I loved the lukabrina art (I've seen it called that ship name too)! And yes you should draw more of Sabrina 😁
Just as a little fun thing for being so amazing some headcanons from my own fics for them:
She calls him senpai, yes, she is that otaku.
He calls her issi after they have been dating for a while. It's short for Pianissimo which is 'to play softly' in music terms.
He couldn't initially hear her song, because he was trying to listen as the audience, but it turns out he was a part of the music. (He can hear her song when they are doing things together)
She struggles with the attention he gives her. She both loves it and is overwhelmed by it.
He is likewise overwhelmed st times, by her sincerity. He is used to people hiding their emotions from him and having to intuit meanings. With her it is just all out there, and he's not used to so much openness.
She plays the ocarina(yes she is still a dork) bit not very well. She also plays the recorder, this one very well. (I had written this long before the movie came out)
He tried to ask her out the first time vis texts. She literally ran to the boat to be there in person (a sweaty panting mess) because 'You just have to do these things right.'
Hope this was as enjoyable to read as your art is to observe :)
I'm so happy that you like it!! 🥰 (and I'm def gonna draw more Sabrina once I get some ideas <3)
and oooooooh lukabrina headcanons!!!!!
Hehe the nicknames are cute! (I can imagine Kagami not having much of an opinion on Sabrina, but then she overhears her call Luka 'senpai' and suddenly she's judging her. excessively.)
Aww Sabrina struggling with the attention.〒▽〒 Makes sense considering that she's usually the one giving the attention without receiving much back, but oughhh....
Eeee them both being so good for each other but also being overwhelmed by each other's affection...adorable...
Guitar / orcarina duet time! :D
Her insisting on being asked out in person is cute!!! They're cute!!
And yes, these were so much fun to read; thank you for sharing!!! :D

Bug-a-boy ~ Luka & Adrien x Male Reader
Idk about this one... but I wanted to write it. Basically a miraculous holder reader x adrien and luka College Au: Luka - 19 / Adrien - 18 / Reader - 18 word count: 1.2k m!reader (no genitalia mentioned) / FDNI
Tumblr media
Your college class is huge
But it's to be expected, you do go to the most popular college in Paris
You share the class with a group of friends that came from Francoise Dupont
Luckily, the groups appointed leader befriended you pretty early into the year
Marrientte Dupain-cheng was the kindest girl you knew
And her friends: Alya, Nino, Adrien and Sabrina weren't too bad either
Actually, you liked them a lot, and you were glad that they wanted to be friends with you
There was also this other guy from the year above, Luka
You didn't talk to him much, but the others were fond of him
But the few times you two did talk, he was nothing but calm and welcoming
All in all, you love your college and your friends
However...
The one setback to coming to Paris for school, was the Akuma's
After Hawk-moth's fall, a new owner of the Butterfly miraculous came to power
But to counteract that, Paris has its own team of Miraculous bearers
The only problem was, currently, Paris has no ladybug...
During a massive fight against a very powerful, akumatized villain, Ladybug was hit, and her powers disappeared
Well, not literally, she remained transformed, however the villains power made it as if she were a regular adult wearing a superhero costume...
After sending Chat Noir, Rena Rouge and Viperion off to distract the villain, a now powerless Ladybug was running over to your college
After swapping out her miraculous from the Ladybug to another one, "Ladybug" finds you, hidden inside of a locker
"AHHHH! ANOTHER VILLAIN!" You shout, not recognising Ladybug with a new miraculous
"Not quite, (y/n)" she chuckles
"It's me, Ladybug. But my miraculous has been rendered useless..."
"Oh... I'm so sorry, Ladybug, wish I could help you somehow" you sympathise
"There is." Ladybug looks into your eyes with determination
"(Y/n) (L/n), here is the miraculous of the Ladybug, it offers the power of creation. I entrust you with this miraculous to fulfill my role while I can't, after that, you're to return these earrings to me - understood?" Ladybug explains with a grin
"Yes, Ladybug! I won't disappoint you"
After putting on the earrings the kwamii appears, explains the whole shtick and you get going
"Tikki, Spots on!" You shout and then you're set
"Once I'm fixed by the miraculous ladybugs, I'll use the horse miraculous to teleport you back to me, okay?"
"Of course Ladybug!"
And you were off, using your yo-yo to swing around the streets of Paris until you reached the action
A now powerless Rena Rouge trying to distract the villain as Chat Noir and Viperion try to figure out a plan while fighting the thing
"What the fuck..." Chat mumbles when you catch his eye, waving at him in a coy manner from a roof top
Both men watch you, confused as you jump down to them
"Who are you? Where's Ladybug??" Viperion questions frantically
"She decided to pass her miraculous onto me for a little while until we solve this little issue"
"Fine by me as long as you know what you're doing, bug-a-boy" Chat noir slyly remarks as he leans on his pole
"Bug-a-boy... I like that" you giggle and then get to business
Immediately you call on your lucky charm
"Yep, defiantly a real Ladybug holder haha! What you gonna do with that bugg-a-boy" Chat noir laughs as you hold onto a seemingly useless looking lucky charm
"I do, actually!" You say with a smile
"Just follow my lead boys, if you can keep up" you chuckle as you use your yo-yo to swing into action
"Damn, that boy has more charisma than you Chat Noir" viperion chuckles
"He does, doesn't he..."
The two of them follow you quickly
"Rena! I'm gonna need you to get that thing under the arc-de-triumph!" You shout as you wizz past
"I'm on it"
"Viperion, once that villain" is under the Arc, use your second chance immediately please"
"Of course bug-a-boy" viperion smirks
Chat Noir looks at you smugly
You start to mark X's on the Arc using the bucket of paint your lucky-charm gave you
"I can see where this is going" the black cat chuckles
"Then you know when and where to use your cataclysm, kitty noir" you tease and spring into action when you see Rena Rouge and the villain coming your way
Once the villain is under the Arc, you use shout for Chat noir
He heads to one of the marks but before Chat can call his power, Viperion shouts
"Not that one! Try the one below it"
And so, once Chat Noir cataclysm's the Arc, it crumbles to pieces and buries the villain, one of the pieces crushing his akumatized item
"Bye bye little butterfly" you say with a chuckle, as the 3 other hero's watch you
The 2 men chuckling as a faint blush cover their faces
"Not a bad job for your first time, bug-a-boy"
"Do you really need to flirt with every Ladybug holder, Chat?" Rena jokes
"Yeah! Look at him, he's creeped out by you, he'd much prefer a snake over a cat" Viperion joins in
"What is up with you two"
"Haha, I like this team.... Miraculous Bug-a-boy!" You shout as you throw up the lucky-charm
5 seconds later, a portal appears next to you
"Good work, everyone!" A horse miraculous bearing Ladybug pops out
"Ladybug?!" Everyone questions
"Good job picking this one, Ladybug" Viperion chuckles as he puts an arm on your shoulder
"I look forward to seeing you soon again, mi'lord~" Chat Noir teases as he kisses your hand
"That's enough Chat Noir, you'll see him soon enough!" Ladybug chuckles as she brings you through the portal after your goodbyes
After handing back the miraculous, life went back to normal, except that Ladybug started to call on you more often, but with a different miraculous this time
Life at school was normal as always
However when you were out with the hero gang, you'd noticed Chat Noir and Viperion becoming cosier to you than they were to the others...
Like when Chat Noir started bringing you roses every time you were called on
Or one time, Viperion used his second chance to have "a perfect conversation" with you during patrol with you
You were flattered, but a little worried that the two were taking it too far
It had gotten to the point where the two of them were fighting, passive aggressive remarks and even disrupting fights against villains with their arguing
That was until Ladybug struck then a deal
"I will tell you his identity if you both stop this bickering, its becoming a problem. If you don't, I will take your miraculous"
Of course they both agreed
And that's when your school life changed as well
Because Adrien and Luka started bombarding you during your school day
Adrien already sat next to you in class, but during lunch Luka was on you like a snake to a rat
You were getting overwhelmed, but then again you loved the attention you were getting from them
After all, you hadn't ever had a boyfriend, this could be a nice change
Soon, the two of them started noticing that the other liked you
So they decided to combine their efforts
"Which one of us do you like the most!?!?" The two of them shout at you in frustration after weeks of trying to win you over
"I... I don't know! Okay?! I like you both... I don't wanna hurt one of you by rejecting you for the other"
"Then.... date us both?" Luka suggests with a smile
It took some convincing but the two of them managed to convince you
And life has been so much better since

The main reason I usually default to lesbian Chloe is because her interest in guys often seems extremely artificial and performative.
Its like if a guy performs traditional masculinity so intently that it ends up coming off as insincere. The same sort of thing tends to apply to Chloe with my reads.
Especially because her rather awkward, both too extreme, and yet very at a distance 'flirting' attempts on guys can be contrasted against her much more affectionate manner with Ladybug. Which seems to lack the same sort of language, both verbal and body, that comes out with guys.
Plus there's the fact she only ever seems to express an aesthetic appreciation (Luka), a weirdly oscillating mix of formality and performative gestures at a distant target (Ali), or otherwise seems to 'pursue' a guy who is seemingly profoundly disinterested, (Adrien).
Plus like, I tend to assume that if she wanted Adrien as a boyfriend she probably could have swung that before school was even a thing. She was literally his only friend and company, the idea she never even tried seems odd if she was truly super interesting.
Plus, when fear regarding her relationship with Adrien comes up its rooted in the friendship over a potentially lost lover. The times she does lean on the idea of Adrien being her BF, tend to be more implied and usually used for a bit of social clout before being forgotten just as quickly.
It all really adds to the feeling her interest is, either consciously or subconsciously performative. More about playing a role than it is something she's genuine about.
Oh yeah absolutely!
Chloé's supposed romantic interests are in like. Safe people. Adrien is her friend and she wouldn't mind marrying him but she knows he won't return any feelings like that. While she has connections to be able to meet various celebrities, from popular-but-quickly-irrelevant idols like XY or someone genuinely influential like Ali, they're also not really people that there's hope for a proper relationship with, so they're also 'safe' for her to show interest in.
I think the thing about Chloé's seeming to be a lesbian is mostly in the way that she repeats her parents' relationship dynamic with her most obvious relationships: Sabrina and Ladybug.
Sabrina is the more obvious one because here, Chloé is playing Audrey while Sabrina plays Andre. The demanding, the devotion, the verbal abuse mixed in with genuine affection, the cold shoulder when she does something 'wrong', etc.
With Ladybug, it flips. Chloé is fawning. She's doing anything and everything to please Ladybug. To make her like her. And falls into despair when she 'fails'.
These are things she doesn't really do with the males she's showing affection with.

Tales of Bloody Bug and Chat Noir - Chapter 36 - Mayura
Beginning || Previous || Next
Alix walked to school as she listened to the radio. She flipped between radio stations that weren’t giving their morning news segment when she heard of an announcement from the mayor. She listened to it as he declared in a couple of months, Paris would be hosting a Heros’ Day in honor of the heroes that safeguard the city. She lingered a moment on the idea of it. It was generous of the mayor, and even the people, to host such a day, but it felt premature. They had no idea who Hawkmoth was or how to get to him. Maybe in that time, they could catch him and have that day truly mean something.
Alix turned off the radio and hurried to school. She walked up the steps as she tuned into the buzz of everyone around her. They gossiped about the mayor’s announcement and what they would do for Heros’ Day. She snorted and stepped through the doors when a chill passed over her. She stopped as her stomach twisted in knots that she felt like she was going to throw up. She took a sharp breath and sat on a nearby empty bench. She took deep breaths as she attempted to soothe the uneasiness, but it lingered.
“Alix? Are you ok?” Kim asked.
Alix glanced up and saw Kim with Max beside him. “The fuck do you want?”
“If you’re going to be rude about it, then forget it.”
            “Good. Now fuck off.”
Kim flinched. Max nudged Kim forward.
“Actually, I wanted to apologize. For everything with Dark Cupid. I shouldn’t have come after you. I just… got really jealous that Chloe liked you more than me. You know?”
“Maybe it’s time you move on. If Chloe isn’t interested, there’s no point in pursuing someone that’ll never love you the way you want in return.”
“Precisely. I’ve told Kim this over the past couple of weeks since the incident. It has yet to fully sink in,” Max added.
Kim crossed his arms. “Yeah, well, it’s stupid. It’s me. Who better for Chloe than me?”
            “Alix?” Max asked.
Kim’s shoulders drooped before he shook himself off and glared at Alix. “What is it about you that won Chloe over? What do you have that I don’t?”
“I don’t fucking know, and I don’t fucking care either. I told Chloe that there won’t be anything between us. And unlike you, she respects my boundaries. Maybe that’s something you should get in your head instead of letting it escape through that empty chasm you call a brain.”
Kim’s jaw dropped and he glowered at Alix. She stood, flipped him off, and headed up to homeroom. Her nerves fried and ate her alive the closer she got to her homeroom. She gulped and leaned against the wall before she slid to the ground.
            “Alix? What’s wrong?” Rose cried.
Alix looked over at Rose, Juleka, and Luka. Rose knelt beside her while Juleka and Luka kept their distance.
“Sorry. I don’t feel well suddenly. Hit me like a damn truck,” Alix groaned.
“That explains your music. It’s jarring, unsettled, like it’s scared. No, not scared. A warning,” Luka whispered.
Juleka nodded. “You’re not alone, Alix. I feel it too.”
“Shit. I thought it was just… it doesn’t matter. What’s your sixth sense tell you, Juleka?” Alix asked.
“Danger. Real danger. Not like Hawkmoth. Hawkmoth there is unease, but it soothes over before long. This? This is all consuming.”
Alix stumbled to her feet. “Fuck this. I’m not waiting for it to show up.”
“But, school! You can’t just leave,” Rose whispered.
“I know, but I can’t just sit back and let whatever is going to happen, happen. Juleka, Luka, thank you. Have any of you seen Adrien?”
Juleka turned and pointed down in the courtyard. Alix peered over the railing at Adrien with Chloe, Nino, and Sabrina. Alix nodded to Juleka and Luka, pecked Rose on the cheek, then headed down to the others.
“Woah! Look who’s come to join us, dudes. How’s it hanging, Alix?” Nino asked.
“We’ve got trouble brewing. Something bad is on the horizon,” Alix whispered.
“What? How do you know?” Adrien asked.
“A sickening feeling and a pair of psychics. Say what you will, but I’m not about to doubt my own gut on this.”
“Well, do we have anything more to go off of than a gut feeling? I mean, what are we supposed to do anyway?” Chloe demanded.
“C’mon, dude, we’ll think of something. We just need to think,” Nino commented.
Alix drowned out Nino and Chloe’s arguing when she heard Rose and Luka yell out. She turned to see Juleka leaned against the railing for support. They fussed over Juleka, but Juleka’s eyes were glued to the front. She gulped as the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. She looked at the front and gasped. A woman in a dark blue dress with blue skin, short blue hair, and fuchsia eyes strolled in.
Alix reached for Adrien’s wrist and held him tight. He raised a brow when he looked in her direction. He gasped when he saw the woman. Cold dread consumed him when the woman looked at him and smiled. The woman closed the gap between them before Alix and Sabrina could react. He gulped as he stared up into her eyes before his gaze dropped to the peacock brooch at her chest.
Adrien gasped and stumbled back, but the woman caught him by his jaw. She pulled him closer to her and turned his head as she inspected him.
“Marvelous. Such a specimen you are. Born of love, unlike so many others. Well, there was one other, but it is such a poisonous love. Not like yours. So pure. So innocent. So… misguided and foolish.”
            “I don’t understand,” Adrien whined.
“You don’t need to, but further analysis is needed. It’ll give us something to do while we wait.”
“Wait? Wait for what? The heroes.”
The woman laughed. “Heavens, no. For Hawkmoth.”
Adrien opened his mouth when the woman grabbed him. She held him under her arm as she leapt out of the school’s courtyard. He gasped as she ran through Paris to the Eiffel Tower. She perched up on it before she let him down.
“What’s going on? Why did you take me?” Adrien demanded.
“I already told you. Now, for the attention.”
Adrien scrambled away, but the woman held up her hand that had a pair of twin silver rings on the middle finger.
            “Stop,” the woman commanded.
Compulsion fell over Adrien as he obeyed. His breath caught, his heart pounded, and fear consumed him. He glanced back at the rings as terror tore him apart.
The woman chuckled. “Oh, I just love the smell of fear.”
Adrien whimpered as the woman advanced. He recoiled from her outstretched hand when he spotted Bloody Bug and Porcelet. Excitement mingled with the fear as they attacked the woman. She sidestepped their attack and laughed.
“Almost, but the magic child gave you both away,” the woman said.
“Let him go!” Bloody Bug roared.
            “I don’t think I will. Not until I get what I want.”
            “Then I’ll just-!”
Porcelet stepped between Bloody Bug and the woman. “What is your name?”
            “Mayura.”
“Mayura, a pleasure. What is it you seek?”
“My, how civilized. Unlike other company. Very well, Porcelet. I seek a prize you cannot give me: Hawkmoth.”
