Getting to know Chuuya (pt2):
Chuuya technically had pulled you into the Port Mafia so he was the one who had to hand down an item to you. The day Mori told him to give you something of his was the most irritating day ever for him but… he ended up giving you his choker.
“There, keep it… just keep it.”
“Uh… a collar?”
“NO NOT A COLLAR… just put the d*mn thing on.”
The following day, he acquired an identical replacement for himself, inadvertently matching with you.
"I definitely wear it better," he remarked, a hint of amusement softening his frustration.
The bickering almost NEVER ended and there was always something being quarreled about.
“YOU’VE JUST ABOUT PUSHED ME TO MY LIMIT, CHUUYA!” you exclaimed, frustration boiling over as you grabbed him by the throat.
In retaliation, Chuuya seized you by the collar and forcefully pushed you against the wall. “YOU’RE ASKING FOR TROUBLE, YOU LITTLE BRAT!”
There were many times when Chuuya and you would yell in one another's faces, grab each other by the throat, and occasionally crush one another up against the wall. Your heated exchanges often escalated to shouting matches, with both parties grabbing each other in fits of anger. It was a volatile mix of fury, frustration, and a primal need to vent. But in this particular moment, the size of both of your pupils and the lift of your brows had grown rapidly… along with a few other things… like the tension in the room. As his gaze swept across yours, it seemed like he was committing every part of your face to memory and couldn’t stop… until Mori knocked on the door to assess how you were settling in. After that day, You and Chuuya had undeniable chemistry but it was never really touched on or acknowledged.
Over time you started to get used to Chuuya and his behavior. Bickering was always a common trend between you both and it seemed like hate at first glance but most times the real issue was that you both weren't used to expressing any type of emotion besides anger, even when comforting. Despite the constant friction, there were moments when you noticed a softer side to Chuuya. For example…
- Chuuya made sure to protect you under all circumstances no matter how badly you both bickered. Like the time a bullet almost pierced through your arm in a mission. It didn’t take corruption for Chuuya to send the bullet flying back through the assailant's skull…. and leg… and torso. We get it, Chuuya.
But acknowledging those moments felt like admitting vulnerability, so instead, you both continued to trade barbs and sarcasm, hiding the budding warmth beneath the surface. As days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, the tension between you only seemed to grow, sparking a fire that neither of you dared to extinguish.
After that mission was over, he wanted to go out to the bar but didn't really want to go alone.
“Man, I could really use some booze right about now.”
“I'm surprised your body can even tolerate booze, half-pint.”
“Half-pint of alcohol does sound grea- wait a minute. YOU CALLIN ME SHORT?”
“Of course not.”
He dragged you along to a bar with him despite you not wanting to go and ordered a bunch of drinks. You sit next to him, swirling the drink around in the cup and tapping your foot. Chuuya drank so much you had to be the one to carry him back to the Port Mafia and the one to deal with his violent hangover the next day. When you both arrive back at the HQ, you lie him down in his bedroom and take off his hat, placing it onto the top part of the lamp and letting it hang like he always does.
“Chuus… *you laugh softly and shake your head.* you're reckless as hell.”
Chuuya starts to snore loudly, almost tauntingly as he rolls over in bed.
“Asshole.”
For the most part this became a weekly thing. You carried Chuuya back to the PM every Saturday when he had drank entirely too much and you both bickered constantly, even worse when drunk. Even then, Chuuya's invitations to the bar carried with it a weighty undercurrent of yearning, his desire for companionship masked by casual banter. What’d you expect? He’s emotionally constipated and let’s be real… you probably are too...
To be continued...

kurapika anon back again!! i would love to know more about your thoughts on the troupe not being fully responsible for the death of the kurta.
personally, i see it more as they committed the actual murder, but someone was pulling the strings, whether that be through the pariston/sheila theory, or tserriednich. especially considering they seem to be under the impression that it’s some kind of revenge on the kurta, while the kurta have been peaceful for a very long time by the time they were massacred.
i saw someone on reddit make the theory that the kurta were the ones that caused meteor city to be so broken down to begin with, but that would be so long ago that i think it would be unreasonable for the troupe to still act on it. possibly chrollo was lied to about that being the case? or falsely told that the kurta were planning an attack?
Hi again!
So, I will say that my theories are all a bit vague, more like a bunch of puzzle pieces than a complete picture, but I'll share my thoughts nonetheless! If anyone else has additions or more insight, feel free to add on--there's so much to consider on this topic, and I don't feel like I've considered every single piece of evidence there is out there.
For a long time, I've felt that there's uncertainty around the Phantom Troupe's actions and the Kurta massacre. For one thing, we've never been shown any images of the Phantom Troupe being involved, nor did any characters we know of directly witness them killing the Kurta, and Uvo initially doesn't remember the Kurta when asked about them (he does when he sees Kurapika's eyes, but even then it seems a little odd). The way the Kurta massacre is set up seems intentionally vague all around, which makes me think there are pieces of the puzzle Togashi has been keeping from us.
He remembers enough where it's entirely possible they did do it or at least heard about it in depth, but also remember the Phantom Troupe started out as an acting troupe. It's possible they either a) did it after being given false information or were manipulated into it, or b) took credit for it for some reason even though they weren't involved. I lean more towards a), but b) is also possible.
I also feel like, the Phantom Troupe are clearly not morally upstanding citizens, to put it mildly, but as we've seen them are they truly capable of a full-on intentional massacre of innocent people, including children, for the sake of money/trophies? Most of the violence we've seen from them has been towards mafia and Chimera Ants. I mean, Feitan does torture people as a hobby and Chrollo kills a whole bunch of audience members in his fight with Hisoka, among other examples, so it's not like it's impossible to even consider they would ever do such a thing, but I'm just somewhat skeptical nonetheless.
The Phantom Troupe backstory threw even more uncertainty into the mix for me. Sarasa is a victim in a similar way to the Kurta, and as of yet the jump between where the Phantom Troupe left off in the flashback and the way the Kurta are killed seems strange. It's likely we'll get something more to fill that gap and explain how this development happened in the manga going forward, but, there's just something about it that seems "off" to me. How did this group of people go from wanting to find the murderers of their friend--albeit at all costs, and saying they are willing to become the villains and kill people in order to get revenge--to a group of people who may have murdered 100+ people for the sake of trophies, similar to what happened to Sarasa? That doesn't match their stated aims, and while it's possible they simply became more and more twisted by going down their road of revenge, I feel like there's more to it. It's interesting either way, so if that is the case, I'll accept it, but I feel like we're missing something major.
Note that they're trying to become so fearsome that people stay away from Meteor City and the people can be safer there/not preyed upon, so that would give them a reason to maybe take credit for what happened to the Kurta even if they weren't involved. And again, they started off as an acting troupe...
I also have had a suspicion for a long time that, with the way Kurapika's powers are set up specifically for the Phantom Troupe, he might eventually end up in a situation where, oops, the Phantom Troupe is not his target after all in order to get what he wants! It feels like a very Togashi kind of irony, and will put him in a difficult position.
Tserriednich is shown with a head above his throne in addition to the scarlet eyes, and his nen beast has a child's head inside of it that looks suspiciously like Pairo's. I think it's very possible Tserriednich or mafia surrounding him were involved in the acquisition of the scarlet eyes. It's possible either the Phantom Troupe were baited or manipulated into killing the Kurta in some way (told that the Kurta were responsible for Sarasa's death and the missing children in Meteor City, for instance), or that they took credit for it in order to bolster their own image as fearsome villains in order to reach their aims.
I also feel like Tserriednich is a direct representation of what Kurapika (and to a certain extent, the Troupe too, at least in the past) resents and abhors--the wanton murder of human beings for reasons of aesthetics, trophies, and "art." So to me, it makes sense he would be Kurapika's ultimate antagonist rather than the Troupe, who in a way are weirdly similar to Kurapika, or at the very least started out that way. If Tserriednich was somehow involved with what happened to Sarasa/the children of Meteor City as well (assuming the timeline supports such a thing, and I'm not totally certain it does), it's even possible Kurapika and the Troupe could end up on the same side, both trying to take Tserriednich down.
There's also the question of Sheila... Like I pointed out in this post, I'm very curious about this panel of her turning away from the Troupe and what it means.
I'm not totally sure I buy the Sheila = Pariston theories (though I haven't ruled it out either), but something is up with Sheila for sure, especially because of her appearance later with Kurapika and Pairo before the Kurta massacre. It's possible she lured someone there, possibly not the Phantom Troupe but maybe mafia members instead--maybe the same mafia members who murdered Sarasa? Or maybe she did pass the info to the Phantom Troupe--but it is weird that here she's shown going away from them with such a sad and complicated expression (as if maybe she were involved with what happened to Sarasa in some way), so it seems odd for her to be working with them later.
@subdee did a great post on this topic as well that has some additional thoughts and evidence as well, so I recommend checking that out!
Ultimately, I think there's a lot of doubt and mystery surrounding the Kurta Massacre, and I do feel like the series is setting up the idea of Tserriednich being the final hurdle for Kurapika to take down. There are a lot of possibilities still for exactly what happened to the Kurta and also for what will happen in the future with Kurapika and the Phantom Troupe, but I do feel like we're still missing a few puzzle pieces that will (hopefully) soon become clear. I do think this arc is going to be the end for the major plots of Kurapika, the Phantom Troupe, and Tserriednich, so I'm very curious and excited for how things will pan out!

