Coral Island isn't finished??? That's some bullshit. I enjoyed the game well enough in EA, but I was actually looking forward to playing the full release. Guess I'll have to wait longer. Anyways, devs, stop releasing unfinished games in your "full release" version!

The game is implied to be complete on their store page, it doesn't say anything about the giants or the merfolk questlines being incomplete and it doesn't matter if they are their kickstarter stretch goals now that they're selling it as a 1.0 full release game if they don't disclose that on the main page of the game imo.

I shouldn't be hit with a fucking WIP (which is what happens with the giant storyline) in a full game lol.

They could've hidden the stuff with the giants being incomplete better instead of straight up slapping you in the face with that giant WIP & the knowledge that you paid for an incomplete storyline that the game tells you is an important main quest. They don't even mention it on their roadmap lol.

And the merfolk are a painfully incomplete feature, bc you can't even befriend them or romance them, give them gifts or anything. Then you see that all the merfolk content including storylines are all on the 2024 road map so sometime next year, maybe.

And to top it all off apparently the game has been abysmal on consoles lol and there are features in the game that are super buggy or just outright lacklustre.

making a dumb list for myself what id love to see if they ever make ts5 in the future

1. cars are back and either can use them like in ts2 or 3 i won’t complain either way

2. teenagers to actually look like teenagers and have teenage outfits or at least have them filtered outfits

3. can put stairs diagonally

4. more stuff to do in the base game so you don’t have to buy tens of very expensive dlcs

5. ooh maybe a motorbike you can actually use like cars and bike like in ts3

6. actual holidays (tbh idk if there are any in ts4 maybe there are but idk and idk whether you can celebrate them don’t quote me on that)

7. DIFFERENT. HEIGHTS. FOR. ALL. SIMS especially when you give them heels or platforms they need to get taller with those

8. tbh i would love them to consult some people, creators (cc creators or builders) from the ts community like they did with the recent stuff pack that was free OR MAYBE some full collaborations with cc creators that would be so cool!

9. them to actually SLOW DOWN ,take time and don’t churn out dlcs or stuff packs every other few months so there aren’t infinite errors for the game and actually pay properly the people behind this. because this really sucks

10. oh maybe more colour variations, i don’t need the extreme stuff ts3 had but maybe if i can change the frame of the bed and bed covers individually that’d be great.

11. absolutely don’t know what kind of animals are in ts4 currently but if we got like parrots, lizards or snakes etc that’d be cool as well, hamsters.

COD BOPS 6: one day I'll play these games (i've heard from multiple ppl that the storylines in black ops specifically are rly good) but no opinion rn tbqh

doom: the dark ages: very weird pivot??? kinda curious about it. of all the settings they could have chosen to toss the doomguy in, medieval fantasy wasn't the one I was expecting...! art direction looked good, but still kinda gave me "this is the Christmas episode" vibes, like jazz the jackrabbit having a holiday reskin... except instead of a holiday reskin, it's medieval times... hopefully that makes sense lmao

state of decay 3: not very familiar with this series so meh... looked like any other generic zambie shooter to me, but inb4 ppl holler at me about the games bein rly good

dragon age: the veilguard: no real opinion. i played the original dragon age for like, an hour when it was newish, never finished it lol

starfield DLC: that's nice ig

fallout 76 expac/updates: that's nice ig

clair obscur: expedition 33: looks interesting? but idk if this would be a game i'd be into. it appears to be a turn-based RPG and it's based off of la belle époque era of french art/architecture, so the art design looks baller? and the monster designs look interesting. i'll have to keep an eye out.

south of midnight: now this? this one looks hella interesting. the art style is kinda weird; the cutscenes seemed to be at a lower FPS so it almost looks like stop-motion? but i couldn't tell if that was uh... purposefully or not LMAO. but other than that, the setting is really weird and interesting! almost like bayou horror combined with fantasy nonsense monsters and stuff... and i liked the dynamic of the lead character and the monster guy who was ferrying her around. gameplay looks okay, but hopefully it handles well. i might very well get this one when it comes out.

WOW: the war within: no interest in this tbh

metal gear solid: snake eater remake: looks fine? never rly got into MGS myself, but it looks nice

sea of thieves expac: that's nice ig

flintlock: the siege of dawn: simultaneously looks interesting and generic so idk how they managed that. i like the idea of the little companion thing expanding your moveset options, but i feel like this isn't doing anything new per se. meh

age of mythology retold: was not expecting this asspull tbh LMAO. for those who aren't aware, this was a game microsoft developed and released in 2002, so it's basically a remaster. but idk who was asking for it... not that it's a bad game, but it was released in a sea of other similar games at the time. maybe that's why? i feel like there's a bit of a dearth of these games for console/PC, maybe? tho tbh i feel like this style of game is way more prolific on mobile devices... at least it's not a mobile port!

