference.'
From Dean's POV in these two season, we coul under he thinks angels are junk less.
Season 6: The profound Bond and the Longing
The romantic feeling from both sides began to flow even more when Castiel goes into the black side, and the first Destiel break up appears infron of our eyes in the middle of a very romantic scenes.
Gif credit @starlightcastiel
Gif credit @inacatastrophicmind
The last gif is out of discussion, bot men looking at each other with sad eyes, longing and as if their conversation isn't over. Dean being disappointed at Cas and Cas trying to make him see his point. Everything he does, he does it for Dean.
And now we know why it is.
Season 7: Mourning Dean and the Jealousy
Even with Showrunner Sera Gamble trying to focus Dean's morning into a Wincest subtext, we had put king Ben Edlund came to the rescue in episode 7x09.
Putting things in order, we were faced with Dean's source of depression: Castiel's death.
So, after that, when Cas really comes back, the reunion is another romantic movie. The MEMORY LOST trope.
And then... Castiel's pseudo wife...
The trope is getting better with the spicy Jealousy in Dean's eyes.
Gif credit @impalaofgrace
So he can't completely enjoy Cas is back because:
1) He doesn't remember him: so, how can be mad or anything else if Cas doesn't remember any details of their break up?
2)The guy has a wife! Okay, so, he has a wife, he easily got a wife from... Nowhere?
And then Meg comes and he is Jealous all over again!
Dean is a really mess of feelings, but in the end, when Cas recalls everything, and when I say everything, i mean Dean, because the majority of his memories was him, Dean just pulls out from his car Castiel's bloody trenchcoat and gives it him back!
So, if there was any doubts about why was Dean mourning and depressed for, we have the confirmation!
Then, let's turn the page, because now is Cas the mess... Depressed and suffering, because he almost destroy heaven, but, do you know what cares the most to Cas and when he cheers up? Yes...
When Dean says... "I RATHER JAVE YOU, CURSED OR NOT" Castiel immediately changed his face, he smiles, and kept staring at Dean with heart eyes. He was happy because Dean was forgiving him. Because since he recovered his memories, the biggest cause of it was Dean's rejection. Dean not being able to forgive him. That was the main cause of his sadness. That's why he avoided reality, he didn't have a cause, because his cause was Dean and Dean was mad at him. But now? Cas is happy again. That's why he decides to come back to battle. "I'll go with you."
Season 8 Purgatory of love and Pining!Dean
Okay, is in this season, Carver era, when Dean's POV has a turning point about Castiel and his true feelings for him and is in this season, when Dean starts pining strongly for the angel, and feeling his love is unrequited.
The cause of it, is Purgatory. The Purity about Purgatory resided in the capacity of that place to resides in abolish every human necessity to let the mind to focused in what really matters. In this case for Dean was SURVIVE AND CAS.
So we can say that what remained pure in Dean's heart was TO FIND CASTIEL.
That's why he prayed to him every night, and that's why in the moment Cas CONFESS he ran away to protect him, something in Dean changes forever.
Gif credit @agusvedder
If you pay attention to Dean's face reaction here, is the expression of the man that realizes in that precisely moment his feelings for Castiel. Even Cas stares to a side, because there was Benny watching them, and the thing he was about to say it was too intimate. I did it to protect you.
Dean, the Big Protector, is being protected by Castiel. So, in Purgatory, Dean Winchester find out his not platonic love for his best friend.
Then we had the entire season with pining!Dean and deception.
Dean's mind invented one excuse for Castiel running away from him because thinking his best friend abbandoned him, was just too painful. He does this again when Cas pushed him inside the gate and he stays in Purgatory. Dean just rewrote in his mind the whole sequence. Imagining that Cas was defeated. But the reality was, Castiel wanted to stay. And when Cas reveals this truth to the hunter, Dean's face is a mix of deep sadness and deception. He felt really rejected by his friend. He felt his unrequited romantic love for him. But he will feel it more stronger in the crypt scene, with the brainwashing and how Castiel's love for Dean broke th connection. But he left. That was a real rejection the hunter barely could handled.
Season 9: Pinning!Castiel and Human!Cas
When Cas became Human, he has to face all the intensity of human's feelings. In this season, is time for our angel to realize his romantic love for the hunter.
Castiel will mirroring Dean's pining in season 8, and he will also feel rejected by him.
Just like Dean in season 8, Castiel will feel his romantic love is unrequited, after Dean kicked him out from the bunker, being this the parallel to the crypt scene.
But then Cain's mark comes, and everything gets worst.
Season 10: Castiel is Dean's Colette
The whole Cain's mark was the visual sign of the Destiel handprint (profound bond) attempt of break.
With Cain and Dean going through a perfect parallelism in which Crowley was placed in the friend's spot, Sam in the brother's spot and Castiel in Colette's spot. Blatant and canon exposure of what Cas means for Dean.
But now, is time for Dean, after came back for being a demon, to feel unrequited again. And this is a detail that could be not seen, but it caught my attention.
CASTIEL: At least temporarily. It’s a long story. Crowley, stolen grace. There’s a female outside in the car.
This is what Castiel says when he goes into Dean's room and after Dean praises him...

Dean had been with Crowley when he was a demon this whole time, so Cas was heartbroken. Even this season opens with a very depressed Castiel in the bed just let himself die because Dean was gone. So, that's why Cas says this.
So you went with Crowley, i have a female in my car. See? I don't need you.
He was Jealous, and now Dean gets Jealous, but he also gets the sensation again of his love for Castiel is unrequited.
The episode that followed this one, Dean goes into a blind date with random chick he took from a date app (very ooc, but he did it because he had his heart broken and because he thought CAS had cheated on him while he was gone as a demon.)
Season 11: Dean resist a forced bond with Amara because he's bonded with Castiel
Season 11 is a blatant exposure of Dean's feelings for Castiel. There a lot of hints throughout the season telling us Dean is in love, just like in season 9 there was hints of this with Castiel. (Again, mirroring each other).
Dean resisted Amara because of his love for Castiel. But Cas is oblivious about this.
When Castiel is possesed by Lucifer, Dean switch's into desperate mode. If he was worried about his attraction for Amara, now the only thing he cares was Castiel, exposing again WHO DEAN IS IN LOVE WITH.
But when Dean wanted to rescue Castiel, and Cas didn't want to come back to him, it hurt him worst. Again, just like in season 8, Dean can't handle Cas doesn't want to come back with him (first from Purgatory and now from being possesed). Again Dean feels rejected and unrequited. That's why when Cas is back and the end of the world is close... Dean says these words...
"You're our brother, Cas. I want you to know that."
And Cas' face...
Gif credit @mad-as-a-box-of-frogs
That's a man with the heart broken, mostly because we know now he was in love with Dean CANON FACT! (sobbing louder).
Season 12 and the confusing I LOVE YOU
This season was full of married couple situations, but mostly, we had Castiel's I Love You in the barn, before "dying".
At first Dean thinks the angel was saying this as goodbye, expressing into words his feelings for the Winchesters. Because as and angel, maybe Cas was feeling he has to protect them all. But then he says this singular I Love You to Dean, and the guy doesn't know how to take it. It was a platonic ILY? A non platonic ILY? Does angels feel the same like us? Does he sees me as a brother? Dean was truly a mess, so he decides to respond to that with a Mixtape.
But, when Castiel disappears for days, he sinks again into that sensation of unrequited romantic love.
Then Cas comes back, and then he goes away again, and then he dies.
Season 13: The reunion and the meaning of Castiel coming back
Dean's mourning for Cas can't be interpreted otherwise than LOSING THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE.
And the longing for his angel plus some Nougat powers, brought him back.
The thing is, Dean didn't expr as his feeling for Castiel and when the angel asked him that he needed to believed that he came back for a reason, Dean goes...
Gif credit @inacatastrophicmind
This sound like if he was recruiting Cas for war. And Cas' took it as that. So he came back to soldier angel mode. Because, okay, if Dean and Sam needed him to fight, he will fight.
