i just absolutely adore the fact that one of the first things we learned about michael nolastname colinsboyfriend tedlasso is that he doesn't know anything about football and yet he still went to the team dinner at sam's restaurant as colin's ""friend"" in episode 3 and in this episode he watched an entire live game and stormed the pitch afterwards and kissed colin and told him he was so proud of him. michael may not care about football but he sure as hell cares about colin

What if Rebecca had been Bantr-ing with Boat Guy instead of Sam?
So they spend months talking and getting to know each other over the app, but they never get a chance to meet until she literally falls into a canal in front of him
They get to know each other as strangers in Amsterdam, all the while feeling like they already know each other, but since they don't share names they never make the connection
It's not until they're texting during that day she goes to the airport and then they bump into each other that they finally put in all together
In the end, it's Rebecca who gets the You've Got Mail rom-com ending
(while also giving more weight to the Boat Guy romance plot lol)

❤️ - "what are your favorite scenes from your WIPs?"
Trying to think of ones I haven't really talked about before and then my mind just keeps going back to the plum scene from ATRDM but I've already shared most of the plum scene so here's a little bit post plums:
Roy had a very strong feeling in his gut that Simon didn't actually need more plums for the crumble. Clue one was how happy Georgie looked to see Jamie grinning when they returned back to the house with bag of illegal plums in hand. "Knew a walk would perk you right up," she wrapped Jamie in a hug and kissed him on the cheek. Jamie melted into the affection from his mum.
"You're always right," he murmured into her neck. Clue two was Simon's reaction to recieving the bag of plums. Roy remembered Simon's advice from earlier in the day and decided to leave Jamie and Georgie to their hugs and deliver the plums.
"Hey Simon, we're back with the plums," Roy called out from the doorway as Simon was hustling about with the finishing touches on the Sunday roast that was hundred percent not on Jamie's diet plan. But Georgie and Simon days were auto cheat days, that was practically written into Jamie's Richmond contract. Simon stopped, blinked a couple of times while staring at the pork joint.
"Oh yes. Thanks Roy. Drop em down there. You need to remind Jamie to stop off here on your way back down south. I've got some fresh orange juice from Janice at the farmers market and am experimenting with variations on the traditional plum jam," Simon explained, hands waving in some sort of crushing motion (at least that's what Roy thinks anyway).
"We will. Anything I can do to help?" Roy offered and was quickly put to work. He went to pull the Yorkshire puddings off the hob where they were keeping warm and that's where he spotted it. Clue three, the already cooking plum and apple crumble sat in the oven.
❗ - "how many WIPs do you have?"
Immediate answer ... too many!
Serious answer, i'll split into two categories
Part Posted - 13
Unposted - 24
✏️ - "what are your current WIPs about?"
Because I've just established I've got 37 lol I'll pick the ones I am working on actively at the moment:
God Forbid You Leave Me (Like the Rest Did) - The Dad!Higgins fic. Jamie wakes up after being beaten up by his dad and Higgins is at his bedside. He gets convinced into spending the time he is in a cast with the Higgins family and uses that time to work on some of his trauma and make decisions about his life going forward
Dutch Courage Chapter 3 - Jamie starts to try and return to his life with his stalker just sending texts every so often. He goes on a run with Roy, enjoys training, goes out for coffee with Jan and Isaac ... and then gets sent a video of him in the shop he was currently in, subtly threatening Jan for trying to take Jamie away from her.
Make Me Fret Chapter 4 - The news comes out that Rupert targeted Jamie in the West Ham match and everyone deals with the fallout as Jamie is finally released from hospital

unorganized ted lasso finale thoughts
There wasn't much question to me that Ted had to end up with Henry, whatever that looked like: moving back, a better custody arrangement, Henry moving...something had to change there. What I don't like is that it feels like we didn't develop this arc for Ted over the season. We start with him feeling conflicted/not knowing why he's still in London, and then in the penultimate episode he reveals to his mother he is scared of being close to Henry because he knows Henry will leave.
Personally, I now feel pretty bummed that Ted is now separated from his found family and I think it's because they didn't develop this story enough throughout the season.
I wish we had seen Ted working on his fears about fatherhood and that work leading him to the conclusion "I love my life in Richmond, but being there for my son is what will make me truly happy". In a season that was apparently going to lead us here, it feels like Ted's ending was rushed.
Plus, I feel pretty sad that we did get the emotional beats about him leaving with Rebecca/Higgins/the team/even the pub lads and Mae, because him telling everyone happened offscreen.

So |'m sure more creative people than me have pointed this out, but: the guy who scored the 3-0 is literally called "Regenboog" or Rainbow.
That, uh, seems like it probably was not a coincidence because, spoiler: that's not a very common name. Probably it means something, is what I'm saying, in this show of ours that keeps getting queerer.

Ted Lasso Wednesday Thoughts!!!
Rebecca's Dutch pal seems....he seems like a fella who could possibly be called Rupert...not that he seems like Rupert, just seems like A Rupert. And he would be a swell New Rupert lmao
Jamie taught his grandad to ride a bike, to honor Jamie's grandad's grandad. pardon me while I'm sobbing.
"You fellas say pillow fight one time and we're never watching a movie again" or whatever Ted said
Arguably my single most important thought ever? Ted got reverse-Princess-Bride-d. (To "get Princecess-bride-d" one would be served 1 of 2 glasses, both of which have Substance. a reverse-Princess-Bride situation is that you think both glasses have Substance, but neither does.) And neither of them referenced the Princess Bride??? The Beard serving glasses of tea with Something in it scene was so Dread Pirate Roberts and that's such a Ted/Beard movie!!! I'm hurt and shocked and offended not to have had them mention it.
