âwhatâs this?â ⢠kim seungmin
M D N I 18+
Synopsis: Seungmin finds one of your smutty books and teases you about it to the point where you BOTH take advantage of the situation.
WC: 1.7k
Tags: smut, piv, unprotected sex (be safe), afab!reader, bsf!seungmin, dom!seungmin, sub!reader, degradation (whore, slut, filthy, minx), light dacryphilia, creampie, seungmin is a little mean, ass slapping, hair pulling, light system, biting, blowjob, talkative seungmin, prob forgetting some sorry :(
âHey, whatâs this?â You hear your best friend say from the living room as you grab a snack from the kitchen. âWhatâs what?â You roll your eyes at the vague question.
âThis.â You glance up to see Seungmin with the most shit eating grin ever. Your eyes flicker over to the object heâs holding up, itâs a bookâŚit was one of those books. âThatâs nothing, so if youâd just-â You laugh dryly, attempting to snatch the book out of Seungminâs hand. But the brown haired man raises his arm above his head, flipping through some pages before letting out a chuckle.
ââOh god, fuck me harder-â what the fuck is this?!â Seungmin teased, the smirk on his face not faltering one bit. âNever took you to be such a freak.â He stated as he continued reading the pages.
âHe felt as she clenched against his cock, throbbing inside her pussy.â Seungmin read off the page as your face turned a dark hue of red. âMin, give it to me.â You say sternly, his antics only fueling your embarrassment.
Seungmin squints at you before flipping back a few pages until he was satisfied with the scene taking place in the book. âHe strides over to her, caging her body in his.â Seungmin read, his body moving closer to yours.
Your heart pounded as his arms caged you against the kitchen counter. âHis eyes falling to her lips, licking them as if he were craving to taste her.â Seungminâs eyes flickered to yours before shifting towards your lips, letting his tongue run along his lower lip.
Itâs then that you realize that heâs reenacting the scene from the book. The start of a smut sceneâŚwith you.
Your cheeks couldnât possibly be redder. Seungmin lets out a chuckle as he reads the next line, âHe leans in connecting their lips together as one, moving passionately against one another.â
Seungmin glances back at you as he leans his face dangerously close to yours. You gulp as you notice his eyes flicker down to your lips once more. âMin,â You breath out shakily, hands flying to his biceps.
âYouâre so dirty you know that? Getting turned on by me reading a erotic sceneâŚyouâre filthy.â You shut your eyes and bite your lip, praying that no sound pours from them at his sudden degradation.
âOh and look at that, you really are a slut.â
âFuck.â you groan, your thighs rubbing against each other instinctively. âTheir tongues danced against each other as his hands wrapped around the curve of her ass, squeezing at the flesh.â
His hands followed what the book said, trailing along the dip of your back before gently cupping your ass. You stare up at him with anticipating eyes.
âWhat?â Seungmin tilts his head teasingly, âYou want more?â You groan before grabbing him by the collar of his shirt and connecting your lips. Seungmin almost jumped in shock, not expecting you to have actually kissed him. He thought that the borderline groping was gonna get him kicked out of your apartment.
Seungminâs hands stabilize on your hips as your lips move against one another, teeth clashing and tongue gliding along. Grunting as he pushes his hips into yours. âYouâre a little shit you know that?â You huff out against his wet, swollen lips.
âSays the person who has an erotic book.â Seungmin cocks his head to the side. Youâre suddenly aware of the proximity between the two of your bodies. You bite your lip, yearning to connect his lips to yours once more. As if he read your mind, Seungmin cups your cheeks, licking at the bottom of your lip allowing entry.
Seungminâs hands trail once more down the curve of your ass, gently massaging at the flesh there. You roll your hips into his with neediness as your tongues move along one another. âShit,â Seungmin groans, his lips detaching from yours to rest his forehead against your shoulder. âYou canât just do that.â
You peer down at the previously arrogant, teasing boy in front of you, just see his ears bright red. You roll your hips once more to tease him, feeling his hardening cock beneath his slacks. A small groan left his mouth. âAnd you called me dirty for getting turned on.â You tsked. Seungmin huffed out a laugh.
His grip on your ass suddenly tightens, lifting you onto the counter. The cold marble counter, causing you to let out a shaky gasp. Seungmin takes the opportunity to kiss you once again, his hands smacking lightly at your ass.
He presses his erection into your crotch as he lazily humps into you. You bite your lower lip to stifle your moans, Seungmin notices. He brings his fingers up to your lips, parting them, allowing your sweet moans to slip from your mouth. âLet me hear you, yeah.â
âCan I?â He asked as his fingers trace along the hem of your pajama shorts. Youâre quick to nod, wanting everything that your best friend is willing to give. Seungminâs larger hands slip past the waistband of your shorts, helping you lift your hips to slide them off all the way. You donât miss the way he stiffens at the sight of your soaked pussy thatâs clinging against your panties.
âShit, youâre such a fucking minx.â Seungmin sighed as he ran his hands up and down your thighs, âPull this off for me.â Motioning to your shirt, you quickly understand his prompt, lifting it up and over your head. âFuck, youâre such a slut you know that?â
You moan softly, rubbing your thighs together. You need friction. You need to be touched. You need his touch.
âMin please.â You plead, growing desperate for his touch. âWhat?â Seungmin cocks his brow at you, âGrowing needy are you?â He simply tuts, shaking his head at you. âMin, I swear to God-â
âWhat?â He tilts his head, âAre you gonna beg for it?â
Frustration clouds your mind leading you to push him off your body, getting off the counter before gently- yet forcibly- pinning him against the counter. âI hate you.â You pout, nonetheless sinking to your knees in front of him. âYou say as youâre about to suck my cock like a slut.â You playfully slap his thigh before unzipping his jeans.
You stare at his bulge in front of you. Heâs bigâŚnot too big that youâd be scared of putting it in you, but just enough to wear it might sting. âStop staring at it and put your pretty mouth to good use.â As you pull his boxers down, his cock springs out, standing proudly at your face.
Seungminâs breath hitches as your lips trail kisses along the shaft, making your way to his tip. âFuck,â A throaty groan pours from the brown haired boyâs mouth as you take him into your mouth. âYou look so pretty with my cock in your mouth- taking me so well.â He grunts between shallow breaths, gripping a handful of your hair tightly.
You never thought Seungmin could be so vocal during sexâŚyou were wrong.
Seungmin guides your head along the length of his cock by the grip of your hair. The slight sting only turning you on even more. Suddenly, he pulls you all the way on him; tip hitting the back of your throat as you gag around him. Your hands fly up to his thighs, patting them to notify him. Seungmin helps you off his cock with a pop.
âYou okay?â His tone changes as he watches you cough excessively from the lack of oxygen. âYeah.â You manage to say between breaths. You finally peer up at him after gathering yourself from almost suffocating on his cock. Seungmin gulps as he sees you teary eyes and wet eyelashes staring up at him in an almost innocent manner.
âFucking hell.â Seungmin breathes out before raising you up from your knees and placing you on the counter once more. âFuck, youâre so dirty you know that? Iâm gonna fuck you so good, hm.â His rough hands rub along your inner thighs, trailing a bit higher with each passing second.
âGod, please do.â You groan, instinctively separating your legs as he strokes himself. âYou know the colors?â Seungmin cocks his head at you with a smirk, you eagerly nod in response. âWords.â
âYes I know the col- oh my fuck!â You let out a moan as he, without warning, moves your panties to the side and rams himself into your throbbing cunt.
He roughly pushes your torso down, hand wrapping around your throat- not to the point where you're lacking oxygen, just a slight pressure. The sounds pouring from your mouth are almost pornographic. Wet squelching and skin against skin noises echoing throughout your kitchen. At the corner of your eye you notice the book that had been forgotten long ago.
Seungmin follows your gaze, with a free hand flipping a page. âGod youâre so beautiful, sucking my cock inside your wet pussy.â You groan, though not out of pleasure, but for the fact that at one point you thought reading smutty books was better than experiencing it.
âStop!â You gasped out, Seungmin glanced over to you and gave you a look, his grip on your neck loosening ever so slightly. âYellow-â He stops, âwith the book! Keep going though.â Seungmin chuckles at you as he begins to pick up his speed.
âGod youâre so beautiful. You knowâŚIâve liked you for a while.â Seungmin grunts into you, his hand leaving your throat and grasping at your hips to stabilize you. âMinnie- please stopâŚreading the book.â
âNot reading anything.â He stares at you, âI do like you.â Your body automatically clenches around him, that familiar knot in your stomach threatening to release. âFuck Min, I like you too-â Seungmin cuts you off abruptly with his lips. The feeling of both of your bodies together and knowing each other's feelings cause you to both spill over the edge.
Seungmin eased out of you, his warm cum slowly dripping out of your cunt. âShit youâre so perfect.â Leaning in and placing a kiss on your lips before helping you off the counter.
âYou fucked up my back.â You joke as the two of you laid on your bed after cleaning the mess you left in the kitchen. Seungmin raises his eyebrow at you, a small endearing smirk resting on his lips.

