okay I've finished making my big spreadsheet of how mp100 characters refer to each other! some thoughts on this under the cut because it got long

the Kageyama brothers are very polite in how they refer to people. their parents must have really instilled etiquette into them bc no one else is as consistent about using polite honorifics/titles as they are. the only people Mob doesn't give an honorific/title are his brother and Dimple, and the only people Ritsu doesn't give an honorific are Dimple and Shou, who he just calls "Suzuki"

Reigen, on the other hand, is pretty inconsistent and casual with his use of honorifics. he says "Mob-kun" a couple times and "Ritsu-kun" once, but usually they're just Mob and Ritsu (or "Mob's brother" lmao). the only honorific he consistently uses is "Tome-chan"

it's infrequent, but both Reigen and Dimple refer to Mob as "my boy" at some point :') he's their boy!

Ritsu doesn't refer to the Awakening Lab kids at all until he asks their names after being kidnapped lmao the only exception is when he calls out to the older Shiratori brother after the younger one is taken away and he calls him "Shiratori-kun." considering the fact that after asking their names, he refers to both of them as Daichi-kun and Kaito-kun, I think there was absolutely a moment when everyone was freaking out about the Shiratori brothers where he was like "ohhhhh that's his name"

also he switches from "Onigawara-san" to "Onigawara-senpai" when he realizes he's friends with his brother lmao fakeass

even though Mob starts calling Teru "Hanazawa-kun" as soon as they exchange names, Teru doesn't give him the honorific until they decide to raid Claw together. I guess that's the point when he decides they're friendly enough for it? he calls Ritsu "brother-kun" as soon as he realizes they're related and never refers to him by his actual name

everyone calls Teru some variation on his nickname EXCEPT Mob and Dimple. Dimple actually only calls him "brat" and "that guy" for a while until he managed to track him down again during the alleyway incident, which I realized is because he was exorcised before learning Teru's name lskdjflkdsf from the Seventh Division arc onwards, he just calls him "Hanazawa"

I love that Dimple tries to refer to the brothers with cutesy nicknames and both of them are like "if you do that again I'm killing you all the way dead" and he's like "understood." and then refers to them by given name from then on lmao

Teru refers to Dimple as "Dimple-kun" and Tome calls him "Dimple-chan," both of which are SO funny to me because he's way older than them. rude as hell, this evil spirit deserves no respect

Shou doesn't use honorifics or titles for ANYONE. Ritsu is just Ritsu, the Ultimate 5 are all their last names, his dad is just Pops. he also exclusively refers to Mob as "Ritsu's brother" dkfjldskfj

Serizawa alternates between "Shigeo-kun" and "Kageyama-kun" with no real rhyme or reason to it. just seems to depend on his mood I guess

it was a long day of traveling with you at his side. when you two finally find a rest stop to spend the night at, you crash into the bed, falling asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow. later on into the early evening, rantaro wakes up to the sound of your snores. he's alright with it because he knew how exhausted you were...he pulls you closer to him and falls back asleep with you. you'll need all the rest you can get if you're going to explore more tomorrow.

Random details and notes that don't really fit anywhere. Mostly about the fanart:

Kaito is 1 year older than Shin and is taller than him

This scene is set over the Haido City hotel. In the distance you can see Shiriyomi Trust Hotel (can't full recognise it behind Kaito but I assure you I drew it lol), Tokyo tower (easy to spot) and Roppongi Hills Mori Tower (Just behind Shin on the right, the one with the lights in a --u-- shape) Main reference: https://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Haido_City_Hotel

I was also screaming at the Kaishin pic in ED70 throughout this LMAO.

Kaito breaks through Shinichi's mysterious KID persona in this drawing and Shinichi shyly reveals his face behind the mask. Kaito then produces a blue flower, claiming it matches Shinichi's beautiful eyes (he's also the one who bred it)

Kaito has extra pockets sewn into his uniform to carry more tricks. This wasn't really necessary in canon, but here, Kaito has to be prepared to investigate at any moment.

Lmao help me render hair *stares at Kaito's* Cool effect but not quite right. I need to go experiment later.

Kaito/Shin getting shrunk (aka Conan situation) never happens in this au. But Haibara and the other victims are still around. Haibara still lives at the professor's.

