I had a weird moral dilemma thing going for a minute where I was feeling weird about writing prsk fanfiction, but then I remembered I write stories about people in school all the time (unfortunately, because there's not enough media out there that I like that has college/adult leads that I actively want to write fanfiction for).

And then I also remember that nothing matters and aging up characters exists so anyway who likes AnHane I'm writing AnHane they are very gay and cute and I'm a little obsessed

i have been trying to figure out why the whole 'fae god' and katniss everdeen things with kendrick lamar on here were bothering me, and i think i finally put it into words.

most posts like that are probably coming from well-meaning white people (i am also partially a White People, to be clear), who otherwise dont really listen to rap. they cannot find a way to 'relate' to this black man who sings largely about issues that affect the black community– and rather than try and meet him where he is, they have to fit him into these little tumblr cultural boxes before he can be 'palatable' to them.

they have to shave off the rougher/more abrasive aspects of his work and activism because it makes them uncomfortable, that way they can pigeonhole him into something that allows them to enjoy his work without the critical analysis that MUST come with it

he is not your fae god, he is not a YA protagonist, he is not a little gremlin or a cinnamon roll or a blorbo. He is a human being with opinions and beliefs that deeply permeate his work, and to ignore that truth is to ignore the entire point. PLEASE try to engage with artists' work outside of the lens of tumblr fandom, and i mean that as nicely as possible. you are doing YOURSELF a disservice

I don't know what happened but I fell into the Evka/Antoine pit overnight after rereading parts of Tevinter Nights, and there's only a handful of things when I search for them so I'm adding to that pile myself!!

They've appeared multiple times in short stories and even the comics so I'm just waiting for DA4 stuff like "👀". Bioware pls give us the cute Wardens (preferably alive and well shjhfg but I'm expecting them to hurt me emotionally anyway bc this is DA after all, and there's been so much foreshadowing ;;v;;)

i <3 grrm's scary women. But here is my interpretation of the Corpse Queen, Queen to the Night's King of the Night's Watch! Bloody lips, star eyes, moon skin, and all!

I personally love the theory that she is half Other, especially with her eyes described as such. I love scary women and I love the horrors at the Nightfort. <3

February Fiction Fight

The easiest writing challenge, on the shortest month! The only goal is to write "a bit of something" each day.

honestly I don’t see till hallucinating mizi and/or ivan in round 7 because I believe that besides her grief, mizi saw sua in luka because luka inherently resembles sua much more than any other alnst character so he was able to perfectly provoke her in that way. like everyone loves to point out sua and ivan parallels but sua and luka parallels are being shoved right into our faces. their birthdays being one day apart, them covering each other’s respective songs, how they both acted when they were children, their feelings of hopelessness and indifference to everything that leads to obedience etc.

just like luka, sua has so much darkness locked inside of herself and away from mizi, it’s so apparent in the mizisua short animation, in sweet dream’s lyrics and in most of sua’s illustrations where mizi isn’t shown. sua’s also quite possessive and gets jealous, it’s not as excessive as luka but it’s there and intended.

it’s clear that sua could’ve ended up just like him but didn’t because of how different their loved ones impacted them.

the concept of metroid fics written exclusively in the scan visor format is SOOOOOOOOO good to me. like yesssssss. use the restrictions of the in-game storytelling mechanic in immersive and innovative ways. communicate emotions using a writing style that has none whatsoever. clenches fist

I really loved the direct-to-video midquel Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas as a kid—it was probably the tape that I watched the most in second grade—but even at age eight I was like “I think that, if an evil organ had tried to kill everyone during the events of the original story, someone would have brought it up at some point.” It was one of the first times I started to think consciously about the “rules” of fiction, and it was all thanks to a crude CGI evil gay organ voiced by Tim Curry.
