BREAKING NEWS: NOXIAN ATTACK WITHIN DEMACIA!

An attack at Demacias Grand Plaza Station took place at 11:30 AM this morning, the main culprits are a Noxian Fire Mage estimated to be around six years of age, and an unknown assailant who at this point in time is suspected to also be a Noxian agent, the second attacker is unidentifiable at this time what is known about them is that they are a presumed young woman, with long orange hair tied up in a single braid. She is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and is armed with explosives and a firearm; both suspects are at large and presumed highly dangerous.

Captain Garen Crownsguard is leading the search for the attackers and has asked that civilians stay indoors and call the Mageseekers and City Guard if they see anyone suspicious, he also asks that if anyone comes across anyone fitting the assailants' descriptions to stay away and await assistance; the Mageseekers have also implored civilians to not be swayed by the fire mages young appearance, she is confirmed to be out of control of her magic and is suspected to have a contract with a Shadow Bear (a Noxian borne demon).

With the presence of a Noxian mage here in Demacia, the Vanguard are being issued to secure Demacias borders from any further infiltration from Noxius, King Jarvan IV has promised that all threats, internal and external, will be dealt with and has vowed to keep the people of Demacia safe and that the attackers today will be dealt with swiftly.

What is religions place in moral and ethics arguments in your opinion? I saw one of your posts and i was curious :))

It was smth about how you can't really be reliant on religion as a defense on its own because you'll never really be able to properly hold a discussion. Any argument wherein one party's only defense is "god says it's wrong" or "the bible says it's wrong" is a copout and already kind of doomed to fail from the start. And how it's also frustrating to go up against someone who uses that as their only counterargument (i.e. my dad) because there's really no way to argue against it without offending them. It can't be the end all be all argument because God is only real to the people who believe in him, and this stance will ultimately be worthless on people with any differing belief. I spent an Hour talking with my dad about capital punishment and it was because his only reason for why the death penalty is morally okay is because the government authorized it and God says that we should respect the authority.

You can't really use God in a moral argument until you can definitively prove to the opposing party that God exists and is fully omnipotent and omniscient and omnipresent. You will not be able to tell an atheist woman that abortion is bad because God says so, that would not work and would only antagonize her further. Something something what is god to a nonbeliever. Religion isn't like fully exempt from arguments or whatever, it has its own place in them, especially with how influential it is in every culture, but if man is born with free will then let him think without the constraints of a theoretical god's law

Y'know, it's still kind of wild to me how fast Neil Gaiman just. Scarpered right off this site. Like well, well before I had a Tumblr, I knew he had one. It was almost like a local legend. "Yeah, Neil Gaiman, the real popular author man, just hangs around and posts!" He was one of the first people I followed, because I knew who he was! But obviously he knows the (very deserved) bad press from the particular things he's done and allegedly done would lead users on this site to make sure he NEVER rests. I'm sure his inbox is a sight to behold. I dunno, it just feels wild that he abandoned such a long-standing blog at the first sign of danger. And now he's gone.

idk if this is like. something all fandoms get but one of my favourite parts of being into star trek is seeing previously non trek blogs be like “hey guess what i maybe saw this show called star trek idk it was quite okay blue and yellow seem kinda fruity to me ” and getting to watch people contract incurable spirk brainworms in real time basically without fail. idk i just think it’s neat.

Really you're pretty sure you've loved him since you were 6 years old and he was 8 and he gave you his half of the pastry he was splitting between him and his baby brother. Your dad was on his own with you and worked long hours but it was a struggle to keep you both fed and it's as if Simon somehow just knew.

Even when he presented as an alpha and you remained a beta, he refused to entertain the idea of anyone else. Bit a claim into you the day you turned 18 even if you had been begging him to do it for years before.

It's a good life he's made for you despite all the tragedy along the way. People look at you strangely sure, it's not common for an alpha to claim a beta, but you pay it no mind. You love him and he loves you, that should be enough. You'll probably never have kids, alphas work better with omegas for that, but he's never indicated that it bothers him.

For many of the Chrysos Heirs, having the potential to be part of the flamechase seems an incredible burden. Mydei is not excited about needing to become a demigod, Tribbie lost almost everything when she took in her coreflame.

I think Anaxa denies the titans partly as a thought experiment. All of the most famous philosophers enjoy asking questions which are ridiculous to an incurious mind. But he's resentful of how prophecy drags the people down.

