And they picked "President Trump" as the authority figure who said he would figure things out politically and get them back.

You're implying TikTok is too stupid to understand the very clear press release from Biden that said it was okay for them to carry on. That enforcing the law was specifically going to be left to the incoming administration.

You're also implying the company was ignorant of the legislation that effected them directly, which specifically said they were only not allowed to send updates for the application.

So you're either racist toward Chinese, thinking them incapable of basic comprehension, or you're being purposefully obtuse.

To everyone's surprise, that is what happened.

To no one's surprise. This was a grift from the beginning. Trump was the rallying voice to ban TikTok August 2020.

Again, the company isn't stupid enough to forget this.

And here we are. Tiktok is not liking the negative backlash against the Trump and Elon Musk working group who got things done. To Tiktok, they're the ones who got TikTok back. These negative comments could be dangerous given recent history re: President Trump. So they're removing negative comments.

Both comments in the pictures have nothing to do with Trump, or Musk. So your assumption here is flawed on a foundational level.

Rhetorically, there is no reason to call Trump a bad name here and contribute to the void of an echo chamber. TikTok traced back the "bad people" calling the President bad names and it seems to be left-wing politic people without a real platform to stand on. Tagged as misinformation, it is.

Again. None of the presented items had anything to do with Trump. If I had the inclination I'm 110% certain I could go onto TikTok right now and find dozens of videos and items filled with misinformation about queer folk and history and those items will be intact. I think the wildest thing about the TikTok Ban is that TikTok decided to adhere to it beyond the letter of the law.

They bent their knee willingly and gave up space and a platform they did not have to. They consciously decided to fuck over their user base when there was no valid reason for them to do so.

I've seen people talking about how you absolutely do not want to obey ahead of authority, and to see TikTok do it is... weird. It's unsettling. It feels like a dangerous stunt.

Specifically, it feels performative. It's got the marks of a Great Drama™, and given Trump's first 4 years and his absolutely bonkers love for theatrics over anything else, this just feels hollow. Like TikTok is trying to turn it's - generally younger - user base into "fans" of the republicans.

They can't really scoop up youths any other way, honestly. But using a big impactful story and putting Trump as the "hero" who saves their beloved platform.

It's not even the 20th and I just don't like how this new administration is starting. I do not like a private company complying beyond the letter of the law in advance of that law either. Because the only thing the law laid down was that they couldn't update the app on Apple and Google.

There wouldn't have been any fines or legal ramifications.

Scarabia, Pomefiore, and Ignihyde have yet to show their washroom designs; this means that we will see Scarabia’s washroom in Kalim’s Relax in Room card, Pomefiore’s washroom in Vil or Epel’s, and Ignihyde’s washroom in Ortho’s. That means we won’t see all the washrooms until mid-August 2025 😔

Regarding Ortho, I’m pretty sure the devs will bring able to pretty easily make up some convenient explanation for why he is going to the washroom. For example, Ortho cannot typically eat but he states in a Birthday Gear voice line that, “Idia said this was a special day, so he hooked me up with this Oral-Energy-Intake Gear! It's so nice getting to eat food with everybody else.” This establishes that Ortho can have augmentations to appear more “human”, so maybe he will have a similar thing happen for his Relax in Room card.

Another possibility is maybe Ortho genuinely needs something that’s only in the washroom, such as mirrors. Just because he’s a robot doesn’t mean he doesn’t need to take care of his body, right?? Like perhaps Ortho wants to polish and buff out his metal plating to make sure it’s nice and shiny. In both this case and the previous one I described, it helps to make Ortho feel more like an ordinary boy.

I should note that, based just on the 4 washrooms we have right now, it's not clear if there are showers there?? It looks like mainly sinks, vanities, and washing + drying machines for clothes. Maybe the toilets and showers are in a separate location/room or are just out of view of the onlooker (us, the players).

So from what I gather, after opting out, Ja'Marr went back home (Harvey, Louisiana - close to NOLA) until about November, when he moved to Dallas to get ready for the draft. In the Najee-Jaylen-Ja'Marr house thing they did (which includes what Pro Day was like post-COVID and has some other videos about the draft itself), Ja'Marr says himself that he hasn't actually been at the LSU campus ever since he opted out. (Also if you look at his twitter, he was live-tweeting LSU games lol).