perfect dark: this one was really weird... like, microsoft owns rare, but crystal dynamics is developing this? idk if this is a soft reboot or a sequel to the last game, but it looked fine? i was never into perfect dark (either on n64 or xbox) but it looks like a solid stealth action game... just not one i have much interest in atm

diablo IV: vessel of hatred: okay, so real talk: i haven't played diablo since i was a kid on a windows 95 machine lmao so i'm so far removed from Current Day diablo. but that being said, the opening trailer was pretty dope. it was nasty, uncanny body horror and it certainly held my attention. this is an expac to a game i've never played, and iirc diablo IV is online-only crap, which blows. but the art direction in this trailer was probs my favorite, just removed from the fact it's for a video game expac lmao

fable: sure looks like a fable game. i never rly got into them (this is a running theme can you tell lmao) but the trailer was charming enough, i guess.

fragpunk: now this is ANOTHER team-based FPS (or "hero shooter"), but the gimmick looked intriguing. changing the game's rules at the start of each round definitely sounds like it would keep things interesting, but i wonder how it would suss out with multiple people using abilities at once? idk, the art direct looked nice, gameplay footage looked As Expected. we'll see

winter burrow: mouse game

mixtape: ???? i have no idea what this game is LMAO it appears to be set in the 80s, and they touted how the game's soundtrack would have a bunch of music from bands n shit from the era... but one of the bands they listed was the smashing pumpkins...??? huh??? like idk what they were smoking, but they're off by a decade there LMAO. but other than that, it just looked like nothing. a life sim?? idk what the story is? idk anything other than "music from the 80s is good, also look at this choppy animation because it's aesthetic ig" and that's all i got from it

microsoft flight simulator 2024: looks fun! the ability to explore the areas you're flying by after landing sounds like it could be fun and cozy. this series is ancient and i never rly got into it, but this entry might tempt me just bc it looks fun

life is strange: double exposure: okay, again, never had any real interest in this series but i might check this one out. i like murder mysteries and the flipping back and forth between the realities looks fun

wuchang: fallen feathers: i was starting to check out by this point, but rewatching the trailer, it's yet another game that has nice art direction and that's all i can really say about it

s.t.a.l.k.e.r. 2: heart of chornobyl: was not expecting to see another entry in this series, but it looks intriguing. i like these types of settings, so i may check it out

gears of war: e-day: it's a gears game. i tried gears of war ages ago, it didn't really grab me so i never went back to it

so all in all? there wasn't a lot of hype for me personally because a lot of these series are either ones i've tried and didn't get into, ones i haven't played since i was a kid, or ones that i never even bothered to try. in all honesty, the newer titles were more interesting to me than most of the established franchise stuff they showed off.

however, i think there's a lot for people to get excited about if they already like some of these franchises. lots of updates to stuff, so i'm sure that there's excitement to be had for that.

the titles that ended up catching my attention/interest the most ended up being doom: the dark ages, south of midnight, s.t.a.l.k.e.r. 2, microsoft flight simulator 2024, fragpunk (morbid curiosity more than anything else tbh) and maaaaybe clair obscur.

not a total waste of time, but nothing too hype-inducing for me.

I really should be asleep right now. But I can't seem to get comfortable and when I do, my brain just won't shut up. So here I am, writing to you. I've been thinking about you a lot lately. I don't know why. I think I've been missing you a bit. Is it strange to miss you? I don't know. I'm sorry if it is.

I really hope your blood tests came back okay and everything is all well with your health. Do you know when you'll have surgery yet? I was thinking about that the other day and hoping I hadn't missed it, so I could wish you good luck for it. I'm really glad to hear that you've found a job you can do that will turn into a career too and that you can get the training for it. Has that happened yet? Or are you still waiting?

I knew you were thinking of leaving the band, and that's okay. If it's ran it's course for you, then I'm sure your bandmates will be understanding, especially if they're your friends. I really hope the last two shows went well and that you enjoyed playing them at least and I hope the last show you do next month is good too. Will it be near your birthday? Because I know that's coming up really soon too. It's the week after I get back from another comic con, I go away on 17th November and come home on the 19th, so I'm just gone for the weekend. This time it's in Wales, I've only been there once when I was a kid.

Aw no poor Chonky :( I really really hope she's okay now. It sucks when our pets get sick, because they don't have a voice to tell you exactly what's wrong, so it can be pretty worrying. It's a good job that owners can usually tell though when something's wrong and what it could be, because they know their pet well. But it sounds like you did the right thing for her and I hope she's feeling much better now. I'm sure she loved having you look after her and care for her and make sure she was all okay.

Don't worry about streaming and stuff, you can come back to it whenever you feel like it, whenever you have the time. I look forward to the next time you do, I've missed chilling in your chat and just.. hanging out. I liked it before. I actually was playing some of the Cyberpunk DLC myself the other week, it was quite fun haha. But I definitely think I need to start upgrading my PC soon. Definitely a new fan and CPU and maybe a secondary SSD. I would upgrade my GPU but those are so expensive and my 1080 still serves me well at the moment.

