Reassurance
summary You comfort Evan after he has to deal with his parents over the course of four days.
word count 730
tags fluff, just someone being there for my bb buck, short and sweet
a/n So basically I was watching the Buck Begins episode and died every minute where his parents neglected him and generally every second of that episode :( so expect some more Buck fics to come (Eddie too tho !!)
masterlist
You didn't know but you were probably the sole reason Buck wasn't completely breaking down every day he wakes up and has to deal with the two people that call themselves his parents.
After the first dinner he had felt bad, but he'd felt like he usually does with them. Alone, unwanted and never enough. That day he'd come home to you, quiet and dull.
You hadn't made him talk about it when he didn't start explaining himself, instead you simply wrapped your arms around him and held him close. That's when he'd felt loved. That night he waited until you had fallen asleep before letting himself cry.
What did he expect? For some reason he had hoped they'd changed. Or at least that they would be proud of him. After all, he'd saved a lot of people and does so every day. Instead he is reminded that they hadn't bothered to check on him when he almost died twice - first by being crushed and second because of the blood clots - and then laid in the hospital.
Those were the people supposed to love him no matter what and all he got was constant criticism.
That night you had woken up not long after him because of his missing warmth. With a worried expression you'd found him and once again, held him close. He had melted into your arms, tears starting to fall again as he clutched you close as if scared to lose you.
After reassurance you would gladly give any day you had gone back to bed, your hand on his cheek and caressing his birthmark.
Today you hadn't even known Buck would see them or be confronted by their doings. The last time you'd heard about them was when he explained that he had a brother. That he was only conceived to be a match for a bone marrow transplant.
That night had been harder than the one before. You're quite sure no matter how much you tried to show him that he wasn't just a failed way to save someone you don't think it got completely through to him. And you didn't blame him; you couldn't imagine living with something like that weighing you down.
You're in his kitchen trying one of Bobby's recipes when the door opens and Buck comes in. You could read him like a book; there wasn't a moment you weren't able to tell what he was feeling. But now? You genuinely didn't know.
He was frowning but there's a smile resting on his face and his eyes are red.
“Buck?”
He looks up, seeing you there in his sweater with a knife in your hand as you chop vegetables for a recipe from Bobby he loved, and he breaks. But instead of simply crying he chuckles, too.
“Buck, what's going on?” Your voice is worried and he just shakes his head as he wraps his arms around your waist and presses his forehead to yours. You put the knife down and reach up to cup his face and your index finger soothes over his birthmark, something you'd made a habit over the year of being with him.
“I think they're finally accepting me for.. me.” He only says and you sigh but nod. He notices your slight apprehension and quickly adds on, “But I don't want them to. I don't need their acceptance. They don't decide how much I'm worth.”
Your mouth forms an ‘o’ in surprise but you laugh breathlessly and nod, “Exactly. You're saving lives on the daily, you don't need anyone to tell you how good you are. Not your parents, not your friends, not me.”
He nods along until the last part where he cocks his head and looks at you with his signature half smirk. “I do need you to tell me how good I am, actually.” That makes you smile as well and you sigh, “That's not what I meant and you know it.”
He just shrugs and unlike when he first came in you can see pure happiness and love on his face.
“God, I love you so much, Evan Buckley.”
He grins and surges forward to kiss you passionately, his hands gripping your hips as if you'd slip through his fingers any moment.

Hai could I get fo4 complete reaction to the sole survivor being very big on giving praise? Like they're constantly complementing the companions but not in an overbearing way :) thank uuu
FO4 Companions reacting to the Sole Survivor's praise:
Cait
At first, she’s incredibly suspicious. Compliments? From someone who doesn’t want anything? She’s waiting for the catch.
Once she realises it’s genuine, she gets flustered and awkward, brushing off praise with a “Yeah, yeah, don’t go getting soft on me.” But she starts subtly craving it.
Eventually, she starts preening a bit when she hears it, standing a little taller. “Damn right I’m good at this,” she’ll say, with a small but proud smile.
Codsworth
Absolutely adores it. He lives to serve, and knowing Sole appreciates him fills him with robotic joy.
“Oh, you are too kind! I do try my best, of course!” He starts adding a little flourish when serving them tea, trying to impress them.
Might even get a little smug when others don’t get as much praise. “Ah, not everyone can be as meticulous as yours truly!”
Curie
Delighted and fascinated by Sole’s positivity, especially when directed at her scientific skills.
“Oh! You really think my work is amazing? That is… oh, you make me blush!” She absorbs every word like a sponge, eager to impress them further.
Over time, she starts paying the praise forward, complimenting others in the group in an adorable, awkward way: “Yes, Cait, you… hit that man so well! Such force!”
Paladin Danse
Completely unsure of how to process it at first. Praise was always tied to performance in the Brotherhood, not simple appreciation.
Starts standing up straighter, subtly shifting into parade rest every time he is praised. “That’s… good to hear, soldier.”
He may not say it, but it means something to him. Eventually, he starts seeking approval in small ways, hoping to get an extra “Outstanding work” when he pulls off something impressive.
Deacon
Smug as hell about it at first. “Oh, stop it, you charmer, you’ll make a spy blush.”
But deep down? It gets to him. Compliments aren’t something he gets often—especially not genuine ones.
He starts responding more sincerely over time, quietly muttering, “Y’know, you’re not too bad yourself.” That’s Deacon for I’m touched beyond words.
Dogmeat
Is a dog. Therefore, absolutely loves the praise and thrives on it.
Tail-wagging intensifies with every “Good boy!” until he’s practically vibrating.
Starts bringing the Sole Survivor even more random junk from the wasteland, tail wagging proudly as he receives his due recognition.
Gage
At first? Suspicious as hell. Compliments in Nuka-World usually meant someone wanted something.
Eventually, he starts accepting them at face value, though he plays it cool: “Yeah, well, I am pretty damn good at what I do.”
But if he ever hears a genuine “I trust you,” that’s it. That’s the moment he realises he’s actually loyal to them, no strings attached.
John Hancock
Drinks it up like the finest chems. “Oh, you really do know how to sweet-talk a ghoul.”
Starts playfully fishing for them. “I dunno, was that a badass move or the most badass move?”
But after a while, he stops playing—he just enjoys hearing them say nice things. It reminds him that he’s worth appreciating.
Robert MacCready
At first? Incredibly awkward. “Uh… thanks? I guess?” He’s not used to compliments that aren’t sarcastic.
Eventually, he starts mumbling a quiet “Thanks” and actually appreciating it. He never realised how much he craved validation.
If they ever tell him he’s a great dad? That’s it. He’s done. Might actually tear up.
Nick Valentine
Smirks at first, taking it in stride. “Careful, kid. A fella might start thinkin’ you like having him around.”
But deep down? It means a hell of a lot. People don’t usually appreciate him as more than an old synth detective.
Eventually, he starts throwing it right back. “Well, you’re not half bad yourself, partner.” And from him, that’s high praise.
Piper Wright
Blushes furiously at first, brushing it off. “Pfft, come on, you’re making me sound cooler than I am.”
Eventually, though? She starts believing it. Starts walking with a bit more confidence, feeling like she is as capable as they say she is.
She starts writing about them in a new way—not just as a legend, but as a genuinely good person.
Preston Garvey
Blinks the first time they compliment him, looking genuinely surprised. “You really mean that?”
He’s so used to being the one lifting everyone else up—it takes him a while to accept that someone wants to do the same for him.
Eventually, he starts smiling more. “Thanks, General. That means a lot.” And it really, really does.
Strong
Confused at first. Why is human saying nice things? What is this strange behavior?
Eventually, decides it is a human battle custom and accepts it. “YES. STRONG IS GOOD SMASHER.”
Might even start attempting his own version of praise: “HUMAN… IS GOOD TOO. NOT AS STRONG AS STRONG. BUT GOOD.”
X6-88
Is initially just... silent. He doesn’t know how to react. Compliments aren’t part of his programming.
Eventually, he just nods at them. “Noted.” But his tone softens over time.
He never outright asks for it, but if they ever stop praising him? He might just subtly start working harder for it.
Ada
Initially confused but appreciative. “That is… unexpected. Most humans do not take the time to compliment machines.”
Over time, she begins to recognise it as genuine appreciation and responds in kind. “Your leadership is commendable. I am… grateful to be part of this.”
Though she may not have emotions like a human, her tone becomes just a touch warmer when speaking to Sole, like she’s learning what it means to feel valued.
Automatron
Default programmed response: “Thank you for your feedback.”
But if they keep it up, the bot might start adapting its speech patterns. “Analysis: Positive reinforcement detected. Conclusion: You are… kind.”
If modified with a personality matrix, the bot might get cocky. “Yes, yes, I am the pinnacle of engineering excellence. Carry on, human.”
Old Longfellow
Grumbles about it at first. “Damn fool, ain't no need to butter me up. Just doin’ what I always done.”
But over time, he starts getting used to it. Starts looking forward to Sole’s words, even if he won’t admit it.
The real moment of breakthrough? When he finally mutters, “Heh. Y’ain’t so bad yourself, kid.” That’s Longfellow for I respect the hell outta you.
Porter Gage
At first? Suspicious as hell. Compliments? That ain't how the real world works. “Yeah, yeah, what angle you workin’, boss?”
But once he realises Sole is just… like that, he starts soaking it in. “Damn. Not used to hearin’ that kinda thing. Feels… nice, I guess.”
Eventually, he starts giving them a nod of approval in return. “Gotta say, boss—you got a way of makin’ folks wanna follow ya. Guess I picked the right side after all.”