No wonder this show became a hit. They really asked "you know what's better than one guy forced to give up something that it would break him to lose?" and gave us a whole bunch in different color shirts and said "Enjoy! :D"
(x, x)
right!!!! one of my favorite things about kinnporsche is how the show's like "here's some sexy mafia guys" except it's a TRICK, all the boys are at their sexy best when they're loving and domestic and caring for each other and get traumatized any time they actually act mafia. this show has its messy moments and goodness knows how their world works sometimes, but the writers had the most correct priorities when it comes to the emotional beats of the story.
Khun: the emotional journey of a deeply traumatized guy where we only see him in the aftermath, desperately clawing his way back to some sense of normality. how absolutely tender ep3 was with Porsche taking him to a new space, gently holding Khun's hand and asking him to stay with him and trust that he'll keep him safe, and he does, and we see Khun grow into a fiercer protector who can chase after the people he cares about past his walls and defend his home when its security is compromised.
Kinn: he wasn't a cold mafia boss softened by love, he was always a bleeding heart who's kindness was mercilessly beaten out of him. he falls in love so fast and so hard and it's so good watching his past traumas rear their ugly heads but him letting go of his old ghosts and clawing his way past them anyways, because he so desperately wants love and wants to love. and like? what a baller move that is for his character? he's a mafia boss, and a merciless one at that, but he also wants to be soft and cute and a good brother and boyfriend and all his people safe while living in and facilitating his violent and blood soaked world. the wonderful contradiction you are Kinn <333
Kim: the boy who tries to sacrifice everything for his and their greater happiness except it just makes him all the more miserable because this show really said there is no glory in what you give up or destroy, only what you shelter and protect. he's a self-saboteur but you can't help but root for him all the more because of it. he's just so scared to care, of that being used to trap him or anyone else, yet he's falling face first into his own schemes because he loves so much and so deep.
and just. Porsche, carving himself to pieces trying not to lose anything. Chay, who will twist himself into knots trying to hold everything he sacrificed for. Vegas, who tries to drive everything away before it can abandon him and shattering when it goes. Pete, who repressed and ignored all his wants and discontent until it shattered him.
i just. i love these boys. i'm obsessed with these boys. kp had a lot of balls to juggle and a bananas premise to do it in, but they nailed all the big emotions so good, i'm still mashing potatoes over them two years later.
#kinnporsche#not to just. wail over the boys but#so many flavors of trauma and tragedy#i love it so dearly#the descent into darkness alone but with the little candle of hope they'll crawl back out together#[mashes more potatoes]

You don’t have to be sad alone.
Soukoku Dazai has bad days, isolation seems to be his solution. Luckily Chuuya don’t accept that.
Normally when you wake up you tend to leave bed.
Dazai did not.
He stayed in. Ignored the knocks of the too polite coworkers. Turned off his phone with a bunch of ‘mindful’ and ‘worried’ messages. And pulled his blankets over his head. It was warm, the weight on top of him was comforting, and the silence surrounding him was suffocating.
But at the same time that the silence was unbearable, so was the thought of getting up. So he just stayed there.
That is until a knock not so polite banged on the door. When shouts not so mindful started to ricochet throughout his apartment. And a really pissed Chuuya stormed into his place.
“The fuck are you doing?” Chuuya yelled, his movements followed by the sound of plastic bags shuffling. “Don’t ignore me.”
Dazai took a peek from inside his blankets and just stared at the redhead.
“Sleeping.” A pause. “You can go now.”
“Oh right, sleeping for three days straight.” The sound in the kitchen started to increase and Dazai just growled with irritation.
“I’m not hungry, you can go.”
“Who said I was making it for you?” He started to take all sorts of food from the bags and hummed happily as he opened a bottle of whine.
Dazai chose to ignore him and pulled the blankets back up. Not that he did much sleeping these past days, but Chuuya didn’t have to know that.
The slug started to trash over his house basically begging to be kicked out. — In what world would he need an exhauster to cook rice?! — He knew what Chuuya was doing, so he just pressed his pillow over his ears and tried to ignore the nuisance. But at every bang of metal, or unnecessary loud slams of the cabinet door, he tensed up. The last drop was when Chuuya dared to put on some crappy metal song bursting into his ears.
“Do you mind?!” He yelled. “Someone here is trying to sleep!” He got a small chuckle in response.
“Yeah, sure you are.”
The noise just kept getting louder and louder until it stopped, and Dazai sighed in relief. He probably finally went away.
He ignored the weight he felt on his chest at that thought.
But then the weight started to feel real. Until it became hard to breathe. He sat up and tried to push Chuuya away.
“Are you a child? Seriously?” Dazai shifted uncomfortably under the weight. “Cause sitting on people is incredibly childish, I know you are small, but you don’t have to act up to your appearances.”
The guy had the audacity to just grab the remote controller and turn on the tv.
“You can’t be serious.” Dazai deadpanned.
“What? You seemed to be comfy here, so I joined.”
“And your food?”
“Waiting for us.”
“I’m not hungry.”
“Are you ever?”
They stared at each other for a moment.
“Slug.”
“Mackerel.”
“Hatrack.”
“Dead weight.”
“That’s the dream, don’t you think?”
Chuuya hummed and came closer.
“My dreams normally have you burning hot rather than going corpse cold.”
“Not very accurate dreams. Since my body temperature is always low.”
“Maybe I could change that.”
“I doubt it.”
“Is that a challenge?” Chuuya comes even closer. Their noses inches apart.
“Maybe.”
“Wonderful.” Chuuya stands up and brushes some non-existent dust off his clothes.
“What are you do-- ah!” Chuuya grabs his arms and pulls him out of bed and basically drags him to the kitchen. “Didn’t know you had this sort of kink…” Dazai says, looking around.
“You know what is often a cause of cold body temperature?” He asks, filling two plates of food. “Low iron.” He drops them in front of them at the table. “And you know how that usually is resolved? Eating.”
“You are so not fun.”
“Come on now, eat up.” He picks a glass of wine. “Maybe we can try your theory later too.”
Dazai humpfs and takes a bite. And then another. And another. Was he that hungry?
“How did you know I was here anyway?”
“I have a sixth sense for when I’m needed.” He ignores how Dazai scorns at that. “It makes me a really good executive at the mafia.”
The subject drops at that. And Chuuya is pleased. He doesn’t need nor want to explain to Dazai the thirty calls he got from the agency asking for help. And he certainly would like to avoid thinking about why they concluded he was the best one to call for this.
“Next time you don’t feel like getting out of bed, call me and we can lay low together.”

Out of the Reverse 1999 cast who would be a good driver? (Ignoring the fact that some of the cast probably dont know what a modern car is, lets just say some eventually learn to drive)
Like we know Tooth Fairy if given the wheel will run over people. We know Blonney can drive, should she teach Jessica I wonder?
How about characters like Vertin, Kakania, Windsong?
(I probably headcanon Schneider probably does know how to drive, being a mafia boss and all)
(I totally see Tennant riding a motorbike lol)
(Lucy would probably be like installing Siri or something into a car since she can be 'installed' into a new body)
Just thinking of a silly idea that Vertin is forced to drive a car to escape Manus or something, it would be funny to see.
Mmmmm, characters being good at drivinngggg
Let's see with the ones you mentioned.
And no, I don't think Blonney should teach Jessica to drive, at all. She's not bad but she gets distracted easily and that well... Thank God it was just Blonney's arcane skill and not a real car. Good enough to drive but gets overwhelmed or distracted easily, not recommended to drive.
Kakania? Mmm I can see her as a reliable driver. She's probably really good at driving once she learns and is properly trained. I can see her driving a really nice car she bought around town.
Isolde on the other hand...
She's not bad, technically, but the ghosts messing around are very dangerous. She could get distracted, possessed or something along those lines. Someone ends up damaged. And if she and Kakania haven't made up and she sees someone resembling Kakania she WILL stop the car in the middle of the route. She's a safety hazard.
Windsong probably doesn't drive because she's poor. She doesn't think she could own a car because of her lack of money and when she actually tries to drive she gets easily confused or overwhelmed. She's good with field work and studies but in a car she's putting both at use. it takes her some time but she's probably a good driver. Very, very nervous and follows every rule in order not to have an accident.
I think it's better if Vila drives.
Vila Is pretty good at driving, she has to anyway. She's basically a mother of the Rayashki kids after 1.8 and has to take them to places so eventually she has to learn how to drive. It's calming when she drives, she's very careful but not overly careful and she knows what to do. The kids can be relaxing, Windsong studying and she's driving!
As for Vertin. Girl HAS to learn. She takes care of a bunch of arcanists and has the custody of someone like Isolde, she has to learn something. She probably has a variant of the Tooth Fairy curse where she's always getting parking tickets instead of running over someone. But she's chill, she's ALWAYS in charge of the music, I'm sorry Regulus but your ass is NOT listening rock.
Speaking of Regulus, she's surprisingly a decent driver. She had a boat and a motorbike, she's pretty good at driving. She doesn't like cars tho, she only drives if absolutely necessary, she's more into motorbikes.
I actually can't see Tennant driving. Listen to me okay-
Tennant is definitely a player and technically poor since she's always trying to take your money. She probably never actually drove a car and had the women drive her around. She plays a lot on that con and low-key useless woman. She actually has Vertin drive and asks her for money every time they get a ticket, she's just like that.
If she took the time to learn, she'd probably be fond of those old (well, canonically they're new or close to new) cars and use it to seduce older women. Or if she's trying to play onto the "bad girl" vibe, a really cool motorbike.
Lucy? Lucy has Simone against her will. The first time Lucy tried to drive she had her cables connected to the car and become the car. It was a terrifying experience to hear Lucy from the radio of a car. Eventually Simone became her chauffeur because she's the only one willing to deal with Madam Lucy. It's just Lucy telling Simone where to go trying to keep her excitement while Simone is like "Yes, Madam Lucy. We can go to an amusement park." (She a silly)
Schneider probs had to learn. She's the youngest of like, 12, so she was taught how to drive and drove Mariam around a lot. She's a menace on the street but actually follows the rules, she wants to mess with her terrified sister but still be a reliable sister.
Bkornblume is probably a good driver too! She's probably more fond of bikes because they're silent but she can drive you a stolen car around.
Melania... No I don't think so from Melania. She's probably walking or driving a normal bike around to get where she has to be in silence. She takes rides with the others but she's a terrible driver, Ms. Acey recommended that she doesn't try to drive anymore.
Diggers Is a good driver and I don't know how to feel about that. He's okay ig. He still gets arrested every time he touches a car, another variant of the Tooth Fairy curse.
Kaalaa Baunaa Is a good driver! She learned a long time ago, probably from Kumar, but hasn't driven in a while. It's actually Kanjira the one who helps her drive again since Kanjira does know how to drive.
Shamane tho, my man rides a bear he can't drive at all. He's bad at it and has to own it.
Going to 1.4, Sophia is the most decent driver out of 6 and 37 (her father taught her some things, she just never actually tried), unfortunately since she's gone they have to fend for themselves. They never saw a car, only Sophia, so they both suck for different reasons. 37 can't concentrate, 6 gets too nervous.
I could add so many more but I feel like it'll be too long since, well, too many characters. But if you want more you can tell me!
Vertin having to drive her squad in a stolen car far away from the Manus only to get five tickets for speed even if she followed the law. She just can't catch a break.
#reverse 1999#I have remembered too little#there's a lot of thoughts in my head but I hope this is enough#there's too many characters 😭#i tried to out as many as i felt like it was enough#Isolde can't drive without someone nearly dying wheb she dissociates#Kakania is okay she's your average driver#Jessica is a safety hazard#Windsong is too nervous she be trembling#37 should never be allowed to drive#and Vertin has bad luck

