in general i think thats what ace combat is good at. its realistic enough to not feel mindless but its arcadey enough to feel accessible. the music (usually) fits the scene so well and its so fuckin good too. the entire soundscape, between the music, the sound effects, and the radio chatter especially, just make everything feel so good to play

it all makes it so immersive!! i really FEEL like an ace combat!! and that feeling is multiplied tenfold when i shoot down a bunch of targets in quick succession or hit an optional objective and the game acknowledges it through radio chatter !! its just super rewarding to have your actions be acknowledged through the games systems...

and the radio chatter also just creates this hectic feeling but it also endears you to your squadmates and it ALSO gasses you the fuck up when youre late into the game and you can hear the enemies recognize you and react to your presence like its so GOOOOOD

it suuuucks tryin to get ppl into ace combat bc im not gonna lie. sometimes tthe gameplay DOES look boring. but when youre in there its the fucking coolest thing in the world

I've been thinking about my sexuality, how I might fall on the ace spectrum. In former relationships I did have sex but it was just something to get done to please my partner. I can live without it. In fact, I find sex more exhausting than anything else and when I look at a girl that I find attractive, I don't think about having sex with her. I just think about going on cute dates and treating her so damn right. Like, I might not be very attractive, but when it comes to being a decent person, I'm a 9/10. What sparked me to think about this is that a while ago my roommate talked about wanting to set me up with one of her friends who's asexual. And I was like, damn, that's such a bonus point. Like, if I could choose between being in a relationship with sex and a relationship without sex, I'd 100% choose the latter which just shows how little pleasure I get out of having sex. Like cuddling and holding hands is fine. But kissing? Hell no. And having sex to me has always just been something that "needs" to get done, like I said. I think it's time for me to really listen to what I want instead of just going with what I think is expected of me.

what do you think astrid’s thoughts on the young silco/felicia (jinx and vi’s mom) dynamic would be? what are YOUR thoughts.

i lowkey thought the scene was gonna reveal that silco or vander was the girls biological father 😭😭

My thoughts are that looking fondly at someone doesn’t automatically equate to romantic feelings - and to me that scene didn’t read as there being anything beyond friendship going on between Silco and Felicia. (Could be wrong there of course, only act 3 can tell us for sure). There were moments during which it felt as though there might have been something going on between her and Vander though. A few meaningful glances between the two that could suggest that he’s Vi’s biological father. Although that being said, if that were the case I think we would have seen a much bigger reaction from him when she dropped the news - even if he was trying to hide it from his face, it should have been more obvious to us, the viewers.

To be honest, my feelings about that whole scene are very conflicted. On the one hand I loooooved seeing young Silco and getting to witness him in a moment of relative domesticity and peace. And his smile? Absolutely melted my heart. But outside of that the whole scene felt tropey and contradictory. I don’t know if even the writers knew what they were attempting to achieve with it. For me, it didn’t actually answer any questions about what went wrong between Silco adn Vander, and if anything raised more questions that I’m concerned will never be fully addressed or resolved.

It’s hard to tell what Astrid’s thoughts would be because I don’t know enough about Felicia to know how deep a friendship between her and Astrid would go. But at her heart Astrid is a girls girl - she’d have a sisters back first and foremost and wouldn’t get in the middle of anything going on.

So yeah, those are my thoughts. I think people in fandom have a tendency to read too much into it when a character is looking at another character, but it’s important to remember that we are all neurodivergent and not everyone/character has issues with eye contact lmfao
