Ethan and I missed a grand total of two shows. At least he got to perform the night we arrived to the Akron Civic Theatre. I couldn't sing until the next afternoon, and I really wanted to sing. I needed to sing. I also wanted to down a bottle of wine in one go, but I couldn't have that either. Had to earn my 4 month chip when we got back from tour, after all.

I tried to keep to myself as much as I could, but that was hard given the amount of people that worked with us. While the guys were onstage, though, it was pretty quiet in the green room. I was curled up on the couch, deep in my phone now that I had it back. I tweeted out my appreciation for those who were concerned. I also reassured them that I was perfectly fine to go on with the tour without telling them what exactly had happened. There were other people in the room, like Molly, Mandy, and Day, but they were in their own conversation. For once, I didn’t mind coming off as rude and staying quiet when they walked in the room. I just stayed focused on my phone.

That was a good way to act like I didn’t notice those three, along with other members of the crew watching me. Of course, upon arrival to the venue I got that sympathetic head tilt and the borderline condescending “how ya doing?” from practically everyone. Don’t get me wrong, it was reassuring that I was cared about, but the attention was aggravating. The more attention I got, the harder it was to forget this whole fiasco. Besides, the people that did know about the miscarriage didn’t really know how to react, give that the dead baby’s parents were generally unfazed by the events. We just carried on like normal, despite the awkward tension. Honestly, it really was a shitty way to kick off the tour. Way to set the mood, Bella.

There was a TV on the wall opposite to where I was sitting. It was playing the show, and it made me glad I hadn’t gone home. Here, I had things to keep myself busy. I helped Amy and Kathryn put together the VIP backpacks and screen the improv prompts from the audience. Tomorrow I would start singing. At home I had nothing, and having nothing meant I would go crazy and probably relapse. That would just cause more problems, and I already created enough commotion.

My eyes darted back to my phone when Kathryn and Amy entered the room. Their presence meant the show was almost over, and then there would be more people in the room. I took a deep breath.

Amy sat next to me. For a moment, that was all she did. But then, she placed her arms around me and pulled me into a side hug. She squeezed me once and let me go.

“Glad you’re back,” she said simply.

Mildly startled by the physical gesture, I looked at my lap. “Thanks.”

“Glad you’re not dead,” Kathryn added.

“Same.” I paused and then looked up. “Thanks for calling the ambulance and stuff…” My tone was stiff and borderline reluctant, but that was because I wasn’t sure how to properly express that gratitude.

“No problem.” Kathryn sounded just as awkward, but we left it at that anyway.

Eventually, the guys ended their show and came over to the room. I smiled and celebrated with the group. I gave Ethan a hug and a kiss, despite that he was really sweaty and that things were still rocky between us. No one needed to know that, though. We all pretty much stayed in the green room while everyone took turns showering, and then we were on the bus by two in the morning.

I was pleased to discover that my mattress and blanket were replaced while I was gone. No sleeping on a dried up fetus for me. I wanted to say that out loud, but quickly realized how dark it sounded. Too soon. Besides, I wasn’t sure who knew exactly what happened. Best to keep to myself.

“What was it like?” I asked Mark the next day.

We were in a private room at the venue: Rosemont Theatre in Rosemont, Illinois. We were rehearsing our set together alone before rehearsing onstage. Tonight was my first time singing on stage in front of people. I would have been crapping my pants had I not almost bled out on the bus. Things like that change your perspective a little bit.

“Well, I was more nervous than I had ever been,” he explained as he mindlessly strummed his guitar. “I actually started with The Man With No Shadow because I was freaking out so much. But after the nerves pass, it’s incredible. The audience has been really amazing and understanding so far. You’re really gonna like it.”

I nodded and bit my lip. My anxiety nausea was threatening to make a comeback, but I kept drinking my weight in chamomile. Not only that, I couldn’t shake this feeling of despair. Luckily, I had my healthy coping mechanism here.

“We’re starting with Give Me Love, right?” I asked.

“Yeah, you sure, though?” Mark replied with some uncertainty. “It won’t be too much for you?”

“I’m fine,” I told him. “And it would be better if I wasn’t treated like a fragile little bunny, okay?”

Mark held up a hand in surrender. “Got it. Don’t hold back.”

It was cathartic when it was just the two of us. On stage, in front of my friends and the crew, it was a little intimidating. So intimidating, in fact, that I couldn’t hit my high notes in any of our songs. Dan had to guide me through them, and we all had to pray I wouldn’t falter during the set. This was way different from just singing in my bedroom.

When the time actually came, I wanted to shit myself. I made frequent trips to the bathroom as the VIP audience took their seats. The third or fourth time I left the backstage toilet, Ethan was waiting for me by the door. I felt like a deer in headlights in front of him due to the nerves. Also, we hadn’t really spoken to each other that day, given that our argument on the bus didn’t exactly get resolved.

“Babe,” he said sympathetically, “are you-”

“Shh!” I hushed as I hysterically flapped my hands around. “Don’t talk about it. I won’t think about it til it’s over.”

Ethan nodded. “Okay. Can I hug you?”

I shook my head, averting eye contact. I did, however, silently hold my hand out.

Graciously, Ethan squeezed my fingers. He kept looking at me and slowly pulled me in closer, but I couldn’t return the contact. It felt especially weird because from the ride to Akron up until now, things were quiet between us. Still, he was here and I wasn’t sure why.

“You don’t have to do this, you know.” There it is.

I let go of his hand. “Thanks for the support.”

“Hey, that’s not what I meant.”

“You don’t just say things like that!” I snapped, my voice shaking.

“You just got out of the hospital!” he reminded me in an equally unhappy tone. “You had surgery! You almost bled out on the bus!”

“That doesn’t make me weak! I’m not broken!”

“I didn’t say that!”

“You didn’t have to! I’m singing, I don’t care if it kills me!”

Ethan sighed. “Don’t say things like that…”

I rolled my eyes and went back to the wings. I was kind of glad I didn’t see the look on his face; I knew I had upset him. But I needed him to understand.

It was hard to tell if the surrounding people were acting like they heard any of what just happened. It was weirdly tense, though, but I had to shake it off.

“Can we do the sad one first?” I asked Mark as I took my place next to him.

“Which one?” he replied.

“Last Kiss. It’s easy, it’ll get the nerves out.”

“Alright.”

All sound was muffled as we stepped onto the stage. I couldn’t even see, but I still made it to my microphone stand. Mark was on my left; I think he greeted the audience. I think I said something in response too. The only thing I heard after that was Mark strumming our first duet.

From there, I closed my eyes and let it happen.

So Maia just got killed and Sebastian is back. That's a cheesy line. How would they be able to invite you to the wedding if they thought you were dead. Not that they would anyway. Clary is sacrificing herself for everyone. All these misspellings though, well it was my first story on here and I never edited it and I wrote it on my phone. That was short af. Well my original word count was 500 but later in the story I am pretty sure I switched it to my current 2000.

The incest plotline though, *throws up* I was trying to continue the idea of Sebastian thinking that the bloodline had to be pure. And Clary's pregnant. Jace's pov, the language was the worst in this story. Clary pov. Sebastian wants to make another demon child. Trama. Sebastian is a vampire but a new breed. Mark of Cain?

So we are starting this chapter with Trama warnings. Jace is blood thirsty and I don't blame him. This is the cringest this I've ever written and that's saying a lot. Clary made a run to hurt him. It can't be that easy.

Sebastian told Jace that was pregnant. Jace just cut of his head and he's still alive? These 500 word chapter get annoying fast.

Threatening Alec for Magnus to put up wards. That's one way to do it ig. You want the Infernal Cup too? Now he only wants Jace and Clary there.

Not much happened in this chapter but Sebastian raided Clary's closet from the Insitute.

So she did kill her mother... I didn't make that very clear. Jace and Alec want them to make Amends so that she doesn't murder Shadowhunters. Sweetie I think it's far too late for that. Lydia is officially dead. How could she be preggers if she's a vampire? And now her mother is still alive? Jocelyn, Luke, Maryse and Robert are alive still too? Emily's mom admitted to everything. I also started going to 2000 word chapters.

Lilith is acting like a bitch, kinda. They are attacking the clave. Lilith summoned a shit ton of demons. The end of the chapter is kinda intense tho.

Raphael? Wtf are you doing here? Hodge?  They are testing by mortal sword. This is kinda confusing. Why was this the most read story on my wattpad before Avenging Riverdale?

Time skip. The baby is coming. A blue and a black eye? Sebastian's eyes flickered green? Magnus wants to figure how to bring out the Johnathan in him.

Emily plans on making Sebastian stays Sebastian.

That was a shitty chapter.

And I forgot I discountinted it... Sorry about that.

Overall I am happy I discountinted you. It is a horrible book and I am embarrassed by it to be honest. This is my first book on wattpad so I think it's pretty normal but it wasn't my first piece of fanfic. My first work was on Fanfic.net but has since been deleted by the website. I don't know why it wasn't bad at all it was more fluff than anything. But I have decided that I am going to post this and then I'm going to take down the story in a month. I failed to put trigger warnings, failed to edit (to be fair that was back when I did all of my writing on my phone before I had am actual laptop). But I did have some good ideas when it came to the traitor part and Sebastian finding love and I deem this story on crack. So my final rating is a 2/10.

A/N: Well, this is interesting. I really didn’t expect to finish this chapter so soon but Saturday was very productive and I got to work from home, which means I got 0 work done but instead chose to write. It is what it is.

Ben and Gwil jumped a little when Roger’s screaming falsetto attacked them from the speakers. Frankie started howling along. Gwil quickly fumbled with the volume knob, turning it down to a reasonable volume.

“Ben, do you think you can go that high?”

“Once, Annie accidentally kneed me in the groin and I’m pretty sure I did.”

Clara held up her third glass of wine with one hand as she pulled the hem of her oversized Wonder Woman t-shirt over her folded knees. She looked from her glass of wine to Annie’s bump, humming pensively.

“Banana?” Clara tilted her head slightly, “I wanna try something. Don’t breathe!”

“What?!”

“Stop breathing!”

“I need to breathe, you plum!” Annie scoffed. “What are you planning?”

