!!definitely, no company operates independently if 80 something percent of it is owned by a parent company, its just basic business. and they just released a shoot video for their next boygroup trainees? the timing is just very off
oh ya i agree completely the graphics have significantly downgraded since merging, nuests last album cover was so weird (but at least there was more effort in those teasers) and it was the same with their merch too...and now this one its just black text and pixelated numbers fdhsks
i saw theories this album was supposed to be for april...but now its a a disbandment album. even the concept to me doesnt match what a goodbye album would look like from them? the blank white previews really do make it clearer that they werent ready :(
ahh youre not wrong the two who resigned had the most schedules going on as of recent, so it made sense to me at first when they said the other three didnt sign...
(thanks for ranting w me i appreciate being able to talk about it >< ♥)
exactly!! i honestly can't believe there are people that don't see or understand that, even if this is kpop it's business and business runs the same everywhere
did they really??? a new boy group...wow.....oh wait i just searched it up i've seen this group mentioned before didn't they have a show or something i remember seeing some lyrics controversy but i won't derail this anymore lol but the timing sure is...something even if it's just a coincidence it's still rubbing some salt into the wounds....
even before the merger pledis has always been lazy with design lmao either that or they just don't budget a lot for it if they're paying someone for these (but what else is new, pledis is cheap) which reminds me of a nancy unboxing i watched a while back (i had to go find it, linked to timestamp), she mentioned that a fan found out one of svt's album color version was literally a direct inverse(?) of another one aka there was zero thought being put into color scheme....
i honestly try to erase romanticize's design choice out of my head like i gasped the first time i saw their teasers come out with that pls sakjhfdksfhs it was so ugly but i feel like another group had some similar design with some atrocious font spacing but i can't remember now i can only think of svt's the ode album but that "minimalistic" design would be more in line with what they did for nu'est the nocturne album which were also both......an interesting take on minimalism, font focused design (nct did something similar with their regular irregular era posters which i found much cuter)
honestly with pledis designs there's no vision which makes them pretty unmemorable, they're lucky the boys are pretty enough to make it work lmao their best work for me would be happily ever after album along with the website they made for it
yea...i've seen people suspecting the 10 year anniversary promos were supposed to lead up to the new album in april, it's so obvious this album was still in the works and got repurposed to be a goodbye album bc you're right the concept just doesn't make sense at all and they virtually have no design shdsfsdfdsf looking at the listed album goods too it's like nonexistent compared to any of their other album releases, they were really not ready to put this out
ugh...ok i thought so....this is 100% my cynical side speaking now that i've had more time to sit on it but i really don't like how they somehow managed to keep those with higher amounts of individual schedule (and possibly individual appeal) while the others just magically decide not to renew, sounds like someone was trying to min max profits, since despite nu'est doing well in korea, there's no doubt that managing 2 successful solo acts will be easier and less costly than kpop group promotions
also i was just so shocked jr would be one of the ones to not sign like maybe i'm delusional but that was like..did i read this wrong?? i just don't believe if he was given a proper chance to stay as nu'est that he would refuse that
but yes ofc!! it's nice to have someone to talk it out with since the situation got so ridiculous so fast, we all went from shocked and sad to collective frustration practically overnight lol
#talking about design tho and the merger yea that said parent group i'm not keen on their design vision either it's so hit or miss#but they have min heejin now but she's mainly working in their other division for girl group debut so she doesn't do any of the bg releases#search for her old work with sm and you'll find a ton! she really creates a good vision for designers to make good work#sm has been going more downhill now in the design without her i used to defend their design department so much#now they just embarrass me but their work for dream's hot sauce was good fingers crossed for glitch mode#key's bad love but he was his own creative director so lmao but they really brought his vision to life for real#yuehua has cute designs too i like woodz's equal and woops! eras#everything from scheduler to teasers to packaging was on point for those#astro's dream part 1 is also a memorable kpop design for me!!#i try not to think too much about the photos when taking in the designs unless it's meant to be photo driven#nice design is just a great added bonus for me in kpop which is why it's been so sad ever since covid bc it hit the visual sector the most#another group that puts out decent design concepts almost all the time during these times would be tbz#they have a lot of sm's old crew working for them too#absolutely derailing in tags but tying it back despite that company's world building their design has never been on par#once min heejin's work comes out for the gg whenever that will be then i will see again#question

hi! i’ve been thinking a lot about pledis recently and i’m not rly supportive of everything they do, but from what i’ve seen they do put effort in their artists, but it doesn’t really come out well(?), like they just can’t seem to hit that right spot. they’re arguably a baby (as a company) like nuest is literally their 1st ever boy group, and their way of promoting their artists never went well/got good feedback, and would make it more difficult to take risks (it’s hard to explain but yeah)
Honestly, yeah. I think an important thing to know is that the CEO originally was just a manager (I think it was originally for Boa? Some female soloist). Pledis originally started out with a tiny team in a tiny building (maybe a garage?) with very few artists. The industry has changed a lot since they started.
