Okay but since you started, to continue ar*row posting into 2024, it was blatantly obvious Quentin resented Laurel for being the one that lived when they all thought Sara died, and people still thought he was a good dad??? The whole Lance family was so fucked up and Laurel deserved a better family
oh yeah 100% both quentin and dinah thought the wrong daughter died on that boat. there is no doubt about it. they resented laurel for being alive instead of sara. they did not hide their favoritism well. with dinah, she was open about it. with quentin, it only came out in waves, usually when he was drunk but even when he was sober it still sometimes seeped out of him in these little hissed remarks.
it's one of the reasons thinking about laurel's childhood fascinates me so much. at a glance, the lance family was a normal middle class family. two beautiful, smart girls, a home, two parents with well respected careers and a loving marriage. a happy family.
but i have to wonder if it was really all that happy for laurel.
i mean. she dated oliver for years. devoted herself to him. adored him. she took him back when he made mistakes, she wanted to move in with him, she wanted to marry him, she loved him with everything the whole way through. and he treated her like trash. he cheated on her over and over and over again with her friends and her sister. he had zero respect for her. he was stupid and he was nasty and he was cruel. and it's not like the island changed him when it came to her. i'm sorry but it didn't. he was an arrow in her lung from the day she met him until the day she died. and she just. accepted that. she accepted that was all she would get and lived with it until the end. that was as far as she got in terms of believing in her own worth.
that kind of chronic, damaging low self esteem doesn't come from nowhere. laurel's canonical desperation and pleading and searching for love was one of her most devastating traits (partly because she was never able to find it) and it's something that can only come from the lack of love. and that shit starts at the top. it starts with mom and dad. they poisoned her. bit by bit until she was dead, gone, and replaced, quite literally, by a doppelganger.
no, i'll never understand why people love "papa lance." he was only a loving father to one daughter. he was an abuser to the other.
that's one of the reasons why one of the recurring characters in my laurel fics is her non canon grandmother. she needs at least one family member to love her completely and unconditionally. lord knows no one else did.

hi, sorry if this is too personal but if you dont mind, will you let us know why did you leave SDA?
sorry i took so long to answer this, i've been trying to come up with a better answer but i think i will just be blunt: i value science and facts that are true in real life and not pulled completely out of someone's ass or their awful fundamentalist interpretation of the bible, and i don't appreciate religion being used as a tool to subjugate and instill fear. it was extremely fucked up to grow up wanting to die asap because i was taught the sunday law was imminent and i would be tortured and killed for going to church on saturday if i wasn't "lucky enough" to be dead first. i was barely educated as a child and when i went through the sda education system in high school and college it left gaping holes in my knowledge and cost exorbitant amounts of money to do so. "the health message" destroyed my relationships with food and (aided by lethal levels of misogyny) my body. they barely let women preach much less be ordained. i couldn't act normal about saturdays until recently. also i'm gay. also the constant pushing of missionary bullshit is evil. dude you get the side eye for wanting to drink coffee or use black pepper or eat pickles. they will go to the ends of the earth to "prove" the world is 6000 years old. why would you stay

So do Ingo and Emmet have a like… telepathy in nihilego (as nihilego?? Idk what to call them 😭)? Does Ingo have any idea what’s going on, or did Nihilego-Emmet just show up and yoink him?
Their form is so terrifyingly cute, and I absolutely adore the design. That first drawing has absolutely enamored me to this au, I am sooo fascinated with this 👀 your art and designs are so good too, do you do concept art professionally or something?? Like this is great. Also the tags are very funny, Emmet telling Ingo his turn on the xbox is over 😆
Aaaa thank you so much for the question ^^!!
The inside of the bell is a bit like a closed off room, so they usually just talk in there. The reason Emmet leans forward to talk is because his voice is less clear in this burst form, also because holding onto Ingo makes him feel more secure (as in less worried that he’s going to get hurt). Technically Emmet could set up telepathy but that would be a very dangerous thing that he wouldn’t try with Ingo. Generally though they’ll communicate what they’re going to do by speaking/yelling, especially if Ingo needs Emmet to cover the bell while he strikes or if Emmet needs Ingo to freeze for a special move.
Also Ingo is aware of what’s happening! It’s mostly just weird being part of a new body so he’s getting to see what that’s like. In the actual context of the event, Ingo is actually the one who asks Emmet to fuse for the sake of winning the final battle. If I wasn’t stuck doing schoolwork I’d sketch a glimpse of that scene for you since it connects to their relationship and experience as fighters.
I’m very flattered you think I do this professionally ^^ I’m in highschool, I just do this for fun. It is something I’ve considered though!
I hope I could give you a satisfactory answer, thank you for asking :D