“Lemme!” Clara leaned forward and carefully hovered her wine glass over Annie’s bump.  

“Oh, God,” Annie rolled her eyes and leaned back, “fine. Go ahead.”

“Yay!” Clara’s eyes lit up.

“But if I end up smelling like a drunk housewife, I’ll cut you.”

“You would never!”

“You know I would.” Annie glared at her best friend.

“Yeah, yeah,” Clara chuckled, “you still owe me a disembowelment from five years ago. All bark,” Clara placed the glass on Annie’s bump and leaned back, her hands in the air, smiling proudly. “No bite.”

Annie grabbed the glass and brought it to her nose, taking a deep breath.

“Bumpy,” Annie looked down and rubbed her bump with her other hand, “is it okay if mummy has a sip?”

“Annie!” Clara gasped just as Bumpy kicked Annie’s bladder.

“Guess not!” Annie grimaced and passed the glass off to Clara, scrambling to her feet and running as best as she could to the loo.

Annie didn’t even bother closing the door behind her. Wiggling her hips, she sat down and sighed with relief when Clara appeared in the doorway, wine glass in hand.

“Is the sex any different? Now that you’re preggers?” Clara glanced at her glass and downed its’ contents. “Like, super sensitive and whatnot?”

“I don’t know.” Annie tapped her toes on the tile flooring, leaning her elbows on her knees. She propped her chin on the palm of her hand and sighed. "Sex with Ben is always different.”

“I mean,” Clara leaned against the door frame and flipped her glass upside down, “I heard someone say it was like having sex while high on MJ”.

“He’s just so surprising,” Annie gushed as she rolled toilet paper around her hand, “can you please just turn around for a sec?”

“Banana, I’ve seen your bizz more times than I care to admit.”

“Yeah, but not when I peed!”

“Fine. I’ll just go pour me some more fun juice.”

“Yes!” Annie nodded, “you do that! You’re drinking for both of us now!”

“He’s just so freaking hot!” Clara yelled from the kitchen.

“I know!” Annie sighed with a smile, thinking of Ben. Suddenly, the realization hit her - maybe Clara wasn’t talking about Gwil anymore? “Wait! Who?”

“I know you’re in a rush,” Gwil was dancing in his seat, and not because of the music, “but I need to make a quick stop.”

“Christ, Gwil, even Frankie can hold it!” Ben groaned.

“First you call me a loser,” Gwil huffed, “then you compare me to a dog. Frankie?” Gwil twisted in his seat to look back at the sleepy pup, “need to go pee pee?”

Frankie started wagging her tail, slapping it against the back seat. Ben rolled his eyes and pulled over, turning his blinkers on.

“Well, go ahead then, you big baby!” he muttered as Gwil opened his door and took a few steps into the darkness. He drummed along to the music on the steering wheel as he waited for Gwil’s lanky body to collapse back into the passenger seat. “All good?”

“All good.”

The song on the playlist changed and a familiar riff played through. Ben laughed at Gwil’s music, his eyebrows shooting up.

“TLC?” Ben chuckled, “seriously?”

“Hey, I don’t want no scrubs, okay?”

“My God…”

Gwil started lip-syncing along to the lyrics, adding dramatic hand gestures. Ben laughed but couldn’t help but join in. Soon enough, Gwil was filming them both rocking it out to No Scrubs and sent it to Joe. Without fail, Joe’s hysterical voice came through the speaker phone.

“What is this?!”

“Hey buddy!” Ben glanced over at Gwil, who was still doing his interpretive dance. “What are you doing up?”

“Where are you?!”

“On our way to Truro.”

“Who the fuck is that?!”

“God, you’re so bloody American…” Gwil finally spoke. “It’s not who. It’s where.”

“Well, where the fuck is that?!”

“About five hours away?” Ben looked at his navigation app, “well, we’re halfway there, so two and a half hours.”

“But why?”

“Because Ben is impulsive and Annie is holding my girlfriend hostage.” Gwil said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the universe.

“You’re going to see Annie?”

“Yep.” Ben couldn’t stop smiling.

“Is he smiling like an idiot?” Joe asked.

“He sure is.” Gwil snorted.

“Have fun, guys.”

“It’s been 84 years, Annie!” Clara face-planted into a throw pillow on the sofa, “I’m not okay!”

“It’s literally been just over a week!”

“I miss Gwil!”

“I know, it’s all you’ve been saying for the last hour.” Annie yawned.

“I just wish he was here, okay?” Clara whined. “I have needs!”

“Please don’t talk about your needs.”

“Alright, my little cautionary tale,” Clara teased, “I won’t. We’ve seen where needs will get you.”

“Excuse you!” Annie kicked her gently, “you apologise to Bumpy right now!”

“No!”

“Clara, you will never get to see this baby -”

“Okay!” Clara groaned, “I’m sorry, Bumpy.”

“Apology accepted.”

“I need Gwil.” Clara sighed, cuddling up to Annie’s side.

“As appalled as I am by it,” Annie stroked Clara’s hair, “I get it. I need Ben.”

They sat together in comfortable silence for a few minutes, lost in thought.

“I have an idea!” Clara almost fell face-first into the coffee table in her rush to get to her phone. Tapping clumsily at the screen, she turned on the front camera and curled back up to Annie’s side. “Hear me out on this one.”

“All ears.”

“What if we do a boomerang and send it to Gwil?” Clara had a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, “I mean, Ben and Gwil are together for sure. Killing two birds with one stone and whatnot.”

“Okay?”

“So we’re going to pretend to go in for a kiss, yeah?”

“Clara, if you want to make out with me, you can just ask and I’ll say no.”

“Get over yourself, love!” Clara scoffed, “I’m not going to kiss you for real!”

“Good, Ben wouldn’t like that.”

“I have a feeling he would, actually.” Clara held her phone up in front of them, trying to get a good angle, “okay, ready?”

“You’re all shaky, Clara!” Annie snatched the phone away, “God you have zero tolerance for alcohol, you leaf!”

Clara rolled her eyes and took Annie’s face in her hands. They counted to three and leaned in, parting their lips and bumping their noses together.

“Right, let’s see what we got!” Clara rubbed her hands before reaching for her phone. “Oh, yeah, they’ll like this.”

“Let me see!” Annie tilted Clara’s hand and peered at the screen. “Oh. Yes.”

“What the…” Gwil mumbled as he looked at his phone. “What is happening?” “What?” Ben munched on a candy bar as he drove. 

“I don’t -” 

“What is it?” Ben’s gaze flickered from Gwil’s bewildered face to the dark road. “Well, it’s something Clara sent me.” 

“Oh?” Ben grinned a bit lopsided, “sent you some racy photos eh?” 

“Not quite a photo…” 

“Well, let me see!” 

“No!” Gwil pressed the phone to his chest, “no. You’ll end up killing us!” 

“Oh, come on!” 

“I mean it!” Gwil switched the screen off, “Annie’s in it, too.” 

“Fuck you!” Ben whined. “Now I have to see it! Although,” Ben chuckled, “you getting all flustered on your pregnant cousin’s nude is -”

“You are absolutely disgusting, Ben!” Gwil smacked him on the back of his head, “they’re not naked! Both are clothed!” 

“Well then I don’t see what the big deal about it is!” Ben rubbed the back of his head. 

“Pull over.” 

“Now you have to pee again?” 

“No, you twat,” Gwil groaned, “I need you to pull over so we don’t wreck the car and die!” 

“Jesus, you’re so dramatic sometimes.” Ben muttered, “it’s like having a fit is in your DNA.” 

“Just shut up and do it.” Gwil commanded.

With a huge sigh, Ben pulled over to the side of the road and parked. His jaw clenched shut, he glared at Gwil. 

“Well, are you going to show me or…” Ben’s rant was cut sort by the two girls moving in on each other and back again, as if they are about to kiss. Their noses bumped and their lips barely brushed against each other, and they both had the most devilish smiles on their faces. “Fucking hell.”

Clara sat sulking on the rug, her back against the sofa. She gave up on using a glass and was now drinking straight from the bottle as Annie braided her hair in French plaits.

“Maybe he’s asleep and he just didn’t see it?” Annie said soothingly, “he’s an old man, babe.”

“He hated it!” Clara’s speech was starting to slur, but that still didn’t stop her from chugging on her second bottle of wine. “I ruined everything!”

“You didn’t ruin anything, woman!” Annie’s nimble fingers wove Clara’s blonde locks into perfect braids. She heard a sniffle and a stuttered breath. “Are you actually crying right now?”

“You just don’t understand!”

“Oh my God, you’ve finally gone mad.”

“Shut up!”

“Clara, he’s probably just asleep. You have nothing to worry about.”

Clara’s legs slid forward. She looked like a rag-doll, sitting down with no pants, a t-shirt that could be considered a dress with how long it was on her body and pigtails. Her cheeks were flushed from alcohol and embarrassment and her bottom lip stuck out in a pout. She winked and peered into the bottle of wine.

“S’almost over!” she tilted her head back and looked at Annie with big, glossy eyes, “need more!”

“I think you’ve had enough, actually.”

“Oh, don’t be such a mum!”

“I’m just not keen on cleaning up after you’ve hurled everywhere!”

“Hey, I’m being a good friend here!” Clara tried to point at herself but her hand-eye coordination was long gone, “I’m helping you prepare!”

“Prepare?”

“Um? Yeah?” Clara raised her eyebrows and scoffed, “for when little Josephine comes out!”

They rode in silence. Ben’s eyes were fixed forward. He felt like his heart is going to beat itself right out of his chest. He kept looking down at the dashboard to make sure he’s going as fast as he can without speeding, but his foot felt a bit heavy on the gas pedal. He needed to get to Annie, fast.

Gwil, on the other hand, leaned back and closed his eyes. His hands were strategically placed in his lap, hiding the aftermath of Clara and Annie’s teasing. He bit the inside of his cheek, imagining every possible scenario he could think of.

“How much longer?” Gwil’s eyes fluttered open and he shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

“GPS says one hour.”

“Why would she even send that?” Gwil rubbed the scruff on his chin, “I mean, with my cousin, for fuck’s sake!”

“They probably just assumed we were together.”

