My comic is so pretty...

The hiatus is letting me take a little extra time on these episodes, and I'm definitely putting it to good use!!!

#almost done with my 8th episode... which will give me. two weeks. of buffer...#id really like at LEAST a month... but to be more comfortable id like two #which means 2-6 more episodes before I come back!#I've got about 7 weeks so its possible. but i do still have to finish book 4 #so much to do ..........#I decided for my next comic im doing 3 updates a month.#having 10 days instead of 7 to make an episode is such a huge huge huge difference...#difference in quality and in my health!#anyways the comic is really pretty im really happy with the work im doing rn #the environments especially. im getting to spend a nice amount of time on them and theyre turning out so nicely #its nice to be able to write with a lot of different environments and not have to redo panels when I get to them cause of time #cause every time theres a wild angle? you need a new background...#so sometimes. often actually. there just isnt the time to make the backgrounds for those and i have to make them more flat...#which is fine. it doesnt really affect anything narratively. but. idk. it's kinda sad right?#anyways yeah! 10 days will be much better.#36 episodes a year is about what ive been uploading with my hiatuses on the weekly schedule anyways!#so might as well cut out that super stressful middleman and just commit to that #52 a year is just such a huge difference and i have to accept its not possible to me #i will hurt myself trying to do that. and i want to make comics my whole life!#so i cant push myself that hard now and sacrifice my future. we're gonna go slower after this...#anyways yeah cant wait to come back but also time. if I could get an extra week like a secret one just for me #where theres no chores no nothin just me and my work #thatd be great! so go ahead and do what you gotta do to give me a little pocket dimension #me: ugh i want to return right now...#the more logical me: NO we need the time to finish everything!!!!!! people are discoursing about the laios and shiro fight bc that was always going to happen but i do hope that wave crests quickly and we can all come to see it as what it is: literally one of the best written fights between two people who are both entirely justified in their actions and acting without any malice or cruelty of all time

#theres a tendency - especially in action and faction based media (which a lot of fantasy is or is in dialogue with) - to depict fights only #as happening between someone who Is Right and someone who Is Wrong #and getting to see a full on beatdown between two dudes who are both acting in an entirely understandible way and who both dont actually #want to hurt the other at all - to the extent where their desire to maintain a positive relationship with each other is the SOURCE of their #conflict in the first place - is just so cathartic to see #like unpopular opinion but sometimes you do just need to Fight someone to work through issues youre having #like irl i would not recommend that extent of Force obviously #but if you're two people in a situation where neither has active power over the other sometimes the healthiest option involves expressing #and receiving genuine anger that is not filtered through a social buffer #like sometimes you just need to yell that someone is pissing you off by how much they invade ur time and space and sometimes you need to #yell that someone is sabotaging your ability to interact with them by not expressing any discomfort with your behaviour ever #AND MOST IMPORTANTLY SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO BE YELLED AT #BECAUSE it sucks. it sucks to experience and until you can both share that space of feeling awful with each other youre not gonna get past #it and you're not gonna understand each other's pain #i think they're both wonderfully well written characters and its a testament to their depth as people that i can so easily understand why #and how both of them are behaving the way they do #im still only like halfway through the manga but it is like my favourite character interaction scene so far #fred says a thing #dunmeshi

KateKevAaron cohabiting and Katelyn and Kevin automatically putting things up on high shelves just because that’s where there’s space/they’re things they use less etc without considering Aaron can’t fucking reach the top shelf

Aaron constantly having to haul himself onto the counters to reach things down (and also things going unused/buying duplicates frequently because if he can’t see what’s on the top shelf he forgets it exists)

Katelyn gets him a little foldable kitchen step and she even gets it in green for him but it’s too late he’s been a counter climber all his life (and who even has the patience to go get a step every time you need something!!)

Of course if she’s present she offers to get it down for him (he’ll allow this). Kevin thinks it’s funny to watch him struggle but he’ll step in sometimes as an excuse to press himself against Aaron (Aaron is less accepting of Kevin’s help and will try and race him to grab said item because he can dO IT HIMSELF OK)

Basically Aaron Minyard being a victim of his considerably taller partners 😔 extra suffering as he’s the main cook in their house

#he gets the best snuggles from his gazelle and flamingo lovers tho #they’ll change sleeping positions every so often so no one feels left out but they put Aaron in the middle a lot #as he gets cold easiest #and also he tends to have more doubt about their relationship and if he deserves both of them #so they like to sandwich them in reassurance #Kevin runs hot so he likes to be able to stick a leg out the side of the bed if needs be #Katelyn sometimes likes to cuddle her fave stuffed toy too so she likes having a free arm #also Kevin snores really loud and while she’s used to it now it’s not always great when he’s lying right against her ear #let Aaron be the buffer for that #Katelyn spooning Aaron spooning Kevin but because he’s shorter she can tangle her legs with Kevin’s as well #having Thoughts about them again #KateKevAaron

I am getting so fed up with myself I just can't get myself to do anything

#like this is always a problem for me but it has been so bad lately #fear I need to be medicated but in typical me fashion I procrastinated calling the clinic I'm trying to go to for like 6 months #only got around to doing it like a month ago and they seem to have extremely long waitlist so I don't even know #if I'll be able to get an appointment before the summer #and if I don't I feel like I'll be completely fucked because my intention is to start studying fr in the autumn #and I want to try medication before then in the quite likely case that it won't work and will make me feel terrible #so that I don't have to deal with all that while starting studying #I just want to have things sorted by then but ofc that won't happen because I'm fucking useless and can't do anything #and the mental health care system in this region is so deeply fucking broken #and noting ever works out easily when it comes to me and medications #this has been a four year long journey and nothing has worked so far #also fear that when I made the application I didn't make my issues sound bad enough and they put me like last in the list #I mean I did say I was a student which sometimes makes you a priority but idek #anyways all this to say it's 17.30 and I've done nothing productive or enjoyable all day I've just been like buffering #and I've been like this nearly every day for the last several weeks and it's making me feel like a fucking waste of space #in general things are just Not Good right now #I've been sick for an entire month and I still feel like shit and I'm just so tired of everything #personal #and my fucking teeth hurt again GOD
