Sometimes new parts of a series are like fanfic in that the older story was about something else, and the new part is about the story. If that makes sense.
#because you tell a story to explore something like#geopolitics or what happens if we expand the definition of humanity#what if etc#and then fanfic is fun because its people who love the story#exploring the story#but you never want a story that is only exploring itself#idk#thats why i dont like original projects that feel like fanfic

That one post of my mine predictably aged like fine wine. Never let somebody on comic twitter in the writer's roomššš Like imagine a 1 to 1 adaptation of literally any event?? -1b at the box office. "Who are these people???"
#Anywayyy I'm writing a retelling of DC and it is honestly so fun to imagine the characters in a new but familiar light#Like the biggest reason why I was never interested in writing fanfic before 2 months ago is because I never felt like those characters were#I felt... uncomfortable writing it not because i thought fanfic was bad or anything but because I felt it was weird to write for example#āXYZ DID THIS AND DID THAT AND DID THISā like maybe he did?? I wouldn't know I don't know him like his creator!!!#But comic characters feel like more flexible due to the many interpretations over the years but firm enough where I can decide how to take#Certain traits and minimize them or expand on them#Also 1 to 1 adaptations suck balls to write. I'm not sure if that's universal but the whole fun of writing is coming up with new ideas#Writing a straight adaptation would be kind of writing a translation into a new medium. Which isn't bad. Novelization are literally those#But a common sentiment among writers I've seen is that Novelizations aren't that fun either unless you get to experiment either#Adapting comics into a new format and retelling them is kind of hell because you have all these intersecting plotlines and insane events#That's just tangled up in a story with a timeline that literally makes its contradictions into plot lines. But it's FUN coming up with ways#To condense a character's origin and sort of rewire it into the story you want to tell. Because yeah I think a lot of people miss is#that at end of the day#you tell stories about people and their struggles. You need to find a way to fit those moments of joy sadness love.#Like a movie about Jason Todd being RH will never be emotional as Jason Todd dying because you'll have less time to feel the love and pain#that Bruce felt for him. Like sure#flashbacks and exposition but that can only go so far. At the end of the day#It will always be about RH vs Batman. That's what people came to see. But that's not all Jason is. He was Robin before he was RH. A 1 to 1#Adaptation will never translate that to screen. Plus you (sadly) have shared universes now and a movie can only jump around in time so much#For example in my fic if I wanted to add Tim and faithful to his source material I would need to add so MUCH about Jason death#About like Bruce grieving without skipping all over that and missing the human element. It would severely mess up pacing.#I don't know i love how adaptations can make you see the characters in a new light or elevate the source material#Iwtv my beloved doesn't adapt the books exactly but reimagined in it a way that I like much more#Anyway this proves my point about comic fans being weirdly childish and omfg I hate to use this term...anti intellectual š®āšØš®āšØš®āšØ#Everyone who writes or yknow reads should like understand this on a fundamental level. One to one adaptations are safe but boring.#Like the Psycho remake was bad not because it made bad changes but it barely made any changes.#Anyway watch amc iwtv to understand good adaptations better than your average comic stan on twtter#Not a rant I just love discussing adaptations#Long tags

Trans made TTRPGs
Due toā¦ recent events that I would rather not talk about, today's post is a highlight of different tabletop games made by trans peeps! These games are fantastic in their own right, of course, but you can also know that they were made by incredibly cool and attractive people
(Also, these are flyover descs of the game, they'll get more in-depth singular posts later, this is because I am lazy)
Perfect Draw is a phenomenal card game TTRPG that was funded in less than a day on backerkit, it's incredibly fun and has simple to learn hard to master rules for creating custom cards, go check it out!
Songs for the dusk is fucking good, pardon my language, but it's a damn good post apocalyptic game about building community in a post-capitalist-post-apocalypse-post-whatever world. do yourself a favor and if you only check out one game in this list, check this one out, its a beautiful game.
Flying Circus is set in a WW1 inspired fantasy setting full of witches, weird eldritch fish people (who are chill as hell), cults, dead nobility, and other such things. It's inspired by Porco Rosso primarily but it has other touchstones.
Wanderhome is a game about being cute little guys going on a silly adventure and growing as the seasons change, its GMless and very fun
https://weregazelle.itch.io/armour-astir Armour Astir has been featured in here before but its so damn good I had to post it twice. AA demonstrates a fundamental knowledge of the themes of mech shows in a way that very few other games show, its awesome
Kitchen Knightmares isā¦ more of a LARP but its still really dang cool, its about being a knight serving people in a restaurant, its played using discord so its incredibly accessible
https://grimogre.itch.io/michtim Michtim is a game about being small critters protecting their forest from nasty people who wish to harm it, not via brutal violence (sadly) but via friendship and understanding (which is a good substitute to violence)
ok this technically doesn't count but I'm putting it here anyways cuz its like one of my favorite ttrpgs of all time TSL is a game about baring your heart and dueling away with people who you'll probably kiss 10 minutes later, its very very fanfic-ey and inspired by queer narratives. I put it here because its made by a team, and the expansion has a setting specifically meant to be a trans "allegory", so I'll say it counts, honestly just go check it out its good shit
https://willuhl.itch.io/mystic-lilies
Mystic Lillies is a game inspired by ZUN's Touhou Project about witches dueling powerful foes, each other, and themselves. Mystic Lillies features rapid character creation and a unique diceless form of rolling which instead uses a standard playing card deck.
https://preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/141424/nobilis-the-game-of-sovereign-powers-2002-edition Iā¦ want to do a more general overview on Jenna K as an important figure in indie RPG design, but for now just know that Nobilis is good
https://temporalhiccup.itch.io/apocalypse-keys Apocalypse Keys is a game inspired by Doom Patrol, Hellboy, X-men, and other comics about monstrousness being an allegory for disenfranchisement. Apocalypse Keys is also here because its published by Evilhat so its very cleaned up and fancy but I love how the second you check out the dev's other stuff you can tell they are a lot more experimental with their stuff, this is not a critique, it is in fact a compliment
Fellowship! I've posted about this game before, but it is again here. Fellowship has a fun concept that it uses very well mostly, its a game about defining your character's culture, and I think that's really really cool
Voidheart Symphony is a really cool game about psychic rebellion in a city that really does not like you, the more you discover for yourself the better
Panic at the Dojo is a phenomenal ttrpg based on what the Brazilian would call "Pancadaria", which basically means, fucking other's people shit up. Character Creation is incredibly open and free, meaning that many character concepts are available
Legacy 2e is a game about controlling an entire faction's choices across time, its very fun
remember to be kind to a trans person today! oh also don't even try to be transphobic in the reblogs or replies, you will be blocked so fast your head will spin
#indie ttrpg#ttrpg community#ttrpg indie#ttrpg#trans creator#trans#trans pride#queer#queer creator#perfect draw#wanderhome#songs for the dusk#flying circus#armour astir#michtim#thirsty sword lesbians#mystic lillies#apocalypse keys#fellowship#ttrpg of the day