Unrequited Love again.
Season 14 Healing Dean and the prelude of the break up
Post-possesed Dean is a follow up of self knowledge and self growing. He was healing the whole season.
But in episode 14x04 we heard Dean being Jealous or hurt because Castiel didn't go to rescue him and then because he goes into hunts with Jack. Unrequited love again.
Did Cas miss me as I missed him?
Is the first time Dean will actually name the word LOVE talking with the kid.
And then Mary dies and everything is a mess.
Dean yells YOU ARE DEAD TO ME, and how sad that sounds now that the angel had died again. Saving his life.
Dark clouda over our ship...
Season 15: And Maybe is not too late...
In season 15 we lived the angst of the Destiel break up, but then their reunion in Purgatory was beautiful.
Again, facing the fact that he could lost Cas one more time, Dean went down on his knees and prayed to him, and because he was in Purgatory, his heart and mind were released from any distraction, and he was plenty focused in the love he feels for his angel.
He cried, and begged for him to come back.
And he found him, following his heart, the profound bond he has with Castiel.
But, when he was about to say something that he hadn't said in the prayer, Castiel cut him off. So... Again the hunter had to swallow his words and the unrequited love punch him again.
Then... Castiel's romantic love confession took Dean by surprise, because, now that you read all the clues i gave you and i convinced you that Dean and Cas thought their love were unrequited, you will understand Dean's reaction.
Gif credit @spnsmile
Dean didn't can't believe Cas had loved him the way he does this whole time and now, he will lose him again. Is too much pain he can't handle.
For a lot of reasons we had analyzed so many times (Dean's arc has to have a closure expressing his ILY to the angel, the Empty plot is not ended, Etc) Is logical to think Cas will come back in the last episode, and this slow burn story will end with them being together, finally.
To Conclude:
The legend of the Sun and the Moon talks about two lovers that can't be reunited but they love each other deeply.
Is accurate with Destiel, because these two men had always being pining for each other but never be able to be together as they wish.
Castiel always thinking Dean doesn't reciprocate his romantic feeling for him and Dean thinking because Cas is an angel, he doesn't love him back romantically.
The Sacred Oath always playing in Castiel's POV as an impediment too and Dean's love clocked in shame too.
The deal with the Empty had been settled as we suspected in season 14, as a romantic plot. So, it has to have a closure.
These thoughts are based on the volumes from my assay "The Destiel Chronicles", currently in it's 87th volume.
See you soon! Have faith!

Maybe Tonight I'll Call You After My Blood Turns Into Alcohol
summary : You're exhausted after non-stop hunting and can't seem to catch a break. Danger seems to be lurking around every corner and death is knocking at the door. pairing : Dean Winchester x afab!reader cw : BLOOD TW, cursing, minor mention of cherry popping and red wings, vomit mention (very minor), black and blue eye mentions, death mentions, DEATH TW, alcohol consumption word count : Approx. 3,158 words a/n : Probably some spelling and grammar errors. I'm aware that his favorite pie flavor is apple but I made it cherry to go with the story. This ended up being way longer then I expected! Apologies for making Sam be such an asshole in this one. I hope that yinz like it! 🥰 Requested by @spngi. Hopefully you enjoy this! I definitely tried to incorporate everything you asked for! (fluff & adele - make you feel my love)
It was midnight and you and the boys were just rolling in after a long night. Baby rolled up toward the motel, Sam checked in while you and Dean went for a quick bite. The aroma of pie in the air grabbed your attention and his aswell. The clouds in the sky were looking gloomy and you were honestly beat after all the non-stop hunting. The neighboorhood is quite rundown and across the road is an 7/11. The men outdoors seemed questionable and you could confirm that atleast a fraction of them are demons, maybe even a vampire or two in the mix. You grunted while facing the diner window, "I genuinely don't want to hunt more tonight but those men seem like a problem." Dean took a seat directly across from you.
Dean has his knuckles covered in dried blood, you cringed while seeing them. He had been fighting with Sam lately and you tried your best to stay out of it. "I will keep you safe Y/N, I know that I'm not the best person in the world but I can definitely take care of some pesky demons and vamps for you." You shook your head in denial, "No Dean, I don't want to see you get hurt more. Please just take the night off and rest." You pleaded with him but you could tell that Dean seemed protective and full of worry. You truly didn't know why though because you had only been working with the boys for a few months now. Of course Dean is attractive but you always noticed when he ogled the waitress.
The waitress approached the two of you, prepared to take your orders. You often ordered the same meal as Dean, not to copy him but you two have similar taste in food. "Fine, but if any of those creatures come near you then I'm killing every last one of them." Dean eventually responded to you, but not at the best timing. You were sure that Dean had to notice the waitress standing directly in front of them. Well, he was staring at more than her face that was for sure and it made you somewhat jealous.
You didn't think there was a reason to be jealous. You and Dean had only hooked up when drunk or binging scary movies together, but maybe there was more to it then just hooking up. You nudged Dean on his shoulder before rolling your eyes at him, "We will take two cherry pies, please." You spoke to the waitress before she nodded and walked away. "Dean! You can't just go around saying that you will kill things, I don't want your ass to get thrown in jail again. I already had to break you and Sam out once."
"Sweetheart, it's all going to be okay. You worry too much." Dean stated with little thought. "I worry too much? I've saved your ass more times then I can count on two hands," You sighed, "I care about you, Dean. I hate that you feel the need to punch the wall when you're frustrated with Sam. It's not doing your hands any favors." You glanced down at his bloody knuckles oncemore, just wishing he wouldn't find more danger tonight. "Fine, I will try not to do that as much. I care about you too Y/N and that is why I would risk my life protecting you." His comment brought you joy, seeing his dimples made you grin like a fool. You hoped that you would get the opportunity to tell Dean how you truly feel.
The two of you waited for food at the booth in awkward silence. "Scooch over." You muttered to Dean before he did just that and you slid on the seat beside him. Being closer to Dean made you feel fuzzy inside, his warmth radiated off of him when you snuggled up against his arm.
His hand brushed up against your own, you decided to entangle your fingers with his. "You're so sweet, you know that Y/N? Hell, you even make me want to be a better person." Dean chimed, you could hear the genuine happiness in his voice.
His words left you speechless for the time being. "I think you're sweet too, Dean. Even if sometimes you can be a thorn in my side." You stated before poking him on his dimples.
The two of you snuggled into each other more and Dean rubbed his thumb up against your hand which made you blush the slightest bit. You could see the glimmer in his eyes when he looked at you. "Hey uh, Dean? Why do you always stare at other women?" You didn't want to ruin the moment but you just had to know, jealousy clearly seeping through your voice. Dean shrugged, "Not sure, I'm single and like to mingle but ever since we met I wish to hold my gaze at you only. You are the only person in my life I want to be with." You looked like a deer in headlights when listening to his reply, shocked even and it took you a moment to process what he just said. "Awe Dean, I feel the same way about you too. You are my world and I want to be with you too."
It felt like a weight being lifted off your chest when you finally admitted this to Dean, before he got a chance to reply the food was set in front of you two and the waitress looked at the both of you before she spoke. "You two make a very cute couple." "Uh, we're not-" before you got the chance to finish your sentence, Dean revised it and said what you were hoping for. "We are a couple and thank you." He told the waitress who smiled at him. Dean raised his eyebrow at you which signalled asking if it was okay for you and him to be a couple, you nodded your head with joy. Who knew it was this easy to become boyfriend and girlfriend. You felt fuzzy inside at the thought of it. Dean Winchester is your boyfriend, woah. "Would either of you like anything else?" The waitress questioned, you and Dean said the word no in unison. She soon walked off and began to help other customers out. The diner wasn't too busy because it was late. You took one giant bite of your pie but that was truly a massive mistake because Dean decided to be funny. He glanced down at your cherry pie and back up at you, he had this devious smirk on his face when you were chewing the pie, it left you to wonder what in the hell he was up to.