“They’re not wrong.”

“Nope.”

“Can you go any faster?” Gwil knees bounced impatiently.

“Believe me, I want to.” Ben muttered.

“Alright, alright!” a loud hiccup escaped Clara’s mouth, “would you rather sit on a hedgehog or shower with bees?”

“What?!”

“Sit on a hedgehog or shower with bees?”

“How do you even -”

“Don’t dwell on it, man! Just pick one!”

“Sit on a hedgehog!” Annie blurted out. “Don’t yell at me!”

“I’m not yelling!”

“Christ, your drunk voice is so loud!” Annie covered her ears, “volume, lady!”

“Sorry!” Clara whispered.

“Okay. Would you rather…” Annie tapped her finger against her chin as she tried to come up with something. “Would you rather fuck a Teletubby or lick an octopus?”

“Which Teletubby?”

“Does it really fucking matter?”

“Solid point.” Clara yawned. “Lick an octopus.”

“You are disgusting.”

“It’s why you love me.” Clara stood up, swaying a bit on her feet. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a toilet to cuddle.”

“What if they’re both asleep and they won’t hear us knocking?” Ben’s eyes were as big as saucers. “What if she didn’t leave the light on and was just kidding and -”

“Ben, mate,” Gwil rubbed his face groggily, “it’s half past two. I’m knackered. Can you stop with this nonsense?”

Ben could have sworn his entire body was buzzing with anxiety and excitement. Frankie was sleeping on her back, paws in the air, in the back seat. On one hand, he envied her more than he cared to admit. On the other hand, he felt like he will never sleep again.

“Gwil?”

“Yeah?” Gwil yawned out.

“Thanks. For coming with me.”

“S’nothing, really.” Gwil shrugged. ��You missed your girl, I missed mine.”

“No, really. I owe you.”

“Oh, yeah?” Gwil smiled lazily, “alright then. You can repay me right now if you want.”

“Sure,” Ben nodded, “anything.”

“What’s the baby’s name?”

“Anything but that.”

“Oh, come on!” Gwil groaned. “I’m the godfather! I have a right to know!”

“We’re not telling anyone until Elvis will leave the building, mate!” Ben rolled his eyes, “not even our own families.”

“It’s the only way your can repay me for coming with you, Ben.”

“Shut up.”

“I mean it!” Gwil bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from laughing. “Either you tell me what the baby’s name is right now or you’ll owe me for the rest of your life!”

“You’re not going to let this go?”

“Nope.”

“Ugh. Fine.”

“Hold on then, I need to document this.” Gwil fumbled with his phone and turned on the camera. “Go.”

“Her name is Josephine. Will you let it go, now?”

“You have reached your destination.” The robotic lady on the GPS app announced.

“The light is on.” Ben looked at the door and beamed.

Annie grunted as she opened her eyes. The knocking on the door wouldn’t stop. She looked at the clock on the wall and groaned when she saw the time - it was almost three in the morning. A slight panic washed over her; people don’t just knock on doors at this time. She got up as quietly as she could and tip-toed her way to the front door. After taking a deep breath, she looked out the peephole.

Her chin started quivering, her hands shaking. Through the fisheye lens, she saw Ben’s beautiful, tired face, and Gwil right behind him. Frankie’s tail, knocking rhythmically against the wall, was like music to Annie’s ears. She flung the door open, shaking and sobbing uncontrollably.

“Shhh, hey,” Ben cooed and engulfed her in his arms, kissing the top of her head, “what’s wrong?”

Annie couldn’t form a coherent sentence. All she could do was weep and hold onto Ben for dear life. She felt Ben’s tears wet her hair and tried to hug him even tighter. She didn’t know why she was crying, or why he was crying.

“We’re pathetic,” Ben wiped his cheeks on his arms before he tended to Annie’s, “aren’t we?”

“Mmm’yeah…” Annie smiled, despite the crying, and bit her bottom lip. She leaned into Ben’s touch, turning her head to kiss the palms of his hands. Frankie stood up on her hind legs, scratching at Annie’s hip for attention. “Hi, baby! I missed you!”

“Where is she?” Gwil grunted as he zoomed past them, “hi Banana.”

“In her room, second door to the left,” Annie said without taking her eyes off of Ben. “What are you doing here?”

“I told you, I wasn’t going home tonight,” Ben pressed his forehead to hers, “and I couldn’t just leave Frankie all alone until Monday.”

“I just didn’t believe you’d actually drive five hours in the middle of the night.”

“I’d do anything for you.”

Frankie came back, running circles around the pathetic duo, biting on her bunny to make it squeak.

“Franks, hush!” Annie giggled, “you’ll wake Clara up.” A shrill scream came from behind Clara’s bedroom door. “Never mind.”

“I’m sorry.”

Annie’s eyes fluttered open and she looked up at Ben, her head resting on his chest. After they finished sobbing at the door, all Ben wanted was to take her to bed and drown in her presence. He felt like all five of his senses were screaming with delight, now that she was finally there.

“What are you sorry for?” Annie propped herself up on her elbow. Her free hand trailed up Ben’s body, stopping right over where she could feel his heart beating.

“For how things were when you left.” Ben reached up to push her hair over her shoulder. “For Cassie.”

“You don’t need to apologise for that.”

“No, I really am sorry,” Ben felt like he was free-falling when he looked in her eyes, “you’re pregnant with my baby. I shouldn’t have put you through it.”

“I kind of had it coming, didn’t I?” Annie shrugged.

“Maybe, if you weren’t so pregnant.” Ben smirked and turned on his side, instinctively placing a hand on her belly. “But now that you are?”

“Still had it coming.”

“You left without saying goodbye or sleeping in our bed,” Ben swallowed down a lump in his throat, “and then every time we spoke it just felt so forced and…”

“What?”

“And it scared me.” Ben took Annie’s hand and brushed her knuckles against his lips. “It really fucking scared me.”

“What did?”

“How calm you were.” His voice was barely a whisper. “Usually when we fight you’re all over the place, but the fact that you were so calm...”

“I recall crying until I had to rehydrate all night, actually.”

“Yeah, you cried, but you didn’t yell at me.” Ben rubbed gentle circles on Annie’s bump. “You didn’t even call me names.”

“What?” Annie giggled.

“When you call me names, I know that you’re just royally pissed off but that it’ll pass and we’ll be back to normal again.” He bit his bottom lip, letting it roll out from under his teeth slowly. “And then you didn’t call me names. At all. That’s when I knew I went too far.”

“But you still had Cassie around.”

“I was hoping to get a reaction out of you.” Ben chuckled. “I was waiting for you to call me a twat or a knob or even fucking Boob Tape.”

“Ben Hardy,” Annie scoffed, “are you saying that the only reason you’re here tonight is because I called you a twat earlier?”

“Well…”

“Oh, for fuck’s sake.” Annie rolled her eyes and yelped in surprise when Ben’s lips were on hers.

They both snorted at the same time into the kiss. Ben rolled on his back, grabbing Annie. She straddled him, careful not to lean all her weight on Bumpy, and peppered kisses all over his face.

“Oh, God,” Ben grunted as he turned his head to the side and saw the sunrise illuminate the window softly, “is it already light out?”

Ben woke up to the sound of whispers and giggles coming from the foot of the bed. Opening one eye, he peeked and found Gwil and Clara pointing a phone at them.

“What the fuck are you doing?” his voice was raspy from sleep. “Why are you even in our room?”

“First of all, it’s Annie’s room.” Clara whispered, “second of all, Frankie scratched at the door. She needed to be let out.”

“You two are very irresponsible parents.” Gwil tutted. “Sleeping in when your baby needs to go potty.”

“Get the fuck out!” Ben hissed, pulling the covers over his and Annie’s heads. “We’re naked!”

“No you’re not,” Clara retorted, “I can see Annie’s sock poking out.”

“Her feet got cold.” His voice was muffled.

The lump under the covers moved a little. Clara and Gwil exchanged a sheepish glance when the distinct sound of kissing, grunting and stifled moans emanated from the bed.

“Fucking hell, at least wait till we’re out of the room!” Gwil grumbled and covered Clara’s eyes.

Ben’s middle finger poked out of the covers.

“What’s all this?”

Clara and Annie peered into the kitchen, coming back from an exceptionally long walk with Frankie. Their cheeks and tips of the nose were rosy from the cool air. They had both woven their hair into intricate braids while outside.

“Ah,” Gwil walked over and kissed Clara sweetly, “I see Helga and Brunhilda have returned!”

“Which one of us is Helga?” Clara looked up at Gwilym, eyes twinkling with love.

“You, of course.” He wrapped his arms around her. “You’re much too dainty to be a Brunhilda.”

“Oh, shove it!” Annie rolled her eyes and walked over to Ben. “What’s cookin’, good lookin’?”

“Well,” he put the lid back on the pot, “we figured you’d both come back hungry after being gone for two and a half hours.”

“Good thinking.” Annie winked.

“And since you are both on vacation, we also figured it would be nice for you two to actually not have to cook for yourselves or get take-out.”

“You’re an angel!” Annie kissed Ben’s shoulder and giggled when he grabbed her face in his hands and stamped a noisy, wet kiss onto her lips.

“Good Lord,” Gwil snorted, “he actually domesticated a feral Annabelle.”

“I think it’s sweet.” Clara cooed.

“Tell a living soul about what you’ve seen over the weekend and I will cut you both,” Annie glared at her cousin, “don’t test me.”

“I take it back,” Gwil stepped back, holding his hands up in front of him, “she’s still a wild beast.”

Ben and Annie exchanged a knowing look, smirking at each other.

“Gwil, take over for me, please.” Ben took Annie’s hand and led her away.

“For crying out loud, mate,” Gwil called after Annie and Ben as they skipped along to the bedroom, “she’s already pregnant!”

“Did you start decorating the nursery?” Clara asked as she picked up the dishes once everyone finished eating.

“Well...” Annie squeaked with a grimace.

“Are you waiting for the baby to come out and help you with it?” Gwil snorted.

“I mean, there’s still time! Right?” Annie looked at Ben hopefully.

“You’re six months pregnant, Annabelle!” Gwil glowered, “there’s not a whole lot of it left!”

