seth would never admit it, as it was incredibly cheesy and would embarrass him greatly to say out loud, but waking up to see you by his side never failed to make his heart flutter. gently, he'd nuzzle slightly into you before untangling his limbs from yours and the both of you would start your morning routines.

another noticeable trait you'd become familiar with was that seth didn't dare stray from your side for too long. of course, he was respectable and would give you space and privacy but otherwise he needed you to be in his line of sight. it was more for his peace of mind and he seriously meant no harm, so you allowed him.

he waited patiently for you to finish up your usual routine before following you toward the kitchen. occasionally, seth would wake up earlier just to be up to make you breakfast but nowadays he enjoyed your company more so - although he still wants to sometimes but leaving you alone in the morning is a difficult task.

seth would stand right beside you, helping you with whatever you wanted to do and eagerly listening to you, he really only wanted to help you.

you need him to go grab something? done. need him to make something? he'll try his best. simply want some affection? your going to have to pry him off so you can leave the house.

seth would also have quite the habit of giving you constant reminders. you swore he knew your schedule and tasks better than you did. they were all gentle reminders to make sure you got the best start to your day. even sometimes he got carried away and would start telling you about his plans, or even something he thought to do, just the two of you.

and as you both approached the front door, you gave seth one final kiss on his cheek. some form of goodbye that never failed to leave his tail furiously wagging. as soon as either of you would open that door, you two would have to go your separate lives until both of you arrived home later in the evening - although occasionally visiting the other at work wasn't entirely uncommon.

every morning ran like this. a blissful routine that the pair of you could always trust.

Andrei wasn’t jealous. Not at all. 

Did his chest feel tight? Full of some cold, bitter feeling that made him want to rip open his own ribs and pull out his thumping heart? And did he kind of feel like breaking something with his bare hands? Maybe even break multiple things? Maybe scream while he was at it? 

Yeah, a little. 

But that didn’t mean he was jealous. 

It just meant that he was watching from the other side of the room as the bartender shamelessly flirted with you as he poured two glasses of wine that were meant for you and him. Not you and this chatty bartender who had been eyeing you like you were a piece of meat he wanted to feast on. 

And look, Andrei trusted you. He knew whatever was happening on the other side at that bar was not being reciprocated. But you were kind and sweet and a little naive, and sometimes things like this—like a man shamelessly flirting with you—tended to go over your head. 

God knows it had taken months before you finally realised the countless moves he had made on you.

But Andrei simply reached for the glasses, placing them on the table before tugging you down onto his lap. 

“Woah,” you let out a startled laugh, your cheeks burning a little. “Babe, this doesn't feel appropriate for a charity gala.”

“I don’t care,” Andrei shrugged, wrapping his arms around you to keep you on his lap.

Seth snorted. “He’s jealous.”

Woke up listening to the Bittersweet sleep aid (aka: Hot boy sandwich) so,,, I guess it's time for sleep HCs with Seth, Sugarboo and Alphonse!!!

All three have nightmares to varying degrees. Seth is the only one who actually talks about his. Alphonse just shrugs them off and accepts them as part of life, and Sugarboo tries to hide the fact that they have them in the first place.

All three snore, Seth is just the only one who admits it

Seth talks in his sleep. Alphonse and Sugarboo both take full advantage of this.

Sugarboo is almost always in the middle of the hot boy sandwich, and they like it that way.

Alphonse has a whole skincare routine he does before bed, and he sleeps with an eye mask on.

Alphonse is sensitive to light. Sugarboo is sensitive to sound. Seth is sensitive to nothing and sleeps like a fucking rock.

Alphonse is a blanket hog.

Sugarboo has constantly cold feet and is constantly rubbing them together like a lil cricket

Seth keeps his hand under Sugarboo's shirt most of the time (in a totally nonsexual way). He keeps his hands on their stomach, hip, back, anywhere he can keep them that doesn't wake them up.

Sugarboo usually wakes up first. They either get to work on breakfast (because Alphonse and Seth can't be trusted in the kitchen) or stay for extra cuddles to start their day.

Sugarboo moves a lot in their sleep, and will sometimes accidentally smack one or both of their boys in the face. (Or kick 'em straight in the balls)

Before the purchase of a bigger bed, someone always ended up on the floor come morning.

They have matching yet different build-a-bear plushies. Sugarboo's is a white bear that smells like strawberries. Alphonse's is a purple axolotl that smells like lavender. Seth's is the mothman.

