#what did they talk about when they were alone for that one segment of uf . . . humming #i'm sure this post has been made before by someone more eloquent but i don't shut up. ❤️❤️❤️#it's like the fact that they both lose their parents at a young age #both are succeeded by a large fortune #both are incredibly insurmountably lonely in a way they are not equipped to deal with #both develop poor coping mechanisms (though one notably more poor than the other . . . el oh el)#both develop a one-sided codependence on layton (or rather. more like the Idea of him. the concept he represents)#they also both spend a lot of screentime poorly disguised god bless ❤️#flora just seems to shrink inward while clive. Well #flora is seemingly willing to accept any type of mistreatment so long as she's told she won't be left alone again #whether because she can't bear the alternative or if she genuinely believes them every time is debatable #she's fine with being temporarily abandoned because she is used to it. as long as she's kept around some of the time she's fine #but clive internalizes every slight and files it away in some increasingly grandiose and frankly childish revenge fantasy #on a small handful of people that HAVE wronged him and a couple hundred thousand that never will #everything he sees is taken as proof of a worldview he doesn't even seem to necessarily hold himself #that at the end of the day is simply a manifestation of a seeping debilitating loneliness #they both have people that care for them. but not really in the type of way they need or want #i have more to say but . . . alas. not intelligent enough for it #my point: both of these characters ard the same coincidence? i think not. Had a lot of easy and okay convos w my mom today (things did go well 👍) and one of them was passing by MECA (Maine College of Art) and her going "I always thought you'd end up going there" and like. A bit of lmfaoing at the idea I mean I barely managed to graduate highschool. Also that shit is expensiiiiiiive. A brief discussion about scholarships occurs but again I did not perform even decently academically. I barely could show up at all and when I did I was fighting for my fucking life. Nevertheless. I told her "Eh I make a lot of art on my own time, anyway!" and she goes "I'm sure you do" in sort of a wistful thoughtful tone and I tell her "I've kinda gotten more serious about comics lately" and she got nostalgic and enthusiastic like "I thought you'd end up doing that! You've always been doing that, since you were little" and it's a really really beautiful moment maybe but in the back of my mind I can't help but think. I'm just really autistic and weird about Alfonse Fire Emblem. And Sharena my friend Sharena. And I guess I have a lot of stories to tell about Moe and Mani and that IS something I'm extremely passionate about, but both are like inseparable like intrinsically intertwined by the fact that I'm just insane about the Askr siblings from hit mobile game Fire Emblem: Heroes.

keep seeing cool artists do timeskip versions of Pokémon characters and decided I wanna do them for the SV cast, so here's Arven to start with!!

She's worked out her mommy issues to an extent, but still feels a need to make up for Sada's mistakes. Also think she might be engaged/married to Nemona, but I'll figure it out.

Maaan I love the optimistic advice "keep practicing and you'll get better at art" as much as the next artist, but it always rubs me the wrong way when that evolves into "just keep practicing and you WILL 100% succeed and CAN get into the industry."

It changes from good general advice to implying you're just doing something wrong if still haven't "made it" yet. Not in the industry? Well, you just haven't worked hard enough, obviously, as if there aren't plenty of other factors that play into "succeeding” in a highly competitive industry like art.

Don’t let advice that’s supposed to be encouraging turn into something discouraging 😭

