Ellen and Jim, the Hughes parents, have always seen me with Luke, even Trevor. Trevor zegras is one of Jack’s hot friends that I can’t call hot. I’m 22. Fairly young. It’s forbidden to date older men, especially people the Hughes know.

Europe was only cool until my parents got a divorce. My dad also was moving to Italy after selling his home in Switzerland. Which kind of made me excited to see him. Italy is the place the Hughes spend some summers in.

The Hughes have been to my Monaco and newly Italian home several times. They love it there, but I get tired of it. My French is terrible, but Jack always tells me that I have an accent when I talk now because I’ve spent over half of my life in Europe. Apparently, I have a thick accent. Most of it is Italian, and a quarter of it is French, the rest is terrible English. “Say something in Spanish.” Luke mocks me.

For some reason they don’t believe me when I say I can speak four languages, “I told you, I speak French, Spanish, German, and Italian.” I roll my eyes and place the mashed potatoes onto the well decorated table.

We walk downstairs into a beautiful dining room, with a large Christmas tree that hangs fabulous ornaments that hold pictures of our childhood pictures. I notice that Ellen has labeled our sitting spots at the table.

I’m next to Jack, Luke next to my left, and quinn across from me. Ellen faces Jack, while Jim is sitting at the head, and the table is pressed up to the wall. So no one is sitting at the opposite side of Jim. There is an empty seat, I thought it was weird- Ellen never has an empty chair for family gatherings.

a/n: hi lovely anon, thank you for requesting!! i’m getting back into my inbox finally, i know i’ve been slacking with that recently, so I apologize! i’m going to try and work through that, and I might do a harry blurb to this too cause i found this request v sweet<3

Anyone that knew Chris knew he was an avid prankster from videos with his brother, to his friends and other family members, so naturally you were more than aware that he would more than likely get you in on his antics. You were quite a calm person, usually sticking to yourself and your work most days, Chris always loving that softness you added to your shared home, but deep down he loved how easy it was to scare the absolute shit out of you.

There were few times where you weren’t having it, whether it be after a bad day or if you were under stress with a deadline for work, but today probably topped the times he probably should not have scared you.

He was lucky you were as forgiving as you were.

After finishing up some much needed files before you took 3 weeks vacation to travel some of Europe with Chris and his family. In retrospect you should have realized your missing boyfriend was up to something when the house was too quiet, because although there was always a certain sombreness to the house, Chris still managed to fill it with noise.

“Chris?”

Huffing softly you walked down the stairs and moved towards the living room, he was still nowhere to be found, up until you turned past the couch and he jumped out from behind it yelling

“Boo!”

He laughed as you screamed, a hand coming up to your chest but that soon stopped after you tripped backwards on the corner of the love seat and landed straight on your hip, hitting the corner of the coffee table

“ow ow ow”

You lay flat on the floor a mixture of laughing and crying because honestly you were in some pain

“Fuck..honey-y/n you okay?”

“I hate you.”

He knew you were joking but he couldn’t help but kneel next to you, his hands holding your face gently as he wiped some of the tears away

“I’m so sorry baby, really are you okay?”

Blinking up at him you nodded

“My hip hurts, but i’m fine”

Chris helped you up his features full of regret as he watched you wince, his hand moving to check your hip noting the deep black and purple bruise that was beginning to form

“Here, sit on the couch i’ll get you some ice”

“Chris i’m-”

“Please..”

You could see how bad he felt, and despite it being an accident you did as he told, settling yourself down onto the couch waiting for him to bring you some ice. Moments later he’d brought over some water, an ice pack and a few snacks for you

“Here…got some snacks, water and some ice for your hip”

You smiled patting the spot next to you

“Thank you my love, it was an accident you know, I forgive you”

“I still hurt you”

Letting out a quiet laugh you leaned over to press a kiss to his cheeks

“Chris baby, I love you, it was an accident, maybe let’s take a break from the pranks…at least until my hip isn’t falling off?”