The foxes would not survive. By that point Dan and Matt had become parental figures in the form of best friends. They would see the quiet places Neil used to occupy and see it empty. No more little quips or questions would come from it. Matt would start sleeping in the girls room again because his room is too quiet. Seth and Neil both dead within the span of 8 months. Their empty beds would be a constant reminder that he couldn't deal with. Allison would lean on Renee like she did with Seth. Nicky would still be the connection the monsters have to the upperclassmen. He would keep them updated if Renee or Dan asked how they were doing but he would stay by them for the company only. Aaron and Andrew are quiet in their grief. Aaron would see how Neil's death effected his brother, but wouldn't understand anything more than Andrew lost someone he said he would protect. He would see what would happen if he left his brother. Kevin would be plagued with the truth. He would know the intimate details of how Neil was taken apart, even if they weren't true. He'd remember seeing Neil's father in the Evermore tower and his brain would supply images of Neil in this position. He'd go to Wymack and ask why a father would do such a thing, asking if Wymack would do it to him. Wymack would put the peices together and discover his long lost son in the form of a drunken striker grieving the loss of a brother. Wyamck should have been used to it. Hed lost all of his first pick foxes. Whether it was due to drugs, suicide, or something else. They were all gone. He had high hopes for Neil. Starting as a runaway with trust issues but made connections in the team. He pulled everyone together after Seths death. He pushed the team to be better. He even got through to Wymacks most difficult player. Andrew. Andrew. Andrew would barely make it. He would retreat into himself, allowing his apathy to take full control and let himself drown in his memories. He'd stop going to Wednesday meetings with Bee. Stop responding at all. The monsters would lose him. Renee would find him at the court starting at the pictures on the wall, trying to remind himself that Neil existed and he wasn't a hallucination that he clung to desperately trying to be seen. Neil existed. He was right here, documented on the walls of the Foxhole Court. Andrew contemplates suicide on more than one occasion. First was about a week after Neil's death. There was no funeral. Nothing. No one even acknowledged it other than to say the Foxes forfitted championships to the Ravens. But then Aaron came back and asked if he was going to return to Wednesday meetings with Bee, reminding Andrew of his promises. The next time was after graduation, Aaron going off to Med School and Kevin safe with his father as he played professional Exy. Andrew had gotten his degree, but it didn't mean anything to him. There was nothing for him left in the world. Aaron dropped him immediately and Kevin didn't hold up his end of the bargain. Bee kept telling him things would get easier over time, but that was a lie too. But then Renee texted him asking to meet up for lunch. She asked what his first memory was. He didn't hide, didn't sugar coat anything for her, told her the cold hard truth. Renee wasn't expecting the accuracy of his memory. Then she asked if he killed himself, how would Neil's memory live on? The pictures would eventually be covered up at the court, he would be forgotten in exy. That's when Andrew decided he'd live, if only for Neil's memory to live on with him.

Getting dressed for the day you talked yourself through every step of what would be required today.

“Boys are eating breakfast, once they are dressed we will hop in the van and drive the hour to Costco. We will get lunch there and stock up on everything we need. The Fisher children will arrive tomorrow. I can make it one more day. Need to remind them to leave the old house alone and the men who apparently have no social media at all.”

You mentally re-evaluated the complete lack of information you could find as you put your earrings in. The house had been bought via a trust with no names attached and the public records you could access had no information on full names. John had given only first names for him and each of his..his men? Why did that feel right? Kyle, Johnny, and Simon all shifted with or in reaction to him. The dynamic matched what you had seen from groups of children with a clear ring leader.

Sounds of your boys shouting tumbled up the stairs at you. With a sigh, you set about corralling the boys into clothes and into the car. Seth argued with you the entire hour-long drive that he was big enough to sit in the front seat now. He had been gunning for that position of privilege for months now. While he had reached the height and weight requirements you held firm that the law also stated no one under the age of twelve could sit in the front seat. You didn’t follow to many rules in life, but the safety of your boys? That always came paramount.

Several hundred dollars and a gas tank filled later every one of the kids fell asleep as you hummed along to your playlist that you could listen with them in the car. You were a playlist fiend, and your friends wondered how you managed to find what you were looking for each time you opened your music app. None of them quite understood you had a system and the intricate naming system of your playlists (that were sorted alphabetically so you could find them, mind you) helped you find exactly what you needed.

When you finally pull into your driveway one of the new neighbors is running down your street. Johnny, if you remember right. Waving to him as you stepped from the van you headed for the rear door. Crunching gravel under running shoes alerted you to the fact Johnny had paused his run to come and talk to you. Turning your head you smiled at him, the man didn’t even look winded.

“Nice run?” You pull out your first box packed with food items.

“Yeah, good area for it. The paths that spiral out from the house make me want to pick up trail running.” Johnny pulls the box from your hands and starts up the path to your front door.

With a shrug, entirely too used to men taking things from you in their efforts to affirm their masculinity, you grab a second box and follow the man wearing shorts that should be illegal for how good they make his thighs look. Setting the box down you pull out your keys and unlock the front door. Johnny waits until you have picked your box back up and leads the way into the house before he joins you.

Settling your groceries on the table beside the kitchen you gesture for Johnny to do the same. He does, his eyes scanning the photo-covered wall and the bright colors scattered through the space.

“They seem happy, your boys,” he looks at you with searching eyes.

“I would like to think they are, they are good kids even when they drive me batty.” Not terribly keen on continuing a conversation that came up in every biddies gossip circle with a new neighbor you head back to the car for the rest of the groceries.

Johnny follows and helps twice more with trips to move the half of the warehouse you had brought home with you. With a wave he starts off running again, you bet you would see him circle back soon enough. There was another connection to their road but it was over two miles before he would be able to cut over to it.

