I can feel your pain on a spiritual level, bc in the time I was supposed to dedicate to answering inbox messages, I came up with two separate steampunk aus (THERE WAS ONLY SUPPOSED TO BE ONE </3) and a sci-fi space au — all of which are edgejeanist/ectoloader lmao :')

anyway , I think I've made this comic lighter towards the end of this comic (both on purpose with the backgrounds and story lol) but this ending I hope is a combination of bittersweet and hopeful. Y/n gets to have a new family and connection to humanity that I think would be beneficial. 

How they’d take finding out Y/n is a VAMPIRE is it’s own can of worms that you can decide for yourself how would go down. Best outcome is that Y/n continues to watch over the generations influenced by Vanessa and her family during their immortality. 

Gregory and Cassie still haven’t been introduced in the Naff’s Cryptid Sightings universe by the time I post this, so if/when they are their characterization most likely will be different. And ggy likely won’t be placed in the au. Which is completely understandable! Tho an alternative path following canon fnaf more with 3 star fam, ggy n such is a concept I LOVE in the Cryptid Sightings world! I’ll go into it more ltr

Greg and Cass already have cryptid parents but now they get Uncle Eclipse and Uncle/Aunt/Pibling/Auncle/Etc Y/n. And Y/n gets to have one more purpose in protecting these ppl they will grow to care a lot about that knew Vanessa when Y/n couldn’t connect with her. Lots of sharing stories abt Vanessa occurs.

I’ll joke abt this in the extras & memes part but I think It would be so funny if Y/n can one moment be depressed and then Eclipse mentions Cass & Greg and they’re like “RIGHT I NEED TO PLAN HOW IM GONNA SPOIL THEM FOR THEIR BIRTHDAY” or “I LOST TO GREGORY LAST TIME IT WON’T HAPPEN AGAIN” or “I NEED TO CHECK UP ON THEM AND MAKE SURE THEY’RE ACTUALLY RESTING AFTER THEY FOUGHT THAT CRYPTID”

Eclipse is simultaneously grateful they have a new source of motivation, they haven’t seen you like this in a while, and he doesn’t dislike Gregory or Cassie. BUT since Cassie and Gregory are still Cryptid Hunters, it isn’t IDEAL lmao

On to elaborating on the comic: I love 3 star fam (by extension cassie) and Vanessa had growth offscreen so now her dying wish to y/n is like:

Nessie: hey. Make sure my kids (that aren't kids anymore) don't die ok cool cool

Sure Greg and Cass have Freddy and Roxy but between:

Demonic cryptids that have no experience being a human NOR a cryptid hunter human at that 

Vs

Friend that might just be there still since if these cryptids could have humanity there's a chance my friend sending me memes that are so in character with their personality is ALSO still human despite being vampire and maybe ness & them could reconcile and Greg and Cass could finally meet the only person ness would have considered family and-

Nessie never would have considered y/n still having their humanity if it weren't for Freddy and by extension Roxy 

And btw Ness would not have given her phone to y/n if she wasn't sure that y/n wouldn't hurt Greg and Cass.

She. Didn't expect y/n to go the extra mile and meet them in person. The phone would give y/n their contact information and all the photos of memories they missed out on

Y/n cries when they unlock ness's phone and Nessie still hadn't changed her password

The video she made that y/n sees at the end is when she was first entertaining the idea of y/n possibly still having their humanity, but still wasn’t sure. It was a video that she only ever planned on y/n seeing if she either died and/or she was sure y/n was still human in some regard. She wanted to leave y/n with something in that scenario.

Vanessa here meeting Vanessa in Cryptid Sightings and Lost episode canon would certainly be something. Vanessas from canon Cryptid Sightings would just. Not know how Vanessa got over it and neither does Ness here know

Also, there are some details for this canon divergence au that are completely settled to me and other details I don't have a solid idea for. Like, I'm not SET on how Nessie and Greg would meet, ness and Cass, if it would be at the same time, who would be doing the glitchtrapping.  Prob becuz some of those are still unclear in canon canon FNAF and others I'm just indecisive

I'll leave it a little loose, up in the air

Also the possession being done by the same cryptid wouldn’t be possible with Cryptid sighting’s universe rules so. I’m not gonna bother figuring out those details for this comic. 

But I do love the idea of Nessie growing closer to Greg and Cass and at least Ness and Greg sharing a bond over dealing with Glitchtrap

Speaking of glitchtrapped GGY in cryptid au-

The wizards FAVORITE now being in same universe as demonic cryptids that would absolutely want to slaughter Glitchtrap for possessing a KID? Making him kill multiple people, including a kid his age? Tasty. Scrumptious. I want to make a separate post just thinking Abt how canon crew for cryptid sightings might react to GGY, especially Cryptid Sun & Moon/Eclipse. I'll save most of that rambling for that potential post since there's so much angst potential. 

While im here, I’ll ask. Naff, how would Eclipse react to a child, possessed by a demonic cryptid, having killed other children? Or. Is that a spoiler since these characters could be introduced in a reunion work and whether Cassie gets possessed to mirror canon fnaf is still up in the air? 👀

@/puhpandas can be blamed for my brain rot of the GGY story and dr rabbit stuffs and the potential it could bring.

Tho I don't expect to see GGY in any continuations of cryptid sightings lol I don't know how that would work when cryptid sightings already has laid down rules for possession in that universe and Glitchtrap is already gone. I'll happily see what Gregory and Freddy are like when they (hopefully) appear in future continuations of cryptid sightings

But since this is canon divergence I can indulge in three star fam real quick

To follow canon canon FNAF (or at least the fanon built off of the scrapped security breach canon as well as what stayed in sb), Vanessa would be saved by Gregory and Freddy, I'm undecided if Cassie would join in sooner or later. Nessie would regardless have to stomach being around kids that remind her of her trauma since she can't just fully IGNORE them. Gregory would have no one since I love the angst of the theory he killed his loving family as GGY 

So. Nessie would probably know that and it would make the situation hard.

Vanessa would grow a bond with Gregory and Freddy at some point, Gregory has a head start  due to. Y'know. Glitchtrap. Hard to not have some sort of connection to the kid that went through what you did too.

Anyway, Vanessa here would be saved by Gregory and Freddy to match up with canon. Or at least, the fanon I subscribe to for security breach since canon was lack luster and scrapped all the good ideas for Vanessa last minute.

Nessie and Gregory would have the shared experience of dealing with Glitchtrap trauma and Cassie gets roped, just like canon, with the whole Mimic situation. Then Nessie has two kids that she can't fully ignore but also can't stomach COMPLETELY being there for. Fun.

But since I adore 3 star fam too much, Vanessa is able to grow attached to Gregory like a big sister eventually (i adore big sis nessie dkljssfkld look at @/boringa55binch 's stuff you'll get ITTT)

When I'd imagine Cassie would be introduced, I bet Nessie would have a harder time with her around since what we've seen of Cassie in canon is only of her getting fooled. I bet Nessie would have a harder time around her for that reason.

But it's not like she COULD leave them completely alone since she's the one with the most cryptid hunting experience. And if these kids are SO INSISTENT about getting into trouble, fine. She owes them after all

I've been undecided if Cassie would be apart of the gang when Nessie is saved so that's up in the air for what ppls like most

Time skip is about 20-30 years ltr I've determined so, Ness did die when she was relatively young. (The circumstances of how she died are a plot device yes i will admit shush it isn’t terribly important sorry jklfdsjksfd)

I'm not the greatest at drawing aged characters so there you have it, Cassie and Gregory are in their late twenties early thirties.

Nessie knows it is a gamble to ask Y/n this favor. But, she's a worried big sis, being around Roxy and Freddy I bet would have softened her heart to the general idea of cryptids not being bad, and y/n doesn't seem to be bad atm. It could be a ghost that'll haunt watch over them, or Nessie's best friend can continue to be long distance buds with Nessie's new family.

And if Y/n was truly gone and all that remained was the vampire tendencies, by this point she has trust Gregory, Cassie, Freddy, and Roxy can keep each other safe. If it was truly a mistake to give y/n her trust.

So, that's why y/n hypes themself up and visits the graveyard when Gregory is there. And it did take a lot out of them but y'know I like the idea of y/n getting close with the gang.

It does make the next cryptid reunion a little weird.

Y/n & Eclipse: YOU DIDN'T MENTION VANESSA WAS A PART OF THE CREW NOW??

Freddy & Roxy: YOU NEVER TOLD US ABOUT VANESSA

Like, imagine both describing Vanessa in previous reunions, and NOW they're finding out it was the same person.

Vampire reveal set aside for later, this is y/n's newest reason to LIVE (mentioned earlier im gonna indulge on details down here)

They can't die yet! They still have memes to send to these kids! Jokes to tell! Series to make them binge with Y/n over a call! This is the gosh darn happiest Eclipse has seen them in decades!!

Flipping between seeing Gregory and Cassie as their nephew and niece and competing with Freddy and Roxy over the title of parent. Regardless of age. (they joke but Y/n never actually competes for the title, they are much too anxious of doing something wrong. Plus, Roxy and Freddy would be pretty tough to beat)

I also think it would be hilarious if Y/n sent out Eclipse with a chancla when Gregory does a Human Hero Complex goof up that painfully reminds y/n of their Human Hero Complex goof ups. He isn't allowed to make the same mistakes without consequence. And y/n WILL stay back in the bushes with goggles to SEE IT HAPPEN. Eclipse ain't worried abt y/n's mental state when they're too invested with their Nephew and Niece.