“But why kidnap Adrien Agreste if you seek Hawkmoth?”
            Mayura chuckled. “Why indeed?”
“Enough of this! If you won’t give him back willingly, we’ll take him by force!” Bloody Bug yelled.
Mayura smiled. She plucked a feather out from her fan and let it go. It flew around Porcelet and changed from white to blue before it returned to Mayura’s fan. She grinned and created a slim creature that was skin clinging to bone. Slime and sludge oozed from the creature that emitted a horrendous odor that could turn any stomach. Its mouth hung agape in a permanent scream with empty, black eyes. Porcelet screamed while Bloody Bug jumped between Porcelet and the monster. She pointed her fan at the heroes as the creature howled and lunged. The heroes jumped off the tower as the creature pursued them.
            “W-what was that?” Adrien whispered.
“A magnificent specimen. One should be enough, but just to make sure.”
Mayura plucked another feather and pressed it against Adrien’s cheek. He flinched as the white feather turned blue and she returned it to her fan. She gave rise to a ghastly wolf creature that was as tall as a building. Its legs were thin and elongated while its torso bloated. Horns jutted out from the top of the creature’s head along its back into a long, spiked tail. Its mouth twisted into a sharp-toothed grin as its black, empty eyes shone with malicious intent.
Mayura pointed her fan towards the heroes, now joined by Gallic Chick and Carapace. The creature gave a deep, low laugh before it slithered down the tower. A choir of screams ripped through the air. Mayura grinned as she basked in the fear.
“W-why are you doing this? You say you want Hawkmoth, but instead you terrorize the city and fight the heroes. If what you say is true, why oppose the city and the heroes?” Adrien demanded.
“Please. A creature like you would never understand, even if I did explain it. You’re just incapable to understanding.”
“And why’s that? Because I’m a child in your eyes?”
“Heavens, no. Because you are made of love, so love is all you can truly know. Anything born out of malice, hatred, rage, and all that fun stuff, you cannot fathom. Unlike that cousin of yours. Or would he be your brother? You had different mothers, but you are one and the same, right? Hmm, this may require further testing.”
            “I don’t understand.”
            Mayura growled. “Silence.”
Compulsion fell over Adrien as he obeyed. He watched as the Bloody Bug unified with Ziggy into a black and white raven and fought the monsters with Gallic Chick. His heart ached seeing Porcelet and Carapace struggle to battle the nightmare creatures. He whined when Mayura grabbed his face and forced him to look up. His eyes widened seeing a news helicopter.
“Let the show begin,” Mayura hissed.
Mayura pressed her fan against herself, turning a feather blue. She created a massive bird the size of a plane with majestic dark blue and fuchsia feathers. She pointed her fan at the helicopter, and it retrieved the vehicle. The news crew inside cowered as she approached them.
“Please, don’t hurt us. We’re just-!” Nadja yelled.
“Cameras on me and you won’t be hurt.”
The cameraman nodded and pointed a camera at Mayura. She smirked and pulled Adrien closer by his jaw.
“Oh, Hawkmoth, look what I have. You want your investment to stay safe, you’ll come to the Eiffel Tower to reclaim him. And in case you get cold feet.”
Mayura flipped off the camera with the hand with the twin rings. She snapped her fingers and the giant bird released the helicopter. She looked down at the fight to see her creatures were ensnared and tied up. She scoffed and turned as Bloody Bug and the team cornered her.
“We’re done with this. You’ve lost. Give us Adrien.”
Mayura tapped her folded fan against her chin. She smirked as she tapped it once against the railing, dismissing her monsters. She grabbed Adrien and leapt over the edge.
            “Duusu! Unify!”
Adrien watched as light erupted from the brooch that enveloped Mayura. The light grew until it overshadowed the Eiffel Tower. It expanded and reshaped to the vague outline of a bird/human hybrid. He gulped as the light faded to reveal a massive anthropomorphic bird with six small wings, a plume of feathers styled like a fancy collar, and a long feather tail cape. Fuchsia eyes floated above her feather collar and tail that glared at them. The bird’s hand closed around him as it opened all of the eyes across its body.
Blood Raven gawked at the eldritch peacock monster before them. Her nerves ate away at her under its plethora of eyes. She sucked in a breath, jumped onto the railing, and glared at the monster.
“Bug, bird, whatever, I don’t think this is a good idea,” Carapace remarked.
“Are you insane? That thing still has Adrien. We have to fight it!” Gallic Chick snapped.
“Maybe we don’t have to. What if we found Hawkmoth? We don’t have to fight and risk Adrien,” Porcelet proposed.
“There’s no way I’m-!” Blood Raven started.
            “Peacock!” a man yelled.
Everyone turned to see a man in an outlandish butterfly super suit and mask. The heroes’ faces twisted in confusion while the peacock laughed.
“My, doesn’t this explain your horrible designs. Such a shame. I was expecting something more intimidating.”
            “Release the boy!”
The peacock shrugged and threw Adrien behind her. The heroes dove with Blood Raven being the one to catch Adrien. They ran to a nearby alleyway as a giant fox eldritch creature materialized.
Blood Raven gasped. “The old man!”
            “Old man?” Carapace asked.
“We’ll explain soon. We need a way to get rid of Mayura. Even if it is temporary.”
“Why? Let’s just go. We got Adrien. There’s no need to stay here and fight demons,” Carapace argued.
            “Excuse me, but there’s a-!”
“Please. We have Adrien. We could reengage, but there’s a good chance that we’ll get in the way of that fox. We should retreat while we have the chance,” Porcelet explained.
Blood Raven snarled. “Fine! Adrien, transform. We’re taking them to the old man’s place.”
Adrien nodded and transformed into Chat Noir. They headed through the city to Wang Fu’s massage shop. They entered his room, but it was empty. Chat Noir and Blood Raven shrugged as they sat at the table. The others exchanged glances before they took a seat. They waited there until Wang Fu returned.
“Good. You’re all here. We have business to discuss,” Wang Fu said.
“I’ll say. What was that thing?” Blood Raven demanded.
“That is a holder that reached the apex level and is fully attuned to their kwami. Something that is only for the Guardians.”
“What? What do you mean?” Chat Noir asked.
Wang Fu sighed. “See, usually with holders such as yourselves, we don’t allow you past the third tier. As it stands, Bloody Bug and Chat Noir are one step away from that while the rest of you are two steps. However, with that peacock holder, she’s one above that, making her on par with a Guardian like me.”
“Then what do we do? Can we even fight her?” Gallic Chick asked.
“Yes. But before that, Chat Noir, why was she after you?” Wang Fu asked.
“She didn’t explain well, but she wanted to use Adrien to get to Hawkmoth. I tried to get an explanation, but she never gave me one. And, on top of all that, she was able to control me.”
            “Hold up. Control you? How?”
“Well, she held up these silver wedding bands that looked like my mother and father’s wedding bands. She’d speak a command and I had to obey. There was no chance to refuse. I had to listen.”
Wang Fu’s eyes widened as they darkened with fear. “Oh no.”
            “Oh no?” Porcelet asked.
“This is grave. This is grave indeed. Chat Noir, I’m afraid that until Mayura is dealt with, you will need to be benched. For your and Plagg’s safety.”
            “What? Why?” Chat Noir cried.
“Chat Noir, I believe you are a sentimonster, a type of creature created by the peacock miraculous. With the power of emotions, the peacock can ‘give birth’ to constructs made of any emotion they desire. Typically, the holder would need consent, but at her level, she can take what she wants.”
“What? But how? I mean, I remember growing up. I remember birthdays, and Chloe, we grew up together. I’ve seen my own birth certificate! How am I one of those things?” Chat Noir demanded.
            “Yeah, how?” Gallic Chick added.
Wang Fu hummed. “I’m not sure. Most sentimonsters are made for a purpose, fulfill it, then are dismissed. It makes me wonder what purpose you were made for and what your function is. Regardless what the reason is, you are in danger, but as is Plagg. For both your safety, I ask you give Plagg back so we can find him a temporary holder.”
            “Just temporary? You promise?”
            “I promise.”
            “What about Stompp?”
Wang Fu hummed. “Keep Stompp. I want to see if his power could safeguard you from Mayura.”
“What’s his power on his own?”
“His power can safeguard you from other holders’ powers. With luck, that means the peacock shouldn’t be able to control you.”
Chat Noir sighed and nodded. He took off his ring and handed it to Wang Fu, who handed it to Blood Raven.
“Pick a holder you can trust as much as Adrien but can also be an asset to you against Mayura.”
            “I will. I promise.”
Wang Fu nodded and moved to his cabinets. He pulled out five elixirs and placed one in front of Gallic Chick, Porcelet, Carapace, Adrien, and Bloody Bug, then took a seat.
“Alright, now if you are to face this Mayura, you’ll need to be stronger. Gallic Chick, Carapace, and Porcelet, should you choose to stay and drink these potions, you’ll become more attuned to your kwamis. This will make you stronger and give you access to unification and passive powers based on the animal of the kwami.”
Gallic Chick and Porcelet’s eyes widened as they downed the elixirs. Carapace stared at it then shook his head. He pushed the elixir away, took off the turtle bracelet, and stood.
“Young man?” Wang Fu asked Nino.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can continue this. Not against Mayura. Hawkmoth was one thing with all his silly villains. But those monsters that Mayura made were horrifying. I just… I don’t think I can do this,” Nino explained.
Adrien stood and hugged Nino. “It’s ok, dude. We don’t think any less of you. We understand. Right?”
            Gallic Chick shrugged.
“Of course. I was terrified. She made one of those monsters from my own fear. Seeing it was horrifying. I’ll likely have nightmares, but I also can’t run and hide. There are people in danger just as much as me. I just would prefer I stand against the evil to defend those that can only stand behind me.”
“I don’t fucking care about demons or anything. She can throw all of hell at me so long as I get the chance to rip her smug as smirk off her face and out her fucking ass,” Blood Raven hissed.
Everyone pursed their lips as they stared at Blood Raven. Adrien shook his head and turned to Nino.
“See, it’s all good. Do what is best for you, bro.”
            “You sure, dude?”
            “Always.”
Nino smiled and hugged Adrien. “Thanks, bro.”
            “Be safe, bro.”
            “You too.”
Nino gave a final smile and wave before he left the room. Adrien sighed and took a seat next to Blood Raven.
“Very well. We’ll see about getting you both another team mate. Now, for your elixirs, they will make you stronger, further attune you to your kwamis, but also give you access to amalgamation fusions,” Wang Fu explained.
            “Amalgamation fusions?” Blood Raven asked.
“Yes. These fusions are quite… unique. Whereas most fusions will resemble a clear animal or creature, the amalgamations don’t. They will always appear as a mix of the animals with white skin, platinum appendages, and prismatic highlights. We have never figured out why all amalgamation fusions look like this. We just know that this is the result. And while Mayura is around, Bloody Bug, I want you to have this tool at your disposal. Especially if Mayura goes primal again.”
“So, that’s what that was? Some sort of primal form?” Porcelet asked.
“Yes. A form exclusive to those that are fully attuned, which is reserved only for Guardians. How Mayura came upon this knowledge, I know not.”
“And these amalgamations are enough to deal with the primal forms?” Gallic Chick asked.
“Close. They can match them in terms of power and strength. Another thing we’ve not been able to fully understand.”
            “Why’s that?” Adrien asked.
“Because all that knowledge was lost to us. See, kwamis’ jewels were made by a human known simply as the Mage. Any account of their work has been lost. All we know is what was recorded by later humans.”
“You don’t think Mayura might have found it, do you? The Mage’s lost records?” Porcelet asked.
“Highly unlikely, but I wouldn’t dismiss anything at this point. Now, Adrien and Bloody Bug, drink the elixir.”
Adrien listened and drank his. Blood Raven de-unified and drank hers. Wang Fu nodded and pulled out the miracle box.
“Pick a new teammate, as a team,” Wang Fu added.
“Well, there’s only been two others, right? Bomb Bee and Lady-,” Porcelet started.
“Bomb Bee,” Bloody Bug cut in.
“I would prefer Bomb Bee, please,” Adrien added.
Porcelet tilted her head. “Oh? Is something wrong with Lady Tigress?”
“Lady Tigress is Marinette,” Blood Raven said.
“Oh, hell no. We aren’t letting that bitch anywhere near Adrikins,” Gallic Chick said.
“Yeah, I have to agree. I’d prefer her not be near him… or me,” Porcelet said.
“Has she been bothering you?” Bloody Bug asked.
“Not exactly. Because of Chloe, she won’t get near me, but it doesn’t help that I can almost always feel her eyes burning a hole into me.”
“Maybe she should shift some of that focus on her own boyfriend,” Gallic Chick muttered.
Bloody Bug snorted and took the bee comb.
“Very good. Now, Bloody Bug, return the goat to me.”
            “What? Why?”
“I will be giving you kwamis suited for handling Mayura if she goes primal for your amalgamation fusion.”
Bloody Bug sighed and returned the hair clips to Wang Fu. He bowed his head and took out the tiger, fox, snake, and mouse miraculous.
“You are to keep these with you until Mayura is defeated. You may unify with them, but never all together unless necessary. Understood?”
“Yes. Alright, team, let’s head out. Porcelet, Gallic Chick, take Adrien home. I have some errands to run.”
Gallic Chick and Porcelet nodded as they escorted Adrien out. Bloody Bug put on the new miraculous and turned to leave when Wang Fu held up a hand. She stopped as he pulled out a pair of elixirs.
“Give these two to the new members. We’ll need them strong to face Mayura.”
“Aren’t you worried about using them all up?”
“Oh, no. These are the easiest to make. It’s the other two that you won’t see me just passing out. Especially the final one, but let’s hope that it doesn’t come to that.”
Bloody Bug nodded and took the elixirs. She placed them in her yo-yo and headed off. She swung by Alya’s apartment and tapped on the balcony doors. A pair of young girls gawked at her when Alya ran out of her room. Alya hurried onto the balcony before the girls could join them.
“Bloody Bug! How can I help you?”
Bloody Bug held up the bee comb.
Alya gasped. “For real? You’re giving me another chance?”
“More than that. Carapace left the team. We need someone else to take his place. I need someone fearless that can stare down a monster before they toss it back to hell. Who better than you?”
Alya grinned and put the comb in her hair. “Thank you. Thank you so much.”
            “That’s not all.”
Bloody Bug took out an elixir from her yo-yo and handed it to Alya.
            “What’s that?” Alya asked.
“An elixir that will attune you to your kwami, making you stronger.”
            “Oh, say no more.”
Alya took the elixir and downed it.
“Alright, be ready for whenever danger rises.”
            “Wait, I have a question.”
            “Yes?”
“Could I maybe post some of my escapades on my blog?”
Bloody Bug sighed. “Fine. But if you out yourself, that’s on you.”
            “Heard.”
“Good. I’ll see you later, Bee.”
Bloody Bug headed off to Liberty. She took a deep breath as she snuck into the ship’s hold. She glanced around until she saw Juleka sitting on her bed far across from her. They stared at each other until Juleka put her guitar down and hurried over. Rose and Luka poked their heads out before they joined her.
“What are you doing here like this?” Juleka asked.
Bloody Bug inhaled, then sighed. She pulled out the black cat ring and the elixir and held it out for Juleka.
“What… what is this?” Juleka asked.
“Juleka Couffaine, I’m entrusting you with the black cat ring as its temporary holder. Should you accept, this elixir will make you stronger like the rest of us.”
“Me? Are you sure? Surely you can’t be. This is just-!”
“Juleka, I’m serious. Chat Noir cannot be the black cat. It would be a terrible liability. With Carapace leaving the team and Porcelet admitting to being afraid, I need people unafraid of the terrors in the dark. Aside from Bomb Bee, you’re the only person I can count on to not shy away from the unknown and terrifying. It’s someone like you I need at my side until Chat Noir can return to being himself.”
“So, it’s just a temporary arrangement, yes?”
            “Yes.”
“Do it, Jewel! You’d be an amazing black cat. In more ways than one,” Rose said dreamily.
Juleka and Bloody Bug exchanged glances before Juleka sighed.
“Ok, I’ll be your second, just don’t expect me to be a leader or whatever. I’m not exactly the leader type.”
“That’s ok. I don’t expect you to. And hopefully you won’t need to so long as I’m here.”
Juleka put the ring on and drank the elixir.
“So, when am I getting a miraculous?” Rose asked.
“Hopefully in time. Right now, I can’t say. Not with everything that happened.”
“I hope soon. Luka has one, now Jewel. I’m feeling a little left out. I can fight,” Rose pouted.
“More Juleka has one. Luka may have one in his possession, but he shouldn’t be using it.”
            Luka pursed his lips.
“What have you done?” Juleka and Bloody Bug asked.
“Oh, uh, nothing big. Just, uh, used the power to enter the Burrow and, uh, talk to someone.”
            “Dammit! Fluff!” Bloody Bug yelled.
            “You called?” Fluff asked.
            “Stop making paradoxes!”
“Rude! I haven’t made any recently.”
“So, you haven’t told Luka to go into the Burrow to speak with the other Harlequin?”
