People love SniperSpy. It's generally accepted that Spy is somewhere in his 50s to 60s, judging off Scout's age alone, and with SniperSpy he's sleeping with someone three years older than his own son.

And there is a absolutely nothing wrong with this when both parties are consenting adults. What I have an issue with is that I've seen a lot of people who ship SniperSpy then get on the arse of MedicScout shippers because Scout is "too young" for Medic.

My question is why? Why is it ok to ship Sniper, at 30, with Spy, a man at least 20 years older than him, but it's not alright to do the same with Scout, who's 27, and Medic, who's probably about 20 years older than him? Why is that? Why do you have an issue with one and not the other?

And it comes down to two things:

1. People think Scout looks too young. Which, I'm sorry, but at someone who's 5'2" and looks about 16-18 at all times (depending on whether or not I shave) despite being 23, fuck you. You do not get to decide if someone's physical appearance is "mature enough" when that person is a fucking adult. Get fucked.

2. Ableism. Scout is notoriously immature and often acts like a teenage. HE IS ALMOST THIRTY YEARS OLD. Maturity/behaviour ≠ age and the funny part is that these are the same people who tell you not to infantilise autistic people for perceived immaturity but then go on and infantilise A MAN WHO IS ALMOST THIRTY because he acts immature. Practise what you preach or get fucked.

People NEVER do this with Sniper and I'm not sure if it's because Sniper looks like he's 40 or because he acts like he's 40. But I'm inclined to think it's the latter, because people often do this with Pyro too as Pyro also often acts childlike.

Rating LEGO Friends: The Next Chapter ships! If you ship any of these but I don't, that's perfectly okay! Everyone is entitled to their own opinions!

Warning: I have watched up to season 2 ep 6, but no further!

Autumn/Leo: nope, 100% best platonic besties, love their dynamic, -/10. I really love their in-show friendship and their moments are great, so a romance between them just feels wrong.

Paisley/Olly: 5/10, the chemistry and moments are there and it looks like the writers are building up to a romance, but I think the relationship would be unbalanced. The dynamic would also be kinda toxic, both of them need more character growth and development before they can have a healthy relationship. Like maybe when they're older and more mature?

Zac/Sky: 8/10, cute, love their dynamic and hope to see more moments in the future. What little crumbs so far are great, mainly because so far they're both easygoing and respectful people and I could see this relationship turning out well.

Olly/Leo: ehhhhh, don't think it'd work out well. Leo is similar to Paisley (in his difficulty in saying no, and standing up for himself but he's working on it and has come pretty far) and thus they'd have the same unbalanced dynamic, but they don't have anywhere close to Olly and Paisley's canon interactions nor years of friend history. Same thing as Olly/Paisley, needs more character growth first. I know a lot of people shipped them before the show came out, mainly because they were 'the obviously queer guy' and 'the feminine guy' or maybe just aesthetically, they look nice together to some people. 3/10.

Nova/Liann: 10/10, love it. Canon issues with their relationship are addressed, they have a comfortable dynamic and know each other well, they also have great moments together and I could see a romance happening cutely and naturally. Honestly my favourite ship.

Leo/Candi: DEAR GOD THIS IS SO TOXIC W H A T...NO SORRY NOT FOR ME

Leo/Aliya: 4/10. Leo and Aliya don't strike me as a relationship that would last long. Aliya has boundary issues (the Ley-La thing) and she's not good at noticing she's pushing Leo specifically (Over-Leveraged Leo) so some more character growth from both of them first. Then maybe I'll rate them higher.

Aliya/Autumn: 7/10, strikes me as besties but could also have a cool, sweet romance that could also happen naturally, if they get more 'romantic' moments together. Canon issues are addressed, and they have a good dynamic going for them.

Paisley/Zac: 5/10. They are very comfortable with each other, could see a romance happening but the platonic vibes are stronger. If they ever dated it'd likely end with both agreeing to stay best friends instead.

Nova/Aliya: Rivals to lovers, 3/10. Both have more character growth to get to before a healthy romantic relationship.

Paisley/Leo: cute, 7/10. Don't really have lots of canon interactions, but their personalities would mesh nicely and I could see a healthy, sweet romantic relationship. They're both cut from similar cloths, so they could be good for each other.

