God Hiccup would be such an annoying cat owner. Buys fucking like not even gourmet cat food, he gets real fish (only the best for Toothless). He's constantly sending you pictures of his stupid cat Astrid receives a minimum of 7 pictures of Toothless that look almost exactly the same daily. There's more framed photos in the house of that cat than the people that live there. 0 pictures of Hiccup on any of his socials all of it is Toothless. Can't take Hiccup anywhere bc the cat has to come too (so many plans have been canceled bc the meet up spot isn't animal friendly). He takes his stupid cat everywhere has one of those goddamn backpacks and it's leash trained too. See him in a hardware store, ask him what he's buying and he goes "oh I'm building a new tree for my cat." and he has like an ungodly amount of wood beams and twine in the cart. You just know that cat is so fucking spoiled.

(i also thought the inclusion of a line confirming that movie lydia's biological mom is still alive was interesting given how much the musical revolves around her coping with her mom's death)

it was new years eve, astrid was out with bentley and his friends, she'd been looking forward to this night for AGES. she'd spent hours choosing her outfit, she eventually settled on a beautiful velvet dress and her friends helped her with hair & make-up.

she clung onto bentley's hand as the pair entered the busy bar, astrid could feel everyone's eyes on them but that just made her feel even more confident. she gives his hand a squeeze, "do you wanna grab a drink first?".

I know a movie only has so much time, and Hiccup is a very forgiving person, and he was caught up in the excitement, But I'm just saying if there was a post-httyd2 show there would be a lot more discussion about how he feels about Valka effectively abandoning him

I wish we were able to see more of the fallout of Valka leaving Hiccup and Stoick. And if Stoick had survived, I feel like that would have complicated things more. I mean, on the one hand, Valka was so much happier living with dragons than living on Berk, but on the other, she left Stoick to raise Hiccup alone (+Gobber lol)

I know that if I were Hiccup I would feel pretty hurt that she was able to make the decision to stay away and stick to it (and worry a bit that something might send her away again) and now I really just need a fic about Hiccup and Valka having a conversation in the aftermath of HTTYD 2 and dealing w Stoick’s death

It would not make any sense with the way the episode is currently going, but I think Eadwulf should appear inexplicably at the end, have a moment of flirting with Kingsley, and promptly get turned down because he is fated to be the Tantalus of flirting, forever having charged sexual tension with people who ultimately wind up not pursuing it further.