GREEDY â gojo satoru minors dni
prologue. â pretty, prodigal, and teasing. how far can you push your former teacher before he snaps? gojo's about this đ¤ close from releasing a hollow purple on the world.
pairing. gojo satoru x afab!reader
warnings+. mà stúrbation (m.) and rough sèx, creaḿpie. some angst/doubt. angsty love confession before gojo póunds reader into the mattress. incorrect use of reversed curse technique. arguments and stuff. description of injuries. def mean!gojo a bit and he's got vampire tendencies.
reader is of legal age (implied to be 19-20) and gojo is 28 so age gap!romance. obsessed!gojo and popular girl!reader trope. gojo is absolutely a mess in this, and reader is described as wearing short skirts, and wearing makeup.
rather questionable ethics and dynamics (teacher/former student) but rest assured its clear that his feelings are pretty recent. reader has him twirled and whipped around her fingers. reader is also def a baddie and ambiguously bi.
word count. 8.7k words im mad actually. this was meant to be headcanons song inspiration. greedy â tate mcrae
a/n. this is was gonna be from reader's pov but i thought it would be more fun from gojo's đââď¸
mp3. i see you eyeing me down, but you'll never know much past my name. or how i'm running this room, but i'm still half your age. yeah, you're looking at me like i'm some sweet escape đ
gojo satoru was not a weak man, no. he knew that he was an anomaly of nature, an unstoppable power that could reduce enemies to dust and make entire clans crumble with nothing more than a flick of his wrists.
so how was it, that when it came to you, his resolve was paper-thin?
every time your open gaze met his, every time you brushed past him, every time your presence filled the space around his infinity, gojo felt something inside him unravel. his breath would be caught in his chest, leaving his pulse to quicken and suddenly, all that strength and control would slip through his fingers.
gojo cursed himself for this, you see. he had never been one to lose control, but he was not quite sure when his entire body has started to betray him.
but no, fuck that, and he did his utter best to run his focus back onto the lesson at hand. unfortunately, the lesson at hand was with you. standing in front of him, arms slightly raised, palms out, and raising your brow as boredom passed over your face.
gojo cleared his throat, "your stance is good, but your cursed energy is all over the place. focus, breathe. centre yourself is what i'm saying," he instructed, but the words felt hollow as they passed through his lips.
unfairly, you're weren't the problem. he was. and now this was getting ridiculous. you had graduated not two, three years past? it would have been a disservice to still call you his student, but even as a mentee, you were still under his tutelage. and as recent as this immature infatuation was, this felt wrong.
but now you were frowning, starting to waver and the sharp, staccato tap of your heeled boot punctuated the wooden floor, click, click!
gojo looked to the sky, briefly, if to pray for patience and a calm of some sorts. he stepped forwards towards you, placing a hand on your waist to guide you into a better stance, and trying to ignore the way your skin felt warm underneath his fingers.
focus.
"don't let your body twist like that when you utilise your own cursed energy. keep it straight, balanced," he muttered, adjusting your posture slightly, hand on your spine â the heel of his palm pressing into a dent. a deity from the sky must have struck him with a cursed arrow, for his whole body was on fire.
because there you were, standing right in front of him, so close that gojo could feel the soft heat of your breath, the faint scent of a sweet perfume wafting off your skin, vanilla?
"you're not focused," gojo grimaced, though he wasn't sure if the rebuke was at himself, or at you â whose eyes widened briefly, and gojo tried not to recognise the curiosity and challenge that flashed across your face.
look at how she's staring at me. and gojo felt utterly ridiculous, and exposed, she knows. but instead of pulling away, you shifted ever so slightly towards him, your body arching as the barest brush of your breasts against his forearm had heat pulling through his body.
would you taste as sweet as you smelt? would you lean more into him if he asked?
he cleared his throat, "okay. relax, not every stance or position works for an individual. perhaps, you'll be able to focus better like this," and with his hand still on your waist, he pulled you into a swift spin. one that left your back pressed against the hard planes of the chest, and you facing the other wall.
you hummed, this time not in the way he wanted. your lips were lightly parted, and there was that soft sheen of gloss catching the light, making your lips look impossibly soft. gojo caught himself staring, wandering what it would be like to press his own mouth to yours, and whether you would squeal or moan.
still, if there was anything that gojo was good at, it was deflecting like a champ, "i think you're distracted," he laughed, low and amused, "is something making you lose focus?"
you tilted your head, and gojo didn't miss (nor did his heart or groin) that your gaze flickered to his mouth for the briefest second before meeting his eyes again, feigning innocence, "don't tell me you're underestimating me, sensei. because i'd hate to think you can't keep up?"
gojo bit back a grin at the obvious bait, "careful," brushing strands of white hair that had fallen into his face away, "if you get too cocky, you tend to miss danger. you start to ignore things that should be noticed."
your voice dropped to a droll whisper, eyes glinting, "you think i don't notice things? i'm aware of plenty."
gojo forced himself to focus, to ignore the way that your lashes flutter with unshakable composure. trying to regain control, or some semblance of mind, he started counting each individual lash painted dark with mascara, lingering on the outermost curls that framed your sharp eyes.
after a beat, he forced himself to break eye contact, "alright," he said, stepping back with a casual shrug that he hoped conveyed just how nonchalant he was, "weâll call it a day here and continue training tomorrow."
"backing out already?" you teased, leaning in just a little, making him tense at the closeness.
gojo chuckled, feigning nonchalance. "for your sake. you may be powerful, but you have to pace yourself."
you shrugged, nodding, "i'm going out anyway this evening," you said, hopping back a step before bending down to gather your things. gojo politely averted his gaze, his heart hammering from your previous proximity, and desperately hoping to avoid a...reaction, that would be quite inconvenient, as wide and loose as his martial pants were. like a fuckin' school boy with a crush. gross.
but as you slung your pastel bag over your shoulder and straightened up, he couldn't help a quick glance, catching the small, coy glimmer in your eyes as you turned to leave.
gojo sighed, pulling up his blindfold once more, "have fun," he half-heartedly offered, but you were already out the door.
the corridors were now empty, the clang of metal and chatter now silent, replaced with a quiet hum of the air conditioning. gojo wiped his face with the towel wrapped around his neck, the damp fabric clinging to his skin and the muscles in his arms and chest still warm from the intensity of training. his arms and chest glistened, the muscles warm and taut as he stretched, rolling his shoulders back with a low groan. exhaustion settled into him like a weight, each movement of his tired, bare torso slow and deliberate.
"oh, you're still here, sensei?"
gojo's eyes snapped open, drawn to the sound of your inquisitive voice. you stood in the doorway, framed by the dim light from the hallway, and he immediately felt a rush of heat flood his chest.
well, fuck, now his mouth was dry. clearly, your previous iteration of 'going out' was a bit more glamorous than you had led on, and he was certain his wandering eyes betrayed him as it flickered over your figure. it took a titan's strength to keep his eyes from trailing down your long legs, the way your dress hugged the swell of your chest, or over your glistening neck. there was a faint shimmer, a glitter of some sort? it coated your skin, and gojo wanted to lick it off with his tongue.
what? no. who said that?
he swallowed hard, forcing himself to keep his composure.
you scowled at his reaction, clearly mistaking his silence for distaste. "what? i did say i was going somewhere," you retorted, your tone sharp but amused. "iâm more than allowed to leave the campus grounds.â
"of course,â he replied, voice outstandingly steady but his mind still trailing after every curve, every detail that made you look...well...dangerous in the best way, "don't let me stop you. who's the lucky guy?"
you arched a brow, folding your arms over your chest, and now, gojo really did have to look away and pretend that he was busy with retying a dark piece of cloth over his eyes, "who said it was a guy?"
gojo thickly swallowed, wondering if he'd just made a colossal blunder with no return, "that's not what i meant." the words 'my bad' stuck in his throat as you laughed and sighed.
"joking, sorry. it's a guy, this time." now you were fiddling with your long nails, with a satisfying clack as they ran across each other.
"i hope he shows you a great time then," he offered, half-hearted, blasĂŠ.
you took a step into the room, and gojo didn't even need six eyes to know that your eyes were raking over his chest, "i'm sure he will," all sweetness and sugar, "i've been training so hard, i deserve it, don't i?"
the words hit him harder than he expected, and he had to remind himself â she's not yours, satoru. but that didn't stop the gruff irritation bubbling up.
"a real man should be taking you out on a date like this,â he said, his voice a bit too rough for his liking. "not some guy whoâs probably just looking for a good time."
you scoffed lightly, rolling your eyes. "are you saying that there's someone else out there who can do a better job?" your tone was playful, but there was a challenge in it â an edge that made his heart skip once more, "sadly, there just aren't many who've handled me well."
he ignored your immature, faux pout, and ran a hand through damp, icy hair â ignoring how his temper flared, rearing its ugly head.
was this all on purpose? to toy with him?
"you want to be handled, sweetheart?" gojo's voice dropped a little lower, indulging your teasing, "i've seen you lose focus easily, you could easily break."
your lips creased up, painted a tempting shade of dried-blood red (what the fuck was wrong with him? was he now just a horny vampire?) as you purred, "i'd need some help testing out that theory." your expression was open just enough for him to see the tiniest flicker of something in your eyes â something that told him you were enjoying this far more than you should.
an invitation of sorts, he wondered. did you want him to move? to make a move? it wasnât a secret that you had always been a popular student practically a legend, rumours swirling around you like wildfire â whispers of broken hearts and sweetened smiles that could captivate anyone in your path. he had never paid attention of course, gossip always ran wild among students and he discouraged such whispers of who-did-what, for a grade 1 curse would never indulge such behaviour before they would get torn to shreds.
and even now, long after graduation as you worked around your old alma mater, men and women â everyone swooned at the chance to speak with you, and yet, here you were, playing this dangerous game with him.
gojo scowled, trying to push past the desire building inside him, the urge to have you underneath him, right on this mat in the training room. "well, donât hang around too long," he said, his tone sharp as a blade. "iâm sure your date is waiting. go have a good time."
invitation declined. the morally right thing to do. right?
he didnât need to look to see the small sneer that curled at the corner of your lips, or the way it turned into a fleeting expression of annoyance. he could hear the click of your heels echo down the hallway as you sashayed out.
what the everlasting fuck was wrong with him?
lo and behold, the great gojo satoru often found himself alone in his own private rooms. for 'the strongest' rarely had time to accommodate some other forms of company.
and frankly, he had no desire to do so now regardless. not when the echoes of your clicking heels still reverberated in his mind. the silence that echoed around him was heavy, suffocating and he was sure he looked erratic.
gojo ran a hand over his face, trying to shake the thought of you. but it was useless. his body was still on fire, the heat of jealousy smouldering in his chest, coiling in his gut like something alive, something dangerous. he had walked to the nearest chair and collapsed into it, his legs splayed wide apart as his shoulders slumped under the soft, amber glow of the setting sun that streamed through the windows. the sorcerer let his head fall back against the chair, eyes closed.
how absolutely ridiculous, he thought, running his fingers through his tousled hair. no, he just couldn't stop it. couldn't stop thinking about how badly he wanted you. wanted you to want him too. and now, with the way youâd left, with that knowing smile on your lips, all he could imagine was the man you were with now, the man whoâd be holding the door open for you, whoâd be pulling out your chair, whoever the hell he was.
maybe even a casual, non-sorcerer. some random guy that you had indulged because he was no threat. but he wouldn't be able to touch you, not in the way that you demanded. the man would laugh at your jokes, brush his hand against yours, but wouldn't be able to let a real smile bubble from your lips like satoru could.
and what would that man do next?
would he try to take you back to his place? some small poorly-lit apartment where he'd try to kiss you, to claim your lips without even pulling away for air. would you kiss him back, curling into his frame?
before gojo's even registered what he's doing, his own hand has found his hard cock. despite the tattle of assistance, and dreamy-eyed mongers, pleasure is rare for him. relief, even less so. his schedule just doesn't allow it, and so he oft find himself chasing some distant contentment like this, alone in his rooms.
but he squeezes at the wide hilt, at his base, pulling his hands up, upwards as his brows furrow under blindfold, and he tugs the offending fabric off, away from him, as laden balls smack against his wrist.
maybe the man would then trail his lips down your neck, maybe he'd try to slowly sink his teeth into delicate flesh, leaving blooming purple marks that wouldn't fade, not when gojo saw you tomorrow.
he's running his curled hand up towards the fat mushroom tip, almost glowing pink with heat and pre-cum that's leaving his hand slicked with faint moisture, "shit, that's it."
then what? he can imagine your teasing smile as you decide to take your pleasure as you see fit. how you'd suddenly push this faceless man off, and move so you're straddling him, letting his hands wander around the curve of your hips, digging into plush flesh.
now he's starting to pant, open-mouthed, "ah - fuck! wish i had you here, right here." gojo must be a madman, breathing out to the empty, open air.
but in his mind's eye, you're reaching behind your back to undo the zipper on your outstandingly tight dress, giving the faceless man a coy smile as you push the fabric of your dress down, letting your plentiful tits spill out and against the man's chest.
his wrist is moving faster now, and there's a cramp starting to build up as he pistons his hand over his stretched shaft, and one arm is thrown over his face â the soft hairs on his thick forearm tickling his face as he tries not to gasp or whine too loudly, but he's bucking his ups now, pretending that it's not his hand that he's spilling into, but your tight cunt. and later, he shudders and tenses up, with apologies whispered into the air, "look, look - shit, i'm sorry - i'm sorry. couldn't help it, fuck." and gojo's bitten his lips so hard that he's certain he's drawn blood, vibrant red blooming on pale, creamy skin.
and a lamp had exploded as he came. damn, he'd have to replace that.
you don't deserve someone like him, no. not when he's sitting here, absolutely filthy with thick, white seed entirely over his tense abdominal muscles and stiff hand. not when he's trying to catch his breath after imagining how snug your pussy would feel around him, and how you'd beg for him to give it to you harder.
you didn't deserve someone so messed up with guilt, with mistakes, with the kind of weight that made him too much for anyone, let alone someone like you. didn't you deserve better than a tortured man who couldn't control himself, better than an overzealous mentor who was supposed to keep his distance, to do what was right.
but that didnât stop his thoughts from swirling, as he separated damp, thick thighs from the smooth surface of the chair, reaching for a tissue. he couldnât help it. and it made him feel like a damn fool.
the meeting room buzzed with tension, voices rising in sharp, clipped exchanges â some angry, some demanding and others clueless and questioning. gojo had woken up in a foul mood that morning, with some ill-gotten storm brewing beneath his chest. perhaps it was the thoughts of you that lingered from the night before, a gnawing jealously that left him feeling too tight in the stiffness of the uniform dress pants.
but he had forced himself to be dragged through this meeting, plastering a snarky light-hearted grin over his face as he leaned against the wall, letting the higher-ups argue themselves into oblivion.
amidst the storm of words, gojo's focus was nowhere near the mission being discussed. no, his attention was fixated entirely on you. you stood at the far end of the table, eyes flashing with ire as you tore into some pompous old fool whoâd dared question your power. the others in the room shifted uncomfortably, deferring to you, as they often did, despite your youth. you had that rare combination of presence and bite that made people recoil back when you sunk your teeth into them, and this was not a knot gojo was interested in unraveling.
kojiro, one of the bumbling administrators, had turned his babbling attention to gojo, "you're still planning to face that curse head-on, gojo-san?" the poor man is wringing his hands at gojo's flat look (made all the more unreadable through a blindfold, satoru would wager), "don't you think it would be well - unwise? instead of expending your time and energy on one cursed spirit, you could handle five lesser ones. efficiency, you see."
gojo's gaze briefly flickers back to you, standing with your arms crossed as one hand fiddles with the end of your braid as your petal-pink lips scowl at some other official with words that don't fit his stature. your other hands keeps reaching around your neck, adjusting a plaid scarf over and over, like you're desparate to hide something under the fabric . well, fuck that.
"i'm aware of the risks," gojo turns his attention back to the matter, "but no one here has time for hesitation. if the curse is special grade, don't you at least think that delaying with lead to more destruction?"
"is it really the cursed spirit youâre worried about, takumi-san?" you asked, your voice low, the kind of voice that could make someone forget their own name.
gojo's gaze snapped to you from under the blindfold, but you werenât looking at him, not even speaking at him. instead, you were locking eyes with one of the other sorcerers â takumi, a grade two with a shaggy mop of golden hair, one who had been a student alongside you and hardly subtle in his admiration for you.
gojo tries to hide a scoff at how takumi's eyes are wandering over you, ignoring the newpapers that have been flattened on the meeting table, with bold inked letters reading doom-portents such as 'unexplained explosion, 4 dead and 12 injured."
time and place, man.
"you don't think i can handle this mission. if you're worried about me, just say so," takumi's now leaning into you, even as gojo tries to train his ear on kojiro's economic-obsessed babble instead.
gojo can see your eyes flicker to the dastardly newspapers as well, clearly curling your lips at the dour news and takami's disastrous attempt at getting his hands under your skirt. but he also knows that sharp glint in your eyes, the one when you toy with those around you, to pull them in without ever committing to anything. clearly, you've decided to indulge this game.
"takumi," and you draw out the younger man's name, "shouldn't you bring more strength to the table? of course, i'm worried about a friend getting hurt. but even if you were stronger, or the strongest, a special grade curse could do some real damage."
and your eyes have flicked right towards gojo, raking over his frame leaning against the pale cream walls. he's glad for the blindfold, so you can't see how he scowls and furrows his thin brows at you, at your blatant hopes for a reaction from him. were you so unobservant that you did not know how much you bothered him?
the pointed sharpness in your words made takumi pause, and for just a moment, gojo could see the manâs grin falter. it was clear that you werenât impressed by his attention, you had no need for his slimy attempts.
there was no mistake about it â this wasnât just a flirtation. this was a game you played, and gojo was not only aware of it; he was caught in it. he tries not to feel irrationally angry, fuck, so much of his life revolves around his work, his job and now he can't even do that properly without feeling like you're using your long nails to dangle something in front of him, wanting to snap his teeth out and snatch it.
so you wanted him to see this. you wanted to claim that you could unravel the strongest sorcerer from the heavens to the earth below, to make him lose his composure. gojo feels as if there is crackling ozone in the air, and wonders dimly if the weather forecast predicted a rain storm for later today.
takumi, sensing the shift, finally backed off with a huff, but not before giving all around him a lingering look, as if it was their fault that you weren't interested.
"enough distractions," kojiro's interjected, raking a finger through a beard streaked with gray, and he's shooting a pointed look at you, snapping rose-pink gum, and takumi, shuffling with his hands in his pockets. "we're here to discuss the mission, not flirt." and then, he's off mumbling something about how this was why he hated having younger sorcerers join the meeting rooms.
his ire only grew. gojo stood with his back against the wall, outside the meeting room, once everyone had left with his arms crossed tightly over his chest. you stood in front of him, your eyes flashing with anger, your chest rising and falling with each sharp breath.
"absolutely not," gojo stood his ground firmly, "no-one will let you go on this mission."
you stomped on the floor, once as your heels snapped an echo, "they will if you say so."
gojo stuffs his hands in his pockets, "who said that i would also allow you?"
you scoffed, folding your arms across your chest, mimicking his previous stance but with a clear defiance in your posture. "and why the hell not? i'm more than capable of handling it. it's my fucking choice, and how can extra help hurt?"
"enough!" gojo snapped, feeling a tense pain in between his eyes, "it's too dangerous. and you're too young -"
"too young!" you've interrupted him, "i'm not some helpless child, sensei. i'm a grade 1 sorcerer! one of the best, i don't need to be treated like i can't handle a mission."
"grade 1. not special-grade."
his eyes narrowed, his jaw tight. gojo could see the fury in your eyes, but there was something else there, something deeper, a vulnerability that he had seen before in students, some desire to prove themselves and be heaped with praise. he knew you were good, better than most â hell, better than many of the adults heâd seen. but this cursed spirit was unlike anything youâd faced before. and yet, here you were, challenging him, pushing him, daring him to stop you.
"you donât get it," he muttered, the words slipping from his mouth before he could stop them. "you think youâre invincible, but youâre not. you're too reckless."
"reckless!" now you had taken a step towards him, narrowing the space between you both. your eyes were fierce now, but there was something else in them â a spark of hurt that made his chest tighten, and gojo began to wander where this would start spiral. "iâm not reckless. i know exactly what iâm doing. the only reckless thing here is you thinking you have the right to control my every move."
"i'm the one in charge here," he said, his voice hoarse, the words coming out sharper than he intended. "and i'm telling you now, youâre not going. youâre not ready for this. don't involve the higher-ups in this."
you were so close now, just inches apart. his eyes flicked to your lips, with the arch of a blooming flower kissed by the sun, for a brief moment, and then back up to your face, where anger and frustration mixed with something else â a challenge.
"maybe thatâs the problem," you said, your voice quieter now, but still holding an edge. "you think i'm still some child who needs you to tell me what to do. maybe you just donât want me to outshine you."
the words are ridiculous, and he can see by the mild quiver as your throat bobs that you don't mean what you say. it takes a rare type of courage to tell the first person in four hundred years to be born with limitless and six eyes, that he could be outshined. but satoru doesn't say a word to rebuke your obvious and false bait.
your body is so close now that gojo could feel the heat of your skin, your breath brushing against his. he could smell the faint sweetness of vanilla again in the air mingled with fresh, crisp apples, could see the subtle shine of your lip gloss catching the light. it was a testament to his spirit, he thinks, that he did not lean in straight away and touch his mouth to yours in this scenario that certainly did not warrant it.
"you want me to stop you that badly?" he hissed, his voice a mix of frustration and something darker, that had not yet snapped. "is that what this is? a game? a way for you to get my attention? to see how far you can push me before i do snap?"
now he's got your tongue, and your expression has flickered for a brief moment before schooling into an impassive mask, and gojo briefly wanders if he's crossed an awful line and misinterpreted everything. if they're gonna stick a white dunce hat on his head and parade him through the streets of outer tokyo for being an assuming fool.
but then you've stepped even closer, your breath coming faster, the weight of your chest almost pressed against his, and gojo doesn't move and he's briefly aware that he's let his infinity down.
"partly, you know it's not just about you though. i do want to go on this mission, but -" you tilt your head and look right up at him, and the older man's head starts to reel from the fact that he was right all along, "i do want to see how far you can go before you snap."
his heart pounded, and for a moment, everything went still. all the tension, all the heat, the anger, and the desire â everything seemed to converge in the space between you. gojo's hand twitched, aching to touch you, but he held himself back, his muscles straining with the effort.
"stop,â he rasped, barely able to get the word out. "you donât know what youâre doing, or what you're asking for."
he's never felt quite like this before, breathless as if the air has been punched out of his lungs. all gojo could think was how much he wanted to pull you closer, to kiss you until there was nothing left between you.
but he couldnât.
he puts his hands on your shoulders, fingers digging into the expensive fabric of your top, and gently pushes you away.
"my decision is final. don't make this harder than this, you're forbidden from the mission."
how sick and twisted, that you've fled with embarrassed tears pricking at your eyes, and he's stuck with a raging erection.
well, he had seen worse. but it didn't make this curse any less vicious. it was ancient, he could presume, and maddening. its cursed energy was warping the night air like a violent storm. but again, not the worst thing that he had encountered in his twenty-eight years, and with the right timing, he'd been able to calculate every strike and counter.
but then he saw you.
at first, he thought it was a blur â a trick of the light. but then, there you were, standing at the edge of the pavement, your figure framed by the chaotic crackle of cursed energy. fuck your stubborn nature.
this is not what is meant to happen. gojo's heart has skipped a beat, and he's not sure what he's more furious with. you, for defying his concern for your safety. or himself, for getting so distracted in. a battle.
"what the fuck is wrong with you?"
yes, he knows you're good. good enough to move with precision against a special-grade curse, your stance instantly and suspiciously better than the other day in the training rooms. it's only through his six eyes that gojo has been able to keep a track of your movements as your jujutsu is able to dodge the creature's brutal force.
impressive. but reckless.
and that never lasts.
you had moved to cast your own cursed technique, but the curse was intelligent enough to anticipate it. with a sudden lash of its tail, the creature swung its power straight at you, knocking you off balance. you stumbled, your footing lost, and before you could react, a flash of dark energy slicing across your shoulder.
a scream had torn from your lips as you fell to the ground, blood spurting from the deep cut.
and briefly, just for a flicker of time, gojo sees a dark-haired man in violet robes leaning against a brick wall, with his shoulder torn off, 'at least curse me one last time.'
blood rushing in his ears, before he even realised it, he was on top of you, his body hovering over yours, his jujutsu flaring as he shoved the cursed spirit back with a brutal force that made the earth tremble, an exorcism that will not take long. he kneeled beside you, his breath ragged, eyes locked on the wound on your shoulder. the blood was already soaking your clothes, darkening the fabric as you winced, your breath shallow and unsteady.
"you ââ gojo isn't sure if his hand isn't shaking from how irate he is, "what the hell were you thinking? fuck, don't move."
your eyes were unfocused for a moment, but when they snapped to him, there was defiance there â even in this moment (get a grip!), as you gritted your teeth against the pain.
"save it, it's fine," you spat, your voice weak but vexed, "that bitch is still there."
"what did i tell you! what did i say would happen?" he cursed under his breath, focusing his reversed cursed technique as he tried to heal you, but the moment felt like an eternity as bright red blood moved too fast for him to seize it.
an assassin's blade in his throat, his arteries giving way and bubbling out and up.
now you don't answer, your eyes fluttering closed for a brief second. gojo's gaze darted to the cursed spirit, which was now advancing again, enraged by the interruption.
it wonât touch you again.
he stood, pulling you away from him, your body slumping slightly out of his arms. he could feel the heat of your blood soaking through his sleeve, but he had no time to dwell on it. the curse roared in fury, and gojo's infinity flared up around him again, a shield of pure energy blocking its path.
"stay down,â he growled, and all he received was a weak, "fuck, you think that's funny?"
it's only later when he's pulling you back up, that he realises that his reversed cursed energy has done enough to stem the bleeding, but not enough to leave you unharmed as your breath is shallow, your face taking on a more sickly pallor.
"donât you ever â ever âdo that again," he snarled, his voice raw and he wonders when something (or someone) has ever undone him so much. but the anger in his voice doesn't carry to his touch as he gently cupped your face, his thumb brushing over your cheek, tracing the lines of your jaw.
the sterile walls of your room did nothing to soften the tension in gojo's chest as he stood by your bed, his eyes tracing the curve of your sullen form beneath the sheets. your shoulder was bandaged, with red seeping slowly through the white strips.
"you really are unbelievable," he snapped, his voice sharp as he paced around the room, every step heavy with frustration. "i told you it was too dangerous. i told you not to fucking go."
you lay there, your eyes half-closed, as though you werenât even listening, but the twitching frown on your lips is sign enough that you're not as sorry. his fingers flexed at his sides, itching to do something â anything â to release the tension building in him.
"are you even listening to me?" he know he sounds bitter, over-reactionary, angry as he moved towards the edge of your bed.
you blinked slowly, your gaze still infuriatingly calm, "i'm fine, now. save the lecture."
he doesn't want to start sputtering so he settles for crossing his arms over his chest, but your voice breaks the silence again.
"you know i want to be a special grade sorcerer, right?"
gojo only looks down, not wanting to indulge an excuse and he studies the tight grip of his knuckles on his slender fingers, "well, i don't know why. the pay isn't that good." it's a weak attempt at a joke, but you're smiling.
"i was told i could only become one if i was the one to exorcise that special grade."
"by who? the higher-ups?" and you nod, wincing as you do.
what a fucking surprise. the way that the jujutsu world works is no surprise to gojo by now, having been surrounded by it his entire life. but the harshness of their reality still shocks him, old and doddering officials who cling to their silk robes are prone to sending out younger sorcerers (those who are still green, barely out of school) to do their dirty work for them, and the cemetery outside of jujutsu tech is ever growing.
he ground his teeth together, his chest tightening as he stared down at you. the bandages, the damp skin, the stillness of your body â it made him want to tear something apart. "fine! if they were giving you a hard time, why didn't you just come to me then?" he repeated harshly.
"would you go ask someone to help you, for something like this? if you were asked to prove yourself?"
gojo runs his tongue behind his teeth, "i'm the strongest, princess. i don't need to ask for help."
you groan, turning your head away from him, but a faint smile dances upon your lips.
he inhales sharply, his fingers digging into the edge of the bed. "you think this is a joke?"
"all four limbs are attached and i'm living and breathing. okay, so fine. my bad. i won't do it again. will you stop snapping at me now, at everything -" and gojo wonders if there's really some hurt colouring your voice, "what's going on?"
the words slip out, rough and unrestrained. "whatâs going on is that youâre driving me insane. you act like this doesnât matter, like i can just stand by and let you throw yourself into danger like itâs nothing â like you donât matter â but you do. you do matter."
his chest was heaving now, his hands shaking as he reached out and grabbed your wrist. his thumb brushed over your pulse, the tiny fluttering beneath your skin driving him wild. "i canât â i canât just stand there and watch you get hurt," he continued, his voice hoarse. "you donât get to do whatever you want without consequences, damn it. you donât get to make me feel this way, and then pretend like it doesnât matter."
for a moment, there was silence. gojo's pulse was hammering in his ears, his body coiled with the intensity of everything he was trying to say. everything he was trying not to say. everything he wanted to act upon.
and then, with a slow, almost lazy smile, you turned towards him, "i didn't know the great gojo satoru was like this. who would have thought?"
his breath hitched in his throat. gojo wanted to say something, to snap at you again, to maintain that distance â but the truth was that the distance between the two of you had disappeared these past few weeks. his chest tightened, his hands trembling as they slid to your face, fingers tracing the line of your jaw, and he relished how your facade almost cracked and you lightly shivered.
at least, he hoped you were shivering because of his touch. and not, like, a fever building up from your injuries.
fuck it.
and then, before he could stop himself, gojo was leaning down, his lips crashing into yours with all the force he could muster, desparate and hungry and that frustration and fear that he had been holding onto. his hand cupped the back of your neck, pulling you towards him with a force that made your breath catch, as you responded with a soft gasp.
had he misstepped? no, for you kissed him back, tentatively at first, as if you were testing the waters, but then building up to a sudden urgency that mirrored his own. your hands slid to his chest, fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt as you pushed yourself closer to him, before crying out.
"ah! fuck, my shoulder."
small beads of blood surfaced where your collarbone met your shoulder, each one glistening like tiny rubies against your warm skin. they gathered slowly, delicate droplets that clung to you before tracing faint, uneven lines downward. the red stood out, vivid and fresh, dotting your skin in a stark, almost mesmorising gojo as they welled up and began to trick in thin, crimson trails.
"stay still," gojo rasped, his voice low and rough as he leaned in, pressing closer. his mouth met the fresh blood pooling on your skin, tongue tracing over the small rivulets that had seeped from beneath the bandage.
he lingered, almost savouring the taste, his eyes darkening as the sharp tang of iron lingered on his tongue, smacking his lips slightly as he drew back, gaze fixed intently on you, on your heavy breathing as he stole away another kiss from you.
gojo's lips left yours briefly, his breath ragged as he stared down at you, his eyes wild underneath the blindfold, gasping as your nails reached up to hook the fabric down so his hair loosened, falling around his face.
you were staring back at him, breathless and wide-eyed, and in that moment, gojo knew â he couldnât stay away from you. no matter how much he tried.
your lips were soft, so soft, but there was fire behind the way you kissed him back, your hands landing on his chest, nails digging into the fabric of his shirt. he groaned, deep in his throat, and his fingers threaded into your hair, pulling you closer.
his mouth moved urgently over yours as he shifted to stand beside the bed, his body hovering over you, every muscle tense, straining with the desire that he had tried so hard to ignore. gojo just couldn't think about anything else.
and your lips broke apart only briefly, and you let out a soft laugh, that damn, dangerous laugh of yours. "you're greedy, you know that."
his chest heaved, and his heart pounded in his ears, and blood was now pounding to his nether regions. he wasnât sure if it was the previous anger or the ache between his ribs, but he couldnât stop himself as he threaded his fingers through your soft hair, "i am greedy. greedy for you. only you - mmph! shit!"
you had run your long, painted nails (with the little painted charms on the end) down his neck before pressing them, hard enough to cause a sharp sting.
"you wanted to put me through hell," he whispered harshly, and his lips brushed against your ear as he spoke, "until i realised i liked it. until i realised i wanted you, all of you."
his hands moved down to your waist, squeezing gently as his lips found the tender spot beneath your ear, trailing kisses there, letting his teeth sink in, to see small bruises appear. gojo's breath was ragged as he fought to keep control, and something deeper inside of him roared with the need to claim you completely.
"youâre mine," he growled against your skin, the words hot and possessive. "i don't care what happens. youâre mine now."
you tilted your head, still smiling, but this time there was something different in your eyes â something that burned with the same intensity. "if i'm yours, what are you going to do about it? hmm, satoru?"
and that final thread, that last remnant of honour that he had been nurturing and holding onto, snapped.
"is this what you want, princess?" he draws out the nickname, letting it roll off his tongue, as you suddenly inhale sharply. his hands are all over you now, large hands exploring and kneading at your torso, and before he can even let you blink, they're under your top.
he's pressing his hot mouth to your sternum, wet and open-mouthed, and he wonders what sort of effect you have on him. what force in the world leave him panting like this, desparate as his hands find their way behind your back, to unclip whatever's holding your tits in place â just so he can reach back and run his palms over your hard nipples, flicking them and rolling them in between his fingers.
and faintly, in the back of his mind, he's aware that his reversed cursed technique must be working overtime, because suddenly you're rolling forward into him with no care in the world for your previously injured shoulder, as your own hands trail down the front of body, right over his bulge.
but he slaps your hand away, pressing you flat against the mattress, "fuck, not yet. you think i'm just going to let you get away with all this," and as you mewl a soft yes, followed by a please, he rolls his eyes, "wait. behave and i'll give you what you want."
and then, softer, "need to make sure you're ready first."
his arms are caging both sides of your head, and he's got one hand on the headboard (although, you will marvel at the burnt imprint that he's left, later) and the other is tearing your top off, just so he can lean down and let his canines press into the soft fat of your chest, so he can slip a pointed nipple into his mouth and tug it, ever so gently.
but gojo needs to continue lower, and his hand squeezes at the waistband of your short skirt, snapping the elastic twice as you heave your bare chest, "please, please, satoru!"
it's heaven down here for him, and gojo's dizzy at how outstandingly wet you are, with just a single swipe of his fingers in the soft, damp fabric of your underwear.
your clear, sticky arousal clung to his fingers, stretching in thin, glistening threads as he spread your thighs apart, knocking your knees to either side so he could slot himself in between them. your slick shimmered slightly under the light, translucent and tacky and he just couldn't help himself, bringing them up to his mouth to slowly taste.
"shit, princess. you taste so good, can't believe this is what i've been missing out on."
he's playing an instrument, he thinks. gliding his fingers along sodden folds, twirling his index finger past a thick wad of skin and pressing right over your clit in hot, tight circles that have you bucking your hips, "hnngh, right - ah, right there 'toru!"
'toru.
as a reward, he plunges his middle finger straight into your gaping heat, your tight wall of ringed muscles that had been fluttering in light pulses for his attention. fuck, he almost reaches his own climax by feeling how you squirm and writhe, moan and mewl as he starts pushing his finger in, and then out.
in, and then out. in, once more. and out, again. and then, another finger.
his fingers sank into your soft, damp pussy â which yielded easily enough with a soft pssh! as the digits pressed in. gojo pulled his hand back out from your thighs, enjoying the tight resistance and suction as your cunt has resisted being empty once more, leaving a cool moistness on his skin.
but now your hands gently cup his face, and he isn't sure how to not crumble with how you look at him, eyes wide and glossy, "wan' more, want your cock, 'toru."
now, gojo feels as though he's truly ascended, gone onto some higher plane of existence. because how can he resist when your hands are weakly pawing at his belt, at his waistband and he's letting you pull his thick shaft out.
it's hot, and already weeping angry tears of pre-cum, and he just loves how your eyes widen at the sheer size and girth.
"yeah, princess was sooo brave earlier, wasn't she? wanted my cock, ah! shit - did she?" and he's letting the wide tip lay heavy against your clit, knocking it once, and then twice, through your heavenly folds.
you've reached a leg up, and around his waist, pulling him closer and gojo has to pierce his lip with his teeth to not let out a gutteral groan from his cock sliding through the your folds, "i don't - don't care, i really don't fucking care if it's too big. just put it in now, m' so wet, i'm wet enough."
your babble is endearing, and he marvels at how easily he has you cock-drunk without even being in you right now. he jostles further, until the tip is right at your flittering entrance, pressing forward and slipping through the heated, slick gummy texture in a way that has the strongest's head spinning.
"easy, princess. oh fuck, you're too tight. way too tight, i'm gonna -" and gojo inhales, steadying himself, as the wet heat enveloped him as he moved, each slide through the soft walls of your pussy leaving him acutely aware of every inch, the warmth coating him further until your slick was dampening the white, stray hairs of his groin.
he pulls your lips close again, one hand coming up to gently cradle your head, and his fingers weaving slowly through your hair.
"you're so deep in me, 'toru! so - hnngh," and your words are cut off by a staccato thrust of his hips, and your teeth clack around a moan that gojo gladly swallows.
"hey, i'm right here. i've got you, yeah? got you so good, just hold onto me."
and he keeps a steady pace, plunging into molten silk, with a sensation so intense and so enveloping that it left him breathless, with a rush of heat that made his head spin.
he's toying with your tits, pressing his face into the shadow that lies between your mounds, and gojo's certain that he could die a happy man like this, exactly like this.
he realises that the faint laugh is coming from him, so distant is he in his pussy-drunk reverie, that he realises he must look and sound like a madman, "pretty pussy is so tight, so fucking tight. haah, i think i'm gonna have to fill you up, gorgeous?" and he must be blathering, "want me to fill you up? shit- want me to stuff... ah! stuff you so full of cum that we just hafta stay in this bed all day then?"
he had his fingers now moving in circles over your throbbing clit, exerting a gentle pressure that had you so beautifully keening and bucking your hips up, jolting right into his pelvis. and gojo bit back as a groan as his heavy balls started to smack, and smack! over and over again, right onto your dampened skin.
"she must be close right, pretty little pussy must be almost tired now," and gojo's now slapping your clit, lifting three fingers up and bringing them down with enough force to not harm you, but make you jolt, "she. must. be. so. close." and each word is punctuated by the slippery spank of his fingers bouncing right off your mound.
"makes me want to have you - you and her," and gojo's revelling in the slick of your pussy, now throwing his head back without shame.
and when your walls start to flutter, when you start writhing in his grasp, pressed right against his chest with your legs knocked back as far as they reach on other side of his broad frame, he feels himself unravel. feels the rhythmic quake of your tight cunt literally milk him dry, letting pools of thick, white seed plug within you, and he almost shakes and tears up himself, at the idea of claiming you like this.
later, he has you resting against his chest and the knot in his chest, that nasty plague that sent him afoul has disappeared, and gojo feels as though he's about to start purring, from the feeling of your nails trailing little shapes over his skin (little hearts, perhaps?) and how soft your hair feels under his own hands. he can't resist himself from pressing his lips softly to your forehead, "happy?"
you laugh, a genuine, soft sound that erupts from your chest as you press your bare body into him, "you have no idea."