If all else fails, write some letters.
emily rose
teen | wc: 1.1k | cw: mentions of grief
a/n: first drabble of 2024. sorry it took so long. hope you enjoy ♡ banner credits from airidescence
It’s been ten years and I still don’t know where to put all this grief.
Uncle Tommy suggested I see a shrink, so I told him to fuck off. I promised him I’d write these stupid letters instead. Journaling, mindfulness, yoga - all that does nothing for me. This shit better work. Anyways. Here’s a list of things you never got to see.
I stopped playing soccer after a broken ankle - it was gnarly. I remember crying in the hospital all night.
My grades got somewhat better. I graduated high school. Somehow became the youngest person in the city to make the Homicide Division. It’s shit work. The captain is a bit of an ass. Tommy met her at a few holiday parties and it did not go well.
By the way, Tommy misses you too. A few weeks ago, we looked through the attic and found a bunch of old photo albums and VHS tapes. We spent all day looking through them. There was a picture of us sitting on your old couch - the black leather one with all the cigarette butts in the cup holders.
My head hurts writing this. We still have nothing for you. No evidence, no lead. Not any fingerprints. The files don’t have anything. I’m pissed. There has to be something. It’s been ten years without you and all that I have left are some old photos and beat-up jackets.
You need justice. I need answers.
We miss you so much. I’m going to stop writing before I throw up.
Always surviving, Emily Rose 09/10/19
* * * *
I had a fluffernutter sandwich this morning and thought of you.
Don’t know why I love it so much. I probably have a dozen cavities. I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last letter - so much has happened.
I quit the NYPD, how shocking. I found so much - probably enough to fire every cop in my precinct - but HR turned on me. Dead rats in my lockers. Side eyes from everyone. So I left. I spent two weeks on my ass, bartending at the Drunk Tank until Tommy made me chat with an old friend of his. Mafalda. I think you knew her too. It’s better here, if not way more chaotic. We have a computer guy named Luke, he’s pretty awkward. A bit pretentious. Terrible cook, too. But he lost his mom around the same time I lost you. There’s a forensic analyst named Ruby who stops by. She’s sweet, always reminding me I can talk to her if I need to. We went out for drinks last night and I honestly can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard.
Also, I got rid of that stupid couch you loved. It was all ripped up and probably full of mold. Uncle Tommy and I spent a whole day looking for a new couch. I landed on this velvet green one with some fancy fringe at the bottom. Very bougie, I know.
You know, it’s annoying funny how people enter your life and insist on staying there. His name is Trystan Thorne and you’d love him. Uncle Tommy does, but I think it’s cause he buys him fancy donuts every morning. I wish you could meet him. I barged into his penthouse, beat his ass, and now we’re partners. Isn’t that weird? He’s infuriating, but it’s nice to have him around. Don’t tell him I said that. I told him some stories about you today and it felt so good to talk about everything.
Finally, some good news. We might have something for you. Some mafia leader named Big V. I told Tommy and Mafalda about her and they both think there’s a chance she did it. I hate that it’s taken so long to come up with just one possible lead. But I’d do anything to know what happened to you.
I’m sorry I didn’t talk to you more. I miss you so fucking much. Here’s to fifteen years without you.
Always surviving, Emily Rose 10/08/23
* * * *
It’s been only a few months since my last letter and so much has happened. Trystan was put on trial for a murder he didn’t commit. We had to fly half the team to Drakovia as a hail mary. Ended up playing a lawyer for a few minutes. it was weird.
I messed up so many times. Trystan and I fought over something we both knew the answer to. Sebastyan...Fuck. Vasili is dead. Every time I remember that look in his eye, I want to throw up.
Fuck.
It’s three am and Trystan is sleeping right next to me. He always listens to me talk about you. I keep imagining all the dinners and talks we could’ve had, just the three of us. You could’ve told him all your stupid jokes - like the one about eating a clock.
Tomorrow is my twenty-ninth birthday. Tommy told me he had something planned. I bet you ten bucks it’ll be a party at the Drunk Tank. I remember growing up, you guys would spend the entire night decorating the apartment with balloons. I hope Tommy isn’t doing that this year.
You’re here everywhere I go. I was doing laundry earlier and saw one of Tommy’s button-downs that used to be yours. It still smelled like you. I make coffee just the way you did - black. I have your small, round nose.
I hate that your life was taken from me. But I will find you at the end of mine. I love you, Dad. Come visit me sometime? Please.
Always living, Emily Rose 3/31/24
* * * * I’ve missed writing. I wrote this all in a day after I found the most devastating YouTube comment and just had to write something. Also, if you didn’t notice the start of the 2nd letter is a little reference to this fic. Anyway - there’s definitely more writing coming from me soon...Hope you enjoyed this angst xx

It always bugs me when people analyze a movie without considering the works that the movie is clearly drawing from - and people have a very bad habit of talking about movies only in the context of other movies. Sure, Goncharov draws from a bunch of earlier mafia movies (although some modern mafia movie tropes were pioneered in Goncharov, so don’t get your history twisted), and sure Goncharov makes some obvious nods to French absurdist films, and the influences of American Noir films can’t be ignored either. However, THE RUSSIAN LITERATURE REFERENCES ARE SO OBVIOUS!!!! How are we not talking about this connection? Early Russian literature is so surreal, because Russia essentially became literate in a single generation, and an entire literary culture came out of the ether, leading to much less tonal consistency than other literary schools, so these early novels were, to put it mildly, all over the place. (They also tended to always have proper nouns in the title, but that had to do with the weirdness of Russian copyright laws) Anyways, I’m not going to spell out the connections to this novel (since everyone should just read it themselves) but this is just a friendly reminder to not just think of films influences in other films.

hey author! really liking WSC. I was wondering how did you get into itzy? there doesn't seem to be a lot of midzy writers, we need more like you!
hi anon! glad you're enjoying wsc :)
tbh i got into itzy sort of by chance/randomly? bit of a long/weird story lol...
i've listened to kpop on and off for a long time but never really Got Into It in a stan way (when i was in college i definitely had (and still have) a ton of blackpink on my gym playlist, and i always really liked mamamoo, but i wasn't really paying attention to kpop culture at all or any content beyond the music itself). probably the closest i ever got was bigbang, and that was only because of my massive crush on taeyang :P
i'm in the last year of my phd program right now (if i'm able to finish my dissertation by the end of june, i'll defend and graduate in july! dr. link!!), and from what i saw in my time in grad school i knew the last year basically drove every phd student completely insane.
instead of trying to curb that insanity by becoming a mildly functional alcoholic or smoking too much weed i basically decided i'd funnel that insanity into FINALLY trying to understand kpop beyond casually listening to it, like understand the culture and the standom and the whole thing.
i knew i needed to pick a group to stan in order to do that, and i didn't want it to be blackpink even though i like them, since they release music so rarely (lol). so i was like ok you know what i haven't really listened to any kpop after 3rd gen. lemme see what 4th gen has to offer!
none of the 4th gen boy groups really caught my interest in a serious way (though i do really like some songs by stray kids and enhypen), so i turned to 4th gen gg. and like. holy shit 4th gen is literally the girl group golden age???
i was sort of listening around to some of the different 4th gen gg and really enjoying them, trying to find the right one for me, and then itzy's none of my business mv came up on my recommended on youtube, and i'd seen their name around. i clicked and...well. i was hooked.
i watched a bunch of the classic mvs (dalla dalla, wannabe, mafia), that one clip of lia singing can't take my eyes off of you, and like one compilation of OT5 being silly and chaotic. after that it was game over, i knew i'd found my group.
(and also i kinda love an underdog story; i think itzy's supposed "fall off" has been greatly exaggerated and with the overhaul of div 2 employees (...hopefully the marketing team) i am curious to see if they can recapture the 4th gen gg crown)
i wasn't at all expecting to write fic, tbh, especially not for a kpop group! i've actually never done it before, except maybe once when i was 13 and then immediately regretted it because i was bad at it lol. but in one of the most stressful years of my life, it became a really nice creative outlet for me, especially because i don't really have anyone irl to talk to when it comes to kpop and itzy.
in general, i've found midzys to be such a warm, welcoming group, at least here on tumblr and in the comment section on AO3 (i try to stay off twitter as much as possible).
and i didn't realize initially when i first stanned itzy, but turns out the whole jyp fam is really awesome! obviously the company has its issues, like any kpop company, but in general the jyp Vibes are really fun, and i've enjoyed listening more and learning about twice, skz, nmixx, etc.!
since my original goal (i guess?) was to understand the world of kpop, itzy ended up being the perfect group because, well. they have done almost every sub-genre of kpop at some point. they really can do it all! and as a group they've been on top, they've had their name raked through the mud, they've had a member on hiatus (...literally announced right after i decided to stan, RIP), been in a big transition period...
yeah man idk. it's been so interesting and fun to follow their journey, learn a lot about the kpop machine, do some really fun creative writing, give in to the insanity of being a stan, and listen to some really great music along the way. :)
anyway that's how we got here! sorry for the long-winded answer hahaha i guess i could've just said "last year of my phd program, went insane, instead of becoming addicted to drugs or alcohol i decided to become a kpop addict and my drug of choice is itzy" :P

