Y’know all of this made me think of a version of Inanimate Insanity but it’s actually a killing game like Danganronpa instead of a reality show
Like if MePhone4 watched Danganronpa and tried to host one himself and shit. Complete with pretending to be a despair-loving freak and all of that jazz
#attempts at socializing#danganronpa#inanimate insanity#based on II16. you know the one#spoilers for inanimate insanity and Danganronpa v3 beyond this point#I’m imagining that the contestants learn about 4 (who they believe has been infected by a despair loving virus)#they pity the guy who seemed to be a disaster magnet#first the guy has a terrible dad#second guy got infected by that virus#but then it turns out that the virus never existed and 4 was just playing a persona#not only that they learn that they were all created for the killing game#they get angry of course#but then again… the killed get revived someplace else#and the reason why he did that is because he never knew anything else#not even a loving life…#so they deduce that they are being watched#break the cameras#and force 4 to show his true self#and plan to save him from the true mastermind’s hold over him and end the killing game#so yeah you get to team up with knockoff monokuma against the mastermind :3#and yes it ends with all the contestants and shit disappearing#but perhaps at this point they have beaten the shit out of cobs and thus have completed their mission#so it’s time to say goodbye to the only ones who cared for mephone#or maybe they have done their part of the plan to defeat cons#and as say suitcase disappears they tell mephone#it’s time for you to break your strings.’#so yeah you get to help knockoff monokuma be the protagonist for once#and save him from Junko’s grasp#even though everything else is gone

I have a few doubts about how Phoenix could've forged that bloody fifth ace in AA4. I'm not outright denying he did it, but if so it's probably different from how Turnabout Trump framed it.
Let's start with what we know logically about Phoenix and Zak's last poker game.
There were two decks of cards; one red, and one blue.
Each deck had four of each card. This means each deck started with four aces.
The last game used the red deck.
The above point means the fifth ace Orla snuck into Phoenix's hand was a red card, making five red aces in total that game.
Kristoph took the real (fifth) bloody ace with him out of the crime scene.
Based on this and other information we have from this trial, I have two questions:
When did Phoenix forge the bloody ace?
Where did Phoenix get the red ace he used for forgery?
Phoenix said that he picked it up while he was at the crime scene, but this contradicts the evidence!
There were five red aces in play at the time of the murder. Kristoph already took one, and using a blue ace was out of the question. If Phoenix really took a red ace before the police arrived, he would've only had four to choose from.
Yet, all four were still at the crime scene after Phoenix was arrested. They were even submitted into evidence by the prosecution at the trial.
Unless there was somehow an unspoken sixth ace in the red deck for no reason, this tells us Phoenix lied about taking a red ace with him that night. Plus, having forged evidence on his person during arrest and detainment could've ended terribly for him.
He couldn't have forged it before the match since he wouldn't have known he needed an ace card at the time. And his pockets were clean when Zak searched him.
This leads us to believe the forged bloody ace was created sometime after Phoenix was arrested. But how can he do that when he's stuck under surveillance in the detention center?
The secret is Trucy.
(this is where it progressively dips further into headcanon territory)
With Phoenix locked up, Trucy would be the most likely candidate to pull off a stunt like this. As a magician, Trucy is all about illusions, and she's not above using them to get loved ones out of legal trouble.
Trucy's magic profession also means poker cards are a natural tool to have in her arsenal. Cards are her "stock and trade" after all.
As Phoenix put it, it's a naughty magician's trick. One she felt was necessary to save the only family she had left.
Now, here's why I still think Phoenix could've been telling the truth about forging the bloody ace himself. Even if Trucy was the mastermind of this plan, I don't think Phoenix would let her be the one to actually forge it for an important reason.
Apollo.
Him unlocking his latent perceiving ability was crucial for the trial, but it could've also become a double edged sword.
Phoenix only had his prodigy daughter for reference as to how strong a perceiver's senses are. If Phoenix ever had to lie about being the forger to protect Trucy, the risk of Apollo seeing through it would've been too much to stomach.
Even after the trial's over, it's better for Apollo to hold a grudge against Phoenix instead of Trucy. He couldn't let their secret sibling bond die before it could start.
So what better way to hide a lie than to make it true? All Phoenix would have to do is put a blot of red ink on a card Trucy snuck in during visiting hours and let her work her magic.
It's a technicality, but at least Phoenix can distract Apollo with a custom-made truth.
#ace attorney#phoenix wright#trucy wright#apollo justice#theory#headcanon#I like the headcanon that the forged ace was Trucy's idea#I feel like Phoenix would refuse the first time she brought it up#Mainly because he's afraid she'll be labelled a fraud and lose her chance for a future like he did for 7 years#Eventually though he'd realize he can't let Kristoph run free with his daughter living alone#But he'd still make Trucy promise to let him take the fall should the forgery come to light#It'd also kind of parallel how Drew Misham tried to take the blame for his own daughter Vera#Except Phoenix might've learned from that and added a few extra steps

Ouma Kokichi (Cookie) on Direction
I know now that my canon went differently. That my plan succeeded and everyone managed to get out. But that one post still got me thinking about the trial itself that I never witnessed. That's a lie, I did witness it, but only in the context of the game. In fact, I was the one holding the controller.
So for a long time I thought that my plan had failed. That Momota-chan fucked it up, taunting Monokuma so obviously halfway through that it tipped Saihara-chan off to the true motivations behind the case.
This isn't about that, though. This is about how quickly everyone teamed up with Monokuma simply because it was against me.
I agree with Joker that it was something I expected to happen. Although, I pictured it more in the sense that Monokuma would have no choice but to rely on the deductions of Saihara-chan to figure out who to give the title of Blackened. When I wrote that script, it was in direct opposition to Saihara-chan--the deductions he would make, the evidence he would use to solve a case like the one I was presenting to him--but that was less because I was pitting myself against Saihara-chan and more because I understood that Monokuma would be using him as a proxy in my true duel against him and the game itself.
Monokuma had no way of knowing who the Blackened was, so he would have no choice but to take Saihara-chan's verdict at face value and trust that the Ultimate Detective would once again bring Ultimate level work to the table.
When I played the game here, I did not expect how... eager everyone was to work with Monokuma.
It was offensive to me, to say the least. Even if I wanted everyone to hate me for the purpose of convincing them all I was the mastermind and give them an outlet for their frustration, even though I knew going in that compared to the others here like Kichi that I had the worse case of bullying in my canon, even if I fully expected it to be bad...
It still hurt.
That's a lie.
After going through the whole rest of the game, seeing Saihara-chan's flavor text, I was numb to it.
I was numb.
There was no way it didn't go that way in my canon. Absolutely no way. Everything leading up to my death had been too canon-compliant so far. I was prepared.
Preparation doesn't save you.
The very thing everyone was trying to unite against the entire fucking game had effectively shifted from Monokuma to me. Nevermind the fact that I was allegedly in cahoots with Monokuma, never-fucking-mind the fact that it would have made more sense for Monokuma to be teaming up with "me" (Momota-chan) during the trial because we were in cahoots, and no one batted an eye at the fact that he wasn't. I managed to usurp Monokuma in their minds somehow as the nexus of all their problems, and Monokuma thus became the enemy of their enemy in a comedy of errors where I did my job of painting myself as the mastermind too well.
How did I do that?
I hate those fucking lights.
I knew they were bogus. I knew they were bad news. I tried to convince everyone from the start not to use them, but then Momota-chan had to open his dumb, charismatic mouth and convince everyone to try, so then I had to try, too. Then down the rabbit hole we all went, using light after light until it became routine. Even when I'd ended the killing game by way of violent takeover, they still used it. Didn't question at all how odd it was that a new one showed up even though the game was over. Didn't question how if I had revealed myself as the mastermind, why didn't I come out and taunt them with it myself?
Saihara-chan, you idiot. Too caught up in what you've been presented, eating it up out of the palm of the mastermind's hand.
It's all about direction, and making people see what you want them to see. Shirogane-chan and I were at constant odds in that regard. She pushed me into my contingency plan, coloring everything I said with subtle comments and misdirection to draw attention to my bad qualities. Even when I tried to be clear and make my stance known, if people didn't jump to question it themselves, she would be there to pepper in some uncertainty. Like Joker said in his post, people often make liars out to be bad people.
She shined the harshest spotlight she could on that aspect of me.
Whereas despite being the gamemaster of the killing game, Monokuma ironically always told the truth. How weird is that?
They became comfortable with the rules. A safety net of truth that gave structure to the world they found themselves in. Slowly growing complicit in them despite the fact our only goal should have been to break out of them from the start.
Even Akamatsu-chan fell victim to the structure of the rules. A direction. A way of thinking placed in her head that murder was the only option.
She strung them along like puppets on strings, but I knew the ways of direction like that and wasn't keen on playing along. I was contrarian from the beginning, and I didn't want to abide by her rules, and she didn't like that. So to all her little sheep did she whisper, it's strange and suspicious, is it not? And like good little sheep they listened.
And like good little sheep they chose Monokuma over me.
And like a good little sheep, Saihara-chan was too blinded by the rules and the direction she wanted him to look that he didn't even realize what I was trying to do until it was too late.

Okay, now I’m curious to know how the events are going to play out after Yakou’s wife’s mystery Labyrinth.
One, since the culprit is technically fake!Zilch, does that mean his soul won’t be reaped from the Mystery Labyrinth since he is already dead from Chapter 0? Or is he still alive this time?
Second, will Yakou learn that Yomi was the one who sent the Book of Death to him in the Mystery Labyrinth like Yuma learned Yomi was the mastermind of Chapter 4 in-game, or will he learn it once he’s out of the Mystery Labyrinth?
Third, will the events after the Mystery Labyrinth play out differently this time, like if Yomi’s alive, he captures and arrests everyone like he intended to, or does Makoto still come in and save the day as usual?
I feel like the Mystery Labyrinths aren't limited to mysteries relating to finding the culprit of a murder. Obviously these situations tend to call for the labyrinth most, but there could be cases where the mystery involves finding the identity of a stalker, kidnapper, or other 'culprits' of that nature. They all end in the culprit's true identity being revealed and reaped, so it's not always the best idea to call upon the Mystery Labyrinth knowing this. However, it can happen. In that regard, the mystery needed to be solved for chapter 4's labyrinth is different that finding the one who actively committed the murder. Rather, it's about finding the identity of the 'mastermind,' AKA the one who originated the plan to kill Yakou's wife. Though in Yakou's eyes, before the full truth is revealed, the mastermind and actual murderer could've been one in the same. He banked on that answer the most.
After Shinigami reaps the soul of Dr. Huesca--the mastermind--the usual chapter 4 mindfuckery ensues of realizing the labyrinth isn't falling apart like normal. Turns out Yakou still has more to solve regarding the identity of Anonymous. As a last resort piece of evidence, Shinigami offers a scrap of the Anonymous letter sent to Yakou. She claims she burned it all as a part of the pact, but she ended up saving a piece of it for a moment just like this. Yakou understands much too late that Huesca was co-conspiring with Yomi Hellsmile, who sent out his personal hitman to do the dirty deed. The peacekeeper director taunts them openly, bragging about how Huesca's death was all a part of his ultimate plan. Vivia and Shinigami have to put all their strength into holding Yakou back from lunging at Yomi's mystery phantom in a fit of rage. The labyrinth is destroyed, leaving the detectives practically helpless.
Back in the real world, Yakou and Vivia are cornered by Yomi and his peacekeepers, angrily ordering the duo to surrender. Vivia steps up and threatens Yomi with his confession of being the co-conspirator to Yakou's wife's death. In a flash, Vivia drops limp on the floor. Yomi twirls the whip in his hands as he sharply smirks. He mutters to himself, yet loud enough to Yakou to hear, about how the pact served him well. His words shake Yakou to his core. Before the chief can exclaim his horror, More peacekeepers file in, the rest of the NDA detectives dragged in tow. They're all handcuffed, caught red-handed for trespassing and disturbing the peace. Yuma is kicked to the ground, whimpering in pain. Yakou stumbles to the ground and slides over to Yuma, keeping himself between the rookie and his lifelong rival. Yomi snickers as he plays with the thought of shooting down the detectives and leaving Yakou all by himself. With the law in the palm of his hand, he could frame Yakou for the massacre of his own tight-knit group. He got away with it once, he very well could do it again. Yakou will always be alone.
A distant voice states that Dr. Huesca was found dead in his room, but the emails clearly showed the one person wanted him gone the most. Yomi's wide grin morphs into one of fear as Makoto Kagutsuchi and the rest of the Peacekeeper higher-ups follow behind him. Martina, Seth, Guillaume, Dominic, and Swank stare at Yomi, all upset by his poor treatment of them. Vastly outnumbered, Yomi is checkmated. His game of chess has come to an end. Arrested, Yomi screams of revenge as the peacekeepers send him to rot in a prison cell. Makoto promises to Yakou that no harm will be done to him and his detectives, but they must vacate the premises and keep the ordeal under wraps. With nothing better to say, Yakou reluctantly agrees. Makoto hands Yakou a small gift box for his work in solving the four-year old murder. The NDA are free to return to the agency as one, and a newly-reformed peacekeeper division is on the horizon. But much to their misfortune, Kanai Ward's Ultimate Secret towers above them all.

