im gonna ask this on anon cuz of shy. but... in your opinion or anybodys what is the diff between stolen/inspired? I'm half worried that i might accidentally write something that'll seem stolen from others if not careful. 😅

This isn't to scare anybody off. I just want to offer what insight I can for folks. ♥

Sadly, anon, when it comes to fandom content especially, people do get a bit...aggressive. lol I'm not gonna sit here and say 'what? who? me?? I WOULD NEVER!' Because like I said before: I HAVE been that way. It's been a good 10 or so years since I have, but your 30s tend to chill you out... It did me anyways, can't speak for others. lol

Do know that if anybody acts that way, it's mostly insecurity and or worry their inboxes won't be filled with love and want for more of their content. It's not something you should be ashamed of. Your writing was just so good it rattled them. How they act is not on you and never will be on you. I speak, again, from a place of knowing from being that way and being on the receiving end of it.

Being inspirited by someone: If someone or something inspires you to do something new or unusual, they make you want to do it. If someone or something inspires you, they give you new ideas and a strong feeling of enthusiasm.

So, basically, I've had people tell me they are driven to want to write their own Demiurge stuff thanks to my writings. And dang man, am I beyond ecstatic when I read that.

Now, if they write anything about a Supreme Being having been Isekaied with Ainz and the NPCs, and Demiurge is in love with them? That's inspired and also, to add to the point, a token love story that's often used in the fandom. I cannot take credit for this idea, nor can I claim anybody was inspired by me in particular to write it.

Nobody can who has done this formula layout.

It's basically a layout that's easy enough for first time writers to get their shoes wet in Overlord in my humblest opinion. Same for if they are suddenly in a relationship with Ulbert and then Demiurge merges that idea into the character in question.

If their OC is an angel? Same thing. I cannot take credit for that thought. Besides, as I told a friend: angel/demon relationships are as cliché as you can get. And I LOVE that cliché. I know I'm not alone there. ♥

I am sure there are a lot of people who claim that if you write ideas closely in relation to theirs, you're stealing somehow. If you use the same tropes, tags, ect. But no. As much as those people want to believe that, it's not the case.

So let's move onto my next part.

Stealing: When you take WORD FOR WORD someone else's story or are obviously just coloring on top of someone else's hard work. That the layout has only a slight tweak, basically, and I'll explain.

Now, I've mentioned these things on and off before, but I'll use them as reference again.

A long time ago, I was RPing an erotic story with a friend regarding her character being sold into a harem with a bunch of guys in another fandom who were basically shut-ins. Each new female had to be auctioned between these shut-ins and the highest bidder would get the female.

Now, I wrote a snippet (which I still have and is very much storaged on my DA) where the characters by the name of Thunderhawk and Sojourner were bidding heatedly for her character. The final, winning bid was 200,000. Against my friend's character's will, she was to be pushed off and stripped of her clothing as these two anthro snow leopard like lady twins were to bring the winner, Thunderhawk, his prize. The image I had drawn that used to be up was her character naked with her arms bound behind her back.

It was going to be a graphic novel, but my interests in the fandom was dwindling, and it didn't happen.

Now, I had someone comment on one of my art pieces saying 'oh that Rule 34 website has something up in the works called Spectre's Haven--you might be interested in it'.

And I went to read the pages up and...

The characters are all shut-ins (which is a given with the material we were both writing from, so that's no big), but then you had 2 obvious off screen characters asking for 'what was the starting bid' and having the woman bound naked before the men, going into bidding wars for the women they want for their harems... Sojourner and Thunderhawk were seen bidding heatedly side-by-side. Spectre, however, came out the victor....for 200,000. lol

The woman they got was nervous to be in the harem just like my friend's character was, but was told that it was not so bad. After there was nothing for them to 'grab from' where my snippets and stuff was concerned, it just went into pure on porn.

When I talked to the writer about it nicely and they had this to say to tl;dr it: 'yeah, I had the harem idea in my head for awhile now, read your stuff. Loved it btw, and I decided to make a reference to it as that's what I do. Thunderhawk almost won the bidding war but I decided last minute to make it Spectre instead. We didn't think it was necessary to put in credits, since it was obvious.'

Keep in mind: this is from a website that, while the comic was free, they still get ad revenue on their site. They got money from my work and never bothered to credit the original source because there was 'no point'. lol

It hurt but, I didn't bother to fight it.

Now, again, it's fine to have the same idea as me. But when stuff starts to align really closely like that? It's...alarming. You can easily do a harem idea without a bidding war. There's MANY ways to do that. But they just used mine because it was easier, I suppose. I dunno. They could have even used other characters that they grabbed from. There was like six total I used and that they were referencing too. I still feel there was other ways to do their comic. And besides, if you're going to reference me and admit to that when you work on a mature website that gets money for your work...? CREDIT me.

They had a far bigger follower base, and here I am getting nothing for it other than I loved the artist they had doing the comic, so I guess my idea was in their story and in the art I loved... ^^"

And the winning bid could have been anything. They said it was obvious nobody noticed the wink and nod at my stuff but uh...no. lol My friends/readers saw it and actually got madder than me at it. xD; I told them not to do a thing. As long as my friend's character wasn't used, I wouldn't be upset.

And to be honest? As long as someone takes something of mine like this again but does it for free? I really can't be that upset. Is it disrespectful? Sure. But I won't be heated about it if money isn't obtained from my ideas.

Now, fast-forward to 2020 where I wrote/illustrated to page one of Dancing with the Devil, my erotic/non-con Demiurge/OC comic, and then later the reader insert, Devil's Contract.

I was conversing with somebody at the time who instantly threw down the link to their story saying how similarly it sounded to their fic. Keep in mind, I never read fanfics in any fandom. My ADHD won't allow me to focus on someone else's works I am not close to let alone my own writing. (When it came to their story, I kudos it in a fit of mercy since they kept reblogging 'pity me posts' about their writings.)

As you can guess, we had some similar themes going on: non-con, bad BDSM etiquette, calling Demiurge 'Master', a human character he abuses but turns to love, the works.

But that's it, though. We had similar THEMES. Not similar deliveries.

If you read either of our fics, it's basically night and day.

However, this caused her to be furious and think I was stealing from her. Especially when my kudos, bookmarks, and comments took off. She would vent read my comments and obviously stay on top of my stats more than me, because she's that kinda way, I guess. Noticing that people not in Overlord were reading/loving my story was making her irate, as she had already damaged her reputation in the fandom twice before. She hated she couldn't get that sort of fanbase, so she started to falsify her own through dummies and anons when she 'rebuilt her fic'. (I'll leave this here, because it doesn't need to go beyond this.)

Now, another friend of mine is nervous to write her own version of something like this given the prior hostility in the fandom where this person was concerned. I told her in DMs "I'll support the hell out of your fic. Whether you post it publicly or just snippets to me in private".

