Calvin definitely could’ve been, my own thing is like the fanon versions made with headcanons is way better tbh than the show version of him. He’s way more cooler in fics and some ideas I have for him along with what you guys come up with here, Also whoever in the writing room thought it would’ve been a good idea for him in the show to dump Hayley and go with Sarah originally needs to probably not work on PR relationships because that would’ve been really scummy as hell, also the fact that they made the black girl apologize for him being a bad boyfriend was…yeah lets keep the character for ourselves cause idk what the hell they were on in the Neo Saban era🤦��😭😭

i'm a woman with substance use disorder. i didn't get sober through some grand noble journey to Get Better (not that there's a single thing wrong with that!). how i got sober differed depending on the substance. one medication, for a long time i kept stringing psychiatrists along and eventually was unable to keep getting my prescription, and i was going through a string of moves so i was unable to get it off the street, so getting off it wasn't really a choice (i do have one dose left though, i hold onto it just to feel like i have the option to use it if i need). another medication, i still have a prescription for but the comedown was getting so brutal that i just couldn't handle it anymore, so i don't often get the urge to use it because i know what fresh hell is waiting for me on the other side. i did used to have a daily weed use habit, but as i got older i my allergy to it randomly got worse so i had to stop that too. drinking i still struggle with, i binge every single time, but tbh nowadays i'm too lazy to keep up on my stock so the problem is more under control. all this to say, i guess my advice is to try to make it as inconvenient as possible to use, for me that's a big deterrent. you could also try to allow yourself use but on a very strict schedule, like only on a certain day(s) or only x number of times a week. PLEASE remember to ask yourself H.A.L.T. (are you Hungry? Angry? Lonely? Tired?), it helped me address some of the underlying causes of my use which helped me reduce it. i've heard people who swear up and down by AA or NA or groups like that. they have a big religion component and the men there can be scummy but having that support and a social group can make a world of difference, for me it was a general group therapy group. i do also think there's something that can happen to addicts where we can become addicted to being sad/suffering, like there's an edginess to it that makes you feel smarter and cooler and more honest than everyone else, like no one else Gets the Depth Of Being Human and they're all naive and etc. no one likes to talk about it but it's true, and acknowledging that i was in love with being at my lowest really called me out on my own shit. i'm keeping you in my thoughts and wishing you the absolute best luck, it'll suck so hard but it's 1000% worth it <333 ily

oh my god thank you so much this actually already helps a lot! and yeah there is such an identity component to drug use many dont talk about… its true. i mean my therapist will help me to get in some sort of program so i really do have access to resources and shit and i think going to a clinic is not the issue but life after… i have tried going sober several times and always had some sort of yoyo effect basically. i also dont just struggle with substances but other addictions and lack of impulse control too. and ive tried doing it in moderation but it never works out longterm. the HALT tip is actually gold, thank you thank you thank you for sharing and your advice and your kind words it means a lot! 🩷

Imo it's ironic when mm people get up in arms about alpha skin details when it's like... most of the kid/toddler clothes I've seen that registered as age inappropriate to me has been mm (altho my mama was old-school so I personally see things like crop tops for kids/toddlers as too much). Yeah I agree tbh, I mean I see the adultification of child sims from both sides so there's no need to just vilify alpha simmers for it. To me it's a little bit how alpha simmers have also been almost universally pinned as the villains of the paywall debate despite many mm creators also doing scummy shit or even doxxing and getting away with it. But I still barely see anyone talking about that vs alphas perma-paywalling. I don't think it's intentional but I do think black ppl get criticized more harshly whatever they do and there's a higher amount of black alpha simmers bc its been very hard to find cc for us in mm style for a very long time. My one “crackpot” theory (that I think fits in with your corporate meddling thing) about SM2 is that shifting back to the science focus in the second game was what marvel/execs wanted and not really the writers. I read recently that was the case with the spidey 2017 animated show where last minute they had to implement the “science” aspect for it all and that hugely fucked up it’s development. Considering how much they were foreshadowing it in other stuff I think they did want to have it on longer but those restraints. But that’s just me.