The Collector in Retrospect
Hey there. I was bored, so I started watching old episodes again. I thought I’d go back to Season Two and see what new insights I had into the characters.
First and foremost, the most important part of the episode was the JuleRose moment near the beginning.
I can’t help it. They’re adorable. XD I need to go back and watch Season One again to see if they act cute in the background anywhere. I know Rose says something like, “Oh, my poor Juleka” when Juleka gets locked in the bathroom before she gets akumatized, but I don’t recall any other couple-y moments from Season One.
Moving on. This is the “Gabriel is emotionally abusive” episode, honestly. Look at him calmly trashing his atelier while his son listens and feels horrible in another room.
The below is just diabolical. He purposely goes to the cabinet where he keeps Adrien’s picture, looks at it for a moment, and then flings it. Emotionlessly. Also, notice that he keeps the picture in a cabinet, not on display like the pictures of Adrien modeling Gabriel’s designs that fill the room. Adrien’s drawing isn’t even in the safe with Gabriel’s precious items. It makes me question why Gabriel still has the picture at all. He doesn’t seem to value it. :/
And Adrien looks so heartbroken when he sees the picture lying on the ground amidst the rubble. ;-: Poor baby. I wonder if he thinks it’s significant that his father has the picture in his office. To Adrien, is that a sign that his father loves him? The boy lives on scraps of affection, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he did think of Gabriel having the picture as proof that his father cares.
Though, when Ladybug and Chat Noir go to Adrien’s room to find Adrien missing, Chat Noir suggests that Le Collectionneur has already captured Adrien. Ladybug’s response is “Do you really think he would do that to his own son?!” You can tell from Chat’s body language below that he’s honestly not sure if Gabriel would hurt Adrien or not. It’s really sad that he’s uncertain of his father’s love. Baby Boi deserves ALL of the love. Who’s with me?
But then, after the battle, Gabriel comes to, profusely thanks Ladybug and Chat Noir for saving him, and then remembers he has a son whom he is terribly worried about.
On first viewing, I thought that Gabriel was earnestly worried about Adrien, but now I’m more inclined to think of this as part of the act he’s putting on for the heroes. Obviously, his thanking them just before this was an act, and after they leave, he gets his evil face on and bwahahas about how everything went according to his plan. I’m thinking that everything he said and did in front of Ladybug and Chat Noir was an act to throw off suspicion, including his feigned concern about Adrien. (I mean, he knows Adrien is all right after the Miraculous Ladybug, right?)
But here’s Chat Noir’s face as Gabriel says how precious his son is to him. Chat’s like, “Oh! My father does love me after all!” Poor baby. :/
In other news, something I found really interesting was the below scene. Gabriel is telling Adrien that the book is important because it was the last gift he received from Adrien’s mother before she disappeared, so, along with Adrien, it’s all Gabriel has left of her. This might not be true. We know why the book is really important, but it could be true that she gave the book to Gabriel. XD I really want her to be the evil mastermind behind all this. That would make me really, really happy. XD #LetÉmilieBeEvil2021
Adrien’s body language when he’s around Gabriel was really interesting to me this episode. The below is from earlier on in the episode when Gabriel is chewing Adrien out for losing the book and telling him he’s forbidden from returning to school.
See how Adrien curls up, hands between his knees, head hanging? He’s making himself as small as possible. In the above, which takes place after the “reconciliation” when Gabriel is apologizing for losing it over the book, Adrien still has a protective arm across his front, and he holds his other arm in a self-soothing gesture. He’s still really uncomfortable and skittish around his father after their conflict.
Okay. That was pretty depressing. Let’s end with something cute. Look at Wayzz running on the gramophone! He’s so precious!
Look at him getting stuck while evil Tikki watches his suffering and laughs as she sits high atop her throne. XD (I also love the evil Tikki theory. ^w^)

Nagito and Kokichi x SHSL Therapist during the Killing Game:
Nagito Komeida:
· “Listen, because I am only going to say this once.” “Ah, the words of the Ultimate Therapist. Of course I will listen intently.” “In a situation like that which we are in now this is stupid, very stupid, BUT bottling things up would only be worse. Open communication is the best, so you do not need to give me an answer or reciprocate. All I’m saying is you certainly have some mental issues that I highly recommend you look to a professional for…” You scribbled down some names, addressed and phone numbers on a little piece of paper before passing it to Nagito. “I know you respect those you see as ‘Ultimate’ and that you likely would not listen to any professional other than myself, but I can’t because I have a crush on you. So listen to me on this, when we get out of her contact one of these people, and LISTEN to them. I know they will treat you well and help you in a way I legally and professionally can’t.” You placed a hand on Nagito’s head, lightly ruffling his fluffy hair before turning around and walking away. “… huh?... w-wait, Wait!” Confused you looked over your shoulder finding Nagito clutching on of your hands and his face flushed a bright red. “Huh, so you have the gall to touch me. Good, you’re already making improvements. Normally you’d say you’re unworthy.” “You like me too!?” “… Ah, so the feeling’s mutual.”
· Romance in a killing game, and with Nagito of all people was certainly an experience… in that it felt exactly like a normal relationship, even without the threat of death looming in the air. It was a nice escape from it all. Nagito so believed his ‘superiors’ would escape he seemingly didn’t have a care in the world, so the relationship didn’t feel forced or out of place, at least between the two of you. There still was the whole Nagito thinking he’s trash thing, but you could try to boost up his self-worth as his partner, though not going into full out therapy mode was rather difficult for you.
· …
· Then he died in that messed up case. You didn’t realize just how attached to him you had gotten till that case… And you hated him. It was not for how depraved he made his killing or anything else, no. It was because you knew him, and you knew he thought you wouldn’t care, being a strong Ultimate and if you did fall into despair because of him it would only bloom into a bright hope. No matter what to him everything would end happily and you were left behind to pick up the pieces. You knew they why and how Nagito’s thinking process worked, but it hurt all the more because you understood.
· Then when you awoke from the simulation… it took time, and a lot of work but eventually you were willing to give your relationship another shot.
Kokichi Oma:
· From the very start, even before you had learned you were to be forced to kill one another in some twisted torture masquerading as a game, you had taken interest in the Super High School Level Supreme Leader. From your first impression of him he was just a jovial guy who wanted to have fun. Even after the… ‘game’ began he kept looking out for everyone, getting Kaede to stop in her escapade to escape through the tunnel when all it was doing was hurting everyone. He was never direct in his kindness likely due to not wanting Monokuma to target him like it had Kaede and her plans. He understood people on a level most others over looked, much like yourself.
· Even after he began to push others away you still spent time with him, your excuse either being to keep an eye on him or socially isolating him would only unhinge him more so you had to keep him company. Being the Super High School Level Therapist, the others didn’t question how you’d hug Kokichi or hold his hand. They didn’t think twice about you giving him gifts and the like, you always saying you had to be extra affectionate to pick up the slack of others being unwilling to even approach the troublemaker. You even gave them fake reports on his mental well being to further convince them.
· Though you never admitted your feelings, you both understood what was going on. You both just indulged in the moment, neither of you being sure these feelings would last, but it didn’t matter if they would last or if they just appeared as a means of escapism or self-preservation in this insanity, you both possibly would never escape so… the feelings might as well as have been real.
· Kokichi tried rejecting you, he truly did, he didn’t want to hurt you, Kokichi wasn’t planning on escaping he knew no matter what SOMEONE would have to die, and if everyone hated him, it wouldn’t hurt… but even he couldn’t lie to himself, he needed some emotional support through all this, and you did just that, through both honesty and lies so at least the others would stay clear of him and still trust you. Every hug, every second holding hands, even just a tender glance given across the room, he cherished every last moment… Yet it also stabbed at him, even if all the others didn’t care for him… he’d still hurt one. The one person he was most attached too on top of that… you would even UNDERSTAND why… it was so cruel, he couldn’t help but laugh every time he thought about it.
· Then… then when he ‘revealed’ he was the Mastermind, summoning the exisals, you acted like you were in on it all, that you were working with him as a obedient member of his secret organization. He couldn’t call you out or else it’d ruin his whole plan, the others would become suspicious. You had forced his hand, he had to take you along, truthfully it was the smart move, but… he hated it so much at least he could be with you and not just isolated with an enraged Kaito. The pair of you pretended to be some super villains who had finally taken over the world, like this all was some cartoon… but like any cartoon the villians lose at some point Maki having broken in trying to save Kaito and kill you both. She however more so had her sights set on you, enraged by your betrayal of their trust, HER trust!
· The trial was true hell, you trying desperately to keep Kaito from ruining Kokichi’s sacrifice, his plan for Kaito’s own self important grandeur or whatever while also trying to not get murdered by an assassin. But the idiot won, it was all in vain, only more deaths and even more pain.
· After the trial had come to an end, you isolated yourself. You just… needed time to process it all.

[CN] Season 2 Summary (Volume 4: Ch 10 - 13)
🍒 Warning: Detailed spoilers from S2 🍒
Along with the update on 3 June 2021, the CN server released a “Plot Review” which contains bullet-point summaries of S2 :>
Volume 3 Summary: here
You receive a name list of people involved in the Evol assassinations, and realise that quite a number of them were participants in the Hunter Game. After considering the significance of this list, you decide to discuss the matter with Victor
With Victor’s prompting, you do a cost-benefit analysis and find that disclosing the document brings greater benefits than disadvantages. However, doing this will make LFG a target of the true mastermind behind the assassination incidents
“After all, he isn’t the only one with a trump card.”
As expected, disclosing the list results in heated debate from various segments of society
While leaving Souvenir one day, the brake of Victor’s car fails to work because someone tampered with it
The two of you have no choice but to speed around the city. Despite it being an incredibly dangerous situation, he remains composed, successfully resolving the issue before him. It’s the first time you realise how skilled Victor is in driving
After the incident, you track down the person who tampered with Victor’s car, and find that he has been assassinated
Likely sensing your feelings, Victor invites you to the park after work. When you head to the park as arranged, you see his figure from afar as he waits for you
You deliberately send him a text, telling him that you’re still at work. He believes it at first, but reacts soon after. He scans his surroundings, then meets your eyes amongst the crowd
“Childish.”
While taking a stroll in the park, the both of you stop before a tree. A long time ago, Victor had coursed through time and entered the future in order to prove that the future could be changed. Back then, you had engraved your wish. This time, the same words are your source of determination. Next to you, Victor smiles and changes “May everyone be safe and healthy” to “Everyone will be safe and healthy”
When he takes you to the riverside, Victor finally tells you the true reason why he asked you to meet him. He’s currently acquiring businesses related to the “Small Syringes”. He needs this information to be publicly disclosed in order to lure the forces that are lying low to the surface voluntarily. Even though you’re worried, you choose to trust his decision. You volunteer to release this news as it can drum up a large volume of public opinion
Victor looks at you, his expression proud and gentle
"Here’s to a pleasant collaboration.”
After the news is made public, the reputation of LFG suffers a drastic decline as expected
On the surface, your interactions with LFG have lessened. At the entrance of LFG, Victor walks forward amid the remarks and hostility by passers-by. You want to defend him, but reason tells you to stay where you are, and not act impulsively
As your eyes gradually redden, you receive a message from him-
“The weather is pretty nice today.”
Victor’s plan progresses steadily. What you’ve done has also allowed the reputation of Black Swan to rise
Even though the two of you are walking in different directions, you are certain that you’re standing in the turbulent undercurrents together
The director of the hospital whom you once interviewed has discovered a reason for the pathological changes in Evolvers, and has invited you over to talk about it. Unfortunately, a group of Evolver gangsters has suddenly taken the hospital hostage
The STF rushes to the scene quickly. When you hear Gavin’s voice, your heart feels much more at ease
The main plotter, Yang Ping, has held normal civilians as hostages, and requests for a series of provisions to be made for Evolvers, so that Evolvers can have more “benefits”
Struck with an idea, you remain on the scene to assist Gavin at any moment. When he sees you, Gavin understands your intentions despite being worried
The STF receives an order from the higher ups to disregard the lives of the hostages, and go straight to quashing the situation. Gavin openly defies orders, choosing to safeguard the lives of everyone as a priority, and to negotiate with the gangsters
“I’ll take responsibility for all the consequences.”
During the confrontation with Yang Ping, Gavin uncovers Yang Ping’s true motive: to force the STF into harming someone in order to shatter the balance between civilians and Evolvers
Catching Gavin’s hint, you pretend that the negotiation went sour and that Yang Ping had injured you, turning the tides in your favour. After all, you’re simply an Evolver used as a chip in the negotiation. Yang Ping’s claim of “doing things with Evolvers in mind” no longer holds any weight
Because of this, the STF agents are given an opportunity to suppress the gangsters
Everything appears to be wrapped up smoothly, but the director is suddenly shot by a sniper. Yang Ping is also shot
Late at night, you spot Gavin standing below your house, braving the rain
Gavin seems to be experiencing complex emotions. To you, perhaps he was unable to fire every bullet for justice
Sensing that Gavin isn’t simply referring to the incident at the hospital, you tell him that you believe in his judgement
“I’ll find the truth behind this incident.”
Gavin also gives you an incredibly resolute response
A few days later, Gavin seems to have made up his mind. He tells you that he’s investigating an incident called “New Year’s Day Change”, and he needs your help
You agree immediately
Gavin has already contacted a key informant: an old ex-policeman. Because the forces behind the incident are incredibly complicated, he needs you to cooperate with him in putting on an act
“Miss Nox isn’t showing due respect by dampening one’s spirits the moment she enters.”
He needs those people who have been paying close attention to this incident to have a mistaken impression that he’s still searching for the old ex-policeman. In order to protect you, he needs you to leave his side
Gavin will be the target of scrutiny, while the eyes on you will slacken. You’ll use this opportunity to become the mode of communication between Gavin and his informants, safely assisting Gavin in advancing in his investigations
As the final step of this plan, Gavin pushes you off the top of a building
He appears determined in breaking off relations, while you're hesitant and powerless. But the both of you are clear that the plan is going as smoothly as imagined
“I’m the greatest danger.”
You know that Gavin is walking down his path resolutely. And you will naturally want to become the person standing beside him, walking down the same path
Through a report done by a member of Black Swan, you discover that the pathological changes in Evolvers are related to their Evol. You also realise that Helios seems to be investigating this matter
At the same time, Savin tells you that something has happened to Kiro, and he’s in the hospital. You immediately rush over, but you’re told that Kiro doesn’t want to see anybody
Across the door, you tell Kiro that you wish to see him. After a strange silence, he speaks slowly
“Thank you. You can go back.”
Behind the door, only Kiro knows the reason why he’s behaving strangely - due to a sonic bomb, he has lost his hearing
Kiro avoids you for many days, until he organises an exclusive “live concert” for you one evening. The next day, he’s finally willing to meet you. When you see that Kiro doesn't seem to have changed much, you relax a little, despite having many doubts
But in the evening, you receive a statement from him which says he’s “retiring from public life permanently”, and he vanishes
Knowing full well just how much he loves the stage, you decide to keep the matter hidden, attempting to look for him
Unexpectedly, you bump into Helios at the Black Swan building
“The person you’re looking for isn’t here.”
His cold attitude makes you understand that Kiro has turned himself into Helios. He’s hiding from you, and also himself
To have a better understanding of his actions, you look through the clues pertaining to him. When you investigate the Hunter Game again, a stone tablet with the symbol “8″ appears multiple times
In order to carry out a concrete investigation, you return to the forest where you had once participated in the Hunter Game, and search for that stone tablet
The moment you touch it, thorns and thistles grow on the stone tablet, cutting your hand and absorbing your blood. Before you can react, the ground underneath your feet opens. Just as you’re about to fall into the abyss, Helios saves you
Despite being faced with his icy attitude, you attempt to form a partnership with him to explore this place
In the dark, rays of light fluctuate into a message that neither of you can comprehend. 19, an artificial intelligence which remains here, enables you to understand that this place is a historical ruins left behind by the previous civilisation - “Lighthouse”
19 tells the both of you that their world was once as flourishing as it is right now, but it was destroyed. They left the “Lighthouse” behind in hopes of assisting the both of you in preventing the fated destruction
You and Helios also hear about the songs from that generation. Cultures and languages may not be the same, but music can cross barriers
When one song ends, Helios sings that melody in his own way, letting it echo in this time and space
"All of you still exist.”
After leaving the Lighthouse, you tell him that you’re going to continue with the investigations, and use your own method to tell Helios that you’re willing to face him, and would like to carrying out this operation with him. You hope that this time, he can walk towards you voluntarily
After returning, you receive a call from an unknown number
“It’s me.”
In order to investigate the Hunter Game further, you once again participate in the game as a punter
You do your best to search for the stone tablet in this game, but accidentally get targeted by two players. Just as you plan to fight with them, Shaw, whom you haven’t seen in several days, appears from behind you
The both of you cooperate, settling the score with the other two
“Tch. Not even one of you can fight.”
You tell him about the “Lighthouse”. Shaw, who has been researching on the historical ruins, guesses that the venue of the Hunter Game could be deliberately designed to be near the ruins. By using large amounts of Evol energy fluctuations, it could unseal the ruins
While the discussion has signs of a positive outcome, the two of you are still embroiled in the game
Shaw’s conspicuous ranking and high-key thunder and lightning have attracted numerous opponents to him. But with your cooperation, the enemies fail in succession
The metal chain around his neck notifies him that he has advanced into the next round, but he loses consciousness in your arms due to a fever
The youth who usually hangs around Joker appears before you. You use psychological tactics to goad him into sending Shaw to the hospital. On the other hand, you’re taken away by him for breaking the rules of the game repeatedly
When Shaw regains consciousness, he’s unable to contact you. He returns to the antique store, only to see that it has been swallowed up by an abnormal black flame
“Get lost!”
In spite of the firefighters’ obstructions, Shaw makes repeated trips into the shop, “rescuing” the calligraphy and paintings
By the time the fire is extinguished, the antique shop is already half scorched, as though it’s a warning
Based on the youth’s memories, you discover that Joker has once visited the former site of the BS research centre. In order to find out why, you hurry over
You inadvertently find that there’s someone in the archive room. Just as you're feeling tense, your phone suddenly rings - at 2.03pm, an unknown number calls you
The sound exposes you. Taking out a gun, you attempt to warn the person in the building
“I surrender.”
That person turns out to be Lucien, and he's holding a floppy disk in his hand
Lucien explains what he’s doing here, and even demonstrates how you can use the data in the floppy disk
A series of numbers flash on the screen before it turns dark
Having considered that this process of reading data is highly confidential, Lucien notes how they might have been watched earlier, and that it’s better to leave
However, you suddenly feel dizzy. In the next second, you find yourself in the corridor. The door to the archive room is shut tight, and you can’t see Lucien anyway
Even though you’ve clearly set your phone to silent mode, it rings again. The screen shows that it’s 2.03pm. It’s a missed call from an unknown number
Returning to the archive room, it’s as though Lucien didn’t meet you earlier
You surmise that you’re experiencing this for the second time, and Lucien believes you without hesitation, speculating that you might have been in a time loop
Just as he says, whenever a certain amount of time passes, everything returns to 2.03pm
Unexpectedly, but as a matter of course, Lucien believes you every single time. He analyses the situation with you, helping you escape from the time loop
After a few more time loops, Lucien figures out a way to escape
“This time, let me accompany you in jumping out of this looping time.”
Time requires an object of reference. You're at the centre of the time loop circle, and the compass drawing the circle is your phone
Because this phone is special, it doesn’t vanish when you leave it with Lucien. At the same time, in order to measure time, your phone reappears in your hand
Since one object cannot exist in two places at the same time, this results in a contradiction that causes time and space to collapse
The next day, you and Lucien meet along the corridor, and agree to go on a stroll outside
Even though many things are unclear, the radiance of spring before you makes everything seem as though they are going in a beautiful direction. You can’t help but mention the promise you once made with Lucien to fly kites
“Spring may not necessarily arrive at a fixed time.”
In a teasing manner, Lucien says that he isn’t late. You also think that perhaps many things can start afresh
All of a sudden, you feel a severe pain in your chest-
“Now, spring has just begun.”
The words Lucien just said have yet to disperse
At this moment, he’s holding your collapsed form. The only colour in his monochrome world is gradually fading

