okay I've finished making my big spreadsheet of how mp100 characters refer to each other! some thoughts on this under the cut because it got long
the Kageyama brothers are very polite in how they refer to people. their parents must have really instilled etiquette into them bc no one else is as consistent about using polite honorifics/titles as they are. the only people Mob doesn't give an honorific/title are his brother and Dimple, and the only people Ritsu doesn't give an honorific are Dimple and Shou, who he just calls "Suzuki"
Reigen, on the other hand, is pretty inconsistent and casual with his use of honorifics. he says "Mob-kun" a couple times and "Ritsu-kun" once, but usually they're just Mob and Ritsu (or "Mob's brother" lmao). the only honorific he consistently uses is "Tome-chan"
it's infrequent, but both Reigen and Dimple refer to Mob as "my boy" at some point :') he's their boy!
Ritsu doesn't refer to the Awakening Lab kids at all until he asks their names after being kidnapped lmao the only exception is when he calls out to the older Shiratori brother after the younger one is taken away and he calls him "Shiratori-kun." considering the fact that after asking their names, he refers to both of them as Daichi-kun and Kaito-kun, I think there was absolutely a moment when everyone was freaking out about the Shiratori brothers where he was like "ohhhhh that's his name"
also he switches from "Onigawara-san" to "Onigawara-senpai" when he realizes he's friends with his brother lmao fakeass
even though Mob starts calling Teru "Hanazawa-kun" as soon as they exchange names, Teru doesn't give him the honorific until they decide to raid Claw together. I guess that's the point when he decides they're friendly enough for it? he calls Ritsu "brother-kun" as soon as he realizes they're related and never refers to him by his actual name
everyone calls Teru some variation on his nickname EXCEPT Mob and Dimple. Dimple actually only calls him "brat" and "that guy" for a while until he managed to track him down again during the alleyway incident, which I realized is because he was exorcised before learning Teru's name lskdjflkdsf from the Seventh Division arc onwards, he just calls him "Hanazawa"
I love that Dimple tries to refer to the brothers with cutesy nicknames and both of them are like "if you do that again I'm killing you all the way dead" and he's like "understood." and then refers to them by given name from then on lmao
Teru refers to Dimple as "Dimple-kun" and Tome calls him "Dimple-chan," both of which are SO funny to me because he's way older than them. rude as hell, this evil spirit deserves no respect
Shou doesn't use honorifics or titles for ANYONE. Ritsu is just Ritsu, the Ultimate 5 are all their last names, his dad is just Pops. he also exclusively refers to Mob as "Ritsu's brother" dkfjldskfj
Serizawa alternates between "Shigeo-kun" and "Kageyama-kun" with no real rhyme or reason to it. just seems to depend on his mood I guess

Honestly wild how Mob is the firstborn. Imagine birthing an eldritch creature that makes everything in the room float, can probably shatter all the glass in the house in a single moment, and warp all of the kitchen utensils, and thinking … yeah, I want another one.

HQ AS YOUR TYPICAL HIGHSCHOOL BOYS WHO HAS A CRUSH ON YOU
KAGEYAMA: a shy guy who needs the mental support of the whole volleyball team just so he could initiate a conversation with you. whenever you’re in the same room as him he just suddenly finds himself all stiff and unable to function properly. the amount of times where he catches glimpses of you is hilarious because he couldn’t speak a damn word to you no matter how much he wants to.
OIKAWA: to him, there’s something romantic about surprising you by leaving gifts on your desk and locker and there isn’t one day where he forgets to do that, no matter what the occasion is. during huge events such as Christmas, valentines day, you name it — he has everything planned out just for you. he’s actually good at being romantic and he knows that to himself. he’s spoiled you so much and he’s just at the peak of having a crush on you, what more if he’s in a relationship with you.
USHIJIMA: he’s the definition of actions over words. ushijima doesn’t talk much, but his intentions reflect clearly through his actions. one day, he offers to carry your things for you. another day, he offers you his sweater because he hears you complaining how cold the weather is — and that nearly scared the shit out of you because you’re literally at the other end of the classroom?? whenever you’re walking through the stairs, he’ll offer you his hand for support. if he notices your discomfort in a big crowd, he’ll use his body to support you incase someone might bump onto you while using his arm to support your lower back.
HINATA: he’ll always greet you with a ‘good morning y/n! :D’ or a ‘hi y/n! what a lovely morning, is it? how are you doing!’ with a smile on his face every morning before class starts and it goes the same when it’s time to go home ‘cause he always makes sure to see you at the beginning and at the end of his day. he’s so sweet because although he couldn’t bring you home due to volleyball practice, he’ll tell you, ‘have a safe trip home y/n!’ or ‘i’ll see you tomorrow y/n! make sure to send me a text when you’re home, kay!’
TSUKISHIMA: he still sends snappy remarks to you, but the difference between the way he is to others compared to you is detectable. very. so much so that everytime tsukki interacts with you, kageyama looks at him as if he’s possessed. his feelings for you comes out in a different way, but the soft glint from the way he gazes at you reflects his true intentions — because at one point he hears you complaining how you’re having a hard time at a certain subject, and suddenly he drops a whole ass notebook infront of you, all containing his notes of the lesson. he raises an eyebrow at the confused look you’re giving him, “why are you looking at me like that? we don’t want you failing with your empty head, don’t we?” he says with a snicker,,, and a slight blush on his cheeks.
KUROO: he doesn’t hide the fact that he has a crush on you. it doesn’t surprise you with the fact that he’s already leaning against the door frame of your classroom after classes has ended. he also isn’t shy with the fact that he’s sending you winks from across the cafeteria or hallways (he knows you like it). passing by him through the school hallway, at that short moment, he sends you a glance, a cheshire smile on his face as he greets you with a ‘hey pretty’ before passing by you as if he didn’t do shit at all.
AKAASHI: he’s so attentive when it comes to you. he’ll open doors for you and let you enter or leave the room first before he does. everyone is actually close to having no clue whether he has a crush on you or not ‘cause he’s naturally polite in general —but the thing is, his gaze on you is so loving??? it’s not the kind of look he’s ever given to anyone at all & i’m pretty sure the volleyball team has caught up with his intentions towards you. it doesn’t take long until they’re being ridiculously loud at teasing akaashi about it especially when they keep catching him looking at you with that gaze again.

what Haikyuu characters would be as roommates
(everyones in uni and an adult tho I am not living with any high school boys ever)
Hinata Shouyou
Nice, that being said doesn’t have any common sense or boundaries, doesn’t know where his stuff is, so he keeps using yours, LOUD and kinda smelly
Kageyama Tobio
Has no idea how to be a human or do ANY chores, can be trained to be a good roommate (takes time tho)
Tsukishima Kei
Could be the best roommate ever (quiet, clean) or the worst (passive aggressive), depending on who he rooms with, always asks before bringing people over, piss him off tho and he will throw a rager with Bokuto
Yamaguchi Tadashi
Probably one of the best on this list, cooks, cleans, always asks before bringing people over, husband material
Ennoshita Chikara
Also a strong choice, father in the making, can be kinda intimidating at first
Nishinoya Yuu
Hahahahaha just no
Tanaka Ryunosuke
Weirdly? A great roommate. Compassionate and understanding, respects your boundaries, ready to sweet talk you into parting with his friends, but rarely throws any parties at home
Sugawara Koushi
Seems like a good roommate but actually isn't one. He is really polite, but you think its all fake and he silently gets judgemental about the way you do chores. Also you feel like he knows all your secrets.
Azumane Asahi
Has no opinion or won’t voice any, so you will be always concerned if hes actually fine with the rules you set
Sawamura Daichi
Father - so great roommate, could fix a door or make dinner
Yahaba Shigeru
Hot take; hot but nasty, one of those pretty boys that wipe their hands into the couch after eating (looks are everything, living spaces? Def not), takeout boxes in the sink, kyoutani is always over and you can hear whatever they’re doing
Kyoutani Kentarou
Won't see him, always at yahabas, surprisingly clean and quiet at home
Iwaizumi Hajime
Good roommate, but you will probably never feel the need to talk? Like maybe 5 words per month and its about when the trash will be collected
imagine meeting oikawa one day when you know literally nothing about iwa
Oikawa Tooru
See yahaba, but more vocal and NEVER cleans the shower even tho his stuff takes up 80% of the shelves in the bathroom
Matsukawa Issei & Hanamaki Takahiro
Why have one bad roommate when you can have two?? They share a room, have the weirdest bed set up and sometimes sleep on one bed bcs you literally can’t get to the second one, but at least they’re fun
Terushima Yuuji
Always talks about hookups but actually has any and you know it cause you’re roommates, tolerably messy, just a guy
Aone Takenobu
Good roommate, clean and proper, but you are scared of starting conversations with him
Ushijima Wakatoshi
Has an Oikawa poster on the bathroom mirror and sometimes talks to him, so many plants in common spaces its starting to annoy you
Tendou Satori
Still pretends his hair is natural, even tho you are roommates and you know how long it takes him to style it. Acceptably messy, but everything is acceptable when he brings homemade sweets.
Shirabu Kenjirou
Uses a ruler to cut his hair so he is definitely insane. Lives like a man (no furniture, no bedsheets). Peaked in highschool - did you know he went to shiratorizawa?
Daisho Suguru
Surprisingly a very good roommate, everyone hates him tho and you don't know why.
Miya Atsumu
Just no. Straight man (derogatory)
Miya Osamu
Nice roomie, but Atsumu is always around which is not so nice. Still husband material.
Suna Rintarou
Bad roommate. Ok on most days, but impossible to argue with. When the dish soap runs out he will use hand soap bcs soap is soap right?
Haiba Lev
An adult that needs an adultier adult to live with. Cannot operate a dishwasher or a washing machine, good thing that his sister or yaku are over so often.