Tho tbh I’m not as mad about teacher Peter being there. I think re: the games ideas on balance I understand is why they did it as such. But it was still def such a bummer it did not last long as it did.

Oh you mean the whole EMF thing? I dunno, to me it feels like it's integrated well into the story and ties back into the research stations from the first game, so it didn't seem to be shoehorned in like whatever the hell was going on with msm2017. I've heard that the production of the show was an absolute mess - corporate meddling, lack of communication with the animation studio, last minute changes - everything that can ruin a project.

Now, the show isn't That terrible, but I personally didn't like it. I even had a critique about the portrayal of Peter as a stereotypical nerd trope that constantly uses technobabble, but didn't watch the show till the end, so I ditched it.

Anyway, I did expect Peter to lose his job as a teach, but it's pretty unfortunate that they kept alluding to it throughout the first game and MM, and it led to nothing but a set piece that was quickly forgotten.

However, I'd like if Jason Schreier did his thing and sat down with some of the developers or writers (anonymously, of course) to make an interview with them. I want to know what was going on behind the scenes. In the gaming sphere, he's usually the go-to investigative journalist who uncovers scummy working conditions in AAA studios.

It’s officially been over a year since I tried to get help for my BPD thru the medical system.

I tried to do an inpatient program that was 5 days a week for like 3 hours a day or something. And it took me like 4-5 months to even get in bc bitches weren’t picking up the phone or unresponsive. And after months of perseverance I finally got in and I was so excited to start.

But ofc it was a hot mess bc any mental care thru my insurance is hot garbage. Had I stayed longer I prob wudve been more fucked up tbh. I was only there for like 3 weeks max lol.

Like they literally wud treat u like ur a threat the moment u walk in. Also cold as hell. Clinical, not human to human. And straight up was like ya btw we work very closely with the police just so you know <3. Like just that comment Made me want to fight this bitch lmao. And one of the therapists literally said “that’s hot” when one of the patients disclosed with him that she thinks she’s a lesbian…like is this even real.

Ugh there was so much more fucked up shit (too much to write rn) but I left as soon as I realized how bad it was. And I thought oh Mayb I’m just giving up, Mayb it’s part of the process blah blah. But like there were too many concrete fuckery things going on I couldn’t stay.

That whole experience was so infuriatingly frustrating but honestly that was the last thing to finally seal in my head that this system cannot help me. I’ve tried so much in a decade and ultimately was only able to get help through alternative ways. Like my therapist doesn’t even take insurance and I hav to pay out of pocket but it’s worth it for sure.

So as awful as it all was I’m glad it happened bc now I kno for a FACT that this medical system is simply not here to help me and many many others. In fact they want us all dead.

Anyway I feel like this is why ppl w/BPD have such high suicide rates . Bc I kno compared to NPD or ASPD ppl w/BPD tend to actually seek help on their own. But the system is literally so hostile and there’s only so many tries in you especially when you’re already down.

But u kno what, I remember feeling so hopeless after that shit didn’t work out but over this past year I can confidently say that I’m better than ever. I still have years and years of work to do to ultimately get into remission but I feel hopeful. I think when all ur expectations just fully crumble, u have to be creative in order to move on after that initial shock. And finding ur own solutions can be empowering in its own ways.

And just to b clear I’m not promoting fixing urself alone without any help ever. But I’m more so saying that the medical system does not have the tools to support us and in fact they are actively harming us.

Mayb this is more of a warning rant. Everyone stay safe. Even tho it’s hard to trust ur own emotions and thoughts, find ways to vet ppl out that are mental health professionals. Bc there’s a lot of scummy bitches out there..

villains always had ulterior motives as to why they committed their crimes. shigaraki wanted to see the fall of a society, overhaul wanted to rule the crime empire as it was, but katsuki’s motive was quite simple. it was fun to be a little shit to heroes who think they knew what they were doing. and so what if those heroes were cute little things, trying to do what’s right in a world fraught with chaos. it made him scoff. as if their small actions would even make a difference anyways.

when he set his sights on you, his heart thrummed with excitement as he took you in up and down. adorable little thing you were, excited to make a difference and protect the world and inspire us all. whenever you had a run in with katsuki, he teased you in between your punches and attempts to catch him. like a deadly game of cat and mouse, you were always at each other’s throats. you hated how his smooth words made your cheeks warm and your words stutter. he had such an effect on you, it was almost charming.