Chapter 19/22 (updating daily - and twice on Sundays)
Story Summary: When his brother’s best friend calls in desperate need of help, mercenary Killian Jones will stop at nothing to save the woman from his old enemy. Flying halfway across the world to meet Emma Swan was all part of the plan, falling for her not so much.
Between deadly inventions, criminal masterminds, and his feelings, he soon realizes he may be in over his head.
That’s just the way he likes it, really.
Rating: M
Thanks to @motherkatereloyshipper for reading this over and making it better! This bonus chapter is brought to you by the promise of YESSSS baby, my version of getting an A for effort.
“You gotta stay steadfast
Tread lightly
’Cause they’re looking for a reason to knock you down”
-Hold the Line, Tom Morello featuring grandson
Killian tried to remember he liked Tiny. Truly. Perhaps more importantly, he was a friend of Swan’s, so it would be bad form to torture information out of the man.
That’s not to say he didn’t briefly think about it, though. It had been more than an hour since they discovered Emma had given them the slip once again. An hour of worry, frustration, and aggravation topped off by the cavalier attitude of their guest and the dour warnings of the federal agent who blamed this all on him.
He supposed he may have played some part in it, but he wasn’t the one who pushed her out the door. Liam held that honor. He also wasn’t the one who helped her leave through the back undetected. Tiny won that award.
He was simply the man who stole her heart and proceeded to show her repeatedly he didn’t deserve it. So in a way, he supposed he was responsible.
Despite Liam’s demands, Will’s joking, Robin’s reason, and David’s good-natured cajoling, Tiny remained immovable. Regina finally gave up, feeling time was of the essence and moving on to other leads without so much as a goodbye.
When it was Killian’s turn, he simply asked again, “Where was she heading?”
“You said you would look after her, man. She did not look like a girl who was being treated right when she came upstairs,” Tiny admonished.
“I screwed up, Tiny. I told Emma some things that weren’t entirely true and let her believe other things that weren’t. But you know I would never intentionally hurt her, and I would kill anyone who tried. Tell me where she is so I can get back to the business of keeping her safe.”
“I don’t know. I like you but Emma’s family,” he responded, looking torn for the first time.
Luckily, their less than successful interrogation was interrupted by a phone call. When Tiny answered, he nodded and held out the phone to Liam. “It’s for you.”
Liam grabbed the phone and listened to whoever was on the other end of the line. His expression went from puzzled to surprised to shocked. “You’re sure about this, lad?”
Whoever it was must have convinced him because seconds later, Liam tossed the phone back to Tiny and announced, “Belle is at Gold Towers. Emma’s probably already with her.”
“Oh, thank goodness,” Tiny sighed. “My resolve was weakening.”
Will exchanged a disbelieving look with the group that articulated how they all felt. Hell would have frozen over before the giant told them the first thing about his friend.
“I guess since we’re all on the same page now, I should tell you that Emma found a microchip in the watch,” he added, pulling over his wireless keyboard and typing in a few commands. “TruestBeliever is right. Emma’s already at Gold Towers. Or at least she’s parked a few blocks from there. I’ll call in reinforcements now.”
“Not necessary,” Liam said. “I’m done tiptoeing around this minefield. We’ll get Belle and make sure Miss Swan doesn’t blow up the building. Then I want us all on a plane to London by sundown.”
Killian had other ideas but figured it wasn’t worth fighting about now. Plenty of time for that later, after the ladies were safe and sound. The six men grabbed their gear, ranging from smuggled sniper rifles that would have landed them in jail if Regina had seen them to expensive computer equipment.
Jones Consulting was going to war.

Beautiful Lies (Ron Weasley x Fem!Reader)
Summary: The reader tried to persuade the Weasley twins to bring her along to another prank of theirs but they’re not sure if can lie good enough to cover for them. How should she prove them she’s made for it?

.
“What in the world do I have to do so you’ll bring me along?!” Y/N cried out, desperation written all over her face. She’d been trying for over a week now to show the twins she’s good enough to let her join their little prank club. It was safe to say that the young witch had tried everything to show them just how similarly brilliant her mind is to theirs. She even managed to pull an outstanding prank on George that eventually ended up embarrassing Fred as well so it was even a bigger accomplishment than she expected it to be. Hermione started to doubt Y/N’s not a Weasley after all, calling her a “Weasley from another mother” that left her a flustered mess every time she glanced at Ron trying to bury the obvious feelings deep inside of her so no one could ever find out. Little did Y/N know that Hermione is very well aware of everything that was going on inside of her head – especially about the little crush she’d developed on Ron over the years.
“We already told you that we can’t just bring you with us, love.” Fred chuckled winking at the girl in front of him.
“But why? I literally proved you that I’m just what you need! A new way of thinking in the game!” Y/N tried her luck one more time, her heart sunk a little with every word Fred just said. It may had not been a good idea to go after them every minute of every day, imposing herself like an idiot.
The Weasley twins exchanged a knowing look, one very well known to Y/N revealing to her that they just agreed on something without the need to use any words. The plan was formed. The die was cast. The game was on.
“Spill it. What did you two come up with? Some sort of last challenge to show what a genius I am?” the Y/H/C-haired girl smirked, earning two even wider grins from the tall red-heads. She was definitely the perfect person to their team but why not have some fun first?
“Show us how can you lie. We want to hear you lie real hard to someone, doesn’t matter about what but it has to be convincing enough. We need to know you’re able to cover for us.” George stated as mischievous fire was dancing in his eyes.
“You know what, George? Why not set a concrete person as well to make it more challenging? I’m sure Y/N can manage since she’s such a genius.” the other twin nodded and she knew she won’t like a bit what they’re about to say.
“Fred, I’m thinking exactly the same thing.”
“Lie to Ron.” both of them almost sang, their voices filled with mischief as they watched Y/N’s face go from a pale white to a burning red. She expected a lot of things but not this one, not a one that would include their brother. It was at this exact moment, the twin’s eyes sparkled, when Y/N realized that they might have known about her crush all along.
“Ehm… about what exactly?” she cleared her voice so it wouldn’t sound so shaky and nervous but she had a suspicion that it just added to the twin’s conviction.
“We believe you’ll think of something, won’t you, darling?” Fred smirked high-fiving George in the air at their triumph.
•••
Y/N spent the rest of the day trying to come up with something so convincing that it’d surprise the Weasley twins so hard that they’ll have to beg her to join them. She eventually asked Hermione for some help but not even the smartest witch seemed to think of something that brilliant.
Y/N replayed the conversation with the twins from earlier that day over and over in her head trying to find at least some clue on why they looked like they just won the Triwizard tournament.
Lie to Ron.
His name circled in her mind like a dangerous thought. Y/N didn’t paid much attention to her surroundings, being really occupied with her current problem, so when a certain person walked down the stairs into the common room, she didn’t bother to look up and kept on contemplating about her mischief.
“We don’t have any assignments for tomorrow, do we?” his voiced echoed through the place and her head shot up immediately. Y/N was met with a pair of blue eyes burning into her. She swallowed hard, her throat suddenly got dry and she wasn’t able to get out a single word.
“I think Y/N’s trying to say that we’re just studying, right?” Hermione tried to save the situation as she sent her an inconspicuous look that was worth a million words.
“Oh, y-yeah, right. Just studying. You should try it too.” she managed to say, finally looking away from Ron’s captivating eyes that didn’t make her stutter for some random reason.
“Studying, girls, right?” another pair of familiar voices joined the conversation and Y/N could not help but roll her eyes at their knowing smirks. This was way too harder than she thought and she was very well aware of the fact that the twins are definitely winning their little challenge.
“Maybe we could study some day together, Y/N?” Ron’s quiet voice brought her back from the speculating as he sat down on the sofa next to her, maybe way too closer, Y/N suddenly focusing on the proximity between them.
“We certainly can! That’d be awesome.” she responded too quickly and too enthusiastically than she probably should but at this moment she didn’t really care any more. The game was bloody on and she was gonna get what she wanted.
“Really?” Ron almost squealed with delight, his cheeks blushing immediately, “I mean, really?” his voice sounding deeper and more serious now. She let out an amused laugh, while her mind inappropriately wandered to his lips and how would it feel to touch them. With the corner of her eyes, Y/N caught a glimpse of the twins closely eavesdropping their whole conversation, looking smug as ever.
It was then when it hit her, what the red-heads truly meant.
“Of course, Ron.” Y/N moved a bit closer to his body, “but there’s a little catch.”
Ronald’s palms got suddenly all sweaty as he felt her warm breath on his skin. His body yarned for her gentle touch, every single part of his soul desired just to hold her hand and never let go.
“And what’s t-that?” he stuttered, trying so hard not to stare at her lips and failing miserably.
“Because when we’re gonna be alone to have peace, I’m not gonna be able to keep my hands off of you.” she whispered into his ear, her hand slightly touching his thigh.
•••
“Alright, we were so wrong,” Fred admitted, a playful smirk set on his face, “you may join the big boys now, Y/N!”
A blush crept onto her cheeks at his statement, suddenly feeling like she’s gonna burst with excitement any next second. “I knew it!”
“We’re planning a little something for the next week so join us tomorrow in the library.” George added as he paced from one spot to another, his hair getting into his view.
“Library? I’m surprised you even know what that word means.” Y/N grinned, her eyes full of sparkles. She will fit in just fine, more than just fine actually. If the twins were out of hand before, the trio will cross the unachievable boundaries in no time and Hogwarts was definitely not ready for the Weasley twins combined with another prank mastermind Y/N Y/L/N.
“The lie you said to Ron? About the touching and stuff? You should have seen his face when those words left your mouth!” Fred laughed throwing his arm around her shoulder pulling her closer to him.
“Freddie’s right,” George couldn’t help but giggle as he hugged her from her other side, “you’re evil.”
The common room was filled with their hearty laughter, excitement was basically radiating off the trio, not really paying any attention to another Weasley standing dumbfounded on the stairs that lead to the boys dormitory, staring at them.
“So it wall just a stupid challenge? Like some game with my bloody heart?!” his voice echoed through the room, making the three students stop in their tracks immediately as they all turned to angry Ronald Weasley. His eyes were entirely focused on the only girl there, captivating her in his stare. Y/N wasn’t able to move for one inch, guilt filling her heart when she realized what she had truly done.
“I actually remembered Harry wanted to talk to us, see you two soon!” the twins waved at the two oblivious people, clearly head over heels in love with the other, and quickly stumbled out of the room. Neither did Y/N or Ron look at them leaving and it wasn’t until the doors closed behind the two tall red-heads that Ron made a few long quick steps towards her.
“So was it?” he wasn’t shouting any more, his voice firm, steady and hard.
“No, of course not.” she whispered as she looked at the tip of her shoes trying to avoid his painful stare. This wasn’t what she intended to do.
“Don’t lie to me!”
“I’m not lying to you! If you just let me explain!”
Both of them were breathing hard, their chests rising up and down like after a long run.
“So you could come up with another lie, huh?” he scoffed, shaking with his head in doubt, “some people might actually have feeling, you know!”
Anger was slowly bottling up in her as she realized one important thing. Y/N wasn’t lying before, it was all true. The boy in front of her was so close yet so far away and she wanted nothing more than to fall asleep in his arms that would make her feel like she’s home.
“Maybe I wasn’t actually bloody lying to you, Ronald! Don’t you dare talk about some feelings to me when I’ve been trying to show you just how much I admire and like you while you’ve spending all your time with Hermione!”
Y/N took a deep breath as she continued. She kept it all inside for too long, it was like with every other word she gained more confidence. “I don’t blame you, Hermione is an amazing girl but stop putting all of the blame on me when clearly it’s also your fault!”
As the confession rolled over her tongue, Ron finally calmed himself down, realizing what a stupid thing he’d done. He watched Y/N’s rosy lips move and he suddenly had to fight a strong urge not to embrace her in his arms kissing her like there’s no tomorrow.
“You like me?” he breathed out, not really believing what his long-time crush just said right into his face.
“Yes,” she smiled sweetly, “very very much.”
“Well, I might like you very very much too.”
“You might? You better get your things straight, Weasley.”
“Alright, I like you very very much, Y/L/N.”
“That’s more like it.”

