I love my bike. I bought it with cash from a sketchy old man to piss off my parents. It was way too high cc for a beginner. The first time I got on it, it kicked out from under me and I separated the shoulder doctors had tried so hard to put back together.

Every time I drive it, I put on a helmet. I have to replace the helmet if I ever hit my head, because then it's compromised and it could explode. I put on Kevlar high-tops to keep my ankles from breaking. I wear an armored vest and a jacket to keep my organs inside my body. I carry multiple pieces of ID so first responders can identify me in a wreck.

When I brush my teeth or comb my hair, I see a scar under my eye from a piece of broken glass that was embedded in my skin. I'm one of the lucky ones.

Last month, a pediatric oncologist in Philadelphia was thrown off her bike and killed because a drunk man lost control of his car. He was flooring it the wrong way on a narrow city street.

Last night, two men were riding their bikes home in South Jersey to prepare for their sister's wedding. They happened to be hockey players. One car decided to slow down and pull away from them. Another man -- drunk, yes, but fundamentally angry and impatient -- decided to floor it and go around this slow, burdensome car. Killing both.

We get thoughts. We get prayers. We don't get any meaningful change. Because in Philly, on the Main Line, in South Jersey? The convenience of car drivers outweighs the lives of pedestrians. Of cyclists. Of motorcyclists.

I just want to leave my fucking house. I want to do everything right and not end up a splatter on the street.

I'm heartbroken for the Gaudreaus. For the Blue Jackets, who lost another teammate. For Kevin Hayes, who lost his best friend so soon after his brother's death.

But more than that, I'm fucking furious.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

i feel like people are skimming over the uk riots in a way that makes me want to tear my hair out. muslims in the uk are in active danger. immigrants in the uk are in active danger. refugees in the uk are in active danger. people of colour in the uk are in active danger. asian communities in the uk are in active danger. black communities in the uk are in active danger.

there are massive far right riots throughout the country right now and people like fucking elon musk and nigel farage are inciting it and still have a platform to speak. people have used three young girls deaths, people's genuine grief in southport, to try and gain traction for their own racist bullshit and it's working.

a lot of refugee charities have been forced to close leaving many people without support, homes, funding, food, etc. if you aren't able to donate please consider sending a message via the conversation over borders campaign! it will send a hopeful, welcoming letter to a refugee in the uk. there is also a guide to staying safe here.

please do your own research and donate to refugee charities, anti-islamophobia charities, mosques who are trying to rebuild after being destroyed, counter protesters, here are some i've heard positive things about but the list is extensive; southport strong together (support for the southport victims and their families), southport mosque rebuilding, riot repair fund, middlesbrough vulnerable residents, nasir mosque rebuilding, hull help for refugees, bristol welcomes migrants,

the fact that shakespeare was a playwright is sometimes so funny to me. just the concept of the "greatest writer of the English language" being a random 450-year-old entertainer, a 16th cent pop cultural sensation (thanks in large part to puns & dirty jokes & verbiage & a long-running appeal to commoners). and his work was made to be watched not read, but in the classroom teachers just hand us his scripts and say "that's literature"

just...imagine it's 2450 A.D. and English Lit students are regularly going into 100k debt writing postdoc theses on The Simpsons screenplays. the original animation hasn't even been preserved, it's literally just scripts and the occasional SDH subtitles.txt. they've been republished more times than the Bible

I am 99.9% certain Caitlyn is the one who breaks things off with Vi

In the pit fighter clip, Vi is clearly spiraling

She’s heavily drinking, sleeping in a closet for an apartment, has 0 regards for her safety or wellbeing or anything really

And I’ve seen a lot of people say Vi has a ton of reasons to spiral that don’t even have to do with Cait, which is so true but

She’s not having hallucinations of those things. She’s not hallucinating Vander or Mylo or even Jinx, she’s hallucinating Caitlyn

She sees her in the crowd dancing, she sees her in the Kiramman crest flags (hanging in the undercity for some reason? 🤔)

And we also see this guy hanging out with Vi at the bar and basically taking care of her, is one of the enforcers from Caitlyn’s squad

So while Vi does have a lot of reasons to spiral that have nothing to do with Caitlyn, whatever happened between them was the last straw
