What they do not do is attack helpless unarmed people for 10 minutes with multiple weapons, pinning them against walls and attempting to blow their heads off.

What they do not do is ignore clear evidence for **years** of theft in their company, and ignore evidece their stock is falling into the wrong hands.

Nothing *repeat* NOTHING Tony does in the movies can be put down to him just being triggered. Blaming PTSD for Tony's violent and deliberately reckless actions is vile.

I've been stealth at three different workplaces and it boils my blood when people act like being stealth is some kind of privilege. like even if it is "easier" for us to be stealth (it's not, I get clocked as queer even if I can pass for cis, but whatever) it's also not a fucking good thing that we are forced into the closet. like, when I got my IUD placed, I was in pain for days and days, but I only took one sick day because i would have needed a doctor's note to take more and I didn't want the letterhead to be from an ob/gyn. I worked manual labor at the time and it was fucking PUNISHING having to deal with that level of pain with no reprieve. to say nothing of the way I was always terrified that my coworkers would find out and ridicule me or worse. nothing about being stealth ever made me feel safe. at one job I worked with a client who was a known sexual abuser (he had multiple accusations of groping people) who was extremely homophobic and had been known to harass female staff, and it was like he could smell that I was different. he hated me in particular and I never figured out exactly why but I think it was because my body was more feminine looking than the other male staff (the organization tried to avoid putting female staff with him as much as possible). he threatened to kill me once and that was with him not knowing I'm trans. I feel like if he ever found out he would have legitimately hurt me. I had so many panic attacks at that job, so many times I ended up crying in the bathroom bc of how he behaved towards me, and I couldn't even tell my supervisor because I didn't want it to become gossip and somehow make its way to him. being stealth transmasc can be so fucking miserable is my point. hazing. sexual harassment. violence. all of that is constantly on your mind when you're trying to make sure no one can tell you have tits every day. because they DON'T see us as men when we get outed! they see us as women, not only women, but mannish women (which is the worst kind to a lot of people) - they see us as *failed women.* tainted women. if women are seen as property by the patriarchy then trans men are seen as broken toys.

Aether's been a doctor at an institute for over six years now. He's seen it all. From mental health, drug addiction, criminals who use it as a cop out, to even children struggling to distinguish reality from fantasy. He's seen it. But none, absolutely none, could prepare him for a recent intake.

Delilah.

Came in the back of a police car, yelling, cursing at the staff and hitting everyone if she got the chance. Normal to be honest, he's had worse. Trying to softly talk her down and it works somewhat with the help of getting her medications and she's able to fall asleep in medical for the night.

He meets with her the next evening, quieter and staring out one of the locked windows in his office.

"Delilah? Are you alright?"

She just glances over before sighing, going back to the window, hand under her chin and obviously annoyed. "It's Dewdrop. I don't know how many times I have to tell people that."

"Oh! I apologize. I'll make sure to put that in my notes... Do you prefer male terms?"

Another scoff and he turns again, "What do you think, genius?"

"Right. My apologies again."

"Don't bother," He's curled up on himself, staring at the ceiling and leaned back. "I know how this game works. You're not the first and you won't be the last. I mean, I get baker acted from another fucking inpatient facility to here because they 'can't help me', when that's literally their job. You're gonna ask me about my past, so what do you wanna know!" Shrugs and sits back up with a bit of laughter. "You wanna know about my dear ole daddy, my teen druggy years, the fact I can't eat without having a breakdown, or that I haven't been trusted around a pair of fucking kids craft scissors since I was 15. I'm 25."

Aether just nods, wiggling his pen between his fingers. "Well, I was actually going to ask you about you, currently. Not your past or your issues. I like to get to know people before I treat them."

"You're not gonna help me, buddy. I appreciate the enthusiasm, however."

It's a bit of a stare down before Aether smiles, sitting up in his chair a bit more. "Sure. There's no guarantee I can actually help you, but I am the only way you can get out of this facility. You can't leave until I mark you as competent and safe to be released. So, let's just pass the time and at least learn what the others music type is, hm?"

It takes a moment before Dew just smirks back and relaxes back, elbow on the arm rest and staring. "Top five genres and why."