“I’m well aware of that, Gwilly, thank you.”

“It’s just that I need my gym and my drums,” Ben scowled at his own words once they were out of his mouth, “and we only have that extra room.”

“The baby can’t sleep on the kit, Ben,” Annie snapped, “we’ve talked about this!”

“I was only joking when I suggested that!”

“Were you, really?”

“No…”

Clara and Gwil looked from Ben to Annie during the exchange as if they were watching a tennis match. They both sipped their wine quietly.

“The baby will sleep in a crib by our bedside for the first few months anyway,” Ben reminded his girlfriend, “so we still have plenty of time to figure that out.”

“What about a changing table?” Gwil intervened, “toys? Wardrobe?” Annie and Ben looked at him, dumbfounded. “Discuss.”

“Fuck off mate!” Ben scoffed. “This is a family discussion!”

“He has a point.” Annie shrugged.

“I’m not losing my kit and my gym, Annie.”

“Well, I’m not sleeping in the same room with the kid till she moves out!” Annie crossed her arms in triumph.

“When do you think they’ll figure it out, then?” Clara asked Gwil, her voice low.

“Give them a couple more minutes.” Gwil muttered back. 

“How much space does one baby need?” Ben started talking with his hands, indicating his frustration. “It’s hardly Frankie’s size!”

“It needs furniture!” Annie turned to look at Gwil and Clara, “right?”

“Definitely needs furniture, love.” Clara confirmed and poured herself another glass of wine.

“Our place just isn’t big enough, Ben.” Annie sighed in defeat.

“What if we moved, then?” Ben’s eyes lit up. “To a bigger place?”

“You’d do that?” Annie raised an eyebrow. “You love your flat!”

“The baby needs a room with furniture, yeah?”  

“Yeah.”

“And I need a room for my drums and my gym, yeah?”

“Yeah.”

“Then it’s settled. We’re going house hunting.”

Clara screamed with her mouth closed, clapping her hands.

Walkthrough for “There But For The Grace”.

If interested - Go read it first before continuing on. This is about the plot point stuff (i/e - hints for the end, amongst other things) and the theological drops I sprinkled throughout.

I genuinely did not intend for this to cause brain freeze. Hoo-boy. Many sorry. There’s about a 40/60 split at this point of the “got its” vs. “didn’t quite got its”, so that’s on me. Not that it was incredibly necessary to catch the loop-di-loop in order to like it, though you might like it more once you know.

So I'll walk you through my thought process in the least disjointed manner I can manage. Which... hoo-boy, part deux. Tagging folks who commented on the story/to me directly, certainly no expectation on my part for you to read and/or reply. Seriously. Legit. Etc. And stuff.

This took longer to write than the story. #no lie

Okay, lotsa screencaps, so I don’t (a) end up c-p’ing the whole damn thing, and more the reason (b) so can underline.

Hopefully you picked up on something being “off” with how I was writing ol’ Mike as the story went on. I got slightly tricksy in some places on purpose regarding characterization, but hey - Mike and Michael are essentially the same angel in concept, just on different planes, right? And stuff apparently took a left turn when the apocalypse went through over yonder. So while they didn’t really re-tell the history of Apocaland beat-by-beat (thank Chuck), the inference I got is that the basic shit went down - he boots Luci after he rebels, etc. Blah blah blah, y’all know this.

So maybe Mike came at it from the same angle when he killed his Luci. Who knows. Though I will say - if it was some sort of duty for him and not pleasure, I wouldn’t think there’d be boasting about pulling Luci apart, nor would the knee-jerk be to string him up and torture him, at least, if he’d suddenly re-appeared before me one day. Michael is meticulous. He slow-plays things. It’s not about being power-hungry; he had power. He was essentially God. For him, this is tied up in honor and loyalty and righting wrongs and all that jazz.

Again - that hesitation. He never stopped loving Lucifer - and Lucifer never stopped loving any of them, we see this big time in the Elysium ep when he “killed” Gabriel. Much internal conflict with these folks. And then there’s Mike, who iced (our) Gabriel and tortured (our) Lucifer in the blink of an eye. 

There’s my characterization base of operations.

---> Could be interpreted as Michael or Mike - applies to both. Mike would find pleasure in taking inventory of what he planned to rule, how we aren’t worthy of anything but being subjects; Michael is perhaps glad to see plenty of justifications for what he feels he’s still destined to do.

---> “Learned” for Mike = the observing we saw in the finale, comparing-and-contrasting to his world; “learned” for Michael could be (a) via Dean’s mind, and / or (b) what he could’ve seen from Mike’s mind when he whooped his ass, a.k.a. Nash’s Sneaky Twisty Thing, re: Michael is now in Dean’s body. 

So, how is that, Nash? you may ask.

Dunno.

Perhaps the distraction of Mike getting wailed on by Michael allowed Dean the opportunity to eject him, maybe Dean’s been wearing Mike down mentally. And though Dean/Sam - being the ideal hosts - have greater tolerance than us regulars, it’s gonna leave them weakened, it’s just got to. Hell, just being possessed by fill-in-the-blank leaves ya with the weeble-wobbles for a bit. Primo chance for Michael to set up shop in Dean.

Then, Nash, since angels need permission, how’d Michael do that? you may ask.

Occam’s razor --> Dean gave Michael “the soul”/”the entity”/whatever permission, and that goes across the realm, alt timelines/dimensions/whatnots. Or, maybe Dean chose the lesser of the two evils, so to speak - he’s boned at this interval anyhow, so if the opportunity arose, if it’s me, I’m choosing the frying pan over the fire - at least I’ve bought myself (and my loved ones, and the world) some time. Either of those work for what I intimated in the story.

Bottom line: however it went down, that’s for your imagination to choose.

A point that’s called back to later, as well as Nash Be Nashin’, RE: I’ve no idea why they opted to dress him in that style. There’s other stylings that are stark contrasts to Dean’s without going full-court-press cosplay, but whatevs. In any event, assuming my premise is taken - that the worlds played out the same for the most part and the ‘20s were a fave and would explain the wardrobe - this can apply to both Mike and Michael.

For those of you fortunate enough to have missed slogging through Sunday school, allow me: S&G was apparently a hotbed of sin, and they were gonna get the fire-and-brimstone treatment. Abraham asked angels who visited him if they’d spare the righteous, because there was at least one group there who was: his nephew Lot’s family. Two more angels were sent to investigate, Lot was awesome to them, welcomed them in without knowing they were angels, etc. So when time came to fire things up, the angels fessed up about who they were and why they were there, and told them (Lot and his crew) that they needed to just leave and not look back. And whoopsie, Lot’s wife found out that wasn’t metaphorical, as when she turned to get one last look at her home going up in flames, wha-BAM! She got turned into a pillar of salt.

So here might be the first subconscious “Hmmm” from your mind - that doesn’t really sync up with what we know of Mike. I don’t think he gives a shit about how much he sins to get what he wants. I bet he can’t even spell benevolence. Read this in Michael’s voice, though, and I hear that whole justifying thing again, the “don’t really want to, but got to” mindset.

See above, RE: “...but I labored more abundantly than them all”. Plus, speaks to arrogance, applicable to both Michael and Mike.

---> Theology-wise, Michael’s only named a couple times, if memory serves... actually most of them are name dropped just a handful of times... did they namedrop Gabe as the one who told Mary she was preggers? I’m not looking it up.

Anyway, theologians have assigned certain “messages” delivered and punishments as being enacted by specific angels, I won’t go down that road here, I’ve no clue how they managed to arrive at those conclusions. Point is that Michael was a guardian, of heaven and of certain places/people on earth, depending on where God assigned. I wanna say Daniel and the lion’s den was one of them. Not looking that up, either.

---> "Temporarily”, hmmm.... that other world looked plenty definitively apoca-sized to me. In any event, floods is a ref to the Noah story, and if memory serves, Michael is thought by some to have been the “angel of death” that struck down the firstborn sons during the plagues of Egypt.

Also also - I’d speculate he’s taken on some self-imposed blame for Lucifer sneaking into the garden and tempting Adam & Eve, as he is so convicted in SPN land about righting the wrongs Lucifer brought upon the world, and that’s the event that kicked shit off.

I digress. I’m good for some heavy digressin’.)

There is a specific things-come-in-threes story that’s my baseline, but I’ll tell you further down after #3 hits.

The chick we come to know as Grace does not catch his eye because she is pretty or sweet or in need of assistance or pouty or flirty or super-smart, or even beautiful or too shy and bookish, but if she’d just take off those damn glasses and let her hair out of that ponytail she might be, whatever trope you wanna throw on her - she’s a sinner, another hopeless sinner in a long line of humans who were/are fucking this joint up.

Recurring theme, forgiveness; also - that sound like Mike to you? At least, at this point? Eh. Maybe. If he’s trying to manipulate. But on the other hand - if this were Mike - has she got something he wants/needs? Manipulate Dean, sure; manipulate rando server chick? Possible. But nah. 

---> Would Mike ask that? Why would he care? But Michael might, trying to get a bead on this human. ‘Cause remember, this is an angel who has had sparing contact with humans since he’s been in charge, he’s been dispatching angels for the heavy lifting, he’s not been boots on the ground takin’ care of business for quite awhile. His only in-depth contact has been the Winchesters, and that was only when he had to step in.

---> Also, close siblings recurring theme (close because able to joke around as well as later, when she mentions he’d vent to her about his time in war but not to the same degree as he did the rest of their family)

Whether you cotton to my assertion that Michael may feel guilt for not seeing the Lucifer stuff coming and preventing his initial ingress (Eden), it’s theology 101 that Lucifer brought all things evil and sin and demon and hell and blah blah blah to humankind. And Michael beat him in heaven, but it’s been less offense and more defense ever since; reacting to Luci vs. bringing the game to him. Which is what Michael was finally doing, when the Winchesters didn’t agree to be vessels and let it play out like he’d planned.

So, Saint Michael on the theology end, ruling heaven in Chuck’s absence on the SPN canon end, and Michael’s arrogant, to be sure. He assumed his plan would go off without a hitch, and maybe if it’d been the Hardy Boys instead of the Winchesters, it would’ve [shrugs]

---> Nash Be Nashin’ - trying to poke your subconscious to think about that shot of them falling into the hole, to the cage

---> Could we describe Mike as “broken”? I couldn’t. More to the point, does he behave as if he might consider himself “broken”? Hmmm.