You carried Sam and Darren in and settled them on your bed. It seemed safer than hurting your back trying to deposit them on the bottom bunks of their respective beds. Seth and Reggie were much to big for you to carry anymore and you woke them as gently as you could, coaxing them along into the house. Summer had barely started but already it would be to hot to leave them to sleep in the car, even with the doors and windows open. They both whined at you for the rest of the afternoon until you finally shoved some controllers at them and let them play video games so you could put everything away and get started on dinner.

Bedtime came as a blessed relief and saw you collapsed onto the couch in the dark. When you woke the crick in your neck reminded you that grandpa naps would wreck you. Trudging up to bed your mind swirled with the tasks you would need to accomplish. Tomorrow, early, your rented dumpster would arrive and you could strip the rooms that needed insulating. Your hope was to finish ripping the walls out in two days and be able to schedule the sheet rock guys to come in next week.

The guys were at the house by nine am, fed and ready to put in a full day of work. Another day or so and John thought that they would have removed everything that had rotted out, been lived in by animals, or they simply did not wish to keep. Gaz queued up the playlist, the speaker set up in the entranceway to drift music through every corner of the house.

Several hours drifted by with the four of them tromping through the doors depositing chunks of plaster or dead rodents in the massive bin. When they broke for lunch Gaz got a notification on his phone. The guys had settled on the floor of the formal sitting room, their butt prints dotting the floor making John and Johnny laugh.

Gaz got a notification on his phone, the quiet ping saw him digging it out of his pocket. When he paused sandwich halfway to his mouth Simon glanced at him.

“How copy?”

“Our new neighbor is listening to some crazy stuff. Want me to link it so we can listen along?”

John pushed off the floor, knees popping as he stood fully. He brushed his hands along his butt to dislodge the dust; it didn’t help.

“I don’t care what you do as long as you keep working. I would rather not pay for the rental of the bin another day if we can help it.” John didn’t understand or care much about the fascination his men had started with you. He did wonder if this is how they acted off base and off jobs but decided as the stairs creaked below him that he didn’t actually want to know.

They had about an hour of variety, music swinging from Selena to Mumford and Sons until one deeply suggestive song began to repeat. And repeat. And repeat. And repeat.

John fed up with the creaking bed sounds drifting past him and aggravating his tinnitus, powered down the speaker. When no clomping steps or shouting voices alerted him to their joint displeasure John stepped out onto the porch. With no sign of his men, he let out a weary sigh.

“Fucking muppets are bothering the damn neighbor. Now I have to go save her from three men who want to know who she’s sleeping with at two in the afternoon.” With a shake of his head, John took off at a low jog to trail his men to your house and drag them back if need be.

One (slightly horrifying) thing I've learned from playing ZZZ is that the staff is VERY good at making characters that look one way but act in a completely unexpected way that has the ability to charm me.

For instance, before I started playing, I thought I wouldn't like Nicole. I thought she was going to be an overly shallow, snotty type that would be very "ohoho~" and annoying in a tropey way. And..she is "ohoho~" af but she's actually in a very delicate balancing act of being an absolute queen and a huge girlfailure and she steals the show whenever she's around. She's indeed vaguely all of the things you expect her to be but she does it in such a...charming way that she has me laughing and I'm ride or die w her now.

I didn't expect to like Lucy either! I thought she'd just be a normal tsundere but the one thing I've always really hated about typical tsunderes is their inability to be reasonable and how out of pocket they can be and Lucy...isn't like that. She's actually super reasonable and she sorta drives that ship. Calydon as a faction balances her traits out so well that when she barks orders it's like "ok yeah finally someone with common sense 😌✨️" if anything. She's still a princess-y tsundere but she missed the one trait I can't stand and that's kind of impressive to me tbh.

I didn't expect to dislike Seth per se but I didn't expect to like him that much either...he's a cop (his biggest sin) and he's...peppy. Which...isn't a sin...but it makes me (who is fucked up and evil) soooorta wish for him to uhh. break. 😇 Just a little bit! As a treat!! But he got me too okay....like fuuuck whatever! Whatever!!! Wet sad catboy with No Friends and his family problems that keep making him say "is my family normal? 🥺 it's normal right?" whateverrr!!! Just get in the car, loser!!! 🤧 god!!

I didn't think I'd like Harumasa! I have complete trust issues with characters that look like him! I expected him to be more of a ~sunshine on the outside but dark on the inside~ yandere-leaning kind of trope based on looks. But he's actually one of my favorite character archtypes instead...he's literally a sleepy guy with a billion nuanced problems and a fucked life. My favorite fucking food!! I owe you an apology, Mr. Harumasa!! I wasn't familiar with your game!!

But perhaps the most surprising twist of fate is me liking Wise. Like, I did NOT have high hopes for this boy, okay. I was NOT a believer. I didn't expect either one of them to have that much personality. When I first saw Wise's design with my working eyes I thought ZZZ devs fucking hated him. I thought he was going to be stale bread in terms of personality.