Hey Archer, do you think all the Enchantés will pursue Theo just because he's the university chancellor's son and therefore they all want some kind of a benefit by cosying up to him? Because I definitely got those vibes from most of them in ep 2, and I see other people bring up the same thing. Tbh that gives me mixed feelings because on one hand I'm glad there won't be 4 heartbroken people in the end (when Theo inevitably gets with Akk) but on the other what they're doing is so scummy, like... I might end up lowkey hating all of them just for pretending they have feelings for Theo. (Speaking of, I already don't like Phupha because he's acting way too creepy for my taste 😬 )

Theo and Akk are so goddamn cute tho, I love them, especially Akk. 😭❤️ The flirting between the two is already off the charts and I love it.

hey!! yes, i definitely think they all have ulterior motives. i gotta talk about this more at some point, but essentially i am pretty sure they are all what the rose in the little prince was at her core - superficial, selfish, and vain. which is certainly not the intended reading of the little prince, but who cares? enchante is a reimagining of it, where the little prince stays with the fox.

so yeah, they all have something to gain here - some more obvious (like saifah, who needs to become popular and will try to do it through theo), some less obvious (like wtf is natee's deal? certainly something, we just don't quite know what yet). and yes, i absolutely agree that phupha is creepy as all hell. and i think theo will be kind of charmed by all of them (it's hard not to be - i mean, a man with gawin caskey's face will write a song for him, who wouldn't be charmed by that?), but all these gestures that no doubt all four enchantes will make are nothing more than smoke and mirrors and - at their core - are quite devoid of meaning and done for selfish gain. and so in contrast with that, akk's small but honest and heartfelt gestures will be clear signs of his true feelings. "i should have based my judgment upon deeds and not words" - that's a little prince quote, and i think theo will understand it better at the end of all this.

Several hours after waking up to this news here are more prescient personal thoughts on it:

The worst one to me is Eddie Fender. This is just lazy to me. "Hi my name is Defence Attorney" no sorry it's absolutely hilarious when it's Deid Mann because that guy's been dead for years and isn't really an actual character so you can get away with that but this is like. This is Gregory's little guy. I have to run around with 18yo "Defender" ?????? No. And not only that but in conjunction with all the localization re: the era of the og triliogy through aai2 (yes i know aa4 came out first but in terms of the time period w/in the games) the convention was kind of always for the main characters specifically to be like [normal human name] [name that is possibly less normal but still plausible and also a big pun]. Like other than Phoenix and Dick, everyone else literally just has Some Guy names that aren't necessarily punny or dual meaning on their own--and *besides* that those are both still names AND they stand alone separately from their surnames (and vice versa) so it takes away nothing to only say "Mr. Wright", "Det. Gumshoe"--so making this (Ed)die-Fender pun *rely* on his entire full name back to back just doesn't fit to me, stylistically. I could write an essay on why Shields is the PERFECT name to play off who he is and who he is in relation to the Edgeworths but whatever. He deserves better. Also him having a more "serious" name that is nicknamed to something less so is important to me personally and you don't get that at ALL with Eddie sorry. Uncle Ray supremacy.

Then Eustace Winner lol. I. Like okay the thing is i actually can totally see him being a Eustace lmao and I'm biased bc Eustace Narnia is my fav earthborn Narnia character and I do enjoy that both he and Seb have huge character growth arcs in the form of becoming more mature and realizing how the world actually works and their places in it, so that's fine with me other than he's still Sebastian in my mind because that's his name lmao. But Winner? Straight up? Not anything clever or fun or whimsical to it??? Winner????? And honestly??? That doesn't even feel like the right vibe. He (and Blaise who I'm suddenly realizing also will have a different given name augh) don't really care about WINNING so much as being. Well. The best. Lol. And obviously I've only seen the fan translation, but tbh it undermines them as characters if their focus is about *Winning*? That's von Karma's whole deal, we already have that, and I think having the struggle with prosecutorial legacy and shit be similar but not The Same is so much more meaningful. Seb isn't like Franz or Miles!! So his arc isn't the exact same either!! It's not about the Perfect Spotless Record to Blaise, it's about the control and the power to not have to give a shit how scummy he comes off. So. Idk "Winner" also feels lazy to me.