Zac/Aliya: DEAR GOD THEY ARE !COUSINS!

Leo/Niko: 6/10. Cute, same as Paisley/Zac, might date for a bit before agreeing to stay good friends. Leo would also 100% be Niko's realization that he's queer.

Liann/Paisley: cute, I love Liann and Paisley's moments in the very first episode and later on, Liann also gets more character development, so a romance between them would be nice. I feel like the eternal bestie vibes are slightly stronger, though, so 7/10.

Aliya/Paisley: okay but don't really see it happening. plus with Paisley and Leo being similar, a romance might not end well without further character moments OR maybe some solid canon moments. 4.5/10

Zac/Leo: platonic vibes are nice and strong, any romance would die off quickly and they'd stay good friends. The Over-Leveraged Leo ep is used as fuel for this ship by a lot of people, but to me the part where Zac just...approaches Leo and applauds his lovely situation then agrees to help, it feels more bestie than romantic to me. 2/10

Leo/Nova: would not work well in any world, they're just too different. -/10

So overall my personal ships: Liann/Nova, Zac/Sky. I'll wait for further canon.

Taikaaki, Daikaaki, or KijoxTakaaki?

Geeeee...oof...that's tough. I like all three (and more because there are like. Two other ships of Takaaki I enjoy) for specific reasons. Taikaaki is cute and just fluffy. Plus I think their dynamic would be amazing and cute. Taichi is someone Takaaki needs, someone to make him feel like he belonged. Takaaki was someone who made Taichi feel like he wasn't unreliable. They work well together in my head. (There's better reasons but like. I just woke up so oops.) Literally read one of my fics or look at my headcanons for them to see their dynamic it's so good.

Daikaaki I enjoyed because I loved IshiMondo. It was my first Takaaki ship I enjoyed. Their dynamic is so opposite. They're all opposite, but they're very different. Different eras, different things they enjoy, different moral codes, different re everything. But God they love each other.

Kijoaaki is good because I think they're very unhealthy. I love me something that is toxic because it's just good too. Kijo will never, NEVER love Takaaki like how Takaaki loved him. And he takes that love for his own personal gain. Because Takaaki has issues. And Kijo just wants his body. To use him. I like that because it's something different I've come up with. It's different from the cute and loving Takaaki ships. Takaaki will always find better. Kijo was Takaaki's learning experience, to remind him he could do better when he matured more.

I like all three for different reasons. But for something I really will always enjoy is Taikaaki. I love them so much they're very near and dear to my heart because I weirdly relate to both and are just adorable together.

There's nothing to say it was Jungkook who made him stay versus that Jin wasn't letting him go so he finally caved. Jungkook actually seemed relatively disconnected from Jin and Jimin's interaction. It's not even clear whether Jimin saw what Jungkook had on his screen by the time he said he'd stay because he'd barely looked over and everything happened very quickly.

But setting all this aside, how do you make sense out of believing that Jungkook would "blackmail" his boyfriend with a picture of himself with a hickey, a hickey that wouldn't be immediately detectable because it actually is just a great selfie of Jungkook? And if Jungkook indeed had a hickey on his neck in that photo, which I think is debatable, fans wouldn't inherently connect it to Jimin, it doesn't implicate Jimin in any way, so how is that even blackmail? Blackmail would be a goofy picture of Jimin or a suggestive picture of Jikook both. But even beyond the flaws with this reasoning, you have to believe in a seriously toxic version of Jungkook to claim he would essentially try to out his homosexual relationship (even if only for the truthers like you) to get his boyfriend to *checks notes* not turn off a damn Eat Jin Vlive, of all things. And you call it bravery, dear god.