The Perfect First Date
Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw x Female Reader
Summary: Rooster watches you go on failed date after failed date, often being the one to rescue you with a ride home at the end of the night. When you tell him you've never experienced proper romance, he's shocked, and makes it his mission to take you on the perfect first date, he just wasn't planning on falling for you in the process.
Warnings: fluff, some strong language, that's about it i think
Length: 4k
You shivered as you stood outside the restaurant, silently praying that you wouldn't bump into the disastrous date you'd just left as you waited for Rooster to pick you up. He was always your first call in situations like this and it seemed like he really didn't mind. Often, if he knew you were going on a date, he'd wait up for you to make sure you were okay. He'd told you that once after a few drinks at the Hard Deck.
You and Rooster had been friends for a while, ever since you both got called back to Top Gun. You'd never been close while you were both actually at Top Gun, but with the stress of the mission you'd all been called back for, a close friendship between the entire group blossomed. Of course, you'd had a major crush on him back when you'd studied there, but you'd never tell him that. You and Phoenix laugh about it sometimes, he'd never even glanced your way at Top Gun, and now the two of you were great friends, go figure.
You shivered again as the breeze got stronger, before finally seeing Rooster in his signature blue bronco. You grinned and got in the car, fastening your seatbelt quickly.
Rooster chuckled, "Somebody's in a rush to get home." he said as he pulled away from the restaurant.
"You bet your ass I am." you replied, finally feeling comfortable enough to relax, "I swear, that might be the worst date I've been on yet."
He rolled his eyes playfully, "And where did you meet this guy again?"
You paused, "Tinder." you muttered.
He slowed the car as the lights in front of him turned red and shifted to face you, "Most of these 'dating app' guys are only after one thing, you know that right, sweetheart?"
Your stomach always did a flip when he used nicknames like that. Even though you were definitely over your childish crush, you also weren't blind. Rooster was hot and there was no denying it.
You ran a hand through your hair and leaned your head against the window as he began driving again, "I know. For once I just wanna be, I don't know, romanced."
Rooster frowned and glanced at you, "Romanced? What do you mean?"
You shrugged and gazed out of the window, "I guess I want to know what it feels like to be taken on a proper date, something really cheesy, you know? Like where the guy buys me flowers and everything-"
"You've never had a guy buy you flowers?" he cut in, shocked.
You turned to look at him and shook your head, "No. Never."
You could see the gears turning in his head as he continued, "So, hold on, you've never had anything even remotely romantic happen to you? Ever?"
You tried to think, but ended up shaking your head when you realised that you didn't have any striking romantic memories at all. All your life, work was your main focus. Of course, you'd had a couple relationships, but you'd never been surprised with a planned date or a romantic weekend away, and they mostly ended up dumping you in the end anyways, often saying you were 'married to your job'.
Rooster huffed as he pulled up to your apartment, parking and turning the engine off before facing you, "That's just... That's insane, everyone deserves romance."
You chuckled slightly, "I guess it just doesn't happen for some people, Rooster." you shrugged slightly and opened the passenger door, climbing out of the car, "Thanks for saving me again, see you tomorrow night for drinks?"
He nodded and watched as you walked into your building, wanting to make sure you were safely inside before driving away. You were on his mind the whole drive home. Well, not you specifically, it was mostly the fact that you were really missing out. He wouldn't tell most people this, but he loved romance and being romantic in general. Hell, for him that was the best part of a relationship.
Okay, maybe not the best part.
When he got to his place, his mind was set. He was going to teach you that romance can happen to anyone, it just takes a decent man to do it. Then, maybe you'd stop going on these shitty dates and meet someone who actually deserved you.
The next night, he made his way to the Hard Deck like usual. You were already there with the rest of the squad, but he had to stop on the way. He glanced down at his passenger seat where a bouquet of roses lay, again huffing to himself that no man had ever gotten you flowers. What type of shitheads had you been dating? He pulled up and parked, quickly grabbing the flowers and making his way inside, looking effortlessly cool with his aviators hanging low on his nose.
He saw you immediately, sat by the pool table and chatting with Phoenix. He took a deep breath, wondering why he felt so nervous all of a sudden. It's not like he was asking you on an actual date, he was just doing this to help you out.
He walked towards you and you turned as you saw him, eyes glancing down to the roses held tightly in his hand, you grinned, "Don't tell me you're on Tinder now too, who are you meeting tonight?"
He stopped in front of you and Phoenix and held out the roses, "You."
You took them from him gently, you face frowning in confusion, "Me? Wha-"
"I've been thinking a lot about what you said last night." he began, as Phoenix looked between the two of you confused, "It isn't right, so.. I'm going to romance you." he smirked.
Phoenix raised her eyebrows, "You're gonna what?"
"Rooster, what are you talking about?" You asked.
He straightened up, his smirk breaking into a grin, "I'm going to take you on the perfect first date, show you how it's done." he said, "I'm going to raise your standards, sweetheart."
There was the stomach flip again.
"So," he continued, "tomorrow night, 7 o'clock, be ready." he winked, before turning away and joining Bob and Hangman at the pool table.
You slowly smelled the roses he'd given you, trying to hide your smile. Phoenix snorted, "I don't know what's going on, but looks like you're pleased."
You cleared your throat and quickly placed the roses onto the table near you, shaking your head, "It's not like that, we're friends. He's just being dramatic."
Phoenix nodded and rolled her eyes, "Typical Rooster."
Later that night, Phoenix approached him at the bar, "Please explain what your plan is here."
He took a sip of beer, "What are you talking about?"
She gestured to you, sat chatting on the other side of the room, "This 'perfect first date' shit," she chuckled, "seriously Rooster, what are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking that she needs someone to treat her right for once so she can stop dating assholes-"
"What then? Date you instead?" she smirked and crossed her arms.
Rooster frowned, "That's not-" he grunted, glancing at you across the room, a fleeting thought entering his mind of what it would be like to date you.
Phoenix smiled, patting his shoulder, "Don't go catching feelings." she smirked as she grabbed her drink and walked away.
Rooster chugged the rest of his beer. You were friends and you had been for a while, if he was going to catch feelings, he would have already. That's what he told himself as he ordered another beer.
-
When it hit 7 the next night, you really didn't know what to expect, or where all of this had come from. You knew Rooster was a gentleman at heart, so maybe your words had struck a nerve in him. Either way, you decided you had nothing to lose, this was just one friend helping out another.
The buzzer in your apartment rang, and knowing it was Rooster you let him up, opening the door once he knocked.
"You know," you said, grabbing your purse from the counter behind you, "I could have just come down to meet you."
"No way." he replied, holding out his arm for you to take, "The guy always comes to the door."
You chuckled and rolled your eyes, taking his arm as you both walked downstairs to his bronco. You reached for the handle of the passenger door but Rooster beat you to it, opening it up for you to get in, "Are you serious?" you giggled, as you climbed in the passenger's seat, "This is old-school stuff, no one does this anymore."
"Correction," Rooster began, leaning over you to buckle your seatbelt. He paused by your face, "None of the assholes you date do this anymore." He noticed your cheeks redden slightly and suddenly found it difficult to look away. He smiled slightly before straightening up, "The right guy will."
He shut your door and made his way around to the drivers seat, then buckled his own seatbelt and turned on the engine.
You bit your lip, "You know, it's really nice of you to do this Rooster but-"
"Rooster?" he frowned playfully, "This is meant to be a first date, sweetheart, it's only right you call me by my actual name."
You chuckled slightly, before sighing in defeat, "Fine. Bradley."
Rooster could've sworn he felt his heart skip a beat as you said his name. He was pretty sure it was the first time he'd actually heard you say it, maybe aside from when he'd first met you in the early days of Top Gun. He was so focused back then, wanting to be the best of the best, that he'd never spoken much to you. He liked the way it sounded, he'd always thought you had a sweet voice and a part of him wanted to hear you say it again. He shook his head a little, reminding himself of the situation.
"Good." he said curtly, clearing his throat, "You wanna put some music on?" He grinned and glanced at the stereo, "Press play."
You raised your eyebrows at him, before giving in and pressing play, causing one of your favourite songs to come blasting through the speakers. You quickly turned to him in awe as he explained, "I remembered that one night I played this for you at the Hard Deck on the piano, I know you love it, so I got the CD."
You smiled brightly at him and again, he struggled to look away, especially once you started singing along. He sang with you, glancing over at you whenever he could, until the song ended.
"Perfect timing," he said, "We're almost there."
You glanced out the window as the beach came into view. Rooster saw you were confused, but it only spurred him on, excited to see if you would like what he planned. A part of him really wanted to impress you. He parked up as you turned to him, "The beach? Rooster what-" He cleared his throat to cut you off and you sighed, "Bradley, what are we doing here?"
Yep, there was no way you were ever calling him Rooster again.
He grinned, "You'll see," then he quickly got out of the car and rushed to open the passenger door for you, holding out his hand, "M'lady," he teased.
You couldn't help but laugh, taking his hand and stepping out of the car. He opened the back door and pulled out a picnic basket, before taking your hand in his again, "Ready?" he asked and you nodded, walking alongside him towards the beach.
You both walked in silence, but it wasn't awkward, in fact it felt comfortable. Rooster glanced down at your hands, he liked how big his were compared to yours, but somehow they fit perfectly together.
Eventually he stopped, reluctantly letting your hand go and placing the basket onto the sand, "What do you think, sweetheart? This a good spot?"
You chuckled and nodded as he took out a blanket and laid it carefully on the ground. You both sat down and he placed the picnic basket in between you, "I hope you're hungry, I got all your favourite things."
He opened the basket and you peaked inside, seeing all of your favourite snacks as well as a bottle of wine, "How did you even know all my favourite foods?" you asked.
He grinned, "I asked around." he reached into the basked and pulled out two wine glasses, "Would the beautiful lady like some wine?"
Your cheeks felt warm as you nodded and watched him pour you a small glass. You took it from him as he poured his own and once he was done, he turned back to you, "So, tell me about yourself."
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "What are you talking about, you already know me."
"Nope," he tutted, "This is a first date, right? I don't know anything about you yet, but I want to, that's the whole point."
You chuckled, "Wow, most of the time the guy just goes on and on about himself."
"That's because they're shitty guys," he grinned, "So, tell me about yourself, even if I've already heard it, pretend I haven't."
"Okay, uh," you paused and tried to think, "well, I'm a pilot in the Navy."
"A pilot, huh?" Rooster nodded slowly, trying to pretend this was news to him, "And what's that like?"
You smiled, "It's.. a lot. I love it though, I wouldn't give it up for anything." Rooster's smile mirrored yours, because he felt the same way about it, you continued, "Some of the guys I work with can be a real handful though."
His head tilted to the side and he smirked, "Oh really?"
You nodded, "Especially this one guy, got a real silly callsign too, something like.. Duck? Chicken?"
You giggled and he snorted, "Silly huh? Nah, I bet he's cool, gotta be handsome too."
You pretend to think it over, tapping your chin in thought, all the while your smile never left your face, "I guess he's okay." you shrug eventually, taking a sip of wine.
"Just okay?" Rooster raised his eyebrows as you giggled. He'd always know he loved your laugh, but somehow he loved it even more when you were laughing at something he'd said. It was the third time so far he had to remind himself of the situation.
"Fine, he's very handsome." you grinned, "Maybe not as handsome as Hangman but..."
Rooster chuckled, shoving you playfully, "Shut up." he laughed, secretly hoping that wasn't what you actually thought.
You sighed dramatically, "At least Hangman actually acknowledged me while we were at Top Gun."
Rooster smiled slightly, "Guess I just knew how much of a distraction you'd be back then."
You snorted, "Or you were going through a moody teenager phase."
"That's probably true, yeah." he nodded slowly, chuckling to himself.
You smiled, "It's fine, that was years ago anyway. I'm glad we're friends now."
He smirked, "Friend-zoning me on the first date? That's just cruel, sweetheart." You giggled again, and Rooster felt his smile get bigger. He realised he'd never had a date where the conversation flowed so easily, even though this wasn't technically a 'date', he wondered if things would be different if it was.
Your rested your head on his shoulder as the sun began to set, "Wow." you said in awe, "The sunset's beautiful."
Still thinking everything over in his head, Rooster nodded, glancing down at you. He could see the sunset reflected in your eyes and you looked so relaxed, content, "Yeah it is." he muttered, even though the sunset was the last thing on is mind.
A little while later, you'd packed up all the food and walked back to his car. He put the picnic basket on the back seat and opened the door for you again. You'd playfully rolled your eyes at him but said nothing, getting in the car quietly, feeling slightly disappointed the night was almost over.
Rooster noticed himself driving slower than usual on the ride back, trying to soak up all the time with you he had. He tried not to think too much of it, telling himself it was nothing as he arrived at your apartment. He walked you to your door, again insisting it was the 'gentlemanly' thing to do.
"I'm curious," you said, as you both stood in front of your apartment door, "All this tonight, is this actually the kind of thing you do on a first date with a girl?"
Rooster nodded, "A first date is important, sweetheart, I like to make a good impression."
You chuckled, "What about at the end of the night? How does the great 'Bradley Bradshaw' end the perfect first date?"
He smirked, "Well, for starters, I don't kiss on the first date, I wait until at least the second, it's just the way I was raised." he said, taking a step towards you, "but, there is something I do to, uh, leave a lasting impression."
You raised your eyebrows, "Go on."
Bradley smirked, agreeing to show you, "Okay so," he took a small step forward, so the space between you was nearly non-existent, "I gently tuck a piece of hair behind her ear," he said, doing so as he said it, "I look deep into her eyes and then I lean in to whisper," his voice was low as his lips came to your ear, "I had a really good time tonight, I'm hoping you'll let me see you again soon."
He moved back so was looking directly at you, your faces only inches apart, noses almost touching. His eyes felt stuck on yours and he felt this.. tug. Like he could easily just lean in and-
"You are so cheesy!" you giggled, pulling away from him and unlocking your door.
He cleared his throat, snapping out of whatever moment he was having, "It may be cheesy, but trust me, it works."
You rolled your eyes and stood in your door way, "I did have a good night tonight though, so thanks... Bradley. I definitely feel romanced now."
He shook his head slightly, forcing a smile, "No problem, sweetheart. Goodnight."
You smiled and said goodbye, shutting the door behind you as you walked into your apartment. Rooster really had delivered on his promise of the 'perfect first date', even he knew that as he stood looking at your door. He was about to knock, but decided against it, making his way back to his car instead. He didn't even know what he was planning to say, it was that stupid tugging feeling again that had almost overtaken him.
He barely slept that night, his mind was stuck on you and how much fun he'd had. Sure, he been on other dates but this one was so easy. He thought he'd have to force himself to be romantic with you, but in reality, it had felt like second nature to him as soon as he realised that all he wanted was to see you smile. That and the cute little surprised look you'd gotten on your face when you'd seen that he'd brought all your favourite food. Even when you were both singing in the car, he felt himself wishing it was an actual date.
He tossed and turned, thinking back to your time at Top Gun, back to when you two weren't friends. All this time you'd thought he never noticed you, but that was the problem. He had noticed you back then, you were hard to miss, he just couldn't let himself get distracted like that, plus he was still working through all the issues he had, so it was easier for him to not look your way. And now you were just friends. Friends.
It was around 3am when he woke up to a startling thought.
He had wanted to kiss you. He'd been so close until you pulled away and now all he could think about was what it would be like.
Damn.
He was so fucked.
-
Rooster tried to avoid you at work, but that only made him feel worse because he wanted to see you more than anything. You eventually found him at the end of the day anyways, walking up to him with a smile. How had he never noticed how pretty your smile was before. God, he was really spiralling.
"Hey!" you grinned, "I haven't seen you all day!"
"Yeah." he cleared his throat, "Sorry, been busy."
You nodded slowly, but the air felt tense and awkward. "I really enjoyed the other night, you've really opened my eyes, Bradley, or I guess I should get back to calling you Rooster now, right?"
Rooster shrugged, trying to seem as casual as he could, "Yeah.. right."
You smile, "Okay, then Rooster, guess what? I've got another date, and not from Tinder this time."
He stiffened, his heartbeat pounding in his ears, "Oh really?"
You nod, seemingly pleased with yourself, "Yep, it was a real meet-cute too. He helped me reach a top shelf at the supermarket and ended up asking for my number."
Rooster frowned, he didn't want another guy reaching high shelves for you, he could do that just fine. He didn't want you on another date with a guy at all. He really wanted to kick himself, he never would have felt this way if he hadn't taken you out. Then again, the more he thought about it, he'd always had a soft spot for you. Why else would he go out of his way to pick you up on a date night, instead of going out on a date himself. If he wanted to go out with someone, he definitely could, he'd been given enough numbers at the Hard Deck to know that.
He cleared his throat, tearing his eyes away from you, "Well, I hope it goes well."
You laughed, "I don't know. You've set the bar way too high now, as soon as he disappoints me, I'm leaving."
Rooster internally hoped he would disappoint you as you said goodbye and walked off down the hall, heading home for the day. A thought came to mind that if you were together, he'd be joining you on your drive home. Maybe you'd both stay up together and watch a movie, order some takeout, then after..
He blinked a few times and shook his head, trying to clear his mind quickly. Once he was home, he had another sleepless night, the thought of you with someone else nagging at him.
-
The night of your big date, Rooster found himself sat with his friends in the Hard Deck, checking his phone every few minutes in case you needed him to pick you up. The longer it took for a text to come, the more riled up he got, wondering if it was going well, if he was going to have to see you both together anytime soon-
"Stop moping." Phoenix chuckled, interrupting his thoughts. He put his phone back in his pocket as she stood in front of him, sipping her beer.
Rooster scoffed, "I'm not moping, I'm fine."
"No, you're not." she smirked, sitting herself down next to him.
"I don't know what's wrong with me, Nat, I should be happy for her but.." he sighed, rubbing his hands over his face, "It doesn't matter anyway, we're just friends."
She snorted, "So you finally realise you have feelings for her but it's too late because she's taken your advice and gone out with a decent guy, you both have really great timing."
Rooster frowned, "What?"
Phoenix put her beer down and faced him, "She had the biggest crush on you in Top Gun, don't tell me you didn't know."
Rooster's eyes widened, "She- No way."
"I can't believe you didn't know!" Phoenix chuckled, "It's just funny, she was convinced you'd never see her like that, I mean, you barely said two words to her our whole time there, and now.."
Rooster groaned, "She had a crush on me all that time and I missed my chance." his face fell into his hands as he mumbled, "I'm such an idiot."
Phoenix rolled her eyes, "Yeah, you are." he lifted his head and looked up at her, "You guys have been walking the line between friends and more than friends for a while now, I don't know how you don't see it, but she has feelings for you Rooster, just like you do for her."
"She's on another date right now with another guy-"
Rooster felt his phone buzz in his pocket.
Hey are you free? Could use some saving right about now.
It was from you. Phoenix read the message over Rooster's shoulder, "Go get your girl."
-
You sat on a bench a few minutes down from the restaurant you'd left. Rooster was on his way, and really this was always the best part of a date for you anyways, joking around with him in the car on the way home. Yet you couldn't help but feel slightly dejected, since you'd really gotten your hopes up for tonight and the guy ended up being exactly like the rest.
You looked up as his bronco stopped in front of you. You were about to stand when the engine switched off and Rooster got out, sitting himself down on the bench beside you.
"You okay?" he asked.
You shrugged and nodded, "I'm fine, guess I just thought he would be different but he wouldn't even look up from his phone." you sighed, "Then he expected me to want to go back to his place, after barely saying two words to me all night! That was when I messaged you."
He nodded, "Good." he cleared his throat, "You had a crush on me back in Top Gun, huh?"
Your eyes went wide, "What? Who told you that?"
He smiled a little, "You know why I wasn't friendly with you back then?" you frowned in confusion as he continued, turning to face you on the bench, "Because when I first saw you, I wanted to ask you out, but I also wanted to be the best, so that had to come first for a while."
"I don't understand," you said, turning to face him too.
He chuckled, his eyes stuck on yours as he tucked a stray hair behind your ear, "I told you, I knew you'd be a distraction."
Your eyes met as you asked, "Wait- You liked me?" Rooster nodded, he was playing with a piece of your hair, twirling it around his finger, "Why are you telling me this now?"
"Because I've realised the crush I had on you never went away, and I've gotten to be the best, so now I wanna tackle the asking you out part." he replied, his hand coming to rest on your cheek.
You raised your eyebrows, smiling a little and leaning into his touch, "The perfect second date?" He nodded as you said, "Okay, Rooster."
He leaned in a little, "I think from now on you should call me Bradley."
You slowly nodded, smiling and muttering, "Okay, Bradley." He smiled back at you, before he leaned in and kissed you gently. His hands travelled from your cheeks down to your waist and his thumb began rubbing circles on your hips. Rooster was in heaven, your kiss every bit as good as he thought it would be.
When you broke away from each other, breathless and red-faced, he tenderly kissed your head. You smiled, "I thought you didn't kiss until the second date."
"If our second date has to be on a random bench for me to finally kiss you, then I'll take it."