Kozume Kenma
Do you even have a roommate? The only time you see each other is at 2 am when you both want to shower.
Yamamoto Taketora
Like tanaka, but more awkward. At first tries a bit to hard to be your friend.
Kuroo Tetsurou
Good roommate, cleans, cooks, considerate of you but nosy af and will use the knowledge to pester you.
Yaku Morisuke
Mom material, seems like a good roommate, but will aggressively mother you.
Akaashi Keiji
An amazing roommate until he's not. When he’s mad or stressed he will make sure no one has a good time and you're sometimes afraid to leave the room when you know he has a deadline.
Bokuto Koutarou
Loud both awake and asleep (turns, snores, talks in his sleep). Tries VERY hard to be your best friend.
Sakusa Kiyoomi
You will go insane with his cleanliness standards.
Yachi Hitoka
Great roomie.
Shimizu Kiyoko
Good roommate but will always be better than you and give you gay panic.
Ukai Keishin
Heavy smoker so better get used to the cigarette smell.
Takeda Ittetsu
The only person on this list YOU can intimidate. Too busy to be home.
after discussing pros and cons of living with everyone we decided to do our top 3 and bottom 3 roommates
My friend that i did this with:
top:
3. Lev - seems fun and his sister can come over anytime ;)
2. Tanaka - I need someone to force me out of the house lmao
1. Iwa-chan - living with him would literally solve all my problems and i already own a pull up bar come to me iwa-chan
bottom:
3. Suna - literally my brother vibes and not sharing a wall with him drastically improved the quality of my life
2. Tsukki - if I was a haikyuu character I would be tsukki and I could never live with myself
1. Suga - i will not be judged on the way i vacuum the living room carpet he can keep his opinions to himself
Me:
top:
3. Takeda - i like things my way and he will do as i ask, also he is never home
2. Kuroo - he's H O T, even tho he pesters me hes still h o t while doing it
1. Ushijima - hes weird im weird i feel like we gonna vibe. bonus points that my plants will never die anymore
bottom:
3. Atsumu - loud, dirty, god complex
2. Hinata - he will use my favourite bowls and i will not have the courage to tell him to stop because it feels so minor but actually is not
1. Akaashi - just no, my mom actually acts like that and its stresses the fuck out of me, I’m not gonna live with my mom 2.0
what's your top/bottom three and why?

thinking about pro!tsukishima who comes home exhausted after a full week of working on the museum in the mornings and practice in the afternoons. that time of the year is the worst with both jobs packing up with more and more responsibilities and matches coming.
in a particular day, he feels like he’s going to explode. five groups of kids coming to the museum gives him the biggest headache, and then he has to deal with his annoying coworker complaining of his lack of enthusiasm and politeness with the kids. tsukishima likes kids but not others kids.
it doesn’t get better in practice. his blocks aren’t good enough to stop the ball, his serves are sloopy and he has to hit several times. two of his teammates gets into a fight. not in a cute love quarrel like hinata and kageyama used to but in an actual hatred argument that forces the coach to bench them for the next match.
so when he finally goes home, he is exhausted.
“i’m home.”
weirded out by the lack of reply, he goes inside home. and then he hears a childish laugh together with some splashes and a more mature laugh from the second floor. inmediately tsukishima smiles.
going two step at the time on the stairs, all exhaustation away, tsukishima rushes to the bathroom.
while tsukishima takes care of the house and takashi in the mornings, every afternoon tadashi goes to the daycare and have a nice father-son time. that usually ends with tadashi having to put on their clothes in the washing machine and an hour-bath.
and that's how he finds them: tadashi and takashi fighiting with some dinosaurs toys. takashi still has shampoo in his head and tadashi was completly soaked. both of his boys smiling and laughing.
tsukishima can go throgh hell outside his house but only because he knows he'll find his personal heaven at home.

Hinata’s eyes sparkled as he looked around the residence where the team would be staying before the match. “Oh, is this where we’ll be staying?” he asked, his voice brimming with excitement as he inspected every corner of the place. “It’s my first training camp! This is going to be so much fun.”
Off to the side, Tsukishima crossed his arms and sighed, looking at Hinata with a mix of exasperation and disdain. “Oh, great. A whole day surrounded by this bunch of airheads… what’s so fun about that?” You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at his usual sarcastic attitude.
“Tsukishima, you idiot!” Tanaka exclaimed, stepping forward.
Nishinoya backed him up with equal energy. “Kiyoko’s less than 500 meters away! How can you be so insensitive?” His expression was pure drama, as if the distance from Kiyoko physically pained him.
You shook your head with a smile, already used to the boys’ antics. Without wasting any more time, you headed to the room assigned to you. Sliding the door open, you were surprised by the spacious interior; it seemed ready to accommodate several people. While you would have enjoyed sharing it with someone like Kiyoko, you knew the young manager would head home since she lived nearby.
With a sigh of relief, you dropped your bag on the floor and started checking if you had everything you needed for the night. Pajamas? Check. Toothbrush and personal care kit? Check. Clean clothes and skincare products? Check. Satisfied that you had packed all the essentials for a peaceful night, you prepared for what would be a solo sleepover.
You got up, ready for dinner. Spotting Hinata and Kageyama sitting together, you decided to join them, though you quickly realized it wasn’t the best choice: both were devouring their food as if it were their first and last meal. Between smiles and incredulous glances, you carefully guarded your plate, mindful of your teammates' voracious appetites.
Even though you had been in Japan for years, you were still selective about some local dishes. Still, you ventured to take a generous spoonful of curry, offering a polite “Itadakimasu” before starting.
It wasn’t long before Hinata, with a hopeful look, pointed at the pieces of kakuni on your plate. “Y/N, are you going to eat that?” he asked, his eyes shining with a mix of enthusiasm and longing.
Smiling, you slid your plate toward him. “No, Shoyo-kun, go ahead.”
“Thanks, Y/N! You’re the best,” he said enthusiastically, savoring the kakuni you had shared.
Midway through the meal, Nishinoya leaned closer to both of you, a spark of curiosity in his eyes. “Hey, I’ve always wondered something, and if I don’t ask now, I think I’ll lose my mind.” He paused dramatically, capturing everyone’s attention. “Are you two dating or something? I mean, you’re always together... like, all the time.”
Both you and Hinata froze for a moment, exchanging a surprised glance before responding in unison: “Not at all!”
Shoyo laughed, throwing an arm around your shoulders playfully. “We’re best friends,” he explained with a carefree grin. “To me, Y/N is like a sister.”
“And to me, Shoyo is like a little brother,” you added, returning his smile. The familiarity and camaraderie in your words made the boys around you laugh, settling the matter.
“Little brother? Why little? We’re the same age!” Hinata protested, frowning comically while the others struggled to hide their smiles.
“Because I’m taller than you, obviously,” you replied with a triumphant grin, crossing your arms to emphasize your point.
Hinata looked at you with a defiant expression, stretching as much as he could in his seat. "Only by a couple of centimeters," he muttered, though his voice betrayed a hint of frustration, which made the boys laugh even harder.
"A couple? I’d say it’s more than that," you replied with an amused smile, raising your hand to emphasize the difference. "Come on, why don’t you try saying ‘big sister’?”
“I’m not saying that,” Hinata protested, frowning and looking away, crossing his arms in a show of stubbornness.
After dinner and a refreshing shower, you slipped into your comfy green Pochacco pajamas and started your nightly skincare routine, following the tips your mom had given you. Sitting on the floor, you opened one of the face masks you had brought, opting for the strawberry one this time. Taking out the small spatula that came with the package, you began carefully applying it to your face.
You hadn’t gotten far when the door burst open. “Excuse me!” Hinata exclaimed as he walked in like it was his own room, closely followed by Nishinoya. Without a second thought, they settled down next to you.
“What are you doing?” Hinata asked, his curiosity evident.
“Just relaxing a bit,” you replied, holding a small mirror as you applied the mask to your face. Then, with an amused smile, you offered, “Want to try?”
“Why not?” the redhead agreed, amused, as he pushed his messy bangs back with a couple of hair clips.
“I want to try too!” Nishinoya chimed in enthusiastically. Before you knew it, what had started as a solo routine turned into an impromptu group spa session. Tanaka and Asahi joined in on the fun, intrigued by the idea of trying the masks. Now, holding the lemon mask in your hand, you were carefully applying it to Asahi’s face as he shared, with a touch of guilt, how he had accidentally scared a first-year student earlier that day and how bad he felt about it.
Meanwhile, Hinata, Tanaka, and Nishinoya had moved to the other side of the room, apparently focused on your PSP, trying to beat the level you had left unfinished. You could hear their murmurs and exclamations every time one of them made a mistake in the game.
Tsukishima and Yamaguchi were walking down the hall after their showers. Tsukishima, with his usual air of indifference, wiped the steam off his glasses, adjusting them slightly in an attempt to restore a clear view. When they passed by your room and saw the door slightly ajar, with murmurs and laughter spilling into the hallway, both stopped, intrigued.
“What the hell…?” Tsukishima whispered, glancing inside with a mix of surprise and exasperation at the scene unfolding. From the doorway, they could see Hinata, Tanaka, and Nishinoya engrossed in your PSP in one corner, while you sat on the floor, carefully applying a lemon mask to Asahi’s face, who looked more relaxed than either of them had ever seen him.
Noticing their presence, you gestured for them to come in. “Tsukishima, Yamaguchi! Want to try?” you asked with an amused smile as you finished applying the mask on Asahi.
Before Tsukishima could respond with his usual sarcasm, Yamaguchi had already stepped forward. “Sure,” he replied enthusiastically, moving to where you were. With complete confidence, he settled on the floor and rested his head on your lap, relaxed and ready to be pampered. He chose the strawberry mask, and you began applying it to his face with gentle movements, enjoying the calm of the moment.