Not an ask, but a story about leaving comments -- not long ago, I left a comment on a fic from almost 10 years ago where the author, in their end notes, discussed how proud they were to have finished this fic (it was an incredible fic that was over 100,000 words long because they're a god and I would also just be shaky in the knees if I accomplished something so long and profound); and they also talked in their author's note how strange it was to be the ages of 22-24 when they were writing this fic and how things weren't always easy, and that they hoped the future was bright for them.
I commented about my life, right now, how I came to find their fic a decade years later from when they finished (a little sheepishly, it feels weird to talk about yourself, but it felt important somehow) -- anyways, I also talked about how reading their author's note reminded me very much of how I felt right now, and how different the world is now from 2015, and how this fic made me feel all kinds of nostalgic and good and hopeful about growing older, and how my god they were this good at 22 and I hope they're still writing -- and even if not, I hope all these years later they really are in a better place.
They replied. They replied! I was so delighted! They are indeed in their thirties! and they are indeed still writing! Things haven't gone as expected, but they've got a healthier dose of perspective on life and how to cope with the hard times now. And it was just so heartwarming to hear and learn about them. And to know that they're still around!
Just seeing that, seeing these people who write about hard times nine years ago, and leaving a comment and getting a reply, it just brings so much hope. Because you never know! You never know if someone's still going to be here, and so when they are it's kind of a-- not a miracle, but it just feels like I'm suddenly so very aware of my existence in the world and theirs too and it just -- it MATTERS. And ao3 and fanfiction in general is so unique to most media where you stare at a television or read a book, you can engage with the creator of that thing you're reading RIGHT THEN AND THERE. And you may not get a reply, or you might get this touching response that lets you feel like you're less alone in the world. It's worth the chance, right? That's what building community and stuff is all about! You can make so many friends this way!
And even if they never reply, don't you want them to know how important their story was to you? And it doesn't matter if the story was finished a decade ago or just posted yesterday, there's still a person that's there that gets to see how their art made an impact on the world. I've made a couple of friends doing this -- and even if I'm not making a friend, I hope I make someone's day a little brighter. God knows I'm always delighted whenever someone comments on my fics.
I admit I'm not perfect -- I don't always comment on fics that I read. I'm trying to be better, I've got a list of fics that I definitely should have written a comment on that I've been going through and writing out how I feel about their writing because damn people are just so talented. This wasn't for just leave a comment fest, I admit, but I do love to see your blog and your drive because it is such an important thing for writers.
I didn't know you were doing a valentines day thing, but what a great idea! I wanted to share my experience, hopefully inspire some other people to go out and comment, and now I'm going to go check another fic off my list of ones that I'd like to comment on. Better late than never!
Have a great day! and Happy Valentine's Day Just Leave a Comment Mini Fest!
I AM HOOTING AND HOLLERING I AM PLAYING THE XYLOPHONE ON MY RIB CAGE WHAT A STORY!!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CONNECTION TO HAVE MADE THROUGH COMMENTS!!! WHAT A WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE TO HAVE HAD!!
ANON THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS HAS MADE THIS SKELETON'S DAY

Okay, I just binged the rest of the Hazbin Hotel episodes.
Carmilla and Zestial are hot. And Carmilla is so interesting. I loved her and Vaggie's song. I actually didn't expect them to reveal who killed the angel so quickly. But I love how they're showing that even some of the top overlords in Hell care. The only question now is what Alastor is going to do with this information.
I love Vox. He has a great voice and his rivalry with Alastor is hilarious.
Sir Pentious is such a fucking loser and I adore him.
Nifty almost reminds me of Little My from the Moomins with her little gremlin energy. I don't know if we'll get any serious moments with her like we have with the other characters, but I guess we'll see.
I love how Alastor's room is a literal bayou/swamp. And him eating the whole fucking deer was hilarious.
I didn't expect for some of the others to find out about Angel and Val's toxic relationship so quickly, but I did like how it showed an uncommon angle: how trying to save someone from an abusive relationship can make things worse for the victim. I can't think of any other media off the top of my head that shows that kind of thing. But with Charlie and Husker knowing about this (and Cherri Bomb if we're counting Addict as canon), how long before everyone else finds out? And what are their reactions going to be?
I haven't been the biggest Angel/Husker shipper, but holy hell, am I on board now. Husker once being an overlord and pretty much implying that he sold his soul to Alastor much like how Angel did with Val was a development I didn't expect, as well as drawing parallels between his addiction to gambling and Angel's addiction to drugs. Hell, I really didn't except this angle they took with Husker. We only saw his bitter attitude in the pilot, and we still get plenty of that here, but I didn't expect him to also be a good people reader and being able to see how the other characters really are and what they're hiding. He's almost empathetic in a way.
All of the songs are fucking bangers, Poison especially. I listened to it once before the show and I liked it okay, but seeing it in context, it hits you ten times harder. I almost cried.
The show is so good at making the viewer feel so uncomfortable with how Val treats Angel, it's almost too hard to watch. I've seen shows tackle abuse before and they've done it well, but this was very raw and in your face and it makes your insides twist. And I love it.
Looking at the show's cast, Vivzi got so many people with Broadway experience and I love that. I feel like a lot of popular media nowadays just like to cast popular actors regardless of whether they can actually sing or not (I'm looking at you live action Disney remakes). But every actor who's sung so far is fucking good at it and it shows.
So far, I am in love, love, love with this show. I remember first watching the pilot when it was causing some controversy and I fell in love with it immediately. It almost became a comfort thing for me for a while. I was watching it over and over during 2020 when Covid was running rampant and everything was shit. I'm so proud of Vivzie and everyone else for their hard work and dedication and love. This show is so different from everything else out there. I hope now that it's out, even more people can fall in love with it.

