A little bit of Hollow Knight in your Star Wars

I wanted something simple, yet emotional. I think i like it. It was a bit difficult to distribute the characters among the verses. Some fit perfectly, while others have to be interpreted. Like, "the lady, lovely and pale" suited Padme well too, but i choose "the writer" because of, well, a broken heart (i guess you can interpret the senator as a writer, in some sense?). "The sage and his sons all three" was also good for Yoda and his lineage (Dooku, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan). That's why I didn't take the last verse, because I couldn't find suitable characters for it (you can write your own ideas if you want).

But otherwise, I like the result.

This sounds like the makings of a really good fanfic. Of which I will not write because I'll probably fuck it up. I also never thought about Asian-decent Max before. (I headcanon him as Hispanic) Also, burning down the tree with the cat in it, I'm deceased.

Sam and Max dreams: Extra long yap edition

I had a dream where Sam and Max had a new game coming out. This was the plot:

Sam's egregiously stereotyped Irish parents and Max's very abusive (and equally racistly depicted) Asian parents came to visit their boys one day, out of the blue. Sam and Max panic. Why? Because their parents are horribly homophobic and don't know Sam and Max are married. The two sets of parents refuse to leave their respective son's side, to make sure the other doesn't "try anything funny" (and by that they mean they suspect the other child to be gay, but not their perfect child. Oh no, not them. They raised them to be better than that) they come along on every mission and make it two thousand times harder than it needs to be just by being themselves. Cat stuck in a tree? Max's mom sets the tree on fire because she hates cats. Presidential debate? They're both sharing their respective kid's greatest fears and weaknesses the candidate can exploit via embarrassing stories from their son's childhood.

Anyways, the ending of the game has Sam and Max in a life or death situation, where out of fear for their incoming demise, They announce their love to each other. After surviving the encounter, their parents are so moved by the display of true love that they decide for the good of their children they'll try their best to be less homophobic. The end.

I would love to see what name for this game y'all come up with. Sam and Max: double the trouble? Sam and Max: a queer catastrophe? I'm sure y'all will do a much better job than I could

Miyuki sometimes carries Zuko/Spirit around like a kitten when they're still small.

It's slightly annoying when they steal her favorite sun spot. But they caught a mouse for her as an apology.

The soldiers that come to the herbalist are very concerned about the new pet, that reacts to the same name as her kid that keeps disappearing for some reason.

The fact that obimaul isn't a more popular ship makes me crazy. How do more people not see it.

They're narrative foils. Maul survives a killing blow because the thought of Kenobi kept him alive, and what is obsession but a mirror of devotion? The trajectory of their lives is extraordinary similar until the Same Duel sends them shooting off into opposite directions and defines them both for decades. A duel that teaches Obi-Wan the feeling of revenge that will haunt Maul the rest of his life. Obi-Wan was the apprentice who was never wanted. Maul was wanted too much. Obi-Wan overcame his trauma, but Maul never could. Both rebellious by nature, forced into the mold of the Perfect Example of their respective orders, and yet they have the same failing - Maul, desperate for companionship from ANYBODY, and Obi-Wan who struggles with his attachment to the people he loves. Both forced into exile by the same man who destroyed their lives and orders. They've hurt each other in unimaginable ways and yet understand each other like no one else can.

"The only one allowed to kill you is me" but isnt that just another way of asking live for me? Who is your rival but your purpose? Is there not a tenderness in the eyes of your worst enemy who has seen you at your absolute lowest and still needs you to get back up? Because without you, what are they?
