I didn't mean this particular scene or by the end of the manga but BEFORE that obviously. Ranma's character development is never stopping and that's what I love the most about his character: he's willing to learn and I do believe he knows himself too. After all, you need to if you try to be a master of martial arts.

Independently of the curse itself, parental pressure played a role in this idea of what a man is supposed to be. First, Genma and his mother made a freaking pact to make a MAN™ out of him. The alternative is DEATH. That alone would put things into your teenage head.

Despite this, he inherited his mother's kindness and he's genuine. Those parts can be seen as feminine in the most traditional ways. He wasn't raised to expose these qualities to the world, which makes him awkward at times when he wants to be nice to Akane for example. To be fair, he turned out fine as far as traditional boys go. He can be a jerk but he's a good kid who has actual affection for all these crazy people coming at him and Akane. If they get into trouble or ask for his help, he'd probably assist them.

Ranma wishing to be a FULL man isnt something new but the reasons evolve as the story goes on. Not necessarily because he changes or because he meets new people but we, as an audience, learn more and more about him.

You cannot ignore that this kid who didn't see his mother for ten years and lived in his father's fear of disappointing her for the whole while he was cursed, deeply wished to cancel this part of him so he could get home and see his mother again (and get rid of one more threat to his life). This reason surely existed before she was introduced. Because, as you said, Ranma has no idea what a home is. His mother was initially home. Now, the idea of Home is Akane and what brought them to be together. You cannot tell me he didn't put it into his head, one way or another, that for him to deserve to stay there with her, he had to be a Man™.

Isn't an explicit notion but the simple fact that Ranma mentions getting back to Akane as he is here is a hint that he wanted to return to her as a complete man again at some point. So it was an objective as well until now. It's not insane to interpret it that way, because she believes in him and he learned not to disappoint. But it's okay if he fails this time because he knows that's not really what Akane needs or wants, she knows and accepts him as he is, entirely.

Now he even has a reason not to be selfish, unlike his father. If you stretch it, you can assume that Ranma breaking the curse has never been something that he wanted for himself, it was yet again all about what his parents wanted for him. What always shocked me when I started the show years ago was how docile he was in the first episode. Meeting Akane, he learnt to express himself more and was finally allowed to want and need things for himself. He didn't need to live in survival mode anymore, not just because he had a roof and free food but because people around him are not threatening him on a daily basis. Until then, he never had to make real decisions for himself. Akane gave him a safe space to be who he was and think outside of his parents' unrealistic expectations.

Also, that's just an idea but: Ranma seems to believe in breaking the curse to make Akane happy. I wonder if that's also a way to erase the primordial fight: he lied to her and pretended to be a girl on day 1. Before this event, Akane was very welcoming and nice to him. Probably the first person to act that way towards him in years, mind you. Perhaps it would be a way to make things right.

Martial arts are Ranma's life, but the training trips with Genma were more about survival. In a way, he doesn't start living until he finds a home with the Tendos, but even more, Akane is home. When he's at death's door, Akane is the one who brings him back. She is his will to live.

By Jedi standards, Kavar was a man of action. It was a task to still his movements, to keep his arms crossed and feet set even as the urge to pace crept up on him. The tall Dantooine grasses didn’t help either, itching the back of his thighs even through his layers of robes. 

Master Arekoh Ry made no attempt to hide the quirk of her lips, but she remained silent, allowing the sounds of rustling leaves and idle chatter from the other Jedi to swarm around them. The beads adorning her proud montrals swayed in the wind, reflecting the morning sun like a cluster of stars. 

She had no reason to fret, and neither did he. Kirnet would be unharmed, that he was certain of. She had found a way to run into and stumble out of every bit of trouble she could find since she was brought to the temple. Only three months old, with wide eyes and puffed-out cheeks, and she had already laid claim to every corner and person within the enclave. Master Kavar, seemingly, most of all. It hadn’t taken her long to toddle after him with comical determination, and before he knew it every scraped knee and insult the youngling was responsible for was brought to his attention, as if he had any power over what came out of her mouth.

Force, it had been a blessing when tiny Atris was brought to the enclave. Somehow, the pair had gravitated towards each other, unbending Atris and her flittering companion. Kirnet’s behavior never improved, but at least now she felt mildly ashamed when Atris gave her a disappointed sigh.

No, Kavar knew Kirnet was perfectly safe. The kinrath had all been herded from the cave the Jedi currently stood at the maw of, and the tunnels had been carefully inspected for any other possible dangers.

Yet he still remained on edge. Kirnet had been all smiles leading up to today, practically bouncing off the walls as she followed him around the council chambers. “Mine will be blue,” she stated with such confidence that even he was almost inclined to believe her. “And it’ll be double-bladed.” She quickly averted her eyes when she finished, though Kavar saw they way they had lingered on the two sabers at his hip.

“She’s-” Arekoh’s wrinkled eyes snapped to him, and he knew that she had just been waiting for him to break the silence. “She can be emotional.”

The togruta shrugged. “And I’m sure that you also were when you were a youngling. That is what being a padawan is for.”

“Atris isn’t.”

“Atris doesn’t make friends nearly as easily. Or enemies,” Arekoh added with a light chuckle. “We all have our strengths. I will never lead a Republic battalion, just as you will never uncover the secrets of ancient history. The Force has plans for us all.”