a/n: this is such a shitty chapter but please bear with me i had such a terrible creative block!!! god i hate it here
a stroke of luck.
when joshua was found, both rafe and y/n were far. well, rafe wasnât that far, but she had really disappeared. the next day, rafe still wanted to send a message to her and let her know that everything was done, but that number didnât exist anymore.
as a precaution, rafe was always around, wanting to know if there was any suspicion about joshuaâs death, but apparently, everyone there knew that he was âa time bomb about to explodeâ. the neighbors saw y/n leaving with all of her belongings, so they assumed that he couldnât take it and took his own life.
âi knew one of them would end up dead,â an older woman told a friend, and rafe paid attention. âand i prayed it wouldnât be her, because she was a good person. he would get drunk and when she would say sheâd leave, heâd threaten to kill her and then himself. iâve heard their arguments!â
in the end, y/n received a good amount of life insurance for still being legally married to him. good for her.
and life went on, as it would. as it should.
rafe continued his infamous business of killing for money, and whenever someone contacted him, he was disappointed that it wasnât her. as much as he didnât want to admit, he always caught himself thinking about her and wondering how she was doing, if she was okay.
rafe has seen grotesque scenes that no longer bother him, but imagining joshua putting his dirty hands around her neck, or scaring her makes his blood boil, because heâs done it before with his own sister, and thatâs his biggest regret. if thereâs a heaven and a hell, rafe knows very well where heâs going, and heâs already come to terms with it, but one thing heâll never do again in his life is to be violent towards another woman - any woman.
even a hitman needs to have some morals.
the fear in sarahâs eyes still disturbs him. when he goes to sleep, thatâs all he dreams of. he relives the moment all night long, and then he drinks to forget it, but it doesnât help - the image of him nearly killing his own blood is too much.
when he remembers that day at the diner, he canât get the image of her out of his head - she looked so small, so defeated. deep down, rafe knows all of the answers to the questions he asks himself. heâs smarter than he gives himself credit for.
(...)
the life of a hitman can actually be very lonely, something rafe still struggles to deal with. every once in a while he goes for a walk in the park when his mind is going places he doesnât want to go.
an autumn afternoon in chicago is like a scene from a painting, where natureâs colors are in their full, fiery splendor. as he steps outside, the air is crisp but not too cold, just enough to warrant a light jacket, with the occasional breeze that carries the earthy scent of fallen leaves. the cityâs famous skyline stretches against a sky that shifts between deep blue and soft gray, as the sun begins its descent, casting golden light over everything.
heâs trying so hard to see beauty in things, to keep himself afloat. rafe is numb. not even the hardest drug can make him feel anything. sometimes he does admire the nature around him, and to see the blue of the sky, in its immensity, makes him realize that, in a good way, none of this is real. none of this means anything.
we are all just cells, wandering around.
the sounds of the city seem a little softer in the fall, as people slow down to take in the beauty around them. a gentle hum of traffic can be heard in the distance, while the occasional laughter of children playing outside or the sound of a distant train passing through the city adds to the ambiance.
rafe has always had a soft spot for children. well, not exactly children, but what they represent. a kind of purity that seems untouched by the complexities and burdens of the adult world. itâs in the way they see the world with wide-eyed wonder, where everything is new and full of possibility. their joy is spontaneous, like a burst of laughter that rings out without reason, simply because they are in the moment. their innocence is also in their ability to feel deeply, yet let go just as easily. they live in the present, their hearts and minds unburdened by the weight of regret or worry. oh, and their unwavering belief in the goodness of the world. that sense of trust in the world, in people, in their own ability to be loved and to love in return, is a beautiful, fragile thing, one that people often lose or forget as they grow older (rafe knows it better than anyone else), but can still glimpse in the eyes of a child.
he would give anything to feel that way again.
whenever he remembers his childhood, rafe feels a sense of regret, an overwhelming desire to find a way to go back in time. oh, if only he could. be a child with no real worries. run through the freshly mowed grass, stumble and fall, and be comforted by his mother.
perhaps his luck has run out. heâs managed to leave a life of crime behind and come out of it mostly unscathed, he canât just think that he can expect to find love - any type of love - in the same lifetime.
while walking through the park, rafe notices a young woman sitting on the grass, enjoying an ice cream. she seems carefree, just in the moment, observing everything around her. as he walks, he manages to get closer to her and... oh my god.
itâs her.
itâs her.
with each step taken towards her, rafe feels his heart beat faster. a mix of anxiety and excitement for finally having found her, after a year.
he stops right next to her, with his hands on the front pockets of his jacket, and waits until she notices his presence. when she does, she looks up, shielding her eyes from the sun.
âhi.â
âoh, my god. cameron?!â
i'd love to know your thoughts!!!