Gregory: We are adults.

Y/n: Yeah but you're also stupid humans who don't know when to quit.

Eclipse does get a chuckle they're now complaining so much abt human's having these stupid hero/martyr complexes when they were a human not so long ago themself lol

Cryptid Sightings doesn't have Cassie or Gregory in their cast of characters yet so (i think I mentioned this earlier but still), this could age. As of writing this, no reunion fic has been published. Might make a note of that if I release this after the fact. But still. Indulge with me in the hyjinks. I haven’t even begun on Freddy being a dad to y/n and possible Roxy dynamic with y/n lolll.

This au of an au of an au still has lots of angst to be explored like. Oh yeah, Gregory was controlled by Glitchtrap too and has a fuck ton of ptsd SINCE HE WAS TWELVE

Fun discussion for later at thanksgiving over zoom. One that Greg is just like: Can we get back to video games pls. now.

The bombshell that will be Y/n revealed to be a Vampire is still up in the air like I said earlier. But, y'know, it might go better this time.

Y/n hopes for that. Hopes. Funny, you haven't smiled this much in a while.

Vanessa's death hurts. Both of them were too young for their fates. It hurt especially when they were saying goodbye for the very last time. Nessie's death was coming and Y/n knew that, but at the same time. Y/n can focus on caring about people Nessie cared about. People Nessie trusted them to care for.

I like the idea of Y/n continuing to watch over and keep in contact with the people Nessie has impacted in some way. Nessie to Gregory and Cassie to whoever they inspire and have become their successors. And they got so much more they are looking forward to now. Knowing humans and sticking around them even digitally has its risks but I think it could be pretty grounding. They have even more dates to look forward to aside from halloween. Which, will be fun to celebrate with Gregory and Cassie fam.

They can't wait to do some more living.

Transcending time and eternal life.

You’ve been alive for a long time - too long. You’re a divine being, a high goddess, cursed to live an immortal life ever since you broke the rules of the Celestial Realm because you fell in love with a mortal. You were banished to live the life of a mortal, but cursed to live forever and watch everyone die around you.

You’ve seen empires rise and fall, watched civilizations crumble to dust. You’ve loved and lost more times than you can count. And each time, the pain is just as fresh as the first.

But there’s something different about this man. The first time that Choi Jongho walked into the cafe that you were working at in this time period, you felt something inside you stir and awaken. He reminds you so much of the man that you loved in your last life, so much like him that it takes your breath away when he looks at you. He reminds you of your first husband that you fell in love with many centuries ago. The husband that made you broke the rules of heaven and sealed your eternal fate.

You know that you can’t get too close to him. If you do, he’ll just end up like all the others. But you can’t help yourself. You’re drawn to him in a way that you’ve never been drawn to anyone else before. There’s no logic behind it, but the second you laid eyes on him, you knew deep down in your heart that you were meant to be together… even if it was just for a little while.

The day he asked you out, you should have said no. Should have pushed him away. Your life has always been doomed to failure after all, hasn’t it? Who knows how long you’ll be able to keep him in the dark? What happens when he finds out that you’re a divine being?

He’s helped you forget for a while. And when he kissed you for the first time, you’d forgotten all of your worries. All of your pain. For just that moment. Nothing else mattered except that his lips were pressed against yours, holding you tightly. Kissing you softly. Holding you close. And making sure that you didn’t go anywhere without him.

That kiss set off a spark inside of you that had been dormant for a very long time. It awoke a hunger inside of you that you thought was long dead. Jongho’s slowly drawing you back out of the darkness. Bringing back the person that you once were, the person that you used to be when you were with your first husband. He shows you a glimpse of the future, and it looks bright. For just a few moments, you let yourself dream about what could be. About how happy you might be. How good it feels to finally be loved again.

Every single night, you fall asleep with a smile on your face. Falling asleep next to him is even better. His arms wrapped around you, holding you tight. Feeling his warm breath against your neck. The feel of his chest rising and falling next to you.

And every morning, you wake up with the same smile on your face. Even though you’re broken. Even though you’ve been hurt again and again, you find comfort in the fact that you still have hope for a brighter tomorrow.

A future with him.

Tonight you watched Jongho as he slept. He moved restlessly, rolling around on his side, making small noises every now and then. His dark hair covered his forehead, framing his delicate features and you wanted to run your fingers through them. To stroke the side of his face. Touch him in ways you hadn’t been able to touch your husband in all these centuries.

When he shifted slightly, you realized that he was awake, his eyes fluttering open slowly. “Babe?” he whispered, his voice rough from sleep.

“Mmm?” you replied quietly.

He glanced at you, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. “How long have I been asleep?”

You turned away quickly. “Not long.”

“Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.”

“Did I wake you up?”

“No. No.” Your face burned red with embarrassment. “I was just thinking.”

Jongho turned onto his back again and put his arm over his eyes. “About what?”

“Nothing important.” You ducked your head. “Just my mind wandering. You don’t need to worry about me.”

He lifted his hand and lightly stroked your hair. “If you ever need to talk…”

You smiled softly. “I know.”

You laid there in silence, staring at the shadows dancing across the ceiling, remembering all the times you were alone in your bed, wishing for someone to come in and comfort you.

You’re no longer alone.

You opened your mouth to say something, to tell him how much you appreciated him, but before you could say anything, his fingers traced their way along your collarbone, eliciting a shiver. “Why do you look so beautiful while you’re sleeping?”

You laughed nervously. “Do I? Why?”

“Because you’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”

With each word he spoke, your body felt like it was going numb. You reached for him, wanting desperately to hold him, to kiss him, but instead you simply laid your head against his chest, letting your fingers trail through his hair. You listened to the sound of his heartbeat, comforting and steady. The only sounds you heard were your own breath and Jongho’s quiet breathing. It was blissful in its simplicity, yet it felt like everything you needed to be happy.

Eventually, you fell asleep.

When you woke up again, it was still dark outside. Your eyelids were heavy and you could barely keep them open, but you knew you wouldn’t be able to fall back asleep if you waited any longer. So you stretched and got up from the bed, looking around the room for something to wear. All you could find was a white robe draped over a chair near the foot of the bed. Sheathing yourself in it, you went downstairs to see Jongho sitting on the couch, flipping through channels on the TV. He gave you a smile when he saw you. “Good morning.”

You walked over to him and leaned down to kiss his cheek. “Good morning. Did you sleep well?”

“I slept well.” His cheeks flushed and he looked away, fiddling with the buttons on his shirt. He patted the seat next to him. “Come here, babe.”

Feeling like you couldn’t turn down an invitation like that, you slid into the seat beside him. Jongho wrapped an arm around you, pressing a soft kiss to your temple. You laid your head against his shoulder, closing your eyes. “Are you okay? You just seem out of sorts lately.”

“I’m fine,” you murmured. “It’s just been a long day.”

He nodded and kissed your head again. “Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?”

“Maybe some coffee would be nice. And a kiss too.”

He chuckled softly. “Yeah, I guess that would be alright.”

Jongho kissed your cheek once more and got up off the couch, heading towards the kitchen. You watched him go, the sun peeking out from behind the clouds casting a warm glow on his handsome face.

His black hair framed his features, brushing his eyebrows. He caught you staring and blushed, turning around. As he poured you a cup of coffee, you admired his broad shoulders, admiring the muscles flexing as he lifted the kettle. He turned around again, holding two cups of steaming hot liquid in his hands. One for himself and one for you.

“Here you go.” He sat the cups down on the table in front of you. Settling back in his seat, he softly kissed your lips. “Feel better?”

“Better.” You murmured against his lips. ���So much better.”

He kissed you again and you leaned into his embrace, enjoying the warmth of his arms surrounding you. After several minutes, he pulled away, looking at his watch. “Oh, it’s that time already. I need to head out to work.”

“Can’t you skip work today?” You pouted.

“As much as I want to stay home with you, it isn’t possible. Sorry, baby.” Jongho leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss to your lips. “I’ll be home as soon as I can, okay?”

“Okay.” You smiled, leaning in to kiss him again.

As he headed out the door, you lingered in the doorway, watching him walk down the steps. “Have a good day.”

“Bye, babe.” He waved as he stepped outside. The door closed and you found yourself all alone again. Looking around the room, you noticed a notepad sitting on the countertop of the kitchen. Glancing down, you saw Jongho’s neat handwriting scribbled across the page. You smiled, picking it up and opening it. A simple message that told you that he loves you and that he hopes you’ll have a good day.

The perfect reminder of why you fell in love with him.

You heard a ’whoosh’ from behind you and you didn’t even have to turn around to know what, or rather who, it was.

“Greetings, General Seonghwa.” You turned to look at the person that had magically popped into your living room. General Seonghwa, a divine being that you have known for centuries, stood silently in the middle of the room. He looked exactly as he did the last time you saw him, save for the fact that he seemed a little tired. “Thank you for gracing me with your presence and not showing up when he was still here.”

“This new mortal looks like the one that you fell in love with. The same one that you broke the rules for. The same one that got you banished.” Seonghwa walked towards you slowly, stopping right in front of you. You could see the concern in his eyes as he gazed down at you. “The Heavenly Emperor is worried about you.”