"It's quite ironic that we're eating cherry pie..." Dean paused before speaking again, "Since I was the one that popped your cherry." The smirk remained on his lips as you stared at him with wide eyes. He caught you so off guard that you spit the remaining pie on the napkin from the booth. Your cheeks turned the same shade of the pie. Feeling so embarrassed, you hid your face into the crook of his neck and shoulder. Dean placed a gentle kiss upon your cheek, he could feel the warmth of them. "I'm sorry babygirl, but I just couldn't miss the opportunity of making that joke." "It's okay Dean but I will find a way to get back at you." You teased back and glanced up at him with your cheeks still warm as ever. "You're sexy when you blush." He added which you then rolled your eyes up at him playfully, "I'm glad that you were the one to pop my cherry." Dean grinned at your comment then taking a bite of his own pie. The two of you continued to scarf down pie, not taking long because it was yours and his favorite food. Dean ended up with some on his face. "Not the first time you ended up with red on your face either-" You smirked proudly not expecting what his reaction would be at all. Before Dean got the chance to react, you licked the cherry filling from his lips and cheek.
Dean winked at you before placing his lips against yours and the two of you battled for dominance with your tongues, you could taste cherry and beer on his breath, he would probably taste the same on your side of things. The two of you kissed for what seemed like forever. "Now that is one cute couple there." The waitress commented to one of the other workers as they watched you and Dean. Your lips parted from his because you needed to catch your breath, you took a sip from your flask before handing it over to Dean. Letting out a chuckle seeing the waitress and worker admiring you two, "I think we have fans." Dean shrugged before closing up your flask and handing it back to you. You put it back into your pocket. "I have plenty fans but you will always be my number one fan, babygirl." "You'll always be mine too." You grinned before digging in your pocket for money to foot the bill. Dean shook his head at you, "No baby, I want to pay."
"Fine, but next time I want to pay. I need to actually get some rest anyways." You yawned while watching Dean fish out the money from his own pocket, he left the waitress a tip. You scooted your way out of the booth and Dean did aswell. He held the door open for you and soon followed. The men across the road at the 7/11 were giving you and Dean death glares but you couldn't help to notice that the men were paying more attention to you. "Ignore them babygirl, if they keep eyeing you up then they will be dead before they get the chance to blink." The motel door creaked open when Dean entered and you soon followed. Sam was fast asleep on the bed, snoring away. "I thought me and you were the noisy ones." Dean teased you which caused you to roll your eyes, "Haha, very funny." You flopped onto the other bed and slipped off your shoes and jeans. Dean did the same aswell except the only thing left on him was his boxers. You gnawed at your lower lip all while looking him up and down, he looked sexy as hell but you were honestly too exhuasted to act on your feelings down there. He hopped into the bed next to you and spooned you, he was hard through his boxers but the both of you were exhausted. You let his arms fall around you, yawning before letting your eyes fall shut. "Goodnight, my babygirl." "Goodnight, Dean." You mumbled into your pillow.
Dean slept for a good two hours as did you, but Dean heard banging against the motel door. "Ugh, what now?" He slumped himself up out of the bed and opened the door handle. A few of the men from earlier were standing directly infront of him, demon eyes and even fangs showing on the others. "Oh will you pesky creatures just fuck off for one night?" He slammed the door in there faces but when they knocked again he only answered because he didn't want the men to wake you up. You tossed and turned in your sleep. Dean rolled his eyes at the men from earlier, "Atleast let me kick your asses across the road so I don't wake my girlfriend up!" Dean yelled at them frustrated but they surprsingly agreed to his offer. Dean followed them but didn't have the slightest clue of how outnumbered he was. Vampires and demons alike came from the shadows and it wasn't even evening. Dean reached for his dagger but his odds were about twenty to one, he managed to slash a few demons and cut off some vampire heads. One of the demons grabbed at Dean, before he got the chance to rid the demon, another two were fast on his tracks. He fell to the ground and knew he was in danger. Dean fought the creatures off to the best of his abilities. Blood was spilling from his side as he clenched it in pain, not wanting to lose more blood then he already did. Dean crawled away from the demons and they eventually lost his scent. The vampires surrounded him, Dean caught a mean right hook. When the pain became too much he yelped out in pain, he screamed for any type of help. Dean wasn't usually one to ask for help but he knew if he waited too long that he would be dead. Dean hid under a car, his trail of blood dragging along with him. You tossed and turned even more, reaching out for the feeling of Dean but all there was is a cold emptiness. You rubbed your eyes and jumped up out of bed when you heard someone scream. You would know that voice from anywhere, it was Dean. In a rush, you threw your jeans and shoes on, then grabbing the colt and anything else that would kill creatures. You practically bursted through the door and ran over to where you heard the scream. There seemed to be less demons and vamps then earlier but Dean was nowehere to be found. You shot your way through the demons and slashed heads from the vamps, once they were all dead you followed the trail of blood, seeing a beat to death Dean. "D-d-Dean." You could barely speak, you never saw him like this before, it shattered you to see him like this. His eyes fluttered open and shut, "Dean-stay with me please! I can't lose you...." A single tear rolled down from your face and onto Dean, he attempted to reach up and rub it away but was in too much pain to do so. "Dean, save your strength please." "Hold on to your wound while I carefully drag you from under the car." You did just that and gently brought him free from under the vehicle. His eye was black and blue, nearly swollen and the sight of it made you want to vomit but you knew that you had to stay strong in order to save his life.
You swiftly reached into your pocket and helped Dean pull his shoulders out of his jacket, then wrapping up his side with the little bandage that you did have on hand at all times. "Dean, listen to me. Okay? I'm going to call Sam and I want you to do one thing for me and focus on it. Please keep your eyes open and don't give up on me." He nodded in reply while you started to check his breathing along with other things, "I want you to look up at the stars and tell me what you see." The stars shined bright and glistened off of the moon, the gloomy clouds loomed over the two of you. You watched Dean carefully before pulling out your phone and calling Sam. "Sam! Get your ass over here now! We're at the 7/11 and Dean is... Dean!" You threw the phone down on the pavement, beginning to check his vitals only to find that Dean isn't breathing. Tears flood down your face as rain pours from the clouds when you are trying your damdest to save his life. You press up against his chest many times, and after a bit he starts to breathe, but slowly. "I-I thought I lost you." You uttered while looking down at the beaten Dean, tears now mixing alongside the rain falling on the both of you. You threw your jacket over his wounds, trying to keep him as dry as possible. Sam came running over, his eyes puffy and red because he was crying on the way over, thinking his brother was actually dead, Dean was dead but only for a moment. You looked up at Sam with worry in your eyes as Dean had hitched breathing, he had to be in a world of pain right now. "I will always love you Y/N, no matter what..." Dean managed to get out which only caused you to cry more. You laid down next to him and placed a subtle kiss on his cheek, the rain became even harder now and the wind was starting to pick up. "I will always love you too, Dean. No matter what." "We need to get him to the ER stat." Sam informed and you nodded, "We need to be extremely careful though." You and Sam carried Dean toward Baby, then setting him down in the backseats, you put extra gauze and bandage on him while Sam started the car up and began driving fast. You had cried so much that night you didn't think it possible to cry more but it happened anyways. A single tear rolled down your face while clutching Dean close in your arms, he raised his hand up while wincing, wiping that single tear away. Sam reached the ER and doctors and nurses alike rushed out to take care of Dean. They took him back to the room as soon as possible. After what felt like forever, you paced in the waiting room while Sam rested against the chair. You didn't know how Sam could be sleeping in a time like this. After a few hours you woke up Sam so you both could check up on Dean. Dean had an icepack over his one eye and stitches running alongside his side. Seeing him like this made you want to cry even more. "Babygirl, I apologize for hunting on my own but they were going to hurt you..." Dean uttered while you sat next to him on the hospital bed. "Dean, they hurt you... you were dead-" Sam sat on the other side of Dean, lecturing him on why he shouldn't hunt alone and how stupid it was to do so. You hissed at Sam, "Cut Dean some slack, okay!? Whatever beef you have with him just drop it! Your brother died and you were fucking sleeping!" The yelling caused Dean to shift, the pain ran through his body. "Whatever." Sam huffed and went out of the room. "Don't listen to him, Dean." You placed a gentle kiss upon his cheek. "I would go to the ends of the earths for you, babygirl." "I know, baby. I know. Please get some rest. I will be here when you wake up." Dean closed his eyes and got some sleep to feel better, you remained in the ER all night even past visiting hours, the doctors threatened to have you arrested but you didn't care, you made a promise to stay by his side no matter what and no one would be stopping you.