Background:

Yusaku was much more entangled and involved with Toichi and his fight with the Black Org. Side note but in this au, Snake is from a division of the Black Org

As a result, they both end up being killed during the fateful accident. Yes, both Shinichi and Kaito are there for it. They were going to be introduced to each other on that day, but well,,, we can see the way it ended.

It wasn't well known that the Kuroba and Kudo family were close at all. Extra vigilance was taken after the funerals to ensure their safety. Their families parted ways for the better or worse after thsi event.

Yusaku's and Toichi's friendship/rivalry included collaborating for some heists, having a second secret base in the Kudo mansion, and Yusaku donning the Night Baron costume... even if he was just hidden in a car and sending information to Toichi via an earpiece lol.

After their husbands' deaths, Yukiko and Chikage meet up occasionally and travel together in secret.

Shinichi:

Shinichi never became a famous detective. The years after Yusaku died in the tragic accident, Yukiko and him tried their best to move on with varying success. Shinichi's dream to become a famous detective never came to fruition.

This was because for various reasons including not having Yusaku's guiding hand to develop Shin's detective skills, was only being taken to crime scenes for a year, and of course the trauma.

After avoiding detective work as much as he could (well considering that he's still a corpse magnet), Shinichi finally starts to dig through his memories. From then, he uncovered a strange inconsistency with the logic of his father's death and starts to obsess over the idea that it was a murder.

Shin painstakingly and slowly investigates in the shadows with his *ehem* admittedly rusty detective skills and chases after the very little crumbs left by the organisation. What he uncovers is that the accident wasn't one at all, but premeditated murder by an encompassing third party.

Shinichi finally finds a lead to,,, Jii Konosuke. This takes quite a few years, and Shinichi is 15 when he confronts Jii.

Jii reveals everything after Shinichi's deduction and also mistaking him for Kaito. And such Shinichi is brought into the fold. Shinichi also makes up his mind to take on the KID mantle, greatly sympathising with the fellow teen whose father was also involved.

The years after Shinichi uncovers the truth, he learns many skills such as disguise, acting and magic from Jii and Chikage. However, his magic skills will never be on par with Kaito's.

Shinichi in this au has more acting and disguise skills from living with his mother. She passed this skills onto him, and they bonded over it to recover from their grief.

When Shinichi is 17, he officially takes on the role of KID. Chikage permanently locked the KID cave in the Kuroba house, and the KID cave settled in its new home in the Kudo mansion. Inside the second base previously used by Toichi and Yusaku.

Shinichi as KID:

Well, he's just as dramatic as Kaito in canon, but it's a different kind of dramatic. Shin is more of a mysterious and cryptic phantom thief and wears a menacing Night Baron mask. He overall speaks less, and when he does, he says a lot of dramatic lines. Like in theatre almost, with plenty of double meanings.

He takes on a lot of aspects from the Phantom Lady and Jii's interpretation of KID.

And also, I was inspired by the Black Knight, Shiragami in canon, and AngelicSentinel's fantastic fic, Heart of Eternity. I guess you could describe it as more theatrely, cool and princely. He's still very athletic (laughing at Shinichi being Tarzan as Shiragami)

Unlike Kaito, Shin's notices often involve cryptic riddles. It satisfies Shinichi's puzzle loving side and adds to his mysterious reputation.

It's funny to me how Akako's 'Demon of Light' moniker is still accurate haha

Shinichi investigates a little in the shadows and is overall a touch more hot-headed than Kaito KID

He uses a lot more gadgets to cover for his lesser magic skills. He's still learning though! A lot of them are references to Conan's and KID's in canon. Between Jii and Agasa, he gets a lot of them haha. This includes:

Mask/monocle -> voice changer, mask to cover for poker face, zoom and night vision, tracker, microphone and radio, gas mask.

Transmitter/microphone -> button stickers, bugs in general, cufflinks. In some cases, a camera but it must be asked for first. Shin uses these to cover for Kaito's doves in canon.

Wristwatch -> Clock of course for his heist times, tranquilliser, emergency flashbomb (KID has one in canon too)

Shoes -> jet powered rollerskates (equivalent to skateboard). Of course, Shin still kicks things but it looks more to take down the occasional criminal, trigger emergency traps, and more. He doesn't kick often because it doesn't really suit the image of KID + it's a unique skill to have.

+ other usual KID gadgets -> smoke, flash, sleeping bombs, grapple gun, hang glider, etc.

