Not to sound stupid or anything, but how does the 'boom' mechanisms work for Soap in your new au? Like does he just throw a stick of dynamite at the target or does he just combust on the spot?? And if so, how does he like, recover from that??

OH IVE THOUGHT ABOUT IT TOO so basically its REALLY similar to how Bakugo's (MHA) quirk works, but instead of sweat as a medium, Soap creates micro-combustions directly, using electrical discharge as the trigger Johnny has an internal ability to generate electrical energy that he channels through his body at will. this electricity doesn't necessarily harm him but it can cause him to overheat (which can cause stuff like nosebleeds, high blood pressure, skin burns like he has from his charged form)

he can direct that energy through focus points like his hands, feet, his whole body or some weaponized items (like grenades)

when he "discharges" (sounds weird but idk what else to call this), it causes a micro-combustion — basically an implosive spark that escalates into a burst or explosion based on how much charge he built

whenever Soap is in a high-adrenaline situation or experiences some intense emotions he can go into the charged form (or well if the lighting hits him lulz, lets keep the mc reference there too)

his explosions are stronger and faster in this form

he can get some minor boost to his speed

overheats very easily in this form and it can be very mentally taxing

his main limiting factor is his internal power supply (aka all basic needs) and nervous system resistance

he carries some conductive grounding tools (like some copper fabrics or redstone coated stuff)

he can use products that contain some redstone to "recharge" himself for a short period of time. think of it like an energy bars/drinks

his gear is reinforced with some blast paddings (mainly his vest) and shock-absorbing boots

he cant use his powers whenever he's too cold or physically exhausted

Look, I really don't like how media portray "feminism" and how that media actually shaped how people especially girls herselves should act and behave.

It is literally 50/50. Men are not equal to his partner in those relationships. They are bellow their girlfriend in literally... everything. In other words.... They are used as plot devices to prop up the female mc. It is as boring as the girl being only there to be what drives a man in the narrative.

Like. Their entire personality is reduced to that. And while sometimes that may work in the story, as you know a character in which the purpose in the story is especifically to haunt the narrative like how Epic treats OdyPen - all the new media is streaming this kind of thing and yelling "we are feminist".

No. You are just playing with sexism and believing you are being woke.

It is annoying. It is bland. It is cheap.

Why that long discourse? Because Fandom and Riordan since HoO is making Percabeth and especially Annabeth fall into this category. Where her flaws are not treated as flaws, actually they are praised. She doesn't grow, she acts worse then when she was 12 in many ways, especially regarding her treatment of Percy. Percy is always at fault, and Annabeth is always in the right. The entire dynamic of Percabeth is basically Percy trying to appease Annabeths feelings and insecurities and fears while they are in supernatural adventures, and when it comes to Annabeth, Percy always has to sacrifice something for her, while all of his own traumas are put in second place and in return Percy is mocked, disrespected and physically assaulted, guilty blamed many times by someone that should care for him as much as he cares for her.

For godamm sake, Riordan made Percy incapable of tying his own shows and Annabeth needing to speak up for him, because according to Annabeth Grover and Percy were in awe in Hecates presence because she was a goddess in WoTG.

(You know, the same Grover who is the lord of nature and lived around Dionysus since he was born. The same Perseus who fought gods, titans and giants, who looked at the face of many gods and treats them either as friendly (like Hermes) or openly passive agressive. Perseus who was named Praetor and directly responsible for the fall of Typhoon in the Last Olympian. The same Percy who saved her life from primordials and monsters down in Tartarus. It is the first time in my entire life I see a MC be devolved so terribly on page only to prop up his own girlfriend in the narrative) I will stop here because talking about wotg is bad for my mental health.

In a relationship both people have to deserve each other. It is not about who is stronger. Who is smarter. Who comes from which family. It is about what they do for one another, what they do with each other and put it on the balance. They have to respect each other. They have to cheer each other up. They need to be each other safe place. Where they can be themselves free of cruel criticism, but still be able to grow and envolve to the best versions of one another. (I am highlighting "cruel" because that is important. I am not meaning construtive criticism.)