---> I guess that last bit could go either way; for me, I’m thinking of how Lucifer must’ve behaved in the cage, which we got a taste of via Sam’s hallucinations, and perhaps it being too quiet once he was gone. Sometimes being left alone with your thoughts is a bad time.

Again, canon - Lucifer never met a quiet moment he didn’t wanna fill.

So this is just me doing a second sin in the sin trilogy for Michael, as well as adding another piece of common ground between him and Grace with the nickname thing. The only Biblical truth there is the whole “Mark of the Beast” thing. Next time you get drunk or lit on whatever, read you some Revelations, it’ll either knock you out the rest of the way or give you fantastic nightmares.

What I just said, RE: second part of the Michael Lies Super Easy When It Comes To This Chick trilogy. I mean, not really - it’s coming from a good place, he doesn’t want to scare her, and if he told her the truth, where would he even start? Especially with her not being religious. He’s so far behind the eight ball, he’s under the pool table.

---> So here’s the trinity tale that’s the base for why I put this in the story. It’s in all four gospels (Matthew/Mark/Luke/John), and it’s about how at the Last Supper (which happens right before the crucifixion of Jesus goes down), they’re talking about how one of them would betray Jesus (re: Judas), and an apostle named Peter speaks up.

He’s finding common ground with humans - a new kind of hallowed ground - versus being solely their guardian or their punisher, depending. This is (likely, hopefully) a good thing.

[Full disclosure: based on early feedback, from here on out - if you were an early reader - you may notice there’s been a few tweaked lines since original publish, so I may be about to clarify things that are now - with the tweaks - obvious to you. I’m just sayin’.]

By this point, I’d hope you’d been kinda thinking, “I appreciate Nash’s effort to make Mike be not a complete asshole, but holy moly I have been suspending my disbelief like a mo-fo as this went on, why does he give a shit about this chick or about chatting with Dean all friendly, etc.”

---> That “Why didn’t we....” part should scream “THIS ISN’T MIKE”. I hope.

---> It’s been about 10 yrs. since Stull / when Michael took the dive

---> “Is there...” / “Perhaps” -- and maybe it’s this one. Maybe it’s the world he’s always known, but not been part of; remains to be seen. He’s a different dude. This ain’t the same angel that went into that cage. Like Chuck said - he’s a mess. Or maybe, now, could we say... was a mess? Hmmm. Different, though. Definitely different. Not terribly un-canon, not a huge jump to make, in my mind. 

And, you know, The Cage was Luci’s big punishment, right? And he’s fine. Anytime we saw him, in the caboose version or just-been-sprung, he’s been same-ol’, same-ol’. So maybe it’s simply an isolation room, and it’s only been BAD-bad for Sam and Adam and Michael, because Luci was there messing with them, because he’s bored off his ass. That’s why I posit The Cage may not be anything beyond blank space, as it were, if Luci’s not present. 

What Mike would “likely” bring? Nah. Mike’s on the express train to domination. He’s not messing around.

Nash Be Nashin’. I am, on occasion, poetic. “His” is a callback to “my Michael”, and the “g” in “grace” is lower case on purpose. [clears throat, c/ps from up yonder....]

Grace don’t come in just one form, yo. There’s lots floating out there. Just gotta pay attention. Know what to watch for.

He’d said they were already looking into what all other worlds they could get to before Jack’s birth caused our rift and they saw an opportunity for a better way, but Mike’s not taken a run at our world; Michael has. (Bit of a misleading, open-to-interpretation / could apply to Mike line, though, I grant you.)

I take out potential threats. Dean’s an obstacle, true, but he’ll be tucked away going night-night for at least a bit, and I can likely wash-rinse-repeat as needed. Obstacle, though - he’s not an inherent threat to me. Lucifer’s out of the way. Raphael’s out of the way. Gabriel’s out of the way.

Oh. Oh noooes, FML: I’m not out of the way. 

And holy shit - the holiest of all the shits - I could take myself out. Isn’t he in the Fort Knox of binding-thingy-traps-whatever?

But wait. Waaaaait, wait - that cage must be made of aluminum foil, I can see Dean’s memories. Some tacky decoder rings opened it up, his brother Sam got pulled from it, then the angel of death got Sam’s soul out of it, rando witch called up the caboose of it like it was Uber, Lucifer popped Dean and his crew in-and-out of it, and didn’t that demon Crowley use parts of it for some ill-explained ingredient to hold Lucifer hostage like it was melty MacGuffin cheese? Is there not a doorman or something?! Can they get pizza delivered down there, too, I mean TF?

Ooooh, now this is interesting. Chuckie told Dean Michael’s beyond his repair. Lucifer said Michael’s a mess... well. Consider that source. But still. Risk not too high, reward could be very high.

Yeah. I’m totes arrogant enough. This is gonna be a cake-walk.

---> Except... time moves differently in the cage, we know that. So Lucifer’s been gone for... hell, who knows how long. What state Michael might be in now is a mystery. He’s had time to regroup, at the very least, without his chief antagonist lording over him. So is it implausible that Michael could be the key to nailing Mike’s ass to the wall? Might it even be probable? 

The board of directors at NashHole, Inc. voted “Yeeeeessss”.

Again, bro-love, evergreen recurring theme. So, here it is:

If I’m Michael, my perspective would be that Mike can handle his world how he pleases, and he did. But now he’s on my turf. I’m taking great umbrage with this power-hungry twin of mine coming over here and having the audacity to make decisions, take over my destiny, etc.

And then another part of it - Michael’s not only had a lot of time in the cage to get his mojo back, he’s also had time to process the whole situation, what led him to this place, the part he played. I’d imagine a part of him is still gripping onto his convictions, while on the other hand starting to realize that there are parts of this world - and people in this world - that already make it a paradise despite all that Lucifer/demons/the supernaturals have done. 

Maybe an apocalypse isn’t the answer. Maybe Lucifer doesn’t have to die. Bottom line, that ain’t Mike’s call to make; it’s Michael’s.

Last thing!

Handful of you asked about how Mike would’ve opened the cage, how a fight would’ve gone down if Michael’s still in Adam, what about Adam, and my answer is - does it matter? I know, I know, that sounds snotty; it matters in the sense that you asked, so it matters to you. Where I’m coming from is that this isn’t what the story is about, not for me. But hey - you fill in those blanks however your heart desires, truly. Or pretend that twist at the end never happened, and think of this as Mike the whole way through. :)

So this session the idiots faced Five ( three full and two halves) goblin zombies and a bone tornado.

We pick up where we left off, asleep for the most part. Jhaykeovh gets sucked into the magical amulet from the previous session. The idiots get to their feet and prepare, with Magnolia taking a few hard hits. But Mags gets to do the best part about being a cleric in monster Transylvania, which is turn undead. The two halves poof, the three whole zombies run, and the pile of bones in the corner shudders. 

Vera: N O.

Vera manages to kill one of the zombie goblins before turning to the bone tornado, which has set it’s sights on Jasna. Jilly is taking potshots at two of them that’re running away from Magnoilia down the hall. Nitahn wakes up confused and starts to play his accordion. Jasna tries shield bashing the bones to little success. Vera smites evil on the bone monster and does a lot of damage, yelling out to her comrades basically ‘hey do holy shit’ beccause it’s a zombie.

Jansa gets engulfed by the pig storm and Nitahn rushes to help and succesfully bull rushes her out of the swarm. Boney boy gets mad and tries to get her again, and Nitahn sucessfully pulls her out, but gets swarmed himself. Jasna shield bashes again to moderate sucess.

meanwhile: the paladin, cleric, and bard are all trying to get a hand on this bone tornado because using healing spells are touch attacks. Finally Jilly gets a hand on it and does the damage needed. Then it’s some benny hill bullshit as the party tries to chase down the two fleeing zombies. Vera gets one dead and Nitahn belly dances past the other to block it off. Jasna gets behind it and they block it in, eventually killing it.

Meanwhile the entire time I’ve been rolling a cons check because Vera has been very visibly distressed this entire time. ‘There is no rest for the angry dead’ repeated like a mantra, literally yelling NO when the bone pile raised up, ‘It’s weak to hold, use- I don’t care just kill it kill it’. Right after they kill the last zombie is when Vera fails her cons check. She turns to the wall and throws up on the ground. It’s at this point Anya disables her ghost lights, so they’re in pitch darkness. Vera kinda shut down for a second, causing Magnolia and Jasna to both grab her and carry her out of the tunnel.

Vera cleans her mouth out and takes out her flask, taking a few sips. The group decides to head back through the mines into town. They get there and Anya knocks on the door before shoving Vera to the forefront, as she’s become the face of the group. After some deliberation the guards unlock the door, muttering about haivng torches and if the group wasn’t who they said they were, they’d set them on fire.

Illuminated by torchlight was a paladin who was a bit scruffed up and holding a flash. “If you hit me with your torches, by all that’s holy, Goddess forgive me for what I do to you.” (or something like that.) Rolled a 24 for intimidate. Guards fucking book it.

Minor deliberation in the group with Vera about short circuiting. Yells after the guards (”What are you yelling, beccause they might just keep running”) “Hey, I’m sorry, it was bad down there please get back here and do your jobs!” Lights come on in houses, but with a 28 new guards come up. Said guard tries to make a joke when Vera’s like ‘it’s good you keep that under guard’ and is like ‘Oh, so if we hear your voice on the other side we shouldn’t let you in?’ and Vera’s just like. Dead faced. “If you hear my voice coming from the other side of the door, I’m not using it anymore. You gather everyone you can and be prepared to kill what’s on the other side.” 

Guard is like ‘uhhh’ and a few of Vera’s friends take notice of how specific she was. She eventually explains to Anya that her Grandmama (great grandmother, but that’s what they call her) came from Rusk on a land route. During the caracan trip a boy got lost. He started crying from the woods at night, saying he was trapped and begging for help. But he wasn’t wearing his skin anymore. Something else was pretending to be him. And that’s why Vera doesn’t go in the woods. On the way back Nitahn looks for an offering for the caravan’s soothsayer. He finds mushrooms. Yay! Red spotted ones!