“Oh! No, yeah, I did do that.”
            “Dammit, Fluff. Why?”
“I mean, who better to speak with Luka than that Harlequin? Besides, you making your own paradox helped you out, right?”
Bloody Bug pinched the bridge of her nose. “I’ve had enough here. I’m heading home. Look, I’ll be in touch if something comes up, ok?”
            Juleka gave a thumbs up.
“And, Fluff? You give me a headache.”
Fluff giggled. “Welcome to my world. My head is a never-ending ache.”
Bloody Bug shook her head. “Whatever. I’ll see you all later.”

Never Love An Anchor - Prologue:
Luka Couffaine was drowning. months of plotting and rallying and carefully preparing, all gone down the great blue ocean, along with his body and soon, his soul.
and just as he is about to accept his fate, while closing his eyes and ceasing his struggle to stay afloat, he catches a glimpse of brilliant orange and shimmering teal, swimming his way quickly.
He awoke to a gorgeous face haloed by the glaring sun, with too many questions and not enough air in his lungs to ask any of them, he began coughing up saltwater.
“Oh, oh my. Are you alright? I'm not sure humans are supposed to do that. Not that I’ve really drowned any myself to know for sure…” The gorgeous face spoke with an equally lovely voice. So lovely, in fact, that it took Luka a second to process the disturbing nature of the sentence.
“What-“ he had to cough and heave and cough again before continuing breathlessly. “What are you?” But the question was redundant. He was saved from drowning by a beautiful woman with a melodious voice who, by her own admission, was expected to drown humans. something she herself was not.
His savior was a siren.
“Calm down, sailor. If I wanted you dead then I wouldn't have bothered saving you, now would I?” the beautiful siren reassured him.
“That’s not nearly as hopeful a sentiment as you believe it to be. After all, what could a siren want with a man that she keeps him alive for?” Luka found himself arguing against his favor in his anxiety.
“The only hunger I wish to satiate with you, sailor - “ the siren leaned in close with the top half of her body, honeyed voice laced with a dangerous edge, closing in on his waist and allowing the suggestive nature of her words to linger for only a moment before innocently submerging her body back in the water and completing her sentence, “is my curiosity!”
“Curiosity? Of what kind?” Luka asked, suspicious and still a bit flustered.
“Oh, just the healthy, intellectual kind.” She explained readily, smirking subtly at having riled him up so successfully over nothing. The other sirens thought her a boring prude, but she just made a sailor blush! “A seafaring man such as yourself, one I found drowning no less, surely has some stories to tell?” She finished her explanation, phrasing the ending more like an invitation, perhaps a request.
What could she say? She loved unraveling a good mystery.
“And what exactly is in it for me if I tell you my whole sad story? You getting entertainment at the expense of me reliving my trauma hardly sounds like a fair trade.” Luka shot back, now slightly more at ease despite his better judgment and bantering freely.
“What? Does my excellent companionship not suffice? You do realize I could've just left once I rescued you and you'd be all alone here for who knows how long. As I've said, I'm no human expert, but even I know you don't do well in isolation.” Her words had a teasing edge to them, something about her tone letting him know that leaving him behind and alone was never an option for her. He found himself feeling just as curious about her as she was about him.
“Be that as it may, I still feel like this isn't an equal exchange. So what if we came to an agreement?” Making a deal with any sort of magical creature was dangerous business, but the siren was right about one thing. It's not like he was going anywhere anytime soon, so he might as well take a chance.
Sabrina's smile widened in excitement and her tail splashed around in the water. “I'm listening…”
“Ask me a question about myself, and I will endeavor to answer to the best of my ability. Then, I ask you one of my many questions and you give me some much-needed answers about yourself. Does that sound acceptable?”
“hmmm… well, sailor, you drive a hard bargain. But I believe you've got yourself a deal!”

Wish come true - Adrien AUGreste Day 9+10
It took a while for this one to get written and I was a bit back and forth on letting Ameile get the ring just based on the reason for why Gabreil wanted to keep it. I never actually watched s4 and 5, just know from friends hatewatching, and I had assumed the rings had a bigger part in the story but so far, they just seem to be family heirlooms. But again, because it’s not cannon past s3, Felix actually has a relationship with his dad. Anyway, enjoy!
Friends
“Remind me never to do Student UN again.” Adrien said, dropping onto the deck of the Liberty.
It was the Saturday after their schools Model UN and while Adrien lucked out with Lila not participating, she was back in school and made it her mission to make his life difficult by being a nascence. it took the whole class playing shield to keep him from actually hurting her. Chloe surprisingly had been a huge help, giving her a dress down that honestly, was too good to describe. Obviously, the Mayor’s daughter hadn’t done a whole 180 but with most people remembering how her mother treated her and starting to give her the benefit of the doubt, she was coming out from her spoiled shell. She was still spoiled and self-centred, that was Chloe, but Adrien compared her to Cleo from Monster High. She cared and wanted people to know that, it just took a while for her to find the ways of showing it.
“No need to applaud, I’ve arrived!” Chloe announced, stepping onto the ship, stumbling when Sabrina tripped off the gangplank and crashed into her. Her best friend stuttered apologizes when she turned to glare but the blonde took a breath and asked if she was ok.
Baby steps, that’s what it was about.
“Look on the bright side, two days and a full party where we don’t have to deal with her.” Nino said. He was leaning against Alya’s legs as she sat on the stage with Marinette and Alix, still going over the story about the Miraculous and their secret society. She’d been even more into it when the news riel about the sudden return of the Temple, with a very familiar looking mark, ran.
“And even better,” Luka said, kneeling down next to Adrien, “You now have more free time and I’ve gotten ahead in assignments.”
Adrien smiled to himself. “I guess that is something worth celebrating. Other than actually pulling off the school’s first Student UN.”
“Oh my god. Chloe!” Alya called.
“I didn’t do anything!”
“No.” Alya got up, practically shoving her phone into Chloe’s face. “Did you know about this? that this was today?”
Chloe’s eyes widened. “Crap. I can’t believe I forgot. I didn’t think I’d forget.”
“What?”
“Lila’s mom disappeared a year ago.”
“Died.” Chloe corrected. “She died, I’m sure of it. she was really sick, dizzy spells, fainting, confined to her bed for days. I never liked Lila, but I liked her mom. I can’t believe I forgot.”
“It’s been a busy year, what with Hawkmoth and everything.” Sabrina said.
“Not to mention Lila suddenly showing up at school.” Marinette reminded. “I’m sure her mother knows you care.”
“She showed up at school?” Adrien asked.
“Lila was homeschooled. With her dad’s popularity, Emile didn’t want her being stared at. Not like she cared; she was always doing something to make a mess of things. She would be a clothing model for her dad for clothes for her age group and clearly, she loved the attention.” Chloe said. “it started small then, but she started lying to get her way. Emile would catch her a few times but she started to get better and then Emile got sick, so she hid better. All of a sudden, she walks into the classroom with this lie that her father hated that she was being locked away and wanted her to be normal and interact with the people who bought his clothes.”
“Which also brought in the lies she told us basically about how she was involved in all our favourite things.” Alya reminded.
“Which Alya here actually helped expose a little. Did you know she said Jagged Stone wrote a love song about her?” Alix said, putting a hand on the reporter’s shoulder.
“Jagged Stone, is in his 30s.”
“Her lies went crashing down pretty soon after he made a statement about it not being true. Didn’t stop her, but we knew to fact check and before you know it, newest big model on the scene is the biggest scandal no one wants to deal with.”
“But she lost her mom.”
Adrien thought about how she reacted the first day he met her. She had no standing, clearly grasping at anything to be seen. He understood it, keeping up a façade because it was easier, but she seemed to take singular focus on attacking him, insulting his mother and her love. He could blame it on Lila’s own mother and her disappearance, but he didn’t know. The popular kids he me at his schools, a lot were mad at their parents, but unless they were involved in some way with yours, your own parents never made conversation. Any cheap shot about them was about their looks or their jobs, not their ability to love you. he felt bad for her, but it didn’t justify her behaviour. He did feel bad for Chloe though. He wondered if Emile Agreste had been more of a mom than her actual mother.
“Chloe, did you want to go give your condolences?” Adrien asked. “To Gabriel and maybe Lila? I mean, I don’t like her, but if my mama disappeared?”
“We should at least let her know we’re thinking of her.” Mylene said. “But if we all went.”
“She’d lose her head. Or lap it up. Or, I don’t know, maybe be normal.” Ivan pointed out, all valid points.
“her dad wouldn’t want his daughter’s whole class coming by. He doesn’t even leave his house.” Chloe reminded.
“So only a few of us. Chloe, you and Sabrina. Maybe Juleka, since you model for him? And Marinette, since you’re working his internship.” Rose suggested.
“I will be working his internship. And honestly, if Lila hates Adrien the most, she hates me second. She constantly goes after me trying to get me in trouble.” Marinette reminded.
“I’ll go.” Adrien said, shrugging when everyone looked at him. “I don’t like her, but I mentioned to her dad that I liked Solitude. Feels like I should at least let him know how sorry I am.”
“So, Chloe, Sabrina, Adrien and Juleka?”
“Except, Juleka is practically becoming the new face of the brand,” Luka reminded. “I don’t know her well, but I know her enough. If we’re worried what all of us being there will do, do we really think sending her replacement is a good idea?”
“Chloe, Sabrina, Adrien and Luka? if only to stop Adrien when Lila undoubtly pisses him off.” Rose said, Adrien looking insulted.
“Hey!”
“Oh, you know she’ll do it. get filming, I’ll call the limo.” Chloe said.
                                      ________________
“Yes?”
Chloe tossed her hair, standing at full hight. Adrien would admit, it was impressive how easily she fell into being her snooty self when she wanted something. There was Chloe who held onto her self-importance and could still be ok to be around and then there was this side, who after a few minutes, you’d be tempted to throw her off the Eiffel Tower.
That was probably why any akuma she caused would take her there.
“We’ve come to pay our respects to M. Agreste.” Sabrina nudged her, leaving her to sigh and roll her eyes. “And Lila I guess.”
“We have guests Chloe.”
“Oh, let her in. I haven’t seen her in years!” that was a different voice, but one that perked Chloe up. She turned to Adrien, who was messing with the plastic covering the bouquet. She smirked in a way that worried Sabrina, who started tugging on her jacket to get her to spill.
The gate swung open and Chloe led them to the door. It was pulled open and Adrien had to remind himself that Emile Agreste had been missing for a year. The woman who stood in front of them was near identical though.
“Chloe!”
“Amelie! It’s so nice to see you again. How is it in London? Great, I’d like you to meet someone. This is Adrien.” Chloe dragged Adrien over, ignoring his questions of what she was doing.
“Um, hi?”
“Oh, my goodness. Felix, Felix! Come over here. Look at this.” grabbing Adrien, the woman dragged him in the house, Chloe still ignoring the questions over what was going on, smiling at the scene before them.
Amelie brought Adrien to stand in front of someone. Someone with the same shade of hair and eyes, near the same height and had the same expression Adrien tended to have when truly annoyed or angry.
“It’s this amazing? Felix, you two look exactly alike. Lila, you must have been so surprised when he came to your class. I hear you’re new?”
“Um, yeah. I’m Adrien Rossi…and this is a little strange.”
Amelie giggled, clapping her hands. “Oh, this is amazing! Emile and I always hoped our kids would look like this, near twins. I always wanted to play a trick on you Gabriel, and switch the kids for a day. Oh, the things the two of you could have gotten away with.”
Feeling a little awkward, Adrien gave the teen in front of him a smile. “Hi, and you are?”
“I’m Felix.” His accented French made Adrien tempted to switch to English, but he didn’t want to assume.
“Oh, and I’m Amelie. Emilie was my big sister. Chloe, why don’t you introduce me to your other friends?”
Adrien glanced over Felix’s shoulder to see Lila glaring at him. She seemed madder than usual, like she actually wanted to hurt him. Eager to get out, Adrien handed the flowers to him.
“Sorry for your loss.”
Felix looked at the flowers before looking back at him. It was strange, seeing such a proper picture staring back at him. Mylene, while waiting for others to finish their video, had braided his bangs into his hair and the fishnet poking out from under his oversized shirt was a definite contrast to his slacks and waistcoat.
“I know you don’t mean my father but thank you regardless.” Felix said.
“Oh, I didn’t know. I won’t say ‘I’m sorry’ because I know every kid who lost a parent never wants to hear that. So instead, I’ll say…I hope the important memories never fade and if they do, you never lose the feelings you had during them.”
Felix looked surprised and Adrien realised he was hoping for a reaction. Just not the one he gave. He took the flowers and handed them to Nathalie, who looked pained as Chloe held court with Lila’s aunt.
“If you don’t mind, Mlle. Bourgeois, this is a family occasion.” Gabriel finally interrupted.
“That’s fine, we just wanted you to know we were thinking of you. oh, and Sabrina.” The red-haired girl took out the SD card that they downloaded their video onto and handed it to Lila. “Just so you know we care.”
Lila dropped the SD card and stomped on it a few times. Whether or not it broke it, Adrien wasn’t sure, but they all got the message. She stormed up the stairs, ignoring her aunt’s yelling to come back and apologize, which turned into a near fight between her and Gabriel about Lila’s behaviour. Adrien took one look at Felix, who’s face still held the same expression, but with a bit of sadness and spoke without thinking much.
“Hey, Felix. Is it your first time in Paris? We’re having a party at Luka’s houseboat; you should come with us.”
A small bit of relief appeared in the green eyes as he turned to his mother. “Can I?”
“I suppose. How about you meet me back here at 4 so we can say goodbye and go to the station together?”
And with that, they had a new addition.
                                                  _________________
“Whoa. It’s like a funhouse mirror.” Kim said, looking Felix up and down, who looked annoyed at being gawked at.
“Except I’m sure his temper is the same. Sure, you remember that part, huh Kim?” Adrien said, smiling when the athlete got red and turned back to the party. “Sorry about him.”
“You didn’t have to do this because you feel sorry for me.”
“I only feel sorry you would have had to spend the afternoon with Lila.” Adrien said, taking in the same surprised look Felix had before. “If I felt sorry for you because of your father, then I’d feel the same about a lot of my friends. Lot of single household kids here. Fair amount due to a parent passing away but they have their ways of remembering them and it’s a reminder to us to always remember the important feelings. now, you hungry? Kagami is getting off training soon and she’s bringing freshly made mochi. It’s really good.”
Felix stared at him, like he was trying to figure him out before he turned away. “Not particularly hungry, though I am thirsty.”
It took some time, but Felix started to open up. He was sarcastic and a bit rude but they were all used to it with Chloe. When Kim’s teasing went to far, Felix shut him down with a rather well-timed insult that had the whole group laughing as Kim went red and pouted. His social skills lacked some, which made him bond with Kagami when she finally arrived.
“If they say something pop culture related you don’t get, just nod. They usually figure out we have no clue what they mean and explain to not look stupid.” She advised.
“Thanks Kagami.” Adrien said sarcastically.
Somehow the topic turned to the thing majority of their class shared in common, single parent households. It was a healthy debate of what they felt they missed compared to their friends and classmates with two parents.
“Twice as much worrying? That baby akuma accidently smashed through my room and my dad freaked out. I was in the bathroom, which is the furthest from the skylight so I was fine. but Papa lost it, trying to break in and check on me. Which is fine, I get it. but after Scarlet Bug fixed everything, he came by to check if I was ok while Catseye went to go drop the baby off and my dad’s first reaction is that I’m dating Scarlet Bug! Do you have any idea how mortifying that is? The poor guy didn’t get a chance to explain before my dad tried inviting him to dinner with us.” Marinette went.
“Please, you think that’s bad? Reminder that my dad became akumatized to keep me from leaving.” Chloe threw in. “Your dad got akumatized because he thought you were dumped.”
“Seeing how my dad won’t even talk to me since I came out,” Marc said, “I wouldn’t be too mad about him getting akumatized because he didn’t want to see me hurt.”
“At least your mother wasn’t akumatized because she wants to control you.” Kagami said, taking a sip of tea.
“Or akumatized because she doesn’t enjoy being control.” Luka said.
Felix looked confused. “Is this what we do? Talk about being akumatized? Wait, have all of you been akumatized?”
“Pretty much. I think Marinette is the only person who hasn’t been akumatized. Just all her friends and family.” Nino said.
“Besides, we’ve realised that talking about what happened and remembering the emotions we felt is a reminder that it’s ok to feel that way. If Hawkmoth didn’t exist, we could feel that without consequences. Our reactions would be different. We have to remind ourselves that while we try to keep a check on our emotions to keep Hawkmoth from taking us over again, feeling what we felt is normal. And one day we can feel those emotions without worrying about the really bad consequences again.” Rose explained.
“I think there are some consequences you should still feel worried about.” Felix pointed out.
“So, what would be your trigger?” Markov asked, hovering over the mochi to keep Kim and Ivan from having too many.
“My trigger?”
“A lot of ours was Chloe. Chloe’s was Scarlet Bug believe it or not.” Alya said.