StackedNatural Day 138: 8x17
StackedNatural Masterpost: [x]
March 20, 2022
8x17: Goodbye Stranger
Written by: Robbie Thompson
Directed by: Thomas J. Wright
Original air date: March 20, 2013
Plot Synopsis:
Sam and Dean hunt down the angel tablet with assistance from Castiel and Meg.
Features:
The cold open of all cold opens, Cas going to conversion therapy, Beautiful Mind demons, a missing orchard, the Angel Tablet, Megstiel, Sam’s subatomic damage, the bisexual flag in Heaven, the Destiel scene to end all Destiel scenes, Meg’s death.
My Thoughts:
They were absolutely fucking insane for sending Cas to conversion therapy. And then they didn’t confirm any queerness for 7 more years! This episode was supposed to have an “I love you” from Dean instead of an “I need you”! Robbie Thompson does it again.
I absolutely love Meg as a character. I like how long she’s been around flickering in and out of their lives since 1x11 Scarecrow (although we never did learn her true name, since Meg Masters was actually the name of her first human host). I know that Rachel Miner asked to be written off because of her declining health, but I can’t help but imagine a world where she joined Team Free Will. I think the dynamic of later seasons would be shaken up in a really interesting way if there was someone whose first priority was Cas rather than Sam or Dean. I think she would have stood up for him a lot, and that in turn would have forced Dean to be more honest and kinder to him or risk losing him to someone he would inevitably see as competition for Cas’ affections, though I doubt he would be able to admit that to himself. I love how honestly they care about each other, whether it would have ended up being romantic or platonic or what. @meg3point0 also brought up that having Meg spend more time with them and proving that demons can feel love would have stirred up a lot of memories of Ruby for Sam, and that would have been really delicious as well.
Naomi as a villain is really effective at this point because we’ve seen her pretty rarely - when Cas first comes back form Purgatory, and when we see the first lobotomy, and then this episode - but she’s shown to have controlled so much of what’s happened in season 8. She has control of the narrative while remaining relatively hidden. The flipping back and forth between Earth and Heaven was a genius way to show what’s happening in Cas’ head, giving us way more information than the brothers, and really well directed so it’s never confusing. A great Stack moment came from this, with Cas asking Naomi for orders reminding me of him asking Anna to tell him what to do in yesterday’s episode. It’s also so delicious that yesterday we saw his first flirtation with the idea of rebelling, and today we see him defy Heaven entirely, and both of these were out of love for Dean Winchester.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think we ever find out what the history between Crowley and Naomi is. I feel like somewhere along the showrunner’s switching off, something they were setting up got forgotten. Referring to Mesopotamia implies that he’s much older than 1661, which is when Fergus MacLeod was supposedly born. I remember when this episode first aired, there was a lot of speculation in my corner of the internet that he was actually an old god, or maybe even the snake from the Garden of Eden. I wish they had made something of that - he got so pathetic in later seasons that it’s easy to forget what a powerful antagonist he was earlier on.
Notable Lines:
“No hesitation. Quick. Brutal. Everything's back in order.”
“I don't know, Dean. If he's so sketchy, then why were you praying to him?”
“Why are you so sweet on me, Clarence?” “I don't know. And I still don't know who Clarence is.”
“I'm kind of good, which sucks. And you're kind of bad -- which is actually all manner of hot.”
“There's blood everywhere, and it's on your hands. After everything you did -- to us, to heaven. I fixed you, Castiel.”
“I know you can hear me. Cas… It's me. We're family. We need you. I need you.”
“What broke the connection?” “I don’t know.”
Laura’s (completely subjective) Episode Rating: 9.8
IMdB Rating: 8.6
In Conclusion: We’re getting to the point in Stacked where everything is building to finales, so hopefully we get more bangers to come!

Always be Yours- 2
Word Count 5,437 *not my gif*
Story Summary: Inspired by the 2 part I did of the same title. Follows Dean and Reader through season 9 into season 10
Chapter Summary: Adaddon is back and using two hunters to draw the boys into a trap so of course you're right there with them
Warnings: cursing, fights, minor character death
Dean could hear your laughter drifting down the hall the moment he stepped out of his room. You'd only been at the bunker a week or so but you'd always had a habit of making any place feel your presence. Hell even Crowley asked if he could see you when he found out you were there. Kevin was acting more normal than he'd ever seen the kid and it was a bit of a relief to know he wasn't the only one keeping a close eye on Sam should Ezekial decide to not hold up his end of the bargain.
He headed towards the kitchen and could hear music. The closer he got he made out the tune of "You give love a bad name" when he stepped around the corner he was met with the sight of Sam spinning you around while you sang along word for word. Kevin was sitting at the table working on a large stack of pancakes and laughing at the show of you and Sam dancing around the kitchen in your pajamas. The two of you had formed a close friendship back when you were both the youngest kids being pawned off on Bobby during hunts and Dean would be lying if he said he didn't wish you were as comfortable around him as you were Sam.
He could still remember the first case him and Sam worked solo with you. It was the Croatoan virus. You hadn't blinked an eye when you refused to leave Sam's side when he was exposed telling them both that if they were giving in so were you. Over the years you'd been in and out of their lives and the day he'd been dragged out of hell you showed up at Bobby's and had a blade to his neck before him or Bobby could explain. When they proved it was really him that was the first time you'd ever hugged him. You'd pratically squealed when you jumped into his arms "Dean! You're back!"
You always had a habit that no matter how long you went without seeing him or Sam you always treated them as if you'd just seen them the day before. When Sam was soulless you helped him to track down Death to get Sam's soul back. He'd never seen you back down from a fight especially if someone you cared about was fighting.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when you slid to a stop in front of him and held a hand out to him. "C'mon Dean" you pleaded and he shook his head "I haven't even had my coffee yet Y/N" you being the ever persistent woman you were rolled your eyes then looked over your shoulder at Sam "Be a good little brother and fix the man some coffee" Sam grinned as he moved to grab Dean's mug and you turned back around to Dean with a smile "So now what's your excuse?" the song switched to "Have you ever seen the rain" and your eyes lit up when he hummed the first couple bars before hesitantly taking your hand.
You slid your arms up around his neck and he put his hands at your waist careful not to catch the bare skin when your shirt rode up slightly. Normally he'd feel stupid as hell dancing in the kitchen? Especially with an audience but the smile on your face was worth it, most of the time you tried to keep up the front of a fearless hunter but since Bobby's death you'd started to let your guard fall more often and around more people than just Sam. When the song ended you winked at him and said "Who knew Dean Winchester can dance?" then moved to turn the player down. Sam cleared his throat and looked from you to Dean before holding the coffee out "Want your coffee Dean?" when you turned your back Sam raised his eyebrows and Dean shot him a glare "Thanks Sammy" you thankfully didn't see the look passed between them when you turned around to ask Kevin if he wanted orange juice.