I'm sorry it's been a little bit since I last wrote, I've just been busy with work mostly. I haven't had much going on or much exciting happening. Apart from going over to Belfast to surprise my best friend, that was quite cool. We went to another convention, I just booked a flight and a hotel and turned up. She had no clue I was coming and was really surprised when I got there haha. I literally just went over for like.. 24 hours. I'd felt bad cause I had to cancel a trip to go see her at the end of this month just due to work and not being able to get the holidays and stuff. So I was pretty upset and just wanted to do something kinda.. fun and spontaneous? Idk

Ian Somerhalder walked by me too and didn't even notice it, it wasn't until my best friend pointed him out and I was like "oh shit" hahaha. But I was more excited about Peter Facinelli and Jackson Rathbone from Twilight, I used to love that when I was like.. 14. I would have met Ian and Paul too, but it was far too expensive for me. Maybe some day I will. I recently started watching The Vampire Diaries again, since it's spooky season and all and I haven't watched it for years. So I've went right back to the start, I'm at the end of season 1 right now where Isobel is in it (I hate Isobel. And I fucking hate John Gilbert too)

It was also my dad's birthday on 8th October. That was a pretty hard day. I was quite sad and upset all day, but I watched a lot of my dad's favourite programs and stuff and tried to distract myself. Red Dwarf, Monty Python, The Mighty Boosh (which me and my dad actually started watching together) and some Billy Connolly. I also listened to some of his favourite music too. And I got a clootie dumpling from a local bakery (it's like a Christmas pudding kind of but not as rich), coincidentally it was the same bakery me and my dad and grandma and grandpa would go to, it was just down the street from my grandma's house. My grandma used to make him one for his birthday every year when he was a kid, instead of a birthday cake because it was cheaper. And he loved it. It was one of his favourite things. He'd always ask me to bring him some down when I'd go down and visit him in Nottingham, because you can't really get it anywhere in England and to make a proper one yourself, it's a bit of a pain and really easy to mess up if you don't do certain things right lol. When he was in the nursing home, I remember one day the chef had came to talk to him and asked him about food he liked and stuff. He was telling me that they'd asked him what kind of birthday cake he wanted and my dad immediately asked if he could have a dumpling. The chef agreed and said they absolutely could do that and I remember my dad being so so happy. His face was just.. completely lit up, big wide smiles, all excited. I think that's what made me extra sad, because he had been so excited for his birthday and his dumpling. He really liked the simple things in life, honestly.

So even though he wasn't here, he got his dumpling. I went out early on the Saturday morning and picked it up, had a chat with the guy who owns the bakery (who actually weirdly recognised me and asked me who my family were, so I told him and he immediately remembered me from when I was a kid, telling me about how he remembered I'd come in with my grandma to get the rolls and the papers, how I'd come in with my dad for a yum yum or a strawberry tart lol. I unfortunately had to break the news of my dad's passing to him, he didn't know. And he was quite sympathetic. He was a nice guy, just as friendly as I remembered when I was a kid. I'll attach a picture of the dumpling to this so you can see. I stuck a candle in it and everything for him. Sang him happy birthday and cried while doing so. But I knew he'd be nearby. I knew he'd be standing right behind me hugging me while I did. God just writing this is making me tear up a little bit.

I've started some grief counselling too. I think they are really helping me. I'm getting it through the hospice who helped with dad's end of life care, even though the were only involved for.. well a few days.. they've given me more support that some family have (my mother included. I'm still at odds with her. She's done more horrible and nasty shit since we last spoke and.. honestly I'm just seeing her for her true colours now, realising that I've been gaslit, emotionally neglected and manipulated by her for a very long time). My boss has been more than happy to allow me to attend these sessions, because they know in the long run it's going to help me and isn't going to affect my performance at work or anything. I'm actually doing really well at work at the moment, even considering that it is incredibly stressful and emotionally/mentally taxing at times, but I've had nothing but good reports in my weekly catch ups with my manager so far. So I think it's safe to say they can see that I am more than capable of doing the job. I just wanna try get through my probation and then move to a different department. Something that doesn't involve talking to customers lol.

Gran also got out of hospital, which is a good thing. She's back home and still resting and stuff, trying to get her strength back. She was in there for like.. just over a month. Unfortunately we don't think shes gonna be able to get any more chemo though, which sucks. But we're hoping her oncologist will still be able to do surgery for her, we just have to keep trying to get her strength up and make sure she's eating well and we're getting her walking and stuff. Even if it's just to the kitchen and back or around the garden. Small steps. It hopefully will make a big difference. I've been making sure to go see her at least once a week, even just for a couple hours at the very least.

I don't have much else going on right now. It's just work and looking forward to next month when I go to Wales. I don't think I have anything incredibly exciting planned for Halloween, which sucks, but I'll be working this year unfortunately. Maybe I can just relax and watch some spooky movies after work, eat some terrible sweets and enjoy myself a little. Oh and I'm on some new medication too actually, I'm not sure if it's working yet, I don't feel anything different. This is for a physical thing, not a mental thing. But it's nothing too serious, just something I need to like.. manage symptoms of.

I really hope you're doing well, E. I hope everything's going good and that your health is good and Chonky is good and work is starting and surgery is getting scheduled and all the good things. I know it must be getting warmer there too, because it's definitely getting fucking colder here haha. I've been absolutely frozen in the mornings for a couple days now, until I turn the heat on again and warm up. I think it's gonna be a reaaaaally cold winter this year which is unfortunate.