“And what if that plan is to deny her a future with the Jedi?” A knot uncoiled in Kavar’s chest as he finally spoke the words aloud. Kirnet, with all of her charm and quick wit, was middling in the Force. She showed decent proficiency with the training sabers after Kavar guided her hand, and there was no youngling as nimble as her. But theory? Technical application with the Force? The ability to listen to any amount of wisdom? Kavar had done all he could to prepare her for this moment, but despite himself, he was worried.

Either she emerged from that cave with a kyber crystal, or she didn’t. 

She would not be fine if she returned empty handed.

Arekoh smiled fully, seemingly pleased as she flashed her sharp canines. “Ah. Now we get to the heart of the issue.” She shook her heavy montrals. “Many of my padawans barely passed their trials. Many were the last to emerge from this very cave. But look at them now! All of them on their way to becoming fine Knights.”

Kavar pressed his lips into a thin line. Arekoh was a talented Master, he could never deny that, and her aptitude with padawans was proven time and time again. It is why she was trusted with four padawans at a time, all now excelling in their studies of the Force and history. 

Kirnet pulled on a kath hound’s tail before Kavar could finish his lecture on their dangers. Kirnet had stolen his short saber and taken it apart as he slept because she was simply curious.

The breeze picked up, washing cool air over Kavar’s face. He closed his eyes, relaxed his tense shoulders, and pushed any bristling thoughts about Arekoh’s probing tone from his mind. “Yes,” he eventually answered. “I know.”

“You are still young.” Arekoh clicked her tongue. “And yet are already an accomplished Master and a member of the Council. Any padawan would be lucky to be under your tutelage.”

“I’m not taking a padawn.”

Arekoh’s brows shot up, but Kavar focused only on the sound of her beads clinking together. A blade of grass brushed infuriatingly light against the bottom of his robe. “I see.”

The conversation stilled as the first youngling returned from the cave, her silver hair streaming behind her as she held a crystal aloft. A round of encouragement rumbled from the assembled Jedi, and Atris walked briskly towards the group, chin raised with obvious pride. Kavar could see the way some of the Masters looked at her, many without any padawans of their own, all shining eyes and heartened smiles.

Another youngling emerged, and then another, until nearly the whole group was back, clutching their crystals close to their chest. Jedi mingled among them, patting backs and laughing, each of them making plans on who would become their own to train. Kavar remained rooted in place, as did his companion.

Minutes passed, maybe hours, as the sun soared overhead, catching the light of a hair clip as the last youngling emerged from the cave.

Kavar had been certain that they had cleared all of the kinrath before, but now he wasn’t so sure. Kirnet was caked in dirt, her long braid undone and tangled, fresh cuts all along the palms of her hands. But she beamed at him as she stumbled forward, something clutched tightly in her bloody fist. 

Atris sprang forward, and the two girls giggled as they hugged. Immediately Kirnet’s crystal was out, and she ignored the way Atris wiped down her previously-pristine robes as she held the translucent object to her snowy hair. “See? We match!” The wind carried her excited voice to him as she pulled away.

Arekoh joined in the chorus of claps, a small smile tugging at her lips. She shot Kavar one last glance before stepping forward. Kirnet looked at her with wide eyes as the togruta leaned down. They glanced past her a few times, confused as they landed on him, but soon enough Arekoh’s shoulders were shaking with laughter as Kirnet recounted her adventure with wild movements.

Kavar kept his feet set, even as the urge to move crept up to him.

rose is quick to read post-irony as actually being a joke/insincere, which in bro's case would be true. but i believe dave's natural instinct, outside of the influence of bro, is to read post-irony as genuine, which is exactly how mom serves it. we see this as early as act 3 from him; he understands her motives better than rose does herself:

but the thing is, it's always genuine from her. dave wouldn't have to second guess it because he's not one to naturally second guess someone's sincerity; that was learned due to his bro being virtually unassailable

there two types of ironies at play here:

seems like a joke, is actually genuine (roxy)

doesnt seem like a joke, is actually a joke (dirk)

you can make the argument that the second is is more psychologically destructive because it makes you question the reality of what is genuine sentiment and what isn't. dave never knew what was genuine and what was irony so he just sort of existed in this sincerity-ironic limbo and always did the opposite of what he genuinely felt on principle even if it always did originate from a genuine place.

"it just a joke bro i was just being ironic i dont actually x" is so much more trust-breaking and psychologically damaging than "wait are you being serious" / "i am being so fucking fr rn davy gravy" / "ok thats actually pretty fucking awesome. giant ass wizard statue" / "RIGHT"

how much about dave would change do you think? his character arc would be completely different for one thing, i think he'd have it good aside from mom's alcohol issues. he'd be left with the sweet and funny parts of him that we see at the end of the comic. the fake coolguy stuff is out, but this remains. this is dave in his element and we see it as early as act 1

he'd probably have no shades growing up in the lalonde residence* either cause those were given to him by bro straight out of the crater as an extension of his own cool image. and john gave dave ben stiller’s aviators for his 13th birthday to replace them so he could “spread his wings”

dave said he was wearing them for the ironies but i kind of doubt it. maybe post-irony but there was some reacharound to it being genuine because dave never put those pointy anime shades on his face again.