“If the Heavenly Emperor was worried about me, why did he banish me in the first place?” You asked, your voice trembling. “He banished me, General. His own daughter.”

Seonghwa shook his head sadly. “Even gods make mistakes.”

“Was it a mistake to fall in love?” You asked. “All the lesser gods and goddesses and other divine beings that cultivated into an immortal can fall in love. But a high goddess…no, the heavenly princess, the daughter of the Heavenly Emperor, can’t? That was my mistake, wasn’t it? That was my punishment.”

Seonghwa raised an eyebrow. “For being brave enough to show your true feelings? Being so stubborn that you’d risk everything for a mortal man?” He frowned. “There are worse things than getting banished by the Heavenly Emperor. Believe me, Princess Y/N. Your father did you a favor.”

“You think so?” You asked. “That’s all you have to say?”

Seonghwa stared down at you. “We were lovers once, weren’t we?”

You sighed heavily. “Yes. We were. But that was so long ago. It doesn’t matter anymore.”

“I suppose not.” He shrugged. “Still, I’m worried about you.”

“Why should you be?”

“Because you’ve fallen for this mortal.” Seonghwa said simply. “The mortal that looks like your first husband.”

You closed your eyes and took a deep breath. “Why exactly are you here, Seonghwa?”

“The Heavenly Emperor has lifted your banishment. He wants you to return home.”

“After a hundred, no, a thousand years after he banished me, he decides that he wants me back?” You snorted derisively. “Sure, that makes sense.”

“Perhaps he feels bad for banishing you.” Seonghwa shrugged. “Regardless, he sent me to ask you to come back.”

You sighed. “Fine. Tell my father that I will be in the Celestial Realm shortly.”

Seonghwa nodded. “Will do, Princess.”

After you said your goodbyes, Seonghwa vanished without a trace. You looked at the clock that adorned the wall above the mantelpiece. There were still hours before Jongho got home from work. Going up to your bedroom to get changed, you knew that you had to go to the Celestial Realm sooner rather than later. To get everything over and done with.

You went back downstairs and looked at the notepad that was on the countertop. You scribbled a small message to Jongho just in case he came home early, saying that you’d be running errands and that you loved him.

You took a step back and knowing that your banishment was lifted, you felt your spiritual energy return to your body and then you found yourself walking into the Celestial Realm once more.

“Welcome home, Princess Y/N!” The heavenly guards shouted as you stared at the city of the Celestial Realm. Bright lights and colors danced and fluttered throughout the sky, bathing the city in a golden light. The buildings in the distance glistened in the sunlight, reflecting the brilliance of the heavenly moon. To the untrained eye, it appeared as though they were glowing from within.

You saw the other gods, goddesses, immortals and even dignities from each of the three realms: Celestial, Earthly and Underworld. Each of them were happy to see you return and as you made your way towards the Jade Palace, you were greeted with cheers and applause.

You held no emotion on your face. These were the same entities that exiled you in the first place. You still hated them, and their attitude still pissed you off.

But you didn’t care anymore. In the beginning, you had hoped that you could prove to your father that mortals are worthy of being treated as equals. That love between humans and immortals could flourish and bloom into a beautiful flower. That love conquers all, and those sentiments remain unchanged. Even after everything that happened to you, you still believed in the human heart and its ability to open up to others, to accept others, regardless of their differences.

And now you had Jongho. The mortal that opened your heart and healed the wounds that had lingered inside of you for a millennium. The mortal that showed you what unconditional love really meant.

When you reached the Jade Palace, you followed the servants through the lavish halls and up the stairs until you finally arrived at the top floor. There sat the Heavenly Emperor, your father, imposingly on his throne. With his long, graying hair tied into a topknot and secured with an intricate gold ornament, he sat tall and proud, his white robe billowing out behind him.

Beside him was Empress Jihyun, your mother, clad in luxurious white robes. “Welcome home, my daughter. We have missed you.” Her face broke into a smile as she beckoned for you to join her. She wrapped her arms around you in a tight hug. “It’s good to have you home again.”

“Likewise, Mother.” You returned her hug and glanced at the other members of the court.

They bowed deeply to you, grateful that you were back. The emperor raised his hand and the entire Jade Palace came to a halt. All eyes turned to him.

“My dearest daughter, you have been gone for far too long. I thought I would never see you again.” His deep voice boomed throughout the palace. “Are you well?”

“I am fine, Father.” You replied.

His gaze softened and a gentle smile appeared on his face. “I have waited for this moment for many, many years.” He chuckled softly. “So I hope you understand why I feel relieved to have you back under my roof.”

He stood up and clasped your hand in his. “Come, let us retire to my private chambers. There, I shall tell you of how your banishment ended and how you came to be summoned back here.”

You stayed rooted to your spot, the other members of the court leaving. You took a deep breath and looked at your father. “Father, I can’t stay long.”

“Why not?” Your mother asked, looking at your father. “You just got back home.”

“You know why. I can’t just leave Jongho there waiting for me.” You said, looking down at the floor. “Time works differently between here and the Earthly Realm. What could be hours or days here are like years…I can’t do that to him. He needs me.”

“You wish to go back?” Your father asked. “Return to the Earthly Realm?”

You looked at your father. You couldn’t lie to him. Could you?

“Yes.” You breathed. “I wish to go back.”

Your father sighed. “You’d throw away your second chance at godhood, to finally be home, for a mortal man?”

“Yes, Father. Yes, I would. And I would do it all over again if I had to.” You let out a deep breath. “After thousands of years loving different mortals, Jongho is different. I don’t want to keep going through the motions. After everything that happened to me, he helped heal my heart. He gave me hope that things could be different. He gives me strength to move forward and find happiness again. I love him. Father, don’t you care about my happiness? Don’t you care about your daughter?”

Your father remained silent, thinking. Finally, he lowered his head and sighed. “You have become much stronger since you left, child. Much more compassionate and caring. You have shown me what unconditional love truly means. And while I may not agree with your decision, I cannot deny that you love him dearly. But you also need to realize that this decision won’t be easy. You’re a goddess and he’s a mortal. He will grow old and die, but you…you’ll remain young and vibrant forever. Your world will always be upside down and chaotic. Why put yourself through such hardship?”

“You haven’t seen how beautiful our relationship is. Our ups and downs, our joys and sorrows. Even when times are rough, we pull through. We’re better together.” You smiled sadly. “And if we could be together forever, wouldn’t you want that too?”

“Of course I would.” Your father replied. “I only want what’s best for you.”

“My love,” your mother laid a hand on your father’s arm. “I know that it’s unheard of, but why don’t we grant this man that our daughter is in love with, immortality? Give him an eternal life with her, as your son.”

Your father stiffened. “Impossible.”

“If you do that, perhaps you could persuade her to stay.” Your mother pleaded. “Don’t you want her to be happy?”

“Do you really love this man?” Your father demanded.

“I love him with all of my heart.” You answered simply. “And I promise that he loves me just as much. If I have to be banished by the heavens to keep him, then I would gladly do it all over again.”

“How do you know that he will even accept this?” Your father pressed. “What if he refuses? What happens then?”

“Then let me go back so that I can tell him. At least then, I’ll have tried.” You crossed your arms over your chest stubbornly. “I refuse to spend another day living this miserable existence alone. I am tired of watching people I care about die around me. Living a life without love. So please, let me try. Let me take this chance.”

“Alright.” Your father nodded slowly. “If this is what you truly want, then we will give it to you.” He patted your shoulder lightly and kissed your forehead gently. “However, there is one condition.”

“Name it.” You sighed.

“If he decides to become an immortal to be with you, then he will marry you. The marriage will be binding in all worlds, mortal and divine.”

“Thank you, Father. Thank you, Mother.” You smiled and threw your arms around them both. They hugged you back tightly. “Jongho and I will make sure to show you that our love will last a lifetime.”

“We look forward to seeing that.” You father waved you off. “Now go before I change my mind.”

“We look forward to meeting our future son-in-law.” Your mother laughed.

“Go and tell him.” Your father urged. “We await his reply.”

You let out a sigh as you plopped on the couch once you returned home from the Celestial Realm. You leaned against the cushions and closed your eyes.

This was a good start. Things seemed to have gone well, considering your fate.

That didn’t mean that things were completely rosy though. You still had to convince Jongho that he should choose to live an eternity with you, instead of continuing his earthly existence. Even though you wanted to stay by his side, you knew that the decision rested solely on his shoulders.

“I’m home!”

You blinked your eyes open. Jongho entered the room with a bright smile on his face. “Hi, babe.”

You wrapped your arms around him and gave him a kiss. “How was work?”

“Tiring.” He replied with a yawn. “I’m exhausted.”

“You must be drained.” You stroked his hair affectionately. “Why don’t you rest for a bit and I’ll fix dinner?”

“Okay, baby.” He leaned down to peck your lips again. “I’ll be right back.”

He ran off towards the bedroom, and soon you heard the water running in the bathroom. Once the bathroom door closed, you hurried into the kitchen and began cooking.

The aroma of food wafted through the house, and soon the delicious smell of sweet potatoes filled the air. Jongho walked in wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. He wrapped his arms around, placing his chin on your shoulder as he watched you cook.

“It smells amazing, babe.” He murmured, kissing your cheek.

“Go get dressed.” You giggled. “You’re being a distraction.”

“What about you?” He cocked his head curiously. “You look hot enough to eat.”