Been mulling over Titans Tower and it's really interesting to me how it's treated in Fanon as compared to how the events transpired in canon. it's a really fun topic! Honestly, the original writing in canon is DOGSHITE but not for the usual reasons people cite.
Here's what does make sense in canon but is largely ignored (this is using canon characterisations at the time): First, it's all about the whole Titans team, not just Tim. They really downplay his death a lot, did not put up his statue or honour him whatsoever. Plus the hero community tends to victim-blame him a fuckton. Jason is showing that his death could've happened to anyone. Second, Tim and Jason are just two yearish apartāJay died at 15, Tim becomes Robin at 13āso those Titans are more like his colleagues than anything else; he's not some older guy beating the shit outta them. Third, Timās indifference to Jason's comments and his cockiness about being a better Robin are pretty on-brand for his early portrayal as Robin. (I think fanon Tim derives a lot of his characteristics from his Red Robin run, which is valid as well! But here in particular we have Robin Tim... who... was... uh... a bit of an asshole when he was written back then and the HUBRIS on that man? Immaculate.)
What still makes this absolutely dog shit is the dialogue and how Jason is pouring his heart out to someone who he doesn't really care about. Jason... just doesn't operate this way... Why's he trauma dumping on... tim... ???? It makes no sense whatsoever because Jason really is someone who'd keep those vulnerabilities to himself. Why would he open up to... CANON TIM??? He makes scathing remarks when faced with Bruce and Dick because he knows the knife twists then and at he cares about their reaction. But not tim ????? Canon UTRH doesn't even mention Tim ????? ???? So in the end it's still shit imo.
I also find the use of Pit Madness in fanon super interesting, despite it not being canon. It's used to propel the Titan's Tower incident, which fascinates me because it shows how people are willing to work around its flaws to maintain consistent characterization in their works (which is !!! cool !!)
It's so interesting how many other incidents that do occur in canon aren't as well known as this one aren't given much thought. But this one is and it's interesting how people try to work with it regardless of it's flaws originally!
I'd really love to hear your opinions about it and how flexible you are with the Titans tower incident! :) How do you work with your Jason and your Tim? because it's cool to hear your analysis etc etc
Hooo boi okay i was planning on replying to this earlier but this deserves a proper, thought out response (which Iām shite at but Iām trying here. Words are hard.)
For one, I wholeheartedly agree with the whole trauma dumping thing.
Obviously we all have different tastes in media and I know there are quite a few people who enjoyed the confrontation with Tim, which is totally fine, but personallyā¦ yeah, not my thing.
I got into the Batman/batfam fandom via fanfic, so my first introduction was some version of Titans Tower I believe. I was super intrigued by the characters and the tidbits of lore sprinkled throughout that I immediately began reading up on them and digging through the internet for more info and background story on them. Which then quickly evolved into the part where my adoration for Jasonās character began and a short phase where I absolutely despised early canon Tim.
Likeā all the victim blaming. He seriously couldnāt mention Jason without adding something derogatory about getting himself killed, which sat so, so wrong with me. Not to mention the Titans just accepting a new Robin right off the bat and joining in blaming Jason for his own death. Iām pretty sure that was the point where I swore off comics for a long while and decided to live off fanon š¤£
And then Jasonās part in the Titans Tower incident. I think part of how weird the canon event was is due in part to how the writers fumbled to depict trauma? Or maybe they just outright hated him because I know a lot of people back then despised Jason and his run as Robin.
Whatever the reason, I think I genuinely cringed when he revealed the Walmart Robin costume he was wearing. And then the trauma dumping.
Jason is smart enough to know Tim wouldnāt care about his grievances. I mean- dude just broke into his hideout to attack him, I think Timās about as done with Jason as with any other criminals, regardless of his past. And all that is proven by Tim fighting back tooth and nail without pause. He doesnāt even react to the accusation of the missing statue in Jasonās honor. Like, he genuinely doesnāt seem to care. And why would he? They donāt know each other.
And yeah maybe he was trying to beat some sense into Tim (which is still wrong butā vigilantes I guess? Idk) and make him quit Robin, but Jasonās also smart enough to know that Robins donāt quit easily. And then, as soon as Tim is down for the count and canāt keep fighting, Jason leaves. Just like that. No actual murder attempt, no kicking-while-heās-down (at least as far as I remember).
It makes no sense. What would Jason be gaining from that encounter? Why would he blame the kid that replaced him and not the guy that did the replacing? Hell, it would make more sense for him to go after the Titans than Tim. Not the mention him casually doubting Timās talents when he must have done some background checks on him.
Itās why I like the idea of Pit Madness I guess, and that Jason actually went to the tower with the intent to kill. Because that way the entire thing wouldnāt seem soā¦ pointless.
As for how flexible I am with the Titans Tower storyline, it really depends on the route people choose to explore. But Iām a huge sucker for the āJason was Timās Robinā trope where thereās at least a mild amount of hero worship going on. šļø Oh, and happy endings. I canāt deal with tragedies.
But yeah these are my thoughts on it. Obviously no hate to whoever enjoyed the comic mentioned above š weāve all got different things we resonate with after all~
#I wish I was more articulate in English but as much as I write fic my brain just BLANKS when I try to respond professionally in English#itās like āyou get to use metaphors but your vocab is void for argumentative convosā#Iām so sorry anon I swear I was trying very hard#I hope some of this is understandable on a deeper level#because I have FEELINGS on this topic#but mostly it boils down to me not being a fan of the canon titans tower incident#ghost talks#jason todd#titans tower incident#Tim drake#red hood#robin

You ever have stages of obsession and depravity when it comes to a character you enjoy? Because that has been me with Gideon Coal of Once Upon a Witchlight fame.
It started with like, oh a himbo built like a brick shithouse, hell yeah. The character art goes hard, the chains are a fun design that makes the silhouette interesting! His dynamic with the other characters is really fun!! Then I read the little character blurb about his back story (as well as just the small comments about his backstory in the actual campaign), and its like ok, that's depressing as hell, but also very interesting!
Then not a second later i get punched in the face with the fucking IMPLICATIONS of Gideon choosing to keep the fucking chains and manacles as his weapons. How they became an extension of his body that only work because he made of fire. How he literally took back his power - which was being used for the train - and have it instead power his weapons, which shackled him to the train. Something something using the objects of your imprisonment as the gateway to your liberation, and then KEEPING them both of a reminder of that imprisonment and as a promise to never let yourself be caged again.
AND THEN in the most recent ep. I watched (ep. 19) with the way he interacts with Twig, who is a deeply lonely character, who was so excited to have guests at her inn because she had been alone for so long that she just immediately attaches herself to them. And for Gideon to just immediately return that energy, for Gideon to just immediately become friends with her (basically adopt her) because he relates to that loneliness, because for a good chuck of time all he knew was pain and loneliness because of the fucking train GAHHHHHHHHHHH
Add to that what he said about Torbek, and him being hurt and vulnerable, and how he needs to be with them so that the people who tortured and experimented on him do not get ahold of him again (because he can relate as he too was tortured and - while not experimented on to my knowledge - was dehumanized and used as a living power source for that FUCKING TRAIN) It has me gnawing at the bars of my enclosure. I am so deeply unwell about this fucker it's not even funny.
Like, idk what the wonderful people down at Legends of Avantris put in the characters they make (because while this is mainly about Gideon, all of the characters make me go feral), but it is some potent stuff, because I already have an (unfinished) 18 page coalecroux fanfic in the works and I've only been watching for like, a week.
All this to say, I love Gideon Coal ( and all of the Witchlight characters). This is the hardest I've been hit with a hyperfixation in a long ass time. It's been rotating in my head 24/7 since I started it, and I don't think it will be stopping soon.
#legends of avantris#once upon a witchlight#gideon coal#twig toadspring#torbek#character analysis#<- ????#kinda??#its deeply unhinged but i think it counts lmao