Hi can I request 64 with Theo! Fluff please
<3
hi there, thanks for requesting đ with horror, iâve realized that i havenât written any theo fluff with these prompts yet, which iâm very happy to rectify right now.
prompt list
64. "âŚcake? seriously, now?!"
ۜৠnavigation ; masterlist ; theo m-list ; how to request
candlelight flickered in the corridor, casting trembling shadows onto the stone walls of the castle. the atmosphere would be rather eerie if not for the loud grumble of your stomach, which, to your embarrassment, echoed in the empty halls. thankfully, they were actually empty, and the door to the hogwarts kitchens was already right in front of you.
making sure that no patrolling prefects could sneak up on you, you tickled the pear on the painting, wincing as it giggled, and pulled the door handle, praying it wouldnât creak. inside, house elves were already out for the night, which made the whole affair a bit easier for you. your eyes searched the numerous tables, and finally, finally landed on something youâve been craving for ever since dinner â chocolate cake. absolutely delicious, drool-inducing chocolate cake that you only got the smallest taste of, since apparently your housemates also thought it was a really good cake, leaving only the tiniest piece of it for you.
just as you were about to bite into the sweet, delicious sponge of the cake, a weight colliding into your body nearly sent your flying to the floor. only a firm grip of someoneâs hand on your shoulder steadied you, preventing you from a potentially embarrassing fall.
"um⌠nott?"
you gave the guy who simultaneously bumped into you and saved you an incredulous once-over. meeting theodore nott, of all people, in the kitchens way past midnight was not on your bingo card for the day, yet there he was, a piece of chocolate sticking out of his mouth, an equally puzzled expression on his face. the sight was rather hilarious, making you chuckle, and a faint blush spread on his cheeks. he kept his expression stoic, though, quickly sucking the chocolate square into his mouth and nonchalantly shoving his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants.
"yeah, nott," he muttered sarcastically, rolling his eyes at your amusement. the last thing he needed was seeing you here, catching him in a shameless display of his sweet cravings. "âŚcake? seriously, now?!" theo asked, continuing on his sarcastic journey in an attempt to hide the fact that your unexpected appearance made him a bit flustered. or a lot.
"youâre one to talk," you retorted, your amusement growing as you eyed a brown stain adorning the corner of his mouth. theo noticed your gaze fixed on his lips and quickly licked away the sweet trace, biting the inside of his flushed cheek to stifle a smile threatening to expose his innermost feelings at the sight of you.
"canât a guy have his vices?" he answered with a shrug that he tried to make as casual as possible, given the situation. you chuckled at his pretend attitude, finally taking a bite of cake, as if to prove that you werenât ashamed about your late night escapade.
"letâs strike a deal," he proposed, leaning a bit closer despite his heart fluttering at the proximity â a feeling he refused to admit to enjoying. "you donât tell anyone about our⌠encounter and i get you some more of this cake for, say, a week."
you thoughtfully hummed as you mulled over his words in your head. as much as youâd love to giggle with your girlfriends about catching theo nott in the kitchens after curfew, the deal didnât sound half bad. "how awfully sweet of you, nott," you replied, your eyebrow twitching up. "is that all the chocolate talking?"
theo rolled his eyes again, letting out an exasperated sigh. "is that a no?" he asked in a flat voice, his lips pressing into a thin line as he waited for your response.
"never said that."
you bit your bottom lip, eyeing theo up and down again. theoâs heart fluttered again, something that he, of course, didnât plan to acknowledge.
"fine, itâs a deal," you murmured, a small smirk tugging at the corner of your mouth. this was going to be fun â having none other than theo nott as your personal cake delivery boy. theo almost chuckled, stopping himself just as the sound was about to leave his lips. he gave you a curt nod and turned on his heels, leaving you alone in the kitchen, his mind racing with every possible outcome of this surprise but very tempting arrangement.

hiii can you pls do seventeen x grovelling? like what lengths would seventeen do just to get you back??? đ
seventeen x groveling
warnings: none! besides it's cliche and annoying but we love
seungcheol is the type to literally beg. he will show up to you, sulking and pouting, trying to convince you to get back to him on his knees for you. he's so whiny and desesparate, tugging on your legs and shirt like a dependent kid.
jeonghan knows all your schedules by heart, would not so innocently show up at the places you've been. his heart racing when he actually sees you there, approaching the cashier to buy your favorite food and asking to land it to you with a note of apology and love to you.
joshua is the type to come with flowers and chocolates, he'd even say he's writing a song for you so he can have you back. the roses in hand and the guitar wrapped around his shoulders.
junhui is cheesy but doesn't know what to do for you... he'd actually show up with a big plushie and heart air balloons, a stuttering speech that he had prepared and rehearsed beforehand.
soonyoung is in love and will let everyone know. he's the real deal, like screaming and crying like a desesparate man, hanging on any chance or any minor space you give him for some touch.
wonwoo is also the type to send you flowers. but will just leave it at your door, with a little note of his name, saying he misses you and needs you back. he will still try to convince you on a date.
jihoon have written way too many songs about you, doesn't think it will work to have you back. expect him to write you a big handwriting letter or a cd with all the songs, also the ones you haven't heard, or actually, he'll give both to you.
seokmin emotional side really shines here, he gets a bit sensitive thinking it was all his fault. he'd flood your phone with messages like "what went wrong?" "what did i do?" "i do anything to have you back" and yes... when the courage creeps through, he will definitely call you crying.
mingyu is gaining you back by the belly, like being for real, he's cooking you everything. delivering your favorite dishes by him at your door and making cookies with cheesy quotes.
minghao would actually come to talk, praying you'd consider. to hear everything you have to say and work on being better for you. he'd reply "i do anything to earn you back" so nonchalantly like it wasn't the craziest thing you've heard.
seungkwan definitely won't stop texting you. asking if you take your vitamins/pills, if you have eaten, and for that will send you delivery of your favorite foods to your work and home; "do you want me to go pick you up from work?" as if he's trying to sugarcoat you're still together or will.
vernon doesn't fool me, this man would cry, like cry until his nose is red, begging to have you back. he'd apologize for things he didn't do and more just not to sit with conformation. hear me out when i say this... he can't live without you.
chan is texting long texts, sending flowers, shouting on your window... i mean, haven't you seen wait mv?? the real hopeless romantic, he's just so desesparate to have you back, don't want to wait and waste time, he will tell you that.

warnings: very brief allusion to drugging, heavy and frequent references to SA, violence, vague mentions of non-specific mental illness, rpf.
notes: in my head this takes place in 2021-2022 when joost had that really short, almost buzzcut like hair? like the wachtmuziek era. also, very sorry this is late!! itâs still only been half-proofread and iâm not even sure i like how i wrote the ending but here she is anyway. i love her and i hope you do too đ.

with shaking hands, you fumbled around the bathroom floor to find your phone. your chest was heaving, the cries that you struggled to keep quiet were getting all caught up in your throat as you fought meekly through the nausea. you wiped at your face again, desperate to clear your vision and leaving behind a mixture of tears, snot, and smeared mascara on the back of your hand.
the room itself was dark, barely lit up by a singular dim, yellow light, though despite the shadows you could still see how everything was spinning. you couldnât remember how many drinks youâd had â it hadnât felt like a lot, you werenât a lightweight by any means but you didnât know how else to explain the state you were in. you couldnât stand up even if you wanted to, your legs strangely numb to the touch and the pounding in your head made staying on the floor all the more appealing anyway.
face down on the grimey, tiled floor you found your phone laying just underneath the sink. you ignored the low battery warning as you swiped through your contacts, squinting through your tears at the screen as if it would actually help you see any better. you were only looking out for one name; the third out of the four that were listed under the letter âJâ, and the only name to have an emoji next to it.
over the sound of the heavy, techno bass that seemed to shake the walls and the buzz of a hundred different people all talking amongst each other, you heard the line start to dial. it didnât make sense to call him out of everyone else that could possibly help you; he was infamously known for never picking up the phone. it was ironic for someone so notoriously attached to their screens, his face typically glued to either his phone or his ipad.
but still, you hadnât so much as thought twice about it as you clicked on his contact and then the call button. With your head tilted back against the wall and your knees curled up tightly against your chest, you prayed to any god listening that by some miracle, he wouldnât be busy.
âhallo?â
you let out a whimper at the mere sound of his voice, a small, pathetic noise that quickly turned into a cry that you didnât bother to stifle. he called out your name for a second time, though now in a tone that was much softer than the one before it.
âiâm sorry, i know itâs late.â you paused to take a breath, your voice having cracked like glass as you spoke. âbut i need your help. i donâtâŚjoost, i donât know what to do.â
âitâs okay, just take a big breath for me.â for just a moment you heard shuffling around on the other end of the line. with each of his footsteps the background noise grew quieter until it disappeared completely, following the sound of a door being shut. âwhere are you?â
âiâm atâŚiâm at this house but i uh, i really donât wanna be here anymore. do you think you couldâŚcan you just come get me, please? iâm sorry.â
over the sound of a drum and bass beat that played so obnoxiously loud, you struggled to catch all the whispers from joostâs side of the phone call. there was another voice there, that much you could hear, and you struggled to place it despite how familiar it sounded. you tried to concentrate on the faint muttering, straining your ears to hear it over the song that blared just below you.
but then you jumped when the banging started. a sudden flurry of fists pounding against the wood and making the bathroom door rattle within its hinges. from the deep laughs that followed, chances were it was just a group of guys trying to be funny, probably thinking it was one of their friends getting lucky on the other side. and yet still, you found yourself gasping for breath as you choked back fresh tears, all the blood that ran through your veins turning cold.
âschatje? did you hear me?â
you could only hum back in response.
âi said i need you to send me your location, okay? and then iâll come get you, i promise.â
it was the moment you figured out how to do so that your phone finally gave up on you. after hitting send, the little map displaying your whereabouts popping up in yours and joostâs text chain, your screen began to freeze. in a moment of panic you managed to choke out that you were locked away in a bathroom before it all went black, leaving you to stare at the taunting dead battery symbol.
you werenât oblivious to the irony of it all. in a house crammed full of people, perhaps even a few too many than it was built to hold, you felt alone. just a few minutes ago that was all you wanted, to be by yourself, but now it left you with a ringing in your ears. the absence of joostâs voice was enough to throw you inside what felt like a black hole, where time seemed to slow the longer you waited for him.
you found a brief comfort in watching the time pass on the old, analog clock that hung high on the wall opposite you; you figured it was a better thing to focus on besides the sharp ache between your legs. it helped keep you distracted from the way everything just hurt now, whatever it was that was in your system already starting to wear off. without it numbing you to the pain of it all, you could feel the headache brewing behind your eyes and the sting of your split lip.
with each minute that dragged by, the slow, high-pitched tick of the clock echoing inside your ears, your mind began to slip further and further away. every time that you closed your eyes you could see it happening all over again; you could feel his hands back on you, ripping at your clothes and bruising your skin.
all the tears that you had only just managed to blink away came rushing back, continuing to decorate your face with more long, dark streaks of black. surely, this was going to be the thing to finally break you. there would never be any redemption or recovery for you â heâd get to live the rest of his life without burden whilst this was bound to be the death of you.
the more you unravelled, the more erratic your cries grew with hiccups racking your body and a deep burning in your eyes. for once you found yourself grateful for the musicâs mind-numbing volume, though somehow it still wasnât enough to mask the sound of a soft tapping against the bathroom door. like a coward you froze, failing to answer back before you heard your own name being yelled out to you, followed by a harsher knock.
âhey itâs me, itâs joost. can you open the door please?â
as you steadily climbed to your feet, using the edge of the sink to help push you up, your knees began to shake. they threatened to buckle out from under you with every step that you took, each limp towards the door sending a short stabbing pain up to your abdomen. the sensation made you wince, your jaw clenched and a grip on the door handle so strong that it turned your knuckles white.
it was almost sardonic how despite being in a house so loud, everything went quiet as soon as that door swung open. the music never stopped nor did anyone dare to change its volume, but all joost could hear was his own heartbeat thumping in his ears as his eyes met yours. all he could do was swallow, pushing down the bile that was quickly rising up his throat.
even in the low, warm light of the bathroom, he could see the streaked mascara that painted your face and the bloodied lip that was still trickling down your chin. your favourite shirt, the one that he himself had bought you, was torn and just about hanging off your shoulders. it exposed a trail of black and blue spots that started along your shoulder and went all the way down your arms, a couple even dotted down your legs.
joost uttered your name, his voice barely audible over the music downstairs. the corners of your frown twitched, your bottom lip quivering as you shook your head, already answering the question he hadnât even asked yet. from where you stood he could see you shaking, your knees weak and barely holding you up right. he didnât hesitate to pull you into him, an arm locking around your waist as his hand found the back of your head, keeping you hidden in his chest.
âjesus christ, what happened to you?â
you couldnât speak, couldnât find the right words to even try and explain what it was you had gone through. you could only weep into the fabric of joostâs jacket, so exhausted and overwhelmed that you didnât have the strength to hold yourself together in front of him. but it was more than enough of an answer for joost who just held you tighter the harder you cried, fighting back tears of his own.
pulling away as gently as he could, joost still kept you in his grasp. his hands cupped either side of your jaw, calloused thumbs wiping away stray-fallen tears as his eyes danced over your face. with a gaze so intense, you could see his eyes growing sadder the longer he looked you over in the dull light of the bathroom.
âi left stunts outside â heâs still in the car. we couldâŚwe should go to the hospital.â
âno!â your own dramatic change in tone caught even you off guard. you couldnât help it, you were panicking now, pulling joost back by his sleeve as he tried to guide you out of the bathroom. the action made you wobble and almost trip over your own feet, flinching at the sudden cramp you felt deep in your stomach. joostâs grip on you hardened, not nearly enough to hurt but enough to keep you from falling back and hitting your head on the sink. ânot tonight. please, i just wanna go home. iâll be fine.â
âyou can barely fucking stand, schatje. you need help.â
âthen i promise iâll go in the morning! but right now i just really need you to take me home, okay? iâm begging you.â
perhaps if joost had a little bit more of a backbone and wasnât so hopelessly head over fucking heels for you, he wouldâve had the courage to say no. he would have been able to look you in the eye and still say that he was going to get you to a doctor, whether you wanted to go or not. but no matter how much he wanted to, how much he hated what you were asking of him, he couldnât. feeling you trembling in his hands and hearing the fear that shook your voice meant there was longer a single thing that joost wouldnât do for you.
you were his best friend just as much as he was yours, regardless of all the very non-platonic things the two of you had done together over the years. as far as you were concerned it was just something that youâd do sometimes, only ever as friends. there were never any conversations about it the next morning, never any acknowledgment for what it was you had done the night before; it was almost like it never happened until it would undoubtedly happen again. you always liked it like that though â as long as it meant that you never had to think about how you really felt.
joost, on the other hand, was painfully aware of what he felt about your situation, about you. it was never just sex for him, not even once, and he wanted to talk about it. and he tried to, a couple of times, spending the first few mornings after trying to coax you back into bed just so he could hold you skin-to-skin for a little while longer. but you never wanted to stay and you never wanted to talk about it, either, so joost stopped. he let it become another pain he had to live with and spent each day telling himself that he was okay with that.
it was with only a slight hesitation that he nodded before standing back up straight, slipping his big black jacket off his arms and draping the material gently over your shoulders.
you let joost take on most of your weight as you leaned into his side, letting him guide you back through the house as you focused on just trying to make it down the stairs without tripping. to say that the place was packed was an understatement. people were crammed into every room like sardines, dancing and grinding against each other with stiff, swinging jaws. you hadnât even heard what it was that had been said over the music, its volume still just as loud and disorienting as it had been when you first arrived.
but joost had heard every word, somehow, despite the sound of his own song polluting the room. it made him freeze on the spot, pulling you to a stop right along with him as he slowly turned to face the group of guys that were standing just in front of the front door. you felt your throat start to close at the sight of him amongst them, standing front and centre with a sick grin plastered across his face, his eyes darting between you and joost.
âwhat did you just say?â
it might have been the gruff, nauseating voice that you recognised, or maybe it was those ring-heavy hands of his that you could still feel pressed into your skin. you didnât know, and it didnât matter, because you knew it was him.
âi said good luck with that one, dude. she doesnât go down easy; kept trying to fight me the whole time.â his stare then fell from joost onto you, his tongue gliding over his bottom lip as he looked you up and down. âbut we still had our fun though, didnât we schat?â
the crack of joostâs knuckles colliding with his jaw was something you heard before you saw it; the thud of him hitting the ground following soon after. a chorus of screams and cheers rang painfully in your ears as you watched a small circle quickly form around you. anyone that could still see straight had either ran from the fight or pushed forward to get a better view of it, their phones held high and already recording.
âbet that made you feel like a man, huh? forcing yourself on a girl half your size. you piece of fucking shit, i should fucking kill you!â
in all the years youâd known him, you had never seen joost like that before; his voice low and angry as his shouts drowned out the music. he hadnât waited for him to get back up before throwing another punch, the sharp crunch of his noise breaking making you wince and your eyes water.
you went to step forward, your hands already reaching out to grab joostâs arm when one of his friends pounced. a shriek was ripped out from you when a fist struck joost right across the cheek, knocking him into you hard enough to almost send you both tumbling to the floor. any chance for you to try and intervene again vanished when you were pushed back before you could get close enough, joost quickly shoving you behind him as he swung for the other guy.
a strong pair of arms wrapped your middle and pulled you further back as you cried for them all to stop, keeping you locked against their chest no matter how hard you thrashed. distance was put between you and the fight when you were picked up and half-dragged out the door, joostâs blond hair disappearing from sight amongst the growing crowd around him.
the bitter air of the early morning stole your breath, your chest tight and aching as the cold consumed you. small flakes of snow drifted down from the paleing sky, dusting each rooftop and the old, cracked pavements in a thin layer of white. still, there were a handful of people gathered on the houseâs front stairs, clad in various leather and latex, that only stood and watched as you were hauled away from the party.
âget the fuck off me! weâve gotta go back, we canât just leave him! stuntje, please!â
your feet only met the floor again once you were next to stuntâs car, safely across the street. even from there, you could hear the childish chanting of âfight! fight! fight!â and the occasional glass break from inside.
âmartijn -â
â- stay here; iâm gonna go get him.â
you werenât allowed to argue, so you just did what you were told. for four minutes you sat waiting in the back of the car with the heaters on full blast and still shivering as you nestled yourself deeper into joostâs jacket. after another minute you saw them heading back your way, their pace fast as they slipped past the last few people that loitered on the steps. in the glow of the streetlights you could just about make out the soft shade of purple that was joostâs eye, and the deep scowl that contorted stuntjeâs face.
neither of them spoke as they joined you in the car but for joost, you never really gave him the chance to. his seatbelt hadnât even clicked into place yet before you were turning away from him, desperate to pretend that he wasnât there burning holes into the side of your head. if joost knew that you could see him staring from the corner of your eye, he didnât care. if anything, he probably wouldâve hoped that it might have made you look back at him, because then that at least wouldâve been something.
but seeing joost storm out of that house with a violet eye and raw knuckles, having just risked everything for you without a second thought, it scared you more than you wanted to admit. he was only supposed to come find you, and bring you back home. you never wanted a fight, never wanted joost to wind up with a black eye over you. so no, you couldnât look at him â couldnât even talk to him, either.
except your silent treatment didn't last very long, did it? it couldnât, because joost wasnât going to let you get away with it this time. for as long as he had known you, you always had this habit of internalising what you felt and shutting down. it never mattered what it was you were going through, you just wouldnât talk about it.
this time though, he wasnât going to let you disappear in on yourself again, and he wasnât going to let you shut him out, either.
as soon as the car came to a stop, joost was up and already outside your car door. with a sweet smile, gentle hands were pulling you up and slowly helping you onto your feet before you had the chance to protest. there was a part of you that wanted to, now too proud to admit that you still needed his help. already, he had done more than enough, even too much, for you.
still, you didnât dare to fight it â or him, rather. besides a small goodbye to stuntje, no words were spoken as he slipped an arm under your knees and pulled you up to his chest. it was like that, that he carried you up the three flights of stairs of your building, glancing down at you every so often with soft, worried eyes. it was miraculous how he managed to open your front door with you still in his arms, his very own key to your home dangling from the clip on his jeans.
it wasnât long before the soft leather of your sofa was dipping underneath your weight, its cushion beneath you feeling cold against the bruised flesh of your thigh. joost left you for only a second, just to switch on a couple of the lamps you had dotted around and to dig out your old first aid kit from the bathroom.
you still werenât really looking at him, not even as he perched on the edge of your coffee table and carefully took your jaw in his hold. the brush of the alcohol wipes along the small cuts that marked your face stung and made you wince, your nose scrunching up at the pain. a string of quiet apologies followed as joost concentrated on cleaning you up, wiping away each and every smear of blood and smudged makeup.
the longer that you sat there whilst joost devoted all of his time and energy to you, the more teary-eyed you felt yourself becoming again. it felt almostâŚforeign to feel so loved after everything, like you were still somehow worth saving. there was no way that you could possibly deserve it â nothing you couldâve done to deserve having someone adore you so unconditionally without earning it.
and yet here he was, your joost, doing anything and everything to try and help, and you couldnât even fucking look at him.
the only thing you could do was cry. the way you clutched your mouth did little to muffle the sounds of your distress and it drew back his attention after he turned away only to throw out all of the dirty, used wipes. it was the guilt that was doing this to you, the guilt of knowing that you were the reason why joost now had a black eye. that joost had risked his whole career by starting that fight, and you had been the one to punish him for it.
a warm hand squeezed your knee as another tucked fallen strands of hair behind your ear. it took a few tries of quietly calling out your name to finally get you to meet his eyes, but eventually you got there. nothing could have prepared you for just how sick he looked, the bags under his eyes seeming considerably darker than before and a deep frown tugging at the corners of his lips.
âiâm sorry i did this. i never shouldâve gone with him, i know i shouldnât have because i know that i know better but i still went and i shouldâve done something more, i couldâve hit him harder or yelled, and iâm sorry i called you because your eye, that was me, that was my fault and iâm sorry, iâm sorry, i -â
with your face pressed flat against his chest, his sudden embrace almost swallowing you whole, you couldnât find the rest of your slurred, blubbering words. somehow, at some point, joost manoeuvred you both onto the sofa and with his arms around you, kept you curled up against his side. a few fingers moved up the back of your neck to scratch your scalp as others held onto your hip.
it was the only thing he could think to do to shut you up, to calm you down enough to take big, slow breaths, in and out.
he didnât have it in him to let you finish that sentence.
delicate reassurances were mumbled into your hair, quiet âyouâre okayââs and faint âit wasnât your faultââs becoming mantras that helped soothe the pain in your chest. you wanted to believe him and knew that you didnât. you knew that as the deep baritone of his whispers slowly lulled you to sleep, youâd wake up with that pain still very much there.
but joost wasnât going to stop trying anytime soon, noor was he going anywhere. it was one of the few things youâd actually let him do for you, making himself a home on your sofa whenever you would have one of your episodes. heâd sleep there, eat there, work there. sometimes joost would spend entire weeks of his life in your living room just so that he could know for sure you were still alive and breathing.
he was the only thing offering you the slightest bit of comfort. you could feel his fingers running through your hair as you curled up even further into his side, his voice still low in your ear. it was becoming to struggle just to keep your eyes open, but you knew that he wouldnât mind.
you could fall asleep just to wake up with that same ache in your heart still there, but joost would still be there too. for now, that was all you needed.