Their mistakes with Nu’est in Japan are actually pretty fascinating for lack of a better term, because the Japanese market was literally changing at the time of their debut and promotions there. It had just transitioned into a market that wanted new fan goods for every concert, and the market is actually super huge there (its music industry is only second to the US). If Pledis had been able to predict how important fan merch was to a touring group in Japan, things would have been a lot more profitable. Also, they didn’t think about keeping K and I fans fed with company-made content. That was a pretty new idea, I believe?
I think the other big issue is that Pledis didn’t have a lot of friends in the industry when they started out. The Big 3 are known by that label because of their sway in the industry, and their connections. Pledis basically had no connections at all. (Except like, idk, Han Sungsoo is pretty close with Heechul or something lol.) The artists had to get their own networking contacts at the same time the company was trying to get/improve theirs. Other companies who didn’t have connections at least usually had the bribe money to pay for their artists to come out on a show/get opportunities, but Pledis didn’t really have that money either.
What Pledis had the ability to do was “let’s train them to be the best they can be, because training is where our company/staff’s talent shines. and when their talent is noticed in their music promotions, good things will come to them.” And if one promotion didn’t work, they’d do another. And they’d do their best to try new things and innovate 24/7 in order to get attention. I think that they did take risks with the comebacks and innovation there! And with Hello Venus and Nu’est M. Those were some big risks.
Also, they had no parent company to help them stay afloat, either–unlike quite a few other small/medium companies.
When you take all those things together, it’s actually pretty surprising that Pledis had achieved any level of success. And their history kind of explains a lot of their decisions/mistakes: not a lot of experience, money, or connections.

A bit about us ^-^
Hello! We are Wishes In Writing! This blog has been around for about 7 months now.We all thought it was time to more or less introduce ourselves to you all that way there is a sense of a person behind the post.
Just because we are posting this, doesn’t mean we aren’t looking for new admins to join. If you would like to apply and try to be apart of this blog with us. Just go to this link and read up on how you can apply. :)
Admin Boat:
Hi! I am Admin Boat. I am the one who created this blog and I kinda worked solo on it until Satellite and Cloud joined me. Writing is a very new hobby to me. I never really wrote much until about two years ago. I decided to make this blog because with the new found love of writing. I wanted to make kpop scenarios and all that without congesting my already spam like main blog.
Now for the hard part… A bit about me: I am very much a plain Jane, vanilla flavored person . I am from Texas… I like to write (obviously) , i like watching tv and listening to music. So you know, i’m just like super basic in that sense. I love dogs. I am a pretty big nerd. A highlight of this was back in high school when a few acquaintances and I had a huge talk about different types of calculators…yeah that actually happened. ( i won’t say how long that conversation was because that will make it more embarrassing).