That got a laugh out of Chris which made you feel a bit better knowing he really did feel bad for hurting you

“I love you too, I can do that..no more pranks”

Did you really think he’d be able to hold off on the no pranking rule until your hip felt better? No, but you had some of your own tricks up your sleeve, and maybe the hurt hip would come in handy more than you thought it would.

i was trying to think of some kind of one shot i’d like, and i remember that my friend and i were talking a bit ago and she said i kind of looked like Speirs, which at first i didn’t agree.. but now i can sorta see it?? we have mostly the same coloring except for the eyes. plus our noses are similar and our eyebrows. ANYWAY, it just gave me the idea of a one shot where i’m Speirs’ little sister and maybe i’m a nurse in easy company, but he’s a very ‘protective older brother’ type so none of the guys even want to cross that line. UNTIL winters (my bae 😔) and i develop feelings for each other and start to date and be all bf/gf in secret until Speirs finds out. Dick Winters x Speirs!Medic!Reader

The officers were having the time of their lives in the Eagle’s Nest, resting out in the sun with the best champagne available. Ron had other things on his mind, though. Someone was dating Easy Company’s medic, (y/n). Something like this would, typically, never cross his mind twice. However, this certain medic was Ron’s baby sister. He heard from Lieutenant Lipton that the medic was absolutely smitten with a boy in 2nd Battalion, and Ron could not help but be infuriated. He knows the boys, especially in Easy Company. They’re good soldiers, stellar soldiers, but Ron has seen how quickly they love and leave women - thinking about (y/n) falling for some lousy corporal who will leave as soon as the next girl comes his way lit an angry fire in Ron’s soul.

Ron remembered when Lipton first told him about the rumor - it was about a month ago, in Hagenau. That night, Ron showed up unannounced to (y/n)’s billet and knocked on the door. He noticed the sounds of hurried shuffling and hushed voices behind the door, his concern only growing. (y/n) finally opened the door, but just enough to stick her head out.

“Ron? What’re you doing here?”

“We need to talk.”

“Um…okay, let me put something on.”

She quickly shut the door and more shuffling and hushed voices ensued. Ron could barely make out “-leave now”, “I’ll see you tomorrow”, and “love you more.” Before Ron could run to the other side of the house to catch the boy in question, (y/n) opened the door back up, bathrobe wrapped around her.

“Come on in Ron, what's wrong?” She asked her older brother, closing the door and sitting beside him on the bed.

Ron folded his arms and looked at the floor - the situation had been buzzing in his head all day, but now that he was here to confront (y/n), he was quite unsure how to broach the topic. He took a breath before replying.

“I know you’re an adult and can make your own decisions, but I promised Mom and Dad I’d look out for you while we’re in Europe.” (y/n) nodded along, furrowing her brow in concern. “I heard a rumor that you’re… going with another soldier in the battalion, is that true?” (y/n)’s eyes grew wide before responding.

“I…umm… who told you that?”

“Lieutenant Lipton.”

(y/n) mumbled a swear under her breath - who the fuck told Lipton??

“Is it true (y/n)?”

The medic put her head in her hands - she didn’t want to lie to her brother, but she also wanted her boyfriend’s life to be spared.

“As you said, Ron, I’m a grown-up and I can make my own decisions.”

That was all the confirmation Ron needed. He took a sharp inhale and began pacing the small room.

“Who is he!?”

“I’m not telling you, Ron!”

“WHO. IS. HE.” Ron glared at (y/n) more intensely than ever, his hands on his hips and chest heaving in rage.

“Ron he’s a good man! He’s kind, caring, attentive, supportive-”

“He acts like that now, but just like any other enlisted boy he’s going to leave you high and dry, and when that happens I’m going to ki-”

“Ron, it’s not like that, I promise,” (y/n) looked up at her brother sincerely. She wasn’t lying, he wasn’t like the other enlistees - he was an officer. “Look, I know you’re just trying to protect me, but I really like him and will keep seeing him. If he does anything, though, you know you’re the first person I’m coming to.” The girl got up and stood before her brother with a warm smile and arms outstretched. The captain took a deep breath before nodding in understanding and accepting his sister’s hug. Ron held her tight in his arms and kissed the top of her head, silently plotting how to take care of this mysterious soldier.

Ron was pulled from his thoughts when he heard Dick’s voice calling to him. The officer sat up in his seat on Nixon’s chair, noticing Lipton and (y/n) trailing behind Major Winters.

“Hey Adolf! Love your Eagle’s Nest!” Harry Welsh greeted Winters and his companions. Dick smiled at Harry and turned to a paper in his hand, reading out that the German army had surrendered - the war in Europe was over. While the officers were processing the information, Dick pointed a finger at Speirs.