Writer Spotlight: Rose Sutherland
Rose Sutherland @rosesutherlandwrites is a Toronto-based writer who grew up a voracious reader with an overactive imagination in Nova Scotia (where she once fellĀ off a roof trying to re-enactĀ Anne of Green Gables!).Ā She's been to theatreĀ school in NYC, apprenticed at a pĆ¢tisserie in ruralĀ France,Ā and currently moonlights as an usher and bartenderāin between writing queer folktales, practicing yoga, dancing, singing, searching outĀ amazingĀ coffee and croissants, and making niche jokes about Victor Hugo on the internet. She's mildly obsessed with the idea of one day owning a large dog, several chickens, and maybe a goat.Ā A Sweet Sting of SaltĀ is her debut novel.
Keep reading for more about character arcs in A Sweet Sting of Salt, Rose's favorite fanfic tropes, and some excellent reading recs š
Can you tell us about A Sweet Sting of Salt and how you came to write it?
A Sweet Sting of Salt is a queer (f/f) historical reimagining of the classic folktale of the selkie wife, set in 1830ās Nova Scotia. I call it a āreimaginingā because while it draws on the folktale, itās not a retelling of that tale so much as a story playing out in relation to that mythology. Iād wanted to write something centering a love story between two women for a while, but the initial spark came from a Tumblr post! It suggested the idea of selkies testifying before the UN as victims of human trafficking, which reminded me of all the things I disliked about the original folktale and its inherent darkness that is generally glossed over, starting me down the rabbit hole toward finding my own story.
How did you approach research for A Sweet Sting of Salt, and what is a favorite historical fact you learned?
I joke that I did a lot of research by osmosis: I already had a lot of base knowledge about the location, having grown up in Nova Scotia, and then set the story in a period that Iāve been absorbing information about in a low-key way for agesā1832 is also the year of the student rebellion in Les Mis, so Iāve been gleaning tidbits about this era since I first got into the musical and book back in high school. However, I had to do more specific research into things like British divorce law, period midwifery, and animal husbandry. I also visited some small, hyper-local museums on the South Shore that gave me an invaluable glimpse into daily life. I also did some fun practical research into things like āHow long does it take to walk from x to y?ā and āHow cold IS a plunge into this body of water in March?ā (Spoiler: Very.)Ā
A fact that fascinated me but didnāt make it into the book was that some early European settlers in the area were granted lands by luck of the draw, pulling from a deck of playing cards: Each card was assigned to a specific 50-acre lot, and whatever you pulled, you were stuck with it.
When we meet them, Jean and Muirin are isolated for different reasons. What do you hope readers still searching for their people take away from A Sweet Sting of Salt?
That thereās always hope. Itās valuable and important to keep reaching out to the world around you, to be open, and not cut yourself offāthe biggest reason for Jeanās loneliness at the beginning of this story is the way she has come to keep everyone around her at armās length, shutting herself away out of fear, and refusing to let anyone truly get to know her because she thinks thatās the best way to protect herself from being hurt again. Reaching out to others can take a real act of courage, especially if youāve had bad experiences in the past, but āyour peopleā will reach back to you.
Found family elements play a strong role throughout the novel, within supernatural and mundane settings and across species. Was this something you intended from the beginning, or did this grow out of writing the relationship between Jean and Muirin?
I always intended for Jean to have a found family of this type, which is something that a lot of queer people identify with, but those bonds also got stronger and more meaningful as I wrote, especially once Jean and Muirin began growing into their own family unitātheir new relationship and the real danger that comes along with it put pressures on Jeanās other relationships that I hadnāt originally considered. Disagreements with Anneke and Laurie over Jeanās choices arise from their deep concern and love for her, and her own love and care for them, reflected in her responses, is a big part of what made them feel like a real family, for me. Jean and Laurie always having each otherās backs while also being the first to call one another out on their bullshit ended up being one of my favourite dynamics in the whole book.
The selkie myth carries an inherent element of transformation. What is a character transformation you most enjoyed writing, and why?
On a character level, the change in Jeanās worldview following a conversation with her childhood sweetheart meant a lot to meāit heals an old wound for her. I love how grounded and self-assured she is afterward, in spite of the daunting task still ahead of her. But my favourite transformation to write was the antagonistās mask-off moment, where they directly threaten Jean for the first time. Itās so sly and coded so that only she will understand the menace behind it, a real dun-duh-dunnn moment, which was a lot of fun for meāI also enjoy the foreshadowing elements in that exchange.
This is your debut novel. Did anything surprise you about getting it from manuscript to published book?
Oh my gosh, how LONG it took! After I finished the original draft and decided it was worth attempting to publish, I spent over a year revising based on my own thoughts, input from beta readers, critique partners, and my mentor, Maureen Marshall (whom I connected with through the now defunct Author Mentor Match program, and whose book, The Paris Affairāabout a young gay engineer attempting to help Gustave Eiffel secure the funding to build a certain celebrated Parisian landmarkā is coming out in May). After that came a full year of querying agents and getting rejected. A lot. People loved Salty but werenāt quite sure what to do with her or where the book would fit in āthe market,ā which was hard to deal with at the time but is hilarious in retrospect: Salty was snapped up less than a month after she finally went out on submission! But that was back in 2022, and the book is only coming out now. Publishing can be painfully slow.
Youāve written fanfic in the pastādo you have a favorite fanfic trope?
Iām not sure either of these counts as a trope, but I adore a character thatās āpure of heart, dumb of assā, and love a truly unhinged Fanon Explanation For Canon Object. As a longtime Les Mis stan, I ship Tholomyes/Getting Punched. If you know, you know.
Do you have any favorite queer retellings of folktales you can recommend?
Right here on Tumblr, Iām a huge fan of @laurasimonsdaughter, who writes delightful riffs on classic folktales, truly inventive urban fantasy spins on old lore, and her own original folktales.Ā
Iām currently reading Spear, an amazing queer, gender-bent, Arthurian novella by Nicola Griffiths. Anna Burkeās books Thorn and Nottingham are up next on my TBR.Ā Lately, Iāve been reading a lot of brilliant queer historicals that arenāt retellings (I recently loved Suzette Meyrās The Sleeping Car Porter and Heather OāNeilās When We Lost Our Heads) and wonderful historical retellings that arenāt queer (I highly recommend Molly Greeleyās beautiful, heartbreaking Marvelous, about the real-life couple that inspired Beauty and the Beast). Queer, historical retellings aimed at adults seem to be considered quite niche, still, and can take some digging to find! So, throwing this out to Tumblr: Do you have recommendations for me?
Do you have a writing routine? Is there a place/state of being/playlist you find most conducive to your writing practice?
My routine is chaotic at best, but I find I do my best work earlier in the day, so I usually scribble in my journal while I have breakfast, and then progress to working on my current project as I drink my second cup of coffee. Iām luckyāmy day job is an evening gig, which mostly allows me to write on my preferred scheduleā¦ but Iāve also been known to have a bolt of inspiration strike at 10pm and dash home to write until well past midnight on occasion. Nothing quite like the hyperfocus zone!
Whatās next for you? Are you working on anything you can tell us about?
No official news yet, but Iām currently working on a story set in 18th-century provincial France based on a true unsolved mystery of the past. It has me delving into a very specific branch of French folklore, and I hope future readers will pick up on common threads with one popular fairytale in particular. Iām really excited about where this one is headed, but keeping the details close to my chest for now!
Thank you Rose for taking the time to answer our questions! If you love queer fantasy and old folktales, grab yourself a copy of A Sweet Sting of Salt, and be sure to share your queer folktale reading recs with Rose on @rosesutherlandwrites!