This idea/question popped into my head last night and I think it might intrigued you too. Or at least it'll be fun to think about.
So we know that in the Slasher AU, Rena is dead and Ryan and Kingston are still running their L.V mafia. But what if they were a bunch of slashers? Whether they replace the weasels as the Slasher Villains or they are Las Vegas' group of killers? How much different do you think they and their relationships would be (not just with each other but other people, like Maya and Kingstons parents)? What kind of irl slashers would you compare them to?
If they are slashers alongside the weasels... Ohhh boy Shiny, Poppy, and Lottie are in for a shit show when they get on the road, I imagine.
SLASHER AU SLASHER AU SLASHER AU-
Okay so I saw this and had to get up, fill a hot water bottle and get comfy so I could respond. I'm ready now, here we go.
Slasher!Rena is Freddy down to a T. She's an orphan, she's a Huge Tease, she's terrifyingly cunning, and she'd absolutely come back for her daughter just to use her when she needs her. So Rena's basically herself, but with a taste for bloodshed. As opposed to King and Ryan, Rena probably always had a little bloodlust in her, from childhood; I can see her being bullied when she was little (she was a lanky, awkward thing who looked just like her brother- they called her a boy, boyish, masculine. Said she would never be pretty; that kinda thing. As well as 'poor' and 'orphan'. She and Ry still get adopted by King's parents in this au but that doesn't change the fact they aren't her real mum and dad, and children are cruel) and hating everyone around her (Except Ryan and King). She started hating guys, particularly, even more after she hit puberty and SUDDENLY!! everyone liked her.
As she grew up she became more and more the character we know- addicted to drama. Except its even worse, because... well, she's not satisfied with a little sex. Yes, thats great, but she starts to think that if she can kill... and then go to the funeral, too,... t h a t would be perfect. And of course, she targets kids she grew up with and their families. (And at this point, she's the most popular woman in the little australian farm town. She knows everyone, she's friends with everyone- So she has access, to everyone.)
After they move to Vegas, america's capital of bad mistakes, Rena really hits her perfect stride. Everyone there is her puppet.
(And *cough* I have this thought where, after Poppy/Shiny/and Lottie come to Vegas and meet the Roo's, and Lottie naively thinks she's finally found a parent who wants her (Rena's spinning it like Smartass took her and hid her from her mother- which we both know is nothing but lies), Rena digs into her daughter. She finds out everything that happened, convincing Lottie with gentle motherly touches and warm openness to tell her all her secrets. Then, for fun, Rena sells Lottie out to Greasy)
Slasher!Kingston is Chucky for sure XD Oh! And also Foxy and Stu!! Kingston still seems to think pretty clearly (Unlike, say, Otis or Baby. Or Tiffany. Or Billy.), he k n o w s the difference between right and wrong, he can explain ethics, but he just doesn't care ('wrong's the fun one'). Kingston basically started developing a bloodlust after Rena started killing. He was always pretty popular in school (AFL star) and in town; he was never bullied, but he's always up for trying something new! King's a bit of a thrill seeker (He drove before he had a licence way over the speed limit, he drank before it was legal, he smoked, he did drugs, he was up for really any dangerous stunt, etc), so when he stumbles upon his girlfriend with blood on her pretty face and his old football coach laying still on the ground, he's basically like... 'oh is this what we're doing now?? Well- shit- I'm down! Whadawe do with this??' *gesturing to the body of the man who kindly taught him football all through highschool* Who's next??'
And its not personal for him at all like it is with Rena, he'll kill anyone. Doesn't matter. He has very little in the way of empathy.
King just jumps on board immediately- following Rena's lead but quickly ~flourishing~ on his own. And, being a thrill seeker, he almost blows their cover so so many times! Rena gets so annoyed 😅 She has tied him to a chair with military grade knots through the night before on multiple occasions because they need to lay low now goddamnit!
As for his parents... he would absolutely kill them, no guilt no shame. He doesn't want to, he's not gonna go out of his way to do it (They're his mum and dad! He loves them, in his way), but if they found out about his extracurriculars and they started creating problems then he will shoot them in the heads.
Slasher!Ryan, true to his character, was never a really cruel person (Just complicit)... until Maya** was killed. So, I'd liken him to... maybe... Needy? From Jennifer's Body? After Jennifer and Chip were killed, she lost a l l semblance of being the 'good guy'. She went basically monotone, and just... pissed. And thats definitely Ryan (In the original universe too, but its definitely more violent in this one). Ryan definitely also has a mindless, wrathful Michael Myers thing about him.
He wants to destroy whoever did it, whoever took Maya away. But once its done... he still doesn't feel better. Ryan will never feel better. He's lost something very important inside him, he doesn't care anymore, and it will not ever go back to the way it was. He's like a mindless soldier for King and Rena to use as they will. (To their credit- they do try not to treat him that way though. Thats their brother, who's been with them no matter what since the start, and... they love him. He's their soft spot!! But sometimes they have to use him.)
Ryan goes into dissociative states where he will hurt anyone near him, and King has to hold him back (Which is a struggle- Ryan's stronger then any of them) while Rena forces a pill down his throat; covering his mouth until it goes down and he goes to sleep.
** Maya did not know about Kings and Rena's killings when she was alive. Ryan kept it from her, and though King made some odd jokes sometimes around her, and she might have had some suspicions... she never outright found out.

The Mafia Boss ~ Chapter five
Y/n's POV
Its been a week since Jay visited me at work. He's not returned since. Lia came back from her break and after getting a bit of girl advice, a self talk and long hard thinking, I decided to text Jay.
Y/n: Hey its Y/n. So about that catch up?
Jay: Hey, you've thought about coming over? Or are you texting me to say your done with us all?
Y/n: I want to come say hi, on one condition.
Jay: That is?
Y/n: Sunghoon's not around, I don't even want him in the house. I get all of you heading out at once would look strange so can you make a plan? I'll drive over now, be there in twenty.
Jay: Deal. See you then.
After getting Jay's reply, I put my phone in my pocket, slip on a jacket and grab my car keys. I sit in my car for a moment. I start the engine and begin driving. I don't need to try and remember, the route to the house a map in my mind. I did live there for nearly three years. As its late, there is a bit of traffic, people heading home, some heading out for a good time. The city never sleeps.
After twenty minutes of driving, I pull up at the familiar set of black, iron gates. The large, golden letter E shining bright. As I pull up, I go to press the buzzer but the gates open before I could. I drive up the long driveway and park outside the big mansion. I see a few cars and motorbikes parked up.
I get out my car, walking up the grand steps and knock on the door. A few minutes go by before the door opens and I see Niki, standing tall, dark locks falling over his eyes and just like Jay, dark ink littering his soft skin.
"N-N-Noona. C-C-Come in!" He calls, a surprised look on his face.
"Thanks, Niki. Didn't Jay tell you I was coming over?" I ask, stepping into the house.
Niki shuts the door and offers to take my jacket. I smile, letting him take it off. One thing I was always proud of is how much of a gentleman he and the others became.
"No, he told us boss had to head out for a meeting, but nothing else." He answers. I nod, happy Jay sent Sunghoon out. I'm not ready to see him.
As Niki and I walk into the living room, I hear the loud laughter I remember. We walk in and I see the others sitting around and when I see them like this, they just look like a bunch of happy young adults and teenagers. You forget for a moment they kill for a living.
"Hey you made it! Nice surprise isn't it, Niki?" Jay calls, hopping up from his seat, coming over to greet me in a hug. The others all look over in shock.
"Hi guys. Bea." I said, giving them a wave.
''Defiantly a surprise.'' Niki said, giving me a smile.
"Is this why Hoon's out?" Heeseung questions.
"Yeah, so if he comes back in a bad mood, send him my way." Jay answers.
They all nod. As I look at each of the guys, I see they have all grown taller, their cute baby faces slightly gone, all of them looking more mature and as the same as Jay and Niki, tattoos covering their skin. When I look at Beatrix I see she's also got a few more tattoos, plus her natural hair colour now dyed a lilac colour. One thing I notice is the guys look much darker, while Beatrix is still her bright self, most probably keeping the guys sane.
"So Noona, its lovely to see you, but how come you've visited now?" Jungwon asks as I take a seat.
"Jay came to where I work last week. Suggested I come visit. I agreed if Sunghoon wasn't here." I answer.
"You missed us?" Beatrix asks, smiling wide at me, the dimples on her cheeks showing.
"Honesty I did, Bea. All of you in this room I've missed." I answer, making them smile.
"Well, we have a good hour before Hoon comes home, lets have a catch up shall we?" Jake suggests.
I smile and nod, hoping Sunghoon doesn't find out. I won't know how to feel or react if I see him.

Dream Story: Saving Magical creatures
My mother and I were walking alone through a mall which had a bunch hallways with aquariums, filled with water plants but no fish. It all looked very new and had something a "liminal space" and the walls were a garish orange, ordained with vine plants at the ceiling.
While walking around, my mother and I both noticed small shadows with yellow eyes ducking through the plants and décor, watching curiously. Not many people walked by us, but those who did, didn't seem to even notice the small critters.
After a bit of walking, we sat down on a bench facing a giant tank, also without fish, a few meters to our right was a small set of stairs with more aquariums lining the sides of it. While we contemplated the strangeness of it all, I spotted something moving in a, dirty, algae infested tank.
I pointed it out to my mother and we carefully approached it. Once we were close enough, we saw another creature in it. It had a small body with light-green skin and dark-green side stripes, its' fins were reminiscent of plant matter. Its' claws looked sharp and the yellow eyes were frightening!
It was in a fetal position, cramped into the glass container.
"Is it even still alive?", I asked aloud, hovering over it. The creature tiredly reached to touch me, I slapped its' hand back into the murky water in a panic.
It didn't even have the energy to try again.
The more I looked at the creature, the more I noticed just how tired and weak it seemed. I turned to my mother- "We need to find a staff member." -And so we explained the situation to a young man in staff uniform what we found. He had no idea if there even was supposed to be such a creature in the tank, but said he would talk to his boss to double check, as he would lose his job, if it was meant to be there and perished.
But after the staff walked away, doubts took hold in my mind. What would happen to it, if the creature wasn't part of the mall? What would happen to it, if others found the creature, if the wrong people found it? What would happen if someone tried to make money off of the being's suffering?
Somehow, I managed to convinced my mother to help me get the poor creature out of the building. We were carrying it out the building through a backdoor in another container with clean water, when a group of people approached us, saying they could help it get away safely and nurse it back to health.
it turned out these people were part of a group that protected magical beings and creatures and I started to help out every now and then. This went on for years, well into my adulthood. I became a valued and a capable member of the organization.
One day, we get an anonymous tip about a local mafia boss wanting to sell magical beings as slaves and trophies. I walked through the halls, past the giant tank for the now-grown creature, named Algee that I helped save so many years ago and joined my team for the mission.
We agreed to do things by the book, staying out of sight, watching the scene and intervening as soon as the magical beings are not in immediate danger.
Our group tracked down the mafia meet-up to a gym and hid inside before the criminals came in.
I hid behind the door, a grave mistake, as it was shut as soon as the mafia boss stepped in with his bodyguards. I was no longer hidden.
Fortunately, I learned quite a lot in regards of self-defense and managed to take down three of the guards, while my group took care of the rest. The boss ran outside through the backdoor, armed with a firearm. A teammate of mine and I chased after before stopping. The boss got a teen boy as a hostage. He told us to leave his "business" alone or he would kill this child. Suddenly there's a loud, metallic *THUNK!* as another teen, the other's friend knocked out the criminal.
Once all of the captives were safe and the criminals were done struggling against their imminent arrest, I explained to the teens what this was about.
This is where the dream ended.