“Ron, I need to talk to you,” he informed the captain, beginning to walk back inside. Ron tried to shake the inebriation from his brain before following the commanding officer, praying it wasn’t something too important. The officers made their way to a living room-style area, containing two couches across from each other, a coffee table in between. Speirs took a seat on one couch, and Dick sat across from him. Speirs, in his state, had not noticed that (y/n) had followed the pair to the room - the girl sat next to the redhead and smiled at her brother.

“(y/n)? What’re you doing here?”

“Ron, do you remember back in Hagenau when you heard that (y/n) was going with a soldier?”

“Yeah, did you find out who?” Ron leaned forward intensely, praying for a chance to beat up the soldier who dared to try and date his sister.

Dick let out a quiet chuckle and looked at the ground.

“Oh, I know who it is…”

“Then spit it out!” Ron started to get frustrated at the pair - he needed them to just tell him who-

Suddenly, (y/n) looked softly at Ron and took Dick’s hand in hers. It took a moment for Ron to study the gesture, a lightbulb flashing in his head after a moment.

“Are you telling me… back when I talked to you at your billet…”

(y/n) giggled before answering, “Yes, Dick was scrambling to climb out the back window before you saw him.” The major shook his head in amusement, his cheeks starting to match his ginger hair.

Ron just sighed and put his head in his hands. He had been a little stricter than he needed to be with Easy Company since discovering the relationship, but now he realized that he was intimidating the poor boys without a purpose.

“...why didn’t you tell me?” Speirs asked genuinely, looking up at the pair.

“We wanted to wait until the war was over, since life was so unpredictable,” (y/n) explained.

“Besides, even I was nervous to tell you that I was dating your sister,” Winters added with a laugh. The siblings returned the laughter, (y/n) placing a quick kiss on Dick’s cheek.

“Well, since the man you’re seeing happens to be one of the finest soldiers I’ve ever met, I think I can let him live,” Ron said with a smirk. The trio laughed together once more before standing to leave, both Dick and (y/n) exchanging hugs with Ron. As the three walked back to the company, Winters holding (y/n)’s hand, they knew that they had a lot of explaining to do.

Yeah her husband pays for her vacations and Eras tickets! This year she flew from Australia to the US and then later on from Aus to Europe, going to half a dozen shows each time.

I consider myself self-sufficient (not well off) and I wouldn’t go around saying a man who is better off than her or me is… jobless. Like he’s fine. Life is going quite swimmingly which is actually shocking to me because I’m not used to being in a state of contentment. I’m Bangkok for the past month with my boyfriend and we love it here.

It’s hot AF and the pollution is whack, yet it’s literally the most incredible city I’ve visited. Thailand is crazy but in the best way possible. And people are so polite, sentient and respectful. I love bowing to show gratitude I think it’s a perfect way to show humility.

Coming from Canada which is one of the most failed western societies I feel so safe and at home now. Even after spending 3 months in France I’m sorry but I have to say that even Europe is a shithole compared to Asia. The inflation in France is so completely mental that I was going broke just getting basic groceries, when it never used to be this bad before le khoevid19.

When I was in Mexico last year I felt the same way about leaving the west because at least people in so-called “developing countries” are still human, family-oriented, respectful and not all basic shills to capitalism grindset culture. Paying $2k a month to live in a closet sized apartment in some toilet in the US, Canada, Australia, Europe etc is not normal and I will never accept it and I don’t think anyone should.

I love that Asia is the continent of my ancestors, I love having my own apartment for a reasonable price, I love seeing people who are happy and not the depressed zombies of Canada, and I love the freedom of being able to support myself financially the way millennials no longer can in the west.

All my anxiety is gone. I’m happy and grateful exploring new countries with my bf and we’re going to Cambodia in 5 days. I believe in God more than ever. I feel financially secure for the next few months at least lol but even glad for that! I might have some great new career prospects and an interesting (fingers crossed 🤞🏼) screenwriting assignment coming up!