Not gonna lie Iāve been waiting for you to wake up - please share all your thoughts on the trailer ā¤ļø
Ellie! I was not prepared. I had almost 400 notifications when I woke up and was immediately like, āSomething FK has happened here.ā Sorry for the delayed response. I had to watch the trailer a couple hundred times before I was able to form coherent thoughts.
I really enjoyed it! There was both more bondage and more dancing than I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised by the bondage, but a little wary of the dancing. Joongās dance, at least, seems to be a strip tease though, so I guess Iāll allow it.
What the trailer really highlighted for me is that, at its heart, this is a love story between Bison and Fadel just as much as it is a love story between either of their romantic partners. Theyāre polar opposites. Bison is soft in real life, but rough in the bedroom, and Fadel is rough in real life, but soft with Style. But despite their differences, they both love so deeply. Just in the trailer, we get these two lines, which speak of a forever kind of love.Ā
(Also look! The paintball scene from 10 Things!)
I think Fadel and Bison have been craving unconditional love and affection their whole lives and have finally found it in Kant and Style. (Which is why itās going to hurt even worse when they find out there are, in fact, conditions.)
I had already been spoiled about the BDSM by novel readers, but Iām still shocked they put it in the trailer. I think thatās going to be a very fun aspect to explore as consensual BDSM is still rare in BLsāor in any media, really. I talked a bit about why I love this character detail for Bison here, but I also love how it works to balance the power dynamics between them. Kant might be pursuing a relationship with Bison at least partially for nefarious reasons, but giving Bison the metaphorical āpowerā in their physical relationship makes it feel less exploitative.Ā
But oh my god. Fadel??? He has my whole heart already. Heās so broken and sad and I hope Style can help make him feel whole again and show him that heās capable of being loved for more than just his ability to kill people. And although Iām not 100% sure this is whatās happening when Fadel is going down on Style in that storage closet, Iām kinda obsessed with the idea of them playing gay chicken. Like he doesnāt think Style actually likes him so heās going to test him by giving him a blow job. Itās so perfect. This show is a fanfic writerās dream.
What I really love about all of Jojoās productions is that you can just tell he had a blast making them. He puts his whole heart into each and every one and even if there are a few bumps in the road, I appreciate someone who is passionate about their work because youāre going to get a better product that way. I also have a sneaking suspicion this script is strong just based on some of the parallels in the trailer and also that leaked plot summary which I was very impressed with, but I still donāt know for sure because no one will tell me who wrote it.
#i even @ed jojo on twitter to ask for the screenwriter months ago but got no response#that's how desperate i am#my one and only tweet is a desperate cry into the abyss#āmay i have just one screenwriter sir?ā#the heart killers#asks

Okay, so, I love Isekai fanfic. I just do, it's so fun. I like the idea of the reader loving this stuff and dreaming of it, but being so worried about them thinking ill of you. I would also be so embarrassed. Like, "Crud, they're gonna think I'm so lame and stupid." Only to find out, "Oh. I have some of the most dangerous, intelligent people on the planet obsessed with me who will never let me go home... Not the kind of bad I expected, and yet this is somehow worse." I'm also interested in the Idol one. The idea of someone being friends with Idols, and this fear that people only like you to try to get close to these people. That you're just being used. And then the sudden whiplash of them wanting you, and the fear it brings when you realize you're being stalked. From one kind of bad, to very different and worse kind of bad. I am very excited
Yes!!! Exactly!!!
For the Isekai one, I also decided to do that because... well, usually the MC is placed right at the foot the the yanderes/Batfam, or tries to go to them - which isn't bad by any means! Honestly it'd be pretty smart to do that considering things, and it works out for plot convenience.
Though, I couldn't help but think about a reader that just... avoids them? At all costs? Not because they have something to hide necessarily, but moreso because, well, that'd be really embarrassing... and sure, it's one thing to read about them- but its an entirely different thing to meet them face to face. How are you supposed to act? Of course you'd have to pretend you don't know them... but they're scarily good at reading people! What if they think you're some kind of stalker??? Or worse!
Basically, I need a reader that is super anxious and an overthinker so they decide to take a harder but socially 'easier' route of just... avoiding them, LMAO
Though yeah, when that realization comes around, and the reader notices a little too late that maybe the Batfam is obsessed over them? And they can't go home? It's so over. A breakdown is definitely imminent.
As for the switch one? I know!!! I love it so much!! I've only read a handful of yandere stories where the fixation for the yans switches, and even less where the original fixation wasn't an asshole, so this is me trying to do that but with the Batfam :]
The feeling of being used will definitely appear every now and again, but there is more of a fear of "something you didn't take seriously now becoming serious and it's too late for you", especially as the reader does try to pull away and break things off from the family, but it definitely doesn't work out.
I'll be honest, there is more than just the idols and the family using the reader to get what they want out of them, but that is the general premise without me getting into details and writing even longer descriptions, lol
For example: just to live, the reader does some shady buisness - but they are trying to get out of it (the family doesn't know they're even doing that kind of buisness, though). The reader also knows a lot of people... more than the Batfam thought! And just generally the Batfam looking into the reader as they realize they don't actually know a lot about them, and through that some of them become obsessed and super jealous...
It's not a lot as the whole switch from the idols to the main character does take more of a focus, but what I've mentioned above is just more things in between and during that gradual switch.
It's even worse then you think that the Batfam was doing it out of malice at first, then it slowly became something else.... oh man. And just how all these little things that meant to harm you, are now supposed to like, be signs of affection??? Super confusing, but god is it dreadful and terrifying.