Kaito:

He's still an aspiring magician

Since there's a rising amount of cases in Beika, Kaito gets recommended by Nakamori because of his magic skills. The idea is that his knowledge of magic tricks will help uncover the criminals' tricks... Well this includes basically all cases lol. It works though! And the news of Meitantei Kaito starts to spread.

Kaito falls in love with the dramatics and triumphs of figuring out a criminal's trick. He starts to get called into Beika every time a case is discovered. One different to Shin is that Kai gets called to the cases instead of the cases coming to him.

His detective persona is like KID's in canon - flirty, dramatic, confident, charming, a bit of a pervert, and a classic showman's personality. Aoko is sick of it hahaha.

Kai's deduction show is very dramatic. He uses flashy magic tricks to reveal evidence and tricks, and uses his magic to take down criminals.

This includes his acrobatics, trusty card gun and traps he set beforehand. I like to headcanon that Kaito invented his cardgun first before integrating into KID. Kaito's cardgun includes the normal sharp cards (Kaito uses it to pin down criminals with their clothes, cut ropes, etc), tranquilliser laced cards, smoke and flash bombs. And also sleeping bombs but he uses it vary sparingly because even that toes the law a little too much... Megure is exasperated but the criminals are taken down quickly without much harm so he lets it slide

Kaito also follows in the spirit of dubious investigation. He changes his voice, uses his doves to spy on others, uses disguises (very very rarely), and is noisy overall.

Kaito and Hakuba:

Has a detective rivalry with Hakuba.

Hakuba still thinks, even in this au, that Kaito is KID. After all, Shin's profile is very similar to Kaito's. Kaito vehemently denies it but acts like a KID fan around Hakuba to annoy him. He isn't really though, citing KID's magic to be third rate, but he is still intrigued.

Hakuba offhandedly slips in wording and insinuations to Kaito's huge annoyance. You can imagine them bickering at a crime scene while Megure is just Too Used to this.

Much later on, when Kaito learns Shinichi's identity, Kaito tells Shinichi's about Hakuba's warnings. So Kaito is kinda a messenger between the two. Despite Hakuba being annoying, Kaito knows he can trust him.

~ Other character interactions:

Shinichi and Kaito:

Shinichi is still a corpse magnet. So he encounters a case, calls the police, and escapes as fast as he can after giving a witness statement. This is partly to avoid the awkwardness of meeting Megure and the police officers (he hasn't met them since his father died), as well as his new night job.

This results in the most frustrating yet amusing situation where Shin and Kaito miss meeting each other for quite a few years. Shinichi is busy hurrying off while Kaito is called to the scene and busy listening to the details.

Quick sketch I may/may not fully finish in the future:

Description: Set in suburban Beika. Shinichi is at the foreground, looking at his watch and worrying about meeting Jii on time. Meanwhile, next to a police car, Megure merrily discusses case details to Kaito. Kaito is glancing over to Shinichi in curiosity while keeping an ear open. He has his hands in his pockets. Behind Megure, the scene has police tape barring entrance.

Kaito thinks KID is a third rate magician but can appreciate the dramatics and mysteriousness. He is Intrigued. This leads to a meeting later on. Kaito uses his connection to Nakamori.

Shinichi is of course startled by Kaito's namedrop.

... Sorry no more details/plan about their meeting. It's definitely a dramatic face off though.

Regarding Shinichi's identity reveal, I was playing around with the idea that Snake is there, threatening the two at gunpoint and sneering over the '"lovely family reunion between father and son". It would definitely spur Kaito to grill Shin for more details

Shinichi and Hattori:

Hattori hears about the "Meitantei of the East" and goes off to meet him and challenge him to a deduction battle. He doesn't know how to contact him, so he goes with the strat of wandering around Beika until he runs into a case. He figured that with the high rate of cases being reported, he's eventually run into Kuroba ,,, yeah hahahaha Thats his entire plan

Luckily for Hattori, his detective luck exponentially multiplies with Shin's and a scream runs out. As Shinichi is reporting the crime and tried to head off, Hattori slings an arm around his shoulders to stop him from sneaking off.

Hattori loudly greets him as Kuroba despite Shinichi's insistence that "No, I am NOT Kuroba, please get your arm off me". Insert much scepticism from Hattori.

Even after they part ways, this isn't the last they see of each other. Hattori keeps wandering around Beika while running into Shinichi. They eventually become friends huhu.