how i’d rewrite v3
warning: long post
chapter 1:
everything is essentially the same with one key difference
when voting ends, shuuichi is revealed to have abstained, leading to his death alongside kaede’s
thus resulting in a double protag switch, with kiibo becoming the protag
chapter 1 results in three deaths
this establishes the arc number, makes things interesting by killing off three of the seemingly most important characters, and gives leeway for the rest of the cast to shine
chapter 2:
the motive is the same, and maki gets hoshi’s tape
however, maki refuses to trade with him and he gets angry about it
because he’s always wanted to feel like he was worth something, and there’s someone standing in the way of letting him know if there’s anything outside waiting for him, he kills maki
however, after that, he watches his tape and realizes that he’s completely alone
he leaves the crime scene as is, and kokichi tries to throw the trial because he has maki’s tape and has revealed her as the SHSL assassin
kokichi attempts to make it be that maki committed suicide as a means of escaping her past, but he also posits that maybe she was framing hoshi since he was already a convicted murderer
hoshi, having nothing left to live for, confesses, and kokichi gets angry, citing that it would have been so much more interesting if he had fought his fate
maki and hoshi die in a fiercely antagonistic, ultimately self-destructive mess
chapter 3:
there’s a similar motive, and it’s established that there was a pair of relatives in the cast, but one of them is dead
miu has already cemented herself as being pretty isolated from the rest of the group, and people suspect that she and kaede were twins, based on them knowing that kaede had a twin sister
other guesses include rantarou being related to tenko or kirumi, and shuuichi being related to korekiyo or tsumugi
angie decides to hold a seance so that they can figure it out and reunite them
himiko offers to help and it’s during the seance that himiko is killed
this is a 1 victim chapter, subverting the expectation, and also making sense since 3 people died in chapter 1
during the trial, people start to suspect miu, but korekiyo starts acting weird
korekiyo has a meltdown completely out of nowhere, and believes himself to be possessed by the spirit of shuuichi
he reveals that shuuichi was his brother, and that he was vengeful towards the group for not stopping the killing game (making his, kaede’s, and rantarou’s sacrifices be in vain)
he also claims that shuuichi was trying to target the mastermind, but when himiko volunteered herself to help, he ended up killing her instead
korekiyo is voted, despite a couple people claiming that shuuichi would be the true culprit
korekiyo is executed, and in retaliation for monodam having killed monokid and monosuke during the prior executions, monotaro and monophanie kill him
chapter 4:
virtual reality is still part of the motive
angie has a breakdown, having lost the one person that was most receptive to her teachings about atua
miu and tsumugi are shown to be very close after the last few chapters due to their self-isolated nature
angie snaps and tries to kill miu, but tsumugi steps in in her place, killing angie as defense
the world glitches, and miu goes missing for a bit, leading people to believe that she was the victim
when they get out of the game, miu is still alive, and so people believe her to be the murderer
it’s revealed that miu caused the glitch in order to save tsumugi
kokichi’s been part of this too, having noticed how close they were and putting pieces together, as well as eavesdropping and coercing info out of miu
kokichi ouma, revealed as a magnificent bastard
miu begs everyone to vote for her, but tsumugi confesses, and she is executed
during tsumugi’s execution, monotaro seems like he’ll be next to die, but monophanie sacrifices herself for him, in line with this chapter’s theme
after this trial, miu and tenko start hanging out, having lost their closest friends (tsumugi and himiko respectively)
chapter 5:
everybody hates ouma: the musical
after it was revealed that he manipulated the events of both chapter 2 and chapter 4, literally everybody suspects him of being the mastermind, or at least a traitor of some sort
he decides to try and enlist miu to help hack into kiibo to make him a minion of his
miu goes along with it, thanks to some masterful manipulation tactics on ouma’s end (he’s good with words, the shit)
kiibo’s software goes blank for a bit, but he eventually gets better thanks to an unforeseen software update
(during the time that kiibo’s offline, we play briefly as the other cast, who are all either preparing to confront or already confronting ouma by this point)
ouma is also shown to be causing injuries to himself, hoping to die by his own hand and cause a trial where nobody knows the real killer, taking everyone with him because they’re all so bad at playing the game
ouma is the victim and nobody knows who killed him, not even monokuma
everyone is hesitant to admit that they confronted him, but only gonta, kaito, and tenko confess to having fought him physically
miu and kiibo work together to reveal that kiibo was still recording during the time he was offline, and they show ouma inflicting injuries to himself
everyone believes that ouma committed suicide, but just before everyone goes to vote, gonta confesses
gonta delivered the killing blow accidentally, not realizing his own strength
over the course of the game, gonta and kiibo had gotten close, and gonta got so angry seeing kiibo malfunctioning that he killed ouma on accident
tenko and kaito both then claim that they killed him, not wanting gonta to die
kiibo has to convince them that voting for gonta is the right thing to do
gonta is executed, and it seems like monotaro is safe, but right at the end of gonta’s execution, monotaro commits suicide
chapter 6:
after talking to monokuma during the previous trial about rules and what to do if the results of a trial were unclear or ambiguous, they realize that the mastermind broke a rule back in chapter 1
the rule being that someone killing more than 2 people isn’t allowed
when kiibo’s attempting to find out who the mastermind could be alongside kirumi, miu, tenko, and kaito, they are given class files for each student
nowhere in either korekiyo or shuuichi’s files do they mention a brother, while in kaede’s, her twin sister is mentioned
after gathering evidence and demanding a retrial of the first case, kiibo confronts monokuma, believing that korekiyo is the mastermind, having hidden his death after causing the deaths of kaede, rantarou, shuuichi, and himiko
it’s revealed that shuuichi was actually the one faking his death, and that he is the mastermind of the killing game
danganronpa is still a show, but shuuichi passes it off as an experimental documentary on how people can be forced to kill, based on a real life set of video games
he confesses that he fabricated his relation to korekiyo, but that it worked well, as korekiyo was a traitor, having worked with shuuichi on his experiment
he also reveals that kiibo was made solely for the experiment, as a camera and an audience surrogate, making him essentially a conduit for amateur sleuths to solve real life murders on TV
this breaks kiibo and we play as the other four survivors to help him
it’s revealed that the show technically hasn’t even aired, and that shuuichi was planning on killing all of them in order to survive to share his findings with the world
shuuichi is thwarted, and the survivors all agree to die alongside him if it means destroying the video
kiibo initiates self-destruct, but after seeing that the others are safe in a bunker, accepts his death and kills himself alongside shuuichi
epilogue:
the survivors are kaito, tenko, miu, and kirumi, subverting the theme number of 3
it’s revealed that rantarou had memories of surviving two other experiments led by shuuichi, explaining the v3 -- this was the 3rd version of his game
the footage is destroyed, and the four survivors walk away from the rubble, unsure of how to assimilate back into society having pretended that nothing happened

Accidental Confessions
pairing: Todoroki x fem reader
word count: 1.5k
_____________________________________
You don’t remember when you first fell in love with Shoto Todoroki, but you did you know it’s been a long ass time. However, the joys of your ‘secret infatuation ’ were soon going to end.
Everything about him made your heart beat a little bit faster, made your cheeks that little bit pinker. Everyday, you’d sit at your desk, just trying to stop your eyes from drifting over to him. Occasionally, your eyes would meet, which would cause you to practically combust, immediately looking at whatever crap was on your desk. [Little did you notice how his gaze would rest on you for a couple seconds longer.]
You've always liked him from a distance, never getting too close, never letting your hopes get too high, but someone was about to ruin that for you...
The bell rang, waking you up from your daydream as you shot up out of your desk. While you made your way down to the cafeteria, a familiar scent caught your attention. Shoto’s cologne, warm and expensive. It wasn’t strong, but it was distinct, you knew it was him. Shoto always walked behind you when you went for lunch. You didn’t think anything of it. You picked up your food and headed to the table where Ochako and Tsuyu were sitting. Izuku and Tenya were absorbed in a deep conversation, discussing something you weren’t bothered to understand. Shoto sat down beside you, as he did everyday without fail. Something you had always written off as a coincidence, something you always tried not to make a big deal out of, no matter how much you wanted to.
His presence beside you made you warm. Butterflies grew in your stomach as you glanced over at him.
“I don’t think that’s how it works.” He chimed into the conversation.
Whenever he spoke, everyone listened. Whenever you heard his voice, your heartstrings would play a melody as the butterflies would dance, only growing even more.
You were just about to eat when you noticed a pile of soba noodles now resting on the side of your plate. You looked up at Shoto, almost as to ask why, but he just kept eating. He did that every now and then, offer you some of his food, hand you an energy drink after training. But still, you knew better than to get your hopes up. [Little did you see the slightest smile grow on his face as you tucked into the noodles.]
As per usual, you all headed back to class to spend the last 10 minutes of break relaxing. Until you heard your name mentioned…
“Did you notice Todoroki acting all heroic yesterday saving y/n…” Bakugo laughed, arms crossed, face smug.
Yesterday, a group of villains had appeared while on a class trip. Everyone was separated. You were in a group with Iida, Shoto and Sero. You were running to help guide civilians safely away when you fell, gliding across the rough tarmac. And in that split second, while your back was turned, the villain saw an opening. One of his hands holding a knife, stretched out, aiming for you.
Shoto noticed, and couldn’t stop himself from freezing villain solid (at the sight of him attacking you). He ensured the civilians’ safety while protecting you in the process, however it wasn’t exactly the best way to go about it and definitely not like Todoroki to be that impulsive. There was a better way to stop the villain, a safer way, but Todoroki just couldn’t stop the ice from building
Strangely no one had mentioned the event, until now.
You glanced over at Shoto, but he seemed to have ignored his words, too engrossed in his book. But once Bakugo brought up the subject, everyone started talking about the incident.
Kirishima’s voice piped up, “Yeah actually, don’t you think Todoroki has been acting kind of weird lately…”
“Yeah he’s been all flustered but he’s normally so composed.” Ashido adds, and soon, the whole class isn’t talking about the event, but Shoto’s strange behaviour.
You never even noticed he’d been acting strange, despite you being the one to pay the most attention to him.
“Well obviously it’s because he likes y/n.” Denki says, although not realising how loud he said it, and the whole class falls silent
Shoto is now a bright red colour. Unable to move. Not daring to look up despite everyone’s eyes glued to him. You’ve never seen him like this. So affected by someone’s words.
But you didn’t have time to think about that, let alone digest Denki’s words. Did you hear him correctly, you couldn’t have, if it was true, how could you not even notice. How was this possible.
You could feel your cheeks burning, the butterflies growing, your heart almost beating out of your chest. Your mind was frantically going over all your interactions together, but you still couldn’t grasp it. Yet hearing those words, almost made you melt, even if they weren’t from him. Just hearing the one thing that’s been constantly on your mind, out loud, warmed your heart. A small smile tugged at your lips.
Meanwhile, everyone is shook. Like their mouths open, agape, speechless. It was like as if they heard Bakugo had apologised for something. The last person they would’ve guessed to have ~heart eyes~ was Todoroki. His calm demeanour, his nonchalant attitude, they couldn’t imagine him being in love.
Everyone’s eyes turn to Denki.
“Denki are you sure you didn’t electrocute something earlier…” Bakugo says.
Denki is looking around, suddenly dumbfounded. He thought this was common knowledge. That everyone was aware of it but just didn’t talk about it in case you heard. You were just as clueless as Shoto, so it didn’t surprise him you hadn’t figured it out by now.
In response, Denki points to Shoto, who has now reduced to a bright pink, blushing statue of embarrassment, internally freaking out and regretting every decision he’s ever made.
And at that, Denki rests his case and sits down, going back doodling on the side of his notebook.
Murmurs start growing louder.
You can hear your name in multiple different conversations.
“Wait, does that mean you all didn’t know she likes him back either?”
Your heart dropped.
Your breath quickening.
Your eyes are now on Denki (who you could literally strangle right now), who’s standing up once more with a confused look on his face.
“You serious?” Kirishma responds, and internally Denki is like ‘are you all blind, they literally flirt with each other all the time…’
Just at that moment, while everyone is in utter and complete shock for the second time today, Mr.Aizawa comes in to put you out of your misery.
—
( After class )
You ran out of that class as fast as possible, avoiding everyone’s questions and stares. A burst of fresh air calms you as you walk outside. You couldn’t focus, Denki’s words ringing in your ears every second of that class, even now. You couldn’t imagine Shoto’s reaction, what is he thinking, what will he do; will he ignore you, pretend it didn’t happen-
You smell something, and your heart almost leaps out of your chest.
Shoto’s cologne.
“Can we talk?” His voice calm.
You turn around to him. His hair disheveled, his eyes heavy with lack of sleep. Something pulling at your seams as you look at him, making you want to just crash into his arms. Your eyes glide over his mouth, thinking how easy would it be to press your lips against his. You felt vulnerable, now that your secret was exposed, you felt needy.
“Of course.” you offer him a smile.
“It’s true. What Denki said, what everyone’s saying. It’s true. I like you y/n.”
He looks at the ground, his foot tapping awkwardly which you find adorable. Your heart begins to swell and you can’t stop a smile from forming.
“I like you too, Shoto.”
His eyes once again find yours, a childish grin on his face as he walks closer to you.
“I like you too y/n.”
“You already said that Sho.” You laugh at him, but he just looks at you with a confused pouty face.
“But that doesn’t mean I can’t say it again?”
Shoto and you walk back to the dorm together (taking the long route), the two of you unable to stop smiling. It’s not awkward at all, the conversation flows easy, and honestly you never want it to end. You never want to stop looking into his eyes, to stop listening to him talk about the book he was just reading or the villain he was fighting. You only just said ‘i like you’ but you never want to say goodbye. Once you reach the dorm, he makes sure your knees (that you scraped yesterday while falling) are treated and patched up.
You take a deep breath and walk into the dorm together,
and of course, just as expected, it’s c h a o s, everyone is asking what happened, what’s the deal, was Denki right, the room is filled with noise and laughter
and you’re happy, because Shoto is right there by your side. (despite the fact that Denki was the match maker/mastermind/ruined your whole plan of actually confessing to Sho <3)