Webserials and Why You Should Read Them
Welcome to a short primer on webserials! The concept behind them is pretty simple: webserials, also called webnovels or webfiction, are serialized online novels. If you read long fanfics OR webcomics, you're probably already familiar with the concept. Authors release new chapters on a fixed basis, usually one chapter a week (but sometimes more, sometimes less).
You can find webserials in several places: on big platforms like tapas and royalroad, on individual authors' websites or patreons, or on newsletter platforms like substack.
So now we know what webserials are, but why should we support them?
Because webserials are fun. Because webserial authors are sharing amazing works online for free! Because the publishing industry is disproportionately hard to get into for queer and marginalized folks, and those are the people writing webserials.
To climb a little higher onto my soapbox, I believe webserials are the future of accessible and diverse publishing. There's been more and more discussion about the problems with traditional publishing: how publishers are turning it into a "fast fashion" industry, spitting out books while overall book quality decreases. Regardless of whether you believe that, it's true that the industry prioritizes "marketability" over anything else. Experimental books, passion projects, books that have a lot of heart but no pithy "tropes" -- they stand little chance in the world of traditional publishing, and self-publishing is incredibly inaccessible for most of us. It's expensive, but more than that, it takes an incredible amount of time and effort. It's a business, and at the end of the day, some of just want to share the stories we love with people we hope will love them too. And that's the beauty of webserials!
One complaint I've seen about webserials is that "you never know what the quality will be like" - and I've seen this from people who regularly read fanfiction! Like fanfiction writers, we have our beta readers, we have our editors, we pour our hearts into developing our stories. So give us a try!!
Some recs and places to get started under the cut:
My webserials:
Fractured Magic - A queer epic fantasy series about a broken heroās hunt for redemption and an elven princeās quest to rescue his kidnapped king. The two estranged friends are racing against time - and dead gods - to achieve their goals. Will they make up and work together before itās too late? (This story is currently ongoing)
The Case Files of Sheridan Bell - An old-school detective mystery set in Tamarley, a fantastical city with magical murders and doors to other worlds. Basically (queer, autistic) Sherlock Holmes but with more faeries. The first mystery is complete; the second will be published soon!
Some other webserials I follow/followed from start to finish:
What Manner of Man by @stjohnstarling - a queer gothic romance novel about a priest and a vampire.
The Warthog Report by @warthogreporter- this substack contains a selection of nonfiction writing, misc. fiction writings, and Battles Beneath The Stars, a serialized story about a tournament in a fantasy world, styled like a fighting game script/walkthrough.
Kiss it Better by DogshitJay - A (definitely 18+) queer adult romance about the messy endings and messier beginnings of love.
Warrior of Hearts by Beau Van Dalen - a queer slice of life romance following an online friendship that blossoms into something more. (Beau has lots of other great webserials as well!)
More places to look:
Tapas (Community novels page)
Royalroad (mostly known for its litrpg scene, but you can find other novels and genres here as well!)
The ao3 "Original Works" tag!
#writeblr#writing#webfiction#webnovel#lgbtq books#this primer is mostly so I can link it in future posts but boosts are appreciated!!

!THIS IS PURE FICTION, NOTHING IN THIS IS REAL ITS JUST A STORY!
Hyunjin and I are going to a costume party with some of our friends. We begin finishing up our makeup before leaving and driving to the party, for this years party we decided to be the big bad wolf and little red riding hood. Hyunjin being the wolf. I finish up my makeup with the final step of putting red lipstick on to match the lipstick Iām wearing. āReady to go?ā He asks me waving around the car keys in front of my face making me giggle. āOf course I amā I reply, looking at Hyunjin and Iās costumes in the mirror. Heās wearing wolf ears with grey sweatpants and a black jacket with nothing underneath, his chest on show.
We walk out of our house, locking up before heading out to our driveway and hopping in the car. āAre you driving or me?ā I ask him, looking into his eyes with a mixture love and excitement. āYou since I need to message that were on the wayā I nod in response and turn the keys; starting the car I reverse out of the driveway and begin driving to the address that the parties at, itās a different address this time because apparently thereās going to be way more people than last year so it needed to be held in a big enough house for everyone to fit in. We arrive at the house, thereās hundreds of Halloween decorations outside; fake spiderwebs, pumpkins, ghost cut outs and even fake grave stones to finish the look off. We park the car at the end of the street and walk up to the door.
āLook who finally arrived!ā Chan says greeting us with a smile and leading us inside, heās one of Hyunjinās friends. we walk inside and greet everyone before sitting down at a table with the rest of our friends.
āSo who are you guys dressed as?ā Han asks us.
āSheās little red riding and Iām the big bad wolf.ā Hyunjin responds. āSo youāre taking Chanās thing, strange to see you as a wolfā Han adds on.
Han begins to talk about how heās going lately with the others adding on things that happened and stuff. While the conversation continues and goes on Hyunjinās hand creeps up my thigh, slowly moving it higher and higher, eventually pinching my inner thigh making me let out a whimper. āGo get a room guys, Jesus.ā Chan chuckles. And so we do exactly that.
We walk up the stairs past all of the drunk couples making out and eventually find a spare room, Frist few times we accidentally walk into people fucking, probably forgot to lock the door, but we donāt care about that. We make our way into a spare room and lock the door.
Hyunjin pushes me onto the bed and helps me take my costume off almost immediately. āNeed you.ā He says, unbuckling his belt and pulling his pants off before taking his dick out, itās already hard somehow, that was fast.
āPut it in me please..ā I beg, reaching into the night stand next to us and finding a box on condoms, making sure itās the right size before handing one to him. He smirks and rips the packet open and rolls the rubber onto his cock, positioning himself against my wet folds before pushing inside of me with a grunt of pleasure. āShit!ā I gasp, holding him closely as he begins to move inside of me. āTight..ā he mumbles before picking up the pace of his thrusting. āHyunjin.. baby..ā I whimper, wrapping my arms around his waist as he fucks me, needing more of him. āShh.. just let me fuck you nice and good.ā He says, reaching up to massage and squeeze at my breasts, still continuing to fuck me, slowly starting to pound me so hard the bed squeaks and my boobs jump up and down with his pace.
āCum for me.ā He whispers into my ear before gently biting my ear lobe. āJinnie.. fuck!ā I cry out, feeling myself squirt my juices all over him and the bed, completely making a mess for whoever will have to clean it up later. āLetās go home I.. I need you even more..ā I whimper, putting my costume back on before helping him out with his. We say goodbye to everyone and make our way back to the car, ready to see where the night takes us.