A more obvious thing about me is that i love kpop. I am a huge multifandom person. I have been into kpop for about 5 or 6 years now. I love groups like super junior, girls generation, f(x), big bang, bts, got7, shinee, block b, monsta x ,astro, exo, nuest, red velvet. …it would probably be easier for me to list the groups i am not a huge fan of. I just love all kpop. I try to support anyone and everyone as much as i can because all idols work so hard to do something they love.  The only cool part about me is probably the concerts i have been to.  I was so darn lucky to have gone to the GOT7 fan meet in Houston, to see Shinee in Dallas and to G-dragon’s concert in Houston (No i am not from that area of texas btw. I live in deep Texas at least 4 hours away from San Anotino.  A more accurate description is that i am like 10-20 minutes from the Mexican border… Yes, i happen to be Latina as well.)
When it comes to my writing style I like to keep things as real as possible. I tend to include alot of foul language or try not to stray away from sensitive/more serious topics ( this being the reason as to why to I gladly took in the alopecia request and the infertility request). My favorite type of genre to writing is angst. Don’t get me wrong though i am a sucker for fluffy stuff, but i do try to hold back on the cringe. Smut is something i can’t write though.  I have yet to become comfortable with writing (even reading) smut.
Admin Satellite:
Yo readers, Satellite here! I was the second admin that joined the blog. Me and Boat got to know each other through her previous work and I just kind of wanted to try writing too.
So, now over to me and my narcissistic ass; I’m kind of a weird turd from the northern parts of Sweden. If you hadn’t already noticed I’m quite weird… But hey, normal is boring! Anyways, I am mixed-race (Thai-Swedish) so I can speak both languages and English pretty fluently - I love languages and I’m currently learning more Asian languages since I find them more interesting.
When it comes to hobbies, I have a lot of them. Usually people ask me how many hours I have in a week since I do so much. I don’t think it’s that much… But it does get to me sometimes and causes stress. My main hobbies however include; travelling, dancing, everything music (singing, playing instruments etc.), learning languages, science (I go the science program at school and I’ll graduate this summer thank god), writing, painting, drawing, memes… and the list goes on.
As for writing style I love keeping it real, just like Boat. I also don’t really censor anything so swearwords and triggering content might usually occur (I do put warnings before though so don’t worry). Recently I have been quite busy though so I haven’t had the time to be active. But I’ll try my best as soon as my senior project is over and school starts to calm down.
Admin Cloud:
Hey Guys! I’m Admin Cloud and I am the third admin of this fantabulous blog. I was (still am) a big fan of Admin Boat and Satellite’s writing (I even requested some of their scenarios), so as I was going through their blog, I saw the admin wanted post and thought. Hmmm why not? So here I am!
Anyways, about me. Welllllllllllll…….I’m a military brat, and I’m currently living in Japan, sadly not in Tokyo, but close enough (only an hour train ride). Sadly I don’t speak Japanese nor do I know how to read, I know a few words and phrases but nothing that could hold a conversation. BUT I am Filipino and I could understand and somewhat speak Tagalog.
As far as hobbies go, singing is always the first thing that comes to mind. I love singing and honestly, you’d probably get tired of me singing or humming if you were around me for so long. BUTTT other than singing and obsessing over k-idols, I also enjoy a little photography, doing makeup, reading, writing, playing (and winning prizes) from claw machines, and most importantly…..collecting CD albums. I know collecting albums is “so outdated” but I love it! I have an entire box filled to the top with albums, and not just kpop albums (although the kpop industry takes CD albums to another freaking level) but also western artist’s albums. I hope that my album collections continues to grow so I could potentially have an entire room dedicated to them ^.^
Finally, a little bit about my writing style. I’ve been writing stories since I was in probably 6th or 7th grade. Ever since I stumbled upon Quizazz (now Quotev) and Wattpad, I’ve been inspired to write sappy love stories to make up for my lack of love live…JOKEEEE lol not really. Anywayssss I’m more comfortable with 1st person writing but I’m willing to challenge myself in order to grow as a writer. As for censorship, I do use curse words for dramatic purposes but if I feel that the scene could move on without any foul language, then I try my best to keep it clean. Just like Admin Boat, I also like to write angst, just because I feel like I could make it more realistic than if I were to write some fluffy stuff. But smut I’m a little uncomfortable with writing. I mean sometimes I read some smut but reading it is wayyyyy different than writing it. BUT if someone were to request it, I won’t shy away from the challenge ;)))
Again, we are still up to a new admin joining us. If you are interested, please take a look at this post

I found your 'experience with the ladies' ranking for nuest and bts hella interesting. Could you do the same for Wanna one?? 😊😊
Hey~ Thank you and yeah sure. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion, so if you think something else or the ranking would be another, you can always message me. ^^
WANNA ONE -
Ong Seungwoo - out of the members of Wanna One, Seungwoo is definitely the one with the most experience; I remember him saying that he always lets girls talk to him informally and he seems very relaxed around girls so if he likes someone he would just go for it and confess; he pings as someone who would be more into casual dating or small flings rather than a long-term relationship. Also, in all his pre-debut photos he is surrounded by girls and I’m guessing he is very popular among females.