Anyways sorry for this rant but just thought I’d share how I found this difficult yet worthwhile path to happiness 😭😅 Just to think that if I didn’t have the guts to quit my job four months ago, I would’ve never been able to visit France, Italy, Thailand and Cambodia and I would still be miserable sitting in a real estate office all day. And somehow it’s all thanks to my boyfriend for giving me the courage and support to live this unconventional yet incredible life.

going insane about Hamlet: Act 2 edition. let’s get straight into it

- firstly, Polonius makes me feel many things. Mostly rage. Frustration. Vague annoyance. The need to stab something through a curtain. I don’t know what he’s trying to accomplish by paying someone to slander his son (a lie, I know his reasoning and I think it’s dumb) but he’s just a strange old man and I don’t like him. Polonius enjoyers (if you exist) please make your case because I don’t know if there is anything I’m supposed to be seeing in this guy. only redeeming quality was having generally okay kids and being killed off in Act 3

- the scene where Hamlet startles Ophelia in her chambers is so endlessly funny to me. you have to really visualise the scene to get it, the imagery is silly. imagine you’re having a normal day and your bf walks in with his pants down except this is like pre 1600s Catholic Europe so you freak out and then he just acts really weird and walks out weirder. poor Ophelia your boyfriend’s only going to get worse and more unrecognisable from here but we’re staying silly until then

- I’ve never been able to read any of the scenes with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern quite the same after the banger play that is Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. I thank Tom Stoppard for taking what was originally two characters I didn’t know where my feelings lay towards and making them the silliest little guys under the sun. I sort of change my feelings on how ‘canon’ I consider the interpretation each time I read the book, but I like having the option

- Hamlet’s letter to Ophelia also makes me feel many things. ‘Doubt truth to be a liar, but never doubt I love (I never loved you)’. I’m on the bandwagon that Hamlet did truly love Ophelia at least prior to the events of the play (and then I switch up depending on the readings again), but I find again that it adds to the tragic element to spend time considering the lives they led before the King’s death. I’ll probably delve mostly into the relationship of these two in my Act 3 ramblings (starring such wonderful quotes as ‘Get thee to a nunnery’ and ‘That’s a fair thought, to lie between maid’s legs’) but goodness. ‘Thine evermore most dear Lady, whilst this machine is to him, Hamlet.’

- Hamlet’s habit of using wordplay to mock and annoy the people he doesn’t respect will always be funny to me, but it’s increased prominence whenever in the presence of Polonius is excessively so. This man is taking every single opportunity to twist this old man’s words into some odd pun or another and it’s so very silly. ‘Excellent, you are a fishmonger.’ ‘Have you a daughter? Let her not walk i’ th’ sun’ also blatantly making comments about your girlfriend in front of her conservative dad is insane but. I guess that’s the angle

- ‘What do you read my Lord?’ ‘Words, words, words’ oh he hates this man

- ‘You cannot sir take from my anything that I will more willingly part withal (except my life)’ has lived in my head rent free since reading. icon

- I’ve annotated my irl copy of Hamlet with pink markers every time he makes a misogynistic comment, and within roughly 30 seconds of meeting his childhood friends, he’s found an excuse to pull another one out of the bag. I suppose it is interesting how his misogyny does seem to be a very direct result of his glaring mother issues however, specifically his mother’s sexual promiscuity (of a kind) distressing him so much that it’s tainted his entire view of women as a whole.

- and then he drops two of the hardest lines back-to-back, ‘There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so’, and ‘O God, I could be bounded in a nutshell and count myself a King of infinite space; were it not that I have bad dreams’. like okay slayy

- immediately calling R&G out on their bs. It’s not paranoia if they’re out to get you, or something

- ‘My Lord, I have news to tell you-‘ ‘mY lOrD, I hAvE nEwS tO tElL yOu. when Roscius was an actor in Rome-‘ oh he HATES this man

- we as a society don’t talk enough about Hamlet being a theatre kid methinks

- ooh I love the ‘rogue and peasant slave am I’ soliloquy. at this point, it’s been four months since the King was murdered, and two months since his ghost has asked Hamlet to take revenge. and still nothing has happened. Hamlet’s pretended to go mad, but hasn’t been able to make up his mind on what to actually do just yet, and he’s starting to hate himself for it. I also love getting to see the thought process behind his actions, and honestly things are still making sense from his perspective at this point. Yes it’s been a while, but he also has no definitive proof that the murder actually happened. For all he knows, the ghost was a devilish apparition trying to trick him into committing an unforgivable sin. And we’re still at the point where we can justify this, even if we might consider it a little indecisive of him a whole two months after. It’s just a silly little spiel that leads well into the next act, and I just like to read it out loud

Not as much on this act, but I’m saving all the juice for Act 3, my personal favourite >:) see you soon

hey anon! sorry this took so long but here it is, hope you enjoy!