Everything else below are articles mentioning Ja'Marr going to Dallas, as well as some other information regarding COVID-era Ja'Marr, sprinkled with my own little comments in between 🙂

So first off, the Dallas thing is specifically mentioned in this article by the Advocate (I'm going to include the necessary paragraphs bc some of these are paywalled smh)

The Athletic (which i honestly trust more) goes more into detail into Ja'Marr's exact location. Apparently, Ja'Marr moved from Baton Rouge back home (it sounds like it was about September). Then in November, he went to Dallas. This article also includes some more information on Ja'Marr's experience in quarantine. That quote by Ja'Marr's dad really opened my eyes, because Ja'Marr was never really alone before this. He was always part of a team, always surrounded by people until... well, he wasn't. (Also now that I think about it, Ja'Marr did say he started watching tape because of Joe and apparently spent most of this year -which was away from Joe- watching tape... maybe it reminded him of Joe 👀)

Ja’Marr stayed in Baton Rouge initially after opting out in August. He remained close with his teammates, especially the receiving corps at first. But once the season cranked up, Ja’Marr moved back home, feeling a sense of isolation without football... “We kept him close to home. We noticed that he was struggling a little bit. Life without football. Life without a team. His whole life changed. It was his first time not playing sports since he was a young kid. Gamedays were the hardest day.” One thing jumped out to Jimmy as they watched games together, though. He never fully grasped his son’s football IQ. “We watched the games with him,” Jimmy said. “He would call the plays before the snap was gone.  And he would say how Terrace (Marshall) needs to do this because the defense is about to do this. And Racey (McMath) needs to do this so he needs to watch out for this. He’d call the play and I was like, ‘Damn!’ It would happen just like he said. So sitting out actually helped in that sense. He never really watched football. He was always playing. Now all he could do was watch it. He told me and I saw how much it helped him.” Watching games with Ja’Marr, his parents sensed his pent-up energy. He was healthy, but he wasn’t playing. The energy fed right into Ja’Marr’s passion for working out. He’d run to the gym often after games to let that energy free. This Sports Illustrated article further confirms he was in Dallas for at least part of 2020-2021. It also adds that Ja'Marr was so pent-up that he apparently wanted to opt back in (probably bothered by LSU being kinda shit that year -that third game, LSU lost 45-41 💀).

Last thing, if you were wondering about the team meeting in the first article, here's what information i found. Again, I don't know how reliable The Advocate actually is and unlike the article above, this is literally the only source I found that mentions this. I don't recall Ja'Marr or any other LSU players saying anything remotely negative about Orgeron - most of them say he was a great coach!

Tony was a junior at Midtown tech, and Peter was a sophomore. They saw each other in the halls occasionally, but Tony was the genius bad boy, millionaire's son. Peter was just a nerd who was only there because of his scholarship. But when Peter beat Tony by one point for the top grades in the entire school, Tony took notice.

He kept tabs on the boy during the summer. It wasn't creepy. They were schoolmates, after all. Tony just wanted to make sure the kid was staying out of trouble, so nothing affected his scholarship... That he found out about by hacking into the school's system. Which, if they didn't want someone to hack into it, then they shouldn't have made it so easy. Duh.

So anyways, if Tony just so happened to bump into the kid a few times a week during the summer break, it was a coincidence. Queens wasn't that far from Manhattan. Besides, Tony really loved shawarma, and if Peter just so happened to be working at a little shop during his summer break, it was just a coincidence. Also, Tony is clumsy. So if he broke his phone... five times... in two months, and he just so happens to go to the little place Peter was working his second job at as a cute little IT nerd, it was a coincidence.

And it's definitely not coincidence if Tony stayed in Peter's radar all summer just so when they went back to school in the fall, Tony seemed more approachable to him. Saying hi in the halls was normal. A slap on the back and a smile in passing was normal. Tony was a senior now, and as a senior, he had to look out for his underclassmen. Peter being a junior this year just made it easier.

Tony inviting Peter to his car for lunch and introducing him to his first hit of weed was their new normal. Tony quickly learns that Pete isn't too good at inhaling, so shot gunning becomes their new-new norm. Peter's cheeks flaring red as Tony leans in and blows into his mouth. Lips barely scraping, but the suggestion is there.

Peter becoming a giggly little mess next to him is Tony's favorite school activity. Huddling close or leaning over him as their lips barely touch is better than anything he's ever experienced thus far. Although the teen has high hopes for the future. The future being just a few weeks later at home coming.