I am all up in my feels about the first chapter from the new Law novel. (I read a translation here.) General reactions under the cut for spoilers:
This seems to be taking place fairly early into the Heart Pirates' career, as we start out with just the OG Four on the crew. And Hakugan is the first recruit.
Law already has a bounty of 80 million berries, and he has his epithet of "Surgeon of Death." Chalic also says he's going to take the title of Strongest in the North Blue from Law. Again, when the Hearts are still just four strong.
Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin originally all wore orange jumpsuits. It was Bepo's idea, and Shachi and Penguin were all in. Law is too particular about his own fashion so won't wear one (😂), but he's fine leaving the others to it to create a sense of unity in the crew. They're very proud of their jumpsuits!
We get one of my favorite tropes: Devil Fruit users going into the water. This, apparently, is the impetus for the Hearts to take on their sea-based combat abilities; they want to not only take on ships from above and below the surface but always be ready if Law goes into the water again. They love Law so much. I cry.
Hakugan is the one to rescue Law from the water, and he does it because he thought Law looked like a "hero of justice." Law scoffs because pirates are hardly "heroes of justice," but he also doesn't hate it either because it makes him think of, amusingly, of Sora (Law, you nerd), but also his parents. 😭
Law goes out of his way to help Hakugan and some fellow villagers who were kidnapped by a defeated pirate crew by bringing them home. Law says it's because he owes Hakugan for saving his life ("Life is give and take," which he learned from Wolf), but Hakugan calls him on it. Law, your kindness is showing again.
Law originally had a graded sword, Koshou, but it broke during his fight with Chalic, and he only had the hilt after going in the water. He's pretty heartbroken about losing the sword. Oh, Law. Always having what you love ripped from you.

When they reach Hakugan's home island (Welbems Island), it has nice weather, so Penguin and Shachi change into Aloha shirts. Hilarious, and also clearly a nod to Wolf.
Law, thinking of Corazon and Wolf, also refuses to let Hakugan (who wears his mask because he has a severe burn on his face from rescuing an old woman and her daughter from a fire) avoid visiting the village chief. He even ruffles Hakugan's hair at one point and encourages him. Softie.
Law spends the whole chapter trying to warn civilians that they are pirates and probably dangerous, and everyone looks at them and goes
Hakugan's parents were killed by pirates who are in control of part of the island, and Hakugan wants to avenge them. Law tells him not to get obsessed with revenge. Trafalgar Literal Hearts on His Sleeve Law. He does, at least, recognize his own hypocrisy as his desire for revenge just keeps growing.
Hakugan has a little sister, Nanagi, who reminds Law of Lami, and he teases her, which feels nostalgic. Just rip my heart out, why don't you. Nanagi gives Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin nicknames but just calls Law by his name; they have a little rivalry going, and it's adorable.

The Hearts spend three days at Hakugan's house, and Law spends his vacation reading medical books and practicing swordsmanship. Giant. Nerd.
Law actually laughs quite a few times in this chapter. There are a lot of really wonderful little character moments showcasing how close the OG Four really are.
Looks like Law will meet Kikoku next chapter.
It's been way too long since Law appeared in the manga, so it's good to get some fresh Law content. That was a lot of fun, and I'm excited for the next chapter!

For the Eddie/Roan/reader series have you written the first time Eddie and reader say I love you to each other? And if not could we get a little blurb for it? Like maybe Roan says it to reader first and Eddie is all like damn, I think I love her too and is just all heart eyes 😍🥰 please and thank you! This series it literally my fav 💕
thank you for your request beautiful ♡ eddie and roan—the munsons tell you they love you for the first time. fem!reader
Eddie's wearing the brand new pair of jeans you got him and feeling like a kid at Christmas. Seriously, this has to be the fucking life. Beautiful daughter, great Uncle, a home he's proud of and a job he doesn't mind, and now he has you, and you like him enough to bring him presents. What the fuck.
They were on sale, you'd said easily, dropping them in his lap with a kiss hello on the cheek. He'd been reading on the porch, didn't hear you coming until you were already there. Where's Roan? I got her a nightie, is that okay?
Said nightie flares pink around Roan's knees as you twirl her. She's standing on the green play table, every rapid footstep wobbling the hollow plastic. In each flash of her face before she turns away, Eddie sees himself —same sugary brown eyes, same smile. You're laughing, the nervous, overjoyed kind, 'cos you both know you shouldn't be doing it but you're not the one who has to say no to her. (Not that Eddie does it as often as he maybe should.)
The jeans you got him are surprisingly soft. They're straight cut and need a little adjusting, but beside that they're perfect. Eddie really, really likes being thought of, trying to squeeze a thank you in between girly giggles.
"This is super dangerous!" you warn Roan, drawing circles over her head with your joined hands.
"This is super fun!" Roan corrects, squealing as you speed up.
One too many spins has her losing her footing, but you'd been expecting it, and you catch her without any fuss. "Woah!" she yelps.
"Woah, I got you," you say, pep unfailing. You're getting better at carrying her, pulling her up your side to rest on your hip.
Roan giggles but otherwise goes quiet, not talking, only laughing as she looks up into your welcoming face. You cushion her legs on your arm so she doesn't fall, your smile turning puzzled. "You okay?" you ask, giving her a bounce like she's much younger than she is, a baby in need of comfort.
"I love you," Roan declares, planting a kiss on your cheek.
"I love you, too," you say without hesitation. Your gaze flickers to Eddie's, but it's not long enough for him to gauge any one emotion.
Roan hums like this has answered a question and puts her arms down on your chest, not quite hugging you, not not hugging you. Your fingers spread over the small breadth of her back. You steal a moment, pressing the fat of your cheek to the top of her head. "Princess," you murmur, "that's so nice. Thank you for telling me. I knew you loved me because you're always showing it, aren't you?"
"I am?" Roan asks.
"I think so." Your smile turns bright, the parentese tone you've been learning like sugar on your lips as you say, "Ooh, I love you so much, beautiful girl! Let's have some cookies to celebrate." Your smile lands on Eddie. "Can we?"
"Yeah. Yeah, of course you can."
You put Roan down. Eddie's lovely daughter immediately takes your hand and together you walk to the kitchen, little steps. Eddie stands there thinking to himself for a few seconds, new jeans and your big heart, a thousand things.
"Hey!" he calls, rushing into the kitchen after you. "Wait a second, Y/N."
You stare at him with wide eyes, hand stopped where it's extended to the kitty cat cookie jar. "Don't tell me there's, like, a fake spider waiting to jump out at me. I can't take it again, Eds, my heart will explode like that freaky movie."
"I love you," he says. Smiling big, not particularly afraid to say it. He's known for a while, but Roan saying it so easily reminded him. He should let you know.
You don't react with any subtlety. Roan's confession was easy, water off of a duck's back, you said it back fast. Now, you're still. Your funny smile is in a pouting frown, your eyes soft with emotion. "Yeah?" you say.
"Yeah. I love you."
"Well I love you too," you say.
Eddie nods nonchalantly, a show, saying, "Yeah, I know," before he drops the facade and crosses the kitchen for you. Roan giggles as he picks you up in a hug, wrenching you from side to side. "You should know already–"
"I do!" you say, wrapping your arms around his neck jubilantly.
"Then why are you asking?"
"I wanted to hear it again," you say.
Eddie smiles into the skin beneath your ear. "I love you. Duh."
"Duh," you say, sounding about as happy as he's ever heard you while he pulls his head back to grin at you.
Roan laughs and pats at Eddie's thigh to be picked up. He grabs her under her arm with some effort and you help to bring her up into the hug. "I love you, too, daddy."
"You should definitely know I love you," Eddie says to her. He tells her enough, three times a day or more. He tells her he loves her when they're brushing her teeth, when they're putting their shoes on, when they're driving home from school. He tells her between mouthfuls of spaghetti and through laughter, Love you, weirdo. "Is this, like, lame if I start telling you both all the time, or am I allowed?"
"Definitely allowed," you say quickly, eyes bright with enthusiasm.
"For sure!" Roan cheers.
Eddie can see the possibilities now, I love you shouted from car windows and down the phone, said into your neck and the palm of your hand. He doesn't know why he didn't say it sooner.