And that's the truth.

I don't care if other people write something with similar themes to me. I really don't, and others shouldn't either. It means the world gets two cakes with (hopefully) different deliveries.

Now, if someone were to take some of my snippets here and replace the blank reader with a character of their own choosing? That's theft.

Please, don't ever do that to anybody. lol

If you want to do that, because you want to use it as a backbone for your fic? Ask first and then credit the person. Even if you requested the snippet in question: the person wrote your idea. You still deserve to give that person full credit for the thought they put down for you. ♥

But, I am only one person in a sea of many. And to be honest? As long as you're not making money off of my stuff, then good. I just don't want my ideas being sold is all.

Otherwise, it's our playground, and fanfiction I feel is a great way to learn where to go. ♥

I honestly and truly hope nobody ever feels scared to write to, post their writings.

I hate that some places have become like a warzone, but you can always do your best to curate your experiences. ♥

And, again, while I am ADHD and have a hard time reading, if you link me to your story and ask for my opinion, I'll be happy to read it. ♥ You know I will.

you check the time on your phone and it’s only three am when it feels like you have tried to fall asleep for what felt like hours. you sit up in bed and rub your tired red eyes, fearing for when your alarm would start going off alerting you to start your day when you hadn’t even finished the last. in your sluggish haste you dialled your boyfriend’s number with empty hope that’ll he will pick up...

it took him a while to answer, as expected he was fast asleep. but when he was dragged finally dragged so far outside of his sleep cycle to notice that his phone was ringing, he shot up so fast and answered immediately. when jinwoo heard your voice on the other end he became even more concerned than he already was. why were you awake at this time? was something troubling you? were you in danger? this worried leader bear would not stop worried leadering, he can’t help it, it’s in his nature to be concerned about you. however when you said you just found it a bit hard to sleep and wanted to hear his voice, he softened (a just a bit though he’s still nag you a bit but it was all out of love). jinwoo would then spend the rest of the call’s duration talking softly about his day and things he’s been interested in lately. and maybe MAYBE sing a short lullaby for you really really quietly (so quiet you’d think he’s whispering). in between all his sweet actions he never fails to tell you he loves you and that he’s so extremely proud of you no matter what you do. he wouldn’t end the call until you’ve been silent for 20 minutes and hears your heavy breathing from the other side of the line.

“you want me to sing for you? really bubs, is there anything else- okay, okay, but only because i love you so much my beautiful amazing y/n. if you ever feel like this again please call me, i don’t care what time, your wellbeing is my number one priority”

when it comes to you he would be all bright n’ smiley, no matter how tired he actually was. you knew he had musical promotions coming up which is why you wanted to avoid calling him during the later hours of the day as much as possible. but you should know myungjun is always up to talk to you no matter the time place or day: you’re his love why wouldn’t he? when he answered your call he tried to mask the tiredness in his voice by speaking in a chirpier tone than usual, you laughed at his attempt and said you were going to end the call to let him rest. myungjun of course would never let you have the final say so he started to whine until you gave in and continued to talk to him. then he insisted you guys face timed his excuse being “if i don’t see your face i am physically unable to go to sleep” complete bullshit, but that’s what you love about him. when you answered his face time request he had the biggest shit eating grin on his face. you’d guys would be on call for about an hour telling shitty jokes, blowing raspberries at the screen and talking about places you’d like to visit when you’re both less busy. myungjun only agreed to end the call when both of you struggled intensely to keep your eyes open.

“oooo, look at you my perfect baby!! you’re so good looking you know that? you take my breathe away every single day, i can’t believe you’ve deprived me from seeing your face for this long”

“it’s too late for this myungjun...”

“no matter the time i will shower you with the compliments you deserve jagi!”

good chances are he’s awake and can’t seem to sleep, not being able to clear his head to the point of exhaustion. eunwoo was fully prepared to spend the rest of the night awake. maybe he could do something more useful with his time and catch a nap on set later in the day. kicking off his covers, he was planning to get out of bed but then he got your call. out of all the members i feel eunwoo would be the happiest to get a call from you at this time of night (all of the members wouldn’t really mind but eunwoo would love getting calls like this, it made him feel liked you needed him). when he picked up and there was no hint of sleepiness in his tone you got worried. for the first few minutes all the call was you two sweetly bickering. “why are you still awake-” “well why are you?” “you called me first” “well if you were fast asleep you wouldn’t pick up” and more cute shit like that. talking to you at times like this would bring him so much strength and he really treasures it. something about your silly sleep deprived conversations feels so intimate to him and it sets his heart alight. when he can tell you’re drifting off, he makes sure to tell you he loves you once more before trying to get some sleep himself. the sounds of you soft half-awake sighs would lull him into a deep sleep and you would only notice he never ended the call when you wake up to your phone’s battery being on 3% and the sound of a snoring eunwoo.

“i’ve noticed i don’t sleep as well without you in my arms. i miss your sleepy voice, it’s like a lullaby to me. when i see next you i’m never letting you leave my sight again.”

is it just me or does anyone else think our binnie has a slight temper when he’s woken up from sleep. it wouldn’t last for long but he’ll be very cranky and frustratedly pouty if his alarm had gone off or one of the members started shouting in the dorm when he’s trying to have a lie in. he’d wouldn’t be any different when he heard his phone ringing from the bedside table. he was so tempted to fling that thing out the window. when it went off for the third time he answered the call clumsily almost missing the answer button. in a pissed sleepy voice he answered “what do you want?” you taken aback by your normally sweet boyfriend’s bluntness, whispered a quick apology before ending the call. moonbin felt so awful when he was realised it was you. the last thing this boy wants to do is hurt your feelings and he was angry at himself for denying you in a time of need (now we have a really frustrated pouty bin). he immediately called you back and apologised a lot (even after you said it was fine, his every other sentence was filled with sweet sorry’s and kissy noises just to make sure you don’t hate him) moonbin would calmly ask why you called and got a bit worried when you said you couldn’t sleep. bin would scold you lightly for maybe staring at your screen for too long or not taking as many breaks as he thought you needed. but then again he would comfort you and ask if there’s anything you’d like to get off your chest. after letting you rant he gave his best advice and the most loving and encouraging words he could. you fell asleep to the sounds of his praise and bin couldn’t have felt better.