“I’m not with you just because you’re rich you know,” I smiled up at the reflection of the boy standing behind me in the mirror. 

“Sure…” He playfully rolled his eyes, but he couldn’t shake the giddy smile from his face. I twirled a golden curl around my finger, his smile was what drew me in months ago. 

“It’s alright though, I don’t mind spending money on someone so beautiful- you deserve the best.” The Chanel dress I was wearing proved that tenfold, the blush on my cheeks a side effect of his love-drunk compliments. It felt unreal sometimes. How had I gotten lucky enough to not only have a boyfriend who was perfect, loving, and smart, but also incredibly doting and also interested in fashion? 

“What do you think then?” I turned around to look him directly in the eyes. 

“It’s perfect!” His eyes never left my face. 

“Are you sure? I’ve been looking forward to this night with you since the ninth grade! I want everything to be perfect!”

“You’re gonna be by my side, how could it not be? And after you win prom queen a crown will finish the look perfectly.”

I felt my face redden again, a bigger smile breaking out. “We don’t know for sure that we’re winning court.” 

“Pshhh,” he wrapped his arms around my neck, “we got this in the bag.” 

The sales attendant came rushing over with more dresses, stacked up higher than she could see. 

“That should be the last of everything we have in stock right now, but we could of course do a rush order from Europe if you’d like that, Mr. Black!”

“Thanks, we’ll let you know.” He tipped the woman generously and off she went, then he was right back with his arms around me. 

He really was the best. Some people might have thought we were too opposite to work but I think that’s why we worked. I could be silly and joke and poke fun, and he understood and took it with a smile. He was the only person who could dare go back at me and hold his own, though he rarely did. We just had a mutual understanding, like we could talk in each other’s heads. 

“Isn’t it bad luck for you to see me in my dress before prom?” 

He chuckled, but his eyes didn’t change from the glazed over look he’d been carrying. “I think that’s a wedding babe.”

“Psh- same difference…”

He slowly guided me off the pedestal I was on, so we were on even ground, and began slowly swaying. 

We were slow dancing to no music, just lost in each other’s eyes. I wanted to stay in the moment forever. 

But there were all those beautiful dresses that needed trying on, and with a glance he could read my mind. I figured it was my turn to give him a tip for his troubles, pulling him in for a short kiss.

Which turned into a longer one. 

And a longer one.

After some time, we pulled away and he carried the new clothes to where I had been getting changed, and our mission resumed. 

164 dresses later, a winner was chosen. Tolkien paid, of course, which felt weird sometimes, but he was so insistent and it really was a beautiful dress, I guiltily couldn’t be bothered to complain too much. His love made me feel silly drunk all the time, and we relished in that all day.

Idk who to tell this so,

I'm 25 with zero friends. I've always had friends, but I never had a friendship that lasted over 2 years. Most of them just grew apart, and we have no beef.

Before meeting my bf, I used to do hookups so at least that fulfilled my need of socialization and I had my brother's friends inviting me out to drink with them. But after getting into a relationship, I moved across to the other side of Europe and now I realized I only have my bf as a friend.

You could say "ah, but it's a new country, lots of new people to meet" and that's the most painful part because I've also realized I have no idea how to talk to people. I have no idea what to say when my colleagues tell me about their day, I have no thoughts forming on whatever they're talking about. I always make things awkward because mostly I just smile, nod and say "yea, it is what it is"

At one side, I'm a 100% introvert (acc to MBTI) and a Virgo, so I just want to do my job and go home and watch a movie and sleep, but on the other hand, I feel terribly lonely

hi there lovely!! i’m so sad to hear you’re feeling this way :( i really understand this type of loneliness, and i’ve been in this boat for a while too. i’ve also grown apart from all of my friends, and haven’t made any lasting friendships since i graduated high school. it sounds like we have super similar personalities also!

i wish i had some more encouraging words, but i can tell you, you aren’t alone <33 it’s so difficult to make friendships in your 20s, and i’ve been struggling too. i’m sure you’ve heard this a thousand times, but asking questions helps me a lot!! i hate talking about myself until i’m comfortable with people, but i always try and think of things i can ask about them. it makes conversations easier :) but i’m glad you still have your bf though, i hope that helps make the loneliness a little better 🤍 and i hope that things get better :( i know how hard it can be moving to a new place, all the best wishes for you.