Tsukishima let out a barely audible murmur. “Traitor…” he said under his breath, though his words lacked their usual bite. Without much else, he moved closer and sat beside you, crossing his arms and giving you a look of patient resignation, as if waiting for you to finish.
“This is so relaxing,” Yamaguchi commented, enjoying the soft strawberry scent of the mask on his face. When you finished, he sat up and joined the others, who were still struggling to beat the video game level, fully immersed in the challenge.
With an amused smile, you turned to Tsukishima, showing him the remaining mask options. “Alright, which one do you want?” you asked, holding up the two for him to see.
He simply shrugged. Without much hesitation, you picked the lemon one. “Then it’ll be this one,” you said decisively, opening the container.
Without a word, Tsukishima shifted slightly and rested his head on your lap. “Make it quick. This is ridiculous,” he muttered with his typical indifference. But deep down, you knew that if he were really uncomfortable, he wouldn’t have agreed so easily. As you began applying the mask, you felt his hair, still damp from the shower, slightly soaking your clothes.
When your hands brushed his face to remove his glasses, Tsukishima tensed for just a moment—almost imperceptibly. To anyone else, his posture would still seem indifferent, but in that moment, he was grappling with thoughts he would never allow to surface. Ever since the day he met you, something about you had unsettled him in a way he couldn’t quite decipher. He remembered that second encounter—when you accidentally hit him in the face with a ball—and how it made him see you differently. And when you approached to check if he was okay, cheeks flushed and voice filled with apologies, he had been intrigued. He couldn’t explain what caught his attention; maybe it was your unusual accent when you spoke Japanese or the spontaneous expressions in your native language that you let slip into conversations. There was something genuine and refreshing about it.
But perhaps what surprised him most was how wholeheartedly you threw yourself into supporting them. Despite their chaotic practices, mistakes, and failures, there you were, cheering them on with fervor. Shouting words of encouragement that sometimes seemed almost ridiculous but somehow managed to energize and uplift them. And, though he’d never admit it out loud, there was something charming about your jokes—those corny ones you told when you sat next to him, not caring if they weren’t funny, simply enjoying the moment.
There was also the way your intelligence caught him off guard, like when you helped Hinata with his homework during breaks. He couldn’t deny that he saw you differently, in a way that clashed with his usual attitude.
It was the little things, the unconscious details that made you stand out. The way you furrowed your brow when something didn’t sit right with you or when you didn’t understand something—a look that became even more evident when you reviewed sheet music in the gym during breaks. Often, he watched you from afar, observing in silence. Your presence seemed to have its own rhythm; you always smelled nice, dressed gracefully, and to him, you looked more than good. However, whenever he started thinking about all of this, his mind would quickly rein itself in, reminding him that he shouldn’t think of you that way—especially in a moment like this.
Suddenly, the snap of fingers in front of his face pulled him out of his trance. “Earth to Tsukki,” he heard your voice, clear and amused. He opened his eyes and saw you raising an eyebrow, his glasses perched on your face, making you look funny. His gaze met yours, and for a brief instant, he couldn’t help but smile—if only on the inside.
"Man, you’re really blind," you said playfully, noticing how strong the lenses were.
Tsukishima looked at you with a mix of frustration and resignation, quickly extending his hand to try to grab his glasses back. "Give me that," he said seriously, but you, quick as ever, moved away before he could reach them. He was lucky the mask covered the slight blush on his cheeks, which didn’t escape your notice.
"'Give me that,'" you mimicked, copying his tone and posture, which only made him huff in annoyance.
"I don’t sound like that," he complained, still trying to retrieve his glasses, but you moved deftly to keep them out of his reach, enjoying the slight discomfort you seemed to cause him. Tsukishima’s nearsightedness didn’t help him much in this situation, and when he tried to distract you by smearing a bit of the mask onto the bridge of your nose, you paused to clean it off. He took advantage of the moment, grabbing his glasses back with a small victorious smirk.
"How annoying," you muttered, rubbing your nose to remove the excess cream, only to hear a triumphant cheer from the other side of the room.
"We did it!" Hinata and Yamaguchi shouted in unison, celebrating as they finally cleared the level you’d been stuck on. Their excitement filled the room, and Tsukishima, clearly irritated by the noise, let out an exasperated sigh.
"So loud," he commented, his tone as sharp as always.
Suddenly, the door burst open, and Daichi appeared, looking surprised and slightly annoyed. "Hey, it’s late! What are you all still doing up?" he said firmly. Taking in the scene before him, he frowned in disbelief. "What… what is this? Go wash that stuff off your faces and get to bed. Now."
With a collective sigh, everyone began getting up and reluctantly leaving the room, some grumbling about the captain’s order while others simply muttered their goodnights, resigned to Daichi’s reprimand.
Tumblr media
You grumbled softly under your breath as you walked at a slow pace, trailing far behind the group of boys. "Damn… This is what I get for showing up early," you muttered, casting a frustrated glance at the figures running ahead. Ukai’s training sessions were notorious for being grueling, but you’d never thought you’d find yourself caught up in one.
"Come with us, you never exercise, not even in PE," the redhead had said with that boundless energy of his that sometimes got on your nerves. Stupid carrot head, you thought with a mix of irritation and resignation.
Unlike the rest, who were already running at a steady pace, you chose not to rush. Instead of trying to keep up, you preferred to stroll leisurely, enjoying the cool morning air and the quiet streets stretching out before you.
"Hinata, don’t yell for no reason; you’re just going to tire yourself out faster," Daichi warned, his tone firm but patient. Hinata, however, ignored the advice, picking up his pace to try and overtake Kageyama.
"Hey, where are you going?" Daichi exclaimed again as the redhead suddenly veered off course with all his impulsiveness.
You sighed at the commotion, finally catching up to the group, who had stopped by the side of the road for a break. Despite the curious glances sent your way, you didn’t stop. You simply kept walking with the same calm as before, unwavering in your stride.
"Wait, where are you going now?" Daichi asked, raising an eyebrow at your indifference to the team’s pause.
"To find him," you replied without slowing down, adjusting your high ponytail and brushing away the strands of hair that had begun sticking to the back of your neck from the heat. "Let’s just get this over with. It’s too hot to drag this out any longer."
You continued walking, your pace steady and determined. As you turned a corner, your gaze landed on Shoyo, who seemed engrossed in an animated conversation with another boy.
"Shoyo!" you called firmly as you approached. He quickly turned at the sound of your voice, an innocent smile lighting up his face. However, your attention soon shifted to the young man standing beside him.
He was dressed in a red tracksuit, probably his school uniform, and though his posture was relaxed, there was something in his gaze that unsettled you. His sharp, feline eyes rested on you for a moment, calmly analyzing before returning to the phone in his hands. He was reserved, that much was clear, but there was something intriguing about his demeanor. For a moment, he reminded you of Nayuta, though with a more masculine version of her serene expression—except for the blonde hair that set him apart.
"Oh, there you are!" Shoyo exclaimed, interrupting your thoughts with his usual energy, bouncing toward you like he was celebrating a victory. "This is Kozume Kenma; he’s a second-year in high school and, well… he’s lost," he explained, casually pointing at the blonde boy.
"I-I’m Y/N Y/LN," you introduced yourself, bowing slightly with more nervousness than you would’ve liked to show. Why are you stuttering? For god’s sake, he’s just a cute guy, you scolded yourself internally, feeling a slight warmth on your cheeks.
Kenma barely nodded in response, murmuring something that sounded vaguely like "nice to meet you" without looking up from his phone. His lack of interaction didn’t bother you; instead, it piqued your curiosity about his quiet and reserved personality.
"Did you know Kenma plays volleyball too?" Hinata chimed in enthusiastically. Hearing that, your eyes drifted to the athletic shoes poking out of the bag next to the blonde boy. They were of good quality, evidently worn but well cared for.
"He’s a setter, but not like ours," Shoyo continued, referring to Kageyama.
"Thank God," you muttered under your breath, just loud enough to pass as a casual remark. The thought of dealing with another Kageyama sounded exhausting.
Kenma glanced up for just a second. "What about you? What position do you play?" he asked, raising his voice just enough for you to hear him clearly.
"She’s our coach’s assistant," Hinata answered before you could even open your mouth. You shot him a sidelong glance, mildly annoyed, but decided not to correct him.
While Hinata continued chatting with Kenma, you stayed silent, merely observing. You noted how effortlessly Shoyo filled any empty space with his contagious energy. Before the redhead could ask the boy about his school, a deep voice rang out from down the street, cutting through the moment.
"Kenma!" called a tall guy with black hair styled in an unusually striking way. His presence dominated the space, his tone a blend of authority and familiarity.
"Kuro," Kenma responded with his characteristic calm. Without hurry, he stood and walked toward his companion.
"Bye," Kenma murmured as he left. You felt a pang of disappointment watching him go so quickly. "See you, Shoyo, Y/N," he added, his tone slightly warmer.
Your eyes met his in that final moment. And just when you thought there wouldn’t be any further interaction, Kenma did something unexpected: he threw you a quick wink, so subtle you might have missed it if you hadn’t kept eye contact. A sudden warmth rose to your cheeks, and before you could process it, he was already walking away with Kuro, as if nothing had happened.
The air, which had felt cool and relaxing earlier, now seemed uncomfortably warm. “Someone hold me…” you muttered under your breath, stunned by what had just occurred. The sense of discomfort and confusion was almost tangible.
“Y/N, are you okay?” Hinata asked, noticing your bewildered state. His eyes sparkled with concern as he observed you curiously. “You’re red. It’s because of the sun, isn’t it?”
Hinata, in his typical fashion, placed a hand on your forehead to shield you from the direct sunlight, trying to protect you with his innocent gesture. However, something in his expression shifted when his gaze followed the direction Kenma and Kuro had taken. His eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, it seemed like something had just “clicked” in his mind.