-------
The ease of the morning was interrupted by a phone call coming in about a busload of bodies found on a naval base. That mixed with the freaky storms and dead cattle circling that area screamed demon. You grabbed your duffel bag and the bag with your fed suit then stepped out of your room and met up with Kevin in the hallway. He glanced down towards the armory so you shot him a smile "Just stay away from him Kev. He'll try to get into your head and it's not worth it" he gave you a small smile in return "I'll stay away from him Y/N" he turned to head to the library so you headed for the map room where Sam and Dean stood waiting. Dean's eyes skimmed over you and your crossed your arms "Is there a problem Dean?" he met your eyes and smirked slightly "Naw, just you're gonna be a lot more fun to look at all day than Sammy here" you rolled your eyes and chunked your duffel bag to him considering they both already kept go bags in baby's trunk "Easy tiger, we got work to do"
You walked next to Sam up the stairs talking about the case and what could possibly be waiting.
------
When Dean rolled to a stop right outside the area that had been tapped off you slid your ID into your pocket then climbed out the backseat. You had stopped off about ten miles back for all of you to change into your suits. "This place reeks of sulphur" Sam muttered and you nodded "Between the stink and the storms.." "Mixed with the dead cattle I'll take demons for a thousand Alex" Dean finished holding the police tape up for you to walk underneath.
The MP noticed the three of you and headed your way so you pulled your badges out while Dean did the introduction "Agents Stark, Banner and Barnes. FBI. Just need to have a look around" She didn't hesitate to ask "Why? This is a military case, not a federal one" "Well that's not what our supervisor said" you interjected and if anything you speaking seemed to make her attitude that much worse "That so? Then maybe him and I ought to have a chat" Sam cut his eyes at you and Dean said "Ok" then pulled his phone out. You wondered what he was doing and leaned up slightly to see him hit Kevin's number.
"Hey boss, we got a little problem" poor Kevin you just hoped he knew to play along. After a beat Dean continued "Yeah just a local badge needs a little confirmation we're supposed to be here. How the word came down from FBI headquarters in D.C." you were glad you were used to situations like this because if not you probably would've laughed imagining how confused Kevin must be but nonetheless Dean said "Yeah" then held the phone out to the MP.
She looked between the three of you before saying "This is sergeant Miranda Bates. Who am I talking to?" She looked back at Dean who you knew by far wouldn't break before asking Kevin "How old are you?" you were started to get annoyed with her attitude when she said "Listen kid, I don't have to do anything and I don't take orders from the feebs so unless you can give me one good reason you got a couple of pretty boy agents and their handler poking around my crime scene" "Handler?" you scoffed and Sam reached a hand out to pull you back next to him as she kept ranting "I'm gonna put them in cuffs and spank your ass raw"
Her face fell at something Kevin said "What?..How did you find that?" You looked between the boys to see if they had any idea what Kevin was telling her but they both shrugged. She finally said "Yes sir" then handed Dean's phone back and walked away.
Dean was barely holding back a smile when he said "Kevin, what the hell did you just do?" Sam motioned to the bus so Dean waved the two of you ahead.
You stepped on the bus behind Sam and went to the first body while Sam started looking over a different one. "Sam look" you pushed back the guy's shirt with a pen to show the bullet hole in his chest. All the bodies had fatal wounds but they were all also long dead.
Dean then stepped up on the bus and asked "Got anything?" Sam nodded to the body nearest you "This guy was shot in the heart" "That what killed him?" he asked and Sam looked at you so you shrugged "Maybe? but like ten or twenty years ago" Dean glanced at Sam who added "All these bodies have fatal wounds but they're all old" "So meatsuits?" Dean guessed so you nodded "Bodies took a licking but demons kept them ticking"
"And now they're riding the soldiers" Sam added. Dean looked behind Sam "Hey" you looked up to see sergeant Bates walking up onto the bus with a tablet in her hands "Excuse me agents. We pulled this off the security camera. You might want to take a look" Sam reached out for it so you moved to the side so Dean could see the screen as well. It clearly showed the soldiers walking away but Sam froze on one woman in particular. You knew they couldn't tell you why in front of Bates but the moment the three of you stepped off the bus Dean said "Abaddon? Seriously?" and you knew why Sam had frozen the screen. That was the demon that had attacked the men of letters and who killed their grandfather Henry after him and her jumped through a magical portal to recent time.
"I thought you kentucky fried that meatsuit?" Dean asked Sam who shrugged "I did Dean" "Then how did she get it back?" you asked and nodded to the cop that held the tape up for you to pass. "And why's she playing G.I. Joe?" Dean said and Sam responded "No clue. Why don't you ask her when we find her?"
You slid into the backseat and pulled your suit jacket off while Dean pulled out onto the road and said "Oh I will and then I'm gonna chop her freaking head off..again"
------
After stopping off long enough for all of you to change back into normal clothes you got back on the road to the bunker. It was already dark out and you were laid across the backseat when Sam's phone rang and you heard him say "Hold on Kevin..Wait..slow down" Sam cut his eyes back when you sat up then put the phone on speaker while Kevin repeated the coordinates he'd been given then said "And she gave me two names. Irv Franklin and Tracy Bell" "Irv's a friend, don't know Tracy" Dean cut in before Kevin continued "All right, the lady said they were hunters and that if you didn't go save them that she would kill them" "Yeah heard that song before" Dean grumbled but you were looking up the coordinates to see where you were all headed.
"Dean, who was she?" Kevin asked so you answered without looking up "The bad guy" Dean asked Kevin to dig up everything the men of letters had on the knights of hell. Abaddon was one although you didn't know exactly what that entailed. After Sam hung up with Kevin you leaned up between him and Dean "The numbers point to a spot on the outskirts of Eugene, Oregon" then glanced between the two of them "Are we gonna adknowledge this is a trap right?"
"Yup" Dean said matter of factly. You turned your head to look at Sam when he asked "And we're just gonna walk right into it?" "Guns blazing" you answered and saw Dean glance your way in the mirror. "Well Y/N's with me, Sam?" Sam of course said "You know it"
------
You drove through the night and stopped a few miles shy of where Abaddon wanted to meet so all of you could be as well prepared as possible. The place was completely abandoned. Dean gave voice to your thoughts when he asked "What the hell happened here?" "A local chemical plant sprang a leak years ago. They evacuated three square blocks. Guess it's still contaminated"
"Wait? So this whole place is poison?" you asked, a little worried. "Yeah" Sam replied and you laughed when you saw Dean's hand move to cover his crotch "That's not gonna help" Sam told him with a sigh. Dean realized you'd seen him and shrugged "It doesn't hurt"
One thing you'd gotten used to was that when you hunted with them both they had a habit of keeping you between them when they could. You weren't sure if it was on purpose or not. The three of you walked further into the town then heard a slam coming from an old diner that caused you and Sam to pull your guns. Dean nodded so you covered Sam while he kicked the door in.
"Clear" you and Dean went in behind him so you kept an eye on the kitchen to make sure there was no surprises while Dean untied Irv and who had to be Tracy. You glanced back when he said Abaddon had been torturing hunters to get information on Sam and Dean. If you hadn't been with them she might have gotten her claws on you.
Dean gave Irv a shot of holy water while Sam gave one to Tracy who rolled her eyes "Happy?" she was slinging more aggression towards Sam than you would've liked but now wasn't the time. Irv nodded to you when Dean untied him "Y/N, good to see ya" "Yeah" you said then once again Tracy got mouthy with Sam when he introduced himself. You knew the look you had when Irv quickly explained "She's new. We worked a shifter job in Sacramento together. Smart but got a mouth on her" She scoffed so you clicked your tongue "Honey we ain't got time for whatever you got going on. We need to gear up and clear out" Dean tilted his head towards you "What she said"
------
You were helping Dean lay out every weapon you'd grabbed. "We got jesus juice, devil's trap bullets shoot a demon with them and put em on lockdown" He explained and you spun an angel blade in your hand "Angel blades work"
Irv took a gun loaded with Devil's trap bullets about the time Sam said "They're coming" "Good" Dean said handing you a vial of holy water. "They've got assault rifles" Sam added and you cursed under your breath "Ok, less good"
Irv looked at Dean "So, what's the play?" Dean looked at you "Give me your phone" you handed it over without question and watched him record a voice memo of himself saying "COME AND GET IT YOU DICKS" and knew his plan. You grabbed one of the cake trays and drug it over in front of him "Prop it up here" he did as you said then looked between everyone else. "Let's go"
------
All of you made it out behind the cafe so Dean looked around "We got to flank seal team douche in there so uh Irv, you and me will go left. Sam, you Y/N and Tracy go right" "Ok let's move" Sam said and reached for Tracy's arm but she shoved him back "Don't touch me" "What is your problem?" you asked feeling Dean grab you around the waist with one arm to hold you in place while he repeated the question.