Magnolia just barely passes a knowledge nature check and is like ‘hon put those down’. Nearby, close wolves wail. Nitahn quicklly leaves the woods.

The next morning a few of the party members go to the soothsayer to get her to explain the spell she cast on Anya, Magnolia, and Jhayke the previous day. Through some oh fuck it’s 7AM

-Nitahn and soothsayer switch to dormund to not be overheard, but Mags had prepared the spell to comprehend languages. She overheard the whole thing. The three of them may or may not be married.

-jilly asks patchouli about vampires in the area. That, combinded with his bardic knowledge, has him 100% confirmed they are dealing with vampires. Procedes to have a 24 hour bender because, oh fucking christ, vampires.

-Jasna, Vera, and Anya head into town to talk with the mayor about vampires. Vera insinuates that the mayor is pretty enough to have slept his way to power in a bigger city. Mayor is confused. Eventually a butcher approaches them and asks if the caravan might be interested in buying meat. They get a bit more information from him, his usual buyer hasn’t came by. A dark haired pale man.

-all three have a simelutaneous realization that Jilly had said the Goblins said they took the human for food, but kept him alive for three days. Someone, prboaby the pale man, has been buying meat and feeding the goblins to get humans.

-Heading past the mayors house they hear someone arguing, shrieking about the gypsies stealing her son. Mayor is like ‘omfg we have confirmation it was fuckign goblins’ ‘NO HE’S IN HTE CARAVAN MY KIDS SAW HIM’

-Give the news to patchouli, who’s pretty pleased anyone wants to trade with the caravan. Vera brings up what she overheard, and lets him know just how much Havalah (nitahn) looks up to him, how he’s a bright shining pure soul, and if Patchouli is doing anything to tarnish that she’d act accordingly.

-while in town delivering a messge to the butcher they look for the woman who’s son was ‘kidnapped’. turns out she is a horrible person and vera instantly stops giving a shit. similar reacton from Jasna.

-that night, Vera’s helping on watch and Anya’s doing patrol. They spot a young man abandoning his post and sneaking into town. They follow, eventually finding him crawling into a window. Anya overhears after climbing up (leaving vera behind and below because vera’s got a -6 to climb and move silently) that the boy is leaving the caravan to be with the girl he’s fallen in love with.

-”patchouli isn’t leaving tomorrow if he’s stayed three weeks here for that one missing kid.’

-Next morning Anya and Vera head to Patchouli and they tell him a kid’s ran off into town. Patchouli reacts badly. Vera and Jasna react badly to his reacting badly. Anya mitigates the situation. Nitahn shrinks in horror when Vera and Jsana both say some pretty awful shit to Patchouli. Patchouli takes two guards and heads into town with Anya leading and Vera and Jasna providing a foil.

-”If you drag tht boy out of that house you’ll never have his heart again. He’ll leav you behind at first chance or try to betray you.” Vera advises, because running away in the middle of the night is something she emphasises heavily with.

-Jasna rolls a whopping 1 diplomacy when talking to patchouli. She also emphasises leaving your hoome for love.

-In town he knocks on the door and is like ‘WHERE’S MY BOY’ and the dad is quickly like ‘’DIANA THERE BETTER NOT BE NO BOYS IN YOUR ROOM” and they head upstairs with Anya. Meanwhile, Vera’s kind of making eye contact with Jasna as they both ave the same idea: climb up the fucking wall and let the kids know.

-as patchouli and Dianda’s dad try to yell at thier kids while simeltaneously not insultiing the other parent’s child, anya succesfully disables the door in front of them while Jasna gets them out the window. The argument has drawn people from town.

-meanwhile Nitahn hears an argument and goes to a caravan with an open door, where a young woman is trying to pull a young man away from a screaming older woman. He initally assumes the guy’s snuck into a woman’s caravan and tries to help her restrain him, but at the woman’s filthy words he’s like ‘okay bear hug time to get her the fuck out.’ the fight goes to a fever pitch

-in town, they can hear the fight. Bart the idiot traveler goes running back to the caravan, while the guards alert patchouli. The townspeople also head over.

-missing boy from town has fallen in love with a travler girl. It’s adorable. Mother’s shrieking, girl is fed up and is like ‘HE’S GOING TO STAY BECAUSE HE’S THE FATHER OF MY CHILD’ and the assembled group is like OOOOOH like tv drama

-Jilly suggests to Patchouli that htye basically swap kids, bart for the villiage boy (Plus the traveler girl is already preggers, that’s essentially two people) and they hold a double wedding to sort of bring light after both the caravan and the twon have lost people. Patchouli agrees with Jily’s logic. Jilly is still drunk. Jilly has been day drinking.

-the mayor finds his voice, yells for people to shut up (after magnolia, the big beautiful orc, goes up to people indivdually and shushes them) and the plans for a wedding occour.

A Not So Beautiful Thing

Warnings- Birth. I also know nothing about birth, so I’m going off of what I’ve seen on television…

Note- This is the part two to the first Darry X Reader where Darry’s lady-friend got preggers. I shouldn’t be allowed to name ANYTHING.

  Darry’s hand was spread out across your belly as you two slept. Your gigantic planet of a stomach was taking up most of the room in the bed, but Darry still insisted on sharing a bed with you. You were laying on your side and he was curled up next to you. It was sweet really.

  You had been woken up by small pains in your stomach. It was different then what it felt like with the babies kicking. It felt a bit like cramping. You screwed your face up and sat up. Darry moved with you. His eyes snapped open and he watched you carefully.

  “You gotta go to the bathroom, Y/n?” Darry asked. You gritted your teeth and shook your head. Darry’s eyes widened and he threw the covers off of himself. “Is it time?”

  “I think I’m having contractions. I think I’m going into labor!” You gritted your teeth as another contraction pulled your muscles. You’d noticed your stomach had been laying lower about a week before and that was always the first sign of labor. Oh, you knew it was coming. At least you’d carried until the nine month mark.

  “I’ll wake everyone up and start the truck!” Darry was yanking his pants on and stuffing his socked feet into shoes. You swung your legs over the side of the bed and turned on the lamp before trying to stand. Darry was hollering at the boys to wake up. Johnny, with sleepy eyes and messy hair, walked into your room and helped you wobble out of the room. You were cradling the bottom of your bump.

  The entire gang had decided to stay over at the Curtis house when you’d reached 38 weeks pregnant. You were, now, about 40 to 41 weeks. Well, that didn’t seem to matter now that labor was starting.

  “Oh, shit.” The words followed the sound of the screen door slamming shut. Darry was in the front of the house looking extremely frightened. His face was pale and Two-Bit didn’t look too alright either. You paused slightly and looked at Darry carefully.

  “What’s wrong?” Your mind began to go into hyper drive. Darry pointed over his shoulder and you looked. A white substance had overtaken everything with a different color. It was above the porch’s steps and the truck looked submerged. You felt your knees begin to buckle.

  “There’s five and a half feet of snow and it’s the middle of the night. The roads are covered and we’re snowed in.” Darry’s pale face made sense now.

  “And I’m in labor. Oh my god.” You were ushered to the couch. As soon as you sat down another contraction hit and it was worse than the first couple. You grabbed onto the arm of the couch and breathed in deeply instead of screaming.

  “You’re having contractions?!” Ponyboy’s eyes were wide and he looked wild.

  “Of course she is! Why do you think we’re trying to get her to the hospital?” Dallas exclaimed. Pony shook his head violently.

  “No! When was your last contraction? Besides the one you just had?” Pony asked. Everyone was watching you and Pony with tense bodies.

  “Less than two minutes.” You stated softly. Pony looked at Darry with a serious look. You could see the gears turning in the youngest Curtis’ head. He scoffed and motioned to you.

  “She would have given birth in your truck. You wouldn’t have made it to the hospital even without the snow.” Pony stated and began to shift his weight from one foot to the other.

  “Aargh!” You gripped the couch’s arm and gritted your teeth. Someone’s hand was on your shoulder and another grabbed your free hand.

  “What do we do?” Soda asked urgently. You breathed out once the contraction ended and tried to relax against the back of the couch.

  “We’re birthing the babies.” You stated dryly. You heard seven people gulp suddenly and simultaneously.

  “We don’t know how!” Steve exclaimed. You shot him a look and then looked to Pony. Pony was counting on his fingers and mumbling. You knew a plan when you saw one.

  “Okay! We need towels, hot water, scissors, blankets, and rags!” Pony exclaimed and everyone scattered. “And coffee! Alright, we need to move her to a bed? She can’t give birth on the couch, man.”

  Johnny and Darry helped get you to Darry’s room. They pulled the sheets off of the bed and helped you onto it. You rested your head against the headboard. Oh, god. It was really happening. It was really time. Darry held your hand as you had to pull your pants off. You did and let the large shirt, it was Darry’s old one, cover your body down to your thighs.

  “Alright, got the towels, blankets, and rags.” Two-Bit rushed into the room and plopped them down onto the foot of the bed. He pushed two rolled up towels under the bend of your knees and stuffed pillows behind your back. You were sitting up now and holding your stomach. It felt bad already and you weren’t even pushing yet.

  “Aghh!” You clutched Darry’s hand and started breathing through another contraction. It lasted a hell of a lot longer than the other ones. Soda brought a bowl of hot water into the room and put it on the nightstand beside the bed. He took your free hand and began rubbing your right shoulder. You exhaled once the contraction ended.

  “Alright, let’s get started!” Pony walked in the room and his face immediately turned pink. His ears were like little beacons. You suppressed a yell as another contraction tore into you. You were in pain, to say the least.

  “What’s wrong, Pony?” Soda asked. Darry turned his attention to his youngest brother. Pony hesitated and pointed to your legs. They’d thrown a blanket over your legs so you didn’t have to feel so exposed.

  “You need to check and see how far she’s… dilated.” Pony stated. Another contraction hit and the two boys by your side couldn’t move.