#there’s a lot more to worming your way into the art industry than just. studying art real hard and working your bones off #hard work only gets you so far.#a lot of ‘success’ also starts at childhood and that goes for any industry #having supportive family and even better if they’re financially supportive #good early education. good physical and mental health. the ability to focus and do the same task over and over for hours #good social skills- because networking gets you a lot further than pure talent alone.#growing up in a convienaint location to even network at all. or the power to travel to such a location.#natural talent puts you ahead. brains work differently so it’s ignorant to pretend natural talent isn’t a thing #some take to a skill faster than others because their brain comes out more wired for it. so their skills develop easier and faster #music never came to me. I can’t hear the tone of my own voice most of the time. I DID study music and take mystic classes as a teen #it’s insulting to be banged over the head with ‘if you study music you’ll start to get it.’ I’m 28 #I know myself and have tried during an age which music is easier to learn and yet I did not. I don’t have talent for it- my brain doesn’t-#-grasp it. the same with any art. some will struggle more to learn visual art ‘good enough’ for the industry #and implying that they just don’t get it yet becasue they haven’t tried hard enough is insulting #you can always get better. always always!! but sometimes grinding is just… grinding. fruitless and painful #I failed algebra twice as a teen. I couldn’t understand punnet squares till my 20s.#saying work harder and you’ll become a math professor would be insulting. implying I never tried to learn at all.#implying that even tho I took tutoring multiple times that maybe. if I just took one more. poor id suddenly be more able.#people work hard and it just clicks and 10 years later you’re in a great art industry job… you’re not the rule. you’re the exception #ugggh sorry :p just frustrated. sometimes people just don’t realize the kind of luck they’ve had in life and it irritates me

#jung eun chae #Yoon Seung Ah #Dr Frost #KDrama based on webtoon #I SHIP them Your Honour #not at all a remarkable or memorable show in any aspects #EXCEPT for Jung Eun Chae and her beautiful and adorable character #I simply live for the scenes where JEC attempted to act all ditzily smart and caring #she was not doing too well #but I LOVE HER all the same #since am watching this averagely mediocre drama solely because of her #and something easy and breezy is what the Dr ordered after the last few infuriating shows #those shows were superb but still…#but 10 hours of passable is worth it because of JUNG EUN CHAE #not a bad drama per se though #she made me squee with fangirl delight every time she graced my screen #fortunately she was quite a prominent character��️#and there IS A LOVELINE (sort of)#but YES #she was so pretty and just a cutie pie #with screen presence even if her performance was green #LOVE HER and HER CHARACTER (no buts)#no regrets at all in starting this drama #nearly halfway through #❤️‍🔥🥰😍🌸#love the age gap and Professor/Assistant tropes #as well as the grumpy/stoic X sunshine dynamics #Dr Frost was so much more expressive with his unwanted assistant than anyone else #shipping goals #and I absolutely adore YSA’s mini-car 😍🤩

What do you think about people saying Payu has a lot of red flags through the show?

I tried typing stuff to elaborate on that

But really... that's it.

I like the show. The acting is fantastic. The lighting is so pretty and has a personality of its own.

And I'm going to be normal and simply say the sex scenes are very creative. I am doing my best to contain what could be a 100,000 word essay on the sex scenes that would blow your entire mind.

And because I don't feel like typing it, I'll just say that the 2nd coolest course I took in university was the psychology of sex and sensuality in media. And clearly the director took that course too. I have never in my entire media-watching life seen a more masterful grasp and application of media psychology.

So yeah.

I enjoy it for what it is and really don't care about microanalyzing the morals or ethics of stuff.

Characters end up happy. I know how to spot a red flag IRL. Imma enjoy the show about 4 men with fantastic jawlines (and the one guy with resting "I'm going to stab you for fun" face).

#irrelevant to this ask but the coolest class was the same professor and it was the psychology of horror and crime in media #each of the psychology tie-in honors courses were not just how stuff is depicted but also how the human brain processes it #and how it is different for men vs women and different age groups and lgbt vs straight and honestly i reread my class notes for fun #10 years after graduating #that's how absolutely incredibly interesting and amazing those courses were #I took 5- sex and sensuality; horror; reality tv; comedy; and one about children's programming #if your university offers media psychology courses fucking take them but especially sex and then rewatch LITA #it's almost dizzying how perfect it is and the layers that you're seeing #i cannot be normal about how absolutely balls to the wall insanely well done it was #so yeah i don't care about the red flags because there are so many green #ask