billy x reader - time traveler billy
Everything happens so quickly that you donât have time â at first â to realize how odd the situation is. The manâs clothes make him look like a refugee from a Western, and everything about him, from the curl of his hair to the way he stands marks him out as someoneâŚdifferent, somehow. Not to mention, of course, that heâs standing in the middle of the street, looking about as out of place and freaked out as a squirrel dropped into the middle of the ocean.Â
But even if you could put your finger on it, you donât have the time to consider what makes him so strange.Â
First, youâll have to get him out of the path of the oncoming car.Â
You have, in point of fact, never actually tackled someone before, let alone someone who seems to be quite a bit taller than you and undoubtedly heavier. But you take your best shot, leaning in and diving at his waist, hoping to make him fold like a lawn chair. Maybe itâs just the shock, or maybe you actually find the right angle â you have no idea, but it doesnât really matter. You manage to knock the guy sideways, both of you stumbling toward the safety of the sidewalk as the car screeches past, the driver laying on his horn.Â
You watch as the guy flinches at the noise, actually clapping his hands over his ears as he squeezes his eyes shut, like heâs praying with all his might that the noise will just stop. Fortunately for him, the car turns the corner up ahead, and the sound of the horn fades as it goes. You watch it go, wondering absently how long Speed Racer is going to keep honking, and then you look back at the guy whose life youâve saved.
âAre you okay?â Itâs probably a stupid question, considering what little information you already have, but you donât know what else to say. The guy lowers his hands and squints at you, staring as if youâre the one dressed like an extra from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. âHey â are you alright?â
He shakes his head, more like heâs trying to chase away a bothersome gnat than answering you.Â
Youâre starting to worry that heâs hit his head, although you canât see a cut or a bruise on his temple. Now that youâre looking at him properly, itâs really rather difficult to keep from noticing howâŚwell, how hot he is. Itâs probably â definitely â inappropriate to even think about it, youâre well aware, considering heâs either injured, intoxicated in some way, or just going through it, but you canât ignore the fact now that itâs quite literally staring you in the face.Â
His eyes are large and blue, framed by thick, dark lashes as long as your pinky finger, set above a strong, straight nose that reminds you of a Greek statue, as perfectly sculpted as if itâs been made from marble. His lips are astonishingly full, his jawline and cheekbones each as defined as the dictionary, and you think there just might be the shadow of a dimple in his chin. And heâs tall, too, topping you by nearly a foot, his broad shoulders tapering to an angular waist. You realize, belatedly, that youâre staring, but then again, so is he.
âAre you okay?â you say again. âIs there something I can do for you? Someone I can call?â
He swallows, giving another shake of his head. âI donâtâŚI dunno where I am.âÂ
Itâs the first time youâve heard him speak, and his voice brings to mind sage brush and sunsets, the smoke that swirls over a campfire as it crackles with life, warm and husky, with a twang that makes you think of the bite of whiskey.Â
âOkay,â you say, and without thinking about it, you take his hand. It feels natural, like trying to guide a lost child, or trying to make sure you donât lose him in a crowd. As soon as his palm touches yours, you feel a shock race up your arm, and you have the strangest sensation of a door closing, separating one moment from the next as definitively as an axe splitting wood.Â
His fingers curl around yours, his expression almost pleading.Â
âOkay,â you repeat. âOkay. JustâŚcome with me. Iâll help you.â
You can tell, if not just by the expression on his face â half-hopeful, half-bracing, as if heâs expecting a blow to fall any second â that heâs not used to asking for help, especially not from strangers. It makes your heart hurt just a little bit. You give his hand a gentle squeeze, and youâre softened â or maybe melted â by the way he smiles at you, shy but appearing more heartened than he did just a moment ago.
Then another car whizzes by, and he winces like someone has taken a shot at him. He ducks down, his eyes so wide that they look like a pair of full moons, their cornflower centers the only source of color in his face. âThe hell is that?â
You stare at him. If he didnât look so terrified, youâd think he was joking. But if heâs not joking, then heâs either on an incredible cocktail of drugs, or heâs from that weird isolated cult town in The Village. âItâsâŚitâs a car,â you say.Â
âA car,â he repeats, as if youâve just told him the secret to life in Mandarin.Â
âYeah,â you say. âYou knowâŚa horseless carriage.âÂ
For some reason, this seems to impart some understanding to him, but you can tell heâs still plenty freaked out. âCarriages donât go that fuckinâ fast!â
You try very, very hard not to laugh, but god, itâs hard. Youâre having to draw on nearly every ounce of compassion you have. It helps that, really, heâs not wrong. Not that youâve ever ridden in a carriage, because youâre not Keira Knightley in a period film, but you donât think theyâre capable of speeds like that.Â
âIf it makes you feel any better,â you say, âyou donât have to worry about getting into a horseless carriage with me. I hate driving.âÂ
Now that itâs just the two of you standing on the sidewalk again, the road mercifully free of cars, he seems to relax a little, at least enough to consider your words. âWell,â he says. âThatâs something.âÂ
Not entirely sure where to go, you decide the police station is as good a place as any. It might be a little Hallmark movie of the week, but maybe someone has already filed a missing persons report on him. With that thought, it occurs to you that you need some information first.Â
âDo you remember your name?â you ask.
The look he gives you indicates he has never been quite so offended in his life. You canât help but laugh this time. âWell, I donât know!â you say. âYou donât know where you are, youâre walking around here looking like a puppy at the start of an ASPCA ad â maybe youâre suffering from some kind of amnesia.â
He doesnât look any less nonplussed, but something about your laughter has loosened the muscles in his face. He smiles at you. You try to ignore the way your stomach flips to focus on his answer. âBilly,â he says.Â
You fight the urge to repeat his name, rolling it around in your mouth like candy. âCome on,â you say, his hand still in yours. âWeâre not gonna get anywhere just standing here. Do you trust me?â
He smiles again, though this time with a bit of a razorâs edge to it. âNot like I got much choice, honey,â he says, and then pauses, softens. âYeah. Youâve been nicer to me than most people wouldâve, findinâ a stranger in the middle of nowhere, actinâ like heâs been dropped on his head. I wouldnât have blamed ya if youâd run the other direction.â
You have no idea why, but what springs from your mouth before you can help yourself is: âI couldnât do that to you.â
He studies you for a minute. His gaze feels as physical as a caress, and just as intimate. If not more so. You both do and donât want it to stop.Â
âCome on,â you say again, at least in part to break the silence. âFollow me.â
The two of you start walking, following the weathered gray slabs of cracked, uneven concrete that your small town calls a sidewalk as it winds its way into town.Â
After a few moments of quiet, he says, âYou never told me your name.âÂ
When you introduce yourself, he smiles again. âThatâs nice,â he says. âPretty.â
Your stomach flips again, and you have to remind yourself that you donât know anything about this guy, except â only just now â his name. The fact that heâs tall, gorgeous, and really does give off a hurt puppy sort of vibe doesnât matter. And it definitely doesnât matter that his smile spreads across his face like a sunrise coloring the sky with ribbons of pastels. He could be a serial killer, or if not that extreme, some kind of âÂ
The two of you are still, for reasons not entirely clear to you and probably not much clearer to him, holding hands, so youâre jerked out of your thoughts by the fact that heâs gone stock still.Â
âYouâre takinâ me to the sheriff?â
If the dread clinging to his voice like a weed choking out a weaker plant wasnât bad enough, heâs frozen still on the sidewalk, looking at you as if youâveâŚwell, as if youâve betrayed him somehow. The pit of your stomach turns to ice.
âThe sheriff?â you repeat. You feel oddly, stupidly, disappointed. A guy with nothing to hide doesnât act like this when someone brings him to the authorities. The disillusionment washing over you makes your tongue sharp. âWho the hell are you, Barney Fife?â
He frowns. âI told you my name.â
âYeah, I â never mind.â You shake your head and let go of his hand. The bare skin of your palm feels oddly cold. âWhatâs the matter? I thought someone might be looking for you. Maybe someone filed a missing persons report.â
âI donât think so, darlinâ.â He glances at the police station again, his throat bobbing. A pause, and then, softly, like heâs making a confession: âNobody left that cares about me that much. Unless they wanna cause me some hurt.â
You feel the strangest mixture of sympathetic and prickly, as if youâve been caught doing something wrong by someone who has been directly and seriously hurt by your actions. âWellâŚâ You clear your throat, trying to find the right words to defend yourself. âI mean, listen, what kind of hurt? Are you a criminal or something?â
One corner of his mouth tilts up in a bitter approximation of a grin. âOr somethinâ, honey,â he says. âI got a reputation I never wanted and that Iâm not proud of, anâ not one person reads about me in the paper or sees my name on a wanted posterââ
Wanted poster? But something about his fierce, stung expression keeps your mouth shut.
â â ever gave a damn about the truth. About why I did all that stuff. I didnât want to!â When his voice rises, equal parts angry and hurt, you canât help yourself. You reach for his hand again. He takes a deep breath, his fingers grasping yours. âI didnât want to do any of it. I just wantedâŚI wanted things to get better. Every time I thought they would, they just got worse.â
You know it would make sense to ask what he actually did, but somehow, you canât bring yourself to put the words out there. He looks ashamed and angry, but defiant, too, as if daring you to do it. Or, worse, to pass judgement. But you just press your lips together.Â
âI wanted to go straight,â he says. âI wanted a good job for a respectable boss, so I could keep a roof over my head and food in my belly. Damn it, I just wanted some peaceââ
When his voice breaks, you feel it in your chest, as if a fissure has opened up in your collarbone. Your own eyes burn, a reaction as instantaneous and out of your control as a burning red welt raising up around a beeâs stinger. It hurts you, to see him hurt, and you canât even begin to explain to yourself why that is.Â
âWell, IâŚIâŚâ You fumble your words, not even sure what youâre going to say. But you know you have to say something. âIâŚokay, so, weâllâŚweâll go somewhere else. Weâll figure it out.â
He looks about as shocked to hear you say that as he was by the car burning rubber on the road leading into town. âYou mean it?â
You swallow down the stupid feeling that youâre going to cry, and you nod. âYeah, come on,â you say, and you hold out your hand again. He takes it. âWeâll go back to my place.â
He offers you another crooked smile, but this one is more surprised, almost tender, like youâve shown him something sweet and unexpected hidden in the palm of your hand. âYou sure about that, sweetheart?â he says. âYou donât know me all that well. Iâd understand if you didnât want a strange man in your home.â
Forget not knowing him that well, you donât really know him at all, but you just tell him, âIâm sure.â
Because you are. In what seems to be the theme of the day, you canât explain why, but it just feelsâŚsafe. Despite the little Dateline-themed voice in your head telling you otherwise, you canât ignore the certainty, heavy and inexplicable, that youâve been here before. Heâll step into your apartment and feel at ease, because this isnât the first time heâs been your home. It will fit like an old coat, comfortable and soft and easy.Â
Itâs insane, but you canât turn your thoughts away from it.Â
His fingers lace with yours, and he rubs his thumb over your knuckle. The way heâs looking at you, so intently, his gaze never wavering from yours, makes you feel as though youâre being turned inside out, exposed. The moment when he froze with fear as the two of you approached the police â sheriff â station seems distant in both time and space, like youâve gone forward many miles and many years in time in the space of just a few minutes.
âNo cars, right?â he says, his crooked smile widening. The word cars sits in his mouth like he isnât quite used to the shape of it, but youâre so charmed by the fact that heâs trying to make a joke. That the two of you have a joke to share.Â
âNo cars,â you say.
Youâre walking again. Now and again you pass other people, who look at Billy the way you must have looked at him when you first saw him â eyebrows furrowed, pushing down over their eyes, glance flicking over him as if a quick look will make any more sense than a lingering one. Billy doesnât seem to notice, or if he does, he doesnât seem to care. Heâs too busy looking around at everything else; it all seems to shock him to varying degrees, whether itâs the buildings around you, the streetlights and the power lines silhouetted against the sky, the concrete beneath your feet and the asphalt of the road running beside you.Â
As another car zooms by, Billy lets go of your hand, dosey-doâs behind you, and takes your other hand. Now heâs standing between you and the road. âI donât like those things,â he mutters, more to himself than to you. âBut I like you near âem even less.âÂ
Your apartment building is a brick rectangle studded with windows, a pair of double doors set in the middle at the top of a wide set of concrete steps. You lead Billy inside and he stops as you reach for the elevator button.Â
âWhat the hell?â he says, again speaking under his breath.
You push the button, watching Billyâs face as the call button lights up. He flinches at the ding, looking around for the source of the noise; you squeeze his hand gently. You wonder again where the hell he came from, that every piece of modern technology seems to make as little sense to him as ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. âItâs okay,â you say. âJust trust me.âÂ
Implicit in your voice is this: I wonât let anything happen to you.
He seems to hear your silent promise, or maybe the words you actually say are enough. Billy smiles thinly and nods.
When the doors slide open, though, he balks. âAre we supposed to go in there?â
âYes. Itâll take us up to the floor my apartment is on, without us having to go up all those stairs.â
He swallows. âOkay.â
You step into the elevator and he trails after you with the air of a child who is expecting a switching out back. When the elevator starts to rise upward, Billy stares at you incredulously. âItâs okay,â you say again. âIt wonât take long, I promise.â
He has a white-knuckle grip on your hand, and he jumps a little at the ding from somewhere above your heads as the elevator comes to a stop. When the doors slide open, he relaxes a little. âThatâs all?â
âThatâs all,â you confirm, and you lead him down the hallway. He waits while you fish your keys out and let yourselves inside your apartment.
As soon as the door closes behind you, Billyâs shoulders soften. You watch him as he looks around, feeling oddly nervous. As if it matters whether or not he likes your place.
Your building is old â you think from the 1920s or thereabouts, if you remember what your landlord said when she showed you the place five years ago â and it shows in the way it looks. Wooden parquet floors the color of honey are softened by rugs that you found at a flea market, a brown velvet couch slouching in front of a square, red-brick fireplace, framed by a mantle scattered with knickknacks. Billy smiles as he wanders over, picking up a little statuette shaped like a cat, wearing a collar of flat chips of glass.
âCute,â he says, offering you another smile, and you feel inordinately pleased.Â
His gaze roams around the living room. To his left, a doorway hung with a beaded curtain leads into the kitchen, and in front of him, a hallway runs to the back of the apartment, with your bedroom on one side and a bathroom on the other. His gaze turns back to the mantle, lifting to the wall above it, where a flatscreen TV is fixed.
âWhat is that?â he says, leaning forward to inspect this dim reflection in the screen. âA mirror?â
Despite yourself, a snort works its way out of your mouth, and he shoots you a wounded look. âSorry,â you say, putting your hand over your mouth. âSorry. No, itâs my TV.â
You have another, smaller one in your room, but you decide one television might be enough for him to deal with right now.
âA â a TâŚV?â he says, repeating the two letters distinctly, as if they have nothing to do with each other. âWhatâs that?â
Your lips part, and you stare at him for a second. âBilly,â you say. âWhere are you from?â
His brow furrows, like he doesnât quite understand what youâre asking. âWell,â he says slowly. âMost recently Iâve been livinâ in New Mexico. Why?â
New Mexico. That really doesnât answer your question. âWhere in New Mexico?â
His puzzled frown deepens, but he doesnât ask why youâre pressing him. Maybe he figures you deserve to know, after saving his life and bringing him back to your apartment. âLincoln, right now,â he says.
You donât know much about Lincoln â or New Mexico, for that matter â but you donât think itâs some reclusive community where they wouldnât know about elevators or cars.Â
The next question you have is crazy, totally insane, really â but you think youâve seen doctors on TV ask concussion victims the same thing. And thatâs definitely all it is. Because thereâs no way this could actually be the problem.Â
âBilly,â you say again. âWhat year is it?â
Now itâs his turn to huff out a laugh through his nose. âWhat year is it? Itâs 1881.âÂ
Youâre so floored by this statement that you blurt out, without much â or any â tact: âNo, itâs not.â
He looks like heâs on the verge of arguing with you, but maybe everything hits him all at once. The cars, the technology he doesnât understand, the very world around him that looks so different from what heâs used to. âWhatâŚwhat year is it, then?â
You blink. â2024,â you say.Â
This time, when he laughs, thereâs no humor in it, only a sharp incredulity. âYouâre crazy,â he says, but without much heat. Itâs almost like a plea, as though heâs offering you the opportunity to take it back. To say something that actually makes sense, because â and you have to give it to him, heâs not wrong â this doesnât make sense at all.
And yet, unless heâs been severely brainwashes or heâs just putting you on, itâs also the only option.
âHow did I get here?â he says, and he sounds â and looks â like he might cry again. âWhat do I do now?â
âI donât know,â you say. Then you reach for him, and even before your hands find his face, heâs moving closer to you. He holds onto your waist, like youâre a lifeline. âI donât know. I donât know how you got here, or why, but youâre not alone, okay? You have me.â
It doesnât even register with you at first that this is an incredibly strange, if not downright dangerous, thing to say to someone you met not even two hours ago. Especially considering youâre saying it to a man who is bigger and undoubtedly stronger than you. But you donât feel like youâre putting yourself at risk.Â
Billy, though, says what youâre thinking, except he says it with a sense of wonder. It almost sounds like a prayer. âI donât even know you,â he murmurs.
Yes, you do.
The thought seems to come from outside of you, as if someone has turned to a fresh page in your mind and written it there in their own hand.Â
Billy says your name, still in that awestruck voice. It feels as though there is a web spun between you, gossamer-fine but indissoluble. The fact that he could be an honest-to-god time traveler makes more sense to you than the idea that you only met him today.Â
â1881,â you repeat, and he chuckles.
â2024,â he returns.Â
âHow old are you?âÂ
âTwenty-two.â
âOh,â you say, relieved. Although technically if heâs twenty-two and from the year 1881, that means heâs around 165 years old, but whoâs counting? âMe too.â
He smiles, an uptick of the corner of his mouth that nonetheless makes your heart skip in your chest. You decide that you want his hands on you, always, his gaze on you, always, but then you remember something else you have to show him.Â
âCome here,â you say, taking his hand again. You lead him down the hallway to the bathroom, the sight of which earns you another look at his stunned, disbelieving face. âOkay. This is my bathroom.â You point. âThatâs a toilet.â You try to remember when toilets were invented. âItâs likeâŚan outhouse. But inside.âÂ
Billy snorts. âI know what a toilet is.â
You hum. Thereâs that, at least. âThis is definitely new,â you say, and you point to the shower. He nods. You have one of those with a glass door, which you â a little embarrassingly, now â have declared with decals of cartoon sea creatures, including a whale, a puffer fish, and a little scuba diver. âRight. This a shower.â
You push the door open, reaching inside and turning the knob so the water comes pouring out. Billy jumps at the sudden noise and stares as steam fill the room. âItâs hot?â he says uncertainly.
âIt can be,â you say. âIf you twist this knob here, it can get cooler, though. But it wonât hurt you.â
âWhat do you do?â he says, peering at the shower. âItâs for bathinâ?â
You nod. âYou justâŚâ You blush and gesture vaguely at his clothes, before gesturing equally vaguely to the floor. âAnd step in. Thereâs soap and shampoo for your hair.â
He smiles crookedly. âAre you tryinâ to tell me I donât smell like roses, honey?â
You laugh a little. âI mean, wellâŚâ
He grins again before looking resolutely at the shower. âOkay,â he says. âIâll try.â
You give him privacy, shutting the door behind you, though you hover nervously in the hallway in case he needs you. Youâre worried about him slipping and falling, so you have to resist the temptation to press your ear against the door. Finally, you hear the water shut off â youâre proud of him for figuring out how to do that, without dousing himself in ice water or boiling himself alive â and you realize, just then, that you have to get him fresh clothes.
âHold on!â you call through the door.
You hurry into your room and find an old college t-shirt that you âborrowedâ from your dad, along with a pair of pajama bottoms that are advertised as unisex but absolutely swim on you at the cuffs, so you hope theyâre long enough for him. You knock on the bathroom door, and when it opens a crack, you hold out the clothes while carefully turning your head away. âHere,â you say. âThese should fit.â
âThank you,â he says, voice muffled by the door, and then he takes the clothes and the door shuts again.Â
You perch on the couch in the living room, waiting for him. The bathroom door opens fully, releasing a cloud of fragrant steam, and you smile encouragingly as you see Billy standing in the doorway. The pants do indeed fit, although the t-shirt hangs on him a little.Â
âWhat did you think?â you ask. âOf your first shower experience?â
Billy chuckles, coming to sit next to you on the couch. Youâre so aware of his proximity that it makes the air between you sing. Thereâs something about the sight of him, freshly showered and smiling, seemingly more relaxed now, that makes you want to lean into him.Â
âIt was nice,â he says. âWarm.âÂ
Youâve lost count of how many times today that itâs happened, but once again, he takes your hand.Â
âThank you for takinâ care of me,â he says softly. âYouâre a sweet girl. Iâm glad I met you.â
Coming from anyone else, being called a sweet girl would make you feel like a toy poodle. But coming from Billy, in his warm, molasses-slow drawl, it just makes you feel warm, like youâre bathing in sunshine.Â
âIâm glad, too,â you murmur.
It would be crazy to kiss him right now, right? You know the answer is yes. You know that. Still, ever since the moment his voice broke outside the police station, youâve feltâŚprotective over him. More than that, youâve felt connected. Itâs as if seeing him break down, even if it was only for a moment, in turn broke down something between the two of you.Â
You remember that sensation when you first took his hand, as if a door had slammed solidly shut between this moment and the rest of your life, and you think maybe there wasnât so much of a barrier up in the first place.
Billy touches your cheek with the very pads of his fingertips, as if heâs afraid that youâre a bubble that will burst from rough contact. âWhat the hell?â he says softly, and you laugh, because you know itâs not really a question youâre supposed to answer. âWe just met today?â
You nod.
âAnd some way or another, Iâve traveledâŚâ A pause while he does the math. â140-odd years in the future?â
You nod again.Â
âAlright, then,â he says mildly, and he kisses you.
It feels like the world turns inside out from a point centered around the two of you, spiraling and twisting outward until it forms again, entirely new, bigger and grander, humming and buzzing like a live-wire. Your hands grasping his shoulders feel like the only reason you arenât just floating away, and the way he grips your waist makes you think he feels the same. You press closer to him, his arms encircling you as he pulls you onto his lap.
A hoarse chuckle comes from somewhere around the fireplace. âYou kids usually take longer than this.â
You jump out of your skin, and before you can blink, you find yourself sprawled on the couch cushions, Billy on his feet in front of you. One hand goes to his belt only to grasp at the air. He scowls and brandishes his fists instead, and thenâ
âOld Moss?â
You sit up. âYou know this guy?â
An old man has his elbow propped on the mantelpiece, a tattered hat perched on his head. Heâs shorter than Billy, stockier, but their clothes are much the same, along with the weathered tan on their faces. The old man, though, has a beard covering the lower half of his face, spilling over his chest like dirty cotton.Â
âIâŚâ Billy shakes his head, seemingly just as flummoxed â if not more â than he was before. âI knew him when I was a kid. He helped my family cross the country.â
The old man â Old Moss â chuckles. âIâm not Old Moss, son,â he says. âI took on this form to make you more comfortable. Otherwise you would have tried to wallop me, I bet, and that wouldnât have been good for you.â
Billy stiffens, and he puts one arm behind him, to keep you behind him on the couch. âWho the hell are you, then?â
Old Moss (you donât know what else to call him) shrugs. âA representative of the universe,â he says, waving his hand to underscore this grand sentiment. âMy speciality is helpinâ lovers find each other in every lifetime.âÂ
A shiver dances down your spine. âEvery lifetime?â you murmur.
âOh, sure,â Old Moss says. âYou two have found each other in every life since your souls first came into being.â He smiles crookedly. âThanks to me. Youâre welcome.â
Another grin creases his face. âThis time, I thought Iâd try things a little bit differently,â he says, shrugging. âIâve never pulled one soul from a different point in time before. I wasnât sure if it would work, to be honest with you.â
He grins again. âJudginâ by the way you were treatinâ her face like an ice cream cone, though, Iâm guessing it did.â
Despite yourself, you giggle.Â
Out of the corner of his mouth, slanting a glance at you, Billy murmurs, âWhatâs aâ?â
âIâll get you one later. Youâll like it,â you assure him, and now you do stand next to him, patting him gently on the shoulder. âDonât worry, though, you kiss better than that.â
Old Moss chuckles. âYou guys got any questions before I go?â
You think for a second. âHow many lives has it been?â
âMmmâŚâ The old man tugs on his beard thoughtfully. âIâd say this is yourâŚI dunno, I lost track. Somewhere around 200, I think, maybe a little north of that.â
Your hand creeps into Billyâs, and he squeezes gently.
âAnd we loved each other in all of them?â you say.
Old Mossâs expression is almost unbearably kind. He nods. âAll of them,â he says.
Billyâs shoulder presses against yours, and you feel the contact from the top of your head to the soles of your feet. Somehow, over 200 lifetimes of loving him doesnât seem like a surprise.Â
âAnâ IâŚI get to stay here with her?â Billy says now. âI donât gotta go back there?â
Buried in the snowy tangles of his beard, Old Mossâs mouth twitches. You canât tell if itâs a smile, or if heâs trying to swallow tears. âYeah, son,â he says. âYou get to stay.â
Billyâs hand tightens around yours, as if heâs worried â despite Old Mossâs confirmation â that someone is going to take him away from you. You grip his hand tighter in turn. Like youâre going to let that happen.
You look over at Billy, and he turns his head to meet your gaze. You can see every one of those lifetimes in his eyes, caught in his gaze like snowflakes on his lashes, and you hope thereâs going hundreds more, going on until the world itself ends. Nothing else will be enough.Â
By the time you can turn your eyes away from him, Old Moss is gone. You look over at Billy again, and he grins at you. âI guess representatives of the universe favor Irish goodbyes.â
You grin back at him, winding your arms around his neck. âIt seems like Iâm stuck with you now,â you say, and he chuckles.Â
âSeems so.â
He leans down to kiss you. The world turns inside out and spirals again â and again â and again â andâŚby the time itâs settled again, and Billy breaks the kiss, you think that youâd be happy if you spent this lifetime and each one to come just doing this.
âSoâŚâ Billy smiles crookedly. âAbout that ice cream cone?â
You laugh. Thereâs a thousand things to set him up with â how the hell does somebody get a Social Security number at twenty-something years old? â but you can figure that out later.
For now âÂ
âLetâs take you to get one,â you say. âAnd Iâll introduce you to the unbeatable combination of gummy bears and ice cream.â
âWhat areâ?â
You laugh, taking his hand and rising onto your toes to peck his cheek. âJust trust me. Youâll love it.âÂ