“Mine was a grown man who thought it was ok to threaten kids and act like a child. But got us a contract out of it.” Adrien said. “It doesn’t have to be anything big.”
Felix’s gaze went to his cup, clanging his ring against the ceramic. “My dad. But not his passing. It could have been, he died in an accident but that would have been my mom’s. she lost her sister and the love of her life within a month of each other. My trigger would have been my uncle not showing his face at the funeral, but expecting us to come to his house to mourn his wife. I loved my aunt, but why should my father’s passing be brushed off? I can’t talk about it with my mother and I don’t make friends easy. Most just want something because our family is rich, but I wanted to mourn and because of my uncle I can’t. he doesn’t even seem to understand why my mother wants the rings back.”
“Rings?” Adrien asked.
Felix messed with the ring on his finger. “because my aunt was older, she got the family rings. Used to be told stories about how they had special powers and for a kid who grew up with his father telling him about fae and calling his wife Titania the fairy queen, I liked those stories. After my aunt disappeared, my mom wanted a piece of her back and that piece was the ring. They used them as their wedding rings and he doesn’t seem to get why my mom wants them back. He’s mourned her by hiding away. My mother’s hid her mourning to take care of the company and me. She deserves that much.”
Adrien looked at the ring, as Felix continued to mess with it. it was slightly big, a bit faded but Felix handled it like it was the most important thing in the world. Probably because it belonged it to his father. The ring could have gone to Amelie but instead Felix had it, to remember his father because she had him. and all she wanted was a way to remember her sister. He got why Gabriel wanted to keep the ring if it was his only link to his wife, but he wasn’t the only one who lost her.
“I think you should steal it.” Kagami said. “he lives inside his home, rarely coming out. I’m sure he has other ways of remembering her. The rings don’t belong to him, they did to her and now to your mother. But if you want to avoid getting in trouble, maybe convince your mom to have him sit down and explain her side. Guilt could probably work too if she adds how she can’t grieve her family with nothing to hold onto.” The whole group stared at her. “What?”
“You, are a terrifying person. Look, the point is, you have every right to feel the way you do. Tell that to your mom so she can take care of it. and if that doesn’t work, maybe steal the ring, but only if you feel like he’s saying no to be an ass.” Adrien explained.
“So, steal as last resort?”
“The guy is friends with the mayor of Paris. Try not to get banned before we can hang out again?”
“Again?”
“Well yeah. We’re friends now, you’re stuck with us.”
Felix took in the mix of faces, all – including Chloe – giving him looks that all said they were telling the truth. His usual personality turned people away, but these people were fine with it. he looked at Adrien, a wilder copy of himself and realised his original plan to be an ass wasn’t going to work. They were too stubborn and honestly, it was just easier to give in.
Later on, the train, he watched his mother smile softly down at the ring in hand.
“I have to say, I’m surprised Gabriel was moved enough to give me the ring. I’m sorry I had to use your father as an in.”
“It’s fine. I’m just glad you have it now. Besides, it wasn’t mainly my idea. Got it from a friend.”
“A friend?” she asked with a smile on her face.
Looking at his reflection, he spun his father’s ring on his finger. “Yeah. My first actually.”

LBSC Secret Admirer Exchange 2023 - Figured it Out (Finally!)
I wrote this fic for @lovebugs-and-snakecharmers ‘ Secret Admirer Event 2023 for @alwaysawkwardd!
I hope you enjoy it!
Figured it Out (Finally!)
Link for AO3^
Rating: E Word Count: 5,300
It all started with a kiss during a drinking game.
The friend group had gathered on the boat as it was Juleka’s - who still lived there - turn to host the bi-monthly slumber party and the drinks were already flowing.
Adrien had already taken off his shirt.
Alix was challenging anyone who crossed her path to an arm wrestling contest.
Max was keeping Kim from jumping into the Seine for a late night swim.
Chloe was flirting - badly - with Sabrina and Rose, which had the small blonde and her girlfriend laughing.
Nathaniel and Marc were making out in a corner.
Alya was getting extremely touchy with a zoned out, vibing Nino.
Marinette was stumbling over her words as she told a pretty raunchy story - something about walking in on her parents in the bakery one night - with the pinkest flush to her cheeks.
And Luka… Luka was staring at those pink cheeks in awe.
How were they so… pink and soft looking? How was she so adorably cute when she was this drunk? Honestly she was always cute.
How was that possible?
“Hear ye, hear me you drunk fucks!” Juleka shouted, gaining the attention of the drunk twenty-somethings. Luka bit back laughter as the boat instantly quieted. A drunk Juleka was a loud and rowdy Juleka and, after countless parties and sleepovers, everyone knew to listen when she spoke.
It was awesome and funny and he wanted Juleka to be like this all the time.
Just like he wanted Marinette to be pink and adorable all the time… although that part was probably just the loads of alcohol in Luka’s system talking.
“It’s time to play Truth or Dare! Spin the bottle and whoever it lands on has to answer a question truthfully or complete a dare! Got it? Good! Every get in the fucking circle now!”
There were no arguments as all gathered and sat in the set up chairs. The rule for playing was that the host went first, so Juleka leaned forward and spun the bottle. Drunk and tipsy eyes followed the circular motion of the spin until it slowed and pointed at Rose.
Juleka grinned evilly before leaning into her girlfriend and whispering something in her ear that had the smaller woman giggling and nodding.
“Accepted!”
With a kiss, Rose flounced over to Chloe and perched on the blond’s lap before leaning into her and whispering in her ear. Whatever Rose said had Chloe’s head nodding so fast that Luka worried she would fall over. Rose giggled before bending to spin the bottle and settling completely onto Chloe’s lap.
Luka was extremely curious about what Jules had dared Rose to do. As he was seated next to his sister, he was tempted to ask but his attention was immediately drawn to the middle of the circle as it slowed and pointed at Marinette.
Rose squealed and bounced on Chloe’s lap, causing the blonde to flush further. “This is perfect! Truth or Dare, Mari!”
Marinette grinned. “Dare!”
Rose lifted an eyebrow. “Feeling brave are we? Then I dare you to kiss Luka on the mouth like you mean it.”
Luka rolled his eyes.
For the longest time, Rose and Juleka had been trying to set the two of them up and, for the same amount of time, Luka kept reminding them that he and Marinette were friends and nothing but friends. Neither of them saw each other in a romantic way, especially after trying to date years ago and it not working out. Luka like Marinette, he truly did, but the past was the past and they were in a good space now.
“Rose-”
“Fine.” Marinette surprised him by saying, standing, and then moving across the room towards him with a big smile on her face.
Luka felt his breath leave him. Marinette was about to kiss him and he was honestly thrilled at the thought - despite his thoughts from seconds ago. But not because he liked her or anything. No. It was just that the act of kissing was so intimate and to be able to share it with someone he cared for was an amazing opportunity. That’s why he was so amped for the kiss, not because it was Marinette who was kissing…
Even though, yes, Marinette was the most beautiful girl in any room she walked into.
Yes, seeing her smile at him made Luka’s heart speed in his chest.
Yes , the thought of kissing her specifically made him super excited.
But, but, but they were just friends and Luka would have - probably - been excited or happy to kiss any of his friends, so it didn’t mean anything that he was wanting to kiss her.
Luka was brought out of his thoughts as a shadow fell over him.
Looking up, he met the sight of a grinning Marinette. “Hi.”
“Hi.”
She motioned toward his lap. “May I?”
“Y-Yes!”
Then Luka had to take a huge gulp of air as Marinette straddled him in his chair. Legs around his waist and fingers weaving into his hair, Marinette made her intentions clear despite Luka hearing the dare. “Ready?”
“Ready.”
They’d kissed once as young teenagers exploring the world of dating for the first time and Luka had thought this kiss would be a lot like that one: sweet, awkward, and hesitant.
He couldn’t have been more wrong.

Dame Violette, Chapter One - Origins
Sitting at the back came naturally to us; I didn't like being bothered with anything, Juleka didn't like being noticed, and Sabrina could observe. She was the only one who kept tabs with the rest of the class, which suited us just fine: everyone knew that if they wanted access, Sabrina was who to talk with first. This did however come with a label, as we found out last year when everyone started to call us the “Goth Musketeers”.
Those words pleased Juleka to no end, but I wasn't sure if the label was the right fit for me. It seemed as though I leaned more towards punk, as did Luka. But sitting at my desk in black tights, jean shorts, a dark red t-shirt and a leather jacket, which Juleka gave me when she outgrew it, I figured that the label could apply to us all in one way or another. Sabrina was sitting next to me in black leggings, a blue and purple plaid skirt, and a white button down blouse covered by a black sweater; sitting prominently on her shirt was a black bow with streaks of purple, pink, and orange in it that I made for her last birthday. Juleka sat across from us in the next row in her usual black dress, but had decided to go with fishnet stockings for the first day back, not to mention her makeup gave off impressive “leave me alone” vibes.
Yeah, I guess we are the goth kids.
“So, I wonder who else we'll get this year.”
I turned my attention to Sabrina, who was staring down at the empty desks. We were the first to arrive as always, something which I was particularly prideful about as I hated getting into class late. All of that attention just because I couldn't set an alarm? Sabrina and Juleka were always up early and walking to school together ensured no one was left behind.
“There's going to be new faces. Didn't you say something about the mayor's daughter, and a model?”
“The mayor's daughter is named Chloe, and he's doing it as some kind of “Common Touch” thing. There was a rumour that she'd refuse come to a “normal” school if her friend the model wasn't involved, but-”
“Who's the model?” spoke up Juleka, as she peered over in our direction. Looking through her bag, Sabrina took out a faded fashion magazine and pointed the front page.
“Adrien Agreste.”
I looked at the cover, as did Juleka. He was dressed in pure white and seemed to be in some kind of angelic pose. It wasn't to my tastes but he seemed harmless enough. “This is supposed to be some guy to rave over? He looks like he'd cry if he stepped on a bug.” A giggle came out at Juleka's response, but it did seem he was a “safe” choice for someone's celebrity crush. Juleka knew more about that world than I did, she was starting to model for alt brands in her spare time. Judging by the look of disgust on her face, she probably wouldn't be gracing magazine covers with this Adrien any time soon.
At this point we saw two familiar faces enter the room, Max and Nino. Both were in our class last year. Nino waved to us before Max took a spot in one of the front desks, while Nino sat behind. From what I remember, they weren't necessarily friends but lived close to one another. Max, I knew, was for sure afraid of all three of us due to the class photograph incident last year where he had put his hand up in front of Juleka's face, of which we then made a show of jokingly putting a hex on him afterwards. Nino was alright though, and his DJ mixes were starting to really take form.
“There's two people we know.” noted Sabrina.
“Neither of which is brave enough to sit up here.” I didn't think anyone would join our row, but instead sit in front of us. “At least we don't have to switch. Could you imagine doing that every year? All that would do is make people uncomfortable.” Sabrina cast an understanding glance our way. We were always ensuring each one of us felt safe in anything we did, including in the classroom. Seating choices was a part of that.
“Well, this row is of course exclusive. Not everyone gets in.” Smirking at Juleka's comment, I decided to be productive while waiting for the school day to start. She had asked me a little while ago if I had any possible designs for a band her and Luka were trying to start up, and every so often something sparked in my mind for it. The idea was rough, but based around masks and “hidden” identities. Opening up my sketch book, I then heard Sabrina speak out happily.
“Oh! Rose is here! She must be getting better!”
Peering up from my sketch book, I smiled seeing Rose as well. Her hair was shorter but that must have been a side effect of whatever treatment she was on. Rose was in our first year at Collège Françoise Dupont and came close to being friends with Sabrina and I, but was out of class often and didn't come to school at all last year; we later found out that she was fighting a rare form of cancer and her parents were being protective. But her being here, now, I suppose meant she had beaten it down, not to mention she must have kept up in school work during all that time. She waved up to us and then came up the stairs to sit at the desk in front of Juleka, who seemed very curious about her.
More students came. A girl with pink hair, who sat in front of Sabrina. Another girl with rainbow dreadlocks, who took another front row seat. A large, towering boy with crossbones on his shirt took up a spot further down.
Kim then came in, with Nathaniel not far behind. Both boys we knew, in fact Kim I had known since childhood as he was in my first school before my parents moved the bakery. Since then he's just grown, and grown, and grown, but not exactly in maturity. Nathaniel I knew would sit in front of us, probably next to this pink haired girl. He was an artist but mostly kept to himself, though last year he had wanted to try and collaborate with me a few times. We could never agree on a common subject, which was a shame.
Miss Bustier herself then walked in, with three students in tow behind. I already knew one of them as Adrien, and one had to be Chloe, but upon making brief eye contact with the third, a vision came to me.
-
Sharing macarons with her on the first day. Her pushing to try and force me to get with a crush. Her just being pushy in general. Her donning a necklace with a pendent in the shape of a Fox. Her not being able to keep a secret leading to a discovery leading to- - “Nettie, you okay? You spaced out for a full minute.”
Sabrina had her arm extended out to my shoulder in concern, and Juleka was also looking over with worry. “Just a small...shock. It's nothing to worry about.” That did seem to calm them down but I knew they hadn't really seen me go like that in public too much. Maybe it would be better to try and avoid eye contact with these three new kids for a while.
“Did I miss anything?”
“Yes, just Miss Bustier introducing the new students. Alya Cesaire, Adrien, and...Chloe Bourgeois.” Sabrina couldn't hide the disgust in her voice saying that last name, and I looked at her with a curious expression. “Chloe, it turns out, is the girl from Friendship Day a few years ago. The one who bullied me around all day.”
My eyebrows raised in surprise. “Oh right, you never did find out her name.”
“She said unremarkable people didn't have to know her name. Luckily I don't think she remembers me but the moment she opened her mouth, I knew it was her.”
I stared down at the front of the class. Adrien and Chloe were sitting together, while Alya was beside the girl who had the rainbow hair. If anything, there was a strong possibility we'd never have to interact with any of them, aside from a group project maybe here and there. It was the same the last few years, everyone in smaller groups rather than big ones.
“At least you don't have to sit next to her. Even if she did remember you, who would ever mess with us three?”
Sabrina brightened up hearing that from Juleka, as did I. Indeed, with the three of us together, nothing could mess up this final year. Miss Bustier then closed the door to the class and turned her attention towards us. I suppose this meant we were now full.
“Alright students! Let's get started.”
-
It was, all in all, a very uneventful day. There was a brief incident where Kim tried to rile up another student about their crush on a classmate from when they were in a previous year together, but it was handled pretty deftly and with Kim having to apologize to who I found out later was Ivan and Mylene. It was hard to keep track of the names but luckily Sabrina was a sink for remembering such things. Leaving for the day also had some new challenges as it seemed so many in the school came out to ask for the autograph or just to see this Adrien kid and the spectacle that caused at the front of the building was more than enough for me to pull Sabrina and Juleka out the back door of the school and on to a side street where we'd get past it all. Maybe that's why he had been homeschooled for so long, because his parents knew that this sort of thing would happen.
But none of that was my concern. It was easier to not be involved with the lifestyles of the rich and famous. At some point things can calm down when other students hopefully see he's just as human as the rest of them
Homework was usually done between all three of us, that way we could compare notes and if one of us got stuck, usually an answer could be found putting our heads together. It also helped to get over different obstacles, like my weakness with History, or Sabrina's with Chemistry, and Juleka's with Math. We each did our own work and helped to get one another through a block if it came up. I think our system is what allowed us to keep such high grades these past few years. Part of this also involved trading off where we studied; one week in my room, next at Sabrina's, the next at Juleka's.
Which is how we ended up in my room, with me on my bed with Sabrina and Juleka laying against it.
“So, I couldn't help but notice that you were rather interested in Rose earlier, Jules.”
Juleka didn't respond right away but the light pinkness crossing her face told more than enough. It was no secret to any of us that our friend had a preference for girls; considering that Sabrina was bi and my own demi-ace status we had more than our fair share of the rainbow in our little group.
“She's not afraid of us. And her voice is hardcore, maybe she'd like to try for our band when we're ready.”
“A lot of the sketches I did earlier today look promising!” While there was no set deadline for them to get started, I knew Juleka and Luka wanted to get going with the band project sooner rather than later. Pulling them out of my book, I gave them over to Juleka who hummed with approval. “These are all awesome, Nettie.”
Sabrina peered over and nodded towards me in agreement, before quizzically pointing to a design in the lower left corner. “What's with the butterfly thing?”
“Oh! That's a sketch of this, I found it this morning on the way to school, that's what I picked up out of the puddle.” It had been on my mind on and off all day, the Butterfly broach, but I didn't want to take it out of my pocket for fear of losing it again. Pulling it out in front of Sabrina and Juleka, both of them stared down in wonder.
“Looks expensive.”
“And ancient. I'll bet the Captain might know more if we showed it to her.”
Getting up off my bed, I made my way over to a mirror hanging off the back of my bedroom door. Looking down at the broach, I delicately fastened it to the front of my shirt, giving a slight laugh at the contrast of what seemed to be such a valuable piece of jewellery against a red t-shirt that had a few holes in it.