Unfortunately for my hater sensibilities I actually think Verity Gavèlle fits her quite nicely lmao. I mean Justine Courtney is a superb 10/10 name and fits her to a T already but I do think out of everyone in the main cast of 2 this is FAR AND AWAY the best name choice, period. If they had to change it, then this actually both feels like they tried and also like it fits her character and thematically (i still think they're cowards for not committing to the bit of the fan translation like can you imagine that's a fucking phenomenal story idk I know i can't expect a corporation to care about that). I have less to say because this bothers me less but I do find it interesting to use the accent grave on the surname but name her Verity instead of Vérité? If you're already there? Although idk is Gavèlle even a real name maybe it's not French lol. Though Verity comes from there so..... whatever. Anyway fun of them to name her after my 13th age character who's named after French Trucy :3

Aside from them, I have Fear about whatever the hell they'll choose to be Simon Keyes' name, like. I figured out of everyone they'd be most pressed to rename him and Courtney since they've officially used both Simon and Courtney in the series before (actually I think Courtney twice? Definitely in tgaa but wasn't the teacher in dd named that too? idk it's been a while)

And the last thing I'll give them credit for is from the trailer it seems like Nicole Swift's surname is now Lloyd and I actually think if her name's like Tabitha Lloyd or something like that now that's actually a major pun Improvement, so well done, they've got one star from me for this lmao. That's most likely all they're gonna get, but it's something.

ANYWAY!! That's my long ass hater rant of reasons why the aai2 Capcom names aren't real (they are) and can't hurt me (they do). In non hater news, I am STOKED they're finally FINALLY releasing internationally, and the UI and quality of life updates look awesome I am most excited about those of anything.

How the Avengers would react if you flinched when they tried to touch you..😭

I have been dealing with the aftermath of domestic violence for a couple years now, and with intense PTSD and panic disorder, this was so calming to think about tbh.

Tony Stark: Oh gods, he would notice, with immense distaste. He would probably hesitate to touch you afterward, but he would be gentle about talking to you about it, and would reassure you over and over that you’re safe, and that nobody will ever hurt you again. He may also ask for addresses and names, just because he’s..well, he’s Tony. He’s got the power to do crazy shit. And if he cares about you, can you imagine what he would do to someone that hurt you? My sweet man.

Steve Rogers: He would be horrified that you would ever think he would hurt you. He would probably tell anyone else in the room to get lost and sit you down and just hold you, telling you that you’re safe with him always, that nobody will ever hurt you again. He wouldn’t push you to talk about it, but if you wanted to, he would listen. He’s not one to reveal his anger as easily as Tony or Buck, but it would break his heart to hear about it, that’s for sure. He would leave the killing to Bucky and Loki tbh, but he might join in too. Maybe.

Bucky Barnes: He might be hurt, physically, that you would think he would hurt you, but he wouldn’t be surprised at the action. He was a scary guy, at one point or another, but he would gently pull you in against him and squeeze you so tight you couldn’t breathe, maybe even sway with you for a while until you felt better. And then, he’d blow up, ask who the fucker is, where they are, and wouldn’t take no for an answer. He would be on a death mission with only one thing in mind, and that’s keeping you safe. That’s all he cares about.

Thor: Honestly, he might not catch on at first, because he probably doesn’t see domestic violence as much at home, but after you explain it to him or get emotional, he would want to understand what he did wrong. He doesn’t seem like the type to push you, but he does seem like the type to go in to hold you, maybe run his fingers down your back, and just kinda curl himself around you protectively. He would probably bring you to get food too, and maybe ice cream to cheer you up.