The Healer
masterlist
viktor x anhedonic!reader [1.4k][AO3]
cw: implied/referenced depression, suicide, suicidal ideation, self harm
summary: Anhedonia set in and the idea of exiting life's stage became all the more appealing. But you've heard about The Healer and perhaps he can save you.
tags: gn reader, S2 Viktor, post-Act 1, anhedonia, angst, depression, suicide, SI, SH, viktor gardening?, reader's just admiring him atp, not betad, not encouraging anybody to join any cult
a/n: idk if vik's abilities extends to making plants appear but for this pretend it does
if you're unfamiliar with what anhedonia is, it's a symptom of a larger condition (can be depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, more), characterised by the inability to experience physical and/or social pleasure. makes existing difficult, like you're dragging so much pointless weight and everything feels high effort, so what's the point.
just a brief description (based on what i've learnt from it in research and experience), so i encourage learning more to get it more in depth if it interests you or sounds too familiar.
You prayed for an easy coax out of the darkness.
The little home of scrap fabric and heartbroken brick you built throughout the years was becoming more and more dilapidated, though its original state had never been of full health to begin with. And like it, your bodyâs ridges became prominent, visited by unexplained bruises, warmed by the thickened hair on your skin, and yet living on had always been the only option you sawâno, the only option you allowed.
Youâd breathed long enough to outlive many of those around you. Whether it was becoming grey-lunged corpses, enforcer punching bags, or a Promenade diver, everybody knew somebody who, sooner rather than later, knelt to kiss Deathâs feet. Surrendered. Be it by their own or anotherâs will.
Then it fell upon you: the swole blanket of indifference, of apathy. It cloaked your mind, buried your defences that was defiance, which had been the only source of survival youâd had left. But snuffed out now.
And how easy it is to think of self-inflicted inexistence when it seems nothing else matters.
Oblivion would whisper in the corner, a demented, deformed dog snarling yet begging your handâs comfort. Come to me. And you canât find good reason as to why you shouldnât.
This⌠healerâa man whose touch could gild any manâs sick and bestow him a new life, a new body, a new mindâyouâre not sure when he arrived. But the whispers morphed to murmurs which morphed to rumours and unfolded itself into your side of the cityâs underbelly.
Was he the answer to your prayer?
You made journey to the place youâd heard heâd made camp, and it unfurled before you and stole all expectation and put them to rest. Because for once, the Sumps had colour, had life.
At the centre stood a strange, globular⌠building? Just like stained glass, its surface was of mute Spring colours, translucent, swirling lattice-work reminiscent of butterfly wing patterns.
Heâs a tall thing. A beautiful thing. His metal body cloaked, careful, and coded with grace. Each movement was deliberate, no gaze shared unintentional. How had he come to exist? How had this world birthed your peopleâs suffering but, as well, him?
You want to laugh at the sick irony. Whoeverâs dealing the cards need their hands cut off.
âWhat ails you?â he asks, giving you such soft regarding you canât help but be rendered speechless.
In truth, youâre not sure. Physically, you know youâre lacking, but so was everyone so why are you different? In your head there sits a temptress, attempting to lure you to the edge of buildings or blades, but she had no name. No one speaks of her.
The healer tilts his head, seeming to take a better look at you. He looks so kind. Such eyes, opalescent, have seen suffering, and you know it.
âLife,â you give a one-shouldered shrug, smiling. âI⌠Iâm not actually⌠uh, I donât know what Iâm doing here,â you take a step back.
What had been the point of this? Attempt what? Healing? Whatâs this man to do?
âNo,â he steps closer, his voice swathed in a strange mechanical whir. âStay,â
Youâre sure that by the furrowed desperation on you, it convinces something inside him, as he turns and beckons you with a nudge of his head. So you follow.
Each step he makes creates a heavy thunk beneath him, and though you donât feel its impact, merely by sound you feel the weight of him. How had he acquired such a body? Modded fingers, let alone limbs, cost years of your wagesâyou canât imagine how much his entire body might have cost.
âI can feel something plaguing you,â he begins, shifting slightly to catch a look of you.
You scoff but it doesnât quite match your face.
âThen what brought you to me?â he shrugs and looks away, leading you to the side of the Sumps where a clear plain rolled out.
You watch as he kneels and reaches for the soil, taking it between metal fingers.
âIâm not sure,â you kneel beside him, shoulders bunching up. âWhat are you doing?â
He hums, smoothing the ground and creating indents, âIâm assessing,â
You lean forward, folding your arms and hanging your head to look at him.
The metal frames his face, just barely hidden by chestnut waves, curling beneath the jaw and around the ear.
Heâs got a rather angular beauty to him, something belonging to scrutiny and studiosity. Even his strong brows follow theme, arched forward in a focused furrow, over narrowed eyes homing iridescent irises. Youâre not sure if heâs from this world. Or if the world was gifted him.
Your attention trails back to his hand, and he digs his fingers beneath the soil. Then, hand glowing beneath the metallic muscles, the ground is imbued with a light, where then verdant stems spring alive.
You choke back a gasp, glancing about as the spindly bodies uncurl and reveal yellow petals. Roses?
Whipping back to him, you take note of the glow leaving his eyes, shock threading through your system.
When you glance back at the flowers, now surrounding the both of you, you canât help but think: logically, how you might have reacted would be with pleasant surprise, glee, even.
Such occurrences, the arcane or a mere flower field, was a coveted sight, and without a doubt you would have felt the surge of optimism. But instead nothing happens. Instead itâs unmet anticipation and expectation sitting at your belly, pooling into grey disappointment.
Itâs when you look back to the healer that you realise this disappointment must have shown on your face. He inclines his head so slightly, blinks, as if saying I understand. And he smiles. He smiles and itâs the gentlest thing ever given to you to hold and witness.
You want to crumple, to lay graves for your limbs and disassemble each part that ever dared to exist only to suffer. There used to be anger, and at the very least there was indignation. At topside for their neglect, your parents or finding each other, for finding something beyond the misery and creating you. Where had all such righteous resentment gone?
âViktor,â
You look up to see the healerâs hand stretched out, asking for yours in return. And you oblige, shaking it gently, before pulling away only to be held with soft restraint.
âYou are welcome to stay,â his voice becomes tender, becomes more human almost, aimed purely for your audience. âEven if what torments is not outright seen. I welcome all,â
Your breath comes out long, carrying with it the tired days in the dark. The healer⌠Viktor makes no acknowledgement of this but just another observant blink, the corners of his mouth slightly tightening.
âWasnât gonna die or anything,â you joke, flattening your lips and hoping it registers as a smile, however trying it may appear.
âEh,â Viktor shrugs, turning his attention to your hand and turning it about as if trying to see new angles. âA slow death is still a death,â
This makes you frown. Why has he assumed? But why is he right?
âThe slower it is, the more painful, I think,â he remarks, but he seems almost far away. âAs you watch what is left of you wither, and all you can do is⌠hm, watch,â
Then you understand. Something in your chest tightens as you take in once again all this stranger is. âYouâre well-acquainted,â you note, coming out barely as breath and observation, spoken clearer by the narrowing of your eyes than your own voice.
He looks at you again, and somethingâs changed. His eyes? It seems. Thereâs something more amber about them, more grounded in this singular hue. âMy longest companion,â
You hum, nodding.
Thereâs a safety in knowing youâre understood, even if theyâre not able to fix you. It cloaks you warmer than summer, than any consolation offered in pityâhe understands. And perhaps not the very same that brandishes you, but in some aspect he knows.
Which is what makes you ask, âCan you fix me?â
His eyes resume that pearl sheen once again and youâre mesmerised, gaze flitting between each eye in deep investigationâtell me who you are, how you are; tell me how youâll fix me. Like the field around, the sweet sunshine hues of the roses, to make your land more than just barren.
And he does. He raises his other hand, uncurling, coming to hover by your face. âMay I?â
You breath sweeps back in and you nod, leaning forward and connecting his cold fingers to your cheek.
He notes you for a moment, saying nothing, doing nothing. Itâs his gaze that makes you feel naked, removed of any pretence crafted carefully. But he shifts his attention and his fingers connected with your forehead, eyes overtaken by a white glow.
Your vision drowns in the white.
a/n anhedonia's been hitting me and this is the only thing i could muster to make so here we gooo. not my favourite, feel like i could've done it better but oh well, least i made something wahooyaaa writing is coping after all đŤľđźđđŁď¸