Yeah, you will eventually be able to romance him, but unfortunately it is a paid DLC. Cove is the only love interest who’s entirely free-to-play. You can  follow our social media for when we giveaways for a chance to win a key for it, though.

i know that y’all said the step 3 dlc and step 4 will be released early 2021, is there any update to that? for example, a rough amount of days/weeks until release? no pressure at all, i’m super excited!! <3 

The Step 3 DLC will be about in maybe two-two and half months or so. Step 4, we’re not entirely sure. Maybe a few months after the Step 3. We don’t want to give set dates until we’re really close to the release since otherwise we wouldn’t be able to 100% guarantee them.

First off love the game. Second I'm a little confused on how the nsfw dlc is gonna work. Because based on some stuff you've said it sounds like a patreon only thing and others make me think it could be an itch/steam thing after the fact? Would you mind clarifying for me 😅. Also if it's a patreon only thing do you need to become one before it's released? 

It’s not going to be on Steam/Itch. The actual game of Our Life is safe for teens with no adult content. Any 18+ stuff we’re releasing is separate bonus content. Right now the only for sure plan is having it available through Patreon. If there’s another hosting site that’s not Steam or Itch that’d be easier for people than Patreon we might consider uploading it there too, but nothing else is set.

If you want the bonus Moment you’d have to join once it’s already out or sometime after the release. Joining now would get you our current rewards, but wouldn’t get you future content that’s coming later.

this is probably an awkward question and i apologize, feel free not to answer, but i just wanted to address the elephant in the room....will step 4 acknowledge covid/2020 world events?? i kind of hope not bc i'd like to just exist in a fictional version of the world where things are happy in this quaint seaside town and the world isn't falling apart, but i'd understand if there are some references to it. just thought i'd ask so i can Prepare if that makes sense

Step 4 isn’t going to include Covid or even reference it. When we set Step 4 in that year we definitely didn’t know there’d be a global pandemic during it. It’s too late to move the timeframe earlier or later, but we’re not going to make Step 4 stressful for anyone because the real world became so much more stressful. The universe of Our Life will just be an even more idealized place than it was before.

None of those settings are canon. They’re all equally valid.

I love the game and Cove so much that I ended up spending most of the holidays playing it. Definitely worth it! Idk if you're taking suggestions/criticisms, but I chose the peach skin tone and seeing it written as "my peach skin" in the game broke immersion for me because I kept thinking it was referring to the fruit instead of my skin color. I think that skin color is most commonly referred to as "fair" but "peachy" or "rosy" would work too if you're looking for a different word

So I accidentally overwrote a save file with a different one, is there any way I can recover that save? 

Sadly, there isn’t. Not unless you had a backup of the actual save file files in a separate location you can get. I’m really sorry. You can try using the skip feature to quickly speed through the game and get back to where you were though.

Do you try to maintain the color scheme for the clothing throughout the years in Our Life? 

Yes, though in hindsight not as much as I wished I did, haha. It could’ve been a little more cohesive. It was a bit too broad in my opinion.

I noticed that Cliff mentions he wasn’t much older than Cove before finding out he was going to be a father when he finds MC in bed with Cove during Part 3 so doesn’t that Cliff and Kyra were teenage/young parents? 

Yeah, Cliff was nineteen and Kyra was eighteen when Cove was born. They were just a couple of kids.

Does Cove have a favourite holiday? 

It changes depending on the year. Around Step 1 he’s not a huge fan of a lot of holidays because he’s not together with his whole family for them. But once he’s older and Kyra comes around more, he starts appreciating major family holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas more than other holidays because he knows how it feels not to have that. Though summer vacation is of course his most favorite all the time, if that counts as a “holiday”.

To get to the point, SWSH is in my bottom three Pokemon games and if I didn't have a generational challenge run through all the Pokemon gens going on, I'd probably never start another file on it and let it collect dust like Ultra Moon.

I'd talk about what I liked and didn't like in full but idk if you want that exactly? And also this is gonna be long as hell anyways and I don't wanna fuel any "Wow you made this THIS long?? You care too much!!" thoughts. So I'm just gonna jump straight into what I think is definitely the main problem behind the scenes.

So. NatDex.

I'm just going to say that honestly? Cutting out the National Dex was a long time coming. We're up to over 800 Pokemon now, with their shinies and gender differences, all these different forms, and what, only 200 are gonna be used in a gen at a time? With everything else needed to be ported into the game? Yeah no, they had to pull the plug on that eventually. And honestly, I don't mind. I'm the type to replay old games constantly, so if I want Gliscor on my team, then I can just go boot up a Sinnoh game. Sure, I'll be sad if Gliscor continuously doesn't make the cut in future games, maybe even mad, but it's not the end of the world.

That's not to say there are no issues with how it was handled, the PR for it was awful. Saying it was for the sake of animation was a gigantamax mistake.

But here's what I absolutely hate when people put their two cents in. "Gamefreak fucked it up! Gamefreak was lazy! Gamefreak intentionally bastardized the game by taking out the National Dex because they don't care!"

Like... I'm not saying Gamefreak are completely innocent in every tedious thing about Pokemon, there's that disaster with the ORAS battle frontier, which iirc was totally them. But... think about it for more than two seconds.

