Moon drawing-style update, I guess :D it's a LOT less drastic than some of my other updates to this man, so that's nice. Finally going full-in on the double thumbs too since I decided I like it a lot, and him not having thumbs would just bring up too many questions ~_~

Fun fact about TD: I considered the idea that his extra thumbs were somehow removed, but I already put this man through enough if I'm being honest, so that's not happening anymore. But it's something to think about if you're like me and have questions and like the possibility of angst :/ [and feel robbed that he didn't have two thumbs in the actual movie]

New Gods November 2023 - Week 4, Day 4: Alternate Realities!

once upon a time it was said that only one version of the New Gods exist across all Earths, but its rarely reflected after that. Most of these AUs are canon, some after 1/2 canon (featuring only one of the duo), and some are my own ideas :D This december is going on three years since I got into New Gods!

1: Orihound and Lightstray from the New Dogs (Earth C-Minus). Inspired by the art in their first/only appearance Captain Carrot and the Final Ark #3, by Scott Shaw, Scott Koblish, Tom Luth, and Drew Moore.

2: Thorion and Bald’r the Lightbringer of the New Asgods (Amalgam Earth). Inspired by the art . 

3: Lightray and Orion as members of the Lantern corps, designed by me. In this universe, an Apokolips-raised Orion loses all sense of control when given the red ring and decimates the population of Apokolips, then turns on Atrocitus for manipulating his mind. Seeing a threat to all Lantern Corps, Lightray of New Genesis volunteers to defeat Orion and retrieve his ring. Lightray’s design is based on his formal wear from volume 3, Orion’s is based on his rebirth uniform. OK i dont know if they can work out in this one honestly i just thought it’d be cool, theoretically 

4. Lightraydactyl and Orionodon, designed by me. The JL fighting Darkseid instead of Orion is a pet peeve of mine, but Jurassic League didnt even leave room for the New Gods to exist. i love the dinosaurs comic though Lightray was pretty straightforward, Orion’s design took inspiration from Darklyoseid’s canon design by Juan Gedeon, a sabertooth tiger (for Tigra), and Orion’s main universe costume for the colours.

5. Orion and Lightray Mechs. DC Mech killed Orion off in issue one boooooo! but it did mean i didnt have to design my own for his (Lightray's is mine though). This was inspired by one of the covers for Pacific Rim, because I will be thinking about a pacrim AU for them forever now.

6. Hunter and Neon Black. These guys aren’t actually LR and Orion, just two random inmates disguised as evil versions of them iirc, but I liked Neon Black’s design.

Well seeing as how I didn't mention feral, just furry porn in general, I am not interested in that conversation.

The first image very obviously reads as an animal, because it's a goddamn furry. The second image reads as a human, obviously.

But you'll notice that the furry has strikingly human eyes, and also a blonde hairdo. And that the anime character has, well, horns, purple-pink-white hair, no nose, eyes too big to be on a human being's face. Typical of stylized depictions when it comes to cartoons.

It's a fox, and it's a dragon girl. Neither of them are able to consent to sex, regardless of their ages or how old they appear to be or what species they are, because they're not real. They're images. They're fictional characters. They are concepts. No real child is being abused by someone making lewd images of Kana, and no real animal is being abused by someone making lewd images of that anthro fox. You cannot abuse something that does not exist.

Now. Let me show you an image of a real life kid who was abused throughout childhood.

The only thing I as a child had in common with those two characters I showed, as well as the characters on my shirt, is that I have blue eyes. And had blonde hair like the fox and Peach. Nothing else in common though.

I was a child when this photo was taken, and while you may think that would mean I had something in common with Kana, you would be wrong. As fictional characters are not real.

In middle school, I had an Instagram account. A pedophile on that app found me, harassed me, and forced me to send nude photos to him. I'm pretty sure that was CSEM, child sexual exploitation material.

There exists photos that I was threatened to take out there on some guy's PC or phone or the dark web or whatever. There also exists lewd drawings that artists have made of Kana on Pixiv. Do you know what the difference between that is?

