why the fuck are there 8 seasons of television between How To Train Your Dragon 1 and 2 and then there are ZERO EPISODES OF TELEVISION BETWEEN 2 AND 3???

i am just saying: i ALSO want episodes between HTTYD 2 and 3!! give me more show! it can be a continuation (aka the 9th season, technically?) or a new thing (they did that three times with HTTYD's tv show between movie 1 and 2. if you didnt know, those 8 aforementioned seasons make up Riders of Berk, Defenders of Berk, and Race to the Edge. so. id still think of it as a 9th season, ngl, buT YOU CAN PICK A FOURTH TITLE-NAME, SURE)

and like. not the "still the same universe, but unrelated to Hiccup or even his kids" stuff, i havent watched The Nine Realms (2021) or Rescue Riders (2019) or even Rescue Riders: Heroes of the Skies (2021), i have no words about them as i have no experiences with them

im just bewildered that we have HTTYD 2, which came out in 2014. and HTTYD 3 came out in 2019. and no show of any kind came out in-between?? none?

like, initially, i thought we got Nine Realms, Rescue Riders INSTEAD of content about Hiccup and the gang between HTTYD 2 and 3. but nope, you saw the years. the "unrelated to Hiccup and friends"-stuff was all post-2019, aka post-movie-3

instead? there's a couple comics?? what? and they cancelled the comics, im hearing? so there's only like 2 issues of said comics

im just flabbergasted. im reading what they had airing between 2014 - 2019 instead and just... frankly, i dont entirely see why a HTTYD tv show was not in the cards back then?? they worked with a bunch of production companies and were often in co-production for costs, so i just?? am baffled???

When she still lived in Berk she believed that peace was possible with the elves and dragons and did everything she could to convince anyone that they were not bloodthirsty monsters they had to fight. But of course no one believed her.

And so when she got taken by a dragon, after defending it and saving it's life during a raid, she figured that maybe Berk was hopeless and decided to stay in Xadia. (is this a flawed decision?? oh 100%. This action will have consequences in the future ;D)

And now 18 years later, she lives in the Uncharted Forest, helping and healing injured creatures and dragons and giving them a safe haven to reside in. She doesn't get many visitors, mainly because of the boundary spells that are set around her home, but she does get visits from her Sunfire elf friend who drops by from time to time to fill her in on things and ask for her help.

Recently though he's been trying to figure out what's been causing a corruption in the creatures of the region, and asked for her to keep an eye out for anything strange. Aside from that, the only other news Sandy has to share is that there's been a Sunfire elf terrorizing Berk. How strange. :)

It felt like the time he'd breathed in too much Zippleback gas and couldn't catch his breath. The same wool-headed feeling, shaky knees, roiling stomach, fuzzy vision, but this time he was pretty sure it wasn't dragon-related.

No, he suspected it had something to do with the cloth being shoved under his nose.

He'd been so paranoid about this all night, and the one moment he let his guard down, he was being dragged across the plaza while the stars spun dizzily. The two thugs were silent, professional, and very strong. Hiccup wanted to struggle, but whatever they'd forced him to inhale was hitting him like a speeding dragon.

Squeezing his eyes shut to stave off the nausea of watching the world spin, he tried to get his feet under him, but they felt like they were dissolving. His face, what he could feel of it, was drenched in sweat, and he felt sickened at the idea that his body was letting this happen. It was caving to whatever chemical was still being shoved almost up his nose, and he was completely powerless.

The men had him out of Berk and onto the docks in a few muzzy minutes. Hiccup could hear the creak of oars in a rowing boat, feel the wet chill of the bilges they'd dropped him into. His vision refused to cooperate even when he opened his eyes, and he gagged as the world lurched and spun. One man growled in disgust and kicked Hiccup's shoulder. Hiccup managed to keep his dinner down as the little rowboat left the harbor.

He groaned. Whatever was doing this to him, it had the heavy feeling of something that would linger. Was Astrid right? Should he have told his father about Viggo, the bounty, his narrow escapes? Stoick's voice, warped and modulated by the drug but still firm and furious, sounded in his mind.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

took a break to stop screaming at the ONE PART of the chapter I’m working on (which is the VERY last scene and a half of the entire thing, btw, which makes it all the more frustrating that words refuse to come) to do some doodles that I told myself to wait to do until i finished the chapter. And by doodles i mean out of context storyboard scenes. I have a few different sets to post

Most of these are actually from the next few chapters in a row, or the chapter i’m working on, save for two. I will not say which two. That’s the whole point of ‘out of context’

The days continue and I have another dragon to share! The mudraker dragon, less known and first seen in the video game dragon: ride of berk, the mudrakers live in swamps and basically blind using echolocation to navigate under the swampy water

this is dragons 2/83 for my book of dragons that I’m making :)
