Chapter 1 of My Girl, My Girl, My Girl is doneeeeeeee, so I just need to check it over and edit it and then I can finally start uploading this fic :DDD

I can't fucking wait, it's gonna be so fun. Tons of fluff and smut, and a little bit of angst but i got most of my angst needs out of my system with If It Ain't Broken, so the angst in this should be pretty gentle honestly. out of curiosity what's everyone's metric for deciding between a T and M rating on ao3? mine is that i ask myself "would i have been okay reading this as a teenager" but i also read a song of ice and fire for the first time when i was 14 and idk if that's like. the normal standard for what's appropriate for teens or not

#i also watched breaking bad for the first time when i was 14 so it was a big year for me media-wise i guess #i was not scarred by either bb or asoiaf although i did get a lot more out of both coming back to them as an adult #and i know of at least one other person who read asoiaf at the same age. so my ao3 rating strategy is maybe fine?#that being said i've been described as having “the emotional range of a teaspoon”#so it's possible that things just upset me less than other people and i should be using a different baseline #for the record i don't think the emotional range of a teaspoon thing was meant as an insult but either way it makes me laugh #just in case anyone was about to get offended on my behalf #kvetch oc

i know it's completely within an author's rights to revoke access to any of their works for any reason, and especially as a fellow author i'd never want to actually deprive someone of that right... but it's genuinely hard to describe how truly gutting it feels when i try to revisit one of my favorite fics and find it gone :(

#it's been happening at a weirdly high rate recently #like in the past year alone #not just a handful. more than one handful #some of them i'm still not over tbh #aphelion.txt #fanfic #ao3 #ive deleted like maybe one fic ever. i dont really believe in deleting my fics personally #but i recognize that it would be absolutely insane to hold anyone else to my personal standard. esp since i do have exception(s) to it #Oh and one of the fics i'm thinking of had like 30 kudos #i looked for it for actual hours i was soo sad i couldn't find it again #i went thru like every fic in the relevant tag(s) to make sure #even very underappreciated and niche fics can lodge themselves permanently in someone's heart

God I can't wait to start writing the gender exploration fic for Sorry, It's Locked now that If It Ain't Broken is done, like, it's gonna be ridiculously fluffy by comparison lmao. Im starting to realize this more and more. With pretty much all i write for clexa (g!p clarke, pregnant lexa, etc) it was something that I was TERRIFIED of posting about before. Getting people to talk to me about it more and seeing that there are people who want to hear about it and who !!! have ideas!! and plots!! and send them to me really made me feel like i wasnt one solo little pea in the fandom 😅

But theres still that part of me who wants feedback and who like to see the number go up and because I sometimes dont get a lot of feedback from the smaller group i have around here i feel like i need to "cut back on the niche stuff".

So yeah, thats my explanation on why /sometimes/ i end up sometimes deciding to not go with g!p clarke, just so i wont feel.... left out, i guess?

if you say 'fuck' multiple times in a fic, it's not General Audiences!! if you wouldn't see it in a 'G' rated movie, you wouldn't see it in a 'G' rated fic.

Teen and Up = PG-13 with leeway

Teen and Up = PG-13 if you could say fuck multiple times

General Audiences = you cannot say fuck

You up it to mature when there's sexual content/violence that would be beyond what you'd see in a PG-13 movie. M is for like... R-rated but mild.

Explicit is R rated and beyond.

Please for the love of everything start tagging your fics correctly again.