It's like that for at least three weeks. Dew in his office, messing around with the many stim toys and activities inside, lounging around, and speaking about whatever topic of the day. Dew isn't meeting his markers at all, but Aether is quietly checking them to imitate he's actually improving.

It's all up until Aether gets called into the unit for an emergency de-escalation, seeing it as Dewdrop's room. He's screaming, standing on the bed and throwing things at the staff; shaking and crying his eyes out.

"Dewdrop?" Aether moves out of the way as a shampoo bottle is thrown near. "Hey! Hey... What's the matter?"

"Tell them to get the fuck out! Get out!!" Another item thrown.

"I can't do that until you stop throwing things, Dew. Maybe if you tell me what's going on, we can come to an agreement?"

"I—" Dew swallows pretty hard. "I just wanted to take a nap. A fucking nap! Next thing I know there's two dudes shaking me awake, they fucking touched me, and I just- I wanted to sleep!" The pillow is thrown.

Aether looks at the staff who's kinda sheepish, glaring at them. "I'm sorry that happened Dew. They were wrong for doing that, they should know better than to physically touch you especially while you're sleeping. Tell you what, you know that giant bean bag in my office?"

Dew sniffles, shaking and standing still but not throwing anything anymore. "Yeah...?"

"Why don't you come take a nap in my office? You'll be left alone, and I'll be right there. My only condition is you have to come down and stop throwing things, okay?"

"Tell them to back away and I will!"

"Okay, okay... Deep breaths." Turns to the staff and shoos them out of sight, showing his hands as he enters the room. "Alright. They moved. Your turn to hold the deal."

It takes a while before Dewdrop slowly steps down, hesitant before running to Aether, hugging him tight but only getting a light, nervous pat on his back in return. Gently escorted out of the unit and to his office, laid down in the corner and Aether's jacket over his torso. He's still sniffly and shaking, scratching at the bandages on his arm as he watches Aether sit at his desk and start paperwork.

"Dr. Quint?"

"Yes, Dew?"

"Why are you being so nice to me?"

It's said so soft, it almost breaks Aether's heart. "Because I care about you Dewdrop, and everyone deserves kindness, no matter who they are, what they're doing or done. It's a basic human affection."

It's silent after that, but it's what cracks Dew's shell and starts the lingering thoughts.

Dew is willingly telling Aether all his traumas and struggles, actually listening to advice being brought back, and it's starting to cause a very unhealthy attachment. Dew's never had a positive older male figure in his life, and Aether knows Dew is clinging and crossing professional boundaries but... He's allowing it. He likes Dew being around. Is actually filling out his forms properly, too.

Starts coming out more for supportive eating and trauma processing groups, how Dew clings to him as soon as he's in view inside the unit. Gosh, Aether loves it. He loves how he managed to break Dewdrop's shell. He managed to earn trust. He is the only one Dew wants. His biggest case he's finally started to crack, and Aether enjoys every bit of it.

Even as Dew starts trauma responding without realizing and getting flirty with Aether, it'll be softly reciprocated. Little things that's started being over thought; Aether keeps small snacks in his office he knows Dewdrop likes in case he misses an eating marker, and Dew takes that as Aether showing love. Aether doesn't correct the assumption.

All it takes is Aether doing a night round to assist with medications and being left alone in Dew's room, the only amab Dew can handle being in there so late and unsupervised. Watching him slowly blink and try to fight the sleep meds, rubbing Dew's shoulder.

"I love you..."

It's so soft from Dew's lips, and Aether can only smile as he leans down and whispers it back with a tiny peck. Watches Dew fall asleep before leaving, so excited, and feeling... Happy. Full. Motivated.

Aether's been single for a while, and he's never really felt so... Needed before! This is exciting him, his chest swelling, hands tingly. Dewdrop is basically a new hyperfixation of his. None of his other patients has his attention like this one, nor his desire for more.

Their sessions are becoming more and more closer, more intimate and honest.

"—It sounds like you have a fear of sex, right? It makes sense with all you've dealt with. Intercourse can honestly be a very scary thing, but not all the time. I think one thing that would definitely start helping you is to leave the lights on. Even when it's just you! You're able to see your surroundings and it erased the same factor you experienced for so long: it happening in the dark." Aether explaining as he looks as Dew on the bean bag he's claimed as 'his.'

It's so close near his desk. Was it purposeful? Maybe.