I will say it till my dying day: PJO Percabeth (the five original main books) it had everything to be a great couple. There were problems, of course, but they could easily - and I mean easily - be solved with the right narrative decisions. They had everything to be as great as hiccstrid in term of the relationship development and (as important as the other) individual development.

From what I'm aware (as I'm still learning), the boys have yet to directly mention each other by name. I know Xavier and Rafayel have briefly talked to MC about the N109 Zone and Onychinus, and they've mentioned locations that the other boys may have visited or worked. But they've never talked to MC about whether or not they know each other directly. Therefore, I'll be exploring a less-than-canon idea of what they think of each other. This is, of course, ignoring any deep lore and mainly going off personalities and first impressions. Enjoy!!

Closest in age (assuming Xavier is 23), they feel like it's easy to talk to each other and can't chat about lots of different concepts and topics.

Thinks it's odd that he's constantly tired yet sleeps all day. Doesnt think he's particularly lazy, but thinks he's a hermit.

Zayne:

Is confused as to why Zayne is not familiar with his art and work. Gives him a rundown of his portfolio.

Shocked by how cold his hands are.

Accidentally interrupts him often when speaking.

Sylus:

Since he's from the N109 Zone, Rafayel knows better than to let his guard down and act chummy. Thinks he secretly wants something from him.

Respects his sense of style and thinks he dress well.

Thinks that him being a Lumerian is fascinating.

Not at all intimidated by him, but worries about MC hanging with Sylus.

honestly the best advice i can give you is to just search unstable universe and click on any of the playlists (i recommend diya's since it tends to be the most up-to-date one), if you wanna watch just one pov then feel free to do so but be warned youd be missing a part of the experience by doing so mainly through missing context/part of the story for certain scenes (although tbf that pretty much goes for any lets play but if you dont mind that aspect then go right ahead)

a few warnings before you get started tho:

its a huge time investestment, all but the first 4 episodes are more than 3 hours long with most of them either halfway through or nearing 4 hours

some vids are uploaded later than they actually take place on the timeline, i have a guide here if you wanna know at least from what i can tell the actual order is

theres a few supplementary materials (can be found in the extras part of the sheet i linked, not complete yet cause theres some vids i havent linked yet and im still on the lookout for more since some vids get added retroactively in addition to the ones uploaded explicitly for uu), you dont need to watch them to enjoy the story but theyre a cool bonus

if you wanna watch only one pov heres a guide on each of the povs specialties before doing so

general:

they all shift in style as the eps go on, nothing jarring but if you dont like more scripted storylines you may find the later eps a bit lacking

plot themes get used and reused a lot, for example spoke often goes on quests to destroy important landmarks, parrot often goes on scavenger hunts/get imprisoned/some combination of the two, and wemmbu often does things related to civilizations/kingdoms/factions

certain editing styles also get copied from each other, parrot and wemmbu in particular like to do this with each other

themes and styles can also switch around sometimes which can affect future eps on some level

certain exploits and mechanics dont work as intended so dont bother replicating how certain mechanics work according to actual mc cause chances are youll be disappointed by the results (unless youre into that sorta thing i suppose lol)

the main povs tend to stick to the same set of ppl, most likely due to scheduling reasons, so dont expect a whole lot of crossover casting (tho obv there would still be some esp if theyve got a pre-established role already)

spoke:

redacts some important events from his eps but may recount them later on depending on how the story plays out tho not in detail

not a lot of pvp in his pov and when there is chances are hes trying to run away or someone else is handling it (mainly mapicc)

doesnt upload nearly as consistently as the other two, consequently his shift in style is more obvious comparatively but so is his character development

thematically his eps tend to be about personal growth of some kind

lorewise his eps tend to focus more on server meta, for example his pov is the only one where there is clear confirmation of the server being unstable codewise, his pov is the only one where just how large of a problem duping on the server is can actually be seen and felt, and so far his pov is the only one that shows who ash is and what his goals are. basically if spoke introduces some kind of threat in his ep, chances are it'll be a threat to the server meta and youd have to think of the bigger picture in order to grasp how dangerous they actually are

his pov is also the only one you get the full picture of what a soggy little rat he actually is since in both parrot and wemmbus povs spoke is seen as a serverwide threat, directly for parrot and theoretically for wemmbu