“Hyung! ______-noona is here!” A kid who opened the door for you announced your arrival rather loudly, recognizing him as one of Jungkook’s cousins. You pushed through inside the nostalgic interior of the Jeon’s household. Nothing much has changed in the past two years.
Soon after, Jungkook appeared from the doorway you remember as the door leading to the kitchen. He’s decently dressed and when you say decent, you meant he’s not in his usual attire of anything black and over-sized. Nonetheless, he’s handsome as ever. You’re not gonna deny the fact.
“Hey!” He greets, face lighting up at the sight of you, biting back a smirk as he skims the length of you adorning a cute, yellow dress. He glances down at your hand holding a gift-wrapped present for his mom before draping an arm over your shoulders.
He feigns a frown, “You shouldn’t have bothered. Mom will appreciate you making it on her birthday.”
“Well, unlike someone I know, I’m thoughtful enough to prepare something for Auntie.” You tease, knowing he possibly bought nothing for his mom.
He scoffs, only proving your assumption right. “Yah! Don’t sound too enthusiastic, I’m the son here.”
“So what? I’m your mom’s favorite!” You retorted back.
“No you aren’t!” He snapped, while his mouth unconsciously juts forward in defeat.
Your eyebrow arches. “Is that a challenge I hear?”
Jungkook nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders. “Forget the competition. We’re here to make my mom happy.” He quickly dismisses, distracting you as he leads you straight to the garden area which you could already see where the guests are gathered through the glass doors.
As expected, the said small party looks simply classic with a touch of Mrs. Jeon’s sophisticated taste. Average-sized square wooden tables are neatly scattered in the expanse of the garden with uniform vintage table setting that coordinates well with the floral decorations in the vicinity. In front, a makeshift platform was made behind a decorated linen with pinned letters “Happy Birthday Mom!” Behind all the tables is where the buffet table was placed.
You’re actually relieved that your simple puff sleeve dress matches with the theme of the party, forgetting the guilt of having to wear the dress without borrowing it from your sister.
Mrs. Jeon was happily chatting with her guests but when the sliding door breaks open revealing you tucked under Jungkook’s arm, the present smile on her face stretches wide and immediately shuffled towards you and Jungkook’s way.
Mrs. Jeon audibly gushes just as you handed your gift and welcomed you with a warm, tight hug. “Thank you, dear.”
Jungkook took it as his cue to leave you two for a second.
When she draws back, she appreciatively give you a once over. “Oh, you look so lovely on your dress!” Mrs. Jeon clapped her hands. You smiled shyly in return.
“Thank you for coming, dear. It’s been ages since the last time I’ve seen you. Come here and get some food.” She says.
It’s true. After you’ve been in college two years ago, you’ve hardly stayed in your hometown for more than two weeks, hence, you couldn’t squeeze your time here to pay the Jeons a visit. Mrs. Jeon became your guardian whenever your parents were in business trips back in the days, and during the times of your stay at their house, you’ve grown much closer to her just like your second mom.
By the time you reach the buffet table, Mrs. Jeon caught Jungkook in the act of getting a piece of sushi straight from the chafing dish, and his poor soon right away earned a whack on his arm from his mom.
“Use the tongs!” She reproaches which made him flinches dramatically.
Such a baby.
You bit back a chuckle as Mrs. Jeon went on with “Go to the kitchen and refill the dispenser!” Jungkook pouts but obeys his mom without complaining. However, he made sure to shoot a fake glare at you before he disappears from the doorway.
Mrs. Jeon then handed you an empty plate. “Here, ______. I know you like pasta.”
Your eyes widened a little. Perhaps, you have not recovered from the surprise painted on your expression, hearing it come from her that she caught a glimpse of your slight shock state. Why should you be surprised when Jungkook knows it as well? He might have told her or something.
“Oh don’t be surprised, dear. My boy always asks me to cook pasta whenever you come around.”
Isn’t it his favorite food? “It’s… his favorite... right?” You began but ended up questioning the validity of your knowledge.
She laughs, “You know he could eat anything edible but cannot live without his portion of meat every day.”
“Oh.” It was only that moment it registered to you. His mom is right. He’d always make it a point to consume all your stocks of meat whenever he shows up in your dorm in the most unexpected days. His university is not too far away from yours. Yet, this guy thinks it’s worth the two-hour drive just to get to your dorm and pester the shit out of you.
“I’m so happy you’re able to make it on my birthday. Will you stay in town for the rest of your break?”
“Uhh… I was supposed to focus on saving up through my part time jobs this summer but my mom threatened to disown me if I don’t stay here during summer break.”
“Oh she’s being reasonable, honey. Believe me, I’d do the same thing if Jungkook refuses to go home at least once a month, unless of course, if he runs off with you.” She remarks in a teasing manner, earning a profuse blush to appear on your cheeks so abruptly.
Since you left home for uni, you actually believe Mrs. Jeon had forgotten about your shared interactions back then. Yet, here she is, still having faith that his son has actual feelings for you. She told you many times that she’d want a daughter like you or, at least, be her in-law. She always regarded it in a playful tone so you used to get mixed signals whether she was really serious or not. But then, you’d say the overused line: “we’re only friends”. She would then give you a knowing look and insisted that she knows her son well. Fortunately for you, she made it a point to only tease you whenever Jungkook was out of earshot.
By the time Jungkook came back a few moments later, you’re already seated in a vacant table at the farthest back. Jungkook occupied the seat next to yours, taking notice of the half-finished food on your plate.
“What time are you leaving?” He asks the moment he plopped down the chair. Your head cocked to the side to meet his gaze.
“Are you trying to make me leave early?” You prompted suspiciously.
He rolls his eyes. “I’m gonna drive you home, idiot.”
“Well, you don’t have to. I can… walk.”
“It’s not like I have a choice.” He mutters under his breath.
Your eyebrows quirked but you spoke no more. He lifted his shoulders in a nonchalant shrug. Did he mean his mom will force him to drop you off at your house just like the old times?
As the night progresses, the small celebration has pumped up with lively cheers from their relatives, incited by the impromptu program prepared by Jungkook’s cousins which was mostly filled with fun games. At some point of the said program, a small commotion on the side of the makeshift platform started to build up. The next thing you know, his cousin, the mastermind behind the entertainment portion of the party, caught yours and Jungkook’s attention when she announced his sudden participation in the program through a performance.
“Our boy Kookie here recently recorded a cover and he’s here to perform the live version and showcase his talent to our dear guests. Everyone, let’s welcome our very own Jeon Jungkook onto the stage!” His cousin enthusiastically says through the microphone. On cue, everyone in the garden, particularly his cousins, roared in earsplitting screams of cheer.
He blinks, completely perplexed. He was not given a heads up prior, much less told that he would perform a song in front of an audience. Hesitant due to his nerves, he backed away subtly just as he reaches the side of the supposed stage. However, his cousin caught up with his attempt and pushed him not too gently toward the platform, and even placed the microphone stand in front of him, giving him no room to say no. The expectant look of his relatives left him no choice but to just— his eyes suddenly caught your figure at the back when you stood up and went to the buffet table.
His heart thuds so hard against his rib cage that he’s afraid everyone can hear it through the mic, including you. He’s sure he’s as white as a paper by now more so that his nerves are getting the worst of him.
That song is not just any song he simply did a cover of. It was the song he meant to sing for you when the right time has come, when he’s ready to pour his heart out to you.
He sucked a deep breath once more, and slowly breathed out once more. Instinctively, his eyes fluttered closed when he heard the music began playing.
Ready or not, it’s now or never.
Do you love the rain? Does it make you dance
When you're drunk with your friends at a party?
At the sound of his voice filling the air of the summer night, you spun back around to face him. That’s how he missed the look on your face just as how you missed the chaotic cheering of his cousins as they piled up to the side of the platform.
What's your favorite song? Does it make you smile?
Do you think of me?
Hearing the beautiful lyrics wholeheartedly sang by Jungkook, the same one who stole your heart a long time ago, you couldn’t control your heart as it started racing so wildly, tiny specs of heat slowly spreading in your chest. Thoughts began to swirl in your mind – giving you the anticipation. The possibility. The potential love affair. That the friendship would develop into something more.
Before the next verse comes, Jungkook peeled his eyes open, however, he didn’t expect to see you awestruck there across his line of vision from the back, and meeting your expressive eyes. If he didn’t know better, he would have mistaken the glint in your eyes for something else.
Maybe just… maybe you like him too.
When you close your eyes
Tell me what are you dreaming?
Everything, I wanna know it all
You look so beautiful. That the thought of you alone could easily make his heartstrings twist so cruelly in his chest. Oh how he wishes you’d let him spoil you the way he’s been dying to. He’d be the luckiest man to ever live to have you as his girlfriend.
Jungkook didn’t know how he managed to put up the courage to return your gaze, never have you looked at him the way your pretty eyes are staring back at him now with the genuine fondness in them. Somehow, as he gets lost to his emotions, he suddenly couldn’t find the strength in him to take his eyes off of you.
I'd spend 10,000 hours and 10,000 more
Oh, if that's what it takes to learn that sweet heart of yours
Butterflies erupt crazily in your stomach, goosebumps start to appear on your skin and your cheeks heat up as he held you captive under his wistful stare. The longingness and the passion they hold, the twinkle of his orbs as his doe-like eyes are digging straight to your soul, what it is all for?
And I might never get there but I'm gonna try
If it's 10,000 hours or the rest of my life
I'm gonna love you
He’s always been a constant figure in your life since the moment you two became friends. He didn’t miss any important celebrations that involves you since then. And even though Jungkook has been vocal about being overprotective of you dating guys he didn’t know, none of you ever tried to address anything remotely related to romantic love. It gave you the temporary relief, because you’ve been pushing your feelings back in the depths of your heart since the moment you realized you’ve fallen in love with him.
You never had the guts to test the theory, but leaving wondering what if… When have you visited the thought, again? You have long disregarded the possibility because you believed he loves you like his sister. Nevertheless, you’re lucky to have met him and be the only constant in your life.
Do you miss the road that you grew up on?
Did you get your middle name from your grandma?
When you think about your forever now
Do you think of me?
Jungkook’s face stretches in a subtle smile, forgetting about his nerves, his sweaty palms and the guests who kept looking back and forth between him and you in curiosity while he seems magnetized at his view. You.
When you close your eyes
Tell me what are you dreaming?
Everything, I wanna know it all
You smiled, recalling the times you two were inseparable. The times he let you cry on his shoulder, when he used to help you sneak out in the middle of the night, be your chaperone, witnessed you getting drunk for the first time in your life and even that one time a senior stole your first kiss. It was the first time you saw Jungkook that angry, beating the shit out of a poor guy two years ahead of us over a single peck. Your memories with him didnt end in high school for he didn’t stop making efforts to see you, regularly visiting you frequent enough that he’d made himself home at your place.
Ooh, want the good and the bad
Everything in between
Ooh, gotta cure my curiosity
In the midst of serenading you, he recollects the memories he shared with you. The day you two were introduced to each other was still as good as new in his memory bank, or the times that you encouraged him to push through to audition to his dream role that you even learned to play his audition piece just so he could practice with you every day after school. His basketball games with you as his personal cheerleader, the times that he couldn’t hide his jealousy when you dated someone else, the immature fights that always led him to drink his heart out as if you two had broken up, and you nursing him back to sobriety. When you two were separated in college, he’d always make a way to bother you whenever he’s drunk and you’d end up going to his place and ceaselessly irk him while he rotted from hangover.
His angelic voice singing the rest of the song lulls you further into your thoughts, gathering each memory like a missing piece in the puzzle. Why didn’t you see all the signs back then? Were you blinded by your then-infatuation over him that you failed to hint his own feelings? He never gave you a reason to make you think he likes you more than a friend nor tried to hide anything from you, right?
Shortly afterwards, you were pulled back into the reality when you hear the cheers of the guests, signaling the end of Jungkook’s performance. Your eyes silently follow him as he sheepishly walk out of the platform, going onto the same path he took before.
Jungkook didn’t meet your gaze as he strutted toward the ice cooler on the side of the buffet table to get a bottle of alcohol which is just a few steps away from you. Twisting open its cap with such urgency, he took a long swig from the bottle to calm his traitor nerves, then pretends to busy himself on the variety of food laid on the table while feeling the weight of your stare on his back. Nervous that you understood the purpose behind his impromptu performance and that your silence was your hint of your rejection to his feelings, he didn’t try to talk it out to you the entire night. Yet, he feigned indifference when he sat on the same chair in the table next to you.
As the rest of the night rolls, the tension undeniably grows in between you two. Yet bearable enough to have you two stay glued on your seats despite the countless times you caught him staring at you, or you at him all throughout the night.
None of you dared break the silence and somehow, along the way, the tension has particularly become unbearable inside the car while he drove you home. Your house was just two blocks away and you bet it would take him faster to get there should he not intentionally slow down his driving with only a hand on a steering wheel while the other rested on the open window of his door as his fingers anxiously pinch his lips.
You chose to break the tension, feeling the need to speak up before your heart bursts out of your chest. And the moment you did, Jungkook coincidentally started to talk too.
“So…”
“About that…”
You met his eyes when your head jerked to the side to peer at him.
“What?” You immediately ask, curious to know what he would want to say after that, his heartfelt singing.
“Uh—“ He drawls, suddenly losing the words he was supposed to utter the second he made an eye contact with you. He shifts his eyes back to the road, feeling himself cower under the weight of your stare.
He clears his throat, putting up a pretense of a courage. “What do you think of... my performance?”
There was a moment of dead air inside before you manage to form an answer. “It was beautiful… I like it. You know I’m in love with y-you– I mean your voice. I love your voice.” You laugh awkwardly, while you’re incoherently screaming in your head at your almost slipped up.
Jungkook’s face flushes and he could already visualize the sudden boost of serotonin in his system hearing the validation he needs the most, the one coming from you. “Thank you.” He mumbles shyly.
It was that moment when the car arrives in front of your house. You shoot him a look, said your thanks and bid him goodbye before you climbed out of the car. You couldn’t deny the disappointment that was rushing so abruptly into you while you pad the distance across the gate of the house. For the nth time, you have hoped for something that was not even real to begin with.
However, your heart jumped out of almost joy when you heard Jungkook’s voice call your name out just as you’re about to close the fence gate.
“What’s up?”
“Okay before I tell you something, do you promise to remain best friends with me if… if you don’t… if somehow… oh god whatever— just promise me!” He panics, making you frown in return.
“I-I promise?” You say in an uncertain tone.
Jungkook held his pinky out.
“Pinky swear?” He prompts. You raise an eyebrow but let him hook your pinky finger with his to seal the promise of a lifetime friendship.
“What is it?” You say in the most gentle way possible. If this is the moment you’ve been dreaming to happen since you were in high school, you have to encourage him to talk before you could stop yourself from advancing to his personal space just to kiss him without any further ado.
“_____I-I tried my best not to… n-not to see you in a different way. But god you’re always making it difficult for me to forget about it when you keep giving me reasons to want things I shouldn’t have–”
“Jungkook–”
“Please, let me finish before my legs give out.”
You chuckle all the while your vision blurs from the moisture in your eyes. The anxiety on his face gradually dissolves into relief when he saw the smile creeping into your face.
“I can’t keep dating anyone and pretending they’re better than you. I’m an idiot, I know. But it’s always been you, ______. It’s you that I want and I can’t possibly live this life without you–“ You didn’t let him finish when he finally said the words you have longed to hear for years. You lean in to touch his soft, inviting lips with your own.
Jungkook staggered back at the suddenness of your move. Once he had recovered from shock, he cupped your jaw to deepen the kiss. He sighed against your supple lips. And for the first time since he has nurtured his feelings for you, the weight in his chest has been lifted off, replacing it with warmth and relief that only you could bring in his longing heart.