Well, you know what they say, drummers hit it harder.
āI am so fucking excited!ā Ruffilo exclaimed, tossing the last bag into the minivan. You and the boys were going on your last camping trip of the year, and it was bittersweet.
Initially, the trip was just supposed to be the two of you; but Ruffilo was persistent that the rest of the band tagged along, as well as Matt and Bryan.
Folio loved taking you out on his bike to go camping, fishing, and hiking; but his absolute favourite part was the great sex you two shared camping. Something about being away from home made it that much more exciting. His least favourite, was now his bandmates were going to be there.
āYeah, me too,ā Nick muttered through gritted teeth, giving a tight smile as he placed his helmet over his head, zipping up his leather jacket.
āOh cāmon,ā You sat behind him on the bike, geared up for the ride, wrapping your arms around him as your chest pressed into his back, āWeāll still have tons of fun.ā
Nick shifted in his seat, āIs that a threat or a promise?ā
You smiled cheekily, despite him not being able to see since the helmet covered your face, āboth?ā
He hummed in response, before turning the bike on and preparing to leave.
That evening after setting up, everyone was sitting happily around the fire, drinking beer and roasting hotdogs- the classic camping combo. Everyone laughed as they exchanged stories, Noah and Jolly reminiscing about funny memories during the tour they had just finished.
āAnd-ā Bryan said through a broken laugh, āRemember when you just fuckinā dive-bombed off the stairs?ā He doubled over laughing, almost spilling his drink as he leaned into Noah, the two giggling.
You smiled at the exchange, arms folded over your chest as you sat comfortably in your camping chair, before glancing over at Nick. He watched the fire intensely, eyes glazed over in thought, face neutral yet disappointed. You knew he was upset that this trip wasnāt just the two of you, especially because he would be getting ready to leave for tour again in a few weeks; and this was one of your last fun events planned.
You wanted to cheer him up a bit and had the perfect idea.
Reaching over you ran your fingers through his hair, āIām going to bed,ā you said, eyes lingering on his for a moment to see if he understood what you meant.
Nickās eyes flashed with excitement as he shifted in his seat, giving you a curt nod.
You stood up, stretching your arms before folding up your chair and staring at the group ahead of you. The flame danced in the middle, illuminating the shadows of the boysā faces, who stared at you sadly.
āPacking it up now?ā Jolly frowned, opening another can of beer.
You nodded, āIām not feeling too good, so Iām going to get some sleep.ā
You eyed Nick one more time, his gaze catching yours before wandering to the tent.
āIām going to make sure sheās ok, Iāll be back.ā Nick nodded at your friends before following you into the tent, zipping it up behind him.
You sat on top of your sleeping bag, motioning for him to lay next to you. Nick obliged, immediately scooping your waist between his fingers, gripping your side as he yanked your body towards his. You grabbed his face, pulling him up to kiss you, and his lips attached to yours hungrily.
Nickās voice was hoarse as took a breath, āThe boys-ā
āI donāt care,ā you said, and Nick moaned as you kissed him again roughly, āI need you, Nick.ā
āCan I at least take my shoes off before you pounce on me?ā Nick chuckled lowly, kicking off his sneakers hastily, before lying down.
You crawled on top of the man, his dark ember eyes devouring you as you stripped your clothes, remaining only in your underwear, straddling his lap. Nickās hands gripped your thighs roughly as you began rolling your core into his, and he hardened below you.
Adjusting yourself you sat on his thigh, the fabric from his jeans rough as you began to grind against his body, riding along him. A red hue fell onto Nickās nose as he smiled, admiring how heavenly you looked as you pleasured yourself against him.
All for him.
Nick peeled off his shirt while you played with the buckle of his jeans, undoing the zipper and springing his erection free.
Licking your lips you watched as his mouth opened slightly, soft puffs of air escaping as you spit on your hand, letting the saliva drag off your tongue onto himself, sliding your hand up and down his desire. Nick watched in awe as you worked on him, pumping up and down with a gentle roll of your wrist; his eyes unsure whether he wanted to stare at your hand, bouncing chest, or your face, eyes radiating with lust for him.
He licked his lips, whispering a soft plea, and you knew he was begging for your mouth wrapped around him. You obliged, sliding down his leg before licking up his length, smiling as he shuddered below you, precum dripping from the tip as his body prepared for yours.
āFuck you are so hot Y/N,ā he mumbled, hands grabbing each side of your head as his fingers tangled in your hair, pushing you against him forcefully. You loved it when Nick thrust into your mouth with need, causing you to gag against him. He fucked into your mouth, hips shooting up strenuously with an innate craving, needing you to take all of him.
You choked against Nickās body, a deep guttural groan of satisfaction escaping his lips as he held the bottom of himself, slapping the tip against your cheek before sliding back inside your mouth. Your scalp burned as he held your hair taught.
You moaned along him before pulling away, your chest heaving with heavy pants.
Nick stripped off his remaining clothes, before sitting up and unclasping your bra, taking your chest into his hungry mouth, sucking on the skin. He kissed up your Neck, biting and licking against the sensitive spot behind your ear, causing a gasp to leave as your hands raked up his back. Your nails trailed along his skin, dancing back to the top of his head, running them through his chestnut locks as he hooked your panties, pulling them down your legs. The voices of your friends outside the tent became white noise as you watched Nickās eyes worship you.
āI want to fuck you so bad,ā Nick growled into your ear, the warmth of his breath contrasting the crisp air within the tent, causing your body to shiver. Nick wanted nothing more than to ram himself into you, bruising your skin and giving you everything he had; but the shame of his friends hearing halted his actions. He loved taking you from behind, clawing at your hips as he bred into you eagerly with thirst. He would have to wait till he got home to completely rail you into your bed, listening to you scream a slurry of profanities mixed with his name.
You moaned at his confession, biting his jaw gently and affectionately before pushing him back into the air mattress, having him look up at you with greed.
āYouāll make me scream if you fuck me, youāre always so rough,ā You whispered heavily.
āThen keep riding my thigh until you come, like the good little whore you are,ā Nick praised, and you nodded greedily. You rolled your hips into him again, sliding along him, your slick gliding you with ease. Your free hand began jerking Nick off and he threw his head back at the sight, completely overwhelmed with infatuation.
Nick wanted to touch your body, one of his hands wrapped around your throat. He groaned, squeezing gently, but hard enough that your vision danced into a darkened satisfaction.
āYou like it when I choke you?ā He said, dirty words sliding off of his tongue as his free hand made it to your core, flicking roughly at your pleasure. A loud moan slipped from your lips as your body shook, your senses heightened through Nickās possessive grip, and he squeezed tightly for a moment.
He hushed you, staring with eyes dilated with fervour, āTheyāll hear us if youāre not quiet.ā
āFuck,ā you said sharply, completely indulged in his touch. Your eyebrows furrowed and Nick watched you through hooded eyes, hips thrusting into your hand as you pumped him.
Nickās lip found its way between his teeth, āLook at me Y/N,ā and you purred, staring into his eyes with his hands wrapped around your neck, holding you in place while you ruled each other.
Your body clenched as Nickās fingers continuously brushed over your desire, sliding along his thigh over and over until your abdomen began to clench, eyes trying to remain fixated on the man who possessed you below.
āI-ā you whimpered, trying to be quiet as your legs began shaking, back hunching over as you folded into Nickās hand; but his grip on your throat held you up, resisting your need to push away from him.
āShit!ā You gasped, your body letting go as your orgasm consumed you, but you remained gripping onto Nick, sliding your hand along him.
Nickās mouth fell open as he watched you come undone, a sly smile of satisfaction playing on his lips as he eyed you with admiration. He loved when you came for him, from him.
āFuck Y/N, mouth, now,ā Nick demanded, and you sucked along him again. His fingers dug into your thighs as he clenched through his orgasm, a strain of continuous deep groans escaping his body. Nick was unable to contain his sounds as you drank in all of him, ropes of his release coating your throat. He pushed into your mouth and you gagged, but he held you firmly in place with his hand, pushing your head into him.
āGood girls swallow, everything,ā He said through deep breaths, your stomach erupting with motive as you drank all of his surrender.
You sat up, smiling down at him as you wiped your lips. Nick panted, giving you a knee-weakening grin before closing his eyes, and catching his breath.
āNot feeling well, huh?ā You heard from outside the tent. Nickās wide eyes snapped to yours in horror as you covered your mouth in embarrassment, the two of you hiding your ashamed laughter.