The only way I can see Buddie not happening now is if the reason they pivoted from Eddie to Buck is because Ryan isn't comfortable portraying a gay character.
yeah, don't be coming in here with that bullshit.
ryan has no problem playing a gay character. im pretty sure he's done it before, and he's already said, in the past & in recent interviews that he's open to buddie. ryan guzman is the person who created the ship name.
if you wanna continue on with the rhetoric that ryan is homophobic, then go over to twitter or find another blog on here that follows the same rhetoric, but it ain't gonna slide here.

I honestly think that the correct way to interact with any social media platform is to low key hate being there
I say this largely based on how some people on Tumblr have gone from calling it a hellsite (derogatory) to a hellsite (affectionate) and not only treat this site as if it lacks the flaws seen in every social media site, but that it's absolute worst flaws are actually "part of the charm"
The moment you actually like a site like Tumblr, the brainrot may be terminal

From Daigo considering Kiryu a father figure and the substory with him in Y0 I assume Kiryu was there a lot to tell him not to be a little shit. Yayoi and Daigo do not have the closest relationship during his 30-year old rebellious teen phase, but I got the impression it wasn't always like that. The fact that 12-year old Daigo was hanging around Kamurocho with older kids does imply Yayoi wasn't keeping a close eye on him but I get the impression that what parenting she did do would have been vaguely in the right direction.
yeah yeah that's what i was referring to in me last ask: the fact that, through daigo's y0 substory, you learn that kiryu's pretty much been one of the only really consistent people in his life to hang out with him
when it comes to yayoi and her parenting though, she readily admits she priorities the clan over daigo's feelings and needs (not just when he's an adult, but admits that ever since he was a kid she and sohei have always chosen the clan over him). at the very least, she's incredibly self aware of how lacking she is as a mother, and so at the same time is remorseful about her inability to connect with nor help daigo when he needs it
all of that said, it's hard to gauge what her parenting skills are actually like. sure, daigo turned out to be a respectable man, but again kiryu- whether you like/hate him or question his capabilities as a father- had a key, significant role in daigo's upbringing and is undoubtedly the main influence on his personality and manners. considering how willing daigo was to bend to kiryu's word as a kid, it wouldn't be hard to assume that if yayoi was as hard on him as she is when he's an adult, he might not have had that rambunctious phase nor attitude. the most i can conclude about her parenting is that she's wholly neglectful (and outright abusive when it came to telling daigo she would be taking the role of acting chairman) due to her prioritization towards duty

Oh Hella your DM sounds like a good one! Hope you have fun and that coin is amazing should we add practice the coin trick to your schedule? /gen
ACTUALLY YEAH PLEASE
#my dm is such an angel i was a bit worried at first bc he's the one that was flirting with me#but he's cooled off and even so i can tell it's more the harmless kind than anything i'll actually have to set boundaries on#and we had our first session last night and it was genuinely insane like he's SUCH a good dm#i was so so immersed the entire time like he had this one NPC and he puts so much LIFE into his ocs like accents and mannerisms#not just backstory/set-up and this npc stayed with us the ENTIRE 4+ hour session#and at the very end he KILLED HIM and it was done so well that one of the players literally teared up#and the rest of us were just sat there in gobsmacked silence#and it's a SUPER wild group too like it's hard for the dm to wrangle them all at times bc jokes tend to domino and get rowdy#so to have us all like that and on the first session no less was INSANE#he also introduced a dragon and i said to him afterwards 'im getting that dragon' bc i mentioned another time that im DESPERATE#to get a pet dragon or even just a dragon i have some dodgy deal with ill take ANYTHING#and he just very casually went 'oh you'll get a dragon' HELLO??? FUCK YEAH#like he listens to his players and he keeps us on track without being too strict and gets super enthusiastic about our ideas#and the rest of the group are all so cool like they're all either queer or neurodivergent or both#i just feel for the first time in maybe my entire life that im in a completely non-judgemental place for my interests#like in the nicest way possible they're all just a bit weird and it would be very hard for me to be the weirdest one there#and there's something SO cathartic about that like literally go ham bc they're not gonna be scared off yk?#like even if i had an interest totally out of left field that none of them shared i just know they'd be so welcoming of it regardless#idk. they're neat. i think this campaign is gonna be really fucking cool#ask#hella goes to uni