Shinichi and the Detective Boys:

The Detective Boys admire Kaito a lot. Obviously they've watched the news reports on TV. So when they see him at the park playing soccer, they glomp him HAHAH Poor Shinichi

At this point I think people mistaking Shinichi as Kaito can be a running gag. The Detective Boys keep annoying Shinichi and even attempt breaking into the 'Edo house' to see the ghosts... Shinichi is still not happy. And also, when they visit Haibara, they're basically next doors so Shinichi's never going to get them out of his life.

Despite the annoyance, he eventually becomes fond of them and takes on the big brother sort of role.

When Kaito and Shinichi get acquainted, they take the DB on outings a lot. The DB is very fond of Kaito-nii-san and Shinichi-nii-san.

Also from the same au only differences is kaito inclusion meaning that's right, heikaishin, meaning kaito gets in the middle of this bc heiji is task on killing kaiou kid while shinichi is saving kid from not getting murder by heiji bc be likes his "shows" also funfact heiji does get him by his hat (just like just like in the beginning the evil fight like points M27 big smiles) and a bit more if you will (HE DOESNT LOSES HIS EYE TRUST JUST A LOT OF NIKS FROM HEIJI SWORD...) and then you got kaito going like there's no way I like two guys who's somewhat out to kill me...

LIKEE i already have the relationship chart in my head like idk how you type it out with out looking like a big mess but overall you do get some solo actions from the guys,like one of the scene is just ig heikai in the sense of heiji legitimate scouting out the layout before a kid heist starts and kaito and aoko is there and you got aoko point out heiji and does a comment to kaito like you should pick him up lmao and kaito is like insane. Stop meddling in my nonexistent love life! (He tries his shot 😔 heiji says flattered but no lmaoo BUT KAITO DOES WIN AT THE END!!) or a ig kaishin moment but more shinkai me thinks waves hand around shinichi calling kaito kid his dove and how he would like murder everyone who trys to "ruin" his shows which kaito is flattered but also scared like insane...also said I'll see you around moment me thinks and then one big whole nods nods kaito has two hands to hold his two very dangerous and highly qualified murders who loves him very much!!

So basically, as an assassin, nobody really treats her like an actual human. And because she doesn't hide her talent, most people in the killing game don't trust her either. Shuichi, however, is one of the first people in her life to treat her like a human and not just some murderer. She eventually develops a crush on him, but doesn't really understand what it's like to have a crush on somebody, which leads to her being very confused about her feelings on him.

Shuichi sees her and is able to tell that she isn't happy with what she does in life. As an artist who tries to make uplifting, happy art, but only gets praised for his depressing art, he relates to her. He tries his hardest to make her happy in his own shy ways, and eventually falls for her. (Kaito is also pretty much Shuichi's wingman here, and tries to get them together a lot of the time (he usually makes Maki help too))

also they both try flirting at one point, but are both so bad at it it's pathetic lmao (and also yeah i love making kaede taller it works so well for them)

Another KID episode! Time for KID's Teleportation Magic!

I make it a habit to rewatch every new OP to see them but I hate the ones that push the romance between Shinichi and Ran. Yes, I know their relationship is a plot of this anime, but it's terrible and the OPs are giving people a false expectation of what it's actually like. Well, at least it had Kaito in it so that made it a little better. As much as I love seeing Kaito in the OPs I will not be watching that one again.

Anyway, time to focus on the amazing episode that this is!

Lol, they're discussing plans to present the jewels and one of them said put it in a block of ice. Well, you eventually do get a chance to use that plan, doesn't work though XD

Jirokichi is going to have a heart attack because of Kaito one day.

If Sonoko isn't the first one to clock that Shinichi has a massive crush on KID in fanfics I don't want it. She adores KID herself, she knows the signs.

Kaito is doing what he does best, performing in front of adoring fans, including his dear husband who is much harder to impress but he still always succeeds in doing so everytime.

Jirokichi, you could have killed someone with that net XD

Ok so, survive kids play uno, chaos id assume

Like, kaito and miu cheating together, ryo is raging because he keeps getting skipped, aoi and takuma trying but failing to calm everyone. Stuff like that

A long time ago I hced that Minoru and Kaito have been banned from group game nights after trying to kill each other over Uno and now I feel the need to make this post somehow reach that conclusion alkdfjakj

I love the idea that Takuma would legitimately accidentally keep screwing Minoru over just because they sat next to each other. Like his only card that's a matching color is a +2, or he'll accidentally change the color before Minoru can put a card down. He keeps apologizing, even offers to skip his own turn because he feels so bad. Unfortunately Minoru is now out for blood.