“baby i’m so so sorry, you know i would never deny you like that on purpose, please don’t be hurt. you’re worth so much to me, i couldn’t bare for you to be upset with me. you know how much i care about you love, right?” *ensue more pouty and whiny bin waffle*

minhyuk would be wide awake when you call him. he feels like one of those people who finds it really relaxing to go on runs in the early morning, watching the sunrise by the river; seeing streets around him get busier as the city starts waking up. he would be in his kitchen filling up his water bottle, hearing his phone ring from the island behind him. his eyes glanced at the contact name and he smiled. minhyuk answered your call like he would answer any other, failing to realise that it was going on 4am and you had things to do in the next few hours. after hearing that you couldn’t sleep he would chuckle and joke around “what’s the thing keeping my y/n from sleeping? tell me and i’ll beat the shit out of the thing ” (not lying he would punch the air around you if you said it was bothering you, he really is that whipped). i don’t think the conversation would hold anything in particular. it would just be mindless small talk and random thoughts as rocky is getting himself ready for his run. it would be so light hearted and sweet, this is what most of your relationship is like and why you love minhyuk so much. everything is so chill and thoughtless with him, you match each other so well. you could say something and nine times out of ten he is thinking the same thing. after sometime he would say he had to end the call because if not he’d miss the sunrise. you complained playfully that he was choosing the sun over you and minhyuk found it funny; promising to make it up to you in one way or another. but you didn’t expect to be woken up by the clattering of pans and cups caused by your clumsy boyfriend, in your kitchen trying to make you breakfast.

“ahh don’t worry y/n, i would never need the sun when i have you with me. you make me so happy you’re like my own personal sunshine. try and get some rest and you’ll wake up to pictures of the sunrise that reminds me so much of you.”

out of all six members, he would be the only one not to pick up. sanah obviously wouldn’t do it on purpose, he loves you way too much to ignore you like that. he probably left his phone to charge in another room or in a more likely scenario poor bubs was just so tired he couldn’t wake up. even if you threw water on him our maknae wouldn’t budge. so when you called, his phone was just vibrating on the table untouched. after the fifth go you just stopped trying to reach him and started up at your celling hoping tiredness would reach you soon. in the morning when sanah checked his phone and saw all your missed calls, colour drained from his face and he’d get so panicky that he’d almost drop his it. he called back immediately, flooding your exhausted state with so many questions it would make anyone lightheaded. when telling him you just wanted to hear his voice hoping it would help you sleep, he replied with “did you end up getting any sleep then?” and when all he was met with was silence from your end, his heart dropped. he was so angry at himself and would never let it go that he was the reason you didn’t sleep (he wasn’t but trust me for the next week he’d go to bed with his phone right behind his ear). sanah would tell you to get your laptop ready with a show you’d been meaning to watch because he was coming over for a nap n’ movie date. when you tried to object because you had things to do that day he told you no but’s and he’d cancel work/school/your meet up with friends for you. in no time he showed up at your door in his pyjamas with two plastic bags, filled with extra blankets and your favourite sweet and savoury snacks.

“what do you mean you didn’t get any sleep and did some work instead? sweetcheeks you know that’s horrible for your health, i can’t have you being sick, it would break me knowing i was the reason. you know what? get your netflix account up i’m coming over- no excuses, i’ll handle everything else, now go get ready to be attack with my love.”

hi, anon who asked that question about zen 🥺 I completely agree with what you and @/sunshinejihyun said oml thank you! next one: do you think yoosung ever grows out of his lolol obsession, or does he still come home from work and play for hours?

ANON I LOVE YOU. YOU ARE MY FAVOURITE THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME LIVE MY NERD DREAM.

Yoosung’s route was the first route I played and I haven’t played it since, so it’s been 3-4 years (oh good Lord) so I apologise if I get anything wrong! Please let me know if I do! :)

Also this is a long one lol so I’m gonna put it under the cut!

I think this one requires a few assumptions about his ‘after ending’ on EVERY route, not just his own. I think if he 1) acknowledges his unhealthy habits and starts to consider where they stem from, 2) seeks professional help for his mental health, and 3) is surrounded by supportive and caring people (which I believe can be the RFA once they are also aware of his struggles) who help him find his motivation, then I believe that he will cut down on the hours he plays LOLOL. And here’s why!

It’s mentioned a few times in the game that Yoosung used to be a star pupil and goes to a prestigious university. Jumin even offered him a place at C&R in the past. He’s not always been the person we see him as in the game, in fact he was the opposite. His hard work and work ethic isn’t something he would throw away easily, and therefore I don’t think his gaming habits are just a product of him experiencing freedom for the first time. Yes, he mentioned before that he found school and his life before very restrictive and stressful, and whilst I believe there’s truth in that, I don’t think that he would do a 180 like he did on that alone. There’s a chatroom and a visual novel (I can’t remember in which route...) where it is heavily implied - or perhaps explicitly stated - that Yoosung lost his motivation after Rika ‘died’, which I think is completely plausible. Trauma can affect your life in many different ways, and a loss of motivation is definitely one of them. Therefore, I think if he was aware of and treated for his issues, and with the support of others, I think he would stop relying on LOLOL so heavily as a distraction for his pain or as a means of procrastination. Procrastination isn’t always ‘laziness’, sometimes it happens because of anxiety or depression and I believe that is what has happened here.

HOWEVER, I don’t think he would just give it up. Even though it became an addiction because he was struggling, I still believe he genuinely enjoyed the game, and can enjoy it more now that entertainment is the sole reason for him playing. It would take a while for him to break out of his habit, for sure. But eventually he would see it for what it is: a game. Not a distraction, not a way to fill the hole in his soul after the death of a loved one, but as a game.

Yoosung would need to overcome his struggles himself, but that doesn’t mean he has to do it alone. There’s a difference, and I think saying that MC helped him overcome his problems is fair to say. She didn’t cure him by any means, that’s unrealistic, but she gave him a push. He had someone who made him feel loved and cared for, and therefore gave him something to fight for. Being in love finally made him consider the future, and that’s when he realised that he wasn’t liking the path he was on and decided to make a change. Perhaps before, a bright future wasn’t something he thought was worth the work, but when he found someone he truly cared for, he realised that it was and that he deserved it. And this realisation could have come from anywhere, not just from being with MC. It’s not necessarily who or what it is that’s important, it’s what is does for him that matters. So, again, it depends on what happens after the events of the game, but I wholeheartedly believe that he at least has a chance to heal and therefore cut down on gaming.

It hisses. Twists Its form within the sewers of Derry. It feels the rest abating. It is nearly time. The center of It’s emaciated bones burns with hunger. Writhes from it. It’s body jerks and snaps as, in the latent sting of It’s final dreams It cannot decide how to form. To wake. Or perhaps It is dreaming. Running. Flying. Floating in agony. Cracking sounds issue forth from the black hole It has been resting within. Tearing as well. As if It is ripping itself away from It’s cocoon. Or tearing It’s entrails from It’s own desiccated rib cage. Or perhaps…… this is the sound of an eldritch heart as it breaks.