  “Check and see, Pony. We’re stuck here,” Darry squeaked out. Your knuckles were white from clutching their hands so hard. Pony made his way to the foot of the bed quickly. You were in the middle of a contraction and didn’t care. The other boys, Two-Bit, Steve, Johnny, and Dally were standing in the doorway by the upper part of the bed. They watched apprehensively as you braced through your muscles pulling together.

  “She is,” Pony lifted the blanket up slightly and squinted through his embarrassment. “About five centimeters dilated. I think she’s supposed to start pushing at four?”

  “No! You push at 10 centimeters, Ponyboy!” You exclaimed as you exhaled and relaxed a bit. Soda and Darry exhaled with you. Ponyboy nodded and fixed the blanket to cover you again.

  “Oh, yeah. We might have a while to wait then.” Ponyboy walked toward the nightstand with a rag he’d grabbed from the end of the bed. He rung the water out and placed it on your forehead and he placed another one behind your neck. It felt really unreal that your twin babies were about to be delivered in the Curtis house by a gang of rowdy (wonderfully, of course) greasers.

~~~Time skip a few hours~~~

  “Dammit, Pony. Check!” Johnny shouted. Pony, red in the face again, checked to see how far along you were. His eyes widened and he raised up quickly.

  “She’s about 10 centimeters. She can push now!” Pony exclaimed. The boys started chattering in the doorway excitedly. You groaned horribly and clutched Dallas and Steve’s hands. Darry and Soda had called a break for themselves since you’d nearly broken their hands. They were hoping some of the snow had melted and that they could get you to a hospital. It was warmer, but there seemed to be more snow than earlier. It was a blizzard out there. The first snow storm of the year and it decided to happen at the same time as your labor.

  “Alright, are you ready?” Steve asked. You nodded and sat up a little bit more. Sweat was running down the sides of your face and you were ready to get the babies out of you and into the world.

  “Alright, Y/n, push.” You rolled your shoulders back and began to push. You felt movement, like a baby was being pushed into the world. It hurt like hell. It felt like you were pushing a watermelon out of your body. It was excruciating, yet it was the only way.

  “I see the baby’s head! I see the-” Pony’s eyes rolled into the back of his head and he collapsed onto the floor. You screamed out in pain and someones hands were placed on your knees. You looked up and saw Two-Bit and Johnny at the foot of the bed. Steve had let go of your hand and was pulling Pony into the hall. You felt yourself fold up and you pushed more. The baby was lodged, almost.

  “I can’t push anymore! Something’s wrong!” You cried out the words, red in the face. Johnny looked at the crowning baby.

  “I can see the top of the head. I think the shoulders have jammed the movement. Try to push!” Johnny patted the top of your knee and you ground your teeth. You tried to push, but it was like you were being torn open. You grabbed Johnny’s arm an pulled him close to your face.

   "That is not how it works.“ You growled. Johnny’s eyes widened and he began to blush and his mouth moved up and down, but no words came out. "Now, you are going to put your hands inside of me and pull this wonderful fucking miracle out of me.”

  “Yes, Y/n.” Johnny grabbed for the baby’s head. He rotated the shoulders and the baby just slide out. It wailed and you felt it kick you in the thighs a bit. Two-Bit was just staring at the baby with wide eyes. You groaned and sat up a bit more. You could see the baby moving between your legs.

  Two-Bit snapped out of it and pulled out his switch blade. He grabbed the umbilical cord and separated it so the baby could be moved. Darry was ready with a blanket nearby. He swaddled the baby and held it close.

  “It’s the girl. One more to go, Y/n Curtis. One more!” Darry was crying softly and rocking the baby in his arms. Soda was whooping from the doorway, Steve and Dallas were patting your shoulders, Johnny was recuperating himself with a sip of his coffee, Two-Bit was cleaning his switchblade, and Pony was still unconscious.

  “Take deep breaths and then we’re going to push again.” Johnny placed his hands on your knees and you took in a few more breaths. You started to push again. You were screeching as you felt movement again. Johnny was ready this time and rotated the baby’s shoulders. This one didn’t cry. You didn’t feel any tiny feet kick you and it was like the world was holding it’s breath.

  You sat forward and tugged your hands free. You picked up the baby carefully and started patting it. Maybe it was choked up or maybe it was just unaware. You felt something tugging at your chest as the quiet of the room continued.

  “Y/n…” Soda’s voice was thick and cracked. You were crying now, too hard to do anything. Dallas took the baby from your hands and patted it like he was trying to burp it. A hiccup sounded out and wailing began to sound throughout the room. The baby boy was crying.

  “It’s a boy, in case you didn’t know.” Dallas said with a roll of his eyes. You were sobbing happily as Two-Bit cut the umbilical cord with his switch blade.

  “What happened to the scissors?” You asked. Two-Bit grinned broadly and patted your knee.

  “We couldn’t find any. I improvised.” You laughed and saw Darry start making his way toward you. The blanket was across you legs now and you were leaning against the bed. You felt exhausted, honestly. Darry gave you your daughter and let you hold her. The boys were all sitting on the bed, piled around you.

  “Well, what are the names?” You grinned as you looked down at your daughter. Darry was looking down at your son. You motioned for him to come closer. You whispered the name you liked for the girl and he whispered the one he liked for a boy. You both nodded at each other.

  “For our girl- Ophelia Jellybean Curtis.” Darry stated. The room nodded in agreement. “We can call her Beans for short.”

  They all looked to you. You smiled and licked your chapped lips. “For a boy- Bellamy Chase Curtis.”

  Everyone was all smiles and giggles. Ponyboy was starting to stir in the hallway outside. You remembered grabbing Johnny and gave him a side hug. He tensed before hugging you back. “Sorry for being rude earlier. Birth does that to a person, I guess. You alright?”

  “Yeah, I’m fine. I just delivered two babies at the age of sixteen. I kinda feel… good. Thanks for getting pregnant, Y/n.” Johnny stated. You pursed your lips and glanced toward Darry.

  “That was all Darry’s doing. I just laid there.” You laughed at Darry’s ruby red face. Johnny laughed behind his hand. Dallas coughed and broke you out of your laughing.

  “Next time you conceive your children, make sure that the birth isn’t on a snow day. Honestly, guys.” Dallas stated and the room agreed. He was wiggling Jellybean’s toes, which caused her to kick him. He grinned mischievously. He cooed at her and threw his tough guy reputation out of the window.

  “Happy Birthday, you two.” Uncle Soda smiled as he was given Bellamy to hold. A nice and tired chorus of Happy Birthday was sang throughout the room. You looked at Darry and kissed him sweetly. He smiled behind your lips, his stubble scratching your chin.

  “I love you, Y/n.” He sighed and you handed Beans to Johnny. Two-Bit had already called dibs for next. You kissed Darry’s nose and relaxed against the headboard.

  “I love you too, Darry.”

my experience with caffeine

~ This is a long post so if you don’t want to read it, I understand. There are some interesting things to hear if you are considering quitting or cutting down on coffee/caffeine here. However, all the things that I have put into this post are from personal experience and should not be taken as a professional or scientific fact. I am merely putting this out there because it’s just an interesting thing I’ve been going through during the past couple of months and I wanted to put it down. Also, there are certain drinks and certain companies mentioned in this post. They do not have a correlation to the situation that I was in. They just happen to be the things that I was drinking/the places I was going during that time. Thank you :3 ~

So, I have been a fan of coffee for a long time. I had started to drink it in high school, but I wasn’t a cup or two every day. It was more like a treat for me whenever we went to the mall or something.

After that, when I got into college, I legit was having two to three cups of coffee a day to keep me up and wake me up in the morning. And while that was all well and good, I found that the more that I would drink, the less it would effect me after a while. This is natural. You drink enough coffee, soon it takes more to wake you up.

Yet, unlike a smart person who would’ve thought to cut back, I just went stronger. This is when Starbucks introduced the Flat White. Which is, essentially, shots of espresso and milk. That’s it. And let me tell you that is what I drank for a long ass time.

At first, I would have maybe two shots of espresso in the drink a day. Yet, after a while, it got to the point where I was having 3-4 shots of espresso a day.

Let me put this into perspective of how bad that is.

If I had 5 shots of espresso in my drink, I would’ve been at my daily limit recommended for caffeine for the day of my age range. And due to my asthma and stimulant use, I would’ve been at risk for adverse effects such as heart palps. 

Let that sink in.

5 shots of espresso is all it would’ve taken.

This is also on top of my 40mg of ADHD meds that I’m taking. Yep, that’s right. I was having 4 shots of espresso daily on top of, essentially, a chemical that was a member of the amphetamine class. That’s no good.

Now I was drinking coffee/espresso like this for a long ass time. Like months. And then I realised that I was starting to develop addiction symptoms that weren’t unlike me when I was in college and smoking. I needed a coffee or I would be irritable, angry, and lethargic. And I would just not talk to anyone at my workplace until I got my coffee. I was that bad.

** I would just like to stop here and say that no. I am not equating my coffee “addiction” to someone who is severely addicted to drugs in any capacity. It was not that bad. I was not “jonesin” for the coffee at any point. I am merely finding the similarities between my smoking habits in college to my coffee habits later in life. **

Alright.

So, after I started to see that, I realised that I needed to cut back. Like completely. So, I did the only thing that I knew that I could do.

I stopped.

I stopped ordering Flat Whites. I stopped drinking coffee in general for a long time and I switched to tea. Now, tea has caffeine in it. At least the tea that I drink. But it doesn’t have nearly the large amount that I was drinking regularly at that moment in time.

And I started to feel better.....after the weird symptoms I had.

I legit got the shakes at one point. I got irritable. I was angry and the most tired that I think I’ve ever felt. I even threw up one morning (and subsequently gave myself a panic attack cause I thought I was preggers, but that’s neither here nor there). I got so irritable that on a day that I was working from home I put my cat in the bathroom for about an hour so that I could vacuum in peace. Why did I do this? Cause she was bapping the vacuum while it wasn’t even running (no, don’t worry, I didn’t throw her in there or yell at her. And I did take her out when I realised I wasn’t actually mad at her).

I had experienced these types of symptoms before.....when I quit smoking. (see ** message above)

I was going through a very very very minor version of withdrawal. Withdrawal from caffeine.

That’s when I knew I had to stop.

I was on tea for a long time. I think I had been two months without a cup of coffee save for the few here and there when I went to visit my parents. And even then, I didn’t finish the whole cup. 