"Pete. Me me in the Bentley after last bell. Let's toke a little before the game." Tony says close to Peter's ear as he passes him in the hall. Pete smiled and nodded. Now Tony just had to wait another hour. He was itching in his skin since he had to skip their luncheon earlier in favor of fixing the sound booth for the game tonight. He needed his fix, and he didn't mean the weed.

He wasn't sure exactly when Peter became an obsession over a distraction. If he had to guess, it was probably during August when he learned Peter was working those jobs not to buy new tech stuff but to help pay for his school supplies for the upcoming year. The kid was not only smart, but he was genuine and hard working and so damn kind. Nothing like the people in Tony's world. Tony started leaving bigger tips after that.

"Hey Tony!" Peter smiled wide when he saw the other teen waiting for him near the car. He didn't even hesitate anymore, just slid into the passenger seat like it was his. Tony loved it.

"Hey Petey-boy. How'd your day go?" Tony asked as he ducked into the car too.

"Same as usual." Pete shrugged.

"Being the smartest guy in your grade, smarter than most teachers even so you're bored out of your mind, and you start drawing up new schematics for your next carbon energy engine?"

"Medical supplies." Peter corrected.

"Semantics." Tony smirked and lit up the joint. Taking that first deep inhale was beyond satisfying. He looked to Peter as he exhaled. "Ready, pretty boy?"

Peter licked his lips and then nodded, inching just a little closer to the other. He opened his mough, parting his lips into a pretty "O" like Tony taught him.

"Good boy" Tony murmured before taking a hit. Peter's breath caught as Tony exhaled into the other's mouth, lips brushing this time. A little surprised moan left Peter before he quickly turned away to couch. When he faced Tony again, his eyes were wide and lip cheeks a bright red.

Fuck it. Tony didn't bother using the excuse of the joint this time. He just pulled the boy closer to him and dived into those soft lips. It took Peter a moment for his brain to catch up, but as soon as it was back online, he let out a long, needy whine that Tony swallowed down. "That's it, good boy." He praised the younger teen who gripped on to Tony's shirt tightly.

They were very late to homecoming that night, yet they never left the school parking lot.

Smoking sessions quickly became make out sessions, and they started expanding their geographical borders. It wasn't just the school parking lot, but out by the old drive ins. Outside the garden park. In a parking garage on the top floor... anywhere they could find to be alone together.

Ryan in stunned. Of course she realizes August does things with a purpose, case and point she has been stuck in his penthouse for a month now. But she'd never expect something like this, something so elaborate. She's overwhelmed and it's a mixture of feeling good but also mass confusion and uncertainty. Ryan swallows and puts the note into the pocket of her sweatpants, nodding to Vic.

"I went to school for fashion. I was trying to work my way up at this designer company, but I was stuck so I had a diner job too," Ryan shares with Vic and she's surprised at herself for being honest but something like this does mean something to her. She reaches over and picks up her book, opening to a random page to show Vic and shrugs.

While Ryan doesn't know how to feel about this, there's a small fire that begins to burn inside of her again that feels like herself. So she makes a couple of trips back and forth to carry everything into the room. The sewing machine is a beast, sturdy as she sets it on the desk in the bedroom and huffs softly.

Ryan doesn't touch it for the rest of the day, almost waiting to see if it's a joke and August will come and remove it but nothing happens. She eats three meals, has coffee and ice cream and stares at the damn machine all day and night until it gets to just about 11pm. That's when Ryan finally sits at the desk and turns it on, the little screen bright and beckoning her to do something. Ryan twists her hair up into a bun and opens the notebook to a random page, a dress she sketched out and begins to get to work.

Honestly? Vic is impressed.

He knows that August isn't always the fuzziest person to approach in general. He's hard-headed, passionate, sometimes leads with his fist or cruel, sharp words. But...he's also grown up with him. The guy has a huge heard buried underneath a lockbox made of six-inch steel. When he wanders into the penthouse this morning and sees all this shit laid out on the counter, clearly for one person, he can't help but smirk.

Because this? Is showing that he cares. As fucked up as it might be. And that...that means something to Vic. Every time he worries that August might be losing himself to his work, he does something like this that reminds him he's still in there.

He glances up at Ryan as he has a sip of coffee, enough made for her as well. A smile tugs up the corners of his lips,

"August rarely does anything without being serious about it." He licks his lips, "You like stuff like this?"