"Giving yourself time and more control over your body is the best way to start healing. Find what works for you until you feel safe to advance step-by-step."

It's so close that Dew lays his head on Aether's knee, who doesn't mind. Hand trailing up his pants leg and poking his long socks. "I feel safe to advance with you..."

Aether immediately eyes the door and his timer, locked and still with over thirty minutes left. Flicks back down to Dew who's hands have now started cradling his leg, massaging, and going up higher. He's not stopping him, he's not correcting the behavior, and he's most definitely violating multiple contract agreements.

Dewdrop moving to his knees, hands replaced on Aether's thighs, face looking up soft and wanting. "Can I advance with you, Dr. Quint?"

And he nods. Let's his body speak for itself as he's tented in his khakis. Eventually pulling out the single condom in his wallet after moving Dew to a clean spot on his desk and exploring what noises he'll have to muffle.

Tying off the full rubber, hiding it within paper towels and under his lunch, helping redress Dew who's smiling and curling on his lap to kiss him.

"We jumped some steps, didn't we?" All giggly, face tucked in Aether's neck, running a hand under his wrinkled button up.

Week five arrives and so does a packet on his desk asking if Dewdrop is suited enough to be discharged or if he'll stay longer. Aether is staring at it more and more, able to answer a majority honestly, but the last piece?

Could Dew technically go back to his previous impatient? Well, yes... He's reached enough markers to do so. But they'll ruin his progress! All Aether worked hard to get to. That space is too vulnerable, too unrestrictive. Dew needs stability, a routine, and walls. Aether can give that, so easily, and with a sign of his initials on the line.

He'll ignore the fact that he's not ready to let Dewdrop go yet.

Drops off the paperwork and leaves the therapist hallway to walk into the unit, looking for his beloved patient for their next session.

VENUS DOESN'T TAKE everything rafael says at face value. it's known he has a track record of saying whatever makes him look good even if it's at the expense of her emotions. even if it contradicts what he has said before. "rafael, you cheated on your ex wife and told me you had your share of fun before you got married so i'm not buying what you're selling when it comes to the whole foreign concept and casual hook-ups not being your thing. you met me and then you went and told your best friend that you're interested in entertaining people. so don't act like you're devoted. you don't have to overcompensate and sell me some dream image of you because you think it's what i want to hear." venus refuses to accept any extra lies from him. his stories are never straight. she doesn't want to be with anyone who tries to shift into an ideal man for her because she believes that's what went wrong with gabriel until his mask slipped. "your problem with chris is you think he has a shot again. you don't say it out loud but your actions say everything." she continues calling him out. she couldn't help herself. besides, she thinks these conversations are necessary. otherwise, there would be unwanted tension or rafael would jump to avoiding it. "i knew you were lying because you're not good at it. i'm trying to tell myself that you had good intentions but i don't think someone's intentions can be good if they're deliberately lying about something hurtful and they're aware of it. so it's more like you thought you were being the good guy." she rephrases his words with her own correction. her thinking has come a long way. "i like you but i'm strict now. i don't wanna repeat past mistakes and it's a little hard for me to not have the urge to run away. i tell you all of the time you remind me of my ex husband gabriel and that's not a good thing."

“i’d say yes, it interests me because i haven’t really ever considered it. it’s a foreign concept to me. i don’t think anything casual is my thing? then, there’s you… i met you.” rafael believes that he can’t fully embrace the bachelor life because being with venus in any capacity makes him want to profess his love to her, knowing that it’s too early to do such a thing. being trapped in this elevator, and having deep conversations isn’t necessarily helping him pull back. “christopher gets under my skin in a way that no one has ever been able to and it’s really starting to annoy me.” he pauses, furrowing his brows. “i care about you and i know who you are and what it is you do. i know people are going to be attracted to you and flirt. christopher rattles me up to the brink of visible anger. i can’t even describe it without sounding idiotic.” rafael is grateful for her patience and genuine concern. he can tell she’s worried about him and wants to do whatever she can too keep him relaxed. the conversation and reassurance that they’ll eventually get out is helping him a lot. he looks at her sincerely. “i thought i was protecting what we had. i shouldn’t have lied. you tell me everything, i should’ve given you the same courtesy.”