But then, the world shook. It was just a momentary thing, but the floor seemed to shake and everything in my room shifted a little bit. A purple wave of energy leapt forward out of the brooch, and materialized in front of us as a strange mixture of a butterfly and a bird. It wasn't an animal I had ever seen before, and judging from the looks on Sabrina and Juleka neither had they.
It took a moment for the creature to open up its eyes, grimacing as it did so until seeing my face, at which point it broke out into a joyous smile. Floating over towards my face, it bowed and extended out a hand.
“Salutations! You must have found the broach, and therefore are my new holder! How exiting, my name is Nooroo, and may I please ask your name so that we may get better acquainted?”
I stared at the creature...or Nooroo? I stared at Nooroo in the eyes. No vision or shock was coming. My own eyes darted back and forth behind him to Sabrina and Juleka. With a silent and worried nod, Sabrina was basically confirming that what I was seeing in front of me was for sure not some kind of illusion. Juleka, however, had a more mischievous expression.
"Awesome. A floating giant bug mouse butterfly, it's rad."
I wasn't sure what to think. Except that I wanted to know more. Instead of my full hand, I held out a few of my fingers towards Nooroo, who put both of his hands around them to shake back.
“Hello...Nooroo. My name is Marinette.”

High Priest Pt. 8
From “The Many Akumatizations of Luka Couffaine”.
AO3
Adrien wasn’t bitter about Harmonia.
He might have been, if she knew Ladybug’s identity, or if Ladybug had given the girl her miraculous directly, or if Master Fu had chosen her to replace Ladybug. But it was clear, from the situation and the akuma, that Ladybug hadn’t chosen Harmonia, that she was just a civilian who got caught up in this that Ladybug’s kwami chose.
That didn’t mean he liked her though.
She fought well. It wasn’t the easy back and forth that he and Ladybug had, but it was enough. And she didn’t get knocked out of the fight or brainwashed, which was better than his track record for those types of akumas.
But there was something about her that was off. It wasn’t until they’d managed to beat off the High Priest and Sabrina long enough to run after his classmates did he realize…
She didn’t particularly like his class.
“Why are you all still together?” Harmonia asked, glaring at the out of breath students. They’d found another room to hide in, an indoor garden. There were red rose bushes and red tulips everywhere, and fully grown wisteria trees that canopied the roof. Chat would have found it relaxing if it weren’t for the ten meter high, marble statue of Marinette, sleeping with her arms crossed over her chest, reminding Chat of the predicament his good friend was in. Trapped in a coma and obsessed over by an enraged boyfriend… his friend Juleka’s brother.
“You should have separated,” Harmonia continued. “Staying together only makes you a bigger target!”
“Oh, no, we’re not splitting up!” Alya said, standing up for them. Dried tears were still clearly visible on her face. “We’re stronger together as a group! Besides, if we split up, that gives Luka a bigger chance to pressure us into joining his cult like Sabrina.”
“Juleka probably already joined him…” Lila simpered, making herself look meek and devastated. Chat knew she was putting on an act, but there was no way to point that out to the others. “She’s really close to her brother, right? And she already doesn’t like me…”
Anger crossed Harmonia’s face, but it was Rose that spoke. “You’re wrong!” She blinked in surprise, as if she hadn’t intended to speak, then strunk under everyone’s stare. “Juleka would never work for an akuma, even if it's Luka.”
“Good for her, but that doesn’t mean everyone else feels the same.”
Alya’s jaw dropped. “Alix?”
Alix leaned against one of the trees, crossing her arms and glaring at Lila. “What? Don’t act like you haven’t been paying attention. The High Priest, Luka, hates Lila’s guts and blames her for Marinette being hurt.”
Lila was visibly sweating. “That’s because Marinette–”
“Marinette has been in a coma this entire time, so she hasn’t told him anything,” Alix pointed out.
“She must have poisoned him against me before she tripped, then!”
“Except for the fact that she didn’t trip.” The class was silent, and Alix snorted. “Come on, we’re all thinking it. We were all there; she was trying to run away from us when she went down that stairs.” She looked at the ground, kicking a stray chunk of grass. “We’re responsible for her coma, even if someone didn’t push her. But, for the record? I definitely think it was you, Lila. And if I learn, for a fact, that you’ve hurt my friend, I’m joining the akuma and handing you over to him, no questions asked.”
Lila teared up. “Alix, I–”
“That’s enough,” Chat said, finally stepping in. He frowned at Alix. “You shouldn’t say things in the heat of the moment that you’ll regret later. I know we’re all stressed, but don’t worry. No one else is going to join the High Priest; I’ll defeat him before he can hurt you all again.”
“But… Alix does make a good point,” Harmonia said. Chat whirled on her. What? She wanted to hurt a civilian!? “Not about joining the akuma or anything, but… if we could use the person who hurt Marinette as bait for the High Priest. Or, someone he thinks was the one who hurt Marinette.”
Chat’s jaw dropped. He couldn’t keep the disgust out of his voice. “You want to use a civilian as bait!?”

Who wants more sad statistics~?
Because say hello to the color-coded guide to Marinette blame/mistakes! Obviously there’s some room for debate (even I struggled with how to color an episode from time to time), but it should be mostly accurate.
Blue = "Marinette wasn't really blamed for anything notable and didn't really suffer from Adrien" Cyan = "Marinette was blamed for something unrelated to Adrien that she didn't do/she shouldn't be made to feel bad for" (this one is probably the most subjective) Green = "Marinette was blamed/made a mistake but it had nothing to do with Adrien" Yellow = "Marinette doesn't technically make a mistake or get blamed, but is negatively impacted by her crush on/relationship to Adrien" Red = "Marinette either was blamed for/made a mistake that related to Adrien."
"Negatively impacted by her crush on Adrien" could mean generally anything, but it leans towards Marinette embarrassing herself in front of Adrien, characters making snippy/unnecessary comments about her crush, and things that wouldn't have happened if her Adrien crush didn't exist. In the case that Marinette makes a mistake/is improperly blamed for something not about Adrien (cyan/green) but also is negatively impacted by her relationship to him (yellow), whatever is given more attention will take priority. There could've easily been a lot of cyan+red episodes had I allowed myself to use two colors.
Now look at all that red, which is easily the most frequent color, and then try and tell me that Marinette's crush isn't just a tool to humiliate her and force her to make mistakes in order to fit the "Marinette makes a mistake" quota.
I've put the explanations below on my decisions for each episode, as well as the tally for everything together:
Season 1
"Stormy Weather" (red) - Marinette blames herself for leaving Manon, and they're only at the park in the first place because of her Adrien crush.
"The Bubbler" (red) - Marinette uses Lucky Charm explicitly to stop Chloe and Adrien from dancing together.
"The Pharoah" (green) - Ladybug drops her schoolbook; relatively minor in the grand scheme of things, but seems to be why the show forces Marinette to awkwardly try to keep Alya in the museum instead of just having Tikki directly point out where to go.
"Lady Wifi" (green) - Marinette overslept while doing homework and was late for class
"Timebreaker" (cyan) - Marinette is blamed for not being home to give the cake to Nadja... who came early and thus Marinette shouldn't have been expected to expect her
"Mr. Pigeon" (yellow) - Marinette embarrasses herself in front of Adrien, with Alya making faces at her all the while
"The Evillustrator" (cyan) - Marinette is blamed for ditching Sabrina when she has an akuma to worry about, accused of "being like Chloe" (i.e: the person who Sabrina immediately goes back to anyway)
"Rogercop" (red) - Marinette, after being accused, states that everyone has the potential to be guilty, but sidesteps Adrien when someone suggests it
"Copycat" (red) - Marinette, panicked by an embarrassing confession she left on Adrien's phone (thanks to Alya), steals it to delete the message (also thanks to Alya)
"Dark Cupid" (red) - Marinette forgets to sign the love letter addressed to Adrien, which Alya laughs at her for
"Horrificator" (red) - Marinette is pressured/convinced to play Mylene's role instead when Alya throws out that she'd be kissing Adrien
"Darkblade" (cyan) - Marinette doesn't want to run for class representative because she already has enough on her plate (...what a monster?); both Alya and Alix make snarky comments at her for this
"The Mime" (green) - Marinette deletes a video on Alya phone and spends the rest of the episode trying to recreate it
"Kung Food" (cyan) - Marinette blames herself for defending her great uncle and insulting Chloe (again... what a monster?), which leads to Chloe sabotaging Wang's cooking
"Gamer" (red) - Marinette enters the gaming competition solely for Adrien
"Animan" (yellow) - Marinette offers to get Nino a date with Alya, an event that wouldn't have taken place if not for Marinette's crush (either there wouldn't have been a zoo trip at all or Alya wouldn't have been there); in addition, Alya tells Nino about Marinette's Adrien crush, which Marinette is distraught by
"Antibug" (cyan) - Ladybug is blamed for "not accepting help from others" (except she did at the beginning of the episode) and not listening to Chloe (who is a habitual liar)
"The Puppeteer" (green) - Marinette folds to Manon's "baby doll eyes" and gives her something that Nadja insisted she not have
"Reflekta" (green) - Marinette tries to steal Guiseppe's SD camera card so Juleka's picture will need retaken
"Pixelator" (red) - Marinette shirks her job as Jagged's gopher in order to get back to Adrien as soon as possible
"Guitar Villain" (blue) - Not much happens, just cool Marinette stuff; there are technically scenes of Marinette embarrassing herself around Adrien, but either no one else was there to witness it or there wasn't any significant reaction to it
"Princess Fragrance" (red) - Alya forces Marinette to go talk to Adrien, which results in Marinette tripping and losing Tikki
"Simon Says" (cyan) - Marinette... I guess is at fault for struggling to keep up with schoolwork and hero duties? That's what you get for wanting to help people, Ladybug
"Volpina" (red) - Marinette is mocked for being jealous, her following Adrien is presented as her doing it jealously (she literally says that she's going to warn Adrien about Lila stealing the book from him before Tikki stops her, but okay), and she yells at Lila as Ladybug, which is also presented as being "only about Adrien."
"Origins - Part 1 (Ladybug & Cat Noir)" (green) - Ladybug neglects to capture the akuma, having forgotten that detail
"Origins - Part 2 (Stoneheart)" (green) - The mistake from Part 1 carries over... the episode also may or may not blame Marinette for encouraging Ivan.
blue - 1 cyan - 6 green - 7 yellow - 2 red - 10
Season 2
"A Christmas Special" (red) - Marinette's "Adrien blindness" causes her to jump to conclusions and believe that a Santa Claus lookalike is an akuma
"The Collector" (red) - Marinette lies to Master Fu in order to protect Adrien, not able to believe that Adrien could be Hawk Moth
"Despair Bear" (red) - Marinette goes to Chloe's party for Adrien and is repeatedly mocked/teased for this
"Prime Queen" (cyan) - Ladybug "makes a mistake" in getting upset at Nadja for trying to pry into her romantic relationships and her potential romance with Chat Noir
"Befana" (cyan) - Marinette is blamed for "lying" to her grandmother about going to a birthday party with her friends (she didn't) and "not wanting to spend time with her" (she did, Gina is the one who neglected Marinette for literal years)
"Riposte" (cyan) - One of the more subjective ones, but going frame-by-frame, Adrien's saber bends first yet the episode calls Marinette "flustered" and "new to fencing" to say that she's wrong in her choice
"Robostus" (blue) - Mostly free of crush and mistakes, episode focuses primarily on the main plot of the akuma being caused (if I had a color for Marinette just normally being mocked/embarrassed though, it'd be here)
"Gigantitan" (red) - Needs no explanation: Marinette is embarrassed in front of the girls multiple times and the entire subplot causes the akuma that almost hits Gorilla
"The Dark Owl" (green) - Ladybug orchestrates a situation in which the Dark Owl could save her so as to not hurt his feelings, which ends in him being found out, humiliated, and akumatized
"Glaciator" (red) - Marinette is upset because Adrien didn't show up to get ice cream with her, which leads to her blowing up on Andre
"Sapotis" (blue) - Marinette goes largely blameless for everything; not much here
"Gorizilla" (yellow) - Multiple "jokes"/"mocking" about Marinette revealing skin/being in her pajamas in front of Adrien
"Captain Hardrock" (blue) - Surprisingly void of blame on Marinette despite her being depressed over Adrien; if anything, Luka apologizes for making a teasing comment when she was upset
"Zombizou" (cyan) - Marinette is blamed for being upset with Chloe for ruining her gift for Miss Bustier
"Syren" (cyan) - Ladybug is blamed for keeping secrets from Chat Noir (look at the Adrien stans for reference)
"Frightningale" (red) - Marinette is bothered by Chloe being Ladybug, but Adrien is involved so the fandom can easily put blame on her concerning her Adrien crush (see Marinette salters for reference)
"Troublemaker" (red) - Marinette's Adrien pictures are intentionally inflated/exaggerated to humiliate her more
"Anansi" (green) - I wouldn't argue if someone suggested that this is a cyan: Marinette "makes a mistake" in cheating Nora's arm-wrestle with Nino since Nora was being unreasonable
"Sandboy" (green) - Marinette agrees with Tikki that they should do something to help Nooroo without asking Fu
"Reverser" (cyan) - Marinette peeks at Marc's work and tries to help him work with Nathaniel (I see, so when Alya meddles to push Marinette past her comfort zone, it's fine, but--); she also embarrasses herself in front of Adrien over this
"Frozer" (red) - Marinette suffers because Adrien's an idiot and has tons of people in relationships to ask advice from, and he chooses to ask Marinette; Marinette appears to be "blamed" for either wanting to move on (due to the girls fighting) or agreeing to go with Adrien, along with a "bonus" (almost earning a cyan) due to Chat throwing a hissy fit over her rejecting him
"Style Queen" (cyan) - Marinette is blamed for thinking that the magic ladybugs would bring the miraculous back to Fu (see "Sentibubbler" covering for Chat for reference on how the narrative sees this)
"Queen Wasp" (cyan) - Carried over from "Style Queen"; Ladybug is blamed for losing the miraculous
"Malediktator" (red) - Marinette is made to feel bad for being glad that her bully of many years is gone (almost earning a cyan here, or even a yellow), and this is all due to Adrien; he also unintentionally convinces her to give Chloe a miraculous (her "mistake" according to future episodes), which sets off a slew of events that makes her suffer
"Catalyst" (cyan) - Alya not believing Marinette due to her Adrien crush carries over from "Volpina," almost earning this a red, but Marinette also lies about her gift for Heroes' Day. However, the fact that she is completely sleep-deprived from the night before and was being made fun of for only bringing macarons is largely ignored by the narrative and treated too much as her fault
"Mayura" (red) - When going to correct her mistake from last episode, Adrien throwing a pity party for himself makes Marinette go back on it
blue - 3 cyan - 9 green - 3 yellow - 1 red - 10
Season 3
"Backwarder" (red) - Marinette gives Adrien the wrong letter (due to each slip of paper she has conveniently looking the exact same but the episode clearly indicates it to be her fault); she's also humiliated over this
"Weredad" (cyan) - Marinette lies to Chat Noir in a panic to protect her identity. The fact that Chat Noir is an idiot who wonders why Marinette might be on her own darn balcony and that Tikki doesn't offer a better solution for the situation is given no attention
"Chameleon" (red) - Alya believing that Marinette is only upset with Lila over Adrien presumably carries over from "Volpina" and "Catalyst;" Marinette's relationship with Adrien also seems to make her more inclined to believe in what he says about doing nothing about Lila
"Animaestro" (red) - No explanation needed; Marinette's Adrien crush makes her more inclined to believe Chloe (remember "Malediktator" and "Zombizou"?) when Chloe claims that Kagami stole her seat next to Adrien, which convinces Marinette to team up with Chloe against Kagami, and this leads to Marinette being embarrassed over her crush
"Bakerix" (green) - Marinette makes a mistake in... I guess riling up her grandfather? (this one's pretty subjective and I wouldn't argue with anyone who says this should be cyan)
"Silencer" (blue) - Regardless of what "Crocoduel" says, Marinette isn't blamed in this episode for challenging Bob Roth
"Oblivio" (cyan) - Marinette seems to weirdly be blamed/punished for getting upset with Chat Noir if the smugness of Chat+Alya about the taken picture is to be believed (perhaps """explained""" in "Reflekdoll" about Chat having his role to play as the "sense of humor")
"Stormy Weather 2" (yellow) - Marinette spends a portion of the episode sulking about the little progress she's made with Adrien
"Reflekdoll" (red) - Needs no explanation: Marinette's anxiety is caused by Adrien and she's blamed for it despite Alya orchestrating everything
"Oni-Chan" (red) - Marinette chases after Adrien and Lila, which is made to be completely about Marinette's crush on Adrien despite Marinette telling Tikki about her actual concerns (which end up coming true as Kagami gets akumatized)
"Miraculer" (cyan) - Chat gets snippy with Ladybug for not telling Chloe right away (apparently assuming that Ladybug doesn't have other obligations to attend to like school; she even tells Chat that she "wouldn't have time that day"), and Ladybug was literally about to before the sentimonster and Miraculer show up
"The Puppeteer 2" (red) - Marinette repeatedly pushed and punished for liking Adrien, then punished again in front of Adrien (who she thinks is a statue) when she was actually just taking the advice that Tikki gave her
"Desperada" (red) - The guitar scene (i.e: "huh, who would've known that my wingwoman for Adrien was actually trying to wingwoman me with Luka one time!"), Aspik (i.e: "wow, the guy who I thought was perfect because that's what the narrative is always telling me actually doesn't fit what the narrative was telling me!"), and that's all I need to say
"Startrain" (blue) - Mostly mistakeless on Marinette's end; the focus is on other characters/plots (again, if I had a color for Marinette being mocked/embarrassed though, it'd also go here)
"Kwamibuster" (blue) - Marinette isn't blamed for anything; even though Master Fu isn't aware of the events at first, Tikki apologizes to Marinette in front of him later
"Feast" (yellow) - Marinette is briefly distracted by Adrien until Alya chides her so that she can show Marinette the information she might as well have hand-delivered to Hawk Moth
"Ikari Gozen" (red) - Marinette tries to sabotage her and Kagami to prevent Kagami from meeting up with Adrien
"Timetagger" (cyan) - Tikki notes Marinette's bad excuses (which are due to the sheer amount of akuma) to the point where Alya had replaced her as babysitter before Marinette explained that she couldn't show up (I wouldn't argue with anyone who said this should be blue instead)
"Party Crasher" (red) - Marinette tries to crash the secret boys-only party in order to spend time with Adrien
"Gamer 2.0" (cyan) - Marinette+Ladybug is blamed for being upset that they have no time for anything, with Ladybug in particular "making the mistake" of taking over and failing due to Chat constantly goofing off despite her urging
"Chat Blanc" (red) - Marinette is pressured/threatened by the girl squad (specifically Rose) enough that she decides to sneak into Adrien's house
"Felix" (yellow) - Marinette, after "finally" confessing to Adrien (for like--the fourth time), ends up running off and rambling in front of Luka (not knowing that he's there), which embarrasses her
"Ladybug" (red) - Alya's doubts of Marinette's hatred of Lila (implied in "Volpina" and stated in "Catalyst" to be about her crush on Adrien) carries over as Alya chides Marinette for blaming Lila, and had Marinette not listened to Adrien in "Chameleon," Lila may have been stopped early on and she wouldn't have gotten expelled (otherwise, the episode would've gotten a "cyan" because how dare Marinette be emotional at being accused of cheating and get angry at Lila)
"Christmaster" (red) - Marinette lies to Chris (in the exact way that Alya does to Manon in "Stormy Weather" but sure) in order to protect her darn privacy so Chris doesn't find out about her chest full of Adrien gifts, which leads to Chris getting akumatized
"Heart Hunter" (red) - Ladybug neglects to detransform due to being distracted by Adrimi happening, which leads to long-lasting and overly harsh consequences
"Miracle Queen" (red) - Ladybug's mistake carries over from the previous episode
blue - 3 cyan - 5 green - 1 yellow - 3 red - 14
Total: blue - 7 cyan - 20 green - 11 yellow - 6 red - 34

Marinette’s Special guest
Marinette still smiled brilliantly. She hadn’t lost her excited energy since she walked into the class that morning and wouldn’t tell anyone what was going on. She just said it was a surprise. And all her friends in the class knew that there was nothing like a Marinette surprise. And Marinette was practically vibrating in her seat, so it had to be a good one, right?