UHH CHAPTER 2 OF MY BSD FIC
ENJOY
The night after her hospital visit, Kanako sat at the counter of a bar she frequented. It had a warm and cozy atmosphere, and it was never too crowded, so Kanako could easily hear all of the conversations going on.
As she sipped her drink, she glanced to the side at a small group of men, who were all talking about something that she found rather interesting,
“Did you hear? Apparently, a bunch of people in Yokohama have been going missing lately.”
“Seriously? Like a serial abduction case?”
“Yeah…it’s pretty recent so we don’t know much about it.”
Kanako pulled out her phone and stared at the time as she sipped her drink, “Nine pm.” She noted as she pretended to not eavesdrop on the group of people.
“That’s pretty scary, I hope I don’t get abducted! I’ve got too much left to do with my life…”
“Yeah, no kidding. Have you been to that new restaurant? I’m dying to try it, and I do not wanna get murdered before I can do that.”
Once the conversation shifted, Kanako quit listening to them, as she became uninterested. The bartender made his round back to her and he held his hand out for her empty glass. Kanako slid it towards him,
“A refill, please.” She requested. The bartender nodded and went to make her drink. Kanako picked up her phone and sighed, no new notifications, no new jobs. Without Chuuya being there to entertain her with his usual nonsense, her life felt stale and uninteresting. The only thing she found herself doing was work, and when she was out of work to do, there was nothing.
Kanako began to think about the past few days, and how stressful they had been for the Port Mafia. They had been given an offer from a foreign organization that was just too valuable to pass up, and because of that, they were on constant lookout in search of a white tiger.
“People will do anything for money, won’t they? We’re wasting our time on this dumb tiger.”
Kanako looked up at the bartender as he slid the drink towards her. She nodded in thanks and lifted the glass to her lips, she took a sip and set it down, “It’s delicious, thank you.”
“Of course, ma’am.” He nodded and went back to his job. Kanako let out a groan as she leaned her head on the counter,
“I’m bored to death, and everyone else is busy.” She huffed as she pulled out her phone to check her contacts. Every one of them was offline, all except for one, “Wait, Chuuya’s in a different time zone…” She decided to shoot him a text message.
“Is it morning for you?”
Kanako turned off her phone and set it down to wait for a reply. She finished her drink and turned her attention back to the people who were talking about the abductions, but their conversation had shifted to sports, which Kanako couldn’t care less about.
A few minutes later, Kanako received a text back,
“Yeah it’s morning. Can you call?”
Kanako gasped a bit as he asked this, it wasn’t often that they could hear each other’s voices since he left six months ago, so she was quick to type a reply and leave the bar after paying, “I can.”
Kanako grabbed her bag from the counter and sprinted outside, she stood out on the streets looking up at the moon as she waited for him to call her. The moment her phone began to buzz, she answered it,
“Chuuya?”
“Been a while, Kana! I was starting to miss your voice.” He teased. Kanako chuckled a bit as she walked down the street,
“Ehehe…same…well, how are things going in…America?” She asked. Chuuya let out a long sigh before speaking,
“It’s…going. This place is crazy. I’ve been told that we had free speech, but I might’ve said ‘shit’ in front of a five year old and gotten scolded for it-“ He explained.
“…Huh??”
“She said that ‘a kid like me should know better than to swear around children’ and then complained to the staff at the restaurant.”
“P-Pfff- and what did they do?”
“Basically told her to leave them alone.”
“Hah-! That’s amazing, and what did you do?”
“…I just stood there. I didn’t feel like making a fool of myself.” He sighed as he began to type away on a keyboard of some sort.
“What are you doing now?” Kanako asked as she made her way to the Port Mafia.
“I’m just typing my report. I was sent here to put out fires but I got swept up in some other business, so what was gonna be almost a vacation just turned out to be a huge business trip…” He groaned a bit, “I just wanna go back to the mafia where everyone is. I miss sleeping in my own bed, everything here feels lonely.”
Kanako frowned a bit as he spoke, and she tried to think of what she could say to make him feel better, “Well, when you come back…I want to spend some time with you.”
“Aww, you do? I’m more than excited for that, Kana.” He said affectionately.
Kanako blushed a tiny bit, and she swallowed, “Yeah, me too.” She looked ahead, “I’m almost back to the Port Mafia…which, by the way, I heard about something strange going on lately.”
“Oh? Something strange?”
Kanako lowered her voice, and she stopped moving, “Mhm…apparently there’s a serial abduction case going on.”
“Serial abduction case?”
“Yes. People in Yokohama have been going missing somewhat frequently in the past couple of weeks. I haven’t heard much about it, but I have my suspicions of what could be going on.”
“I see…well, once again, please be careful.” He requested of her. Kanako nodded,
“Of course, I’ll be careful.” She began to walk again as she made it to a crosswalk that would lead her to her destination.
“Alright then. Well…I’ve got some work to do, so I’ll be busy. I’ll talk to you some other time?” He asked.
Kanako paused a bit, and a slight upset sigh could be heard escaping her lips. Chuuya picked up on this, of course,
“Kana? Do you…not wanna hang up?”
“Hm? N-No it’s fine. You can do your work, that’s more important…”
“…You sure?”
Her heart sped up as he asked again, and she debated whether she should tell the truth or let him go, which she ultimately decided on the latter, “…Yes, I’m sure. Do your work, then you can come home quicker.”
Chuuya chuckled a bit, “Alright then. I’ll see you later, Kana.” He said affectionately.
“Of course…you as well, Ch-Chuuya.” She hesitated a bit when saying his name, “Bye then.”
“Bye, Kana. Lo-…Bye.” Chuuya hung up quickly.
Kanako seemed a bit confused at his quick hang up, as well as the slip up he seemed to have caught before fully finishing his sentence.
When Kanako finally entered the building, she looked around at the warm lighting. It always welcomed her, no matter how far she had to go in order to get there. While she was examining the hall, she could hear the sound of clinking, followed by nonsensical rambling about something or other. She made her way to the hallway that it came from and looked down it,
“Kajii?”
“Hm? Oh, well if it isn’t Kana!” The man snicker as he approached her, carrying a large bag of lemon bombs. Kanako glanced at the bag,
“What are you gonna do with those…?” She questioned him suspiciously.
“Oh these? Just a little…experiment.” He laughed.
Kanako rolled her eyes and chuckled, “Of course, an experiment. Are you plotting something for the Agency?”
“Ooh, you were always one to spot things quite easily,” Kajii grinned, “But of course it is! That Weretiger—Atsushi was his name? He’s quite the interesting subject, you see! I mean, for an ability as simple as transforming into a tiger of all things, the Guild is fetching quite the hefty price for him!”
“Yeah, that is interesting I suppose. I wonder what the full scope of his abilities are…and why it’s so important to the Guild.” She crossed her arms and put her finger to her mouth, “Perhaps it’s the nature of his ability…? I mean, it’s not very often that an ability completely transforms someone's body, much less into an animal…some abilities can alter one’s body but not fully change it…”
“I like how you think, Kana.” The scientist chuckled, “The nature of his ability is indeed rather strange, I can’t think of anything like it. Perhaps that is what led to him having such a high bounty price.” He rubbed his chin with his thumb and finger, “But we won’t find out if we can’t catch and deliver him.”
“That’s true, so I guess we have to do what we can to capture him.” Kanako rubbed the side of her head,
“Correct! So now I must conduct a plan of action to get him to hand himself over!” He said excitedly, “You’re more than welcome to accompany me if you wish, Kana.” He said with a grin on his face.
Kanako took a second to realize she’d been asked to be with him, and when she did her desire to not be alone disappeared. The thought of being with someone now that she’d been asked to seemed unbearable, and she wasn’t sure why.
“…Kana? Why is your face doing that?” He asked as he pointed to her expression.
Kanako realized how scrunched up her face had gotten and she shook her head, “Oh? S-Sorry…I didn’t mean to make that face, I was just thinking.”
“I see, did you hear me though?”
“Y-Yes, and although I appreciate the offer, I’ll have to pass, sorry…” She sighed. Kajii nodded in understanding,
“Alright then. I’ll get to work on my experiment then, just remember that I’m always available~” He laughed a bit before walking off.
Kanako stared at him as he walked down the hall, and she felt a pain in her heart. It had been forever since she’d spent time with anyone since Chuuya left, it was hard to open up knowing that she didn’t have someone to run to if things went wrong.
She turned and walked to the elevator, she selected her floor and waited patiently to arrive. Once the door opened she walked down to her room with her bag still held closely, and she used her key to enter her room.
The moment she entered, she dropped her bag to the floor and immediately began undressing. She took a pack of cigarettes from her bag and entered the bathroom. She tossed her clothes onto the floor and stepped into the hot shower, which began to fill up the tub as she leaned back in it.
Kanako realized that she had forgotten her lighter, and she glared silently, she grabbed a razor and placed a light cut on her arm, then activated her ability to retrieve it from her bag and bring it to her.
Once she had the lighter, she lit the cigarette and leaned back further in the water as it dangled from her lips, the smoke rising gently from the burning tip.
She looked up at the ceiling and took a breath in, then pulled the cigarette from her lips and let it out, “…What more is there to do in a day, I wonder?”
She closed her eyes as she thought about the people that she was surrounded by, her family, her friends, her men.
“…Ah, yes. My men.”
She ran her fingers through her hair, “Work’s been stagnant for us all. We haven’t been to battle in a while, I wonder if my skills as a commander have gotten rusty.” She took another huff from the cigarette and let it out. The water grew closer and closer to the top of the tub, and she sat up to turn off the shower head. She leaned back again and simply soaked in the hot water for a while.
As Kanako slowly submerged herself, she began to hear a voice in the back of her mind, “…Can you really continue to command 100 men? Even 50 seems like too much for you. You’re overstepping, you should just give up.”
Kanako clenched her fist at this voice, and she gritted her teeth, “Shut up…”
“Why do you need an army anyway? You’re better off alone. You don’t need soldiers.”
“They are not soldiers…”
“Then what are they, hm? We both know that you would give them up in a heartbeat if it meant it would save your own skin.”
“What the hell makes you think I would do something like that…? I’m not heartless, I just…”
“You’re not heartless? You killed two people yesterday and you went drinking today because of how your job stresses you out. You didn’t even think about the people you killed, because you never do.”
“Just shut up…” Kanako sank further into the bath water.
“You know I’m right. I’m the real you, the one you want to bury. The one that you’re afraid of becoming, but you will.”
“Ugh, shut UP! You bitch, what do you know?!” She yelled to herself as she grabbed fistfuls of her hair and dropped the cigarette from her mouth. She looked down at the extinguished cigarette in the bathtub and she let out a groan before lifting it from the water and throwing it into the trash can.
“Great, now I’m surrounded with cigarette ash…” Kanako squeezed her hair again and glared at nothing.
“Everything around you should burn, Kanako. It all should turn to ash.”
“Dammit, for the love of god will you just-?!”
She then heard the door to her room open, and she listened closely as someone entered, “Kanako? Are you here?”
“Huh? Oh, um…” Kanako slowly sat up from the water and turned towards the bathroom door, “I’m in the bath, Mom.” She called.
“Of course you are.” Her mother, Risako, came closer to the door, “Your sister is busy and needs you to watch Koko for her! She’s asleep right now, can I just leave her in your bed for a bit?”
Kanako blinked a few times, trying to process what was being said.
Kanako’s niece, who actually shared a name with her, was the daughter of Kanako’s sister, Mai. The girl was hyperactive and nothing like her mother, at least not as of lately.
She thought for a moment, “Um…I’m not sure, can’t you watch her, Mom?”
“Oh, I would, but I have to patrol…”
“What about Taiyou? You know, Koko’s dad?”
“Oh him? Like hell I’d leave my grandchild with a man like him.” Risako walked somewhere else in the room, as Kanako heard her voice get a bit quieter, but it soon came back to its normal volume, “You know how I feel about him.”
“Right, right…” Kanako sighed, “Your thoughts of him are confusing to me.”
Risako groaned, “I’m not stupid, Kanako. You have to trust me when I say that…”
As she continued to speak, Kanako noticed that she was beginning to zone out, and she shook her head, “Wait, what was that?”
“Do I need to come in?” Risako asked.
Kanako hesitated for a moment, then slowly pulled the shower curtain in front of herself, “Yeah, come in.” The door opened and her mother stepped in, a tall and rather fit woman with light purple hair that was both tied in a bun and hung halfway down her back, as well as green—almost pink—eyes.
“I was saying that he can’t be trusted, no matter what.” She finished.
“But you won’t believe her, will you? Even though you know she’s right.”
Kanako grunted slightly at this voice, and she tried to cast it out without making a scene in front of her mother, “Mom, please, can you just stop complaining about Taiyou and find someone else to watch Koko? I’m exhausted and slightly buzzed, I can’t handle her if she acts up…”
“You’re buzzed? How much did you drink at the bar, Kanako?”
“Mom, it’s not that big of a deal…”
“Tell me!”
“Ugh…” Kanako rolled her eyes, “I had like, six drinks, and they were pretty heavy, but I swear I’m not that drunk!”
“Kanako!”
“Mom!” She sighed, “I’m just…tired from all this heat, it’s hard to function…”
“Then what are you doing?! Get out of the tub, you’re gonna pass out from heat exhaustion! Did you even turn the cold knob?” Risako approached the bathtub and grabbed the edge of the curtain,
“Wait, don't do that-!!” Kanako yelped as she accidentally activated her ability and cut her mom’s hand, “Huh? Oh my god, wait, I’m so sorry-!”
“Ow! Be more careful, Kanako!” Risako sighed as she pulled her hand back quickly and examined the cut, “It’s not too deep, don’t be too upset, Kanako…”
“I…I didn’t mean to hurt you, Mom, I just…”
“It’s okay, I shouldn’t have tried to open the curtain, I know how you feel about being seen.” Risako stepped backward, “I will find someone else to watch Koko, just try to take it easy, okay? Your men are worried for you, they haven’t seen their commander without eyebags for almost a few weeks now.” She stepped out of the bathroom.
Kanako sighed at the mention of her men, and she leaned her head on the palm of her hand, “Right, right, I’ll visit them…they all stay in the same place anyway.” She yawned and looked down at the bathroom floor, which was beginning to get wet.
Kanako closed her eyes as she leaned her head on the walls of the tub, her wet hair almost touching the floor.
“So you’re just gonna sleep it off? You’re gonna act as if you didn’t just hurt your mother?”
Kanako didn’t have the energy to respond, she simply stayed in the same position.
“Fine. Ignore me. Ignore who you really are.”
Kanako stood up from the tub, turned off the shower, and unplugged the drain. She stepped out into the room and grabbed her towel, she then glared at the mirror.
“Look at yourself. So hopeless-“
“SHUT UP!!!” Kanako screamed as she slammed her fist into the mirror, shattering it. Blood from her cuts dripped onto the cracked and broken glass, her face wasn’t recognizable in the state that the mirror was in.
When Kanako pulled her fist back, she turned on the sink, rinsed it off, and simply left the bathroom without cleaning the mess.
“…Broke another mirror, hm?”
“Why are you doing this to me…?” Kanako asked herself as she stood in her bedroom, “Why are you so hell-bent on making me suffer?!”
The voice went silent, and Kanako never got a response. She clenched her fist and yelled again, “Oh, so you’re quiet now?! Now you’re keeping your mouth shut? When I want an answer?!?” She let out a shaky breath as she dropped the towel to the ground and went to her closet, where she grabbed an outfit and put it on.
“Dammit, what the hell is wrong with me…?” She asked herself as she put on her underwear, “This voice in my head, it won’t go away…” She put on her button-up shirt and her shorts, “Unless I want it to tell me something…” Kanako put on her vest and swung her jacket over her shoulders, not bothering to put her arms through the sleeves before adjusting her shirt collar and grabbing her hat.
Kanako groaned to herself before grabbing a spare sheet and throwing it over her bathroom mirror, the sight of her reflection in the cracked glass making her head her. As she turned to leave the bathroom, her eyes caught the sight of another mirror, which she covered up with a nearby blanket. She let out a shaky breath and turned around to leave the room, grabbing her phone from the small table next to her door. Kanako locked the door behind her and made her way down the hall with her phone clenched in her hand.
“Covering things up? But you can’t even do that for yourself around all of those men, how dirty.”
Kanako nearly yelled out loud in the hallway as she held her phone to her chest and clenched her teeth, “S-stop it…! Why are you only back when I don’t want you to be-?” She said with a shaky voice. She stood there with her hands close to her body, keeping herself small and defended like a rat.
She took a deep breath and walked towards the elevator, where she selected the button for the lowest floor, where all the people she commanded stayed. The way the building was organized made things much easier. Lower ranking members remained on the bottom floors, the main offices and miscellaneous rooms such as the gym and weapons rooms were on the main floor, higher ranking members such as Kanako were on the fifth floor, and the top floor belonged to executives, as well as Ougai Mori himself. The floors between the main ones were used for more general offices.
The elevator wait took a little while, but she eventually made it to the bottom floor, where the smell of alcohol was rather strong compared to what she was used to. Other than that, the place was well-kept and organized. Each person got a room to themselves and the main room was always clean, despite everyone usually hanging out in it.
When Kanako looked around, the place was surprisingly empty, and she felt a song of fear in the back of her mind,
“Ooh, did they leave you? It’s been so long I wouldn’t be surprised, you’re so unreliable~”
Kanako deeply breathed, “She doesn’t deserve my attention…” She spoke to herself. But Kanako didn’t realize just how much attention she was giving this voice until an arm came around her shoulder from behind, “What?!” She gasped and turned around, grabbing the person’s arm and swinging them over her shoulder. She let out an exerted huff of air as she realized how heavy this person was, and the feeling of their skin beneath her fingers, that familiar texture that was lined with scars. She turned around and looked down at the person who approached her,
“Damn, Kana! Wasn’t expecting that from you!” A large man with dark skin and a wide smile said with a hearty chuckle.
Kanako blinked a few times, “Kai?! I thought I told you not to sneak up on me like that, you scared the shit out of me!” Kanako said with an exasperated sigh, “I thought I was getting kidnapped…”
“Is that a common concern for you…?” Kai sat up and rubbed his back. Kanako simply shrugged and grabbed his hand,
“Maybe, maybe not. I might just be paranoid…hyup-!” She pulled him up and ran her fingers through her hair, keeping her hand there for a bit as she looked up at the man, who was at least six feet tall, an entire foot taller than Kanako herself, “Where’d everyone else go? Don’t tell me that after three years they all bailed…” She frowned as she sat on the bench in the room, Kai sat next to her,
“Oh hell no, Kana! We’re your guys, you can count on us for everything. It’s just that things have been pretty stale lately, we’re waiting for things to spice up, y’know? They’ve all been hanging around in their rooms.”
Kanako let out a sigh of relief, “Oh, phew…that’s good. I was worried.”
Kai patted her back, “Hey, don’t worry too much little lady. You’re a strong commander, everyone here knows they’ve gotta stick with you,” He grinned, “Or else.”
Kanako rolled her eyes and swatted at him, “I’m not trying to scare them into submission, Kai. I also didn’t ask for any of them to dedicate their lives to me, but here we are.”
The man ran a hand over his mostly shaved head as he chuckled, “Yeah, yeah. I mostly did it. But c’mon, can you really blame me?”
She sighed and shrugged, “I’m…not sure.”
Kai looked down at her with a frown, “Kana, what’s wrong? You’ve been acting all gloom and doom lately. You’re killing the vibe here, y’know?” He raised an eyebrow.
Kanako just shook her head, but didn’t say anything.
Kai debated whether or not he’d say something, but as he was about to open his mouth one of the doors down the hall opened. A pale man of medium height stepped out, he had a cigarette hanging from his mouth, and a mess of brown hair sat atop his head.
“Oh hey, it seems like the lady’s back.” He said with a grin. Kai glared at him a bit,
“Listen, Mao. Now ain’t the time for your flirty bullshit, so pack your bags and get a move on.” He said demandingly.
Kanako looked up at Mao, “…Oh, hey there.” Kai gripped Kanako’s shoulder with a warning, but she just ignored it, “What are you doing?” She asked Mao,
“Just checkin’ things out, y’know. You’re looking pretty good, hon. Did you just get out of the shower?”
Kai growled, “Mao.”
“What? I’m just tryna make her feel better, that a problem?”
Kai tightened his grip on Kanako’s shoulder as he felt her shiver with discomfort, “It is a problem when she’s clearly not a fan. Now what did I say? I’m her right hand man, and if you don’t get your ass gone I’ll beat you over the head with the nearest chair I can get my hands on. Understood?”
Mao glared at Kai and spat at his feet, “Fine then. Be that way.” He turned around and held his thumb and pinky up to his ear with a wink, “Call me if you need me, Kana.”
“Hey, you can’t call her that.” Kai snapped.
“K-Kai, it’s fine, just be glad he’s leaving…” She pushed his hand off her shoulder and sighed, “Did he even listen when we brought him in? I’m off limits to everyone in the squad…”
“That dumbass probably thinks he can still get in your pants cause he’s so ‘charismatic’…gimme a break.” Kai folded his arms and rolled his eyes.
“And you won’t let him in? How lame, you could use someone to loosen you up a bit~” The voice spoke with a taunting tone. Kanako clenched her teeth in order to keep herself from yelling out loud, but Kai noticed her tense body,
“Oh shit, right, spit’s on the floor.” He said as he saw the liquid at his feet. “I’ll get that cleaned up, you relax.” He patted her shoulder before getting up and grabbing a mop.
The truth was though, Kanako hadn’t even noticed the spit yet, and now that it had been pointed out her skin began to crawl. “O-Oh, yeah, please clean that up…” She scooted away from the spit.
Kai began to clean up the mess, eventually deciding to just mop the entirety of the already clean floor all over again. Kanako clenched her hands close to her body, her palms began to calm up as her heart raced. Her eyes landed on a plant that had been slightly shifted from where it should be, and the voice in her head grew louder,
“Go ahead. Cry. Lose your mind over something stupid that nobody cares about. You’re alone, aren’t you? You don’t have that boyfriend of yours to run to-“
“Sh-Shut up…!” Kanako clenched her fists and teeth.
Kai glanced back at her, “Kana, you wanna go back up to your room? You’re looking pretty stressed, and it’s getting late. You should head back.” He suggested. Kanako let out a shaky sigh,
“…R-Right, right. I’ll… I’ll go back, sorry if I stressed you out…” She told him as she stood up. Kai glanced back at her,
“Nah, you’re good. Just remember I’m here for you, alright?”
Kanako stood in the doorway for a bit before speaking up, “Of course, thank you…”
Kai nodded, then coughed a bit.
“And Kai? I’m…here for you too. As much as I can be.”
He cleared his throat, then nodded and smiled, “Yeah, of course, Kana.”
Kanako looked back at him, smiled a bit, then turned around and walked into the elevator.
Hope you enjoyed chat