if you like ls s4 zam and/or ls s2 spoke then youll most likely like him as well lol

has a small reoccuring cast and tends to stick to one person when going on quests while also taking note of another one

you will feel the ghost of jamatoP haunting this kid wherever he goes even if he never directly references him

parrot:

tends to get dragged along plot points, not in the sense that he doesnt have agency cause he very much does but more like he takes it upon himself to clean up other ppls messes if that makes sense

tries not to get into pvp but he still does get into them quite often, usually tries to run away but when he doesnt/cant he doesnt really have the best fighting techniques

his character development tends toward introspection which leads to a lot of "quiet" and assumptive character development, you gotta use a lot of psychological analysis when watching a parrot episode basically

thematically his eps tend to be about the willingness to get in danger in pursuit of something (whether it be for something greater, knowledge, or the safety of the other players on the server whether it be their life or memories) vs the predictable and stagnant comfort of safety

lorewise the threats he faces are ones that focuses on the actual players themselves, if one is introduced on his episode then chances are that they specifically target and affect players. an interesting example of this is zam, seen as a threat but never actually treated like an actual problem to be solved unlike the other threats he faces and it just so happens that zam is in a really interesting place antagonism-wise when it comes to wemmbu but is otherwise not a huge threat to unaffiliated players not even parrot who he apparently has beef with

has a large reoccuring cast who come in and out of his life, each of whom are important the same way cogs are important to a machine (applies to parrot himself as well). wifies sticks by him no matter what tho

wemmbu:

literally only one episode of his so far does not heavily feature or center around zam and its the one that takes place before they meet, if you do not like seeing/hearing about zam every 10 minutes or so do not watch wemmbus eps or you Will get pissed off

gets into fights quite often and is the best at pvp among the three main povs but isnt the best in terms of the server at large (hes somewhere more along the lines of average)

his character development is. rocky. and cyclical. be prepared to see him spiral and get better and spiral again over and over again basically lol

thematically his eps tend to be about princezam. i wish i was joking. but besides that, theyre also about retaliatory safety, morality, and sacrificing everything just to try and accomplish a singular goal

lorewise he causes a lot of ripple effects that affect the other two povs to a level that neither of them have ever affected him like for example him terrorizing spoke and parrot is what drove them to their current paths (anti-exploit exploiter for spoke and player protector for parrot)

has. A reoccuring cast. most of them are enemies and/or dont matter to him a whole lot personally tho... that doesnt mean he doesnt have friendly relations or allies of any kind, just that the only two you Really need to take note of are eggchan and princezam

so this world is a cyber/dystopian setting with a very heavy class-based system. instead of a physically Up/down thing that is seen in a lot of media, its moreorless inn vs outerskirts of the same region. the further out you go the "worse" it gets. Lets introduce our mcs.

Lacey Pines (she/they), a oficcer/guard who despite works in the "inner" part of the city, lives in the outskirts. She (along with many other officers on her level) do not get paid much and often turn to corruption and such. we didnt develop that system too much which is something we'll end up doing prolly soon.

Next we have Millie Pines(she/her) Lacey's estranged older sister. She is sort of an etrperener.ent.entreprenour?? whatever. oh but little do the people know shes an ASSASIN!?!?!?!?!? heh hell yeah. As a kid she was taken from her family. she still remembers them, but her thinking was also sort of manipulated by the people who took her.

quick note on that!! their father was HEAVY into debt and officers/debt collectors were threatening to take their home and arrest the father along with it, swearing to doom the rest of the family. Their mother ends up striking a deal- giving away one of their children to the high-standing guard training facility. Theres this big boss guy that takes millie under his wing i dont remember him at ALL i think he was a character from the og piece of media this entire thing was based off of but that wont do anymore so we'll fix him later. He's like. a horrible person but like. father figure. i guess? Millie continues to call him "father"

Well, she does also realize how bad all this shit is but she stays on the morally-grey side. She just does her job. ot doesn't matter who- it could be a huge ceo or someblady who wanta to kill her husband because he cheated. doesnt matter at. all.