“Jongho!” You blushed furiously and swatted him playfully. “Later. Dinner will be ready soon.”

“I’ll be right back.” He grinned, winking at you before exiting the room.

Once you finished preparing the meal, you called Jongho into the dining room where you had prepared two plates. “Here.” You handed him the plate and watched as he sat down across from you.

“Thank you, babe.” He smiled at you gratefully.

“Anything for you.” You winked and tucked some strands of hair behind your ear. “Eat up.”

Jongho picked up his fork and started eating. When he was halfway through his meal, you decided to ask him a question that had been weighing heavily on your mind. “Jongho?”

“Hmm?”

“Would you believe me if I told you that I’m not of this world?”

“Y/N, I know that you’re not of this world.” He reached across the table to grab your hand in his. “I’ve always known that. Ever since we met.”

“You have?” You asked, surprised.

“Yeah.” He nodded his head. “I knew there was something special about you when I first walked into that cafe for the very first time. There was something…magical about you. Something that drew me in. That made me forget about everything else and fall hopelessly in love with you.”

A warm feeling settled in your stomach as you felt Jongho squeeze your hand.

“Before I met you, every night I would have these dreams of you and I. Wearing clothes from ancient civilizations.” He brushed the back of your hand with his thumb. “Dreams of you and I walking through lush green fields of flowers, at the marketplace eating honey roasted nuts and candied fruits. The scent of jasmine drifting through the air as we walk along the shore of a crystal clear lake. Dreams of holding you in my arms while we danced together under the moonlight. It was magical and felt so real.”

“Oh Jongho…” You squeezed his hand harder.

“Then you showed up.” He swallowed hard. “When I walked into that café, my heart stopped beating for a moment. A whole eternity passed inside of that instant. I knew that you were real and not just some dream. You were real and so beautiful.”

His words melted your heart. How did you get so lucky? How did you ever deserve this? 

“I thought I was going crazy.” He took a deep breath. “Falling for someone whom I just met. But it felt like I’ve known you forever. Like I’ve always known you. All those strange dreams that I’ve been having finally made sense. Every dream of us together was a memory. Memories of us being together long ago. Before this modern age. Back in a time when the world was full of magic and mystery. Memories of our past lives, where we were lovers and soulmates.”

“Really?” You let out a small sob. “You remember all of that? Our memories? Our lives?”

“Yes, baby.” He breathed deeply. “I remember every second of it. Everything about you. I can’t imagine how lonely you must have felt without me. For centuries to pass without knowing if my reincarnated soul would find its way back to you. To see your soulmate being taken away from you because of that damned curse…”

He looked down at the plate in front of him.

“I promised myself that no matter what happened, I would find a way to save you.” He raised his head to stare into your eyes. “No matter what it takes, no matter how impossible it may seem, I will save you. No matter how much pain it brings upon myself. I will fight against the gods until the end of time if I have to. And I will never let anything or anyone separate us. Not even death itself.”

“Even if it means becoming an immortal yourself? Getting rid of your earthly existence?”

“There’s nothing I won’t sacrifice to be with you.” His voice shook. “To be able to wake up next to you every morning, and to lay my head down next to yours every night. To hold you in my arms and feel your heartbeat beneath my fingers. I will risk it all to have a life with you.”

“I’m not going anywhere.” You spoke softly. “And neither are you.”

“I’m sorry.” Jongho sniffed, wiping the tears away from your eyes. “For everything you had to go through. For breaking the rules of heaven because of me. For falling in love with a mortal like me. For not being able to grow old with me.”

You pulled him closer and buried your face into his chest. “It’s okay.” You said with a smile. “I don’t regret loving you. You were the only man I ever loved, and you were the only one I ever needed. My heart belonged to you from the beginning. From the moment I laid eyes on you. I always knew that you would come back to me someday. It’s just that you got lost in the midst of our journey. But now that you found your way back, it feels like everything is coming full circle.”

“It does, doesn’t it?” Jongho mumbled, his chin resting on the top of your head as he held you close. “But no matter what happens between us, even if this cycle continues, my soul belongs to you. You alone. Nothing will ever be able to take that away. You are my everything. I will always belong to you, my goddess. My heavenly princess. My eternal love.”

Your heart soared as he uttered those precious words to you. Words that you had always longed to hear from him. Words that your heart craved to hear over and over again. Now that you could finally hear them, you vowed to treasure them forever.

“Jongho…I…” You hesitated, trying to find the right words to say.

“Don’t worry, my love.” He cupped your face in his hands. “I know exactly what you want to say. You want me to marry you. Right?”

“Right.” You smiled and nodded.

Jongho reached into his pocket and pulled out a diamond ring. You gasped as you stared at it in awe.

“Oh Jongho, this is-”

“Shh.” He silenced you with a finger to your lips. “You’re supposed to be speechless.”

“Oops.” You cleared your throat, letting out a light laugh.

“Y/N, I will do anything and everything to be with you. Even if I have to become an immortal myself. As long as I have a chance to spend an eternity with you, then I will do whatever it takes to make that happen. You are the reason for my existence. The reason why I continue to exist after my death. So I promise to never leave you alone. Not even for a single day. Not even for a single moment. Forever and always, my love. You will always be the center of my universe.”

You stared at the ring in his palm. So elegant and exquisite. A shining reminder of your undying love for each other. A perfect symbol of your unbreakable bond.

“Marry me.” He whispered softly. “Become my wife. Be my everything. My eternal love.”

You couldn’t speak. Your throat had gone dry. You had never wanted anything more than to spend the rest of your life with Jongho by your side.

“Say yes.” He urged gently. “Please, baby. Please, say yes.”

Slowly, you nodded your head. “Yes, Jongho. I will be your wife. Your eternal love.”

Jongho smiled as he slipped the ring onto your finger.

“Now that we’ve gotten that settled, let’s celebrate.” He chuckled, pulling you into his arms. “Let me love you in ways that I have never done before.”

You moaned as you felt him lean forward and kiss you tenderly. You wrapped your arms around his neck and ran your hands through his hair, bringing him closer to you. Jongho kissed your lips passionately, devouring you with every kiss.

After several minutes, you broke the kiss. “Is this how you want to celebrate?” You asked with a smirk.

“Of course.” Jongho chuckled. “This is the best way to celebrate. Celebrating with you, celebrating our everlasting love.”

Jongho held his breath as you led him up the stairs of the Jade Palace and towards the Great Hall. Never in his entire life had he been so nervous.

“Are you nervous?” You asked him as you took his hand in yours.

“Nervous? What am I supposed to be nervous about?” He laughed nervously. “Baby, of course I’m nervous. I’m meeting your parents. You know, the ones that are the Heavenly Emperor and Empress?”

“I guess that makes sense.” You laughed. “Jongho, I’m right here with you. We’ll be fine.”

He sighed as he glanced down at your hand. Saw the way the diamond ring glistened against your skin.

“I just want you to know that I’m really happy that you’re here with me.” He said softly. “Because Y/N, without you, I wouldn’t be able to deal with meeting your parents. At least not alone.”

You smiled softly as you leaned forward and kissed his cheek. “You’re welcome.”

Jongho watched as you walked ahead of him. Taking in every step that you took, every movement that you made. Feeling as though he was entranced by you. Every time you took a step forward, he felt like his legs grew weaker. And every time you turned to look at him, he lost control of himself. Seeing you in your robes of white and gold silk, looking so ethereal and majestic as you walked ahead of him, left him speechless.

“You are the most beautiful woman in the world.” He whispered to himself as he followed you. “I love you so much, Y/N. More than anything else in this world.”

You smiled as you glanced over your shoulder and saw him watching you. Walking behind you slowly, unable to stop staring at your figure. The way your hair flowed gracefully behind you. The gentle sway of your hips as you walked. Each step sent waves of lust coursing through his veins. Making him ache for you. Make him crave you with every ounce of his being.

You couldn’t help but turn around to see if he was still following you. If he was thinking about you too.

“Come on, husband-to-be. Hurry up.” You called out, laughing quietly as he tried to adjust the white robes he originally hesitated to wear but wore them anyway to please you.

Jongho chuckled as he continued walking after you. Focusing his attention on you instead of the path in front of him. Just like how you used to walk ahead of him, stealing glances at him whenever he was near you. Always catching him off guard whenever he turned to look at you. Leaving him speechless and weak. You were so wonderful, so breathtaking, so intoxicating. And you made him want to surrender his very soul to you. Completely. Without hesitation.

A gentle breeze blew past your ears as you stood in the middle of the Jade Palace. The soft chirping of birds echoed throughout the palace. Flowers bloomed along the path, surrounding you with their sweet fragrance. Jongho smiled as he gazed at you, standing there so serenely. A vision of beauty that stole his heart away. You could easily pass for an angel if he didn’t know any better. But he did know better. He knew the truth. That you were far more than an angel. Far more than he could ever dream of.

You were his goddess, his heavenly princess. His eternal love.

You turned to look at him and giggled softly as he looked like he was having a hard time walking. The Jongho of centuries past would have had no problem in these clothes. He’d simply stride forward confidently. But this Jongho was slightly awkward in his white and gold robes. So clumsy and shy. So cute. You couldn’t help but giggle. This version of Jongho was quite endearing. A completely different person than the version you had fallen in love with years ago. And yet, you knew deep inside that this Jongho was the same man that you had fallen in love with from the start.