“No… no, no, no way…” he mumbled to himself, as if trying to process an impossible thought. Then, he looked at you, bewildered, noticing you were still silent and your face was still flushed.
“No… it can’t be!” Hinata repeated, his face a mix of confusion and barely hidden curiosity. “Come on, you just met him, and you already… you?” he tried to continue, but you cut him off, placing a hand over his mouth to silence him before he could say more.
“Stop talking,” you said firmly, trying to regain your composure. Straightening up, you stared at Hinata. “Not a word about this, okay?” The seriousness in your tone made it clear this wasn’t the time for jokes.
Hinata looked at you with an amused expression, and you knew you couldn’t trust him to keep this secret. His face was far too mischievous, as if the whole thing was just a game to him.
“Understood?” you insisted, pressing your hand more firmly against his face, hoping he’d finally get the message.
Instead of answering directly, Hinata did something completely unexpected—he licked your palm, as if he couldn’t care less about what you were asking. The gesture left you utterly stunned and, if you were honest, a little grossed out.
“Ugh, that’s disgusting!” you scolded, pulling your hand away quickly and shaking it with a look of disdain.
The familiar voice of Sugawara interrupted you both at that moment. “Hey, guys!” he called out, making you and Hinata turn toward him. “We’ve been looking for you.”
“Sorry,” Hinata apologized with a sheepish smile, not seeming too bothered. “I ran off and got lost.”
“It’s fine,” Sugawara replied, brushing off the incident. “Come on, we need to head back.” With that, the group began walking back to the gym, their conversation resuming its usual flow.
It wasn’t long before Hinata sidled up to you, murmuring a question. “Are you going to tell me what that was about?” But before you could respond, he darted away when he caught the murderous glare you shot at him—a clear warning that you didn’t want to talk about it.
“Girls are so weird,” Hinata muttered under his breath, seemingly to himself, glancing at you with a mix of curiosity and mild fear.
Tumblr media
Finally, the long-awaited day of the match against Nekoma had arrived. Both teams were lined up in front of the entrance to the gym, ready to enter the venue where the match would take place. The rows were neat, with Karasuno players on one side and Nekoma players on the other.
Your gaze swept across the opposing lineup, and that’s when you saw him: Kenma, the reserved guy you had met not long ago, now dressed in the red and black uniform of Nekoma. To your surprise, he was playing as the setter for the opposing team. Wow, so he's their setter. Cool, I’ll get to see him play, you thought, feeling an odd excitement at the prospect of watching him in action.
"Kenma!" Hinata called before he could enter the gym, excitement clear in his voice. "You're on Nekoma?" he asked, not bothering to hide his surprise.
"Ah, yeah," Kenma replied with his usual calm.
"Why didn’t you tell me?" Hinata puffed his cheeks, clearly annoyed that he hadn’t known this detail earlier.
"Because you didn’t ask..." Kenma looked away, his answer as simple as ever, though no less effective.
Hinata furrowed his brows, as if trying to process his teammate's logic. "But you said we’d see each other! How could you not tell me something like that?" he insisted, still confused.
Kenma glanced at him out of the corner of his eye, a slight glint of amusement in his gaze. "Your shirt said 'Karasuno High.' It was pretty obvious," he concluded indifferently, leaving Hinata without a comeback.
Before the conversation could continue, a tall and intimidating-looking guy appeared behind Kenma, drawing the attention of both you and Hinata. His expression was serious, and his posture radiated a kind of passive threat.
"Hey," he said in a deep voice, addressing you and Hinata directly. "What do you want with our setter?" His tone aimed to be intimidating, but to you, it was nothing more than a half-hearted attempt.
Hinata, almost instinctively, took a step back and hid behind you, leaving you to handle the situation.
"It’s none of your business," you replied calmly, crossing your arms while maintaining eye contact with the guy. Your voice, though relaxed, carried an edge of challenge. "And who are you?" you added, raising an eyebrow, making it clear that his attitude didn’t impress you.
Before the other guy could respond, Tanaka's voice rang out behind you, full of energy and attitude. "And what do you want from our first-years?" he spat, stepping forward to position himself in front of you with a challenging stance. You glanced at him, feeling a twinge of exasperation. This is ridiculous, you thought, crossing your arms while trying to maintain composure.
As Tanaka and the tall guy began an exchange of words that seemed to escalate quickly, something else caught your attention. A soft "hello" was heard next to you, immediately capturing your interest. When you turned, you found Kenma, who was staring with unusual concentration at the screen of your PSP. On the device, the startup menu of God of War: Ghost of Sparta glowed with its characteristic dark and rustic tones.
Kenma kept his gaze fixed on the screen as you held the console in your hands, his interest clear despite his serene expression. "Do you like it?" he asked in his calm tone, which somehow made your heart beat a little faster.
"Yeah, although... I’m still on level 5," you confessed, lowering your voice slightly as if admitting it were some kind of weakness. "It’s harder than I expected."
Kenma nodded, moving a little closer to get a better look at the screen, his golden eyes analyzing every detail. "Yeah, God of War can be tough if you’re not used to the combos. This one, in particular, has some interesting mechanics, but also a couple of frustrating enemies. Have you faced the Giant Scorpion yet?"
Your face lit up with a mix of excitement and nervousness. "No! I haven’t gotten that far yet, but I’ve heard it’s pretty tough. I’m trying to improve my combos... but I always end up pressing buttons randomly when I get nervous," you admitted, letting out a small nervous laugh as you brushed a lock of hair from your face.
Kenma made a small gesture that seemed like an attempt at a smile. "That happens at first. But if you focus on blocking and dodging at the right moment, the fights get easier. Have you tried using the Spartan Rage? It’s good for clearing out hordes."
You shook your head, embarrassed. "No... I think I forgot how to activate it. The tutorial went too fast, and I didn’t want to go back and check."
Kenma looked at you, surprisingly patient. "It’s L1 and R1 at the same time. Try it next time you’re surrounded by enemies." Then, his eyes returned to the screen, but his closeness made you increasingly aware of every little movement.
"Ah... thanks," you managed to say, feeling ridiculously nervous by his attention. It’s just a guy, calm down, you repeated to yourself, even though your hands started to sweat slightly as you held the console.
"If you want, I can help you with that level," Kenma offered, completely casually, as if it were no big deal. But for you, that simple suggestion made your mind go blank for a moment. Help you? Play together?
"R-really?" you stammered, heat rising to your cheeks. "I mean... if it’s not a bother."
Both of you were so absorbed in your conversation that you didn’t notice the four Karasuno guys watching from a few steps behind. Kageyama had approached Hinata, who seemed to be following the interaction with a mix of surprise and amusement.
"What’s going on?" asked the black-haired boy, frowning.
Hinata, with his usual enthusiasm, leaned toward him and whispered something in his ear. Kageyama furrowed his brow even more, confused. "What about her?" he asked aloud, causing the other two—Yamaguchi and Tsukishima—to step closer.
"Shh, lower your voice," Hinata insisted, whispering. "Look!"
Following his indication, Kageyama turned his gaze toward you and Kenma, who were still absorbed in your conversation. He seemed to understand what Hinata was implying, although his reaction was more of a shrug.
The scene didn’t go unnoticed by Yamaguchi and Tsukishima, who had also approached out of curiosity. Hinata, always the first to spread rumors, whispered the same thing to both of them. Yamaguchi covered his mouth to hold back a nervous laugh, but Tsukishima didn’t react immediately. His gaze darkened as he watched the interaction between you and Kenma, the slight flush on your face, and the calm with which the Nekoma blond stayed by your side.
"Ridiculous," Tsukishima muttered, adjusting his glasses with a sharp motion before stepping forward toward you.
"Hey, Y/N," he said, his voice laced with false calm, "I think Coach Ukai is looking for you." He placed a hand on your shoulder, guiding you forward while looking at you with an almost challenging intensity. "He might need your help."
You couldn’t help but let a hint of doubt show in your eyes. It didn’t sound convincing, but still, the pressure of his hand on your shoulder pushed you to take a few steps forward. "Really?" you asked, your tone revealing more skepticism than certainty.
Tsukishima, however, didn’t seem to be shaken. "Yeah," he responded with a calculated softness, though his expression wasn’t entirely honest. "You know how he is. Better go before he gets in a bad mood."
With a resigned sigh, you finally decided to follow him, stealing one last glance at Kenma before he walked away without saying a word.

haikyuu boys: how you met <3
this includes hinata, kageyama, sawamura, sugawara, kuroo, tsukishima, and kenma. let me know if you want any more added and i'll do a part two! this is also going up on my wattpad under the same username ^^
Tumblr media
shoyo hinata
you were a distance runner on the karasuno track team. when the gym had a leak, coach ukai told the volleyball club to take a beach trip and play beach volleyball instead as a fun activity. when the team reached the beach, they realized the track team was having a bit of a beach hangout to celebrate their successful season. at first you weren't with the group, out jogging on the shoreline. after a few minutes you came back, having ran to the pier and turned around.
while tobio spiked a ball to him, shoyo had been put off by the sand in his shoes and missed the ball. chasing after it, he grabbed it... only to realize the ball had rolled right to your feet.
"oh, sorry!" he apologized for getting in your personal space. you assured him it was fine and told him that he was good at volleyball. "why don't you watch me for a bit?" and so you did, tanning on your beach towel and listening to spotify while you watched a ginger play volleyball.
Tumblr media
tobio kageyama
tobio wasn't the most studious guy. he struggled in school, particularly in english. it wasn't his native language, so why was he required to learn it? "kageyama. if you don't stop failing your exams, you're not going to pass the first year." his counsellor warned. tobio's eyes widened. not passing first year would mean he would be cut from the volleyball team. he opened his mouth to say something before his counsellor interrupted him.