Within It’s dreaming mind twists another time. A different plane. One of delectable fear. The tranquil thrum of wailing screams and gargling death rattles tickles It’s hearing. Sweet music of unutterable gibbering terror. It’s dreaming vision is caressed by the allure of dilated alien eyes. Flaring nostrils. The bounce and sway of bodies fleeing on a different world. Quadrupedal slack jawed fatlings. Spindle legged and trembling with that emotion which was most delicious of them all. It feasted. Mowing thru, enjoying the hot wet rushing taste slopping in It’s gaping fanged maw. Oh but this was ecstasy!

It feasted. Yes. Gorged with ravenous moans and squishing sounds, slurping at the last vestiges of terror as it cooled, turning shiny eyes glassy and dull. Feasted until It was satisfied. Relaxing to rub It’s bloated belly, as It belched comfortably. Being like this had been so satisfying. Carefree. But the hunger was never long in returning. Never stayed away. So soon It was stalking again. It would drain this world as It had drained so many others. Suckle and slurp until this planet was as empty as It’s own heart. Then move along, leaving the now dry planet like a forgotten lover.

Yessssss. Only a few centuries of fun from this beautiful lover before she was dried up like a wastrel. A shriveled husk. Her craggy face like the mummified face of a corpse. Cackling It danced. It loved to dance. Dance upon the dead. Throwing It’s claws to and fro at a speed so rapid that the dry dead vegetation caught flame. Snarling clicking laughter as the planet burned.

And so this dance became repetitive. Billions of screaming terrified whelplings consumed in a delicious feast. Planets burning and destroyed as It cackle and danced in an ecstasy of hunger. Then flying thru the void of space searching for more of that untameable feeling. Always dancing and hunger. Killing and feeding on beautiful suffering. But it was never enough. It must kill and flee the waste, resting as It’s form floated to another sumptuous buffet.

Oh how It loved these rests just as much as the feast. The icy void. The sparkling of distant stars. The hollow gentle floating of deep space. It’s consciousness bubbling in and out of this dimension. In and out of this cosmos. Empty. No hunger. Nothing. And It was delicious.

It would float and rest for an eon or 2 before plummeting down. Flaming and exploding into the gravitational pull of yet another fearful lover.

That was when It felt that presence. The other. No. Not the turtle. Not of the macroverse. Not as the revolting reptile was. Nor as Itself. This was something else. Something other. Colder. So so much colder than the void of space. And darker. Bending light around itself like a ravenous singularity at the center of every black hole. But this was no mindless singularity. It sought IT. Gave chase to It. And this thing. This darkness. It was the unknown. Nonexistence.

And this nonexistence whispered to It. Not words. Only emotion. This thing hungered even more so than Itself. Was never satisfied. And cared not for the fleshly bags It so loved to bathe in. This Thing only seemed to haunt It. And the Thing whispered. Showed It things that It had never thought of. How It was the last. The only. Showed It the blackness of nonexistence. Whispered of the doomed womb of death which awaited It. Perhaps this Thing was the collective vengeance of the lights It had snuffed out. Perhaps these whispers were merely the screams of the dead.

And so a new dance was born. It fled. Feasted and gloated. Forgot for awhile this impending approach. Then the Thing would arrive. And It would flee. It’s floating rest became tinged with nervous awareness. At first this dance was languid and slow. It had time to fill itself and dance. Cackling and roaring and taunting this nameless thing. But then the Thing crept forward in earnest. It no longer had time. This was another newness to It. Time. Or not enough of It rather. It began to have to HURRY. Feasting became desperate gobbling. Dancing became screeches of frustration and angry gesticulating.

But It never fought the Thing. Had no knowledge of an even fight. Had slopped and consumed It’s own brethren as they had rested. Just so that It would never have to share the tasty terrified flesh It so craved. No. This Thing was sentient. Alive. Strong. And the dark promise this Thing whispered of simply would not do. And so It fled.

Soon The Thing was always close. Always trying to wrap it’s cloudlike blackness around It’s form. This Thing did not gloat. Nor exhibit any sort of passion. It was merely hungry. Not to destroy. But to constrict. To hold It forever helpless.

It did not wish to be helpless. An eternity of quiet awareness. Of motionless listening and blindness. And It could no longer feed. Could no longer rest. Must always flee. Faster and faster. No more floating. Only blinding speed.

It began to feel burning hunger. Numbing tiredness. Desperation. So this was the Thing's plan. To wear It out. To tire It. Until it must supplant itself to the will of that blackness. All alone and motionless. That would be……. So lonely. It had never thought of Itself as a lonely thing. Had always had delightful screaming company.

But now this idea took root. Clawed into It’s mind and gnawed on It’s heart like the nearly forgotten youth of It’s own kind. But they were gone. The whispering stardust of a memory. There was nothing out there. No help for It. No supplication. And this being It’s own fault did not occur to It now. This was simply the way things were. Simply what It was. And that……. Loneliness…….. Wanted to end It. And there seemed to be nothing It could do. It slowed. It weakened.

But It had never been a foolish being. And desperation makes a keen mind even keener still. It developed a plan. It was risky. But possible. It smashed and shook It’s head as It fled, slashing at Itself, causing pain. Discomfort. Any thing to block It’s thoughts from the Lonely. And then It expended itself. Using the very last of It’s energy to explode Itself far from the Lonely. Far from the awareness. From the presence. A small planet came into view. Tiny and blue. The third sphere from its star. It felt the burning pull of its atmosphere and lost consciousness. In this state It was no longer visible to the Lonely.

It knew no more for some time. Knew nothing as It’s form crashed into the soil of this world, melting and burning so deep that the plant life around the crater was cauterized. It took a good long rest. Millenia passed. Life forms rose and those same life forms died out. It might have rested forever had not a strange kind of life form emerged. One unlike any other It had ever encountered. Bipedal. And able to reason such as Itself. It was this reason which disturbed It’s long rest. Which ignited It’s eternal hunger.

It burst from It’s deep cavern, withered and starved, joyously swinging It’s gaping toothy maw. It had never tasted anything as sweet as these creatures. It gorged itself till swollen and sated on the easy to conjure fear of them and upon their succulent flesh. Their intelligence was their own undoing. They were so much simpler to scare! And they were so weak! Yes. This planet would do very nicely for what It had in mind.

It knew the Lonely was waiting. Waiting to see It migrating to yet another lush world. But the Lonely would not find It if It stayed small. If It stayed Hidden. Things would have to be different. No more burning of planets. No more wiping out the entire populace of a world. It fed lavishly in a much smaller form. Enjoyed itself for small periods of time, usually 2 or 3 of this planets solar cycles. Then It would snuffle under the weeds to rest and to dream for awhile before rising to continue the circle of feeding and rest.