Tracy's eyes never moved off of Sam "My family's dead because of him" "What?" Sam asked and in that moment you could've knocked Tracy flat just for the guilt in his eyes. She looked back at you then at Dean before saying "I watched a demon slaughter my parents and the whole time it talked about how it was celebrating how some dumb kid let Lucifer out of his cage" you looked over your shoulder at Dean and he slid his arm from around you. "Ok we got to move. Y/N you go with Sam and Irv, Tracy with me" you didn't really want to leave her with Dean in case it became a your brother did this to my people so I'm gonna do this to you type of thing but it wasn't like you were in a position to start an argument. You simply nodded and tapped Sam's shoulder "Let's go"
------
You were walking close to Sam gripping your gun and trying to keep an eye out, He had the demon blade in his hand and Irv was behind you. "Sam you copacetic?" Irv asked and Sam nodded "I'm good" Irv glanced at you then said "Good. Give me that toothpick, grab Y/N then you two get Dean and Tracy and get the hell out of here" "What?" you asked in shock and Irv explained "I'm going in there alone. I'll buy you as much time as I can"
"Irv, that's death" Sam glanced at you for help but you didn't know what to say at a friend basically asking for the two of you to be ok with him killing himself. Irv looked ashamed when he finally spoke "Yeah, well it's what I got coming..It's my fault. I was in some dive and I was sloppy and lonely" Sam glanced at you as Irv continued "And I met some girl and the next thing you know, I'm strapped to some bed and she's twisting things that ain't supposed to be twisted" "She who?" Sam questioned but you had a feeling you already knew the answer Irv saying "Abaddon" just confirmed you were right.
Irv's voice broke when he said "I gave em up. Pete,Tracy, even you Y/N. I gave em all up. So Sam you hand me that blade and you let me do what I got to do or so help me" but he had moved to the point his back wasn't blocked by any building and a shot rang out a second before Irv fell. Sam instinctively pushed you back and pulled his gun. You nodded that you were ok then you both leaned out to return fire then make a break for the diner that was across the street.
You fell in behind Sam and looked up to see one of the demon's holding you at gunpoint "Boo"
He snatched you to your feet and Sam dove for him with the demon blade but another demon popped up and knocked Sam sideways then both of you were thrown over the counter. You scrambled to your feet again about the time the third demon walked around the corner and smiled "Cool. I didn't miss the best part"
------
Safe to say you and Sam were getting your asses handed to you. He had his head slammed into a wall and you thought he was unconscious then suddenly his eyes glowed blue and he looked at "GET DOWN" "Bout time you pop up" you muttered diving back behind the counter and tucking yourself into the smallest ball possible as Ezekiel's wings shown on the wall of the diner.
You stayed in that position until the door of the diner opened and Dean called your name. He let out a visible breath when you popped up. "Fuck don't hide again!" "He told me to!" you argued pointing at Ezekiel who was stabbing the last demon in the head with the demon blade. "They were going to kill him and her Dean" "Ezekiel?" Dean asked and you nodded. "What the hell did you do?" Dean pushed and Ezekiel turned to face him "I was protecting your brother and Y/N. I thought that was what you wanted" "Yeah of course, Thank you we're just still getting used to all this" you cut in and Ezekiel looked around "As am I" "Sam's ok?' you asked and Ezekiel explained that he had been knocked unconscious and in a way still was and wouldn't remember what happened. "So what the hell am I supposed to tell him when he comes to?" Dean asked and Ezekiel held the demon blade out "Which was why I used the knife"
"Right, smart" Dean took the blade then looked at you when Ezekiel spoke "You are troubled still" Dean turned back towards him "Yeah it's just that uh. Yeah this is on me. I was the one who talked Sam out of boarding up hell so every demon deal, every person they kill you're looking at the person who let it happen" "Dean" you tried but he wouldn't even look at you. "You were protecting your brother" Ezekiel offered then continued "I am in Sam's head. Everything he knows I know. and I know that what you did you did out of love"
Dean scoffed "Look Zeke, I'm gonna call you Zeke. I'm not really with the whole uh love and well love" you were standing there looking between the two of them when Ezekiel said "but it is why I said yes" "Yeah and if that goes sideways that's on me too" you finally snapped at Dean "PLEASE STOP HATING YOURSELF FOR FIVE SECONDS"
They both looked a little startled so you took a breath and said "We're trusting you Ezekiel" Dean finally shook himself out the shock of you hollering at him to say "and I just hope you're one of the good guys" "I am" Ezekiel said then added "But I suppose that's what a bad guy would say...Dean Winchester you are going the right thing" you took a deep breath and look at Ezekiel "How about letting Sam take back control? me and Dean will clean up before he wakes up" Ezekiel nodded then walked over to where Sam had been knocked out and sat back.
------
Once his head drooped over you moved to help Dean load the weapons back into the bag. Neither of you spoke until Sam started to stir.
When he groaned you made it to his side first "Sam?" "Sammy?" Dean asked helping Sam to his feet. Sam looked at you "What the hell happened?" you shrugged "You took a shot to the head, I was about to be the pinata for these asshats before Dean decided to slide in and save our asses"
Sam looked at Dean "You killed three demons, alone?" Dean shrugged "Took them by surprise. Got a little messy, I got a little lucky oh and I'm awesome so there's that" Sam looked around and you smirked when he said "You are pretty damn awesome"
You heard an engine roll up and looked out the window to see Tracy roll up in baby and looked back at Dean "She gets to drive baby and I don't?" Dean tried to explain but you simply grabbed the weapons as the three of you headed outside.
------
Tracy looked at Sam "You good?" "Yeah, more or less" and you smiled when her reply was "Good." She chunked the keys to Dean "I got everything but guess I'm late to the party" "Lucky you" you muttered and walked around to get in behind Sam as Dean said "Let's blow this toxic dump. Burgers and silkwood showers on me"
------
After you dropped Tracy off at one of her friend's houses you and the boys got back on the road. You hadn't really said much to either of them. You were thinking about Ezekiel and if he truly was a good guy. Sam was used to the way you'd get quiet sometimes but Dean had looked in the mirror about a dozen times before you finally said "Speak Dean" he shrugged "You pissed at me?"
You knew you had to look as confused as you felt so he clarified "Tracy driving baby?" you laughed "Naw if you wanted to let me drive her you would" and shrugged he looked a bit hurt so you winked at him to let him know you weren't upset about that.
------
Twenty miles from Lebanon Dean decided to stop to get Kevin some food. You were sitting in the backseat with your head leaned back while Sam checked his emails.
You glanced up when the door closest to you opened and was surprised to see Dean holding the car keys out to you "I really don't want you killing me in my sleep" you grinned and snatched them from him not risking him changing his mind.
-------
When you pulled up to the bunker and killed the engine you looked back at Dean who was watching you and smiled "Thank you" he took the keys that you were holding out and nodded "Wait, you're still staying around right?" you didn't stop to think Sam hadn't heard that conversation between you and Dean before he said "What?" you shook your head and climbed out the car "Don't worry about it Sam I'm not going anywhere any time soon."
-------
Kevin was nowhere to be found and considering Crowley killed his mom the three of you ran to the armory.