Hi, let's talk gatekeeping fanfic. First, if you bully teenage girls out of the fandom for writing like teenagers who're still learning, you are a terrible person. Because you were that teenager. I get some of us fic writers like to pretend we came out of the womb clutching a bloody, sticky 250k word in-depth character study fic that would rank in the top ten most kudos'd fics in the fandom ever if only our eyeballs and coordination were developed enough to transfer it to a screen, but that's a massive pile of horseshit, and you know it. You wrote with mashed paragraphs and mispellings and clunky dialogue. You used the same tropes you like to mock young writers for. So maybe have a flashback and then chill.
And just in case you don't care about that, you're also literally shooting yourself in the face, because a TON of writers (which often includes you) generally follow this trend:
Get excited about a character or fandom when you're younger and/or not a Leveled Up Writer yet
Decide to try writing fanfic for the first time
Bang something out and excitedly post it
Either get good or helpful/encouraging reactions that make you want to keep keep writing, or you get a bunch of sneering comments about teenagers by grownass gatekeepers who, for some reason, feel smug about mocking excited novices who're trying to write a fun story, thus chasing you away from writing.
And there's where you fuck yourself over if you pick the shit-covered Door #2. Because a writer can't improve unless they write. Oh, you might not see the effect immediately, but after a few years, the fanfic scene will die down as writers move on to less toxic spaces (or give up entirely). And you will have no one to fill the void. YOU are the reason you'll get less fic. Imagine mocking and making fun of a new piano player whose first song on piano is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. "Ugh, I hate this basic teenage crap, are you just banging on keys? Come back when you can play Moonlight Sonata."
I literally do not give one single shit if you 'approve' of some teenager's (or adult's!) fic. If they're happy creating the equivalent of a cake with a stick figure design, that's awesome cause they made themselves a cake they enjoy. Alternatively, they're practicing making cake and no cake is perfect the first time, unless you learn something, in which case it's served its purpose and is a great cake due to fulfilling that purpose.
Tell you what - you want to gatekeep? Here's who you can gatekeep in fanfic:
Plagiarists.
There. Go nuts.
And if you're a novice writer, be it teenager or adult, deciding to try writing fic for the first time, please, please don't let them tear you down. Please don't stop writing. Don't stop learning. Don't stop creating. Don't stop being so filled with love for a story and its characters that you have to create just so you can breathe a little easier without your words and story filling up all that space around your lungs. I promise you, I promise, that every single writer you love has been at where you're at now, and the only reason they write like they do now is that they kept going, kept trying, kept writing. People will talk about talent but it plays a far smaller role than you think - this is 90% practice. And that means you can learn this.
You can do this.
So do it.
#fanfic#fic#i have seen waaaay too many gatekeepers lately bitching about teens writing fic#and then usually segueing into mocking adult novice writers too#stop being a shithead you were a novice writer too#you know how you got better? by practicing#not by being shit all over by writers who want to pretend their first work was Shakespeare level#please keep writing

Hey.
Go ahead and get settled because this will be...long, in true Liz fashion.
So, by now I'm sure most of you have heard what's happened. If not, you can search this blog for some answers or others for more.
I joined this fandom offiicially at the end of September after being a long time lurker. I had just lost my job and times were uncertain for me. I felt inspired to write, and as someone whose formative years were shaped by the fandom experience, I wanted to feel that sense of belonging again - to feel like a part of a community. I've talked about it on here before, but I started my fandom days in the original Hunger Games fandom when the first movie had just come out, and then I shifted gears towards the SuperWhoLock fandom. If you know anything about SuperWhoLock, then you know you had to have pretty tough fucking skin to be a part of any of it.
Of course, this was back in the day when fandom was an actual community and not authors having to beg for scraps of engagement and people thinking its a numbers game. I was a fairly large blog within the SuperWhoLock community (Waywardly-Carrying-On was the username), but I left fandom for a few years because life got hectic and I felt like I had outgrown the fandom itself as I was no longer watching any of the shows. As the years went on, I started to yearn for the fandom experience again, which is how I found myself dipping toes into several different ones.
I was so excited to publish my first fanfic. I had convinced myself that I wasn't a good writer (much to the chagrin of my irl friends), and I had put a pause on writing my original story. I wanted to write this idea about a cowboy and a girl using characters that I had grown to love like I did way back in my older days. So, I started posting, and I was so excited for the story, that I kept posting almost daily. MamaMay was one of the first people to embrace not only my story, but me as a person into the fandom. She made me feel welcomed and wanted.
Pretty much right off the bat I was already getting anons telling me that I was being too much and that I needed to calm down with all the posting. I was confused because...this is Tumblr. It's literally a blogging website? Why wouldn't I post? I decided to ignore the mean words (not before giving my opinion, of course) and kept on doing my thing. Well, the anons got continually worse and worse. I had a suspiscion as to who the anons could be, but I never had concrete proof. So, I experimented with blocking suspects until finally it worked. I'm not naming names because that's not my style, so don't even bother asking.
The fact of the matter is, some of you have entered fandom spaces for the first time, and you don't know how to act. You don't care to learn fandom etiquette as you've made abundantly clear by calling fandom olds every name under the sun while utilizing the anonymous feature. Newsflash, you're part of the problem. You're the reason why authors don't want to publish anymore. You are the reason that something that's supposed to be fun is starting to feel like a goddamn chore.
How many times can authors on here say that we aren't machines? We have lives outside of this website: family, friends, jobs, school, etc. Some of you really are just hellbent on making everyone around you miserable, and it's sad. You can't just leave well enough alone and let people enjoy something, no you feel like everyone has to enjoy it the same way as you.
Some of you go after authors on here because of some weird sense of jealousy too. I don't know why my shit blew up, babe, I really don't. But I started out with no followers and no support just like everyone else. I'll tell you what helped me though: following fandom etiquette and reaching out to other creators to build an actual community. None of this "I've reblogged three of your things and now I'm messaging you so that you return the favor." No, I reached out to make actual friendships which is what fandom is SUPPOSED to be. If someone was clearly not interested, it was fine!! I backed off and kept doing my own thing.
Some of you think being mean on the internet makes you big and bad. Guess what! It doesn't! It's loser mentality and I feel genuinely sorry for you. I'm sorry that people in your own life made you feel so small as to feel like you had to lash out at strangers on the internet who are just trying to have fun.
Anyway, this is my really long way of saying that I am taking a break for a little bit. I have no idea how long it will be - could be the weekend, could be a couple of weeks, could be forever. I need time to decide if this is something I want to keep persuing. If I come back, I don't know if I will remain a TGM blog or if I'll shift gears and hop into another fandom with a rebrand. Guess we'll just have to see.
To the people on here who have been a constant source of joy, laughter, and support: thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Your presence has meant everything to me, and I hope that my break sees me wanting to come back and giggle about the silly plane movie with you all again.
Nothing but love,
Liz š