As It languished here It’s attitude and behavior began to change. It became quieter. Darker. Learned to hide behind darkness or a false form. Learned that stalking It’s prey could possibly stretch out the entertainment. And that toying with the younger of the species made the meat taste DIVINE. It was content like this. It could survive like this. And since It could no longer dance in planetary fire It instead would cause some momentous event to dance in a little instead before slipping off to rest. It found It could do this. To the older of these life forms. To the ones who kept their heads down and obeyed blindly. And this pleased It. It needed nothing else.

Until It saw her. Or rather…. Until she first encountered It. A young female of the species. At first there was no significance about her to It. Merely another capering meat sack to feed off of and enjoy. It had no descriptors for her species other than male or female. Young or old. It only even noticed her because of her……. Sadness. The emotion did not smack the chops like fear did. It was thicker. Like a bitter molasses. And she positively swayed with it. Even this was not significant. It had scented this before. But usually only in the elderly. And yet, It found Itself monitoring her even as It monitored the suckling young. These humans. Entertaining even in their monotony. It had recently fed so, for now, It was content to merely watch all of them.

And there she was. Dancing into It’s vision yet again. She was tilting her head, emitting low pitched rhythmic noises as she walked, swinging a stick. The noises were like singing only her mouth was closed. But there was none of the usual joy these creatures normally exuded when making noises like this. It was tiring of It’s continued attention on her. A quick glance into her mind produced an effective lure. Something called…….. A clown. A freakish aberration of the human form. How ENDEARING! It adored this new form as It’s body morphed it into being.

Luring her was as easy as It had thought It would be. She followed It’s warm voice tho she never really looked at It’s form.

Deciding to have some extra special fun before feeding, It combed her mind to find her biggest fear. And found…… the Lonely. The human jerked in surprise as the once friendly clown before her roared like a fiend. But It was already gone. Hidden shivering and gibbering deep under this town.

How could she have seen the Lonely? How could she even know of this thing? It’s jaw bones cracked as It felt an obscene smile. It did not matter. If she was dead, She could not remind It of the Lonely. Again It sought her out.

This time she was alone. Gathering water. And as It rose before her, clad in some nameless beast as the Lonely had no true form, It was AGAIN brought low. But this time It was because of her gaze. Her eyes were vacant and glazed. She looked thru It. Beyond It.

She reached a hand forward in a giving gesture. She questioned. Motioned with the stick she’d been carrying earlier, making her petticoats swish. It realized…. She could not see. The only vision of fear in her mind was darkness for this reason. Stark curiosity made It comb her mind much more thoroughly.

She had lost her vision very young. The only thing her young mind could remember was the very clown form It had chosen to assimilate. Therefore, by choosing this, It had eliminated any fear she might have felt.

This felt strange. Being here in front of this insignificant thing without even a whisper of fear. Her face was creased with an enormous smile. Her cheeks shone with crystalline tears. She was murmuring of magic. Of angels and gods. Her hands were down near her side, palms facing It. She was completely open to It. It felt…… pride……. Within It’s chest. It knew nothing of human custom or mythos. And this rippling tide of adoration was so very new. It hissed at her in feigned defiance. Testing her. This brought a laugh from her. Not one of mockery, but of quiet gasping joy.

This soft laughter was It’s undoing. It allowed her to approach. Allowed her to touch It’s face. To feel the lines and planes of this form. And from this time onward, this form was It’s very favorite. It came to her often. Watched her from afar constantly. Listened to her stories and whimsy at first while perched before her as she’d sit making chains of daisies. Then later, with It’s head in her lap as her fingers traced the lines of It's brow and carded thru the ginger hair on It’s head. It had never received such treatment.

This being did not feel love as a human might. Only slowly began to register a complete inability to function, to continue, without these things. It still fed. Voraciously so. But in It’s alien mind this feeding was simply not a part of the very most special time It spent with her. And she never knew of It’s eating habits. She was never alone. Never in danger. It always watched. Became obsessed. Did not wish to leave her. Her presence was the blinding light that drove away any last shreds of that dark and dank Lonely. It found that It no longer cared if the Lonely even still existed.

And yet all good things must end. All good things must pass away. And so it was with this as well. It was growing tired. It would need It’s rest. It fought this. Pushed It’s own endurance, staying awake nearly 3 times It’s normal cycle. It had told her It must rest. And that this may very well exceed her. It had waited for her to lash out. Instead she’d held It tightly. Reassured It.

“I would wait forever.”

And so It curled into Itself. Wept into an uneasy rest. Felt the cold chill of the Lonely as It’s consciousness faded. And all was no more.

27 years later

It had been swift. Awakened swift. Broken It’s fast swift. But something had been growing within her all these years. Something nasty and insidious. Dark and so very hungry as it ravaged her from the inside out. Her human mind did not know what this was as this disease was not known during this time in human history. But It knew. It could SMELL it. It could SMELL this waste eating his little human alive from the inside out.

At first It did not understand. Could not understand. Could not fathom anything of endings or the ceasing of existence for anything pertaining to It’s own pleasure. But as she weakened and withered this knowledge became far too real. That she would be gone. No more listening to her childish stories. No more feeling her touch. No more watching her sleep or hum. It had been so pleased to discover that her propensity to create wordless musical noise had been called “humming.” And It did not wish for this to cease.

During the day It watched from the drains, enjoying the ease of travel these “sewer pipes” afforded It. At night It slithered out to her and listened to her. As she became weaker and more tired, It would hold her head as she’d held It’s own head, and speak to her of things It had seen.

One day she was so weak that she ceased eating. This was a concept that It simply could not grasp. She soon no longer spoke, merely gasping occasionally and shivering. It could sense her faltering heart. That night It wrapped a spindly soft form around her and generated heat. She felt so cold. This night It whispered to her of It’s past. Of It’s true nature. It whispered of the Lonely. It asked her to stay. Her vision was the Lonely to It. And It did not wish for her to be embraced in that hollow void. She didn’t answer. It hissed in helpless anger and tightened It’s hold, becoming warmer still. This simply would NOT do.

It did not cease. So why should she? The impulsive question had an equally impulsive answer.

Using It’s claws very gently, It lowered her jaw. Then It lowered Its face to hers. It had never kissed anything. Had no knowledge of this. Nor was It trying to do so now. It’s fanged jaws stretched open wide, wider, and wider still. Drool puddled out onto her gauntly aged face and chest. Her face glowed from 4 tiny light sources inside It’s throat. But this glow grew brighter. Without warning It wrapped It’s massive jaws around her head. It’s teeth did not press tho the longest points did split her skin in some areas. With a strong exhale, the macroverse screamed as It gave her a part of Itself. One flash of destructive light made her blank eyes glitter for a moment as It breathed into her a portion of It’s own existence. It’s own eternity. It’s body bowed and snapped around her as if It were in labor and struggling to drop young. The macroverse poured forth it’s screams and roars of despair and loss.