Alya spent most of the morning poking and prodding her bestie for the scoop. Kim promised Marinette unlimited piggyback rides if only told him. (Something to lord over Alix’s head.) Max offered to update her website design. Everyone offered different bribes to Marinette just so the Bluenette would let them in on the secret. But she wouldn’t budge, not even Adrien giving her his most charming smile and big puppy dog eyes affected her. Or Bustier trying to force the Bluenette to be a better role model by not keeping secrets. She had barely been able to maintain control of the class since the day began, and Marinette came, not that she had much success most other days.
Lila raged inwardly at the attention the brat was getting. No matter what she did, loudly whimpering over the sprain in her wrist, or how many tales she told about the many celebrities she knew, it would garner the class’s attention for a few minutes before their focus would be back on Marinette. It wasn’t fair.
The lunch came and went. The kids came back to class enthusiastically, thinking of what surprise Marinette could have for them. Then they noticed that their favorite Bluenette, their everyday Ladybug had yet to arrive. She wasn’t just a few minutes late after the bell. But nearly an hour. Alya pulled out her phone, pointedly ignoring Bustier, who meekly asked her to put it away, and called her best friend. “GIRL, where are you? What do you mean you got an excuse? Is this about the surprise? Seriously?” The class listened eagerly. “Wait! I’ll put you on speaker,” Alya said. “Okay, we’re all ears!”
Marinette had finally cracked, mostly because she couldn’t hold it in anymore. This had been the best day ever, and she knew her friends would be thrilled too. “My cousins back in town. We went out for lunch. We’re at school now and headed to class now. They can’t wait to see you all again!  See you in five.” And with that, she happily hung up the phone. Unaware of the havoc she just unleashed.
The class sat in silence. No one moving. No one was making a sound. Not even Lila was curious about why her morons were acting so strangely. Slowly horrified looks appeared on the students' faces.
“RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!” Kim screamed, picked up Max in his arms, and shot for the door. And just like that, everyone was running, pushing and shoving to making their escape. Some went for the door. Some went for the window. Crawling over each other in a heated battle to get out before…. They came.
After Kim (and Max) escaped, Bustier blocked the rest from leaving. She attempted to calm her students, standing in front of the door, refusing to budge. “I know we’re all excited for our visitor, but there’s no need for such a ruckus. Everyone should return to their seats, and we’ll greet them in an orderly manner.”
Everyone paused what they were doing and just looked at their teacher. It was the first time Bustier got a mass “Are you stupid” look. And then went back to what they were doing.
The kinder kids in class, Nathaniel and Adrien, begged their teacher to move away from the door. They were running out of time. Alix cursed her out. Chloe threatened to have her fired.
“No,” Bustier crossed her arms for once refusing to give in to her students. “This is ridiculous. I am your teacher. I demand that you list-” She didn’t get the chance to finish her sentence because she hadn’t seen the punch coming.
Sabrina, the small, glasses-wearing redhead, coldcocked the teacher, earning surprised looks from everyone in the class, apart from Chloe, who snorted at them, “What you thought I only kept her around because she did my homework?”
Sabrina stepped over her teacher’s fallen body, swung opened the door, “Come with me if you want to live,” Sabrina yelled and led the charge of fleeing students.
Alya hadn’t hesitated to jump out of the window. She didn’t care if she got hurt or hit her head and ended up in a coma. It was better than the alternative as far as she was concerned. She loved Marinette with all her heart, but she couldn’t do it. Not again. Never again. When Alya landed outside, she booked it. However, she didn’t head home. (Marinette would look for her there). Instead, she fled with no direction mind. She never thought about the friends she left behind. (She could make new ones.). She only spared a thought for her boyfriend. Nino was strong. He’d make it, she thought. And if not…. Luka was cute. Nino would want her to move on.
Rose, with a strength no one realized she was capable up, stacked a few desks together, and climbed out of the vents. Then came back when she realized Juleka never followed but was on the floor balled up on the floor having a panic attack. She refused to leave her best friend behind and tried to get the Goth to snap out of it before it was too late. Eventually, after a well-earned slap from Rose, the two fled through the vents rather than risk running into Marinette in the hall.
Rose was a good friend. Unlike Nino, who blatantly pushed Adrien off his chair and onto the floor, jumped over his friend and fled out of the classroom, all while yelling, “Sorry, every man for themselves, bro.” Adrien had pouted but quickly followed his friend and the others out the door.
Mylene gave her boyfriend a solemn look. She had hurt her foot just last week and couldn’t walk with crutches. They both knew there was no way she could get out time, “Go,” She ordered Ivan. “Save yourself.”
“I won’t leave you behind,” Ivan shook his head, tears burning in his eyes. “Together or not at all.” He promised and used helped her up and allowed her to lean on them as they slowly made their escape.
Eventually, only Lila and a knocked out Bustier remained in the classroom. Lila was stunned at what she had seen. She looked around the classroom before finally exclaiming, “What. The. Fuck.” However, Lila only allowed herself that moment of surprise before she chose to wisely vacate through the window. She didn’t know what was wrong, but she wasn’t stupid enough to stick around to try and find out. Lila would ask questions after she ran for her life.            Marinette arrived at the classroom seconds later with a bright smile on her face that quickly turned into a frown, “Why does this always happen?” Her cousin(s?) shrugged.
...
You guys can add on if you like and DECIDE your yourselves who’s Marinette cousin/cousins that are visiting. And why the reactions?

All You Had to Do Was Stay (Post Reveal/ Pre Relationship) (3/4)
Summary:
Three years ago, Marinette revealed her identity to him. Three years ago, he promised to wait in a hotel room for her. Three years ago, she opened the door to find it empty.
Now she's expected to play nice with him, since she's the maid of honor and he's unfortunately the best man. But old habits die hard, and old feelings die harder.
"This is a wedding, not a death march, Marinette."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was going well.
Or, at least as well as a combination Bachelor and Bachelorette party planned entirely via awkward emails could go.
Which could be attributed solely to her and her thousands of schedules and planners, along with the fact that she checked the weather almost religiously and the tide predictions. Adrien just bankrolled most of the thing, which worked well enough seeing as he was the head of a multi-billion-dollar fashion house and she was an up-and-coming designer with an Etsy shop focusing on affordable fashion for normal people. Sure, he insisted on a few things, such as not using the Couffaine’s houseboat (He’d actually tried to argue against a boat entirely) or serving shots with Kim and Alix finally reuniting at this party—But most of it could be attributed to her.
She was pretty sure that was him trying to please her, to play nice after that disastrous night outside the bakery. He was avoiding her as much as possible, and any time he was faced with her he resolved the tension by agreeing to her as much as possible.
He was capable of learning, she supposed.
Marinette stood to the side of the bar as the boat they road on bobbed upwards and downwards, a hand braced on the counter and a glass of water that had she poured into a wineglass in the other. She hadn’t admitted to anyone, but she had a habit of getting seasick. The dim lighting of the fairy lights twinkling overhead combined with the loud pounding of music did a good job of hiding that.
She gave a small, weak smile as she looked out to her friends on the dance floor, some of them being people who she hadn’t seen for far longer than Adrien. Kim and Alix were locked in an exaggerated slow dance that had the two cackling, Juleka and Rose had stolen away to a corner, and Sabrina was excitedly explaining her business as a personal assistant to anyone who would listen. It’d been a long time since she’d seen them all, and it made her sentimental. She rarely saw anyone outside of Alya and Nino now.
“Makes you nostalgic, huh?” A deep, familiar voice asked her, obviously having slid in beside her at the bar at some point.
The side of her mouth tugged harder, and that nauseous feeling in her stomach momentarily left her. She let her blue eyes drift over, practically beaming as she took him in. “Luka Couffaine,” she said. A part of her wondered if he would come.
His long, shaggy blue hair and sharp eyes were now the highlight of the evening. Or almost the highlight. “Marinette,” he said, “fancy meeting you here.”
“Oh yes,” Marinette agreed, “it’s shocking for the maid of honor to be at the Bachelorette party.”
“Well, when she’s got a problem with the best man,” Luka began.
Marinette shot him a look. “Be quiet, someone could hear you.”
“I think everyone would have to be blind not to know,” Luka said, leaning against the bar beside her. She knew where he was looking, who he was watching. Yet, despite that, he said, “a part of me always hoped it would be us out there. Doing all of this.”
Her smile fell. “But you’re happy now?”
“Immensely,” he confirmed, and one look at his face reaffirmed that. He was still watching, still taking it all in. If her eyes traveled to the same place, she could do it too. She could look at Adrien Agreste and wonder how everything got so utterly awful. “I knew it wouldn’t be us, Marinette. We weren’t those type of people.”
“The type of people to get married?”
“The type of people to fit together without any gaps,” he explained. “No room for concern, no regrets.”
She sighed. There was more to it, of course. There was so much more to everything, like the fact that she could never do it, never give herself completely to Luka. She was always waiting, lingering in hallways at the slightest flash of the right shade of blond, and hearing familiar laughter in the silence.
She loved Luka, but she was always wanting. She needed Chat, she needed Adrien, she needed whatever form of him he would give her—
“You still love him, don’t you?” Luka asked. It was a stupid question. She’d seen Adrien six times since he came back, and half of those moments were in passing. Any rational person would say no, only crazy romantics would say yes.
So, she stayed silent.
“I want you to be happy,” Luka said finally, and it was a bucket of cold water poured on her. A reminder of reality, of where she was now, and a rush of that seasickness back to her gut. But when he said it, there was that hint of leftover desire, that underlying subtext that there was a hole in his heart, and it would always be there for her.
And the cold understanding that she never made a groove in her heart for him.
She turned to look at him, only to find him gone.
And with that came sickness.
Awful, churning sickness. A vile wave of nausea that assaulted her stomach. The boat lurched, and with it, so did she.
My god, she was going to die.
Marinette Dupain Cheng, beloved daughter and friend. Died of seasickness because of her own poor choices while planning a party to celebrate her friends’ upcoming wedding.
She threw her head back with another large wave, her eyes watering as she fought the overwhelming urge to die. Lila Rossi was at the party, slithering onto the guest list with a perfectly timed apology to Alya about an awful Instagram post. If Marinette turned any greener she was sure she’d be on Rossi’s snapchat story, paired with a caption questioning why exactly the poor girl was so sick. Another pregnancy rumor.
She grimaced at the thought and nearly fell to her knees as another wave jostled her. Luckily, a hand caught her before she could fall, the warmth of a thick blazer spread across her shoulders and distracted her momentarily.
“And this,” said a voice as she was hauled back onto her feet, “is why I argued against the boat.”
She turned both quickly and unsteadily, catching a mixture of blond and green before, unfortunately, practically falling against it.
She could have done worse.
She could have done much worse.
Such as vomiting on his Burberry jacket or ruining his Chanel shoes.
Adrien’s arms caught her easily, hooking underneath her armpits and hauling her upwards once more. “I’d make a joke about you falling for me, but all things considered… I’d say you’re sick of me.”
Badum tss.
Marinette groaned, resting her forehead against his chest only because it was the main thing keeping the rest of the world from overwhelming her. “Were your jokes always this stupid?”
“Things seem a lot funnier when you’re madly in love,” he said, and she made sure to fire back a glare in response. “That’s good,” he said with an air of authority when she looked at him, “eyes on me, focus on the conversation instead of the waves.”
“Can I have a different conversation partner?” she fired back.
He rolled his eyes, shaking his head at her as he kept a hand braced on her back, the other braced on her shoulder to keep her upright. “Do you want someone else to know you’re sick?” He asked, “because I guarantee Alya and Nino will hear.”
Ugh.
“We’re going to get you inside,” Adrien decided, evidently having spotted a door back into the cabin.
“And then?” She asked, she didn’t see how that would help.
“And then I’ll stay by you in case it all goes south, and you can play YouTube videos on my phone to distract you for another hour or two until Alya goes looking for you. Then you’ll take some selfies, come back, and we’ll wash, rinse, and repeat.”
Marinette wrinkled her nose. “I don’t trust you to stay anywhere, Agreste.”
He flinched. “Okay, fair, but… I’m your only option here so,” he tilted his head at her, looking down as he withdrew his hand from her waist only to offer it to her again. “Either you take my hand and we go, or I leave you here at the mercy of the Seine, which seems to be in quite the mood today.”
He had a point.
“Fine,” she said, slapping her hand into his. “I’ll sit next to you, but I will not talk to you. Don’t expect a miraculous turn around.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I hope you know that nearly every YouTube recommendation of yours being highlight reels of Ladybug and Chat Noir is not endearing,” Marinette informed Adrien, “it makes you look self-obsessed.”
“It’s not every YouTube recommendation,” Adrien scoffed, moving beside her to point at his screen. “See? Anime.”
“Top ten anime waifus?” Marinette read out, shooting him a look.
“You know that’s not what it says,” he responded, yet she couldn’t help but note the way that he took a second look as if making sure.
They were on the ground in the cabin of the boat, nearest the hallway where the kitchens and bathroom were. Adrien was the one to declare that the safest, a place where she could get water if needed, and if worse came…
“When will this finally pass,” Marinette asked yet again as she let herself fall onto her back, she’d repeated the question with every single video finished, but her impatience continued to grow.
And he repeated the same answer, “in four hours when the boat finally docks and we end up on dry land.”
Four hours.
“You were never good in the water,” he said, “and this is coming from the guy dressed like a cat.”
She glared, slapping his thigh. “When this boat lands, the truce ends.”
His smile faltered at that, and he let himself sink down onto the ground beside her, his eyes trained towards the ceiling.