*though... it’s kind of hard to imagine him without his shades at all? dave is actually a lot more genuine and easy to read than he lets on even when grappling with his upbringing with B1 dirk (again, see this post). this can be seen all throughout he comic but a good example is the evolution of thoughts about his interest in the preserved dead things in his room:

if B1 roxy was dave's guardian he probably WOULD have pursued paleontology because she wouldve indulged him in it and probably find it cool and worthwhile to pursue, instead of allowing dave to flounder under ironic detachment, being poisoned by irony to the point of gaslighting himself into believing he doesnt actually believe he thinks this shit is cool. even if it was indulged in this such a way; a superficially kitsch and ironic appearing presentation, it comes from a genuine place and inspires genuine interest. just read the comments.

basically, i think if B1 roxy raised dave, their relationship would have a surface level appearance of being bizarre or over-the-top but they’d have an unsaid mutual understanding that it’s completely in earnest and just build on each other's funny and absurd gestures of affection. rather than seeing it as one-upping each other, it'd more like collaboration of some silly bullshit that you take a step back and look at full and just say, "fucking incredible"

my crippling obsession with Elio is back at it again so here's some takes and theories

i think elio's main strength isnt his curse/blessing to see the future but his monster ability to analyze the situation accordingly and read people's emotions/thoughts. Since his ability only allows him to see the multiple possibilities of the future, that means he still has to maneuver his human resources optimally on his own.

He seems to be great at mind games, knows how to read people's hearts as sam said, and appears to be a pragmatist who doesn't mind sacrifice. i mean we're talking abt the guy who foresaw the crisis of the luofu long before the matrix could ever and did nothing, the one who orchestrated the fall of Jepella Brotherhood so that the Annihilation Gang succeeds it only for them to fall too and allow acheron into penacony, the one who foresaw sunday's plan and only acted last minute. all because the time had to be right.

and ofc i'm going to mention his concept art, i know it was a deal breaker for many but personally? I LOVE IT. A master manipulator hiding behind high trusting features and his young age? i know this point of view goes both ways but i think him being young (by anime logic he looks YA to me) actually adds more depth. Elio has always been fascinating exactly because he's mysterious, there's many possibilities to what he's truly like. A boy who witnessed the demise of the universe in nearly every possibility, doomed by fate yet fights against it. does he curse his powers? does he feel obliged to go through all this? or does he latch into that tiny hope he saw? does he not care for the innocent or is he like kevin who realized sacrifice is a must?

i also initially expected him to be an older man but im used to young anime prodigies lol if anything him being younger sets him for doom and tragedy.

Aside from his physical appearance, i think we all agree that Elio is the black cat, but lemme cook here....im 100% sure (would be funny if im wrong) that Elio doesnt physically move from his HQ. why? cuz they always avoid mentioning his appearance. not when he recruited kafka nor with SW, the only 2 so far that elio personally recruited.

in kafka's case it's implied that elio would converse with her through the ball, and it also further implies that elio works with 'contractors' who arent part of the SH, some speculate the rest of the umbrellas on kafka's splashart might be them.

heck i even believe the rest of SH dont know what elio looks like. it makes sense that elio would be cautious and hide his identity, he even uses another alias. this world has factions that can manipulate and access memories after all.

About his powers...idk why there's this misconception in the fandom? but we can simply conclude from kafka who's the second in command and the only other person to swear loyalty to elio that both of them do not believe in a predetermined fate.

actually nvm i know where the confusion comes from, it's the script. how the script works is still a mystery but in kafka's companion question she answers by a no (truth) to whether fate is predetermined, that alone is the answer to elio's belief. if else why would he waste his time trying to change a fate that cannot be altered? So he's lying to his companions now? kafka says his powers see the many possibilities of choices that merge to make the present. i dont think the script is part of his powers but just his compiled knowledge of the actions ppl will take, and many of those choices and actions converge to create the same result, therefore there's a fate that can't be escaped and that is the script, and that's the only destiny that exists.

now in the SU, there's an interesting occurrence :

Fuli adresses us as Elio even though we are akivili in the SU, this lead to theories abt elio being akivili but i'd beg to differ. fuli also addresses us as nanook. so are we saying nanook is akivili and elio? i think this links fuli with elio more than anything and here's how :

We know that elio is trying to kill nanook, and to that he created TB with the help of an unknown aeon. Elio's powers might seem like they're a gift from terminus, the aeon of finality, elio could have the identity of an omen vanguard, but his design just like sunday's has some Order elements, making him a potential follower of the order. Fuli being on Elio's side makes sense. there's no way elio can know of ppl's existances in this very vast universe solely from watching intertwined fates. SW only caught his attention after she proved herself against screwllum, meaning he isnt able to know of everyone. and his ability doesnt allow him to peak to the past, so he cannot possibly be aware of everyone's deep desires right? thus fuli granting him their memories allows him to understand better how to reach out to them. let's take sunday's letter as example, how is elio aware of the dove and how much it meant to sunday?

i think fuli's message means something along the lines of time is running out. on the other occasion of fuli's appearance they show us a memory of kafka hmmmm

but wait! it gets better. i was reading fu xuan's lore and i couldn't believe the extra possibility, here's this :

"The girl did not open her eyes, yet she could already see the world around her condense into solid form from nebulous mist, see all possibilities fade and leave behind the solitary, absolute, and faultless "choice." "

isnt this awfully similar? indeed there's differences in their powers and how they use them. fu xuan uses the eye to see the one true possibility from all the others, with it she can keep exploring the many possibilities, this at least is very alike.

do you realize what that means? nous actually isnt just a space robot, they cook, they cook too good and they might be the one on elio's side which is CRAZY to say the least. if fuli can help elio see the past and know of things he otherwise cant know, then nous would be able to do the same because they know everything there's in the world, and can help modify TB to store the stellaron. ISNT IT CRAZY?? MAH BOI IS FAVORED! but that only convinces me that terminus is more and more useless lolz

also we see fu xuan possesing a third eye, in elio's case his eyes are totally changed, unworldly.

think it's worth mentioning that fu xuan isnt able to see TB's future meanwhile elio is able to and even a supposedly unreliable heliobi :

this isnt the first time we were compared to nanook or told that we will ascend i just don't have the proof lol, with that in mind what does elio want to accomplish? maybe TB was created in naook's image? from their memories? so that someday we overtake them...maybe Elio might've created a person who wouldn't deviate from his script to ensure their ascension. Kafka never told us the 3rd way to kill an aeon .