Kang Daniel - now, Daniel I am sure he had some girlfriends, I mean he is so handsome and kind to everyone it would be impossible for him not to date. He is pretty chill and laid-back and with his dancer background I am sure he attracted lots of females. I think that even if he wouldn’t flirt, girls will just come to him and do it. But even though he has experience in the dating field, I think he would rather have a serious relationship as opposed to just seeing someone and having an on & off type of relationship.
Hwang Minhyun - now, I said about Minhyun how he always says he doesn’t have any experience and I don’t believe any of that still. As I said, I don’t think he is particularly interested in having a girlfriend, but if it happens then he will just go with it. Definitely wants to have a long-term relationship as opposed to flings.
Ha Sungwoon - he is such an adorable being so it would be hard for girls not to fall for his charm. He is so cute and genuine with everything he does and I feel like he is someone who falls for girls easily. He has dated before and all that, but somehow I don’t think his relationships lasted very long, there’s just something that makes me think that, I can’t pin it but it’s there.
Yoon Jisung - Jisung is a bit ambiguous to me, to be honest; because he is slightly older I wanna say that he has a lot of experience, but I don’t think that’s the case. He has his fair share of experience with girls, but I think because he is so funny and kind girls were often mistake him for a best friend, rather than someone they would want as a girlfriend
Kim Jaehwan - he pings as someone that has had girlfriends before, but not too many. Just like one or two. He is in the middle because he has some experience, but I think he would look for a serious relationship rather than just flings. Just like Minhyun, he would much rather focus on his career and work rather than finding a girlfriend.
Lai Guan Lin - he seems the cool type girls always fall for. I think he is pretty popular among girls and I think he may have a little experience. Like dating someone casually or just a mutual crush. Honestly, I am 100% sure he gets lots of love confessions from girls and since he is at an age where he would want to date, he may do it/have done it quite recently.
Park Jihoon - for the maknae line it’s pretty hard to rate them honestly because they are all fairly young and inexperienced. Jihoon pings me as the type to like people easily, but be too awkward to talk to his crush and just stare from a distance. He is this up on the list because I think that even if he’s awkward, girls will be the ones to flirt with him. So he may have had a fling or two before, but nothing very serious.
Lee Daehwi - I’ve seen him interact with Somi before and he looked so cute and not one bit shy. Even if she’s just a friend, I think their friendship helped Daehwi feel a bit more confident and relaxed around girls. Although he doesn’t have much experience, I think he would do really well once he finally gets a girlfriend.
Bae Jinyoung - since he is still really young and awkward around girls, I don’t think he had a girlfriend before, maybe just one of those 3 days relationship when you’re really young and stupid. I think he will just have lots of one-sided crushes and not tell the other person he fell for her because he is afraid of rejection.
Park Woojin - lastly is this awkward turtle doesn’t have any experience. He has always been so focused on his dancing and started training at a very young age that I don’t think he ever had time to date. And besides the lack of time, he wouldn’t know how to act around girls and will be a shy mess.