I love the MC nickname options, they're so good! Unfortunately, I am now thinking about Willow even more than I already was.
Thinking about Willow as a child working so hard to come up with a good nickname for MC. Wanting to come up with something no one else will use and being a little possessive over it once they've figured one out. Being so proud of themself. An adult tries to use MC's new nickname and Willow just goes "No! I worked hard on that. Come up with your own!" >:( And the adults all go "Aw, it's so sweet how much Willow loves their big sibling" :)
Willow being even worse about it if MC calls them by an additional nickname (We both have special names for each other that no one else uses! I guess you could say we're pretty close. <- Willow, possibly being delusional depending on the MC).
Willow going by Willow, a name given to them by MC, because every time they hear that name, it's a reminder of their connection to MC (and MC's love for them, in a good relationship). Willow refusing to let others use their nickname for MC because it is an offering of their love laid down at MC's feet. Anyone else speaking that name is a perversion, it is blasphemy, it is a cardinal sin of the highest order. Just Willow Things.
Also thinking about how funny it would be if one of the other characters starts using MC's nickname when Willow shows back up. It would be just. So funny if it was someone that didn't get along with Willow and refused to stop using the nickname even after Willow threatened them asked nicely. And Willow was so nice about it, they promise. They couldn't have possibly been any nicer. Willow is absolutely not grinding their teeth or clenching their fists about this situation. It's fine. They're fine. And maybe the other character only uses the nickname when Willow is around to hear it. Even funnier, tbh. (And of course they'd stop if MC asked, but maybe MC doesn't see it as a big deal, doesn't realize how important it is to Willow, or maybe even doesn't care)
My Willow specifically passes over Sunshine as a nickname because it's too accurate. Other people would want to use it or, worse, come up with it organically. Horrifying. No, they went with Ducky, because my MC loves the lake and swimming, but it's also something that doesn't come up often and they don't advertise, so others are less likely to try to use that one.
(Sorry for the long ask. I'm so very normal about your characters. Couldn't possibly be more normal about them. I love Willow and I want them to be happy in the end, but they need to suffer a little bit first. <3)
Oh, thank you!! I'm honestly not totally satisfied with the nickname options but it's good to hear that you like them!
And I am literally always here for Willow thoughts Willow is maybe my favorite character in the game.
This is all literally so so good. You see my vision for Willow fr.
Because they are jealous and possessive and a little immature. I can't wait to sink my teeth into Willow's interactions with the rest of the cast. They’re going to show up in Easthaven fully believing that it'll be them and MC against the rest of the world. Siblings, outsiders, who will stick together and who don't need anybody else.
Only to find out that, no, MC has been building relationships this whole time. They have friends here. Allies. Maybe even a blossoming relationship or two.
No matter how close they are with MC, no matter how happy MC is to see them, it will never be the two of them against everyone and everything else.
So if they had a special nickname for MC? A name just for the two of them? And then they came into town to find that no, actually, MC tells everyone to call them that. It isn't special anymore, no matter how nice Willow is, no matter how much they ask...
Delightful. Incredible.
Thank you so so much for sharing your thoughts. I love long asks this was great <3
#asks#long post#willow#this ask fr made my morning thank you#now I'm thinking about willow#my beloved...#can't wait to bring them back...

Day & Night. (Sun & Moon Drabble)
Requested By: @luckyyyduckyyy
Word Count: 500
Summary: Being stuck together 24/7/365 had been bad enough, working together is somehow worse. In certain aspects, anyway.
Note: Not canon to CS but utilizes the same personalities! Bri's here too lol Also third person POV bc I don't want y'all to get too into the boys' heads just yet :)
______________________________________________________
"Sun."
No outward reaction from the bot as he continues to orchestrate his craft session.
"Sun."
The slightest twitch of acknowledgement, and perhaps definitely annoyance.
The naptime attendant doesn't bother attempting a third time, instead opting for a more direct, though dramatic, approach.
When he disappears from his yellow counterpart's view, it's under the assumption that he won't be returning. And frankly, he couldn't be happier-
His sensors alert him of a rapidly descending presence from above before his optics do. Though he's unable to stop from flinching when Moon appears eye to eye with him, hanging upside down from the wire he's so proud to show his mastering of.
The night-themed bot's words are as blunt as his stare, "It's naptime."
Sun, despite his urges to do otherwise, remains polite. Or at least, his tone does, "Naptime begins at exactly 2:00:00 PM. I still have 5 minutes, 32 seconds, and 6 milliseconds."
"Light's off at 1:55:00 PM," Moon tilts his head, "You know that."
"I do."
Moon's eyes narrow, "Then why did you start another activity at 1:53:45 PM? Knowing that the children need time to wind down and prepare."
"Oh, did I?" Sun raises a hand to his faceplate, "Goodness me, it seems that without you constantly reminding me I've lost my ability to effectively keep track of time! What a shame."
The naptime attendant doesn't move an inch, "They're going to become tired quickly if you don't allow them to rest. Is that really something you wish to deal with?"
It's now that Sun begins to falter, gaze also implying irritation, "A few extra minutes of playtime will hardly do them any harm. Now too long of a nap on the other hand-"
"So you admit you're purposely trying to take extra time-"
"-Certainly not purposefully but if that's the outcome so be it-"
Both animatronics voices grow quieter but more forced.
"The children need their nap, Sun."
"They also need time to play, Moon."
"Hey, am I supposed to be turning out the lights or what?"
Both bots turn to where the security guard sits at her desk, hand hovering over the light switch with a brow raised.
Moon snickers quietly, too quietly for Bri to hear.
Sun responds for both of them, "Just give us a moment, Officer Perry!" Then lowering his voice to mutter a threat of "Shut it." to the other attendant.
Before his opposite can say what he wants to, Moon rises back to the ceiling again, thus ruining any chance of satisfaction for the day-themed bot. Which was of course the intention of such an action.
Instead, he's forced to receive a message which would have been spoken in the cheekiest, most frustrating, most grating, of voices.
'You have three minutes before I instruct Officer Perry to turn out the lights.
You have two and a half minutes before I decide to just do it myself.'
What pleasant company these two make. One would truly envy who ends up with them.