The difference is that I was a real child who was harmed by the making of those images. And Kana is a fictional concept more similar to an emoji than a child. Lewd images of fictional characters are ok to make, because they are fictional.

Do you understand that? Do you understand the difference between a real life abused child and a fictional ffucking concept?

Now, I'm not saying you have to like shota porn and loli porn or furry porn or guro art. What I am saying is that fiction should be allowed to exist, censorship of fiction is always wrong, and harassing people is also always wrong.

It's ok to be uncomfortable with certain types of fiction, what's not ok is to think those fictions shouldn't be made or that they're morally wrong.

What's absolutely not ok is to equate images of characters that do not exist to actual real life children and animals. Because when you give loli porn and furry porn the same treatment as you do images and videos of children and animals being abused, you are actively endangering children and animals. You are making a mockery of abuse. You are normalizing abuse by comparing fiction to real life crime.

How did you come up with your werewolf? Did you have a clear vision of them? Or did you go through a couple versions before perfecting them?

Those are actually my preferred pronouns! They/them but I also accept he/him. I'm non binary, trans masc. If I ever get misgendered I try not to take it personally because I don't actually label it anywhere. The only thing I have on my profiles is 'Enby'. So Naoma started out very different when I was a kid. But they have grown with me as I've gotten older.

^ I spent DAYS trying to figure out a design for Naoma. I wanted more natural colors and pattern. So after like 2 weeks or so I came up with this design.

^I ended up making making their limbs black again and stopped using gradients.

^But with a friends input and my own want, I changed up the pattern, added more red and changed the limbs color. It's been like this ever since. (Ref base is by twistedhound) Naoma means everything to me. They are me in every single way. I draw them being an Idiot, I draw them being sad, angry, hungry, depressed. The scars they have, I also have. Eye color, eyebrow buzz. hair style(The fluff being tied back into a little pony tail/bun). So this is them now. I know this thread was long and I'm really sorry for that, but I hope it was fun to see the evolution of my fursona. SUN WUKONG INSPIRED OC CONCEPT + design notes under cut

His mask is inspired by makeup used in Chinese theatre and art, specifically makeup used for SWK's character, though simplified a lot for animation/repetition sake.

The design on his back takes inspiration from cobras and other animals that use eye-like patterns as a defense mechanism. The mythical beasts he faces in my story are based on real life predators, which are often ambush predators! When his back isnt covered by cloth, the bright colors on his back and face make it look like he's got eyes in both directions, meaning he can't be ambushed. His back design can and will be simplified for animation/repetition purposes, or covered with clothes. But they're still an important feature... they mean a lot to me.

Was also inspired by his role of protector against foes and ambushes in the original novel, just gives me that "you can't catch me offguard" vibe when I look at eye-designs on animals irl. Cobras my beloved...

He's supposed to have a monolid but I don't think I drew that well (even with references).... I'm trying my best to practice with eyes and while I believe i'm doing good with eye shapes, I need to work on eyelid stuff. Yk?

Dramatic facial expressions are an absolute must during intense scenes! Make him look like he got eliminated on the bachelor during the second to last round, and now he's gotta watch as everyone gets to go to Jamaica (first class flight). Make him look like he's Rick Grimes and his son just got shot. POV He's Walter White gif

Star/flower shaped tail for bonus silhouette sillies! I want him to look really unique compared to my Macaque (who's much more flat and has thinner, scruffier fur.)

His face is also more upturned and rounder than my Macaque's, who has a flatter nose-bridge and slightly more flatter/longer face. SWK's ears are also much more round and fluffy, and his brows are thick and actually exist! Remember: Macaque doesn't have noticeable eyebrows, he just has a noticeable eye-ridge.

His swoop is important. His swoop is very important.

"Where's his circlet?" I'm designing it + its easy to draw furry anthro characters naked for concept art. FYI.