i need to draw o/ff characters again and post hcs abt them to my blog. oogoog
#i dont particularly like the popular hc that en/och eats his els/en. it feels weird to me for multiple reasons#KEEP IN MIND THIS IS ALL PERSONAL THINKINGS OK ok here i go#ik i said id post em on the blog but im abt to go to sleep so imma say it here#but like. mahybe im just crazy or looking too deep into things. but i dont see any reason for en/och = eats his els/en besides the fact#that hes fat. and like thats it from what i can rememebr.#like id ont. remember him saying any dialogue that would insinuate it??#OK hold on clarifying = eats them alive/eats their bodies and NOT just eating burnt ashes/sugar#OR it could also be something that like was thought of bc of the horror element of the game +#the zone is a zone that is like Heeyyyy everyone eats everyone here :) so obvs it could just be like a horror hc to go with the theme#or environment of the zone#so like obvs im not gonna like. be upset over ppl liking the hc like to most people it seems just canon to them#but i do not like it....not one bit. he WOULD gaslight and manipulate his workers. absoltuely. but he would NOT eat them alive.#i feel like en/och is too much of like...he has high standards for his foods (chef it up. he can make the fanciest of meals and the nicest#of cakes). so i feel like he'd be like. insulted like ummmmmm no lol that is NOT very presentable. and gross. put their ashes in it and#dress it up and maybe ill eats it then :] yk????#IDK. maybe im just thinking waayyyy too much into this. but i kinda dont care i love this game and i love en/och.#i dont need to fix him hes perfect as he is (manipulative and a cannibal but not like that way. ok?)#cant you let her win for once ?????#ok ok im done for now but for this game? my dear friends. i am ALWAYS open to talking about my thoughts#ow.file

Bro when ppl start saying well misandry is real because men are pressured to not showcase their emotions ever or only in violent ways leading to a whole other host of suffering I just want to shake them and scream. That's not misandry, thats an extension of misogyny. Men are not being uniquely oppressed this is the negative effects of the power structure that our society has built around men being dominant and women being submissive. Like what do ppl often tell those men when pushing these things on them? They stay it makes them weak, and more specifically womanly. Because women are seen as weak and men as strong. So anything that's socially seen as a woman thing is seen as weak. Yes it affects men negatively as well but it's never been directed at them as a form of oppression, yall have absolutely failed at understanding systemic oppression on every level

please tell me more without spoiling because i have this book on my shelf waiting to be picked up and i must know your opinion
hello, my love! sorry for getting back to this a little late, but i have indeed finished the book now! i have a LOT of thoughts on it, mostly negative to be completely honest with you hsdfsh but since its on your shelf i dont want to completely put you off reading it dsfsdh😭and of course it is worth taking into account that in not enjoying it i am most definitely in the minority! its a very very popular book so people are definitely finding things to love in it!
in terms of things i did like about it, it was an easy read and for the most part engaging! i think the book is too long, and as such i started to get a bit bored at the end, but mostly even when i wasnt enjoying it i wasnt necessarily bored. its a book that hinges on you finding the main characters compelling and i think if you do you'll probably be golden and really enjoy it...and while i think if you love video games youll probably like it, you dont need to like video games to like this book. i dont care about video games but i never really felt that prevented me from enjoying the book (not that that would be a fault of the book, if it had).
to be honest, there were quite a lot of components of this book that did not work for me. it felt poorly written, poorly structured, poorly edited. it felt full of things we were told rather than shown--how talented and special the characters were, how important and profound their relationships were. i didnt really find any evidence of this in the book. lots of people loved the main characters but personally i really hated them bshdbsf, we were told they were so interesting and unique and great but i found everyone so unrealistic and obnoxious? i dont actually remember many really meaningful moments between any of them at all, i couldnt name a single interesting positive trait the two main characters had, and i wasnt invested in them and their story--their arguments and points of conflict felt so bizarre and forced, i couldnt even remember why characters felt the way they did towards each other? side characters felt really wooden and were picked up and dropped at a whim...i could not understand why the author thought i would care about them when so little work seemed to have been put into making them interesting, or real, or likeable.
as i said this book really requires you to at least buy into these characters even if you dont like them and i should stress again, lots of people really loved them! but i just did not care about them, and that felt like the main thing that went wrong for me personally.