+*:ꔫ:*﹤Fluffbruary Day 19: Long distance w/Sero Hanta﹥*:ꔫ:*+゚
Word count: 844, gender-neutral reader
Valentines had rolled around once more! The yearly celebration for couples and loved ones to enjoy each other's presence and appreciate one another. Unfortunately, this year you couldn't make it. Living away from Hanta was a struggle when it came to planning. Making sure you both goth each other's gifts, setting up a time to call and trying to enjoy it to the best of your abilities.
Hanta was beaming when you had picked up the call around the time you two had planned on, seeing your face expand on his monitor. You took the first couple minutes to catch up with one another about your classes, hero work and such. "I really wish I could be there instead of on a screen right now..." he said, leaning back a bit in his chair. A low hum leaves your lips, “I know babe, but we're gonna meet up soon you know? Just two more weeks”
Hanta nodded happily, letting out a cheerful sigh "I know... And trust me, I'm looking forward to it. I've been counting down the days for a while now!” he then looked back at the screen, a warm and hopeful look in his eyes "I can't wait to see you again... And to hug the hell outta you"
“haha I bet you will, but so will I; you won't even see it coming” you hold your head in your hands, eyes trained on the screen.
"Oh really now?" he teased, raising a brow at the screen "And why wouldn't I see it coming? You have something up your sleeve that I don't know about?" he asked, smiling and tilting his head to the side as he leaned closer to the camera
“Yup, I'm gonna be extra sneaky this time,” your laughs reach through the speakers in your computers before speaking up “Did you get the gifts I sent?” Hanta's eyes lit up as he heard you mention them "I did! I got them already" He said, a bright smile appearing on his face "You didn't have to go all out for me, really babe!" He added, trying to hide the fact that he was internally gushing over the gifts.
“Aw well I wanted to! I was gonna give you the others when we met up, but I just couldn't wait”
His cheeks started to flush as he spoke "You're too cute, you know that? You really didn't have to spoil me this much, but I'm glad you did" he rubbed the back of his neck
“Of course, I did and thank you for your gifts as well. They're very cute hehe” you hold up the small cat plush in your hands, a small heart on the collar of it.
Hanta's smile only got wider at that, proud of the gifts he had picked out for you "I'm glad you like them! I spent a long while trying to figure out what to get you" he admitted, letting out a sheepish chuckle.
“Really? Well, I appreciate the thought, baby. Oh! Did you buy the cake?”
He nodded, sitting up straighter in his chair "I did! I've got it right here!" he said, before reaching off-screen to grab something, pulling back to show you a small cake on a plate, one of your favorites. You open the box that held your slice, showing him as well. You had gotten his favorite type, something that helped you feel like you two were closer than you were.
His eyes lit up even more as he saw the cake, a wide smile on his face "Wow, it looks great! And it's even my favorite kind too!" he said, leaning closer to the screen to get a better look.
“Mhm, it reminded me of you” you set it down on your desk, grabbing a candle to light on top of it.
"You're too sweet.." Hanta said, his heart rate was picking up a little at the notion. He chuckled absentmindedly as he watches you light it. "God, I'm so gone for you. You have no idea how much I'm looking forward to seeing you in person” A small chuckle leaves your lips, cheeks tinting from the comment, diverting the topic for your heart's sake. “Save the gushing for later, I've been eyeing this cake all day!” Hanta laughs with you, nodding at that and jokingly rolling his eyes "Fine fine, you can have your cake first, impatient much?"
“For cake, i always am” Hanta nodded in agreement as he lit his candle as well "That's fair. I mean, I can't blame you, cake is pretty great" he said, his smile a little brighter as the flame from his candle danced in his eyes.
“Ready?” you looked to his cake through the screen
He nodded excitedly, "Ready! 3... 2... 1... Blow!" he said, the anticipation in his eyes obvious as the seconds slowly ticked down. You hastily blew out your candle, wafting the smoke away, “Another valentines down!” Hanta blew out his candle as well, clapping and cheering in celebration.
"And another Valentine's Day with you, sweetheart"

hi, i love your work! i saw your fic recs for other percy x hunger games crossovers and i was wondering if you had any other pjo fic recs, crossovers or otherwise..? i just really appreciate your taste!! tysm
I've lowkey been waiting for this ask. I read a lot of fanfiction and am very excited to share some of my favorites.
This got long, so I added a read-more
Half-Blood of the Eldest Gods by wearethewitches:
A Mamma Mia! AU, where Sally got busy back in the era of her son's conception. aka, the how (they're gods), who (the gods) and why (heartbreak) Percy Jackson has three fathers.
The Prince of Changing Tides by dcninja:
“I just don’t understand why the Greeks treat him as such a big deal,” Marcel said “Or even the gods. Lady Juno and Lord Mars clearly backed him, and I don’t understand why. He certainly doesn’t look like much.” “Why don’t you just ask around?” she asked him. “Heroes have stories and people are always eager to tell them. I’m sure any of the Greeks could tell you more about him.” “It’s not a bad idea,” Jordan added. “It would be nice knowing exactly why he was part of the prophesied Seven. I know the Venus girl had sorcery and the Vulcan boy obviously had power over fire. But why Jackson? Just because they took a boat?” Despite raising him on a shield, Romans don't know much about Percy Jackson, or even the Greeks in general. As the Legion attempts to recover from the wars, they find out there is far more to the Son of Neptune then they originally thought, and learn quite a few things about themselves along the way.
What, Like it's Hard? by anxious_tofu:
Poseidon mechanically observed Percy as a purple cape was thrown over his shoulders. His son. His wild, reckless son, had defeated a giant alone without any active help from a god when the last to do so had needed three demigods and Zeus’ direct intervention. He couldn’t be more proud if he tried. ----- AKA the gods are bored cooped up on Olympus and have nothing better to do than watch Percy Jackson during the Son of Neptune.
Saudade by TheProfoundSilence:
Percy Jackson is dead. Has been for centuries now. Unfortunately for everyone, Poseidon does not cope well with it and decides to make this everyone’s problem.
to be struck by your electric love by scarlet_sam:
Percy sighed heavily and looked at the sky. “You owe me a hot chocolate and a coffee.” “Perseus Jackson,” the voice drawled out, “normally, I’d mind the Greek name but it does suit you, little destroyer, rolls right off the tongue.” “I didn’t exactly expect a godly intervention when I yelled at the sky.” Jupiter's smile widened at Percy’s sarcasm, eyes twinkling in a way that made him look far too pleased with himself. “I try. Though if you consider a hot chocolate ‘godly intervention’, I must say our greek counterparts haven’t been treating you well.” Or, Hera/Juno decides that she might as well keep her husband engaged in one particular person rather than her recieving multiple surprises and points him in the direction none other than Percy Jackson, who, as she'd heard from Aphrodite, had been on quite the dry spell. Jupiter is instantly smitten. Percy was just in it for the free expensive hot chocolate.
I know, it's a ship I never thought I would've liked, but this fic does it well
Sally Jackson, Daughter of Voldemort, Mother of Percy by Black_Victor_Cachat (Crossover):
Voldemort learns that he has a child who survived the First Blood War, and even if she is a Squib, he can make use of her blood. However he is unaware of his grandchild. More importantly, people will get a sharp reminder just what exactly ‘the Mother of Percy Jackson’ means. Based on the ‘Percy is Voldemort’s grandson’ stories. Post-Trials of Apollo.
Annabeth and the Nine Step Career Plan by feeling_the_aster_9145 (Crossover):
Annabeth Chase does not accept limitations. Everyone knows that. If she wants something, no matter how impossible, she will find a way to make it happen. Though, perhaps she will allow Bruce Wayne and his ridiculous paranoia-induced company restrictions a small portion of the credit. Actually… now that she thinks about it, the man may have had a point in his worries. Wayne Technologies does not accept college interns. Annabeth always has a plan B.