Crowley was beat up but at least not dead and neither was Kevin. "Who worked you over?" Sam asked. Crowley looked at you then said "Martin Hayward and Brandon Favors" "They did this?" you asked but he shook his head "No they're demons. Your boys wanted names, I'm giving names. They're underperformers. Spike them, You're doing me a favor"
Dean smirked "Wow, you break easy" Crowley rolled his eyes "Please, your little plan to have me stir in my own delicious juices? Pathetic. You want intel, I want things too. Maybe we can come to some kind of arrangement. Quid pro quo gentlemen" "So these names are freebies?" you asked and Crowley smiled at you "Not at all sweets. You can consider them fair trade for the enjoyment Kevin gave me" "What the hell's that supposed to mean?" You and Dean asked in unison and Crowley quirked an eyebrow at that before saying "He's my new favorite toy. Wind him up and watch him go" You glared at him "You red eyed bastard" then spun around to walk out the armory and find Kevin. You heard Dean tell Sam "Check the names, I'll help Y/N find the kid"
------
You found him packed up and trying to leave "Where are you going?" Dean asked but Kevin kept walking so you stepped in his path. "Y/N you can't keep me locked up here. I'm leaving" "Like hell" Dean said and you cut your eyes at him "Kev we told you not to talk to Crowley he messes with your head" "He said my mom was alive, that if I let him go he'd give her back"
"And you believed him?" Dean asked with a scoff. "He's still in there isn't he?" you moved to put yourself between Dean and Kevin before saying "Kev, Crowley's lying" "And if he's not?" he asked and you were glad for once that Dean answered "Than she's dead, in every way that matters anyways. We're sorry Kevin"
"I know you're dying to bolt. I get it but out that door it's angels and demons and they'd all love to get their hands on a prophet so even with Crowley here..It's still the safest place for you" you took a breath hoping you'd gotten through to the kid. "and we need you" Dean added.
It hurt your heart when Kevin assumed "Because I'm useful?" but you couldn't help but smile when Dean answered "No,because you're family. Same as Y/N. If you don't think after all we've been through together we all wouldn't die for each other man I don't know what to tell you. We're all we got but hey if none of that matters to you then I won't stop you and I won't let Y/N"
Kevin looked at you then slowly nodded "Ok" you cut your eyes at Dean "I'm gonna get him to his room then I'll come find you and Sam"
-------
You walked into the library and heard Dean telling Sam "You have helped a lot more people than you've hurt" and guessed it was due to what Tracy said so you stepped further in and Dean waved you over and sat a glass of whiskey in front of you.
You took it then sat down next to Sam. Dean looked back at him then said "All of that was then" he held up his glass so you did the same and bumped Sam's shoulder so he'd join in when Dean said "Here's to now"
You clicked your glasses against theirs then took a sip. "You both ready for it?" Sam asked so you looked at Dean who questioned "Ready for what?" "Fallens angels, Abaddon. Cas losing his halo, Crowley living in our basement"
You half laughed "Dean you invited me to move into a freakin sitcom" Dean shrugged "At least you have company?" Then turned his attention to Sam "What about you? How's the engine running?"
Sam looked between the two of you before saying "Honestly? I feel better than I have in a long time. I know it's crazy out there but I look around here and I see friends and family. I'm happier than I've been in forever. It's just things are good" Dean met your eyes and nodded "Never better"
------
Sam had already headed to bed and Dean went to check in on Kevin. You knew you wouldn't wind down for a while so you collected the books Kevin had pulled about the knights of hell and laid them out across one of the tables in the library.
You poured yourself another glass of whiskey then sat down. You were halfway through the first book when Dean cleared his throat and you glanced up to see him leaning against the doorway "I figured you went to bed" you said and held the bottle out. He took it then sat across from you "I figured you did too"
He poured a glass then reached for one of the books so you slid it across to him. The two of you read in silence for a few minutes before he called your name. You glanced up "Yeah?" "What was that about?" You weren't exactly sure what he meant so you asked "What was what about?"
He closed the book and for once there was no humor in his face when he asked "You yelling at me about not hating myself for five minutes?" Oh that was what he meant. You finally answered "You're very self deprecating Dean even worse than Sam. I can't stand it" he nodded but still pushed "Why?"
You sighed and laid the book down pulling your bottom lip between your teeth and trying to get the words right before you spoke them "You're a good man Dean. You damn near raised Sam, you have saved so many people. You have a good heart and even when you fuck up it's due to good intentions and don't start about the road to hell being paved with good intentions you know what I mean. When it comes down to it there's no one else I'd rather have to back me in a fight or as a friend" the corner of his lips ticked up in a small smirk "um thanks?" You shrugged "It's the truth. Now let's finish with these books we're currently on then I think we should head to bed" "Yours or mine?" He teased with a smirk but you knew the best way to handle Dean was to give his own medicine right back to him so you quickly fired back "Oh honey I just don't think you could handle me" and laughed at the look on his face "Yeah I can definitely see why Sam likes having you around" "oh and you don't like having me around not even in the least?" You asked and and he rolled his eyes then pushed the book you'd been reading back at you "Read your book Y/N"
You turned your attention back to the book but noticed the way he kept glancing your way for the next half hour. When you finally closed your book to head to bed you stood and stretched "See you in the morning?" He nodded "I'll be the best looking one" you shook your head with a smile then headed to your room.

Unbeta'd. All mistakes are mine.
“They lived happily ever after.” Closing the hardcover edition of Grimm’s Fairy Tale, you sneaked a glance at the little girl and sighed out loud.
“No more stories, Callie. You need to go to sleep now, sweetie.” You smiled, leaning in to kiss the top of your daughter’s head.
“Mommy. Sweep with me,” Callie looked up at you with her beautiful brown eyes. “Pwease.”
“How can I say no to this adorable face?” Tilting your head, you said. Your daughter let out an adorable giggle. You put the book away and snuggled closer to your baby girl, pulling the covers upto your chest. You gently ran your fingers through her soft hair and you slowly felt her breathing getting even as the motion of your fingers lulled her to sleep.
“She looks adorable.” The deep rumble from behind you made you jump.
“Dean.” You sucked in a deep breath, turning your head to see the green-eyed man. Callie stirred in your grasp as the sudden commotion disturbed her sleep.
“Hey it's okay. Go back to sleep. It's just Dean.” You whispered but Dean’s name jolted her awake.
“Dean?” Callie called out, her eyes wide open now.
“Hey baby girl.” Dean cooed as he moved towards her side of the bed.
“Great! Now she is fully awake and all my efforts to put her to sleep went to waste,” you faked annoyance. Dean mouthed a ‘sorry’ as he sat on the bed. Your daughter kicked the covers away as she crawled into Dean’s lap. Your heart swelled with happiness at the sight in front of you. This was all you ever wanted. A family. You stared at the flannel clad hunter as he nodded his head enthusiastically when Callie told her about the cookie incident that happened in the morning.
“So a cookie monster, huh?” Dean amused.
“Yes!” Callie nodded. “He will steal all my cookies so Mommy keeps them hidden. Dea, will you pwease fight him?”
“Fight the cookie monster?”
“Yes.”
“But he is a really bad monster. Maybe it's better to keep the cookies hidden.” Dean smiled.
“No Dea! Mommy says you fight bad people. You can fight him too!” She looked up at the man.
“Callie,” you called, “sweetie, you need to go to sleep. It's way past your bedtime.”
“But Mommy, Dea is here.” Your daughter tightened her hold on Dean's jacket, while nuzzling her face into his chest. He gave you a half shrug as he let the little girl rest in his hold.
“Cal.” You sighed. “Come on, baby. Dean had a long journey. He needs rest and so do you.” You reached for her despite knowing she wouldn't let go of the hunter very easily. When Dean had waltzed his way into your lives, he not only became an important part of you but of Callie’s too. That little girl absolutely adored him and he cared for her like his own child.