My favourite character: Of course it has to be Buffy Summers. Strongest girl in the universe. I love everything about her. Her strength, her courage, her personality, her sarcasm and wit, her kindness, how much love she has for everyone around her 💗 She’s dynamic, she’s layered, she makes mistakes and she isn’t perfect. She just feels like a real person that you want to root for. We got to watch her go from adolescent to adult and persevere and survive it all. I could talk about her for hours!! SMG gives such a great portrayal of her and it’s hard to imagine anyone else in the role

Favourite episode god there’s so many good ones! Let me just say ‘The Body’ S5 E16 is one of if not the best episode of television ever, one that you’ll rarely ever want to watch again. It’s a beautiful, heartwrenching exploration of grief and mourning. and in a show that deals with so much death and destruction from monsters the worst loss you have is a human death by natural causes 💔 That episode is so hard to revisit so I’m gonna give you a favourite that is a fun one! ‘Tabula Rasa’ S6 E08. In the episode, a spell goes bad and every character forgets who they are and it’s just so funny. You get a lot of references to earlier episodes and funny jabs about the characters usual selves and the comedy was a nice break from how serious the rest of the season is

My fave couple obviously involves Buffy herself. Spuffy or Spike x Buffy! Vampire slayer and vampire. Literally trying to kill each other enemies to lovers excellence. There’s a lot to say about this ship but the thing I fell in love with most about this paring is the fact they just capture your attention in any phase of their relationship. They're just so interesting!! The constantly changing dynamic is just something special. You’re invested when they're enemies, when they're reluctant allies, when they're lovers, and when they're something undefinable by the final season. Their journey is a long one fraught with so many differences and similarities to become a real love story. But in saying that the ship was definitely toxic and not all that healthy at times but whatever!! and I understand people who don’t like it because the writers certainly made a choice in one particular episode that really does sour the relationship. Also sorry not sorry if you’re a Bangel fan lol 😅 I have some fave ship quotes I can share too because look at the material:

Fave season has to be S3. Buffy’s last year of high school and the introduction of Faith, another slayer! The ‘big bad’ of the season Mayor Wilkins is one of the best too. It had great overarching themes, amazing character development and a satisfying conclusion. The season as a whole is probably the series most consistent and some of the best episodes are from it. It is just stacked with contenders if I sat here and named it would be the whole season 😂 ‘The Wish’ is a goodie, ‘The Prom’ is <3 ‘Helpless’ is just !!!! and the 2 part finale ‘Graduation Day’ is spectacular! It’s a fan favourite with good reason

The best villain is so hard because there’s so many great options, I’d say S3s Mayor Wilkins or S5s Glory. Mayor Wilkins is a reminder that the worst guy in the world is probably a white male politician lol!! he was also a demonic snake for anyone that doesn’t know 😂 and Glory! Buffy battled all kinds of vampires and demons and the S5 rolls around and her enemy is a legit God from a hell dimension😳 and by far the worst has to be S6s pack of complete losers ‘The Trio’ that these days we’d call incels 😂

Snufkin/Moomin ig? it's special. it's close to my heart more because of what it symbolises than because i want those two to fuck (i do NOT actually want them to fuck at all, dear god, i don't even want to think about it). it's still very melancholy and regret-tinged. i feel like the 'comfort' questions don't rly apply to me cause what i love in fiction above all else is tragedy, unhappy endings, toxicity, generally Bad Things. the way i like to engage in media is weeping tears of genuine anguish over my beloved doomed characters/ships so there's not much space for true, long-lasting comfort.

maybe Eddie/Chrissy from Stranger Things too? cultivating a healthy relationship with another person while battling an ED is not easy to say the least (maybe even impossible, at least to me) so yeah, maybe in an AU focused on her recovery they could be a comfort ship to me.

I think the only think they'd ever have going for them is the idea of "don't shit on people for liking something you don't". But also?? You don't have to be a pr//sh//pper to believe that?? And honestly the reason it doesn't work coming from them is because it's usually in conjunction with "fiction doesn't affect reality" which. Girlies I'm sorry but it can. Desensitizing people to fucked up topics can in turn make them more compliant with it or even make them view it as ok. And now to the thought that made me type this up impulsively. You can be critical of ships and the implications on the person shipping them. To go to the drastic examples there's no fucking way you can tell me to not be critical of someone shipping in//st or the like. But even without being as drastic, I think its really good to be critical of ships between characters who in canon would have a toxic/ abusive relationship and how it may reflect on someone who is romanticizing it. I am going to talk about T//gaf//ka now.

I find utility in using unromanticized T//gaf//ka to cope. Realistic portrayals of their relationship is so fascinating I think you can get so much out of it. I think coping through shit is awesome. That being said I think people making romanticized shit out of it is one of the most triggering things on Earth and I'm sorry if you look at canon/ in-game characterizations and go "Yeah you can have something healthy sprout from that"... What The Fuck???