Excerpt from my story! I was recently reminded of shock collars and wanted to post my little snippet of them on my blog
Context: Oscar has been kidnapped by the monster and has been living down in a basement for a few weeks. He's allowed to go outside for a walk, but there is a catch...
"I have a gift for you, my pet!" The beast whispered with an eerie grin. Whenever it gives me a 'gift', it usually has something to do with my suffering. I swallow my fear and ask, "Well, what did you get? I hope it's something to pass the time a little easier." At this point, I've been down here for so long I can barely keep track of the days, and each hour only serves to remind me how much time has been lost.
"I'm sorry darling, it's probably not what you expect, but I think you'll grow to like it." It gets on all fours and clambers over to the coat closet from the couch we are on. The door creaks loudly, as if the hinges haven't been oiled in decades. It shuffles around in the dark room for a bit until it retraces its steps back to me with a proud expression on its horrid face. "Here. Open it. Now." Sensing my hesitation, it growls at me, a usual threat to make me comply. If it keeps growling, then it might just bite. I take a gift and look at its shiny silver wrapping paper with a delicate red ribbon on top. It's so well wrapped i can't belive it. There's no way this monster could gave actually gotten something nice for me right?
I open the box. Inside is a dog collar, and I am quite confused. As if on que, the beast responds to my perplexed expression, "I got it specially made for you! It's your favorite color, lavender. That is your favorite, right? Based on when I was following you, that's what I thought. Well, anyway, this collar has some nifty features. It locks into place, and I have the key right here." It pulls out a small silver key from the box and shows off a weird electronic fob at the top. "So I just have to wear this now? Is that all?" This seems too easy. At this point, I notice a bone shaped dog tag that says my name engraved on the collar. Something is off and I can feel my heart begin to race with realization. "I-is this a-"
"Yep! It's a shock collar! Made just for you, my pet. I know you've wanted some more independence, so I got this so you can go outside." Did it just say outside? My eyes widen, and my mouth goes slightly agape. "No need to thank me, darling, your expression says it all." It chuckles to itself with a haunting laugh that sounds like nails on a chalkboard and picks up the collar. "Let me put it on you! I'm sure you'll look great." It's long claws wrap around my neck, and for a second, I feel like they're about to dig in and choke me. They don't, however, and the collar is gently tightened. I feel two prongs dig into my neck, likely what shocks me. It's a bit tight, and I can't really fit my fingers underneath. But at least it's not hurting, so that's a plus. I have to admit, it's a small price to pay if it means I can go outside.
I am led to the front door and hold my breath. It's been so long since I've seen the sun. I think it's September, so it should still be warm enough in this outfit. I haven't been allowed to wear anything but boxers in the house, but I was given a t-shirt and sandals to go out. It's a simple band tee from the 90s, and I'm not incredibly familiar with Radiohead. I know that really bad Creep song at least. The monster steps in front of me and punches some numbers into a keypad, and finally, the door creeps open. The bright light stings my eyes as fresh air floods my senses. I think I'm about to cry. I run out, run as fast as I can before I realize I've made a grave mistake. An intense shock grips my neck, and i gasp sharply. I take a step forward as i fall to the ground. My breathing runs ragged as the zapping continues. I writhe on the ground and try to get some air in my lungs to no avail. My suffering ends when the monster hops over to me, grabbing me by the back of the collar and yanking me back. "I thought it would be obvious, but I should let you know. Don't get too far away from me and the key, and you won't get shocked. That was just a warning, I'll turn up the voltage for next time." That was a warning? I don't think I could survive anything more.
I lie down on the grass and absorb the sun for a while. It rambles on about how even though I can go out, I have to earn it first. I guess I've been good lately. After an hour of finally breathing the summer air again, I get up and walk around with the beast. It takes me to the woods behind its house first. As we walk and hear the crickets chirp, I realize the sun is going down. I soon notice that as we get to the end of the woods, there is a tall fence. What? So, even if I were to escape the house, there would be a huge fence too? This is going to be harder than I thought. Before the night falls and I can see the stars, I'm brought back inside for dinner. I wasn't allowed to see the front of the house for some reason, but maybe next time.

a reminder.
I don't know if anyone will see this; but.. I'm writing it either way. This is a safe space..
I don't know why I live, but I do know.. that I just do. I don't know how to explain it really; I have a lot of thoughts but.. I just live.
Sometimes, you don't need to find a reason to live, you just kind of have to go with it and live. Maybe you'll find your reason on the way here, and maybe you won't. But either way, you'll live, won't you? I mean, take you right now as an example. You're still here after all these years, maybe with a purpose, maybe not, but either way, after all these shortcomings, wounds, happinesses, rock bottoms, sky highs.. You are STILL here. And I am so, so proud.
And sure, the phrase ''maybe you won't find your purpose'' sounds depressing, I know.. but I don't mean it like THAT. What I mean is; sure, you won't find a purpose, but you WILL find these small sparks of hope.
You'll maybe find yourself enjoying the soft, rainy weather with a light breeze on a peaceful day where you are drinking coffee and find some light, even if so dearly small, even if for just one nanosecond.. you will feel it.
You'll find yourself getting all giddied-up one day where someone's eager to hear your thoughts online about the new tv series you just watched, and doesn't mind hearing you ramble on and on about it. You'll feel something.
You'll feel yourself maybe getting some hope by watching a scene from a movie where there's a metaphor of the character running away from a monster, aka running from despair and finding hope again. Battling their problems. Or by reading a youtube comment somewhere telling you something meaningful.
You'll maybe lift yourself up one day, and feel happiness and go on to share it with others, and feel delight.
You're still here after all this time. You're still here after all. You're still here. You're still here. You're still here.
You haven't let the worries in your mind totally consume you. You haven't let the depression totally consume you yet. You've been battling, and you've been so strong. Even if the last time you motivated yourself to keep going was 2 weeks ago, 2 months ago, 2 years ago.. It still means all the same; you had hope. You found light. You found peace in moments of violence. You found light in the darkness. You found water in the desert. Heck, this might be a silly one, but.. you found the right snack shop in between all the clothing stores at the mall, lmao. And even if you didn't, the fact you tried? Even THAT says a lot, a lot more then you think.
But you found it; and you can find it again. Don't let it consume you now after all these years. You've fought it off those times; you can fight it again. It's only in your mind; but you? You're HERE. With yourself. With us. With everyone. With the entire, entire universe. Physically, mentally, emotionally.. and you are strong, valid, and beautiful/handsome/whatever you wanna be called.
You have to keep going. And I don't feel you can keep going. I don't think you can keep going. I KNOW you can.
It can't come to our world, I promise. It only exists in the mind.
Just.. live.
I have so much more I want to say, but.. I don't know how to express it. But, this comment is already big enough, and I hope it helped someone at least, and even if it didn't, that's ok too cause I said what I wanted to say.
Remember, say it with me..
I'm beautiful/handsome. I'm human, and it's okay to fail. I'm valid. I'm going to be okay. It's okay to ask for help. It's okay to be myself, or try to find myself. I'm still here. I'm still here. I'm still here.
It's okay to not always feel hopeful and happy though; you can be sad, you can be angry, you can be scared, it's okay, you're okay, you are valid. Remind yourself that. But don't stay in those states for far too long either. Don't avoid them, but don't cling onto them as if they're your lifeline.
Please my babies, remember to take care of yourselves. Drink a bunch of glasses of water [preferably 8 - 10 or more], eat well and healthy but it's okay to give in to your cravings sometimes, take care of yourself by even just washing your face and going to the bathroom, appreciate yourself, take care of yourself, let go of expectations, focus on yourself, but most importantly, let go of perfection. And if you can't do all these things, that's okay too, but atleast try to try. Even if you've just gotten out of bed today where other days you can't? I'm so proud. Even if you've remembered to eat today? I'm so proud of you. Even if you've told yourself just one positive affirmation today? I'm so, so proud of you. I mean it.
You're not alone in this, we are all together and we will fight through it together.
<3