I've been thinking about Old Boss, Dazai and Mori a LOT, as of late; and I think it would be neat if Old Boss' madness made Dazai so miserable, and that he too thought the only way to stop it all was to kill him. Except this thought made him feel trapped and even more miserable, so much that he tried to drown himself. But he got lucky: he met Mori. A person who can do the job meets a person who can provide the enterance and the cover, isn't it grand? (1)
Hey, sorry it took me a little bit to get to this. I was in the middle of exams and I wanted to make sure I gave your ask a proper answer.
You know, it's really interesting to me - you've outlined this version of events, which is different to what I think went down but I can't really refute or support anything because we just don't know enough.
It's insane how little we know about the mafia in general, actually, given how many of the supporting cast members are a part of it. We get mentions, sure, and little tidbits of info but not nearly as much as we get for the agency. I wonder why it was so important that the mafia be a part of Natsume's framework over any of the other criminal organizations in Yokohama. Is it influence? Power? Or is there some other reason we don't know?
I'll try to lay down what we know for certain, and particular inferences we can make leading up to the old boss's assassination:
The Old Boss:
He was the boss during the chaotic years directly after the war and likely during it as well
He threw the city into turmoil, especially in the slums, through such orders as "killing a bunch of redheads because one vandalized his car" or "poisoning the inhabitants of an entire building because he thought a rival executive might be there"
The end of his reign was so terrible that he turned the city's inhabitants against each other in a kind of Orwellian dystopic "report your neighbours for dissent" command
He has history with Dazai ("If only we could chat about old times" line from Fifteen)
He was suffering from a kind of paranoia from his illness and his orders became increasingly more erratic and needlessly violent, culminating in his ordering of the deaths of anyone who opposed the Port Mafia on his deathbed (roughly 8 years ago)
Mori:
He was a medical doctor during the tail end of the Great War, roughly 14-15 years before the events of the main story (when Yosano was 11 years old and he was 26)
He drafted her with the intention of creating an Immortal Regiment and appears to have advocated for the use and manipulation of abilities to turn the tide of the war
After the war, between 12-14 years ago, he worked as an underground doctor with Fukuzawa as his bodyguard - he was already acquainted with Natsume at this point (they both refer to him as sensei) and interested in establishing Natsume's Tripartite Tactic
How he came to be an underground doctor is not known - was he disgraced after what happened with the soldiers on Tokoyami Island? Was he purposely trying to work his way into the mafia?
12 years ago, he fought with Fukuzawa to try and take Yosano back for his plan to overthrow the Mafia (he was 28, Yosano 13, Fukuzawa 33, Ranpo 15)
Somehow he became the old boss's personal physician. I literally do not know how he managed this.
8 years ago, he approached Dazai, as seen in the recent Fifteen manga adaptation, as his physician, and promised Dazai a painless death if he agreed to "help with one little thing" (which is clearly to be a witness for the death of the old boss)
Dazai:
He wandered for a bit at some indiscriminate time, where the Sheep made an offer to join them. He refused.
His youngest appearance is 8 years ago when he is 14, in the recent Fifteen manga adaptation, where he is shown secured to a hospital bed after attempting suicide - it seems likely this was not his first attempt. He meets Mori for the first time in this scene.
He somehow is close enough to the old boss to be a valuable witness for Mori, someone whose word would be believed by the mafia. He was already suicidal for unknown reasons and was assigned the current mafia boss' personal physician to treat him. Hirotsu assures Mori that Dazai "understands why he did what he did", as though Dazai would have some reason to be angry with Mori over the old boss's death. Higuchi's "your blood is mafia black" line. If it weren't for the fact that he was not part of the mafia at that point, and had apparently not seen death up close before the murder of the old boss and the events of Fifteen, I would say it's practically a given that he's a blood relative of the old boss, perhaps even the "rightful heir" to the mafia. However, given the conflicting info I just gave, I really can't be certain.
His eye is focused on in all adaptations of the scene with the death of the old boss. His eye goes dark in every single one. (The original chapter 30 manga panel is interesting because it looks like the darkness is seeping into it...)
There's so little here for how important this event is. Just as we still don't know much about the great war, we still know very little about the mafia and the old boss - even Mori and Dazai are still very much mysteries.
With how much we still don't know, I think the story may end with us cycling back to the mafia and finally learning the answers to all these questions that were introduced so early in the game. At least I hope so. Thanks for the ask!
#ok this was long and i had to fact check a lot so if i've messed up somehow please as always let me know!#i think this is all we have outside of pure speculation but feel free to add on if i've missed anything#i have my own thoughts on this matter but again there's no way to be certain given how little there is to work with#hope you enjoyed this anon!#bsd#bsd old boss#bsd mori#bsd dazai#bsd meta#storyrambles

