The thing that did it for me in this update is the fact that MK reaching for Wukong while Macaque holds him is kinda mirrorring the time he turned into a baby and was reaching for Macaque while Wukong held him.

MC has PTSD from chapter 4 (you know the one), and no one can convince me otherwise, so I re-wrote the auction bits from Sylus's POV to fix this grievous oversight, because I am also firmly convinced he is a champ at handling MC's trauma.

I thought that MC was too mean to Sylus in his 4 star No Way Out card, and I didn't like it, so I fixed it. I mean, I rewrote how it went like a proper rabid fan.

Sylus answers some questions, receives dating advice from a dubious source, makes a deal you can't refuse, receives a birthday invitation, and plans to take you home for the night.

Sylus makes one final miscalculation. You wake up from a nightmare in a place you weren't ready to revisit. Sylus has to reckon with the inevitable consequences of how he treated you when you first met him, but you're paying the higher price.

You just let out a groan, too far sunk into the spiral of self-hatred to claw yourself back out.

König rises from his spot on the bed a greets you with disapproving, half-lidded eyes in the mirror.

“What is it this time?”

You answer with an annoyed hum.

Konig will place his big, sturdy hands on your bare hips from behind, leaning down to plant a soft kiss on your shoulder.

The gentle peck distracts you from the strong arms scooping you up, a squeak leaving you as he sweeps you off your feet in one swift motion, ripping away your view of yourself in the mirror.

“König!”

“What?” He draws, carrying you from the bathroom to the bedroom.

“Put me down!” You say through a giggle, kicking your feet in his restraint.

“Hold on, I just have to get my curls in.”

He holds you horizontally across those strong arms, muscles tensing as he lifts and lowers you while you giggle all the way.

“I’m too heavy for this!”

“Barely a warm-up, liebling.”

He effortlessly tosses you onto the bed with a bounce, crawling over top you before you can even finish your squeal.

He showers kisses all over your bare tummy, his stubble sanding against plush, soft skin. Trailing his slobbering kisses up to your chest, giving your perfect breasts plenty of love. Your thighs would be last, showering you with pecks and even licking slow stripes across the flesh.

“König!”

“What?”

He’ll feign innocence, but that cocky smirk on his face betrays him.

ITS BEEN SO LONG!!!

If you didn’t know, I have been on an impromptu hiatus for a little less than a year now. It started out as me extending my comic dates and ended up being a massive break.

Despite this, many of you still waited for me! Giving me frequent asks and commenting on my posts, which I am endlessly thankful for.

I would be lying if I said there was a specific reason behind my disappearance, but it wasn’t for nothing!

I was getting more and more discouraged with my own work. Although pretty easy to do, I didn’t feel confident in my ability to stay true to the book and its characters. A lot of JTTW is interpretational, so I failed to understand certain nuisances present without cultural context.

So in my break I took the time to actually work on getting more involved with the culture!

I decided to take a Chinese Language course! Then with the encouragement of my professor, joined their Chinese club. Many of my assignments involved cultural engagement, which I also attended to make some new friends.

Eventually my professor recommended me for a scholarship opportunity, which takes place in Shanghai! (上海）

I will be going in June

The longest drives were to Acadia (3 -> 4) and to the Badlands (15 -> 16). Also I messed up on Day 21 by saying the dino park was in Colorado. It is, in fact, very much in Utah. Oops.

I also missed out on a lot of cool National Parks, but maybe that's a trip for another time..