12. Compliment someone else in your fandom
GOD I HAVE TOO MANY FRIENDS TO COMPLIMENT
@beezonia comes up with the coolest AUs and designs. Iām always blown away by their PokĆ©mon team compositions ā theyāre spot on to the point I consider it its own form of character analysis!
@purplecatghostposts is the genius who showed up out of the blue and took us all by surprise with their amazing prose. Soap, reminder that the reference to Copycat in consider the spare legally binds you to pay for my therapy.
@trishacollins is single-handedly remediating to the lack of platonic bedsharing between the cousins and I canāt thank her enough! Sheās also one of the chillest and most approachable people I know.
@luckychatons is our favourite entrepunpurr and constantly lifts our mood with the cutest, most joy-filled sketches! Patting her OCs on the back because they sure need it.
@graythegreyt is such an awesome artist youād almost forget theyāre also one hell of a poet who wields mythological references like Odysseus wields his bow. Did you know they wrote me a poem inspired by God Games? I think everyone should know they wrote me a poem inspired by God Games.
@hartwign is a talented translator and draws hair like no one else. Seriously. I want to run my hands through the cousinsā hair and nestle in there forever.
@phieillydinyia is the picture of dedication! Canāt recommend Candle In The Wind enough, itās a roleswap rewrite of the Miraculous movie that includes the songs. How cool is that. Thank you for your regular comments on my fics, they always make my day!
@alexandriaellisart words cannot express how much I love your depiction of Feligami. Your writing has made me tear up so many times! AND YOUR ART LOOKS SO SOFT AND COLOURFUL. What a double threat!
@faiirygrahamdevanily we need more fics about the Sentiplot as a metaphor for othering experiences and youāre doing Godāsā¦ I mean, Duusuās work with yours!
@bbutterflies did you know your piece for Sentitwin Week is the best characterisation Iāve ever seen of Felix? This is what people mean when they say a picture is worth a thousand words. And of course your Adrino is always brilliant!
@bittersweetresilience not only are you an extraordinary writer, but youāre constantly looking for new ways to express your love. Always GIFing and weaving and canonising tags and making AMVs and running zinesā¦ I canāt wait to see what you do next!
And thereās so many more people Iām forgetting! To say nothing of my friends outside the Miraculous bubble! People are amazing!!! š
15. The character that always makes you smile
At the end of the day, itās all about Clive. Heās been my muse for nearly 15 years! ššļø

19. Your current fandom(s)
Professor Layton, forever and always. I canāt wait to share my Big Bang fic and the amazing art that I was blessed with! šš
RWBY, even if Iām lurking more than participatingā¦ I love love love love RWBY, yet it doesnāt strike my creative and analytical chords the way Miraculous does. Sometimes you just need to let yourself be swept into a story, you know? Although, it did teach me a couple of writing tricks Iāve used for other fandoms!
EPIC! Wisdom Saga coming soon! š©µš¦ It makes my little mythology nerd heart supremely happy. The music is a banger and you can feel the knowledge and passion of all the people involved in this project. Jorge in particular is always so excited to share his progress, engaging with creators, explaining his musical choices in a fun and pedagogical wayā¦ And the lyrics! Itās free real estate for a fanfic author looking for inspiration and/or titles!
Iād love to start Monte-Cristoposting like Iāve been Cyranoposting and Draculaposting, but Iām afraid of spoilers so for now Iām just screaming in your DMs. As you know. Iām also slowly getting into Honkai: Star Rail, and Iād like to pick up PokĆ©mon Black and White again because a N character study would look great on my AO3 resume.
And of course, Miraculous! ššā¤ļø Itās the most creative Iāve been in years and itās all thanks to these sad beautiful silly genius kids. Heart emoji, peacock emoji, sob emoji, etc.

PAC | Your Love Story in Song
Someone who received a reading from me once said that I tend to write scenarios as if I'm writing a whole fanfic. While I'm not a fanfic writer, I do love writing so... This pick-a-card is about your future love story based on songs!
This can apply to your future spouse, for your future partner, etc, although it is intended to be the most impactful relationship you have. I will be using shufflemancy and intuition, plus there is a bonus moodboard/image section!
ā¢ There are three piles to choose from, all are CDs with writing on them/quotes. Pile one is "Songs to listen to when you're in love", pile two is "You're the only thing in life that I got right", and pile three is "Everything I could never tell you." ā¢
Pile One ā¢ "Songs to listen to when you're in love"
Walking on a Dream by Empire of the Sun
C'mon - Single Version by Panic! At The Disco & fun.
Capsize by FRENSHIP & Emily Warren
A heaviness. Two people who refuse to believe that they're in love, but rather continue to wallow in their own problems until they realize that there was someone there all along. Youth. They both take baby steps until they realize that someone has been there alongside them the whole time and together they bring themselves up. Unfortunately, the highs are high and the lows are low, and sometimes it leads to explosive fights, crying, and the neverending cycle of breakups.
It's blue. It's in the dark, two lovers holding hands as you both sob over the destruction you have caused together. You both think to yourselves "Maybe this is why we are meant to be?" A combination of hail and rain, the worst thunderstorms, and the brightest sunny days after them, but mostly because you know that others would not be able to handle your violence (not literal).
On the worst days, you almost melt into each other. On the best days, you blend and ebb with each other's flows. There is no fear in either of your depths. They can get terrifying, yes, and from an outside perspective it can be seen as a toxic, violent cycle, but it is far from the truth. It's bittersweet, it's growth, it's pulling out hair like pulling weeds and sharpening knives to cut out rotten flesh. It's painful, yes, but it's the most invigorating ride you both have ever been on, and it's the most growth you've ever had. You trigger each other in the best and worst way possible.
It's pain and ascension. Growing your wings, pulling out the flightless feathers. Scratching away dead scales, shedding and spitting up venom. Like an animal learning how to breathe again. Poetic misery.
Pile Two ā¢ You're the only thing in life that I got right."
Nineteen by Dylan
Joan of Arc by Arcade Fire
Stop Making This Hurt by Bleachers
Good morning kisses and back hugs. Shared memories and shared coffee mugs, cuddles, and long movie marathons, but something is changing.
The love you shared is changing. Neither of you has gotten this far, you have no idea how to react. The passionate morning kisses become awkward side steps, the cuddles become awkward and suddenly you hate the color of the walls. You still love them, yes of course, but it's changing it's hue. Your chameleon lover is changing its colors and you haven't adjusted to the change in saturation. The giddiness goes away and becomes...comfortable. You fear that the passion is gone, you've never felt this way before. You're afraid they'll leave you.
You both lay on the duvet, staring above at the ceiling fan. Suddenly, you're both older. "How did we get here? Where has the time gone?" You both look at each other with a somewhat sad, but tender smile. The love hasn't gone away, it's just changed forms, and you're finally adjusted to the slower love you always deserved. You kiss, it's awkward and cheeky, but it brings a warmness to your body you've never felt before, a warmness you want to keep forever, and so you both do.
BONUS: While looking for images, Boreas by the Oh Hellos was playing in my head, it definitely matches the warm energy of this pile.
Pile Three ā¢ "Everything I could never tell you"
East of Eden by Zella Day
Oh No! by MARINA
Mine Forever by Lord Huron
It was a hook-up, it was a fling. You never pictured that you'd actually love your goofy lover. You couldn't imagine them being serious about anyone until one night you looked into their eyes and realized it wasn't lust. Out of fear, you left, and you were terrified.
This wasn't the type of person you would bring home to your family, but rather show off to your friends and your Instagram stories, but now things are changing. They aren't the person you expected to be, and you're slowly falling in love with their dopey smile and messy hair. "Nothing can get better than this," they say with a smile, and fall asleep in your arms. You feel the same way and it scares you.
You run from it, you ghost them and break their heart just for a moment until you look at yourself in the mirror and see the person you've never wanted to become. You take off your mask and realize you're just a scared child who never knew you were worthy of love or desired love. You put in the work, you change your face, and break your old mask.
You show up to their house to apologize and try to start fresh again, and whether or not they accept your apology is up to them, but you'll never forget them regardless.
Thank you so much for reading! Feel free to check out my masterpost with more readings, or you can support me by purchasing a reading by clicking here. Thanks for the support, let me know which pile you picked and if it resonated or not :)!