But It had failed. Even as It’s precious deadlight had burrowed into the flesh of her heart so had her last breath exited her body. It unwrapped from her and collapsed onto the floor next to her bed, gargling sounds of quiet agony pouring from It’s closing maw. There was fleshy tearing pain and a hollowness where It’s little light had been. But worse still…….. It had felt that little light die with her. It had tasted death in a far different way than It had ever tasted death before. And the taste left It’s tongue dry and bitter like ashes and poison. It sneezed from the effect, each jerking contortion of It’s now shifting form feeling the shorn amputation of this piece of Itself.

It paid no heed to her body as a human might. This was just an empty slop of entrails and cooling meat now. An old useless empty vessel. A tomb.

It was no longer hungry. No longer upset or uncomfortable. Simply very tired. Hollow. Empty. It crawled down into It’s cavern and into the most dreamless rest It had ever had.

It was listless ever after. Cold. Hateful. Always preferring the form of that clown. Incomplete.

And always waiting. Always.

Here’s my first impressions.

Warning! a loooong post, squealing, incoherent thoughts smashed together, and crying ahead. A lot of crying.

OH NO. They really started it like this. I’m shivering in bed rn. It’s haunting and beautiful and too short. Is that marching?? That’s marching, are they going to war now omg hold on—

[I didn’t include the audio for Wonderland because I hit the limit and ALSO you should go stream it on the KQ channel instead ;) hehe]

The transition into this was spectacular. The marching just became the beat wooooah! HONGJOONG AHJFKSL YES that’s how you start a song. Seonghwa and Yunho, beautiful. Wooyoung!! sounds amazing!! Seonghwa’s low voice o I was not prepared. San helloooo I love the instrumentation at this part. Jongho, as expected with the high note. Oh OH KAJA!! oooooohhhhh man the chorus goes hard I can’t wait to see the choreo. The production on this is spectacular. FiX oN MiNgiiiiii go off oml 🔥 YEOSANG 👏🏻 GET 👏🏻 THOSE 👏🏻 LINES 👏🏻 this is a head banging song I’m head banging rn. The way they bring it back right before the chorus *chef’s kiss* This is overwhelming man. Jongho with the bridge yussss he and San sound amazing. Wait they were right it is like Hala Hala they added both parts of the chorus together!! It’s almost over isn’t it. Yeah it’s over. Ok I need to breathe,,,

It’s starting kinda like a sad song this isn’t a sad song is it?? SANIIIIEEE! Aw this is cute I like it. Hongjoooooooong! I love this rap it reminds me of something. Ooh prechorus?? It’s so pretty oh No here’s the chorus— oh EDM?!!? OKAY!! Wait do I bop or cry 🙊omg Yeosang!!!! oh my baby you sound amazing. Harmonies 😭 harmonies omg there are harmonies... Mingi! This prechorus, idk what to say it’s amazing. WOOYOUNG JUNG WOOYOUNG NO NO NO NO HES SINGING THE CHORUS AFHSJLSLE Jongho ur vocals are sweet honey please have mercy it’s only like the 4th song and I’m crying already. Hongjoong my boy, this style of rap holy cow. Did someone tell him this is my fave style of rap, because— oh, he’s still going?? Ah this is going on repeat the rest of today 🥰 Yeosang I couldn’t be happier you sound gorgeous and Yunho woah their voices match well. WOOYOUNG AGAIN!! This part was made for him it has to be. JONGHO! SO PLEASE!! This bridge I’m just a mess of tears now they are really singing their hearts out. Is it too early to have a favourite?

Ugh all these songs are ending so abruptly I’m never ready for the next one. Oh I’ve heard his.. aHA AHAAAAA I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT this is from the teasers. I had the teasers on repeat this bgm alone is. so. cool. Yes the Mingi rap aaaaaaaaahdhsjkdflsl but we can hear it this time lol. woah it’s not over yet. The beginning of Treasure! Hongjoong singing the beginning of Treasure again but different lyrics?? I need to look them up later oh what if it’s like they found their treasure,, no I can’t take it where are the tissues the ending is so sad whyyyyuyyy

Yay there is already a fun flavour in this song! Hongjoong your voice is so rich in the low register daaaaang I need more of this. Seonghwa is that you? I feel like I haven’t heard his voice since Wonderland I’m sorry seonghwa my bff I’m getting whiplash trying to hear everyone’s parts but you killed it. These lyrics!! This is a hype song fs. THE BEAT DROP AAAAAAAAAHAHAHHAH!! “Ayyy we are gonna win” YES YOU ARE BOYS! Oh shoot I said that out loud I hope no one heard. Okay yes this is my new hype song no one is allowed to be discouraged listening to this. Oop “aha” Hongjoong hakdlaplajql I squealed again. Aw the rap verses were short but still slayed. This song is so fast I can’t keep up but I love it I am feeling this. The low voices and then the beat drop I can’t FUNCTION THIS IS SPECTACULAR !!!!! You are gonna wiiiiiin. This reminds me of Pirate King the altered voice and then adding a harmony the second time, anyone feel me? Mingi singing in the bridge again yes I love this. Ooo EDM break aaaahhah go crazy go stupidddd! I want a choreo for this, I need a choreo for this. Woah the instrumental is very unusual here. And it ended like that with the piano, deconstructing the elements of the song. Oh I need a second listen for musical reasons but we gotta move on.

This album is moving way too quickly we’re halfway done ripppp. I love the instrumental here it’s super slick. I’m already enjoying this very much. Oh high notes San!! Vocal line has popped off, exceeds expectations 100% Aww hi Mingi. Ah thank God the chorus is sweet and full of riffs wowowow this is a sharp contrast from last song. YEOSANG!!! My heart jumps every time I hear him, you don’t know how hard I prayed for him to have more lines. Hongjoong! What are these voices in the background?. Adorable, this is adorable aaaaahaha!! Oh it’s “we are one, we stay one” that they spoiled in ANEWZ I seeeee. This chorus ugh this whole song I love I just have the biggest smile on my face while also sobbing yall don’t understand. The bridge ahh idek what to say I’m so happy with this. You boys make me so proud I hope you know that 😭 !! The voices are back! This is literally so cute hELP