“Ready?” You asked, gently nudging him with your elbow.

Jongho gave you a sheepish grin. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”

You laughed as you led him into the Great Hall, entwining your fingers with his. You were glad that there was no else present apart from your parents. Just you and him. And you hoped that they liked him. Because you loved him with all of your heart. And he was the first man that you ever truly cared about.

“My lovely daughter, my soon to be son-in-law.” Empress Jihyun smiled warmly as she stood in front of you. Her eyes sparkled as she gazed at you with love.

“Mother. Father.” You greeted respectfully before turning to look at Jongho. You squeezed his hand in reassurance, silently telling him that you were here with him. “This is the man that I love, Jongho. I lost him once, and now I’ve found him again. And I don’t intend to lose him again. He’s my life.”

The Heavenly Emperor, your father, nodded. Taking yours and Jongho’s hands in his own, he patted them reassuringly. “It has been far too long since I have seen my daughter smile like this. Welcome to our family, my son-in-law.”

You turned to gaze at Jongho, eyes filled with happiness from the words that your father had spoken. To hear that your father was accepting of him. With tears of joy streaming down your cheeks, you wrapped your arms around him tightly. Hugging him tightly as you let go of all the pain and anguish that had consumed you over the years. All those times that you cried yourself to sleep because of the mistakes that you had made in the past. All the times that you wondered if you would ever find true love again. But now, with the return of your Jongho, you knew that you were finally home.

In just a few days, Jongho will become an immortal and live forever. You won’t need to worry about losing him anymore. Because you’ll be together forever. Together with your soul mate, and the one that you both had waited for your whole lives.

Lothwolfwalkers AU Masterpost

I will be editing and adding to this over time and details are subject to change. Most recent update will be indicated with a ☆

Suggestions and ideas are SO welcome, my inbox is your oyster. I might even link previous asks with lore bits in here at some point.

The original Wolfwalkers were a small group of Lothali Natives. They were Force-sensitive as the lothwolves are but typically not as much as Jedi. Of course, they did have dealings with the Jedi many decades ago. They actually had a very close relationship at one point, with plenty of Wolfwalkers becoming Jedi and vice versa. Lothal basically had its own unique faction of Jedi intertwined with the wolfwalkers. But for *unknown reasons* the lothwolves disappeared, the wolfwalkers dwindled, and the Jedi left.

The main Jedi temple may still exist in the records (as shown by Kanan’s holocron) but the history seems to only be preserved through the ancient art in temples and wolf dens on Lothal.

*Ezra said no one’s seen a lothwolf in a hundred years and I don’t feel like coming up with an explanation. Wolfwalkers are also heavily implied to be near extinct in the movie.

When the Empire arrived and began to slowly poison the planet, its magic grew quiet and any scattered remaining wolfwalkers began to lose their power, including Ezra’s parents. Ezra’s high Force-sensitivity allows him to connect to his. Once the Empire is defeated and the lothwolves return, the wolfwalkers will begin to come back as well.

Lore carried over from Wolfwalkers for those who haven’t seen the movie:

The wolf body is separate from the human (or alien) body and only appears when they fall asleep. ☆They can wolf spontaneously but the human counterpart will still fall asleep if that happens. Force-sensitive wolfwalkers can also meditate their way into wolf form.

Some are born wolfwalkers and some become them after being bitten by another wolfwalker

They can communicate with wolves and other animals

Healing powers

They can see scent trails, feel sound vibrations, probably some other sensory chaos

Variations of Wolfwalkers based on Force-sensitivity and proximity to Lothal:

Size Reference

Native Lothal people can become wolfwalkers regardless of Force-sensitivity and transform with ease.

Non-native nonForce-sensitive people can become wolfwalkers but it can wear off or go dormant after a while, and its much harder to learn to wolf on command or control it when asleep. ☆ If their wolf form does go dormant, they will likely wake up in the presence of other wolfwalkers or even just visoting Lothal.

Jedi (or anyone highly Force-sensitive) can easily connect with and control their wolf-forms with practice, no matter where they are, and can contain their wolf when asleep when necessary. It probably sucks though, feels itchy and restless.

Jedi wolf forms can change and grow due to *significant events.* I made the Jedi-wolves gigantic purely because of Dume so working concept that Weird Fucked Up experiences with the Force make the wolf forms huge bc they like. Absorb cosmic energy or something. Ezra will also get gigantic in the future, bc boy does he have some cosmic experiences.

The wolf is essentially a physical manifestation of one's soul, as well as the Force. The wolf is equal to one's connection to the Force, which in my book is like an expansion of your soul as energy from the Force swirls and clusters around you and pulls at you. It causes your soul to overflow from your body and that's why you get power. This is why non-Force sensitive wolfwalkers are normal sized as wolves (same size as normal lothwolf) whereas Jedi wolves are bigger even before having fucked up cosmic experiences.

Also. Force abilities manifest differently in wolf-form. It's like you can't really use the Force with percision bc you are the Force. Or smth. I'll come back to that. ☆

Stuff I made up for the plot:

Ezra has always been a wolfwalker, like his parents. But the lothwolves are gone and his parents are dead and he’s never actually connected to his wolf-form. He often has dreams, trying to find his wolf but not actually knowing what he’s looking for and never successful. It’s part of why he can connect with animals so well, and sometimes he can see/hear/smell through flashes of wolf-sight but he goes a long time thinking it's just the Force. Once he figures it out, it will take a long time for him to discover all the abilities and secrets and hidden knowledge etc. Until the Lothwolves return there is no one to teach him.

If a wolfwalker’s human body dies, they can still exist in their wolf forms but it's not guaranteed. It's a gamble with time and the healing abilities of their fellows, as any injuries the human body sustains will also appear on the wolf. The wolf must stay in spirit form until healed or it will quickly die the same way its human form did. They might also be somewhat ghostish. Like they can still have solid bodies but can also just dissolve into the Force at will. Anyway this entire AU was just my here’s-how-Kanan Jarrus-can-still-win scheme MWAHAHA

It’s always a privilege to see you in my inbox, thank you so much for this lovely ask and apologies for taking two centuries to reply lol this was a quite emotional trip down memory lane for me - I couldn’t decide whether to go with rec lists or single recs (oof I haven’t written one in so long 🥲) because they’re both so different and special in their own way. In the end I’m gonna do lists because I think they’re generally more helpful and popular! I’ve been going through a creative / fandom slump for a while now, so this was great encouragement as it made me look back at my own recs with joy and kindness. Thank you babes 💜

1. I actually still love the Drarry for Beginners series! Fun story, I wasn’t very confident about it at first - I was getting many requests for a classics rec list back then but I don’t really vibe with the “MUST read these or you’re not a valid fandom member” mentality so I tried to come up with a different format that felt more like an invitation than a lecture. I think I found a good balance of well known fics and hidden gems, so I’m very proud of that. Also, the banners looked really good! Especially the redemption arc and the Muggle!Draco AU ones if I do say so myself.

2. The Hidden Gems series is also one of my most precious babies - it took me a long time to plan it out, read all fics and prepare the small blurbs for each one and I really love how it came across, the authors I chose to highlight, and the fact that I was able to mix Drarry and rare pairs. I remember getting an ask back in the day that accused me of only reccing my friends (anon really overestimated my network size 🤣), they could have at least checked the hidden gem series before going for public embarrassment lol there’s so much to explore there, and I really wanna come back to it one day to finalize the second edition that I started posting in 2022. Hopefully this year!

3. 35 Romantic Shorts: my heart is so very soft for this one, not only because the ever generous @bluebutter-art has let me use her stunning art for the banner, but I’m also such a passionate champion of short form and I feel like this list really embraced the concept and delivered great recs. I’m not a fluff gal by any standards so this was a nice exercise finding the softest, most romantic and soothing reads that made my heart beat faster. It would be lovely to go back and maybe add a couple more lists with new shorts, or alternatively make new lists for medium-length and long fics. So many ideas, so little time!

4. It feels like a lifetime ago but I’m still very fond of my “smutty recs week” that I made to celebrate one of my first followers milestone. Ahh the nostalgia! All lists can be found here and include a wide variety of themes and kinks like voyeurism, dirty talk, gang bang and others. Those banners are some of my favourites too, they turned out very sassy and clever if I do say so myself. I had so much fun with them! I gotta find the time to sit down and update some of those lists with newer treats!

5. Now highlighting something more recent (from Feb 2023… LOL) I’m super proud of my Rare Pair Romance list for Valentine’s Day. It was a great chance to compile (most of) my favorite rare pair fics in one place and include different ships and tropes. I’m always looking for an excuse to rec het pairings which I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, so this was the perfect way to do it.

1. This is hard to answer, because this year I tried to do something different with every fic I posted. When I got a concept I very pointedly didn’t shy away from it because it seemed difficult, or I thought I might be bad at it, so there’s something that makes me proud with each one. IF I HAD TO CHOOSE THOUGH I’m going to cheat and pick two.

What it Will Be I’m proud of this because it fell out of me SO EASY. I felt like the process of writing it was a testament to how hard I’ve been working at improving all year, and it came together very quickly and very well. I’m also proud because I incorporated @heckitall ‘s comic page to base it off of, and I’d never tried writing fic for a visual media like that. It was super fun!