Byakuya is very much uncomfortable with the attention he gets from Toko in canon. He lashes out at her because of it. Toko has an unhealthy obsession with him, undoubtedly due to trauma and an unhealthy perception of romantic relationships. Aand something something that part in THH where he told her not to speak and she fucking didn't until he told her to again. I am not going to talk about Syo because that's where it's personal heart emoji. <3 I don't wanna delve too much into them; my thoughts could be another whole post on their own.

Anyways, all of what I just said is why I find them to have coping utility. It may not be 1:1, but I have been there. And being there is why I think it can be insanely problematic to ignore all of their canon characteristics/ relationship and go "teehee wlm/mlw ship <3". I don't want people to think blind obsession is romantic (also the issue with shit like the yandere trope but that's out of my area). I don't want people to think persistence towards someone who does not want you will get you them in the end. I can't cover shit that completely rewrites canon but I think if you rewrite an unhealthy relationship to be healthy. Just find new characters to ship. OR LET THEM BE PLATONIC FRIENDS DEAR CHRIST I think Toko and Byakuya growing past what all happened and having a positive relationship is really awesome. It's not something you ever owe to someone you had an unhealthy relationship with and in real life may not be ideal but fiction is still a playground for stuff that may not always be feasible in life. But I think I've made it clear why it's an issue to give them a romantic relationship.

To wrap it up I kinda just can't take pr//sh//pers seriously anymore like ok be in denial abt it I don't have the time to waste on you. I agree with Kishimoto never trying to use the girls. The hate they get is not fair. I used to defend Sakura back in the days because I hoped kishi would do her justice. When shippuden started I WAS SO HAPPY because I thought this was the start of something great for Sakura and the girls but NOOOOO. Every time, Sasuke showed kishi turned her brainless. If you compare Naruto's actions and Sakura's actions to sasuke, you'd see they're completely different. What's up with that weird fake love confession scene 😭? It makes her look like she was manipulating Naru. JEEZ.

Also he literally had badass Tenten and Temari with cool useful abilities and he didn't use them ?! TF ?! Thank god for modern authors who treat their characters with respect :)

The way I see it, Sakura's character development in shippuden was always one step forward, two steps back. She gets this really badass scene (like her fight with Sasori and those cool ass medical skills) but is then regressed back into a pining girl in love every time Sauce is on screen or Kishi just throws her in the background YET AGAIN.

I love Sakura's abilities actually. Her brute strength, intelligence, vast knowledge and skill as a medic nin. But what I dislike about her character is how kishi handled her feelings for Sasuke. Naruto and Sakura's obsession with Sasuke was so???? huh??? it was so damn toxic and i never once understood why both Nardo and Sak were so obsessed with him. They were a team for one year???? I mean its great that they care about him alot but Sauce's feelings were kinda valid. His freakin clan died. Id go batshit crazy against my own village too. BUT BESIDES THAT. Both Nart and Sakura's Sasuke obsession was so annoying. 80% of shippuden was literally Keeping up with the Uchihas or Naruto yelling SASUKEH. BUT what irks me so much is the fandom's double standards with both Naruto and Sakura. "Oh Sakura shouldve gotten over her Sasuke obsession" but then turn around and call Naruto's obsession cute and gush about how he's so in love with him!!

Hot take but the only reason why sasunaru is "the most developed ship with the most chemistry" is because theyre both male characters.

I guarantee you if Naruto was a girl and SHE would be the one to have this unhealthy obsession who was chasing around Sasuke, the fandom would shit on Naruto just as much. And if Sasuke were a girl, Sauce would be sidelined like the rest of the female cast and Naruto would have another male character to have a "brotherly bond" with, because thats the only bond Kishimoto is actually good at developing. Yey for male characters having all the screentime and cool assets <333

And about that confession scene, I get her intentions. I really do. I understand that she did that in order to bring him home and that she cares about him but honey, w-why?? Why lie to him about your feelings?? Supposed he DID believe her, then what? then what kishi???? huh??? Some of her fans point the blame on Sai or whatever but I personally dont see why that scene was at all necessary. Maybe to establish Naruto's feelings for her wasnt all that serious? or his maturity? idk man. That scene was such a clusterfuck.