Percy Soulmate Comments
All right, here are all the comments from the Percy Soulmate help post found here. Too many to do the normal screencap thing. Hopefully this will help for all those seeking to become Percy's soulmate (or declare they are) at first sight!
Thanks to everyone who commented.
unhell-of-the-unwise
You must be more than a cuckoo, you also need other required stats, such as pure (atleast 3), will (atleast 7), and as far as I recall, you must have 100% Sweet either on the personality you showcase outside or the one you hide.
unhell-of-the-unwise
-The pure stat can be gained by choosing âinnocentâ actions, if Iâm right. Options can be when having a crush (obvious or hidden) on Adrian and choosing the song options in the Apocalypse topic when you talk with him during club time. One song option will have romantic lyrics, you must choose the innocent option to gain purity. Another option can be when asking Merlin in the latest update if they need to feed during the drive at the abandoned warehouse. Avoid potty mouthed responses and lustful choices, or the Lust sin. -Will is mostly options that oppose Denial, such as âIâve always wanted to go on a apocalyptic trip!â, it also helps that some of these options also raise cuckoo levels. -The Sweet stat is easier to mesure, given that itâs visible. Obviously, choose positive responses so that itâs 100%, or if you fail to do so, choose 100% Sweet as your hidden persona.
Basically, the PC must be some sort of modern Percival. Forgot to mention, but you also must not be corrupted/possessed, the whole âpureâ thing, you know.
unhell-of-the-unwise
Oh, and donât be a coward, itâs tied to Will options so I wonât further elaborate.
unhell-of-the-unwise
According to the code, there is a hero stat, so I suppose picking the most..positive option when having the react to your backstory helps.
unhell-of-the-unwise
I bid thee farewell as I cease my mindless rambling.
unbiquitousloser
@unhell-of-the-unwise Some corrections as I've 'ctrl+f'd through the code and you're mostly right. Pure is gained by: OBVIOUS SPOILERS INCOMING: Never swearing. This should actually score you enough points for the soulmate flag on its own, so long as you don't lose points. However, if you still want to curse in every language known to man, as swearing does not subtract points on its own, there are just enough points to scrounge up to still trigger the flag. In the polo route, you have to Instinctively save Pippa, and not back down even if you fail. In the the fencing route, you can get a point for giving the panhandler your spare change and by not saving Zain but by then applying pressure to the wound. After club, if you are not a Greed MC or panicking, you must go back to Help Merlin after they first appear. Next point appears during 20 questions; when the topic of God and Angels come up, you have to Believe (do not pray). If you are kidnapped by the call, trying to help your burning apartment building is another point. (There's another point opportunity sandwiched in here, but it's by vowing off all swearing, but swearing is fun!) If you don't go into the gas station, questioning whether Merlin paid for everything is a point; if you do go in, simply not taking anything is a point. If you have three points, you have enough. It's lost by being a filthy, self-centered blackguard! No stealing (names are okay)! No harming people to get ahead (don't even think about it) and 1000 poxes on you murderers out there!
unbiquitousloser
@unhell-of-the-unwise u_hero is specifically raised in three points atm, you can commit to saving Pippa (you get the point even if you fail), passing the stat check to save Zain, or standing between Adrian and the hellhound after club. You only need one of these flags.
unhell-of-the-unwise
@unbiquitousloser Ah, I see. Thank you for the corrections.
unbiquitousloser
@unhell-of-the-unwise Happy to help (ďžÂ´ăŽ`)ďž*: シďž
nekoteus
@unhell-of-the-unwise The hero stat seems to be linked to succesfully saving people in club. So either chase down Pippa or knockaway the sword fragments in fencing club
randomguysayshello
Will>=7, cuckoo>=30,no corruption, don't be a coward, 1 or higher hero stat(the easy way is to rescue your clubmate), have 100 sweetness or your inner mind is sweet, have a pure stat greater than 3 (no serial killers, no pottymouths)
Quick purity guide

Hellhound chase:-
â
I wonder if I can trip Adrian without slowing too much?(-1 purity)

The Tentacle Incident:- If you get molested by those disgusting tentacles, â
"Let go and save yourself!"(+1 purity)
Merlin Loredump:- If you ask a question about gods â
Still I want to believe in them (+1 purity)
Kidnapped:- (I think atleast)
â
"Isn't there anything more we can do about helping now?"(+1 purity)
â
Atleast I'm not in the building (-1 purity)
â
I stand up in detemination, intent on leaving this RV and returning to help at the apartment complex(+1 purity)
â
Oh well. At least iw wasn't me(-1 purity)
â
Perhaps this is my true nature after all. (-1 purity)
One option for killer but you are already negative purity(-1000) so what's one more
randomguysayshello
¡Opinion on Merlin:- (Total -1 purity) First option:- â
My true opinion doesn't matter. Fully intend to take advantage of this situation. (No change, but unlocks the following choice):- â
I will play nice on the surface and try to manipulate Merlin(-1 purity)
¡Opinion of Adrian:- (Total -1 purity) First choice:- â
My true opinion of Adrian doesn't matter. In circumstances like this, it's best to play nice to someone's face for one's own benefit.(No change but unlocks following choice):- â
That's right, I fully intend to manipulate Adrian for my own benefit
¡Elevator scene(if the magic dance is still active):-
â
I MC_motion my MC_weapon and wave it menacingly in the interloper's general direction(-1 purity)
Security guard scene(if magic dance is still active):-
â
I MC_motion my MC_weapon and point it straight at the approaching security guard.(-1 purity)
¡In the RV:-
â
I shrug and sit back down on the sofa. In the end, it has nothing to do with me.(-1 purity)
ÂŤIf you haven't cursed and have a zero pothymouth variable you will get +1 purityÂť
randomguysayshello
@randomguysayshello ¡Dream sequence, specifically the fight with Lancelot:- â
Never mind, fair play and the rules of engagement, I charge straight at him before the match has properly begun.(-1 purity, only if you are a lucid dreamer)
¡After waking up, you decide what do with cursing in the apocalypse(at gas station):-
âŚIF you haven't cursed ever (zero pottymouth):- â
As usual my mind remain pure and free of any swear words that might fit this exact situation.(+2 purity) â˘Every other option that indicates you will now start to curse more often reduces purity by 1 point
âŚELSE:-
â˘Trying to not curse entirely increases purity by 1 point.
¡If you stay at the RV:-
â
One never knows until they try. I attempt to hot-wire the motorhome(-1 purity)
At the end of the gas station, if you didn't go to shop or had too much fear and ran back to the RV:- â
"You paid for all this stuff right?"(+1 purity)
âŚKiller option to reduce purity doesn't really matter
â If you decide to ransack the whole store:- If purity is greater than one, Purity is set to zero, otherwise -1 purity.
â If you take zero itmes whilst shopping(+1 purity)
âŚIf the RV has been sabotaged then, You will get a option to visit a shop:-
â
I head off into the small attached shop to see if there's anything intresting in there(no change) âŚPick a item or all items â
No skaes clerk. No security camera. No problem with me walking out the door with this MC_Purchase(-1 purity)
âŁThere's the guide doneâŁ
randomguysayshello
@randomguysayshello You only need 3 purity points for one of the requirements for being Percy's soulmate, and according to the code you can still be a pottymouth and have atleast 3 purity.

sweet girl - eminem
fem!y/n x B. Rabbit
masterlist
synopsis: y/n finally meets Lily after Rabbit decides they're ready.
warnings: cursing, mention of sexual actions
A/N: hope y'all enjoy! if y'all have more prompts, share!
Y/N sat in bed, reading her newly-found favorite magazine. As she turned the page, she felt a buzz under her leg. She sat up, searching for her phone (which she'd presumed had made the buzzing). She opened it to find a text from none other than her beloved boyfriend, Jimmy.
"Hey baby. Can you call right now?"
She had to admit, she was a little surprised. This was supposed to be his break time, during which he never called. She texted back quickly, wondering what could possibly warrant a call during his beloved 20 minutes of break.
"yeah. what's up?"
Y/N started to grow anxious. Why is he calling? Did he want to break up with her? Did he do something he shouldn't have? Did she do something to upset him?
Before she could finish her thoughts, her phone rang. Caller ID: jimmy :)
She answered by the second ring.
-Hey! What's up Jimmy? Why'd you call?
Jimmy smiled behind the phone. He was glad he was doing this.
-Hey baby. Just wanted to know if you could come by my place today and sleep over.
-Yeah, I can come by soon. Who's your sister staying with?
Every time she'd come by Jimmy's house, it was for a quick fuck or to hang out for a few hours. And Lily was never home during these sessions. Jimmy didn't want Y/N meeting her and Lily getting attached without knowing that Y/N was trustworthy.
But, by now, he knew she was ready to meet Y/N and Y/N was ready to meet her.
-Actually, I was hoping if you'd want to meet her today. I think it's time.
Y/N was basically jumping up and down with joy when she'd heard this. But she had to keep her cool.
-Uh, yeah. Yeah, I can come by and meet Lily for the first time.
When Y/N approached Jimmy's door, her legs began to shake a bit. Whatever Lily thinks of her could make or break her relationship with Jimmy; plus, she wasn't a huge fan of the idea of her boyfriend's little sister hating her.
Jimmy heard rapping at the door and stood up quickly. He'd already told Lily she was going to be meeting his girlfriend today; she seemed quite calm about it. To be honest, she was more calm than he was. He was praying to every god known to man that they'd get along. He opened the door and saw Y/N standing there with her duffel in hand and some snacks to share.
He smiled and let her in and called Lily into the room to say hi. Y/N was a bit tense, but it was now more out of excitement than anxiety. She looked to the doorway and saw a timid little thing with bright blonde hair staggering over to the couch.
-Hi, you're Lily right?
Y/N immediately softened her voice when she spoke to Lily. She seemed so sweet and quiet, Y/N knew immediately that they were going to get along just fine.
Lily nodded and looked her in the eyes. She then shifted her eyes to look at Jimmy behind Y/N. Jimmy smiled to try and reassure her.
-Y-Yeah. You're Y/N... right?
Y/N's heart broke at seeing Lily's reluctance to show her true self around people.
-Yeah! Say, Lily, what do you like to do in your free time?
-I like to watch cartoons and draw...
-Hey, me too! You wanna go do that now?
Lily nodded and a big grin began to crawl up her face. Jimmy smiled and sighed in relief knowing that everything was going to be okay.
Lily was in bed, probably dreaming of unicorns and princesses. Jimmy held Y/N close in his arms while they laid in bed, staring at the ceiling.
-She really likes you, you know?
Jimmy asked, smiling at the memory of Lily telling him how awesome Y/N was.
-I'm glad. I really like her too. You know, when you asked me over, I thought you were wanting to do something else.
Y/N said, slightly smirking. Jimmy chuckled and playfully slapped her on the shoulder.
-You wish that's what we were doing.
-Nah. Meeting Lily was better. They both giggled, feeling content. Then, they fell asleep in each other's arms.

Sylus's Voice Call: Remote Support
Today I felt like listening to his voice so I re-listen to his old voice calls and I realized I haven't listen to his Remote Support call.
I've said this before that Sylus is the type of person who I will probably love and admire from a safe distance because I am scared(?), intimidated, feel small yet attracted and in awed by his huge and secure presence. Like if I get to befriend him, I will try my best not to show my naturally pessimistic side. I will seek advice, yes, but I wouldn't dare to complain and whine in front of him because I feel like he won't entertain such things and would prefer if we get our shit together and face the problems ahead. Sylus is someone who would push his person to be the better version of themself whether the person is ready to face themself or not. He's a fierce green flag, a kind of friend my mom would pray for me to have, and the person who I should hold on to. But for me and my low self-esteem, Sylus is simply intimidatingly admirable.
... and through this voice call, I could say that I was almost right.
Maybe because I've met some friends and acquintances who have almost similar mentality/personality/presence as Sylus and I remember their firm, "positive" response and optimistic outlook made me feel even smaller, extra pessimistic and weak. And as the call continued, I was hella nervous when MC kept on pointing out how he was acting different than the "usual" Sylus would act (pampering her, calming her down, playing along with her antics etc)
I was like "Girl, just say thank you and ask for a simple advice and support or something. Stop it I'm scared! đ"
Maybe because I've never been too close to anyone in my life, most of the time I felt like MC is pushing it too far and that makes me feel scared and my social anxiety would just gradually makes its way into my already anxious heart. And I often thought to myself "Is this normal? Is this how people interact these days? Is this what they called a cute banter between people in love? Is this flirting? I'm scared." Especially when replying to the LIs texts, I always find myself feeling nervous, scared to choose between 3 options, as if there are right and wrong answers or the affinity level would drop if I choose the wrong one. Idk what to do with myself so sometimes I would left the texts unread for a few days until I'm ready lmao and that's how I actually am irl too.
Anyways, as my heart started pounding anxiously, waiting for his sharp remarks, I was relieved when he put them in words nicely. I was baffled at myself for expecting him to say mean things to MC lol.
When he said "believe in yourself" so softly I got teary eyes, heartbeat slowed down, I exhaled the breath I didn't realized I've been holding for a while and I just fell in love with him. Again.
And when he said that he would be there for MC anytime haaa such a heart pounding and warming phone call đŠ.
I love him and I would love him to be real but at the same time I would be sad if he is real because I know he won't even glance at my negative, pessimistic, low self-esteem ass. Seeing how he loves MC whose personality I can't relate to at all, yeah just stay fictional, my dear Sylus.
In conclusion, I'm scaroused of Sylus.
#but I do acknowledge that what I need right now is someone who will stubbornly push me forward to reach my potential#i don't have that kind of person in my life plus how severely unmotivated I am to pursue life lol i need this kind of friend asap#and I'm still scared and aroused by sylus whole existance#love and deepspace#lads#l&ds#love and deepspace sylus#lads sylus#l&ds sylus

I've never asked a question before, but your neighbor! James idea gave me so much brain rot because it was THAT good, and I had to write something about it or else I was going to die.
I was just writing whatever came to my head here, but I hope I did your idea justice:
"He saw her, oh did he see her, the pretty little thing that moved into an apartment just a few blocks down from his house a month ago. It was a shame really, James wouldn't get to see her as often as he would like but when he did, it became nearly impossible for him to focus on anything else.
You were all smooth skin and perfection with silky hair that he wanted tug on and run his fingers through coupled with the sweet sugary smell of vanilla from the perfume you always wore, it was just the right amount as to not be too overbearing yet heavy enough for him to get absolutely high of off, but James wouldn't have it any other way.Â
Although, sometimes when he finds himself alone in the confines of his bedroom late at night, heâd begin to have second thoughts about the whole thing, this âfeelingâ or whatever he wanted to call it was completely one-sided. It bothered him to no end but at the same time the still logical part of his brain was telling every nerve ending in his body that this was wrong, so very wrong.Â
This only made him want you even more, and this terrified him.
The filthy thoughts he had of you were always constantly buzzing around in his head like TV static that he didn't know whether to turn off and ignore or entertain just to see what would happen to himself. At some point James knew that he couldn't have his feet in both worlds, a decision would have to be made.Â
The only thing James could do right now was pray that he could keep this little game of his going as long as possible, no matter what it'd cost him.Â
He knew he was walking a tightrope, but he wanted so much more.
Then one day it happened, on his way to work, in the early light of the morning, that he saw you right outside of his window wearing a pastel blue sweater, a pair of black sneakers and a white colored pleated mini skirt that was leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination with your hair tied up into two space buns.
James found it all incredibly adorable yet also undeniably sexy, what he wouldnât have given in that moment to drag you into his house, take you up to his bedroom and lick every single part of you that his tongue could reach. Were you a screamer? Or were you one of those shy girls that stayed quiet? Honestly it wouldnât matter to him in the slightest, heâd have you screaming his name until that pretty little throat of yours hurt, regardless.
The opening noise of his front door made you look up at him with a bright smile and as embarrassing as it is for him to look back on this particular interaction now, he almost groaned, just from the sight of you even back then.Â
And it got even better when you opened that gorgeous mouth and James could practically feel the chemistry of his brain shift when you spoke, âHi! I'm (Y/N), nice to finally meet you, I was just going around the neighborhood and introducing myself to everyone. I just moved in, it's James, right?â
Oh god, he thought, Iâm so fucked."
Yeah, so I just wanted to share that before I exploded, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk
Ahhh thank you very much for this delicious thing dear!!
And yeah, you're honestly so right, James would be so thirsty and borderline obsessed that he'd start to be kinda creepy :(
He'd fantasize about you, your body, your scent, how you'd sound in bed if he actually took you; would you scream for him? Would you let out those sweet shy whimpers? Were you a sweet sweet virgin, just his for the taking and never letting you go?
I kind of see him as feeling guilty at times; look at him and look at you. He was a tired, washed out widower in his 30's with a boring office job. Sure it made him quite good money but what was the point of it if he didn't even know what to spend it on?
And then there was you, the sweet 20-something college girl who smelled like vanilla, was bright, smart, kind and had an amazing future in front of her, what would someone like you want to do anything with a guy like him?
His thoughts would race, his guilt rising until the moment you actually spoke to him, introducing yourself to James, your voice sweet with a tinge of shyness to it as you explained that you're just introducing yourself as the new neighbour.
Oh he was fucked.