Next we have riley!!! (he/him) he is ALSO an assassin but he's a resident of the outskirts who hides out in the inner city. He is also simultaneously a decently big name in the inner city being somewhat of a sports star!! there was this underground sports thing I don't remember at ALL but he was. really good at that. rich people from the inner city would come to see it a lot (cough cough millie). he's just a silly lad. Lil guy if you will.

Lucky(she/he) is a thief (we didn't develop her story much...💔💔💔) ...infact. there's not a lot on her which is sad cuz I love her.

MC Gate Exits

Ok arcana people is it only me, or has anyone else developed their mc's gate exit? Theyre still in the works and i dont have their actual gates but this is what i have so far for all of them:

Lyari

Uses scissors to cut a fissure as his gate exit or stab and pull down to create one

Is second nature to them at this point and doesn't need to focus on where he wants to go. Even if he knows subconsciously where he wants to go, it will manifest; if he doesn't then his destination will be a random place within the realms or a random place in the physical world where hes been before

Could be good but also could be bad

Marsom

While manifesting his gate exit, snow storm appears obscuring anyones view who is in it

Comes out of the storm into his destination

Can be disorienting and distracting which could cause him to mess up where he exits

Osanna

Envisions the palace stable doors sliding open with her destination behind them to physically manifest them as her gate exit

Still heavy doors that need to be slid open

Are closed at manifestation

Samuel

Ground opens up either directly beneath him or near him like a sink hole or rabbits hole he then jumps into

Could be an awkward landing

Seli

Ring or dome of fire encircles her and whoevers in the diameter, when it dissipated, her destination is on the other side

Can be dangerous if where shes going is very flammable (like fire starter type material not so much like wood, more like twigs and leaves)

Can also burn any who touch it or take people she doesnt want as long as theyre in the circle/dome

Vaura

Either manifests a door which then has to be unlocked by one of their keys or a magic ethereal key

Manifests a giant key hole they have to walk through to get to their destination

Manifests a willow tree around them that they walk out of for their gate exit; when they part the branches their destination is on the other side

Can be pretty time consuming as the willow grows around them albeit sped up a lot

Havent been commenting too much because it's too good. One thing that bothers me is the timeline and prince's assassination attempt which happened like 12? Years ago. Rella and louis were said to be unusually young and i guess this is a jrpg but having like a 16 year old general feels a bit much. And if hulkenberg was a royal knight presumably she had some accomplishments and experience already before being promoted. Fidelio was already a trusted aide of louis (presumably with military accomplishments) before the assassination attempt. Anyways it just feels like the timeline is very tight and a number of people were in rather veteran positions despite being rather young. I suppose it's plausible much of the cast is in their early 30s. Fidelio's appearence is nonindicative of his age but a lot of the cast though feel 20s like stohl feels young, first venture as an adult and all. An easier solution really would have been to make the assassination attempt not that long ago say 6 years instead.

So not only is zorba gay he's also trans. Ok. Slay king choose your form.

Then there's more's book which i initially assumed was a nod to irl (like in kingdom hearts) but then was revealed to maybe be historically based. Dad's oc vs son's oc. outer space fight is cool but in the middle of shibuya like the yozora fight also would have been cool.

i think it also kinda lines up w the fact that vera doesnt really trust murray as much as she does w skk. now ofc it could just be the whole "everyone loves mc" trope, but it was stated somewhere in main story abt how vera still doesnt really trust murray due to him being so secretive and leaving many ppl in the dark abt his intentions, plus vera always ran into dead ends when trying to dig up any sort of secrets in regards to murray (i kinda think this is sort of a protective measure vera went through to ensure nothing bad would happen to noctis or 21 if murray became cerberus' skk, but thats more of a hc and i have no evidence to back that up lol)

while yes cerberus does listen to murray, it doesnt always mean theyll 100% trust him like they do w skk. i think the fact that murray is also a remote skk leaves some sort of emotional disconnect btwn him and cerberus. whereas w our skk, who is always on field, has a bit more connection (both physically and emotionally lol 💀) w cerberus purely from just being able to fight alongside them and being the go-to skk for m.i.n.d. connection if anything goes south

another small thing i'd also like to add is the fact that skk was the only one able to give buddy nicknames shows how much 21 grew to trust skk, considering in most of ex05 21 refused to acknowledge/cooperate w skk unless vera tells her to

there was also chaos unsnarled, where 21 was practically unphased from skk m.i.n.d. linking w her out of nowhere, compared to ex05 where she kinda hated the fact that they had to connect to her at the beginning.