“No!” She huffed.
“Callie.” Dean nudged the girl in his arms. “How about I lie down with you and tell you about the wish monster I had to send out for a time out? Hmm? Sounds good?” She nodded.
You moved out of the bed but instead of leaving the room, you stood there at the doorway. Your lips curled up into a small smile when you saw Dean lying down with your baby girl, telling her a story of how he defeated a wish monster. Callie’s eyes widened when she heard about how Dean came face to face with him, and ordered him a timeout. His calloused hands ran up and down the girl’s back, soothing her as she slowly slipped into a deep slumber.
“That works on me too.” You smiled. He gently untangled himself for the iron holding of the girl and made his way towards you.
“Like mother, like daughter. That little devil is fully sedated,” he chuckled but something wasn't right because his laugh felt forceful. Taking his hand, you guided him towards the couch.
“Talk to me.” You whispered. He sat down on the couch, pulling you down with him. You looked him in the eye, and saw them glistening with unshed tears. Swallowing hard, he clenched his jaw tightly. “De.” You cupped his face as he looked away from you.
“I'm okay.”
“No you're not. I can see it, something’s bothering you. You are not a guy to show up here in the middle of the night. What is it?”
“Mom’s dead.” He croaked.
“What?”
“Mom. She died. I couldn't stop it.” Your heart clenched in your chest when his shoulder slumped with defeat. Your hand brushed through his unkempt hair as he leaned into your touch. “I keep on trying but I can't win. Ever.”
“I'm sorry, Dean.” Your voice wavered as your own emotions overtook you.
“All my life, I-” His voice caught in his throat. Letting out a shaky breath, he cleared his throat.
“It's okay. It's going to be okay,” you said, pulling him closer to you.
“Don't. Don't say that.” Dean gave you a small shove as he moved away from your hold. “All my life, I have been telling myself that someday it's going to be okay but it never gets better.”
“I know. I'm so sorry.” You reached out for him but he jerked his head away from your touch.
“I'm sorry, Y/N/N but I can't do this anymore.” He whispered in broken sentences.
“Do what?”
“This thing….between us. I can't live thinkin’ every second of my life that maybe a demon or-or something has got to you” You felt the air getting knocked out of you as the world around you came crashing down. You stared at the man in front of you, dumbfounded.
“A-are you breaking u-up with me? Why?” You breathed out.
“Yes.” His curt reply infuriated you. He was throwing away two years of relationship. You needed more than just a simple yes.
“Why did you come here tonight? Please don't say you came all the way to here in the middle of the night just to end things with me?” He kept quiet which only confirmed your worst thought.
“Why?” You begged.
“I needed to see you and Cal one last time.”
“Don't leave. We are happy. Is there something I did? I'll make it up to you. We can get through this.”
“Don't you see? I am a danger to your life. Staying with me is like signing your own death warrant and Callie’s. I need to get away as far as possible to keep you safe. You have done nothing wrong. It's all me. I still love you so much.”
“No. This is not true. I am safe with you. After Callie’s dad left us, I felt like I was drowning but meeting you was like coming up for fresh air. Don't you see? You saved me.” You reasoned.
“I want to be your protector, sweetheart, not your executioner and I can't protect you if the people around me keep dropping like flies.” Dean stole a glance and saw the tears roll down your cheek. It broke his heart to see you like that but he knew what had to be done. He needed to let you go.
“I am still here. Callie's still here. We will be fine.” You said.
“What if something actually happens? That's a risk I'm not willing to take.” He whispered, locking his eyes with yours.
“When does the great Dean Winchester ever back down from a challenge?” You scoffed. His eyes hardened at the question.
“There is no challenge here. I'm trying to keep you and Callie safe because if I lose you, I'll be gone.” He replied, averting his gaze.
“What about Callie?”
“She is just a child. She won't remember me.” He said and stood up. Tears were flowing freely down your cheek. He turned towards, leaning down to press his lips against yours. “I love you but this is for the best. You deserve a good man not some running-from-the-law, monster killing machine. You need someone who will stay with you forever, not a man whose life is always on stake. You deserve so much better.”
“You are the man I want. I don't want anyone else,” You cried out. “You are my happily ever after. Please stay. I love you.”
“It's going to be painful but you will eventually get over me.” He said firmly. He had made up his mind. There was no turning back now. He looked at you carefully, as if he was trying to memorise your face. You tried to touch his face. He took your hand into his. Giving you a chaste kiss for one last time, he walked away from you towards the door.
“If you walk out of that door now, it's over for us.” You told him.
“I know. I'm sorry.” Dean Winchester said as he walked out of that door leaving you behind with the pieces of your broken heart lying at your feet. A sob tore through your throat as you wondered how you would tell your baby girl that Dean wasn't ever coming back.
Maybe happily ever after didn't really exist in the real world afterall.

samruby, deancas, and samcas pls
sorry i went to sleep and then had to think about this lol <3 thanks for the ask, love you sil
and OOF if you're asking so nicely i'll ramble on about supernatural..... but, i'm gonna, take the can of worms that is deancas and answer an anon (later) instead of dumping it all here, i'll tag you!!
samcas: starting with this one because i'll handle it quickly. more quickly. it doesn't interest me much, because i don't feel anything in particular about cas ? :( i can see an appeal somewhere, i see the appeal in all pairings with sam! tbh! an angel and lucifer's vessel sounds nice, they would make each other better in the long run imo. kind of, less toxic than anything i'm ever interested in. that's nice, good for them for real, i like the concept, in a parallel universe i'm a samcas enthusiast. but i somehow don't care about castiel enough to be invested, maybe..... am sorry. rating is not tragic or obsessive enough
samruby: :)) sexy bc blood drinking is inherently sexual, also for other reasons (they were clearly into each other like i can see the real-life connection right there on the screen c'mon. also thematically sexy lol), and i love manipulation. love me a doomed romance type thing! actually i thought about them for a couple minutes and now i'm crying!! so that's normal. i love them, they're interesting in canon and i've never really felt the urge to fill any holes with uhh fan content. samruby feeds me well as it is 🥴 continuing beneath the cut because i can't shut the fuck up
so the tragedy, that i feel normal and not crazy about, what really gets to me is ruby, i think she loved sam as much as a demon could love. he was the path to her god, she saw his destiny and not who he really was, or wanted to be. it's heartbreaking that she gifted sam power when he felt, was powerless, when he was virtually at his lowest, alone completely, and she did what she thought was the best thing she could do for him. and it's even,, something sam had struggled with, constantly, up to that point, the demon blood, something rotten in him. he needed to believe he's not rotten, that's how this ties into the tragedy of sam's life. i think. ruby was there to mold him into the literal antichrist, the role he was meant to play, when he needed someone to depend on, and sam never recovered. the rest of his life, that addiction haunted him, the darkness of that, the impurity, she made it so sam's worst fear or maybe just one of his worst would be confirmed: he'd never be clean.
i really liked it when someone on here said ruby trapped sam in a monstrous prophecy. he didn't even get the chance to be good, to prove himself, And sam's relationship with ruby put a strain on his relationship with his brother, who's the most important to him :/ and sam lost trust in himself, his own judgment, that might be hurting me the most, he made his own choices and did the best he could in absence of dean and the consequences were like, beyond dire. i think something was permanently broken there. that depresses me because i feel for this fictional guy very deeply. ruby was at the center of this, although it wasn't quite.. her fault? like of course she didn't orchestrate all that, she was just a player and she has a background and i see where she was coming from. i can empathize
ruby thought she was building sam up, and she ruined him. but was there love? they needed each other. i think they liked each other, too? there could've been something more, in, um other circumstances... if what they wanted didn't differ so.. drastically. but that's all tragedies, isn't it?? it hurts because of what could've been. anyway, samruby is sooo compelling to me
#ask#i didn't mention communion. that aspect's sex c too i would say. like he drank her blood O_O nice#spn