[The 212th and the 501st relaxing after a mission]
Rex, rubbing his temples: I am not proud of what I am about to say, but someone get me a cigarrette.
Fives: But Rex, we don't smoke.
Cody: Cut the crap, Fives. We're not idiots. We know that at least one in five people smoke.
Rex, pointing at Dogma: one *then at Trapper* two *then at Wooley* three *then at Longshot* four *then at Fives* five.
Cody: Now, I am going to close my eyes, and when I open them, there better be a cigarrette between these two fingers.
Trapper, puts a cigarrette in Cody's hand: here, sir
Cody: Thank you.
Fives:
Wooley:
Dogma:
Trapper:
Longshot:
Cody: Light?
(all of them simultaneously pulling out lighters)
——————
Crys: Time freezes for everyone but you one day. What do you do?
Fives: Oh… We’d mildly trouble everyone.
Crys: Alright, so what would you do?
Fives: I’d shave a one-inch thick line in every thick beard I saw.
Echo: I’d twist all the lightbulbs just a little bit so no one would know when they aren’t working.
Fives: I’d make every wing on girls eyeliner just a little bit higher than the other one.
Echo: I’d tie everyone’s shoelaces together.
Echo & Fives: And then lastly, We’d snip a little hole in every tea bag.
Crys:
Echo & Fives:
Crys: Remind me to never allow you to have power.
——————
Kix: How does one turn their emotions off?
Longshot: Okay, so first go to settings.
Hawk: I'm a fucking idiot, I thought that said emojis at first.
Kix: No, I'm still willing to try this, go ahead. I'm at settings, what do I do next?
——————
Echo: On a scale from “damn Daniel” to “fre sha vaca do”, how are you feeling?
Waxer: In between “it’s an avocado, thanks” and “how did you defeat Captain America”, but as a solid answer I would say “I don’t need a degree to be a clothing hanger”. How about you, Echo?
Echo: Probably “road work ahead”.
Switch, about to bang his head into a wall: I speak many languages...
Switch: this one is definitely not one of them.
——————
Gearshift: Sometimes I drink milk straight out of the container.
Hawk: The cow???
Jesse: What?
Oddball: Hawk, W H Y?
——————
Appo: So, what's it like living with Gregor?
Trapper: He once referred to sand as "heterosexual glitter."
——————
Hardcase: I made tea.
Longshot: I don't want tea.
Hardcase: I didn't make you tea. This is my tea.
Longshot: Then why did you tell me?
Hardcase: It's a conversation starter.
Longshot: It's a horrible conversation starter.
Hardcase: Oh, is it?
Hardcase: We're conversing, checkmate.
——————
Echo: Rules were made to be broken.
Gearshift: They were made to be followed. Nothing is made to be broken.
Striker: Uh, piñatas.
Trapper: Glow sticks.
Vaughn: Karate boards.
Wooley: Spaghetti when you have a small pot.
Waxer: Rules.
——————
Echo: What is your favourite mythical story?
Boil: The Story Of My Will To Live.
Echo: I don’t think I’ve heard of that one before.
——————
Axe: I'm not sure what you mean
Axe: I am socializing.
Gregor: Standing there ominously doesn't count as socializing
Axe:
Axe: Since when?
——————
Crys: I was arrested for being too cool.
Vaughn: And the charges were dropped due to a lack of supporting evidence.
——————
Hil: I’m going to get so much done today.
Jester: I’ll hold you to that.
*8 hours later*
Jester: So how much did you get done?
Hil: One thing.
Jester: Well, that’s one more than usual.
——————
Switch: Who ate all my cookies?
Tup: Bounty hunters
Switch, confused: I didn’t see them
Tup: No one ever does :)
——————
Fives: The how the fuck’s and why are you so dumb's don’t matter. All that matters is that I have a new gun.
——————
Tup: Why is it called "oven" when you of in the cold food and you of out hot eat the food?
Crys: What???
——————
Boil: FIGHT ME, YOU NERD ASS SLUT!
Fives: At least try to sound slightly more sophisticated when you threaten someone.
Boil: Oh, I'm sorry. should I ask; dost thou want to engage in a duel, my good bitch?
Fives: That's somehow worse.
——————
Cody: When Fives & Echo were born, the gods said, "They're too good for this world."
Jesse: Please. When they were born, the devil said, "Oh, competition."
——————
Gearshift: You know, I used to play back in my gory days.

——————
Kix, looking at both batallions: Okay, so I need to become a therapist faster.
——————
Boomer: It’s funny how well you and Longshot get along. Didn’t he hate you at first?
Hardcase, nodding: Longshot hates everybody at first. It’s his way of reaching out to people.

PREV. ⦅ MASTERLIST. ⦆ NEXT.
Y/N had been extremely bored about all of these talking her mother had been doing, babbling about how things will go in the future as she worries for her daughter, y/n. “mother, you've been quite hectic lately..” y/n mumbled, loud enough for her mother to hear however. “How am I not, sweetheart?” y/n's mother only sighed in a slight tint of frustration, “you've always been a prodigy.. perhaps I'll let you choose a career on your own.” y/n's mother gave her a soft smile, an apologetic one if she was pressuring you. “well..” y/n spoke to her mother, and she nodded.. “i wanna try being an actress, and an idol. I mean, I have experience on being an actress. and being an idol is hard, but I'll work through it.” your mother only showed her approval for y/n's decision, and it was a high chance her father did too. just, as long as y/n's grades are passing enough. that's okay. but the thing is, y/n didn't know what choice to choose. what is it a wise one? no? probably. but.. it was too late.
⎯⎯
and that was only taken back months ago while y/n was only a middle schooler, right now y/n is a popular idol and also an actress, acting in many series and movies, all of them seemed to be successful enough. y/n's parents weren't exactly strict about grades, in a way. they weren't harsh at all, like. for example, if they were to be something wrong, they'd sit down and talk to y/n about it, with an open mind. and also an understanding nature for their only daughter. they always hold support for y/n, and honestly with whatever decision she makes, they're proud. but of course, for some terms, they are protective as they were still y/n's parents. y/n was only enrolling in Yotou Highschool, it was perfect. even her best friends from middle was attending! in the entertainment course, luckily the four of them got in.
y/n walked into the classroom, seeing many students there.. all looking pretty, handsome and all. there were pretty girls, handsome boys, yeah whatever.. but y/n wasn't interested. especially not by only appearance, y/n prefers personality. you know? y/n walked pass the students talking to each other, as she found her idol-mates. “Ah, y/n!” ann exclaimed, waving towards y/n with a big smile. y/n returned one back to ann, as she walked towards the group of girls. y/n sighed, “this school seems to be very..” y/n started trailing off a little, as she looked down to her shoes. “intimadating?” herta guessed, as fuyuko and y/n nodded in agreement. however ann reassured, that everything will be fine!
it wasn't too long before people started recognizing who y/n and the girls were. the four was already successful either way. there wasn't much of a surprise — kind of. herta only wished for those to not recognize her, as she was basically trying to hide at all costs from people. which she failed miserably. ann only laughed at herta's little sulking while fuyuko and y/n couldn't help but hold in their laughs, as they hold pity towards herta's failure.
⎯⎯
the teacher seemed to be extremely late, from what you thought. but fuyuko was desperate for the teacher to be absent! “fuyuko, it's only the first day.” y/n reminded her, but fuyuko paid absolutely no point in that reminder. “a first day is like any day.” fuyuko argued, as y/n deadpanned. while for ann and herta, the two were wondering about their idol activities. a slight whine from ann coming, as they were whining about how they're gonna end up tired just by doing a long rehearsal of dancing, “you can't do much about it.” herta said, getting a tablet out from her bag as she scrolls through the groupchat named "Starlight ; Lvamia Productions". checking through their schedule for the day, y/n and fuyuko entered the conversation after. “if we have rehearsal, we can simply leave school for it.” herta said, turning the tablet opposite to the three girls in front of her, showing the schedule they had. “after all, we're in the entertainment course. we're allowed to have a sloppy attendance, as I'm pretty sure that our parents won't be too happy if we had terrible grades, yes?”
the girls nodded. the four couldn't help but think about your parents if they were to find out about the performances you had academically. “do we have rehearsal though?” asked fuyuko. herta turned the tablet around, looking through the schedule. she nodded as a response, soon enough there will be rehearsal in a few hours, herta told the other three girls. “we have a dance rehearsal, then soon enough we'll go over our notes.. as we have a chance to perform on stage in a few months or so?” herta specified. the girls eyes lit up as they were excited to go on stage again like last time they did, it was successful enough and they even made to have attention in the media. y/n smiled, “right then. starlight?” y/n placed the back of her palm in the air, as fuyuko and ann looked at each other and smiled. placing their hands above yours, while herta was the only one left. she hesitated, before showing the most smallest genuine smile she ever did in her whole life, as she joined too.
⠀⠀⠀“stargazers!”
the girls exclaimed, raising their arm up in the air after. they all looked at each other, lowering their arms down. sharing laughter and joy together. a choice made in y/n's path once again, is this finally a choice that y/n did not regret? finding happiness in this life other than the last life she had lived through? now that y/n thinks about it, maybe this is what mother meant by making a choice you won't regret. will she make more choices in the future? ones she'll know she won't regret? there's no such guarantee, but having this kind of friendgroup made her forget the miserable life she once lived. although the thought of dying and ending up in a place like hell was something you thought of before, you didn't expect to live another life. reincarnation. but knowing that you did get this rare chance, it feels like you got to relive a new life and experience things that you never got to experience. sure, you sometimes get deja vu or flashbacks of your old life, but you didn't pay too much mind on it. she's happy now, I think. still, there's more hardships coming in her way soon enough. but she knows, she'll get over it. she always does.
suddenly, the teacher came in the class. finally! wait, no. fuyuko felt down with the fact the teacher came; but like y/n said, it's the first day. no way the teacher would be absent on the first day, right? the girls quickly sat down on their seats, as y/n gave fuyuko a smug look that explained that y/n herself was right. fuyuko huffed in frustration, as the teacher went on with the class. it wasn't too bad for the girls, it's just that fuyuko only wished to get out of the class as soon as possible. meaning by that, her constantly eyeing the clock. ann wanted to laugh, but they held back SO HARD. herta was slightly sighing to herself, absolutely tired of the shenanigans the girls always did. while y/n was holding back from wanting to throw her pen to fuyuko in order to signal her to pay attention. though, to fuyuko's relief, after a few hours, the following classes ended and it was pretty much a free period. “girls, its time to go and attend rehearsal.” herta said, as the girls nodded. being already outside of the school.
as the girls started running out, almost like having a race due to ann and fuyuko's competitiveness, y/n only joined for fun. while herta only joined in the so-called race to catch up with ann and fuyuko, and stop them in case they trip and fall down to the ground or something. way worse possibility to that situation, get hurt. what a mom. but as the four girls ran, y/n passed a group of four other people. while running, she slowed down a bit to see the four people's faces. specifically, meeting eyes with a boy with blue starry eyes, same like y/n's. however, due to y/n running, she ran pass the boy and basically stopped. slightly looking back at the corner of her eye.
⎯⎯
a girl, who had ran passed aqua but in that split second, something that felt more than just a split second actually.. he met eyes with her, yet aqua didn't know who that girl was. should he pay that much mind to it? no. it was probably just some random girl that attended to the same school as him, obviously. he stood there, stiff like some laughable doll. “y/n! hurry up!” fuyuko yelled, y/n. that's the girls name? he looked from afar, seeing the girl he met eyes with get a little sidetracked by looking at frill, minami, ruby and him at the corner of her eye. “her name is y/n, huh? hm..” aqua thought, however pushing that inconvenient thought away. “aquamarine?” frill mentioned aqua's name, due to how he seemed to not pay attention to the conversation. aqua looked to frill, “you're from the live action, sweet today, right?” frill asked. y/n looked at the direction where her idol-mates were, as she exclaimed, “I'm coming!” y/n ran off, heading to rehearsal with her idol-mates. but y/n couldn't help but think;
“his name is aquamarine, huh? hm..”