now back to noctis, back in chapter 10 (we are now in chapter 24 as of the making of this post) noctis brings up skk in a convo w bianca

this is very much a huge stretch, but his remark on "but now that commandant is leading a team of... trash" seems a bit of a /hj to me. while yeah its a jab at how cerberus likes to poke fun at gray raven, it also feels like hes saying it w a bit of envy? his earlier remark abt how skk treats him (i.e. most likely in a kind/friendly way) is smth he wishes he could have, noting how cold and ruthless a lot of purifying force members tend to be. should also be noted how he stated our skk and not his skk, again reinforcing the small disconnect cerberus has w their actual skk i mentioned earlier.

timeskip to ex05, where cerberus works alongside our skk. to them it would almost feel like a trial run for if skk was in cerby rather than gr.

again, i could very much be exaggerating his excitement and dissect the "of course, i'm very friendly" line using his dorm lines as further evidence, but i'll leave out as much spoilers abt noctis' er story+general content released in sands of wrath as possible for this post. for the first bit of interaction btwn skk and noctis, he appeared to be VERY responsive to a lot of skk's remarks, essentially not containing his excitement of meeting AND working directly w skk. theres also the fact that despite vera pulling a /j w the whole "humor skk while im not talking" comment, again, it feels more like a /hj moment. i do think vera wants noctis and 21 to open up to/get along w skk as well, considering skk is like a breath of fresh air in terms of how the majority of ppl react to cerberus' presence/treat cerberus in general.

from vera wanting to kidnap skk, to 21 considering skk as more than her companion, to nocti considering skk as his partner, i think the lack of mentioning murray while praising skk speaks volumes over which skk they prefer/genuinely want. now again, this could be a whole "everyone loves mc" trope w the added bonus of murray only being mentioned if lee is around/the subject in question, but this is just a silly game theory,, ok mayyybe hc territory, idk im bored and impatiently waiting for sands of wrath HGJDKFGHK

It totally makes sense why everyone would be more upset over Kaito's death than Kokichi

Idk why theres this sentiment that Kokichi's desth was unfairly overshadowed by Kaito BUT YEAH NO HARD DISAGREE literally none of those remaining classmates would have any reason to show compassion for kokichi over kaito

Shuichi: as he is mc/player character his perspective matters most, so ill say the most on him. Sorry to saiouma fans (dw i do think the ship is cute but honestly works better under different circumstances for the two) but Shuichi has spent more time with kaito. After Kaede's death, it is Kaito (in Kaito's questionable way) who helped get Shuichi's willpower back. Kokichi says as much in ch 4. With shuichi being a very sensitive detective, he needed that pillar of support from kaito, one kokichi, while providing help in trials, doesnt give emotionally. Sure u can argue bias on Shuichi's part, but it is Kokichi's plot in ch 4 that caused him and Kaito to have a falling out, injured and captured Kaito in a bunker, and is the reason Kaito becomes the blackened Shuichi is forced to exposed and now watch be executed

Maki: Self explanatory af, but kokichi exposed her talent to everyone to have her be isolated due to kokichi's own distaste for murderers, regardless of maki's intent. Kokichi is the one who fucked around in ch 5 with her feelings, making her harbor guilt over supposedly killing kaito. It's his plot that gets Kaito killed off as blackened so yeah dont expect sympathy from her

Tsumugi: while idk if confirmed whether Kokichi had gone off Tsumugi's script, if that is the case, Tsumugi would 100% frustrated for kokichi messing up her plotline. Shes devoted her life to dr and has been a writer in numerous prior seasons. To have some kid try to attack the mastermind directly by messing with the game would to her feel like infringing on the game's intended entertainment. Besides, if everyone else hates kokichi, it's best for her to go along with it to blend in

Himiko: there def is a weird dynamic between the two, with himiko falling for exisal kokichi twice which is weird ... but yeah no overall himiko has a negative opinion of kokichi. While he did indirectly help her releasing her bottled up emotions in the end of ch 3, it's Kokichi’s way of doing things, meaning it usually comes off as rude. Pretty sure what Kokichi (and Gonta to an extent) caused in ch 4 is unforgivable for himiko, since literally everyone liked Gonta. Himiko out of everyone believed kokichi was the mastermind, feeling great despair once he revealed the truth of the outside world. While not specific, himiko is more of a case of kokichi's general creation of distrust in others. In contrast, kaito is uplifitng to himiko, being the one to defend her in ch 3 when tenko's death was ignored and moving the group along during ch 5.