On the OTHER end of the spectrum is Case of the Hidden City vs Lou Jitsu because it is VERY technically and narratively complicated and is by far the most ambitious thing I’ve ever written. It’s very hard, but I am VERY proud because I haven’t QUIT it. It’s not complete yet, but it is a good amount of the way there and I’m excited to finish it. Probably once I’ve recovered from surgery lol.

2. This sounds insincere maybe, but I really am happy with the engagement I get on my fic. I really do write my fic for me, and while I love to make sure as many people who want to read it can find it, at the end of the day I don’t like assigning people homework! I went through my whole works list and scratched my head and really tried to think of there was anything I wanted to plug, and I don’t think there is!

I guess I’ll post my lowest viewed, my Swanatello fic! @tangledinink ‘s AU I’m sure everyone’s familiar with lol. I knew that one would be lower when I posted it, if only because it has prior required reading (Swanatello). But I wrote it mainly because the AU was starting to reach a critical point and I REALLY wanted to write fanfiction of how I fantasized an ending might be, so I could go back and read it for comfort. I love Odette and the lore Kayson made for his AU, so I’ll plug this only because I think some people may have missed it!

3. Three works!! JUST THREE?? AUGH.

Not only was it one of the best fics I’ve ever read, but I got the privilege of seeing how talented Rem is behind the scenes a little and saw how they write and work and I really want to emulate them going forward. One of many all timer fics for me, for sure, I’d love to read any original fiction they put out.

The Whispering Forest and Other Tales

I love love LOVE the feudal Japan fusion, the research, and the perfect blend of Usagi Yojimbo’s universe with what the Riseverse would have been like in this era. Even the little segues into what they’re wearing and eating is endlessly fascinating to me. Every single character is written to be the best and most interesting version of that character I could imagine. Theres Leosagi, there’s a PB&J murder mystery, there’s spookiness- AND Raphael Hamato gets wifed up!! WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT? I love people that write a fully fleshed story that could be a standalone universe, without losing ANY of the flavor or humor or narrative of the original source material.

And last is I’m Sorry, Teenage Mutant What Now

@tangledinink has such a good grasp of family and writing, and realistic portrayals of what would HONESTLY HAPPEN if you discovered literally any aspect of the ROTTMNT narrative. Not even taking into ACCOUNT the turtle nonsense, how do you unpack a family that’s been devoted to destroying a magic monster and sacrificing themselves, or a Dad that fought in a death match battle royale for over a decade, or a RIVAL CLAN OF NINJA? All the characters are written SO WELL, and Kayson does a fantastic job of never letting the characters or story fall into cliche tropes. Their characters are always super detailed, to the point where I really feel it if they’re hungry or hurt or itchy. Which is a weird thing to point out but they make sure you really FEEL the situation. Also like, turtles in highschool? Body dysphoria? My CO-CEO of Hamato Yoshi???

What a great year!! I had so much fun in fandom this year and made a lot of friends.

It's Showtime! - July 2024 Devlog

Howdy! Cobalt here, and wow, July really went by quick for me. Luckily, I also got a good amount of things done! In fact, I did a lot of things I've been holding off on for a while. Sorry the dev log is late,despite knowing I should, I didn't make notes on what I did this month nor did I start it earlier… Then I had a really bad time with my body (just cramps, dw!) the last few days of the month which made it hard to write. I swear I'll develop better habits for this as it goes on.

when it comes to programming, I've gotten a few minor things going on. I have a cut scene manager script now that keeps track of various things, including which cut scenes have already played but also which cut scenes you've seen between save files and stuff. This way it can make any cut scene you've already seen in any of your playthroughs skippable. I haven't actually gotten the skipping script to work yet nor stuff like triggering the cut scenes, but I'll need more placeholder sort of things to work on that stuff. The inventory also reorganizes itself after you use an item to make sure empty slots are at the bottom and filled ones are on the top. A lot, I mean a lot, of writing has been done this month. On Focuswriter [the program I use for all my writing] I hit the longest writing streak I ever had, 63 days in a row of meeting my daily goal [which is 500 words]! My in-depth/in-game writing doc has 16,783 words right now and my game design document [which contains the story summary] 20,764 words. [It actually shrank a bit because I made the story summary of chapter 1 like an actual summary, instead of being far too in-depth on a lot of parts. But that's still an improvement even if it seems weird on the word counts.] I've done a lot of writing out the story beats I've had in my head for a while but haven’t inserted it into my documents yet. I wanna focus on doing stuff like writing out the ending and more general story beats since I don't really want to go too far into development without way more of the story taken out of my mind and actually written down somewhere. Despite how excited I am to show more to the public. Since we will not be releasing It's Showtime through the chapters, I'm gonna try to make development less chapter focused, I don’t know how we’ll be releasing it, complete or in some other parts… But we’re not really far enough into development to be thinking of that yet. Luckily, I can say confidently I'm delighted with the speed of development so far. It's not much by most standards but for two queers making their first game of this scale while also balancing learning adult stuff, we've done way more than I thought we would so far! In terms of art, there's been both a lot done and not a lot. We've been doing a bit of concept art, getting references done, and speculating on things. But the place where the most progress has been made technically wasn't actually for the project itself… See, this month I think I finally started to really get the hang of blender. I finished a model for a friend of mine of their version of Evan from the Bendy Novels. It's fully rigged and I'm really happy with it. I'm also almost done with two other big models I'm making of someone's Bendy au designs and I'm sure when you guys see them, it'll make you excited for what the models in Showtime will look like. In general, I think I've finally found a workflow I'm happy with, and that allows me to make models both quickly but also to a quality I'm very happy with. I imagine very soon I'll be doing the first true collections of models for Showtime, whether they'll be the ones seen in the final release I don't know. But the practice alone will surely teach me a lot more about Blender.

As for other things… Ink Demonth is happening again and this time, I would love to create something for each prompt. They probably won't be posted daily, or in order, but still, I'd love for me and my partner to make something for each prompt within the month. Specifically related to Encore! and such. It'd be a good way to keep the blog alive and to stir up more attention on It's Showtime! This isn't a promise we will, but I thought I'd mention our hopes for Ink Demonth. Overall, I'd just advise all of you to be on the lookout for things going on with this game. I've got a lot of little plans for it that are almost ready to be put into motion and I'm super excited to show you guys more as things go on. Fine, I haven’t posted anything recently, so I’ll post some of the mlp:fis rewrite or au thing I did since I’ve had it for a while.

Just to first preface, my rewrite was basically to bring all the species and driving villains or storylines to be present at the beginning of the story. Just to tie it all together and make it not look like all the final aspects of the show were not thrown together. And I made some of the mane main six into some of those species, to further tie in our species and them coming together as a plot point derived from the beginning, not just added to the end to keep the show running and sell more toys. My fixation on this has died out a little while ago as my brain is rotting with Merlin right now. So I’ll explain how far I got with my concept, and as the story goes along I will show each character as they are introduced. This is all sketches, ruff drafts and concepts, but I enjoyed making it and I hope some of you will enjoy reading it and seeing my take on these redesigns. Some ponies will have two designs, to show how they may change during the story duration, or how they true selves, if hidden, will be revealed and accepted by everycreature. Also most in not all creatures have Cuite Marks now. Because I said so.

Without further ado, my take on My Little Pony Adventures: The Lost Pillars

So, this au begins with Twilight, of course researching Nightmare Moon. Coming to the conclusion that her return will be soon. Not as soon as before, but giving a longer time to build up to this. Celestial will tell her this is a childish thought, and remind her to return to her studies of Starswirl the Bearded and his mysterious companions. Not much is written about them and Twilight had been researching to try and find any information on the ponies. They were vaguely depicted in legends, but there truly was not much research. Celestial deems it best to send Twilight on a quest across the lands to dig up more information. Twilight agrees, to also use this as an excuse to research Nightmare Moon further, and now to defeat her. (Spike is included in this, he is just more baby like. And Twlight would instead be mother like to him. I just hadn’t drawn him as I had more focus on the mane six.)

On her search, Twilight will find a rather odd Pegasus going by the name Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash had asked for her help, trying to find out where the next Wonderbolt’s competition was. She’d been asking around, but people avoided her like the pledge. Something was just off about it. But Twilight, being to wrapped up in her research, didn’t notice these strange features about her, (how her tail resembled one of a unicorn’s and not a pegasus. Her hooves closer to earth pony’s, the small beard only carried by unicorns.) Rainbow now like a torn in her side got attached to the only pony who would help her. One of which had confessed her next stop was Griffenstone. Rainbow decides to tagalong, claiming she had a friend there. (Later it is revealed Rainbow Dash is a changeling, and one of the first to transform through giving love. She loved the wonderbolts, and flying. Having snuck into flying schools, doing the first sonic rainboom was when it happened. Changlings weren’t known to have cutie marks, but in giving love they are given one in this au)

Getting to Griffinstone, we encountered Pinkie Pie. The happiest Griffin Twilight and Rainbow had ever seen. Rainbow splits off for a bit to hang out with her old friend, Gilda. Pinkie would bounce between Twilight, asking about ponies since she’d never left her hometown before, and Rainbow, doing the same but seeing Gilda and Rainbow pull pranks, she would occasionally join in. Both would shoo her back and fore until Gilda hurts her feelings, and Twilight finally burst in frustration over being able to find none of Griffinstone’s legends. That’s when Pinkie is perky once more, since she knew everything about the children’s stories, and even where the library and everything was. This is the moment Twilight finds out the Six Pillars aren’t ponies at all. They were different species. But because there was such a divide among all the creatures, of course Pony legends wouldn’t know another of other creatures. Now Twilight knew she had to go to all the creature’s lands to find out their legends and figure out where all of them truly came from. Rainbow having her falling out with Gilda and following Twilight once more, since eventually Twilight was headed to where the next Wonderbolt event would be hosted to update Celestial on her findings. Pinkie now tagging along as she wanted to party and have fun with every creature and see new sites.