This had a time limit; all of this had a time limit. Even she had almost forgotten that. Because eventually the wedding would end, eventually there would be no more forced interactions, eventually he would go home. Eventually she would go back to her life and wonder the same damn question.
“Why weren’t you there that night?” There was no gracefulness to how it was presented, it merely clattered from her like a knife falling from a kitchen table. It was heavy and loaded, the kind of question that you swallowed down every time you saw someone, not the type that you lobbed out when you were laying side by side and wishing it had been like this so many other times.
She could feel his eyes on her.
“I…” he began, but whatever he meant to say was a false start. He swallowed the letter and tried again. “I don’t…” Know? Care? Want to talk about this?
Why did she care anymore?
What would it change?
Nothing.
“I was scared,” he said finally.
“Okay,” she said.
And that was that. That should have been that. That should have been her hint, her great sign.
“Why?”
And with that single word he rose to his forearms, looking over at her. He was in her field of vision, where she couldn’t ignore him. A hint of pink graced the edge of his green eyes, but his lips were set in an almost determined look, and she wondered if he would stumble over his words again.
“My father was just arrested for being Hawk Moth, my mother was found in my basement, I lost the only home I ever knew to police investigations, and suddenly guardians were at my door asking for Plagg—all in one day. Choose a reason, Marinette.” It wasn’t vile, it wasn’t angry, it wasn’t even cold. She didn’t know how to describe it.
“You disappeared.”
“I couldn’t stand to be in Paris any longer.”
“You didn’t tell me.”
“What would I say?!” He replied, his voice loud, far louder than he obviously intended. He flinched as it echoed through the air, and suddenly she was all knives and anger.
“Hello Marinette,” she responded, “or should I say Ladybug, the girl I’ve claimed to be in love with for six years! It’s been great, a fun time and all, but man am I tired—see you in three years without a single message! Good luck wondering if it’s because of you, if you being the girl behind the mask is what changed it all, even though the only difference was one scrap of red fabric!” She glared, sitting up, “Miss. You.”
“You think that’s how it was?” He began, his eyebrows narrowed as he raised from his arms, his eyes staring holes into hers. “I told you…”
“You’d love whoever was behind the mask,” she finished, pushing off of the ground. “But let’s be honest here—Not Lila, not Chloe, and not me. Never me.” She stumbled to her feet, gripping the wall as she finally stood. “I told you who I was, and you were terrified! I saw it, I knew! I should have known why—"
“Because you’re you, because you’re Marinette, because you’re--” he was scrambling to his feet, scrambling to keep her there, scrambling to make some sort of sense.
“Because I’m Marinette?” She repeated, and it didn’t take a rocket scientist to hear the mistake. To know that she was right, that this was all some stupid curse put upon her by a universe that would thankfully, in a month’s time, solve the situation.
“That’s not—Jesus Christ, I—”
He didn’t need to say more.
She began to walk away, to risk the treacherous river waves. Anything was better than this, anyone was better than him—
“Because you’re perfect,” he called before she could even begin to walk out that stupid door, and every cell in her body stopped moving. “Because you’re pretty and you’re kind. Because you have a perfect family and everyone loves you, Nino loves you, Alya loves you, I—” He thought better of saying whatever came next there. “Because you were going to be a fashion designer, and the best one anyone’s ever seen. Because you try to be good to everyone you meet. Because at the end of the day you’ll always be good, too good for me, and I’m…”
“You’re,” she was surprised that she asked it, that she could process anything.
And there was a pause, a long, heavy one. One where anything, any combination of words could go wrong.
“Because people would see you walking beside me, and you would still be good, and you would still be kind and you would still be gentle; but they’d see none of that. Because they’d look over and see me. They’d see what my father made and what my father ruined.” Quietly, he confessed, “you would be perfect and none of that would matter, because they’d look over and see Hawkmoth’s son.”

Miraculous AU - Chapter 3 - Stoneheart
Beginning || Previous || Next
Marinette and Alya burst into their classroom. Everyone present paused and turned towards the pair.
“Everyone, we have a new classmate!” Alya announced.
Rose bounced excitedly. “Who is it?”
Alya glanced towards the door and held up a finger. Marinette looked over as Chloe and Sabrina entered the room with Adrien behind them. When he entered the room, all eyes turned to him.
            “Everyone, meet the Adrien Agreste!”
A few audible gasps escaped the other students, while a few others were unfazed.
Rose bounced to the front of the room dragging Juleka behind her. “Hello, Adrien! It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Rose Lavillant and this is my girlfriend, Juleka Couffaine.”
Juleka blinked. She stared at Adrien with an analytical eye. Adrien shrank back under the weight of her eyes.
“Don’t worry. It’s how she says hello,” Alya said.
            “Sure.”
Luka approached and stood beside Juleka.
“Hey, I’m Luka Couffaine, Juleka’s twin.”
Adrien smiled and offered his hand to Luka. “It’s a pleasure, Luka.”
Luka returned the smile and handshake. “Likewise.”
“So, what brings someone like you to our school?” Alix asked from her desk.
            “Alix, be nice,” Rose admonished.
“What? I can’t be the only one wondering. Right?”
Everyone else shrugged, except for Max and Alya.
“It is a tad peculiar that you’d be here, Adrien,” Max said.
“Yeah, even I can’t help but wonder why,” Alya agreed.
“Well, to be honest, I’m not sure either. Father was against the idea before, but he suddenly changed his mind. He even went as far to enroll me in the same school as Chloe.”
“Are you two friends or something?” Alix asked.
“Is there a problem with that?” Chloe asked.
“So long as he’s not like you,” Alix retorted.
Adrien leaned over to Marinette. “Is there a problem with that?” his whispered.
Marinette looked at Adrien. “Huh? Oh. Chloe just doesn’t have the, uh, best reputation around here. But I’m sure that won’t be a problem.”
            “You think so?”
Marinette nodded. “Chloe’s rep might cause some trouble, but I’m sure once people see the good in you, they’ll see past all that. If they don’t, that’s their loss, am I right?”
            “I suppose.”
Marinette lightly nudged Adrien. “C’mon, let’s take our seats. Class should start any minute.”
Everyone dispersed towards their seats. Adrien looked around and saw Chloe pointing to the sat in front of her. As he moved there was a loud crash. Tremors shook the ground. Everyone standing stumbled and fell or caught themselves on something.
            “What was that?” Rose asked.
Before anyone could speak, there was a loud, monstrous roar and thunderous footsteps.
Alya tugged at Marinette’s dress. “Let’s investigate.”
            “Alya. Wait.”
Alya ignored Marinette and ran out the room. Marinette sighed and ran after Alya. In the halls, students were filed out of classrooms towards the exits. Their teacher ran up and stopped before them.
“Marinette. Alya. I ask that you evacuate with everyone else.”
            “What’s going on?” Alya pressed.
“You’ll find out soon enough. Now go.” Their teacher left them and headed into the classroom to get the others.
Marinette turned to leave as a goliath stone golem came barreling through the walls. Students and teachers were sent flying with the rubble. Marinette and Alya were separated by the monster. It ignored them as it headed for their classroom. Marinette gawked at the monster until a little ladybug buzzed around her. She turned her attention to the ladybug as it landed on her nose, buzzed its wings, and twirled three times.
            “Little lady? No, Tikki.”
Marinette scooped up ladybug Tikki and ran. She had to transform, but not here. She stumbled her way pass the rubble to an empty classroom on the ground floor. She halted when she saw the destruction of the stone golem. The classroom torn apart, debris everywhere, and remnants of students unable to escape the destruction.
            “Tikki?”
The ladybug morphed into Tikki. “Yes?”
“I have to ask, that Miraculous power, can it…?”
Tikki shook her head. “I’m sorry, Marinette. Some miracles come at certain prices.”
Marinette opened her mouth, but then shut it. She bowed her head, then looked at Tikki. “Then we need to stop that monster. Tikki, spots on!”
Tikki vanished into the earrings and transformed Marinette. She followed the path of destruction until the monster was in view. She grabbed her yo-yo and took several breaths. She pitched it towards the monster, smacking it on the head. It growled and turned towards her.
“Stay out of my way, little bug! I will crush you too!”
Marinette’s eyes widened; that’s Ivan’s voice. She looked up and saw the exposed pipes. She threw her yo-yo towards them, and it wrapped around them. She tugged on the string, and it pulled her towards the pipes.
“Please, I just want to talk.”
“I’m done talking. I’m going to destroy everyone that ever made fun of me, made me feel weak. Once I do, I’ll take what’s mine.”
“But is it worth all this?” Marinette gestured behind her at the destruction.
“It’s a small price to pay, but I’ll pay it.”
Marinette frowned. She glanced and saw her classmates and teacher sneaking past the monster. “No price is worth this. It makes you no better than those that bully you.”
The monster roared and reared back its arm, crashing into the floor. Her classmates shrieked as they fell. Marinette freaked out and flicked her heads. Her yo-yo released from the pipes, and she fell. She ignored her own descent as she threw it towards her classmates.
            “Creation!”
The yo-yo turned into a ball of red light and flew towards the students. A net formed under them, breaking their fall before they hit the ground. Marinette smacked into the floor, though the impact didn’t hurt. She stood as the monster turned towards her classmates.
            “Get out of here! Run!”
Those that remained on the net slid off and ran for the exit. Of the students, Adrien paused and looked back. The monster charged towards the ladybug hero but missed as she dodged away. It collided with more of the building, bringing more of it down. Chloe grabbed Adrien’s arm and pulled him from the building, past the crowd. Students all around him were being directed in an attempted orderly fashion.
“Let’s go. We’re going back to the Le Grand Paris and there we’ll call Nathalie,” Chloe said.
“Maybe you should head back, and I’ll wait for Nathalie here?” Adrien suggested.
Chloe turned and gave Adrien a look. “You’d rather wait here while there’s a rampaging creature, that could still kill you, just to wait for Nathalie to get you?”
Adrien chuckled nervously. He rubbed the back of his neck and felt something fuzzy. He turned slightly and was face-to-face with a black cat. It purred loudly as it smiled, rubbing its chin on him. He looked back at Chloe, her eyes wide and jaw slightly ajar.
            “I can explain,” Adrien started.
Chloe pressed her index finger to her lips, then dragged Adrien away. She took them far enough from the school and crowd, hiding in an alley way. Once hidden from view, the cat transformed into Plagg.
“About time! Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for you to escape?” Plagg scolded.
“Now is not the time,” Adrien said as he gestured to Chloe.
Plagg looked at Chloe. “What? I never said you couldn’t tell others.”
“You barely told me anything. Look, that’s beside the point right now.”
“Adrien, what’s going on?” Chloe asked.
“Uh, I might have agreed to help this little guy and I need to go back to help that ladybug girl.”
Plagg sat on Chloe’s head. “Yup! Might want to hurry. The ladybug isn’t exactly built for combat. That’s our job.”
            Adrien sighed. “Plagg, claws out.”
Plagg vanished into the ring and transformed Adrien.
“I need to go. I’ll see you later, I hope.” Adrien grabbed his staff and readied to leave but was pulled back by Chloe.
“Once you finish, come to the hotel. I’ll tell Nathalie that you’re with me if she asks. As far as she knows, you’re still at school, until she or your dad sees the news. It’ll be the top floor, with the largest balcony. Trust me, it’ll be hard to miss.”
            “Are you sure? Father might-.”
“Who cares? We have a lot to talk about. So, hurry and help that ladybug girl, then we’ll catch up.”
“I’ll try to make this quick.” Adrien waved good-bye and headed off.
Inside the school, Marinette ran about as she dodged the monster’s attacks. She caught a glimpse of the net she created disappear and her yo-yo finally return to her. She hurled it at the monster’s leg. Her yo-yo warped around it, and she ran, catching its other leg with the string. The creature yelled as it fell. When it hit the floor, it dropped a purple ball from its right hand. She used her yo-yo and took the odd ball before it could reclaim it.
“Give that back!” the monster roared.
“You want it? Come and get it!”
Marinette threw her yo-yo up. It managed to catch onto some hanging debris of a massive hole in the ceiling. She tugged on the string, and it sent her up. On her ascend, the monster threw a rock towards her. It narrowly missed her but hit her yo-yo. Panic seized her as she fell. She closed her eyes and threw her yo-yo again. Fortunately, it caught on something. She pulled the string, but there was a delay. She tried again and was launched into the air. She opened her eyes to see the sky on her descend back down. She closed her eyes again, ready to throw her yo-yo again, but someone caught her. She cracked open an eye and gasped softly. A tall boy with messy blonde hair with black cat ears and a mask looked at her with piercing green cat eyes.
“Caught between a rock and a hard place, little lady?”
Marinette blushed as she stared at him.
He put her down. “Sorry to leave you to this rockhead. Y’know how us cats can be. Always showing up whenever we want to.”
Marinette chuckled nervously. “It’s no big deal. I had it under control, mostly. So, you’re my, uh, partner?”
“The one and only. You can call me.” He paused.
Marinette looked the boy up and down. He was a few inches taller than her, but no surprise at this point. His outfit was a mostly simple black catsuit except for the top of it. From his upper chest to out to his arms was a lime green. Around his waist was a set of three belts with one of them extending out into a tail. It was all simple but worked perfectly. She looked back up to his eyes and saw the confusion in them.
“Did you say something?” Marinette asked.
He blinked, then laughed. “I said you may call me Chat Noir, little lady.” He bowed with a small flourish to her, then stood. “And what do I call you?”
            “Um. Ladybug?”
“Alright, Ladybug, what’s the plan on dealing with rocky?”
Ladybug held out the ball. “This.”
            “What is that?”
“It’s the source of its power, I think. It sure wants it back.”
In response, the monster roared and hurled boulders at them.
“So, what’s the catch? Why haven’t you destroyed it yet?”
“I can’t. Only you can. Probably with your destruction powers.”
“Purr-fect. We can wrap this up quickly then.”
Chat Noir held out his hand. Ladybug went to hand it over but paused as she heard a shout. She looked around for the source, then heard it again from below. She glanced down and screeched. Alya stood beside some piles of debris with her phone out.
“Can you keep the creature distracted?”
Chat smiled and pulled out his staff. He examined it, pressed the green pawprint button, and it extended. “My pleasure.”
Ladybug waited for him to jump in before she headed towards Alya. She skidded to a halt beside Alya and glared at her. Alya’s eyes widened as her jaw dropped.
“What are you doing here? You need to leave!”
Alya looked around, avoiding eye contact. “I… was separated from my class, but just listen before you take me away.”
            “Make it quick.”
“I have a blog I’ve been making on superheroes and you guys are the real deal! Could I maybe?” Alya trailed off as she nudged her phone closer to Ladybug.
Ladybug sighed and facepalmed. “Fine, but the moment the monster is gone, you stop the recording.”
            “Deal!”
Ladybug nodded and turned to the monster. She tossed her yo-yo in front of the monster’s face as it caught on some rubble. “Hey, Kitty!”
Chat landed on the golem’s head, looking over at Ladybug. She smiled and tugged on the string. She flew towards the monster and tossed the ball behind her.
            “Look good for the camera!”
Chat grinned and launched towards the ball. He caught it and rolled on the ground, standing up before Alya. The monster grabbed the string of the yo-yo and yanked on it. The yo-yo was released from the rubble and hovered over the monster.
“Creation!” Ladybug yelled. The yo-yo glowed and transformed into a large blanket that covered the monster. She landed on it and looked over at Chat and Alya. He posed for her as he held up the ball. Black particles emitted from his hand and turned the ball black. It crumbled away and a purple butterfly shot from it. It writhed and broke apart. Beneath Ladybug, the monster vanished. Ladybug yelped as she plummeted but was caught by Chat.
            “Spacing out again?”
Ladybug giggled awkwardly as she rolled her eyes. “Not… not this time. Just wasn’t prepared for that.”
Chat nodded and put Ladybug down. He lifted the blanket causing it to poof into a cloud of red smoke. The yo-yo fell onto the ground next to an unconscious Ivan. The particles that emitted from Chat’s hand vanished as well.
Chat grimaced. His cat ears pinned back. “Oops, sorry.”
“It’s ok. You saved me a minute of waiting. Did you stop the recording?” Ladybug added on, looking at Alya.
“I did. See.” Alya held up her phone to show she wasn’t recording anymore.
            “Good.”
“So, was this boy that golem thingy?” Chat asked.
“I believe so. I was told that the butterfly can transform others and give them powers, but it’s in the hands of a dark-hearted person, so its power is corrupted.”
“So, instead of making them like, superheroes, they’re supervillains. And now Paris has its own heroes.” Alya grinned and help up her phone towards Chat and Ladybug. “Smile for the camera.”
Ladybug opened her mouth to protest but was cut off when Chat pulled her close to him and posed. Ladybug froze. Blush crept up on her cheeks as she stared ahead.
            “Good reflexes, Chat,” Alya said.
Chat chuckled nervously as he ran a hand through his hair. “Yeah… yeah. Alright, let’s get going. Where’s exit?”
“Buried under a mountain of rubble,” Alya said dryly.
“I guess we go up then,” Ladybug said.
Alya grinned and took Ladybug’s arm. “I’ll go with her. You should be able to handle him, right, Kitty?”