"i know volleyball is important to you, so i've gotten you a tutor so she can help you on your days off. she's the top in your year." damn, he had to have a tutor and it's a girl? how much worse could this get?
he soon found out that it could get much worse.
"yeah, but why are they spelled the same if they mean different things?" he groaned, staring up at you. you sighed. he was quite stubborn, and refused to listen to a word you say.
"look," you started, "my goal is to get you to pass english. try and work with me here."
he glared at you. this would be the start of quite the entertaining relationship.
Tumblr media
daichi sawamura
it started one day when you ran into the gym to talk to kiyoko, the manager. you were rosy-cheeked, with pom-poms shoved under one arm and a glittery bow in your hair. you had a cheer uniform on, identifiable by the short skirt and tight top.
daichi didn't pay much attention to you at first, but when he glanced over to see what the giggling was about, he dropped the volleyball.
"who's that?" he asked koshi sugawara, his co-captain.
koshi smiled. "that's (y/n). she's the captain of the cheer team. kiyoko-san is her best friend." he said politely.
"oh." was all daichi had to say. he was starstruck by the cheerful look on your face and the way you laughed. he hated to admit it, but he was disappointed when you dashed back out of the gym.
Tumblr media
koshi sugawara
koshi and you had been friends ever since he moved next to you in kindergarten. you had a treehouse in your backyard, and once you became friends you had your parents attach a second ladder that dropped down into koshi's backyard so he could climb up.
"(y/n), i brought snacks from my kitchen!" koshi would exclaim every time you guys hung out after school. he loved the way your face would brighten up when he brought snacks or a game to play.
"let's play knights and princesses, (y/n)." he suggests one day.
"who's gonna be the dragon?" you questioned, seeing as that was how that game worked.
"uhh... i could get my little brother to be the dragon." koshi replied, looking at the knight helmet he had brought up from his room.
"okay!" you agreed, and put on a plastic tiara.
from then on, you were his princess.
Tumblr media
tetsuro kuroo
stuck-up on the court and friendly on the streets, tetsuro wasn't the type to even go looking for a girl. he'd rather let them chase after him, which they had all been doing.
except for you, of course. you didn't even spare him so much as a glance. he stared into the back of your head in class, asked your friends about you, with no response.
it was getting annoying how you wouldn't pay attention to him, and frustrating how much he wanted it. it was starting to affect his schoolwork, even.
his eye twitched as you laughed and talked with your friends, careless about the volleyball captain's feelings.
"hey, (y/n)." tetsuro called out, giving up and just asking for attention. "did you do the notes?" he asked after, coming up with a reason to talk to you.
"oh, yeah." you said calmly.
"can i copy them?" he asked. he had already done his own notes, but...
"sure." you handed him your notebook. "bring it back to me tomorrow, k?" then you skipped off with your friends, ignoring when they teased you about him wanting your attention.
he opened the notebook and stared at the handwriting on the page. it was neat and bubbly, with doodles on the edges and all through the paper. dang it, even your notes were cute.
Tumblr media
kei tsukishima
it was absolutely stupid how the second you walked through the door all eyes were on you. it was dumb how every guy thought about how cute you were all the damn time. it was definitely ridiculous how rosy your cheeks were and how you always seemed to trip over stuff. how short you were. how you always skipped through the halls. how you always gave that closed-eye smile when you were happy. it was all stupid.
kei hated that he wanted to talk to you so badly. he never thought he'd ever be interested in a girl, let alone one as popular and extroverted as you.
"do you have a pencil i can borrow?" his thoughts were interrupted by a soft voice. (y/n).
"uh, yeah." he handed her a pencil, slightly flustered that you had asked him of all people for a pencil.
"it's just a pencil. don't freak out." kei muttered to himself, trying to calm his racing heart. this was so dumb.
after class, you walked up to return the pencil to him. "thanks for letting me borrow it. hey, your name is tsukishima-kun, right?" you said with a warm smile.
damn it.
Tumblr media
kenma kosuke
in reality, he thought you were annoying. always talking, always laughing and smiling. what a bother.
[hey] he typed out in a message to an online friend he had met. this person was quite interesting and had a sense of humor, even though her username was ridiculous. it was something like theOGbackyardigans or whatever.
[hey beautiful roblox boyfriend <3 ] she typed back, adding hearts at the end. kenma snorted to himself. dumbass.
[whats up minecraft girlfriend] he hit send, before shutting off his phone and heading to practice. this girl he met on a video game was the only person he'd ever had that much fun talking to.
hey y'all thanks for popping in! send in some requests if you want <3 i'd love to make themmm

as if guided by an inexplicable force, hinata finds himself outside of karasuno high school.
he dismounts his bike. a few students pass by, shooting him furtive glances, making him feel out of place. all throughout his high school years, he was repeatedly mistaken as a middle schooler, and now that he's left school behind him for good, it seems he'll never escape such impressions.
wheeling his bike along, he walks around, tracing the routes he took from the bike rack to the clubrooms, the main building, the gyms where the various teams practice. their doors are wide open to allow for fresh air, voices drifting over him.
eventually, he finds the gym dedicated to the volleyball team, established as such in his third year. he freezes at ukai's shouts, sharp as ever, yelling at his players to raise their elbows, to react faster. a chorus of affirmatives answer him, and the ball is thrown in the air again.
curiosity gets the best of him. hinata leans his bike against the wall and creeps closer to the door, peering inside. the players are divided into two teams, differentiated by green and yellow bibs. ukai stands at the referee's position, watching as the ball sails back and forth. the libero goes for the receive, the setter running to cover it, sending it to the left. the wing spiker jumps, unperturbed by the three-man block in front of him. his spike blows past them.
ukai blows his whistle. the boys shout in celebration. hinata, caught up in the excitement, cheers along. "nice kill!"
heads turn in his direction, ukai included. hinata freezes, feels his blood turn cold. then, the gym explodes.
"it's hinata shoyo from the jackals!"
"hinata-senpai!"
"hinata-san! can i get your autograph?"
"what's he doing here?"
"is he here to visit?"
as the boys rush toward him, ukai steps down and holds them off with a fierce glare. to his visitor, he says, "i never would've expected to see you here."
"hi, coach! i, uh, i'm playing a game with friends later, and i got restless, so i went on a bike ride and ended up here..." hinata chuckles nervously. "ah, i didn't mean to bother you! i can leave if you want-"
"if i make you leave, i'll never hear the end of it," ukai snorts, glancing over at his dazed team. "stick around for a bit. i'll throw them at you after a few more rallies." he turns around, barks at everyone to get back into position. hinata grins, taking his shoes off before entering to observe from the sidelines.
there's something nostalgic about being back to his humble roots. shoes squeak against the hardwood floor, the air stiff with only the door open. the curtains are drawn across the stage, water bottles and towels scattered on the ledge. it feels just like yesterday that he was being scolded for leaving his gear everywhere, always distracted by his underclassmen or something else.
ukai gives them a break, and the boys swarm him with questions about the jackals, how to improve their serves, whether or not he'll sign their uniforms. "no way that's going to happen," ukai grumbles at the last request.
"i'd be happy to sign anything else," hinata chirps. "within reason, of course!"
as the boys scramble to find appropriate items and markers, hinata hears footsteps approach from behind. he glances over his shoulder, whirls around in surprise. "kageyama!"
"oh." kageyama stops, hands in the pockets of his team jacket. "what are you doing here?"
"i can ask you the same thing!"
"i was in the area, so i thought to say hi to ukai-san." he nods politely when his coach gapes at him. "hello."
"let me guess..." ukai gestures at both of them. "you'll be playing together later?"
hinata nods. "yeah! we also invited-"
"ah! hinata! kageyama!"
"yamaguchi! and..." hinata waves at the blonde hiding behind his friend. "tsukishima!"
"why are you here?" tsukishima grumbles, stepping into view.
ukai has an amused look on his face. "i didn't know the off-season is when alumni visit their old coaches."
"the gym we're playing at is nearby," yamaguchi explains. "hope you don't mind us dropping by."
"i do, in the sense you're disturbing our practice time, but i'll just think of it as upperclassmen coming to see their underclassmen." ukai nods at his team, starstruck, now that the number of pros have multiplied. "you've got five minutes to ask for autographs, so make it fast!"
after a whirlwind of autographs, one underclassman approaches hinata. "could you show us your minus tempo set with kageyama-san?" he asks eagerly. "we're trying to replicate it, but haneda isn't fast enough." another boy, presumably the setter, scoffs and mutters under his breath.
"sure! uh, if that's okay with you, coach," hinata adds hastily. ukai nods, and he turns to kageyama. "did you bring your court shoes?"
"obviously. did you?"
hinata pulls open his drawstring bag. "yeah!"
they put their shoes on and step onto the court. it's like they're in their first year again, discovering the tools that'll help them succeed, unafraid to drop whatever is no longer useful. "do you still remember how it's done?" hinata asks, picking up a ball.
"you don't just forget how to do it," kageyama retorts. "dumbass."
hinata laughs and tosses the ball. he makes his approach, arms pulled back, leaping into the air in the blink of an eye, the ball already arching at where his contact point is. he spikes, the ball landing with a resounding echo.
applause erupts, along with requests for them to do it again. hinata turns and extends his fist, kageyama knocking his own against his. maybe there will be a day when they'll be on the same team again, but until then, the synergy they shared will remain dormant, always ready to cause a spark.
"don't be strangers!" ukai calls out as they get ready to leave. "come by and visit whenever you have time!"
"yeah!" hinata jumps to his feet, his former teammates behind him. "see you later, coach!"

I love how different Reigen's boys are. Mob, naïve and hopeful as he is, would confess to his shishou multiple times, especially once he's older, even though deep down he knows that it's not so easy to earn Reigen's acception — not for his young old feelings, at the very least. But he would try, again and again, touching Shishou the ways he shouldn't, his eyes always tracing Reigen's frame, and following his measured steps. Mob isn't the one to give up.