You're so big brained ngl it would be so funny if Miu and Kaito looked at each other's cards and were purposely trying to help each other (e.g. changing the color to what the other needs if they get a wild card, or holding onto +4 cards until the rotation changes so they only get the others sitting next to them and not each other). They're not above screwing each other over if they have to put a card down, though. They both still wanna win.

The same way Takuma keeps accidentally giving Minoru cards, Shuuji keeps accidentally skipping Ryo. Saki, on the other hand, is purposely skipping Ryo because she thinks it's funny watching him slowly lose his mind. He picked the wrong two people to sit between.

Aoi tries to be a peacekeeper and be like maybe you should try to hold onto your next skip card until someone plays a reverse even though she's the one sitting on Saki's other side and would be the one getting skipped. Unfortunately, the offer is so sweet that Saki is only more unwilling to skip her, and the net result is Ryo getting hit by even more skips and reverses. He hasn't put down or even picked up a single card in ten minutes.

Everyone thought Ryo would be the first one to flip his shit UNTIL Minoru ends up getting Miu with a +4 that he was trying to save for Takuma, but someone played a reverse and he ran out of cards that matched the current color. So now MIU is out for blood.

Sibling cheating mode increases bc now Kaito is purposely setting Miu up to keep hitting Minoru with +2 and skip cards (drawing cards even if he already has the right color just to change it to the color Miu needs). Bc of course he would throw the game if meant getting at back at the person who +4'ed his sister. Minoru catches on and tries to call him on it, but he keeps denying it.

Minoru completely forgets operation "vengeance against Takuma" and starts targeting Miu instead (he would go after Kaito, but he's sitting too far away, and Takuma won't help him cheat), which swiftly leads to The Incident that gets him and Kaito banned from game night.

First, your take: The Mahiru and Hiyoko dynamic is funky cause I feel like after getting out of the program Hiyoko does like. A dumb amount of reflection y'know?? Works on herself a lot. We'll ignore my rant this time and next is what Komaeda anon added: I feel like Hiyoko starts hanging out with Fuyuhiko n Peko too to work through her character growth as Fuyu himself went through a similar process, but still for the most part, hangs with Koizumi, just in a more stable way. Koizumi probably taking Maki in also helps Hiyoko really fill in her shoes in becoming an adult since I feel like Maki n Hiyoko have some similarities that they could talk about? Not sure how to word it exactly. I think it's the way these two handle situations in a more hostile way than others that lets them bond as they work through on how to Not do that if I'm making sense??

Next we have Shinichi.

The guy doesn't eat well, he stays up late or goes to cases sick, he has a reputation for being socially awkward.

Between the two, the inspector prefers Hakuba, he doesn't like him very much, but he is a decent person.

The problem? KAITO PREFERS SHINICHI. LOVES HIM.

It makes me laugh a lot, if the inspector actively gets involved and sets up dates or meetings with Hakuba just to keep Shinichi away. LMAO, Kaito pretends like he doesn't see it, but he's really the one who goes looking for it.

It makes me laugh to imagine their relationship this way:

They like Romeo and Juliet, but Papa Nakamori doesn't try to kill him, Papa Nakamori actively tries to save his "harmless" and "sweet" son from the clutches of the evil detectives.

I like to think that Mr. Nakamori would treat anyone (other than his daughter) who tried to date Kaito the same way Mr. Mori treats anyone who tried to date Ran.

So you can imagine Shinichi/Saguru faces when Mr. Nakamori gives a stern talk about "Just because you are a high school detective. That doesn't mean I will hand you my son that easily."

Another Great Idea From Yours Truely

So basically imagine a ghost au of Danganronpa V3 except with the twist that Shuichi can see the ghosts (shocking I know)

So basically it goes like Shuichi became the Ultimate Detective because the ghost of the person who died told him everything they knew and Shuichi (still clever as hell don’t get me wrong) just put the rest of the pieces together and was like ‘hey uh. It was that guy right?’ And everybody lost their bananas

And so he became the Ultimate Detective wHICH IS WHY HE DOESNT THINK HE DESERVES HIS ULTIMATE ITS BECAUSE HE WAS PRACTICALLY HANDED THE ANSWER ON A SILVER PLATTER