DO NOT DRAW HIM WITH EYEBAGS. The eyebags on Macaque are a distinguishable feature and I don't want SWK to have smth similar! ^^'

I really wanted to make him brightly colored and much more lively/expressive compared to my Six Eared Macaque inspired OC! He's more dramatic, looks younger despite them both being the same age, and is more eye-catching than his counterpart. Hopefully I succeeded in that!

These are all a little old (from jan-march) but save for giblets I feel like I’ve got everyone pinned down nicely. Notes under the cut!! Don’t repost, feel free to tell me what you think 💕

1-2: Krubis. I hope you see my vision here. Mostly just trying to figure out if I like this hair texture for him or if I go curlier. I’m set for his work outfit though and I like the idea of him wearing glasses or shades 24/7. But yknow. I think this captures his essence. This is the sort of person he is in my eyes.

The second doodle is kind of rushed but I think in a human au maybe he’d forgo a prosthetic in most circumstances. Hell I think if he can remove the drill at all in canon then he does so when it comes to paperwork and shit. I think he was born without the arm so hes learnt to get by without any sort of prosthetic. I need to do more research into the matter though

3: Douglas. The shorter cut is more in character but I do like the (VERY SPLATOON INSPIRED BTW) braid idea. I think he’s on the younger side alongside the Skrendels? But also he’s very baby faced I think. To mirror the whole “actually Douglas was the silly blue goober the whole time” thing

4: Dr. Giblets. As I said before this sketch is a bit old but I did touch it up. A bit too lanky his face needs to be rounder. I think he’s the oldest of the officers maybe older than Garm. Probably? Not by much. Also 5 Torg in the corner but I didn’t like how she came out so she’ll be in the next batch of whatever 💔💔💔

5: Angela + Jonathan in armor bc for a human/more anthro au I think they’d all have these helmets that mirror the one big eye(and headcanons for what happens when they argue: Angela mediates between Jonathan and Mona, Jonathan does the same when Angela argues with Mona, and Mona just straight up leaves the two to beat the shit out of each other then tearfully apologize .). Also nipulon weezer blue.

6: Garmantuous. Idk if he should be bald or not. Also like 40? Could be a bit older maybe even younger… extra eyes HAVE TO be plugs though I have decided on this. I feel smart for this.

7: more Mona ^_^ more developed sketch of the same hc that he just dips if the other two ever argue + fem presenting alt design + probably what went through his head by the time the BH took out his other brothers during the fight. Also his hair would be bleached blonde 👍🏼 but all the Skrendels have very dark hair naturally.

(On that note: as mentioned before Krubis’s hair is all grey now to mirror the drill. Douglas not sure probably brown or strawberry blond/gingery but dyed blue. Giblets. Uh. Idk it’s pink ish but that way naturally somehow and greying obviously. Garm also blonde but probably bleached? And like I said Skrendels all have black or brown hair but Mona bleached his and Jonathan dyes his hair every now and then

Finished working on this design idea for Asgore in Resetgore. A Fell AU where Asgore, Grillby, and Sans fight the human in the last corridor together during a genocide run. With Asgore winning in the end and causing a reset.

There is still some stuff I'm debating about with Asgore's design. I like the 4 horns and ears idea. Along with the hooved anthro legs. The main thing I'm still deciding on is the coloring of the sclera, and the coloring for his hair. I wanted it to be a dark color but not completely black. I'm thinking that maybe I should also change the coloring of his eye patch there. I'll be working a little more on his design later.

His coat coloring mostly has a dark, not exactly black, but a sorta black coloration with white markings on his face. While from his elbows down to his hands and half way down his legs are white as well. With his upper ears and the inner part of his second ears being white. Yes I'm giving Asgore a lion tail. It's just that his armor made it to where I couldn't show it in this drawing. I'll be working on Grillby next then I might do a speedpaint of Resetgore Asgore, Grillby, and Sans together... Future me problems!

Finally catching up on Ethersea! Here’s a couple comics about how thats been going.