Pokemon has had a yearly mainseries release for over a decade now, with one break for Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, developed by Spike Chunsoft, to take the holiday release in 2015, and if you count the DLC being the unofficial "third version", then 2021 is the first time Gamefreak isn't releasing a new game, and that's debatable since Legends is coming out in Janurary 2022. While games with similar popularity like Mario and Zelda have years between their games, usually with spinoffs to keep people entertained. So basically, Gamefreak has been working nonstop on Pokemon, with the pressure of releasing an entire game in a year, with not many breaks I assume. And there are multiple reports of burnout and crunch time in order to get these games out, because god forbid we let an actual spinoff come out for people to take a breather on.

If anything, the problem is with TPCI, not Gamefreak. TPCI, which has everything on a tight schedule, and who has more money than DISNEY apparently, yet they still need to wring as much money out of people as possible, as soon as possible, and they clearly don't care about what it takes to get to that point.

So with all of that? I think it's insanely tone deaf to go "Gamefreak intentionally ruined my game because they're lazy bitches who can't be bothered". Because this is clearly the ultimate result of all the burnout.

Of course the game looks half finished in some areas. Of course the animations are mostly carried over and just touched up on. Of course they couldn't do a whole lot. Of course there was no National Dex. With that development time and crunch, they need to cut a TON of corners. All that stuff in the beta wasn't dropped because Gamefreak yawned and shoved it aside, it was because they literally could not feasibly put it all in and make it work as a fully functional game in time. This is the culmination of the past decade's burnout, and this is what I would expect from most Pokemon games from now on if this keeps up.

So yeah, I hate most Natdexxer takes on the game because they're incredibly tone deaf. But then I also hate when people smugly go "Well, SWSH sold MORE than most Pokemon games, so ACTUALLY it's sooooo much better than you think and it has no problems whatsoever, and pointing out any problems with it is an evil and awful thing you should hate yourself for :)" Like... first of all, ya don't think that maybe has something to do with the Game being worth $60-90 on a TV console as opposed to $40 on the 3ds? And second... it feels so dismissive of the actual problem. It almost feels like instead of "ugh gamefreak is so lazy", it's "um, there's nothing wrong with how SWSH was made and there's no problem with the yearly releases! They're all the same quality and there's nothing wrong behind the scenes whatsoever, silly!" And while yeah, there's not much WE can do about anything, I'm not trying to sound holier than thou or that you shouldnt buy the games for your kids or yourself or anything... it's just that it's not good to act like there's no issues either. Unfortunately, those seem to be the two opposing sides for the large part, and it's exhausting because the main problem is unaddressed.

tldr: i hate people calling gamefreak lazy and harassing them over it, or acting like people criticizing the game are evil and daring to pick apart perfection, when the game is Like That because of crunch time and poor work environments

my super-specific Sonic Adventure 1&2 remake wishlist!

welcome back to another episode of me blasting out Sonic drafts I was too scared to post years ago! rev up those light speed shoes cus this is gonna be a long one!

first off shit I’d want in general

retranslated dialogue thats truer to the Japanese originals' tone and keeps the intended subtext

but with the most iconic English lines left in ("Get a load of THIS", "I'll slam dunk it in there"). The Faker scene can stay unchanged, interruption and all

small additions to cutscenes to help explain Little Things people have debated for decades (like whether G.U.N. framed Sonic to cover up Shadow's existence or if that’s just a legitimate plot hole)

all the MIDI cutscene songs redone with real instruments and/or an orchestra! all the other songs are already perfect and Should Not Be Touched

make the Emerald radar beep in time to the level music so it’s less annoying

okay, time for a spicy one: voice acting. hoo boy

Getting the entire original cast probably isn’t possible (for studio and contract reasons, not just Tails’s growing up and Eggman’s dying), and I feel the series’ current cast is just so different in tone and direction that they’d clash with the Adventure era. (will make an exception for Mike Pollock tho, he’s said some iconic Adventure lines already and I loved his take on them!)

So my preference? A compromise: a separate voice cast comprised of whichever OG’s are still game and soundalikes for the rest, complete with an actual kid as Tails. Too good to be true? Probably, but whatever it’s my wishlist

lighting and other subtle effects based on the Dreamcast originals (long story short a lot of these got broken from the GameCube ports onward, there’s video comparisons)

textures remade from scratch cus as much as i love that they used their field trip photos, it probably wouldnt fly today lol

new character models based on Adventure-era promotional artwork! after these games, the characters' proportions shifted over time, giving the impression that they've grown up a little since. it's a very subtle difference, but its enough that just using the now-standard Modern Sonic models would look kinda off

said models shouldn't change between games. like if youre playing SA1 and switch to SA2, the only thing that should change about Sonic is his shoes (before upgrades of course)

speaking of upgrades, an option to remove them visually would be nice, they can get kinda distracting during cutscenes

Unleashed-style redesigns of all the humans!! my heart yearns for it!!!

an option to turn off the Ball of Light/Omochao

the SA2B multiplayer mode but with the SA1-exclusive characters added maybe?

every DLC thing ever reinstated! the extra Kart Races and special Chao as unlockables, maybe the holiday stuff can show up at wintertime NiGHTS style? the Nike one might not be possible tho