Hi! Could I request the V3 boys reactions to their s/o becoming the blackened because they were trying to save them.
Yesssss more angst! These were fun to write!
TWs: Blood, Death, Suicide Mentions, and Major DRV3 Spoilers
..............
Ryoma
No..it couldn’t be true..could it?
Ryoma couldn’t believe you’d actually kill someone, though your reason came as a shock: It was to save his life.
Kirumi was plotting to murder him after the second motive came out. And she obviously panicked when you showed up instead of him, so she tried attacking you.
But you retaliated, leaving her body in the bathroom and altering the crime scene to make it look like she slipped while cleaning it.
You didn’t want to kill anyone, but you were terrified she might target him some other time if you didn’t stop her.
Yet Ryoma vehemently denied you did anything, arguing with Shuichi up until he pointed out incriminating evidence.
He was crushed, knowing he’s going to lose another loved one.
He can’t understand why a criminal like him was worth saving.
But the deed was done. And as your final wish before being executed, you plead for him to survive and see that life’s worth it.
While he’s never been good with promises, he’ll try to keep this last one...for your sake.
Shuichi
He learned the truth earlier than anyone else.
Someone knew he was too smart, always leading the trials and making the swift deductions.
So they believed eliminating him would guarantee them escape from the academy, as everyone would arrive to wrong conclusions without him.
However you put a stop to their plot, accidentally killing them with their own weapon they prepared.
Shuichi didn’t want it to be you--not you, of all people--so he’s far more reluctant to accuse you of murder.
He’s pretty much mute throughout the trial, but you take notice fast and see him slipping back into that cowardly detective persona.
“Shuichi, don’t you dare go back into hiding. Don’t you dare look away from the truth again.”
“..but...”
He just absolutely refuses to. He can’t....not this time.
So instead, you reveal the truth about your crime. Every last detail--from when the motive came out to how you disposed of the evidence.
By the end of your explanation, he’s in tears--realizing you saved his life..in exchange for your own.
Every night since then, he cries as he hugs the Helping Yacchi plush you gave him the day before the body was discovered.
It hurt so much to condemn you, someone he truly loved.
Kokichi
You learned very quickly that Miu was plotting to kill Kokichi, after noticing her put a bottle of poison in his seat before returning to hers and logging in.
That made you livid. But more scared than anything else.
So you formulated a plan after learning everything (or almost everything) about the virtual world.
You overheard Miu and Kokichi planning to meet on the mansion rooftop, and you didn’t like that idea one bit.
Little did you know, he and Gonta were conspiring to murder her, too, but you beat them to the punch.
Obviously he was pissed someone foiled his plans....but imagine his shock when it turned out to be you.
The two were suspects for a long time as they explained the “Killing Game Busters” scheme.
But since Miu died by your hands--their names were cleared.
Kokichi was in frustrated tears, yelling at you for not telling him sooner.
But he ultimately breaks down when your punishment was announced.
He clings to you, crying and begging you not to leave him--he even pleads with Monokuma to let him die with you.
This time it’s not an act.
He feels genuine sorrow and heartache for a long time after the trial.
Gonta
It’d be impossible to think anyone would try to kill him.
But someone tried taking advantage of his gullibility. And you happened to be there at the exact same time, attacking the assailant while your entomologist boyfriend ran off in fear.
You cleaned as much evidence as you could before finding and consoling him, lying that you just talked to them.
He believes you and is relieved---until the body discovery announcement plays later on.
Even though you lied, he doesn’t blame you. Not even during the trial where you made up an alibi.
But when Gonta himself is questioned...he clams up, knowing exactly what happened and being too scared to say the truth.
He doesn’t want to condemn you! Gentlemen don’t-
You reassure him it’s okay. Shuichi has you in a corner and there’s no point in letting the trial drag on.
So he eventually admits what he saw, and he can only cry as he votes you as the Blackened.
You two share one last hug, and he says he’ll never ever call you a killer, thanking you for protecting him even if he failed to protect you.
Korekiyo
It doesn’t come as a surprise that someone would try murdering him. He could see the hatred in their eyes whenever he looked at them.
His menacing appearance seems to be more than enough of a reason to target him.
However, after finding their body and signs of a struggle surrounding the crime scene, he arrives to the conclusion that the culprit knew he was in danger and killed to protect him.
Ah...how beautiful that realization was.
Or so he thought.
When it’s revealed you carried out that deed, using his golden sword to swiftly kill the victim, his heart is completely shattered.
‘No..no, no, no, no, no!!’
He feels anger, sorrow, confusion, and..so many other unpleasant things at once as you confess to the crime.
Not even Sister calms him down. He becomes belligerent, trying to steer everyone away from the truth and claim he killed the victim in self-defense.
You have to step off your podium to console him, as he was screaming his head off and scaring everyone.
When the trial is over, he just holds you close, begging Monokuma not to take you--his one true love--away from him.
But alas, it’s all for nothing as you’re sentenced to your execution.
Though you remind Korekiyo of what he’s taught you about death, as you didn’t fear it, and you promise you’ll watch over him in the afterlife.
Kaito
He’s incredibly outraged when everyone suspects you as the culprit in spite of the evidence that piles up.
“Shuichi, you're not actually gonna believe their crap, right?! Stop screwing around--!”
“He’s not, Kaito. It's the truth."
Stunned, he looks at you. Since your podium was conveniently next to his, he didn’t have to look far to see the guilt in your eyes.
Learning your motivation, however, is what ultimately crushed him.
You killed...to protect him?
No..
That couldn’t be right! He was suppose to protect you! Didn’t he always tell you how killing was wrong and-?!
But the truth was you did try talking some sense into the victim...but they attacked you instead, and you retaliated in self-defense. So it was purely accidental.
Kaito is pissed when Monokuma jests that “murder is murder” no matter what and he actually tries fighting the Exisals.
You insist he doesn’t interfere, and plead for him to use that strength to help protect everyone else instead.
His spirit is broken for a while, but...he’ll recover and keep fighting on. For your sake.
K1B0
Something in you snapped when you overheard Kokichi taunt your robot boyfriend for the last time, actually hurting him physically as well as emotionally.
K1B0 went to you in tears, not understanding why he hated him so much.
After comforting him, you’ve finally had enough. You were sick of him being harassed nonstop.
So you sent him to see Miu while you met with Kokichi to “talk”.
While the Ultimate Supreme Leader seemed suspicious, he let his guard down...sealing his fate as you strangled him with his own scarf.
Then you inflicted numerous wounds on his corpse to disguise the true cause of death.
But when the truth was revealed, K1B0 was in total shock at your motive.
He couldn’t believe you’d do something so barbaric.
Even if Kokichi bullied him relentlessly, there’s no reason you had to go as far as murder him!
However he understands anger can be a powerful emotion--one that throws any and all sense of logic out the window.
Still..it hurt to watch you get executed. He went into shutdown for the rest of the day/night.
And here he was, thinking you two had finally torn down the wall of “forbidden love” between human and robot for good.
Rantaro
You managed to kill Tsumugi before she had a chance to murder Rantaro and Kaede’s final part of her plan went into motion.
The shot put ball’s sudden appearance startled him into forgetting about the hidden room and running out of the library..
And up the stairs as the obnoxious music stops and one of the girls yelled for everyone to come into the bathroom--where Tsumugi’s body was.
At that point, the game should’ve ended since you actually killed the mastermind.
But of course, Team Danganronpa had backup plans and thus the game kept going.
You had rearranged the crime scene to make it look like a suicide, leading everyone to assume the time limit’s pressures are what killed the cosplayer.
But eventually your crime was unraveled and Rantaro was utterly devastated.
You’re the first Blackened in yet another killing game he was forced to participate in.
You only killed Tsumugi because you found it suspicious she suddenly ran off on her own near the time limit’s end.
In doing so you unknowingly saved Rantaro’s life in exchange for your own.
He was upset you did something so rash when he clearly told everyone not to, but...at the same time he’s grateful to be alive because of you.
He swears your death won’t be in vain. He’s gonna escape this game with everyone else.