And with the first murder he asks Rantaro like ‘hey who killed you?’ and unfortunately Rantaro was too confused with his sudden death know shit so he has to go the normal route of Sleuthing to figure it out (or maybe Rantaro knew something but not quite enough to change anything due to ✨plot convenience✨)

Kaede is a ghost now (do I see a ghostly figure playing Claire De Lune?) and probably apologizes to Rantaro and he kinda half-forgives her because he understands where she’s coming from but like. Bruh

But then come Chapter 2 (Electric Boogaloo) he meets Ryoma’s ghost (maybe even before they find the body if you’re feeling ~spicy~) and he’s like ‘alright who killed you’ and Ryoma like knows but he would probably be like ‘hah I got what I wanted, I’m not telling you shit’ which would be very annoying

But that would be yet another excuse to keep things on track, so not much changes (because Rantaro and Kaede are probably following Shuichi around so they wouldn’t know more than him) and Kirumi dies and does nOT in fact apologize because that would be a ✨lie✨ (and boy aren’t we fond of those)

Now this is where things may or may not start getting off the road paved for us; Ryoma will probably stay depressed and look for a way to die again (maybe idk? Let me know if I’m getting his character absolutely wrong it’s been a while) but Kirumi could go two ways. Either she could 1) stay in the crazed state she was driven to in the trial or 2) see reason and chill tf out

If 1, she’ll probably go in a similar enough route as Ryoma where she’s trying to get out of the confines of the killing game, possess someone, or die again so she can reincarnate (or something, etc etc, I’m spitballing here) meaning she won’t be useful to Shuichi finding the killers.

Conversely, 2; she will chill out and help Shuichi with stuff he asks of her (staking places out, haunting people in because they’re likely to be murdered or murder, see who leaves their dorms at night, etc, still spitballing) and maybe help find a killer or two!

Either way, Angie dies and she’d probably be a bit miffed that she wasn’t able to meet Atua just yet but she’s chill so she’d probably assume it’s part of Atua’s Plan or smth idk

Although she’d probably know it was Korekiyo who killed her, which would make keeping things on track hard (if you wanna do that I probably shouldn’t assume huh) so Shuichi might know to stop the whole ‘let’s go in a room with the murderer with the lights off’ thing and keep Tenko from dying.

Lmao Korekiyo is all like ‘hey let’s talk to the ghost!’ And then Rantaro is just like ‘ah yes, Shuichi, let’s talk to the ghost’ and Shuichi is somewhere between laughing and crying because HA THATS GOOD THATS A GOOD ONE BUD but also GODDAMMIT AVOCADO MAN SHUT UP YOU’RE DEAD

So now Angie’s dead, Tenko might be alive if you chose that route, but Korekiyo is definitely dead. But how dead?

Your choice as to what happens after that but Kaito will still die due to his illness and Tsumugi might die still but uh. You get to keep Kiibo and maybe Tenko so that counts as a win right?

the thought that he could possibly resurrect a human did cross his mind but what's the use when the one person he wanted to bring back didn't even have a body left to touch

there's a noticeable red glow that shines on the stranger that has happened enough to his doves and flowers he revived before to know exactly what he has done.

shinichi wakes up disoriented but completely sure that the searing heat and the pain on his chest earlier should've killed him yet there he was, alive. with a splitting headache and a bad taste in his mouth, yes, but alive.

kaito dumbly opens with, "you're alive...oh FUCK, you were dead!"

shinichi who still can’t see straight says, “which one is it, i can’t tell.”

shinichi sits up and tries to steady himself on the wall but instead weakly flails his hand towards kaito.

Project: Eden’s Garden prologue just dropped and here’s my thoughts on the cast so far 👀

Damon: Oh, so we finally get to play as a tool. Just a total trashman. It’s almost like if we went into the first Danganronpa playing as Byakuya LMAO. Can’t wait to watch his guy slowly figure out he was being a gatekeeping prick just to feel self-important and not have to think about having an identity apart from his talent.

Eva: I love her. I already liked her design when the voice cast was announced, which I also really like, and now I’m really looking forward to how her arc pans out. I like how a lot of her dialogue consists of questions/guesses, directives, or observations you wouldn’t need to take her word for. I also like that, assuming it’s true-- and so far, I’m willing to bet it is-- that, while hesitant, she was honest about being the Ultimate Liar. Imagine how that’d blow up in her face later if she tried lying about what kind of Ultimate she was. She knows it’s a lot to ask for with her talent, but she definitely acts like she wants to be trusted. I already said this in Youtube comments, but the contrast against Kokichi really makes a point for why she’s the Ultimate Liar: a good liar knows when not to lie. For one, a bad liar tells lies they can’t get away with, and for another, if your reputation precedes you, all it takes to deceive everyone is to tell the truth and let their suspicion do all the work.