Super Sonic/Shadow in normal levels as an unlockable like the Lord intended

Very Important: the game must be revealed with Eggman “hacking” the screens at a public Sega presentation, followed by a trailer that starts with this scene in modern CGI. It’s the hypest way I can think of to do it, and also people could slap A Certain Meme onto it as soon as humanly possible

fix Big’s fishing. idk how, i haven’t played enough fishing games to know what constitutes a good one, but there’s gotta be something they can do

replace the A-B-C level goals with the 5-missions-each system from SA2 cus it allows for more variety

use the ranking system from SA2 too cus it got used in every game made since anyway

use Generations’s Perfect Chaos design since that’s how he was meant to look in the first place

add the Chao Key to the SA1 levels for quicker access like in SA2

new behaviors for Chao to learn, new hats and accessories, new toys, new race courses, maybe new breeds?? new Chao stuff in general!!

make it so animals don’t walk into the garden entrances!! you don't know true pain if you've never tried picking one up, accidentally left the garden, went back in, and the animal was gone

swap out SA1′s racing mechanics with SA2′s. keep the “alternate paths based on stats” thing tho

imagine if you will.... an 8-player online Chao race. imagine the chaos (pun completely intended)

a brand new minigame to join the legendary likes of Racing and Karate! personally id love one based on Chao In Space. like your Chao has to beat the others in a dogfight and its stats determine its ship's stats and weapons

an optional mobile app that combines the VMU’s Chao Adventures and the GBA’s Tiny Chao Garden! maybe with some extra Pokemon Go-ish features??

that’s all i got.... Good God i love these two games. of course they’re not spotless, i just made a long list of issues i have with them. but they’re still important cornerstones of the series in many ways, and it’d be nice to see them remade so people can remember why :’)

I started it during the end of year holidays and my uni friends were like “you HAVEN’T played mass effect?!?!” I had no idea of the controversy over its “adult content” or the extended ending. I played first as a soldier, then infiltrator and adept. I have started playthroughs as an engineer, vanguard and sentinel, still getting the hang of the last two classes.

Favourite game of the series: ME1 is pretty rad and very self-contained BUT ME3 has very good music and excellent development of characters BUT ME2 has that sense of freedom and exploration so uh.

A teaser that is just ‘we’ll tell you more about botw2 in june but nothing now’. And in june we’ll get a botw2 trailer and a name and a release date that absolutely won’t be this year lmao. 

If they do a remake collection, it’ll probably release in time for the holidays so they can demand everyones christmas money. (they’ll announce the remakes in february, it comes out in november or smth like that). HOPEFULLY they don’t do the same shit ‘if you dont buy these by march of the next year, go fuck yourself!’

if botw2 DOES come out this year, then I think they’ll still hold off on any official announcement until june if they are releasing anything else(like the SSHD remake). If that’s the case they’ll probably do SSHD in march, and then announce botw2 in june for a holiday release. botw2 coming out this year might mean the remake collection won’t be a thing, or it’ll be announced at the same time as SSHD. I don’t think they would pack SSHD, WWHD, and TPHD together. I mean they COULD, but nintendo loves money, and they’re going to want the full 60 dollars for SSHD and then throwing the others together. I could be wrong though, they could be lenient and pack them altogether. 

i just still wish, as i always do, for a top down dungeon maker. They did this a little in links awakening, and it sucked, but it could not suck...it could be awesome....

not to create depth where there isn’t any or anything but literally everything that people hate or otherwise vilify Faye for is clearly the direct product of her having a life-threatening and traumatic experience as a literal 8 year old (and Ram Village not having any therapists :^U) and while yes, in execution it created a character that comes off as heavily one-note for the vast majority of her appearances -which, to be fair, still serves as more than enough to be a point of contention for people who aren’t into that kind of thing- there’s nonetheless plenty of evidence that there’s far more to her than just being yet another character with an unrequited crush on the dashing main character

She becomes attached to the point of an unhealthy fixation to Alm because she feels that he was the one responsible for saving her, and since this occurs when she was so young its no surprise that those feelings transform into romantic affection or at the very least feelings that Faye interprets as attraction even if they may truly be something more along the lines of appreciation

She comes to view Celica as a rival/antagonist to herself, consciously because she considers her as a rival in love (which is certainly aggravated by Celica being physically out of the picture for half of Alm’s life having done nothing to assuage his feelings for her) and potentially and almost certainly subconsciously due to the role that she played in the attack they faced as children. Celica isn’t to blame for Slayde and friends appearing in Ram Village 9 years ago, but memory is a fickle thing and memories of traumatic events even more so and it isn’t unfair to say that Celica’s presence certainly didn’t help resolve the situation.

If you choose to decline to recruit Faye with Alm and instead recruit her with Celica before you reach Act 3 (did you know: you can do that), Faye’s really pissed at that Alm Just Up And Left and is, in fact, quite happy to see Celica. There admittedly isn’t much to go off of for this because she doesn’t have any additional dialogue if you recruit her with Celica, but she nontheless will go with Celica if you turned her down with Alm (unlike Silque, who, while she still has lines if encountered by Celica, will not go with Celica)