Now, let’s fast forward to these past three weeks: the three weeks of allergy hell I’ve been living in. I have been tired from allergies. I was being late for work. I needed a push. So, on a whim, I decided to try the new Iced Flat White and other iced espresso beverages that were at Starbucks.

Just one or two a week to get me through allergies right? Wrong.

Holy crap did something super weird happen y’all.

Well, what happened first was poor self control. I actually missed how I was on coffee that I went from one or two a week to one a day again. And, it was close to 4 shots again. Yeah, I know what yer sayin. Way to go, Beck.

But I have chastised myself enough about that.

What is weirder is that after the first week, I started to get very nauseous in the afternoons. Like, bedridden, gagging, dry heaving, sweaty nauseous.

During the first week, it was just once maybe twice.

Yet, the next week, it was every day. Now, I can’t be gettin nauseous every afternoon. I have shit to do. So I decided to test something out and get all scientific.

For the past week, I did a test. I drank my normal tea for two days. And then I drank my 4 shots and coconut milk for the next two days. I did that for about a total of 3 days each (two tea, two coffee, one tea, one coffee).

What I realised is that my body was not too happy on the days that I was drinking coffee. And it was completely fine, albeit a bit more tired in the afternoon, on the days that I would drink tea.

So, after compiling the “data” that I got, I realised something. My body was getting nauseous due to the caffeine. I had “quit” the high dosage for so long, that introducing it back into my system wasn’t like riding a bike. It was like taking an adrenaline shot to the face after sleeping for about 12 hrs (I know not scientifically correct, but that’s how I felt).

After this, I decided. Nah. No more. So, I’m back to tea in the morning and coffee as a treat.

I am going to miss the coffee. I do love espresso and my family are coffee nuts and snobs to the max. But, I think that there is something to be said about cutting back on something in order to benefit yourself as well as maybe taking a moment to appreciate something.

I found that the times that I did drink coffee after cutting back, I would appreciate it more. It wasn’t just coffee. It had different scents and flavours and aromas. Something I didn’t appreciate before when I was using it to just beat the fatigue.

And it has even given me a chance to experiment with more tea. Something I have been wanting to do for ages.

Now, if you made it to this part of the post, wow dood you didn’t have to do that :3. But, it means that you are either curious or you are going through something along this spectrum.

And if you are going to glean anything from this personal experience, let me just leave you with this: Your body knows what the fuck is up better than you do sometimes.

• Listen to it. • Learn the signs. • Do research on dosages and side effects of certain chemicals in foods and how much you should be having for your weight/height/age. • See if you should even be having that much of that chemical/food/drink if you have a preexisting condition or are taking medication (turns out I shouldn’t have been having that much caffeine ever due to being on the ADHD meds I am on) • Don’t think that you can just get over it or muscle through it.

Your body knows how to run itself. Even if you think it doesn’t. Listen to it. It could be telling you something super important.

TL;DR

Was ingesting too much caffeine for a long ass time. I stopped after realising how bad it was for me personally to be doing that. It sucked. Got back on that horse during allergy season. Suffered for it. Now back on only tea and coffee for treats. LISTEN TO YOUR FUCKIN BODY IT KNOWS WHAT’S UP FAM.

Hi guys, well let me start with what happened first. I am a college student and so I live in an apartment and park my car next to a whole bunch of other cars. I parked my car in a completely empty spot with no cars at all, and I saw that it was completely fine. Macabre Movie Mausoleum: Friday the 13th Part 3

Geekade is in full spook mode! Our 31 Days of Halloween celebration is about halfway through but that isn’t going to stop Jason Voorhees. Today my faithful gravediggers and undertakers, we take a look at Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D!!! That’s right, Jason has joined the 3D craze that swept up most horror franchises of the time. Let’s see how it fared, shall we?

Friday the 13th Part 3 (1982)

One of my favorite things about the Friday series is that each sequel competently recaps the previous movies in a nice way. I don’t see many horror movies doing this, and it’s a nice touch.

The movie starts proper, and we are in 3D hell. I’m going to review all of the 3D upfront here, so we can focus on the movie later. Remember, this happened way before the current 3D technology existed, so you have to watch the movie with those stupid-looking red and blue glasses on. What this means is that all the color of the movie is skewed greatly. Depending on how your eyes are focused, the blue van would look red or green, but very rarely actually blue. They utilized the 3D nicely in some of the kill scenes, but more often than not, it was an annoying gimmick used for cheap thrills, like when one of the characters plays with a yo-yo that repeatedly ‘jumped’ at you. About halfway through the movie, I had to switch to 2D because the gimmick was annoying and the color distortion was distracting.

This movie takes place the day after the last movie and starts with an injured Jason, (remember, he was hit with a machete in the shoulder/chest) finding a change of clothes at a local store near the lake. The store is owned by a couple and is attached to their home. The woman is watching news about what happened in the previous movie, while her husband is stalked by Jason in the bathroom. He’s killed with a meat cleaver after not wiping following his shit. (something that repeats in this franchise)

The man’s wife briefly investigates what happened to him, but after not finding anything she goes back to watching the news. She can’t find one of her knitting needles, which obviously means she soon dies by having said needle stabbed into her skull. This whole sequence exists just to show how Jason got a new shirt. I wish today’s movies put that much effort into their plots as this movie did for one throw away scene.

Next we’re introduced to the main group of characters, Chris who is returning to her family’s old house on Crystal Lake, her boyfriend, a pregnant couple, a stoner couple, and two characters that are being set up on a blind date weekend. They drive by the convenience store that Jason attacked earlier in the morning and see the bodies being carted off. Shelly, the guy being set up on the blind date, is quickly revealed to be a horror prankster; pretending to be a killer or a victim and things like that.

Soon after arriving at the house, Shelly and his uninterested date, Vera, go to a different convenience store, and run afoul of three bikers who attack them and their car. In retaliation, Shelly drives over their bikes, and speeds away. Back at the house though, the bikers catch up to them and plan to burn down the barn, but two of them are quickly killed off by Jason with a pitchfork. The third tries to surprise Jason, but is beaten with a lead pipe.

Chris and her boyfriend, Rick, head off on their own, and she explains the reason she left the house is because she was attacked by a deformed man in the woods, and she’s only returned to confront her fears. Unfortunately, the bikers managed to siphon the gas to their van, you know, before they were viciously murdered, so now they have to walk back to the house.

In a hockey mask and harpoon gun, Shelly tries to scare Vera by the lake to get her to like him. It's like that kindergarten mentality of pulling the hair of the girl you like, but as adults and resulting in her fearing for her life. Anyway, Jason kills Shelly by slitting his throat open, and steals his mask, and this is how Jason gets his iconic look. Later, Jason shoots Vera with the harpoon gun practically from across the lake, showcasing one of the few good uses of 3D in the movie.

Moving into the house, Jason moves onto his next targets. First is Andy, who is walking away from his showering pregnant girlfriend on his hands for some reason. In reality, the reason is so Jason can chop him between the legs with easy access, and it is brutal. The best death scene in the movie so far, despite Vera’s death utilizing the 3D tech better.

Debbie, the preggers, gets a knife in the chest (can’t hurt the belly) while laying in a hammock.

Next up, the stoner couple. First Chuck goes to the basement to investigate the black out, and after surprisingly getting things to work, Jason throws him into the fuse box, electrocuting him, and killing the power to the house again. Back upstairs Jason impales Chili (yes her name is Chili) with a hot poker from the fireplace.

Finally getting back to the house, Chris and Rick find the place messed up, but no blood or bodies. It’s at this point I’ve formed two theories about Jason. 1. He can teleport. It's the only explanation of how he travels so fast while only walking. 2. He must have been so abused as a kid for making messes that even now, as a hulking monster, he remembers those punishments which is why he’s so good at hiding evidence from people who never seem to find blood until they’re about to die. Exiting the house to investigate the grounds, Rick is caught by Jason and has his head crushed in, with his eye popping out. Kudos to the eye in 3D, but the special effects for the head, look less convincing than those from the first movie.

Being chased by Jason, Chris makes her way to the barn, but Jason catches her. Leading him to the second floor, she pushes Jason out the window hanging him by the neck. With only one way to leave, she opens the barn door to find Jason hanging there, but still alive. He lifts himself to get his head out of the noose, but in doing so his mask rides up, and she realizes he’s the one who attacked her in the woods years ago.

As he’s about to kill her, Chris is saved by the third biker that we thought died earlier. He distracts Jason long enough for Chris to grab an ax, but he is quickly killed off (for good) and Chris chops the ax into Jason’s head, “killing” him.

Much like the first movie, Chris gets into a boat and floats out into the lake to sleep where she has a nightmare of Jason chasing her out of the house, and Pamela Voorhees (with her head reattached) pulls Chris into the water. She wakes up and this never happened.

The cops escort her away, and they drive by Jason’s dead body.

On to the rating…

It’s starting to get repetitive. I know it’ll get worse later on in the franchise, but even now at 3, it feels like they’ve done this before. The movie was by no means bad, but it suffered from repetitiveness.  I mean, for god’s sake they even ended with the same drifting to sleep while on a boat bit from the first movie.

None of the characters felt three dimensional, and this is in a movie where 3D was the whole gimmick. Bad puns aside, the characters weren’t fleshed out enough, and the one that was, Chris, had a backstory that made no sense. After getting into a fight with her parents, she runs into the woods. While there, Jason stumbles upon her, and he attacks her. She survives ‘somehow’ but when she woke up, she was back home. Everyone said she imagined it, until now when she’s confronted by Jason again. Not once do they go into what Jason was doing in the woods that night, or when in the movie timeline this would have happened, nor do they explain how she survived and got back to her house while unconscious.

The bikers that appear throughout the movie are meant to be throw aways just to pad the runtime, but they added nothing to the story overall.

By this point they should just set the entire lake and all of its surroundings on fire to prevent any more Jason attacks.

But wait, there's more! Come back next week for The Final Chapter! No, really! It's the final one!