Sunrise. Okay deep breaths. I’m gonna just listen and try to not think about the fact Hongjoong cried writing this song. Let’s go. .... oh. OH. Oh it’s soft. I’m soft 🥺 ahhh man they sound so good. This— the background music... it’s doing me in. Aww Mingi. Ahh no this sounds sad whyyy I’m afraid to see the lyrics dangit. (0:41) I just dropped my phone. We’ve added instruments in the back. Oh Jongho that was such a clear note the vowel was perfect there. This chorus I can’t. Yeah ok I’m crying again something about the guitar I . Cant type. Oh man. Oh OH OH the bridge the BRIDGE THE BRIDGE everything the vocals the background music. Okay here’s our real stomp stomp clap moment. Ah ok wiping the tears now. They sound great. That was an experience I hope I get to breathe during this but I already know I won’t. Um.. it’s piano... for like a solid 20 seconds and it’s slightly jazzy are we getting a ballad?? Our first real ballad!! Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! Seonghwa yessss 🥰 Oh you guys I’ve wanted to hear a ballad from him for so long you don’t even know. Wait everyone sounds so perfect I can’t even describe this. Yunho baby yesss your voice. Wooyoung oml SAN ahhh San your transitions are stunning. Jongho our ballad king it’s like he’s barely even trying and it sounds amazing. Lovely lovely lovely. Mingiiiii he’s singing yet again. Hongjoong too!! Yes oh yes this is it. Their voices all being showcased so perfectly. I’m amazed how well they can all fit this style just as well as they can fit a song like Win. I have one criticism only so far and yall already know what it is. Yeosang still could’ve gotten more lines in this one :_( This is the last song before Beginning of the End oh no. Nooooo I don’t want it to be over. Oh? OH? Yeosang! Yeosangggggg!! Omg I have goosebumps he said NO IM TAKING OVER it’s MY SONG NOW! Wow amazing. The structure of this has been so so interesting I’m definitely going back to analyse. No it’s over...

I’m scared. I’m crying again noo it hasn’t even started jeez pull yourself together. Ok but before I start I really don’t want it to be over and not in a way that implies I want more songs just thinking about how... this is Ep Fin right? The end. Obviously not of ATEEZ (God forbid) it’s only been a year and they’re slaying it I mean absolutely knocking it out of the park each Ep bigger and bolder than the last, they aren’t afraid to try things and when they do they hit the nail on the head. But still this is the end of an era, a storyline too if I’m correct. And it’s just a surreal experience to see it come to a close. ATEEZ, I don’t know where you’re taking us next but I trust you guys and I know it’s going to be amazing.

Ok anyway let’s start the song 🤣 crackling noise? Fire? Ok it’s orchestral. VERY orchestral. “Open your eyes” I felt that San. They were open but I just opened them again. This orchestra is really really moving and cinematic I love it. I see what this is, we’re going Intro: Long Journey except Outro version which is fuller, richer, even more epic and emotional. Oh boy I’m really crying now. Idek what to say again I’m speechless. Oh it swells just like Intro!! Is it the end? Woah???????? What is this? .....SAN?? Wait wait wait it’s over? Like that? No hang on. Waaaait what was that? Seriously that was very strange. I’m not imagining things am I? No does this have something to do with upcoming albums? I’m so confused 😭 it sounded rly cool and spooky whatever it was. Well. Okay! Yeah I guess that’s it. That was the last straw. I should really try to go back to sleep I only have a few hours till I have to get up. But now I’m probably going to go write something, that music was really inspiring. Yeah I think I said what I wanted to honestly! Again I just want to reiterate how proud I am, and remind you to go stream!!!!

Late again, but this time i have long paragraphs to blame for my excuse (yeah i'll try to work on that lol)

The amount of times that Keon got loud and angry… let’s just say it should’ve been him in therapy

It just fliPPINg occured to me… How did the main character in UnOrdinary die (not the comic, the book) die? I was rereading the first chapter to fact check and i saw that it said, “spoiler, he ends up dying.” i FORGOT about that. Be prepared for a separate analysis on that lol

I’ve noticed this a few times, but dAng, the headmaster is like the coolest guy ever. He defends John against Keon and has done so for students in the past. You GO headmaster Vaughn.

For John, this episode was just a little blast from the past lol

Does Keon know that John is pretending to be a cripple? (might’ve forgot this one, but i don’t remember at all)

yeah I really don’t know how trash these statements are because I just wanna get this up.

Really the only thing that happened this chapter; The Keon Interrogation:

I’m to talk about specific things and events, then I’m going to talk about this episode as a whole. Who’s excited :)

First, that part where John tells Keon how much he’s read the book and he freAks out. I just… don’t get why he’s worried about John becoming a superhero. I mean, Sera and Remi, yeah. But Keon knows John, or knew him. He should know that John’s beliefs don’t line up with those of the book’s and should believe that John would never risk his neck saving people he doesn’t know. The only two parts of John that Keon has ever known are his dark side (which would never help someone else without gain) and his nice side (which would never want to step out of line or do something illegal). Based on what he knows of John, the book’s ideals could even be better than the ones John held, so why. That’s the question: What is Keon afraid of and why?

I don’t think Keon is afraid of John becoming a superhero, I really don’t. That fear isn’t backed up by his knowledge and evidence of the person he believes that John has become. If anything, the story about a man who lives in a world of cripples and helps everyone is humbling John and giving him less confidence/self-esteem. John, a boy whose ability is to mimic others’ powers, left in a world where nobody has anything. Also, why would John become a superhero? Doesn’t line up with any of his ideals or character traits (as I’ve mentioned above).

Now, this is hard to argue because, honestly, what makes a superhero? In the book, he is a man that is kind and peaceful and helps because everyone else is a cripple. Remi becomes a superhero to avenge her brother and the organization behind his death. Rei became a superhero for what…? I think I forgot, or maybe it was never said? Why did Rei become a superhero? In episode 6, John says to Sera, “But he was trying to keep us safe.” Safe? Safe from what? Ember seems like the obvious choice, but ember is only the authorities trying to keep the superheroes in check. Did the superheroes start popping up after reading the book believing they could help someone? The world they live in isn’t a world of cripples. I really can’t picture someone just deciding ‘Hey, this guy in this book helped people, I could do that, but I’ll need a mask and secret identity’. I mean come on. I might just be forgetting something and i’m kind of too lazy to comb through every chapter of UnOrdinary (the comic) for more mentions of superheroes lol. But just like, John wouldn’t become a superhero. Not his style or his mindset. The only times he, “donned the mask,” were to stick up for Seraphina and get revenge… Not really what William Doe had in mind when he wrote the book I’m guessing. (also, and this is an afternote [im really stupid], he says in front of the lie-detector lady, “I have no intention of becoming a superhero, if that’s what you’re worried about…” Might’ve just left it out because he hasn’t said this to Keon as Keon is reacting intensely, but yeah haha).

So, Keon isn’t worried about John becoming a superhero, no. What he’s worried about is the act of reading an illegal book. Think of his strong reaction when John told him that his Dad wrote the book and even stronger one when John said how many times he’s read it. Keon is scared of John having such an influence in his home life. If John is living with a man who so blatantly disagreeing with the basic set of standards that the government tries to hold, what kind of things has he been learning. Keon even asks if his father had been punished for the book, obviously implying that he should have been. What Keon wants is an obedient kid that doesn’t question the authorities or the normalities (is that a word?). That’s what he was supposed to do to John years ago and that is what would be best for the authorities. When he finds out that not only John’s dad wrote the book, but John also read it daily, it’s easily understandable that he’s worried. John read an illegal book that was banned by the government even after all of his sessions with Keon who tried to fix him on a cookie-cutter path. It’s the fear that John was, and will continue to, think for himself, and maybe, against his teachings and the authorities that provokes Keon to multiple outbursts in their meeting. The fear that if this slipped up, what’s to keep all of his other work on John’s mind from unraveling?