Random shit me and my friend have decided are canon (in our own Tranformers au). Honestly it hinges a lot of the concepts of Triple Changers and Combiners

Combiners are a naturally accruing thing, and can be either born (such as a split spark situation) or made when bots with comparable altmodes create a gestalt bond with one another

Triple Changers however aren’t a naturally accruing thing, they’re all made by adding the second alt mode. The only “functional” triple changers are the ones made pre-war like Springer. Tbe ones made during the war were/are unstable and likely dead or dying. The Autobots have never tried to make their own Tripled but the Deceptioncs have tried several time (Blitzwing, Astrotrain, etc) and none of them are stable.

Other stuff under the cut

Prowl has a large blast scar on his abdomen given to him by Barricade early in the war. He refused to have it fixed it painted over as it’s “unnecessary and cosmetic” (truthfully it’s a reminder not to trust so easily)

Hot Rod and Arcee are twins, Arcee having been the one to paint on Hot Rods flame decals. Later on, after he meets back up with her after becoming Rodimus, she is the one to help him fix his paint job

Arcee is also called tbe Terror on Two Wheels due to how fast she is (fastest two wheeler) and her fast reflexes

Cliffjumper and Bumblebee have always had alt modes that were very very similar (voltswagon and a mini cooper) (Ferrari and a Lambo in our universe)

Slipstream is directly below Starscream in seeker command (with thundercracker being directly below her). Her trine was lost in the beginning of the war and she now flys mostly solo missions. She has an outlier ability but we haven’t decided what exactly

Prowl and Kup were acquaintances before the war, which is why Prowl entrusted Springer with him (Prowl isn’t very similar to his IDW counterpart cuz we prefer other versions of him sorry)

Prowl wasn’t aware Springer was turned into a triple changer until he met up with Kup some ways into the war and met the Wreckers there (he was beyond mad but kept things under wrap to keep his and springer connection under wraps)

Elita-One as well as Windblade, Hot Rod, Cliffjumper, Bluestreak, and a few other bits were assumed dead for years due to their transport ship being blown up

Elita is a mother figure to Hot Rod and Arcee and an idol for a lot of bots including a lot of the wreckers

Her and Magnus were often partners in battle

Wheeljack was apart of the Wreckers till an injury took him off the front lines, which is when Preceptor took his place (they’re good friends). He’d join the main group on tbe Arc due to this injury where he’d befriend Jetfire and co.

Jetfire and Starscreams relationship would have been almost salvageable if not for the time Jetfire almost blew up Thundercracker. Skywarp and Starscream, two bots who typically don’t work well together, we’re almost done shredding down the door to the bunker Jetfire was hiding in before they were called off

Despite how nasty he can be, Starscream and Soundwave have an amicable relationship (they both have people they don’t want to lose and who’d they kill for) Starscream may bicker and nag his trine but he does shockingly care for them

Prowl cares for his gestalt but he’s just not open with it. He generally hates opening up around anyone unless they pry it out of him

Blaster and Wheeljack are very good friends

Worldbuilding... Thursday? Sorry guys, it's the week before Finals and I am FRAZZLED. Anyway. Today we're talking about Togrutas :D

First of all, all cultural aspects of the Togruta that exist in the canonical Star Wars universe (both Disney canon and Legends) remain intact. I try to do this with all the races, and simply build upon what is already there, adapting it to fit the specifics of the AU.

Okie Dokie let's divide this into sections :D

Appearance

Togrutas, on average, have dark skin, though the exact shade can vary between individuals (for example, Shaak Ti has much darker skin than Ahsoka), and tones can range from very light brown to almost black.

They also tend to have dark hair, though texture and exact color are fairly diverse. Some individual togrutas also naturally have colorful undertones in their hair, which make their hair look bluish or purplish or greenish or what have you in certain lighting. Not that that’s seen much, however, because of their Montral Headdresses.

Clothing

The most distinguishing feature of Togruta clothing are their Montral headdresses. These consist of three parts: what I will call the Wimple, the Lekku Braid, and the Montral Horns.

The Wimple: Unlike Twi’leks’ lekku, this is not a wrapped headscarf as my old art used to show. Instead, they are more like a wimple? But also not? If that makes sense? (I’ll put a picture of a real-life wimple here.) For convenience, I just call it the Wimple. Basically, they’re sewn as almost a fitted garment for the head, and they fasten in the front under the chin. They can be in any color, however, they are *usually* unpatterned. You can see how they work (sort of) by looking at Ahsoka’s official reference.

The Lekku Braid: The lekku braid is a length of braided rope, in white and at least one other color, that is pinned to the wimple in such a way that it frames the face and hangs down the sides of the head. It is braided very thick at the ends, but relatively thin in the middle so that it can sit comfortably as part of the headdress. Additionally, once a Togruta reaches maturity, he or she will braid additional braids to wrap around the horns of his or her montrals. 

Montral horns: When a Togruta adolescent comes of age (I haven’t decided what age this will be yet), he or she sets forth on a ritual hunt to obtain the horns for his or her montrals. The horns can be taken from any horned creature, and once it has been killed and the horns removed, they are mounted on a thin metal plate shaped to fit the head snugly, so as to hold the mount in place. On that note, as the horn mount goes under the wimple, there are several devices keeping it steady (because they have the potential to be at least moderately heavy and therefore run the risk of slipping off of the head): there are combs involved to keep it secured to the hair; the plate has ties at ear-level, which tie under the chin and then thread through the pins that keep the Lekku Braid framing the face. Thinner braids are then wrapped around the horns (this is for aesthetic reason, mostly- they hide the seams of the holes that must be cut out of the wimple for the horns to show through, and give the horns a prettier look overall). For convenience, some Togrutas glue them in place, but more traditional individuals prefer to wrap and unwrap them every morning.

Togruta clothing tends to be loose, made of natural fabrics like linen, cotton, and wool, and in rich, warm earth tones such as ochre and chocolate brown. It usually incorporates construction such as full skirts, puffy gathered sleeves, and lots of layers. Decoration tends to be simple on the main clothing pieces, however, Togruta sashes are highly ornate, and may include embroidery, beading, applique, and colorful dyed patterns. 

Culture

Facial markings are incredibly important to Togrutas, because- as a fiercely tribal people- they signify one’s ties to one’s family. While each individual has unique element combinations, most marking patterns are taken from at least one aspect of a relative’s markings (this can be a parent, a grandparent, an older sibling, et cetera). From the Marking Ceremony at age three (in which the child will first choose and be painted in their markings) to coming-of-age, the markings are painted; at one’s Coming-of-Age Ceremony, they become permanently tattooed on the face. Orphaned Togrutas, and/or Togrutas taken to be Jedi, usually base their markings on stylized or symbolic interpretations of features of the people who have become their family. Because I am a sucker for the found family trope. For example, Ahsoka’s cheek markings are stylistic interpretations of the horns on Plo Koon’s tribal helmet. (This will make more sense once I actually get around to talking about Kel Dor.)

In natural spaces, Togrutas often opt to go shoeless, especially on their native island of Shili. They have a great respect for the natural world and consider it sacred. (This is canon information but I’m putting it on here because I went on a Wookieepedia rabbit hole to learn these straight togruta FAX and i loved it so much. Spread awareness, y’all.)

Togrutas are also known for their distinctive blades, which they use in hunting and in self-defense. These are colloquially known as “The Fangs of the Togruta”. These knives, usually in the form of daggers- but, occasionally, as swords- are easily identified by their wavy blades. Many Togruta Jedi forge their lightsabers in the pattern of the Fangs.

rahhhh i haven’t felt like drawing for it (i miiiight after work today?) but i have some teams picked out for the p3 pokemon au and i feel like babbling about them since ive been replaying heartgold. under da cut. a lot of the team configurations are based on a mixture of persona parallels and just vibes.

femc/kotone/minako/etc

I’ve literally redone her team a million times because I’m never satisfied with it but i forced myself to compromise on this particular configuration (she’s probably got a ton in her pc though. members that didn’t make the cut include bewear, raticate, musharna, dragapult)

blaziken represents orpheus, and duskinoir represents thanatos. the remainder are more like “i think she’d have these”. storywise in particular, plusle is a childhood pokemon matching with yuki’s minun (the protags are twins in this au as always).

yukari

these are pretty outright i think. decidueye for the obvious archery reasons (have joked that i think it’d be cute if yukari’s decidueye actually used to be very poor with its aim until she started helping it practice)

miltank being (sort of???) representative of io, and togekiss being (SORT OF???) representative of isis. (there are only so many cow/bull pokemon and a few of which im reserving for other teams)

the rest are mostly vibes based! porygon in particular is a pokemon passed down to her from her father after his death. she has a very tight bond with it.

akihiko

magnezone represents polydeuces and golurk represents caesar

the rest are mostly vibes based. aki comes off as the type of trainer who would literally fistfight his pokemon as training. his pachirisu was his sister’s first and only pokemon before she passed.

mitsuru

ceruledge represents penthesilea. empoleon Somewhat represents artemisia.

she has somewhat noble/rare pokemon to fill her team. gardevoir is a reference to her mild navigational abilities (it would be kinda funny if she was mildly psychic like sabrinabut to a lesser extent). indeedee is a pokemon she picked up at a young age, one of the first few she caught herself.

fuuka

fuuka is a coordinator as opposed to a trainer, so her team isn’t super battle-capable. lapras and musharna are meant to sort of rep lucia/juno.

i dont have heavy thoughts on her selection but i think quagsire is very close to her.

aigis

this is one of the teams that has a great number of members that relate to her personas. bastiodon, escavelier, and iron valiant are meant to represent palladion/athena. silvally is pretty much a perfect fit narratively as a partner for aigis. ninjask is there because well i think she likes it. pikachu is a match with the rest of the moonlight bridge quartet, each having an electric mouse pokemon

I think chidoris are pretty self explanatory. very vibes based. tauros/houndoom representing medea. mesprit because we’ve been imagining each member of strega being in possession of a member of the lake trio.