Grace: Uncalled for, but Damon kinda earns it later.

Wolfgang: A polite boy. A lad, even. Save for how riled up that “demo” got him. Wondering whether he’ll be Damon’s Kaito or his Kokichi... Right now, it seems like Damon’s set himself up to be Wolfgang’s Kokichi. Yikes.

Toshiko: We haven’t seen her mouth yet... curious. Could mean nothing... but if this fangame also includes a plant among the killing game participants, she’s my first guess. Danganronpa loves red herrings, so I don’t think it’d be Eva, but Toshiko? Her color scheme would also fit, everyone woke up in pairs, and a lot of those pairs seem to work well together or at least balance each other out.

When Shuichi or anyone else tries to comfort her, she snaps at them to leave her alone

When Kaito finally confronts her, she beats on his chest while crying

Then she becomes exhausted and just lets Kaito hold her while she cries

Kaito actually does help her a lot

But he'll never replace you

She considers committing a murder to get herself executed

Miu Iruma

Also turns her pain into anger

Yells at anyone who tries to help, and calls you a dumbass a few times

She's not as good as keeping the tears back tho

Basically starts bawling the second she stops yelling

She's not angry at you, she just doesn't know how to cope

Very loud and emotional

Kiibo tries to help, but it doesn't do much

She doesn't entirely understand why you did it, it's not like your clasmates are that great

But it's in the past, and there's nothing she can do

She doesn't know how she'll live without you

Himiko Yumeno

Very saddened

She understands why you sacrificed yourself, and she respects it

She doesn't change too much, she just acts less tired and more depressed

She isn't very emotional all the time, but she does have moments where she cries

Wishes she can use magic to bring you back

But she knows it's impossible

She misses you more than anything

Her favorite moments with you were when she tried to perform magic for you, and you clapped for her even when she messed up

She might not look too affected, but she really is

She ended up getting killed by Korekiyo, but she didn't bother fighting back

She missed you way too much

Angie Yonaga

Very saddened

She understands your reasoning, and she is very proud

She tells herself that Atua found you and is taking care of you, but she doesn't fully believe it

Finds herself worrying about you and where you are in the afterlife

Sometimes she gazes about her paintings of you

Gets the feels going

She makes a memorial for you

Himiko tries to make her feel better and so does Tenko (surprisingly) and she's grateful, but it doesn't help that much

When she gets murdered by Korekiyo, she immediately goes to find you

Happy that you're safe and that she's reunited with you

Kirumi Tojo

Very sad and grim

She is very proud of your selfless decision, though she wishes you didn't do it

Becomes a bit more serious, and tends to snap at people from time to time

Makes sure to apologize right after

Sometimes when she makes tea, she accidentally makes one for you

She feels very depressed when this happens

After a week or two without you, her mind starts to go to bad places

Her motivation behind murdering Ryoma was getting executed

She just couldn't take it anymore

She wasn't proud of what she had done, but all that mattered to her was you

Tenko Chabashira

Starts bawling the second she sees you

Doesn't understand your reasoning

Why would you sacrifice yourself when half your classmates are a bunch of degenerate males?

Even though she doesn't understand, she is proud

Absolutely cannot cope without you

Himiko and Angie try to help her feel better, but it does basically nothing

Her discrimination towards boys is even worse

Tells them that they should have been dead, not you

Actually gets physical with them sometimes

After her death, she immediately starts looking for you

You're the best thing to ever happen to her, and your sacrifice affected her a LOT

She was going to keep you alive throughout the whole thing, you weren't supposed to die

When she found out that you sacrificed yourself, she is heartbroken

Either you knew she was the mastermind and wanted to stop her, or you didn't know and just wanted to save your friends

Either way, she is devastated

Was your relationship not good enough for you?

Why would you desert her like this?

Why would you throw away everything for a bunch of fools she doesn't even care about?