Executive Cucumber's thoughts on the Bad Batch: Season 3x06 and 3x07 (I'm pretty sure I'm formatting this differently every time. Oh well)
Okay, there's a subject I'm going to have to postpone until the end of the post because I want all my thoughts on that to be together: the main operative clone. And the rest might be slightly out of order. I'm also doing this before I see anyone else's thoughts, just so we get the pure version.
Let's go!
I honestly thought that Senator Singh and Riyo were dead meat. But no, they're fine because REX IS COOLER THAN ANYONE. Ugh that man. Freaking throwing the grenade back at him.
Clones are beautiful. That is all.
THAT'S THAT ONE PLACE FROM THE OG CLONE WARS MOVIE!!! TETH!!!
Howzer I love you but if you touch Crosshair we will be having words.
I am actually really proud of Crosshair and his restraint this episode. He could have been really cutting to Howzer.
OMEGA WITH THE TOOTHPIIIIICKS and Hunter is jealouuuus
EDIT: ECHO AND THE CROSSBOW HE'S SO SWEET
WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU CROSSHAIR
It's really nice to see normal clones being normal again. (Too bad it doesn't last)
There's something up with Omega. I'm not going to lie, I think that she and Rex are going to plan to get her captured in order to track her back to Tantiss.
HOWZER STOP DISTRUSTING CROSSHAIR THIS MOMENT
I appreciate that Hunter doesn't seem to distrust Crosshair during this point.
...they really shouldn't have brought that operative back.
Rex is considering stealing Omega, I swear. I love that he gets down to her level.
WOOOOOOOOOOOLFFE (Plo would be so disappointed in you)
It's...odd to see these normal troopers with him.
It's also strange that he cannot comprehend that the clones could be traitors at first.
STOP DYING YOU BEAUTIFUL REGS
'She only bites half the time' I'm pretty sure Omega is lying here but I don't care.
CROSSHAIR IS SUCH A WORRIED DAD HOLY CRAP. 'Oh, I'm much worse' I LOVE YOU
And this just gives such a little insight into how the Batch was when they were together. I have a feeling that Crosshair was a fusser and a nagger.
And I love how Howzer's natural and correct conclusion is: 'no one evil could love that child.' (Unless you're Nala Se)
Hey, actual candor from Crosshair. I keep saying this is who he always was under it all, but I do think he's healed somewhat, at least towards regs. The healing power of Omega.
'Too bad' I LOVE THIS MAN
STOP DYING REGS
Rex talking down Wolffe reminded me so much of him trying to talk Jesse down. So ow.
Okay, what ROCK have they shoved Wolffe under for the last YEAR??? YES THE EMPIRE WOULD GET RID OF THE CLONES YOU DOG BRAINED IDIOT
(Plo would be proud that you let them go)
...they just killed all of Rex's clones, except Howzer and Gregor. And I have a bad feeling about Howzer. STOP TAKING THINGS FROM REX HASN'T HE LOST ENOUGH???
Okay here we are, at the big topic. Hold onto your pants.
That operative clone. Is. Tech. Because if he is not, they are purposefully using the narrative to deceive us.
I might miss a few things, but that's because I'm up past my bedtime and I've been up too late the last few days.
1. The falling and water parallels. This clone falls a LOT during this episode and dives into a lot of water. He even falls into mist. This time it's to kill and capture his siblings instead of save them.
2. The injury. This clone is hobbling around a lot after his injury, which was immediately reminiscent of Tech's broken leg at the beginning of season 2. Both of them are forcing themselves past their limit to achieve a mission. Specifically with injured legs.
3. General attitude and demeanor. In combination with the stealth and injury, this clone has a more hunched posture. His speech patterns are more formal, though we haven't really heard a lot of other clone operatives talk with their helmets on. But he's also apparently allergic to orders. I first thought that he'd be out of the chain of command, but they would have told Wolffe that he wasn't in charge of the operative if that were the case. Or the operative would have straight up told him 'I don't take orders from you' instead of staring awkwardly at him. Instead he runs off and does his own thing. While injured. Not to mention the buttons on his gauntlet. The other clone operatives don't have those.
4. The cybernetic legs. Now we don't know for sure if Tech would have cybernetic legs, but it seems likely for a severely injured trooper. And when Crosshair is looking at the heat signature, you can see that his legs are blue instead of yellow or red. No heat. Not organic.
5. What he says to Crosshair. 'You could have been one of us.' 'You chose the wrong side.' Yes, he's talking about Crosshair resisting the re-education. But flip it on its head real quick. 'You could have been one of us. One of the Bad Batch.' 'You chose the wrong side. The Empire.' Those lines very easily have double meanings.
6. An interesting one is when he starts moving rocks after the explosion. Why would he do that? Why not immediately go find another way in? He's moving only the smaller rocks. There's a large one in the way that he couldn't move himself. And he doesn't get the rest of the troopers to come move it when they arrive. He almost seems confused.
Like he's somewhere else after an explosion, having to move rocks. Like in the Crossing.
I know that this hardly seem like iron clad evidence. But in the language of story telling, it's practically screaming in our faces.
And I'm so glad he's back. I missed him. He won't be himself for a while, but I legitimately believe we'll get one last fight with the Batch all together. Because brain washing is a heck of a lot easier to fix than being dead.
My sister is doing the good work and creating a tik token about it, and I'll probably share it here when she's finished.
(We're getting the episode 'Identity Crisis ON MY BIRTHDAY and so help me if that's about Tech)
Honestly I thought I'd be more excited, but I spent the entire two episodes forcing myself into not having expectations and also I might be in shock.