Ritsu, on the other hand, is logical and pragmatic, he stands firmly on the ground and not flies between the clouds like his nii-san. He sees reality a little more clearly, a little more pessimistically, his vision is not blurred by love or hope or Reigen-san's kindness. Reigen is kind, Ritsu can admit it now — never to Reigen personally, though. So Ritsu knows more than anyone that this kindness would never let this man accept a confession from someone so young, someone he cared for when they were a kid. That doesn't stop Ritsu from showing his affection towards Reigen-san in his own reserved and modest ways. Ritsu is the one who loves quietly.
And Teru, oh boy, where do I start with Teru? Firstly, he's a mix of both Kageyama brothers: bright and hopeful as Mob is, but isn't straightforward and persistent enough. Realistic like Ritsu, but not reserved and shy enough. He's aware of Reigen's morals, he's aware of how Reigen sees him and Mob and Ritsu — as kids. Yet he can't help but flirt; it's just who Hanazawa Teruki is, playful nature, starry eyes, gentle touch, and kind smiles that make all the girls melt into a puddle. He's a gentleman: he carries Reigen-san's bags after a shopping, and helps him put on his coat when they need to walk out of the office or the restaurant, or even offers to pay for Reigen's drinks and food. He gives him compliments. Reigen is visibly uncomfortable with everything, always rejecting Teru and his generous offers and his more-than-just-polite help, but Teru is unable to stop. He likes to surprise Reigen-san, his best friend's crush and long-term shishou. He likes to see how Kageyama-kun's eyes grow wide and dark with jealousy. Teru is a golden retriever boy, but he's also confident and competitive. He's the one to fuel the fire of rivalry.

Labyrinth
Tumblr media
Synopsis: After having a bad day, Nishinoya was unexpectedly there for you. And you might have realized something.
Google play Labyrinth by Taylor Swift
Warnings: Trauma, family problem, mentions of blood (period)
A/N: English is not my first language so please pardon my English. Grammatical errors Ahead!
******
"Rolling.... Thunder!" Nishinoya yuu is at it again. The team continued practicing for the tournament. Tsukki and Yamaguchi snickered at the back as Nishinoya shouted at them to stop.
"Stop it or I'll screw you assess!" He yelled at them but Tuskki only retorted, "Well at least try to reach us before saying that."
Nishinoya tried to argue but Daichi intervened. The usual captain on watch. "Nishinoya that's enough. Your mouth is like an alarm that can't stop." He scolded making the boy stop.
You chuckled to yourself watching the scene. You stood beside Kiyoko and Yachi. You can't lie, that move didn't fail to let out a laugh out of you. He has always been that energetic senior.
"Nishinoya-san's energetic as always." Yachi commented as if you nodded in agreement.
Nishinoya has always been like that. By accident, you heard the reason why he chose this school and that's because of the uniform, especially for the girls. He was another dumbass along with Tanaka. They both worship the path that Kiyoko walked on.
You on the other hand found yourself watching him from afar. He's only part of the team, your senior only by a year.
At the end of the practice. You helped them to clean up. Yachi is with Kiyoko, taking notes here and there. You're just another manager for the team once the 3rd year's are ready to go to unis.
From afar you saw Hinata tripped over a ball which makes Kageyama let out his usual line. "Hinata Boke! Boke Hinata!" Of course there's Tsukki who wouldn't fail to rail up the two, Yama who's trying to stop the giant cheese. The second years watching them as they continue to fold the net. Daichi in captain mode as usual, Asahin trying to calm him while Sugawara checked on Hinata.
"Y/N, I gave Yachi the notes. Please review them." You looked at your side and saw Kiyoko. How can you blame the two? She's like a goddess. She's also concerned about her teammates as the manager, she just doesn't really show it but you've noticed it.
"Noted that, senpai." You replied giving her a smile.
"Kiyoko-san!" Tanaka almost practically yelled, clasping his hands in a dramatic gesture. "Did you see my receive during practice? It was flawless, right?" His eyes almost sparkled as he talked to her. Beside him, Nishinoya was practically bouncing on his toes, his actions mirroring Tanaka's.
"Yeah, Kiyoko-san, did you see my dive save? That was the best one yet, right?" His hands made exaggerated motions as he mimicked the move in the air, looking expectantly at her.
Kiyoko, calm as ever, nodded politely, her expression unchanging. "Yes, I saw. You both did well."It was a simple compliment, but to Tanaka and Nishinoya, it was everything. They froze, wide-eyed, processing her words before bursting into cheers that echoed through the gym.
"She noticed, she noticed!" Tanaka chanted, practically vibrating with excitement. "This is the best day of my life!"
Nishinoya threw an arm around Tanaka’s shoulders, laughing as they both did a little victory dance. "We did it, man! Kiyoko-san thinks we’re amazing!"
You couldn’t help but chuckle under your breath, watching them celebrate as if they'd just won a championship. Kiyoko glanced at you, her expression softening just a bit, a small, amused smile tugging at her lips.
"They never give up, do they?" you murmured, grinning.
Kiyoko shook her head. "Not at all," she replied, a hint of warmth in her voice. Despite her usual reserved demeanor, you could tell she was used to their antics and maybe even fond of them in her own way.
You chuckled as you stared at the two. They're one of the bunch of idiots of Karasuno. You don't know them well but who knows, this year may be one of your best years in school.
*******
It's early in the morning and you're ready to go to school. You only need to eat your breakfast before leaving so you sit at the dining table beside your grandma. "Morning grandma." You greeted as she nodded and treated you in return.
"Tell your coach that you have to go home early tomorrow." You mother placed down your breakfast in front of you. "Why?" You asked as you started to eat.
"Your dad is coming with your sibling. It's her birthday." She explained before sitting down. You paused and looked at your mother.
Out of the blue? You haven't seen your father since you were like 9 and now he'll comeback with your half-sis? He chose his mistress over you and your mom. Leaving you two alone, forcing your mom to leave you in your grandparents care so she can work and make money twice as much as she can.
You're not immature to hate the child, she's your sister after all and she didn't ask to be born. Your mom also talked to you about it. The child is innocent. It was your dad and his mistress'fault.
But you were left alone.
"Why?" You manage to ask again. Emotions building up in your chest. It's a mixture of anger, sadness and almost of everything. It's stupid how you wanted to say something but you can't.
"He wanted you and your sister to meet. You also haven't seen him for almost half a decade now, right? It's all gonna be fine---"
"No it's not." You blurted out making your mom and grandma startled. You didn't yell but your words are hard enough to startled them. The grip in your utensils tightened as you looked at your mom. "Tell them not to come." You demanded in a calm tone.
"Y/N. I didn't raise you to be rude. He's still your father." Your mom's tone is more serious now than a moment ago.
"When? As much as I remember he was a terrible father and a husband." You retorted feeling the ache in your throat. So many words want to come out but you don't want to hurt your mom.
"He wanted to make up for the years he wasn't here." When you looked at your mom you saw the anger in her face. Before, when you saw the glimpse of that expression you're already flushing your words in the toilet. But that's not today.
You stood up, "Might I remind you how he beat us?! Or did you forget that? I remember that night until today. Did you forget how he uses your money to fucked whores--!"
Slap!
You felt the sting after your mom's hand landed on your left cheek. Then it burst out. Your tears started to stream down to your cheeks as you turned your face looking at your mom. You know you're not a planned child. It was a one night stand and both of their parents wanted them to get married and take responsibility for you. You sometimes thought maybe it was your fault for all of this.
Just by simply existing.
"M/N (mom's name) Stop this at once!" Your grandma intervened and checked on the cheek where she slapped you.
You continue to stare at your mother. Trauma was a bad thing but maybe it did you a favor for giving you emotional intelligence. Your mom was once a girl, she has siblings. Your grandpa was a strict yet doting husband and loving father. You're an only child, grew up without a father, barely grew up with your mom. Maybe that's the difference between you two. The thing your mom seems not to understand is the grudge you have for your dad.
You stare at her giving the look of the daughter that their mother could see themselves. You knew it's cruel but you wanted her to know, and your father to know that you're not forgiving as his wife is. You can see the twitch in your mom's eyes as she looks at you.
You wiped your tears and breathed out, "I'm not going home tomorrow to greet that man. If he wanted me to see him, he can prove that he's actually willing to make up for his mistakes by apologizing to you first." You calmly said before taking your bag and leaving.
You loved your mother you really do. You just have this thing where you two fought and it leaves a big space between you two.
******
The day went on. There's no practice. The basketball team is on today's schedule for practice. For the whole day you felt listless. You stare at the window for most of the day and your mind is sailing. You can also add the ache in your abdomen. You can already feel your period coming in a few days.
You walked toward the vending machines, trying to shake off the heaviness that clung to you all day. A snack. But just as you reached for your wallet, an uncomfortable warmth spread down your leg. You froze, dread settling over you like a weight.
When you catch a glimpse of yourself in a nearby glass reflection, your heart sank. There, on the back of your skirt, was a dark, unmistakable stain. Heat flooded your face as you quickly ducked beneath a staircase, nerves frayed.
Can this day get any worse?
You leaned against the wall, trying to keep your breathing steady, hands fumbling for anything to cover yourself with. You can't go back there having your blood visible in your skirt or worse, streaming down between your legs. Just as you were running through a mental list of escape plans, you heard a familiar voice.
"Y/N? What’re you doing down here?" Nishinoya’s head appeared around the corner, his usual grin plastered on his face. His energy felt almost overwhelming in your fragile state, but you forced a small smile, hoping to brush him off.
"Just… taking a break," you said, trying to sound casual. "Needed some air."
He tilted his head, "Under the stairs? Really?" He squatted down next to you, studying your face with curious eyes.
You managed a shrug. "It’s... quiet down here," you replied praying in the back of your head that he would already leave.