b4 i read jojo i thought it was abt two mafia gangs fighting each other, i had only like seen clips of young joseph and jotaro and even tho i was confused abt their completely different personalities i thought they were the same person, thought suzie and erina where the same person too and thought they were like jojo's only love interest because he (jotaro) seemed to get really pissed off at girls, i was confused by like how formal everyone was in the "kono dio da" clip for like modern day standards but i didnt think much of it, i thought dio was like the rival gang leader and they had to kill him for some reason, and also they had magic powers for some reason... i did correctly know old joseph was jotaro's grandpa but i thought he was like the old gang leader and like og jojo that we only get flashbacks abt his career a gang member, anyway when they kill dio i thought Girono became their new rival and took over the gang because he was dio's son, and i thought he was like the cool edgey bad guy who semi sympathizes with the heros and that jojo fans loved him for that reason and thus used his theme in memes
oh i also thought josuke and jotaro and joseph were the same person
i was confused on if it took place in japan or Italy...
that was like my thoughts on it when i was like idk 14-15 and then i saw and heard enough abt it to know it was probably something different and also kinda just forgot abt the whole thing i assumed it was, either way i knew it was instead some kinda story abt a family who had a bunch of jojo's decended from one jojo who fough vampires in the Victorian era
idk i just cant keep this all in my head i needed to vent, i may like add more stuff later if i remember smth this is gonna be the "what i thought jojo was" masterpost ig??? idfk i just woke up