Loki: OKAY so the tough one. On one hand, he may understand why you might flinch around him, but boy would he explode once you told him it wasn’t from him, but from..someone else. Holy shit he would be a time bomb. Who is it? Where are they? Do they have a DEATH WISH? He would slide those daggers out like nothing and call Bucky to assist him. He’s out for fucking blood. He would probably leave Thor to babysit you in the meantime lol.

Bruce Banner: Soft boy would be HORRIFIED. He would get it because the green guy can scare people sometimes, but of him? Oh no. He would bring you somewhere quiet and make you a cup of tea and just kinda talk to you gently about it, rubbing your shoulder when it gets tough. He’d probably also put a movie on afterward and just hold you, just to remind you that you’re safe with him. He’s definitely a snuggler.

Natasha Romanoff: She would be joining Bucky and Loki. Someone HURT YOU? Death, on the spot. Of course she would want to understand what happened and if you’re alright, and she would probably just talk to you one on one if you needed it, but she would give you her full attention. And then afterward, she would be joining those boys on a death mission. Those three, as a group, with Wanda too? And CAROL? I mean, RIP whoever decided to lay a hand on you.

Clint Barton: Oh he would be HARDCORE concerned. What do you mean you’re gonna flinch when he raises his arm? Why? He would bring you in the kitchen and force you to talk to him about whatever the hell that was while he makes you a grilled cheese. I mean, what kinda sick fuck hurts someone like that for no singular reason? He’s such a dad, but he’s got your back, always.

Wanda Maximoff: I’d tell her literally all my deepest secrets. She would never take anything personally, but she would be upset that someone blatantly hurt you. Why would they hurt this small, ordinary human? Absolutely not alright. She would hold you for however long you wanted and then make you some good food for dinner while she made you laugh. When you went to bed, though..like I said, she would be joining the death party. Sorry.

Pietro Maximoff: PIEEEEEETRO. He would be so confused, and unsure of what to do, but he would probably blatantly ask you if you wanted the person to die like it’s a normal question, like “hey what’s for dinner?” Yeah, like that. He would make a big blanket fort with snacks and soft blankets and hold you until you fell asleep, and wouldn’t sleep a wink, keeping watch over you the entire night. He’s ✨soft✨.

Vision: He would try so hard to understand what the fuck is going on, but his mind would have a hard time processing why the fuck some idiot would ever hurt you. Why? For what purpose? Even after explaining it, he would probably just be infuriated, no matter what you say. How could they do this to you? Those assholes. He would probably offer a hug, or something to eat to make you feel better, but he would be plotting their demise. Guaranteed.

Carol Danvers: She would start a full out war, given the circumstances. How dare some scummy human being hurt you? She would show them, and make it the worst day of their lives. No matter how much you tried to calm her down, she would be out for blood. No way this woman would NOT be are you KIDDING? She’s too spicy for that.

Sam Wilson: He would also be another one I would tell literally anything to. He would be incredulous that you would ever think he would hurt you, but man would he pay attention when you told him. All that man would do is pull you into his arms, hug you as tightly as he can, and tell you everything is alright now, he would never let them hurt you again, and that he loves you. Sammy just seems like a guy that would tell you he loves you during something traumatic like that.

Doctor Stephen Strange: Another one that wouldn’t quite know how to react. He would probably be confused, at first, and then deeply concerned for you once he caught on, and would probably ask to speak to you about it whenever you were ready. He would probably mention that you can come by later to his room to talk about it when everyone else is asleep so it’s a calmer atmosphere, and would probably rub your shoulder as he passes you, but that’s it. And that’s enough.

Peter Parker: My devastated little bean. He would be WILDLY apologetic, thinking he did something wrong, and just saying he’s sorry over and over and wondering what he did wrong and how to fix it, but then when you explain, he wouldn’t be so..apologetic. Peter would probably order a pizza and pull you onto the couch with him and let you choose a movie, and just let you curl in against him. He would probably fall asleep with you, too, while Tony has to pay for the damn pizza.