“I was just walking by, and I thought, ‘Hey, you know who’d be cool to run into right now? Y/N.’ And look who I find!” he laughed a bit. "Did you know they’ve restocked those limited-edition melon buns? I grabbed, like, three! I wanted to share one with you, actually by the next time.”
You smiled weakly, barely able to respond. “That’s… nice, thanks.”
Then, his gaze dropped to your legs, and his smile faded as he noticed the telltale stain. You felt panic start to rise, and looked away, ashamed. You almost felt tears start to form in your eyes.
That situation clicked in his head quickly. Without a word, he slipped off his jacket. "Here," he said softly before standing up and helping you to stand. "Go change. I’ll cover for you." He gave it to your hand with gentleness.
You looked up, surprised. He wasn’t embarrassed, didn’t ask any questions. He just understood. You take him as someone as idiot as Tanaka, they're both dorks but you didn't take him to be this gentle.
It made your heart ache in the best way. "Thank you, Noya," you whispered, struggling to find the right words.
He grinned again, the usual mischief slipping back into his expression. "Hey, that’s what friends are for, right? I’ve got your back. Literally." The world is so mysterious. Just a moment ago you felt like being surrounded by clouds ready to pour its rain but the sun came out and gave you its light in the middle of this day.
Uh oh, I'm falling in love
Oh no, I'm falling in love again
Oh, I'm falling in love
I thought the plane was going down
How'd you turn it right around
'Oh dear God, I grew up being afraid of guys because of my dad. Please don't make me crave for something I fear. For something I hoped to have.'
You laughed, a shaky, relieved sound, and he nudged you gently toward the hall. You couldn't help but feel a little relief in your chest. "Yes. Thank you." As you walked away, you glanced back to see him standing guard, hands on his hips still have that evening smile to assure you.
Your head snapped back to your front. You felt your blood rushing to your cheeks instead of somewhere else. What's this feeling?
*********
The next thing you know after that, you walked to your mom after school and make up what happened in the morning. Apologizing and fixing the misunderstanding.
You lay down in your bed and stare at the ceiling. The cramps are still there but you felt so warm remembering Nishinoya's gesture this afternoon.
"Hey, that’s what friends are for, right? I’ve got your back. Literally." Yeah. It's a friendly gesture. There's nothing more to think about it. But questions started to fill your mind when you realized how your surroundings became vibrant when you remember his grin as he said those words.
You swore to your mom to finish your study first before having a boyfriend. She's strict to you and you've been used to it. But... You're just a girl. She's a girl once too. You're allowed to have these feelings... right? Even tho whatever this is.
You took his jacket. It was small. He's smaller than Hinata is. You wore the jacket for just a bit so the smell of your blood didn't really stay. You lean and smell what Nishinoya's clothes smell like. It actually smells like him. But now, it felt like it gave you comfort you didn't ask but somehow it gave you something.
Then, your eyes snapped open realizing what the heck you're doing. Thinking about it, you wanted to smack yourself for doing it. You felt like a creep for a moment before standing up and throwing the whole thing in the laundry.
What the hell was that? Brother ughh
You can already picture everything in your mind if you're in Nishinoya's position. He gave you his uniform to help you in your problem then you proceeded to smell his uniform like a creep? Really Y/N? What're you gonna do next, stalk him?
While waiting for the washing machine to do its job you smacked both of your cheeks trying to get yourself out of the embarrassment.
"Y/N?" Your grandma peeked out from the door as she saw you. "You alright?" She asked, concerned that the screws in your head are already loose.
"Y-yes..." You thought for a moment for an excuse, "T-there's a mosquito so..."
Your grandma squint her eyes behind her eyeglass before shaking her head and leaving. "Kids this days..." You heard her as she went somewhere.
'Come on please... Can an earthquake happen tonight?'
******
A/N: Y'all I just wanna share this one cause I really love Nishinoya. I already started part 2 for KUROO so that's the next thing I will post I just have to finish some of the assignments. I swear this whole thing is better in my mind.
Part 2?

what haikyuu characters would major in at My College™ -karasuno edition!-
it is summer i am not at my institution of learning but i thought this would be fun ! we have some quirky majors and everyone is a double major or has a major and a minor… very rare for someone to just major in one thing lol
daichi - oh he’s definitely political science and political economy and public policy, perhaps on the pre-law track. also would consider public health (haha that’s my major!) major or minor with a focus in public safety or workplace health
sugawara - suga is so psychology major on the education track (we don’t have an education major, but we do have the track and a graduate program)
asahi - unfortunately my school doesn’t have fashion design, however, we do have a large theatre program with a subcategory in stage management, design & technical theatre and i think he’d like the costume design aspect. another area i could see him in is studio art or art history. definitely intertwined with the art department :)
nishinoya - hot take maybe but anthropology and definitely international studies! i think he’d also fight the school to go abroad multiple times
tanaka - might be a different take but i think he’d start out as business administration or finance because he didn’t really know what he wanted to do, but then he took a random sociology course for a credit and fell in love with it, leading to a double major
ennoshita - this man is so obviously biology on the pre-med track, mr. physical therapist
kinoshita - business administration i can feel it in my bones,,, with a sustainability studies minor
narita - another business administration guy, but i would consider adding in finance major or the innovation and entrepreneurship minor
kageyama - ooo i get to have fun with this one! i could totally see him as a media & communications major or a sociology major for the analysis purposes (i think after his volleyball career he’d become a sports journalist or analyst) and for where he ends up in present day, i grant him an italian studies minor
hinata - i get to have fun with hinata too! he’s sooo definitely on the education track (he’s a great teacher), but with particular majors i can see him in international studies or media & communication (more the latter, kind of for the same reasons as kageyama) and a minor in latin american and caribbean studies!
tsukishima - oh this is so easy. double history and accounting major (he wanted something practical mixed in with his passion), and an analytics minor
yamaguchi - my boy! i think he’d take an interdisciplinary approach to mathematics with a focus in business and technology (perhaps a computer science minor?), but there’s also sustainability studies and information systems management incorporated in his degree somehow :)
kiyoko - i’m heading way off from canon, but i totally think she’s on the pre-med track with a biochemistry major looking to pursue a medical leadership certificate or graduate degree. it just feels right to me.
yachi - babygirl is so vibing in the studio arts major, but for practical application she’s also majoring/minoring in media & communications. can’t convince me otherwise that she’s a women and gender studies minor.
this was so much fun!!! i’m definitely going to be expanding upon this universe, since i already have a bunch of ideas lingering in my head. next, i’ll be doing other secondary characters’ majors and minors !

what is your favorite hc of kageyama?
i know you say hc as in singular but i have never been normal a day in my life so here’s 9
1. kageyama being a good cook and just being good at household chores in general
2. chronically offline kageyama tobio you are so real to me (just in general he doesn’t really watch tv, use social media, keeps up to date with like gossip and stuff)
3. Kageyama BELOVED BY FANBOYS Tobio - not really kageyama hc but kageyama related his fanbase being mostly made up of boys
4. high school kageyama using the opportunity of people confessing to him to invite them to support karasuno at their official matches - he was vvv polite about it after the first 2-3 times
5. if he needs advice to interpret or prepare for social interactions he asks his sugawara-senpai
6. kageyama gets sunburnt super easy even after applying sunscreen
7. kageyama instagram is real and true except everyone thinks it’s not real cause all he posts is blurry scenery and cats running away from him
8. as per my last point kageyama does not know how to take selfies or photos in general he acc hates it
9. miwa and kageyama truly reconnect after high school
10. when he says smth petty he looks at his suga-senpai for praise

If u still write for Haikyuu, I have this little yan!Sugawara x fem!reader concept: Reader is a new 1-2nd year at Karasuno who got dared to disguise as a boy and join the boys volleyball team as a dare but actually got in, so now she has to keep up her disguise until graduation. For some reason, the other boys dont realize and just think Reader is a really feminine dude with a manbun💀 (reader never cut her hair)
One time, Sugawara just accidently finds out reader's gender because he came over to her house once and reader PANICS. Like "OHMYGODPLEASEDONTTELLANYONEATSCHOOLABOUTHISISWEARI'LLDOLITERALLYANYTHING-" readers thinks shes cooked as hell basically (she kinda is)
(I'm sorry if this is too much, what I just wrote is a whole fanfic 💀)
Oh. Right! Okay, normal love(what I got from your follow-up). I do not like when the request is written for me but you know what. I really like this concept, it’s got so many Mulan vibes and I’m gonna do it! Thank you for the Haikyuu request, I haven’t written for Haikyuu in such a long time
Koshi Sugawara- Red Handed
Tumblr media
Koshi Sugawara has really been suspicious of you since the first time you entered the Gymnasium… you proclaim you’re a boy, you do… look like one, no real feminine body parts so that’s a good sign but you’re also kinda curvy, kinda delicate and have a long man-bun. Well, he can’t really talk much about man buns… Asahi
However, he always felt like there was more with you than meets the eye, it is a feeling stirring in his gut for such a long time now yet it laid dormant for as long, out of how nonsensical it truly is. He just knew it, he just didn’t want to speak up
That’d just be plain rude
This day flies by as every other day, Koshi watching over and working with both Ukai and Daichi to watch over the second and first years of the volleyball club. Hinata and Kageyama eagerly but competitively throwing spikes and hits to each other over the court and the net. Tsukishima just listening to his dear friend, Yamaguchi‘s comments. Nishinoya and Tanaka making quite the big deal over Kiyoko giving them wet towels whilst basically worshipping her every breath, during the break the whole team are taking… but where are you?