The Adventure in Jujutsu High
Warning: Mahito (it sums up almost everything), crackfic
Words:
AN: I hate Mahito, and I use every possible way to show my hate to him. Manga readers can vouch for that hate.
Pick Me
In this school, every student has different opinions on everything. Be it be the fact that their hate for Todo who did nothing -literally, or their hate for their ex-principal, or their opinion about having baseball as an event for the annual sports day, it is always different.
But one thing they all can be together on is their opinion about a certain student; Mahito. Nobody knows where or how this one became a student. A person who has stitches all over his body, and the ones who drop off him at school and pick him back look more or less like people who run the mafia. (One guy with ash brown hair, who smokes like a burning volcano, and another one with roses, dragon, and some other random things tatted on his skin.)
Were they wary of him? No. It is just that they all hate the moment this one opens its mouth, which mostly is for spouting nonsense or catcalling literally anyone. The situation which made them hate him, even more, is when their beloved teacher Yn was teaching and he decided to whistle like he doesn't care. Nobara swears she nearly threw her textbook -which is one thick book of all Shakespearean works- at that blue head, and he would have surely popped a few stitches. And yes that is true too, had it not been for Yuuji that day, Mahito would've seen the doors of hell that moment.
As things like this happened that day, Nobara was sure to make sure everyone in the school know about that rancid person and her pent-up anger against him. By the time lunch break was done, Megumi has to drive away a lot of students from other classes who came to see Mahito. Was Mahito bothered by that? No, he was three seconds away from doing a strip show if it wasn't for that one teacher with beige tux; that's what he told. It is a fact that the only person this Mahito guy was scared of was Nanami.
It was a shame for him that he decided to befriend the most badass-looking teacher just to show others that he has even more ground than others. Who was this teacher, you ask. None other than Ryomen Sukuna. Who according to the Zen'ins is the King of Curses. Because there is no time in this universe without this one teacher screaming all the curse words. A second it is fuck, the next it is shit; to the point, they thought he was banging his random side chick in the Physical Education classroom.
That aside, Mahito tried every possible trick in his sleeves to make Sukuna like him. There is a rumor going around that Mahito secretly wants to bang Sukuna. The next one was that Mahito was the one who brought hash brownies to the school on Valentine's day, which Gojo Satoru ate and got high. It was all baseless, yet believable. This takes us to today, Mahito standing in front of the PE room with a box (which Miwa guarantees is a box of condoms, because he bought that same thing from the store she does part-time for).
What we should see here are the bunch of students (Yuuji, Nobara, and Miwa) are standing -more like in a disguise to observe Mahito- behind the wall, eyes keenly on Mahito. Mahito knocks on the door, from which Sukuna appears. Now, Yuuji is fretting like a lost puppy. He sees Mahito offer Sukuna the box, and they three have different conclusions. Because all the saw was Sukuna walking back into his room, and Mahito doing his little victory dance- wiggled his non-existent butt.
"I'm sure that box is drugs," Nobara says.
"I am telling you guys for the hundredth time, no I saw that butthole buy a box of condoms yesterday, and that is the box." Tells Miwa.
"Guys, that could also be a box of chocolate," Yuuji tells, eyes fixed on the door, which Mahito walks in.
"Yuuji you are too pure to exist," Nobara pats his pink hair.
Yuuji gave a small pout, and without thinking twice, he walks towards the room. Now it is Miwa and Nobara who are fretting. Because of Yuuji, their undercover works might see the light, right now.
"What-" Yuuji's words stop in the mid as he sees what was happening in the room. Mahito's shirtless back was all Yuuji could see. There were a few stitches and tattooed stitches on his body, with Sukuna hugging him.
"S'kuna what are ya doing?" Yuuji screamed. That was the day Sukuna saw red.
"OMG!" Nobara and Miwa were also doing a few loud fan chants. Even though nobody shipped them, was this ship somehow sailing?
Sukuna was quicker than a lightning bolt to react to his astounded students. "Kids, it is not what you think."
"Then what is this?" Yuuji's voice was two tones higher than usual when he screamed at his half-brother. "It clearly looks like you are having fun, trying to kiss that nasty ass". Yuuji's pink hair looked red than usual like his anger seeped through his hair. "I swear that guy does not even clean his ass after pooping, why are you with him of all creatures?"
"It was pure self-defense. He tried to attack me from behind." Sukuna tried to justify.
"Then why is he half naked?" Yuuji yelled back.
"He told me a few stitches popped and to check it out."
"And I can clearly see you checking him out." Yuuji retorts back.
"Yuuji, I know you are angry about me burning your lunch, but think about my side too." Sukuna justifies. "I turned back to get the flashlight, and he suddenly pounced on me from behind. That is what happened."
"You tried to put him in a chokehold?" Miwa asks.
"And he clearly enjoying being choked by Sukuna," Nobara tells.
"Ryo, can you do me a favor?" This was another voice that wasn't heard till then there.
"Yes, darling", Sukuna, as if on cue responds. Just to realize his mistake a few seconds later, he pushes Mahito against his body.
"Ryo?" "Darling?" The students were screaming in surprise, only to be even more surprised seeing the owner of the voice. None other than their beloved teacher, YN.
"You guys are dating?" Mahito asks.
"Oh sheet, Mahito you were trying to ruin their relationship?" Nobara did throw her textbook at his head finally, knocking him out; but not entirely.
"Oh hey, kids!" YN wished back at the surprised-looking students. "Cover my last hour with their class, I have a meeting," Yn tells Sukuna.
Sukuna nodded his response, and YN turns to her beloved students, "Kids back to class, lunch break is about to end."
"Don't you think we'll start the rumor of you guys dating?" Yuuji asks YN.
"Of who? Me and him? Oh cut it out Yuuji, we've been through this before. I am not dating your brother but giving him dating advice to bag one person he is trying to see." YN tells. "And no Nobara, that is not me. I have a certain someone else in my life at the moment."
What left the kids surprised wasn't that Sukuna had his eye on someone, but there is a specific ring on YNs finger that caught their attention.
And that is for today's episode of Jujutsu High. In the next episode, we'll see how the student unveils the darker secrets of their teacher.
Shoko and YN chatting over a coffee:
Shoko: Oh he finally had the guts to ask you out?
YN: Yeah with a ring pop.

So! I'm taking it upon myself to summarize everything that happened to me before Watts showed up.
There's likely a lot of history that I am missing, likely with Gavamont, Ratazom, and Evilwizard, but this is just what I know. Forgive me if I mess up any details.
Before I joined the Council
When I first showed up, I got into a ruckus with the Council. Basically, they were (and still are) enforcing their laws and shit on a place where the gods had repeatedly told them to fuck off. That place is my home dimension.
This incident was specifically about taxes. I got into an—honestly very unfair, given that it took place in my home dimension and practically everyone there wanted the Council to fuck off—court case against the Council's only tax wizard at the time, @greywizard-reporter-jim.
The Council lost, and the god of justice (who really should take it's job more seriously, but I digress) teleported an adult thermonuclear moth into the City of Towers.
Unfortunately, I was stupid and told the Council that the moth was close to detonation and they promptly handled it.
I got Jim fired (sorry bout that) and started hanging out with him. Pretty cool guy, not gonna lie.
We did various things to fuck with the Council, including causing havoc at the... uhhh... I think it's called the Vault of Relics? Something like that. Anyways, all you need to know is that it's where the Council keeps their super powerful magic items. Side note, that was my first test of my Mithril Hydra!
Anyhow, while the bureaucratic fucks were distracted, Jim stole a bunch of documents from their archive.
We kept trying to fuck them over until I realized that I couldn't just defeat them. That's when I made my deal to join them to try to make change via policy rather than force.
Also, pretty soon after Jim started doing crime, his ex, @battlemageserioth, came after him. The story of how they got together is long and complicated, but basically Jim seduced Serioth to get a position on the Council. They were actually kind of in love but they were both complete messes at the time so it didn't really work out.
Working for the Council
I quickly became better acquainted with Serioth, and had a... friendly rivalry, I guess, with him. Basically, he was very devoted to the Council and didn't understand that it was pretty shitty.
He was tracking down Jim, but Jim learned how to combine tax magic an necromancy. Those skeleton mafia debt collectors are quite formidable.
Around this time, @djitch wanted to be a cook for the Council. I put in a good word with her, and she's currently working at a restaurant in the City of Towers that I cannot remember the name of.
Next big event!
The age of gretchen (aka everyone panics about a monster that ended up as a friendly eldrich horror)
Okay. So. @gr3tchn. You might know her from fucking with M.M. recently. She is basically the concept of hunger given physical form.
When she first appeared, I was one of the first people to respond. Uh, actually, before that, some context.
On Raazaa, attacks by monsters are very common. The big ones are by far the most dangerous. Well, except for the mermites. Those things will fuck you up. Anyhow, as a consequence of the preferred method of deterring giant monsters, my first response to seeing one is generally "hit it until it goes away."
I blasted a giant hole in Gretchen (sorry bout that) and she just turned into another mouth. By the by, she could barely talk at the time. The blast also sent a bunch of chunks flying everywhere.
Let's make this quick. Various pieces of Gretchen messed up a lot of stuff and met a lotta people. For example, @effervescent-and-frothy used to be a wizard but is currently Gretchen's... daughter?
@feyosha figured out that Gretchen changes based on context. For example, the bit that mothered Effer became very motherly, the one that visited @wizard-council-librarian became very studious, you get the gist.
By this point, Gretchen was fully sentient and I was just being stupid and rude by trying to fight her.
FeyOSHA "defeated" her by having sex with the giant eldritch horror. Not my kind of thing, but I don't judge.
...
Let's see... the next big event was...
Oh. That motherfucker.
Werill.
Serioth started having weird memory lapses. Nobody knew what was up until he wrote down that it was some sort of bug. He also was suspecting something up with Werill and a certain spot in the Board's chambers.
First, some background on Werill. He's a power-hungry shithead who was on the Board of Archmages, proposed a bunch of greedy bullshit, you get the gist.
Serioth went down a secret passage in the Board's chambers and found a massive underground... cathedral? I don't know. Anyways, Werill was in there, along with a LOT of memetovores. For those who don't know, a memetovore is a weird bug that eats memories.
Werill monolouged for a while before he sicced the little fuckers on Serioth and my guy barely escaped.
I heard all the commotion and went down to investigate. Werill was kinda kicking my ass too but I summoned my mithril hydra and that pretty effectively squashed the memory-eating bastards.
I managed to capture Werill, but I couldn't hope to kill all of the bugs and they had access to the underground portal room so they quickly fucked off to a buncha parts of this multiverse.
Now, cut to Serioth real quick. He and Jim are (I think, I could be wrong) still yearning for each other and Serioth's nearly memoryless subconscious lead him to Jim's old tower.
Something you need to understand is that Serioth was a revenant, clinging onto life via his duty to the Council. Now that the Council has betrayed him, he's fading away.
Anyhow, Jim turned him into a lich so that Serioth could live.
As for Werill, he's got a fucking false hydra in the ruins of the Council portal room, and we need to deal with soon.