On another hand ppl are speculating that the one who talks in the dreamscape pass is elio, im not sure abt that tbh...they mentioned aha twice for me to think it might be sampo lol but elio makes sense, and if it's truly him then oh god he is silly lolol

some also say the voice of narrator at the end of penacony might be elio since CN recognized the va, i play in jp and i think it was shimono hiro? i was like this is too popular of a va to be giving to a narrator TT

Also it seems like some plot points are inspired from a game called ghost trick (IT'S GREAT!! AND I FEEL RLY EMPTY INSIDE) once I finished it I finally understood something that I didn't before, what it meant for terminus to go to the past to recite the prophecy of the future. Not spoilers dw

We've all seen Sora take the kids and marry Zeff or leaving Zeff custody of Sanji but hear me out: Sora doesn't die and is the one to break Sanji out of the dungeon and escapes with him. They're in some no name town in the East Blue and Sanji sneaks on to Mihawk's little coffin boat to loot him and take it back to his mom and gets caught. Mihawk walks him back to Sora who apologizes profusely and Mihawk can see that shes ill and that they're clearly out of their depth and for whatever reason, his mind cannot fathom it honestly, he offers to take the Kuraigana with him. Sora and Sanji agree too, for whatever reason, maybe they're scared because they know who he is, or they're just that desperate. Either way they agree and leave with him.

They make a supply stop a couple islands away because Mihawk realizes they have nothing except a shared back pack of clothes and that's it. Sanji is trying not to hide behind his mom from Mihawk but he's a kid who's been through a lot and Mihawk reminds him of his brothers and Judge. Mihawk gets them a few outfits and picks up some more food because of how thin they both are. When they check into an inn and Sanji's asleep Sora finds Mihawk and thanks him and says she had to save her son.

Not even a month after they're all settled in his home Mihawk finds himself extremely endeared to this duo and hopes they never leave, it takes him another three to say it and Sora cries happily and Sanji nods. Sora has taken over most of the cleaning and Sanji cooks with Mihawk a lot and Sora has improved greatly. The dynamic isnt perfect by any means but it works for them. Sometimes Sanji's nightmares will wake Mihawk up before they wake him up so Mihawk will sit with him until they do or he calms down. Sora knows a lot about caring for weapons and instruments so she'll tune the piano or clean his antique swords.

Woops Mihawk is in love and suddenly has a wife and child he didn't think he would and Newgate is going to laugh at him. When Perona appears Sora confirms it's not her pink haired daughter but she'll take another. And then look! Zoro's here, Sanji's nakama and the kid Mihawk almost killed, how charming. Zoro's really confused because Mihawk in the castle is different from the master training him and he's a lot softer and kind towards Sora. Sora asks them both about their adventures in pirating and such.

Zoro asks point blank if she's Sanji's mom and she laughs and mentions how that's so Sanji to not talk about them and Mihawk mentions how smart that is because otherwise oops, they're either down a son or Mihawk's bounty is unfrozen. Sora jokes that need two more to make up for the other two she has and Mihawk tells her that they cannot keep collecting kids.

Zoro is absolutely gonna kick Sanji's ass.

That's a whole-ass fix right there, damn! I actually love any au where Sora doesn't die, I don't wanna see her go ngl hahaha ':)

And I genuinely think she can melt almost anyone's heart. But have you thought about the Sanji repressions??? He's already canonically bitchy but now he'll have all the sass from Mihawk as well????? I think that'd be absolutely hilarious!

Plus that would mean that Mihawk was going to the Baratie to check in on his son, that's so cute omg :') And that could also be an excuse for why he didn't kill Sanji's "new friend" during his fight with Zoro.

Also Sora adopting Perona during ts makes me so happy. She would brush and braid her hair thinking if she'll ever have the chance to do it with her biological daughter. So that only makes her want to savour every moment with Perona while she can. And I think Perona would love Sora as well, she loves cute and pretty things so they'd make a great dynamic just absolutely driving Mihawk up the wall by redecorating... or as he calls it "ruining the aesthetic" or his castle.

Also... for the haha's: Sanji knowing way yoo much about swords would confused the hell out of Zoro. Not to mention that once Zoro finds out about his connection to Mihawk, I feel like he'd want to fight him even more than he already does. Bonus if Sanji is actually a really skilled swordman.