Keebo: keebo admittedly has the most sympathetic view of kokichi after the trial, alluding to his "hopeful" nature and such, as well as his logical understanding of kokichi's motive. But generally, kokichi is just robophobic to keebo for the sake of pestering keebo, as well as asking invasive questions (do robots have di-?)

Kaito: without getting into kaito and kokichi's relationship/rivalry, kaito id argue does have the second most sympathetic reflection on kokichi, providing the group with Kokichi’s last words. Tho he does doubt them, mentioning he believed kokichi's plan wouldnt work (i personally hc that as just bluff to make shuichi feel better tho). And since its kokichi who blackmailed him into the plan, kokichi is in a sense responsible for Kaito's death so he'd probably wanna focus on making Shuichi and Maki feel better

Kokichi is my fav dr character but ngl he's a little shit to the remaining survivors. While i as an audience memebr feel terrible for him, im not upset or shocked by the characters' disinterest in his death

But when Agent Mom dies- in his arms, no less, and when they weren't on good terms... When her death hits not only him so hard, but Aphrodite too? He goes back to keeping to himself. Something something he doesn't think happiness is in the cards for himself because the people he loves always leave in a way they can't (or don't want to) come back from. And maybe he's doomed to be alone and he should just accept that. And maybe if he accepts it, and he stays reclusive, then he won't get hurt in such a way again, and he'll be protected from it. We learn more about how Crowbars CROWBAR works when Slick breaks Eggs EGG TIMER. It 'destroy[s] any temporal artifact and completely negate its effect on the timeline' but that doesnt matter with Biscuits OVEN because it doesnt alter flow of time in any way. Its more like a time-locked bunker so the MC just throw in a bomb to explode once the time runs out.

Easily one of the funniest moments for Boxcars because good lord just look at his mouth. On another note, I figured out why the gorey bits bother me so much. While not exactly the same it reminds me of Happy Tree Friends and thats something I would rather forget.

Them out of the way, Slick starts prying the safe open but Clover finally deigns to speak up and says doing so is tantamount to the worst idea ever; it will bring nothing but bad luck. I looked this up because I had only heard, at least at my Quinceñera, that watches were a good thing. I never heard much about bad luck and clocks. Apparently some Western cultures see them (broken clocks) as harbringers of doom while Eastern cultures align more with the belief of bad luck.

Clover starts spinning riddles to the true path for opening the safe but gets nothing but a gun to the face. 'You think you can shoot Clover? He is so lucky the gun will probably jam or something predictable like that.' Im still unclear to what this guys power is, but if its something to do with luck and clocks I wonder if Duece has some of that luck since he hasnt actively tried to smash any clocks?

Another great moment. Droog gets knocked into next week at the grocery store, hazy though his memories are, while Boxcars is punched out entirely. The calendar is weirdly telling. We are in Feburary. The intermission started in January. Neither of these has 30 days. Its very pointedly 'the current calendar year' so where is it from?

The intermission is not just a break from the main story; its all happening concurrent to the storyand that is a Wild implication.

On the other hand Ive noticed there has been a lot of references to Problem Sleuth, both directly and indirectly, and more recently allusions to SBAHJ. PS makes sense, the MC are bonus content from there but the SBAHJ connection eludes me. Its picked up more the closer to the end we get of the intermission and Im so confused as to why.

But none of that is gonna matter much longer as Slick opends the safe.

Well this is grim. But even so Im gonna point something out. I just relized at this point that it says '15 green torsos' but we know for a fact that Snowman isnt green so thats kinda weird. It could be just symbolic as she is one of the fifteen members of the Felt. Also, was English not in the mansion? Or is this some kind of Schrödinger situation? Everyone is dead but his 'photo' isnt crossed out so could he still be alive in this timeline just not in the area?