Another thing I want to talk about from the chapter is what John says that is, confirmed by the human lie-detector lady, true.

In the episode, John delivers a worrying line saying, “I don’t believe everyone should be treated with equal respect and I don’t plan on using my ability to help out random strangers. That’s your job and I’ve got my own issues to focus on.” This not only reiterates my statements from before about why John wouldn’t be a superhero, but honestly is a real insight to his character.

I know that you all are thinking that he was just beating around the bush like Seraphina and carefully chose his words so as to not set off the lie-detector (i think her name is nadia. Whether it is or not is irrelevant and i will be calling her that from now on lol). I disagree. I think that the words that John said were 100% intentional and he meant all of it. It sounds bad to say that he doesn’t believe that everyone should have equal respect, but really that’s the basis of his character. That is one of his only motives for acting out. The whole monologue about how everyone was trash and there was no worth in the world. I don’t even need to say anything else, that is John’s belief and it is clear enough. I mean, I could continue. I have loads of material and I could go on, but I’m lazy so…

John’s second statement was that he doesn’t plan on using his ability to help random strangers. This, honestly, is the thing that could most be taken as a diversion that covers his real feelings. Like, ‘he said ‘with his powers,’ but he obviously knew that he would and has helped people without his powers.’ We’ve seen him defend low-tiers getting beat up multiple times. And yet… Is he really doing it to defend low-tiers or is he doing it as a slight or as vengeance against the mid-tiers? Could John’s early on mission have been to take down the cruel higher-tiers instead of protecting the lower? Because, after Keon initially had his way with him and after John decided to act like a cripple, isn’t it plausible that John just didn’t want another version of him running around? Isn’t it likely that both Keon’s encouragement and his own hatred for himself told John that this wasn’t right, that someone had to put the bully in their place. At this time, John had humbled himself down to a cripple and decided to stop bullying others. Why stop there? Why stop at himself? And if John truly doesn’t care about the safety of low-tiers, but rather for the punishment of high/mid-tiers, isn’t his statement better supported? Not only does he not help random strangers, he fights to harm random strangers. I know I asked a lot of questions in this paragraph and I’m sorry and hope that it doesn’t sound too dry/repetitive.

Then, John says, “- that’s your job (about helping random strangers).” And like that’s another reason why he'll never become a superhero. This is kind of a generalization, more of an addition do his last statement rather then a whole new enlightenment. The authorities helped John when he was out of control, but at the same time John said he respected superheroes. So yeah, I don’t really know what to say about this. Should’ve just added like a sentence to the last paragraph… welp too late and I’m too lazy to go back haha.

And lastly, John says that he’s got his own problems. I don’t even need to say much for this lol. 1. Sera’s problems. 2. Arlo. 3. Keeping his identity secret (as Tuesday). E.t.c.

So yeah, I really do believe that John meant exactly what he said. Fight me.

Moving on now…

Now, you’ve reached my overall part. I’m just going to talk about the episode as a whole. The episode showed John struggling with confronting his past, and leaves you wondering whether or not he has changed. Has he held a grudge? Or not? We can’t really be sure unless John explains it in the future because he put on a facade, a mask, to ask well in front of Keon.

It’s pretty obvious at least that John is suffering through some ptsd, and more than usual, as is evident with the abundance of flashbacks this episode has to offer. He has had dreams, flashbacks of that day in New Bostin, which are signs of post traumatic stress disorder. This might just be the episode that it is most heavy on so far (correct me if i’m wrong and this happened a lot in another chapter lol [not counting episode 104, that was entirely flashback, not john thinking of it]). And it’s easy to understand why. Keon, the literal embodiment of John’s past mental state, is suddenly thrown back into his life, even if it’s just for a short period of time. John really hasn't interacted with the man at all since their “classes.” For him, Keon is only associated with the worst time of his life, is only around after John has ruined things. It must be hard to see him again. But that still doesn’t answer my question from before. Does John hold a grudge?

I would think that if John didn’t hold a grudge towards Keon, it would prove that his ‘brainwashing’ is somehow still affecting him, his sessions are still at the forefront of his mind. That whatever Keon did to him was permanent. This would mean that John’s mind can’t truly be held completely responsible for all of his recent actions. I’m not saying that he didn’t do anything wrong, just that who John is right now isn’t the real him. This revelation changes my perspective on a lot of John’s newer decisions. Becoming Tuesday, teaming with Cecile, but most importantly, his disagreement with Arlo’s hierarchy. Now I know that Keon’s classes weren’t to make John disagree with the hierarchy, but they were to make him less extreme about the levels he takes it too. With Keon’s training, John was drilled that Everyone had their own place within the hierarchy. That he needed to take responsibility for everything he did. Keon made John believe that because of what happened at New Bostin, and I’m quoting directly from episode 105 (John’s inner dialogue), “I’m not brave. I’m not compassionate. I hurt a lot of people. I am a bad person.” Keon’s whole ‘shtick’ was that a person was in charge of placing themselves correctly into the world they’re born it and that if you can’t handle that place, or don’t deserve it, you’ve placed yourself incorrectly. This relates to Arlo because of the whole ‘unofficial dethroning’ thing with John. That big battle they had a while ago where John walked away the winner (I‘m not sure why I’m explaining this, lol yea of course you all remember that was like the biggest plot point ikjsbdjf). Because John knows that Arlo was beaten, he believes that he shouldn’t be able to be king. But not only that, because why would that make John want to destroy the hierarchy? John wants to destroy the hierarchy because he’s seen how poorly it places people. The royals are rarely held responsible for their actions (think: bullying low-tiers, not being responsible [cough cough REMI cough], e.t.c. wHEn wiLl you leaRN thAt youR ACTIonS have cONseQUENCEs?). The low-tiers give and give, but never get what they deserve. John has known this for a while, he’s tried to make up for the royal. This discovery isn’t really important, it just means that who knows what thoughts and actions of John’s are really John’s? So yeah, maybe look out for some real extreme internal conflict between the alternating personalities/individuals living in his mind? I don’t really know…

Next up; if John did hold a grudge against Keon. It would mean that, yeah anything above is just not true… yeah…

Yeah also (and Im gonna rush this part because im tired and this has been really long), i love the recurring theme of interrogation. I don’t know what to say, it just really personifies the feel of UnOrdinary.