Suya thinks it’s weird cause she’s not good at reading people

SO she tries to just get Twilight calling him like he’s not the demon king and notes he’s good at making tools

So she gets dragged on their fishing trip

But she doesn’t get the point of it

They try to scold her over it

Because of Suya the two have a heart to heart where this is resolution and SUya gets to eat with them

Suya is hanging out with Twilights dad who appears like a child and Suya is unaware just enjoys playing with a cute kid, but musican is trying to stop her from revealing too much, yet SUya just always seems to talk about Twilight

She thinks Twilight is fine as he is and sees how he’s changing

This chapter is the absolute cutest

Twilight wants to check in on the demon school undercover and they realize Suya is the most suitable amoung them to join him, reluctantly

God. thirteen-year-time-skip era lwj talking to ned 🥺🥺🥺. or post-canon lwj talking to stannis if u want something less heartbreaking - altho you would have to put in plot reasons for lwj to not just leave.

or if we want to think more parallels - hi wwx and dany!!!! oh my god!!!!! and also when it comes to parallels it doesn't actually need to be those particular characters interacting - eg dany would immediately remind lwj and jc of wwx.

like. concept - for plot reasons, post-canon lwj and jc end up in planetos and have to grudgingly cooperate to get home. they turn up in slavers' bay (either where the portal dumped them or on their way to asshai to find a way home) either in the middle of dany's conquest or soon after she's decided to stay in meereen. then - oh god massive fight over whether to stay or not that very quickly turns into a fight over the resentment they have for each other over the whole wwx-wens debacle. i mean the parallels are obvious - dany = wwx, slaves = wens, dragons = yin tiger seal, etc.

lwj: we should stay to help. this girl is doing the right thing and we should help her.

jc: um, no??? we need to get home and not just abandon the people we love for some strangers. going against orthodoxy never works, she can't win this fight permanently. everyone will turn against her, she'll lose everything, and so will the people who care about her.

lwj: if the people who care about her stand with her then maybe she will win this fight. and even if she doesn't, if they really care about her then they'd prefer to die with her rather than profit from abandoning her.

jc: well maybe they have other people they care about as well and standing with her would put those other people in danger and if she really cared about them then she would stop this madness and come home

anyway they end up staying - there are slaves from all over the world here, maybe someone has useful info; these are very old cities, maybe there's useful info to be found here; waiting for the dragons to grow and then flying to asshai is def safer and might even be quicker; idk the important part is that they stay and want to help. and then maybe it all goes a bit better bc jc actually has experience in ruling and like. rebuilt lotus pier from basically nothing. + lwj to help with doubts and uncertainty. just. i want good things for dany 🥺🥺🥺. also they're used to wwx so their opinions on crucifying the masters would probably be along the lines of like. wow so restrained.

ok so the au (still unnamed) taking place in a slightly canon divergent season 5 MORRO is currently after the realm crystal in his attempts to bring the PREEMINENT (?) to NINJAGO and like destroy it or whatever, solid stuff. except whats different here is that MORRO does not go and posses LLOYD as his first step because he'd struggle more as a human than if he were a ghost so he and his ghoul gang decide to get the hard stuff out the way, the ninja chasing them to put a stop to him obviously. also in this au NYA is not told by WU that she is the water ninja, instead she receives her awakening when defending one of the team from a ghost and then hes like omg :0 !#!%#!$#??

the au starts off with the mission to retrieve the realm crystal on time (before MORRO) because even if he beats them to everythinf else MORRO cant do anything without the crystal. unfortunately for them !!! MORRO is already a few steps ahead and when they reach the resting place of the FSM they find the ghost, crystal in hand. boom boom battle !! and theyre all fighting anf there are ghosts everywhere (NYA is not here bc remember KAI isnt supposed to know hes the water ninja yet) and MORRO is very clearly goig after LLOYD. wait, ok wait i need to type up my thinking process rn or else it wont make sense when i read everything back bc isnt only a spinjulistu master able to find the tomb,,,,, ermmm OK LLOYD possesion- no i cant do that to him. its an au whatever, so yeah MORRO'S in there crystal in hand going after greenie and KAI kicks in yk the brother stuff so theyr fighting anf stuff and like idk MORRO knocks KAI off his feet anf starts heading towards LLOYD again so as a last ditch effort KAI fires towards MORRO and it hits the crystal aaaa ! even thought i cant possibly imagine the crystal being so weak i can just say the power of love made him stronger bc those tight family bonds (im a sucker 4 found famiky but who isnt these days). and then its kinda like the scene in SONIC PRIME where the prism goes boom !! and theres a shockwave and it looks cool and then u see SONIC traversing through the SHATTERVERSE 4 the first time and then he ends up in NEW YOKE, except its KAI landing in the PRIME EMPIRE CITY with all his friends looking different and jazz. the whole mission is to retrive the realm crystal shards and put them back 2gether so he can get home and finish the fight with MORRO. for the og universe i kinda just imagine time stops so 4 the ninja itd look like KAI disappears for a few moments and then comes right back. as i did mention when i was vaugely describing universe 1 (PRIME EMPIRE divergent i hope im usong that word right btw) KAI doesnt stay long in that universe so just like in SONIC PRIME he will return to some universes, whether on purpose or not, to retrieve the shards

Saw THIS post and I had to make a rant about it so here we go-

Generally in life people pick up traits they are exposed to for prolonged periods over time- especially in abusive relationships. (Of any kind not just romantic)

Those traits are rarely recognized as being learned traits by the person who learned them- however in this case it goes a little deeper for Katherine. Ive made my case and pinpointed examples and facts on my stance that Katherine is BPD. This is actually a new argument for that.

This seen here is called mirroring. It's a common trait in BPD and something often used for survival in social situations. She is mimicking him and she doesn't even always realize that. Katherine's number one goal at all times is survival. Yes she and Klaus thirst for power and control but the difference is Klaus wants to have all of it everywhere and Katherine just wants enough to be safe. She doesn't want to be a ruler she doesnt want to be the king of the quarter- Katherine wants just enough power to be in control and be SAFE. She has no gigantic ambitions like Klaus does. She punishes if you betray her because in order to get what she wants, in order to have her control and safety people need to fear her just as much as they fear KLAUS. She cant afford to be the "lesser of two evils" because in the end being the lesser means they fear Klaus more and are likely to betray her.