This is reading pretty far into this, but it’s pretty strong evidence that Faye doesn’t actually love Alm, and that she just thinks she does because as long as you recruit her during act one she never has any sort of impetus to reevaluate her feelings and figure out how she actually views him. By being all “lol nope, you’re not coming with us” to her, Faye has been given the harsh wake-up call that she otherwise never gets; Alm choosing Celica over Faye every step of their journey doesn’t mean that he doesn’t like her, just that he likes Celica more. Even being told “I don’t love you in the way you love me” in their a support still carries the subtext of “but it’s not that I dislike you”, but by leaving her behind she’s forced to confront the fact that he didn’t like her enough to bring her along which causes her introspection to spiral from that into realizing “hey maybe i don’t actually want to date him” and then, from how glad she is to see Celica after being left behind, she would go from that to “hey maybe i didn’t actually hate Celica”

“Faye’s a Yandere XD” is like. okay sure you could read her “I’ll fight all your enemies for you, Alm!” support as that if you have a really shaky grasp on what a yandere is (hint: it’s more than just “I’ll commit violence in the name of love!”) but in the context of everything else it’s a young woman both desperate to prove herself worthy to the one she loves (who does not love her back in the way that she loves him) while also now being suddenly thrust into a situation where she, now more than ever, wants to keep him safe. Faye’s never been to war before, but she’s smart enough to realize that she needs to take this seriously in order to not die and if she can impress Alm and keep him safe while she’s at it? three birds with one stone.

“haha wow faye got alm a bunch of steaks for valentines day, look at how unhinged she is! lol” Alm’s only favorite taste if we exclude the obviously non-canon 7-11 dlc? meaty. you can do the math. Rudolf, who does some Kinda Stupid Things but is otherwise an intelligent man in full possession of his mental facilities, gets his son and his nephew each a fancy dagger, and from that we can infer that Valentines in Valentia isn’t just a holiday where you get people you care about chocolate or flowers and are done: it’s more along the lines of a broad ‘gift giving’ holiday (like. idk. a ‘fully secularized christmas’ or something) and in that context getting a person you’re fond of something they’d like getting them their favorite food is (surprise!) perfectly normal. She does get him way too much, but it’s just in line with Faye’s tendency to overdo things.

“she never moves on” yeah uh. funny how childhood trauma and the maladaptive coping techniques used to survive to adulthood just don’t ever really go away. they get weaker and have less sway over a person as they grow and mature beyond them, as can be seen in her willingness to marry someone else in her ending, but they never truly disappear, as can be seen in her continual attachment to Alm despite being married.

“she’s singularly fixated on alm, even to the point where her support with Silque is all about Alm” yeah and then Silque/Faye A is the exact opposite of that. Of course she goes into it being all “not alm? not interested” since it’s consistent with who she is but the support itself is just the victim of the “three conversations per pair” rule because it just. ends prematurely. Silque approaches Faye in C, Faye gives her ‘response’ in B, and in A Faye realizes “hey i was kinda a massive jerk, sorry” and says so to Silque and if they had even a single additional conversation it’s clear that following this progression that Faye would become more and more open to the idea of allowing more than just Alm into her world.

1: The Speaker.

Said literally three things in the entire franchise. He told you to fight but that we can’t win, he gave a speech nobody listened to because we were all thinking “is this it? Really?”, and then he told Ghaul to kill himself. Yeah the Speaker dies but who really gives a shit? We’re not given any reason to care are we?

2: Zavalla.

Apparently this boy does not understand promotions. “We killed all the Cabal leaders, why are they not gone?” Idk mate, maybe because that’s not how that works. “We stepped into a war with the cabal” yeah and you’re doing pretty shit mate. Sure he’s supposedly busy managing and planning shit, but really it doesn’t translate well in game. He might as well have two lines in the entire game where he alternates between “mah walls” and “we stepped into a war with the cabal” and he’d be the same.

3: Ikora.

Good in the crucible apparently? All she does these days is stand around looking stern and running an intelligence group that can be brought to a grinding halt by a fucking storm. Ikora, listen, if your satellites can’t withstand a storm they’re not much use are they?

4: Cayde.

TLDR, Bungie killed your fave.

5: Eris.

Creepy Hive lady. Very convenient for her to turn up in time for the Hive DLC’s and then disappear when they weren’t at the forefront. Will admit, I was mildly surprised she wasn’t brought back for the Warmind DLC because it has Hive. What did she really do though? She gave us some advice on Hive, had her shit stolen, and was looked down on by pretty much everyone. Only redeemable feature I can thing of is the rule 34 fan art of her which is great if you like generic rule 34 art where the woman’s chest and ass are exaggerated to shit.

Speaking of which, Bungie, I know the Destiny Franchise takes place in a period where food shortages are probably frequent, but mix it up with your fucking character designs. Not everyone is the same height and build you cowards.

6: At this point my mind went blank and I had to google “destiny characters”

7: Ghost.

Look at what the Speaker did. It took a multitool and gave it sentience.

The Ghost is really inconsistent, let’s be real. You want me to hack a lazer grid on earth, sure but that’s going to take precisely three waves of enemies and you’d better not miss one. You want me to access Cabal consoles on our very first time accessing the computer shit of an alien that likely has a numerical system that works off of base 3? Easy shit, no waiting involved.

Yeah, the “talk to your ghost” thing was great and honestly, I liked that. It was a moment for you to sit down ant talk to your Ghost, the one constant companion you have. It was a good moment.

And then they go right back to alternating between being a torch and a lockpick.