T’Challa: Um..tbh I feel like he would be furious, in a plainly way to put it. That guy has venom in his eyes every time he’s on screen, and this wouldn’t make him feel any better. Of course he would move to comfort you first, but that man is a whole king. You think he wouldn’t do something about it? Say goodbye to whoever hurt you. He would take them off the map.

Scott Lang: He would probably joke about it at first and think you’re just messing around, but he would be absolutely devastated when you get upset over it. He would be HORRIFIED that he upset you, and would probably try desperately to talk to you about it, or try to make you feel better. He would probably end up getting knocked out by Sam or Bucky, but he would welcome it after that lol.

Valkyrie: She would not probably comment on it until you guys were alone, because she might think it’s a private matter for you and she would respect your boundaries, but if you got seriously upset on the spot she would probably pull you into a hug and yell for everyone to get the fuck out. She wouldn’t make you talk about it, but she would know when you needed to be alone, so she would make sure you got the time you needed. If you needed her afterward, she would be there.

Groot: I AM GROOT. That is all.

Rocket: A lot like Antman and Thor, he would probably joke about it or think you weren’t being serious at first, but after you were, man he would be upset for you. He would probably comfort you by telling you jokes to get you to laugh, or something, but in his mind he would probably be plotting the end of a pitiful human being far away.

Gamora: She wouldn’t let that shit go, no sir. She wouldn’t pester you, but man she would want to know what the hell that was about, and what stupid, God forsaken bastard decided that you were a punching bag. Not on her watch. Be prepared to tell her, because she won’t let anything like that go. I don’t make the rules.

Peter Quill: Idk if he really knows how to be serious at..serious times..maybe? Anyway, he would make sure to never move that sharply around you again, and wouldn’t say anything about it unless you wanted to talk to him about it. He might ask the others what was going on with you, but he’s not the type to show that he cares about a lot of shit. Sorry, Quill.

James Rhodes: He is such a dad lol. He would be taken back by the action, don’t get me wrong, but he also wouldn’t be one to let it go. Who is it? What happened? He might not be aggressive about it like the others, but he would want to know that they are long gone now, and he would remind you that you’re safe.

Nebula: Ah shit, what did she do wrong now? That’s it. Haha.

Baron Zemo: Who the fuck was it? Who the FUCK hurt you? Oh no, Zemo would be out for blood. He wouldn’t need a team, or partners in the quest, nah, he would be going alone and would scare that bastard in their beds in the night. DING DONG, it’s the boogeyman, I’m here to end you for your bullshit choices.

Hope van Dyne: This badass Queen would not back down from asking you about what was wrong. Did someone in the compound hurt you? Did she have to kill them? But when you tell her, she would be horrified for you, and offer to hurt the person that hurt you. An eye for an eye, right? Up to you.

Drax: Do they need to die? He would do it for you. No charge.

Mantis: She would read you like an open book the second you flinched, so don’t try to deny it, or say that it was just a reflex. She would probably have a detox night and make nachos with you and throw on some comedy movie she heard about from Rocket. She wouldn’t let you hurt on your own. She would be there.

Wong: UGH what a GUY. He would probably make you some soup because it’s the ultimate comfort food and talk about it together. He wouldn’t get agitated, or force you to open up too much, but he would offer his company and his attention as long as you wanted it.

Okoye: She would probably be with T’Challa tbh. Sorry. She would be out for some tucking vengeance.

Shuri: She would be the one to bring you along with her somewhere private, wrap you in a blanket, and hold your hand as she urged you to tell her what the hell that was. She would be one of the best at comforting, and afterward she would show you around her collection of inventions to make you forget about that stupid, repulsive human being.

Pepper Potts: Someone..HURT YOU? Oh no. She would go right to Tony with it and demand that the two of them do something to avenge you. There is absolutely no way that she would let that slide. She would also make you your favorite food, some warm cookies, and get a bath going for you to help soothe you.

Korg: Dude is made of rocks. ROCKS. You expect him to understand what the fuck is going on? He would probably get a video game going to let you release some anger and ask Thor for help in the meantime.