Shes learned over centuries how Klaus thinks, how he acts, shes spent countless hours exposed to and studying his behaviors because she HAS TO. WHy do you think she out ran him for 500 years? Because she can think like him, shes HAD to learn for her survival.

What do we see in the two places we actually get to see katherine settled in? In 1864? She wasn't doing anything in that town but falling in love and trying to ensure the safety of her and her friends. That was their home first and foremost, there was no masterful Klaus style plan. All the power Katerina had, all the pull it was just to be able to cover up their existence so they could live in peace.

When we see her hiding in that little town? Yes she has control over everyone, but look at the things she compelled them to do. Keep her secret. Feed her- AND!!!!! She even respected boundaries. The lady Elena talks to? She looks so shocked when Elena goes for her neck and explains that she had asked katherine not to feed from anywhere but her wrist and the shock implies that Katherine listened. She compelled them to keep her secret, feed her, and then the one to hide the cure. After that she was hands off, not pulling puppet strings. She didn't even compel everyone to try and kill anyone looking for her. That is not the same as Klaus' drive.

All of her Klaus like behaviors she had to learn for survival, and over the years shes internalized the things shes had to do and sometimes she really does think shes a monster because of them but she never wanted to be. All Katherine ever wanted was to be loved the way she loves and to be SAFE. And while a lot of Klaus' actions were driven by his fear of Mikael he is not the same as Katherine. She laid low, he made voldemort look like a care-bear.

Katherine did what Stefan tried to do in season 3. She had to become the better villain in order to stay safe and thats exactly what she did in a lot of her schemes. She made the right people afraid of her, built a reputation to scare people into thinking twice about betraying her, and she punished when she had to, but over all? She and her actions will never ever come close to Klaus' level because Katherine ISNT A VILLAIN Shes an anti-hero at best just trying to stay alive in a world where her abuser has a seemingly infinite reach.

She mirrors him because she knows him better than almost anyone (besides his siblings) "Humanity is a vampires greatest weakness and no matter how hard I try to shut it out, it always comes creeping back in" this right here. THE REST of that "matching" Klaus line is IMPORTANT because its a big part of what sets them apart-

Katherine has never once shut off her humanity ever. Klaus disdains love and humanity as a weakness and he goes out of his way to prove he has none and cares nothing for it outside of his family, which he also routinely turns on in a way that suggests he does not understand the concept of love completely.

However Katherine on the other hand clings to humanity and love even if she tries to front and pretend she doesnt. Shes not a cutthroat killer by nature she had to become that way, and even in doing so she kept the most important part of what makes her, her. "If we cease to believe in love, why would we want to live?" Klaus shuts out his humanity so he can remain a monster to the masses, Katherine DOESNT shut out her humanity because she never wanted to be like this. Would it be easier for her to cope if she just disregarded her humanity and shut it out? Absolutely. But she cant and she doesnt want to. That line basically said "No matter how hard I try to be I will never be that kind of monster."

"You were a 17 year old girl Katherine. None of this was your fault."

i like to meme on my ocs (and all characters) a lot, but nata is one of those guys i just Cant mention without talking at least a little. she's such an incredible tactician, and very good at boiling down complex dynamics and difficult situations into a formulaic science she can master. but then her mentor dies. her friend dies. he goes into a long dwindling insanity spiral, and she watches it all happen powerlessly (and she has NEVER been powerless before, not like this, but that is an entire other story). and goddamnit she was so close to processing her grief like a normal person. BUT THEN FUCKING BESIR had to become public enemy number one and wildly disrespect the dead guy in the process and also all of his friends. no biggie or WHATEVER. so now nata's had the mother of all wrenches thrown in her nicely laid out future plans. she has a daunting purposed organism to design and an entire local group is in a panicked frenzy around her. there's a gaping hole of grief in her chest and her anger makes it feel deeper. she has to be extra extra careful with her words because conversations have become battlefields. she has ONE friend she trusts enough to confide in, and shes hesitating on that too because he's entered the tweakathon 5000 and is flying off the fucking wall. and yeah! with all of this going on, she starts biffing some quick time events! she locks up emotions that Shouldn't have been suppressed. she makes brash and aggressive decisions and even indulges in a couple instances of (gasp) hypocrisy. she struggles to keep her head above water, not because there are no right decisions to make, but because shes in no state of mind to make the perfect best-outcome-possible decisions every damn time. ESPECIALLY considering she doesnt know the full extent her actions could have, because shes not a mind reader or an oracle and can't know what's going on in the brains of her peers. her faltering and losing her trademark flawless functionality and analytic prowess is really just a testament to how Fucking Bad the river flows in spring situation is/was. and most importantly, even though it was her compassion, concern, and alliances that got her into so much mental turmoil, her mental takeaway isnt “kindness and friendship is a tactical weakness”, its “woah besir that was a dick move." and also “greed and insensitivity result in misery and complication for everyone involved”, and also "its important to keep others in mind especially before you fucking ATTEMPT TO TAKE SOMETHING THAT WAS BEQUEATHED TO SOMEONE ELSE and start AN ACTUAL PHYSICAL WAR THAT INVOLVED THE (ATTEMPTED) CONSTRUCTION OF A MISSILE LAUNCHER"

nata is such a perfect blend of machinelike, pristine strategical analysis and overwhelming gentleness for her friends and her community. it makes me physically ill. its the pain of her love that fucking SHATTERS her worldview, and yet through it all... even though she's easily one of the people suffering the most out of the entire RFiS situation, she grits her teeth and narrows her eyes and pushes through. she deals with everyone's bullshit. she makes bad decisions sometimes, but shes one of the few people with the sheer force of will to stand up and be proactive and not let this blow over. she is leagues more virtuous than the people who never did the "wrong" thing because they were too afraid to do anything at all.