Slick goes in the vault and what we find isnt treasure rather a barren room with another locked door on it adorned with a spade. Rather than using the Spade Key, the design changes into a barcode scanner. Before Slick can make use of his arm or the BLACKJACK card, a shot is fired burning a hole through the card. Snowman is at the entrance, smoking gun in one hand and whip in another. She uses this to rip off Slicks barcode arm completing the injuries forshadowed.

The vault door is slammed shut and with the barcodes gone slick stews in anger.

You're sitting at home, the shiny black smartphone in hand, as you stare at it, waiting.

He's dropped it in your mailbox, given it to you to 'take the next step', as he'd written in the letter accompanying the small box containing the device. You've already snooped around a little, noticed that certain apps and functions seem to be locked- and it makes sense. He's always been careful not to reveal too much at might, info he gives away always rather vague and almost teasing.

And then, the phone vibrates.

A message pops up.

A contact by the name of 'JK' has sent in a simple message through an app you've never seen before. It's rather bland, but it's not that what peaks your interest; it's his words that do.

You read his words carefully, before you reply to him that it's completely fine. That you're happy you're now abke to talk more directly to him- before you catch yourself realizing how dangerous this is right after sending the message. But he's already typing- and your curiosity moves all worries to the side.

You lay on the couch, texting back without thinking how stressful work has been for the past few days. It's the truth; you haven't even had time to talk to Jungkook at all due to the rough deadlines they'd given you recently. You joke that you're more or less surviving on instant noodles, but he doesnt seem to take it with as much humor as you do.

You giggle to yourself as you read his excited messages, feeling oddly cared for already by someone telling you they'd take on a difficult hobby such as cooking just to take care of you. It's an odd feeling. It's odd to you to feel wanted.

Maybe that's why you're so.. Attached to him.

Because he wants you.

Growing up, it's always just been expectations thrown at you, never any understanding for the things and aspirations you would have. Everyone always just told you what to do, what to be, what to become. And then 'JK' showed up, gave you attention for who you were, became interested and obsessed with you, and not what you could be.

Maybe that's why you're not scared of him.

He's never done any harm to you at all, at the end of the day. He's always been more concerned for your well being than anything else, never stepping further than you'd let him. It made you feel totally in control of the situation, no matter what anybody else would say.

Though, his next messages certainly made you shudder a bit- reminding you that he's not a friend, but still someone unknown watching you at all times.

And that he might be closer than you'd think.

Lucifer

Wouldn't want to tell anyone anything for fear of being blackmailed later. Plus he's just a private person in general so he's not one to generally over share. But when he does have something he just can't keep to himself anymore he tells Simeon. They were friends in the Celestial Realm and now they've found that closeness again. He knows they can go out and have a cup of tea together and just relax while talking ahout whatever and he knows his secrets are safe with Simeon.

A close second would be Diavolo. There are some things he'll tell him about but, most of his secrets are ABOUT Diavolo. Plus even though Diavolo keeps his secrets that doesn't mean he won't also blackmail him should the desire suit him, usually to their mutual benefit of course, but still, Lucifer would just as soon not be put at his mercy.

Mammon

 He surprisingly has a lot of secrets. You'd look at him and assume that loud mouth is exactly what he appears to be. Plus he's so easy to read no way he keeps secrets well. But...there are some select situations he does. Especially when they're about things he's done no one knows about. Because theres a difference between being a good secret keeper and being a good liar.

When he does share secrets they're usually with Asmo. He's the one who spends the most time with him so he's privy to alot of Mammon's night time dealings. Plus, he's the one least likely to judge him because he doesn't care as much about things not directly related to himself/Solomon so hes usually not even really listening, so Mammon can spill his guts to his hearts content knowing Asmo  probably only heard 1/3rd of it.

Surprisingly the 2nd person he ends up sharing the most with is Levi. They're closer then they appear to be. Because although Levi may get angry and annoyed at Mammon he's still a good brother. He wouldn't tell any of his secrets. He doesn't even use them for blackmail. He finds other benign things to black mail him for. It always works anyway. Levi listens to Mammon when he's having trouble and he really needs someone to talk to. Levi doesnt think  good with advice but hes a sympathetic ear to listen.