OMG I AM HOME OKAY

so i’m driving to campus to get to my test but they’ve been having roadwork on the road to get to the parking lot i always park in—which is closest to my building, but they closed OFF that road :,) so then i was like ok !! no matter !! i’ll go this other way !!

THEY CLOSED THAT OFF TOO

SHOCKER TO NO ONE—THEY HAD THAT CLOSED OFF TOO

they literally closed off the only 3 routes i knew to this building / parking and i was sitting there like🧍🏽‍♀️🥲 MY TEST IS IN FIVE MINS :,) and it was throwing everyone off because they were like making u turns and pulling into random parking spaces and stuff so i did the same thing and i was like ok time to whip out my handy dandy map and find some alternative route to this parking lot WHEN THERE WAS THIS KNOCK ON MY WINDOW

so i look up all confused—and my jaw ALMOST DROPS bc staring at me is the MOST GORJUS MAN I HAVE EVER SEEN and so i roll my window down like can i help you good sir ?? and he explains to be he’s an exchange student and this is his first day here in campus and he has some orientation thing but the road is blocked and he doesn’t know how to get there and i’m like :O omg ur gorjus (i didn’t say that) BUT ANYWAY

he was like do u mind showing me the way ??? and i’m like :,) me and my smart ass (read: dumb ass) was like “yup !! sure !! i totes know the way !!!!!!!!! follow me !!!!!!!!!!!” bc i was NOT about to disappoint my foreign exchange soulmate husband. so he gets in his vehicle. and i look at the map (i can barely read maps i am as directionally challenged as they get) and i say a silent prayer and HOPE the turn im about to make is correct.

and then i turn and i’m like wait this building looks familiar—i get closer and I KNOW THIS BUILDING !!! so then i’m like omg. THEN I TURN AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW !!!! i’m recognizing streets !! i’m like omg my ex bf used to use this street to drive me !!!!! i know this place !!!!! and then boom. i get to the building 😌 AND HE CAME OUT AND SAID THANK YOU YOURE A LIFE SAVER. A LIFE SAVER !!!!!!!! HE CALLED ME A LIFE SAVER !!!!!!

anyway i was 10 minutes late to my test. not the important part here. idk his name or his number or where he’s even from rly i’m assuming somewhere in europe (do not clown me for letting a white man steal my heart. this one has spice okay) BUT I RLY DID MEET MY NEW BOYFRIEND AND HE DOESNT KNOW IT YET BUT HES MY BOYFRIEND

i’m going on my first (kinda) solo trip this summer starting today! i’m flying to europe to meet with my bf who works out there and i am so so so nervous i am shitting myself on the way to the airport

do you have any tips for travelling solo/ without parents

it’s kinda hard for me to think of like tips that could be useful bc i travel a lot and some things are just common sense to me but when i travel with other people, they do not seem to think so. so i shall try my best o7

never leave your things unattended. always keep your phone, ID, keys, anything important in a safe place. since your bf lives there, you should be fine but still yk

be aware of your surroundings at all times

exchange your money at a bank, or use their atms if you need cash. don’t go to the random money exchange places they’ll upcharge you like a mf

take advantage of the freedom. literally go out, party, go exploring. all the shit you can’t do properly when your parents are around, do it. but ofc stay safe and don’t do anything stupid.

i think those are my only useful tips i fear. idek if they’re useful but it’s all i could think of. when i went to spain with paulina and tati, we went with paulina’s mom so it wasn’t like a full solo trip.

my first “solo” trip was colombia with danny and his friends and i remember like half of it bc i was drunk like a good 25% of the time lmfao. and i turned my brain off a little bc danny was there, he basically made sure we all made it out alive. i was mostly just in charge of making sure everyone made it to the activities on time and yelling at them for doing dumb shit.

anyway traveling is really fun, you’ll have a great time regardless anon