after everything is said and done, and everyone is humiliated, grieving and quiet... and iterators are dead, and entire regions are ecologically devastated, and blood has been tracked up and down and there is no place where the filth does not invade: she brushes herself off, huddles everyone together, holds close the little dignity she is left with, and says: "okay, everyone, let's try again."

she has such a specific personality that i have struggled with encapsulating for months because she really does feel like a whole living person in my brain and trapping that complexity and nuance is so hard to do even in thousands of words. shes so.. sharp. intelligent. resilient. intimidating. KIND. watching bereavement and extreme emotion interact with someone who is so good at self control is like watching an unstoppable force meet an immovable object. it is a FASCINATING battle and the fallout is devastating, and this is just ONE CHARACTER in the RFiS related story.

phil lets everyone dress up for the halloween weekend as long as they wear the nametag and hat

tubbo dresses up as a bee (it matches the pin on his visor :D)

tommy tries to “dress up” as schlatt, but gets denied as soon as he walks in the door

wilbur, the shift lead, decides that tommy can just. wear a sheet over his head with the eyes cut out

he has to wear the hat and nametag on the sheet tho

wilbur, quackity, and fundy decide it would be hilarious to all wear their uniforms backwards

hats, shirts, aprons, pants, it’s all backwards

wilbur asks fundy if hes gonna wear his fursuit (this is before the philza smackdown)

fundy is Not Pleased 

the dream team + karl dress up as hogwarts students

instantly the favorites from all the kids who come into the store

technoblade dresses up as a vampire 

isnt allowed to ring people up because of the fake fangs

eret dresses up as a king, also attempts to wear those like 5 inch platform heels

the reason he cant is because he kept hitting his head on things

the proofer incident

one time tubbo was sick and couldn’t work his shift

everyone else was busy so phil let tommy and wilbur work it alone

since tubbo always bakes the bread, tommy had to do it

(for context, you have to proof bread before you bake it so it rises)

so tommy placed all the dough in the proofer to proof

but he didnt set the timer right

cut to a few hours later

the two are just finishing up a big rush when wilbur looks into the proofer

“tommy, you do know how to set the timer on the proofer, right?”

“what timer?”

niki decides to hang up a bunch of sticky notes on items around with the store with the german word for it

fundy and quackity begin to do the same for dutch and spanish respectively

phil tells them as long as its in the back room he doesnt mind

speedrunning sandwiches

dream is hella good at making sandwiches

prides himself on being pretty damn good at his job

one day he hears rumors about a worker from another subway store who is super fast at making sandwiches

dream, curious, asks what location and decides to pay a visit to this newfound competitor

when he gets there, he meets illumina

the guy is just so fast at making sandwiches

dreams internal monolouge: “oh, this is my new rival”

as illumina is making his sandwich hes just like. mentally taking notes

he starts going to the other subway like about 3-4 days a week

everytime he asks for illumina to make his sandwich

every single time

time skip to two ish weeks later or smth

dream has made way too many google docs and spreadsheets over this

once he was editing it on the company computer and sapnap caught him and just stared in horror

he goes into the subway to order another sandwich and asks for illumina again

as dream is paying illumina kinda asks

“hey, so uh, is there a reason that you come in here like every day and always request that i make your sandwich?”

dream just. Freezes

its a weird conversation

the kitten incident(s) -an expansion on an idea by @trademarked-but-not-really !

schlatt, despite the façade he puts up, is a big softie

one time he finds a tiny kitten on his way to work

in a split second decision he just. brings the kitten to work

places the cat in his cubby behind his sweatshirt

during his lunch break he goes to the back room to play with the kitten

quackity catches schlatt holding the kitten and baby-talking it

“who’s a good kitty? you are! you-”

“uh, schlatt, what are you doing?”

quackity gets so much blackmail

“if you tell anyone about this you’re dead.”

quackity uses his blackmail to get out of so much stuff

after that incident, schlatt gets better at hiding the kittens

there are still some slip ups tho

phil: “is that cat hair on the floor?”

schlatt, hiding a kitten in his apron: “no... hopefully”

after his shift he always brings the kittens to the local animal shelter

he also volunteers there during his free time

one time niki comes in to adopt a cat and walks in only to see schlatt holding 3 small kittens

one in each hand, and another climbing up his shoulder

they just -stare- at eachother

needless to say, another person gains blackmail on schlatt that day

trade-offs

tommy, tubbo, and wilbur haggle and trade doing certain tasks

mainly sweeping the store and stocking the chips display

these trades get VERY intense

“i’ll start on freezer pulls if you sweep and mop” “only if you do prep work tomorrow” “deal!”