Chat looked at Ivan and shrugged.
“Excellent. Let’s go, Ladybug!” Alya yelled.
Ladybug rolled her eyes and threw her yo-yo up, catching it on the ceiling. She pulled on it and it launched them up. When they landed on the roof, they saw the school was surrounded by police, the news, medical vehicles, and fire engines.
“So, what’s the plan?” Alya asked.
“Try to make a good impression?” Chat suggested.
            Ladybug nodded. “Let’s go.”
They jumped down before the barricade. The police started and braced themselves. The police chief, Roger, strolled out and stood between them and the police.
            “What do we have here?”
Ladybug stepped forward. “I’m Ladybug and this is Chat Noir. We have taken care of the golem that was rampaging in the school. The monster is no more.”
            “Yeah? Where’s your proof?”
“It’s all on here,” Alya said. She handed her phone to Roger. He watched the recordings. A mix of awe, disbelief, and glimpses of terror passed on his face. Once the clips were done, Alya snatched her phone back.
“Manners, young lady, but I see that the monster was vanquished. Do you two know what the case of this was?”
“To my understanding, there is someone in possession of a powerful item that allows them to transform others. I cannot say what causes the transformations, but I do know that you’ll see a butterfly, one of dark energy.”
Roger looked between each of them, then at Ivan. “Was he?”
“Will you help him? I don’t know what the process does to the body, and he might need help.”
Roger nodded and gestured to the paramedics. They rushed in and took Ivan from Chat and ushered Alya away.
“Will he be punished?” Ladybug asked.
Roger scratched his head. “I can’t exactly say. This is… unusual, to say the least. I will need to speak with the mayor. For now, let me thank you both for what you’ve done here. We’ll take it over from here, get a cleanup crew in, the boring stuff.”
Roger bowed his head slightly, then turned to bark instructions to his men. Chat’s cat ears twitched as he looked at the school, then at Ladybug.
“Do you think we could do something?”
            “About what?”
“The school. We have the powers of creation and destruction. Surely, we can do something, right?”
“Did your kwami not tell you?”
            “No.”
“Well, you’ve got a bit of luck on your side. My kwami told me that with the power of both of us, the power of destruction can fuel to power of creation to make something long-lasting.”
Chat beamed. “What are we waiting for? Let’s do it!”
“Wait. Understand this, once we use the power, we won’t have long before we transform back. Once we use the power, we need to leave immediately.”
“So, what’s this power called? How exactly do we use it?”
            “It’s our Miraculous.”
At the word, the spots on Ladybug’s outfit glowed a bright red. A circle with a ladybug symbol appeared at her feet. In her left hand, a red orb appeared. The green on Chat’s outfit and eyes glowed. A circle with a cat symbol appeared at his feet and a black orb in his right hand.
            “Together?”
            “Together. One. Two. Three.”
“Miraculous!” they said in unison. They threw the orbs up in the air. The orbs hovered for a moment, then shot towards the school. They watched as the debris and rubble were consumed by the black sphere and it was remade by the red one. When it was done, there was a burst of blinding light, and the school was back as it was before. A beep emitted from both heroes. The spots on Ladybug’s earrings disappeared along with the paw print from Chat’s ring. They waved good-bye and headed off before they transformed back.

Infected
Infected
Ladybug darted to the Akuma’s side, ducking under its arm and conjuring a dagger to cut the object from the chain around the Akuma’s neck. Ladybug swung the arm holding the dagger, only for the Akuma to grab her arm and wrench the dagger free.
“Thank you.” Sneered the Akuma, before plunging the dagger deep into Ladybug’s side.
The Akuma leaned forwards, allowing Ladybug to rip the chain off their neck. The Akuma fluttered out and Ladybug caught it in her yoyo. She purified the butterfly and cast her Miraculous Ladybug. The scars that adorned the Eiffel Tower vanished, but the burning pain in her side remained. Ladybug looked down and saw the dagger was still in her side. Ladybug looked at the Akuma victim, before carefully wrapping an arm around them and taking them to the ground.
“Can you make your way home from here?” Asked Ladybug, looking at the citizen.
The citizen nodded and started to walk off, leaving Ladybug to head to the rooftops before she de-transformed. Ladybug just made it to her balcony, the dagger still in her side, it had to stay in to prevent her from bleeding out…right? Her transformation fell and the burning pain became blistering agony. Marinette looked down at the blade and wrapped her hand around the leather-bound handle. She quickly clamped her hand over the wound, as Tikki spotted it and flew off to get the first aid kit.
Marinette examined the dagger, the blade was roughly half the length of her forearm. On one side of the blade, it was serrated and on the other it was curved. Marinette’s first thought was that it was a hunting knife, before Tikki returned.
“You need to go to a hospital, Marinette.” Said Tikki, looking up at her chosen.
“And say what? I got stabbed fighting an Akuma as Ladybug?” Questioned Marinette, lifting her shirt up, “I don’t think it hit anything important.”
“That’s not the point, Marinette!” Protested Tikki, as Marinette put anti-septic onto the wound, “What if it gets infected?”
“Tikki, that only happens if the wound isn’t cleaned,” Sighed Marinette, carefully threading a needle, “I cleaned the wound, and this is going to hurt like hell.”
Tikki winced and looked away as Marinette stitched herself back up, “I still think you need to go to the hospital.”
“Tikki, I’ll be fine, what’s the worst that can happen?” Asked Marinette, climbing down into her room and carefully settling herself down into her bed.
I
Marinette scowled at the maths problem in front of her. It’d been a week since she had that knife jammed into her side and it was killing her, Lila had tried to trip her up and it was boiling. Thankfully, there hadn’t been an akuma today.
“Alright everyone, complete the problem you’re currently on and hand them in.” Said the Teacher, making Marinette sigh.
Alya glanced at Marinette’s paper, “Er, girl, you’ve only done three questions.”
“Sorry, it was really difficult.” Excused Marinette, collecting the papers and walking up to the teacher’s desk.
“Marinette, is everything alright?” Asked the teacher, frowning, “You look like you’re burning up.”
“It’s nothing.” Dismissed Marinette, handing the papers to them.
They had PE next, Marinette hoped that no one would question the vest she was wearing. No one even noticed she was wearing a vest, it hurt to move her arms. Marinette stumbled slightly and shook her head to get rid of the black spots appearing in her vision.
D’Argencourt had Marinette’s class standing in a line, “Today, we have guests, some from my fencing troop and others from other schools.”
Marinette spotted Kagami and gave her a small wave, before looking back at D’Argencourt.
“We will start our lesson off with five laps of the gym and then some stretches to warm up.” Commanded D’Argencourt, making everyone groan, “10 laps!”
Everyone was still grumbling as they started jogging, Marinette slightly slower than everyone else. Lila noticed and smirked to herself. They completed one lap, two, three. On the fourth lap, Lila ‘tripped’ and had Marinette run into the back of her.
“OW!” Cried Lila, gripping her ankle, as Marinette fell onto the floor on her side, “My ankle, it hurts!”
Everyone headed towards Lila and Marinette. D’Argencourt glanced at Lila and instructed her to sit on the bench for the rest of the lesson, before turning his attention to Marinette.
“Ms. Dupain-Cheng,” Said D’Argencourt, before frowning, “pretending to be unconscious isn’t going to work.”
Marinette didn’t move, making D’Argencourt sigh through his nose and grab her arm and hoist her up, “Ms. Dupain-Cheng!”
Rose looked over as D’Argencourt spoke and spotted a red patch blossoming on Marinette’s side. Rose screamed and pointing at the area, D’Argencourt followed Rose’s finger and froze.
“Le Chien; get the nurse, Raincomprix; call an ambulance, Lahiffe; get her parents.” Ordered D’Argencourt, carefully lowering Marinette to the ground and kneeling beside her. The teacher placed his hands over the wound and pressed down. He noticed no one had moved, “NOW!”
Nino and Kim shot off, while Sabrina ran to get her phone. Everyone was silent, as Sabrina returned with her phone. A couple minutes later, Kim returned with the nurse.
“Good lord!” Gasped the Nurse, before rushing over, “What the hell happened?”
“Rossi tripped, Dupain-Cheng ran into the back of her, I lifted her up and she started bleeding.” Grunted D’Argencourt, as blood seeped between his fingers.
“Keep compressing the wound, judging by the amount of blood it’s fairly deep.” Said the nurse, as Nino returned with Marinette’s mother.
Sabine froze, before she looked around. Alya looked like she was going to faint, while Adrien looked like he was staring death in the face. Sabine headed over to Alya, she might not be able to help her daughter, but she could help her friends.
“What happened?” Asked Sabine, touching Alya’s shoulder, jerking the girl from her daze.
“I, I don’t know.” Confessed Alya, “One second we were jogging, and the next Lila had bumped into Marinette and she passed out. Then Mr D’Argencourt picked her up and she started bleeding.”
Sabrina led a pair of paramedics into the gym, where they took over from D’Argencourt and the school nurse. A Police Officer entered a minute later, looking around and spotting the school staff. Adrien, Nino, Alya and Sabine were joined by Kagami and Luka.
“Looks like a knife wound.” Said a Paramedic, carefully removing Marinette’s blood-soaked shirt and vest. The Paramedic froze, “Apparently she tried to patch herself up.”
The Officer froze when he heard that, “I don’t suppose you know how to contact her parents?”
“Her mother is other there.” Said D’Argencourt, pointing at Sabine.
The office nodded and walked over to the Chinese woman, frowning.
“Mrs Dupain-Cheng?” Asked the Officer, looking down at the short woman.
“Mrs Cheng.” Corrected Sabine, looking up at him, “Is she going to be alright?”
“She should, at most the wound is an infected, shallow wound,” Responded the Officer, “I don’t suppose you know how she got the wound?”
Sabine shook her head, “No, as far as I know, she hasn’t come back in bleeding.”
“Is there anyone who you can think of, that may want to harm your daughter?” Questioned the Officer.
“No, I don’t think anyone would want to hurt Marinette?” Replied Sabine, her gaze falling back to Marinette.
“Are there any issues at home?” Asked the Officer, frowning.
Sabine’s head snapped around to look at him, her face going slack in shock.
“Are you trying to say that my husband and I did this to her?” Demanded Sabine, struggling to process the accusation.
“We’re considering all possibilities.” Answered the Officer, folding his arms, “We’ll be speaking to her when she wakes up.”
Without another word, the Officer spun on his heel and walked off, leaving a gobsmacked Sabine and silent Alya. The others had heard what the officer said, as well as what he’d implied.
“Marinette’s parents wouldn’t hurt her, would they?” Asked Lila, capitalising on the current state of shock.
“Her parents are the nicest people going,” Said Kim, frowning, “that guy was white, right?”
Nathaniel nodded, “He’s been hanging around the area, he’s actually known to be biased against anyone who doesn’t fit the aryan race.”
“Wait, he’s a nazi?” Asked Kim, giving Nathaniel a sideways look, “How’d you know?”
“His social media was featured in the news,” Responded the red head, “I thought he was suspended.”
“He is.” Confirmed Sabrina, getting ff her phone, “I just asked my dad if he’s been put back on duty. The answer’s he wasn’t.”
The class went over what Sabrina said, before the girl continued, “However, what he said about speaking to Marinette when she woke up was standard procedure, given how no one else can answer how she got that wound.”
“And the accusation that Marinette’s parents were responsible?” Asked Alix, glancing at the Paramedics, who were loading Marinette onto a stretcher and preparing to leave with her.
Sabine moved to follow them, stating she was Marinette’s mother. The procession exited the gym, leaving everyone in a flat silence.
“If that police officer is going to try and say that Marinette’s parents did this, we need to find a way to stop him.” Said Kim, as Alya, Nino, Adrien, Luka and Kagmai joined them.
“There’s a security camera that looked away from the school, it has Marinette’s balcony in the frame,” Said Alya, looking around the class, “it might’ve caught what happened.”
Everyone slowly turned and looked at Max.
“How did I know you were going to do that?” Sighed Max.
I
Everyone crowded behind Max, trying to get a good view of the screen.
“The School has to update their firewall and security systems, because it was far too easy to hack in,” Said Max, typing away at his keyboard, “Now, I just need to find the camera and the moment Marinette was stabbed.”
“Wait, you’re in?” Asked Kim, looking at Max.
Max sighed and slumped, “Yes, Kim, I’m in.”
“Ha, ha, classic.” Grinned Kim, as Max started his search.
“How far does the footage go back?” Asked Adrien, as Max brought up a video of Lila and Marinette.
“Well, this is the day Marinette was expelled.” Said Max, as Lila started walking down the stairs, “I don’t know what’s going on, since there’s no sound.”
Lila got to the bottom of the stairs, sat down and started screaming. Everyone stared as the teachers appeared and Lila accused Marinette of pushing her.
“That lying bitch.” Seethed Alya, pulling out her phone and opening google.
“What are you doing?” Asked Alix, as Alya glared at her phone.
“Research.” Growled Alya, glaring at her screen.
“Anyway,” Said Max, deciding to move forwards, “This is about a week ago, now we just need to wait for Marinette to appear.”
The group sat and watched as evening flew past, Kim laughed when he saw a pigeon fly into Marinette’s room and the girl throwing it back out the window. The evening progressed further, as the footage slowly got darker.
“This is surprisingly high quality.” Remarked Max, as a flash in Marinette’s room caught their attention.
Everyone froze as Ladybug appeared from Marinette’s skylight and swung off into the city.
“Okay, either Marinette’s Ladybug, she know’s who Ladybug is or she’s hooking up with Ladybug.” Said Kim, as Ladybug suddenly reappeared in the frame, with an Akuma chasing her.
“I missed an Akuma?” Whined Adrien and Alya, getting strange looks from everyone else.
“Are you two sure you aren’t one person?” Asked Nino, as Ladybug and the Akuma vanished again.
Everyone waited in silence for Ladybug to appear on the screen again. Max decided to speed up the footage, until Ladybug reappeared.
Ladybug roughly landed on Marinette’s balcony, where her transformation fell. Marinette sat crouch with her hand pressed against her side. A first aid kit flew up to her, with Marinette starting to patch herself up.
Everyone was silent at they tried to comprehend what they’d just seen.
I
Sabine watched as Marinette wriggled in the bed. A nurse stuck her head through the door, with Officer Raincomprix behind her.
“Marinette,” Said the nurse, softly, “This nice man was hoping you’d be able to answer some questions.”
Marinette scowled at the nurse, “I’m not a child, I’m fifteen and I know who he is.”
The nurse flushed, as Officer Raincomprix entered.
“Marinette,” Asked Raincomprix, sitting in a chair not far from the bed, “Can you remember how you got stabbed?”
Marinette looked down and gave a small nod.
“Do you know who did it?” Asked Raincomprix, leaning forwards.
Marinette shook her head, getting a disappointed sigh from Raincomprix.
“Why didn’t you tell anyone you’d been stabbed?” Questioned Raincomprix, running a hand down his face.
“I was embarrassed, I guess.” Mumbled Marinette, picking at the blanket.
Raincomprix sighed, “Marinette, you were very luck today. The doctors told me that the wound was become infected and, if it’d been left any longer, could’ve led to sepsis.”
Marinette continued to look and pick at the blanket.
“Marinette, the next time you’re hurt from an outside source, you need to tell someone, even if it’s a minor thing, like a bruise.” Implored Raincomprix, before getting up and leaving.
Sabine reached out and grasped Marinette’s hand, making the girl look at her, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“You and Papa are busy.” Mumbled Marinette, looking back at her lap.
“I meant what you are doing as Ladybug.” Sabine gently squeezed Marinette’s hand, making the girl’s head snap back up to look at her.
“H-how do you know?” Stammered Marinette, her mouth suddenly dry.
“Marinette, please,” Sighed Sabine, “give your father and I some credit. We noticed how you were conveniently absent during attacks, and you kept returning as if you’d been running a marathon.”
“I thought I was careful.” Mumbled Marinette, looking at her lap.
“You were,” Assured Sabine, “but we live under the same roof. The only way we wouldn’t know is if we were neglectful.”
“D-do you want me to stop?” Whispered Marinette, glancing at her mother.
“No, I just want you to be more careful in future. Maybe you could take up some self-defence classes just in case something like this happens again.”
Marinette kept her head down and gave a reluctant nod, at least her mother didn’t demand she stop being Ladybug.
“Now, how did you get stabbed?” Asked Sabine, looking down at Marinette.
“I, kinda, conjured a knife and the Akuma forced me to stab myself with it.” Mumbled Marinette, but Sabine heard her.
“WHAT THE FUCK?!”
I
“We can’t show this to the police.”
No one looked at Sabrina when she spoke, none of them disagreeing with her. It was bad enough that they all knew Marinette’s Identity, they couldn’t go and blab to the police.
“We’re going to have to tell her that we know.” Stated Adrien, looking around, “We can’t keep this from her.”
“How can we tell her?” Asked Juleka, looking at the Model, “How can we tell her that we know she’s Ladybug?”
Adrien was silent for a moment, “Leave it to me.”