The Lost Guardian- Chapter Eight
“Heed the Silenced”
(Authors note: aha.. yknow I should probably stop making promises for this fic. Months later, w/ a chapter that doesn’t have Thomas in it, three different outlines down and i’m really just at the mercy of this fic at this point xD considering midway through writing this chapter I had to cut and rewrite an entire scene i’d spent a month on bc I’d decided that Dee had a chance at redemtion that added an actual direction and a tangable end goal to this story. So. Yeah. And!! A loud Thank You!! to @bumblebeekitten for helping me bounce ideas back & forth for this au and being my beta for this chapter!!)
Character Info & Art:
Patton | Logan | Roman | Virgil | Remy | Deceit | ??? | ???
Chapter Seven | Chapter Nine
Fandom: Thomas Sanders Sides
Pairings: Eventual Polyamsanders (LAMPR/CALMR-a.k.a LAMP/CALM + Remy ‘Sleep’ Sanders)
Warnings: THIS CHAPTER IS KINDA DIALOG HEAVY!(sorry) Currently depicted as morally grey Deceit(subject to change in future chapters), though the side of Deceit from his first appearance doesnt make an appearance in this chapter and it is explained why, mentions of past betrayal and dark descriptions of bodily concepts, curses, limitations, and changes only really explained as possible through the lore of this au. Deceit speaks in riddles because he has to, ominous warnings. Virgil still isn’t okay mentally. Mentions of indifference to death, lack of selfworth or self preservation. (Let me know if I need to add anything!)
Brown eyes flutter open at the chilly breeze of a fan, and the ravenette’s mind comes to realize that he’s been moved from resting on his stomach to laying on his back. Groggy from his much too short nap, it takes a few moments to realize there are no warm bodies near him or under him, no breathing or chatter of familiar voices to sooth him.
The room, he realizes, is empty.
The room itself is, in fact, not Remy’s bedroom at all.
Shooting straight up, Virgil’s first clear thought is that he’s back at home. At his apartment, this time in his hoodie yet still roughed up from his latest ‘adventure’. The scene is eerily familiar, and yet he knows this time that work is not where he needs to be. It’s already daylight and his mind now knows this familiar scene, he should feel alone. Yet, this time he can hear the sound of honking cars and people, his loud neighbor from upstairs stomping around.
It doesn’t make sense as he walks to his window and peers out to see vague cars and people, he can’t even seem to make out any individual faces. It’s grey and raining outside, but there is no pattering sound against the foggy window. ‘What’s happening?’ Virgil wonders.
“Life seemed so simple a week ago, even months ago, did it not..?” A familiar voice drifts from behind him. Ice cold fear shoots down the ravenette’s spine as he recognizes the voice.
“I can hardly believe you were able to leave it, your routine. It was your everything, back when you came to terms with what you had left. Am I wrong, Virgil?” Whirling around to face the voice, Virgil finds the terrifying ex-Guardian sitting on his couch looking quite at home, if a little sheepish.
“What do you care?” He spat back, stepping back against his window.
“I am only looking out for you, you know. I have been protecting you all your life. Of all people I think I would know what is best for you, don't you think? We are connected after all, you and I.” The man sighed, making a surrendering motion with his hands.
“Why would I trust you?! You tried to kill me yesterday!” Virgil growled. “Why--h-how are you even here!?”
“False, my dear Virgil. I tried to warn you. Sure,” The guardian rolled his hand as he spoke, “I am forced to have a round-about way of speaking my truths, it is just part of my consequences it seems. But how else was I going to get you to listen to me after the others fed you lies about me? I do sincerely apologize for my other half being rough, though. I cannot quite.. Control.. Him.” The guardian tilted his bowler hat down to guiltily hide his eyes, regret briefly twisting his expression.
Finally the Guardian stood, dusting himself off as if his immaculate attire had acquired dust from just existing in his apartment. “I needed my physical body to reach yours and make our soul connection strong again, so that my soul could reach yours. However.. The pain I caused you was far from my intention. I am deeply regretful that it came down to.. That awful encounter.
“To answer your question though, Virgil, I am here because I created ‘here’. A realm made to form this illusion of being home, sweet home, just on the corner of the little street you had come to live on for the past year. It is all my doing. Where you stand is simply an illusion only you and I can access, a manipulation of your dreams and memories. The only place where the real me can talk to you mostly unhindered.” The guardian gestured to his surroundings.
“It takes only one person to flip your life on it’s head, a matter of hours to make the decision of a lifetime, and a matter of days to have completely changed your life’s direction,” He turned to Virgil, and looked him straight in the eyes, feeling distant and lost.
“And only a matter of years to succumb to the depression of the lonely consequences..”
Virgil blinked at that. The sad, longing tone had him thrown for a loop; it almost felt like the Guardian wasn't even quite talking to Virgil. “I-What..? I.. I don’t understand.”
The Guardian shook his head, snapping out of it and refocusing himself. "Nevermind that. It is time I talked to you for real, if you will have me?" The Guardian held out a hand politely, though there was no real expectation for Virgil to take it.
After a pause, Virgil gave a slight nod, still suspicious of the other's intent. The Guardian returned the nod, and his hand fell to his side.
“I am limited to the time that you rest and for now I will not be able to explain myself thoroughly, so, I ask you to understand that I do not expect you to trust me when I am done. I honestly do not expect you to ever trust me. With the mistakes I have made, I firmly believe I would not deserve it.”
Virgil blinked in surprise, not having expected his captor to admit to his faults straight off the bat.
“Okay.. Well, we’re here, might as well hear your side of the story. So.. Shoot.” Virgil said lightly, distrust and suspicion still evident in his tone and stance.
“I would assume at this point you are well aware of how the story you have been told paints me as the villain, a mastermind seeking power, immortality, and revenge? At least, that is what I am led to believe is still the story, it has been many years since I have heard the tale first hand… And... Well. Would that not be so lovely?” Virgil made a face, eyes narrowing in confusion.
“I am serious. Life would be so much easier if it was all black and white, true or false, good and bad, would it not? If those who meant well knew everything and those malicious few could not corrupt anything?” The Guardian frowned a bit, frustrated with his words that couldn’t seem to cooperate with him.
“Would it not be lovely if I could talk to you without fighting to keep from turning every honest thought into a question or theoretical statement just to let it be said? That my words could hold a meaning not forcibly disguised in the forms of fables and riddles?” The Guardian looked down lamely, his words tapering off in agitation. For a moment, Virgil waited as the Guardian was silent, contemplative. Then, the next moment the Guardian’s face scrunched up in sadness and his words were soft as he placed a hand over his golden wrist markings.
“My story is complicated, and twisted with shades of grey. One could say what I did was an attempt to keep you safe, another could say that what I did was outlandish and impulsive, and stupid. But no one will be able to tell you that what I did went according to the plan I had... at first. No one will tell you that my intention was to save you, to keep your fate safe. No one will tell you that my plan was ruined. Because there is no longer anyone who remembers what happened that night except for me,”
The Guardian’s eyes flicked up to meet the ravenette’s, a hurt look passing over his face as he continued. His steady voice now just barely trembled with uncertainty as he continued.
“No one but me and the soul who wants so desperately for everyone to forget. The soul who ripped my own in two to bury the secret, and ruin you and I both.”
“My final warning is this: Beware of the man who carries the world on his shoulders unflinchingly, he will be watching you closely. You have immunity to his power thanks to our connection, you might use this knowledge well to find the truth that lies in plain sight. However, your fate lies in the decisions you chose to make with this knowledge, I can only warn you of what might come.” The Guardian nodded solemnly, choosing to finish his cryptic warning there.
Virgil stood there, reeling with the information. Sure, he definitely wasn’t completely convinced he could trust this cryptic stranger, Guardian? Foe? Friend? Virgil wasn’t really sure what to call him anymore. But damn, his life was already so fucking crazy, this was all just fucking crazy! He could just be dreaming for all he knew.
But… Deep inside, he was hoping he wasn’t.
This was, well. This wasn’t what he’d been expecting to hear when facing the man whose, er, body? Had originally tried to strangle him? Now he’d heard his sob story and, well, Virgil wasn’t that easy to fool, but he’d also been told that it wasn’t expected that he’d trust the guy even in the end and he didn’t really want to.
He’d been on the path to death for so long, and then just two days ago everything had changed. So much was happening, it was frankly exhausting. What the fuck was he, some book protagonist? Couldn’t he get a little time to think about all this before he went crazy?
Still, something under all his incredulity begged to hear the guardian out. He vaguely wondered how Stockholm Syndrome worked before he gave in a little. What difference did a little more crazy make in his life at this point?
“Fine, I’ll heed your warning, or whatever the fuck. But only if you can tell me what you mean when you said that this guy ripped your, uh, soul? In two.” Virgil huffed, partially relaxing. It was odd how comforting he found it to be, floating in this weird feeling imaginary world, where he could interact with objects that weren’t real. It felt like he was really standing in his home, and yet it was just built from memory.
The guardian’s solemn expression formed into a grim smile, eyes distant once more before nodding. “I will do the best that my words will allow.” Virgil nodded, and waited for the now very familiar stranger to gather his words and take a breath. Then he began, his markings lightly flashing gold.
“You find yourself whole one day, as you have always been. To be whole of body, whole of mind, both human and guardian in nature. To have conscious thought and control over your whole physical being and soul..
“You find that yourself and others of the winged variety are capable of separating your soul from your being, though only the most Elite can do it well. You find out the family you made would soon be in danger. You then find yourself lost and alone when you once had a home to call your own.
“You find yourself knowing a truth, a perilous truth. Your home is in shambles now that you are gone, yet they do not know it. This truth is at fault, but the blame is not fully your own in a world built on lies.
“The source of truth tucks itself into blankets of grey, drawing itself further from discovery with each passing day. Now only you know the truth. The source of the truth finds you, it seeks to hide you too.
“You find yourself split one day, as you have never been before. Forced apart from the body, trapped within the mind. Guardian in nature, to have conscious thought and your dying soul trapped within, a false mind piloting the puppeteered confines of a broken body with a blind goal.”
“You find you cannot control what you used to, you are a prisoner to a body that is no longer your own, mostly unconscious to the world around it. Crazed by the false emotions that fuel it.”
“The you that used to be is no longer, and has not been for over a hundred years. The world that knew you knows not of what you’ve become. Knows not of the shackles that bind you.
“The you that used to be is no longer, and will never be again.” The Guardian finished, hesitant yellow eyes meeting Virgil’s carefully. Phantom goosebumps trail down Virgil's arms as the final sentence strikes a cord in him.
Virgil found he really wasn’t quite sure how to respond to that, the rawness in the other’s tone spoke volumes of the sore spot they’d reached.
“Your body rests, but your mind also needs time to process today. I shall see you when you next rest, though only if you wish to seek me. Rest well knowing that you will not be scooped from your safety once more, as I hope I’m never to do so again. And...” The guardian paused, considering their next words very carefully.
“I know it is selfish to ask... but, I hope and wish that Thomas is alright, after all this time... Do take care of him, would you?”
Virgil paused and stared, finding only concern and longing in the guardian’s expression. And, well, fuck. What a way to pull at a guy’s heartstrings.
“Er, yes. Yeah. I’ll try my best.” Virgil gave his signature mock salute, the Guardian tipping his hat in return.
“Trying is all I could ever ask of you, Virgil. Rest well, you will need it.” And with that final sentence, the world around Virgil gently grew dark, and he sunk into the comforting arms of sleep.
Despite it all, Virgil still found his mind vaguely conscious. Sluggish at best, but awake nonetheless.
He figured it was likely some lingering effect from the Guardian’s dream realm, but didn’t dwell on it. His life had way too much else going on to be debating the side effects gained from Guardian powers.
First, he’d been pretty damn convinced two days ago that he was going to be a goner by the end of the month. Completely resigned to die believing that his very existence was scorned by the world he’d been unwillingly born into.
Then Patton had stumbled onto his shitty apartment’s roof, found him in all of his resigned and depressed glory, and changed his life forever.
They’d mostly skipped the whole ‘Human nature is a series of life, death, and rebirth’ spiel that guardians were known to give in these situations because... Well, It wasn’t like they’d really had time to address it before the truth about his soul had come out. That he wasn’t exactly human to begin with.
Virgil didn’t think that Guardians had ever had a situation like his before. There wasn’t a protocol for comforting a kidnapped guardian soul. It’d never been a possibility before!
So it wasn’t surprising then, that Virgil didn’t have any better of a time processing it.
His whole life, all that he’d known to be true, all that he’d believed in? Everything had been uprooted and turned on its head. He’d apparently been living a life that was not supposed to be.
Perhaps for the first time in two days, Virgil realized that the thought of his death at the end of the month had not been consistently worming into his brain. It had once been something he could never seem to stop thinking about.
The death indicated by his soul timer was now perhaps the farthest thing from his mind.
Perhaps the strangest thing so far was that he wasn’t alone anymore. He’d possibly had more physical contact with other people in the short two(three?) days since this adventure started then he’d had in the past 16 years.
And wasn’t it just the cherry on top that he’d also gotten nearly choked out by the very guardian accused of kidnapping his soul in the first place? And now he was considering trusting the damn guy.
Virgil hollowly wondered why he even cared.
Why did he care about staying alive now when he’s spent his whole life believing he never would? Up until two days ago, that belief had still been true. But now? Avoiding death was the goal, Logan had stated as much.
Really, would Virgil lose anything by trusting the banished guardian? Even if the guardian was trying to trick Virgil and got him killed, what difference would it make? That’d always been the goal before. What did he, Virgil, really have to lose?
If it happened that Virgil lived past his twentieth birthday, if he became a guardian like he was supposed to be in the first place. Would he want that? Did he want that?
He wasn’t sure. Didn’t know if he ever had been.
His life had been built on resignation to the inevitable. Nothing seemed to motivate him towards liking or hating that possibility. He was just that.
Indifferent.
And wasn’t that just the greatest revelation of the night? Finding out that you’re indifferent to living or dying.
Once this was all over, if Virgil lived that long, he would make a note to see a therapist. He knew very well that this kind of mindset was unhealthy to keep. It just couldn’t be helped that the nineteen years he’d lived with this particular affliction couldn’t be fixed by a few extra hugs and comforting words.
Even if he didn’t like the fact that death sounded like the more peaceful option.
His thoughts paused, mentally sighing at the downward spiral he’d caught himself in. It was tiring, and going nowhere.
‘For now,’ he decided, ‘I’m just going to see how this plays out. The Guardian said that none of the others remember the truth, or whatever. So, It’s a ‘he said-they said’ situation right now...’
‘I’ll have to keep an eye out for the guy that he warned me about, then. Who knows if he's as dangerous as The Guardian made him out to be. It’s hard to tell with the weird way he has to talk..’
Virgil paused again, a realization striking him. If he could have groaned, he would have. Not once had he been given or even remembered to ask for the name of said Guardian. What was he supposed to call the rogue Guardian now? He couldn’t just keep calling him The Guardian!
Amidst the disbelief of such a slip up, a foreign yet familiar feeling prodded questioningly at his conscious mind. Adding confusion into the mix of emotions, he returned the feeling with a questioning thought of his own.
He briefly heard the Guardian’s whispy voice once more, now acting with permission.
“You may call me Janus”
Then all at once, Virgil woke up.