“i’ll let you bake bread and cookies if you also stock the chip display” “ugh, fine”

one day phil comes in to do inventory just to see the three boys standing by the task list screaming at each other

luckily only bad and skeppy were in the shop

schlatt and wilbur origins

when schlatt  first started working at subway, he always got paired with wilbur on shifts

(this is before tommy and tubbo started working at subway)

they got along like a house on fire

they always made up bets to complete while they worked

on their first shift alone they decided to play a hellish rendition of “the floor is lava”

whoever lost had to buy the others meals for a month

skeppy and bad agreed to be the referees for the day

they took extra chairs from the back and placed them around the shop so they could get around without touching the floor

they even put chairs behind the bain (the area behind the counter)

after they set everything up, the game began

from then on, they spent the whole day perched on chairs

customers were

very confused

to say the least

many tasks were done poorly or not at all in an attempt to win the bet

the two survive until the end of the day with no major failures

in a last ditch attempt to win, schlatt made a dramatic final speech and pushed wilbur from the chair he was standing on

skeppy recorded the whole speech

unfortunately, wilbur hit the floor just as phil arrived

the manager in question was PISSED

wilbur and schlatt were banned from working together in the future

SuyaLight Master Post Part 14

I really like these two there’s not a lot of content for the fandom as a whole soooo here’s my submission as I get every moment of these two royals who literally share a braincell (and I love them for it) First up this is just on the manga if you are anime only its going to have stuff you havent seen, yes even with what the anime covers (so read it) and there will be spoilers so beware. SO Suya pulls Twilight along on her nonsense and also father inlaw is here

ANd it's all cause she had a dream about this bath place

No matter how ridiculous he thinks it is he keeps following, also Suya admits she interupts meetings on purpose

Suya's dreams turned out to be true and she jokes a little

Turns out the former king had made it and the three enjoy it all while father and son bond

Suya calls Leo an old man again

Castle issues again I just like how Suya is front and center but Hades doesnt want to help this time

So Suya makes due

ANd it really impresses Twilight

SO she starts making little houses she knows what Twilight cares about

But she overworks and hasn't eaten I love how over the top Twilight is here

SO they make her food and Twilight serves her directly (now spoon feed her sorry its one of my fav tropes)

After she revitalizes Suya Suyas and goes over board making a castle town

And Twilight realizes she's completely right and berates himself for not thinking of it

He cutely makes it into a competition

But while he focuses on that SUya turns the demon castle to suit her tastes. In order to fix it Twilight has to use his full power and he's afraid to do so because he doesnt want other (particularly Suya) to find him scary

He thinks his fears are being realized

But SUya is just severely face blind

The situation is explained and Twilight is back to worrying

But as always SUya throws him through a loop I like that she considers him pitiful

This eases the mood of everyone else but more importantly Suya seems to like this form

And she begins playing with him like usual

Twilight realizes that everyone has calmed down over his second form since Suya did

He is touched by this thinking he'll be able to maintain the state of the castle while looking cool but

SUya ruins it.

Okay, hold on because this is kinda long.

For context, this is all based on the legendary film, DEBS. You can watch the trailer for it here . And be captured enough by the trailer to go watch the film.

Is it corny? Is it stupid? Isnt it bad? Absolutely, but I just love this film and it's a cultural reset.

Now that's out of the way, let's start with the cast and setting before I can answer any further questions. The whole thing is sorta close to the film, but with some differences.

Jasmine is part of a team in the super secret organisation called DEBS, one that recruits through a secret part of the SATs that measures discipline, energy, beauty and strength. She got a perfect score, something that just doesn't happen. Everyone has expectations of her and what she's supposed to do with her life, and it's a bit much. She's recently broken up with her narcissistic boyfriend.

Kerri is the dependable leader on the squad, who takes her role very seriously. She's very preoccupied with the safety of her friends, and always has her eyes on the mission. She's loyal to the organisation to a fault, something that occasionally clouds her judgement when it comes to helping out those she cares about.

Nicky is the French sex obsessed spy who talks in what Jan has dubbed "frenglish". She's an expert in both close combat and artillery. She also has a terrible smoking habit.

Jan is the energetic but ditzy friend who would do anything to help those that she cares about. She even helps Jasmine out by covering for her. Though she doesn't say, she has a little thing for Camden's main henchman.

The skimpy outfits that are the uniform

Lady Camden comes from a long dynasty of criminals, and is the sole heir after her father passed away. No one has met Camden and lived to tell the tale. She's planning on sinking Australia as her grand master plan. She's been out of the public eye for about a year, until she's rumoured to be meeting up with Angeria to plan her next move. She leaves flower petals whenever she's done a heist.

Rock is Camden's right hand woman who, while being a little stupid at times, still manages to get things done. She organises blind dates for Camden, in the hope that she can finally be happy.

Neither willing to back down, the two get to talking, guns still pointed at eachother. Jasmine blabs about having written a thesis on Camden and her exploits, something that intrigues her. The two click and they both drop their guards and guns. Camden leaves when Jasmine's friends come to save her from an allegedly crazy murderer.

The two meet at a stakeout where Camden is out having dinner with Angeria from the Vanmichaels dynasty. Camden feigns being sick and tries to leave the premises. Thinking her cover is blown, Jasmine singlehandedly goes after Camden. Seeing she's followed, Camden grabs her gun and shoots at Jasmine, alerting the others that there's a scuffle. Jasmine draws her own gun as she continues her pursuit. They end up in a blind alley, with no way to hide or escape without turning their backs on eachother.

Unable to get Jasmine out of her mind, Camden breaks into their house and gets her to go with her. Jasmine is a little apprehensive, but ends up going with her. Jan finds the two walking to Camden's car and insists to come with, to make sure Jas is safe. Jasmine manages to convince Jan to go back inside and not to tell a soul about this. Jas and Camden feel a magnetic attraction, but Jas is afraid of the consequences of being found out. Camden suggests staging a kidnapping, so that if Jas ever wants to leave she can with no consequences.

Everyone is out looking for Jasmine, while she's living the freest life she's ever had, doing things she's always wanted. Camden isn't actually as evil as people make her out to be, and the line between good and evil are blurred out.