Koshi wanted to explore where you are and find out why you always hid away after each break but he is way too polite and well-mannered to dare make his own big deal over you so whilst he watches you arrive back to the court… he thinks you’re odd, always thinks you’re odd. Such a feminine curvy ‘man’ you are, he wonders why but he doesn’t want to press on it too much
After a few more hours, the club finally closes off for the day and as every member begins to clean off, Koshi’s eyes naturally begun to smoothly follow you once more he is done packing up the team’s uniforms, whose is helping Tanaka put away the net on the net set into the storage closet
How weird… but not that important
Koshi is the last member of the club to leave, taking over specific maintaining and cleaning duties off the Coaches and Managers so they can get home and rest sooner, he always wishes to help them as they work so hard for him and the team. His footsteps lightly tap and skid on the slippery wood plane floor of the school’s infamous gymnasium
The keys jiggling loudly in his pant pockets as he checks over the private locker room, going a double check to ensure that no sensitive belongings or important items are left behind and well, yes. There was something… something of yours, your personal club jacket, spotted from the corner of his eyes at your changing locker
Koshi cannot just leave this behind as he picks it up smoothly, his thumbs tracing over the silky soft black fabric and reading over your last name stamped on the back. It’s not even just that, he can feel something harder in the pocket and finds out it’s your phone, making the need to give it back to you more urgent
He does know your address, as all personal information is written down then hidden away by Kiyoko for any possible emergencies. Since you’re also a member of the team, your number and address is dotted down like the rest, including himself
He knows it’s immortal to snoop through confidential information for unnecessary reasons but he doesn’t see it as anymore good to simply leave this possession in the gymnasium where it could possibly be taken by another Club’s members or a faculty member
Koshi, after a few seconds of deep thought and his eyes glued to the folded cellphone his hand is holding through the black club jacket’s pocket, decides that he must personally head to your home and deliver your valuable item himself as he doesn’t want to bother any of your friends nor any of his own teammates to drop it
Setting off on a grave trip to your place after pushing through his own moral thoughts screaming at him to just take your phone number and call you and tell you to come pick up your jacket holding your valuable phone, he can’t bring himself to do so as he locks up the gym slowly and steadily as well as with not even a loud breath leaving him. It’ll be okay
That’s all he tells himself
Koshi, after an almost painful walk with how heavy his heart is over his guilt and shame… he doesn’t know how long this trip took but he didn’t necessarily care, his hands and arms almost possessively clung on the jacket to ensure he won’t lose any little piece of it. He may be a bit suspicious off you but you’re a good kid at the end of the day
He reached a rather pretty looking house in the ordinary neighbourhood of this pretty little town calls theirs, bracing forward with an explanation buried in the wired nerves of his brain and edging on the tip of his tongue. Stopping right before the door, Koshi politely knocks
Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock
Then silence falls upon himself and the already quiet household for a few long uncomfortable seconds until it swings open and his eyes widen in surprise… that… is you. This pretty girly girl before him, looks so much like you and the way she flinches and her hand tightens on the doorknob. He has a feeling it may just be you
The new member of the Volleyball club, the ‘boy’ whose man bun could give Asahi a run for his money. However, Koshi shoves it aside for now, suspecting it may just be a sister of yours and he is not one to create unwanted drama so he politely cracks a pretty smile and offers the jacket before saying
“Here, ma’am. This is for your brother”
You, going to pretend like you aren’t the boy who joined the club, takes the jacket and makes your voice as sweet and girly as possible to try deflect off your own awful deep impression of a male voice when you’re doing this longtime stupid dare at the club. Answering with a thank you, your mother ruins everything by merely saying
“Dokusha, honey! When you’re done at the door, come to the table! It’s time for dinner!”
That’s all Koshi needed to hear and all the locked away supscious he had, are rising from the deep soiled ground to explore… you’re a girl? Well, he kinda assumed so but he also hoped he was just tripping but he isn’t and he couldn’t be more… offended
It didn’t take long for you to begin panicking, like properly panicking as your mother didn’t even know what was truly going on from the kitchen in her peacefully cheerful oblivious little world. With a flustered face and much shame and regret and a weight of million apologises and begs for forgiveness, you begin mindlessly crying out
“OHMYGODPLEASEDONTTELLANYONEATSCHOOLABOUTTHISISWEARILLDOLITERALLYANYTHINGSUGAWARA-SAN!IWASDAREDTOATTENDTHECLUBBY MYFRIENDS,I’MSORRY!”
Koshi is quite mad at what he has found this very second as you spill out all your guts through begs for him to spare you, the truth about the ‘boy’ he had many suspicions on for such a while yet had always respected by never speaking on. You’re not a boy at all. You lied right to his face?! All for some dumb little dare from some friends! You don’t need to do this! You committed a minor case of fraud, something very immorally wrong
Whilst he is furious, he isn’t heartless
He gets that children like you make dumb mistakes. He makes dumb mistakes… a lot and he won’t throw the book at you for this, even if it’s wrong. He just will give you a long LONG lecture about why this is bad, to never do it again and work to try get you onto the girls’ Volleyball team. If you’re that interested in Volleyball
Koshi eventually manages to find his voice again after examining every part of you with his sharp eyes to remind himself once more that this is real, maintaining his usual composure and poise in a flash, as to not scare you off. He’s mad but he does kinda understand where you come from
“Dokusha… after dinner, do you have a minute to talk? We… need to discuss a number of things”

haikyuu boys meeting your family! gn!reader
content warning: fluff, established relationship with reader
a/n: i chose 2 bois from karasuno!! stay tuned for a pt 2, also a nekoma version
Tumblr media
KAGEYAMA
this boy XD
when you first told him that your parents would like to meet him, he nearly choked ("er, excuse me?")
so there he is at the day of the dinner, with rather fancy clothes on, standing at your doorstep, debating whether to ring the doorbell or to knock
when to his shock the door is abruptly opened by you
and you see him in a suit like-?
he has a little flower bouquet for your mother (he got that advice from suga) which he stiffly grips at his side when he sees your dad
i mean, you told him not to be nervous, it's just a casual dinner
he wanted to impress your family
when he sees your mom he fumbles around before giving the bouquet to her, saying that those are for her
throughout the whole dinner he is answering and asking questions very unnaturally politely
SUGAWARA
he's not very nervous!
to be honest, i feel like he'd be the type to meet your parents before he dates you (but whatever)
when you told him that your parents would like to have him come over for dinner, he was actually very happy ("really? what should i bring?" " you don't have to bring anything!!")
(he brings a whole casserole)
so when he is at your house, he introduces himself properly, and then he spies a little sibling!! (pretend you have one)
he goes up to them and says hi (he would like little kids :3)
he plays with them as if they were his own sibling, and now he has befriended a little tot!!
your parents like him!
he gives your mother a little present, and compliments her
he actually gets along very well with your dad! he tells your dad lots of things about himself

re: headcanon suggestions !
what do tha boys do when they're tired but can't sleep? do they stare at the ceiling or spiral into thought or get up and do something else until an ungodly hour?
hope sleep finds you soon nini </3
- ada ♡
𖦹°。⋆ haikyuu boys when they can't sleep
Tumblr media
⟡ cw: none
⟡ a/n: LOL i just realized i accidentally deleted the post asking for suggestions </3 im so tired idk what im doing anymore but yay omg i'll do this.
these are all i could come up with lol
Tumblr media
would stare at the ceiling thinking it's the best option but actually slowly loses their mind.
these boys would be responsible and think that if they were to do anything else then yeah, they'd fully be awake. especially if they were to go on their phone because you know blue light and all. they wouldn't even get out of bed to stretch or anything because they're worried that they'd get a second wind and immediately not feel sleepy anymore. unfortunately for them, they still aren't falling asleep and are starting to go insane because they're so bored but so tired but are still holding on until they fall asleep. next thing they know, the birds are chirping and the sun is rising. they end up screaming into their pillow before getting ready for the long day ahead of them.
- ushijima, daichi, suga, iwaizumi, aran, kita, sakusa, kyotani
would start thinking about things that happened years ago
these boys would want to be part of the ceiling group but they end up cringing at everything because their brains decided to remind them of something they did years ago. all they can do is continuously face palm every time a new embarrassing memory pops into their mind. like why did he cry and throw a tantrum first year of high school when their crush politely rejected them? 'oh remember when you tripped in front of the whole school during a fire drill because you wanted to go see your friend?'. thinking about something that wasn't even his fault too like when a kid threw up on him in kindergarten. anything under the sun to make this man feel embarrassed enough that he practically forces himself to sleep as best as he can.
- osamu, asahi, kindaichi, yamaguchi, kinoshita, akaashi, kageyama, goshiki
would play games on their phones
these boys wouldn't even try to sleep lol. they're immediately go on their phones and play dumb mobile games just to pass the time. it pays off in the end though because guess who has the highest score in the country for subway surfers? that's right this guy right here. they'd also probably download all the papas pizzeria games (yes they would pay for them) but end up getting frustrated because why the fuck did wally give them a 98% on the order station???
- kenma, suna, kunimi, matsukawa, nishinoya, shirabu, semi
have a dance party/pretend concert
these boys like to take their sleeplessness in stride and just throw on some banging music and dance around like nobody's business. they'll even turn on their led lights to simulate a dance club or something! they're having the time of their lives while they sing into a water bottle pretending it's a microphone and pretending that they're on a world tour performing for their adoring fans. they eventually tire themselves out and pass out on the floor.
- bokuto, makki, tsukishima (weird ik but let me have this</3), yamaoto, atsumu, tanaka, tendou
would call a friend
if they can't sleep, neither can their friends. they cannot stand the thought of being so bored in the middle of the night and they've already exhausted all other options so they decide to call up their best friend over and over again until they pick up. doesn't matter if the friend ends up being mad at them they just want company dude. after a few minutes though they'll start to fall asleep and snore loudly into the phone causing the other person to get annoyed and scream into the phone to wake them up and hang up because why call them if you're just gonna fall asleep.
- oikawa, lev, kuroo, hinata, fukunaga, komori, terushima,