In the end her development in The Last and in Boruto was immaculate. She had one of the best glow ups in the old gen and ironically enough, her character wasn't butchered in Boruto. She got badass scenes she was cheated from in shippuden. I also love how she's finally getting the spotlight she deserves. Unlike the other konoha 12 :,)))

Okay onto the next female character that Kishi completely wasted. My baby. My light. 🙈 AAAHHH HINATAA.

Let me just establish this real quick. Hinata's goal was to get stronger because of Naruto, her goal was never to be with Naruto. She wanted to become someone who is worthy enough to stand beside him, someone whom he can consider as an equal, as a partner. She NEVER once said "marrying Naruto-kun is my all time goal UwU" (if youre one of those weirdos who interpret her character that way, youre immediately invalid, go take a hike)

I personally dont have anything against their crushes but to the point of making their personalities revolve around these guys every time theyre onscreen is so fucking frustrating. And with the way he writes their dialogues is so.damn.cringey. Like that one scene in the war arc with Tsunade and Madara

If im being honest. Hinata's character is actually kinda well written. Not well executed. Dear God no. But with the way he set her story, her personality, her chracterization. She's honestly one of the best written female characters on the show. IMO. By Kishi's standards of writing women ofc. She's hands down one of the most complex characters. Her shy personality wasnt out of the blue, it wasnt a cutesy waifu trait. Her abusive upbringing made her that way. Her trauma turned her that way. Im not gonna deny that her role in the show was only as the love interest but tbh for a love interest, Im glad her character wasnt so one dimensional. Hnggggg dont get me started with her role in Boruto. She's as relevant as a damn houseplant in the manga. They made her into an invisible trophy wife and "the mc's mother" and we all KNOW what happens to the shounen mc's mother once mc is in need of character development :) Quit putting her in the background. Give us that scene where she won against Hanabi DESPITE being retired for years. Give us that scene where she trains Boruto. GIVE US ANY FIGHT SCENE OF HER WHERE HER POTENTIAL ISNT WASTED WTF?¿

Now if you say that Hinata didnt have development. YOURE INVALID. She came from an abusive household, the shyest girl in her class, her insecurities got in the way of her own confidence, had difficulty of standing up for herself now became a loving mother of two, has the guts to kick her husband out of the house(with whom she couldnt even keep eye contact with when she was a kid) became the strongest hyuga, most supportive wife and mother, and has given her kids the comforting childhood she never had as a kid.

She has one of the most beautiful stories in the show and if you think her personality is only Naruto-kun and big boobs, then im sorry that you cant appreciate such a heartwarming story.

And I agree, killing her would honestly make me feel more at ease than continue to see her suffer because of godawful misogynistic writers. But at least let her die in an epic fight. Please. PLEASEE. She got nerfed so bad, i feel a physical pain every time i think about it

Okay what else. I think Ino got pretty good development. Another wasted potential in shippuden but she's doing good for herself in Boruto. I dont know what Temari is up to. They basically made her into another classic angry mom who beats up her husband for comedy trope. Haha very funny and original! Im not sure with her career, im not that invested in the anime.

oh G O D Tenten. The dirtiest of all. Her jokes about her screentime is so mean and i hate that its true ahsjhs. She was the only female character in OG who's goal wanted to be as strong as Tsunade but what did Kishi do to her?? Sidelined. Forgotten. Irrelevant. Like every damn female on the show :D

Konan shouldnt have died. I blame plot armor. I know in my heart that Konan wouldve kicked Obito's ass if it weren't for Kishi's boomer mindset.

Tsunade had so much hype when she was introduced but died down in the war arc. Madara wiped the floor with the kages. Holy shit. Not only that, but yipee! Naruto is there to save the day AGAIN!!!!

AND UGHHHH If the female characters were given proper treatment then maybe MAYBE all the endgame couples wouldve made fucking sense????¿¿¿

I think that ends my rant. Im not sure how the female characters in Boruto are handled. Except maybe Sarada (she's pretty well executed in the manga imo). But arguably they are sooo much better handled in Boruto than how the old gen girls were. And thats because Kishi isnt anywhere near the new gen female cast. I cant formulate a solid opinion with the other new gen female cast since im not entirely invested in the anime. Not ashamed to admit that I only watch it for the sunshine moments and for Hinata :DD