Because things are determined to be predetermined, many stop looking for solutions outside the prophecy. In the end, even a solution that seems out of the box may appear to fulfill the vague terms of a prophecy, but having a prophecy means that most of its adherents will try to work with the prophecy in mind, which is inherently limiting.

Anaxa does not like being forcefully constrained. He wants to be able to discover freely, even to the point of utilizing his own soul to show that every part of himself belongs to himself, and wants his and others' choices to be their own. The only one we see him show outright antagonism to so far is Aglaea, the weaver, the puppet master who controls both what the populace is allowed to know and directs the Chrysos Heirs along the path of the prophecy.

She in turn brands him the "performer", because she sees him as tied down as the rest of them even though he pretends not to be, to be enlightened because he dares to question the prophecy and the very existence of the gods themselves. Time is running out and she is openly supportive of one of the only plans they have, while Anaxa openly questions everything, and even goes so far as to proclaiming he would pursue annihilation if it brought answers.

There's just something quietly despairing about Anaxa trying to quietly and consistently pick apart the prophecy which has ruined the lives of everyone around him and seeks to bind him to blind obedience, while being forced to participate in whatever is going on anyways.

Ashton is my favorite of the Hells.

No hard feelings Anon, I get it, but it’s wild to me that fandom has progressed to the point where you can’t point out that a character has a limited point of view without it being seen as possible hate.

I think Ashton is wrong, but their pov makes sense based on his life experience. It adds drama. It makes us wonder what the party as a whole will do next.

Characters can be myopic and smug and petty and hypocritical, I don’t care as long as they’re interesting.

I don't. Because that's just bad comprehension to even try to say "his character arc declined".

They seem to have taken his Mo Xuanyu shtick, as his actual personality, when that breaks several times in story, even before Lan Wangji admits to knowing it is him. As well as the juniors beginning to believe that "Mo Xuanyu" is not actually a lunatic aside from Jin Ling, who Wei Wuxian is very much trying to keep it from that he is in fact Wei Wuxian and puts on a heavy act, even to his own embarrassment sometimes.

Not sure what exactly is perceived as childish, unless they mean when he teases others, and he always has because that is his personality. And if that's the case, the character probably just isn't for them, but then they really should stop putting Wei Wuxian traits on his lessers in story.

There is no MXY! Wei Wuxian. It's the stupidest thing ever much as fandom trying to act like "Meng Yao" is a separate person from Jin Guangyao.

after years of no news about my dad's longest-time friend, shrouding his existence with a strange mix of pessimistic presumption of death and yet hope and allure of mystery, as he was a known marginal, making my dad deeply miss him and continue to call even as it always reached voicemail (furthering this allure of mystery about his strange in-between state), even as he became more and more sure the man was "gone body and soul", i have found what seems to be as close to 100% confirmation as we'll ever get that this guy passed away, exactly one year ago on the day. it was absolutely a horrible experience to ask my father for this man's last name and approximate year of birth, just to make sure, and deliver the news that he had not been able to find. I wish i had been home for this. this does feel like a crazy coincidence that he passed one year ago exactly and, in my father's words, like he's "finally deciding on giving some updates" - significant in a way.

So Maggie totally knew Crowley pre-season 2, right? When Crowley approaches her about the meeting, she's not at all confused about who he is, he knows her on sight when he sees her out the window with Nina, and she is familiar enough with the two of them to say that Aziraphale and him never talk to one another. I don't know why this matters to me so much but it makes me happy. 😭

it's crazy to me that the only way you can fail the matron's test is by trusting your best friend or mother and caring for their plight. but not as crazy when you know they're a follower of the betrayer and a ruidusborn though, right?

imogen sounds so defeated when she asked if trusting her mother was bad. then imogen repeating the same again to the hells with this really helpless look. because the matron, a near-omniscient being, has written off her mother as something too rotten to be trusted.

"you know your mother best in the end" the way that does not change the fact that YOU have viewed her mother in the worst light. it's killing me but i have to love the consistent portrayal of the holy, at every level of the realm, putting the burden on others to find goodness or redemption in ruidusborns. but until proven otherwise they are personally fine with reducing ruidusborns to caricatures of an evil turncoat.

the matron of ravens was not there when the gods, despite luz/sarenrae's insistence to give it a chance, decided to distrust the rotten fruit and plucked it right off from its tree, setting off their own end.