She doesn't understand, but she will find a way to reunite with you

Continuation! (sorry if i fuck up names, i am a eng dub bitch lol)

- Kaito does some detective work and saw the buffoon detective Mouri that his bf mentioned here and there has suddenly gained popularity, which makes Kaito kinda suspicious

- He breaks into the Mouri office and looks around for any clues but finds nothing, he does get interrupted by a particular small detective

-Almost gets his head blown off cause Conan doesn’t recognize him

- Shortly after that, Kaito comes very cheerfully with a horrified Conan saying “Where the fuck is my boyfriend, ran.”

- little Conan is breaking out in cold sweat when Ran mentions Shin’s phone calls to her that he is safe, he is somewhere solving a very secretive case

-Kaito call bull to that as even if shin is shin, he always tells Kaito everything especially if it is a very dangerous cases bc of how much he trusts Kaito and thinks it is just an excuse

- Kaito being Kaito decides that if his bf is refusing communication he is going to be a camp out of the Mouri detective agency until shin is mature enough to communicate with him! (immature vs immature)

- Mouri tries to get rid of him but how do you get rid of someone that just fucking appears out of thin air!??!?!??!

- Unsure if Shin as Conan would be ether really awkward around Kaito or be like a total brat to piss him off, like fuck up his magic tricks and constantly telling him ‘i hate magic’ and that its shit, that he has seen clowns from a circus do better lol

-  Just constantly trying to get rid of him but fails

- Adventures with world’s dumbest detective, a teenage girl who could kill grown men if she wanted to, a dying inside magical secret thief teen and the boyfriend of the magical teen that got shrink and has to hide that^TM

- Heiji would be HILARIOUS cause of how dense that motherfucker would be

- Conan would be trying to shut him up as he talks about meeting shin and how good buddies they are, Kaito is holding in his jealously as Heji just thinks he is the jealous best friend of Kudo and so keeps at it

- Heiji accidentally made himself the other women lmao

- “EH? KUDO THAT IS YOUR BOYFRIEND??” “THIS IS WHY I TOLD YOU TO SHUT THE FUCK UP-”

-Unsure when Shin would realize he is being a coward but he does eventually turn around (perhaps Kaito being more distressed and actually really fucking worried that their relationship and discussing that with little Conan)

-He would start of with being sorta sweet and apologetic but would quickly become snarky and be like “Ohh so you finally agree it wasn’t my fault” and “please stop being freeloading with ran, she is already dealing with her father’s relationship.”

- Shin still doesn’t discuss his situation and in trade for not telling Kaito they would be in constant contact with daily calls and texts/emails (?)

Happy ending? No, not really.

- “Ah small detective, you have always had a grudge against me, would have not thought it would be you to unmask me.”

- Being Conan he finds out that Kaito is Kid, it is like canon were Conan was chasing Kaito just when bored and simple rivalry

-Kaito got away only because of Conan’s shock

-Shin is distraught, not really because of stealing cause he could look past that but just how much he realized would he ever be able to take down his boyfriend if it came to it? Is he as a detective bringing danger to his boyfriend? Is his boyfriend using him as protection? Because of him being creditable personal if he were to ever get caught?(no of course not, Kaito has given him a red rose since childhood, he loves him because of their history right?) -It is sorta nail in the coffin for Shin, as along with being almost a year since his transformation

-He has not been able to hold his boyfriend, go on dates, kiss, or even just be in a comfort presence with him, there phone calls are fine and full of love but that is not the love his boyfriend deserves

- At this point he isn’t sure if he can even come back to his original form, he is always a step back and step forward even when gaining new alliances (ie- Haibara), would Kaito even wait for him? Shin would not be sure if he would be more broken on the fact that Kaito wouldn’t or he would wait for a person who would never come back?

-What if the organization ever go for Kaito? Figure is Kid and expose him? What if they ever hurt Kaito? How would he live with himself?

- ‘Maybe Aoko is the one to make Kaito happy and not him’ ‘She would make him so much more happier than me.’ Shin thinks  

- So Shin breaks it off

-  the conversation goes something like this?

“I-I don’t want you to be involved.” “Involved with what?! What have you gotten yourself into?!? I would stand with you for everything-” “No, you don’t understand, this is something that even I don’t I would be able to get myself out.” “What?” “I’m sorry” *Hangs up*

- Shin has never been great with dates that were not related to a case, it was a very happy anniversary for Kaito as he looks at the little fake ring he proposed with when they were kids and look at a very new and brought with cash he worked hard for without stealing anything with for his ex-beloved

idk ya could make this happy or worst but this in the end for me (well for now lololol) :D