Odin’s Ward ~ Chapter 16
Link to previous part: https://bonjour-rainycity.tumblr.com/post/639618035738607616/odins-ward-chapter-15
Pairing: Loki x female reader
Word count: 1836
Warnings: Brief mentions of death
True age: Y/n: 1449 // Loki: 1575 // Thor: 1827 // Audunn 3213
Human equivalent age: Y/n: 23 // Loki: 25 // Thor: 29// Audunn: 51
Loki’s POV
The trial is brutal.
In the course of his attempt to save his life, Audunn does everything he can to discredit Y/n. He paints her as a liar, a schemer, the mastermind behind the coup, and at one point, even accuses her of sleeping with his servant, Sveinn.
But she faces it with her head held high and takes none of it, delivering her account of the coup honestly and clearly.
She will make a great queen someday, and I can see by the sparkle in his eye that Odin recognizes this too.
In the end, the evidence against Audunn is too damning, and he is sentenced to death, to be carried out in two days time. It comes a shock to no one, except maybe him, and he meets the verdict with false claims of injustice and conspiracy. He has to be dragged from the courtroom.
Y/n watches him go, flinching slightly when he gives her a look of such hatred, I can feel it in my own bones. Thor — the dutiful fiancé — shields her from Audunn’s view.
After we are dismissed, Y/n disappears, and I resist the urge to go looking for her. She probably wishes to be on her own, and I have no right to offer her comfort, anyway. But fate, it seems, has other plans, and a few hours later, I find her sitting in the gardens, absently staring at a light pink flower.
I have to say her name twice before she notices my presence. She looks up, blinking as if working herself out of a daze.
“Oh, hi Loki,” she murmurs, staring at my shoulder rather than my face.
I’ve never seen her like this. The Y/n I know has always had a bite to her, a spark of passion. But the woman before me may as well be a shell of Y/n, for all the light that is in her eyes.
I’m at a complete loss for what to do.
So, without thinking, I conjure a bottle of wine and hold it out to her, sitting next to her on the bench.
She looks between me and the bottle, and then the clouds in her eyes break and she gives a soft laugh. She takes the bottle and drinks deeply, clutching it to her chest when she’s finished. “We cannot solve all our problems with alcohol.”
I try to study her inconspicuously, still concerned for her state of mind. “Yes, but it can take the edge off.”
She chuckles more freely, taking another long drink. “When I am queen, that shall be the cornerstone of my domestic policy — your children might be starving, but here, have something to drink! It’ll take the edge off.” Then, with a noise between a laugh and a sob, she forces the bottle back into my grasp and drops her head into her hands. “Oh my gods. What went wrong, Loki? How did we mess up our lives this badly?”
I shake my head vehemently. I know I’ve screwed up, but she’s done nothing of the sort. “You’ve not done anything wrong.”
“Haven’t I?” She raises her head, and when she looks at me, I can see her eyes brim with tears. “I fell in love with you when I knew I would belong to someone else.”
I furrow my eyebrows, confused as to why she’s upset about something so out of her control. “You didn’t choose to—”
She raises a challenging eyebrow. “I cheated on my husband with you.”
Does she regret that? I try again to stop her self-berating. “That was my fault, I—”
She begins to talk over me, her voice growing more hysterical with every word. “I let an innocent servant be beaten half to death because I couldn’t keep my mouth shut. My people were massacred while I relaxed in the bath—”
“—Y/n please, stop this. It isn’t—”
She refuses to be consoled. “I’ve sent my husband to his death. I looked him in the eye and condemned him! And I will never love Thor. He doesn’t deserve that. I’ve taken away his chance at happiness with Jane, I—my chest hurts — I can’t breathe.” She gasps through panicked sobs.
Without thinking, I place the bottle on the ground and gather her in my arms. She clutches at my shirt, shaking and gasping in shallow breaths. We hold onto each other too tightly, like if we relax even slightly, the other will crumble apart.
“Okay,” I try to soothe, my own voice wavering with worry. “Okay, deep breaths.” We draw in air and exhale together. I bring my hand to the back of her head and draw what I hope are calming lines with my thumb. After a few minutes, she regains control of her breathing and leans further into me, visibly exhausted. I lay my cheek against her hair, grateful that she seems to be through the worst of it but knowing she’s not out of the woods yet — I’ve had enough panic attacks to know how volatile they can be. “When was the last time you slept?”
“I don’t know.”
As gently as I can, I stand, pulling her with me. “Come.”
She doesn’t protest when I transport us inside her chambers, though she does look a bit sick at all the movement. I walk her to her bed then bring her a glass of water — something I probably should have provided her with initially, instead of the wine.
“I’m sorry,” she nearly whimpers, sagging against the pillows.
Immediately, I shake my head. “There’s no need to apologize. I…”
Don’t do it, I beg myself. Don’t give in…it will only hurt you both. You are undeserving of her love, and probably incapable of giving it back.
But I have always been selfish. I am unable to stop myself from repeating her words to me from a few days ago, showing just how deeply I have taken them to heart. “I am always on your side.”
This seems to calm her. She sighs contentedly, her eyes fluttering shut. Within seconds, she’s asleep.
I know I should leave. But instead of walking out the door like I planned, I find myself settling on the couch facing her bed. Now that Y/n is settled, I take notice of the exhaustion in my own body — sleep frequently eludes me, too. And, without meaning to, I drift off to sleep.
Y/n’s POV
I awake to the soft peals of bells in the distance and the first rays of the sun. For the first time in while, I feel rested. I did not wake once, it seems, and slept soundly from afternoon to early morning.
There’s a figure lying on my couch.
Loki is too long for the small furniture, so he sleeps curled up, wrapped in his cape. He looks so innocent and peaceful that it makes my stomach hurt, because I know those qualities will flee once he wakes. He’s gone through so much. And yes, a good part of it is by his own hand, but still, I ache with the desire to see him well-cared for and happy and free of the weight he keeps himself under.
As if feeling my gaze, he stirs. He stretches out, groaning softly, then sits up straight, blinking to adjust to the limited light.
We stare at each other for a moment before I gather the courage to speak. “Good morning.”
I feel unsure.
How many times had we woken up together, in much more intimate contexts than this?
But this moment…this moment feels dangerous. It teeters on the edge of something familiar, something we could so easily slip back into….
He swallows, holding my gaze with equal gravity.
Then, he breaks it. “I’m sorry. I should not have stayed.” He gets up, and moves to the door.
But I am not ready to let this moment go, and I call after him. “No—I don’t mind. Please, stay.”
He looks at me over his shoulder, uncertainty in his eyes and…hope?
Unsure what exactly compels me to move, I rise from the bed. I take my time walking to him, fearful that if I move too quickly or too loudly, all this will fade away. When I reach him, I stop just short of our shoes touching.
The words I feel so strongly come out as no more than a breath. “I want you to stay.”
Slowly, hesitantly, and with all the force of a brush of air, he takes my hand in his. “We cannot fall back into old habits.” But even as he says this, he steps closer, bringing up his fingers to twine in the ends of my hair.
I’m unable to stop my free hand from running up his chest. He feels so familiar, so solid, so safe. “We would be terrible people to do so.” Somehow, my lips are now only centimeters from his.
His grip tightens in my hair. “I wish I cared about that.” My fingers brush against his neck, and his lips touch mine.
A sharp knock echoes through the room.
I jump, and Loki closes his eyes, leaning his forehead against mine. “Send them away.”
“Yes,” I agree, reluctantly releasing him from my hold and pushing him out of sight. As I walk to my chamber door, I have to blink a few times to steady myself.
Am I really going to do this? Aren’t I strong enough to stop myself?
Do I want to stop myself?
I pull open the door, to reveal a smiling Thor.
Oh gods.
“Thor,” I half-gasp, the excitement and peace I felt just a seconds ago shattering on the ground. “I-I’m sorry, I wasn’t expecting you.”
He eyes my rumpled dress—yesterday’s dress—with amusement. “I can see that.”
I feel heat gather in my cheeks. “Yes, uh…I was so exhausted after yesterday’s events that I fell asleep in the afternoon and only just woke up a few moments ago. I should call Ragna and dress for the day.”
“Perhaps that would be wise,” he agrees politely. “And after, would you be so kind as to join me in the dining hall? I would enjoy sharing breakfast with you.”
“Oh.”
Because he’s my fiancé.
Fiancé’s spend time together.
Former lovers do not.
Oh, I am awful.
I force a too-sunny smile to my face. “Yes, I would like that as well. I shall be there shortly.”
He bows, and brings the back of my hand to his lips for a kiss.
I’m the worst. The shame makes me feel ill.
I close the door. As much as I dread doing so, it is Loki I must send away. Because he is not my intended.
Gathering my resolve, I turn to search for him.
But he is already gone.

Safe and Sound // Scott McCall
Prompt: Hey could you make a one shot where Scott tells you not to do something, but you do it anyway and it almost gets you killed, and that’s when he tells you that he is in love with you? Thanks!
Thank you so much of the request! Sorry it took so long, but I hope you enjoy :)
Warnings: mentions of death, a bit of blood, heavy feels, hospital stay
Those damn Hunters. Scott was leading the pack into yet another suicide mission. You were no supernatural creature, but in your gut, you could sense that someone was going to get hurt. It was not part of your nature to stand back while your dearest friends risked their lives. Scott’s brown eyes peered into yours with a glare of stern concern and something else you could not put your finger on. “I know you want to help, but this isn’t the place for you. It’s too dangerous for you. It would be better for everyone if you just stayed back this time.”
“I get it. I’m just a fragile human to you. It’s not like anyone else here is exactly invincible,” you seethe through your teeth. This was true. Supernatural did not always equal invincibility as all of you had seen almost on the daily. It was frustrating that Scott never could accept that you were more than capable of holding your own, even after you proving your strength and intelligence time and time again. Yet, he continued to treat you like a burden.
“This is my fight. I decide who fights with me. You will stay here. End of discussion.” Fighting him was useless. There are other methods of getting your way.
“Fine.” Scott’s tense broad shoulders relax upon your apparent surrender. His lips curve into an appreciative smile, a grateful glint sparkles in his eyes — or was that something else? Something that delves beyond being a protective friend.
“Thank you,” he says your name softly as if he didn’t want it to float out of his reach and into anyone else’s grasp. Against his better judgement, he wanted you to be his and his alone. Still, your safety was of the utmost importance to him and he was more than willing to sacrifice his selfish desires to keep you from getting yet another target on your back. “Go home. I will come back to check on you after this is all over. I promise.”
You give him one last look before you turn to retreat to your home. You felt pathetic and useless running away from the fight. It was not your fault that you could not shapeshift or predict the future or whatever. Determination ran through your blood. You were going to prove yourself no matter what it takes. Jumping in your car, you quietly recite the directions to the abandoned warehouse the pack was heading toward. It wasn’t a long journey before you got close enough to sneak the rest of the way on first.
Just beyond the trees, in a decent sized clearing a dinghy building stood. The overcast in the sky passed rapidly, making the moonlight dance against the rotting property. Shadows could be seen through the cracked glass of the windows on the bottom floor. It was the perfect place for an evil mastermind to operate. You crept up to the entrance, hearing familiar voices talking inside. The Hunters backs’ were facing you while the pack stood their ground on the opposite side of the large space. This was the perfect time for you to make your attack. Just run in and knock one of them out, giving Scott the perfect opportunity to join in to overpower them. Absolutely flawless plan of a sneak attack. Nothing could go wrong.
You lean against the wall and clutch your heart, trying to calm its incessant pounding against your chest. You had never done anything like this but it had to be done. Slowly, you rise bracing yourself to run at your victim. Sprinting at the fastest rate your legs could carry you, you jump on the nearest figures back, hitting his head with closed fists. Scott calls out your name, furrowing his eyebrows. Your punches land but do nothing to bring the figure to the ground. If anything, you were a pitiful koala clinging on his back. An extra weight, nothing more.
Another one of the hunters grabs you by your waist, pulling you back to your feet. Your back presses up against a heavy chest as your hands are restricted behind you and a hand squeezes your neck. “It’s so nice to see that your girlfriend decided to join us, Scott. I am truly looking forward to showing her what a real man looks like later tonight,” the lead Hunter smirks, resting the barrel of his gun against his shoulder. He runs a hand over your cheek, looking back over his shoulder at Scott. The minion’s hand tightens against your windpipe, nausea fills your stomach. A rumble emits from Scott’s chest, his face burning with raw rage. It was one thing to mess with the pack, but to hear that monster mention you made his skin boil.
There were only a few moments before you would blackout, this was your time to do something, anything to save yourself. Scott and the Hunter exchange a few more words while you brace yourself. You shift your body weight forward, gathering enough momentum to swing your head back and make contact with your captors nose. A sick crack echoes through the room. He releases you from his constrictive grip and you begin running to safety by Scott’s side. Adrenaline makes you feel powerful as you lunge to safety.
“Watch out!” a voice shouted. Your head whips to the origin of the sound. Shadows of countless arrows and bullets fly in your direction. Metal grazes your skin, knocking you to the ground. Your head bounces off the rocky ground and you can feel a warm liquid trickle down your side
A scream tries to leave your mouth but it comes out in a garbled cry. Face down. Paralyzed. Unable to make out any words. Bleeding out in a secluded warehouse with the worst pain you could imagine. This is it, you think.
“I told you not to follow us. How could you be so stupid? Why couldn’t you stop trying to be the hero for once in your life?” He flips you onto your back and cold regret crawls through his veins. His throat dries as he notices the life drained from your face. Your lips turning blue under the moonlight. Your eyes no longer possessing that special shine he would be more than willing to spend the rest of his life looking at.
“Stay with me,” he cries, holding your cold hand up to his cheek. “There’s so much we still have to do. Just you and me. Please give me another chance. I’ll do things right this time. Please don’t leave me like this. Not before I — ” He chokes on his words. He blames himself for all of this happening. Maybe if he had let you come along in the first place, he would have been able to better shield you from harm. Maybe he should have left someone behind to watch you. Maybe he should have never introduced you to his world in the first place. His thoughts come to a rapid halt as you gasp for air. Your eyes flutter shut, leaving black holes in their place. This is it, he thinks.
“This isn’t fair! Bring her back!” He whimpers your name, punching the bloody concrete next to your body. His knuckles burst with blood, adding to the gruesome mix. Derek roughly grabbed his arm, heaving Scott to his feet. But gravity reunited him back to your side, where he belonged.
“We have to get her to the hospital. Screaming at the sky isn’t helping anyone.” Derek’s voice of reason gives Scott a rush of hope over his body. He gingerly cradles your head in his arm while the others move under your thighs to lift you into the air. His heart sinks as he remembers fantasizing being in this position at a later date under much happier circumstances.

Everything feels heavy including the strong smell of antiseptic. A faint beeping from the machines to the side of the bed and the wires entangling your lifeless limbs let you know that you are in a medical facility of some sort. Breathing alone prompts a stabbing pain in your abdomen. You reflexively reach to hold the pain but a weight on your hand prevents you from doing so. Your eyes open, adjusting to the blinding light as you try to see what is touching you. A strong bruised hand engulfs yours, making it seem much smaller than usual. Small scratches litter the surface, highlighting the prominent veins ever so slightly. The thumb traces soft patterns into the back of your hand making you sigh in comfort. Your eyes travel up the mysterious figure’s muscular arms to a familiar face. Scott was hunched over in the small visiting chair that was most likely not intended to be a place for napping. His head fell to one side and you noticed a small glimmer of drool rolling down his cheek. The sight made you smile. How long has he been like that?
A soft voice makes you turn your attention to the otherside of the room. “You know, he hasn’t left the room since we first got here. Not even to take a leak, according to my professional opinion, a UTI is in the works.” Stiles stood near, leaning against the door. He spoke in a hushed and uncharacteristically serious tone. “He made me promise to watch you while he slept, I swear I’m not a creep.”
You tried to say something, anything, but your throat was so dry that nothing would come out. Stiles held up a reassuring hand, signaling that you can relax. “He really cares about you. He always has. He just has a hard time showing it. Don’t be too hard on him.”
A wave of shivers run over your body. Was that true? Soft snores recapture your attention. Scott looks so peaceful and innocent as he sleeps. It is so unlike anything you had seen before. You wished to run your fingers through his silky hair but he was too far away.
“I’ll go let the doctor know you are awake.” Stiles turns to leave. The door clicks behind him and Scott jumps to his feet. Teeth bared, ready to kill anyone who dares to threaten his sleeping beauty.
“It’s okay Scott. Everything is fine. We are safe now,” you struggle to say. Your voice comes out hoarse but you try your best to sound comforting.
Scott’s face almost instantly brightens. He takes your hand in both of his hands, squeezing tightly as he drops to his knees at your bedside. His lips connect with the back of your hand, leaving several quick pecks. His eyes gloss over as he smiles so widely for you. He very suddenly leaned over to embrace you in his arms. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” he chants over and over again with his lips pressed against your ear. Who he is talking to is unclear but you don’t mind. His smell is intoxicating. You wish you could live in it like a permanent comfy sweatshirt. Shortly, he pulls away looking back into your eyes.
“I was so worried, I could not live with myself if you would have died.”
“I know, I’m sorry Scott. I just wanted to be more than your useless wimpy friend for once.” Your eyes don’t meet his piercing gaze.
“You have never been useless or wimpy to me,” his hand gently pushes your chin to look back at him. “You are everything I have ever wanted and more. You are strong, smart, capable, independent. You never needed to prove yourself to me. I have been in love with you since the day I first laid eyes on you. I love you, (Y/N).”
The EKG on the other side of the bed picked up on your accelerated heart beat, increasing its steady beat rapidly though you could have sworn in that moment your heart exploded from pure joy. “I love you too, Scott.”
You both exchanged a smile before locking lips passionately. Your lips molded together and moved in a perfect pattern as if you had done this a million times before. This is where you are meant to be. Safe and sound in his arms.
(A/N)
Well, that was a trip. It is kind of rushed. I just wanted to get something out. I have been getting back into writing again lately, however, Teen Wolf has not been as inspiring to me as it once was. As you could probably tell this was a little bit all over the place. I think I might write a few Star Wars one shots (specifically Anakin or Kylo bc I love an emotional bad boy) to get back in the mood. So if you are into that, stay tuned and maybe send me some inspiration.