I was technically not tagged (which is fair. I haven’t been super active in the Gallavich fandom for a while). But this game is super up my alley so I’m doing it anyway 😊

then try to come up with the title, plot, vibe, and details of a fic including whatever the generators gave you. you don’t actually have to write it, just put the concept into the world! this is basically just a thought experiment.

AU: Shipwrecked AU

Trope: Write a modern royalty AU

The Gallaghers are a royal family from some European country. (Possibly somewhere in the UK or a made up one idk). They’re notorious because of the antics and scandals of their father, King Francis, and the whole world is basically waiting for him to finally get himself killed and for the eldest, Princess Fiona, to become queen.

Prince Ian, frankly, is glad that he is two people behind from ever becoming king. Being a prince in the public is bad enough with having to keep his sexuality on the down-low. Not to mention he always has the fear of his true parentage one day being leaked to the press. (In this AU, he is secretly Clayton’s biological son just like in canon).

The Gallagher siblings decide to take a break from the scandalous life the castle brings them by going on a long cruise on their private yacht.

Mickey is hired to work on the ship as a deckhand during the cruise. At first he didn’t want to take the job because working under a bunch of prissy rich royals was the last thing he wanted to do. But he eventually talked himself into it because hey, the pay is decent and it would mean a good month of being away from Terry. (And if he played his cards right, maybe he could find a few jewels or other expensive shit to snag).

Ian meets Mickey on the ship and is smitten immediately. There’s something about Mickey’s grumpy exterior that just charms him. Being a prince, he’s always had to be careful about his hookups not getting exposed. But they were on a ship and away from the general public. Perfect timing to have a fun fling, right? Only, Mickey doesn’t seem super receptive to his flirtation. Maybe his assumptions that Mickey wasn’t straight were off?

Mickey can’t tell if Ian is flirting with him out of genuine interest or just to be a cocky asshole. Either way, he’s not falling for it. Fuck him for thinking just because he’s a prince that Mickey will fall into bed with him. Sure Ian doesn’t seem all bad and is definitely less irritating than the other Gallaghers. And sure Mickey gets this annoying, fluttery feeling in his chest whenever the fucker smiles at him. But whatever, it doesn’t mean anything.

The ship ends up sinking of course, due to some sort of accident. Everyone makes it onto a lifeboat except Mickey. The worst part? He never learned to properly swim. Ian, having ended up in his own lone lifeboat, spots Mickey struggling in the water and quickly rows over to his aid, grabbing him and pulling him onto the lifeboat.

The tides separate Ian and Mickey from the others. They eventually find themselves on a small tropical island. And there are no other people.

Ian is panicked. Having grown up as a royal, he never learned proper skills to survive in a situation like this. Mickey, however, has grown up teaching himself survival skills and sets out to work on getting them shelter and food. He includes Ian in on all his plans because, as annoying as the guy may be, he did save Mickey from drowning and Mickey supposes he owes him for that. And right now, all they had was each other.

They eventually get themselves a pretty decent setup. They create a fort for them to sleep and take shelter from the sun in. There’s a stream a little further into the forest where they can get fresh water. And their diet consists of fish from the ocean, fruit, and small animals they hunt on the island. Mickey teaches Ian as they go.

Once the threat of death is for the most part evaded they begin to bond. After all, what else do they really have to do besides talk? Ian opens up to Mickey about the pressure he feels being a closeted gay man in the royal family. And eventually, tells Mickey his biggest secret-he isn’t really King Francis’ son.

Mickey in turn tells Ian about his life growing up under Terry’s thumb and his own dark secret. About how Terry once caught him with a boy when he was a teenager and was nearly beat to death.

Horrified by Mickey’s story, Ian makes a silent vow that, if they ever got off the island, he would come out to the public and use his fame and image to become an activist for gay kids who could be suffering the way Mickey did.

Mickey for his part makes a promise to himself that if he got off the island, he would finally leave Terry behind once and for all and make a new life for himself. Even if it means leaving the south side.

Months go by and they of course begin to fall in love. And both of them start to wonder…maybe being on the island isn’t all that terrible. It somehow becomes a solace and escape from the drama of their normal lives. And here, it’s just the two of them. They can finally be themselves.

They do eventually get discovered and rescued. The news of Prince Ian Gallagher being found alive on an island months after the family’s yacht sank becomes huge news. And Mickey somehow gets painted as a hero-the ordinary citizen who helped their beloved prince survive months on an uninhabited island. The Gallaghers are so grateful to Mickey for keeping Ian alive that they give him a large sum of money. Mickey doesn’t want to accept it at first but Ian convinces him to use the money to begin building his new life away from Terry.

Ian and Mickey reluctantly go their separate ways. No matter how they feel about each other, Ian is a prince and has an image to uphold. Mickey knows that Ian already has enough shit to deal with being closeted and having to keep his true parentage under wraps. The last thing he needs is to be tied to a south side thug. It’s better for them to say goodbye, or so he tells himself.

Some time goes by and Ian eventually reaches his breaking point. He misses Mickey and, as much as he loves his family, he’s never fully fit in the royal life anyway. He finally does what he promised himself while on the island and writes and publishes an article where he comes out as gay. And at the end of the article, he officially announces his intent to abdicate his title of prince.

Though Ian never name drops Mickey in the article, a lot of the public had already romanticized their relationship from the island story and assume Ian is abdicating so he can be with him.

Mickey is sitting in his new apartment and watching the news. His jaw drops when he see’s a story about the famed Prince Ian Gallagher coming out as gay and leaving the royal life behind. But before he has a chance to fully react, there’s a knock on his front door.

Ian is at the door. And he smiles at Mickey before asking if his apartment has enough room for two.

What is a zine?

A fanzine is a collaboratively-published magazine of fanworks. It can include art, writing, and many other kinds of creative work. 

What is this zine about?

Tea, Toast & Ghosts is a character- and ship-neutral celebration of the Lockwood & Co fandom, meaning you can submit both gen and ship-related ideas. It is also open to both book and show canon, meaning there will be spoilers for show-only fans. 

This issue’s theme will be:

“What’s your favorite part of Lockwood & Co.?” with a twist. We challenge you to frame your piece as something you might see in one of the gossip magazines Lockwood loves to read in his free time.

What will the format of this zine be in?

This zine will be made available as a free digital PDF, set in single-page, portrait A4 pages. We will also have a text-only accessible version made available for blind and low-vision fans.

What will be the rating for this zine?

This zine will be SFW, and will allow submissions rated from G up to PG-13.

Where can I apply?

Applications are open until 21st August. Our schedule can be found here.

We ask that you include three proposals for your piece in your application, so that we can see how well it goes with the zine concept, and to make sure there aren’t too many of the same ideas among different contributors. We will confirm the idea proposals with applicants only after they have been accepted as a zine contributor so these do not need to be final.

Who can apply?

Anyone interested, regardless of previous experience in zines or other related projects, may apply as a contributor.

All applicants will be expected to include a working link to their portfolio (art account, writing account, or other examples of your work), so we can have a better understanding of who they are and what they may create for the zine.

Can I submit something I’ve already started working on or finished as part of my idea proposals?

Yes, so long as it is something you haven’t posted or shared publicly already. However, we recommend that you tailor your proposals so that they fit our concept and theme for this zine. New and unfinished works will be given priority.

I have only read the Lockwood & Co books / only watched the TV series. Can I still apply?

Yes, you can. However, we expect that there will be spoilers for both the books and show in the zine. We recommend that you complete both series before applying.

What are contributors expected to create? 

We will be accepting several different forms of original, fannish work. A non-exhaustive list of examples can be found in the Contributor Guidelines.

Are all Lockwood & Co characters allowed?

Yes! We welcome both book and show interpretations of any Lockwood & Co characters.

Are collaborations allowed?

Yes! The zine is open to collaborations, but between confirmed contributors only. Collaborators will be expected to communicate well amongst themselves so they can deliver their zine pieces on time.

An individual contributor may also create a multi-media piece that involves both writing and artistic aspects.

Any content that is strictly prohibited?

Content may be evaluated and rejected on a case-by-case basis by the mod team. The following are not allowed:
