What the different BAU men would do if asked to hold your bag/purse for you when you go the bathroom.
GN!reader|sfw
Aaron Hotchner
Okay so this man is like. The biggest gentleman ever of course. So when you approach him during a team night out with your bag he takes it without hesitation to your question.
"Of course, it's safe with me."
He is very protective of it, gripping onto it to his chest with one arm and hand whilst the other holds onto his drink as he sips periodically. He doesn't pay any mind when the others eye him curiously, and when you return he smiles slightly and holds out your bag to you.
"Here you go. Don't hesitate to ask me again as well, sweetheart."
He has to admit, he adores the delighted grin you offer in return when you thank him for holding your bag. And he's able to drown out the chuckles of the other members of the team because he's certain he probably looks like a lovesick puppy.
Derek Morgan
Derek raises his brow with a teasing grin as you ask him to hold your bag for you.
"Mind if I take a lil peek?" He jokes, chuckling when you babble at him not to look, panic flashing in your eyes. "Relax, sweets. I'm not gonna look."
Holds it under his muscular arm and stares down anyone who gives him a funny look. He's shameless, plus he's happy you trust him to take care of your stuff.
You return momentarily and look relieved to see him holding it protectively. He smiles and holds it out to you when you're close enough.
"There you go, sweets. Don't worry, I didn't look inside." He winks at you and you lightly shove him, pouting playfully. He loves teasing you.
Spencer Reid
Man's shook when you ask him of all people to hold your bag for a moment.
"Me? I-I mean of course I'll hold it!" He hates that his voice cracked but you don't seem to mind though, smiling sweetly and thanking him before you turn away and disappear to find the restroom.
He is holding onto the bag straps so tightly that his knuckles are turning white. No-one is getting hold of this bag, if it's the last thing he'll ever be sure of. Derek saunters over with a grin and chuckles as he points out how tight his grip is. But even as he feels heat rush to his cheeks, he dutifully holds on tight to your bag.
Your return makes him smile with relief, but he holds on tight to the bag even as you now come to stand face-to-face with him. You hold your hand out and ask for your bag back and he flushes. "R-right yeah, here!" He said quickly and holds the bag out, grip still strong until you take hold of it.
You giggle softly and thank him, and he grins awkwardly as he watches you turn away and head off elsewhere. It's only when he feels Derek's hand lightly land on his shoulder that he refocuses and embarrassment floods his senses. Hopefully, he'll be more confident in himself next time you ask him to hold your bag.
David Rossi
When you timidly approach Dave at the table he's seated at with Aaron and hold out your bag to him, he raises a brow at you when you ask him to hold your bag for you for a moment.
"Hm? You want me to take care of it for you? Of course, tesoro."
He places it on the table in front of him, not without smoothing his hands over the surface slightly because well, he is fond of you after all. Aaron huffs out a quiet snort, raising his brow with a grin at him. Dave shakes his head and waves him off.
You're quick to return with a shy smile, thanking him sweetly for keeping an eye on your bag. He picks up the bag and holds it out to you, making sure you've secured it before he drops his arm. "Anytime, tesoro. I'll look after it for you."
He winks at you and delights in your flustered movements, meeting his eye and as Aaron stands and gives him a pointed look, Dave pulls out a chair next to him and invites you to join him for the evening.
Lmao this was probably shit but I'm not too confident writing for other characters 😭😭 I hope people enjoyed tho regardless KSSKSK

April 3, 2024: Positivity, D.A. Powell
Positivity D.A. Powell
“Anyway, it isn’t forever,” Chris said, “eventually you’re dead.” And we laughed
Besides, everything is better now. Not us but implants, blenders, children, heart attacks. There’s never been a better time to be alive than when you are. If you are. Black-throated blue warbler says chewchewchewchewchewww drawing the last chew out like a sucking drainpipe to say he has mated and is satisfied. Say what you will about that. His joy is uncontainable
and yet it has a form, a measure, to make it clear he’s not upset or feeling anxious. And if he’s bragging, well, it’s no shame to brag that you’re happy.
Honeybees cavorting on the goldenrod are working toward a common goal they’ll never see achieved. They lay down the walls of their cathedral of honeycomb and will not cope the spire, busy in the present task, trusting that the work continues. I’d like to write a children’s book called everybody dies. Upbeat, of course, and pragmatic. You only got so many days. Don’t think about death; when you’re ready, death will think about you. Go out tonight with your friends, like Chris, who went out big or not at all. Have a ball. Plan ahead.

Hear the poet read this aloud.

RE Actor AU!
I thought I could hide it but I really can't anymore
*this is mostly about wesker but will I apologize? Nah. Imma do my own thing.
A/N: these are very, VERY self-indulgent
Warnings: None, just fluff and crack
Also this is my first post in Tumblr so idk how do texts/posts works in here :p
This was created because my current hyperfixation rn is wesker (YES)
You'd think with his role he'd be uptight and quite the serious actor. Yknow those types.
Oh boy oh boy would you look at that. He just brought another coffee for everyone on set.
MF LITERALLY IS ONE, IF NOT THE MOST, KINDEST PERSON YOU'LL MEET.
Always there to help crews moving their things, especially the heavy ones like camera.
Helps fellow actors with their script and scene.
But the most noteworthy trait of his is being a family man.
WOFJWISHJS GODDD HOLD ON
He literally SHOWS OFF his twins to his co-workers.
Everyone is a victim
"Chris look at this. They're walking"
"Yeah you showed that to me like five times alr-"
"they're WALKING"
Okay biggest victims are Chris and Leon
Jill and Chris are people who entered the industry the same time as Albert and has worked on multiple projects with each other. Hence, their closeness.
Now back to the general cast
Chris and Claire are literally siblings in real life
This franchise is actually Ada's first acting role in the industry! Which immediately became a huge boom to her career, which she didn't expect.
She was actually originally working as a stunt woman, but one time a manager suggested her to do acting after seeing her try to double a character since the original actor was sick, and she couldn't be more thankful that she took the risk.
She's very skilled in martial arts!
She and Albert are some of the few casts that don't do double-stunts.
Leon is a child actor starting from the age of 7.
Came from a very wealthy (aristocratic) family
ABSOLUTELY IDOLIZES ALBERT
Y'know that one story of Tom Holland when he talked about RDJ and was absolutely stunned when he entered the set?
Yep. That's literally Leon on his first day on set.
Look. He's worked with a lot of big shot names. Cate Blanchett, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, you name it!
But has he ever worked with this man with basically a face and body carved by the greek gods themselves, slicked back hair, and possibly the smoothest and healthiest skin ever, who's basically his entire fucking idol and goal to work with? NO!
So why, should he NOT FREEZE UP when he finally met him on set?
Albert saw a blonde, handsome boy sticking out like a sore thumb from the entrance of the set. He quickly realizes that this is the actor they cast for the protagonist. He walks up to them and smiled warmly.
"Hey! we got a new face around here. You must be Leon Kennedy right? Nice to meet you! I'm Albert Wesker"
He stretched out his hand to shake with him, but all Leon could think was
"oh my god... it's ALBERT FUCKING WESKER"
Poor blondie basically stopped working for a few seconds, before he realized how stupid he looked and was on his way to ruin his first impression.
He quickly snapped out of his shock and went to shake his hands and OH MY GOD THEY'RE SO SMOOTH AND WARM AND HIS SMILE--
Had to take a breather when he went to his tent after that encounter.
After that and throughout the shooting, they became closer and eventually became close friends
Which is how Albert met you but that's for another story.
Carlos has a HUGE and I mean, simp level of huge, crush on Jill.
This man really was the real smooth operator cause when he heard that Jill, together with a male character, will be the MC for the third franchise? Oh this man was on a MISSION.
Immediately auditioned and prepared for the role like his life was on the line (on his defense, it was)
The first to hear about this was Chris.
Which he then gossiped to Albert.
To which they both supported Carlos by giving him tips about what Jill likes, hates, her fave foods, her favorite movies, all of that and etc.
CHRIS AND ALBERT #1 VALEVEIRA SHIPPER 💯
Literally had them plotting the most insane shits for a date
Thankfully, their shenanigans bear fruit after a year when Jill finally accepted him as her boyfriend.
Man was so over the moon, he deadass called the other two in the middle of the night to talk about what happened.
Albert was NOT happy being interrupted in his sleep, but decided to let it slide hearing the joy in the younger man's voice.
After all, he wasn't so different when the same thing happened to him with you.
Oh also, did I ever mention that Albert ADORES children?
Which is why he found Sherry so cute! Even though she plots pranks with Leon and Claire occasionally.
Throughout the years, they have become absolutely close friends that they consider each other as family (I'm starting to hear Dom Toretto)
Leon and Ada also eventually became a couple after years of painful pining (the rest of the cast and crew had to suffer witnessing their years of pining for each other)
They often do a late night chats with each other, sometimes they do IG live together when everyone's free.
The fans ABSOLUTELY eats them up because it's their source of meme and crack content from the cast.
The Behind The Scenes were filmed by almost all of them, or whoever wants to.
Tons of them are Chris tripping over almost everything.
Claire trying her stunts and being extremely proud when she successfully does one without her double.
Carlos just playfully punching and having beef with the camera.
It also includes Albert teaching Ada some stunts on how to do them better and more safely, and vice-versa.
And then you got Luis, Ashley, and Leon straight up doing a mukbang ASMR for one of their BTS (they failed horribly cause they, especially Luis, can't stop laughing)
Luis tries teaching Ashley spanish but eventually gave up. But after a few months, Ashley came up to him and said in almost perfect spanish "soy un raton rubio"
Loverboy felt like a proud parent he started singing out of nowhere.
*I feel like I really have so much more to put but maybe I've finally exhausted my ideas so here they are!

‘The Gilded Age’ Season 2 Behind the Scenes: How Fashion Defines Each Character (PHOTOS)

Julian Fellowes, the creator of Downton Abbey (2011-2016) [mod note: on PBS in the US], set that upstairs-downstairs series at a palatial British estate on the eve of World War I. He moved his newest costume drama Stateside to the streets of New York City. Set in the late 1800s, The Gilded Age, which has its second-season premiere on Sunday, October 29 on HBO (streaming on Max), pits the new money of railroad barons against the old money of New York society. The powerful fight for control of the city and use their wealth to measure social success. And dressing for success was its own full-time occupation.
When researching women’s fashion in 1800s New York, the show’s costume designer Kasia Walicka-Maimone saw one thing clearly: “Their life was a catwalk. There was this enormous excitement” when the ladies trekked the bustling, dusty streets of Manhattan. Her job was to recreate that excitement for contemporary viewers of The Gilded Age.
Fashion as a Sign of Status
Who’s doing all this promenading? Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) arrived in NYC with no money and was taken in by her aunts Ada (Cynthia Nixon) and Agnes (Christine Baranski), both living off an inheritance. Then the newly affluent Russells—headed by railroad baron George (Morgan Spector) and wife Bertha (Carrie Coon), who is determined to break into polite society—moved in across the street.

The frill thrills continue in Season 2, especially in a pivotal garden party scene (pictured below) that TV Insider observed being filmed in September 2022 at New York’s lavish Old Westbury Gardens estate. (Westbury House was previously home to an heir of the Phipps family, real-life Gilded Age figures whose patriarch made his fortune alongside Andrew Carnegie at his steel company.) On set was Fellowes, whose smart black suit and tie were the only dark hues around.

Historically Accurate Costumes
It’s a testament to the wardrobe department that the stunning colors of the sprawling grounds nearly pale in comparison to the vibrancy of the women’s period garb. Despite the sepia-toned images in history books, Walicka-Maimone says, those bright tints are decidedly historically accurate. She has a library of more than 35,000 reference images to prove it.
“It’s shocking to our modern eye to see the explosion of color from that period,” she said. Production designer Bob Shaw (who won an Emmy for his work on Gilded Age) was present to share his creative process, which, just as Walicka-Maimone described of her own work, is “deeply steeped in history.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/560d65486500fd86c57c3fbd995e6eaa/f02ae2090da69e04-85/s540x810/ce807f091f5d3c3ba96e599892f7c61f69d1d58b.jpg)
Nicole Brydon Bloom joins the cast for Season 2, pictured here at the garden party with Blake Ritson’s Oscar van Rhijn (Credit: Barbara Nitke/HBO)
He does note that, when deciding between “what is correct and what feels correct,” the latter always wins. Creative liberties are taken to “build [character] histories into the costumes,” Walicka-Maimone added.
A Garden Party to Remember
Take Brit newcomers Dashiell Montgomery (David Furr) and his daughter, Frances (Matilda Lawler), for example. Nephew by marriage to Baranski’s Agnes, Dashiell requires more “toned-down” attire suitable for social outings, which contrasts with Season 1’s primarily business and formal menswear.

Aurora Fane (Kelli O’Hara) and husband Charles Fane (Ward Horton) attend the garden party in ‘The Gilded Age’ Season 2 (Credit: Barbara Nitke/HBO)
Dashiell must escort Frances through society in his late wife’s absence. One consideration for Walicka-Maimone: “This is a girl who doesn’t have a mother, so there’s probably extra care from all the other family members in [dressing her],” she said.
Meanwhile, Marian, who Jacobson said is “shining this season and sees herself in [younger] Frances,” will be more open to a strategic marriage. Marian’s “not necessarily cynical” after being jilted by Tom Raikes (Thomas Cocquerel) in last season’s finale, the actress continued, but the heartbreak gives her a “spice and edge.”
Don’t count out the possibility of a romance with Larry Russell (Harry Richardson), son of the railroad titan, which was teased last year. Jacobson shared: “They will definitely continue to deepen their friendship.” Old money and new money unite!

Flowers and Fake Marble: How TV Production Designers Create the Past (The New York Times)
“I always say that if there were a marble Olympics, our team would definitely take the gold,” Bob Shaw bragged.
Shaw, the Emmy-winning production designer of the HBO drama “The Gilded Age,” was discussing the painstaking effort and maddening attention to detail that goes into painting a wooden column so that the camera can’t help but read it as stone. The scenic artists of “The Gilded Age” can paint a half-dozen distinct marble varieties. To pause at nearly any frame of the show is to marvel at the meticulous mix of authentic materials and brilliant fakes. Look closely at the candelabras, for example: They are fitted with fire-safe LEDs hooked to wavering filaments that substitute for open flame.
Though production design is often seen as a mere backdrop to the action, the scenery, furnishings, finishes and props have their own stories to tell. And these stories are often especially intricate in period dramas, in which a need for accuracy must accommodate narrative demands and the constraints of a show’s budget.
[...]
Flowers were not enough.
In the first season of “The Gilded Age,” the home of Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon), the wife of a railroad magnate (Morgan Spector), was garlanded with fields of flowers for each social event. So even though the script for the first episode of Season 2, which premieres on HBO on Oct. 29, described the Russell home as resplendent with flowers, Shaw knew he had to do more.
In a scene at the close of the episode, Bertha, a patron of the nascent Metropolitan Opera, arranges a surprise performance of a song from Gounod’s “Faust” by the Swedish soprano Christine Nilsson. While her guests are dining, her sumptuous staircase is transformed into Marguerite’s garden. There are flowers, yes, a mix of real and artificial ones, garlanding the railings. But above the staircase are several panels of hand-painted Italian scenery, as would have been seen in the opera houses of the day.
“It was a challenge to have it be beautiful and evocative and tasteful and not be cute,” Shaw said. “It conveys that Bertha goes to extremes beyond what anyone could imagine to get what she wants.”
The result is ostentatious but still gorgeous. This is a line that Shaw and his team often walk, on lush carpeting. “The Gilded Age” dramatizes the conflict between new money, like the Russells, and old money, like their near neighbors, Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) and Ada Brook (Cynthia Nixon). The excesses of the new money crowd gave the Gilded Age its name, but whether in the studio or filming on location in various historic homes, Shaw balances lavishness with restraint.
“In all of the houses that we did, we had to back off a little bit from the 100 percent period look,” Shaw said. “Because it’s too much visual information for modern eyes.” He is careful to avoid using the set decoration, a combination of period furniture and scenic art, to judge or insult the characters.
“They’re more complex,” he said. “They’re not simply out to say, ‘Anything you can have I can have bigger.’”

April 13, 2024: Broken Periodic, Maya C. Popa
Broken Periodic Maya C. Popa
No one who has ever had a childhood wants what’s happening. No one who has ever wondered anything: where the rain’s headed in her steel hooves. Questions wrongly put swell like moths under a light. On the streets, everything looks human. You forget certain animals are bloodless injured. You must imagine some other color that means hurt. At night, you sleep with something like your gifts: to anguish and ascribe a language, music. To slice a fig the long way and linger. To grieve for a country. To grieve without a country to grieve.

JELLY ROLL - "HALFWAY TO HELL"
youtube
Our highest-scoring single to date from any artist threatened by Waffle House...
[4.40]
Taylor Alatorre: Whitsitt Chapel is a solid album, but "Halfway to Hell" is something a teacher might put on the overhead projector to illustrate how not to write a thesis statement. "Webster's Dictionary defines 'backsliding' as..." and so forth. The single spells out its themes with such unvarying bluntness that it feels like an ill-fated attempt to clone the entire album in miniature. It's understandable that an erstwhile Memphis rap understudy would want to sand down his pill-popping, sizzurp-sipping past in order to meet his big Nashville moment; we wouldn't be writing about him otherwise. But when you start a song off with such a beguiling audio fragment of a Baptist sermon at the outer edges of the universe, then smother it in the cradle with a bunch of Mad Lib dualisms and Truck Month theatrics, the calculated inoffensiveness threatens to actually offend. [4]
Andrew Karpan: Another somewhat singular creature of country music's endless push for authenticity, this time produced by the same label as Jason Aldean, with a kind of dirtbag grit that would make Post Malone blush. Which is to say that it's a record that creaks and growls — often convincingly — but to what end? [4]
Alfred Soto: Decent rumbler halfway between Eric Church and Mumford and Sons. If I'm honest with myself, Morgan Wallen's done this rue-on-a-Sunday better of late. [5]
Nortey Dowuona: Zach Crowell was part of the production crew that made Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road." He was also part of the production team of "Kinfolks." So in theory, he should be able to produce a barn-burning gospel country record, but instead he produces a thinly rendered WWE parody of such. The problem is at first the drumkit. The kick pattern of the first verse is solid, allowing Jelly to take hold in the mix, swell up during the pre-chorus, and soar into the chorus itself. But the loud snare smacks in the second verse and chorus distract from the banal lyrics; the line about a chariot carrying him away is the only one that's compelling. You could never tell this man has actually survived the reality of dancing between sin and salvation because the production is neither lush and glossy enough to carry him away, not rough enough to sweep him into hell. Which makes me think: Where's the Zach Crowell who produced "2016"? [4]
Jacob Sujin Kuppermann: This is such a WWE entrance theme banger – I'm finding it hard to critique without imagining flamethrowers and dramatic ring walk spectacle. What do you even do with something this overwrought when you just hear it on the radio or in a playlist? [6]
Mark Sinker: This guy takes the first two-thirds of jazz co-inventor Ferdinand Joseph LaMothe’s very well-known stage name and fuses it with maybe-unmeant echoes of AC/DC / Chris Rea title-fu. As a mode of faith, this should (by the demands of its expressed content) be more generic in form than not, that to believe is to be one of billions in similar plight, while the One that’s truly Original and Particulate is the Inexpressible Object of the Belief… and so all along the lines, until it rides off into its wide-open infinite expanse of many-times-heard-before reverb. And counter this, a reason not to concern-troll an entire religion is that any church with actual-real riz will be divided against itself. [4]
Oliver Maier: Jelly Roll nooo stop you're not supposed to drink the holy water!! Noooo he can't hear me over the terrible mix!!!! Jelly Roll NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! [2]
Ian Mathers: I've been re-reading Ada Palmer's Terra Ignota series recently, where (among many other things) the future setting has in its past a series of religious wars so terrifying that by the time of the books it's illegal to proselytize. You can believe whatever you want and discuss it with your personal religious counselor, but making it any kind of cultural signifier, let alone ammunition in any kind of cultural conflict, is absolutely taboo. The setting is an interestingly fraught mix between a utopia and a dystopia, but I gotta admit, the whole "don't talk about religion" bit sits pretty easily with me these days. [3]
Isabel Cole: Maybe it’s my choirgirl past talking, but “this little light of mine / damn near burned me alive” is a delightful piece of cheeky blasphemy. The rest of the song isn’t terrible, but nothing else feels as specific or as evocative as that. The chorus has some potentially decent ideas that are washed out by the mix into an undifferentiated wind of wailing, and the production refuses to entertain any kind of dynamism. (It feels like a very basic expectation for the song to drop more dramatically before the explosion into the final chorus, but it just… doesn’t….) Jelly Roll, meanwhile, hits his marks fine, but he never sounds like a man condemned, unless your idea of hell is a particularly divey karaoke bar. [5]
Brad Shoup: "This little light of mine/damn near burned me alive" is a nice contribution to the dirtbag hymnal. But it's buried in a mudslide of the hoariest crazy/beautiful imagery: booze and Bible verses, angels and devils, self-destruction and salvation. It's twanged out but has the overdrive of hair metal, with a light disco shuffle. The result is not unlike a 2010s Carrie Underwood crossover, but with a lot less fear of God. [5]
Katherine St. Asaph: Is one snippet of a sermon really enough to summon hellfire unto a song? Perhaps not, but who else is trying? [7]
TA Inskeep: Quit bellowing, man. As much as I hate invoking these names, this is (Kid Rock rapping) x (Nickelback’s guitars) + banjo, and it = nothing I need or want to hear again. [2]
Hannah Jocelyn: I liked "Need a Favor" more than I should have -- it's definitely a dirge, but I would have given it a [6] for the part of me that enjoyed listening to Nickelback as a mini-Hannah. This doesn't work, though it does answer the long-pressing question of "what if Rascal Flatts wasn't even a little bit of fun?". [4]
Dave Moore: For a few moments during this I'm transported to the glorious few months of Big 'n' Rich's alt-weekly champions and ensuing message board conversations, which was the last time anything I'd have to say about hip-hop and country might have sounded even remotely fresh. Accordingly, this feels about twenty years too stale, though I'm happy enough for Jelly Roll's success. [5]
Daniel Monteshenko: Sure, it sounds like a rousing song for the antagonist to sing in act two of a critically derided Broadway jukebox musical. Yup, it's as clichéd as any song you've ever heard mention hard liquor, the Cross and "mama." Of course the title's reverse SEO'd to capture unknown AC/DC fans. And you know it's overproduced, airless and a product of the loudness wars. But damnit, that's a hell (heh) of a chorus. [6]

Speaking of the upcoming season, I know actors being older than their characters’ age requires suspension of disbelief, but I really need tga to have some more substantial time jumps in the next few seasons a la downton because if Gladys, Larry, and Marian are all supposed to be within 19-24 years old the next few seasons, while looking early to mid 30s,I will go insane. This might cause problems with Bertha and George’s age though but it’s easier to make someone look older than younger. I still find the casting choices strange for the Russell’s and Marian strange in terms of the older Russell’s only being ~10 years older than the actors who play their children/children’s peers. And I like Louisa, Harry, and Taissa’s performances for the most part, but it’s not anything mind blowing that more age appropriate actors for the characters couldn’t have done. Carrie and Morgan’s performance would have been harder to replace.
Hope it’s okay to rant about TGA in your inbox lol
It is literally always ok to rant about TGA in my inbox <3
Honestly, audience response to character ages has already been ridiculous, it doesn't matter how old the actors are or how old they look it is going to make redditors act like animals. I personally don't mind, though I def agree with you that it isn't as if they couldn't have cast younger performers for the Russell kids & Marian
& I am absolutely with you on wanting more time skips - frankly they have put themselves into a position where if they don't timeskip at least a little they are either risking faithfully representing the historical period or not having certain characters do much. Like Ada is supposed to be in mourning until 1885. So either we're timeskipping a couple of times in S3 or they're not doing much with Ada or. And it's gonna be this one. They're just ignoring Victorian mourning customs all over again even though literally the entirety of New York society knows that Ada should be in mourning
This is no longer about what your ask was about but overall I do think they need to improve both in-universe pacing and the passage of time - I'm currently quite unhappy about the direction they're going with Bertha for reasons I've discussed before but I think ultimately they might be shooting themselves in the foot with their most prominent conflict of new money vs old money with what they're doing with her.

hehe both criminal minds and peaky blinders if you want to
the GOATs
Criminal Minds
My rating (1-10): 7.9, its incredibly enjoyable, frequently silly, often kind of awful. a great combination.
My favourite character: Emily, which could not be more obvious w/ my url but i also love reid almost as much
My least favourite character: Gideon annoyed me a little on this last rewatch, which is a way more negative reaction than I've ever had to any of the other mains. Ashley Seaver SUCKED so fucking bad but she wasn't around long enough to be relevant to this question lol
The character I think I'd be friends with: JJ and Morgan, they've both got a sarcastic teasing streak that I really vibe with
The character I think I won't hit off with: Gideon.
My favourite episode/scene: Man. That's hard, there are so many good ones. The one that kind of lives rent free in my brain is Uncanny Valley (the doll one), and that speech that Reid gives to Riker in that episode is one of the banger scenes of all time.
Whose clothing style I like best: Reid, I love how much he loves that purple scarf
Times I watched it (and if I would again): I've never actually watched all 15 seasons all the way through! I used to watch it when I was in high school and early college, just whenever I saw that it was on TV, so I didn't get through it linearly until this latest rewatch, and even in this rewatch I only got to the later half of season 9 and then kind of fell off lol. But yeah I'd totally watch the early/mid seasons again.
Peaky Blinders
My rating (1-10): 9.2, extremely aesthetic, dialogue to die for, unfathomably fucked up. very much my shit
My favourite character: Ada!!!!!
My least favourite character: John I guess? I've definitely forgotten that he existed at some points lol
The character I think I'd be friends with: Lizzie probably
The character I think I won't hit off with: Arthur, for me he is best loved from a distance lol
My favourite episode/scene: I don't know about episode specifically, but the scene in season 5 episode 4 where Tommy shows up to Ada's house and rambles his way through a mental breakdown at her is honestly one of the best scenes in Anything
Whose clothing style I like best: Ada season 2/3/4
Times I watched it (and if I would again): Only once, and I honestly don't know if I could handle watching it again. It took so long for me to get through season 6 - the bleak darkness of it was truly on the edge of being too much. Which is where I like to be taken, don't get me wrong, it's just that I don't know if I want to necessarily subject myself to the whole thing again lol

She hadn't seen an actual horse in nearly twenty years, and it wasn't as if books were very specific about how they worked. So even if her first instinct had been to touch the majestic animal, her hand stopped mid-air and she murmured: "Does it bite?"
@avictimofthejazz moving reply to its own post.
Kelly had gotten used to hearing many questions from people over the years… but someone asking her if a horse bit was, admittedly, not one she heard every day. At least not from adults. Occasionally a small child might ask, but normally only if someone in their family possessed a foul-tempered animal. None of the animals on Maggie’s farm were ill-humored though. The closest they ever came was Baracus’s horse, and he was merely grumpy. The only person he ever tried to nip was Templeton, reflecting the complicated relationship his owner had with the con artist. This horse though, was the Morgan and his temperament reflected Kelly’s own more than anyone else’s. The animal nickered curiously, and huffed a breath over Ada’s outstretched hand as if laughing at her question.
Kelly shook her head, politely keeping the humor off her features as she realized that their guest meant the question seriously. “No, no, Colan won’t hurt a soul.” She assured Ada, stroking the horse’s neck gently.
Colan, for his part, watched Ada somewhat impatiently. Always fond of affection, he knew the upraised hand meant some kind of attention should have been coming, except that something stalled the natural order of the universe. That irked him, and he huffed again.
Kelly ignored the horse’s flair for dramatics as she offered more information. “Any animal will bite, of course, but the worst Colan might do will be to accidentally nip someone if he goes after his apple too eagerly. You would have to truly anger or scare him to get a real bite out of him.”
She hadn't known they liked apples either, but there was no point in saying so out loud. Ada took her word for it, having no other choice - but then, most women had been nice to her - and gently, carefully, brought her hand to the horse's head, letting her fingers run through the hair at the top and following the shape of the crest. Her lips pulled into a small uncertain smile, brightening at the pleasant feeling and the knowledge that the horse was likely enjoying it too.
"It's strange," she murmured, "And nice." Her eyes darted to the woman at her side, not as trusting of humans as she was of animals. But it was all nice. Being outside, smelling the grass, with an animal there and no one seemingly about to attack her over the smallest mistake. It was peaceful. She wished the rest of her life could so. "Can I come here to see the horses again?" she asked, still unsure of just how free to move she was. Because mistakes could still be made and she didn't wish to find out where the line was, not with somewhat scary-looking men in the house.
#avictimofthejazz#good she needs happier people! I'm guessing they already know the gists of what happened to her#and she was sent there to recover?#also the men are scary looking because they all look like they can fight#nothing personal lol#does it bite#closed starter