Levi

He does a ton of embarrassing things. And there are a lot of things he'd rather his brothers never know about. Or people in general, but especially his brothers. He's not really one to open up to people or willingly share information. So for the most part he hides all of his own secrets and keeps them to himself. But if he does HAVE to tell some one something It's usually Beel. They play video games together regularly so it's a good oppurtunity to talk about things that he may need to get off his chest. Or gossip he may have heard that he just can't keep to himself anymore. And he knows he can trust Beel. Noone is getting a secret out of him. Beel is the most loyal of all his brothers, he'd never break a promise on purpose.

When Levi has gossip that he needs more information on he swaps secrets with Asmo. He knows that Asmo knows. So if he wants to know something he'll talk to him about. Knowing that their sharw of information is secret. As long as Levi lets Asmo play dress up for an hour. Sometimes rhe sacrifice is worth it.

OKAY SO DECIDING WHAT TO DO HERE this is going to be low activity so im not jumbling around, but the itch is certainly here for this silly man .

I am going to choose to play him main verse rather then post just so I can explore that part ( just uuh dont think about it too hard contextual/time wise gfdgfd ). But Ill play by ear too if you want post-Rose! Im loose on this so ya know, however the wind blows!

Im going to type a quick overview of things when Im not at work whoops, but just to get this out here because its been a major problem in the past that kills my muse quickly.

Please don't? Sort of write me in a corner by having a muse be super hostile to the point that it kind of,,,doesnt go anywhere? Kinda hard to explain 🤔 Like obviously as a villain or a moral-grey it's warranted, but to come from muses who either wouldnt know about the event, wasn't there personally, wouldnt feel about it one way or another or such a thing wouldn't affect them, etc it's daunting to make a good thread or interaction from that. Obviously galar muses/gym leaders and what not would feel some kind of way because it affects them directly. This is more for post-Rose then anything. I think this mostly comes from playing as the MC and having that first player perspective and meta when your muse is someone completely different. This happens like every game and it's bound to happen.

And again I'm not saying be nice or sympathize cause how your character or muse feels is not up to me (like rich dude literally is trying to set up armageddon for a problem that's not really a problem so--), but dont expect any deep plot or ic growth w/ Rose if they're hostile always right off the bat.

Because sometimes Beel takes his brothers / others food to satiate himself at the cost of them going hungry but like... not super sure? There’s also someone who said (i cant remember the URL but it was on tumblr talking about the demon brothers and analysis) that maybe what Beel feels isnt hunger but the emptiness/void caused by Lilith’s death and his own guilt? Like, he’s not actually hungry, he just learned to associate being overwhelmingly full with not having to think about the Fall and then the exercises is him keeping himself so busy he doesnt have time to process his trauma. Idk, they described it so much better than i can put to words. But i think Beel’s hunger is physical too like he actually gets starved and sick or soemthing? Idk.

Suzanne Collins took a lot of inspiration from Roman gladiatorial matches, and rich Romans would often have pitchers or buckets nearby to upchuck their food in order to keep eating. It’s… really gross to think about, why would you want to keep eating with the taste of PUKE in your mouth????

And yea, I see Beel’s gluttony as being a sin because his consumption of food is hurting others. When he clears out the fridge, his brothers don’t get to eat, when he throws a hunger tantrum, things get broken and people get hurt. It’s a sin because it’s directly effecting others, and it’s happening a LOT, Gluttony is habitual greed, doing anything to an excess where it hurts people and making a habit out of doing so.

To an extent, I like to think that because of their own unresolved issues, ALL of the brothers are using their sins to fill a void, like people do in real life. Gambling addicts for example, are addicts, addiction doesn’t just happen to perfectly happy people who have a great support system and nothing wrong in their lives. Same with sex and food addicts, same with chronic laziness and anger issues, same with pride. This is why I like to think that after MC comes into their lives and helps them work through their struggles, the brothers’ sins begin to dictate and control them less. The sin will always be there, but they can control it more easily.