Bungie really fucked up with the Ghost-Guardian interaction in vanilla D2. The two of them nearly died, Light was lost, and the two don’t sit down and have a “talk to ghost” moment at any point? That’s theft of a possibly great emotional moment.

8: Crota

He is bad because he kills people

9: Oryx

He is also bad because he kills people and he’s mad you killed his son who he can bring back because We didn’t destroy Crota’s soul or something?

10: The EXO Stranger

In going to find the tweet I wanted I found something worse. Luke Smith had said he felt they had wrapped up her arc and quite frankly I haven’t heard a more objectively wrong thing come out of a human beings mouth with regards to games in a long time.

But it gets worse. Because 4 fucking years later, bungie dropped clues to who she might be if you paid enough attention to the shitshow of the Warmind DLC. According to lore from the dlc and the rasputin arg, there are hints that the EXO Stranger is Ana Bray’s sister who went back in time from the future as an exo to?

No, you know what. That’s bullshit. Bungie thought they finished the exo stranger arc, which was a shambling corpse of writing itself, then learnt actually they were wrong and tried to wrap it up.

Except none of it’s confirmed and explains nothing. Fuck the stranger, and fuck everyone involved in the creation of her character and her arc, learn how to write a story.

11: While we’re here, Ana bray.

Bungie’s first confirmed non-straight woman. I don’t know if it was confirmed if she’s a lesbian, bi, pan, or what so I’m using non-straight until I get confirmation otherwise. Had her girlfriend introduced on the fourth day of pride in a comic where she died. Great start.

But what about Ana herself?

Honestly, I couldn’t tell you. I tried to play Warminds but the Hive ruined it because Bungie is quite frankly not great at writing their own game are they?

12: Ghaul

Quite frankly, my favourite character. I dropped enough money on D2 to get the collectors edition cabal book which gave quite a lot of backstory to the campaign, however I’ll keep this to what Bungie actually make accessible in their game.

He’s an arsehole. He’s just the antagonist of the day, let’s be real. To understand that his behaviours and attitudes might somewhat stem from how he was shunned in mainstream cabal society and how this loneliness and bitterness from being an orphan as well as a runt was used to manipulate him into being how he is today, is completely lost on anyone who didn’t read his lore.

The game doesn’t put any significant thought into him on the actual disc that you play because, like Crota, like Oryx, like Skolas, he’s just an episodic villain.

How bad was this dlc? I mean, sure, we ran through the same area repeatedly, killed a Vex reskin of Oryx, and watched a Cabal jump on a vex. Twice. Once in a mission and again in a strike.

I can’t think of what Osiris did in this DLC except think he was able to do this himself, and then be the only reason we could damage Oryx- I mean, uh Panoptes.

Wait. Did they give a Vex guy that tries to simulate all the universes a name after an ancient Greek figure who was the source of the “eyes of Argus” stuff? I think they did.

15: Amanda Holiday.

She has a robotic leg, an american(?) accent, and didn’t stop Cayde from doing his stupid bullshit plan that she knew was illegal. She also had a quest for an exotic shotgun that makes her different from other vendors. I get that as a vendor she doesn’t need an in depth backstory but Bungie, come on. If you’re going to make her important to parts of the story, give us reason to care about her.

16: Tess Eververse

Is there an actual ingame reason for her to be there? Is Silver explained? Is Bright Dust? As far as I can tell, no. Literally bolted on because Activision couldn’t let EA one-up them in microtransaction bullshittery.

17: Mara Sov

Cold, aloof, had fallen as pets. Was it confirmed how dead she is?

18: Uldren Sov

The only episodic villain I like aside from Ghaul. Uldren is great once you realise that he is how he is because of a bitterness towards Guardians. I mean, we turned up in his house demanding stuff, and the City on at least one occasion, let the Reef take a big loss for us with no acknowledgement. I can understand why he’d be pissed off in the first place and if he was somewhat possessed then sure that’s not going to help.

Most people are just pissed with him because he killed Cayde, but now he’s back as a Guardian that anger seems to have calmed. I’ve stopped playing the game since Warminds and I can’t say for anything that happened since, and while I hope Uldren as a Guardian grows as a character I won’t hold my breath.

19: Variks.

He stayed loyal to the reef and was helpful for a brief stint before we all shamed him for his mine dismantling kink.

20: Is that it?

I can’t think of anyone else. Sure, there are vendors and other side characters, but honestly, those are cardboard cutouts of a character with no depth of anything to them.

Sure, you could say “but drexmun, what about The Drifter, or the Spider, or Obb the Soulcarver?”

There was only onetext. One from this ‘Unknown’ person, who basically said the fun would start now.But what fun? What did they want from you? What did they expect you to do here,with these people… surely they didn’t lure you here just so you could makenew friends and suddenly do charity work.

SOMETHING other than *knows each other for 5 seconds* “hehe we’re best friends :)”. in acnl i made NO friends other than zell and kiki (who is a staple villager for me) because i had no incentive to make any friends. everyone is exactly the same. boring

^^ maybe animals in a town can have relationships with each other? like dotty and felicity are friends, but dotty hates poncho. i dont know what this could do other than more errands to run but it would help the town feel more alive

Or you could sell it for a a little bit of Money