It's very easy to compare this situation to what Ja'Marr had at LSU with Joe Burrow and Justin Jefferson. And Ja'Marr has said Tee is very different than Justin Jefferson. That every single minute with Justin Jefferson was a competition. That everything was who makes the more dynamic catch, who has more catches in practice, who runs faster? Everything was that way. Ja'Marr had to speak up and demand the ball a lot at LSU, because so was Justin. Ja'Marr told me that he doesn't have to do that in Cincinnati because Tee, and this is a quote from Ja'Marr, is one of the most unselfish humans you'll ever meet.

Can someone explain what the narrative stakes are even supposed to be anymore in jjk. All the characters are essentially guaranteed to die, the current cast is comprised almost entirely of characters who showed up 2/3rds into the story and we're supposed to care about them for some reason, and I do not even know what the threat is supposed to be anymore. The apocalypse? Destruction of an amorphous innocent society? Like has ANYTHING been shown of "here's the regular world that apparently needs to be saved" or are we just supposed to assume "this society is just Real Life+, so you're REQUIRED to care if some guy threatens to kill all humanity, because one of those humanities may be... a child" or something. Can you spare two seconds to show anything other than some magic randos fighting, or is it just a superhero story all the time now, minus the fun. Remember when yuuji had friends.

Bad news, got back from the vet and my beautiful baby son is going to have to be put down soon, probably tomorrow or the next day, so send him best of wishes for his next few days~ Luckily, he's actually not in a lot of pain (for now, hopefully he won't be) and is acting pretty normal, so I'm hoping he won't suffer at all and everything will be peaceful for him.

I fucking don't. My mom trying to get on food stamps fucked me up because a lady I never met without my permission got my SSN from my mom and started editing my files. My heart still races to this very second whenever I think about it, it kinda messed me up bad and I'll never ever ever see any kind of recourse

And I'm terrified that I'm gonna lose my medicaid just cause I inherited some money from my grandpa

And I've never even applied for disability cause it kinda doesn't matter finding out if I'd qualify or not cause of my depression, when the rules are so restrictive I don't know if I've even be allowed to keep my house

I do not fucking trust these things on a personal level. I feel like out of a lot of people I have the most to fear from them cause I'm on the edge of having things work, and that gets you punished

...but I need medicaid in order to have insurance (and when you strip out the finance side of medicaid, I love medicaid... they're honestly incredible insurance... I just... I just... dental is like 90% of why medicaid is so important to me, ever since I found out this state pays for it I've actually been able to do cleanings which is important to me cause I can't always get myself to brush)

If there's gonna be a cut off on these programs, it needs to be a solid step above the poverty line, cause... by definition I assume poverty line denotes kinda the minimum expected income people can reasonably live off of, and if you take away benefits people are gonna lose a chunk of money to covering that stuff themself, so you need a buffer before you kick people off

I don't fucking trust the government for a second, I've actively been fucked by them and on a personal level I avoid everything but medicaid and only that cause everything but the money is pleasant to deal with and I kinda need it (honestly if I was rich I'm not even kidding that I'd rather give medicaid like $400 a month than some insurance company, I sincerely like them as insurance)

But I'd trust them a lot more if they were less punitive, less out to hunt me down and gut me cause someone handed me a fiver or cause I started to get on my feet, and if government employees had concrete rules they had to follow that were actually transparent and enforced

Like 90% of my problems with welfare go away if they're held accountable and there's less "catch the welfare cheats" mentality going around

I don't trust the government in the slightest, but sadly there some jobs it kinda has to do, so I'd just rather force it to be an open book where the public can keep an eye on it and if they step out of line there's consequences (sort of like I don't trust most mega corps but happen to sometimes need stuff from them... did you know literally every cell service provider has been illegally selling shit like your location data to random people like bounty hunters, and the FCC just slapped them with a fine that's 0.02% of their yearly incomes and debated even doing that? I even can offer a source on that)

...I don't trust much of any authority cause they constantly fail me and kinda screw me. Don't trust doctors either, but I still gotta go to them, you know? ...they're just... they're real bad at listening... so many systems need systemic change

(You know who I really don't trust is the cops. I could point to so many examples. My uncle doesn't trust cops either, and he's an ex Fire and SWAT paramedic, he worked with them and we still got into a long conversation where he basically tore into them far better than I can)
